personally, i only found one recipe in here to try out, but i loved the general tips on cooking to achieve particular colors, tastes, or textures. there’s worksheets for figuring out your aversions that can also be used as communication aids for nonverbal ppl.

recipes all have their colors, tastes, and textures labeled right up top, so you know if it suits your needs right away. the author is autistic and has an extremely nonjudgmental way of writing about picky eating.

2. Who gets up to cook at 2am?

Hm... I could see Hux doing this. He tends to get overwhelmed with his thoughts at times and copes by seeking order in familiar things, and his mother was a kitchen worker so food/cooking would absolutely be a familiar thing.

6. Who is always, always running late?

Indie for sure. She's not usually late late, it's only ever a minute or two, but compared to Hux being Mr. Punctuality-and-Discipline all the time...

9. Who travels lighter?

Indie. She's been expecting to get up and run at any given moment, and could make do with nothing more than the clothes on her back if she had to. Hux, on the other hand, is used to professionalism and diplomacy, and probably has a whole system for what to pack for any trip he takes.

20. Who randomly brings home a stray puppy/kitten to adopt?

Oh, Indie for sure. She'd scoop that poor thing up and have it bathed and fed before Hux can even begin to worry if it has mange or something.

28. Who always steals the other's food? How does their partner react to it?

Honestly... neither of them, I think? Between Indie spending so much of her life vaguely food-insecure and Hux having so much militaristic etiquette drilled into him, neither of them are likely to take something off the other's plate without asking.

Though that does spark kind of a fun thought... Indie asks to split Hux's dinner roll literally one time since she just needs that extra few bites, but then he starts just quietly tearing his dinner roll in half and putting it on her plate before she can ask. I just... I can definitely see him being the quiet affection type like that, and especially using food as a means for that (because again, his mother was a kitchen worker and being in the kitchens was probably his only escape from his father as a kid)

39. Do they get along with the other's family? If not, how do they deal with the other's family?

What family? All four parents in question here are long dead, and neither of them have any siblings as far as they're aware. And honestly... that's probably for the better. They're both adamantly furious about the other's family situation, and it would probably end in some kind of brawl if they ever met face-to-face.

4. Their favorite show to watch together?

Honestly, I think any sort of popular sitcom - the US or UK version of the Office, Friends, Parks and Rec, etc. Jimmy's obviously never watched or heard of them before, so all the jokes are new and hilarious to him, and Lars thinks his reactions are cute even though he's seen it all a dozen times before. Plus, after a long day of research, it's nice to wind down to a show that doesn't require too much additional brainpower, y'know?

11. Who leaves notes in the other one's lunch? (Bonus: what do they say?)

Oh, Jimmy would absolutely do this. And not just because logic says it has to be him, since he doesn't need to eat anything himself. I could see the notes being a mix of just nice little reminders or compliments, and sometimes a silly pun or doodle.

(Lars, in turn, will sometimes stick little notes between the pages of whatever book Jimmy's reading for him to find as he reads)

15. Who's the first to cry during movies that don't seem sad?

Jimmy for sure - he just tends to fixate on these little details that other people don't notice, like seeing a Black doctor in the background of a shot or even something as simple as the Bellas in Pitch Perfect (so many women allowed to pursue a higher education!), and would just get overwhelmed at how much more accepting the world has become from his time.

17. Who is more competitive?

Gonna go with Lars here (though maybe I've just been watching way too much Taskmaster... lol)

37. Who wanted to see Oppenheimer; who Barbie? Did they switch opinions after?

Hm... both of these concepts are after Jimmy's time, so I think he'd be equally down for either one (though maybe he'd be more inclined to Barbie since Oppenheimer is just a really long, dark movie). Lars, I think, would go with Oppenheimer, since he strikes me as the history type.
