wonwoo had never in his life been so afraid. afraid of losing yn. yes. he had fallen for her. it only took weeks for her to break the hard shell he cast around his heart.

he couldn't bear to let her get hurt.

she was the first woman who had loved seollie with all her heart. she was the first woman her genuinely felt that he could confide in.

if comfort and security was a person, to him, it'd be yn.

and she was gone.

yn barricaded herself in her art room. her sculpting tools would be of great use in this situation.

her stalker was jaeho. jaeho and e/n to be precise.

jaeho and e/n were in cahoots the whole time. the plan was to monopolise the 2 daughters of a rich family so that they could get money to fund their careers.

however, after jaeho successfully married chaeyoung, he realised she was going to ruin his reputation so he asked e/n to brutally leave yn so he cld be there to pick up the pieces and seduce yn.

after that, jaeho began to stalk yn o figure out her new place of residence. e/n, began to separately stalk her, in an attempt to get her back.

"yn. i told you that you were next. don't be scared. i won't do anything."

"jaeho, my parents hate me. what does attacking me do for you? you won't get ransom!"

"not from them. i'll get ransom from your precious boyfriend wonwoo."

"you aren't making any sense! if you want money, i'll just give it to you. please just get out!"

jaeho wanted to hurt her. he blamed her for his misfortune with chaeyoung.

"if you were better, i wouldn't have married chaeyoung."

"how is that my problem! what is wrong with you? i'm confused and scared and you don't make sense. pl-"

she was cut off by the sounds of crashing and something being slammed into a wall. she heard clatters of metal and shouting before she heard the comfort of a voice she knew so well.

A Word With Jikookers

You might have known that most of my posts go under categories like analysis and reviews, and I usually don't address hates and haters in this blog except a few times that I had to respond to some anonymous asks, which is now turned off.

I'm aware that no Jikooker likes to be policed by other Jikookers, I hate that too. I hate woke Jikookers so much, and this is not about policing you guys or telling you what to post about. But, as someone who reads tweets on army Twitter on a daily basis and follows almost every drama between shippers, I'm aware that antis sound so bold and brave recently for no specific reason, and this is expectantly triggering most Jikookers to fight back.

Haters get hit tweets by "comparing" moments, shading members, bringing back their old and frequently debunked theories, and fabricating the dumbest stuff to give themselves some sense of winning against the loud and clear truth of Jikook. If there was any competition, they had lost it many times since 2017, but this breed is not going to admit their defeat, and you can never convince them no matter how strong your logic and evidence are.

I did that a few times, yes. I convinced several hardcore Taekookers that their ship is not real, and if there is one duo in BTS that might be romantically involved, it's Jikook. They admitted that to me after facing the evidence and facts that were hidden from them, but it didn't last long. Just a few days of interacting with their Tkkr fellas was enough to get brainwashed by more appealing theories and call me a liar and manipulator lol. This chain will never break, looking at the community of shippers in 1D made me sure about that.

It's not that they are trying to convince you (us, Jikookers), they are trying to convince themselves, the newcomers who have no clue about what goes on, the Tkkrs with some brain cells left who start to lose faith, and any weak mind out there is their target. It's already a lost battle for them, and they know it well. All they want is fewer losses.

But it's not just that, besides their attempts to keep their community big and in the majority, they are doing their best not to let you feel satisfied or winning (in the competition they made inside their minds). You need to knw that this is a mental war against Jikookers, and it's not just done by Tkkrs, all the breeds of Jikook-antis are on it these days, that's why I'm addressing them as antis and not just Tkkrs. For example, the other day, a JJK akgae tweeted something like 'jikookers are mad because JK likes girls', but in the quotes and replies, she had admitted that she was annoyed by Jikookers celebrating Jikook's new military photos.

It's clear who is mad here. They deliberately and blatantly lie and project to belittle you, trigger you, and reach some level of satisfaction by affecting you mentally. So, don't let that happen, don't give them what they want. I already said there's no battle or competition, but don't let them win this mental war against you.

Why So Serious?

Joost Meerloo, in his famous book 'The Rape of the Mind,' says: “Logic can be met with logic, while illogic cannot, it confuses those who think straight. The Big Lie and monotonously repeated nonsense have more emotional appeal than logic and reason. While the people are still searching for a reasonable counter-argument to the first lie, the totalitarians can assault with another.” Although we are not fighting a totalitarian regime lol, this is the exact reason that arguing with antis is pointless. They use 'theories' to debunk the 'moments', and call the real moments 'delusional and fake' while celebrating total lies.

Debunking lies is necessary, and everyone should do that as long as they are armed with perfect and mouth-shutting evidence. Otherwise, you should avoid it because nothing is more damaging than doing a bad defense. And these debunkings and defendings don't have to turn into arguments.

Joost Meerloo, in the same book, talks about a solution: “We must learn to treat the demagogue and aspirant dictators in our midst with the weapon of ridicule. The demagogue himself is almost incapable of humor of any sort, and if we treat him with humor, he will begin to collapse.”

Yes, you can debunk, correct, educate, and even argue in an unserious manner. Shipping is not that serious, anyway. Good humor is not insulting, we don't want to drag down or set anyone up. Spreading facts and truth positively and debunking lies with humor and ridicule is all we need to do instead of endless fights and anxious clapbacks.

This post was supposed to be a word, but it turned out as a long and boring essay of information that I'm sure most of you already heard so many times. But it doesn't hurt if we get reminded sometimes to think more deeply and get a better view on what we are dealing with.

I'm seeing a lot of talk about rapline needing to find their audience because armys don't listen to rap music or how they want rapline to be taken seriously in the western rap community. Meaning they want them to have real solo rap careers outside of BTS and cultivate an audience that actually enjoys their work instead of stans who just stream on the first day of release because they have to, and that is valid. It is a valid thing to want even though I do think it's ironic that if the same thing is implied or said in relation to vocal line,the person who even thought to say that would be called a "diet solo". I guess if you aren't a rapper you don't deserve your own solo audience and you should be confined to BTS alone.

But the thing is, armys are funny as fuck for that take I'm sorry. Like I get it but I find the whole thing amusing. You cannot have everything, you cannot want BTS as a group to be at the forefront of these men's careers and at the same time expect some of them to cultivate listeners outside of armys or Kpop.

As sad as it is, black rap fans view Kpop a certain way as opposed to pop stans who listen to music regardless of it's language or race of the singer. Even if they could be convinced to overlook the fact that the song is in Korean or rapline decides to release songs mainly in English, they lose all credibility the minute their association with a popular Kpop group becomes known. "BTS" as a label is beneficial to them and y'all have made sure that it's the only thing they're known for because you never wanted them to have careers outside of the group, but now you're mad that they have no audience outside of armys?

And honestly waiting for western black rap fans to consider them real rappers is something that's probably never going to happen, it's not even shade, just reality. Rapline can have good rap careers without acceptance from western rap fans, there are k rappers who aren't even that good, but have dedicated listeners who like their music and they also chart well in Korea. The problem is that armys have done a great job with stifling and gate keeping the members, the BTS label is also stifling to their individual growth. The most armys should hope for right now is some TikTok miracle happening for them because as long as they continue to be "BTS" and that's the only thing they're known for, they are not gaining that solo rap audience y'all have been talking about.

And we all know y'all want BTS as a group at the detriment of their solo careers, so just cut the crap. Y'all don't actually care about how they do as soloists, in fact y'all would love for all for all of them to flop because it kills any threat to BTS as a group. What y'all hate seeing is certain members doing better than some because y'all are scared of the divide and what it could mean for bts' future, y'all know that these are the kind of things that eventually lead to some members leaving and a group breaking up.

If they were all doing poorly or if some members hadn't experienced the kind of solo success that they had and they weren't such a huge gap, y'all would not care about rapline needing their own audience.

Empires SMP S1 Actors AU

I’m an absolutely sucker for actor AUs and this is an idea I’ve had for a while so here we go. Exactly what it says on the box.

Lizzie and Xornoth both have to spend a truly ridiculous amount of time in the makeup department. They’re like 60% practical effects and 40% CGI. They have become besties from spending so long together every morning before filming.

Scott keeps forgetting he has antlers. They keep banging into doorways, hallways, light fixtures, curtains, set pieces, and anything else you can think of. There are videos on YouTube called “Scott Smajor forgetting he has antlers for 10 minutes”

One time the rig used to lift one of the actors with wings in the air broke. During Xornoth and Pearl’s fight, a cable suddenly just snapped and it took nearly half an hour to get them down safely. They just kind of hung there in the meantime while Pearl was dying of laughter.

It’s a running gag that Jimmy can never keep track of where he put the codfather head. The props department ended up creating like ten identical cod heads because Jimmy kept LOSING his.

On a similar note, a popular game among the actors is seeing who can steal and hold onto Gem’s hat the longest.

Jimmy and Scott’s actors are married irl and are obnoxiously affectionate with one another. In a lot of the early scenes Scott kept breaking character because he “didn’t want to be mean to his husband”

Shelby and Katherine ship their characters and actively add fuel to the Nature Wives fire whenever possible.

Jimmy and Lizzie are not siblings in real life but Lizzie basically adopts Jimmy as her brother. Jimmy goes along with it because he always wanted an older sibling.

In almost every BTS picture and blooper released, Pixlriffs is just standing somewhere in the background ominously, staring at the camera. The fans have turned it into a game of where’s Waldo

Me anytime army discourse appears on my tl: Armys are so cooked 🫢

Jimin is actually popular. It's not an illusion, it's not bots. He genuinely has organic impact. He's more popular than rapline, more popular than most of kpopies fave groups, more popular than Jin, post-face I'd say he's arguably as popular as JK or Tae.

So let me know if I'm being delusional but I've started to feel recently that the fact that big army accounts and his company keep shading him or othering him has stopped affecting him and has instead just increased negativity towards the label and said big army accounts. Because many armys are cultish but like I said Jimin is popular. Atleast a few of them are slooooowly seeing the light and seeing all of it for what it is.

In spite of his many antis, Jimin's numbers are still pretty great and they're great because of fans not payola. Meanwhile the rest of them are either out of the picture completely or literally being kept afloat by their big playlists, remixes and constant restocks. Armys too are in terrible shape - I know there was infighting before but things are really bad nowadays. Them constantly platforming these low-key Jimin antis is backfiring on them because those guys suck. There was a surge of community after the four of them had enlisted but that's gone now too and I'm not surprised more and more people are going ia.

Is this karma? Too early to say but I hope so.

If Jimin didn’t seem “arguably” as popular as th and jk before, it’s because the online hate probably made it seem like he wasn’t. Tangibly, he’s always had the best results out the 3 prior to chapter 2 and he’s always been the most impactful without a doubt. He’s also objectively more popular than any other idol outside of bts that’s a hard ass fact lol.) But tbh, jimin being othered hasn’t really ever affected him success wise though, it’s mainly how people misconstrue him that impacts him negatively.

I agree that some armys (even though most of them are jimin biased) are seeing the fandom and label for what they are, but they’re minuscule compared to the rest of the fandom who don’t see anything wrong with how jimin’s being treated. Outside of that, any increased persecution of these accounts is definitely from pjms not letting them get away with the disrespect and being loud about it. That’s why I’d say the only way armys endorsing these anti jimin big shooter accounts is backfiring on them is that it’s making them lose genuine armys to solo stanning but negative for them plus for us.

Are all bts victors willing join rebellion ?

all are hesitant, with varying degrees of probability of joining.

Jin and Hoseok would need some type of assurance their families would be safe during a rebellion. Both would also have the concern of money and shelter, esp Hoseok. If the rebellion wins, how is Hoseok going to take care of his family? Does he keep the house on Victor's row? Will all his Victor's money still be valid? He has a family to feed and he's grown dependent on the victor status. Jin is more concerned about his status and the property he already owns, so more superficial but he's worked hard for everything he has (literally killed for it ) and isn't willing to give up much of his lifestyle. If a rebel were to meet with both of them and reassure them, I can see them supporting. albeit very subtly and cautiously. They’re not willing to bank everything on a rebellion being successful. But they do want the games to end for other kids.

Namjoon I can see wanting to support, but only on his terms. He's not willing to do the katniss thing and be a tv "symbol" or anything, he wants an actual say and control over what will happen. I can see him having lots of questions about policy and what will happen to the remainder of the capitol people. I can even see him becoming like a mayor or something for his home district once the rebellion succeeds. So yes, Namjoon will support as long as he’s given a role to inflict actual change. Ultimately I think he will get that role too, the rebels know how respected Namjoon is not only among other victors but with gamemakers too. Very integral to the operation.

Taehyung and Yoongi are a definite yes. The question is, will the rebellion want them to be part of their cause early on? Yoongi would definitely have to get sober and be better on tv, Taehyung would have to get more vocal and grow relationships with people in other districts. Neither is very likely to happen. I think the rebellion would focus their efforts on victors a bit more popular and friendly to act as spies, then eventually when the uprising is no longer a secret, the rebels will ask Yoongi and Tae to come fight. Both would without question.

Jimin and JK…tbh I don't really see them supporting it. I talked about this before but JK thinks it's the district's own fault for losing the first war and now they’re just being sore about it. As for the games, well if people are that scared of their kids competing, shouldn’t they train their kids? Or don't have any at all? I don’t think he’d rat out any victors who are working with the rebellion, but I do see him rolling his eyes and seeing it as some stupid conspiracy. Kind of how people scoff and make Illuminati jokes, that’s JK with the rebellion. As for Jimin, I think he’s grown very spoiled and kinda has a Stockholm syndrome relationship with the capitol. Remember how Effie Trinket got very depressed because she didn't have her wigs or makeup while living in District 13? That’s very Jimin core. He doesn’t necessarily like the games, but he thinks that kids die all the time in other ways so it’s not that big of a deal. It sucks but it's not enough to create civil unrest in Jimin's eyes. He could get behind slow and integral change like working with politicians in the capitol to get training camps legalized in all districts or maybe increasing the tribute age to 15-18. Small things like that.

A/N: sorry for not being so active lately guys, I was busy for the week of my birthday, and then my phone broke and that’s where I do most of my writing, so I got a new one! But this is the prequel to Fake Love :) if u wanna be on the taglist, reply to this post <333

It was Namjoon who noticed you first.

He was at the end of the table for the meet and greet, the first person the fans talked to when it was their turn. It always felt like a new experience whenever they did meet and greets in the States though, just because of the absolute culture shock. Fans here were so touchy, so ready to grab their hands and lean in across the table towards them and almost always flirty. It was something some of the other members took in stride, Jimin hardly faltering before tossing a flirty comment back and Jin responding with a squeaky laugh and a cheesy joke that he struggled to tell in English, but Namjoon could only smile awkwardly. Especially when he would talk with a fan and notice their eyes were only glancing down the table at members they were clearly more excited to talk to.

To put it simply, Namjoon kind of hated meet and greets. To be honest, the other boys did too, even if they were good at faking it. They loved being performers and having people scream their name. After a while, it started to inflate their egos. Of course they were the most popular group in the world, of course they worked harder than everyone else, of course they deserved everything they got. Their fans practically worshipped at their feet and they had every reason to. The humble attitude they kept up was a disguise, a persona only made to fish for more of the praise they thrived on.

He could see the line of fans clearly from where he sat, boredly inspecting the people in line while waiting for the next fan to take their seat in front of him.

That was when he first saw you.

You weren't necessarily different, not when he first looked at you. You were as fashionably dressed as almost everyone else there, BT21 merchandise of all their characters woven into your outfit, meant to impress them obviously. A cute Koya headband, Mang charms on your bracelet, Shooky charms on your necklace, RJ charms dangling from your ears, small Chimmy and Tata keychain plushes hooked into the front belt loops of your shorts, and a little Cooky ring. Actually, after getting a good look, Namjoon was pretty sure half of that wasn't even merch they sold. You could've made it yourself, fans have done similar things before. Nothing special. But he kept staring, eyes fixed on you. You were alone, not taking to anyone in line like others were, but you seemed perfectly content with that, like you were used to it and made your own peace with it. Namjoon couldn't remember the last time he'd been alone, really alone. He always knows he has the boys to rely on, to go back to when he gets lonely. It made him pity you a little and wonder what it'd be like to live a different life.

This sort of life got monotonous, being constantly surrounded by people and barred from dating by the company led to some irritation with their work. Having someone to spoil, someone to love, someone to have, would make up for all the time they've spent lonely in rooms full of people. He found himself distracted watching you, giving half-hearted answers to the people who sat in front of him, counting them down until it got to you. You were smiling excitedly when it was your turn to walk over to the table, a cute shy thing like you weren’t sure if you were really here right now. You walked over with wonder in your eyes, looking at him as you sat, only at him. He returned the smile, almost surprising himself when it came easier to his face than before. You bit your lip nervously as you sat before him and he found himself focusing on the action.

"Hello, I'm RM." He introduced, realizing he was silent for far too long. His voice seemed to startle you, you choked on air before composing yourself. Cute, maybe you weren't as put together as you seemed, he internally chuckled. The thought that he made you nervous made him weirdly proud.

"Sorry, I just-- Hi, I'm Y/n." You stuck your hand out suddenly, almost knocking over his water bottle. "Nice to meet you." You finished weakly.

Instinctively, he went to respond before stopping himself. It took a moment to realize, but you hadn't answered him in English like he expected. You were speaking Korean. Putting aside his shock, he went to answer. Fans often learned Korean for them, it wasn't anything too surprising, but they usually didn't speak Korean with him, since he spoke the most fluent English. You speaking to him in Korean was something that put him more at ease. His smile grew, even more genuine as he took the chance to tease you. "I'm supposed to be the clumsy one." He chuckled, pulling his water bottle aside to avoid any further accidents. That got a laugh out of you, a cute snort, but judging by the way you covered your mouth after you heard it, you didn't think it was as cute as he did. "You speak Korean?" He said instead, to distract from your embarrassment.

"Ah, yes, I've been learning for a couple years now. I wouldn't say I'm that good though." You said sheepishly, biting your lip nervously again. He chuckled inwardly. You better not do that in front of Jimin. With your cute mannerisms, seeing you bite your lip would probably make the other man determined to fluster you.

"No way, you're a natural." He insisted.

"It’s been a lot of hard work. Thank you, Namjoon-ssi." You responded softly, flustered by the compliment. "You inspired me actually."

"Me?" He blinked in shock. Well, he wasn’t really shocked, he heard people say that he inspired them all day long, but for some reason hearing you say it warmed his heart more than any of what he’d heard before.

You continued, unaware of his internal plight. "Yes. Well, yes and no. I was originally learning because I loved variety shows. I wanted to understand the jokes the way they were told, not just what the captions said." You explained, fidgeting nervously with your hands. He had to hold himself back from grabbing your hands to settle you, something in him racing to comfort you. "But I became quickly unmotivated. When I heard about how you learned English through watching Friends, I thought it was hilarious, and impressive. It reminded me that I only have to take it one step at a time. Or one episode at a time."

"Wow that's," he paused to laugh, his turn to be bashful, as he covered his mouth with a hand. “That's really sweet, actually. Are you this kind to all the other bands you do meet and greets for?" He teased.

"You're the only band I really follow closely. I listen to music of other groups, but there's something about your personalities, they mix so perfectly. Even if you weren't musicians, I'd be drawn to you." Your sweet voice said, and knowing that they were the only band who managed to catch your attention so firmly made him strangely proud.

"Drawn to us, you say?" He asked, voice trailing off as he leveled you with a look that, judging by the tilt of your head, was unreadable to you. But the mysterious look in his eye was a sign of his brain working, cranking out possibility after possibility. A flicker of hope burst inside him that he quickly extinguished. Be realistic, Namjoon, the leader needs a level head.

But his head was telling him only one thing.

Eventually your time was up, you having to move back down the table to his other members, but he kept a close eye on you as you moved. It looked like the rest of the boys were easily charmed by you, too. He could see you conversing with them easily without missing a beat, going from chair to chair with the same energy, leaving a bright smile on each boys face that was different from the practiced ones they usually had.

Jin hadn't laughed louder all day than when you were in front of him, and you and Taehyung seemed to have immediately entered a hushed serious conversation, though a light hearted one if the smile on both your faces was anything to go off of. Jungkook teared up at something you said while you were with him, and judging by the way Jimin was giving you his fuck-me stare (complete with his flirty smile) at the other end of the table, you were charming them exceptionally well. For the rest of the night after you left, the members were distracted, giving stilted conversation to the remaining fans. Namjoon caught himself drifting from reality at least twice, and if he was that bad off, he knew the rest were struggling even more.

When the fanmeet was finally done, they headed to a break room, waiting for the managers and staff to tell them they finished up for the day and were ready to leave. As Namjoon settled on the couch, chugging a bottle of water, the maknaes were still talking about you, huddling together on the floor and giggling like children. Namjoon was both surprised and unsurprised, he knew the boys all took a liking to you, but they weren’t usually so lively after an event like this. Usually they would be drained and be silent or half asleep.

Jimin sighed, melting against the couch as he stared up at the ceiling. "She was so perfect. You know, she said Chimmy was her favorite BT21 character." He sat up, boasting to the other two.

Yoongi chuckled, not moving from his position leaning against Hoseok’s shoulder as he spoke, eyes closed. "That's Jimin for you, give him one compliment and it's the only thing he'll talk about."

"Are they still talking about that girl?" Hoseok asked, cracking open a water bottle.

"You noticed her too?" Namjoon asked him. Hoseok was the impersonal out of all of them, honestly. He didn’t usually pay attention to what girl he was talking to, knowing they all wanted to hear the same generic spiel about how each and every one of them matter and he was just so excited to be meeting all his fans. Playing the happy one got tiring for him, Namjoon knew, and honestly he didn’t envy him.

However, Hoseok was smiling too, a genuine one as he fiddled with his water bottle. “She was nice. She just talked to me like a regular person. She called me Hoseok. Not Hobi, or J-Hope, or anything.”

Jimin sighed, leaning his head back against the couch cushion. “She had the cutest smile when I talked with her, she didn't even get half the stuff I was saying." He chuckled.

"Because she's not a native speaker and you were saying dirty things to her with your accent." Jin pointed out.

"So fucking cute, hyung" Jimin smiled, sliding down until he was laying flat on the floor.

"That girl is my soulmate--" Taehyung said, dreamily gazing at the wall with a twinkle in his eye.

Jungkook cut him off, "You mean my soulmate!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, did you exchange all your deepest secrets in five minutes? I didn't think so." Taehyung gloated.

"That girl was pretty charming. She actually laughed at all my jokes! And she wasn't faking it either." Jin agreed, smiling as he thought back on the pleasant conversation with you.

"She must be insane." Jungkook teased.

Jin huffed. "No! She told me she didn't know all the figurative language and slang. The jokes were all new to her so she found them funny."

"We talked about dance! She said she did ballet when she was younger and looked up to me as her inspiration for getting back into dancing. What I wouldn't do to see her in some tights. And the way she bit her lips, oh my god." Jimin babbled, slapping the floor excitedly.

"Stop being horny, Jimin." Yoongi scolded, flipping through the channels on the TV boredly.

"Like you have any room to talk, hyung. You were staring at her so hard I thought your head would pop.” Jimin teased, Yoongi turning pink.

"Was not!" He denied.

"Was too! What did she say?"

"She just said she liked my music." He replied, not meeting anyone's eyes.

"Bullshit. What did she really say? There’s no way she'd say something generic like that."

Yoongi hesitated for a moment, then said, "She said when she listens to my music, her soul yearns to be comforted."

"Woah.”

"And that got you all hot and bothered?" Jimin continued teasing.

"Shut up." He rolled his eyes but continued. "She was just so genuine. The passion in her eyes was... magnetic. I could understand her and see myself in her. It was... an instant connection."

"With me as well. We talked about art. She speaks so many languages, did she tell you hyung?" Taehyung said, turning to Namjoon.

Namjoon shook his head no. "She only told me she learned Korean."

"She also knows Mandarin and Japanese and French and Spanish. She's incredible. She says she envied us for being she to travel the world. It's a dream of hers."

"She wants to travel the world?" Namjoon said, brain overworking again.

"She said that when she heard my story, it made her sad. She heard about my past and how hard I worked to become an idol and she related to it, she said she felt the same way I did. We're the same age but hyung, her life is so sad. She's been so alone for long." Jungkook added, looking up at Namjoon with his puppy eyes. It always made Namjoon’s heart hurt when he had that look on his face.

Hoseok nodded. “That's kinda like what she told me. She said she envied my charisma, my personality. She said she loved my confidence and how I always had the strength to keep going. She told me to never stop loving myself."

"Hyung, we have to see her again." Jungkook turned to Namjoon again, puppy eyes in full force as he pleaded.

"Ah, Jungkook, this has all been good fun, but I don't think that'll be possible." Namjoon scratched the back of his neck. He’d been thinking about it, sure, but Namjoon thinks about a lot of things. Treating this like anything other than an indulgent daydream would be crazy.

But Jungkook was persistent. "No, hyung, you can do something about this, can't you? You always know what to do."

Namjoon could feel his resolve straining, "I don't know, koo."

"It would be nice. Just to see her again, at least once." Yoongi hummed.

"Can't you get her address off of the raffle tickets or something?" Taehyung suggested.

"That’s crossing a couple boundaries." Namjoon said, slightly concerned.

"So? She's a fan, she'd be happy to see us." Jin shrugged.

"And she's already made us so much happier! Please?" Jungkook whined.

"I’ll... see what I can do." He acquiesced finally, unable to deny any longer.

"Yay!" The maknaes cheered, and while the hyungs rolled their eyes at their blatant enthusiasm, Namjoon could see their moods brighten too. He won’t deny he was eager to see you again as well. Having you in their lives would definitely make it better.

After meeting you, he was sure. The impact you had on him, on his band mates. They needed you.

Now they just had to get you to need them.

Benji’s the most popular (2.3M followers) and he posts the randomest most funniest shit on the PLANET. He hardlaunches Ethan with the out of my league trend (13M) despite NEVER mentioning being in a relationship before. He regularly forces Luther and Ethan to do trends w the rest of Hunt’s team, like I can’t find ayesha cuz she’s probably sucking dick/bitch pick up your goddamn phone you’re gonna make me sick where they all are on it w really cool transitions. He likes to talk abt SW or ST or DW a lot and one of his most liked videos (and how some people discovered him) is him replying to a comment that’s like “what’s knotting” and he just stares into the cam while putting one a red nose to a circus music. He makes a photo post that’s like we’ll be a fine line we’ll be alright with a pic of the first hunts team mission w their latest one, and people ask him if he likes Harry styles and he just goes “who❤️” He does the pabrobui mwah mwah trend w Ilsa while they’re ALSO in a mission in Poland and they’re dressed in very warm clothes and everyone’s like oh my god…I’ve seen two pretty best friends. I genuinely think he’s got a few moves in him so there’s one of his most liked vids where he’s filming himself cooking in his kitchen where he’s barely dancing to busy earnin’ and the vibes are IMMACULATE. He 100% did the ceilings and you with the dark curls you with the watercolour eyes trends. He ALSO forced the entire team to do the benjamin’s deli trend (dancing slowly in the light vs throwing moves in the dark while people put on their phones’ light). Jane’s account is at 700k and one of her most liked vids is with Ilsa where they’re lipsynching the pam and i feed off each other’s energy. I tease her, she teases me (…) and that’s when people start to get that they’re all mates. She does the bitch you know I’m sexy trend with Will and Benji. She forces Ethan (he lost a dare) to do the you carry yourself with the confidence of a…much taller man trend. She soft launches Ilsa w a video of “24H in my life” (while she’s on break) where you can see glimpse of her gf and her followers go insane trying to figure out who it is. She posts herself and benji where benji’s tied to a repelling cable on a high building and she’s zooming in on him w the never back down never what/never give up audio in the background and people are like what the fuck r y’all doing??? She also is a great dancer so she regularly posts herself to the latest dance trend (she KILLED Angel in Tibet and Back on 74.) Both she and Benji did the okokokok lalala trend w their respective partners. (ilsa’s ok janes lala and ethans lala while benjis okokok)

Brandt (560k) is fucking hysterical bcs you’d think he doesn’t know what fun is and is so serious about literally everything and well. you’d be kind of right. He mostly post himself at the gym and people ask him a lot abt his supplements and his program, things to which is gracefully replies. His most liked video is SO Brandt coded because it’s just him crossed armed at his desk looking into the cam with like, company in the background, which technically qualifies as a thirst trap and everyone’s so confused because they’re like oh my god…I think I’m attracted to office workers. He also posts a lot of him sparring, sometimes w Benji or Jane or Ethan or Ilsa and people go kind of insane about those. He never gets Hunley on cam but once he replies to a comment that’s like “are you free tonight” and he just stares into the cam and pulls hunley’s left hand w the wedding band on it with the audio IM MARRIED in the background. THATS where his followers find out he’s gay and they’re like A WIN FOR THE COMMUNITY. Just like benji he can play the guitar, so sometimes he posts vids of himself playing, either of requested songs or some he likes.

~That Horrible, Wonderful Feeling~

Author note:

Here is chapter 1 of the project I've been working so long on!! I'm super passionate about this storyline, so I'm hoping you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. As of right now, I have about 4 chapters completed, and depending on how well this is received I plan on posting them as well. Enjoy your Namjoon crumbs, there is SO much more to come!

Chapter 1: Ideal Woman

Namjoon's POV as he deals with prying reporters, stalkers, and some unwarranted feelings that send him spiraling. How can he claim to know and protect his fellow members if he doesn't even know himself? Y/N, one of 8 members of the worldwide popular K-pop boyband BTS, slowly helps Namjoon along in his journey of self-discovery and acceptance, dealing with his own feelings along the way.

“Now, RM, the fans are dying to know. What are your ideal traits in a girl?” The interviewer smiled and held out the microphone towards Namjoon expectantly. The camera pans over to his face and he forces a smile and glances down.

What a stupid fucking question.

He is so tired of being asked the same questions. Although he knew it was bound to happen due to BTS being worldwide famous idols, still, indulging reporters and tabloids who are constantly hungry for new content and scandals to feed their prying gossipers is so exhausting.

“Ah, well, you know, we all are focusing on our career and don’t have time for anything like that.” He avoids the question, hoping the reporter will drop it. She doesn’t catch on. She has a smile that is too wide and obviously faked. Honestly, Namjoon is pretty sure this american interviewer doesn’t even really know BTS too well or even listen to their music.

“Come on, everyone has a type. ARMY wants to know what kind of woman is RM’s type?”

As if you can speak for ARMY.

“Why do you care?” Namjoon snaps. He surprises himself with his response and immediately follows it up. “I-I mean, it doesn’t really matter. As long as they love and accept me, I guess.” He saves it the best he can. The interviewer stares him down.

“Awe, how sweet. Well before you go Namjoon, we just gotta know! There have been rumors going around that you secretly have a girlfriend! Is it true? Should we be expecting an announcement soon?” As she speaks, pictures flash across the screen of Namjoon caught in the street taking pictures with a fan. Namjoon feels frustration bubble up, not only at the accusation but at the lack of privacy and how the tabloids must have been following him around taking pictures.

“Wow. Really? Shameless.” He loses his patience. “I don’t appreciate being followed and stalked everywhere I go, you know. She is a fan and we took a picture. Sorry I couldn't satisfy your gossip.” He can’t stop himself. “Do you guys really get paid for this? Pushing this scummy, heteronormative agenda on celebrities hoping for a sliver of drama just so you can get a few clicks in by exaggerating and lying? We are people too, just like you. Normal people. So no, you don't get to make assumptions about me or pry into my life.”

“Heteronormative? Are you saying you are something other than straight? Is this official?” The woman interjects. Namjoon is fuming.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Namjoon gets up and storms away from the lit up booth and over to his staff, who briskly apologize to the interviewer and team and take him back to the studio.

Namjoon knows he went too far. Luckily his agent made sure that the interview would be scrapped and not published, but that is now an entire news group that BigHit won’t ever get an interview with again. Honestly they didn’t need the extra publicity, since at this point any company would be more than ecstatic to host an interview from BTS, but this was supposed to be a series of solo interviews from each of the artists, which would have no doubt been popular. Still, he didn't feel bad. Too many times have people asked BTS questions about their private lives and tried exposing them with false accusations and start scandals, none of which ever stick due to ARMY being so protective of them, but it took a toll on their mental health sometimes. Namjoon sinks into the back seat of the car as he looks out the window, listening to the patter of rain on the roof and watching the street lights reflect off the dripping window.

My ideal woman, huh?

He reflects. Everywhere he goes where people ask him these questions, they always say “ideal girl” or “woman,” always assuming he is straight. I mean, he IS straight, but it bothers him nonetheless. It’s not like anyone bothers to ask, they always just assume. He knows that people just want to hear him talk about specific traits and types to fulfill people’s fantasies. It seems people also assume that all ARMYs are straight fangirls. It’s 2023, how are people still pushing heteronormative standards? He takes out his phone to see new messages in the BTS group chat.

WWH: How’d the interview go?

Namjoon sighed and typed out his response.

Me: Horribly. Pretty sure I ruined it for all of us, sorry guys. JK: How so? Me: I lost it and kind of snapped V: Dang, sounds like they deserved it then. No worries man, probably for the best Me: Stupid private questions. I got too pissed though, it is my fault, but still Y/N: Ew, don’t they have anything better to do? Jimin: Fr. Don’t feel bad, I would have been short tempered too J-hope: Does this mean we have a free weeknd? WWH: Nice spelling J-hope: thx dad JK: Hell yeah, let's do a movie night! (read by SUGA, WWH, J-hope, and 4 others)

Namjoon puts his phone away and looks out the window again.

“Are you saying you are something other than straight? Is this official?”

The woman’s words echo in his head longer than he would have liked. Namjoon has always liked women, that he is certain of. Ever since he was little he had crushes on disney princesses and actresses all the time. He had his fair share in heartbreaks and girlfriends in school too. Ever since becoming an idol, however, everything relating to romance seems to have left his life and been put in the back of his mind. He knows it's because they are idols that they aren't allowed to publicly date. That isn’t to say however that he didn't fantasize about having a partner or being in a romantic relationship. Despite BTS being his family and never truly being alone, he couldn’t help feeling lonely in some ways. These days, Namjoon finds himself stuck in his room working even in his free time. Maybe this weekend becoming suddenly free would be a blessing after all.

Namjoon walks into what he and BTS know as the “safehouse,” which is a large home away from the city where all 8 members have access at all times and their own separate rooms. They usually go to the safehouse when they want to meet up, have events and parties or just whenever they want to get out to somewhere private from their own separate homes. The other members are already gathered around in the dining room as he comes through the door.

“Hey, there he is! Welcome to the finest restaurant in all of Korea.” Hoseok yells over from the table where they are all feasting on what looks like bbq.

“Join us, I slaved away at making this for all of you, congratulate me.” Jin’s bubbly voice calls.

“As if. All you did was order the food hyung, don’t act like you prepared it!” Jimin teases Jin and reaches over to put some beef over the bbq and then dips it in some sauce.

“Ah, perfect. I’m starving.” Namjoon puts away his things and sits down in the empty chair next to Y/N. They all get into food and conversation, laughing and smiling and having a great time.

“I’m curious, what did she ask you that sent you over the edge?” Jungkook quired, sitting back as Taehyung brought over some beers.

“The interviewer started asking about my ideal type of woman, a question which I can usually dodge, but she was persistent. Then they pulled up pictures of me back when I was visiting Switzerland where I met a fan and they tried to frame it like a secret girlfriend situation.”

“They followed you to Switzerland?” Y/N looked up, a disgusted look on his face.

“Guess so. Anyways after that she-” Namjoon cuts himself off.

“Are you saying you are something other than straight? Is this official?” Her words came bubbling up again, making him feel nauseous.

“She what?” Taehyung presses. Namjoon shakes his head.

“Nothing. I just got pissed, snapped at her and left after that.” He avoids eye contact with any of them, hoping someone will change the subject.

“I think you were in the right. I would have been so snarky.” Yoongi speaks up from the corner seat.

“Yeah, don’t think about it too much man. There will always be more interviews, with better and more respectful people.” Jungkook says, trying to make him feel better.

The conversation shifts from there and as the night goes on, the boys get more and more inebriated. Jin is practically howling from laughter at Hoseok, who is falling over in his chair with his face bright red. Jimin is half asleep, Jungkook is not far behind him, and Taehyung is talking about some nonsense with Yoongi. Y/N and Namjoon seem to be the better off in the bunch, simply making stupid jokes and laughing at the other members. Namjoon speaks up.

“I’m drunk, gonna turn in for the night. As should all of you.”

“I think Jimin is already there.” Jin laughs and points at Jimin, who is face flat on the table.

“I’ll take him to his room.” Jungkook sighs and lifts Jimin up and carries him away. The other members eventually all go to their respective rooms also. Namjoon makes his way to his room.

Namjoon closes his door and goes to get ready for bed. His tipsiness makes him stumble sometimes, but he manages to get changed and brush his teeth. After getting ready, he practically falls into his bed and crawls underneath the light brown and white covers. He drifts into thought.

Ideal woman…

Namjoon starts thinking about what he finds attractive. He imagines lean, fit bodies and smooth skin. Silky hair and slightly parted lips. Sparkling eyes and light voices that entice him. He imagines a pair of hands caressing his face, feels the hands move down his neck and to his chest, constantly moving. The hands then become arms attached to a lean and skinny body, a dancer’s body. He feels the body with his own hands, moving to the sides of the person and down to their hips. The person materializes even more, revealing defined abs that lead to a man’s chest and strong thighs that straddle Namjoon’s middle, masculine shoulders that carry beauty and grace. The person is a beautifully built man. The face is blurred, but he can make out plump lips that shine, half parted in a silent breath. The figure leans down into Namjoon, hands on his chest and head as it gets closer to his face. Namjoon is lost in a trance by this beautiful person, and leans in to meet his lips with theirs, when he is met with air. He opens his eyes to his empty room and him in bed.

What a strange dream.

He winces as he adjusts under the covers and discovers that he is partially hard.

Great, just what I need.

He doesn’t have the energy to fix it right now, so he just takes a deep breath and ignores it. Eventually, Namjoon drifts off to sleep.

The next day arrives quickly, and the members are all hung over in the house waking each other up and groaning in the living room.

“What’s everyone’s plans today?” Jimin pipes up, cheerfully, as if he didn't get absolutely wasted the night before. J-hope looks up at him from his fetal position.

“How are you a real person?”

“Yoongi-ssi and I were going fishing if anyone wants to join us.” Jin puts the offer out there, to which nobody volunteers.

“I thought you hate fishing?” Y/N asks Yoongi.

“I do, but it makes Jin hyung happy. And it's more fun with friends.” Yoongi half spoke, half groaned his response.

“Awe, he does have a heart!” Jimin teased. Yoongi curled deeper into his blanket in response.

“I want to go hiking today, anyone want to come with? We can get ramyeon after and karaoke!” Jungkook suggests.

“Oh, that sounds fun! I'll come.” Hoseok blinks the sleepy away from his eyes and nods.

“Jimin and I will come too.” Taehyung holds up his arm.

“Do I get any say in this?” Jimin smacks Taehyung’s shoulder.

Guess that leaves Namjoon and Y/N. Namjoon turns to him.

“Would you be interested in going to the National Folk Museum of Art in Seoul? I haven’t been there in a while.” Namjoon and Y/N both share a passion for minimalistic art and artists as well as art history. Y/N looked up at him and smiled through groggy eyes.

“Sure, that sounds fun!”

Cute.

“Sounds like we all got plans then! Get up and get going boys, or these hangovers are gonna take your Friday away.” Jin initiates the march to get ready for the day and get going. As everyone gets up and gets ready to leave, Namjoon also stands up. Y/N stays on the couch for a second before groaning and putting his arms out.

“Help me up hyung, i'm dying.” Namjoon smiles and exaggeratedly pulls Y/N up from the couch.

“I take it I will be driving us?” Y/N teases.

“It’s safer for us and the universe that I don’t.” Namjoon laughs and lets Y/N go upstairs. He trips over the first step, making Namjoon smile.

Was he always this adorable?

Some time goes by and Namjoon gets a text.

Y/N: I’ll be ready in 15, meet me in my car? Me: SOunds good Y/N: Lol typo

He puts his phone away and gets ready. After 15 minutes of looking for a good art museum outfit (he decides on jeans and a hoodie because he couldn't decide) Namjoon heads downstairs and to the parking lot to meet Y/N. He sees the light mint green beetle with its engine on and in the driver’s seat is Y/N, in what looks to be a brown sweater and a green beret with thin circle glasses. He opens the passenger door and buckles his seatbelt.

“You look nice! Perfect for the museum.” Namjoon compliments his outfit.

“Ah, a classic Namjoon look.” Y/N laughs, pointing out Namjoon’s plain outfit.

“Yeah well, I'm okay with being inconspicuous.”

“You will be my staff as I get all the attention!!” Y/N smiles and gives Namjoon’s shoulder a light punch. Namjoon looks around the inside of Y/N’s car, taking it all in. The interior is light brown and clean, Y/N likes to keep his things tidy. On the windshield mirror is hanging a car freshener that looks like a daisy. Y/N turns on his bluetooth and connects his phone to the radio.

“Any music suggestions?” He asks Namjoon.

“I want to listen to what you want. What are you listening to these days?” Namjoon inquires. It has been a while since he hung out with any of the members one on one. Y/N nods and scrolls through his phone as if it was a super important decision.

“I need to find songs that you wont judge me for.” Y/N laughs, half joking.

“You know I listen to a bit of everything, not much can surprise me.” Namjoon reassures him. Y/N smiles and a song begins to play. Namjoon recognizes it as Troye Sivan’s “Lucky Strike.” Y/N bops his head along to the music and looks at Namjoon for approval.

“I know Troye Sivan. He has a great voice.”

“God, what I would GIVE to do a collab with him!” Y/N reels, then puts the car in reverse and they set off. The car ride is pleasant and calming as they take turns recommending songs and vibing to them, moments of silent listening as well as gushing about artists they like.

“I wish we could be more open in our music. Like Troye Sivan or Frank Ocean.” Y/N expresses. “I mean, I know we technically can, and there is nothing wrong with expressing your true self through music, but I feel like we have to be so on edge because of how many people listen to our music.” Namjoon understands what he means.

“I get it. We have to tiptoe around certain topics because of how international our reach is.” Y/N nods solemnly to Namjoon's response.

“Yeah. I just wish I could write about what I want without worrying about scandals. We write about girls all the time, I'd love to write a boy love song.” Y/N is focused on the road. Namjoon turns to look at him when he says that, but doesn't say anything. They bop their heads to music the whole way, Y/N making silly gestures and expressions to the music as he drives. A slight burning feeling arises in Namjoon's chest, and upon realizing he is staring quickly glances away and swallows.

Must still be hungover.

Hi, I wanted to ask about kpop in general. I have come across comments of people saying they miss the old kpop and that now kpop is becoming too westernized and hollywood. Like kpop is losing it's Identity somehow. What are your thoughts on this?, Will kpop lose it's idenitity?

There's always going to be something else that comes along that replaces the current pop trend in music/entertainment. Like in the 90s to early 2000s people were really into NSYNC or like Backstreet Boys. Then One Direction came out. Mixed with this was some jpop trend too etc.

Things will come and then go, just like kpop. Kpop won't be forever this popular. I still don't sense kpop is that widely accepted among Western countries; there's still some racism or the need to keep to music from your own country you know? Western countries aren't going to be so inclined to let others take away their business you know?

Kpop has always tried to spread more to USA, starting way back with like SNSD/DBSK or even earlier probably. Things didn't really boom until social media was born and then booming more and some idols were able to communicate more in English (that 1 language that most people know/forced to study). BTS just happened to come along around that time. Part of it honestly is luck because many kpop idols work hard too. Right circumstances. Right people. A fresh feeling. Had they debuted earlier like in 2005 or something I highly doubt they'd be this popular. This is why it's very, very difficult to replicate or have a formula for this.

Does adding English words to a song make something less Kpop or does having foreign producers/people working on a song make something less Kpop? When an idol sings a completely English song does that make that less Kpop? How do you define Kpop - Koreans singing pop songs or ??? Does adding a non Korean in the group make it less Kpop ? I think these sort of questions will forever be a debate and there's no clear answer. However, our expectations from the past for Kpop groups have been that there are members in a group (usually just 1 gender - rarely coed), they all must dance in some way or attempt to, they all must either sing or rap, most of the songs are in Korean and sometimes there are some English words sprinkled here and there, the MVs are filmed well (sometimes with a storyline), the members have "set" personalities, and there's fan service.

I don't think it's really about Kpop losing its identity. It's more like people/fans are tired of similar things being pumped out like a lot of people thinks it's a formula and a lot of people are aiming for the Western markets or recognition from the West. There's also an element of politics at play, business, etc. Kpop/K-entertainment is South Korea's soft power so it's important for the gov to also maintain that likeability that people have for Kpop/K-entertainment. South Korea compared to other countries doesn't have much arable land or natural resources. They have to rely on other things like ship building, tourism (tied to Kpop/K-entertainment), electronics, etc to maintain their economy.

Sorry for this useless post, I know you've talked about this a thousand times on your blog already, but I can't stress enough just how much I despise Jikookers.

That 'not-goldy' blog is literally talking about how they don't blame ot7s for staying far away from Jimin because Jimin's fans are toxic. What kind of supposed ARMY says something like that? So they're just going to pretend Jimin's stans are just attacking people unprovoked? They're just going to pretend the reason they're like this isn't retaliation for the way ot7s have been treating Jimin for years? And PJMs are somehow the worst of all solo stans for simply defending Jimin? The recent issue with the RIAJ certification and Hybe sharing articles labeling JK as the first to go platinum when JM is the first didn't even move them? Wow.

And someone compared JK's support for Eunwoo with his "support" for JM (I don't even know why anti-jikookers/non-shippers keep sending those people asks. It's hopeless) and this not-goldy person literally said JK is a sold out king and people are dying to have him promote their work. What!? They're literally implying that JK's Lives helped JM's career and gave him more exposure - I wouldn't be surprised if they wholeheartedly believe that JM's huge success and longevity on the charts is all thanks to JK. These people are really content in ignoring the fact that JM is objectively the most popular BTS member outside of the ARMY Fandom.

And it's crazy that not a single Jikooker commented on their posts to disagree with them. They are really never beating the allegations that they don't care about JM and only use him as a tool for their shipping fantasies.

I'm not going to check the blog because I don't want to lose braincells but I'll take your word for it.

Well, most of them never implied it - they outright said a lot of times that he was promoting Jimin and doing for him what the company didn't do. They were saying it even after seven and seeing the difference in treatment. Sometimes I do wonder if they even see it because they seem to be interested only in the interactions and the ship moments. It's not like they really care about anything else.

Promotion is introducing your work to a new audience. Jungkook went live for the same friendless, touch-starved public he goes live for every day; the people watching him that time were the same that wanted Jimin to get hate crimed in the military two weeks ago. Fantastic promo job, indeed. Hope he's collected his nobel peace prize.

A few days ago I suddenly remembered the name of a jikooker whose posts I hadn't come across in a while, so I looked it up and her whole blog is Jungkook. Literally. There's nothing about Jimin. Right after I saw that, Jimin and Jungkook went to Japan and I thought "now she's going to acknowledge Jimin exists". I went to her blog again and lo and behold... a jikook post after months of her not posting anything about Jimin. Not even This is Jimin. That's how all the jikook accounts that get the most interactions are here in tumblr.

Most Jimin biased people at least admit that they care more about Jimin, and that they might have some soft spot or affection for Jungkook. But others act like they really respect and like both in the same capacity when you can tell that's not true. Then they'll try to police others on how to be a fan when they're hypocrites themselves.

Exactly. That's why they never cared about the favoritism because they actually, geniunely think Jungkook is better and more deserving. To them, the favoritism was just status quo because to them, Jimin is less than Jungkook as an artist and at times, even as a person. That's why they never said anything, pretend they're not seeing the lies, the mediaplay, the manipulation and all the lenghts they went and are going for him to get stuff Jimin got with the bare minimum and without his fans thinking about records.

Sorry pls ignore my last ask BPP. Your point about Seven being the 'Dynamite' equivalent in solo era is a good one and explains the treatment it got. After the BB article I also now understand why BH dropped LC. If BB believed the LC record was 'tainted' with Chinese cash and BH never had that 'Dynamite' promotion plan for it, everything that's happened makes sense. But it still leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. I can't wash it out. Are we now at the mercy of BB's whims? Also don't you find the support for Seven excessive? Is the elimination of direct to consumer sales enough to explain that kind of support to keep it number 1? I'm just trying to understand how the company is thinking about things without victimizing the members. They all seem to be still working with purpose so I feel they don't feel shortchanged, but from the outside looking inside it doesn't feel fair.

My opinion is, that while BB is paramount when it comes to big awards season, eventually BB and the awards themselves serve as a kind of promotion, to validate the artist to their (potential) fanbase, keep them invested etc. BTS guys do all of that on their own, with their music, personalities and lyrics. So going forward, if they dont chart as much, dont win as much... It will not matter in the long run. Their fan base is so solid that I trully believe they will have no problem selling multiple stadium stops 25 years from now. Easily.

There will be a significant fandom fall off, when all the people who are here for bragging rights lose their interest. And that is a good thing... But the people who will stay, who love the guys for who they are and for their art, those whose love does not depend on how many grammy noms or BB H100 they recieve... These people will stay and buy the tickets. And their numbers will still be enourmous. Enviable. More than the majority of the western industry plants can only dream of.

So, how can we ever know what is truly popular? Are fervent fans willing to devote time and resources to get their fave to the top really the best arbiters? Even if they number in the millions, we are still looking at support that is far deeper than it is wide.

I mean, better than the suits deciding, I guess? Or is it just another group--this one outside of the target country--imposing their agenda on the population? One has the goal of making money; the other of winning a fan war.

So, how do we ascertain what is truly popular with the much-vaunted GP? Or doesn't it matter?

I've said many times on this blog that I'm not a writer, and that English isn't my first language, so I suppose it's unsurprising that despite my efforts putting my thoughts to paper/Tumblr, I'm still unable to fully communicate it in a way people understand right away, to eliminate/answer a lot of questions that I believe should be clear to infer from what I've written before. So rather than write a massive post like before where my key points could get lost, I'll pick out key questions from your asks and give fairly brief answers to each one. I'll work my way from the top, down.

I think the results speak for itself. Dynamite and the PET got what is easily the biggest support any BTS release had gotten to date at the time - all of it tailored to mirror how American labels promoted their tracks, *and* the fandom had D2C sales buttressing it as the primary support mechanism. Like, please read that sentence again and think about what it means. Sales are the easiest and most transparent way for the fandom to influence charts, and so was always preferred for ARMY. Even if you weren't in the fandom then, understand it's impossible to overstate how much D2C sales mattered. With that now out of the question, everything we're seeing for Seven for me feels like a given, especially after the Billboard article.

Yes. But not 'less relevant' in a sense, more like differentiated and treated as its own thing, perhaps in a separate chart.

This probably requires its own post but the long-short of it is: just like Ticketmaster, Billboard is only one arm of one of the largest private monopolies in the US entertainment market - PMC, and as such they serve as gatekeepers of sorts. Their interest in BTS (and k-pop by extension) lies primarily in how they can profit off the group/fandom, which so far BigHit and ARMY have created very limited avenues for. BigHit's strategy until now has been to expand BTS's reach without relying on the PMC apparatus, using it only for select releases that are explicitly tailored for it e.g. Seven and PET. While I don't think this strategy will change dramatically, every change from BB is to force more compliance with their apparatus. BTS will continue facing handicaps from PMC so long as BigHit continues limiting how PMC can profit from BTS for each release. (This sentence makes sense in my head but if it's not clear, please let me know.)

Well, yeah. But ARMYs can't take all the credit. After all, ARMYs are only doing what the Bey Hive and Swifties have been doing for almost a decade with none of the scrutiny. BTS, more than any other group, actually has the absolute numbers in demand and grassroots support to justify it as they're comparable to the afore-mentioned artists, proven by their concert showings not just in the US but worldwide, as far back as 2018. People only started paying attention to ARMYs' movements because BTS didn't look like the sorts of people they expected to see at the top of the charts. Everybody took notice, including a political faction in the US that in recent years has moved more aggressively into the entertainment sphere to influence culture, such as Ben Shapiro's entertainment empire, movies like Sound of Freedom topping box office charts, and conservative country singers pushing Reagan-esque talking points to the top of music charts. So it's basically the result of timing and opportunity.

People sent in more asks on BB but I've since lost interest in this topic and will post my responses when I feel like it, much later, using the same format I've used to answer the asks above. The truth is that while I understand why many people feel like everything that's happened so far with Seven and Jimin is unfair, I think a lot of the discourse is awfully reductive, actually does a disservice to Jimin and BTS, and that there's a much bigger picture here that's more consistent with how BTS has operated for the last 10 years.

This is probably not the best analogy, but one way I think of BTS is like a Swiss army knife, with each member being a separate tool. And that at different points, in various markets, BigHit and BTS are testing various approaches to expand their reach while aiming to maintain the market share they've gotten so far. The group has always had projects they release that have more artistic merit and cache, versus projects made by all appearances to be purely for commercial purposes to expand the reach of the group. For example, consider how BigHit promoted Butter/Permission to Dance, compared to the BE album, or how Seven was created and promoted relative to Indigo. To go back in even further in previous years, I remember how BTS appeared to center Jimin in Blood, Sweat & Tears era to build out his and their presence in Korea, and Taehyung in DNA era where his and BTS's presence in China ballooned in 2017.

While in the solo era some people feel like every accomplishment remains solely with individual members, I feel everything serves only one purpose: to further establish the group. Because by BTS's own words, they all have their individual ambitions, they've always had that and each member is aggressively competitive on that note, but they've each all said that their priority remains the group. Not everybody likes that, not everybody believes them when they say it, but the good thing with BTS is that they plan in multi-year stints and time always reveals what the facts of the matter are. We're only one year into Chapter 2, and while certain parts of the fandom are treating their solo debut albums as the be all and end all, I don't think there's anything to suggest this perspective lines up with the reality of how BTS has behaved for the last 10 years. I could be wrong, but either way we're just going to have to wait and see. In the meantime, I believe there's significant artistic merit in what the guys are putting out in Chapter 2, that I hope isn't lost in the noise. The fandom should do a better job of bringing the attention back to this, rather than a tunnel-vision on performance metrics that only tell half of the story.

Ever since you were a small child you always wanted to have your life on a specific path - good grades; make it to college; get a stable and good-paying job; meeting the man that would be the love of your life; having a house that would be big enough for the two and future babies and pets.

You had everything planned to the smallest detail for as long as you can remember. You can't remember if you had made those choices by yourself or if they had been informed by your parents, but regardless, you had always gone out of your way to make extra sure that everything went according to the plan.

But, more times than necessary, life would throw a curveball that would hit you straight in the face. In your case, that ball had come in the form of the most handsome man you had ever met in your life - Kim Seokjin.

The first time you saw him it had been a chance meeting, crossing each other's path when he, in a hurry, had bumped into you with such force that had completely knocked you into the ground. He then turned and helped you get up and after making sure you were okay went on on his way.

The interaction couldn't have lasted more than five minutes but it felt so much longer in your eyes. You felt hypnotized by him, losing the ability to speak while in his presence, only retrieving that ability once again when you asked one of your colleagues about him.

You never forgot him after that, seeing him even in your dreams, but it took Jin a year and a half for him to acknowledge your presence and learn your name.

You were in the courtyard, rereading 'Lolita' for what felt like the hundredth time, just passing time given that you had a free hour to do whatever, when Jin approached you, apologizing for letting you fall once again before starting a conversation.

It had been a simple conversation, asking basic questions like your name and what your major was, all of it ending with an invitation to a party that his frat house happening that Friday. You confirmed your presence without a second thought, completely failing to hide your enthusiasm.

Luckily for you, he wasn't creeped out by your reaction. Simply gave you a smile, that made you feel weak in the knees and feel an unfamiliar pang in your core, before saying the words that shot like an arrow through your heart.

"Fantastic! When you get there search for me, I really want to spend time with you."

Since you first met Jin that you had made it your mission to know every single detail about him and his life - from Jin, his family, and even his friends just so you wouldn't be caught unaware.

You were lucky that the boys at BTS were as popular around campus as a worldwide celebrity, it made obtaining information so much easier because everyone would just assume that you were one of the fangirls.

But even then, there was something that you had learned from observing him that you refused to share with anyone else.

One day, during your year apart, a colleague of yours asked you if you wanted to go with her to the BTS house since she needed to go there for something you barely paid attention to, simply saying yes and using the excuse that you had nothing better to do.

You just wanted a chance to see Jin once again.

Unfortunately for you, once you got there you found out that he was out of the house. Disappointment filled you but when you managed to get some time alone, you sneaked around until you found the promised land, Jin's room. You moved quickly, not wanting to arouse suspicion by being gone for too long.

When you left the house hidden in your bag were a pen with bite marks on the cap, a scrunched-up piece of paper, and a pair of his boxers, and hopefully, he wouldn't notice that anything was missing. You took them everywhere with you, always being extra precautions that nobody that tried to make small talk would find them.

You had also been hanging around a girl, whose name you never bother memorizing, for the simple reason that she had a lot of intel when it came to the man of your dreams.

She was also an obstacle in your future but you'd only get rid of her once she was no longer proven useful - you haven't thought about how but you knew that there couldn't be any evidence that would tie you to it. And if everything went according to plan, Jin would be yours by Saturday morning and she'd no longer be in the picture not long after.

When Friday rolled around you had been too excited to even sit still throughout the day. Of course, you dressed to impress - a black strapless dress that reached slightly above the knees and that both hugged your body and made your curves stand out, specifically your tits and ass.

As you walked towards the BTS frat house you couldn't help but feel like a predator on the hunt for a deliciously soft and cute creature that would vanquish your appetite, incredibly powerful and unstoppable.

When you entered the house, at first glance, you couldn't find him anywhere, something that made you feel anxious. You kept searching for him throughout the house, doing it a total of three times and always coming up empty.

You found Jin when you passed by the stairs and you felt your heartbreak at the sight - the man that had taken your heart by force walking up those stairs with a random girl by his side. You didn't need to be a mind-reader to know what was going to happen and you felt your heart shatter into a thousand pieces.

You felt torn between running back to your room and cry, and to barge into the room they are in and bash that bitch's face to the ground over and over again until a pool of blood surrounds you.

Shaking your head you decided that you needed to have some fresh air before you did something you'd regret and went to the kitchen to grab whatever alcohol they were serving and went outside.

Standing in a corner by your lonesome, you slowly sip on your beer as tears started to form. You couldn't believe it, you legitimate thought that by inviting you to the party that Jin had finally taken notice of you, that he had shown some interest in you.

But perhaps, you had been wrong, maybe he invited you just to be nice or just by coincidence.

You felt depressed at the thought, that Jin didn't actually cared about you the same way that you did. You loved him, you wanted to be with him, you changed yourself to what you were told he liked in someone. And in the end, you meant nothing, you were just another interchangeable person in the crowd - nothing more, nothing less.

Sniffling you throw the rest of your drink on the ground, suddenly feeling exhausted and just wanting to lay in your bed.

"That's a waste of perfectly good booze," letting out a surprised gasp you turned around and find Jin, hands in his pockets and an arched brow thrown your way. "Makes you wonder why even bother to drink it in the first place."

He takes a seat next to you, making you feel even more embarrassed, specifically after he scolded you. "W-well, I-I…"

"Why are you crying pretty girl?"

"N-Nothing," you said wiping your tears away. "Something really stupid."

"Can't be that stupid if it's making you cry," he said putting some hair strands behind your ear. "You can tell me, I won't judge."

You didn't reply. How could you tell him that he was the reason for your tears? Jin would probably think the worse of you.

Seeing your hesitation he sighs and shakes his head before continuing. "Would you feel comfortable talking in private? We can go to my room."

Before you had a chance to get over your shock and answer Jin was already getting up and taking your hand in his. You were like a lost puppy, following the first person that had given a slight bit of attention. As soon as your hand touched his it felt as if the world around you had disappeared.

The way to the room was like a blink of an eye, one second you were outside crying and the next you were in his room, being pressed against the door as Jin devoured your lips and swallowed every sound you made.

His hands keeping a firm grip on your waist while yours at the seams of his shirt, trying to signal that you wanted it out. You let out a whimper when he pulled away and simply staring at you, feeling incredibly nervous that you had done something to annoy Jin and that now he was going to kick you out.

"Get on the bed, facing the headboard," he said removing his shirt.

You moved at a fast pace, getting into position and wiggling your ass hoping to entice him even more.

A feeling of shame and embarrassment kept creeping up on the back of your head - you had wanted to lose your virginity to Jin but you had a nagging feeling that, given his reputation, he would be disappointed in you. You hoped that having slept with someone before wouldn't be a turn-off.

You felt the bed dip as he stood on his knees behind you and pulling your panties to the side, his fingers rubbing the wetness around your slit before inserting a finger inside you.
