God I love imperfect art. I love imperfect music. I love voice cracks and string noise and buzzing and gasps for breath. I love seeing the human underneath the lights and the image and the sparkle. Redacted Listeners HCs

Prepare to be sick of me, because if I don’t get this out of my system then I will literally combust.

These HCs are based off of how I have created the listeners into characters, if that makes sense! They’re my babies, my joys. I also did whoever and whatever came to mind lol

Angel:

Okay so it's kinda obvious if you look though my blog that I've been obsessed with Criminal Minds lately, however, it was stressing me tf out so I thought I'd rate the stuff I've been watching this month instead :D (I'm painfully bored rn but I wanna actually be a regular blog poster so...) Abbott Elementary - 10/10! I cannot stress how good this show is omg ik no one will listen to me but it is a MUST watch! So funny I literally cannot recommend enough. When season 3 comes out i will be READY omfg

Our Flag Means Death - 9/10 such a good show but that last ep stressed me out (again when season 2 is released I will BE THERE) also how has it taken me so long to watch this show? who tf knows

Fleabag - 11/10 EMOTIONAL MASTERPIECE I am a shell of a human after watching this show omfg. Another must watch but maybe don't if you're feeling emotionally fragile lmfao

She-Hulk - 6/10 okay so the dialogue is BAD but it rly isn't as bad as people make it out to be men just got mad bc it's about women and doesn't make them look weaker than men. It doesn't even make men look bad at all! still wasn't rly a good show but it's def not the atrocity it was made out to be

Ms. Marvel - 8/10 SO GOOD!?! Especially for a Marvel show like what??? HOWEVER I think it would've been better if it was like a 9 ep season so it could go into more detail about all the issues it brought up. Idk maybe it's just me but I feel like some of the plotlines ended quite abruptly???

* carol bradshaw under her breath in tears wrapped in one of gooses' hawaiin shirts the night he dies saying "goose you big stud, take me to bed or lose me forever" and for once not receiving an answer, just silence. her big stud is gone and she can't show him the way home anymore.

* carol laying in her hospital room with maverick asleep at her side in a chair she knows is uncomfortable and bradley safe in ice and mavs home asleep knowing he probably won't see his mom alive again, whispering her last words, “show me the way home honey"

* carol has (1) tatoo and no one knows she has it but her and nick, who went with her to get it back in virginia after they got married, a little goose on her hip, that has the words “show me the way home honey" in gooses' handwriting, she cries everytime she sees it.

* nick has a matching one he got the same day that says "hey goose, you big stud!" in carol’s handwriting. he also has a tatoo that says “mother goose" and matching ones with mav that say great balls of fire" his dream was to get one with bradley in his 18th birthday, but obviously that didn't happen and no one has to heart to tell bradley his fathers wish because they know it would break him that he never got to do it, but behind his knee and on his hip and ribcage bradley has two geese for his mom and dad, a plane (a p-51 mustang that was his and mavs dream plane when he was younger) and an ice cube, later he adds a little outline of a phoenix and a cowboy hat, he doesn't tell anyone about them until they all find out and get a little emotional about it.

* jake's laying with bradley one night and bradley's drunk and very sleepy- a mix for a very loose lipped bradshaw, tells jake how his parents had this call and response they did, and bradley heard it enough times in the short time he had both parents and tells jake how his mom called his dad a big stud, and to take her to bed or loose her forever and his dad would always reply, “show me the way home honey" and it stuck with jake how much it meant to bradley that one day, they were laying on a couch in one of the reck rooms on base and jake said quietly, “hey rooster you big stud," and bradley's head tipped up so fast that he almost gave himself whiplash to look at jake, his eyes wide and a little misty responded without really thinking, "yeah honey" jake spurred on by the response because he honestly had no idea how bradley was gonna react, cupped his cheek and smiled up at rooster, who leaned into it and said, “take me to bed or loose me forever" and rooster who had mostly forgotten he told jake about his parents little shtick leaned down and kissed jake with as much passion and heartache he could muster, hoping jake felt all of the emotion he was feeling at hearing the phrase he held so dear related back to him and said as softly as his heart felt, "show me the way home honey”

I found her three days ago, limping. Apparently she needs surgery (which is around 700 euros) or her pelvis bones might move in such a way that she can't poop. Anyway, she needs this, and i really don't have the money so i set up a donation link.

Writers of anything and everything.

Let me tell you, as an educator, an English teacher to be exact (in a state in the USA that gives no shits about our children’s education but whatever) I’m not proud of much I teach. I’m super hypercritical and I never think I do right by the kids.

But one thing I DO believe in, for students who are having to learn how to write within restrictive parameters and for any KIND of writer, is the power of word vomiting.

Most of my students come to me having already been taught “essays look like this, you need this five paragraph format, you need to format a thesis with this formula, etc.” and they’ve been convinced that whatever they type or scribble onto the page has to be right on the first try.

They freeze. They’re paralyzed. And suddenly come due date, NOTHING is written. And when you ask why, you’ll get a shrug, a mumble, “nothing sounded right.”

The thing is they don’t know what sounded right cause they were too afraid to write anything that wasn’t a finished project from the first go.

So every year I teach the concept of “word vomiting.” That there is nothing wrong or shameful about a steady stream of consciousness coming out onto the page, and maybe 3/4 will have no place. But it’s that one 1/4, that little bit you read out loud to yourself and go, “I can work with that,” then you keep that and word vomit AGAIN. And soon you have SOMETHING.

It’s not perfect on the first try, but you let your brain speak its piece before losing everything. I promise, you’ll find your nugget of gold, your shining diamond, your perfect argument, or that one line you needed for that confession scene.

today I woke up and had cold lasagna for breakfast (very Garfield core) before hurriedly doing terrible makeup (forgot to put on primer and morphe eyeshadow fallout ensued) and going to work. my boss gave me a million shifts for the break, and I went home and chilled home alone for a few hours.
