i think he’d be understanding about it. it’s not your fault — it’s just a part of your job. he’d probably bring it to you first — approaching you casually and just throwing it out… when and if you panic he’ll probably laugh it off and reassure you that it’s fine!

I think he might tease you about it every once in a while! if you have another event or show with the idol you’re being shipped with he’d tell you to go have fun with your ‘boyfriend’ for the day.

but I also think that depending on his mood he’ll become a bit distraught — maybe a bit more clingy than usual.

he has such an attitude about it… i feel like he’s not being serious — it’s actually very playful: especially when you ask him to do something and his response is telling you to ask your other boyfriend.

In reality he isn’t really hurt though. he understands it’s just a rumor — and that he’s extremely irrelevant in your person lives/relationship. he’s half asleep lying on your bed.

this got longer than i meant it to so im putting it under the cut

merlin and morgana watching arthur and gwen be The Couple in camelot. they are heartbroken, jealous, and tired- no, exhausted. they've arthur and gwen for years and fell madly and hopelessly in love with them (respectively). however, they care for the both of them and if they’re happy together then merlin and morgana will simply bite their tongue. besides, its not like their feelings are reciprocated so there’s no use in stirring up trouble.

but the pain eats away at them until they are shadows of their previous selves. merlin is quiet and demure while morgana’s lighthearted snark is growing harsher and harsher. it comes to a head when morgana makes a scathing remark to merlin about his feelings. before, her comments had been directed at others, arthur more often than not, but never toward merlin. they were in the same boat so why would morgana target him?

but she did and things get a little tense. then merlin finds a spell and shows morgana and the two of them, utterly exhausted and desperate for an end to their agony, agree to take part in the spell together. merlin concocts the potion and they both down it. the next day, merlin and morgana are as happy as can be. it was a startling 180° from the morose and downtrodden duo they had been not even twelve hours before to the happy, on cloud nine, nothing is wrong with the world people that hummed as they danced around the castle

merlin and morgana exclaim to one another how freeing it is to not feel such a heavy burden of unrequited love. they mention how easy it is to breath. how they haven’t been this happy and carefree in years. of course, like everything else, there comes a price

to be rid of feelings like love, the opposite feeling would take it’s place. a lot of people believe the opposite of love to be hate, but it is in fact indifference. it starts off slow where gwen makes inside jokes that morgana cant remember. then it moves to them having trouble remembering arthur and gwen’s names. then their memories begin to rewrite themselves to remove arthur and gwen from their minds. eventually, they roam the halls, arm in arm, without even a glance at either arthur or gwen bc they cant find it in themselves to care about these two random strangers. who would?

arthur and gwen go to gaius who has already noted their odd behaviors and has been looking into it. the rest of the knights join them in gaius’s chambers bc they had also noticed how weird they were acting. lancelot is quiet and brooding until arthur pushes him to confess what he knows.

lancelot tells them how he fell for gwen the first time he had come to camelot. she flushes and arthur seems upset but lancelot continues. he tells them all how despite, or maybe because of, his love for gwen, he let her go to be with arthur bc she was happy with him. he hesitates and gwen encourages him. lancelot mentally apologizes to his two magical friends and spills the beans. he explains how morgana has loved gwen for years and how merlin has loved arthur for years. the three of them had bonded after arthur and gwen were engaged about how much it hurt watching the person you love be happy with someone else.

slowly, he pulls out a vial filled with glittering, dark red liquid - dark like blood. he hands it to gaius and explains how they had come to him a few days ago with that and said how it would cure his pain. it would wash away his love for gwen so he wasn’t crushed under the weight of it. he says he never took it bc he didn’t think it was right but merlin and morgana had already taken it. he wasn’t sure what the side effects were going to be until he saw them that afternoon.

gaius finds what the potion is and explains how it did in fact wash away their feelings of love for arthur and gwen and with the absence of love, indifference took hold. he wasn’t sure if their missing memories could be attributed to the indifference or if the spell took to wiping the memories to prevent the love from regrowing.

arthur and gwen are quiet, guilty and upset that their closest friends were going thru such turmoil and they weren’t aware at all. leon clears his throat and asks how to cure them. gaius grimaces and read the book a bit more before responding that a counter potion would do the trick, it would neutralize the previous potion by bringing back their memories and feelings. arthur is quick to agree but gaius interrupts that once the counter potion has been administered, everything will come back at once. everything.

they question him and he explains that every memory, every word spoken, every touch, and every feeling from the past 7+ years will run through them at the same time. considering they’ve been dealing with unreciprocated love and watching the one they love be with someone else for the past couple of years, it wouldn’t be that farfetched to assume that they would look and sound like dying animals. suffice to say, it wouldn’t be pretty.

in spite of the guilt and fear in arthur, he insists that they have to bring merlin and morgana back. he doesn’t want to put them in pain but he cant just let them wipe themselves away and continue on with his life as if he didn’t just lose his best friend and sister. they spike merlin and morgana’s wine with the potion and, as gaius predicted, merlin and morgana both drop to the floor, screaming and crying in pain, pleading with anyone to make it stop and take the pain away.

gwen hides her tears in elyan’s shoulder, arthur uses his long taught skill of being an Emotionless Prick of a Prince his father taught him to not cry. the tears stay in his eyes and do not fall. a few minutes later, merlin and morgana are both catatonic on the ground, limp and staring at nothing. their breathing is slow, so slow they almost appeared dead.

lancelot and gwaine help merlin up and take him to his chambers while leon and percival do the same for morgana. no one mentions what happened and merlin and morgana stay locked in their rooms for two days before being able to get up out of bed. they aren’t back to their shadow selves from two weeks prior, nor are they the happy go lucky duo from the past few days. instead, they are slow and quiet and barely even there. they’re barely even people anymore. simply going through the motions.

Hosting parties may be your thing, or more so literally in your blood to do, it's nice to kickback and let someone else do the work for you. You, your boyfriend Leo, and a few other friends were currently visiting Percy and Annabeth in new Rome, celebrating their new engagement!

You never find yourself getting more than tipsy, so you always end up stuck being dd (designated driver). That's fine with you, your drunk friends are funny, especially your boyfriend. Leo always thinks he's soo philosophical after a couple Smirnoff shots.

Lights were flashing in a colorful array, there were balloons and streamers everywhere, and glitter covering not only the room, but all the people in said room. You and Piper were dancing together with plastic cups in hand when you notice Leo approaching. He comes from behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he covers your cheek in wet kisses.

"Loooook its my favoriteeee girlfriend EVEERRRR," Leo cheered in between kisses.

"Like you've had other girlfriends," Piper joked, making you hold in a laugh.

"Someones jealous," Leo snapped his fingers in Pipers face, making her hold her hands up in surrender. "Anywayssss!!"

He turned you around and started planting kisses all over your face, saying how much he missed you. "Not enough to pry yourself away from the alcohol I suppose," you joked.

"Ohhh come onnnn, I'm practi," hic ",pratically sober."

"I can smell the 'red, white and berry' on your breathe."

Leo waved his hand, "that's notthingg."

You chuckled, waving bye to Piper, and taking Leo's hands in yours. "It's time to head home."

"What?? But there's still more 'red, white and berry' left," he whined as you dragged him off, saying bye to people as you made your way to the door.

"I thought you were sober," you questioned sarcastically. Leo gasped, putting his free hand over his mouth. "Gotcha."

You did your best to walk Leo to the car as fast as you could, which was... well, hard. He kept getting distracted every two seconds, whether it was a painting on a wall, or him grabbing a flower from a bush and plucking it in your hair.

"You're so romantic."

"I know."

Finally, you made it to your car and were now on your way to the hotel you two were staying at. You guys made it, though in all honesty you would've made it there faster if Leo didn't make you pull over so he could piss on a tree. He's so perfect!!!

"Just a few more steps," you were struggling with the card, swiping it five times before the light finally turned green. "Come on, in we go."

"Look at you, so," hic, "flirty and shit, getting me in your hotel room."

"You bought the room."

"Your point?" He collapsed on the bed, "so comfy."

"Oh my gods Leo no you're covered in glitter," you cried out as you dragged his off to the bathroom. While you dragging him off to the bathroom, you were subtly ignoring his flirting.

"Hey why're you ignoring me," he pouted while moving in so close your eyelashes were basically touching.

"You're covered in glitter and I'm trying to get you in some comfier clothes," you kissed his nose. "And you're distracting me."

Leo huffed and started unbuttoning his shirt. "If you wanted me naked you could've said that," he shrugged like that was obvious and threw his shirt somewhere off to the side.

"Calm down Casanova," you handed Leo one of the fluffy robes hanging on the bathroom door. "Here."

"Only if you match with meeee!!" You smiled and grabbed the other robe, taking off your dress under and quickly slipping on the robe. "I can't even get a peak," he pouted again.

"You're adorable when you're drunk," you rubbed circles into his arm and plopped Leo down on your shared bed. "One sec."

You walked over to the mini fridge and grabbed some water for Leo, you thought about throwing it over to him, but he can barely catch even when sober. "Drink up."

You held up the bottle to his mouth, "you treat me so well mamas," he slurred as he took the bottle from your hand. He chugged the bottle before throwing it into the trashcan, well, he threw it at the trash can, he did in fact miss. Leo sat up with his back against the headboard as he laid you down on his chest, between his legs. "We should get married."

You opened your eyes wide, slowly looking up at your doting boyfriend. He just stared off into the distance without a thought behind his eyes. "What?"

"What? I love you, you love me, isn't that why people get married?"

"Yeah, but people aren't normally drowning in vodka when they ask," you laughed.

"Are you saying you don't want to marry me," he frowned.

"I'd marry you if you proposed with a ring pop, I'm saying ask me again when you're sober," you leaned up and kissed his lips. "Alright?"

"Sounds good to me," he cheered, then he quickly changed the subject. "I'm hungry."

"You know, me too," you agreed and sat up to find the hotel phone.

He pulled you back into his chest, making you laugh. "Nooo don't leave meee."

"I'm just reaching for the phone," you straddled him and held both his hands in one of yours. You leaned over to the nightstand to grab the phone, dialing for room service.

Not gonna lie, its really hard to order chicken tenders when your boyfriend won't stop moaning into the phone like a 14 year old boy.

woof. your recent posts really resonate with me especially now that im making more gay and trans friends, im meeting so many cool nonmonogamous trans people that seem to have casual sex with basically all their nonmonogamous trans friends and like. its almost giving me a complex where if i think someone is cool and want to be friends with them, even if im not attracted to them, i have a perception that the only way to befriend them is to pursue them sexually. or that if they dont wanna fuck me when they fuck all their other trans friends that means there's something wrong with me (again even if i don't particularly want to fuck them!)... i love being trans and poly, and i love having more trans and poly people in my life, but sometimes i think about this one reddit comment where a dude said he noticed his gay friend had way more fun at straight bars than gay bars bc at straight bars he wasn't worrying about his appearance/body image/validation/sexual prospects

yeah honestly i get this so much and it's a very dismaying swirl of emotions to have. i don't like fucking friends. at all. it actively makes me feel unsafe and like i'm only useful to someone insofar as i'm satisfying a desire for them. it makes me feel more disposable. plus im insanely jealous if i have an actual emotional connection with someone i'm fucking so i wouldn't do well in a whole poly queer mish mosh of dear devoted friends who also sometimes bang. i would be plotting the downfall of the people i was most primed to view as a threat and sowing discord between people and shit. not good.

i also think it is a little fucking concerning when people only date/have sex as their sole way to make friends, and are only friends with people they want to fuck. this tends to create a very homogenous friend group that is heavily restricted based on desirability politics. it's also just really objectifying and unsustainable.

now i must say!! this is very much in the minority of poly people -- poly people are generally fucking AMAZING at being friends because even as just their buddy they treat hanging out with the same degree of intention and care as they would going on a date. they can hang! they want to go out and do things! they're more practiced in building a new intimacy of *any* kind than most monogamous people are.

it's just that there are some weird culty up their own ass bad boundaried polycules out there, in the same way there are abusive, codependent, jealous, miserable fucking monog couples.

but even tho most queer and poly people are more ascended than that, yeah, there is a weird unsettling constant self-evaluation that can happen in spaces where fucking almost anybody is theoretically on the table. some of that is a problem in how people treat one another, and some of that is just insecurity in between your own ears.

i get it fully. im hyper conscious of myself and how i imagine im being perceived and how people are seeing me when im out in queer spaces. and most of it is me being fully insane and making myself miserable based on nothing. because literally who cares who is attracted to me in that space and who isn't??? what matters is what i want in that moment, and my behavior, which i have control over. i should be able to just float around smiling at people and dancing and chit chatting and if someone is feeling my energy and we can talk, great, if they try to make it sexual when i dont want it to, i can just walk away. like it fully does not need to be that deep.

but it's a hard internal hurdle to overcome and every time someone hits on you, ignores you, misreads your identity, etc it can be used by your mind as fodder for The Narratives and The Insecurities and make things worse and it really has to be an intentional practice to not do that to yourself.

if you can bounce along carelessly in the straight club because you're not worrying about how people see you, you can bounce along carelessly in the queer club and not worry about how people see you. literally treat queer people the same way you'd treat straight people who seem perfectly fine but are not your problem and not a focus for you. you can stop trying to mind read the intentions of every queer person and stop sizing yourself up in their eyes and not worrying about who is fucking who and who is in love with who and who is secretly jealous but pretending not to be. and just. hang out. and feel things out. and exist in your own body and pay attention to what interests you and what you are experiencing rather than how they are experiencing you.

Cmon she knows you y/n! She has to understand that there is something more important going on. You have to tell her or she is going to break up with you. You can't hide it anymore. You have been so stressed, she is going to notice even more- Ingrid answered you.

You “have a kid”. Not you, but your ex. Your ex was pregnant 1 YEAR AND A HALF AGO! Now you have a kid with 9 months . Before you both broke up, almost 2 years ago, you both were trying to have a baby but it never worked, at least you thought that. Turns out you were wrong! She was pregnant all this damn time, had a kid and didn't tell you anything till last night.

Last week after your away easy win 6-0 against Valencia she, and your baby, were in the public. She asked you to talk with her, which was clearly strange. Then she told you that the kid that was sleeping like a little angel was yours. She also told you all of a story but you just did not pay any attention to her still in shock looking at the sleepy kid in the grey pram. She told you that didn't want the baby anymore and wanted to give the kid up for adoption and wanted to inform you about it. You were arguing with her and ended up saying that you would stay with the sleepy baby. She was a bit shocked but agreed and told you you have a couple of weeks till you have to go get the baby or the baby was going to be adopted. You just agreed and said that will keep in touch.

Ona saw you both talking and, of course didnt like it, mainly cause of the love story you and your ex had. She was really jealous and didnt talked to you until you were both at home. Where you both fought because she was jealous of your ex. She clearly made some movies on her head but you didnt want to keep arguing with her, it was a long day and you were so tired, so you just slept on the couch so you could get your head cleared.

Things got a bit better but you didn't tell her, not yet. Only Mapi and Ingrid know about it, they are your best friends and you needed to talk to someone so you talked to them. They were clearly in shock when you told them that but decided to help you. That's what they are trying to do now.

“Now let's go to practice so you can clear your mind a bit, vale”?- Mapi sayed while squeezing your cheek

Practice was fine but you weren't really present there, which made your teammates worried

“You need to tell her” Mapi said in the locker room. Mapi was right. You needed to tell her.

A minute of silence was made by both of you. Both of your hearts pumping fast

“I think I can handle that '' she smacked your arm, with a soft small smile on oour face, joking at you who were in tears by now.

She looked a bit unsure because of her smile being so small, but you just hugged her in a really sad but sweet hug.

“ Hey, hey, stop crying, okay you whiny? I'm here, I'm gonna help you through this, okay mi amor?I love you!” She was still making fun of you but she was as scared as you. It was her way to defend herself, being sarcastic and funny but you loved it even if it makes never be sure if she is scared or not.

i also think the fact that i had such a stunted and isolated upbringing and now that im an adult all my friends are on atypical life paths (and honestly even my friends as a kid were like this too) means i find things that are usually very common life stages really interesting. like knowing someone who has a house and a wife and 2 kids (with that wife) and a job with a salary feels like meeting fucking paul bunyun to me. or hearing the kids i work with talk about graduating high school and going to college and being on a real path with that stuff is neat? or even sometimes knowing cis/het people who are like going thru that coming of age stuff that i never really experienced the way you see it in the movies bc of transness/queerness/neurodivergence. its like woah they said the name of the thing in the thing. do u know what i mean???

#this actually reminds me of one of the girls at work whose been here for 2 yrs so i feel like im watching her grow up #shes graduating hs this year and shes really smart and she always asks questions like this #like picking ur brain about your life like 'what did you feel like growing up how was your family' etc #its kinda cool #she already got a degree bc of dual credit courses and an internship lined up and im so proud of her #and theres another girl her same age who came to me last night telling me her situationship just broke her heart #and they were both talking all about their prom dresses and all that stuff and were so excited last month #like idk i guess i just find it endearing #i think part of it is also that while these specific paths are thought of as common/default #there really is so much variance in life and really truly so many people not on those paths for so many reasons #which actually does loop around to making it seem strange #like truly how many people do you really know anymore who stayed at 1 job until they rose the ranks #who got married and had kids with that person and now they live in a house in the suburbs with some dogs and cats #like who does that anymore #meanwhile i think its just cool seeing kids actually experiencing growing up but in retrospect and not as a peer feeling confused & jealous #like woah youre a girl buying a dress and getting her hair done and texting a boy thats so wild ive never done that #or woah youre taking courses to prepare for college and know what degree youre going for #i no longer feel resentment that i felt left behind during all that shit when i was a teenager #im just happy for them and proud of them

i do think the jealousy in school reunion is really interesting i think thats a really fun part of the doctor companion dynamic to explore, what makes me roll my eyes is the we're both in love with him "the missus and the ex" thing

but like the jealousy thing on its own? just the flipside of the making people feel special thing that we explored a bit with 12. the doctor does single people out, does make them feel special, their attention is like a fucking spotlight who would be immune to that warmth

but the other side of that then is like, was it their attention that made me special? was it their companionship that made me special? thinking of donna going travelling "it's all bus trips and guidebooks and dont drink the water and two weeks later youre back home" like sure thats comparing what the trips are like but like, that also describes sort of like, who you get to be on those trips right? a tourist vs a hero

thinking of yaz in combat magicks being like "yaz liked wearing her uniform because it marked her out as someone who belonged anywhere. ready to help, and with the right to intervene. the doctor just breezed in and made the whole universe her business, like she was born to it, and yaz longed for that confidence." thats sort of what being the doctor's plus one gives you, right? access to everywhere, without consequences, except maybe your own death but the doctor makes you feel invincible too so you dont worry about that

so sure there would be jealousy but i think making it into an ex-girlfriend kinda jealousy flattens it? "in amongst 7 billion theres someone like you" and then you get to save planets. you become a part of the doctor's hero complex. you get to see beautiful amazing things but you also get to prove yourself a hero every day. thinking of rose "the doctor showed me a better way of living your life. you dont just give up. you have the guts to do whats right when everyone else just runs away" you get to feel powerful. you get a lot of agency where in your daily life you probably dont have a lot. thats what the doctor gives to those handful of the seven billion. so what if they take it away?

thinking of clara asking "why me?" and sarah jane "did i do something wrong?" why did i get this opportunity. and why was it taken away. was it anything i did? and if it wasnt, then doesnt that undermine all that agency you made me feel like i had? can i do this on my own too? and of course lots of companions prove they can, they dont need the doctor to be who they are but idk. i think it would still be kinda insecure-making when youre still with the doctor. when youre still in the middle of it like rose in school reunion. when you dont know yet what After will look like

and this is something the fam doesnt have to deal with i think. because they came to the doctor. they werent picked, they werent offered, they asked. they dont have to wonder 'why did you pick me'. which im kinda relieved about especially thinking about yaz? imagine having to wonder 'was i a friend of convenience' on top of everything else. oof.

and another thing is that of course for the doctor the rejection hurts just as much. when a companion says no thank you, your way of life doesnt seem that fun to me (anymore)

anyway so uh tldr i guess the jealousy thing is interesting but making it a romantic jealousy is not whats interesting about it
