I gotta say it bothers me an insane amount when people refer to the Vinsmoke Brothers as "grown-ups" and say they were old enough to know what they were doing during WCI. Because despite agreeing on the fact that yes, they are abusers and Sanji has all the right in the world to not forgive them, the thought of them being irredeemable, especially emphasizing their age... Feels wrong.
People seem to think that once you turn 18 you're all grown-up and aware of your own actions, but when you've been manipulated and used and abused since the day you were born, no you are not. Abuse stops your normal growth and understanding of your surroundings and the development of a personality. And I am not saying they didn't know any better or justifying shit because they are awful people and there's no excuse for what they did to Sanji. But their whole story is about how they didn't grow up at all and are used as machines, and about how Sanji grew up too fast.
Sanji knew what torture was at the age of 8 but his brothers don't know what actual love is being 21. And I think both situations are extremely fucked up.
Referring to somebody (especially somebody who has grown up in a toxic environment) as mature and an adult (as an excuse to say they are aware of what they're doing completely) when they're 21 is just so wild to me because first, the didn't have a chance to grow up at all, and second, it's just 21 how the hell is 21 that old for you? People justifying the actions of teenagers but suddenly deeming people in their early twenties as "old enough to know better" is stupid. You don't turn 18 and suddenly become aware of good and bad out of nowhere. They were clearly caged and trapped in that cycle of abuse and didn't grow up at all.
Neither Sanji nor the viewers have to forgive the Vinsmoke brothers for their behavior at all, but you can admit somebody is redeemable and had a shitty life and they're the way they are because of their abuse without actually justifying their actions or forgiving them. Yes, fuck the Vinsmoke brothers. They're horrible people. Sanji should hate them and if the story ever makes him forgive them I will be extremely furious, I would despise that. But acting as if they were inherently evil and being +18 made them mature and emotionally aware all of a sudden is just not understanding their characters in the slightest.

Some people really saw George and Dream essentially do victim blaming and actually suggest silence is consent and actually proceeded to still support the two, huh?

my headcanon on the little incident with snape and remus and the whole werewolf thing is that Sirius didn't actually tell Snape how to get past the tree. As we know Snape was extremelly talented in legimency, so he was goating Sirius to tell him something and read his mind, Sirius was distracted so he had his defences down. When he tells James he claims it's his fault and that he told Snape because Sirius blames himself for letting Snape read his mind and not being cautious enough and protecting his mind, but he never says what really happened to anyone so Remus always thinks he willingly shared the secret when that is just not true.
James knows because he and Sirius share one brain even tho Sirius never told him, he just knows.

That chicory person you linked is not only a proud incest shipper (ew) but also amenable to fascist ideology in a way that far exceeds tastes in fiction. Of course, I don't expect better from Draco Malfoy likers. Honestly, I pity the lot of you. I can't imagine being grown adult women who are THIS bad at reading a children's series.
Unlike my boy Draco, I don't waste time engaging with people who degrade my personal character.
PS. I'm not a Draco liker, I'm a Draco lover. Do your research!

Everytime I see an Bail Organa erasure and people on tiktok said Leia should forgive Vader for blowing up her planet and giving her trauma because he is her "biological father" and "he is already going to the light side" I wanna crawl on the screen and strangle them yeah you can have fun with your headcanon about Anakin but don't forget that who ACTUALLY raising the twins .Sorry but Owen, Beru and the Organas are real parents to Luke and Leia for me

people who've never experienced abuse should not be talking about abuse victims and their behaviour, while simultaneously labelling them as an abuser. you don't understand, and you never will, what it's liked to be abused and to have to become bigger than what scares you at such a young age. your only role is to support abuse victims. don't inappropriately contribute to conversations that don't involve you. and also don't contribute to conversations if you're still stuck in the "well im an abuse victim but i didn't-!" mindset

this has been said many times by many people over the past couple of years, but im only invested in ozzie fizz and verosika. why did my brain hyperfixtate on the lust ring and literally not give a shit about anyone else? no clue! all i know is i expect the next few eps to do them dirty and i kinda wish i could adopt them as ocs at this point
Hey, I've kinda done that with a canon character too! I'd say go right ahead; those are your babies now. Canon can't touch them /lh
But yeah, your concerns are valid, Anon. I was so excited to hear Striker made a return in Western Energy only to witness such a character massacre. At this point, anyone with a S1 antagonist for a favorite might as well pray they don't show up again :")
And in regard to the "oddly specific hyperfixation regarding the show" part:
🤝
Same here, Anon. Same here

So I made a post some months back. It was my most popular post for a while, not sure why but, it was. But in light of the new chapter I wanted to bring it back up.
At the time, this post had shippy connotations and still does but, I want to talk about the bigger part of the post. I’m sure we can all agree that the picture that chapter 370 is painting is far more important than any possible canonicity of a fanon pairing. I got a lot of reblogs on this post talking what I put in tags so I’d like to extend my point.
I saw people talking about how this chapter is boring and not important and I felt disappointed… but I realized why they feel like that. Because this part of the story isn’t relatable to everyone. It’s the same reason people call Deku a bad MC. The same reason most of the western audience reduces Uraraka to just a love interest. The reason why people find it hard to empathize with and understand Touya or Bakugou. They can’t relate and are only here for the fight scenes. Which is fine. We’re all products of our environments and experiences so yea it’s okay to not find a certain plot line relatable but to say that it’s boring and “not important to the story” is saying that you’re unable to make out the bigger meaning and you’re kinda invalidating the real people that have actually experienced persecution.
The biggest conflict in mha arguably is the way people of authority treat others based on their looks, quirks, and talent. And we can take Bakugou and Hawks as examples for why mindless praise and ego strokes at such a young age can be just as bad as being looked down upon and bullied. They’re different experiences but both resulted in toxic mindsets about themselves and changed the mindsets of the people around them as well (the hero commission seeing hawks’ talent and training him to be a warrior essentially [like nagant but her experience started much older], bakugous friends and teachers praising him to the point where his ego inflated and causing the people around him, including his parents, to believe that he’s an untouchable force that never and shouldn’t need help [minus deku, which is where their conflict came from]).
The mutant rebellion is just a more obvious way of telling what’s been going on for the entire story. Which goes back to the tag in my original post:
I think the morals of the story is why it’s [mha] is more attractive towards POC, the lgbt community, those that have been looked down upon for being different, or people that have experienced having expectations they couldn’t reach being thrown on their shoulders…
What’s being explained in this chapter isn’t just some plot device. It’s a moral that’s applicable to real life and you saying it’s not important makes you look like a prick. And it’s not just an issue amongst individuals, it’s an issue highly influenced by celebrities and government officials. Making it a systemic and societal issue, just like it’s being portrayed in mha.
tl;dr
If you can’t relate to anything that’s going on or being said in the recent chapter and you don’t like it, shut the hell up and skip the chapter. Let the people who can relate gain a little bit more respect for Horikoshi for even thinking about addressing an issue this blatantly.

This and the other ask are not worth my time to answer, but I am not a pedophile. I'm sorry tumblr's got your head on backwards, most of he world can tell the difference between reality and fiction. If you find age gap ships so problematic, you better hold those same silly standards against Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Fruits Basket, etc., and a variety of other works tumblr adores. Oh, wait, you're all talk and you'll still buy merch and financially support the creators while only whining and whinging online about the aspects you dislike because you suddenly know how to consume media critically when it's official, but fail to do so when it's just online fanwork that has a much smaller audience, is tagged so you can easily block it, and the creator makes no money off of it.
(The funniest thing was when antishippers were warned about in Japanese fandoms so artists could pre-emptively block them to avoid harrassment, so a bunch of antis started hiding it from their bios, so they can still consume the art they like by those artists. Hypocrisy at its fnest!)
You can go through my whole hard drive and phone, etc., and you will find nothing, because I'm sex-repulsed due to actual real life childhood sexual abuse. I don't consume any pornography and I think the whole industry is vile and exploitative. Happy trails, anon, it's charming how you feel the need to hide behind anonymity if you're sooo certain you're in the right.
But because my phone's only been here since August on account of my old phone finally breakng so much it can't function as a phone anymore, l'll happily oblige once I move back home and have wifi and share a video of my entire phone gallery (I already deleted my hijab-less pictures), for your viewing pleasure. It's going to be boring. Hospital, medical, some bird pictures, my plushies, and tons of Bashou & Buson art. There's only around a thousand pictures in gallery.
