More Twisted Wonderland Events I Think Should Happen:
Part 1
Photo Album Event: The first years find a photo album that shows the third years' first year (technically Leona’s second year). The first years ask their third years about it. We get to see what happened in the past as they’re telling the story. I think it would lead to a lot of interesting interactions and I really want to know what everyone looked like and how they acted during their first year.
Haunted Mansion Event: This would definitely be a Halloween event based off of the rides or movies. Multiple characters come across a haunted mansion and get trapped inside. They definitely meet a few odd ghosts (and a few terrifying ones). They soon realize that they have to escape the mansion before they become trapped inside for all eternity!
Pirate Event: This would have to be Peter Pan themed or Pirates of the Caribbean themed. A bunch of students get a chance to sail around the island. One of the students among them is Kalim. Unfortunately for him Kalim gets kidnapped (again), but this time it’s by pirates. The rest of the students go on a mission to save him and Kalim gets a side story where he interacts with the pirates/tries to escape himself. I love pirates, so I think this would be a really fun even to play.
Cowboy Country Event: Realistically, this would probably based off of Toy Story because of Woody, however I would love for an event like this to be based off of Home on the Range! (Please tell me some of you remember that movie.) A bunch of characters go to a town out in Cowboy Country. One of them has to be Epel because he is very much a country boy. The NRC students learn different things, including how to ride horses. Turns out some of the cattle have gone missing and after some talk with the sheriff (and talk of a promising reward) the characters are out to catch the crook.
Dorm Swap: Crowley begins to notice that there have been a handful of student fights recently. In hopes of bringing the student body closer together he creates a Dorm Swap Program. For a temporary amount of time a random group of students is chosen to swap dorms. Some characters adapt to their situation easier than others. At the end everyone learns something about how the other dorms run.
Muppets Event: I just got this idea while watching Muppet’s Family Christmas. I just think a Muppet’s event would be cool. If we can somehow get Stitch and Tsums in Twisted Wonderland we can absolutely get Muppets. I just know Miss Piggy would love Pomefiore.
Cinderella Event: This one is pretty self indulgent, but I just had to share it. There is a party event where Yuu isn't invited due to some unavoidable reason. A fairy godmother finds a teenager who is upset because they can't go to a party. That's just begging for a fairy godmother to do something! With or without Yuu's permission, this fairy takes it upon herself to get Yuu all dressed up sends them to the party. The fairy also uses a spell that would make Yuu unrecognizable so they don't get in trouble for being there. Yuu has a lot of fun, but the next day they come to find that everyone is trying to unmask the identity of this mysterious party crasher. Yuu has to keep it a secret to avoid getting into trouble, but some of these people are making it so difficult.

Because I'm sad tonight just end me: how long does eventually live Lexa after getting married to Clarke?
Challenge accepted?
They get married in late August, and Clarke lays her to rest at the very beginning of the following spring in March. Which was longer than any of the doctors had imagined possible, but Lexa seemed pretty determined to spend at least one Christmas and Valentine's day together 😔.
They go apple picking in the fall and carve pumpkins for the window display at the shop and take a week long road trip along the coast to see all the fiery range of foliage. They dress up as Peter Pan and an extremely appreciated sluttier version of Wendy for Halloween just to get tipsy on hard apple cider on the front porch while handing out candy to the neighborhood kids.
For Christmas they make new stockings together and watch White Christmas and Meet Me in St. Louis and every other classic holiday movie that is vaguely musical on repeat just so Clarke can make Lexa sing a long to every song. They exchange gifts and bake cookies that Lexa doesn't really have the appitite to eat, but that's alright. It's more just to make the memories together anyway. Clarke manages to talk Lexa into making a little pair of sapphic snow angels in the yard, aaaand then spends the rest of the evening warming a very shivery Lexa back up by the Griffin's home fire 🤦🏼‍♀️
For Valentine's Lexa employs Abby and Gus of all people to go to the store in the city for her to get bags of tiny chocolates and those little cards kids give each other in grade school. 365 little valentines to be exact, and yes she makes her father count them for her - twice -, and she writes loving notes and sweet words of devotion for her wife. She puts them in box along with a thick stack of letters wrapped in a satin bow, each labeled with a day or an age or a big life event written in her elegant script across the top of the envelope. And she makes Clarke sit with her on the bed because she doesn't have a lot of leftover strength by then, and she explains her thoughts with her gift.
She explains that she knows the next year will probably get pretty dark at times. But that even on the bad days, when everything feels hopeless, and ugly, and bitter, Clarke will still always deserve to enjoy the small things in life. To take at least one moment each day and allow herself to enjoy the little things that make living just a little bit sweeter. And she explains that while maybe the letters feel a tiny bit morbid ("I really went back and forth on these. I didn't want it to feel like I was talking to you from beyond the grave 🤨" as Lexa puts it very seriously), they're meant to be little reminders that no matter what happens, Lexa is right there with her every step of the way. She says her favorite thing in the world has always been books (yes yes besides Clarke of course 😏🙄 "I can't believe I agreed to marry you. You're so full of yourself") because she believes something magical happens in the process of putting words on pages. That she believes when you take the time to put down your thoughts and your feelings onto paper, you leave a little piece of your soul scattered among the words. And now she knows Clarke will have these pieces of her, along with all her support and all of her love. And that on the big days of Clarke's future... like her graduation, or getting her dream job... getting remarried, maybe one day having kids... That should Clarke ever need or want to hear how proud she is of her, everything Lexa feels for her is just an envelope away.
Suffice it to say, it's a very love filled seven months...

Hey Everyone !!
Some quick updates! I have decided that our anniversary event will take place as part of our October/ Halloween event, rather than on our actual 2-year anniversary this month (wild, eh?), so we can make it a giant event and it will give everyone some time to prepare. I have plot drop plans as part of it. (And the plot recap will come before this so it gives me more time to plan as well).
I am slowly working my way through more bios at the moment. I have tomorrow off, and will continue working on them. I added The Rescuers to the list, alongside the drafted Peter Pan and Jungle Book characters.
That being said, for the next month or so, I am going to have to put a temporary ban on faceclaim changes for skeleton bios when they are being applied for. (You may still change your OCs faceclaims if you see fit). I work hard on casting for the bios I write, and lately I have had to change a bio graphic every time someone applies and it’s not making me feel great about my choices. It’s particularly grating if I change a faceclaim to then have to change it back a month later due to ghosting or the character being dropped early on. I would just like a month or two to not have to open photoshop multiple times once I’ve spent hours searching for faceclaims and completed a batch. If, for whatever reason I choose a faceclaim for a character, you try that faceclaim out and then realise the FC or resources just aren’t working, then I’m happy to go along with the change in that circumstance. I may implement a rule change in the future about changing faceclaims after a certain amount of time after applying, but I’m undecided as yet. This is also just to give me some piece of mind that I have more faceclaims to draw from when writing bios too (and faceclaims can always be suggested). I will re-open the option by the end of October, after our big event and plot drop.

2024 Game Clear #8 Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Tumblr media
Peter failed to load in at one point and turned into a white cube
Tumblr media
I hope white cube Spider-Man is in spider-verse 3
(Rambly spoilers thoughts under the cut)
The first Insomniac Spider-Man is one of my favorite games, one of my favorite piece of media, did Spider-man 2 top it? well... no but I still had a damn good time with it and I didn't expect it to since the first game was my absolute ideal of a Spider-Man game & story due to this kind of being the darker middle chapter & the baggage of what it's adapting and pulling from pushes it away from that ideal but it's still a damn fine game.
Also while the first game was the ultimate Spider-Man game that replaced all other Spider-Man games, this is the ultimate Spider-man game that replaces all other symbiote games, throw out your copy of web of shadows with it's unintentionally hilarious moonlight sonata intro you don't need it because this game is literally web of shadows 2 at the end.
Maybe don't throw out your copy of Ultimate Spider-Man yet since it's still the place for a full playable Venom experience but Venom is playable for a second and that really cool
actual maybe don't throw out any games that seems wasteful
Tumblr media
So this is my first real next gen game and damn stuff like the opening sandman fight where you get thrown across the city or even non action scene stuff where the city will pan from miles to peter on the other side of the east river was wild to me. I don't think the fact I can just click on at any point on the map and instantly travel there without a loadscreen will ever feel naturally to me genuinely feels like black magic.
Here a bulleted list of random smaller random thoughts
Norman begging Harry to stop during the venom section was heartbreaking
So does Peter just have a symbiote forever now? I guess we'll probably deal with that in the DLC that definitely
I kinda wish Kraven didn't get what he wanted, that the spiders were able to take him down by the book without the symbiote's help but that venom fight in time square is great so eh
I loved Miles helping Peter regain control that fight is amazing also that they call each other Spider-Man
Being able to find the other Spider-Man or Wraith already fighting a crime is so cool
Kraven really cleaned house huh RIP Toomes and Herman i'm sure someone else will take and use your stuff RIP Gargan & Max I really liked your designs and sad to see you go
It's cool that the Donny Cates Venom stuff is kinda woven into the subtext of the symbiote designs
That Spider-Verse cameo! what the heck!
Wish you could change Peter tendrils back to black especially since you get the classic black suit so late in the game
I hope they don't do Superior for the next game, it is different but I don't want to see Peter not acting like himself again so quickly after doing the black suit stuff. I guess you could do it with Miles but im not crazy about that either
No fear, "They might do hulk goblin instead of glider flying pumpkin throwing Halloween man goblin because it's more video gamey", One Fear
Actually I've never really thought about how this Peter is framed as being a experienced and well oiled Spider-Man but Fisk aside he's never really fought any of his A-lister before the events of the games, Vulture could very well been one of his bigger enemies and that kinda cool to think about
Still miss Peter's old face

[ad_1] Like quite a lot of children, I liked every little thing about Halloween — a lot in order that I used to journey to a faraway pal’s Halloween-obsessed neighborhood so I might rejoice the vacation in the easiest way doable. I left with virtually sufficient sweet to final me till the next Oct. 31.So think about my shock, some 50 or so years later, once I obtained an electronic mail from a gourmet-food firm promoting a Halloween sale on caviar. Not chocolate bars. Not peanut-butter cups. However good ol’ fish eggs. Simply the factor each red-blooded American child craves. After all, this wasn’t a sale geared toward youngsters. Slightly, it was all concerning the adults. Or, because the retailer marketed in its Halloween promotion, “whether or not you’re internet hosting a decadent brunch, a chillingly pleasant gathering, or an elegantly haunting dinner, our caviar assortment guarantees so as to add an air of luxurious to your festivities.” Then once more, there’s nothing actually stunning right here. Lately, Halloween has morphed extra right into a day for grown-up enjoyable. Go searching and also you’ll discover every little thing from wineries hosting Halloween events — as in you trick-or-treat your approach into receiving glass after glass — to fast-food chains hawking Halloween meal buckets. And let’s not overlook all these costume contests at the office. Talking of getting dressed up, right here’s a telling statistic: The National Retail Federation reports that there’s extra spent lately on grownup Halloween costumes ($2 billion) than on youngsters’s ones ($1.4 billion). “This 12 months, individuals are anticipated to spend extra on grownup Halloween costumes than on youngsters’s ones.” The spending on grownup enjoyable is clearly contributing to the vacation turning into greater than ever. The NRF says the Halloween outlay will attain an all-time excessive of $12.2 billion this 12 months, surpassing final 12 months’s file mark of $10.6 billion. Is it simply me, or is there one thing unhappy about all this Halloween hoopla, particularly on the grownup entrance? It’s just like the that means of the vacation — nicely, not less than the kid-oriented that means in mid-20th Century America — has been negated and now it’s simply an excuse for grown-ups to social gathering, get drunk and possibly fill themselves up on caviar. Till a couple of years in the past, I believed the definition of grownup Halloween was raiding your youngsters’s pile of sweet. Numerous causes are provided from these within the learn about how and why this shift within the vacation has occurred. Start with the truth that Halloween’s roots had been way more significant — the occasion reportedly began as a pagan religious celebration when Celtic individuals in Europe welcomed the harvest on the finish of summer season. It has gone by numerous modifications over time. The newest incarnation will be the most unseemly. However some additionally say what we’re seeing at this time displays a bent amongst Technology Zers and millennials to carry on to their childhood for so long as doable. It ties in with what’s been referred to as Peter Pan Syndrome — or the emerging adulthood section. And it speaks to the truth that this youthful cohort finds it more and more tough to get forward as grown-ups, particularly given the prices concerned: Take into consideration how way more tough it's to purchase a house now versus a long time in the past. Linus Owens, an affiliate professor at Middlebury Faculty who’s explored Halloween’s evolution, additionally makes the case that youthful individuals at this time usually really feel their creativity is being stifled at work. Halloween provides them a day to “specific who they're,” he argues. Scientific psychologist Dr. Kelsey Latimer provides to that, saying that Gen Zers and millennials “concentrate on working to dwell, not dwelling to work.” Which means they're “extra prone to need to interact in events and social occasions.
” Halloween is an ideal platform in that regard. “Yet one more occasion on the calendar has simply change into a chance to promote, promote, promote.” Regardless of the motive, it’s clear that after retailers and others able to achieve financially sensed the shift, they jumped on the grown-up Halloween bandwagon. It’s arguably no completely different from how different holidays have change into overly commercialized — simply one other occasion on the calendar that has change into a chance to promote, promote, promote. “It’s compulsory advertising,” says Craig Agranoff, a veteran advertising skilled based mostly in Boca Raton, Fla. Nonetheless, at its worst, it may be plain tactless: Think about the best way that Juneteenth, our latest federal vacation and one which commemorates the top of slavery within the U.S., turned into a sales event. Walmart WMT, +1.15% even launched a Juneteenth-themed ice cream, solely to face a backlash. With Halloween, one may say there’s no such factor as going too far. The vacation is about taking issues to the acute, in any case, so why not let the grown-ups be part of within the spook-filled merriment? Particularly at a second after we all might use some diversion, some say. “Throughout a time of rampant inflation and financial uncertainty, a enjoyable and comparatively low-cost celebration can relieve stress for adults,” says Scott Lieberman, founding father of the Landing Cash monetary web site. My counterargument is that when the adults win, the kids lose. That's, after we co-opt the enjoyable, we spoil it — not less than slightly bit. “The Halloween of my childhood didn’t have Zombie pub crawls (belief me, they’re a factor). ” I consider the neighbors I as soon as knew who turned their driveway into an open-air bar come Halloween. The thought was that as mother and father introduced their children to the home for trick-or-treating, they may get their very own “deal with” as nicely. However in some way, it appeared like the youngsters had been forgotten within the combine and oldsters had been tempted to linger on the home far too lengthy and have one other cocktail. Past that instance, it’s extra a normal challenge of innocence misplaced. The Halloween of my childhood didn’t have Zombie pub crawls (belief me, they’re a thing). It simply had children sporting easy, usually do-it-yourself costumes wandering by the neighborhood in quest of that one home that gave out full-size sweet bars. There was nonetheless cash to be made off the vacation, for positive, however not in a approach that steered rampant, adult-oriented commercialism. Heck, you may nonetheless spend the night ready for the Nice Pumpkin, as within the legendary determine from the Peanuts classic television special. That present captures the spirit of Halloween as I want to recollect it — with out a point out of caviar gross sales. Plus, as Agranoff jogged my memory, grown-ups have already got sufficient enjoyable on this world: “The adults have pickleball,” he says. “Let the youngsters have some issues.” I’d put Halloween on the high of that record. Kingdom Hearts 1: Review
I never had the privilege of beating this game until this year. (And even then, I somewhat wasn't the one to beat it).
I don't remember how I acquired it, but as a child, I somehow got my hands on a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1 on the PS2. I believe someone either gave it to me of their own free will or let me borrow it but forgot to ask for it back. Either way, I played Kingdom Hearts every now and then as a kid, but I never reached far. After the tutorial and the first island, I don't think I ever really got past the first level. I was too young and inexperienced to find a way to surpass one of the first boss fights in the game. But, a few years ago, I acquired the "The Story so Far" Kingdom Hearts collection, acquiring every game out at the time, (minus Kingdom Hearts 3). After putting significant time into Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, I decided to take a crack once more at the first Kingdom Hearts game for the first time in over a decade. I managed to clear multiple levels with varying degrees of ease until I got stuck on that big demon bitch from Fantasia. (Chernabog). I died too many times, and rage quitted, not picking up the game for at least a year. I picked up from where I left off that year and managed to beat him after dying several other times but hit a wall once again. The final boss, Ansem, and his different variations and boss forms are ridiculous. First, you have to fight Ansem on the island from the beginning of the game alongside Goofy and Donald. It was an egregiously taxing endeavor, but it's absolutely doable. But after beating him, you have to fight him again without Goofy and Donald, and I just can not. Those animals were carrying me the first go around, and without them I am incapable. Shoutout to my friend who managed to beat his ass for me after grinding a collective few hours, basically carrying me to the finish line.
There's no way I could have beaten Ansem the next few times without help. But now that it's finished on my account, let's talk about it.
The plot of the Kingdom Hearts franchise is incredibly convoluted and hard to follow, but the first game's story is, mercifully, the easiest and most comprehensible without taking into account events from other games. You play a fourteen-year-old boy named Sora after his home is destroyed by dastardly creatures called the Heartless. Along the journey, Sora tries to restore his world and reunite with his friends, while running into well-known and beloved Disney characters, as well as some Final Fantasy characters. Donald Duck and Goofy join him along the way as you jump into worlds from popular Disney films. Releasing initially in America on September 17, 2002, on the PS2, the game still doesn't look too bad, graphics-wise, for being over twenty years old.
Part of the charm in Kingdom Hearts stems from how likable and cutesy our protagonist Sora is as he interacts with iconic Disney princesses, villains, and everyone in between. There's Atlantica from The Little Mermaid, Neverland from Peter Pan, Halloween Town from Nightmare Before Christmas, Agrabah from Aladdin, and other well-known worlds, plus some original places. From a design perspective, roaming around these popular fictional worlds feels akin to watching the movies once more. Roaming around the bizarre world of Wonderland is none too different from Alice's own escapades in the original film. What's even more remarkable is how the team behind the game, the minds at Square Enix, managed to get most of the original voice actors and actresses to reprise the roles of their esteemed characters for the game. It helps add authenticity while you're combatting the Heartless. (Except they couldn't get Robin Williams to reprise as Genie in Agrabah, opting for Dan Castlellaneta to voice him instead, which is fine, but all I hear is Homer Simpson whenever Genie talks). Some levels are more inspiring and fun than others, but most are a riot to traverse through. I love how depending on the world, you can bring along a character to help you fight enemies. When you're in Deep Jungle, the same jungle from the film Tarzan, you can replace Donald or Goofy and have Tarzan accompany you in the fight if you please. I wish they could tag along instead, rather than outright replace Donald or Goofy but I appreciate that they can even tag along with you, to begin with...
Enemies' designs are another plus, as I love how the Heartless looks will vary in each world. Adopting spooky looks to fit the vibe of Halloween Town, fish, and merman looks in Atlantica, and animals like monkeys in Deep Jungle are what make the first game so unique from most other action RPGs. The gameplay in KH1 is still fun. The weapon Sora uses, a Keyblade, has weight to it as you smack around bosses and enemies alike. Dodging and deflecting attacks, casting spells, and swinging your blade is an uproariously satisfactory feeling that was only improved in future games like Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2.
There are a few gripes I have with the game, however. Some levels are nowhere near as fun to go through, lacking in care as Halloween Town or Wonderland. I like that the Pinocchio representation is that you go inside the whale Monstro rather than a town, and I enjoy the flash of colors within the massive whale as you travel throughout his body. But the maze-like structure of the world gets tiresome real quick as you struggle to go where you need. Neverland is incredibly limited as you can only head toward Captain Hook's ship or Big Ben, which are small in scale.
And Tarzan's Deep Jungle just fucking sucks.
Besides a few poor-level designs, my other gripe stems from the sudden uptick in difficulty within the last hour or two. I already mentioned Chernabog and Ansem, but besides them, the final leg of the game becomes unnecessarily more difficult and rage-inducing. It's a steep contrast from the rest of the game. Honestly, most of the game is durable, but it's just right at the end when it becomes ridiculously unfair.
Story-wise, it's just cheesy goodness. That's all I'll say. It's a blast to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy interact with classic Disney and game characters. The game isn't perfect, but it's fun and still holds up twenty years later. I'm glad I got to see through to the end, and I'm looking forward to going through the rest of the franchise, the game is greeaaaaaat. 4/5.

IDRISNNET'S HALLOWEEN EVENT - week 1: free choice!
SHIP: Thomas x Alastair
TROPES: Meet cute, College/University AU
WORDS: 2 383
“I hate Halloween.”
“Why? It's fun!”
Thomas sighed. “Halloween is just a rootless American evening that is created not to honor any ancient holidays (not really and you know it) but to take people's money through corporations that create costumes and candy that benefit - guess who! - the American economy and do local businesses dirty.”
Thomas, Matthew and Christopher were at James' house, waiting for him to bring something to drink.
“The hell?” Matthew said, blinking at him.
Thomas shrugged, crossing legs on the sofa.
“So,” Christopher said, raising his head from his homework. “You hate Halloween because it's American?”
Thomas groaned. “This is all you heard?”
“It's all that mattered,” he said. Thomas shook his head.
“Kit,” Matthew said. “What do you think?”
Christopher shrugged. “I don't see the point of it. I understand it's supposed to be fun. But candy and dressing up aren't my cup of tea.”
“I'll jump off a cliff,“ Matthew murmured.
“Hey,” James entered the room, bringing a few bottles of water. “Why will you jump off a cliff?”
“Jamie,” Matthew said. “Please tell me you like Halloween.”
James shrugged. “Yeah, sure.”
Matthew beamed. “Finally! I knew my best friend wouldn't disappoint me!”
James curiously looked at the Merry Thieves. “Did I miss something?”
“We were talking about some Halloween party at the Bridgestock's house tonight and Matthew wants us to go,” Thomas said.
“And then Thomas revealed he has no soul,” Matthew said with a serious expression.
A pillow hit him in the face.
In the end, they went. Matthew had his way of making people do things. It also helped that Lucie convinced Thomas it wouldn't be completely awful.
She was dressed as Harley Quinn. She was still doing her makeup when they came but the costume was on. Her hair wasn’t blonde but the haircut was accurate.
Matthew was excited to make them dress in costumes. He himself was Dorian Grey. Lucie helped him with his make up for it. James was dressed as Peter Pan. Green suited him but he refused to wear a wig and make up. Christopher was convinced to be Einstein. He even put on the wig. He didn't look too happy though. He said Einstein is a physicist and Kit was a chemist. But he admitted he liked being in a laboratory apron.
Thomas' costume was simpler. No makeup (even though Lucie very much wanted to). Just the Joker costume and a mask with his makeup (that Thomas took off fast anyway).
They all went to the party, Matthew looking smug he had made them go. For a while they were together. They danced for a while, then went to drink something.
At some point Christopher disappeared. James went to the bathroom. Matthew dragged him to a quieter room, with a few people on the floor, playing "True or Dare". Matthew, and even James when he came back, joined the game. Thomas quietly left the room with the excuse he'd look for Christopher.
He returned to the main room, walking through the crowd. The music was so loud he couldn't hear his own thoughts.
He spotted Christopher through the window. He was in the backyard, sitting next to Grace Cartwright. She was dressed as a ghost - white dress, remaining a wedding one, but in gothic style with black elements. Her whole face looked so beautiful but cold as a marble.
But then she said something and Christopher laughed, tilting his head back. Grace also smiled.
Thomas knew there was something between her and James that ended up badly but he never shared with them. But someone who made his cousin laugh like this couldn't be that bad.
Thomas decided not to bother them. He continued past the window, towards the stairs. He saw some people smoking. Or rather smelled it. Some drunk girl dressed like a witch waved at Thomas with a big smile. He waved back.
As he was approaching the second floor by the stairs, the party became quieter. The music wasn't so loud here and it had fewer people. Thomas was passing by rooms from which were coming out suspicious noises. He hurried to leave them behind.
He ended up at the end of the corridor. One door was ajar. He couldn't hear anything from inside. He pushed it aside, stepping in. It was unexpectedly chilly. The balcony door was open. He could see a person sitting on the floor, smoking. He approached them, trying to make some noise to not startle them. They had an earphone in one ear. Thomas could hear the music.
“Hey, um,” he said. “Is it okay if I stay here for a while? I think this is one of the few rooms that isn't busy with… two people.”
“Sure,” the person, who turned out to be a guy, said. “I needed to escape myself.”
He didn't have a complicated costume either. He was wearing a skeleton tuxedo with a skull mask that covered half of his face. Thomas guessed he hadn't removed it because of the beautiful node on his nape.
As Thomas sat next to him, he put out the cigarette. But when he started to stop his music, Thomas said, “No need to stop it. I love this song.”
“Oh,” he blinked at him. Then smiled. “Not many people know Freddie Mercury's solo stuff. I'm impressed.”
Thomas laughed. “Don't be. I just like the 80s. The golden era of music.”
“Couldn't agree more,” the boy smiled. “Even though I think I prefer the 70s.”
“Why?” Thomas asked, curious.
“Elton John.”
Thomas couldn't help a laugh. “Fair enough.”
Thomas really wished he had brought his rainbow pin at this party. But of course he would talk with some cool guy about queer musicians at some stupid Halloween party without it.
“Are you here alone?” Thomas asked. At least he could know if the guy was single or not.
“Technically, no,” he said. Thomas' heart dropped in his stomach. “I came with my friends. But they're all too busy hooking up with somebody,” he snorted. “So I just came here to listen to some music instead of that loud trash.”
Thomas laughed again, relieved. “I feel you.”
He handed Thomas the other earphone. “Do you want to listen too?”
Thomas took it and put it on. Freddie Mercury's voice filled his head, clear and beautiful. The volume wasn't too loud so they could talk and listen to it at the same time.
Maybe this Halloween party wasn't that bad.
Alastair's heart was going to jump out of his chest. The guy's laugh was still ringing in his ears.
“I'm Thomas, by the way,” he said. “Nice to meet you.”
“Alastair,” they shook hands and Alastair smiled. “Nice to meet you too. It's good to know there are men of culture here.”
The guy - Thomas - smiled again. It was a nice sight.
“How about you?” Alastair said. “Are you here alone?”
“I also came with friends. But…” he made a face. “I'm in a similar situation.”
“Well,” Alastair said and looked at the sky. “It's good we found each other then.”
“Yep,” Thomas said. “Or else I would have been sitting on the corner, waiting for one of my friends to get drunk so I can take him home.”
Alastair laughed. “Good thing my friends don't get drunk.”
“I don't believe you. Everyone who isn't religious or in good health, gets drunk at these parties. And there is, like, ten percent of good people like ourselves who can have fun without alcohol.”
“I disagree,” Alastair raised an eyebrow. “You know what? Let's bet.”
“Okay,” Thomas said with a laugh. “What is the bet?”
“If you lose,” Alastair said. “You owe me ten bucks.”
“And if you lose,” Thomas said with sparkling eyes. “You owe ten bucks and a date.”
Alastair's heart jumped. He grinned. “Deal.”
They heard a noise from the backyard in front of them. Alastair couldn’t see what the drama was about but there were quite a few people.
“I have to go,” Thomas said and got up. He was looking at someone in the backyard.
“Oh,” Alastair spared him a glance. “Okay.”
“I'm so sorry,” he said. “I just saw one of my friends is drunk as fuck and he gets really... loud when he's like this.”
“It’s alright,” Alastair grinned.
Thomas was almost at the door when he turned back and said, walking back. “Find me some time in the faculty of history!” then, almost running, disappeared from Alastair’s view.
Alastair stayed on the balcony a little longer. The group of people in the yard were gone by a few minutes and it was quiet again.
Alastair decided it's time to find his friends. He got up slowly, putting out the cigarette he had lit after Thomas left. To be honest, he was kind of pissed at them. It was Kamala that insisted they dress up and Jesse to come here as a group. Yet at the end of the evening they were all in different places in the house, talking with other people.
He left the room, closing the door after himself. Now it was definitely less crowded. The music was quieter too. As he descended the stairs, he looked around. The last remaining people were either sleeping on the floor or some random objects that could be laid on. A few were smoking near the windows and some people that seemed very much drunk were dancing.
He spotted Grace close to the back door, smoking. He went to her, calling her name. She turned to him and smiled a little. He sat next to him and she handed him her cigarette. He took of his mask and took the cigarette.
“Where have you been?” she said.
“Well,” Alastair said, exhaling the cloud of smoke. “I was trying not to die of social interaction after all my best friends left me alone.”
Grace rolled her eyes. “You always have to be dramatic, don't you?”
“Only when it's needed,” Alastair grinned. “Where are Jesse and Kamala?”
“I'm pretty sure Kamala is hooking up with somebody. And by "somebody" I mean Anna,” Alastair snorted. Every damn time. “And I think Jesse went somewhere.”
Alastair eyed her. “He went somewhere?”
Grace shrugged. Anyone else would say she didn't care. But Alastair could see the tension in her shoulders.
He continued to stare at her. Grace exhaled and frustrated said “He left with Lucie Herondale.”
“Oh,” Alastair said.
“Don't "oh" me,” Grave said, annoyed. “I'm fine. I'm just pissed he still tries to hide it from us. Like he can keep a secret,” she snorted.
“Give him a break,” Alastair said. “He's only worried you would be upset he's dating your ex's sister.”
At the time when Grace dated James, she had discovered her aro-spec identity. She had a hard time with it - she didn't want to hurt James but also didn't want to pretend. Alastair didn't know the whole story - he guessed Jesse did - but the things between them had become ugly. Finally they broke up but Grace never talked about what exactly happened between them.
“I know,” Grace said, staring at her cigarette. “I just… I feel like he doesn't trust me.”
“Bullshit,” Alastair said immediately. “If he trusts anyone in this world, it's you. You know it.”
“I suppose,” Grace said hesitantly. She eyed him. “But seriously, what have you been doing the whole time?”
“You can't mind your own business, can you, Cartwright?”
“Nope.”
Alastair sighed. “I was in one of the rooms upstairs. I… met someone.”
Grace's eyes widened. “And you survived the social interaction?!”
“Shut up,” Alastair rolled his eyes.
“Come on,” she said. “Spill.”
“Okay, okay… his name is Thomas. And he's bloody tall.”
“Promising beginning,” Grace laughed.
“Seriously though,” Alastair said, a small smile on his face. “He's cool. We talked about queer musicians. Oh my god, Grace, he's an actual fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury. Not like the people who know their three greatest hits and claim to be the biggest fans. He knows their music. It was awesome.”
Alastair continued to talk a bit more. Grace was just listening with a smile on her lips.
“Oh, and a question,” Alastair said at some point. “Do most people at college parties get drunk?”
Grace stared at him.
“What?”
“Alastair,” she said. “This is the point of college parties.”
He frowned at her. “No, it’s not. The point is to have fun. Dance and all that shit.”
“Yeah,” Grace said, putting out the cigarette. She didn't light another one. “But for most people fun at these parties means hooks up, alcohol and then dancing.”
“Damn.”
“You're an idiot,” Grace said.
“Maybe,” Alastair said with a sly smile. “But I'm an idiot with a date.”
Grace arched an eyebrow. “What?”
“Thomas and I made a bet,” he explained. “If I win, he owes me ten bucks. If he wins, I owe him ten bucks and a date. And I lost.”
Grace shook her head with a smile.
“So,” Alastair said after a while. “Who was this dude with the glasses you were talking with?”
“Oh, no. No, no, no,” she said. “We are not talking about this. All I know is that he's demi and he knows I'm aroflux but we are not talking about him. Because if we do, you'll tell Kamala, she will tell Jesse and y'all are going to obsess over him.”
“Come on,” Alastair grinned, repeating the same thing she said to him. “Spill.”
Grace gave him a dirty look. “Fuck you.”
Alastair raised hands in the air like he was surrendering.
“Okay, okay.” Grace was right. They were going to obsess over him. But only because Grace sometimes dated assholes and with time they have become overprotective. They wanted only the best for her
Grace exhaled. “Thank you.”
After a few seconds of silence Alastair whispered. “What faculty is he in though?”
Grace got up immediately. “Nope. I'm going to look for Anna, you stay here and be happy about your date.”
Alastair grinned looking after her. She disappeared from sight, probably walking towards Kamala's room. He looked at the yard again, still holding his skull mask. They had a lot to clean up. The whole house was a mess and they had only two days before Kamala's parents came back. But he couldn't take the smile off his face.

The Chocobros and Their Halloween Costumes
Alright everyone, I decided that now that I’m back on my shit I’ll start posting headcanons again. Not sure how often this will occur BUT in the spirit of Halloween I decided it was necessary. I did this pretty quick so it’s not my best work but I hope you ✨ enjoy ✨
Noctis: You know our favorite emo boi loves Halloween so he’s spent literal hours on his costume, and if you think for one second he’s not dressing up as Jack Skellington at some point you are wrong my friend. From the face makeup to the outfit, his look is *on point*
Prompto: Isn’t big on horror but enjoys Halloween enough to dress up every year. He’s either super *extra* with his costume or super basic, there is no in between. Will wear a handcrafted robot costume one year and a simple cat the next.
Ignis: Between helping Noctis decorate his apartment and making his costume, Ignis has zero patience to make anything for himself. The most he’s dressed up in recent years is the last minute Ebony Coffee costume he picked up at the drug store 3 years prior.
Gladiolus: Almost ALWAYS has a matching costume with Iris; if she wants to go as Peter Pan and tinker Bell they go as Peter Pan and tinker Bell. If she wants Gladio to be Tinker Bell, well, he’s Tinker Bell. In the event he isn’t dressing up with Iris he will *always* go as a Viking (or something else that gives him an excuse to carry around a prop weapon)

Glorious Masquerade has got to be my favorite TWST event!!!! Love to see people hype it up!!! It just felt so extravagant and huge… literally EVERY character was serving. Idia in particular 👀 also I think part of why it was so good had to do with the timing, the fact it came right before chapter 7 and the contests of the event were actually REALLY pertinent in the main story…
I kinda doubt this year’s halloween event will be AS impressive but I hope it comes close to it. It has the potential!! But GM is so iconic. I’m really looking forward to the Pinocchio theme. Just think of Grim’s new little outfit 🥺
No cause I'm sure they timed the first release of book 7 right after masquerade so the event could foreshadow the main story, like how Rollo says Malleus is a villain that will bring calamity (I don't remember the exact words but it was something like that lol)
THIS EVENT WAS MOSTLY TAILORED TO MALLEUS AND IDIA AND IT SHOWS, I remember that before Rollo's motive was revealed, I was theorizing if Rollo was also inspired on musical-Frollo and not just the dsny Frollo, where he has a deceased younger brother. And I was like ''if that's the case, it makes even more sense why Idia would be the SSR; he's the only one who can trully relate and understand Rollo's pain'' AND I WAS RIGHT 👏👏👏 LET ME COOK
For that reason is why I think GloMas wouldn't work if it had a sequel like the first halloween event of it were a if/remix version like fairy gala but with the other rest of the cast; Malleus is simply too crucial for this event, Rollo's motive wouldn't make sense without him. I admit I'm a bit sad that we won't see the other boys in the masquerade outfits and them interacting with Rollo (I wanted to see Ace clown on Rollo </3) but honestly this is for the best... They're getting an entire new event with new characters just for themselves!! I'd say this is a better outcome than just repeating GloMas all over again with the other half of the cast, it just wouldn't be impactful.
I'm not emotionally attached to Pinnocchio as I am with THoND but I'm excited because this movie is DARK AS HELL, and it's PERFECT for a halloween event. Also I've been waiting years for new beastmen characters and we are getting a fOX BOY RIGHT OFF THE BAT....GRRRRRrrRR *foams at the mouth*
I can't wait for the trailer of the new event, if they really are wearing carnival inspired outfits I'm gonna be BALLISTIC!!! And let's hope every new halloween event from now on will be based in a dsny movie with new guest characters every time 😳 I'm hoping for a Peter Pan event next cause WE GOTTA SEE TWST CAPTAIN HOOK?!?!?
And yes, Grimmy's little outfit 🙏maybe his outfit will be similar to pinocchio's in those little italian clothes ORRR maybe jiminy cricket's black tailcoat 🥺🥺

Gonna talk about Disney (and by ext pixar) IP in Japan. mainly bc i’ve brought this up several times by now and i suppose you deserve an explanation
IP in Japan is technically a grey area. “What do you mean?”
What I mean is the Doujin works.
Official Doujin works are those that are commissioned or approved by the company.
Unofficial are those you’d find at an anime convention and online on sites like Pixiv and elsewhere.
The first group is entertainment meaning games, musicals, songs events and park miscellaneous  .
Most well known franchise with Disney outside of Disney would be Kingdom Hearts* albeit recently lolol
Behind this imo the second best known literature would be the manga Princess Kirara.
Both are self inserts but self inserts that interrupt the plots and have similar goal. Except KH eventually jumps into Pixar and Princess Kirara is solely Disney.
Basically Arina’s Frozen II adaption was commissioned by Disney lol. Couldn’t find anything on a jp ver so it might exclusively be for overseas outside of jp???
Another well known Disney related game is Twisted Wonderland (abbv. Twst) by Aniplex and Disney. It’s an ‘inspired’ official doujin game and falls into the grey area. with art by yours truly yana toboso-sensei
Then there’s TDR. Let’s be real, TDR is really just a really big official doujin owned by OLC with IP rights from Disney.
So how does this fall into TDR?
TDR used to have a seasonal Halloween entertainment, Happy Villains. They’re gender-bent of famous Disney Villains, different from the inspired OCs in Twst and kinda treated as official???? (no merch afaik) But also because jp Halloween is different from the typical western Halloween. Christmas too but thats a different story
Funnily they both have similar villain and themes. (Save for a few) Although i’ve noticed the genbent villains insporation from the parks was used for the faculty in Twst too!
Snow White: Apple Poison (HV) + Pommefiore (Twst)
Cinderella: Mozus Trein (Twst only)
Sleeping Beauty: Malfie (HV) + Diasomnia (Twst)
TLM: Eight Foot Joe (HV) + Octanivelle (Twst)
BntB: Ashton Vargas (Twst Only)
Heracules: Ms Hades (HV) + Ignihyde (Twst)
Lion King: Pretty Scar (HV) + Savanaclaw (Twst)
101 Dalmatians: Mr. Dalmatia (HV) + Divus Crewel (Twst)
PntF: Mr. V (HV) + Sam (Twst)
Aladdin: Faja (HV) + Scarabia (Twst)
HoND: Veil (HV)
Peter Pan: Hook (HV)
If you want to try it, Aniplex is bringing the game over this year!! (restricted to NA, about 2 years behind the jp servers, the EU stuff is also another story)
Other forms of entertainment include the ‘Koe no Oujisama’, the utaite (cover singers) collaboration cd ‘Connected to Disney’, this also means they have the right to preform the song live -> Shoko Nakagawa (the va not the singer for movie rapunzel) singing wwmlb, the healing incantation, and istl at a concert**. (idk how it it overseas since I’ve seen the songs sung outside of ‘concerts’ on talent programs so I’m assuming might be something different there?)  then again filming policies are different but that’s also for another day
Remember when Idina Menzel was invited to jp for a tv program yeah lol. While it’s not IP usage persay this is just a form of pr in jp and kr lolol
The second group is merch,
Store collaborations like the Oh My Cafe (official from the looks of it) cafe, GSC nendroid collab series (this can fall two ways actually with both twst and mainstream Disney bc GSC does listen to fan requests) and Ichiban Kuji/ UFO catcher prizes with Banpresto. seriously have you seen the ufo catcher prizes??? broke me is crying
This is similar to the jp Moomin branch we don’t talk about the 60s anime since that was an attempt at the moomin IP but they said screw source materials until the 90s reboot with actual input from Tove’s family
Other things include the ultimate princess celebration special bonus merch and merch bonuses in general. Glimpse at a jp media magazine next time (nakayoshi, wsj, b’slog, spoon2di), if you can, usually the bonus is mentioned on the cover and you’ll feel a bump from the packaging either midway in-between or behind the magazine. There’s even a TDR magazine (no bonus included)!!
US IP seems to be getting somewhere with merch IPs with spinoff books like the Twisted Tales and other YA books as of recent, hallmark ornaments, Funko pops and McDonalds, but that’s all I can think really and haven’t seen them slap the Disney logo onto any other stuff that much lol
imo US IP tends to be more/less??? entertainment focused? Like (long runners) Disney on Ice and the Broadway musicals, Now That’s What I Call Music, and most recently Cirque du Soleil. now if they’d stop giving their tv series the 3s curse
EU IP the only ones I can think of atm is the Bullyland figurines (Germany) and  Piscou comics (France).
TLDR: i didn’t rly explain anything lolol  IP in Japan is more likely to turn a blind eye as long as you’re respectful bc of the trust built within the community and not pull a moomin or a KH bc sqex didn’t like that at the parks *For the KH stuff here’s a link to a somewhat old but informative video: https://youtu.be/mFtkOA2MZuM
**somewhat old vid from Shoko Nakagawa’s live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuSc8c8Qyfo
Anyway thanks for reading :D

For the FIFTH DATE OF CHRISTMAS a daydream came to me…
AN AMUSEMENT PARK DATE w/ TSUKKI made with love for @aquenchedsoul. Here’s something simple but memorable. Enjoy your dream holidate!
Tumblr media
FEATURED DATE SONG: LA VIE EN ROSE (COVER) by DANIELA ANDRADE
Tumblr media
“Aren’t you excited, Tsukki?” It’s Christmas season and you’re full of joy and excitement because you will be having your very first winter date with your tall ass boyfriend, who by the way just hummed in response to your question.
It’s Christmas yet he’s looking so much like halloween still. This made you giggle knowing that Tsukki can be too cynical and salty at times. He might show that he’s dragging his feet in the amusement park but you knew better that he’s actually enjoying it.
Disneyland was so enchanting especially with snow gracing the entire park so perfectly. The ambience the place set was like a true fairytale and it filled you with so much happiness. It’s very apparent in the way your eyes shone at basically everything.
You and Tsukki planned which rides to do first and you filled the queues with stories and on telling him how stoked you were to ride each one of them. He was responding to you, but you noticed that he’s so into his phone a little bit too much. That’s why, even though you knew that he didn’t like the merry-go-round, you still invited him to tag along with you.
Just as when you’re about to pass the gate, you were shocked to find him outside leaving you alone in the ride. Hmph!
You tried to show how fun the ride can be. In return, he gave you a teasing chuckle and grin that spelled: How childish.
With a slight pout, you were upset and disappointed that he wasn’t loosening up yet. And! He still wasn’t letting go of that phone.
Lunch time came and he ordered meals for the both of you. You told him how much you enjoyed the rides so far, and all he did was browse on his phone. You didn’t know how to react to that. All throughout your date, he’s been tinkering with his phone, and you didn’t know if you should tell him about it or it would just ruin the atmosphere between you.
“l’ll just head to the washroom.” Tsukki excused himself and you noticed that he left his phone on the table.
You were trying so hard to control yourself not to take a peek, but it was very difficult especially when you saw his expression subtly lighting up while looking at his screen. Was he chatting with someone? But it didn’t seem like he could do that. Was he now into playing mobile games? You’re just super curious about what could be on that phone until it rang. It’s Yamaguchi!
“Tsukki!”
“Yamaguchi, it’s me, Y/N. Tsukki’s in the washroom. He left his phone.” You informed him nicely and he embarrassedly said goodbye thinking that he might be interrupting your date.
When the call was over, you saw pictures of you on the screen of Tsukki’s phone. And they weren’t just pictures. You scrolled a little and confirmed that your boyfriend was actually taking candid photos of you all throughout your date. Though you didn’t find yourself cute in some of the pictures, you couldn’t take but feel giddy.
There’s the one when you were excitedly lined up in the Haunted Mansion. He also took a snap of the screen after you rode the Space Mountain. It was your least favorite, because your hair basically covered 100% of your face. There were also pictures of you when you rode the merry-go-round  alone, becuse he refused to join—some showed you as you were happily looking at him. There’s also a few where your slight pout was showing. This was probably when he gave you that mocking grin. Ugh, these photos were most likely his favorite.
Maybe that’s why he’s secretly laughing.
Tsukki was a tall guy that’s why you immediately noticed him approaching. You hurriedly returned his phone to its place and tried to pretend, as much as possible, that you saw nothing.
“Let’s go.” He advised.
“Okay!” You replied to him with a very exuberant grin on your face. It’s uncontrollable, though you wanted it to stop.
He just raised an eyebrow over your renewed spirit. Last time he checked, you were kinda’ upset because he didn’t join you in that stupid merry-go-round whatever and now you’re uncannily jolly and blushing. He shrugged the thought away and led you to your next ride.
You were focused on your phone, practically the same as he was a while back as you were lining up for Peter Pan’s Flight. Perhaps, you can get some photos of him that you can marvel and laugh at too. Oh! You’re totally waiting for him to give you that suspicious look. And there he went, he just did it. Quickly, you took a snap and chuckled internally.
When it’s your turn to hop on the little flying ship, he reached a hand for you assisting you in your steps. You sat comfortably beside each other and the ride began.
Seeing him on his phone again, made you happy, but you wanted him to focus on the moment with you too. Not just only to you. So you grabbed his hand and held it regardless of how embarrassed you were to do this.
“Don’t tell me you’re scared of this childish ride?” Tsukki asked you teasingly.
“No, I’m not. It’s just because…I-I want to.”
He was taken aback by your statement and elicited a flustered reaction which you didn’t miss despite the darkness. You weren’t usually that too direct about the things you’d like to do up until now. Upon that realization, he untangled your hands together and snaked an arm around you instead. You stared up at him in surprise at his voluntary show of affection in public (well, it’s dark so…).
“What?” Tsukki asked quietly and you just smiled and rested your head on his shoulder while you both enjoyed the ride. Indeed, you were just about to begin.

Sora’s Time to Shine
youtube
Summary: Mari is already not putting too much expectations going into watching the Final Smash Presentation when someone close to her besides Kirby and Edelgard’s beloved Professor pops out of nowhere in said Presentation. All hell breaks loose (but in a good way).
Setting: Mari and co.’s house in Daly City, California; October 5, 2021
Notes: I was pretty behind in seeing the reveal since I was pretty tired when it came out and I had to check a friend’s post on Plurk to make sure that it was not all for the jokes before watching it on Gamespot and writing this story down. And yes, the Byleth in my S/I verse is the female version in case anyone is curious. And yes, it took me until around 8 AM to write this up. Featuring Luther Vandross. Here is an ask I made on Sora’ behest during a F/O takeover long before he got confirmed recently. #SakuraiHasReachedtheImpossibleDream #Sora4Smash

“Hurry Mari, you’re about to miss it!” Kairi is dragging me out onto the sofa to see the final Smash Ultimate Presentation on the living room pretty early before plopping ourselves onto the sofa.
“Look, Kairi, guys. I hate to be a party pooper, but I have no clue about who could it be,” I try to be realistic in my views.
“Well, at this point, my beloved, it could be anybody from the video game world,” my dear Philip chimes in while trying to reassure me, “Besides, as soon as it is done, we shall try to reply back to this non Smash invitation that El had found in the mail today.”
“Huh, is that correct, El dear?” I asked my regal adopted daughter for confirmation.
“Why yes of course, Mother,” she replies as she passes me the invitation, “I believe that a friend of yours has sent us one, but I didn’t want to open it immediately since this is addressed to you.”
“Okay then, I will get to read it and reply back once the Presentation is over and see who gets to fight with Kirby and Professor Byleth,” I smiled back at her.
“I couldn’t believe that there was a leak that just came out before this Presentation video and it is about music. Who was that dense enough to do it at a time like this?” Riku mumbles as he gets the video streaming on the Nintendo Direct page in his laptop.
“You know, Riku, sometimes people can act very idiotic at times, so there isn’t much we can do besides ignoring and avoiding that as much as possible,” Harry sighs as he is bottle feeding and gently rocking Serena as she had cried a while ago to be bottle fed.
“Guys, have you guys seen Sora lately?” Issa asks us while carrying Chris in her arms, “I haven’t seen him in the last few days. He didn’t even reply back to either my or Kairi’s texts and calls. Do you think he’s off to visit Jack and Sally in Halloween Town? It’s nearing Halloween soon.”
“That’s really a good question, Issa,” Ahk agrees, “I had given up trying to find him by calling over on the phone since last Thursday. All I have gotten from it were many ‘The subscriber could not be reached’ messages.”
Even Riku and Kairi are in a loss for words as they turn to each other and wonder what is up with our friend lately. Did he just went poof without us knowing? Kirby always informs us through his many Poyos that he would have to head off to Smash whenever a new tourney starts or a newcomer arrives and Edelgard’s class often gets shorter class schedules or early dismissals whenever Professor Blyeth gets to fight in Smash: she is the professor handling the Black Eagles class. Sometimes even El, Petra and Dorothea along with a few others (and yes, that includes the Gatekeeper) would come over to Smash to spectate from the sidelines and support their beloved Professor.
There is a long silence when the Nintendo Switch title card plays in the laptop and Karina directs us all to watch the screen to see many clips featuring many Smashers in the current tournament before it transitions to Sakurai-san in the studio explaining about the video as well as showcasing the Mii Fighter costumes.
“Hey look, Isabelle the Dog’s demon slaying friend from Bethesda is now coming to Smash to rip and tear up the competition!” Moana screams when the Doomguy Mii Gunner costume appears.
“Good for him; I know that many fans really did want him to be in Smash, though the costume is a nice addition,” Issa agrees. “That now makes three Bethesda franchises represented in the costumes.”
“Even the Octolings and Judd the Cat got hats based on them too,” I chime in as well.
“Oh hey, guys! Sakarui’s about to reveal the last fighter for the Second Fighter’s Pass, so keep down it and don’t expect too much,” Karina informs as Sakurai transitions to the main event and we all stay silent and stay glued to our seats.
The screen turns black before the usual Smash logo opening shows up, but instead of the usual zoom in, it then turns into a flaming Smash logo with all the Smashers up until Kazuya Mishima (yeah, the guy who tried to drop Kirby off a cliff) looking at it and covered in the shadows. Did MH decided to get them to show up in there and meet the last fighter in the dark? Probably, I bet that he might be keeping it as a surprise and possibly even conserving electricity at the same time. Then cut to Inkling Girl looking in awe with the Smash logo reflecting onto her pupils as a nice ode to the first reveal trailer for the game/tourney, I honestly love this shot.
Wait a minute, the logo turns into stars and the next scene shows everyone frozen in place as toy-like ambiios?!? How is it even possible? Well, it does certainly confirmed once again that the video game version of the tourney is set in a world of make believe after all. I could swear that a lot of people crying their eyes out as they are watching this. It looks like this is the end of one great video game series about mascots fighting among each other. Or is it? Because the camera is aiming at Mario as if he looks like he’s trying to take a nap while standing up.
Riku then proceeds to mumble some words to me incoherently that something big is coming the moment Mario wakes up to see a glowing light to see the last remaining flame glowing on the floor, which I do agree with him. Suspicious right? Oh God, Mario no! Please don’t touch the fire for everyone’s sanity. Wait, hold on a second: that isn’t not just fire that he just grabbed on and then tossed it into the sky like a boomerang: the mystery object looks like a Keyblade and there’s that Mickey keychain! Yep, that’s a Keyblade alright. Could it be...
I could recognize that beam of light that Keyblades often produce whenever they lock and unlock Keyholes to other worlds, so does everyone in the room. Riku and Kairi hugged onto each other as if we’re about to brace for an emergency (Karina and Moana also did the same), Ahk stares at the screen to see if he’s not imagining things all the sudden, Issa has her mouth drop in shock, Chris and Serena didn’t cry throughout this entire presentation, Harry gasps and nearly drops Serena’s bottle, Philip turns to me for answers while Edelgard begins to sweatdrop in concern.
No words are exchanged as the light grows and shines brighter before it proceeds to shoot itself away from the Keyblade to reveal a Keyhole on another part of the room. It then glows bright within as the camera switches back to the rest of frozen Smashers as the light begins to fill the room and revives Link, Cloud, Incineroar and Mewtwo as they all gawk at it as it reveals something from the World of Light with the orchestral rendition of Simple and Clean playing in the background. And that’s when it hits us right at the gut: the familiar spiky brown hair poking out from that Keyhole.
“What!?!” Kairi shouts as the Keyhole ‘spits’ out Sora from the World of Light.
“H-h-he actually got in, for real?” Riku squeaks up.
“Oh my…” I gasp in pure shock as we watch the whole thing played out.
“Sakarui finally did it?” Issa adds in to the discussion.
“Well, it’s about time that they managed to get his darn behind into the tourney,” Karina seconds in.
Soon enough, Sora finally wakes up from his nappy time and takes notes from Peter Pan and Tinkerbell as he flies around, sprinkling fairy dust all over the other Smashers, before landing on the floor and the Keyblade flying back to his hand.
“Damn it, Sora!” I scream as the splash screen pops in.
“Kai, your boy has finally made it big time!” Moana shakes Kairi in congratulation rather rapidly that it nearly gives my lil sis a dizzying spell.
“Moana, please don’t make Kairi that dizzy,” Harry had to tell her that.
“Whoops! Sorry Kairi,” she apologizes to her which she accepts.
So with that, we switch back to Sakurai going in depth with Sora’s moveset after he discussed about the Kingdom Hearts games and world. And he has gotten 4 costume changes, man Sora, that’s a big wardrobe you’re bringing in, oh wait, he even got the Timeless River costume too. That makes it 5 then.
“Oh gods, Sakurai is making us suffer by watching Sakurai using Sora to beat up everyone,” Ahk tells us as the Sora moveset showcase begins.
“No kidding,” Harry muses as we see Sora beating everyone in Battlefield.
“Whoa, they went for Sealing the Keyhole instead of having Trinity Force with Donald and Goofy? What a bummer,” Karina bemoans in dismay.
“Well, you know modern Disney: too overprotective of their IPs,” Philip reminds her.
“Oh new stage, what could it be?” Riku gleefully chimes in before they reveal Hollow Bastion as the stage, “Whoa, Hollow Bastion. I never thought that you will return again.”
Then the stage changes into Dive to the Heart and it had Riku and Kairi in the stained glass in one, Riku being the main focus of the second one, Roxas in the middle of the third, Xion in the fourth, Terra for the fifth, a sleepy Ven in the sixth, and Aqua’s in the seventh.
“Pretty!” I complimented the look of each stained glass.
“Quite impressive I will admit,” El agrees with me too.
Then Sakurai begins a playthrough with Sora facing Cloud and Sephiroth in Hollow Bastion, for a while, we all thought that he’s going to be a goner with Cloud and Sephiroth beating him up in the Stamina match but then the tides begin to turn in his favor after Sephy lost his full stock and with Sora having to take down Cloud next. When he did, the scene begins to go into a slow white fade out with a Game!
“Alright! Sora did it! He defeated both Cloud and mean old Sephy,” Riku cheers on.
“Woo! Go Sora!” me, Kairi, Moana, and Karina screams aloud.
“That was brilliant!” Harry agrees before he turns to Serena, “Did you hear? Uncle Sora managed to defeat two opponents in a Smash Ultimate playthrough.”
“9 songs is better than nothing at all,” Issa observes, “It would be a licensing nightmare to talk to Disney if they can borrow a couple of songs from them and they straight up refuse to assist, oh well. Oooh, a Dearly Beloved Swing arrangement, nice! I better get that save file on the Switch prompto!”
“And check out that Spirit Board: Aunt Kairi has a Spirit of herself,” Edelgard informs us as the Spirit Board for KH is revealed.
“Oh gee, never thought that it could ever happen, but thanks,” she blushes.
“Hey, I got one as well, same with Axel, Xion, Roxas, Aqua, Terra and Ven,” Riku joins in, “Marina is so going to be happy to see her boyfriend as a Spirit. She will probably try to get him real soon.”
“You bet it right, Riku, you bet it right,” I nod and agree with that last statement.
“Oh hey, he’s going to be ready within a few weeks’ time,” Karina speaks up, “Neat! The roster is now complete.”
“Even Steve and Alex have amiibos of themselves being made, that’s even more wonderful,” Ahk takes note of it, “I’m pretty sure that Sora will have one of his own along with Pyra, Mythra, that jerk who tried to threw Kirby off a cliff, and even Sephiroth soon.”
“WHAT?!? Kingdom Hearts are coming to the Switch too!?!” I am surprised to hear the news as Sakurai reveals this new information, that is so mind-blowing.
When it fades to black then to the Ultimate mural, the camera then goes for the space between Ganondorf and Dark Samus to fill in Sora’s spot before panning back. Man, this Presentation is long and is finally ending, thank God; it must be tiring to sit down and watch a nearly hour long video as Sakurai showcases the screenshots he has made and showed off in Twitter. Man, so many memories and montages. And the achievements, wow, that is a lot of them, it will be a game feat that I don’t think it will be broken for a long time.
Man, I will miss the presentations and Sakurai’s corny jokes for sure. I wish him a nice deserving break from all the game development for sure as he gives thanks to everyone from the devs to the players to the people prompting the game and ends it off with a heartfelt goodbye as it fades to back into the full reveal trailer.
“Oh gee, I’m going to miss the Smash Presentations,” Kairi sighs, “I can’t believe that we’re coming to an end.”
“Man, it’s finally over,” Riku gasps in remark as the full trailer plays out, “I don’t think that there will be a game like Ultimate for a very long time. That’s for certain.”
“I agree, Riku. It’s to going to be a tough act to follow up on,” I add in before I look up at the ceiling and murmur some words, “It’s been a long time coming, Sora. You truly deserve that last spot, you really do. Have fun in the tourney and Smash Mansion, buddy.”
Sora is Finally Here!
The End

The Night I’ve Been Waiting For || Zen Ryu
Author’s note: I wrote this for @mysmessengerdiscord‘s Apple-y Ever After event. I didn’t use a prompt from it, but it’s still fall/halloween themed and I have another fic coming out that will be using a prompt supplied.
The costume choices were heavily inspired by Bonnie and Clyde the Musical and I stole this title from a line in the song How ‘Bout a Dance.
Summary: A costumed Halloween fundraiser throws Zen and MC into some emotional turmoil
Word Count: 2,255
Masterlist
Tumblr media
When Jumin Han announced that he was going to be throwing a Halloween fundraiser, you and your best friend, Zen started planning your costumes. For as long as you had known him, you and Zen had always dressed up together for Halloween, you guys shared a favorite holiday after all, why wouldn’t you? When you both first met, you went as countless pairs: Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Woody and Buzz, Eric and Ariel, ect. As you became closer, you both still dressed in pairs but made them more creative. All your friends loved to bring up the time you guys went as Peter Pan and his shadow, Zen being the shadow since he was so much taller than you.
“So I was thinking this year that we went as a silent movie couple? Wear all black and white and paint our faces and hands white as well?” You caught up with Zen one night before walking into a get together at Saeyoung’s house.
“Or maybe Ant-Man and The Wasp? I think that would be really cool and I’d look amazing in that costume.” Zen said, swagger dripping from his words. He turned his phone towards you to show you costumes that you both could order off of Amazon.
Sighing, you both stopped outside of the bunker’s front door and texted Yoosung asking to be  let in. “I don’t know, Zen. Money’s tight for the both of us right now. At least with my idea you and I could wear stuff we already own and just buy the body paint.”
“We always do what you want to do, MC. Can’t we do what I want to do for one year? I’ll even buy your costume and you can pay me back when you want.” Zen was rubbing his upper arm, something he did when he was anxious, which wasn’t often.
Grabbing his hand, you smiled softly at him. “I don’t think I want to do that. I’d feel really bad.”
“Then maybe I can just ask Jaehee if she’ll match with me instead.” Zen said, glancing at the dark haired woman as the door swung open. You felt your insides clench slightly. You’ve been picking up lately that Zen might be interested in Jaehee and every time you thought of that, you felt a pang of jealousy in your stomach. You were sure it was only because if Zen started dating Jaehee, he wouldn’t have as much time to hang out with you. Although, the rest of your friends knew the real reason you were jealous: you loved Zen and couldn’t bear the thought of him seeing someone else.
“Uh yeah..” you trailed off spotting Saeyoung sprawled across the couch. “I think I will ask Saeyoung if you don’t mind then.”
Zen looked taken aback for a moment before plastering a smile on his face. “Good idea. I’m gonna go catch up with Jaehee but I’ll see you later?” It wasn’t a question that Zen usually asked. You and him were always together. But with the halloween costume debacle, he didn’t know what to expect.
“Um, sure. Maybe. I’ll text you!” You said, anxious to get away. You felt like you were going to pass out, your head was swimming and it was getting harder to concentrate on what you were doing.
Zen cast his eyes down and turned to your shared group of friends milling about, smiling softly as he saw Jaehee waiving him over. You watched him walk away and ignored how you felt like a piece of you was leaving with him. Sitting down next to Saeyoung, you put on a forced smile as he greeted you. “How’s your day been so far?”
“It’s been okay. Hey, so Jumin’s halloween fundraiser? Have you thought about matching costumes with anyone yet?” Saeyoung looked startled and you weren’t surprised. You and him have always been a part of the RFA but were never super close; it has always been you and Zen.
“I mean, not really. Yoosung and I will probably put something together last minute if I can’t find someone else.” When he said that, Saeyoung coughed nervously. “I assume you and Zen are matching this year?”
Shaking your head you looked pointedly at your math partner. “Nah, he’s asking Jaehee to do a Marvel themed costume with him since we couldn’t agree on what to do. I was uh, wondering if maybe you wanted to do a couples costume with me?”
Saeyoung nodded his head eagerly. “I’d love to but I’ll warn you, I’m not super creative so we can really do what you want and I’ll just be happy to be paired with you.”
Blushing you swept a piece of hair away from your face. “What do you mean you’re not creative?  You literally cosplay for fun?” You questioned the man sitting next to you and he shrugged nonchalantly.  “But… Well I was thinking of a couple from an old black and white silent film?”
“That’d be so cool! We’d wear our nicest black and white clothing and then paint our faces and hands with white paint and line our lips with black or grey coloring!”
“That’s exactly what I was going for, this is gonna be great!” You exclaimed turning to the worksheet that was just placed in front of you. “We can meet up later this week before halloween to go buy the paint.”
Tumblr media
After work on Friday, Saeyoung picked you up in his fancy car and drove to the nearest costume shop. “Hey I was thinking maybe we could do something other than silent film actors? Maybe something like a classic couple? Maybe Bonnie and Clyde?” Saeyoung said, shifting through some of the costumes. “We could go to the thrift store and get the costumes from there. I’m just not sure I’m feeling a silent film couple.”
You considered Saeyoung’s idea for a moment before agreeing. “Sure, as long as you’re Clyde, I know how you like to dress up sometimes.”
Grinning, Saeyoung grabbed your hand and led you out of the costume shop. “I’d look good as either, but I’ll put you out of the misery of being Clyde since I don’t think you can pull it off.”
“Hey! I’ll let you know that I could be a damn good Clyde if I chose to be! You’d just look really good in a fedora.” Even though he was teasing, you felt your chest ache. Zen wouldn’t have said something like that and you found yourself missing him a little bit more than normal.
Ever since you couldn’t agree on a costume pair, you two had grown apart, he was busy planning a costume with Jaehee and you with Saeyoung, there was nothing to talk about other than your days, but even that only left you with a few short minutes of conversation. So you pushed that pain to the side and focused on where you were currently, trying on long pencil skirts and old fashioned blouses until Saeyoung approved of one of the ones you had picked.
Once he dropped you off at your apartment, you grinned at him through the passenger’s window. “I’m so excited to see how you’ll make the bloodstains look real. I can’t wait. Thanks again for doing this!”
With a faraway look in his eye, Saeyoung waived you off before driving away and you found yourself glancing at your phone to see if there was anything interesting you had missed. No text from Zen. Sighing, you pushed your phone back  in your pocket and headed up the stairs to your apartment, already planning on making some halloween cookies once you got settled.
Tumblr media
Saturday night was the night of Jumin’s halloween fundraiser and you were buzzing with excitement, picking nervously at an invisible thread on your costume. Saeyoung had helped you pick out a costume, made some alterations to make it look like there was blood spatter and bullet holes on it and you looked amazing in it but you hadn’t seen his costume at all. He said you’d be surprised though.
When a knock sounded on your front door, you jumped up and opened it to meet Saeyoung in all black. “Hey, uh. Where’s your costume?” Saeyoung escorted you to the car and you were surprised when you looked in the back and saw a cardboard PacMan. “That doesn’t look like Clyde. Saeyoung, what’s going on?”
Saeyoung had a soft smile on his face as he backed out of your driveway and headed towards Jumin’s house. “You’ll see when we get there.”
The rest of the car ride was quiet, leaving you very confused. You had no idea what was going on and you couldn’t be Bonnie without a Clyde, no one would understand.
When you arrived at Jumin’s you got out of the car and patiently waited as Saeyoung put on his cardboard version of PacMan and you both walked into the fundraiser together. “MC!” You were pulled away from Saeyoung as soon as you walked in, Jumin pushing a drink into your hand. “I thought you and Zen weren’t going as a pair this year?”
You furrowed your brow as you took a sip of the punch that had yet to be spiked, most likely by Zen. “We aren’t. I was supposed to match with Saeyoung but he showed up at my door with a PacMan costume today. Now I look like a fool.”
“Evening, Bonnie. Don’t you look wonderful tonight.” You turned around and saw Zen standing in a Clyde Barrow costume, tipping his hat towards you charmingly. Jumin laughed lightly at the blush spreading on your cheeks.
“Mr. Barrow,” you responded, playing along with Zen’s introduction. “Fancy seeing you here in that.”
“Jaehee persuaded me to go as Clyde and said she’d be Bonnie. Much to my surprise, she showed up on my doorstep in a vampire costume.”
“It seems that Saeyoung and Jaehee planned this,” you noted. “Hey look I’m sor-”
“MC, I should apologize. I was a jerk and didn’t take into consideration your feelings about your money situation and what you wanted to do for halloween. Ditching you wasn’t cool.” Zen was rubbing at his arm again and you grabbed his hand, rubbing soothing circles into the palm of it with your thumb.
“Forgotten and forgiven. All that matters is that we’re here now and we ended up matching in damn good costumes, if I do say so myself.” Zen started leaning closer to you, his breath starting to brush over your lips and you felt your heartbeat pick up.
“MC! Zen! They’re about to announce the couple costume winners! You guys should go over because I heard that you two have a good shot. The winners get to choose which charity the money goes to this time!” Yoosung pushed his way through the crowd to get your attention, his purple PacMan costume slightly bent out of shape, and Zen leaned back and cleared his throat, gesturing towards the semi-tipsy blond.
“You heard the man, we should head over there.” Zen grabbed your hand and led you through the crowd, your heart feeling like it was floating over your head as the steady grip of his hand never left yours.
“The winners were voted by the crowd for the couples costume,” Jaehee paused as she pulled out her phone and Zen’s hand squeezed yours a little harder for that second. “Is MC and Zen as Bonnie and Clyde!” Zen pulled you to the front of the crowd so that you both could accept the envelope with the card in it, explaining all the charities that the money you won could go to.
“I suppose I owe you a congratulations, although everyone else’s costumes are boring compared to yours.” Jumin, who was dressed as Doctor Frankenstein, shook both of your hands and you couldn’t wipe the goofy grin off your face. “Did you want to make a speech?”
Zen was notorious for speeches, all of the RFA joked that the only reason he gave them was because he liked to hear his own voice and you weren’t entirely convinced that wasn’t true. “I don’t think so. I think this’ll speak for itself,”
Zen pulled you closer to him and you looked up questioningly at him. “Zen, what are you-”
Your best friend cut you off by placing his lips on yours. Shocked at first, you didn’t know how to react but once you realized what was happening, your arms wound around his neck, accidentally knocking his hat off in the process, and your eyes closed, you fully melted into the kiss. “I’ve been wanting to do that for about as long as I could remember.”
Pressing another kiss to his lips, you played with his hair that was put into a bun to hide under his hat. “I’m glad you did.”
Pulling away from Zen, you turned to all your friends who were watching this interaction quitely. Once they saw you both were done with your small moment, they erupted into cheers. “Finally!” Someone exclaimed and you laughed, bending down to pick up Zen’s fedora off the ground.
Placing it back on his head, he leaned down and kissed your lips again and brushed his fingers across your tinted pink cheeks. “If I haven’t told you already tonight, you look amazing, Bonnie.”
Putting your head in the crook of his neck you smiled, breathing in the scent that was so incredibly Zen that you had no other way to describe it. “You look pretty charming yourself, Clyde.”
