I feel like when people ask famous personalities to participate in activism, they may be influenced by the parasocial relationships they have formed with these celebrities and not that they really care about what is going on. They expect famous individuals to act as role models or representatives of their beliefs. That's why I think, it is crucial to maintain a critical perspective and not depend solely on celebrities for activism. This can result in a passive approach to social change and disregard the significance of collaborative action and personal engagement. The majority of celebrities don't care lol even who speak up about it publicly. Their reality is different from ours, like Gigi Hadid also drank Starbucks the other day, Bella Hadid worked with a lot of Zionist brands and did a photo shoot with them recently, etc etc. And let me not start on stans culture... the worst thing ever

Okay this is fascinating because yes! I agree with you so much! But then I was completely floored by the choice of the HADIDS (literal Palestinians who never shut up about the cause) as examples- but actually I love it because I think it opens up two really really important points that maybe get to the heart of the whole issue. Gigi and Bella Hadid are, as I said, literally Palestinian, and have throughout their public lives (not just recently) never been silent or backed down in defense of Palestine even when it has very publicly lost them (Bella primarily) jobs and opportunities, and they both continue to be outspoken even while literally targeted and threatened by zionists. Pretty much everything anyone has wanted or asked for from any celebrity, right?! But here we have, first of all, Gigi having all of that discounted because she bought Starbucks, a brand that is not even an official boycott! I feel like this is a perfect example of prioritizing performative and symbolic activism over actions with material impact, if someone who has been so consistent and stalwart can see all that dismissed because they spent $5 on a coffee (that, again, has no material financial relationship to Israel). I personally think that on a scale of good done vs harm, Gigi can afford a lot of problematic coffees, and this is not even getting into the Hadid families finances which involve huge amounts of money being used and moved around in ways that do more to help the cause than any image choice can unbalance. And then you say that Bella has worked with zionist brands- I don't know anything about this so I can't speak to it. Given that we are also apparently considering starbucks a zionist brand despite the company not operating in or having any ties to Israel, I would question what this means. But it doesn't matter- I think the point is that consumer/ individual purity isn't possible! No one is making pure consumer choices, no matter how many brands they boycott, and certainly no celebrity can continue to be one without having unsavory connections. I think that BY DEFINITION no celebrity is politically pure because if they cut all those ties, THEY WOULD NO LONGER BE A CELEBRITY. Whether the pursuit of purity is realistic or desirable is a much bigger issue, but the point is that as you say, looking to celebrities to be activists will end only in disappointment. Their job is to entertain in specific ways and they do that; if that's not working for you, then consume some other celebrity's product (persona). As I have said from the start, if you want to stan Louis because he is talented and hot and kind and smart and fun then you are in luck! But if you are looking for an activist spokesperson, he is not going to be that, and yelling at him (or people who don't consider that a deal breaker) isn't going to change that.

Hi G! I'm seeing Louis tickets going on sale (and ofc haters are being awful) and asking myself if I'm not a good fan by not being much hyped about this tour all around. Wonder if this is like others feel too. I mean we all know (and certainly he and bmg too) larries are a big part of his fanbase and everything going on w/ bbg, shady DMs and blocks, added to the absolute lack of a regular promo and possible boycott he's under kind of wore me out from fandom in a way no even pandemic times did :(

Hi love. I think everyone will have different reactions to the things that go on in this fandom. Some will feel turned off by the things you mention, and others will feel compelled to support him more fully because "no one else is". I think neither one makes you a bad fan nor a good fan. You just need to engage with Louis in the way that makes you happy. As fans, I don't see us as responsible for the success or failure of his career. We should engage with it if it appeals to us. And the same goes for any celebrity we might be aware of.

I truly dislike the way people in this fandom try to bully others for not supporting things to whatever level they've personally determined is "enough". It's one thing to actively work against someone and try to damage their career (that's absolutely fucked up and demented behavior), and another to just feel less enthusiastic than you might once have been.

There is way too much plausible deniability to ever state any of it as a confirmed fact either way. It holds less value as a fact, than the other facts, even if it's true.

Some people claim to have actual proof of larry being real (have seen them being affectionate together in person). Some of these stories checks out (speaking for myself here). But even if we got new information, and some of these facts turn out to not be facts after all, there are still too many other facts proving the theory that larry is real. The base of facts our theory leans on is just too strong.

It's both funny and sad to see larries get so angry for the truth in this article. it's not surprising that people that make fun of Olivia for dancing, her clothes, her face, her age, her career, her words etc are having the hardest time with this interview. I'm shocked that they are shocked. I could have told you jan 4th 2021 ( and I have been telling people since then) that no version of Harry would be happy with the way Olivia is treated. We have known Harry for 12 years and no matter if you think he is gay/straight, bi etc no version of Harry would appreciate what larries ( and het harries) are doing to her. Even if Harry is with Louis or with Olivia, what Olivia is having to deal with is insane. The problem is that a lot of larries think that Harry ( and Louis) hate Olivia ( and Eleanor) they way that they do. So they think all of those comments are OK because in their mind the boys would like it. And when they say "hey guys, that's NOT ok because that's just plain old hater activity" they struggle because it's not what they told themselves was OK. Every time she is with Harry the same fans make fun of her being a bad mother even though she has a 50/50 custody. Even though they know that that week she doesn't have the kids larries still make comments about how she left her kids. How many of those fans make fun of Louis, Liam and Zayn's fatherhood and them being bad fathers every single time we see them without the kids? 0. So trying to act like a victim and being like " but we are just holding her accountable. We are obviously not just haters at this point" is hilarious sad to watch. All of those things that people are doing to Olivia have ZERO (0) with holding her accountable. But also how long are you going to hold her accountable? Why are we not holding the boys accountable? Why can we look at their concerts and not bring up every little mistake they have done but when Olivia as much as breathes.....here comes people on social media reminding us to hold her accountable (while of course making fun of her age, body, clothes etc). Let's be fair and remind everyone every time Louis is on stage that he said the n* word. Let's mind everyone that Harry wore a native American headdress every night as well. If we are going to hold people accountable let's do it then.

This is a lot of words, even for me, so I am just going to share three thoughts in response.

a) I actually have a huge issue with this idea that fans can ever hold Harry, or any celebrity, accountable. Firstly because I am unclear that fans have any suggestion of how they will do this beyond simply reiterating the thing that they did that was harmful. Secondly because I think to be able to have an impact on someone in terms of accountability, you need to have a relationship with them through which they are invested in your views and interested in learning about why the thing they did was harmful. As fans we have neither that relationship, nor if I am quite honest do I think we have evidence of a level of interest from Harry in learning about and working to reduce the harm caused by wearing that Native American headdress or the other things I can think of that he has done/does still. For those reasons, my issue isn't about fans holding people accountable - it's about them consistently calling out Olivia and ignoring the serious harm Harry (and the others) have perpetuated.

Basically, I wonder what it is that fans hope to achieve when they say they want to hold anyone accountable? I saw a tweet suggesting Olivia should post an insta story apologising - but if that’s all it is, who will that benefit?

b) I don't think that Harry being all 'TPWK' is the reason fans should know better than to direct mysoginistic hate at women like Olivia Wilde. I think fans should know better from a point of not perpetuating double standards and directing more hatred towards women for existing. I've said before that the impact of this on Olivia is not my real concern, my real concern are the other women seeing it every day and internalising that hatred further. And if there is one thing I really, truly despise it is judging the parenting of a woman on the internet, parenting is tough enough on women, in the public eye and in life generally, without you adding to that burden. As always, I agree about the double standards.

c) A combination of both the above. If you are calling out Olivia for being a fake feminist and you are perpetuating misogyny I am sorry to say you are not doing any of this out of concern for feminist values or to make a better world for women. And this is a great opportunity to not react defensively but perhaps take a look at yourself and your actions/words and whether you could be less awful.

Hiii pal!! :) How do you celebrate Yule? No one that I know personally does so I’d love to hear about your traditions! I’d say this month I’m most looking forward to just seeing family. I don’t see my brother very often and we have a Christmas dinner planned so I can’t wait to hang out with him :) How about you? I imagine you’re very excited about your trip abroad!

As for writing a fic, I may give it a shot! I really love model/footballer aus 👀 but i’m not set on anything yet (nor do I currently have enough knowledge of football to write a cohesive fic involving it). I love reading and have a couple fictional books on my list but so far I’ve been too engrossed in fic reading. But it’s the reading that counts! Even if it’s exclusively Larry fics.

How long have you been a larrie? I forget exactly when I joined the fandom but it was before the Gotta Be You music video because they shot it at my brother’s college and I was livid he didn’t get an autograph or picture for me. I was literally 10 or 11 so I don’t remember very well. and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t a larrie - I remember running larrie accounts (and making fucking terrible edits) even waaaaay back when.

I love Harry’s kindness. He’s such a pure soul and literally sunshine in a human form. As for Louis, I especially admire his dedication and how hard he loves. I love that they just seem like everyday people. Neither of them have forgotten their roots. I definitely see Harry’s kindness in myself. I couldn’t do anything that I thought would hurt someone else and I really believe in putting good energy out there. I also love really hard too.

It was three years later that Harry and his friends were finally going to be able to see each other.

After graduation, everyone have either got married or moved to different countries. Harry have done neither of those. He stayed in London. He was going to get married but he found out his partner was cheating on him the day after he proposed which was a stinger. All his friends were finally back in London with their kids and partners for Christmas.

Three years doesn't sound like a long time, nor it felt like it has been very long but the change in everything and everyone made it feel and look like a very long time. Mainly because their Friend Group Chat was still alive like it was made yesterday. They all managed to keep it alive and still be in touch with eachother.

Harry have already met up with Niall and Louis, it was just Liam, amd Brielle left who were yet to get to London. Those were not all of his friends, there was another friend, YN.

She was youngest out of all of them but she was the one who introduced Brielle to Liam and from there everyone got into a big group. YN used to be very out going and bubbly. She knew her seniors and was friends with them actually that should say a lot about her. Plus she was very sweet and kind. But now she hardly ever talks in the group chat. It is weird to see her like that but she occasionally engages herself in conversations which no one caught on but Harry always did.

They dated for almost a year after all. But they broke up when he graduated and had to go live in Japan for half a year. None of them wanted to break up but situations were making it more and more miserable so both of them decided to call it quits on their romantic relationship. He haven't talked to her much since, or anyone from the group really.

But anyway, rest of the gang was in town and they crashed at Harry's his house was the closest to the airport and he lived alone in a huge ass house all by himself. What better way to celebrate Christmas?

Their little kids were having a great time tearing down his Christmas tree. Harry did not mind at all. He loved his tiny godchildren, he can sacrifice not one but many Christmas trees for them. Just two little lads, Bear and Freddie were enough to make a huge ruckus.

"Hey," it was Niall whining when one of the kids jumped up on him using him as their personal trampoline. Harry laughed as he helped his friends in kitchen.

"Did YN call?" Brielle enquired.

"I don't know," Harry shrugged.

"Yeah, ow—" Niall whined again but he continued talking, "she said she's got some last minute work to do so she wouldn't be able to make it tonight."

"What, she's got work during holiday?" Liam sounded surprised.

"Yeah, I think she works freelance." Maya shared, "I was talking to her the other day and she said she could like edit my pictures and stuff for me."

"Yup, and definitely makes more money than any of us." Louis laughed.

"How do you know?" Harry asked.

"She's got a huge ass house, bigger than yours, she lives in with her two cats." Louis explained.

"How do you all know so much about her and I don't?" Niall gasped, "I though her and I were best friends."

"Like she ever talks to anyone of us as much as she does to you," Amelia rolled her eyes as she helped setting up the table.

"Harry why don't you call her and ask her to come over, we can wait for her." Maya suggested.

"I—you want me to call her?" He stuttered.

"Whoa Mr. Attitude, call her," Louis commented. "And didn't you two had a lovie-dovie thing back then?"

"I just— there is no point in arguing here," he sighed and grabbed his phone heading out to the living room. He called YN.

"Hello?" Her voice rang through his phone as soon as she answered his call. Honestly, Harry thought he have forgotten her voice but it was like he just talked to her yesterday.

"Hey," he started, "aren't you going to come to dinner today?"

"I, I, Uhhh— I've got some work so I really can't make it. I'm sorry but next time..." Her voice trailed off as she was done stuttering through jer guilt of turning down his dinner invite with other friends.

"Can't you like take a small break? I'm sure your boss will understand." He suggested.

"I work for myself," she chuckled, "that's why I've been putting off this, this uhhhh— project. You know how much I procrastinate."

Yeah, she never procrastinated of all he knew. All of her work in college was done two days before due date and she was one of those top students academically. She was straight up lying there and Harry caught it. He didn't wanted to push her though, if she doesn't want to come she doesn't have to.

"Oh it's okay then," he said, "but we'll be going to get breakfast tomorrow as well if you'd like to join. I'll send you the address, yeah?"

"Yeah," she agreed, "see you tomorrow then."

"Yeah," he repeated before he hang up. He texted her the place they all have decided for breakfast next day immediately.

Harry honestly was not expecting her to show up for breakfast. She was first one to reach there before Harry, everyone else were busy getting their kids ready so Harry left early.

"Hello, goodmorning." Harry greeted her.

"Mornin'!" She chirped. He noticed a stroller with the blinds on to shade whoever was sleeping in there from sun.

"Who do we got here?" He asked sitting right in front of her.

"Oh that's, that's Tara my daughter." YN shared. "She just fell asleep."

And that made his heart shatter into tiny little pieces.

"That's an adorable name," he still smiled, "can I get a peek if you don't mind?"

"Yeah!" YN nodded and removed the blinds from the stroller. She looks just like YN as she's fast asleep, now he remembers when YN had showed him her childhood pictures and it was the same person!

"She's very adorable." Harry looked back YN.

"Thanks!" She smiled an awkward smile.

"I didn't know you had boyfriend."

"Oh no, I don't. I got married and then divorced." She shared, "what about you? I know we haven't talked in a long while."

"Yeah, pretty much the same, didn't got to get married though nor do I have a kid yet." He said.

"Oh no I'm sorry, what happened?"

"She was cheating on me, thanks to Brie she caught her on time." Harry sighed.

"Oh," was YN's awkward reaction but Harry didn't find it awkward at all. That's the truth why be awkward about it.

"What does her name mean?" He asked.

"Star. It means star." YN smiled glancing over the stroller as she noticed slightest flinch from her baby, she moved the stroller back and forth for a moment.

"She looks just like you," he complimented earning a smile sheepish from her. "What happened with you and your ex-husband?"

Just as YN was about to go on with her story she was interrupted by the rest of them arriving. Luckily both the kids were very tame today, also luckily the place wasn't crowded and they got the table big enough for all of them. They all met YN and Tara, she was up by all the ruckus everyone was making, especially Louis and Niall. They all ordered together.

"She is so adorable YN, I wanna steal her!" Brielle gushed over the little baby in YN's lap with still sleepy eyes trying to comprehend where she exactly is.

"How old is she?" Maya asked.

"She'll be one on first of February." YN shared.

"Oh, Harry you found a birthday twin!" Niall announced.

"Yeah," Harry cooed looking at the little girl now staring back at him with doe eyes. Seeing Harry smile she shied away behind her hands making everyone coo.

"We should all go to London eye I haven't been there before and then go for shopping?" Brielle suggested.

"You've been to London eye before? Did you even lived here for three years?" Liam looked very surprised.

"I was architect student Liam, I hardly got time to sleep!" Brielle rolled her eyes.

When food was served, Tara did not wanted to get off of her Mummy's lap. She was not trying to be subtle at all, stealing the strawberries from Harry's plate of pancakes. Even stealing bits of waffles from her mum's plate.

YN didn't notice Tara was actually taking from Harry's plate until he moved the dish closer to her so it is easier for her to take whatever she wanted.

"Oh Tara no," YN stopped her, "I am sorry."

"No it's alright, she's nust taking the strawberries." Harry waved her apology off offering Tara a small of strawberry himself.

"Awh! Tara hou can eat all of my food," Brielle suggested still gushing over the chunky baby in her friend's lap.

Tara was too busy stealing berries from her new friend's plate to pay mind to anyone in the room. By the end of the meal she had made a big mess of her cardigan, hands and her mouth. She looked adorable though now that she is fully awake. YN had to change her up in the car so she told everyone to go ahead and not wait for her but Harry did. Well, he had to as Niall took his car.

"Nice car by the way," Harry leaned by the closed door of passenger seat, open back door acted like a barrier.

Now Harry got the gist of how rich she actually is, with a custom Range Rover with a custom wrap on it. It would cost him a fortune but he's happy for her. He's definitely sure she has turned her dream to be an editor into her full time job. Plus she's been working since she was in college. He's very proud of her.

"Thank you," YN smiled.

"So what happened?" He asked bringing up the conversation from earlier.

"It's awkward and dumb." She shrugged.

"No it's not, I dunno what happened but it wouldn't be dumb. Awkward? Maybe yes, but mot dumb." He assured her.

"After we broke up I went back home for a week. My dumbass forgot I had fading hickeys my mother noticed." She started explaining, "they got to that I'm obviously you know, yeah, so their first instinct was to get me married before they sent me back to complete my studies. He didn't wanted me to be pregnant and have Tara, accused me that she is not his child even before she was born. So I filed for divorce which my parents did not approve of either so I ditched everyone and everything and moved back here. Had her and now we live happily here."

"I'm sorry," Harry crooned sadly, "but did you not tell your parents about me?"

"I wanted to," she glanced him for a brief moment which enough for him to know what she was implying on. She was done changing up Tara and she was now all bundled up in another cardigan, and a puffer with a frog beanie. New pair of tiny sock-shoes on her tiny feet to keep them warm. She was strapped into her car seat.

"Get in. Or are you going to walk?" YN asked.

"Oh yeah," Harry rushed and got into the passenger seat. YN caught on sudden shift in his mood and overall vibe.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, just, just—" he sighed, "I'm sorry this all happened because of me." Harry felt guilty as he was definitely the cause of those hickeys on her as they were still sleeping together a week before they called it quits for real.

"You've got nothing to be sorry about. Do you remember we ended things on good terms? So it's all fine." She assured him.

"You had to go through so much, you didn't deserve that." He looked down at his lap fiddling with his fingers.

"I got the most wonderful daughter though, that's what I like to focus on now." She smiled looking over at him once she stopped at a red light.

"Why did you stopped talking to all of us out of nowhere?" He asked, "no wait, that was a dumb question."

"I really did not get the time to. My ex-husband and in-laws were absolute assholes plus I wanted to keep working." She still explained, "and I moved back to India immediately after I graduated so the time difference was crazy."

"Mhmm I see." He nodded.

The whole ride, Tara was babbling and cooing, Harry made up random conversations with her as if they're sharing secret tea which YM was obviously not a part of.

Entire day, Tara was being way to cute and interacting with everyone, especially with Harry. He's a charmer obviously, even little babies swoon over him. For the longest she was clung to him like a koala everywhere they went. The best part for her was that Harey wasn't tired of carrying her around, as if he have four kids at home.

She was of course spoiled by her uncles and aunties everyone got her little presents and toys. Even Harry did. It was going to a pain for YN as she's definitely going to litter the house with those toys. But allas everyone went back to Harry's, cooked together and had a massive feast.

YN was last to stay with Brielle to help Harry around. But Brielle ended up leaving as her long distance boyfriend was in town. YN was just leaving too.

Harry walked her out to her car waited for her until she was done strapping a sleeping Tara into her car seat. She was definitely going to sleep tight tonight with how much she got to enjoy and crawl around and play.

"Will see you on Christmas then?" He asked.

"Yeah," YN nodded, "I take a week off so yes."

Harry nodded as he was at lost of things to say until YN closed the back door, "YN?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you also remember that we broke things off saying if we get a chance we'd get back together?" He asked.

Now this has been on his mind ever since everyone made plans to get together for Christmas. He missed her all of a sudden.

When he broke his phone and had to go back to his old one until he got a new, he found all their pictures together. Some very private, some with friends and many of them just cuddling and random videos of them fooling around all alone, especially cycling around the neighborhood late at night like maniacs.

It was probably stupid, but he had hold onto the change of them getting back together for his life. He did tried to move on but what he do when she had his whole heart with her? He was actually grateful that he never got to marry the girl he was with after her. It felt really juvenile to not be able to move on when all he used to do before he met YN was sleep around with random people, never gave committing to someone a chance. But when he did, he did not wanted to back off. Not even for his life.

"You're making me feel bad now." She sighed, her eyes brimmed with tears.

"You don't have to. Remember we ended on good terms," he smiled, "but my offer still stands," at this point he's just messing with her in attempt to not make her cry.

"You're hilarious?" It was more of a question than a statement.

"Am I?" He smirked, "at least you still find me funny."

"God you're annoying." She groaned sniffling on her tears. "But you know Harry on a serious note, I have a baby now."

"I know, and she's as adorable as you if not." He smiled leaning on his side on YN's car, he still stood half a feet taller than her and she literally always had to look up at him when talking. "I'm not asking us to pick up where we left. Just a little date maybe? We can go get coffee or something." He casually pushed YN's hair behind her shoulder like he was used to doing all the time as he spoke, she stared at him as she thought about what he said. And to Harry she looked even more gorgeous with red tones under the skin of her cheeks and nose due to cold weather, beige beanie with a white pompom on top of her head. He gave her glasses a slight push over the bridge of her nose as he waited patiently for her answer.

"You sure you're fine with this? I come with a child now." She shrugged giving sheepish look by the choice of her own words.

"I don't mind having her in my life, she's a part of you why would I mind having her." He said casually.

"Okay."

"Okay, as in I've got a date?" He asked getting excited.

"Yeah." She nodded.

"Oh god," he sighed happily and next thing she new his lips were on hers, but he was quick to pull away, "I'm sorry—" but he was cut off with YN pulling him in for another kiss slotting their lips together for longer than a kiss should last. Harry pulled away chuckled softly as he rested his forehead on hers, "I'll pick you up tomorrow by five?"

"Mhmm." YN of course agreed and was rewarded with yet another kiss from him.

sea, I'm kind of worried about the new content from louis... larries are not happy with harry's behaviour, but obviously it won't affect him bc "he's a poor guy stuck in contracts by evil jeffrey" but "louis is a millionaire, so he doesn't need our money". I wouldn't be surprised if they pull the boycott bs again, but they'll obviously buy his new make-up line bc "he's gone through so much". literally don't understand their mindset, they could be mad at any of them but louis will always get the bad side :/ and if their promo coincide once again, we can forget about any good reviews/ interviews 😐

I have some thoughts about this, and I don’t want to be mean to Larries who genuinely love Louis, but here it is.

It’s very clear, after five years, that Harry’s and Louis’ careers are going down two very different paths. Whatever their relationship to each other (or not), their professional opportunities, their career outlook, their influence, their sales, their general public popularity differ exponentially.

All of that is not without mental and emotional consequence to Harry and Louis.

We’re happy when we get promoted at work, or see our efforts lead to better outcomes in our lives.

The same thing happens to Harry and Louis. Being multimillionaires doesn’t protect them from wanting to create admirable art or wanting recognition for it. It isn’t enough to please a fandom who already loves them and is ready to support whatever they do; they also want to grow as artists, reach other audiences, know that their hard work will be worthwhile to their own peers.

Harry has achieved this. Both his industry support and fandom support have given him freedom to fly. Spending three days taking photos with Olivia from a yacht is no hardship compared to the opportunities he has been given (not earned) — the opportunity to do whatever he wants and be secure in knowing that his work, as such, will be properly promoted and rewarded. His horizon is wide open.

Louis has had the opposite. A perverse, immoral industry has closed contacts, opportunities, fair chances to him, and it’s been going on both in obvious, transparent ways, as well as less obvious ways.

We talk about this over and over, but I think what we’re seeing is the result of years of fandom perversely helping to hype Harry up and kick Louis down.

Harries are the main, unconscionable, huge group that facilitated it— and I include Harries in influential areas of industry, from editors to critics to pop culture figures.

But Larries are a big part of this too.

They should take responsibility for it. I know they won’t, and sometimes they cause big damage and leave (or come back to double down on the damage).

From Louis’ perspective, as much as he has edited that part of his life away, it is impossible for him not to see his fandom saying— over and over, for years— that he didn’t want a solo career, he lied about having LT1, he wants Harry’s career to flourish, he sacrificed himself for Harry’s happiness, that Harry promised to “give up everything if he asked him to,” when the reality is so completely opposite.

It is impossible for Louis to meet roadblock after roadblock after a huge, international career, and not be affected somehow. It’s even worse to see his own fans perversely saying that he chose it, and it’s his lack of ambition or self-sacrificial nature or love, instead of admitting that there IS some objective abnormality.

As for Harry himself, throughout this solo era, he has emerged a mercenary and Machiavellian creature.

I used to love him as a teen and young performer, but I no longer expect him to have any extraordinary kindness or human goodness. I’m not expecting him to behave any differently than any other public figure— politician, pop star, etc. Maybe he’s neither better nor worse than anyone else, the Kardashians, Justin Bieber, etc. … just celebrities living in their own bubbles, insulated, invulnerable. Harry isn’t a complicated person. He’s quite simple and straightforward.

Harry has never had to suffer, so he has never needed to have empathy. Empathy is not crucial to his survival nor an intrinsic part of his character. So he’s efficiently eliminated it. His fandom doesn’t miss it. He, and they, are simple.

Louis… has empathy. He always had it, from the very beginning. His years of experience have taught him to value humility and to work harder in response to negativity. He has had to mentally tune out haters and “headlines that I can’t stand,” to ignore the negative noise around him and put his head down to keep working. Hard work, creating his own opportunities, words of kindness and support to his friends and colleagues, charity and generosity— all are simply part of Louis’ core make up.

But it all takes an emotional toll.

Fans should realize that Louis isn’t superhuman. He is a man, a real person. He jokes and checks in with us, but fandom is a double-edged sword. Louis leaves himself open to feelings, makes himself vulnerable— but this takes a toll too. We want him to perform for us. We’re impatient. We’re worried. We want results, good news. But Louis is one person, a single human being. It’s always good to keep that in mind.

this gives me impotence because clearly they don’t understand that louis and harry didn’t want to have a babygate, why the hell they would want to have one? do you think that one day the two of them got up and said “oh i want to use a woman and a baby to hide my sexuality of course because it's okay to do it and clearly i don't want to come out of the closet”? it’s OBVIOUS that they were forced to do it. besides, following this logic, they lied to us with their beards and used women to cover up their relationship because they wanted to, hahaha you can see that they don’t understand anything about contracts and they use the word “they wouldn’t lie to us” when it suits them.

this is literally a joke, how the hell are you going to consider yourself a larrie and think that “the industry is not that bad”? being larrie you should know perfectly that the music industry is capable of doing what they did to harry and louis and much more, for the music industry it’s never too much. there are thousands of cases where they did the same or worse things but of course, it’s not that bad!

this is like ??? i never understood why is “disrespectful” to doubt the paternity of someone like, pulling out the louis case, if i see that a family where everyone has blue eyes and are blond (parents, grandparents, uncles, etc) and a baby is born with brown eyes and brown hair clearly i’m going to think or is adopted or the woman cheated on the man, and it’s not that i’m a disrespectful for realizing that something doesn’t fit, i simply have reasons to think what i think. in the case of louis we doubt his paternity because we have reasons to do so and that doesn’t make us disrespectful?) i will never understand the “disrespectful” behind doubting about something (on any subject).

this is one is funny because they have the same face hahaha oh.... literally, the kid is photoshopped 😐 the amount of evidence that they photoshop him are countless and it’s not necessary to be an expert in photoshop or genetic to realize it. besides, whenever you say that they photoshop him, they come out with the genetics and clearly they don’t know how it works because i get traits from my parents, i don’t have the same face haha, they are two very different things and yes, there are people who have faces very similar to the one of their parents but it’s not common nor does it occur in all circumstances. to add, not just any blond kid with blue eyes is exacltly like louis :)

false, it is very possible. faking a pregnancy is neither impossible nor difficult (as we can see), there are many cases where it’s suspected that the pregnancy of a celebrity is false (not exclusively due to the issue of closeting but because maybe the woman is infertile and doesn’t want to say it) so it’s very possible haha.

the truth is, i would be more concerned about what the minor is going to think when he grows up and sees that his family used him to put in the closet a couple and earn money for that. let’s put it like this: you prefer to believe that the kid is “going to feel bad” because of seen teenagers analyzing their father's life and supporting briana’s family and running the risk that if you are wrong you were supporting people who used a minor to earn money or you prefer not to defend that family and in the case that you were wrong, the worst that will happen is that the kid will “feel bad” for seeing that they said that his father was not his father? in one case you support abusers and in the other you “make the child feel bad”... no possibility is nice but which one do they prefer?

The people of Peterhead were in the main loyal to the Sturts, and were involved in the Jacobite uprisings from beginning to end. The town proudly remembers the numbers involved and the names of some…..

In total the number of Peterhead folk called to arms in defence of the town were 138 men and 10 women – yes Peterhead women prepared to take up arms to fight for the King – Janet Dickie, Margaret Greig, Geills Scott, Margaret Dun, Elspat Mitchell, Janet Cruickshank, Mrs Walker, Elisa Bruce and Widow Bodie and Widow Brown. They were ordered to arm themselves with “ane sufficient gun charged with powder and bullets, and four spare shots besides, and ane sufficient sword” and to meet at the Cross on the appointed day, where they marched and took part in military drills. 7 Spanish cannons, salvaged from the St Michael in 1588 were taken from their position on the Battery at Keith Inch, pulled across the sand bank at the Quinzie (Queenie), and mounted on the Tolbooth Green, looking down Broad Street for the defence of the interior of the town.

On 9th September 1715 the Earl of Mar, appointed Commander-in-Chief by the exiled ‘Pretender’ King James, issued a Proclamation at Braemar signalling the start of the 1715 uprising:

“Now is the time for all good men to show their zeal for His Majesty’s service, whose cause is so deeply concerned, and the relief of our native country from oppression, and a foreign yoke too heavy for us and our posterity to bear; and to endeavour the restoring, not only of our rightful and native king, but also our country to its ancient, free and independent constitution under him whose ancestors have reigned over us for so many generations.”

On 25th October the exiled King James wrote to his supporters in Scotland: “We have not been able to look upon the present condition of our kingdoms, or to consider their future prospect without all the horror and indignation which ought to fill the breast of every Scotsman. We have beheld a foreign family, aliens to our country, distant in blood, and strangers even to our language, ascend to the throne.

“We are come to take our part in all the dangers and difficulties to which any of our subjects from the greatest down to the meanest may be exposed on this important occasion, to relieve our subjects of Scotland from the hardships they groan under and to restore the kingdom to its ancient, free and independent state.

“But we hope for better things. We hope to see our just rights and those of the church and people of Scotland, once more settled in a free and independent Scots Parliament on their ancient foundation.”

On 31st October (Hallowe’en), the Magistrates and Town Council of Peterhead met at the Tolbooth (near the present Tolbooth Wynd), under the direction of the Secretary to the Earl of Erroll (from Slains Castle), George Leith, who was also Major General of Horses under the command of the Earl Marischal, with an order from the Earl of Mar, Chief Commander of King James’s forces in Scotland, which he read – ordering twelve of their number “to be ready mounted on horseback with sword and sufficient firelock, tomorrow precisely at six of the clock, to be witnesses to the said Mr Leith, his requiring the Lord Saltoun (of Fraserburgh) to give all due obedience to the foresaid orders.”

On 1st November (All Saints’ Day), 16 mounted “fenceable men” rode to Fraserburgh to proclaim the King. They were George Leith (Secretary to the Earl of Erroll), Bailie Cruickshank, Bailie Arbuthnot, Thomas Forbes, James Whyte, James Park, John Thomson, George Cruickshank, Alex. Smith (merchant), Robert Smith, John Logan, John Taylor, William Jollie, Alex. Forbes, James Blair & William Ramsay. The band of armed Jacobites rode off north towards Fraserburgh to “require” the Lord Saltoun to obey the orders from the Earl of Mar in support of King James.

About half a mile short of Fraserburgh the Peterhead band met Lord Saltoun and “obliged him to stop until the General’s orders were read to him. ”It was demanded of him “what Party he inclined to join with” and that he “appear at His Majesty’s Royal Standard”. Lord Saltoun answered that “he regarded neither Mr Leith nor his orders more than a footman” and further said that “at a whistle, he could raise a hundred men and cause them to fight all there present.”

Bailie Cruickshank answered that he believed they wouldn’t see them at Fraserburgh, where they immediately went and “proclaimed the King with all the solemnity we could, which we found did oblige the most of the inhabitants of that town.”

A party from the group went in search of arms, which they found in the chamber of the Clerk’s house. They broke open the door of the chamber with “ane big hammer” and found 24 new firelocks, proof marked, and all with A.R. (Anna Regina) on them, all charged with balls and gunpowder. The arms were taken back to Peterhead and handed to George Leith for the General’s use.

Later, a party of Jacobites, led by Irvine of Crimond, captured Lord Saltoun and forced him to go south to join the Jacobite army at Perth. Fraserburgh was then occupied by a Jacobite garrison, which compelled the inhabitants to contribute towards the payment of the soldiers.

On 13th November both the Earl Marischal and James Keith fought at the Battle of Sheriffmuir near Stirling. The Earl Marischal was 22 years old, and his brother 19 at the time of the Battle. James suffered a musket ball wound in his shoulder and spent the night in agony at Castle Drummond.

James Francis Edward Stuart (King James VIII) landed at Peterhead late on the night of 22nd December 1715, suffering from seasickness and fevers after having travelled 7 days (5 or 6 days according to other sources) by sea from Dunkirk in a well-armed vessel laden with a cargo of brandy. He arrived with six other gentlemen, including James Francis Fitzjames Stuart, grandson of King James VII, and Lieutenant Allan Cameron (a son of Lochiel), whom he sent immediately to Perth with the news of their arrival.

James Stuart was 27 years old, and this was the first time he had set foot in Britain since his father was driven into exile in 1688 (when James was six months old). He had lived at the Scots Court at Saint-Germain-en-Laye near Paris under the protection of the French King Louis XIV.

At first the small boat crept along the shore and attempted to enter the River Ugie, presumably to get as near as possible to Inverugie Castle, but “the night was wet and late the tide”, so they instead landed at the old pier of Port Henry Haven. The unexpected visitors were graciously received at the harbour by the Earl Marischal’s representative – the Baron Bailie Thomas Arbuthnot.

According to contemporary accounts they were “all habited like sea-officers, and passed for friends of the Pretender, going to Perth for his Service”. The vessel was despatched back to France with the news of James’s safe arrival.

They stayed the night at what is now Park Lane, near the Longate – at the house of the Baron Bailie’s brother-in-law, Captain James Park, merchant and ship owner. Here James wrote a short letter, dated “Peterhead, December 22nd, 1715” to say “I am, at last, thank God, in my own ancient kingdom as the bearer will tell you with all the particulars of my passage. I am weary and won’t delay a moment the bearer.”

A local song which commemorated the landing of the King at Peterhead was sung for many years after this event.

“King James is land’t at Peterhead, an honour great to us indeed.The night was wet and late the tide, he couldna unto Ugie ride.He slept a night in our good town, upon a good saft bed o’ down.In the morning when he raise, the Marischal’s bailie brushed his claithes. He’s come to set auld Scotland free from cursed Hanover tyranny.”

On the morning of 23rd December King James left by horseback, past Buchanhaven and then west by the old turnpike that skirted the south bank of the Ugie, to Inverugie Castle to visit the widowed Lady Mary Keith, mother of the Earl Marischal.

He passed the next night at Newburgh before carrying on to Aberdeen, accompanied only by a handful of horsemen, in ill health and in disguise. A contemporary account reports “’Tis said the Pretender is very much indisposed since his arrival, which is imputed to the great fatigue he has suffered at sea, and otherwise of late.”

The Earl Marischal and James Keith met King James for the first time at Fetteresso on 27th December, making their way to Dundee on 6th January, James Stuart entering the town with the Earl of Mar riding at his right hand and the Marischal at his left.

On 7th January 1716, they briefly set up court at Scone and arrived at Perth on 8th January.

On 30th January, the King, along with the two Keith brothers, the Earl of Mar and other main supporters, made for Montrose, where the King sailed back to France on 4th February 1716 on the ‘Maria Teresa of St Malo’. James Stuart had been only 43 days on Scottish soil. The Earl of Mar accompanied him back to France and served as his Secretary of State until 1722.

I have not posted about 1d on here in a LONG time so bear with me. DISCLAIMER I am in no way making claims about anyone’s personal life, I have no idea (nor do they need to disclose) anything that goes on behind closed doors or the reality of any of the events I bring up. this is purely food for thought and a little bit of internet speculation for fun. Pls do not harass or bother any celebrity about their personal life, it is not your business, they do not owe you that. NOW moving on to the topic at hand, how many ‘coincidences’ have to happen before it becomes a pattern? Technically the answer is none, no amount of coincidences would make a pattern no matter how rare BUT if the coincidences weren’t actually by chance we would have a different story. So if you haven’t caught on, I am going to be talking about the common rebuttal for Larry Stylinson theories “it’s just a coincidence!”. Now what is a coincidence? By definition a coincidence is “a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.” The key words being ‘apparent’ and ‘causal connection’. By including the word apparent( meaning that something seems to be but actually might not be) the definition leaves a door open, that a causal connection may exist, but that hasnt been found yet. A causal connection is pretty much when one event directly causes another or when a person purposely does something to create an outcome, linking the outcome and the creator with a causal connection. So the difference between a coincidence and a pattern of behavior is intent. Did both parties not expect such an outcome and have no connection to the cause OR did they take action to cause a certain outcome? With this in mind, here we come across a problem, since we are outsiders looking in we have no ideas where the connections are and what are actual coincidences. We are not harry or Louis, I cannot tell you what they do or do not cause but I can guess! Many of the early days “evidence” seems to be a clear pattern of behavior for the two boys in question. They go out of their way to put their hands on each other, to sit next to one another, to lay atop each other, they were very hands on! For example, the clip where Louis stands from a couch and Harry sits up to wrap his arms around louis’s middle to drag him back down. Cause: Harry grabbing Louis. outcome: Louis and Harry being in extremely close proximity. These events are not coincidences, whether they hold secret meaning is up for interpretation but it is clear all these were actions they made knowing the outcome. Now other “evidence” is a lot more....iffy. A lot of these things in their own are very easy to write off as accidents or mistakes but together it seems pretty damning in our human brains. This is stuff like the 132 theory, the bus sex, wearing the same jacket and being in the same cities all the time. Since we do not know the truth I can’t tell you if Harry and Louis have just happened to have been in 4 foreign cities at the same time, or if it had been planned that way, there is simply NOW WAY for me to know which is actually true. So it’s not that all Larry ‘evidence’ are coincidences, it’s that nobody knows (except the men envolved) if they are or not. It’s left up to fan opinion and neither side can truly be right until someone decides 10 years is too long to remain silent. Coincidences can be proved or disproved but not without proper information. You don’t have to like Larry but don’t be as bold as to claim that it’s all a coincidence.you don’t know that and neither do I, don’t pretend.

She'd sung since she could talk. Her mother alway said that she could never get her to stop once she knew how and that memory always made her smile. She was addicted to Sing Star, her friends never understanding how she was so good and they were not. It was something that just came natural to her, something she didn't think twice about.

She had thought twice about a lot of things in her life and along with singing, her boyfriend Ben was another. Having met two years ago and shortly after entering into an exclusive relationship, Ben had quickly become her second vice. She wasn't known when they met, he more familiar to the public due to his character on Eastenders. In the two years they'd been together her career had grown, thrusting her full force into a farfetched level of fame that she had only ever dreamed about.

And although she had work commitments most days, more times than not often taking her out of London, her relationship with Ben still continued to blossom.

Ben always remembered the moment he met her as clear as day. They were in a coffee shop, her arms full from the orders of everyone in her office; she was the new receptionist. She had nearly dropped the tray but lucky for her Ben's reflexes were on point and he was able to stop them from falling out of her arms.

He was busy too though, filming 'Bohemian Rhapsody' where he was playing rock legend, Roger Taylor. She'd only managed to visit him on set once. And that once was basically her socialising with his co-stars who at the time hadn't realised she was dating Ben and naturally all freaked the fuck out.

"It's the way you're talking Ben!" Her voice was getting louder. He was being impossible. "You're speaking to me like I'm a piece of shit on the ground." She slammed the fridge door after having put the milk inside.

"Calm." His tone insinuated he was mocking her.

And besides, she could try a little harder with their relationship. To put it simply, Ben felt second, heck, he felt one hundredth best in her life right now.

"If you speak to me in that tone one more time, I'm leaving." She knew he thought her threat was an empty one. She even thought that maybe it was but she also knew that she had so many other places to go if Ben wasn't going to treat her right.

"You're not leaving," he put his phone down on the table and looked at her. She looked like she was about to burst into tears. Shit. Now he felt bad.

"If you're not going to speak to me in the way that I deserve then I will leave Ben. Don't tempt me, because I'll get my shit and I'll be out of here so fucking fast." She could feel the tears brimming the corners of her eyes and she was desperately trying to avoid his big eyes that were now heavily set on her.

"Stop acting like I'm some sort of abusive bastard," his accent was pronounced like it usually was when he spoke sternly, something she usually found charming, but not when it was directed at her.  "I treat you like a queen and you know it!"

"Then talk to me Ben!" She yelled, gesturing her hands at the blonde boy. "Tell me what the fuck is going on inside of your head because although I know you like the back of my hand I can't read your mind so I really need you to help me out here!" Her voice was breaking as she spoke to him. The tears having already fallen down her cheeks.

His anger had dispersed and made way for his guilt. He hadn't stopped to think that maybe all of this was getting to her too.

"I just miss you," he spoke lowly.

She raised her brows. "You miss me?"

He nodded. "You always have everybody wanting your attention. I never feel like I get to have you to myself anymore. There’s always paparazzi or fans or friends or whoever the fuck else," he explained. “I just miss the days when it was you and me against the world.”

Her heart broke a little at what he was telling her."Why haven't you told me you felt like this sooner?" She was stood beside the table where he was still sat in one of the chairs.

"No clue honestly. I guess I'm just not as used to all of this as you are."

Ahh the question we all want to know. Will madam face the public , attend services or ceremonies and risk being booed. I still cannot see a public booing at such somber days when we are to remember the fallen. On November 10th, l read HMTQ will view the services from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office building balcony. Perhaps this is how they got around a balcony appearance by madam! Brilliant!

a Congressional offer

The American federal government is made up of three co-equal parts. They are the Executive, (President and about 5,000,000 workers) the Legislative (Senate and House of Representatives) and the Judicial (Supreme Court and lower Courts). Currently, although it’s not in my time right now to follow but they are in a tumultuous impeachment process. I am not sure of any of the particulars. So what would the Congress have to offer the U.K. especially while their own country needs them paying attention. Is this in regards to Brexit? I have, and l try not to do this, but l have looked all over online, l can find nothing if an offer of this nature, recently. Has an offer been made regarding madams charges or custody? Again the Congress would not be involved in this. Sorry kids, l just don’t know. I am assuming this is the U.S. Congress, maybe l shouldn’t.

The light went on, sometimes when l am stuck, if l read it out loud it comes to me, as now. As stated above, the digital world is here and only becoming more important. Soon we will have things never even thought of today. I should have put these three clues together, oh well. Part I

I wonder if Faye feeds on everyone’s hatred for her or what, because she heads on into Donna’s office to ask for help with the massive amount of work she now has to do as the firm’s new managing partner, Donna greets her with predictable snark and sarcasm, and I swear I thought Faye was going to ask her for help finding a secretary but no! She asks Donna to help her get a handle on things.

Now, true, “You were the best secretary this firm ever had” is probably not the best way to convince Donna-the-COO to give her a hand, but everyone keeps insisting that this firm is woefully understaffed (despite apparently having plenty of associates and also enough clients to use some of them as bargaining chips), and as Chief Operating Officer, it’s Donna’s job to make sure the firm’s operations are running smoothly, so…if the managing partner needs a little help getting her work in order…it kind of is her job to get that done? I still think it would’ve been more reasonable for Donna to hire Faye her own secretary, but it’s not like she’s qualified to be COO, or doing…anything, at all, to deserve the position, so I mean. It’s just a couple of days and it’ll probably go a ways towards getting Faye off their backs, why not take one for the team?

On the other side of the floor, Alex and Samantha have some more weirdly endearing bonding time, and I admit I thought it was pretty funny when Alex told Samantha how important family is and she asked if he was trying to adopt her. Then he invites her over to dinner, pointing out how highly his wife and daughter think of her, she accepts, and this is definitely the first time I’ve actually kind of liked her as a character.

Harvey gets an impromptu call from Dan, that random CEO from before, who tears into him for taking out a full page ad (what is this, 2003?) bashing Faye’s old firm for endangering the future of Dan’s company, and seriously, who’s going to see that ad who’s going to, one, give a shit, and two, have any idea what it’s talking about if they don’t already know? Anyway Dan informs Harvey that his board fired him, Harvey exclaims that they can’t do that in the middle of litigation, and actually, he’s probably right, but who cares about logic, this is Suits, for crying out loud. He promises to fix everything, Dan threatens to sue him if he doesn’t (which I’m sure wouldn’t be long and drawn-out and expensive and totally not worth it), and Harvey immediately goes to Donna to bitch and moan about this situation that is of course in no way his fault. She tells him that Faye has her doing secretarial work, Harvey tries to storm off to tear into her, and Donna proposes that they go out to dinner instead to give him a chance to clear his head because they decided earlier that they don’t want Faye or their work troubles to come between them as a couple. Which I get, I mean, that’s sensible, but how is this Faye coming between them? Is Harvey being mad at her for asking Donna to do this work hurting his and Donna’s relationship somehow? Would Harvey not be pissed off and storm her office if he and Donna were still just friends? I can’t decide if this is him being chivalrous or patronizing, but I’m leaning toward the latter if for no other reason than that this show has a bad history of some pretty sexist sub-plots and throwaway jokes.

Katrina summons Susan to her office to reprimand her for disobeying her direct order by contacting that family friend of hers, and yeah, Susan should’ve obeyed her because she’s an associate and Katrina is a senior partner, but I still think it would’ve been a good idea for Katrina to tell her tell her up front why she didn’t want her to do it. Too late now, because Susan tries to blackmail her into keeping her on by threatening to tell Faye why Brian really left (he and Katrina had romantic tension, that’s why). I’m getting shades of “You put your interests above mine. I mean, I’m just putting mine back up next to yours” (s01e01); I wonder if this show knows how to do partner/associate relationships that don’t mirror Harvey and Mike.

Fast forward a little: Gretchen offers to do Faye’s work for Donna so that she and Harvey can “get [their] smush face on,” which, what does that even mean; Louis goes to bitch at Faye for stealing his secretary and we learn that she immediately saw through Gretchen and Donna’s ruse; Louis goes to complain to Gretchen and vow to get Donna back; she tells him not to do that because it was her choice to take the work on, he asks her where Donna and Harvey are so he can make sure they’re keeping Donna’s promise not to let their relationship interfere with his need for support, and she says he shouldn’t bother them and then immediately tells him where they are. Because logic.

On said date, Harvey and Donna are having a hell of a time talking about anything other than work, even though the entire point of this date is to not talk about work; they resort to “Water is wet” (Donna) and “Have you read any good books lately” (Harvey) before Harvey realizes that Donna reminds him of Ricky Garfield’s mom, a beautiful redhead he had a crush on when he was a kid. This is obviously an implication that Harvey has a “type” (that neither Zoe nor Scottie nor Paula matched, go figure), but it feels weird to me in a way I can’t quite put my finger on just yet. Something about infatuation or obsession or idealism or…something. I don’t like it.

Minor interlude to Alex’s house, where he and Rosalie reprimand Joy for backing Alex’s car into a lamppost and then lying about it and Samantha tries to blend into the refrigerator for a minute until they all sit down at the table for takeout Chinese. No, this is actually a good scene; it’s realistic without being too cheesy and incorporates the awkwardness without letting it ruin the evening. I still don’t much care for Joy, but the effort is pretty nice overall.

Harvey and Donna seem to have settled into some pretty easy banter as Donna confesses that she once thought she’d been poisoned by a Szechuan peppercorn; Harvey asks her what she did to deserve being poisoned, she says that’s neither here nor there, and he accuses her of being a black widow, at which point she corrects him that if she were the black widow, she’d be the one doing the poisoning. (Hold onto this for just a minute.) They keep up their irritatingly scripted repartee until Harvey has a brainstorm about how to save Dan, but he won’t deal with it until tomorrow because “tonight is for [them].” Then Louis calls Donna for that support he mentioned to Gretchen, she contemplates picking up, and Harvey talks her out of it, at which point we see that Louis is in fact at the restaurant and saw them ignore his call, and I get another flashback to him standing outside of Harvey’s office holding a poorly-timed cake meant to celebrate his and Mike’s success at working together just as Mike and Harvey decide to team up again. Poor guy. (I’m not sure if this show loves to self-reference or they’re just low on new ideas. Maybe both.) Oh, then Harvey says they should go to his place where he can pretend to be young Harvey and Donna can pretend to be Ricky Garfield’s mom and I think I’m starting to figure out what my problem with this is. (It has to do with idealization and romanticism and Harvey needs to go to therapy.)

Katrina asks Samantha how she knew when to give in when Katrina stood up to her, Samantha tells her she gave in when Katrina was right, and I’m so confused, does Samantha suddenly have a sense of modesty? Her character is so arbitrary, it’s giving me a headache.

The next day, probably, Harvey storms into Faye’s office and accuses her of having Johnson and Powell, which I guess is the name of her old firm, fire Dan during litigation thanks to a clause in Dan’s contract that allowed him to be fired during litigation. (Who the fuck would put that kind of a clause in their contract?) Faye denies it, asserting that a fifteen-minute phone call Harvey found record of in her LUDs (which he got…where?) was from Johnson and Powell rather than the other way around (which he should have been able to tell from the phone records) because, get this, they wanted to complain about what an asshole Harvey is. You know, in previous seasons, I might’ve taken offense at that, but at the moment, I think they’re really onto something. Anyway she invites him to subpoena her and points out that all he’s managed to accomplish thus far is getting Dan fired, so that’s gotta feel good.

Following up on the Katrina plotline, she escorts Susan to Faye’s office and boxes her into either disclosing the story about Katrina and Brian or dropping the matter completely; Susan ends up not ratting her out (for…not having an affair?) and Katrina admits that she was ambitious when she started out, too, but that can’t be all Susan has. I’m liking this dynamic, I hope Susan gets a redemption arc and sticks around awhile longer. (Not just for the overtones of Marvey, I also think it’ll be good for Katrina to have someone to mentor.)

Louis and Harvey have their final confrontation of the day as Louis declares that he’s taking that judgeship (that is not how that works), and Harvey clarifies that he and Donna ignored Louis’s call because they assumed it was about work, and also they weren’t laughing at him, they were laughing at some joke Harvey told right after they hung up on him. That’s all very well and good, but you know how earlier Harvey didn’t know what a black widow is? This time around, he’s unfamiliar with the phrase “tilting at windmills.” (It means to attack imaginary enemies.) I’m not saying that everyone has to know every idiom in the English language in order to be a functioning adult, but neither “black widow” nor “tilting at windmills” is especially uncommon, and the fact that Harvey doesn’t know them is…very jarring. Are they trying to make him seem dense? Out of touch? Socially inept? Did he entirely lose that part of his personality when Mike abandoned them? Is he faking it for some indiscernible reason? It feels to me like they’re trying to use these blind spots to make him seem more relatable somehow, or more likable, but for my money, it’s having the opposite effect as I’m finding it very irritating and out of character for him.

Samantha thanks Alex for bringing her over for dinner, declaring it precisely what she needed, kerfuffle and all, and confides that she’s been inspired by the fact that Joy is a perfect cross between Alex and Rosalie to find her birth parents. That’s nice, I guess? But…is she familiar with the concept of nature versus nurture? I don’t think this is going to turn out the way she wants it to. Also, I knew Samantha was a foster kid, but I didn’t know that she cared about her birth parents, and now she suddenly does with no buildup whatsoever, and I must say, I do not give a shit.

Donna shows up at Sheila and Louis’s place for a little bonding session, treating Louis to a “girl’s night” and promising him that tonight he’s “the most important woman in the room,” which is all very well and good but I can’t imagine it would’ve been any harder for them to say “tonight is all about you” and avoid making this into a whole gendered thing.

Finally, Harvey meets up with Faye yet again to cockily inform her that, as Louis reminded him, he’s the guy things always work out for; this time around, he convinced Kevin Miller (who’s apparently become the show’s official deus ex machina) to buy SensaTech, which I guess is the name of Dan’s company? And then rehire Dan because he built it from scratch. He seems to have also advised Kevin to allow SensaTech to keep Johnson and Powell as their legal counsel, thereby allowing Faye to save face (which I was unaware she had lost) if she’s willing to give Gretchen back to Louis. (Faye didn’t want Gretchen, she wanted Donna; it’s Donna’s fault Gretchen is working for Faye, because she wanted to skip out on work early to go on a date with Harvey.) Faye refuses, countering that he can resign if he wants to try extorting her; they each claim that they’re not going anywhere, and she closes out the episode with the line: “And for the record, you said you’d do anything to win this, but you haven’t crossed a single line. So as far as I’m concerned, I’m doing my job.” I guess she means that despite being resisted at every turn, she’s beginning to succeed at bringing them into line? But honestly, as a parting farewell, it really doesn’t have as much punch as she thinks it does.

I told you Louis wasn’t going to resign. Next time around, it looks like they’ll be going all in on the Darvey angle, so that’ll be…fun…

You wouldn’t see anything wrong with that. Like just admit you are here for a ship and go. Louis has clearly said that his music is about him. He’s the story. But between Elounors and Larries there’s almost no one in this fandom that is here for him and I’m so fucking tired of it.

There’s so much wrong with this ask that I don’t even know where to start.

It has never been ‘elounors vs larries’. There were never any ‘ship wars’ because neither larry nor elounor are not ships! Elounor is Louis’ actual real life relationship. Larry is a conspiracy theory. ‘Ship wars’ would be if liloes were fighting with nouies or zouies about which ship is better. 

I ship lilo, nouis and ot3. If I was there just for these ships, I would run a blog fully dedicated to the ship content - not to solo Louis. 

In every fandom I was in, fans who supported their fave’s real life relationships weren’t called ‘shippers’ - they were just called decent fans because that’s that decent fans do! Do fans of Benedict Cumberbatch who support his relationship with his wife and defend them against tinhats call themselves ‘shippers’? Do fans of Meghan and Harry who support their relationship and defend them against haters and conspiracy theorists call themselves ‘shippers’? I’ve been a part of Alan Rickman’s fandom for many years. 99,9% of the fandom supported his relationship with his wife Rima, there were many edits, gifs and other content celebrating them together, yet no one called themselves ‘shippers’ because of that, or claimed there’s something weird or wrong or improper to support your fave’s partner. Because there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s completely normal!

It’s larries who started this weird notion - when decent fans started calling them out for their shit, they started claiming that they were called out not because of conspiracies but because of a ship. That it’s not conspiracy theorists with reality but shippers with shippers. No, it’s not!!!

Is yoongi your fave in bts? I just today stumbled over a video of bts and watched and now 100 videos later i really think i kinda like them and especially Yoongi. He is such a sweetheart. so as a fellow 1d stan now into bts i wanted to know if louis was your fave and if yoongi is in bts? Cause i find it quite interesting to know^^'

ok so i have some esoteric ramblings that go far beyond the yes or no question you asked me here lmao... i guess im just feeling very “in this essay i will-” rn because of how much i truly adore both of them. also this basically turned into a personal diary entry but also simultaneously a cultural studies essay on how we make meaning in celebrities so like..... 🤷🏼‍♀️

so yeah yoongi is my bias in bts and louis was always my fave in 1d! (well zayn too but z isn’t a member of 1d - tho i think he relates to some of the points im going to make here as well) and coincidentally i’ve actually been doing like... some self-psychoanalysis recently just reflecting on what my affection for louis and yoongi says about me, says about them, etc... just been thinkin’ ya know?

and i just feel like yoongi and louis are 2 sides of the same coin and it’s a coin that i distinctly Relate to and i’ll explain why. both yoongi and louis have very distinct caricature-type reputations on the surface. both vis-a-vis their role in their respective groups and in relation to the personalities that we see/they show us. 

and what i mean by that is that louis is known as loud, brash, exuberant (formerly camp and flamboyant as well, though im not even gonna try to get Into A Discussion of That rn); to most people that do not take the time to go far beyond the surface, that’s kind of louis’ whole deal, right? (again this isn’t a discussion of public opinion of louis and doesn’t account for how his various stories/stunts/‘relationships’ would impact people’s view of him)... yoongi is sort of in the same boat but on the opposite end of the spectrum if that makes sense? he’s the tsundere member. he’s seen as cold, distant, has dry humor, doesn’t like to show affection, etc. that’s what the caricature of min yoongi is.

but everyone who is a fan of either of them knows that neither of those caricatures are wholly accurate and that the caricatures belie an emotional depth and intelligence that both of them very clearly possess.

we can never know even a fraction of public figures’ personalities, but to the small extent that we do get glimpses, yoongi and louis are both individuals who clearly care very deeply about others. they are attentive to the emotions of those around them and they are supportive and nurturing in their own ways. but at the same time neither of them are overtly touchy-feely about it if that makes sense? their empathy is exhibited subtly but it runs deep. their demonstrations of caring and compassion are nuanced behind layers of something else. 

for louis, i think there’s always a bit of humor layered on top of his emotional displays (i.e. giving liam a hard time about being a ‘lad’). and i see myself in that. i use humor as a defense mechanism and couch everything serious in my life in a joke, for better or worse. again, im not saying that that’s what louis is or does in real life, i’ll never know nor would i presume to, but i am saying that i see something of myself reflected in Louis Tomlinson™ and among a million other reasons to love him i think that is one of the reasons i’ve always been drawn to him. he’s so compassionate and caring but you have to make sure you’re not distracted by his bright loudness to miss it. in addition to seeing myself reflected in louis, i also admire so much about him that i am not but aspire to be more like. i wish i could be more extroverted like him and i wish i could be a bright presence for the people around me like i know he is. so with louis i see myself and i see traits that inspire me to go outside my comfort zone and push my own boundaries.

for yoongi, the soft sweet infp that he is, i think his emotional displays are equally as subtle and layered behind a bit of stoicism and a bit of introversion and a bit of being very carefully selective about who he lets in. his displays of affection and caring are alway there but are not done to be viewed and given great attention (i.e. his hand holding). i don’t think yoongi much likes being the center of attention and would much rather have his members be that (lol @ jimin) but at the same time he has moments where his energy just bursts forth. these are moments where he’s clearly so comfortable with his surroundings and the people he’s with that he feels no need to be measured or restrained. again, this is all my interpretation of what i see and is thus filtered and distilled so many times that i’d never presume to state all of this as some factual evaluation of yoongi’s personality, but also again, i see myself in these observations and interpretations of yoongi. i find it very difficult to express my emotions (see the above point about couching everything in humor) but they are there and they are felt deeply and they show themselves in subtler ways. i find it difficult to display affection with even my closest friends and family but am also just a touch-starved bitch looking to hold someone’s hand like yoongi is always doing. i too sometimes begin to feel comfortable enough with those around me that my passion and excitement just bursts forth all at once, but only sometimes, otherwise im hyper conscious of myself and tend to self-police if i have not reached such a comfort level. i see a lot of that in Min Yoongi™. but like with louis i also see a lot in yoongi that i strive to be more like. i struggle with the weight of my own expectations for myself and i internalize A Lot, as yoongi seems to, but yoongi also demonstrates such a clarity of self when it comes to these things. i think he Knows himself quite well, which is something i’d like to be better at. i think his self awareness (something i think namjoon also has in spades) and his work ethic are admirable and inspire me greatly. he just seems so Lucid Perceptive and Insightful about his situation, and that encourages me to be more honest with myself about my own situation.

and like maybe this is all just a diatribe that could be applied by anyone to their fave celeb? there’s levels to abstraction to every celebrity and there’s always interpolation/projection our own traits, neuroses, insecurities, desires, etc. onto how we view our favorite celebs... but idk there seems to be something slightly different with celebs like yoongi and louis (and zayn and namjoon actually now that i think about it). 

like let’s contrast it with other 1d and bts members: jin and hobi have carefully constructed the way they want to be seen and they don’t let people see much beyond that (and they’re So Valid for that). i actually think niall is quite a lot like this as well. the caricature is the whole picture that we get if that makes sense (though of course not even a fraction of the whole person which we are not nor should we be privy to) but its still a human picture, its still rooted in a sense and a feeling of authenticity; it just has its boundaries and is clear about those boundaries. thus the consumer public gets a discrete, self-contained persona whose likeability isn’t necessarily dependent on the consumer’s ability to relate or see themselves in the persona but rather is simply likeable!

then you have liam and jungkook who i see as quite similar in some ways for some reason (which im sure is gonna get me yelled at lmao). i dont mean that i think they’re similar people just that i think both of them are quite earnest and what you see is what you get with them. i don’t think either of them have it in them to pull a jin/hobi/harry (see below) and construct/be viligent about the boundaries of their persona. i think tae and jimin are mostly like this as well. they’re all just kind of unapologetically themselves (liam particularly after 1d ended, tho i know that, ironically, many feel he’s a bit of a poser nowadays)? i see these types of figures as similar to the type above just with less stable boundaries/less concern for those boundaries.

then you have harry whose caricature is constructed to be larger than life, to be almost non-human in its Celeb-ification. Harry Styles™ is not meant to allow for reflection of yourself in it. the consumer is not supposed to find parts of themselves relating to Harry Styles™, that defeats the purposes of the larger than lifeness of Harry Styles™. (i know this sounds bad and don’t get me wrong i do hate harry lol but i also don’t think this is an inherently Bad way to be a celebrity. it’s the david bowie, lady gaga [pre-joanne] school of celebrity and its fine, i just think it should be recognized for what it is and i think its very different from how bts and the other members of 1d operate [though i recognize that some people would view zayn in this light]).

personally i think yoongi and louis (and zayn and namjoon, to account for everyone in this analysis here) don’t fit into the above categories. clearly i dont think any of these four are in the Harry Styles™-type camp (duh). but i also don’t think they fit into the authentic-but-carefully-boundaried jin/hobi/niall camp nor the what-you-see-is-what-you-get liam/maknae line camp. i think these 4 occupy a limbo space between the two ‘categories.’

anyways, the long and the short of it is that we all make our own meaning in celebrities. for me, i find myself drawn to yoongi and louis because i see traits of my own reflected back at the same time and in the same person that i see aspirational traits. im inspired and im comforted by this duality that yoongi and louis provide for me. i love all the members of 1d and bts (except harry lolz) but yoongi and louis (and zayn and namjoon, who i’d say is my 2nd bias in bts if that wasn’t already clear) hold special places in my heart because of how they occupy my sort of nebulous fourth category of celebhood.

anyways, i’m pretty sure no one is still reading this, which i do Not blame you for, but that’s my two cents! i love min yoongi and louis tomlinson, whats new!!!!!!!!!
