The final frontier novelization is very interesting, the book touches a little more on Kirk's thoughts and how is grief is causing him to do things that are very dangerous (in an effort to NOT think) and its scaring bones
Which makes the convo they have with sybok more interesting - sybok is basically using therapy as a manipulation tactic to get people to follow him unconditionally. He may not mean it maliciously but it still is indeed a kind of brainwashing
Kirk looking at the possibility of therapy and trying to face the pain he's experiencing and he badically says "fuuuuck that my pain is what makes me who I am and I don't know where I'd be without it" which is so fucking sad!!! He's gone through so much loss and agony that he defines himself with it, which doesn't sound healthy at all

Ronja X Ranach pup design rant
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spare me as my English isn’t always the best and is not my first language. I’m still learning lol
Ok so, just because this has always bothered me. But I was randomly thinking of a scenario where one of Ronja’s daughters or all three met their father Ranach (Let's pray he’ll be dead before that ever happens) but how the heck is Ranach going to know that any of those three are his children. When they were first Introduced I was quite disappointed that none of the pups had any black in them. Plus Kique held a pup design contest where his patrons were allowed to vote on the designs and well they looked nothing like the final designs we have now that honestly just suck. They all look like completely different characters from different parents.
Concept Design's (Sadly never chosen. But look more like both parents)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
VS Final Canon Design's (I hate the random ear markings lol )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. they look nothing like Ranach or Ronja for that matter (Maybe Elvind at most)
2. Navea? Is just a pre-made bought design, so I highly doubt she’d be considered a “ cream agouti with snow ticking” as both of her parents have neither of those genes. Sure Ronja isn’t blood related to the Asmundr pack but still it wouldn’t work. If anything the black should have been the more dominant color for all three pups in general and it would have been way more realistic. And he obviously took the lazy route to create her lmao. Like kiq man, if you wanted that design in your DARPG comic, then you should of just made it into a separate character (not that we need anymore) 3. These dog’s noses are broken and aren’t smart enough to just sniff each other like actual fucking dogs. So I doubt he'll ever know
Also it’s stated in Rananch’s genes that he has pseudo-irish (how?). Ok so I’m not the best when it comes to genes in general so please correct me if I’m wrong. But it is very well known that his parents are Vandi and Areneak. From what we have seen they are both dark colored dogs, while Areneak does have some white in him. How would that pass into his pups coming out red looking. Granted we don’t know what his parents or vandi’s parents look like, but it just leaves me confused.
As for Ronja’s mother Zita, I guess it could maybe work? Though again Naeva’s design would still not be possible.
In my honest opinion, I feel like if Kiq really wanted to have these certain designs introduced, then it would have made more sense if say Ronja’s first encounter with MT went bad and was used by Areneak and by other males, including Ranach. Then the pups would have had multiple fathers, so of course the designs wouldn’t look all the same. But yes they could all be siblings for that matter but all looked unique in design of their own based on who their fathers were. It’s a real thing that happens in cats and can also happen with dogs. I know this from personal experience as I have fostered a pregnant dog before who had puppies that looked completely different from each other but the mother was the same.
Heck Kargo and his brother Ralek looked more like siblings compared to Rhov and Keirr these days. I preferred Keirr’s earlier design as at least at one point he looked like his mom.

Hauntings of the Mind
Some personal meta/background for Bloodstain/"It's all right." (and that last sonnet):
My best friend and guardian died when I was 8-1/2 years old. At night, before I fell asleep, I would usually see him walk past my door, doing his rounds of the house to make sure everything was as it should be.
I watched him die. It wasn't my hand that killed him, wasn't even my choice to make, but somehow I felt responsible. It wasn't even my first dead body, or even my first dead loved one, but it was the first time I'd witnessed the spark of life leave someone's eyes. The first time I'd felt the breath leave someone's body under my touch and not come back.
When I tell you my best friend and guardian was a cat, it doesn't matter. When I tell you he was 18 years old and ready to go, it doesn't matter.
I bargained with whatever god would listen to give him back to me. He wasn't even mine; he'd been my dad's best friend since he was a kitten. My pleas went unanswered.
My mom has told me her story of taking care of her father through his struggle with cancer. There came a point when it was clear he was never going to make it, but it was near Christmas time, and my grandpa was a stubborn fiend who refused to die on what was supposed to be a joyful occasion.
When January came, my mom bravely went to him and said, "It's okay, Dad. You can go now."
That was my first funeral. I was two years old then. And, according to my mom, I wouldn't leave the casket's side. This explains why I have such a vivid memory of looking down on my grandpa's waxlike hands holding a red rose. My grandpa loved roses. He tended them.
That's beside the point.
Around the time I was 13, I started having dreams that someday I would have to kill my romantic partner, whoever that would be. It wasn't so self-direct. I was a daydreamer and a reader of books, so I would make up stories. But sometimes they were only scenes.
And one of those scenes which plagued me was the image of someone kissing their lover, then stabbing him in the gut. They didn't want to do it; they had to. Tears streaking down their face, they apologized while the dying one looked on in shock.
I never really made the connection as to why.
Now, I'm married to a man who is nearly always struggling. He's chronically ill and terribly intelligent and horribly depressed. Inside of all that muck is a sweet, imaginative little boy who long ago lost his brother and his faith in all things. Now a grown man, he's also practical. Pessimistic. A bit obsessive-compulsive. He DM'd our Curse of Strahd campaign.
We both fear abandonment.
When his thoughts have taken a dark turn, as they sometimes do, he considers giving himself over to death. To not have to try anymore.
Early on, this terrified me. "But I'm here," I would think, never realizing my mistake, that it had never helped before.
And sometimes that image would come back to me unbidden: Would I have to kill him myself one day? If I couldn't bear the thought of him hurting himself, but if there was also little choice left in the matter, would I do the work for him, to retain some modicum of agency in our doomed relationship? There seemed to be little else I could do.
This was, of course, very distorted thinking. And I never did do that thing, and I suspect we never will go through that. We're getting better. And we're changing side-by-side.
But there were several times, probably yearly if I would have been keeping track, possibly close to the anniversary of his brother's death, when I wondered if and when I would be forced to put the man I love out of his misery.
Because I know what grief is. And I know regret, and rage, and despair. I know it hurts. And I know it's exhausting. I know.
And with the amount of perseveration that goes on in my anxious autistic head (or did, especially before I'd done any real healing, myself) I know that the inability to fix your own tragic mistakes, to correct for factors you couldn't have known about is devastating.
I know how an event can haunt you into eternity, throwing you into a repeat of that same moment, again and again, from something so little as the passing of a number on a calendar page, and still leave you bereft of any real closure.
The window glass is so horrifying because, even though you can see tragedy unfolding on the other side, there is little you can do about what you cannot touch, whether what you're reaching for is the past itself or the despair clouding another person's mind and heart.

My Future
Derek Hale x OC
Samantha, Stiles and Scott are always joking about the impossible. Who wouldn't when your best friend's dad is the sheriff of Beacon Hills? All jokes stop when they realize the impossible is indeed possible.
Tumblr media
Chapter 50: Crappy Reunions
Scott practically brought over the whole pack which went against Derek's wishes. The adults could hear the sound of two cars parking and laughter from the teens outside.
She was happy, from what he was hearing. She was okay. Why'd he bring them? How would she react?
What was their relationship like before those two left?
"Alright, alright, next time I won't drop you.", Sam says as she walks in with Scott, Stiles, Malia, Lydia, Kira and Liam.
"How about you just don't pick me up again? Pick Liam up next time!", Stiles offered, exasperated. "Why me?", Liam asked with wide eyes.
They paused as they saw the adults in the room. Sam's face immediately lit up to the sight of the Hale men, specifically Derek. She rushed to hug him. "You're back.", she muttered happily.
He gave her a short hug back and let her go. "We gotta talk."
Sam's face immediately turned into a frown as she looked behind him. She could see two men sitting at the table with her mom standing beside her who looked like she was almost on the verge of tears.
"What's going on?", Sam asked. Derek frowned in confusion. "You don't know them?", he asked.
Sam gave a little shrug. "Should I know them?" She looked at the men again, confused as to why they looked at her with such sadness and astonishment.
"They know you apparently. Brother, father?", Peter said. Sam's eyebrows furrowed as she scoffed a laugh.
"This has got to be a joke."
Everyone frowned at her and she looked around in confusion. "You guys are freaking me out.", she says and looks at the men again. "They can't be my dad and brother. I haven't seen them in years. My brother said my dad was dead. That can't be them.", she expressed.
The beta stood from his seat. "Faith, you don't recognize me?"
Sam's eyes darkened at the name as she turned to him. "Don't call me that. No one has ever called me that… since…"
Sam's shoulders dropped as she looked at the men once more, scanning them over. It couldn't be. It couldn't be them.
They looked so different. Way different from what she remembered.
She didn't want it to be them. Why? Why now?
"You're Jayson?", Stiles spoke up. The beta nodded. Sam stared on as Stiles continued.
"Why'd you come back?", he asked. Jayson frowned at the boy's nerve to ask such a question. "Because I wanted to come back to my family. Is that so hard to believe?"
Stiles scoffed. "I can't believe this."
"Why'd you leave to begin with?", Derek asked. Jayson glared at him too. "It's none of your business. What's with the third degree?"
"Hm. Let's see. Maybe because after about 9 years, you disappeared and hadn't come back until now. That's not weird to you?", Stiles asked.
"Why did you come back…?", Sam whispered, causing the room to quiet down. Jayson looks at Sam who looks at him with glossy eyes.
"Why? Why'd you come back? Why'd you bother?", Sam asked.
Jayson frowned softly. "We needed help, Sammy.", her father replied. "Help with what?", Scott asked.
"This is family business.", Jayson told the young alpha.
Sam stepped in front of Scott. "Family? You wanna talk family?"
She pointed at the pack behind her. "They – they have been more of a family than you two. They didn't abandon me."
Sam's father frowned and looked down at his hands. "There's been reports of missing people that were tracked 5 years ago and continue. I don't know if the sheriff's department isn't doing such a good job at finding these missing people, but we've been trying to stop it.", Sam's father informed.
Stiles frowned deeply at the man's accusation.
They had just dealt with the beast, it could've been because of that. That didn't mean he had to blame his father's work.
"We came across someone who was running away from Beacon Hills, warning people of a woman who kidnapped people and took their life force to make herself younger.", Jayson said.
"Why did you need Sam's help?", Derek asked. "We were gonna offer her to join our pack.", Jayson replied.
The room immediately turned tense after the beta uttered his words.
Derek glanced back at Sam, his eyes widening as he saw Sam's demeanor.
Tears silently dripped down her face as her face dropped in sadness. Her eyes were glossy, but held a distant look in them. She looked like a little kid who stood frozen in fear.
However, it wasn't the smell of fear that came off of the girl. It was resentment. Pure sadness. Anger.
He watched as she glanced at the men behind him. "So you thought you could get me to turn into a werewolf to help you fight? After years of not being here?", she muttered in disbelief. "You thought I'd be okay with that?"
"We knew you probably wouldn't have said yes.", her father replied. Sam wiped her eyes and cheeks. "I can't believe the nerve you two have."
She shook her head. "You two shouldn't be here.", she said, walking up to them. "We're done here. I don't wanna see you two. Ever."
Jayson's face contorted into disbelief and sadness. "You don't mean that. Sammy–"
"I said what I said.", Sam interrupted him. "We were done the moment I grew the fuck up and realized what the hell actually happened."
She watched as Jayson's eyes glossed over, recognizing them as tears.
"You're crying? You're seriously crying?", she scoffed and pointed at her mother. "Where the hell were you when she was crying over you two, begging to God to have you two come back home every night, huh? Where were you then?"
She pointed at the older man in front of her, "Instead of you being a man and staying with your wife, you decided to run away from your responsibilities and now look at you. You got bit and for what? When all you had to do was just stay and listen. To be a father! A husband!"
She shook her head. "You couldn't even do that right.", she muttered before looking at the beta in front of her. "And you. With no sense of fucking direction, you blindly left with no knowledge of where he could've been and assumed he was dead!"
She pointed at the alpha. "And what, you got yourself bit too?"
"I left because I was out of work. I didn't actually believe in your mom and what she was saying about this place. It seemed crazy to think supernatural things were happening.", Sam's dad said. "Ghosts, maybe. I could believe angry spirits or haunted places. But beasts? Bigger than a bear? That wasn't worth a thing."
"You couldn't even stay just because. You didn't have to leave. You wanted to.", Sam said. "And somehow you got him caught up.", she said, pointing at her brother.
"He followed me back to Texas. He figured I'd be back home and he was right.", her dad said.
"The alpha that bit me was apparently traveling everywhere, gathering all types of betas from different places, but I couldn't take it anymore. I stopped him once he bit enough people in Texas and I had to kill him.", her father defended. "From then on, I gathered those people in my own pack."
"You should've stayed there.", Sam said, coldly. She shook her head. "You have your beta, your own pack and you two seem to be doing just fucking fine."
She paced. "There's absolutely no reason why you two had to come here. News flash, I've already been bitten and not only that, I've been surviving without you two.", she said, shocking the two.
She looked down. "The problem is, I shouldn't have had to survive. There's–" She had to pause as the lump in her throat rose.
"There's so much that you two don't know and yet you had the nerve to come here and act like we were just gonna be one big happy family.", she croaked.
Everyone else looked at the men in shame, whilst Sam's mother couldn't help but weep silently.
Sam couldn't stop her eyes from bubbling with tears as she struggled to find the words to say. "I needed you.", she says to both men. "I needed you at my breaking point. I needed you here to protect me… and you weren't h-here. Neither of you."
"Faith…", Jayson stood and Sam took a step back. "If there was a chance that we had, we would've come back as quick as we could. We love you.", he promised.
She shook her head. "No. No, you don't.", she said. She swallowed. "You didn't come here out of love. You came here because you needed to finish something that had nothing to do with you."
"We do love you.", her father said. "I would've stopped at nothing to make sure you were okay if I had the chance."
She shook her head. "Stop telling me you love me. You don't leave your family out of love.", she said and turned to her brother. "You don't blame those you love over something that's out of their control! That's not love! You don't love me!"
Sam hiccuped as tears flew down her face, "You had plenty of chances. And all you had to do was just stay.", she whimpered.
"I wanted you to stay and you didn't!", she exclaimed brokenly. "I would've never done what you did! I would've never left!"
The men looked down shamefully. Derek could only stay silently angry as Sam yelled at her relatives. He didn't have a say in anything. Hell, he understood why she was so angry. Not even just angry, but distraught that they hadn't even bothered to tell her that they'd missed her.
The rest of the pack glared at the men and Scott was ready to dismiss the men. However, the anger in Stiles' eyes stopped him from saying anything.
He knew it was best to let Stiles just say what he had to now.
"I begged. Begged for whatever force in the world that would bring you two back. Even one of you was enough. Would've been enough. But you didn't show. Neither of you and I broke.", she whimpered.
She shook her head. "I would've never...", Sam sobbed.
Stiles pulled Sam into his arms, glaring at the men. He was fuming from where he stood. He hated seeing her like this. It was unfair.
They didn't even bother welcoming her with open arms. That wasn't their plan from the get go.
Sam sniffled into Stiles' shoulder until the boy passed her to Derek. He couldn't keep it in anymore.
"Take her to her room.", Stiles told Derek. Derek nodded and carried Sam to her room. She couldn't stop crying. It was unfair.
If they had been strangers, she'd be up to helping, but they didn't seem to have missed her at all.
Derek entered her room and closed the door, carrying the girl to her bed and held her in his lap. "I'm sorry...", Derek muttered in her hair.
He grunted in pain as he watched his arms darken with blackened veins. He was taking her pain away.
This whole thing must've really hurt her.
Sam looked up at him. "What's wrong?", she sniffed. "You're in pain. A lot of pain.", he replied. She looked at him in fainting confusion. She wasn't physically hurt, but she did feel gradually tired and internally relieved in a way.
Derek caught her drooping eyes and sighed in relief as the pain dissipated from both of them. He wiped her tears as her eyes slowly closed and placed his lips on her forehead as he rocked her.
Once Stiles heard the door closed, he turned his attention to the men. "I can't believe you two.", he sneered. His fury caused him to lose his composure a bit. "This entire time, that girl has cried for you two. For years. She finally stopped when we got to middle school."
He shook his head. "The only reason why she stopped was because of a man that hurt her. Real bad." He looked at Sam's mom. "And none of it was your fault.", he reassured before turning to the men who looked at him with wide eyes.
"11 years old. I've never seen her so scared to ask for help. I remember seeing her come to school with bruises that our teachers couldn't see or just didn't notice.", he said, his eyes glossing over immediately at the memory.
"The man's name is Carl Smith. If there's one person you should want to get after, to do right by her, you go after him. Because he broke out of jail a couple of weeks ago.", Stiles informed, making Scott and Sam's mom look at him in shock.
"I couldn't even tell her. I couldn't. I don't want to put her in a position where she feels like she'd have to hide from this guy.", Stiles said and closed his eyes, trying to fight back tears.
"It wasn't fair. She endured so much for too long. She didn't want me to tell my dad. And for a while, I didn't. I promised I wouldn't but I couldn't stand the fact that she was getting hurt in ways a kid shouldn't. That stopped when I saw her face that day.", he muttered, and clenched his jaw.
He set his hardened eyes on the two men who looked at him in shock. They looked sick.
Stiles continued. "I had to get that creep behind bars. She was… damn near killed because he couldn't register no into his brain. So he beat her and left her home. I thought it was weird because neither me or Scott had seen her show up. I was worried so I called my dad and had him check up on her."
He paused as tears beaded in his eyes.
"He got lucky to get there as quickly as he did because she was unresponsive. Had to be rushed to the hospital and they found the guy in a bar, drinking as if he didn't do anything wrong.", he said, looking at his feet.
He shook his head. "She begged for you two to come back. Pleading and promising that she'd do better if you came back. Apologizing for making you two leave even though it wasn't her fault. She needed you two.", he said, glaring at the men before him.
The girls glared at the men, their own eyes shiny with tears.
Scott glared at the alpha, his resentment for his own father projected onto Sam's. Liam stood beside him, upset over the fact his older packmate had gone through so much.
Peter was just as angry.
He knew what he did was pretty messed up. He knew after biting Sam, she didn't deserve that. She didn't deserve to be wrapped up his family business and here she was, having issues with her own family as well.
Stiles' words reached Derek's ears even through the closed bedroom door. He had long rocked Sam to sleep, grateful that she was so she wouldn't have seen his flickering blue eyes glossed with his own tears as he listened in.
He laid her on her bed, looking over her before silently leaving and walked downstairs.
Standing on the stairs, he glared at the men. "I think you two need to leave. It'd be best.", he said, clenching his jaw.
Jayson blinked back tears and nodded. He gave his mother an apologetic look before following his father out of the house.
Sam's mother let out a quiet sob and sat down at the table. "My family's falling apart and it's my fault.", she wept.
Stiles immediately went to comfort her. "It wasn't your fault. You didn't know. You were just worried.", Scott said, walking up to her.
"I shouldn't have said anything at all. I think living in ignorance would've been better. She wouldn't have gone through all of that if I hadn't said anything from the beginning.", she disagreed.
"I couldn't shake the feeling that something was happening in Beacon Hills. I wanted to leave. When I heard about wild animal attacks, I thought it was weird. I got worried that the kids could've been in danger even by themselves. Even if they weren't in the woods.", she explained.
Lydia had gotten her tissues and Sam's mother took them appreciatively. She wiped her face and continued. "At the time, Jax was a reporter, and it was hard to make any good stories to gain attention which meant we hardly had money. So when I told him about what I felt about the wild animal attacks, he thought I was messing with him."
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"It's not wild animal attacks. Bears, maybe, but there's something strange here.", Denise had told Jax.
"You're going insane and it's gonna upset the kids.", Jax replied, taking another swig out of a bottle of beer.
"I'm being serious.", Denise said. "There's something out there! There's something wrong with this town. My mom won't even explain, she's making it seem like this town has no problems."
"Your mom's a nut job and this town is just old. There's nothing wrong!", Jax yelled, making Denise look at him with furrowed eyebrows. "I'm already on a tightrope here and this isn't helping. This is shit."
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
She shook her head. "The only reason why I didn't believe it was a bear is because bears don't roar that loud. Not like a howl.", she said, looking at the teens.
Everyone else in the room understood what she meant. "He didn't believe me. I had to go to my mom to tell her and she finally told me exactly what I needed to hear. I wasn't crazy.", she said.
"But Jayson… Jayson didn't like it. He didn't like that his dad wasn't around. Jax left and Sam had no idea why. A year had passed and Jayson left after he graduated.", she explained.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"You can't keep lying to Sam about why your marriage fell apart.", Jayson said as he packed his things.
Denise looked at her son sadly. "She's only 8, Jay. She wouldn't understand. Both of you. You're both too young–"
Jayson glared at his mother. "To understand? Dad left us because he couldn't stand your nagging about some made up thing in this town. We've only been here for almost two years and nothing happened. He was right. You've gone crazy." He turned back to his baggage and zipped up his last suitcase.
"Jayson–", Denise tried but Jayson brushed her off and snapped his attention to her. "Dad could be out there dead! And here you are making up shit instead of going out there and looking for him!"
He shook his head as he backed away. "You and Sam can stay here for all I care. Let her deal with your shit."
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
She turned to Derek and Peter. "When I heard what happened to your family, I knew it wasn't just a random fire. A house in the woods, suddenly on fire?"
She shook her head with furrowed eyebrows. "It wasn't a kitchen fire or an accidental barbeque fire."
Derek nodded, silent. "That's not something that just randomly happens. 11 people in one house couldn't get out? In a house you knew so well? I knew it wasn't just random. The news made it seem like it was random, but I knew it wasn't. My mom especially knew."
Derek and Scott's eyes widened. "Your mom knew the Argents?", Scott asked.
Denise nodded. "I found out that they were her best customers. Wolfsbane, silver, Mistletoe, etc. She had it all for every single supernatural thing she could think of. But she wasn't doing it just for them. There was a price for everything."
"And after finding out that Kate Argent set the Hale house on fire, she stopped giving them things."
She sighed. "That's why I asked for her help. If she had anything that could protect Sam. She told me to do my own research. To train myself to protect Sam. I couldn't focus on training myself, though. I felt lonely."
Denise wiped her eyes once more. "That's when I met Carl. He made me happy and for a while, I could finally train myself because I felt whole in a way."
She shook her head. "The worst part was, I hadn't noticed Sam's behavior had changed. She even approved of me finding partners just so I'd be okay and she'd just love them the same. But until Carl had come into our lives, she grew distant. Didn't want to be around me. Didn't talk to me for long."
She shrugged, "I thought it was because of me. I didn't realize the only reason why she stayed distant was because of Carl. He was in every room I was in and she avoided contact."
Her lip trembled. "I should've noticed sooner. I should've stayed home that day. I should've taken her to school.", she croaked then looked at Stiles. "And every day, I'm so grateful you were there for her.", she said, patting his hand that rubbed her shoulder.
He could only give a sad smile back.
Denise looked at Derek. "When you two told me she was bit, I felt like I had failed her.", she said, making Peter look down.
"But when I saw her smiling about it… I felt relieved in a way. She seemed stronger, happier, better.", she finished.
Her eyes teared up once more as she looked at all of them. "I appreciate you all for watching over her. Thank you for taking care of her.", she said, giving them a watery smile.
Scott gave a smile back, "I think she's been the one taking care of us."
Stiles smiled in agreement. "Always. Even when she didn't have to." Everyone else came to an agreement.
"She's way stronger than you think. Even after all that she endured, she came back stronger. You raised her to be the best person she is now.", Derek told Denise. He gave her a smile. "She's… amazing."
Denise let out another sob, making Stiles playfully scold Derek. "Now you got her crying again!"

Hmm... you like MHA, correct? I'm curious what you think about the Todorokis then.
Well.
Endeavor: Ugly man. Disgusting. Almost worse in my mind than Cassius Sencen. Worse than him. You treat your kids like crap??? You treat your children like weapons in front of me??? Then I will never forgive you, and your kids whose lives you ruined after you gave them intense psychological trauma shouldn't have to either. Screw off, and screw yourself, idiot. I mean *cough* I don't much care for him. I also hate the "redemption" arc he's getting. Like, firstly, why did it take so long for him to have this change of heart. Why did it take like, his wife going insane, his son going insane, his other son being abused for years, the rest of his children being neglected for years, and then being faced with his insane eldest son who he high-key thought was dead to start this redemption arc? Like, i get that sometimes people are thick-headed, but this felt wrong. Moreover, I don't mind a redemption arc when it's done well, but Endeavor's has happened too quickly, and it's too forced to feel real. His change of heart feels shoved in there like a "Time for Shoto to feel bad about hating his father!!!" kind of thing, which is always bad. Like, seriously. His dad verbally, emotionally, and physically abused him for years, very actively, and made him have major trauma from that, and now that Endeavor's like "uwu im sowwy" Shoto feels awful because for a long time, the only way he's been able to deal with Endeavor's crap is to pretend like his father doesn't care about him, doesn't want what's best for him, doesn't want his approval or forgiveness. And when Endeavor wants approval and forgiveness(like a lil' bish), Shoto feels awful because, what's he supposed to do? He's built up this persona in his head of who his father is out of self preservation, and his father wrecks that, and acts all wounded and hurt whenever someone insults or hurts him. It's just... shady. And gross, imho. Like, idc. Maybe other people have different opinions on the whole arc. I just really do not vibe. Like, sir. Leave your children alone. If you feel bad for what you did, give them time, space, actual apologies, and freedom. Don't. Force them. To be around you. Like. Come on. I don't care that you're having feelings about not being around them. But guess what they don't want to be around you anymore. Ok, except for maybe Fuyumi, but she can deal with it. Your children who you've excessively traumatized are not validators for your emotions. Get out of here. Goodbye.
Rei: I don't like her all that much as a character. But I know she's been through a lot, and I can understand her actions. She's fine. Not the best mom, not the worst. Nyeh.
Touya: Oh man. Oh man. Oh man. Oldest child is a golden child-to-invisible child pipeline. Oldest child starts out as a perfect and powerful creation. Oldest child finds out his power isn't what his dad wants. Oldest child trains and tries and tries and tries to make himself into what his dad wants. Oldest child ruins himself for parental approval. Oldest child puts entire life in the hands of someone who doesn't care about him. Oldest child realizes he will never be as "loved" as his littlest brother. Oldest child stops getting noticed, except in bad things. Oldest child realizes that he never meant anything, he's never going to be anything, and he will never be loved by his family. Oldest child is in severe mental and emotional distress. Oldest child fakes his death and runs away. Oldest child spends the rest of his life trying to make his father suffer for the way he was treated. Oldest child... has a point. Oldest child murders tons of people violently. Oldest child needs therapy. And possibly some jail time.
Fuyumi: Older sister trauma but is coping by making other kids' lives better than hers was. Just wants everyone to be okay. Aaah. Stop being relatable. Also, just. Side with your siblings, love. It'll make you feel better about your choices in the long run.
Natsuo: LET. THE KID. BE ANGRY. He was cheated out of a happy childhood, watched his siblings get emotionally and physically abused, and he's angry now. And that's completely valid. Like, this character is just completely valid. Heck yeah, insult your dad to his face. Your father hasn't earned your respect and he sure as heck cannot expect it. Moreover, I feel like Natsuo is just generally annoyed with everyone. He's annoyed because Shoto doesn't know how to use slang, he's annoyed because Fuyumi's too nice, he's annoyed because his mom went insane, he's annoyed because Toya's sort of kind of dead, he's annoyed. Let the kid be angry. He needs therapy, but he's doing okay.
Shoto: Oh. This kid has been really hurt. But hey, he's gonna be a hero, and he's doing his best. Like, honestly, I don't think there's much more that we can ask of this kid, just like I don't think there's much more we can ask of Izuku before both of them become vigilantes and join the LOV out of spite and pain. Like, yeah. Todoroki Shoto is a piece of work, but he is doing his gosh diddly darn best. And it's very inspiring, honestly, if an anime character can be inspiring. Like all the crap he's been through? Being pushed to be a hero since the day he ws born? Decides to be a hero anyways, but decides to be the kind of hero that makes people feel safe. Told he's going to be more powerful than All Might? Works at it crazy hard, isn't afraid to have(mostly) healthy rivalries with his classmates. Neglected and never had any real friends or contact with actual humans? Has a ton of friends now, whether he wants them or not, and is a king at cracking deadpan jokes, whether he thinks they're funny or not. Like, this boy. He's doing so much. I'm so proud of him, honestly. Like, I think he's got some internalized trauma, especially about how much of what he went through can be blamed on him, but like, really, this 15 year old super hero trainee is doing really well for what he's had to go through. I'm honestly like so proud of this kid.

A Call From School
Chucky got a call from the school, it was about Glenda. They didn't specify what, but they told him to get over there as soon as possible. He arrived at the school and everybody took a step back from him. They all secretly hoped Tiffany would be the one to show up. However, she was busy tending to a sick Glen who had a high fever that morning. So they were greeted by the presence of the redheaded killer.
"Uhh....."
Chucky normally would find this amusing and downright hilarious, but at the moment he just wanted to see his daughter.
"Oh, S--Sorry. She's in the other room."
"Which ROOM?"
"T---The N---Nurses office Sir"
"WHAT?"
Chucky was in full protective dad mom and he wanted to run to the Nurse's office. However, he didn't know where it was. Nobody in the room would point him in the correct direction. Now he was furious at the workers. All of them were terrified to speak up and frozen in fear. His patience had run out and if no one was gonna give him answers the civil way, well he was gonna take another approach. He shoved one of the workers against the wall and looked him dead in the eyes.
"WHERE'S MY LITTLE GIRL? WHERE IS SHE?"
"I'M SORRY!!! PLEASE JUST PUT ME DOWN AND I'LL SHOW YOU!!! PLEASE JUST LET ME GO!!!"
Chucky gave the guy a final glare and drop him.
"T---This way"
The two of them rushed to the Nurse. When Chucky saw Glenda he practically shoved the guy out of the way and ran to his daughter.
"GLENDA! SWEETHEART! Are you ok? What happened"
Everyone, there was taken aback by the sudden change in his tone and body language towards Glenda. He went from threatening and horrifying, to sweet, caring, and soft with his daughter.
"What happened?" He said turning his attention to the nurse.
"W---Well, she fell off the monkey bars and hit her head. One of the kids saw her on the ground.....unconscious"
Chucky's expression grew worried as he looked over at Glenda.
"We gave her some ice and let her rest here. It was a high fall, and it resulted in a mild concussion."
Chucky's concern grew for his daughter.
"Daddy, my head hurts"
Chucky just held onto her tighter, cradling her within his grasp.
"We're going home. You can relax there with your brother. Ok?"
"Ok"
Chucky checked his daughter out of school and the two of them went home.
"Huh, who knew"
"Who knew what?"
"That Charles Lee Ray, is actually a good father. Did you see how he changed his persona like that?"
"Yeah, I thought I was gonna die."
"Yeah man, I thought you were a goner."
"And I thought, he wasn't gonna give a damn about the girl"
"Yeah"
Back to The Rays
"Glenda! Are you ok Sweetface?"
"She fell at school. She has a concussion"
"What! Come here precious."
Chucky carefully set Glenda down next to Glen and Tiffany and turned on some cartoons. Glen was knocked out and quietly snoring.
"Can I watch Scooby-Doo?"
"Whatever you want kid"
"Sweet"

Why do you think Capcom refuses to give young girls happy endings? We see this in Manuela and Evelyn. Let the girlies have a nice ending. (Yes I would love to see a happy ending for my girl Evelyn. Poor baby got robbed and we're supposed to see her as irredeemable because she was treated terribly and had truama :<) Evelyn deserves to have been adopted by Ethan and Mia. Big Sister Evee.
Why do I think that? I really don’t know. I would like to talk about it though so I’ll use this image I made for my list of examples
Tumblr media
None of these girls get a happy ending. Not really.
Lisa is the most obvious, she’s an “enemy” that you have to continually fight during 1 and even though you don’t personally kill her, she still dies at the end. Her entire life since being kidnapped was misery, for over 2 decades, she received torture and experimentation and no relief, no compassion from anyone
Emma is a small character, but for once the narrative is actually aware that her story is sad and is respectful to her because of it. She’s infected, there’s no saving her, her father shoots her to protect her. The story gives the scene its proper weight, and the point of it is to show how dire and sad this situation is, how innocents get hurt
Sherry doesn’t get a happy ending. Sure she’s saved at the end of 2, but she’s taken out of a home of controlling parents and then locked up for 11 years. No freedom, because she’d be in danger, but still. Once it’s deemed that she’s “safe” to leave her prison, her only “freedom” is by working for the man who kept her locked up, who uses her loyalty to him for nefarious purposes. Also her genetic structure is permanently fucked in the dumbest possible way according to the narrative, she will never age and can never die. I guess Capcom didn’t see how incredibly fucking sad that was
Alexia is the first “villain” on this list. While you could argue that being raised by bad people and inter along those values is not her fault, you could also argue that she and her brother still used these values to commit a terrible thing on their father and themselves. And then you remember their father brought Alexia and Alfred into existence as a vanity project, and Alexia was only 12 years old when she went into cryo sleep. And when she woke up, the first thing she saw was her brother, the only person she loved, dead. And then she’s killed because of her bond to Veronica
Manuela is another character with a life of nothing but suffering. Her mom “dies” when she’s very young, she’s diagnosed with a fatal virus, she has to deal with another virus in her body which is meant to keep her alive, as well as deal with the guilt that her father killed innocent people to keep her alive as well. She’s 16 when she almost dies several times, finds out what her mom mutated into, has to watch her father die, and accepts her own death before Leon saves her. And then she just gets locked up again
Natalia seems to get a happy ending, but the narrative can’t allow for that, so instead they make the ending creepy and ambiguous if they want to pull out another villain later on. She watched her parents die in front of her as a child, was essentially kidnapped after that, used by a eugenicist for experiments, had her body and mind invaded by an adult who wanted to control and use it, and when she escaped she was, best case scenario, still dealing with the trauma of what happened to her, and worst case, never actually healed and her life was still in danger
Dahlia and Dolores are a classic “they died before the story happened so their stories don’t mean much” and they’re more of a storytelling element than characters (even though that’s what characters are lol) but I think the biggest thing is that the story thinks these two are creepy rather than sad. Ooooh a dried up dead body, isn’t that sooo scary?
Eveline is…well I’ve already spoken at length about Eveline and I’m sure you’re all tired of hearing about it. But the DLC just feels incredibly mean-spirited towards a character who arguably deserved a happy ending, and who still has the potential to be given one, but the dlc goes “oh actually she’s been suffering for 20 years and never gets comfort or to be happy” it really sucks
So after all that, why do I think Capcom does it? Honestly, I think it’s mostly because they aren’t aware that these stories are tragic. Lisa, Alexia, and Eveline are villains, because their backstory is either hidden in files no one reads, so the average gamer is just going to remember them as the freaky boss they had to fight. Sherry, Manuela, and Natalia are objectives. Their story is sad, but they are meant to be rescued by you, giving them a happy ending, but the story just shows you the happy escape, and when you look at the wiki (fuck the wiki btw) you see the ends of their stories are ambiguous/sad and we never see them again, so we don’t know if they truly got that happy ending. Emma, Dahlia, and Dolores are just props for storytelling. The narrative offers as much sympathy as necessary before moving on without much thought to the weight those scenes could have had (Emma I think is treated respectfully though) Bottom line, I don’t think they know this is sad. I wish Capcom knew how to 1) write young girls, that 2) get real happy endings

episode 5: the mad woman
keeping tabs, paying dues
everything has a price - for the rich to buy, to take and take. it affords them convenience and comfort. for the poor, every opportunity to name their price is an opportunity to earn.
it is the next day. bingo needs his money back that he keeps tabs on caroline at every turn, for the smallest of details. caroline mindlessly promises to return his money. he asks how can be sure. she keeps her word, that is enough. as tight fisted as bingo is with his money, caroline makes promises with that much ease.
still unsure about her word, he decides to become her shadow for the day, as she pulls some strings, as she figures out her next move and who to trust.
she calls her friends, and only stephen answers. he will loan caroline the money on the condition that he will return her home. she calls jersey too, who's mom calls the tiu's. and that's how they knew. where true love cannot be bought, trust and loyalty is an incentive money can definitely pay for.
at this point, caroline has been gone long enough for her typically oblivious father to worry. her family is still preoccupied with necessary formal apologies and maintaining spotless reputations.
older brother is the voice of perfect reason that makes you hope for the best until he proves himself treading murky waters of character.
along the river, by the swamps. a dead man is found, face down, hollow eyes open. snoop is on the scene. it is of the man bingo bargained with for caroline's life.
unfair, but sometimes a panunubos is paid for by the ultimate price of precious life. (i jus need to say, writing this right now gives me goosebumps. it is so eerie considering what is on international news today.
caroline is in for the rude awakening of being cut off financially. she curiously falls asleep in the hotel lobby. bingo her shadow doesn't let her get away with it. she asks if he's stalking her. he says yes, in the most deadpan, expected, unironic way possible. she asserts her right to privacy, which he contests.
'simula nung niligtas kita may pakialam na ko. hangga't di ka pa bayad sa'kin, makikialam ako.'
translated, i chose to take responsibility for you when i saved your life, if you intend to repay me, do so with your safety, with your life well lived. until then i will see my responsibility through.'
goodness gracious! do you realize what joy it is to be able to see the theme thread through the episodes so clearly?!
now, taking responsibility, pagtubos does not always require love, only decency. however love can always grow from taking responsibility.
from this responsibility love will grow. she will pay with her vulnerability, her openness, her willingness to trust. he will be compensated by the choice, the act of caring for her.
in a love story that navigates social class, one party usually gains more than the other. this love story levels the playing field. needs will be met. love will happen for both. she will find a kakampi, someone by her side. she will be broken open. she will learn to trust. for him, who worked hard for money, and has been calculated his whole life, love will happen when he forgets to count, and abandon his lists.
it will happen, but not before the mystery of the grand mastermind and motive is decoded. we will know when they do. when the team wants us to know.
until then, we shall find thrill in not knowing, in navigating the detours and roadblocks, certain that a love story is mapped out beneath the surface.

Marriage. 57
Chapter 57: Mom’s amazing
It’s almost Gohan’s 12th birthday, and mommy is taking me shopping. She wants my help picking out the perfect gift for big brother. But I don’t know what we should get him. Maybe a book, he likes those. But he has a lot of those. Maybe one of those comic books. Or a toy. Mommy says he’ll like anything I pick out for him.
We’re walking out a shop when we see a man running. There’s a lady running and screaming that he took her bag. Mommy looks angry, and chases the man. What is man trying to do? She can’t beat a big guy like that. No mommy… Uh? Did mom just flip him? How is that even possible? Mommy is so much smaller than that man. Oh, mommy is dragging him across the street. Mommy gave the lady her bag, and binning the guy’s arm back, and tell him to ask for forgiveness. Wow! My mom is so cool!
Gohan always said how mom was super strong, but I never believed him. I thought he was joking, since she’s mommy. I know Uncle Geta is super strong, and big brother is super strong, too. But mom? This is the first time I’ve seen her like this.
When we get home, I watch mommy closely. She’s able to pick up big stuff with ease. Can’t every mommy do that? She’s able to do things very fast. But can’t anyone with practice? Sometimes, when she has free time, I see her working out. I always thought that what every mommy does. But is it really? I have to ask mommy.
“Mommy.” She looks at me. “How were you able to beat that bigger man? You’re so much smaller.”
She smiles. “I might not look it, but your mommy is one of the strongest women on earth.”
“Why you say that?”
“I just am. I was always strong since I was a little girl. Lots of meanie used to challenge mommy, but mommy always win. Mommy always win. I even was one of the top 8 at the Martial Arts Tournament, alongside your father.”
“Wow! So cool. Are you able to beat daddy?”
“Yes and no.”
“Uh?”
“Yes, because I’m his wife. And no, because he’s stronger.”
“So cool! I wanna be strong too! Teach me mommy. Please!” She had a concern face, and for the moment I think she’s going to say no. I was starting to feel, and discourage.
“I’m not an easy teacher. So, don’t expect special treatment.”
I just couldn’t hold back my excitement, and hugged mommy. “Yes mommy!”
It’s Gohan’s birthday today. How old is he going to be again? Well, at least I remembered it’s his birthday, so, I’ll be happy with that. I wonder what they’re all doing today. Just then some of the guys walked over to where I was. For some reason, I’ve kind of claim this spot under a tree, whenever I rest. So, for anyone to walk this way it was out of the blue. “What up you guys?” They all looked concerned, so I sat up.
“Goku, are you really going to do this every year?”
“What you mean?”
“Sit under this tree, only on certain days. What’s so special about these days anyway?” I never explained to them about my family. I never felt the need to. But since they asked, I don’t see why not tell them at least a bit about my family.
“Today is my eldest son’s birthday. If I was alive, I would be spending it with him, but since I’m dead I’ll just take the day to do nothing. It doesn’t feel right to train on his birthday. Nor on my wife’s, or our anniversary. And I’m giving the same treatment to my second child, that was born after I died.” With that I laid back down, and didn’t noticed the looks they were giving me.
“What’s the point?” I sat back up and asked what they meant. “You’re dead. You should be doing whatever you want.”
“But I am. I train as much as I want, and eat a ton. Me taking these breaks is because I just miss them, and want to give them a special moment of my time. They deserve it.”
“But it’s been three years.” Three years? Oh, that would make Gohan 12. I got so happy finally knowing how old my boy is turning today. “Goku!” I turned my attention back to them. “Like I was saying. It’s been three years. Don’t you think it’s time you moved on? For all you know they moved on.”
“What do you mean? Moved on how?” I was very confused.
They seemed to look at each other, before one of them spook again. “Moved on as in, for all you know, your wife probably remarried.” I felt somewhat hurt that he would say such a thing. Chichi would never remarry. We’re remarried forever. “Marriage usually is till death do you part, and you’re dead. So, that technically means you’re no longer—”
I don’t know where the speed came from, but I had him by the neck. “FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I’LL MAKE IT HELL FOR YOU!” I let him go, and there was fear written all over his face. I then looked at everyone else. “THAT GOES EVERYONE ELSE! DON’T EVER MENTION THAT AROUND ME AGAIN!” With that, I sat back down. I gave everyone one more glare, and they backed away. How dare they say such things! My Chichi is FOREVER MINE! And I’m forever hers! No other way around it. Anyone who tries telling me other wise is going to pay.
As I tried to calm down, I sense King Kai approaching. I’m really not in the mood for anymore annoyance. But I just stay there, and hope for the best. And of course, it’s not what I hoped. “You ok?”
“I’m just peachy.” I hope he can get the hint I want to be left alone. But nope, he stays.
“The others might not get it, but you’re right to feel how you feel.” Uh? I looked over at him. “You’re a sayian after all. Maybe I’m not the best person to explain. But what you say? Tomorrow I could introduce you to a few sayians. Maybe they could explain things to you.” I just sat up, and continued looking at him.
“Who are they?”
“You happen to know them. Don’t give me that face. Just wait till you meet them, and then you’ll know. Also, someone wants to meet you, but since today you took off for your son, I’m sure you can meet him another day.” With that he walks away, and I’m left puzzled. Well, I won’t think about it. I’ll worry about it tomorrow.
As we celebrate my birthday, I was very surprised at the Goten gave me a gift. When I opened it, I was so in tears. I absolutely loved it! It was a journal! It was orange, and had four red stars on it. And he also gave me a very cool blue pen. I was just so over joyed, I just couldn’t stop hugging him. “Let me go! I can’t breathe!”
“Not yet!” It took mom to save him. But I just couldn’t stop being so happy. I held the journal closely. When it was bed time, I decided to write on the first page. What should I write about? Maybe something special I want to always want to remember. Then I looked over to my favorite teddy, still wearing that blanket from all those years ago. A new wave of tears fell, and so I decided to write that.
On the very first page I wrote. “Mom, Dad, Gohan, and Goten Forever and Ever.” With that I felt another way of happiness, and placed my journal away. This gift was way better than any toys or books I could ever get. As I slept, I hugged my little brother. Today was the most specialist birthday ever!
I was so happy big brother liked his gift. But I sure didn’t think about that tight hug. And now being hugged to death while I’m trying to sleep is not fun. But I’m glad I made my big brother happy. I’m so happy we found a shop that does custom journals.
Today, while Gohan studies, mom was going to give me my first lesson on being strong like her. When I walked over to mom, she handed me a bag and told me to go change. I looked at her confused, but rushed to the bathroom to change. When I looked inside the bag, I saw something orange. When I pulled it out, it looked like what daddy wears in the pictures. Mommy made me an outfit like daddy’s. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about this.
I tried to figure out how I’m supposed to put it on, but I got stuck. So, I called for mom to help me. She helped put of the pants, the first shirt, then the second one. Why do I need two? She then showed me how to tie my belt. The whole time she had the biggest, loving smile I have ever seen. Why is that? I never seen that smile before. I was kind of mad. Why have I never seen this smile? And how can I make her smile like this more often? Has Gohan seen this smile? I hope not. I want to keep this smile to myself.
When she was done tying the belt, she undid it and told me to try. I tried my best, and it made her smile that smile. Mommy then moved away from the bathroom door mirror. And that’s when I saw what everyone was talking about. I really do look like my daddy. Somehow, I felt super happy.  And when I looked at mom, I could have sworn, he was there smiling down at me. Mom looked so proud. I felt so happy. I want to see that smile on mommy’s face every day. We then went to the front yard, and mom started talking about something called training. She went about the rules, and even showed me a few stands. I had to mirror her every move.
It took a few months for Goten to get his kata down, and I couldn’t be any prouder. If Goku was here, he’ll be proud too. On top of that, Goten wouldn’t get out of his gi. Even when we weren’t going to train, he still wanted to wear it. When Gohan saw him wearing the gi, the smile Gohan had was so adorable. Heck, Gohan didn’t stop hugging Goten for almost two hours. I had to save my poor baby.
After a while, I started having Goten wear weighted gear. He was very surprised, but I assured him it was for the best. When he asked what I meant, I told him it was like how Vegeta trains in his gravity room. He was so amazed, and even asked when will he be able to get heavier clothes. “First let’s get through this weight.” He nodded, and we got into our sparring session.
I can’t believe it! He can do it, too! Not another one! I thought he would at least, had a few more, years before he could do that. He’s so young. My baby! I ended training early for the day, and after dinner I stood in my room. When I was in my room, I went in search for his very first gi I made him. The one were the moment he got one little tare, he got so upset. The one were actually didn’t want to wear it anymore, for fear he’ll rip it more. The one he made a super big deal over, since it was the first one, I made him.
I find it and hug it. I whisper into it. “Hey Goku. Our little Goten can go super sayian. And he’s so young. I was training him, and he changed. Even though I’m so proud of him, it still scared me. I’m scared he’ll be dragged into battles now. Even though, nothing has happened, I’m still scared. I do wish you were here to see him. I even made him a gi like yours. You would be so happy to see him.”
After the first week of training with mom, I was allowed to visit Trunks again. While there, I got to show off the gi my mommy made me. Uncle Geta saw, and invited me to train with him and Trunks. I got so excited. It was only for an hour, but me and Trunks were allowed to spar, while Uncle Geta did his own thing. It was super fun. Me and Trunks agreed every time we visit each other, we’ll show each other what we learned.
One day Trunks showed me how to do this thing called a super sayian. It was super cool. But we agreed to keep it a secret from our parents. Saying how it might upset them. I didn’t understand at the time. Well, until I accidently did when sparring with mom. She called me a little monster, and a punker, I think. I was so upset that I made her cry. So, I promised to never do it again, unless I’m playing with Trunks.

Summary: After your parents were murdered by werewolf hunters, you had to run away. You had to save yourself from going through the same tragic fate and that leaves you to being a lone wolf. Thankfully, moving to a new town led you to meeting new people and possibly a new family.
Theme: werewolf au, strangers to lovers
Genre: smidge of action, fluff, slightly suggestive
Warnings: mentions of slight nudity and violence, gets a little steamy near the end but nothing too detailed
WC: 6.6k
Pairing: Alpha!Minho x Omega!FemReader
a/n: Hi :) Obviously werewolf skz is just *chef's kiss* so of course I had to write about it. So here's a Minho one ;)
Tumblr media
Due to your parent’s unfortunate death, you had to move away to avoid being caught by the same hunters who killed them. By moving cities, it means moving schools too. Before this, you were in your dad’s pack which only consists of your mom, your dad and you. Now that they’re gone, it leaves you to being a lone wolf.
Hence, why you managed to enrol yourself into this new school after finding yourself a cheap rundown apartment.
You were an Omega werewolf which means you weren’t a part of any pack. You were a lone wolf. After your parents died, you had no one to go to. No friends, no family, nothing. You might as well just die.
Except, you knew your parents wouldn’t want that so you had to persevere and try to at least survive for as long as you can on your own. Throughout your whole life, you weren’t really able to detect any werewolves near you despite your amazing supernatural sense of smell.
So you thought you were alone from now on. Little did you know, the previous town you lived in just didn’t have your kind.
Tumblr media
The 8 of them were a pack. To be more specific, they were in Chan’s pack. Chan was their leader but also an Alpha along with Minho and Changbin. Meanwhile, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix, Seungmin and Jeongin were Betas. They’ve been together for quite a while now where Chan was initially only with Minho, Changbin and Hyunjin before he took in the other young ones after a few unfortunate circumstances.
Chan has been teaching them how to hunt, enhance their skills and basically provide them food and shelter. They were more like brothers instead of friends or acquaintances. Their bond was stronger than anything else. If one was injured, the other would know even if they were miles apart.
It was a warm Tuesday afternoon, the boys were just having lunch at their usual table when Changbin’s nose began to tickle with a strong scent, only for the others to smell it too right after.
“Hey, do you guys smell that?” Changbin asked quietly, earning a few nods from the rest.
Since Chan, Minho and Changbin were Alphas, they have slightly stronger werewolf senses compared to the others and they could tell that this scent was new. They knew a few other packs that were present on campus and were even friends with some of them but this?
This was a very new scent that they weren’t familiar with.
“Whoever this is, they clearly just transferred here.” Jisung stated nonchalantly.
“No shit sherlock.” Minho said, earning a low snarl from the younger boy.
“But where is it coming from? I would know if they’re in the room with us… Looks like they’re in the grounds just not in this cafeteria…” Chan said as his eyes began to scan the entire radius of the cafeteria hall.
“But can you tell if it’s a male or female?” Jeongin asked curiously only for Chan to turn back to his brothers and nod.
“It’s a female.”
A few minutes later, they were all gathered for the talk session they had with a motivational speaker regarding the academics. The 8 of them were seated in the middle row of the lecture hall. It was already filled with students from all courses, leaving only a few seats empty. One of which was at the very end of the row below them, right by the aisle and just in front of Felix.
Soon enough, the man began talking and introducing himself to the audience. The boys were just seated there, barely focusing. Neither of them were properly listening to the speaker.
However, their attention was soon diverted intensely when the same scent from earlier only grew stronger by the minute. Before they could even ask each other about it, a new face came stumbling in the main doors.
That’s when they realized where that scent was coming from.
It was you.
Tumblr media
You were running late for the motivational talk which is why you were now sprinting across the campus to reach the main building which held the auditorium. Upon arriving, you managed to find the right hall after what felt like forever. The minute you pushed the double doors open, you were immediately met with at least 400 pairs of eyes.
The man standing on stage simply smiles at you and asks you to take a seat wherever you could find. He was nice and you could tell. However, your mind was currently spinning from the overwhelming amount of scents you could clearly smell in this hall.
There were at least 5 different werewolf packs in this room right now but there is one pack scent that was so strong and bold to you.
It literally stands out from the rest.
Just as you were about to walk to the steps on the side nearest to you, the strong grip on your forearm made you halt.
It was a lecturer you weren’t familiar with but you felt uneasy with him. The way he was staring at you from head to toe, his tightening grip on your arm made you wince.
“Are you a new student?” He asked lowly.
“Y-Yes.”
“Which class are you with?”
“I-I’m not sure. B-But I’ll just sit anywhere that’s available.” You frowned deeply before you yanked your arm out of his grip with a bit of struggle.
With that being said, you rushed up the steps towards the empty seat right next to the aisle. The moment you sat down, your fiery glare travelled back to the lecturer who was standing at the same spot he previously was in but his eyes were on you.
Damn him.
However, your mind seemed to grow fuzzy with the sudden strong scent that was intoxicating your senses now. It was so strong, as though whoever or whatever they are were extremely close to you.
Just then, the soft touch on your forearm made you flinch as you turned to come face to face with a pretty girl. She didn’t have any particular werewolf scent on her so you knew she was an ordinary human.
“Do you know which class you’re in?” She asked.
“Umm… I… I haven’t checked my timetable.”
She giggled softly before she continued, “Don’t forget to check it later so you know where to go after this. I’m Yeri by the way. You are?”
With that being said, you gave her a small smile before telling her your name.
“Y/N.”
“Nice to meet you Y/N. If you need help with anything, just ask okay?”
You nodded a little to acknowledge her but then your trail of vision got diverted to the male sitting a few seats diagonally above yours. What made you focus on him was the fact that his eyes were boring into yours. It wasn’t creepy or uncomfortable though. It was more like curiosity. You hold your stares for a bit and that’s when it hits you.
The scent.
It was from him.
Tumblr media
A few nights had passed, there was going to be a full moon tonight so you decided to go hunting. Your aim was to practice your survival skills, one that your father taught you when he was still alive. You didn’t bother bringing any change of clothes, telling yourself you would most probably just go to your parent’s secret hideout in the woods.
So here you are, in the middle of the woods alone, finding yourself standing in an empty spot that had the full moon just directly above you. This spot wasn’t new to you.
This is where your parents violently got killed by the werewolf hunters.
During that horrible incident, you were hiding behind one of the huge trees after your parents told you to run. The last thing you saw was your father’s head being decapitated mercilessly before you took off running on all four paws.
Running as fast as you can, praying that the hunters didn’t catch you.
Lucky for you, they didn’t. And yet, you knew they would do everything in their will to continue finding you which is why you moved.
You were taking in the beautiful moon, deciding to change into your furry self so that you could move freely through the woods. After about an hour of just running and strolling through the woods, playing in the lake, chasing bunnies, you figured you wanted to take a quick rest.
It wasn’t until you stepped onto a pile of dead leaves that the sharp click followed by a loud snap echoed through the woods. A shrilling howl left your lips as the pain began to crawl up your broken hind legs where your human ankle would be.
You whimpered in pain, your entire body collapsing to the ground when you realized you were trapped.
Just then, a soft click of a shotgun’s hammer sounded as they locked the bullet in place and were left with pulling the trigger. Your vision was getting blurred from the tears welling up in your eyes.
Your bright gold eyes were flooded with tears, a weak whine leaving your lips as you looked up at the man who killed your parents a month ago.
“Say goodnight. Your parents are dying to see you in the afterlife.” He said while he pointed the gun to your forehead.
However, before he could pull the trigger, a low growl came from somewhere behind you.
The last thing you saw was a larger silver coloured wolf lunging itself onto the hunter and soon began to wrestle with him, only to receive help from another wolf equally the same size but a light brown colour.
And a few seconds later, you passed out cold.
Tumblr media
The boys were in their wolf forms, strolling through the woods like they usually do except tonight with the full moon shining down at them. Everyone was having their own fun. Chan and Minho were lingering behind their younger brothers, watching over them and their safety.
Changbin was walking with Jeongin in the centre, once in a while playfully nudging Jeongin’s side with the tip of his snout.
Jisung, Felix and Hyunjin were playing catch but making sure to stick close by while Seungmin was just breaking out into small jogs and twirls excitedly whenever he comes across a field of dandelions on the grass patches.
They were all roaming freely together when all of a sudden, a shrilling scream echoed in their sensitive ears making them all halt to a stop.
“What was that?!” Jisung asked through telepathy, only for Chan to transfer his message to the rest of the boys through his mind.
“I don’t know but it sounds close by.”
“I don’t feel good about this. I think someone’s injured.” Hyunjin said worriedly. However, before anyone could continue, a certain scent intoxicated Minho’s nostrils and he knew exactly what it was or who it was.
“It’s that new girl from school. She’s caught in a metal trap. We have to help her. Now!” Minho said firmly as he began running through the woods, using his sense of smell to try and detect your location. The minute he saw the man standing over your limp body with one of your hind legs horribly clamped between the metal bars, Minho raced over to you.
Right before the man could pull the trigger, Minho leaped out from the shadows, sending the man flying backwards along with himself. Minho tackles the man easily as he growls in the man’s face.
Chan soon joins in to give Minho a hand. Chan bit the shotgun and tosses it far from reach.
Right when the man began to plead for them to spare his life, Minho lets out one last growl followed by a hiss before he bites the man’s head off without a single ounce of mercy.
Normally, Chan does not condone violence to his pack. He only allows it during a life and death situation and if it involves werewolf hunters.
After the hunter’s body was laying there limp, like a headless chicken, Minho licks his canine teeth tasting the disgusting blood coating them. His glowing red eyes bore deep into the limp body, feeling anger taking over him until he heard Seungmin’s soft voice through the telepathy.
“Hyung, she fell unconscious.”
With that, Minho turned around as he and Chan quickly went over to where your body laid.
Your chest was barely moving, your leg was bleeding and probably broken, there was no sign of other injuries except for your leg.
Meanwhile, Changbin, Felix, Hyunjin, Jisung and Jeongin were guarding the perimeter, senses heightened so as to be able to detect any danger coming their way just like how Chan had trained them to perfection.
Chan sniffed the metal trap to try and see if he could break you free from it.
“Minho, bite the other clasp. I’ll bite this side then we’ll try and pull it apart.” Chan said as the younger one walked around Seungmin and soon bit down one side of the clasp like Chan says.
The two of them managed to free your broken leg from the metal trap but now, your leg was bleeding quite a lot.
“What should we do now?” Seungmin asked.
“Take her back to our place. We’ll treat her injuries and wait till she wakes up.” Chan said firmly, earning a nod from the two boys.
Chan called the others over, asking Changbin to help him carry your limp body together.
Chan slides his head under your shoulders while Changbin does the same beside the leader. Once they were both standing on all fours, your body was splayed over their backs horizontally with your head hanging over the side of Changbin’s furry body.
They brought you back to their home, only for Felix to attend to your injury. After they had transformed back to their human self, they wore back their clothes before they went to make sure you were okay.
Felix had just finished cleaning your bloodied wound, washing it with rubbing alcohol to get rid of any bacteria when you slowly began to transform back into your human self.
Of course, you were still unconscious but you were now laying on their couch butt naked with your private parts shielded by your arms and the cross of your thighs.
Nevertheless, the boys quickly diverted their gazes away from you even though you weren’t awake.
They respected you being the only female in the house, which is why Hyunjin ran to the nearest room to get a cosy blanket and soon came back, covering your naked body with it. Felix managed to wrap your leg with the bandage but that was it. They wouldn’t want to help you wear any clothes simply because that would mean they would have to handle your nude self.
Since you were practically strangers, they weren’t gonna do it simply out of respect for you. “Now we wait…” Chan announced as the rest of them nodded.
Tumblr media
You didn’t know how long you were out but the sudden warmth and soft material hugging your body made you stir awake. You struggled to focus your vision, finding the bright light a little too overwhelming for you.
Where are you?
Your mind was racing with thoughts. A whole list of possible scenarios were going through your mind, making a guess of which one it was.
Just then, a very familiar scent entered your nose and you recognized it immediately.
That’s when you managed to focus your blurry vision towards the figures that were gathered around the room you were currently in, finally recognizing the faces that were staring back at you in utter concern.
However, it was still a little surprising for you since you were not only in a room filled with guys who were practically strangers to you, you were also butt naked save for the blanket to shield you from their eyes. With that being said, this made you squeak as a soft gasp left your lips.
You hastily sat up, desperately pulling the blanket tighter against your body. The light brown haired male carefully approached you with his hands out in front of them to tell you he was harmless.
“Woah, hey… hey… relax, we’re not gonna hurt you. I promise. Okay?” The leader said with a warm smile as your eyes went to scan him.
You could immediately sense that what he said was true and that they all meant no harm to you. When he noticed your shoulders relax a bit, he smiled before he carefully sat down beside you, making sure to avoid your broken leg.
“How are you feeling?” He asked as you noticed the others were intently staring between you and their leader.
“I… It hurts…” You whispered, eyes finding its own way to the one leaning against the shelves with his arms crossed over his chest. He had ash blue hair, his eye shape was similar to a feline cat and you vividly remember he was the same guy you had a mini staring contest on that first day in the auditorium hall.
“I know it does. So we will try our best to take care of you until it heals… But, only if you agree to stay and let us help. Of course we understand if you want to leave since you don’t know us. It’s up to you. We won’t force you.” The leader said, making you turn to him as your grip on the blanket only loosened slightly.
It didn’t take long for you to decide on staying after you practically could sense sincerity and safety from them. So upon agreeing to their kind offer, the leader went ahead and introduced them to you.
“Since we don’t have any female clothes for you, are you okay if we lend you some of ours for the time being?” Chan asked, to which you nodded gently.
You carefully got up, making sure to wrap the blanket around your body securely. However, the minute you put a small amount of pressure on your injured leg, your knee buckled from the excruciating pain. A soft whimper left your lips as you were about to collapse to the ground. Instead, you never made it to the ground thanks to the strong pair of arms that reached out just in time to catch your waist.
Your free hand flew out to grab onto his shirt, not really seeing who saved you from the fall until you looked up to see who it was.
It’s Minho.
“Woah, be careful. Are you okay?” He asked as you nodded. Except, he didn’t miss the tear that was threatening to roll down your cheeks. You were visibly trying to hold in the pain but he knew it was difficult.
“Let me help.” He offered softly as you could only nod.
With that being said, Minho bends down to carry you bridal style before telling his brothers that he was going to bring you to his room for you to change and rest in. Chan agreed saying it was a good idea since it was already nearing 1 in the morning.
Once Minho made it to his bedroom, he brought you in only to close the door behind him using his foot. He gently placed you down on his king sized bed, making sure to not hurt your leg.
After he laid you down on the bed, he went over to his closet and took out a clean oversized shirt and sweatpants.
“Here, change into this then go and rest. I’ll be downstairs if you need anything. The others will be right down the hall in their bedrooms, okay?” His voice was so gentle, you almost forgot you didn't know this guy personally.
When he saw you nod subtly, he flashed you a smile and was about to leave when you grabbed his wrist softly to stop him.
“Thank you… all of you…” You whispered, earning a smile from him before he told you to rest.
The small jolt of electricity running through your veins at the skin contact didn’t go unnoticed between you two but you decided to ignore it until he left. The minute he closed the door, you gently caressed your hand that reached out for his wrist.
Little did you know, he did the same to his hand where you left a tingling sensation to his skin.
What was that feeling?
Tumblr media
From the first day they met you at the auditorium, Chan could already sense you were an Omega. That night when they saved you from being killed, Chan already knew he would take you into the pack. It was just a matter of whether or not you want to accept his offer. It has been three months since they saved you that night.
Ever since then, it was pretty obvious that you’ve grown slightly closer to them and they were already treating you like a part of their pack. Despite not giving a firm answer yet on whether you want to officially be in their pack or not, Chan still treated you with respect and like you were a part of their little family.
And for that, you were grateful.
However, during the past three months, you’ve also developed a little crush on Minho.
Not only was he always sweet and caring towards you, he was also the one who offered to lend you his bedroom and his clothes when you stayed over for the few days after you got injured.
Although you tried your best to hide your feelings for him, it looks like the other boys could sense it considering how Jisung and Felix would sometimes tease you whenever Minho was around. You would normally just brush them off or just plainly ignore them. Yet, sometimes Minho would catch you blushing when the boys tease you about him and he couldn’t help but find you adorable.
It was a Thursday afternoon, you had just finished your first class and were just keeping some of your books in your locker when a figure appeared beside you with an arm resting against the lockers. You glanced up to find Minho smiling down at you adorably, his eyes disappearing into two crescent moons.
“Hey, joining us for lunch?” He asked.
“Yeah, just keeping some books I don’t need for later.” You said, only to feel him tuck the stray hairs behind your ear.
This small gesture was enough to make your heart skip a beat in your chest. You tried to ignore the feeling but he was making it so difficult as he soon began to gently play with your hair, telling you it's pretty and soft.
You couldn’t help but giggle as he slid his hand down only to rest on your waist. After you closed your locker, you turned to face him, letting him slide his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to him. However, before any of you could say anything, Changbin’s teasing voice broke out from behind you.
“Aye, finally the two lovebirds acknowledge each other’s feelings huh?” This made Jisung and Chan, who were with Changbin, to chuckle in amusement.
You pulled away from Minho only for the boy to speak up.
“Seo Changbin, if you don’t keep that stupid mouth of yours shut, I’ll make sure you sleep on the porch tonight.” Minho threatened, earning a silly face from Changbin who clearly gives no shit.
Tumblr media
A few more weeks went by, you only grew closer and closer to the boys and yet you still weren’t in their pack. You had been so dependent on your parents that when they left you, it almost rendered you insane. It took you a while to accept that you were a lone wolf but after that incident, it only made you stronger and much more independent.
That’s why until now, you still haven’t accepted Chan’s offer on being in his pack despite knowing they were good people. It wasn’t because you still didn’t trust these boys. It was just in your nature for being an Omega, to feel independent.
It was a Friday evening, you haven’t been to the boys’ place for almost a week now but you still saw them and spent time with them in school.
Just then, you distinctly heard a familiar howl which sounded like they were in pain.
It was far but you knew where it came from and who the howl belonged to. You didn’t bother changing out of your pyjamas, running out of your apartment and straight to the direction of the howl through the woods that were right behind your run down apartment complex.
You ran as fast as your two feet could take you, already memorizing the woods in the back of your head. You followed the scent as it got stronger with every corner you took which means you were getting close.
That’s when you recognized Chan and Changbin’s furry self attacking the three hunters while Minho’s wolf form was laying there on the ground against the tree with his mouth in a nuzzle.
“No, no, no!” You hissed as you ran to him, cupping his large wolf face in your small hands.
“Minho! Minho, can you hear me? Please tell me you can hear me! Please…” You whispered desperately as his eyes were closed. You reached behind his head to unclasp the nuzzle, freeing his snout from it.
You looked around to see there was a shotgun laying just a few feet from you so you crawled over to it and locked the bullets in place before you aimed it at the hunter that was struggling under Chan’s grip. One of the 3 hunters was lying dead on the ground headless. So with one deep breath, you pulled the trigger, shooting the hunter straight through the side of his head.
Chan jumped back a little only to turn to the side and locked eyes with you who had the gun pointed to them. You quickly shifted your aim to Changbin and the last hunter, but it was slightly difficult due to them rolling and throwing each other around.
Before you could pull the trigger, Changbin growled and soon tore the hunter’s limbs apart one by one before settling for the head.
You threw the shotgun as far away as possible, turning back to Minho who was going in and out of consciousness. However, feeling as though you needed to make sure he was still alive, you gently stroked his furry chest to try and feel for his heartbeat.
Chan and Changbin came back to you and Minho, only for them to talk to you through telepathy.
“He’s badly wounded. We need to aid him fast.” Chan said.
“Let’s quickly get him home. Are you gonna stay with us tonight?” Changbin asked, making you nod at them.
With that being said, all four of you quickly made it back to their home with Minho on top of the two, just like they did with you on the night they found you trapped.
Once you all arrived at their house, you quickly ran to their door, knocking it frantically and it took them less than 2 seconds to open the door.
“Oh shit, quickly, get in.” Hyunjin said as the 3 wolves entered only for the two to gently place Minho on the couch.
“His leg got shot twice, one more on his left rib and a plunge to his shoulder.” Changbin told Felix as the younger one began to get to work with Seungmin’s assistance. In the meantime, the two boys went upstairs to go change while you stayed behind with the others in the kitchen.
“How come you were with them?” Jisung asked as you leaned against the counter with Hyunjin standing beside you while Jisung and Jeongin stood opposite from you.
“I was at home when I heard a howl. I knew immediately they were in pain and it sounded very familiar. So I went to check.” You explained as the boys exchanged knowing glances to one another.
“Noona? Can I ask you something?” Jisung asked.
“Sure.”
“Did you get any particular feeling when you heard the howl?”
“I just… I felt like it was someone close to me. Someone I cared for… Someone I-”
“-love?” Jeongin finished your sentence for you, making you look up at him with wide eyes.
“We know… We can always tell when one of us is in love… And we’ve known that from the start about Minho towards you. We just… couldn’t tell exactly for you since you’re not part of the pack.” Hyunjin explained, only for you to understand better.
Minho loves you?
You frowned as you stared at your feet for a while before you looked past Jisung’s shoulder to find Seungmin placing a blanket over Minho’s wolf form.
You were worried. You were terrified. The last thing you wanted was to never get to say goodbye to him. Never get to say the three words you hoped to tell him one day. Lucky for you, it wasn’t going to be a worry for you anytime soon.
Felix and Seungmin carefully left Minho there to rest as they approached the four of you in the kitchen.
“How is he?” Jeongin asked.
“He just needs plenty of rest. We managed to take out the bullets so I’m sure he’ll be fine by tomorrow.” Felix explained.
Since Minho was an Alpha, it means that he heals faster than the younger ones did. Same goes for Chan and Changbin if they ever got injured by something that wasn’t deadly to them. So with that being said, you excused yourself to go check on Minho, earning nods from the rest of them.
They watched as you made your way to Minho’s peaceful form on the couch.
“Why can’t they just confess already? They’re practically the perfect soulmates for each other.” Seungmin sighed with a smile.
“I know right?” Felix giggled.
“Come on, let’s give them some space.” Hyunjin said as he began to pull his brothers upstairs to let you and Minho have some privacy.
You sat on the floor in front of Minho’s adorable snout, gently caressing his soft fur on his neck. You gave him a small kiss on the tip of his nose before whispering to him.
“Please be okay… I don’t want to lose you.”
His soft breaths filled your sensitive ears as you stroked his chest like a lullaby for him.
A few minutes of silence accompanied you, allowing yourself to drift off to sleep with the top of your head leaning against his neck and right underneath his chin. You didn’t know how long you were asleep but you woke up to the feeling of someone gently caressing your hair.
Successfully stirring awake, you brought your head up only to find Minho back in his human form and still in all his naked glory but with the blanket covering his waist down.
You immediately got to your knees and wrapped your arms around his neck, earning a soft giggle from him as he snaked his arms around your waist.
“Hi princess.” His sultry voice echoes in your ear, making you blush.
“I’m so glad you’re okay!” You whispered, hearing him chuckle softly.
“Of course I have to be okay, I won’t leave you hanging.” His words made you pull back from him, staring into his adorable round eyes. Minho could sense your confusion in which he laughed.
With that, he reached up to cup your cheeks and gently caressed it with his thumbs before he whispered.
“I won’t ever leave you.”
You didn’t know what came over you but you suddenly felt brave. It has been screaming at you to do this for quite a while now, you just chose to ignore it. But this time, you felt like it was the right time to do it.
So with one small breath, you leaned in to kiss him, feeling him instantly smile against your lips. Both of you felt sparks shooting out of the kiss as he pulled you on top of him. His hands flew down to your waist while your small hands cupped his face softly.
Minho’s tongue teased you as he licked your bottom lip before tugging it in between his teeth.
His grip on your waist tightened, making you sit firmly on his thighs. You completely forgot he was butt naked until you felt something poking your inner thigh. It wasn’t until he pulled away from your lips to smile cheekily up at you.
“Should we go to my bedroom?” He asked, making you giggle.
“Are you sure you’re healed? I wouldn’t want to hurt you.” You asked.
Minho kissed you again only to pull back and smirk, “Trust me sweetheart, I’m already good to go. I’m an Alpha, remember?” You rolled your eyes at his cockiness but nevertheless found it so attractive.
Minho laughed as he captured you in a kiss yet again before he stood up with you on his waist, your legs wrapped around his hips. A small yelp escaped your lips as he carried you up to his bedroom. Once you made it to his room, he kicked his door close and locked it before gently tossing you onto his bed.
He crawled over to you until he was situated in between your legs, making you nervous.
“You know you can always tell me to stop if you’re uncomfortable, right baby? I will never force you to do something you’re not okay with.” Minho reassured you as he caressed your cheek lovingly.
You were nervous, yes because it would be your first time mating. However, you didn’t feel uncomfortable because you trusted him. So you weren’t going to stop him.
Not now. Not ever.
“I want you… Minho. Please… I… I love you.” You whispered with your eyes closed, too afraid to look at him. What you missed was how his eyes grew even softer the minute you said those last three words. Minho never felt this way before. Sure he has mated before and none of it works out. But this time, it all felt so foreign to him.
You weren’t just another one of his playmates. You weren’t a random stranger whom he would have sex with and leave. You were someone he cared for, someone he grew fond of, someone he trusts, and most importantly, someone he loves.
With that being said, Minho smiles as he leans down to close the gap before he whispers against your lips.
“I love you too, Y/N.”
Right after, he kisses you like his life depends on it. Pouring out his love for you through the kiss, hoping you could feel his sincerity. He felt your hands sliding down his chest, only to trace your fingertips along the outlines of his abs.
He helped you discard your pyjamas, tossing them onto the ground as he then realized you only had your panties and no bra.
“Did you really just leave your apartment like this?” He chuckled, pecking your lips a few times.
“I got worried okay... I wanted to make sure no one’s hurt…” You blushed as he teased you.
“Aww, so you rushed out without thinking to change just because you were worried about me?” Minho smirked down at you.
“Shut up, Min. I didn’t know who it was when I ran out okay…” You pushed his face away with your hands only for him to bury his face in the crook of your neck.
“Yeah, sure.”
“I’m serious!” You pouted as he pulled away to look at your disappointed face, making him chuckle and kiss you repeatedly, saying you looked too cute.
“Okay okay, I believe you baby.” Minho chuckled, cupping your cheeks to kiss you again, this time letting his lips linger there for a bit. Both of you took your own sweet time with each other. He promised to be gentle with you and that was exactly what he did. Only going rough once in a while so that you could both reach your highs.
Minho marked you as his partner and you were happy he did. But there was only one thing left that you haven’t done.
After he cleaned you, you were both lying in bed under his soft duvet. He was just gently playing with your hair while you laid your head on his chest. His mind was filled with nothing but you. All until you spoke up.
“I want to be in Chan’s pack.”
Minho’s fingers stopped whatever it was doing, only for him to stare down at you.
“What did you say?”
“I’ve thought about it… And I want to be in Chan’s pack.” You repeated again, causing him to smile.
“Wait… are you serious?”
You nodded with a small smile, making him huff. After almost 4 months of spending time with them, getting to know each of them better, you realized that they were nothing but a family to one another. And with your tragic past, maybe being in Chan’s pack wouldn’t be so bad. Not only will you have a family of your own, but you also have someone who you loved dearly.
So why not right?
With that being said, Minho kissed you again and again on your cheeks, your nose, your forehead and your lips. All you did was giggle.
“Let’s go tell Chan!” Minho said excitedly as he leaped out of bed butt naked, going around to collect both your clothes that were scattered on the floor. Once you were both changed, he grabs your hands and laces his fingers with yours only to run down the hall, accidentally bumping into Jisung and Changbin as you did so.
“Bang Chan!” Minho called out as he burst open the elder’s bedroom door, only to find Chan just reading something from his book shelves.
“Oh, hey guys. What’s up?” Chan smiled as he placed his book down on the desk but Minho was quick to tell him the news.
“Y/N wants to be part of the pack.”
With that, Chan’s eyes grew wide as he stared at you with a happy glint in his eyes.
“Really?”
You gave him a firm nod in which Chan couldn’t help but grin.
“Well then, welcome to the family Y/N.” Chan announced, only for the rest of them to rush in.
“Noona’s finally part of us?!” Felix and Jisung asked in unison, earning a solid yes from Chan. The younger ones immediately ran to you to give you a hug. You couldn’t help but giggle as they welcomed you warmly. After you were done exchanging hugs, Chan spoke up to get everyone’s attention.
“Also, I think it’s pretty clear that Y/N is now out of bound to the rest of us except Minho.” Chan smirked, wiggling his eyebrows at the male who had his fingers laced with yours.
“Yeah so don’t even think about it.” Minho warned, pretending to threaten his brothers but of course he didn’t actually plan to hurt them if they got close to you since they already loved you like a sister.
“Don’t worry brother, she’s all yours.” Changbin smiled cheekily, only for you to blush.
You were glad that you found them. You were glad they saved you that night and not any other pack. You were glad they came into your life. Because they taught you how to be strong again. They taught you how to survive. And most importantly, Minho taught you how to love again.

You were sitting at the kitchen table, drinking soda and scrolling mindlessly on your phone when your stepbrother had come up behind you, looping his arms over your shoulders as he leaned down.
“Hey girlie, what’re you doing?”
“Nothin’.” You shifted, moving so his mouth was away from your ear, squirming uncomfortably.
There was a beat of silence, before Shinsou stood, his presence looming behind you like a harbinger of evil. “Come up to my room? I’m tired, wanna hold you.” You sighed, hunching your shoulders and curling in upon yourself. You knew it wasn’t a question, wasn’t a request that you could ignore or refuse. He was just giving you the illusion of having a choice. Well,  you did have a choice;  go with your brother willingly, or get dragged, risk him getting angry if you said you were feeling sick, get into a fight with the man that could pin you to the ground without breaking a sweat.
“Shinsou…. “
“C’mon.” He didn’t wait for you to figure out how to beg for him to leave you be, grabbing your arm and hauling you to your feet with ease. You went limp, what else could you do?
The purple-haired man reached under your skirt, a modest, knee-length thing, wrenching your panties down with one hand.  You squeezed your eyes shut when his hand brushed against your hip, when he eyed the panties clutched in his fist.
“Cute.”
Gross.
Then he was tugging you along, headed towards his room.
You were so tired.
Mind almost shutting down, you stumbled when the audible clanking of the garage door beginning to open could be heard.
Dad was home.
Wide eyed, you caught Shinsou’s equally-surprised gaze, the man in front of you tightening his grip on your arm. Without another word, his pace was quickened.  Aizawa wasn’t supposed to get home until midnight, was supposed to be working late at the office.
Shinsou tugged you into his room, slammed the door shut,  pushed you onto the bed. He had a sense of urgency; he was stressed, thrown off by the sudden and unexpected arrival of your father. “Gotta be quiet now, don’t want dad to hear us, right?”
You nodded, dazed, exhausted. Nothing had happened yet and you were already retreating inside your mind, resigning yourself to whatever your older brother was going to do today. He had said he wanted to cuddle, but that usually meant lazy sex while he hugged you, kissing your neck and falling asleep after making the both of you cum.
Without any preamble, the man climbed onto the bed, putting a hand on your shoulder to gently guide you to lay back. Then he was scrabbling at your shirt, pulling it over your head and leaving you in nothing but your bralette and skirt. He kneeled between your legs, pulling your skirt up to mid thigh to give him more room to maneuver.
“Shinsou please don’t, dad’s-“
“Shhhh, just do what I say and you’ll be fine.”
Shinsou spat into his palm, the sound making you cringe as you thumbed at the soft blankets underneath you. He was unbuttoning his pants, shoving at his underwear until he could get his cock free. The man went quicker than usual as he slicked up his length with his spit, very much aware of the presence of someone else in the house.
At this point, Shinsou really didn’t care.
He had been fucking you for so long, pulling you aside for a quickie when your parents ran to the store, taking his time when they went away for a weekend,  fucked you on the couch when they went out for date-night. Feeling particularly bold today, he barely thought to pause when your father had gotten home. Right now, he wanted to lay down with his little sister, fuck you until you fell asleep, and then cuddle with your pliant body. Dad home or not, he was determined.
Your skirt was pushed even further up your body, the material bunching at your waist so your stepbrother had unfettered access to your bare pussy. Clenching your eyes shut, you turned your head away as you felt Shinsou pull your hips into his lap so he could rub his cock against your folds. He hissed at the sensation, spitting into his hand again before reaching around his cock to smear his saliva onto your puffy slit, too impatient and hurried to properly prep you.
It was odd to see the purple haired man like this; usually he was very laid-back, slow and gathered in his movements. Right now he was rushing, pushing the tip of his cock slowly into your entrance when usually he would still be making you cry on his fingers. The stretch was immediate, almost burning, and your lungs tightened.
A hand reached up to cover your mouth, Shinsou’s thumb massaging your cheek as he hushed you. You grabbed onto his arm, not to pull him away (it would be useless, he was so much stronger than you), but to ground yourself,  able to do nothing but hold onto the man causing you pain.
The sound of dishes clattering down in the kitchen had Shinsou’s hips bucking forward suddenly, filling you up, pressing too far, too soon. He swore lowly, hand tightening around your mouth as you let out a pained noise.
His hips stilled, the hand not at your mouth petting soothingly at your hip in an imitation of comfort. Funny, you thought - you wouldn’t need comfort if your stupid step brother could manage to keep his dick in his pants.
As the seconds passed, both of you aware of Aizawa down in the kitchen, your muscles slowly relaxed. The stretch burned less, felt more manageable. Still, you were entirely unprepared when Shinsou drew his hips back before rutting into you.
You screeched, the sound muffled by his hand but undeniably loud.  Shinsou leaned over you, unwittingly pushing himself deeper as he tried to soothe you with his quiet “Shhh, shhh, it’s okay, you’re okay.”
If you were able, you would scream that you weren’t. You weren’t okay, nothing was okay. Everything about this was wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. The way his hips were twitching into you, the way he kissed your cheeks and thumbed away your tears. The pleasure that was sparking in your core, the fact that it was your stepbrother getting ready to pound you into the mattress.
He was thrusting smoothly now, cock drilling into you a a steady pace. You were getting wet, the slide easier and less painful, pleasure slowly filtering in. When Shinsou plucked at your clit, you squirmed, hips shamefully moving to meet his own. He started increasing the pace, breathing heavily as the two of you rocked together on the bed. Occasionally his bed creaked, the wood rubbing at the joints and squeaking.
On one hand, you hoped dad didn’t hear. On the other, you wished he would -  that he’d come save you from his son.
You got a mockery of your wish.
“Kids?”  Aizawa was walking up the stairs, the third step that always creaked whenever someone tread on it announcing his ascent.
“Shit.” Shinsou breathed, pulling out of you, manhandling you quickly. He threw back the covers of his bed, shoved you down, settled behind you. He didn’t have to tell you to be good - the taboo, disgustingly wrong nature of what he had been doing was too embarrassing for you to reveal to your stepfather. Accusing his biological son of assaulting you? Raping you? Would dad even believe you? You didn’t want him to see you like this, you couldn’t.
Dad knocked as Shinsou pulled the covers up, covering your state of undress. You knew your bralette straps were still visible, and Shinsou still had his shirt on. It would probably just look like the two of you had been napping, but then again, it would still seem odd. Whenever your parents were home you stayed as far away from your brother as possible - you weren’t one to just go cuddle with him.
The door creaked open, and your dad peered in. You were so embarrassed, half-naked and utterly humiliated underneath the covers. You didn’t know what to feel or what to do, frozen in fear and indecision.
“Hey dad, need something?” Shinsou rumbled from behind you, voice steady and monotoned.
Light eyes scanned the room, before settling on you and your brother. Aizawa gave you a confused glance, obviously not expecting you to be in here, before his eyes shifted to the man behind you. “Wanted to let you know I’m home. Mom won’t be back until late, do you two have any specific requests for dinner?”
Shinsou shifted closer to you, so close that you could feel his rapidly beating heart through the warm flesh of his chest.
“Nah, we’re fine with whatever.”
Aizawa nodded, giving you one more confused glance. Maybe he could tell something was up? You felt like you couldn’t breathe. As the dark-haired man turned, obviously moving to shut the door and head back down to the kitchen, Shinsou was pushing his cock into you, his heart trying to beat out of his chest against your back.
Before you could stop yourself, you were whimpering.
“Dad….”
Shinsou froze as Aizawa turned back, stepping further into the room. You were quiet, tears budding at the corners of your eyes.  You couldn’t make yourself utter another word, completely unsettled at the situation. What were you supposed to do? You wanted him to save you, but you didn’t know how to ask. Your stepfather was studying you, was waiting for you to say something more. His gaze was flickering between you tearful eyes, your bralette straps visible above the blanket, the position you and Shinsou were in. You could almost see the wheels turning in his head.
All three of you were silent, the moment seeming to stretch on forever.
You were so tired.
Breaking the stillness, Aizawa took another step into the room, brows slowly drawing down as the realization dawned upon him.
“Shinsou.” HIs voice was low, he rolled his son’s name in his mouth quietly, almost hesitantly. “What the fuck is going on.”
Your brother’s cock was still inside you.
“I was tired. (Y/N)’s cuddling with me, she was telling me about a dog she saw-“ Aizawa snorted, arms crossing as he took another step towards the bed. “Nice try. Don’t lie to me. Tell me what the fuck you’re doing.”
Shinsou was silent behind you, his heart beating loud and fast against your back.
“(Y/N), what’s going on?” His voice was softer as he asked you, throaty still - but softer.  The tears clouding your vision finally flooded, streaming down your cheeks as you looked up at him.
“Please… I....” You couldn’t formulate the words, mortification surrounding your body, Shinsou’s hand squeezing bruises into your hip. It was too much. You wished you had never existed,  that none of this had happened.
Unable to get an answer out of either of you, Aizawa strode forward, grabbed the covers, ripped them off the bed and dumped them in a heap.
You sobbed.
Both men were silent as you cried fat tears, embarrassed at being revealed, gratification at dad finally discovering the awfulness you had been subjected to these past few months.
Shinsou thrust his hips further into your warmth.
You choked, eyes snapping up to Aizawa. Shinsou was supposed to stop the second the two of were caught. He wasn’t supposed to keep going. Why wasn’t dad saying anything? Telling Shinsou to get off of you, get out of the house? Why wasn’t he calling the police? Why wasn’t he pulling your skirt down, trying to preserve your modesty?
The man was staring at the mess between your legs, Shinsou’s cock sliding in and out of you as you sobbed. Aizawa was breathing a bit heavier, his face, stance, demeanor no longer angry.
Dread filled your bones, settled like hot glue.
“Can you see how wet she is? She’s dripping.” Shinsou prodded, Aizawa frozen in place, mouth dry as he watched. “She’s always so warm inside, feels so nice.“
He was egging Aizawa on, seizing the moment and capturing his dad’s hesitance, manipulating it. You let out a whine as Shinsou’s pace picked up, cock beginning to hammer into your pussy. The purple haired man looped an arm underneath your thigh, hefting it into the air to allow Aizawa a better view.
“Doesn’t she sound so sweet? She tastes just as good, feels even better.” He was breathing heavily now, as he rutted into your warmth. Dropping your thigh, Shinsou reached for your clit, trapping the nub between his fingers and flicking at it. You cried out, your own hips squirming in indecisiveness , unable to choose between puling away or pushing back into the delicious sensation. It didn’t take much more to have you cumming.
Shinsou grunted as your walls squeezed around his cock, giving a few more frantic thrusts before he shot his load deep within your cunt, hips twitching as he worked through his own orgasm
You watched Aizawa sit down on the bed, close to your knees.
“How long?” He sounded strained. Shinsou shrugged, still panting.
Aizawa’s rough hand rested on your knee, his flat eyes closing as he paused. “Get up.”
The command wasn’t directed at you, but at your brother. Somehow, you didn’t think it would end up with your stepdad kicking his son out of the house.
Shinsou seemed to think the same as he pulled out, uncaring to the way you flinched as his cock dragged against your sensitive walls. He was silent as he shuffled to the end of the bed, tucking his dick back into his pants.
Aizawa grabbed your ankle and in one smooth move, dragged you to him. You squeaked at the sudden movement, eyes wide as you watched Aizawa look you up and down. The front of his slacks were tented.
He pulled you into his lap, your back to his chest, turning so the both of you faced Shinsou who still stood at the foot of the bed.
“Does he make you feel good?” The older man’s stubble was scratchy against your cheek. You didn’t know where this was going, felt so lost and bad and sick.
  “Sometimes…”
It was impossible to lie. You knew if you did, Shinsou would cut in, tell his father how he made you cum everytime. How most of the time, you were screaming in pleasure before he would even take his pants off.
Looking at the floor, you missed the look between father and son.
“He touch you here?” You gasped as a large hand grasped at your chest through your bralette. Aizawa’s hands were bigger than his son’s, rougher and more confident in their touch.
“Yes.”
“What about-“ tears streamed down your face as the hand slid further, over your tummy, over the fabric of your skit, down to your abused, sensitive cunt. “-Here?”
“Please stop, please.”
Aizawa didn’t answer, let his hand rest over the top of your pussy, feel his son’s cum slowly leaking out. “Shinsou, come here.”
The purple-haired man obeyed, stepping closer, falling to his knees at the edge of the bed when Aizawa motioned for him to do so.
“Clean up your sister.”
You weren’t too surprised. It shouldn’t have been hard to see where Shinsou had learned his nasty little tricks from. Still, it hurt your heart, struggling in your step-dad’s lap as he held you in place.
Shinsou was smiling, leaning forward to shove his face in-between your thighs, chuckling when you yelped as he tongued over your hole. You used your hands to shove at his head, pull at his hair, but he caught them in his grip. They were pulled down by your sides, where Shinsou held them still.
“No, no! Stop! You can’t, no—dad!!” You were sobbing, pleading as Shinsou continued his assault on your cunt, licking out his own cum from your insides. Aizawa was holding your legs, keeping you spread-eagled and open.
“I’m not a good guy (Y/N), neither of us are.” His hardness was rubbing up against your back as you squirmed. “And from now on, you call me daddy.” “No! I won’t, let me go!” You thrashed, putting all your energy into loosing the iron grip holding your legs. Shinsou pulled back, licking his lips as he glanced up at his father.
“She was like this when I first had her. Mouthy little thing, still hasn’t learned proper manners.” He didn’t wait for Aizawa to respond, leaning back forward to continue slurping at your swollen lips.
“That’s alright, she’ll learn… I am a teacher after all.”
You wanted to vomit. You went limp, sobbing raggedly in Aizawa’s arms - completely demoralized and humiliated. There was no use fighting when Shinsou had been hurting you.  Now with two fully grown men focused on you? Forget about it.
Aizawa was quiet as Shinsou worked you up to an orgasm, the only sound besides your crying the wet, squishy lapping of Shinsou’s tongue suckling at your pussy. When he switched his focus to your clit, you wheezed, jolting in place as his tongue started laving over the little bud rapidly, quickly throwing you higher and higher and-
You wailed through your second orgasm, almost unable to breathe.
Moments passed before you were able to calm yourself, ugly-crying and begging the two men to please, please leave you alone. Please leave, don’t touch you.
If you weren’t numb from your orgasm, you would feel sick.
“Shinsou, where’s your lube?”
Purple hair bounced as your brother cocked his head, still kneeling between your legs. “She doesn’t need lube, she’s soaking wet.”
“She’s gonna need it if we’re both going to fit.”
Neither man seemed to be able to hear your panicked pleas, too excited about prepping you to take both of them together.
What an awful attempt at family bonding.

Unless a Grain of Wheat Falls and It Dies...
Or, why I am pretty optimistic about the fates of Jean, Connie, Gabi, and all titanized people this chapter, which is also an excuse for me to talk about SnK’s allusions to Russian literature.
There are strikingly parallel ideas The Brothers Karamazov and Attack on Titan, as well as parallel plot points and imagery to the point where if it isn’t deliberate, it’s uncanny. (NB: before people yell at me about comparing a Japanese and Russian work, Isayama has used Russian names since the start of SnK--Shiganshina is a Russian name.) In particular, there are narrative allusions to a portion of the novel known as “The Grand Inquisitor,” which is a short story within a novel. The central thesis of “The Grand Inquisitor” is as follows:
nothing has ever been more insupportable for a man and a human society than freedom.
This parable is told within the story by Ivan Karamazov, a character whose intellectuality is his gift and his curse. He tells his brother Alyosha that the motivation for creating this parable is precisely the evils done to children (oh look, a major SnK theme) and specifically cites an example which was unfortunately taken from real life in Russia and which Isayama has an uncanny parallel:
I want to see with my own eyes the hind lie down with the lion and the victim rise up and embrace his murderer. I want to be there when every one suddenly understands what it has all been for. All the religions of the world are built on this longing, and I am a believer. But then there are the children, and what am I to do about them? That's a question I can't answer... If all must suffer to pay for the eternal harmony, what have children to do with it, tell me, please? ... if it is really true that they must share responsibility for all their fathers' crimes, such a truth is not of this world and is beyond my comprehension. Some jester will say, perhaps, that the child would have grown up and have sinned, but you see he didn't grow up, he was torn to pieces by the dogs, at eight years old...
Tumblr media
... How are you going to atone for them? Is it possible? ... What do I care for a hell for oppressors? What good can hell do, since those children have already been tortured? ... I want to forgive. I want to embrace. I don't want more suffering. And if the sufferings of children go to swell the sum of sufferings which was necessary to pay for truth, then I protest that the truth is not worth such a price. ... too high a price is asked for harmony; it's beyond our means to pay so much to enter on it... It's not God that I don't accept, Alyosha, only I most respectfully return Him the ticket.”
The actual parable of “The Grand Inquisitor” is Ivan’s answer to Alyosha’s question about Ivan’s lines above. Ivan tells a story about how freedom is actually what dooms humanity: it is the curse. (Alyosha does not believe this.) Jesus comes back to earth and is promptly arrested, because his existence and return threaten the wellbeing of society. To be happy, one cannot be free, but one or two strong people in society should be free and bear the burden for everyone else (you can see the parallels to King Fritz/the Reisses).
Nothing is more seductive for man than his freedom of conscience, but nothing is a greater cause of suffering... all his life he loved humanity, and suddenly his eyes were opened, and he saw that it is no great moral blessedness to attain perfection and freedom, if at the same time one gains the conviction that millions of God's creatures have been created as a mockery, that they will never be capable of using their freedom...
This is SnK’s thesis: to be free, there will be suffering. It is part of human nature, and yet to not have it is to be lost. But SnK, despite its explorations of human darkness and monstrosity, has a higher view of humanity than does Ivan. SnK’s view is more alongside Alyosha’s, who says what is honestly the truth about not just the Reisses, but Eren now:
"Who are these keepers of the mystery who have taken some curse upon themselves for the happiness of mankind? .... It's simple lust of power, of filthy earthly gain, of domination—something like a universal serfdom with them as masters—that's all they stand for.”
Mikasa is akin to the Christ figure in the story, akin to Alyosha: Christ is constantly asked to speak, asked to act, and he does not until the very last moment, when he kisses the Grand Inquisitor on the lips. After the story is over, Alyosha then does likewise to Ivan.
Tumblr media
Not to mention when Alyosha worries about Ivan’s mental state, he then answers with this:
“Listen, Alyosha,” Ivan began in a resolute voice, “if I am really able to care for the sticky little leaves I shall only love them, remembering you. It's enough for me that you are somewhere here, and I shan't lose my desire for life yet.”
Tumblr media
A simple leaf can save a life. A leaf can save the world. A leaf, grown from a tree that started as a seed falling to the ground, dead, only to grow life from that death. Alyosha himself notes SnK’s central thesis of chapter 137 in the (very long) novel’s final pages:
...some good, sacred memory, preserved from childhood, is perhaps the best education. If a man carries many such memories with him into life, he is safe to the end of his days, and if one has only one good memory left in one's heart, even that may sometime be the means of saving us.
There’s a lot more to this, but this is the epigraph to The Brothers Karamazov, the central thesis of the entire novel:
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." -John 12:24
Suffering can grow great fruit in an individual life, and by giving something up, by even death, something beautiful can come. Through cruelty, you can find life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not just a long-running theme in SnK, but a pattern in its plot. Often those who surrender then receive exactly what they had surrendered (but admittedly, not always, like Erwin).
Mikasa accepted Eren’s loss, and got him back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mikasa let Armin go, and got him back.
Tumblr media
Falco gave up hope of survival, and got another chance:
Tumblr media
Hange was going to die alone, feeling guilty for having failed her comrades, but saw everyone again, and they told her well done:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Historia gave up being free, but now we know she will be.
Tumblr media
Levi gave up on his revenge, and then got it. Annie thought she would never see her dad again, but she did. For Mikasa, accepting that she has to kill the boy she loves coincides not just with her acceptance of her love, but with the acceptance and knowledge that he loves her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It always comes with sacrifice, increasingly hard sacrifice, but usually the seeds that are dropped grow and bloom.
This chapter, everyone surrendered their hearts. They let their dreams fall to the ground, and I honestly think the story will allow it to plant life. Yes, the world as a whole is saved and that is enough to make thematic sense, but it works even better if the very people who were titanized this chapter also bloom again. They chose to trust Mikasa, Levi, Falco, and Pieck to finish the task.
Tumblr media
The characters giving up their lives only to get them back make sense, and give Mikasa’s sacrifice of Eren. For Mikasa, Eren was her world, and she gave it up when she had lost everyone else. She had nothing left, and she still did it. I would hope she’d be narratively rewarded beyond just the world being saved, because Mikasa has always been motivated by her personal relationships.
Moving on from Mikasa: Connie’s mom has been kept alive and the concept of turning mindless titans back to humans was already brought up specifically in relation to her:
Tumblr media
Connie giving up on his mother a dozenish chapters ago only to get her back now--not through sacrificing a child, but through saving the entire world--would fit the themes and patterns of SnK.
Thirdly, Gabi should not die. She’s Eren with positive development, and cannot meet the same end. Even people who are skeptical of every titan being saved seem to agree that she’ll be fine. It’s possible she’s the only one saved, but imo, not likely.
See, the only shifter characters who are going to have the option of self-sacrifice are Falco and maaaaaybe Armin. The others look like they’re about to die right here and now, never mind choosing someone to save: the mindless titans are ripping at their napes. Armin also looks to be in bad shape.
Tumblr media
Yet Armin cannot narratively commit suicide; two chapters ago he was still screaming at himself for being useless and thinking he would be better off dead. He’s already tried the heroic sacrifice, too, so why would it work this time around? It does not work for his arc. Falco dying for Gabi was the plan without any freedom from the titan curse; it’s more powerful if ending the curse changes things, rather than forcing him to make the same choice that Reiner has always been trying to make: a heroic suicide. It could happen; it’s just not as narratively strong.
As for whether the worldbuilding rules, we know that mindless titans are not truly dead nor entirely mindless; they just don’t have freedom. Ymir’s case of getting herself back after decades shows that they aren’t quite dead or absorbed. They still have consciousness that can be awoken; Ymir described it as being in a long “nightmare.” Dina still went looking for Grisha. Connie’s mom remembered and recognized Connie, telling him “welcome home.” There is plenty of evidence that there are parts of these people that are still in there even if they are forced to become monsters (oh hey, it’s an Eren parallel; he was conscious of it and had choices while mindless titans do not, but the parallel remains).

The Christmas Cabin Murders
On December 22nd 1990, the family left the cabin to finish some last-minute Christmas shopping in Salt Lake City.
Unaware of the danger that lurked inside, Linae Tiede and her mother, Kaye (49), and grandmother, Beth (70), reached the cabin first at around 3:30 PM. They trudged in through the snow, put down their belongings and started trying to get warm again after the long trip outside. It was then that the home invaders chose to strike.
“From behind the refrigerator came a frizzy-headed man in a gray sweatshirt with his pistol pointed at me. As soon as my mom came to the top of the stairs, out from the back bedroom, another robber with really thick, coke-bottle glasses on was pointing a gun at my mother,” Linae said.
Without hesitation, Taylor shot Beth and Kaye dead. When Kaye started to pray before she was shot, Taylor allegedly told her it would do her no good because he worshipped the devil. Terrified and traumatised, Linae nonetheless tried to get the attackers out of the cabin as quickly as possible to protect her father Rolf and little sister Trish. They were still on their way up the mountain somewhere behind, blissfully unaware that their little slice of heaven had already turned into hell.
But despite her best efforts, it was too late. As Rolf and Trish pulled into the driveway, the two men apprehended them at gunpoint and dragged them into the cabin, where Rolf saw to his horror that his eldest daughter was already captive. As the sisters watched, one of the men pulled out his gun. Although it misfired twice, the third shot hit Rolf straight in the face and he crumpled to the ground, where the intruders doused him in gasoline and set him alight.
After leaving Rolf for dead, the attackers covered the cabin in gas and set that alight too. Then, they made the two girls load the snowmobiles and drive them away through the snow, one man on each vehicle to ensure Trish and Linae did what they were told. At this point, someone in a cabin nearby had heard the gunshots and looked out to see two snowmobiles fleeing into the distance before calling the authorities. Frantic with fear and suspecting they would probably be murdered themselves once the two killers got to the road, Trish said she was trying to come up with a way of escaping.
“I had all kinds of different plans of how to wreck the snowmobile, how to throw him off into a tree, how to get rid of him. But all I could think of is I couldn’t leave my sister. There was no one to help us. There was nowhere to go,” she commented.
Then, Trish and Linae saw someone they knew: their uncle, Randy Zorn. He had spotted the snowmobiles and was waving at his nieces, assuming they were taking some friends for a ride. But in an incredible display of bravery, the girls maintained their speed and swept by, completely ignoring him.
“I knew his life could be in danger. I knew if these men knew Randy was our uncle there that they would have killed him,” Linae explained.
Taylor and Deli took Linae and Trish to the family car by the road and forced them into the back. As the two men pulled away, they again saw Randy. And again, the young women pretended they didn’t know him to spare his life and suggested it was simply a neighbour being friendly.
As Randy stood in the wake of the Lincoln wondering what was going on, he was about to get a bigger shock. A snowmobile buzzed into view, and on it was a man with no coat, gloves or other warm clothing and a face covered in blood — it was Rolf Tiede.
Recalling the sight of his brother, Randy said: “His face is just huge and full of blood and just — just big. Eye swollen shut. Bloodcicles — ’cause it was cold … he was in really bad shape. And he says, ‘I’ve been shot. My wife has been killed and my daughters have been kidnapped’.”
Rolf had somehow survived being shot in the face, doused with gasoline and set alight. He had struggled to the bathroom to tear off his burning clothes before jumping onto a snowmobile in a desperate attempt to rescue his two girls.
Randy bundled a bleeding and seriously ill Rolf into the back of his car and scrambled into the driver’s seat. In another miracle at a time when not every vehicle was equipped with them, Randy had a cell phone that he was able to use to contact 911.
While on the line, he caught up with the Lincoln containing Trish and Linae and was able to give directions to the Summit County Sheriff’s Department that was now also in pursuit.
A terrifying 90mph chase ensued before the attackers lost control and the car tumbled from the road down an embankment. Mercifully uninjured, Trish and Linae put up their hands and yelled that they were hostages as police surrounded the vehicle and fired at the two men who had held them captive.
At last, Taylor and Deli surrendered. Von Lester Taylor, 25, and Edward Steven Deli, 21, were each charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated kidnapping. They were also charged with aggravated assault, theft, arson and failure to heed a police signal to stop.
In May 1991, Taylor pleaded guilty to the murder charges and was sentenced to death at a penalty phase hearing two weeks later. In a separate trial, Deli was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Rolf passed away from cancer some years later and both girls still call him their hero.

Why I love Pre-Boot Tim Drake and why the Reboot has ruined him
I love Tim Drake.  He is my favorite comic book character of all time.  I’ve been really upset the past few days about what DC has been doing with him lately, and I thought it would be cathartic for me to write something up about it.  (No, this isn’t a rant about Tim being bi/gay; it’s a much larger problem than that. But I’ll get to that in a bit.) Bear with me for a bit of history, first.
When I was a kid I loved the Batman Animated Series.  I know this will lose me a lot of internet cred, but I always preferred the fourth season. In particular, I loved Tim Drake. He was fun and funny and I absolutely adored him.  I used to beg my mom to take me to the mall so I could buy issues of Gotham Adventures. For my birthday one year my parents got me a subscription to the comic, and I was blown away by the idea that I could have comics MAILED to my HOUSE.
Around middle school I started collecting Marvel comics, mostly X-men stuff.  I loved them, but when I started college I quit the hobby for financial reasons.
Fast forward a few years, and I felt I was financially stable enough to start buying comics again. Rather than going back to Marvel, I decided to give Batman comics a chance.  I had no idea where to start, and when I found out my beloved Tim had his own comic series, I thought it was a perfect entry point into the Batman universe. I bought the complete series from a local comic shop and dove in.
Tim’s Robin series was exactly what I was looking for in a comic.  He was very different from little Timmy Todd from BtAS, but I loved him. I built the rest of my comic collection around him, grabbing up every book that he was featured in, from Young Justice to Teen Titans to Batman, Detective Comics, Nightwing, Red Robin, and many others.  I have random books from series like The Demon just because Tim was in them.
So why did I like Tim so much?  What about this character made me so excited for more?  I found in Tim something that I had never seen in a comic book before: character growth.  Somehow, though he was written by many different authors over many different years, Tim managed to have a character arc that is consistent and makes sense. Sure, there were a few small bumps along the way, but on the whole Tim has always stayed true to his character, and he’s developed in a way that the big name characters, like Batman, never can.
When we’re first introduced to Tim, he’s a young teen who has been neglected by his parents growing up. He’s smart, healthy, and strong, but he lacks so much self confidence and has little sense of self worth.  Tim notices Bruce’s increasing violence as he grieves for the loss of his son, and Tim knows he needs to step in and help.  Batman needs a Robin.
For most characters, this would be the part where Tim put himself forward for the job.  But he doesn’t.  He seeks out Dick Grayson and begs him to come home instead.  It’s only when Batman and Nightwing are in danger and there is literally no one else to help that Tim steps up and dons the cape. And once he does, he’s constantly plagued by self-doubt, terrified he will screw up and leave Batman worse than ever before.
From there, Tim undergoes intense training.  He never begs to be in the spotlight, doesn’t push to go out on the streets before he’s ready.  His goal is to help Bruce as much as possible.
Here’s where I started to fall in love with him.  All that self-doubt, the constant need to be useful?  That’s exactly what you would expect to see from a child whose parents had ignored and neglected him.  He finally has a parental figure who sees him, who values him, and Tim does everything he can to make himself worthy in the hopes that Bruce will keep him around.
This is the first example of character consistency that we see with Tim.  And it continues.  When his mom dies and his dad is put in a coma, you see Tim struggle to come to terms with losing the people he loves, but never had a relationship with.  Tim almost never mentions his mom after her death, because she just wasn’t present in his life.  When his dad recovers and decides to stick around, Tim struggles to build a relationship with him.  He’s plagued with guilt because he’s finally found the father figure he needed in Bruce, but he thinks that he’s supposed to feel that way for Jack.  It’s a running undercurrent in their relationship that creates distance between them for years.
This is already so long, so I’m going to try to summarize a bit more.  We get to watch Tim grow up.  We see his awkward relationship with his first girlfriend, Ariana.  He doesn’t know how to treat her; he’s never had the opportunity to observe a healthy relationship.  But he tries so, so hard.  All of Tim’s relationships are awkward, because he’s never had a model of a good one. Steph is a great match for him, because she’s very vocal about what she wants and needs, and she isn’t afraid to call Tim out when he messes up, which is exactly what Tim needs.
Big things happen to Tim. He’s stuck with Jean-Paul Valley, who slowly goes insane, leaving Tim to try to keep the city in one piece.  He’s infected with the Clench, a plague that sweeps over Gotham and kills everyone it touches, and barely escapes with his life. His girlfriend is sexually assaulted, leaving him to deal with the fallout.  His family moves out of Gotham, and he has to sneak back in during No Man’s Land to help.  His relationship with his dad has intense ups and downs, resulting in him being sent to boarding school, punished in a variety of ways, and generally caused a lot of trouble in his life.
Then people start dying. Over the course of about a year in his life, Tim loses his girlfriend, his dad, a close friend, and his best friend, each of whom dies under tragic conditions.  Tim’s grief is intense, and he is understandably traumatized by the losses. We see fundamental changes in his character.  He changes his costume from something bright and cheerful to something darker that reflects his emotional state.  He’s more subdued, his adventures a little more serious.
When Bruce first tries to adopt him, Tim literally creates an uncle and hires an actor to play him, just to avoid dealing with the situation.  Bruce has viewed Tim as a son for years, so to him the adoption is an obvious step.  For Tim, it feels like a betrayal of his father, and it takes a while before he’s ready to accept Bruce’s love, home, and a place in his family.
When Damian shows up on the scene, Tim really struggles with him, and not just because early Damian is a horrid brat who tries to kill Tim on multiple occasions.  Tim has always felt the need to earn his place with Bruce, and Damian constantly throws all of Tim’s biggest fears in his face—he’s not wanted or needed now that the “real” son is here, he’s not worthy of a place in the family, he’s not good enough.
Tim tries to clone Conner, his best friend.  He’s lost so many people, and he’s desperate to get them back.  Conner was cloned to begin with and fully matured over a very short period of time; the technology clearly exists, so why can’t Tim use it to get his best friend back?  And if he can get Conner back, why not the others he’s lost?  He eventually gives up, but when he eventually gets access to a Lazarus Pit, he immediately wants to incorporate the waters into his process so he can revive his loved ones.  With Dick’s help, Tim eventually decides to let it go, but it’s such a poignant moment for the character.
Then Bruce dies, and Dick takes Robin away.  Tim switches to the Red Robin persona as he travels the world, alone, trying to prove that he was right.  He has to deal with the trauma of losing another father, finds out that his girlfriend never died but let him hurt so much for so long.  His brother and the only close friend he has left both think his grief has overwhelmed his sense and that he’s gone crazy.  He’s utterly alone.
The Red Robin series is such a great culmination for Tim.  He finds a place for himself as a hero, as a CEO.  He gets parts of his family back—Bruce, Steph, Bart, Conner.  He finally figures out who he wants to be and creates a place for himself.
This overarching character development is what I love about Tim.  His many, many traumas impact his decisions, and you can clearly see how he changes over time as a result of them.  I didn’t even go into his development as a leader from his early fumbling with Young Justice to his strong leadership of the Teen Titans, or how his relationships with Conner, Bart, and Cassie develop so fluidly and realistically over the years.
This is why I love Tim. Characters like Batman are static; nothing that happens to them will ever have a lasting impact, because in the end the character always returns to what they were.  Tim, on the other hand, has changed and developed A LOT since his initial appearance.  His growth has always been consistent and logical.
When the reboot happened, all of that character growth was lost.  Tim was replaced with a jerk who betrayed his friends and cheated on his girlfriend.  DC has basically retconned all of this and tried to turn Tim back into who he was, but by taking away all of the things that have happened to him over the years, Tim has lost SO MUCH.
I keep looking for my Tim in recent comics, and I just can’t find him.  It breaks my heart, because I love him so much, and it feels like he’s lost to me forever.  The most recent Young Justice comic series actually gave me hope; I felt like maybe, finally, someone was going to write Tim correctly.  He had his primary friendships back, his relationship with Steph was developing (even if they seem to have completely dropped all the development around Steph’s decision to let Tim think she was dead).  The actual book itself wasn’t fantastic, but it felt like they were headed in the right direction.
Over the last few days, I read the Batman: Urban Legends books.  I actually read the Batman/Red Hood story first, which was fantastic.  I was really excited to read Tim’s story (though I already knew how it ended).  Jason’s character was handled so well, and he seemed to actually have some character development that will hopefully last.  I anticipated the same for Tim.
But Tim’s story was awful. The plot was all over the place—kids are being kidnapped, so Tim has to join a pain cult to get them back?  He’s somehow helping Oracle with computer issues while simultaneously questioning witnesses?  He’s broken up with Steph, off camera, shortly after telling her how much he loves her, but Steph somehow thinks that they should have a caring relationship where Tim tells her what he’s feeling?  Bernard has somehow become a good enough fighter to stand side by side with Robin?  Tim STILL doesn’t have a code name?  Why is everyone suddenly hounding him about what he wants to do with his life?
It’s just such a mess of a story.  If it didn’t end with Tim agreeing to go on a date with Bernard, no one would ever have even mentioned it.  There’s nothing particularly re-readable or enjoyable about it.
I actually liked that they brought Bernard back. I really enjoyed him in the original Robin series. It’s been a while since I read that part of the series (I’m actually working my way back through it now).  I know Bernard always read as gay to me, yet somehow I felt like he was out of character in these books.
And then, the climax of the story.  Tim is bi, or gay, or has at least agreed to go on a date with a boy.
If this had happened in the pre-boot, when Tim was Red Robin and had an actual character arc, I honestly wouldn’t have had an issue with it.  I do think it would have needed a LOT more build up than it was given here.  Tim has always been a very introspective character, and we’ve been party to so much of his internal monologue over the years.  It seems very strange to me that such a huge thing just sneaks up on him out of nowhere when he’s never even thought about it before.
But more than that, this story just feels like the final death blow for the Tim I loved.  The whole arc is about how Tim doesn’t know who he is or who he wants to be.  What will his hero name be?  Will he go to college?  What is he going to do with his life?  These are all great questions, and his answer to all of them is… date a boy?
Is this going to be his defining characteristic going forward?  From here will we just see Tim exploring and discovering his sexuality?  The Tim we have now doesn’t have a family, a team, a purpose, or even a code name.  Why was this the thing that DC decided to give us?  It feels like they wanted to make a gay Robin and decided it would be Tim because they didn’t know what else to do with him.
It’s stupid, but I honestly feel like I’ve spent the past few days grieving the loss of a loved one. The Tim that DC is presenting now is just not the person that I knew.  Tim would never break up with Steph that abruptly for what he admits is no apparent reason.  He would never say “just call me Robin, since Damian’s out of town.”  Everything that I love about Tim seems to be gone, and in its place DC has given me a date with a boy.
Again, it’s not Tim being not-straight that I have an issue with.  I’ve never read the character that way, but it’s something I can live with. My issue is the way it was handled. Why not make Tim an actual person first, and then explore his sexuality?  Send him off to college!  He’s obviously thinking about it!  It’s the perfect opportunity to give him his own book.  He can move to a different city, choose a new name, and DC can introduce a whole new set of characters.  Figure out which parts of Tim’s backstory are still canon, and which have been dropped. Make him a person again, and then let him explore his sexuality.
I know this post is all over the place, and I don’t have time right now to go back and edit it.  I just really needed an outlet for my frustration.  Right now it feels like there are so many people who are so excited about Tim being bi/gay, but they don’t know anything else about him.  I keep seeing people comment how DC has been “dropping hints for years!” with no evidence other than “he and Superboy were really close!”  I guess I’d just really like to have some dialogue with other people who are fans of Tim, rather than fans of Tim-as-bi/gay or fans of Tim-as-straight.
Does anyone else feel this way?  I’d honestly like to have a dialogue about it with other long time fans.

Dark Danny Should’ve Come Back at Least Once
I think most of the Phandom can agree that The Ultimate Enemy was one of the best Danny Phantom episodes ever made, and for good reason. It was incredibly dark of a kid’s cartoon, especially one made by Bitch Hartman, and on top of that, it provided some very interesting lore and characters. We get to see Danny pushed to his absolute emotional limit in a way that I don’t think the show ever did before, save maybe for My Brother’s Keeper in season 1, and we get our first glimpse at Clockwork, who thanks to @five-rivers fanfic Mortified, has become one of my favorite DP characters. And of course, we get to see Dark Danny, or Dan.
But there’s one little thing about this episode that’s always bothered me: the very ending.
Because at the very end of TUE, we get a shot of the Fenton thermos that Dan is sealed away in rocking back and forth, before Dan’s face forms a massive dent in the side, his laughter echoing as the screen fades to the end credits.
You would think, with an ending like that, that Dan would come back in a later episode. That he would return in the series finale is this last big bad, this final demon for Danny to confront once and for all.
But that’s not what happens. And it kinda pisses me off.
Dan should’ve come back. We should have gotten at least one more episode with this guy, exploring more of his character, more of his side of the story, anything at all. And you know what would be a great way to do this?
Vlad.
Imagine this, if you will.
Dan makes his escape from Clockwork’s lair, dead set on finishing what he started. Eventually, he discovers Vlad’s portal (let’s say that Vlad decided to rebuild his here) and, upon coming face to face with the man who made him like this in the first place, freaks out. Dan makes an attempt on Vlad’s life, and Vlad just barely manages to escape.
Once Vlad is sure this strange new ghost won’t find him so easily, he realizes that this new ghost had Danny’s insignia on his chest, and puts it together that Danny must be involved in this somehow.
So Vlad makes his way to Amity Park to confront Danny about this new ghost. Danny assumes that Vlad is there to try to kill Jack or whatever, the two get into a massive fistfight, before Vlad finally tells Danny that he’s only here because a strange new ghost wearing Danny’s insignia popped out of his portal this morning attempting to kill him a second time.
And Danny freezes. He goes from snarky and flippant to sheer, raw terror that has Vlad actually worried. Danny demands to know what this new ghost looks like, and Vlad’s concern turns to fear when Danny’s face goes white with horror because this is the same kid who went up against Pariah Dark without a second thought, who has faced countless ghosts who’s powers could be considered godly with a fearless smile on his face, and Vlad may not have much respect for Danny but he knows what the kid lacks in intelligence he more than makes up for in bravery.
Meaning that whoever this new ghost is must be incredibly powerful, incredibly horrific, and incredibly dangerous.
Danny tells Vlad to go to Danny’s house and tell them to put the ghost shields surrounding the town up, to not try anything funny, and don’t. Leave. The Shields. No matter what.
For once, Vlad decides to take Danny’s lead. He appears on the Fenton’s doorstep, Armani suit ruffled and hair disheveled, telling them that there is a very powerful ghost making it’s way toward Amity Park and they need to put the ghost shields up now, or risk a Pariah Dark-level threat again.
Then Vlad makes his way toward the edge of town, because he still hasn’t gotten an answer from Danny as to who exactly that ghost was, and he’ll be damned if he can’t get an answer.
Meanwhile, Danny is just outside the ghost shields, waiting for Dan to arrive. He’s absolutely terrified, because what if Danny isn’t strong enough this time? What if he fails again, like he almost did before Clockwork turned back time? Would Clockwork do that for him again? Would he have to watch his future burn down this present that he’s taken so long to keep up?
Then Dan arrives. Right as Vlad makes it to the edge of the shield.
And Vlad watches with awe as the two fight. He watches as Danny holds his own against this ghost that had almost decimated Vlad barely 2 hours prior, watches as Danny outmaneuvers, outsmarts this menace, watches as Danny fights tooth and nail in a way that Vlad is sure he’s never seen before, and he realizes that Danny has been holding back. Maybe not at first, maybe not during those first few months, but definitely for a while now, because Danny is holding his own now when Vlad couldn’t.
But then that leaves the question as to why? Why is Danny going all out now? Why was he so scared of this new ghost? More importantly, when did Danny encounter this guy?
Because he had to have fought this ghost at least once before, to have had that reaction to Vlad’s description.
And then, he hears the other ghost’s voice, one that sounds like a strange mixture of his and Danny’s, and he hears him say “It doesn’t matter what you do, Danny. You might’ve stopped that explosion, but there are still so many other things that lead to me. A car crash, an unlucky ghost attack, the ecto-filtrator, Vlad getting lucky, all of them could still happen. Your friends, your family, all gone, and you still turn into me.”
And suddenly, everything makes sense. That ghost that Danny’s fighting, that ghost that attacked Vlad, that is Danny, or it was, before something twisted him into an unrecognizable monster, and Vlad has a creeping suspicion that it has something to do with him.  And he realizes that Danny is so much more than he ever gave him credit for. He sees Danny, fighting his own future with a hope that Vlad would call naive if not for the fact that Danny had already thwarted whatever horrible future lead to this at least once before, and he understands that he was wrong about Danny.
Because this? Fighting against the personification of all the worst parts of yourself not once, but at least twice? It would require a maturity, a strength of will that Vlad knows he himself lacks, and he comes to the stunning realization that for all the childish quips and petty pranks, Danny is far more mature than Vlad ever was, far stronger than Vlad ever was.
And then, Danny does the ghostly wail.
And if Vlad was surprised before, then he's absolutely terrified now. That’s enough power to destroy an entire city, that single wail, and the sound is a bone-chilling scream that rubs the older halfa wrong in every way possible because that sound should not come from someone as young as Danny.
And now Vlad is caught between two realizations: that Danny is so much stronger than Vlad could ever be in every sense of the word, and that the only reason Danny is that strong is because he has to be, because he’s a child being forced to go against all manner of ghostly and cosmic horror all on his own, and Vlad suddenly feels intensely guilty because he should’ve been helping Danny, and instead he’s done nothing but make his life harder.
At that point, Jack and Maddie arrive. They freak out because Vlad is so close to Phantom and this other extremely powerful ghost, what the hell is he thinking!? And Vlad is trying desperately to get them to leave, because Danny looks exhausted and Vlad might be an ass, but he’s starting his redemption arc now and that means making sure Danny’s secret, and by extension Danny himself, is safe from his parents. Vlad knows what it’s like to be on an examination table, knows how terrifying it is to have doctors looming over you with knives and bright lights while you have no idea what’s going on, and he’ll be damned if he lets Danny (who he again reminds himself is very much still a child) go through that with his own parents.
But it’s too late. Danny detransforms right there on the street, in full view of Jack and Maddie and everyone else who’s gathered there (Dan’s been sucked back in the thermos at this point).
Danny turns around, covered in scratches and burns and bruises, blood in his mouth from where Dan punched him in the lip, left arm hanging in an unnatural angle, and he sees everyone: He sees Vlad, icy blue eyes so similar to Danny’s own filled with uncharacteristic worry.
He sees Sam and Tucker, both with wide, scared eyes, and he can just barely see the faint shimmer of tears gathering in their eyes.
He sees Jazz, face pale and her knuckles white as she grips the Fenton peeler with all her strength.
He sees Valerie, her helmet down and exposing a flurry of emotions ranging from shock to anger to horror to pain.
He sees his mom and dad, clinging to each other as they stare at Danny, at their son, and come to the realization that their son is dead, their son is a ghost and he has been for a while now and how did they never notice? How could they not notice that they had been shooting at their own son for at least a year now, that their boy had been putting his afterlife on the line for them while also trying to keep up with school, and evade capture by the GIW, all at the same time?
And Danny is scared, he’s so scared, because his parents look horrified of him and they think he’s a monster, and they hate him, because why else would they be looking at him like that?
He feels his fathers arms wrapping around him and he’s sure, he’s so sure that they’re about to haul him off to their lab to be pinned down and dissected by his own parents, because they saw Dan, they saw what he would become, they saw what he is now, they know now. But then his mom and dad start apologizing, because they never noticed, and they should’ve, they should’ve seen that Danny’s low grades and missed curfews and skipped classes were because he was putting his life on the line for everyone in this town over and over and over again. They apologize for not making him feel safe in his own house, because how many times did they rant about dissecting their own son right in front of him? How many times had Jack and Maddie shown Danny a dissected blob ghost and effectively told him that he was the next one on the list? How much hell did their own son have to go through on his own, because his own parents couldn’t see what was right there?
And Danny finally realizes that no, he’s not going to end up on a dissection table, that his parents do accept him as he is now.
But there’s still this lingering fear because they don’t know. They don’t know what Danny might turn into, and he can’t keep that from them anymore, because Dan is a secret he can’t keep anymore.
Jack and Maddie are confused when their son pulls away, and for a moment they’re worried that Danny’s upset with them, that he’s angry at them, because why wouldn’t he be?
Then they see this nervousness, they see how he’s shaking and tense, and they might not always be able to read the room that well but they can tell that there’s something else going on here that Danny wants to tell them, even if he’s scared to.
So Jack and Maddie ask Danny if he wants to talk about whatever it is back at the house, and Danny says yes, but Vlad, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz should also be there, because Danny needs some level of support and he knows that Vlad won’t stop pestering him about Dan until he tells him.
Valerie steps in at this point, finally getting over her shock to demand to know what the hells going on, was Danny Phantom the whole time? Who was that other ghost? Why did that other ghost say that Danny would turn into him?
Sam and Tucker, who have been through the emotional wringer watching their best friend fight his evil future self, then reveal his identity to his parents, are kinda pissed at Valerie, because Danny’s already stressed out enough as is, she doesn’t need to be adding on to it. A fight almost breaks out between the three of them, which only stopped when Vlad of all people, steps in saying that while Valerie does have a right to know what’s going on, all of this yelling will do nothing but cause problems.
The three simmer down, and they all head over to the Fenton’s house, where Danny tells them everything: the portal, Pariah Dark (Vlad suddenly finds a particularly interesting spot on the floor), and Dan. He tells them about how Jack, Maddie, Jazz, Sam, and Tucker died in an explosion in that timeline, how that timeline’s Danny turned to Vlad to take him in, how Alt!Danny asked Vlad to remove his human half so he wouldn’t feel that pain anymore. How Alt!Phantom had been driven insane by the separation (he leaves out the part where Phantom fuses with Vlad’s ghost half: he’s not sure Vlad wants him to tell them about his halfa status), killing his human half before destroying most of humanity. How Danny had been forced to fight Dan a year ago, when he had attempted to blow up his friends in family in this timeline to ensure Dan’s recreation here.
When he’s finally done, about an hour and a half later, Danny looks around the room: at Valerie, at Vlad, at his best friends, at his sister, at his parents, and he sees not only acceptance, but respect. Pride. Because they saw that Danny was willing to look his fate in the eye, and say that he would change it no matter what. They saw him fight tooth and nail to protect them, they saw him defend them from his own demons with a bravery most grown adults don’t have, much less a 14 year old boy.
And they accept him.

This is my very first post, so I hope I do good! Please give me some feedback, I would love to hear it.
The Umbrella Academy Life Swap:
The Hargreaves switch lives instead of powers.
• Ben ran away at the age of 13 and got lost in the dimension inside his stomach, the Handler eventually finds him and recruits him to the Commission. He works as a super powered agent that saves his victims from his sadistic partners, Hazel and Cha-Cha. Ben doesn’t come back in a 13 year old body like Five, he’s the same age as his siblings, and Ben does know about the apocalypse and has the eye. And unlike Five, Ben actually tells his siblings about the apocalypse and how he was a super powered assassin that acted as the kidnapper and lookout. When the Hargreaves were 13, Ben had tried to talk to Five out of time traveling because logically, he may not know where he would end up, but Five wouldn’t listen to him and started arguing with him. The fighting got so loud that Vanya and Klaus eventually got pulled into the argument as well and it turned into a fistfight with all 4 of them. All of them ended up with scratches and bruises on their faces, a few chunks of their hair missing, and cleaning the mansion floors and ceilings from top to bottom and every single room without using their powers as a punishment for fighting by Reginald. At 2 am, Ben woke up after a nightmare and felt bad about getting Vanya and Klaus into trouble when they didn’t even started the fight in the first place and tried to go to their rooms to apologize, but he never did because the Horror became restless and angry that it didn’t get anything to eat and wanted to make Ben feel how trapped they felt when Reginald always had them kill people, so Ben’s tentacles grabbed him and opened the portal to their world, which was the apocalypse, and trapped him there for 10 years until the Handler came and recruited him and was never seen after that day again. Because of Ben’s disappearance, Vanya and Klaus blamed Five and his ambition for time travel since it was him who argued with Ben in the first place and Five had never forgotten it. Ben hopes that Klaus and Vanya would forgive Five in time. Ben read Klaus’s book about what happened to his family when he disappeared, he read about Luther running away to Dallas to forget about the Umbrella Academy, about Diego staying at the Academy to keep fighting crime, about Allison’s death and how she’s now mute, how Klaus is trying to get sober and stabling himself, how Five became a professor at a prestigious university and a vigilante, and how Vanya took a dark path into alcoholism.
• Five became a lowly-paid physics professor at community college after he was fired for punching a colleague at prestigious university and he’s also a vigilante, but his fiancé Delores doesn’t like it though. Five met Delores at a professor’s conference in Canada where she was presenting her findings on the science of gems and geodes since she’s a mineralogy professor (someone who teaches the study of rocks and crystals) and where he was discussing the possibility of time travel. Those two immediately hit it off and are now engaged, Five proposed to her by using different types of gems to spell it out. Five uses his powers of teleportation to be a mysterious assassin and hero.
• Klaus is a dancer at a local theater and he has somewhat control over his powers, but if the ghosts get too loud, he smokes cigarettes instead of weed so he wouldn’t be high at a recital. He became friends with Leonard Peabody aka Harold Jenkins when Klaus was 23 after his family abandoned him for writing an auto-biography about him having a power that traumatizes him and what the Umbrella Academy was really like behind the scenes, it’s called “The Ghosts Inside the Umbrella Academy: the life of Klaus Hargreaves”. Harold makes him more isolated by threatening to kill himself and haunting Klaus for the rest of his life if Klaus tries to leave him. Since Klaus never had someone ,besides Ben, care for him and give him a home and food since he was living at a homeless shelter when he met Leonard, Klaus thinks that this type of friendship is normal and doesn’t think twice about it. In his book, Klaus portrays his remaining siblings as people who knew about his drug abuse, but didn’t do anything about it; he portrayed Luther as a hotheaded daddy’s boy who was treated like the Golden child, Diego as a momma’s boy with daddy issues always trying to compete with Luther for everything, Allison as his favorite sister who was taken too soon, who’s death was the final straw that tore apart their family, and who acts as a silent ghost mother since she’s mute (no one believes him that he can see her though), he portrays Five as the cause of Ben’s disappearance and as a heartless gremlin who doesn’t care about his siblings enough to see that his siblings are hurting and have real problems of their own, he portrays Ben as his kind-hearted and favorite brother who was the glue that hold their family together and who’s disappearance drove a wedge between the family, and he portrays Vanya as his ordinary violin playing sister that desperately wanted to belong with their family in any way she could, but turned to alcohol when she learned that her dream of being in the Umbrella Academy was crushed by Reginald and who had the easy life of not being exploited by their father for her powers like he was. Vanya actually confronted him about her portrayal in the book and they said some things that they shouldn’t have, but they eventually forgave each other and Vanya moved in with him and Leonard a month later. Klaus didn’t mind that Vanya and Leonard were dating, but saw a striking difference between Vanya and Leonard’s relationship and Vanya and Sissy’s relationship when Vanya came back from the 60s. With Leonard, Vanya was walking on eggshells and isolated from her brothers and couldn’t be herself around him, but with Sissy, Klaus saw that Vanya was happier and could be herself around Sissy and loves Harlan like her own son. Klaus was the one to kill Leonard with his powers by having Allison choke him to death when he badly hurt Harlan with a gun and tried to drown Sissy.
• Allison dies at the age of 17 when her throat was slit by a serial killer on a mission and now acts like Klaus’s mother by always keeping him sober enough to conjure her and giving him healthy advice, but ultimately going along with almost every crazy idea Klaus has. Since she has a slit throat she can’t talk, but she does sign language instead and like Ben, she ages like Klaus, but still wears the same outfit she was buried in: a yellow and green striped dress with a blue flora printed jacket with red heels and a pair of black leggings. She HATES Leonard Peabody because he’s manipulating Klaus into isolation from their family and she tries to get Klaus out of their toxic friendship, but Klaus always denies Leonard’s abuse. She misses her siblings so much that she’s deeply hurt that she had ignored their problems for so long.
• Diego stayed at the Umbrella Academy because he didn’t know how to be anything else but a hero, he also didn’t want to Mom behind, so he began reading and writing code to free Grace from her restrictive rules that Reginald put on her, but after his accident that had him have scars all over his body and face to the point where he lost his left eye and his face is almost beyond recognition, Diego left the Academy when he realized that there was no point in staying and became a recluse in his good friend, Eudora’s house. Unlike Luther, Diego doesn’t have the monkey body because I just couldn’t see that type of body build on David Castaneda. Diego met Eudora at a local boxing gym, Eudora was impressed Diego’s fight skilled and was shocked to know that he was Diego “The Kraken” Hargreaves because Reginald told the whole world including their city and Luther, Klaus, Five, and Vanya that Diego died in an explosion a year ago when he had his accident. Diego ,of course, was pissed that his own father told everyone and his siblings that he was dead instead of saying that he survived the mission and was just scarred for the rest of his life, but he wasn’t surprised that Reginald did that to keep up his reputation. Him and Eudora immediately became fast friends and roommates at her house since Diego had nowhere to go when he left the Academy 6 months ago and was living at an run-down and moldy apartment. They actually tried dating at one point, but because of their conflicted personalities, they decided to just stay friends and roommates.
• 3 months after Allison’s funeral, Luther ran away to escape his father’s tight gripped and cold stare and the house that reminded him of his lovely yet dead Allison when he was 18 years old. He ended up in Dallas, Texas where he became a famous boxer named King Kong since he’s so huge and muscular, met and married a successful TV salesman named Elliott Gussman, and they adopted an African American baby girl who they named Claire Allison Gussman. Luther decided to take Elliott’s last name ,even though it was Luther who proposed to him, to cut his ties off from the Umbrella Academy and the man who turned 6 children into soldiers and who blamed the death of an innocent 17 year old girl that happened to be his adopted daughter on his 4 sons and 1 daughter instead of the person who killed her in the first place. Luther and Elliott had a happy marriage for 3 years until Klaus’s book came out that exposed the secrets of Luther’s past and made him into a hotheaded bully with daddy issues who followed Reginald around like a eager puppy trying to get a reward and a coward ran away from his problems instead of facing them. Elliott was furious at Luther because when Luther came to Dallas he lied about being from a mob family that did all types of shady businesses and that he ran away because his “family” couldn’t understand and accept him being bisexual instead of telling him truth about his abusive father who raised them to be child soldiers, how his brother Diego would always tried to be better than him to their father’s approval, how his brother Five was too smart for his own good, how he loved his sister Allison more than he should, how he tried to forget about Ben’s disappearance, how he ignored Klaus’s drug abuse, and how he denied Vanya’s problem with alcohol for so long. When Elliott read Klaus’s book about what Luther did and who he was, Elliott immediately started arguing with him about his true identity. Luther tried to deny it, but couldn’t because he loves Elliott too much to even hurt him in a way. Elliott actually threatened to separate from Luther when their arguments gotten too much, but he didn’t and instead drove Luther and him to see a marriage counselor so that they could actually talk to each other instead of just arguing. Luther and Elliott eventually made up, but because of the book, Luther is the one that’s more pissed about it and at Klaus for almost making Elliott lose his marriage to him. Btw, Claire is 6 years old in 2019 and was adopted as a baby in 2013 by the Gussman family when Luther was 24 and Elliott was 30, a year after Klaus’s book was published.
• Vanya was introduced to alcohol at 13 years old when Five and Klaus were drinking 2 cases of beer that Five stole, Klaus persuaded her to take a sip of his beer and she hasn’t stop drinking since. Besides the violin and her pills, alcohol was the thing that defined Vanya and her personality. Vanya thought that no one would care about what happened to her since she was so ordinary and isolated that she dumped all of her pills in the garbage disposal and drinks her problems away. With her new coping mechanism, Vanya’s personality changed from quiet and meek to sarcastic and drunk. Five and Vanya left the Academy for college together, but ended up separated by the time they were 20 because Vanya kept drinking her tutition away. By the age of 22, Vanya ended up being homeless because she got kicked out of her apartment for not paying her rent with the money she used to buy alcohol. She still plays her violin, but only for cash instead of at The Icarus Theatre. She also read Klaus’s book and was upset about her portrayal as his alcoholic sister who had an easy life of being ordinary and never going on missions because she doesn’t have a power that can’t be turned off willingly or that can kill somebody; she cried and drank her misery away for 3 weeks until she confronted Klaus about the book, they both admittedly said things that they regretted, but ended up apologizing to each other in the end. She also meets and dates Leonard like in the show and instead of Allison finding the truth about Leonard, it’s Five and Delores who both tried to convince Klaus and Vanya that Leonard is a snake, but they both denied it. Vanya ends up living with Klaus and Leonard when her and Klaus made up when she’s 23. In my first draft I made it Five and Delores that Vanya ended up rooming with, but I wanted to make Vanya and Klaus isolated further by Leonard manipulating both of them. When the house is attacked by Hazel and Cha-Cha, Vanya is the one that’s kidnapped and tortured by them for 2 days and is rescued by Eudora who arrives with back up this time, but is injured in the spine by Cha-Cha. Vanya takes the briefcase and time travels to October 12, 1963 where she ends up falling in love with a woman named Sissy Cooper, a widowed housewife who accidentally ran Vanya over with her car, and becoming a nanny/second mother to Sissy’s 5 year old autistic son named Harlan. Vanya stayed with them until 1966 when a neighbor reported their “unholy” relationship to the police, so to keep them safe Vanya used the briefcase to go back to 2019 with Sissy and Harlan.
—When Vanya gets back to 2019 with Sissy and Harlan, no one believes her story except for Klaus, who promises to her relationship with Sissy a secret from Leonard, and Ben, who was the only one that was worried about her whereabouts in the first place besides Klaus. Vanya tries to become sober for the sake of Harlan not being afraid of her when she gets drunk and for Sissy and her’s relationship since her late husband was an abusive alcoholic, instead of conjuring the one she loves’s ghost like Klaus did in the show. When Vanya was dating Leonard, he would constantly have her and Klaus practice their music and dance at 12am-6am to train them more and if one of them mess up, he’ll have them locked up in a dark and tiny closet with only one dimly lit lightbulb and they would have to balance on a stool on one leg for the duration of their training. Leonard would also take his anger out on Klaus and Vanya if he had a bad day at his shop, which would leave Klaus with bruises on his arms and a black eye and Vanya with scratches on her back and bruises on her neck. (Trigger Warning for those who can’t handle stories with domestic violence) When the 3 of them were 27, Leonard gotten pissed at how independent and successful Klaus and Vanya were getting in their lives by Klaus getting paid more from his dance recitals and Vanya going to AA meetings more to the point of being sober for 3 weeks that he took his frustrations about losing his control out on them by punching and slapping Klaus and choking and scratching Vanya, but thankfully a neighbor called the police after hearing their screams and Klaus and Vanya were taken to the hospital and Leonard was arrested, but unfortunately Klaus and Vanya bailed Leonard out due to dropping charges against him as an apologize.
Here are the things that I changed
• Klaus and Vanya both cause the apocalypse by combining their powers at Klaus’s dance recital with Vanya’s violin because Leonard isolated them from everyone, manipulated them to the point of denying the abuse he put them through, and because of him trying to kill Sissy and Harlan for taking Vanya away from him.
• Five and Delores tries to explain to Vanya and Klaus that Leonard only liked them to get revenge on the Umbrella Academy and it was him that kidnapped Sissy and Harlan to get them to come back to him, but Five gets stabbed in the stomach by Klaus’s new found telekinesis and Vanya makes Five and Delores’s apartment collapsed after knocking Delores out. When the apartment collapses, Allison , who’s coperal at the moment, immediately grabs both a bleeding Five and an unconscious Delores and saves them from death and takes them to the Academy to be treated by Grace. Delores unfortunately loses her right arm to a huge piece of shrapnel lodged into it that’s cutting the circulation.
• When Ben goes to the apocalypse for the first time, he finds Luther with the eye clutched in his hand, Diego wrapped in black bandages holding a woman with a long black ponytail (Eudora), Five in an Armani suit with his eyes opened, and a red headed woman in a polka dotted blouse and a black skirt holding one of Five’s hand (Delores). All of them are dead and Ben finds out that they’re his brothers by the faded black umbrella tattoo on Luther’s wrist when Ben was inspecting the bodies. The bodies that Ben couldn’t find were Allison, Vanya, and Klaus’s, but after learning about Allison’s death from Klaus’s book, Ben kept looking for Vanya and Klaus.
• Vanya gets her burst of powers when Harlan almost drown in the summer of ‘64 in the lake 10 miles away from the farm. Harlan was playing with a beach ball when it got away from him and he tried to get it while Vanya and Sissy were cuddling in the sand and a wave pulled him under the water. Sissy started crying and panicking when Vanya couldn’t get Harlan to the surface, but after a minute of silence she was shocked and relieved to see Vanya holding Harlan in her arms while she’s floating in the lake with glowing white eyes. As soon as they get to shore, Vanya gives Harlan cpr which transfers her newly found powers to him like in the canon.
• Diego doesn’t show himself to his siblings until episode 3 when Hazel and Cha-Cha attack the house because everyone thinks he’s dead and he’s a recluse. He finds out about the attack from Grace (mom) when she calls him from her bedroom phone since they talk every day so that he can know what’s going on and because of these calls, Diego knows about Ben being back, how the funeral went, and how much each of his siblings changed over the years.
• In episode 1, since the siblings’ lives are switched around, the way they found out that Reginald died is slightly different from canon. Luther finds out from the press badgering him after he won a fight, Diego finds out from Eudora when she comes home after work and turns on the Tv in a flash, Klaus finds out during rehearsal on the radio that him and his group are listening to to practice the recital while Allison is dancing in the shadows behind him when the news suddenly comes on, Five finds out from his phone on social media when one of his students sent him the news link after Five teleports to his apartment after saving a 12 year old boy from being abducted by a creep and almost killing said creep by beating him senseless, and Vanya finds out from a bar Tv when she and Leonard are on a date. She immediately calls Klaus who was immediately going to call her to tell her the same thing when he was done rehearsals.
• Just to clarify, since Vanya spent 3 years with Sissy and Harlan in Dallas from 1963-1966, she is 33 years old and Harlan is 8 years old because he was 5 when he and his mom met Vanya. Even though Vanya spent 3 years in the ‘60s, she was only gone for 2 days with Klaus, Five, Delores, Ben, and Leonard searching for her.
• When the Hargreeves all come back for the funeral, the introduction of them to each other are very different. Diego doesn’t show up to the funeral to keep up the reputation of him being dead. Vanya and Klaus show up together, but immediately split up when Vanya goes straight to the bar making drinks for her and her brothers (mostly for her though) and Klaus goes to his old room to reminisce about his past. Five checks their father’s room and office for evidence of something other than a heart attack, he is the one that thinks that Reginald was murdered by someone, and he also greets Vanya and Klaus with Delores who went with him to meet his family. Luther is trying to get through the funeral as possible by almost avoiding his siblings, but that backfires when Five calls a family meeting to talk about their father’s death and Luther sees a tipsy Vanya holding a mix of vodka and rum, Klaus talking to Delores who is laughing at a funny story Klaus is telling, and Five lecturing the remaining siblings on how their father might’ve been murdered.
• Eudora is more present in the show since she survives the gunshot wound in her spine by Cha-Cha, but she ends up being paralyzed from the waist down in a wheelchair. She helps Five with discovering how Reginald actually died and Diego with stepping out into the world and seeing his family for the first time in years. Like in canon, she is the first one to find Vanya at the motel after finding the message that Hazel and Cha-Cha left on the van when they burned down the prosthetic factory after they got drunk off of Vanya’s “special lemonade” which is just lemonade mixed with wine and vodka. Unlike in the show, Delores and Ben go with Eudora as back up in case something goes wrong and it does end up going wrong with Cha-Cha and Eudora having a shoot out with each other in the parking lot that ultimately ends up Eudora becoming paralyzed by Cha-Cha’s bullet ricocheting off a lamppost and lodging into Eudora’s spine with her laser gunand Ben wrestling with his former partner Hazel in the motel room while Vanya is escaping through the vent with the briefcase in her arms and Delores in tow.
Ben breaks Hazel’s wrist and almost beats him to a bloody pulp for kidnapping Vanya, but he stops when he hears Eudora’s screams from outside and sees her on the ground behind her car and he immediately drives her to the hospital while Hazel and Cha-Cha get away before the police show up. Delores and Vanya get on a nearby bus to escape the chaos and they talk about what’s going on in their lives and Delores talks about how Leonard treats Klaus when they’re alone, but Vanya denies any abuse and opens the briefcase. The last thing Vanya hears is Delores screaming.
• The episode “The Day that Wasn’t” doesn’t exist in my AU and is instead replaced with an episode called “Welcome to the 60’s” where Five interrogates Sissy and Harlan about the past while working on the beat up briefcase to learn more about how to time travel. Eudora and Diego talk about how their long time friendship has become into a sibling relationship and about how Diego can reconnect with his siblings again. Luther and Delores discuss how they both want a normal and ordinary life with their husband and fiancé respectively, but fail to see that things can never go back to way they were. Ben goes off on his own to find the truth about Leonard Peabody, but finds himself at Griddy’s where he sees Hazel kissing Agnes and talks to them about his problems. Agnes gives Ben advice about how he can reconcile with his family by actually giving them time to process him being a time traveling assassin and him telling Five to not feel guilty about causing a rift between him and Vanya and Klaus because it wasn’t Five’s fault that Ben “ran away”.
I’ll continue the rest of the story when I have the time. Right now I just want to post this.
