──   𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈 𝐊𝐘𝐎𝐘𝐀.
he knows penguin mating practices
he gets why you’ve given him a pebble
but he already knew you liked him before this
accepts the pebble and holds his hand out for you to take
also asks you what criteria you had in mind for this gift because he just wants to know what you deemed suitable for him
“i don’t know, it just had to be nice looking.”
he shouldn’t have expected much more, tbh
actually really likes telling people how you guys started dating
because he thought it was really wholesome
if he ever proposes, you bet he’s giving you a pebble-
the ring comes later, pebble first
──   𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐙𝐔𝐊𝐀 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈.
gives you one back
also knows about penguin mating practices
but he’s determined to out-pebble you
he will find the smoothest, roundest pebble ever
you gave it to him while inwardly having a heart attack
and then he hummed, turned around and started sifting through the pebbles left on the beach
tossing aside any that weren’t fit for you
when he finds one, you get to swap pebbles
n you get a lil kiss on the forehead as he pulls you along by the hand
or if you want, you can get a piggyback
he’s happy for either as long as he gets to be with you
──   𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐈𝐍 𝐊𝐀𝐎𝐑𝐔.
raises eyebrow
is very confused but accepts the pebble regardless
asks you about it
when he figures it out he squeals and bear hugs you
“THAT’S SO CUTEEEEE-”
your contact name is now ‘penguin’
he will maybe find you a pebble as well, and then he sets up a craft station so you can make pet rocks out of them
you made them look like each other
so you’ll be with each other even if you’re not physically there
also his pet name for you is literally ‘pebble’
and it greatly confuses everyone else

Being The Ouran High School Host Club’s Personal Assistant
After Haruhi became a host and was no longer the “errand-boy” of the group, Kyoya decided to hire a club assistant
You were a commoner from a local school who found the application online. Kyoya ended up hiring you because all the girls who applied from Ouran and other rich schools were only interested in getting close to the boys.
You didn’t even know who they were, and you had the perfect “commoner’s work ethic” that he was looking for
So, everyday after school, you’d walk up to the enormous gates of Ouran Academy to start your new part time job
Your job isn’t too difficult. You prepare tea and instant coffee, bake cakes, clean up at the end of the day, make runs to the grocery store, sell merchandise, and help Kyoya prepare for special events
The twins had some cute clothes from their mom’s fashion line brought in for you to wear as uniform
Speaking of the twins, they IMMEDIATELY take a liking to you (little devils)
They’re practically attached to your hip everytime they’re not with guests, asking you what you’re doing, what your school is like, how your grades are…
But that doesn’t stop them from accidentally giving you too many orders…
Tamaki tried to make you swoon right away, kissing your hand and offering you a rose
Kyoya had to shoo him away
“Tamaki that’s not a customer, please don’t make them fall in love with you”
But after that, Tamaki develops a fatherly persona around you, much like he did with Haruhi at first
He’s always applauding you when you do something difficult, worrying about your feelings, apologizing profusely when something bad happens…
But that also doesn’t stop HIM from accidentally giving you too many orders
Kyoya might be a little strict, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t feel a bit protective over you
One time when you were walking up to the music room a group of guys from Ouran started hitting on you, and Kyoya came up behind you and put his arm around your waist, immediately scaring them off
You’re wonderful at managing his stress. Often times after everyone goes home, you’ll find him buried in paperwork at his laptop, and you’ll just set a cup of tea down next to him and ask him what you can do to help
He really appreciates your hard work, even if he doesn’t really like saying it out loud. You’ll notice that he sometimes leaves you little gifts in the kitchen, like fancy tea cups or flowers 😊
Honey LOVES you. He jumped right into your arms as soon as you walked through the door.
Mori just scooped him up and apologized, telling you this was just how Mitskuni was
Honey is constantly jumping in your lap and snuggling up to you (partially bc you make his favorite cakes for him) and it makes all the other guys jealous
He says you make the best cake in the world, and even asks you to teach him how you make it!
And you’re the only one he lets hold usu-chan 🥰
Mori has a special relationship with you. You’ll often initiate conversations with him, and the other members are so shocked to see him actually opening up to you
He always compliments you on what a good job you’re doing, thanking you for taking care of them all so well ❤️
He also has a habit of just picking you up and carrying you away from the kitchen whenever he thinks you’re working too hard 😳
Haruhi literally becomes your best friend
She won’t hesitate to yell at Tamaki and the twins for ordering you around too much
She always offers to help you with your chores! She also had that “commoners work ethic” so she really doesn’t mind accompanying you to the grocery store or boiling some water while you frost the cakes
Tamaki gets SO jealous when he sees you and Haruhi hanging out at the mall on your own over the weekend
He actually ends up shyly approaching you to ask how he can get Haruhi to like him 🥹
Renge was a little jealous of you at first, thinking you were taking her job as manager, but when she found out you were a commoner, and an assistant, she felt more comfortable around you
She has you pull the lever for her rising platform, install new “powerful motors” in different locations for her to pop up out of, and bring her microphones
One time the generator died and you just stacked two tables on top of each other and held a fog machine in front of her 💀
She somehow gets you into some of her otaku interests, making you laugh over the character that resembled Kyoya
After a while you met Nekozawa
He crept his head out of the door and invited you over to visit the dark magic club, and your curiosity got the best of you
Kyoya noticed you were missing and burst through the doors to see you sprawled out on the floor over a pentagram, Nekozawa chanting overtop of you 💀
Kyoya immediately scooped you up and went OFF on Nekozawa 😳
“If you EVER try to use my valued assistant as a human sacrifice again I SWEAR the Ootori family will END you!”
God help you if you ever have any problems with bullies at your school
The host club will suddenly appear behind you and intimidate the heck out of them
You’re a part of the Host Club family now! They’re not going to let anyone push you around!
They also start lovingly intruding on your personal life (Haruhi will help you cope with this)
They’ll invite you on outings with them as well, like to the water park or on vacations with them
Overall, being the personal assistant to the Ouran High School Host Club is a lot of fun. It’s certainly an experience you’ll never forget :)

What’s in it for me?
Chapter 8
Chapter 1     Masterlist
Pairing: Kyouya Ootori x Reader Author: see-the-fandom-imagines   Warnings: Kyouya in a bad mood, other than that mostly cute fluff, filler Author’s Note: I hope you will like it! One tiny question: I have been thinking about uploading this same fic with a few changes that would be required, but using male pronouns. I feel like our male readers get too little attention every once in a while, so let me know in case anyone would actually be interested in reading this with male pronouns! The next morning you awoke early. You needed a moment to realise where you were, but Haruhi’s steady breathing soon reminded you of everything that happened the day before. You groaned and stretched, before carefully sitting up. Bright sun light shone through the curtains, so you decided you might as well should get up and make some breakfast. You owed everyone as much for scaring them like you did. Quietly you walked into the bathroom. Looking into the mirror you noticed that your eyes were still a little puffy from crying, but that was nothing that a little cold water couldn’t save. You brushed your teeth and quickly washed your face, before slipping into your everyday clothes and sneaking downstairs. No one was there yet, and you enjoyed the short moment of calmness, a rare occasion when being anywhere with the host club. You had to admit you probably were relaxed for the first time in weeks, although you knew you also had to thank the six boys for that who were still sleeping upstairs. Silently you checked the fridge and the pantry for food and you actually found almost all of the basics – eggs, rice, flour, sugar … You could work with that. You had just finished heating the pan, when you heard steps coming down the stairs into the kitchen. You turned around to see who it was, after you had poured the first load of dough into the pan. “Mori-Senpai”, you greeted. “Good morning!” You smiled at him and he smiled back. “Good morning.” He stepped closer to see what you were doing. “I am making breakfast, I thought it was the least thing I could do after … after yesterday.” You carefully flipped the pancake, before turning towards him, as you noticed something. “I never really thanked you properly, but… well, thank you. Really.” You looked him in the eyes. “For saving my life. And everything in general, too.” You bowed down as deeply as you could without falling to your knees. He was quiet for a while, but then you felt the weight of his hand on your head as he ruffled your hair. Surprised you looked up into his smiling face. You knew this was his way of saying that it was alright. You smiled up at him. “If you want to you can sit down, I’ll bring the breakfast out in a bit.” “Let me help you.” “But…”, you started but he shook his head. “Please.” You chuckled and gave in. If he said he wanted to help, that’s what he wanted to do. You always enjoyed Mori’s simplicity in this regard. “Alright! You can make some pancakes if you want to? They’re mostly for Honey-senpai and the twins whenever they wake up!” Mori nodded and took the spatula from you. The rest of the morning was spend in a comfortable silence, only interrupted by you giving Mori some cooking tips and asking which vegetables and leftovers he wanted in the soup.
Proudly, Mori showed you the big stack of pancakes he had just made, and you gave him a thumbs up. “Amazing! Now we just have to wait for …” “I smell pancakes!” You almost flinched as you heard the older hosts voice behind you. When did he get up? Had he been awake this whole time? Slowly you turned around, looking into his happy face. “We made some for breakfast, I had a feeling you’d like them”, you said, trying not to be freaked out by his weird sense of smell for sweets. “Yay!”, he proclaimed, “Let’s set the table, so we can eat!” You nodded and handed Honey a stack of plates, when suddenly Mori stepped in front of you, grabbing your chin with one hand and lifting your head to look at him. You felt the heat creep onto your cheeks at his touch. “M-Mori-senpai”, you stammered, but then he lifted his other hand and gently wiped something of your face with his thumb. His fingers felt warm on your face and his touch was soft. A lot softer than how Kyouya had touched you yesterday. With wide eyes you stared up at him. “Flour”, he explained and immediately you understood and relaxed your shoulders again. “Oh”, you said, but before you could react any further, two very well-known voices appeared next to you. “Hey hey, are we interrupting something?” Immediately, Mori let go of your face as if he had been burnt by it. Hikaru appeared next to his brother. “Is there a secret kitchen party and we haven’t been invited?” You rolled your eyes. “Yeah, huge kitchen party, too bad, you’re late.” “Hey”, Kaoru started poking your cheek. “That’s mean”, Hikaru said, poking the other one. “You know me”, you shrugged, “mean to the core.” “Have you made breakfast?”, they realized at the same time. “Yes.” “But why? “Yeah, there’s maids for that.” “Well, there are no maids here as you can see.” “Well, then there’s delivery”, Hikaru shrugged, and you waited for Kaoru’s response but instead he smiled down at you. “Thanks.” Hikaru sent him an irritated gaze, but you beamed up at him. “You’re welcome, now go, go, set the table if you want to eat!” “Do we have to?”, they groaned in unison, but a raised eyebrow from you was enough to get them to move. You shook your head, watching your friends set the table and a weird sense of security and happiness washed over you. It weirdly felt like home. Just… safe. Although a few people were still missing. Smiling at the view, you saw Tamaki and Haruhi walk down the stairs, bickering again, but stopping as they saw the almost fully set breakfast table. “(Y/n) have you done all this?”, Tamaki asked, but you shook your head. “I had some help." You smiled at Mori. “You could have woken me up, I would have helped”, Haruhi protested, but you shushed her quickly. “That’s exactly, why I didn’t wake you! You deserved some rest.” You looked around. “Well, Kyouya-senpai is still missing.” You checked your watch. “I better go wake him up.” Suddenly you felt the gaze of all the hosts on you. “Better don’t do that”, Hikaru said. “Not if you want to live”, Kaoru finished. “What do you mean?” “Kyouya has the blood type AB”, Tamaki explained, but you still were a little confused. “So?” “Kyouya really doesn’t like to be woken up”, Honey said, while already stuffing his face with his first pancake. “You are not the one to talk”, Mori solely commented on his cousin’s utterance, but since you also could not really place this, you just sighed. “Ah, come on, guys, it can’t be that bad … right?” “Try it at your own risk”, the twins said, shrugging, while already sitting down at the breakfast table and you gulped. “Well, I think he is going to be angrier, if we let him sleep and we miss our car back, so I guess I’ll… try my best.” But you had barely finished the sentence, when you were already beginning to doubt your idea.
Carefully, you made your way up the stairs and turned to the left where you knew Kyouya's room was located. You knocked carefully, but didn’t get a reply. You knocked again. Still nothing. You gulped heavily and decided to go in. Once you had stepped inside your eyes needed a moment to adjust to the darkness and suddenly you weren’t so sure anymore of what you were doing here. You had entered Kyouya’s room without his permission, to wake him up, also without his permission. Even morning people would have every right to be pissed at you and he apparently was the complete opposite of a morning person. Biting your lip you questioned why you were here again and thought about simply turning around, it was not too late to just leave again, but then you remembered the feeling of seeing everybody help out in the kitchen. And how happy that had made you. And how much you had noticed Kyouya’s absence in this moment. A part of you really wanted him to be part of this memory. Maybe it was foolish, but now that you were already inside his room you decided there was no going back. You took a deep breath, and carefully stepped closer to his bed. You looked at his sleeping face and couldn’t help but notice how relaxed he looked. You smiled a little to yourself. His hair was messy from sleep and he seemed unusually relaxed. He was always so composed, seeing him in this state was highly unusual, but you had to admit that you liked it. The messy hair was weirdly attractive. You swalled down the lump in your throat and knelt down beside him. “Kyouya-senpai”, you whispered, but he still didn’t move. “Kyouya-senpai”, you tried again, this time a bit louder. You sighed. This was not working. You stood back up again, and carefully moved his shoulder. “Kyouya-sen…” But this was as far as you got, for in the next second you felt Kyouya’s grip on your wrist that had just tried to shake him awake. The sudden pull of his touch made you fall over. Your upper body collided with his and your faces were just inches apart from each other as you now stared into his eyes. The usual brown-greyish colour had turned black and you felt a shiver run down your spine as he looked at you. “First you won’t let me sleep and now you wake me early in the morning?” His voice was ice cold. Wait, not let him sleep, what have you …Oh no, you must have woken him up last night with your crying. Immediately your face went bright red, thinking that he had heard your absolute breakdown. Your mouth went dry and your thoughts went blank. How much had he heard? Had he heard you cry? Had he heard anything at all? You felt your cheeks grow hot with embarrassment. You felt his chest moving with his chest against yours, his fingers burning into your wrist and you were way too aware of the warmth radiating from him. You tried to think of something to say, anything. You wanted to apologize for waking him both yesterday and today, but you realized you were close enough to smell the faint scent of cedar and lavender that always seemed to surround him and it clouded your thoughts. All you could perceive was the warmth of his skin against yours and how close his face was. This was getting really weird, you had to say something, anything to make this better. Just apologise, (y/n), apolo … “I made breakfast.” You slapped yourself internally, but nothing else would come over your lips. You swallowed hard and looked down at him. His eyes seemed to regain a bit of colour, although, he had still gripped your wrist tightly and seemed slightly murderous. “You… made breakfast?”, he asked back. “Yeah.” “…” “…” “You wake me up ... to tell me you made breakfast.” “Yeah.” He seemed to think for a second, before you could feel his chest begin to vibrate with a low chuckle. “You made breakfast”, he repeated again and finally let go of your wrist. Right away you scrambled back up to your feet, although you were immediately missing the warmth. Kyouya sat up and looked at you. It was impossible for you to guess what he was thinking. He still radiated a slight murderous spirit, but at least he didn’t seem like he wanted to decapitate you on the spot anymore. “I’ll be right down.”
Trying to steady your breath you made your way back down the stairs, your legs a little wobbly from the second close call with death in the last two days and only now noticed that all the other hosts, including Haruhi had gathered at the foot of the staircase, looking up at you expectantly. Before you could react, you found yourself in Tamaki’s embrace. “Oh, (y/n), you can’t imagine how glad we are that you are alive and well!” You blinked a few times. It had been scary, but now he was overdoing it. “I am fine”, you tried to get out between him squeezing you, and it took the help of both twins to peel him away from you. “You don’t look fine”, they observed and you realized, that you probably still were blushing quite heavily. They seemed to mistake it for fear. “No worries, (y/n)-chan! You’re safe now!”, Honey assured you with a serious gaze. “And now sit down and have breakfast with us! A few pancakes will help you get better!”
It didn’t take long for Kyouya to come downstairs, neatly dressed and styled as always. It was as if he was a completely different person. “Good morning”, he wished everyone at the table and they responded. “Good morning, (y/n)”, he said to you in particular, his voice cold, and you knew he was still mad at you for waking him up. “Good morning”, you mumbled back. You had just gotten up to get Honey a few more pancakes, and immediately made your way back into the kitchen to grab another bowl of rice, a miso soup and some of the fish from yesterday you had been frying up again. You placed them one by one in front of Kyouya who looked at you with an unreadable gaze. “I said I made breakfast”, you mumbled, and shrugged, avoiding eye contact. “And I remember you once said you don’t really like sweet stuff, so I made something savory, too.” Kyouya didn’t reply and you didn’t dare to look into his face so you made your way back to your seat to finish your own breakfast. You tried to ignore him, but somehow you caught your gaze wandering back towards him, eyeing the food in front of him suspiciously. You knew it tasted fine, you had had some yourself and Mori had also told you it’s delicious, so you weren’t sure why you were so worried about what Kyouya might think about it. You chewed on a bite of rice, and acted as if you were listening to something Haruhi was telling you, but actually you were watching the dark-haired host from the corner of your eyes, curious about how he'd react. You watched him separate a piece of fish and put it in his mouth. He halted for a second and looked at you, almost surprised. Your gaze met his for a second, but he immediately averted his gaze and focused it on the food again. You had to turn back to Haruhi, so that she wouldn’t realize that you hadn’t been listening to a word she said, but you could have sworn that you had seen a small smirk on Kyouya’s face, as he took a second bite and somehow this made you irrationally happy.
Kyouya for his share did not remember when he had last eaten a homecooked meal like that. Trying to show as little emotion as possible, he nonetheless gladly realized that she seemed to be feeling better. A small smile played on her lips now and he watched her talk and laugh with the other hosts. That sight might have even been worth getting woken up for. Might.

What the Ouran Members Would Bring to the Gift Exchange:
Heads up, this is aggressively long at 1k words, but it was a blast and a half to write, so enjoy!
Honey - He’s been forever banned from bringing sweets because he either a) eats them all on the way home from the store, b) eats them at home in the middle of the night, c) eats them all on the way to the party, or d) guilt trips whoever gets his gift into giving him the tasty snack. Thus, Honey is NOT allowed to bring anything edible -  Honey brings the largest, fluffiest, and pinkest stuffed animal bunny that money could possibly buy.
Mori - Baby chickens - this guy loves his animals, and assumes that naturally everyone else also loves animals, right? He hadn’t been watching his roosters and chickens as closely as he thought he’d had, and baby chickens hatched! So, he brought the joy of life to the gift exchange. This year it was held at the twins’ place, and Kyoya made the mental note to put in NO LIVE ANIMALS ALLOWED AS GIFTS OR IN MY HOUSE in the invitation note when it was his turn to host the next year.
Kaoru -  A collection of his favorite books, teas, and candies. He was hesitant at first because some of the books meant a lot to him, and he was sensitive about being teased about the things that truly meant something to him. He still went with this gift though because it would be fun to enjoy now that it was cold outside, and they all couldn’t go out as much as they wanted.
Hikaru - A giant chest full of magic and prank toys. Some are quite expensive and others are cheap, commoner ones that he’d been researching for a few weeks. It’s an odd gift for the exchange, but they are all odd members, and Hikaru actually put a surprising amount of thought into the gift.
Haruhi - A bento box. Haruhi was desperate for ideas on what to give the richest people she knew, the ones who had just about anything they could possibly desire. As the day for their first gift exchange drew nearer, and was thinking of ways to get out of the event, she overheard the twins discussing how much they wanted to try her cooking again. Whether a planned overhearance or not, Haruhi thought that a bento box would be a great idea. When thinking it over, the only one who wouldn’t like the box would be Kyoya, and even though her luck in regards to the club was 50/50 for good or bad, she liked the 5 out of 6 chances that someone would be thrilled. She searched everywhere for a cute present shaped box, all green with a red bow. She carefully cooked the rice, rolled the omlet, and put the food together nicely. Haruhi also made some cookies and placed them in a pretty bag to go with the bento. It was a lovely gift, and, as expected, the most fought after gift at the exchange.
Kyoya - A crisp new dollar bill. There is a graph of How Recently have the Club Members Annoyed Me to How Much the New Bill Will Be constantly tallied up in his head. He even, out of boredom, created an app for that sole purpose of being able to show the chart to Tamaki when Tamaki accused Kyoya of going cheap on them all. The 25 recent calls in the span of an hour the week previously about a play by play of making snowman and then Oudette eating the carrot did not help in Tamaki’s favor. Kyoya also gets away with just giving money because, well, he’s Kyoya, and because he does actually go to the bank (or at least, sends someone), and he can make the argument that it’s essentially the same as going to the store. Really, Kyoya should have been a lawyer, everyone that has any other complaints about the money, eventually gives up.
Tamaki - A portrait of the entire Host Club smiling and frolicking while playing Kick the Can, painted by himself. He said he’d taken classes for months in order to perfectly capture the liveliness and love between all of the members.
Bonus: Who ended up with what?
Honey: Hikaru’s chest of pranks. He can’t wait to find more ways to torment his brother.
Mori: Haruhi’s bento box - He drew the last number, and used his Ultimate Steal to steal the bento even after it had been locked in by being stolen too many times. He ate a cookie at the exchange ever so smuggly, gave his compliments to Haruhi, and then finished the rest the next day while studying. It was by far the best food he’d eaten all week.
Kaoru: Kyoya’s money. He was thinking of buying a new game with it. He’d seen one in the store, and it would be more enjoyable to play knowing Kyoya had bought it. But then Haruhi messaged in the group chat after the party to let everyone know she’d made it home safely (so they wouldn’t follow her home to make sure of it themselves, most likely), warned them all to be careful in the snow, and wished them once again happy holidays. Kaoru decided at that moment that he really didn’t need more money. He broke the bill down into smaller bills and placed them in Haruhi’s bag when she wasn’t looking throughout the next two months for her to find later. That was like a gift in itself to him when she grinned at having found an extra bit of money she hadn’t realized was there before.
Hikaru: Kaoru’s books, teas, and candies. Kaoru was puzzled because Hikaru could just borrow his, but Hikaru shrugged and took his gift quietly. He’d been feeling a little distant from Kaoru lately, and reading what he enjoyed might help Hikaru find that connection he was craving.
Haruhi: Honey’s bunny. She’s actually quite excited for it, and uses it as a resting cushion when she watches TV and studies. More often than not though, she falls asleep and has the sweetest, softest dreams shrouded in pink.
Kyoya: Tamaki’s portrait. He didn’t particularly want it, he claimed, but he knew it would go for enough money on their auction page to support club activities for nearly a month. The portrait is now hanging in a corner of his room.
Tamaki: Mori’s baby chickens. Tamaki is not known for his ability to think things through, restrain himself, or full picture thinking. He adopted the baby chickens and promptly made them his entire family’s problem.

I don't know why but I feel like Tamaki is a horrible cook
Ok ok ok ok, hear me out I love tamaki and I'm not saying this to diss him but I feel like he is a horrible cook.
He is banned from cooking or bringing things in the host club because he tried cooking lunch for the host club and they all got food poisoning....... Haruhi and Kyoya have both threatened to quit the club if he ever brought something he cooked near them ever again.
He is also trash at baking and is banned from baking, they found this out after honey made the mistake of asking him to bake with him.... Honey said of he ever saw him baking something ever again he would roundhouse him.

When you guys first got together, little paper-craft animals would appear in places he knew you would see. You only discovered it was his work when one day, he said a little, “ oh! “ and then held out an adorable paper-tanuki. You keep them all, don’t you?
That isn’t to say he doesn’t still do it. No, no, you will occasionally find a little cat or so still! Once there was even a little chick.
Before dating him, you may have encountered a rude person, bully, or unwanted flirts. Once y’all were together, magically that slate was wiped clean… Did you gain a boyfriend or a guardian angel? (Trick question, answer is both!)
Now, we all know how quiet he can be—speaking only when necessary or so. As such, you have occasionally been referred to as the “ Mori Whisperer “ due to your accidental talent at being able to read this man like a book. Like, the easiest book. One time, you glanced at him from across the room, sprung right up, and left. Everyone was confused, and then even more so when you came back with … poetry book? God, they were even more confused.
When you turned and saw them looking at you, missing Mori’s second-long starstruck expression, you simply went, “ What? He had his ‘poetry book’ look in his eyes. “ No one knew which to question more, how you knew that or how you saw that look FROM ACROSS THE ROOM.
Alright, home boy surprised the death out of you once though. You’re great at reading him, but you had never met an exhausted Mori, so imagine the shock on your face as you were leaving with him from the club room after a late night, and right before leaving out, his hands slipped into yours and pinned you to the wall. His head hung low, resting against your shoulder. Silence. A little squeak of awkwardness slipped your lips and he smirked against your skin, mumbling something about how cute you were and how hard it was to focus on anything else if you were in the room. Even when you were gone he couldn’t focus! He rose up, gave you a smooch on the forehead, and then carried on with a yawn.
You wondered if he could hear how loud your heart was thundering in your chest on the way to your rides home.
If you’re shorter than him—let’s be real, he’s 6’4. I dare you to be taller—he will wordlessly hoist you up in some way, shape, or form. Prove me wrong? Within reason, of course (like ceiling height limits), he is either going to encourage caring you on his back, shoulders, or in his arms (won’t confess to it, but he may, just a teensie tad bit, prefer this method)
If you ARE taller than him, don’t think you’re safe from being picked up. He will just tug you into a hug, contemplate silently for a second, and then WHOOSH, hoist you on up!
Tumblr media
You see this? This right here? Yeah, he’s picking you up like this and looking into your eyes. If you’re lucky, you will catch his lips curl up into a fond smile.
Shares his food with you. Whether you have a habit of not eating or not, he will know. Mori is shockingly in tune with knowing whether you’ve had enough to eat or not—and if you’ve had the proper food groups. He grew up with the words most mischievous, sweets-loving little martial artist! Best believe he is either gently nudging a plate of yumminess to you OR holding it out for you to eat (cue the swooning in the background at such an adorable display of love!)
Mori will hold a bit of food for you to take, leaning into his propped-up hand with a smile in his eyes. When you take it, he can’t help but imagine you looking like an adorable little puppy or something and is quick to quietly take his gaze elsewhere, lest he wants his pale complexion to bloom with the ripest of rosy hues!
Rarely seen without Honey, but when you came into the picture? That because a, “ rarely seen without one of them, pretty much never alone ”. At first it was because Honey didn’t trust you being good enough for Mori and had to make sure you were good enough (what? you think someone’s following you? Oh, no, no, no, you’re um, seeing things. Yeah.) Now it’s just because it happens organically… or does it?
After the initiation period, you and Honey actually get along well. If Mori isn’t there when you come into the club room, Honey will beckon you over to hang out with him! Some of the girls love to visit him especially if you’re there because of the adorable older sibling caring for younger sibling dynamic you inadvertently fall into place of.
Mori may or may not have came in to see this once. Swore his heart nearly popped like a ballon as he saw your face contort into a playfully scolding expression saying, “ Honey-senpai, watch out! You’re spreading strawberry cream all over your face. “ He totally wasn’t imagining you taking care of children or anything, not at all. Not with those kind, gentle hands.
You’re, you’re sorely mistaken!
On particularly slow or boring days, he just might (with permission, of course, he is no heathen!) run his fingers through your hair absentmindedly. If you rest against him or lay your head in his lap, he will pray that you cannot hear how loud HIS heart is.
Also, his love language is acts of service. You don’t even have to ask him for help, he just magically appears (which has startled you a few times! you’ve joked a few times about getting him a little bell to hear him coming. he may have snorted at that, but when you turned back to look at him, he had a neutral expression…). Like, literally magically appears. One time you were having trouble on homework, and guess who sprung up a surprise visit? That’s right.
Morinozuka Takeshi, in the flesh. Cue a comedy scene worthy montage of you getting nice and presentable before letting him into your study room. He said he was also having trouble, but once the impromptu study sesh began, you discovered it was a lie! He was too good at this to be having trouble!
Who told him you needed help?!?

Warnings: just fluff <3
This is so random and I greatly apologize. They just randomly came to my head and I decided to write them down lmao.
Takashi Morinozuka (Ouran High School Host Club), and Ushijima Wakatoshi (Haikyuu) are the kind of guys who would always have a hand on your lower back if you guys were dating.
They would just want to make sure that you were always okay and they never want to leave your side.
Also they would also be finding the most random things for little gifts. Like imagine them just coming up to you and handing you a rock that they thought looked cool.
If you’re sad? They are right there beside you, but if you needed to be alone they would give you that space.
Would always send you the cutest little messages throughout the day.
- “I love you.”
- “You look pretty.”
- “miss you.”
That kind of thing!
That was so random and I apologize again. I just love these two so much and I think they would be fairly similar in a relationship.

Being the Unofficial Gardener of the Ouran High School Host Club Headcanons
Tumblr media
anonymous said: “Hi! I've read your rules and i really like the ohshc thing you did so I'm going to request if that's ok? this is like an Oc without a name, Reader is the quote and unquote gardener of the host club. ( i cannot believe they just don't have a supplier when they use that many flowers i mean c'mon) Their grandpa owns a successful business selling flowers. Reader's grandpa raised them, Thats because readers mom died giving birth to them and readers dad died of cancer. (Reader used to get bullied for this since all the other kids at school thought their grandpa was going to sell them). Reader kind of has this standoffish personality. but just doesn't know how to communicate properly when you get to know them, they're actually really goofy.”
It’s true, the host club could never function without a reliable flower supplier. And lucky you, your grandfather happened to own the most successful flower business in the country. That’s how you were able to afford going to Ouran Academy.
The partnership began during your first year there. You shared a few classes with Kyoya, but you were never very close with him because of his intimidating family background.
He was also a bit intimidated to talk to you because of your closed off personality, and the rumors that had been going around about you being bought from your parents by a strange old man for garden labor didn’t help.
However one day, he decided to listen in on a conversation you were having with one of your friends. You were talking about a great sale your grandfather had made to supply flowers for a government ceremony.
He immediately felt guilty for falling victim to vicious gossip, but connected the dots about your family quickly. And of course, that got the gears in his head turning.
He was still in the early planning stages of founding the Host Club with Tamaki, and securing a trustworthy flower supplier was something they had been worried about
So, being the strategic communicator he is, he smoothly approached you and invited you over to the Ootori residence for a cup of tea
You were shocked that someone with such high status as him was interested in associating with you, but as soon as you realized it was a business proposition, you opened up a bit more
You were happy to get your grandfather another customer, especially one as wealthy as Kyoya, and soon you were making plans on what flowers and what arrangements he wanted
Fast forward to now, you’re both second years and the Host Club is thriving, you almost can’t keep up with the amount of flowers they go through
Most of the work you do is behind the scenes, so you didn’t really get to interact with any of the other club members
That was, until one day when your grandfather asked you to make a delivery to the club with a huge batch of flowers so he could attend a business meeting
You were nervous, but agreed anyway. Luckily there weren’t any guests in the music room yet, just the club members
Immediately a gush of rose petals blew in front of your face, and the sight of six handsome guys greeted you
You just stood there like a deer in the headlights
Tamaki was the first to approach you, taking your hand in his and kissing the back of it
“Ah, what a beautiful blossom that’s bloomed before us as our first guest today. Would you do me the honor of telling me your name, my princess/prince/ noble?”
“Y/N?” a voice suddenly asked. You both looked over to see Kyoya entering the room, surprised to see you but not at all displeased.
“You know each other?” Tamaki gasped.
“Yes, this is Y/N Y/L/N. They’re the grandchild of our flower supplier. It’s all thanks to them that we have enough flowers for all our events.”
All the guys immediately started crowding you, asking you a million questions at once.
You were a little overwhelmed, but just smiled politely and answered all their questions.
“You’re so lovely, it’s a wonder I haven’t seen you around the academy before.” Tamaki smirked, flirtatious as always.
“Well, I tend to hang out in the shadows. Back in middle school everyone made up rumors about me and it made me a bit of a loner.” you explained with a shy chuckle.
“Yeah, I heard your parents went bankrupt and sold you to their old loan shark to get out of debt.” Hikaru commented nonchalantly.
“Yeah, and I heard you’re an indentured servant who has to do hard physical labor everyday after school.” Kaoru added.
Tamaki immediately turned around and scolded them, waving his arms and yelling at them to be more polite in the presence of a lady/ gentleman/ noble.
“It’s okay Tamaki, I’m used to them all by now.” you chuckled. “My parents actually passed away when I was younger and left me in the care of my grandfather.”
“Y/N-chan, do you help grow the flowers too?” Honey asked excitedly, gazing up at you with huge eyes.
“Yes, I do actually! My grandfather taught me everything he knows about gardening, and it’s something I really enjoy doing!” you responded.
“Wow. That’s cool.” Mori said flatly. Although you could tell it was sincere.
“Why haven’t you introduced us to them before, Kyoya-senpai?” Haruhi asked, turning to the vice-president.
“I didn’t mean to keep them from you, there was just never an avid opportunity. But I suppose now is a good a time as any to make the introduction.” Kyoya answered, adjusting his glasses and turning towards you. “Y/N, meet the Ouran High School Host Club.”
They each went down the line telling you their names and types, which was quite entertaining. You had heard of the club’s popularity but never gotten around to visiting them.
“I’m sorry we go through so many flowers. It must be difficult to grow so many.” Haruhi said sympathetically.
“Oh it’s no strain on the business, I actually tend to most of your club’s stock personally so that my grandfather can focus on his other sales.” you reassured her. “However, I do sometimes wish I could grow more plants. I could probably run an entire garden just for the Host Club!”
Tamaki’s eyes immediately lit up. “Y/N, that’s a marvelous idea!”
“Hm? Oh no, I was only joking…” you laughed nervously.
“Actually, that might be a useful investment.” Kyoya began, placing his fist under his chin in thought. “It would be nice to have our own garden and not have to worry about business transactions.”
“Senpai, Y/N can’t grow us an entire garden for free!” Haruhi exclaimed. You were touched that she was immediately on your side.
“Don’t be silly, we’ll pay them an adequate salary.” Kyoya told you. “And of course a small share will be given to their grandfathers business as a courtesy.”
“I want to grow lots of pink flowers!” Honey cheered, jumping up and down in excitement.
“Think of all the schemes we could pull with a whole garden of flowers at our disposal!” the twins beamed in unison, joining hands and twirling around.
“I can see it now… lush bushes of roses and hydrangeas, hanging branches of cherry blossoms and orchids, cobblestone paths lined with lillies and tulips!” Tamaki declared, striking a grand pose at the center of the room. “Get ready men, because soon the Ouran Host Club will have a brand new garden!”
You looked around at all the chaos unfolding before you. Kyoya was already typing up a budget on his computer, Mori was chasing Honey around the room as he threw handfuls of rose petals in the air, and Haruhi just stood there with her head in her hands.
“I had to make a joke, didn’t I…” you sighed to yourself.
While you were initially overwhelmed at the daunting prospect of creating an entire garden, it turned out to not be so bad. Kyoya handled most of the property scouting and landscaping with his endless business connections. You were pretty much just in charge of picking what flowers to grow and taking care of them.
And so, everyday after school, you would go to the new garden behind the building and tend to your flowers :) Your grandfather was very happy that you were making friends and spending less time at the business
Haruhi would usually come by to help you water the plants when she needed to sneak away from the chaos of the club
She loved your chill personality, and you always made her laugh and forget her stress in a second :)
You had your suspicions about her gender from the beginning, but you never really cared. You didn’t really see people as labels, just who they where on the inside. It was this mindset that actually made her comfortable enough to confide her secret in you!
Honey would sometimes come by and bring you some cakes that were leftover from the club activities, and you’d sit on a swing and eat them together <3
Sometimes he would bring Mori along, and while you were a little shy around him, you were happy to see that he was also interested in your gardening. He would often ask you what different flowers symbolized, and what kind of care certain flowers needed
The twins would come by to gather flowers for their various schemes, and would often encourage you to take a break and have some fun with them!
The three of you would run around the gardens, playing tag and hide and seek until you were all so tired you were sprawled out in the grass, panting and laughing wildly
Kaoru was happy to see Hikaru finally opening up to someone, and would sometimes try to give the two of you space to talk by yourselves
Hikaru could listen to you talk about flowers for hours and never get bored. He also liked to tuck them behind your ear, smiling at how pretty you looked <3
Tamaki always seemed to be busy tending to his numerous princesses, but every once in a while he would come by to thank you for making this all possible
And of course, he couldn’t help but flirt with you a bit :)
“All these gorgeous blossoms… and yet none of them compares to your beauty, my dear.”
You would’ve fallen for him had you not been so smart
Kyoya was probably the one you saw most often, as he was the one you knew the longest and the one who planned out most of the garden
He was always making sure you had enough equipment and starts, and discussing new arrangement ideas with you
“Are you sure it’s not too much work for you, Y/N?” he asked sincerely.
“Oh it’s not too bad, it’s not like I’m working myself to the bone.” you reassured him. “I mean yeah, it would be nice to have some help, but it would have to be from someone who understands gardening.”
“Why don’t you start a gardening club?” he proposed.
You jaw unhinged in shock. “Oh Kyoya, that’s a wonderful idea, but I don’t know the first thing about starting a club.”
“I do, and I can help you. I founded this club after all.” he smiled, adjusting his glasses.
After a few weeks of paperwork and meeting with the school board, you became the president of the Ouran High School Gardening Club :)
The guys were all so proud of you, they decided to host a ball in your honor!
You were hesitant at the idea, still a bit self conscious of all the rumors that had been spread about you in the past
But after much convincing, you agreed. The twins even got you a custom ball outfit from their mother’s fashion line!
Tamaki took his place at the foot of the staircase to greet all the guests, making your heart beat out of your chest from behind the double doors.
“Welcome princesses, princes, and nobles of Ouran Academy! Thank you so much for attending this ball in celebration of the founding of the Ouran Gardening Club! The president of this club is someone that the Host Club is very close with. In fact, if it weren’t of them, there wouldn’t be a single rose petal at any of our events. Please join me in welcoming Y/N Y/L/N!”
You then made your entrance, a light downpour of rose petals floating around you as you descended the staircase <3
You looked around to see everyone cheering for you and smiling at you admiringly. You started wondering why you ever retreated into the shadows in the first place. It was almost enough to bring a tear to your eye.
Halfway through your decent, you looked down to see all seven members of the Host Club holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers! They must have asked your grandfather what they were ;)
As you reached the bottom of the staircase, the applause ended. Then, all the guys held out their bouquets to you with warm smiles.
“Thank you for being our gardener Y/N!”

What’s in it for me?
Chapter 4/?
Chapter 1 Masterlist
Pairing: Kyouya Ootori x Reader Author: see-the-fandom-imagines   Warnings: None at all.   A/N: Let me know if you want to be tagged in the upcoming parts!
Tumblr media
You ran your hands under the stream of cold water to quickly rinse them, when a customer entered. Automatically, you lifted your head and smiled to greet them. “Welcome!”, you greeted as you were trained to, but when you looked at the customer you realized it was just - “Haruhi!” Happily you smiled and waved at your friend. “I am almost off, but I got to still clean up and wait for Taiga, he is in the back checking the stock.” Haruhi smiled as well and nodded. “No worries”, she told you and sat down at the table closest to you. This close to closing time there weren’t many customers left and it had gotten really quiet. You walked past the bar to pick up a few empty cups from Haruhi’s table to put them in the dishwasher. “So how’s it going? How was school? How was club?” Haruhi shrugged and yawned. “Don’t ask”, she said and she really looked a little exhausted. You could relate to be honest. It was exam season and with studying, helping out in the host club and working you did not get too much sleep. Haruhi was here so you could study together. “The usual. Hikaru and Kaoru resolved their argument at least, so it’s a bit quieter again. You’re back tomorrow, though aren’t you?” “Yes”, you confirmed, while starting the cleaning program of the coffee machine. “If it’s too much for you, please don’t come, it is going to be alright.” You smiled at her weakly. It was cute that she was worried. “It’s fine! We have a deal, don’t we?” And Haruhi didn’t argue with that. She knew how stubborn you could be, so she decided to let it go and you just chatted about all and sundry until you could leave. Taiga, a university student who was also working in the café part time, told you he would lock today so that you could go home a bit earlier. Thankful, you had accepted and promised him you would make it up to him and you were really happy that you could leave a few minutes early.
Still chatting, Haruhi and you walked over to your place. “How are you doing, though (y/n)?”, she asked, seeming genuinely worried about you. “You are working a lot these days.” “I am fine, really”, you said, putting on a smile, but you knew this wouldn’t be enough, so you quickly added, “I’m a bit tired, yes, but it’s nothing I cannot cope with, promise. And also it’ll all be over in a few days.” Haruhi looked straight ahead and you could see her brows furl as she replied. “I just don’t want you to overexert yourself, just to help with my debt.” You carefully put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her so she would look at you. A few passers-by walked past you a bit confused about your sudden halt, but you didn’t care. “I promise I am alright.” She didn’t seem convinced, but she nodded and smiled a little now. You kept on walking. “And also it’s not your fault. It’s that Kyouya who treats me like I am his personal mule. Can you believe him?”, you started, and you didn’t even notice how you began blabbering. “He won’t let us rest one second.” You could feel Haruhi’s gaze on you, but you just continued. “And remember what we talked about the other day? The whole thing with Renge?” “Yeah, that was really tedious”, she agreed, seemingly thinking about something. You brushed past it, you were too deep in your complaining. “It was, wasn’t it? And all just because he wanted those pictures.” You sulked for a second. “And that he has keys for everything? I mean it is kind of impressive, but still, who does that.” Haruhi nodded. “He can be very dark.” “Yeah, right? But then other days he is almost nice? And he is really smart, I got to leave him that. Without him the club probably wouldn’t work so well, but he also really doesn’t care about anyone, does he?” “Say, (y/n)…”, Haruhi tried to stop you, but you were full-blown into your rant, all the while keeping your gaze fixed on the road ahead. “And then he is always smirking to himself like he is better than us or something. It is better than his fake smile, though, I got to admit … That makes me feel way worse.” “(Y/n)”, Haruhi tried again, her voice a bit firmer, and this time you actually shut up and looked at her. “Could it be… that you like Kyouya-senpai?” That stopped you dead in your tracks. You opened your mouth to reply something, but her saying these words had gotten you by surprise. You closed your mouth again and looked at your friend, who hadn’t stopped walking as suddenly as you and thus was standing a little bit ahead of you. “For days you have been talking about him”, Haruhi continued, “and I have known you for quite a while. Remember how it was with Arai in Middle School?” Your heart skipped a beat at the memory. “No”, you said firmly, looking at the ground again. “Of course, I don’t like him. Arai was different. He was actually nice, Kyouya is just …” “Alright, alright”, Haruhi sighed, lifting her hands to get you to stop talking. She had known you for long enough to know that you were stubborn as hell with these things. “I mean”, you began again, picking a little dirt from your nails that you had suddenly realised was there, “why would I even like him.” Haruhi shrugged. “That I don’t know either." You looked at each other and you both burst out laughing. It felt good to talk to her about these things. You did see each other more regularly thanks to the club, but you barely had time to actually hang out. “Let’s go, we still need to study”, you said and Haruhi nodded. Together you walked on to your place, but you barely listened to what she was saying. You knew that Haruhi was strangely insightful in-between, but she was surely wrong about this. There was no other way. Still, the thought didn’t leave you alone until you finally reached your place.
“I am back”, you yelled into the living area, not sure whether or not you would get a reply. “Welcome home!”, your aunt's voice greeted you. Sometimes she would work late, being a nurse and all, but today she already seemed to be home. Haruhi and you walked through the small entrance into the living room and kitchen area where your aunt Miwako was already cooking. “I started to make dinner, I hope you are hungry!” “Starving”, you said and Haruhi bowed slightly. “Hi Ms (L/n).” “Oh, Haruhi! Nice to see you! Are you staying for dinner?” “Oh, I don’t –“ “Yes, Miwako”, you smiled at Haruhi. She had told you Ranka was working late tonight and you knew her enough to know that she just did not want to bother your aunt. “How nice! I’ll make a little extra you can bring your father when you get home.” That woman really thought of everything. Haruhi smiled slightly and bowed again. “Thank you, that is really kind.” “Of course, Haruhi! At this point you are like a second child to me. Ranka-san took care of (y/n) so often, I am happy to return the favour.” “We wanted to study a bit”, you said, making your way towards your room. “Is it okay, if we go into my room until dinner?” “But of course! You go study and I will call you when dinner is ready!” “Thank you”, the both of you said simultaneously, before vanishing into your room so that Haruhi could finally explain that icky math problem to you, you just didn’t seem to understand.
After another hour of studying your aunt had called you for dinner and now the three of you sat at a table filled with different small dishes and a bowl of rice and miso soup for everyone. “It is not a lot, but I hope you will like it.” “Enjoy!”, everybody wished, and you began to dig in. After a day full of school and work you had gotten really hungry, you realized. “So, Haruhi”, your aunt tried to make light conversation. “You are going to that fancy school for a while now, right? How is it going?” “Oh, uhm …”, Haruhi shot you a side glance. You hadn’t told Miwako that you were helping out in the host club and she knew that. “Quite well actually. I was able to keep my grades steady so far and I am learning a lot.” “That’s amazing. How about friends? Found some new people?” Haruhi smiled into her bowl of rice and nodded. “Yeah, I think I did.” You smiled, too. It was nice seeing her this happy thinking about the host club as her friends. Now that you thought about it, you also considered them your friends. Most of them at least. “You know, (y/n) was just telling me the other day …” She was interrupted by her phone ringing. She stopped her chopsticks mid-air, seemingly considering whether or not she should pick up her phone. She quickly checked the number, and you noticed her clenching her jaw and her expression darken. The ringing stopped. You watched her carefully, but she took a deep breath, before putting the phone away and putting on a smile again. “So, as I was saying …” The phone began again. Her face fell. “You can pick up, maybe it’s important”, you said, but you avoided her gaze. “I know who… It’s …” She sighed frustrated, but still got up, her phone in hand. “I’ll be right back.” As she vanished into the next room you could only hear her yell: “I told you to stop calling me!”
You put your chopsticks down as well, staring into your bowl of rice. You didn’t know for sure, but you had an idea about who kept calling her and you felt weirdly responsible for it. Haruhi noticed that something was wrong. “Who was that?”, she asked, her eyes flicking between the door Miwako had vanished through and you. “Are you okay?” “Yes, yes, of course”, you smiled weakly, knowing she wouldn’t fall for it, so you just kept talking. “I am not entirely sure who keeps calling her, she won’t tell me. But the other day I heard my name, so I listened in a few times and she was talking about some kind of money …” “Oh.” Haruhi understood immediately. It was silent for a while, before she turned to look at you. “(Y/n), none of this is your fault, you know that, right?” You looked at her as well, into her honest, but stern face and for a second you actually believed her. “I know.”
-----
“I told you to stop calling me! For the last time, you’ll get neither her nor the money!” Kyouya checked his phone display. For a split second he wasn’t sure if he had called the right number, but then he found his voice again. “Ms. Miwako (L/n)?” An awkward short pause before she spoke, this time with a calmer voice, yet, she still sounded suspicious. “Yes?” “It is nice to finally talk to you. My name is Kyouya Ootori and I am the director of the club (y/n) is attending at Ouran High School.” Another short pause. “What?” He waited for a brief second to see if she was about to say anything else, but as she didn’t reply, he simply kept on talking, although this talk already wasn’t really going the way he had expected. “At the local Private Ouran High School. Your daughter is taking part in our club, together with Haruhi, who I think you know as well?” It was still silent at the other end. Kyouya dared to suspect, “I guess, your niece didn’t tell you about it?” No answer. He checked his display again to see if the call had disconnected, but it was still going. “Hello?” “I’m still here, sorry. Yes, no, she really didn’t tell me about it! I was just surprised.” He heard her exhale deeply and Kyouya wondered if calling her had been a good idea. Suddenly she seemed to realize what was happening. “So, my niece is part of your club. At Ouran High School. And you are the director. And I just yelled at you?!” She yelled again. Kyouya held the phone a little away from his ear. “I am so sorry! But, uhm, how come… how …?” Kyouya considered for a moment how much he would tell her. If (y/n) hadn’t told her aunt anything about the club, then maybe it was best to stay vague. He already knew that she would be furious at him in the morning. Her aunt didn’t seem like the type who could keep this call secret. “She is honourably helping out at our club three times a week, which of course can only be beneficial for her later education. I am a student at Ouran High School, just like Haruhi, and I am calling to inform you that we are taking good care of your niece and that you can always call this number in case you have any questions. We will also inform you about all major events.” “I wonder when she finds the time for that”, she whispered, more to herself than to him. “And why is a student calling me?” He had just opened his mouth to reply, when she asked a question, he hadn’t expected. “When you say ‘take good care of her’, you don’t mean anything sketchy right? What kind of club is this even?” The suspicion was back in her voice. He cleared his voice, this was certainly not the direction in which he had thought this talk would develop. “Of course not. I am a year above her and we are taking part the same after school club and since you have entrusted her in our care, I, as the managing director, simply wanted to contact you.” He ignored her latter question, hoping she would let it go. She already did not seem to fond of him, and he had apparently told her too much already, the rest would be on (y/n) to explain. If she already was suspicious of him, mentioning that it was a Host club probably wasn’t the best idea and he certainly did not feel like having that discussion. “Uh-huh”, she did not seem convinced. There was something in her voice he couldn’t quite interpret. Again she asked something he did not expect. Ranka had not been as thorough. “Does my niece know that you are calling me?” “I … No.” He admitted. “You got to know her a little by now?” “Yes, ma’am.” “You know she is going to be furious with you.” “Yes, ma’am.” There was a small silence, before she spoke up again. “I will be looking forward to those updates.” “Certainly”, he said, ready to end the call, but she wasn’t quite done yet. “She is a really stubborn girl. But very diligent.” He let her speak. “She feels guilty about what happened with her parents …” Again, she seemed to talk more to herself than to him, but he made a mental note, nonetheless. He actually couldn’t find a lot of information about them. “Sometimes she works a little too hard. But I see how attending a club at your school can only be beneficial for her." She seemed to think about something. "When you say you will be taking care of her… is this a promise?” Kyouya faltered. A promise? On a professional level of course. But her voice suggested more than that, and he thought about (y/n). About their talks, about her ways to try to help wherever she could. The challenging smirks, the exasperated gasps, but also the happy smile when she was interacting with the other hosts. Although she couldn’t see it, he nodded slightly. “It is.”
----
“Morning”, you greeted your aunt, still drowsy with sleep, and let yourself fall onto your chair at the breakfast table. Your aunt didn’t reply, but instead was staring at you intently. You raised an eyebrow, beginning to slowly wake up. “Is everything alright?” She still didn’t speak, but instead maintained eye contact while she bit off a piece of toast. “Miwako? You are scaring me a bit.” She swallowed. “Good.” Oh-oh. “Did something happen?” She leaned on the table, still not breaking eye contact. “You tell me.” Confused you blinked, trying to fight the tiredness. You had only slept for about four hours this night the rest was lost in your studies. Her staring began to make you uncomfortable. “Tell you what?” As you didn’t say anymore, she spoke up, all the while still staring at you. Did that woman ever have to blink? “Oh, I don’t know.” Her tone was calm, but sarcastic. “What you had for lunch yesterday? Or which exam you have to write tomorrow …”  She paused, before dragging out the next words. “What you are doing after school today?” You sighed, dropping your head. “How did you find out?” “Ha!”, she shouted, “So you admit it!” “What do you mean admit, I never lied.” “You just didn’t tell me!” She pouted. “Why didn’t you tell me?” “I didn’t want you to worry”, you finally admitted and you saw her expression change. “(Y/n)”, she said and began to look at you again. “I am your aunt. It is my job to worry about you, alright?” You nodded slowly, but you still felt kind of bad. “You participating in a club in Ouran High School, that is amazing. If you get a certificate from them it is going to be worth so much later on.” You smiled weakly, but it dropped as quickly as it had formed. “However.” Oh-oh. “You cannot lie to me anymore, alright? I need to know where you are, did you understand me?” Her tone had gotten really serious now. “Especially now since…” She trailed off and sighed, but still looked at you, now a bit softer. “Can you promise that?” You nodded. “Yes, Miwako. Sorry for worrying you.” “It’s alright.” She smiled again. “It is great news. And I am glad that boy called me.” Immediately, your smile vanished. “Which boy?” You already knew before she opened her mouth. “Oh, wait, what was his name? Okawa? Otaki?” “Ootori?” “Yes, that’s it! I can’t believe it, in the club for a few weeks and you already got a boyfriend.” “He is not my boyfriend!” “Of course not”, she smiled as if she didn’t believe a word you said. “So, is he handsome? And what kind of club is it anyways, are you hiding a secret talent from me that they took you in?” “Sorry, gotta go!”, you said quickly, grabbing a piece of toast and running out of the room. You knew you wouldn’t be able to fully ignore these questions, but as long as you could run away from her inquiry, you’d try. And if Kyouya had to be the one explaining to her, all the better for you. He definitely would deserve that.

OHSHC Members as Different People at a Big Family Dinner
Holiday times are here, as are family get-togethers. Each member is unique and can fill many “rolls”, but these are the cousins at your family get togethers that I envision the Host Club members to be.
Tamaki - The Family Disappointment™. The reason the table breaks out into a yelling argument before the turkey is cold. He’s the cousin everyone thinks is gay, and then is shocked when he brings home Haruhi, and not just because she’s a commoner. He’s very popular with all the little kids, and they always defend him on the ride home when the parents are talking shit.
Kyoya - The Single Rich Aunt/Uncle who jets all around the world, casually name drops the famous and wealthy (even more so than who the Ootori family normally associates with), and is Very Much Against Having Children. That being said, I could see him doting on his nieces and nephews, giving them the best gifts, and paying particular attention to the youngest members of the family.
Haruhi - Haruhi is the cousin that the kids are vaguely indifferent too, but when they find out she is the Only Reason why there are desserts and food that actually tastes good and has any amount of flavoring, they all latch on to her, asking if they can help with the extra baking and cooking. They play music while making the food, and Haruhi asks them about school and life. The cousins quickly discover they are revealing all of their secrets, and that while at first they were indifferent to Haruhi, she actually has her shit together and is a comforting presence in the chaos of family.
Hikaru - The Prankster. Hikaru pranks the ever loving shit out of everyone, and even though everyone knows that it’s him doing the pranks, they never catch him in the act or have solid proof. His pranks range from harmless whoopee cushions to an incident with a range rover and fireworks. Allegedly. It is never dull when he’s around, and he’s the one your parents talk shit about on the car ride home.
Kaoru - The Partner in Crime. He’s either helping Hikaru get away with pranks, or he’ll do you a solid and sneak you a beer or distract your parents so you can call your “special friend” and have it not be a big deal. He’s a cousin you can depend on for anything. He is sneaky, but he also just wants everyone to have a good time. Kaoru knows family can be stressful, so what’s bending a few rules so everyone can make it out of the family gathering alive?
Mori - The Cool Cousin. You know nothing about him, but you want to. His natural quietness makes him seem a bit bored at family get-togethers, but in reality, he’s probably just feeling super awkward.
Honey - The Cousin that Lowkey Bullies Everyone. He’s the cousin that could kill a man (his brother), and all the aunts and uncles would still defend him and gush over how cute and well mannered he is. As long as the cousins give up their treats, they’re safe, but if you try to keep the snack that you snuck away? You’re going to learn first hand why the US and Japan have had diplomatic relations since Honey arrived on the scene.

Stray Kids as Ouran High School Host Club
OT8
Masterlist
wc: 2.4k
warnings: none
I hate that I love this show, no one look at me :o
-
CHAN AS KASANODA RITSU
Tumblr media
Now, it was hard to choose another character to use since there’s only 7 main characters and 8 of skz, but the appearance Ritsu had in ep. 22 and 23 did a real number on me. Ritsu is the next leader in line for one of the most powerful yakuza clans, so he was raised to be independent from a young age. Sometimes he just wants to act his age, kinda like Channie he's five. They’re both just always wanting to be a better version of themselves, which is why Ritsu wanted to join the host club in the first place. He takes in “strays” and shelters them within his clan, which if that doesn’t convince you that Chan and Ritsu are one in the same idk what will. There was also the bit where Ritsu meets Haruhi for the first time and develops a little crush on her while he still assumes she’s a boy, then later walks in on her changing on accident and is still attracted to her. I remember Chan mentioning something about feeling like he was intimidating to approach, same as Ritsu who people assume to be scary but really they’re just big softies. They both just want some love! When everyone finds out how sweet they are, it’s hard not to fall for them. Ritsu doesn’t end up staying in the host club to lead his clan, but Chan would make a great host considering how flirty he is. I can imagine it going something like this…
Having some tea, “you like my dimples? Feel!” He takes your hand and leads it to his cheek, except he doesn’t let go even after you poke him. Instead, he guides you to cup his cheek and lean into it, smiling sweeter without looking away from your eyes. “Your touch is so gentle, isn’t this nice?” The skinship is what makes you keep coming back and requesting Chan every time.
MINHO AS MORINOZUKA TAKASHI
Tumblr media
Okay, I was really struggling to choose who suited Minho the best (Kyoya was a strong competitor). But Mori just made so much sense the more I thought about it. They’re both seen as the silent types, brooding and mysterious– which is all true. Though, they’re both the kind of people you have to get to know slowly and sort of sneakily, if they find out you’re trying to truly understand them, they’ll run away! But not because they’re unsure, more like they’re afraid of voicing their real emotions out of fear you won’t want to stay after they reveal more of themselves. They’re both observant and let people come to them. Mori and Minho are wildcards when you finally peel away all their protective layers, one day they’ll barely speak two words and the next they won’t leave you alone. Mori is also extremely protective of those he loves, take Honey for example. Minho is the same, loving quietly but when you realize that’s what his small acts of service are, it’s like he’s carrying a permanent banner above his head written in bold letters saying, “I care about you! (maybe too much…)” You’ll never doubt their feelings.
“Oh, you have something right–” he reaches across the table and thumbs across your lips, wiping away some stray frosting, “here.” You watch with your mouth slightly dropped as he brings the same thumb to his mouth and licks the frosting away. You’re a blushing mess while it seems Minho hadn’t given it a second thought. Except, he was jumping up and down on the inside, afterall, he isn’t touchy with everyone and you happen to be his favorite customer. Something about how you bring treats for his cats ever since he briefly mentioned them a while back.
CHANGBIN AS HITACHIIN KAORU
Tumblr media
As we all know, Changbin is nothing short of a gentleman. But he is also very playful and loud. When it’s needed, Changbin can be super serious or not have a single care in the world. Kaoru is the younger of the Hitachiin twins but is clearly the more mature one (i.e. the Hikaru-crushing-on-Haruhi arch). When the Hitachiin twins are together, they’re absolute menaces that can only be calmed either by Haruhi or someone even more annoying Tamaki. Changbin has voiced that he has very big feelings, but proves that he can control them. He isn’t afraid of those feelings and utilizes them in his creative process. Much like Kaoru, Changbin doesn’t let his emotions blind him side eyeing hikaru x haruhi again. Even though both twins have romantic feelings for Haruhi, Kaoru doesn’t act on them much out of love and respect for his brother. Changbin as Kaoru just makes so much sense to me, even though I really did consider putting Mori just for the sake of muscles and Mori’s 6’4 ass. Changbin doesn’t seem to need very many friends, but the ones he does have he knows are some incredibly good ones. He sees the good in people and will do anything for them if they can see the good in him as well.
On a walk with him and you come across a large mud puddle, “oh, let me carry you! Can’t have your pretty shoes getting dirty.” He lifts you easily and steps around the puddle as carefully as he could. Changbin doesn’t stop walking, escorting you all the way back with you in his arms. “You’re so cute, I wouldn’t mind holding you like this whenever you wanted. I mean, as long as you wouldn’t mind having lunch with me when we’re done.”
HYUNJIN AS SUOH TAMAKI
Tumblr media
They’re both princes, what can I say? I have no self restraint. Tamaki is dramatic in every sense of the word and lies more on the irrationally emotional side, especially with Haruhi. Though, that is because Tamaki is also another one with big, big feelings and he has trouble managing them sometimes. Sort of the same with Hyunjin, they’ve both found outlets for their big emotions. Hyunjin has his art and dance, to which he pours his soul into. When required of them, both Tamaki and Hyunjin leave no room for error. The happiness of others is what both of them thrive off of. They try to stay optimistic and see the beauty in everyone, which is only a small portion of what makes them attract attention like moths to a flame. Both of them can lean a bit on the obsessive when it comes to the things they want to excel at or when they want someone’s attention. Tamaki has a few hidden talents, such as playing the piano. With Hyunjin, it’s his art. It stuns everyone upon finding out they’re much deeper than just a pretty face, only making you love them even more. Tamaki’s attachment to Haruhi stems from the fact that she didn’t just see his looks or money, but rather he himself. Tamaki can be painfully oblivious at times and needs it to be right in front of his face in order to understand, but that’s okay because like Hyunjin, once he gets it, he really gets it.
Hyunjin has his art supplies the next time you’re scheduled to meet. “I want to draw you, if that’s okay. I’ve wanted to for a while, actually.” You don’t mind the silence as he concentrates on his sketchbook, looking up at you every few moments with a particularly tightly wound-up expression that indicates how hard he’s focusing. He doesn’t take long, not wanting you to get bored. But when you tell him you don’t mind, Hyunjin lets the biggest smile spread across his lips. “How did you know quality time is one of my love languages?” The following meeting, he gifts you the drawing which is now painted with a beautiful assortment of water colors.
JISUNG AS HITACHIIN HIKARU
Tumblr media
Jisung feels things very, very deeply– which isn’t a secret, just look at this man’s extensive discography. Like Hikaru, they’re playful and like to have a good time, always wanting to make people smile. But also, Hikaru has immense trouble voicing his feelings in a way that makes sense, usually coming out as a burst of pent up anger because he can’t articulate it the way he wants. Hikaru and Kaoru are usually up to no good, which is why Jisung and Changbin as the twins makes perfect sense– the Hitachiin twins aren’t pockets of sunshine together like Jisung and Felix, but rather raging balls of chaos that leaves not a lot, but just enough damage to make you weary and side eye them from across the room. Jisung is also very loyal, though introverted. Hikaru is the same way, unless approached first, you won’t catch him looking your way. Hikaru is deeply bonded to all the other hosts in different ways, like Jisung is to his members. They’re both silly and smiley and love a good laugh, but they need that extra reassurance that what they feel is valid, no matter how big or small.
“You loop it, then make some bunny ears–” “I know how to tie my shoes, Jisung,” you giggle, patting his hair as he looks up from his kneeling position in front of you. “If you knew, I wouldn’t be down here doing it for you, would I?” He laughs back, resuming his mission of teaching you to lace up your shoes. When he finishes, Jisung stands tall before you and pets the top of your head the same way you did to him. You thank him and he smiles big and bright, “can’t have you falling for anyone but me, right?”
FELIX AS MITSUKUNI "HONEY" HANINOZUKA
Tumblr media
Everyone knew this was coming, c’mon now. They’re both cute, love sweets, and both martial artists. If I didn’t know better, I’d say the creator based Honey off of Felix because they’re one in the same. Honey’s personality is big, there’s a lot of sides to him you wouldn’t see because he doesn’t like anyone viewing him as anything but happy, much like Felix, they don't want anyone to worry about them. Despite their child-like natures, Felix and Honey are very observative and can read people rather well. They hate seeing their friends upset and go to great lengths to cheer them up, even if only a little. Do I dare mention their attachment to plushies? Usa-chan and Dwaekki would be besties, not to mention they’re both pink bunnies. Honey is someone who just seems like he needs to be protected, queue Mori. Felix is always being babied by the members, even if he doesn’t do the same back to them. Honey explains that Tamaki and the host club is the reason he’s able to be himself, much like Felix and his members. Their endless support encourages Felix to be nothing but himself, everyone is head over heels for him and can’t do anything but take care of him.
“We should have some cake! This one tastes really good with the tea,” Felix all but shoves his own cup of tea towards you and finds the best looking slice. He only grabs one fork, insisting on feeding you. As you chew, his eyes are staring at you widely, awaiting your reaction. You tell him it’s delicious and that he’s right, the tea and cake are a great combination. Felix gently rubs the underside of your chin like a cat and feeds you another piece, “I knew you’d like it. It’s sweet, like you!”
SEUNGMIN AS OOTORI KYOYA
Tumblr media
Do I even need to explain this one? Kyoya is the cold, detached type of host but everyone knows it’s just a front in order to avoid emotional confrontation. Seungmin is blunt and straightforward, but like Kyoya, it’s charming. Never rude, but rather classy in the way they approach topics. Kyoya is logical, never forgetting to remind the hosts of their duties while also accomplishing his own. Seungmin is like Kyoya in the sense that their first priority is honing their abilities and applying them wherever needed. Kyoya is also the single holder of the brain cell in his and Tamaki’s friendship, Tamaki idolizes him for him ability to stay cool in the most stressful of situations. Much like Seungmin’s relationship with Hyunjin, Seungmin just breathes and Hyunjin is on the floor laughing (who can blame him, mans is a comedian).
You asked Seungmin to help you with your math homework, which was a mistake. It had only been forty five minutes and you were already regretting letting homework take up your time with him. He’d been doing his best to help you, but you just weren’t getting it. “C’mon, I know you know this. You’ve got such a big brain in that pretty head of yours, you just gotta use it.” Backhanded, but nevertheless a rare compliment that made you blush and put the homework aside all together.
JEONGIN AS FUJIOKA HARUHI
Tumblr media
Okay listen, lisTEN, LISTEN! Jeongin is just the main character, alright? The world does in fact revolve around him. To the host club, Haruhi is their favorite girl, even if she doesn’t act like the ones they’re used to. But that only makes them love her even more. Jeongin doesn’t necessarily care about others opinions, he just needs to exist and all the members fawn over him. Leave it to Jeongin to do the bare minimum and have every single one of them giggling and kicking their feet. With Haruhi, she has the mannerisms of a warmer Kyoya. As a host, she isn’t cold but she isn’t overbearing. Jeongin is the same, he gives just enough to make you want more. He understands both the male and female gaze, making Jeongin just that more attractive. He’s the youngest, but has the mindset that could easily be mistaken as older because he has such high expectations for himself. Jeongin and Haruhi both expect greatness from themselves, Haruhi in her studies and Jeongin with his singing. Depending on who they’re interacting with, Jeongin and Haruhi’s personalities may shift a little. When he’s with Seungmin, Jisung, or Felix, Jeongin has someone to tease and bicker with since they’re closer in age. The older members minus Chan sometimes tend to let him act younger and enjoy the small bit of babying. Jeongin is the epitome of main character.
Spending time outdoors during the spring was a necessity, asking Jeongin to accompany you for a stroll through the gardens. Walking shoulder to shoulder, he loved talking about the latest fashion trends from all over the world. “Windbreakers will be making a comeback, I’m telling you!” The breeze picked up and made you shiver. “Told you you would get cold. Here,” Jeongin began taking off his cardigan, “keep it for the weekend. Maybe when you give it back, it’ll smell like you when I get to wear it again.”
