It’s ironic that Catnap was the one to burn at the end of the game.

As heretics are supposed to be the ones that burn. They’re the ones that are supposed to pay for the sin of heresy.

Instead Catnap puts Dogday in a position where it looks like he is being crucified.

And why are Dogdays legs torn off? Sure it can be a form of punishment- but is there any real significance? Any symbolism- any connection?

Is it just to give Dogday a slow death? Like what Crucifixion is meant to be as a punishment?

Anyways- just a random thought I had.

Oh, and while I'm ranting about Lane, so much of the discussion on what her life should have looked like centers around her two main love interests. Look, I get it, it's a rom com. However, a lot of fans seem to view Lane as merely an extension of Dave, who they pretty much worship. If only she would have stayed with Dave, the band would have become massive rock stars, her contraception never would have failed, and he would have never, ever developed a flaw at any point and her life would have been perfect. I'm sorry, but how is this relatively tame teenage boy going to accomplish all of that single-handedly? It doesn't sound realistic to me.

The show could have kept Lane single, it could have had her date someone outside the band, it could have explored her going to college, it could have had her stay broken up with Zach, it could have had explore other musical options besides the band, it could have had her stay in the band and have them move to a major city or go on tour at the end of the show, it could have done those latter options and just forgone the pregnancy, it could have still kept the pregnancy and let the family/band move out of SH at the end of the show, Lane and/or Zach could have moved somewhere with a residency or become session musicians or work at a record label, Mama Kim could have gone on tour with all of them and start a new version of the Partridge Family....look, there are lots of options, both with and without Zach, both with and without babies. Literally none of them involve Dave. Lane's fate should not be tied to him as her savior. He could not single-handedly give her a different fate.

I am partial to the Mama Kim Partridge Family plan, though. Just send them all on the road and see what happens.

Major Bayonetta 3 spoiler below!!!!

So, I just finished the game. I'll say the battle with the end boss was decent compared to the bullshit that was Aesir in 2 BUT (always a but)—remember when Bayo 1 did the 3 fake-outs for the final boss? Yeah, well, Bayonetta 3 reached for the sky and managed to find the center of the earth. I think the final boss had like 7 fucking health bars, and for a vast majority of them we got fake-outs. Also, if you're curious about what the antagonist's motivation was, get ready for disappointment because I guess the writers used up all their creative juices on shit jokes (I laughed 1 entire time throughout this entire thing, when Jeanne said "You bitch!"—if you know you know) and the groundbreaking idea that (poorly written, hamfisted) love is stronger than whatever the fuck.

But there was one aspect of the ending that I hated the most. This is a MAJOR SPOILER so please stop reading if you want to experience this "brilliant" storyline. The game forces you to play as Viola and kill Bayonetta (or her ghost, or her negativity, or some other bullshit that's not ever explained properly), and thus, Viola is now Bayonetta. Yep. And the last text that appears after the credits—A NEW FUCKING GENERATION. Say goodbye to Bayonetta babes. She's dead. Jeanne is dead. And FINALLY platinum gave us what we REALLY wanted: Luka and Viola. This more than anything felt like a genuine slap in the face. I don't know if it's just me overreacting bc I'm tired but this is the literal worst thing they could have forced in, even beyond the ham-fisted Bayonetta & Luka twu love bullshit. It's almost poetic. The game that killed all depth of character the previous games had built also literally killed the actual fucking character. I'm sure the Viola stans (all 3 of them) will be fucking THRILLED.

Also, spoiler again, it is pretty much confirmed that Bayonetta 3 Cereza is little Cereza from Bayo 1. Which, umm, makes the Luka romance subplot kinda fucked up?? He even refers to her as Cerezita, aka the pet name he gave her as a CHILD. I dunno man, everything is fucked. I think that if I could, I'd genuinely refund the game at this point.

Look call me stupid for using discord for my AO3 images if you want but I'm genuinely kind of tired fighting for my life trying to keep my story and my site in working order. Like it's something new every month or so, from Google Domains selling to squarespace or discord turning off permanent image links or Twitter going ham with AI.

Feels like even after I fix all this crap if I were to die the next day my stuff would only survive a month before some company or another fucks everything up again. Everything on the internet is simultaneously permanent and extremely volatile.

Wow today got worse. Notice how I did not say "how could the day get worse" in my last post because with the sink broken i was trying with every fiber of my being... to not even think about the landlord. Or the fact that we're all useless and the house is even shittier than usual and- no, don't even think about the fact we're due for a house inspection, we're too sick, that would do absolutely no good--

We have been notified of our inspection date.

The family has wisely chosen not to tell me when that is exactly. I'm not asking. If my sister is sure we're not doomed, I'll let her control the pace. She'll be doing most of the managing and staging anyway...

My sister came in and explained how okay and manageable the situation is. And that no one was allowed to panic for at least 72 hours.

So I'm trying really hard not to think about it too deeply because once I get on a spiral it'll be bad. Mostly for my sister because of that whole "need to fix it" response.

Also the last few times I've had that sort of stress, I ended up in the ER for super high blood sugar. I'm already sick, I'm sure it's not doing good in the first place. I don't really want to check it.. but I guess the responsible thing would be to monitor it. 🙄

I dont know what to eat tonight because we ordered low-energy groceries. Which involved a lot of pizza, cereal, fruit..

I got some seasoned veggies for meals but the bag I had today? Didn't even fill a paper bowl. Which means I'm hungry. 😂 my other bag of veggies has potatoes; which unfortunately, it appears I'm one of those people who's bloodsugar spikes pretty bad with potatoes. So I dont have any good options...

Normally I'd say fuck it and eat a can of spaghetti os but that is also carbs. So I'm feeling a bit fucked. 😐

I really hate this particular Monday.

....one bit of good news is my aunt has declared she and the uncle are safe from covid. We didnt disease them. (Despite the nephew being in her face) So at least there's that. 🙆 Gives me hope we didn't disease anyone by being out Friday. If the aunt can sit in a car full of our breathing and not get sick I dont think we passed any germs. We even sent her home with tests. 👀

Fav viktor rare pair (league of legends)

Tf and graves both travel to the Piltover/Zaun region, they have been there before graves was even in prison there, the chance on them hearing stuff about the machine herald is High! They’d probably know he is, and they’d know he’s a criminal like them. Me and my friends thought it’d be funny if the way they met was through them trying to rob viktor after hearing a rumour hims some big mighty crime boss to only find out he’d basically a broke doctor 99% of the time.

I think the reason I like it so much is because it isn’t like Jayce x viktor where it’s a “I can fix you” “I can make you worse” situation, where they both don’t work as they aren’t made for each other in the way they absolutely have different morals, and kind of different wants. Meanwhile graves x Tf x viktor is “I love you the way you are, I’m not ever going to try and fix you”, they are all criminals, they have all killed people, and honestly having flawed criminal men date each other while loving each other for who they are without trying to change it is so…everything!

And we all know no matter how many times viktor says he doesn’t have emotions anymore he still 100% does, like the way he reacts to people in runeterra specially shows that, so he could love graves and Tf, and he’d probably love them because they’d be fine with doing nasty things for him, like killing off humans, stealing things, etc etc, and graves and Tf would love viktor as he gives them those things to do. And honestly egging each other on other evil things in the best way ):)

And I don’t think viktor would mind giving them shelter in Zaun, feeding them, etc etc, because he’s shown he would do that in his short story with naph ):)

And even if it takes a while for viktor to want to do that, graves and Tf are so patient let’s be honest here, their relationship (graves and tfs only) is literally based off of patients really 😭 these two old dudes have been through a lot together and had to have patients for each other at times, so they are most definitely fine it’s waiting for viktor to warm up properly.

Every time I go farther up the chain of adaptation for Nightmare Alley I end up deeply disappointed in whatever film adaptation I've seen just before.

Nightmare Alley is the story of a possible sociopath learning mentalism and using it to way up the social ladder until he reaches too high by pushing the wrong people too far.

First came 2021 film: Great visuals, Good actors, okay writing. About half an hour too long in my opinion. themes of manipulating with Christianity, what drives people to drink or not drink, how psychology can be used for good or for ill, how parents fuck up their kids. Not quite as indepth as I wanted but yeah overall not bad

Second: 1947 film: 40 minutes shorter! Characters more compelling, plot more dynamic but cinematography a little lacking. Overall I enjoyed it way more. They nixed the parental themes but all the other themes are stronger for it. Has a slightly happier ending than it should've but I suspect Haze coad shenanigans.

Third: Wikipedia summary of the novel hits harder than either movie!!

fourth: Book review coming soon (probably on my second blog) but OH MY GOD I AM PISSED THAT THE 2021 VERSION IS BASICLY JUST THE '47 VERSION plus some random "edgy" additions that kinda prove no one read the book because the stuff they add makes Stan seem like a way better person than he is in the book. and that's definitely not the right vibe for this story

they lied to me. like... i wanted a calmer job because my health crumbled because of the last one. and yes, it is calmer, but like... it is still too stressful and like i just don't like feeling used. they actually presented this job as something substantialy different to what it is. and if they think i'll just take it.. like no, this isn't what i wanted. i've decided to take my time to find a job i'd actually like, cause i'm still young and have time. and they presented this as like a tolerable option, i always knew it wasn't ideally what i was looking... but in reality if i had known what the job actually entailed i would not have accepted it..

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.

I fell kind of angry at myself. I've been forcing myself to conform to what is considered 'normal' for way too long, and that almost killed off the part of me that is truly me. I am still hesitant to let myself be fully free of cringe over myself, but at least I am allowing myself to slowly heal.
