hi idk if you’ve done this but can you write an angry sex fic with a&a? like they’ve been mad at teach other over something and they just take the anger out on each other or something like that? ty and have a lovely day :)

Oooooh Nony 😮‍💨 I'm not sure we've ever explored this aspect between them before. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

We've certainly gone through scenarios where Addi's being a brat and Alex has had enough of the brattiness and puts her in line. But this isn't even that scenario. This is I'm mad at you, you're annoying me or pissing me off. Almost like a "fuck me like you hate me" scenario... even though they obviously don't hate each other.

Maybe it's something that started off as small and stupid... like Alex had been foregoing using the dishwasher or laundry hamper. Dishes were piling up in the sink because Addi's silently putting her foot down, and she refused to do laundry for clothes that weren't in the hamper so he's quickly running out of clean things to wear. By the point she realizes this is becoming a habit, she'd already been stewing about it for a few days. On the night of the outburst, she physically watches Alex stack his plate in the sink and because of how full it is, he's having to wiggle things around to tetris another thing in there. But even that doesn't stir him into thinking hm, maybe I should do these.

At first Addi doesn't say anything. She wants to give him ample opportunity to take action, but as soon as he turns on his heels and starts heading back in the direction of his office, she knows she can't take it any longer.

"Are you fucking kidding me?! You don't do dishes now? That's what I'm for?!"

Alex pauses and looks at her, then at the sink, and back at her. "I'll do them later. I have to do some work,"

"When is 'later' because those have been sitting there for four days,"

He takes a few steps toward her, a small smile creeping across his face. "Alright, slugger,"

"I mean it, Alex. I'm not your dutiful housewife that's going to follow you around, cleaning up after you."

Alex smirked and reached for Addi's wrist but she pulled it away at the last moment. And the look she saw in his eyes made it known that he was getting some pleasure out of this.

With his hold on her momentarily thwarted, he lunged forward a little more and grabbed a fistful of her hair close to the scalp. He tugged back with just enough force to bring her head backwards while he simultaneously pushed her into his body. "You may not be a dutiful housewife, but you certainly behave like an obedient, little girl,"

She pushed on his chest, trying to create some space between them, but Alex was always going to be a lot stronger than her, and kept her close enough that she could feel the throbbing in his pants. "Stop, I'm pissed off at you,"

"Yeah?" He cocked his head to the side, "show me."

Though she was still angry, there was also the undeniable feeling that the best way to get her anger out would be to get fucked three ways to Sunday but she didn't want to give him that satisfaction so easily. So she wrestled, and wriggled, and tried to free herself from his grip, but the thrashing about only made him hold on tighter and chuckle.

"That's not the way. Someone's going to have to teach you some manners,"

"Fuck you," she spat. Because fuck him, but also, fuck him.

Before she knew it, she was being pushed to her knees. With one hand still tangled in her hair, Alex held her in place with her cheek pressed against his thigh as he used his other hand to unbuckle his belt and push his pants and underwear down to his knees.

"Do you want to try that again?" He smiled, gripping onto the base of his length. He dragged the head over her lips and tapped them to see if he could get them to open.

But Addi shook her head, "fuck. You."

And perhaps like she knew he would, Alex used the opportunity of her being sassy to force his length into her mouth. He went as far as her mouth would allow on the first thrust forward and only stopped because she choked and pressed her hands on his hips.

"If you're so angry, show me. Fuck me like you hate me,"

Addi furrowed her eyebrows and dug her fingernails into Alex's skin. Her fervor to take him back into her mouth only made him chuckle. He thrust his hips forward and pressed on the back of her head until he was satisfied that her own actions were significant enough.

"There ya go. I knew we could put this mouth to better use,"

But Addi had an ace up her sleeve. She dragged her tongue along the underside of his shaft and removed him from her mouth just long enough to angle her head to the side. She stroked him quickly and gently sucked one of his balls into her mouth, keeping her eyes locked on his face for his expression when she rolled her tongue over it. And then did the same to the other.

Alex gave a breathless smile, his jaw hung slack. He rocked his head backward, his eyes closed, and wholly focused on the pleasure she was giving him. And just like she knew it would, it served as enough of a distraction that his hand inadvertently untangled from her hair. The moment she figured she was free enough to make a run for it, she released him entirely and pushed back on her toes to get herself up off her knees.

Unsteadiness, and the soreness that had taken route in her knees from being on the hardwood floor made her slower than she might've been in another scenario, and she'd only gotten a few running steps away before Alex's arm wrapped around her abdomen, picked her up as she kicked and thrashed, and carried her back into the kitchen.

"You're being a little devil today," he growled and bent her over the kitchen island. His hand pressed flat to her back to keep her chest pinned to the marble countertop while his other hand shimmied her out of her sweatpants.

"No I'm not!" She fought back, trying to get away from him. But when it didn't work and she felt him tugging her underwear to the side to expose her to him, she screamed something barbaric.

"Yes you are. Gonna force me to fuck it out of you, Jesus Christ,"

"Wash your goddamn..." the curse died in her throat and turned into an airy groan as Alex pushed his length into her. She let out a sharp cry when he nudged up against her cervix and her hands closed around nothing on the counter. It wasn't that Alex was pounding into her with reckless abandon. No, it was far worse than that. He was going slow. Being patient enough to make sure she felt every last centimeter of him, from base to tip, before slamming himself back inside of her roughly. She knew he could feel her muscles giving up around him each time he buried himself back in, balls deep.

Addi turned her head so her cheek was planted against the counter and she let out another moan when her legs began to tremble.

"You're gonna come already," he growled and took another handful of her hair in her hand and used it as leverage to pull her up until her back was pressed against his chest. He kept one hand encircled around her waist and moved the other to her neck. With a firm hold on the sides and a gentle squeeze, he bit into her earlobe. "You don't get to come yet. I'm not done with you,"

its disappointing to me that out of all ve schwabs books ive only loved vicious, like ill give shades of magic another try later on but ive already read most of her books and none caught my eye like vicious

Sorry I’d like to give book recs but I suddenly realized I do not have a very wide range of books I’ve read.

Do you have any queer book recs that you’d like to talk about? I’d love to read more queer books but was never exposed to much of it as a child when I read through books so quickly

Queer books that I’ve read recently that I quite liked:

The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw

This is actually a horror book and only counts as a romance to me cause my brain is a bit snapped but it is romantic ok it IS what if I was a man eating mermaid and you were a gender unspecified plague doctor and we made a connection despite our mutual inhumanity. It’s also very short

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab

Ok the main relationships in this are f/m but the main characters are bi/queer (there’s a lesbian artist side character named Sam :]!)and there are quite a few lovely wlw scenes that I quite liked. Otherwise I just really liked this book I know some people found it slow but I thought the pacing was very well done and the twists felt well earned. Bittersweet, but (spoilers) had an ending that had me going “good for her >:)”

What Moves the Dead by T Kingfisher

This one’s not romantic and it’s also horror it’s just a reimagining of Poe’s Fall of the House of Usher with a non-binary protag and it’s sooo entertaining. Alex is such a funny pov character for this story.

And now it’s time to rank the TJ Klune books that I’ve read so far (all of Klune’s books are mlm romance fantasy books though I guess itlop is more sci fi) (I liked all of them but here’s my preference in order of least to most enjoyed)

3. In the Lives of Puppets

Reverse retelling of Pinocchio (android man raises a human son in a world of robots) I thought the ace rep was maybe a little heavy handed at times (I’m ace I think the author was doing his best but could’ve dialed it back to feel more natural) and some of the humor wasn’t to my taste but the relationships were sweet and as always I love Klune’s worldbuilding. When the terrible dogfish showed up I said OHHHH out loud cause I hadn’t put the premise together yet despite everything else making it so obvious.

2. The House in the Cerulean Sea

This is everyone’s favorite but I’m gonna be honest. I just thought it was really good. I thought the conflict was a little on the nose/id seen it before so it didn’t really grab me but the setting and characters SHINE. It’s so visual I love Klune’s descriptions (right off the bat even in the boring office setting I was thinking “this should be a laika movie”)

1. Under the Whispering Door

This one is my favorite. Am I predictable. Yes. Am I taking criticism ABSOLUTELY not I loved this book. I love when an asshole learns to grow as a person I love how human this understanding of death and the after life is I love how even though the book tells you the twist on the back cover it still managed to sneak up on me and tear my heart out. Good book.

I’ve had a hard time keeping up between all of the content and posting the final full chapter of The Space Between. Now I just want to stare at THESE.

These are the Episode 2 promo photos. This may have broken me. This is the episode where “Ace (Alex Saxon) senses that Nancy (Kennedy McMann) is holding back and presses her to give him more information about the curse.” IN HIS BEDROOM SITTING ON HIS BED.

Pretty sure it’s Ace’s bedroom - that is the “Ace” poster from the finale on the wall, and the sage green walls, and lighting, match his apt. as well. As someone who has written a few scenes in this room, it’s exciting to see it 😂.

Remember this is also the episode we saw in the M3gan trailer where Nancy has a (supernatural?) stomach bug, that Kennedy said had a Burning Bride vibe, the episode with the first cast photo, and with the adorable pic of Kennedy and Leah sitting on their respective characters’ cars. AND, the episode where Kennedy said “Big Poppa” was her theme song, and and where she is very silly in the final scene in the season trailer (“That is how you CONDUCT an investigation”). I believe she has some kind of whammy that makes her overly confident - hence the Big Poppa vibe and the cocky attitude in the trailer - where I believe she’s talking to Ace.

I’m out of my mind for episode 1, but episode 2 might do me in (I can’t even TALK about episode 3!).

We’ll also get Bess making dinner for Addy’s parents, Nick on a brunch date (!), and George in aspiring lawyer mode. CANNOT WAIT!

Your are the singer of a band and a ‘rival’ of Tokio Hotel. The fans loved when you guy interact with each other. So the company make you fake date someone!

Part one

Georg listing x Black reader

Have fun love<3 - bc its not pr. I wrote in at 3 am. Didn't have time(:

I am a part of a girl band from the US. I have been singing since I was a little kid. At a church and school, I would be in a choir. I met my best friends in high school. Nia the drummer, Jade the basses and Alex played the guitar. We all had a love for music and from then, it was history.

Alex wanted to post a song that we had been working on for the longest. The next day the girls all woke me up, telling me that the song bowled up on YouTube. I never thought it would happen but now look at us. We made something of ourselves. Going on interviews and meeting up with big names.

We had a tour in Europe, surprisingly we had a big fan base over there. Nia, Jade, and I we’re in our practice room, thinking of more outfits for the upcoming show in a few days. “Hey, guys!” Alex came into the room with our drink she went out to get. “Hey babe,” I said with a smile. “So I was thinking, we can do a song for the stage broke.” are heads all turned to the left.

“Okay listen, there's a band here called... Tokio Hotel” “Oh yeah, I heard of them,” Nia said. She has always been the quiet type. The things that came out of her mouth surprised us at times but she kept us on task. “They are a really big group here. Girls are in love with them” Nia added. “They are not bad looking” We looked to see Jade on her phone looking them up.

“Well, I was thinking we can do one of their songs when we hit Germany” “That sounds good but girl... I will have to learn it in like 2 weeks. I know German but it's Arsch”. It was a really good idea, but I didn't want to fuck up anything. “I can help you G, you forget am half germen. I speak it at home,” Nia said. “I know, but people already hate me because am black. I don't want to give them another reason.”

“G, we will all help you, we have 2 weeks. You got this, We got this” Alex told me, All I did was shake my head. For the days leading up to the preforms, we would do a concert and after I would spend m. In my time with Nia, I learned the lyrics to the song Durch Den Monsun.

Now the two weeks are up and it was time to sing. Walking out on stage, we have seen so many people. Signs with our names and faces on them. They were so sweet and amazing.

Now is the time “Wie fühlen wir uns heute Abend? Ich weiß, wir sollten Pause machen. Ich wollte euch etwas zeigen. Bereit Mädels?” (How are we feeling tonight? I know we should be on break but I wanted to show you guys something. Ready girls?)

The guys gave me a head nod and we started on the song. It was 3 seconds into the song and the crowd is going wild. I could remember a thing after that. Now am back in the hotel room lying down. “You know you did amazing, you got all the words right” We stayed in two hotel rooms. I got the share with Nia. “Thanks, babe”

“G, wake up. Addy needs to talk to us” Nia told me “Girl what time is it?” “7 a.m., come on and get dressed, I have to go wake the other girls.” “Is everything okay?” “I don’t know. She told us to meet her downstairs in an hour or so. She told us to dress like ourselves. So go in the shower first, it takes you forever to do your hair” I laughed while she was walking to the next door.

We all met up in Nia and I's room to just do some finishing touches on our look. We all have a different look. Jade, Alex, Nia, and I all wore the same shirt differently but had the same dark blue jeans. I had washed my hair and it ended up in a curled-up afro which I loved. I had made my shirt into a high crop top so you could still see our band name and the dark blue jeans high-waisted.

We got downstairs to see Addy waiting for us. “Good morning my loves. I want to meet you guys to some people!” “Addy I know you are the manager and all but I might have to kill you if you try to wake us up again this early?” Alex said. “I got you guys food” “Okay I love you again” Alex added. “So what's up,” I asked

“Tokio Hotel saw your guys perform last night and they wanted to meet you, in person,” She said with a smile on her face. “Wait are you for really!” “Yes I am, and we have to meet this in 3 hours. The place is an hour away and I want you all awake so we will drive there. Get more food and meet up with them. Okay” “Yes” we added at the same time

“Let us get this shit on the road. Am want to sleep in the car” Alex had always been the outgoing one. Always speaking her mind and not caring. Jade was that way too but she had a filter. The car ride was okay. We called for a bit until Alex went to sleep. We stopped and ate and 15 minutes later we were at a company building. The man who was driving told us we had to go through the back, due to the fans.

Even going through the back there was still fans everywhere. All I could think was that this group made it far. Each of us had a security guard by our side until we got into the building and into the room we were supposed to be in. Addy opened the door, she was greeted by a man who I assumed was their manager. They chatted for a few seconds then he looked at us.

“It is so nice to finally meet your girls. My name is Max and am the boy's mangers.” “Hello, Max” “Hi” we each said. “Max can you give the girls a run down for today” “Oh yes, I know it's one of your breaks from your show and I premises you girls can all sleep in Tom-” All I was thinking at this time was just sleep. “You and the boys will have an hour to yourself. No cameras, no pictures, nothing. Just getting to know each other.” He looked down had his right wrist “Then in about, an hour and a half now. We will have you guys take group pictures together. Everyone in Germany loves you guys here and why not have two big groups show some love to the people but give them what they want? Yeah!”

The girls and I looked at each other “Excuse me, sir, what do you mean?” Nia was saying what we all were thinking. “The people want to see the group interact with one another. Is that fine with you guys?” Just nodding our heads yes. “All right, follow me!” He took us to a room, from the outside we could hear voices.

He knocked on the door. “Boys there here” He opened the door. The girls and I looked at each other. “So who’s going in first?” I asked “I say you G, You are a singer” “Yeah, G” “ What the fuck, why.?” You are the face of the group. Now go show your face first” I walked in with a fake smile on my face. The first person I see he a tall, guy with long brown hair. His smile was to die for and I only looked for 3 seconds before taking my eyes off him.

The rest of the girls followed right next to me in a line. “Now I want you all to mix in with each other. Bill, Tom, Georg, and Gustav. Meet G, Jade, Alex and Nia. We will see you all in an hour” I looked around the room, It was like an office space. A big round table that fit all 8 of us. Everyone got into a spot with a person we didn’t know. The brown-haired boy sat on the right of me.

“Am Bill!” He had the biggest smile on his face and his hair was as big as mine. He sat on my left “I always wanted to meet you all. You guys are amazing!” He finished “So are you! Your voice is beautiful by the way” I feel like I could talk to him for days without getting bored. “Do you only go by G?” “Yeah it is a stage name. And It is easier to say for people”

It took a while but everyone started talking to one another. It felt so good being about the talk to people who have the same passion that you do. We related to each other, not even an hour later and it felt like we had been friends for over years. Less than an hour.

I found out his name, Georg. He was talking to Jade about the animal when she brought up my name. “Oh G loves animals, She has like 5 dogs. Right G?” “Oh what's their name?” Georg had asked me. “Princess, Prince, Zoey and Zion. I only have 4.” I laughed, he was looking at me the whole time I was talking or anytime we talked. He would always be the one asking me questions. I just felt so open with him, I didn't know how to act. He made me feel somewhat. A safe way but I didn’t know if I wanted to get too close, just to keep out of making a fool of myself.

Right when I finished laughing with Georg the door opened. We didn't stop talking, we were all having a good time. “Okay guys, It's time to go,” Addy told us “It's off the the shot. Now would you all like to take different cars or take the bus?” Max asked. “We will take the same bus, I have so much to ask Alex” Bill and Alex were talking the whole time. They seem like they would become best friends by the end of the day.

I made sure everyone got a chance to walk out the door before I did. Georg stayed behind me. “You can go first,” I told him “No it's fine, please go first” “I really hope we aren't gonna fight about this” “We are not, because you will be going first” I walked out signing. I walked out to see Max and Addy waiting for us. We walked ahead of them. I looked behind me to see them talking, I tried to listen but I could hear nothing with Alex and Bill talking loudly.

We went through the first to get to the bus. There were fans everywhere. Since Georg and I stayed behind a little, we ended a stuck. With people trying to get on the bus. “Hold my hand, I will push us through this,” He told me and I told his hand and made it on the bus, safely.

the parallels between jake and addy’s childhoods are so so interesting to me. they were both molded by their parents at a young age to act a certain way and to have specific expectations in their lives.

ever since he was a child, jake heard about wellington avenue from his father, and how it was the "best of the best". he was raised with three homes, the perfect nuclear family, and the kind of popularity that comes from belonging to a rich, affluent family. and he was told by his father and society at large to expect that and more as he grew up.

as he got older and became more conventionally handsome, his father started to tell him what kind of girl he should look for: someone sweet, submissive, beautiful and willing to see his success as her own. she had to be the perfect accessory for his perfect life, one filled with the kind of accomplishments expected of the son of a rich, prominent lawyer.

as for addy, she was moulded into the perfect accessory of jake's dreams by her mother. the only time she showed addy affection was when she was prepping her for beauty pageants. as a little girl desperate for her mother's love and approval, addy turned herself into a beauty pageant and homecoming court kind of girl. and along with her mother's desire for the perfect daughter, addy saw the way her mother struggled with her relationships, and the way ashton was praised for marrying a handsome lawyer. the importance of the perfect appearance, and perfect family, was drilled into addy too. she was too young to be the wife of a lawyer, so she chose the next best thing: the son of a rich lawyer from a perfect family.

jake and addy could have followed down the paths set up for them, and jake was more than willing to do so (and even felt entitled to it), expect that addy had someone in her life who was able to see through the perfect family façade. both ashton and katherine riordan understood that the "perfect family" was detrimental, but katherine let scott continue to push his ideals onto jake after alex died. and ashton actively tried to convince addy that there was more to life than hanging onto jake's arm.

if katherine had done for jake what ash did for addy, then this story could have been very different.

2023 Reading Wrap Up: Favorites from the First Half

Not to sound like a broken record, but I can't believe we're already halfway through the year! (and even further, given how late I'm posting this lol). I've read an ungodly amount of books already, and while I try my best to shout out my favorites as I go or in my monthly wrap-ups, I don't always succeed. So Here I Am, to do a little more shouting about the 10 most memorable books or series I've read so far in 2023!

The God of Endings by Jaqueline Holland had me entirely engrossed. It's slow and moving and dark, with it's own take on vampirism, with any number of the associated content warnings. All the content warnings actually (but harm to animals, harm to children, and domestic abuse are some of the big ones. Does the Nazi murder make up for it?). Best described as The Historian meets everything I wanted from The Invisible Life of Addie Larue but didn't get.

The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez I have, in fact, already yelled about a bit. It was so good! Think A:TLA meets The Raven Tower and The Hundred Thousand Kindgoms, and queer! The thing that really blew my mind was the second-person narration, which is always a swing, and I think this nailed it! I loved how it worked with the story and frame narrative, and let me tell you, on audiobook parts of the story felt positively haunted. I won't say it's the perfect novel (I'm a little eh about the last third), but that in no way dampens my enthusiasm. cw for ritual cannibalism.

Sword Stone Table ed by Jenn Northington & Swapna Krishna is an anthology of Arthurian re-imaginings with about a 1-in-3 success rate (for me anyways. is that good for an anthology?) that snuck onto this list purely on the strength of Mayday by Maria Dahvana Headley. I just yelled about my love for unusual narrative structures, so when I tell you that this is a retelling of the Arthurian family drama set in late 19th century America, told only through found objects, newspaper clippings, and manuscript exerpts? I had *such* a great time trying to puzzle things out with my half-remembered memories of the lore (heavily corrupted by the show Merlin, lol). Additional shout-out to Spear by Nicola Griffith, which didn't make it into the collection due to length but was also amazing!

Sea Hearts (aka The Brides of Rollrock Island) by Margo Lanagan was an absolute surprise, for several reasons. For one, I own both a physical and digital copy under different titles and didn't realize it until I was cleaning up my goodreads account! And second, the Brides cover is an absolute travesty and is entirely the wrong vibe - this may be YA (technically?) but it doesn't read like it! Sea Hearts is the story of a small island community with a history of summoning wives from the sea, a tradition only whispered about until an outcast young woman revives the practices to sow discord and revenge among the community members we follow. Incredibly moving and sorrowful, this is for fans of literary, historical, and speculative fiction.

Spill Zone by Scott Westerfeld & Alex Puvilland. This graphic novel is about a city hit by an unknown disaster that has killed or mutated everything and everyone who wasn't able to evacuate in time. Our main character sneaks back in to take pictures to support herself and her little sister, and while I have some reservations about the larger plot, the art of the Zone is GORGEOUS. Sketchy, eerie, hauntingly beautiful, I loved it, enough that I have no regrets. I could see this making a great comic series or animated show instead.

Major, heartfelt shout-out to K.J. Charles, who absolutely saved my sanity for a few months there. My brain was in a weird spot for a few months and I burned through a good chunk of her backlist, so it's absolutely necessary to name drop a few of my favorites. The Will Darling series, a 1920's spy adventure/gay romance, did not immediately win me over, but exposure makes the heart grow fonder? I don't think they say that, actually, but I love a competent dumbass, and when I finally picked up on the crossover with Charles' England duo, I absolutely cackled. I can't wait to reread these! Any Old Diamonds of the Lilywhite Boys series did catch me immediately, even if I managed to read it out of order with one of it's prequel series. Jewel thieves, a heist, revenge, family drama, what's not to love? I loved every single book and novella in this series.

Lord Peter Wimsey (series) by Dorothy L Sayers. This has been a work in progress since 2022 and has consistently made my favorites lists, but truly, she saved the best for last! Murder Must Advertise was stellar, but everyone who said the Harriet Vane novels were the best is absolutely correct. I don't know why I love them, other than that they're wonderfully complex mysteries, but I do. I definitely need to find another long mystery series for my mental health or else I'm going to start these from the beginning again (I still need to read the short stories after all).

The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green. I'll be honest, I didn't write a review for this at the time, and my memory for non-fiction is terrible. But I loved this book, I love John Green, and this was fantastic on audio. Thank you John for putting hope and goodness and beauty into the world.

84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff was a beautiful little book for the book lover. It's a collection of letters between the American author and a used-book seller (and family and associates) in London in the 50s and 60s. Its funny, it's friendly, it's lovely, but there's also an underlying tension that builds throughout from the repeated invitations to the author to come visit, and the book copy saying that THEY NEVER MEET. It about killed me, and did make me cry. For further reading you can also check out the author's related memoirs, The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street and Q's Legacy.

Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein. Frankly, I'm impressed by my nonfiction choices so far this year. This one is what it says and it HURT. SO. MUCH. I am absolutely a generalist and it's made life frustrating, so reading this was both extremely comforting but also enraging, because society doesn't need another reason to suck. Alas.

Secret Relationship w/Lexie Grey

You transfer into Seattle Grace from New York, they’d needed a new OBGYN/Neonatal attending since Addison left, and once Richard finally came to terms with Addi not coming back, he opened up the position and practically hired you the instant your application came across his desk

You kept relatively to yourself at the beginning, even coming from a different city, you knew the drama at Seattle Grace was unparalleled, you ducked your head and did your job. Though there was one first year resident who caught your eye more than you probably should have let, maybe there really was something in the water after all?

Lexie was blown away by how incredibly skilled you were, and how you weren’t afraid to take risks on surgeries or procedures she’d never even heard of before. Despite you being professional and there to do your job, you took a shining to each other. At first it was just friends, a drink here or there at Joe’s after a long day.

Then there was the night there was probably one too many cocktails, you ended up buried in each other’s arms, exploring each other’s bodies in ways you’d never imagined before. You were lucky you were paged in extremely early that morning, able to duck out of the house full of residents/interns before any of the rest of them were up. The last thing either of you wanted was having to sneak you out the back door so Meredith didn’t see you

After that first night you couldn’t keep away from each other, found each other in spare moments whenever you could, you sought each other out when you lost patients, eager to simply be held by the other person while you grieved, or struggled through a day. You knew it wasn’t ideal to date a resident, but at this point (and at this hospital), who really cared anymore?

Your first major fight was over Lexie attempting to sneak you out of the house before the crack of dawn. You grumbled heavily, having spent half the night in the OR already, you were in no shape to want to get up or deal with the argument in that moment. You argued that you felt like a teenager all over again, that Mer shouldn’t care what Lexie was doing, everyone was a full fledged adult. Besides, out of all people shouldn’t Mer care the least about an attending dating someone who they had seniority over?

You ended up sauntering out of the house much later than Lexie had wanted that morning, though she stayed upstairs in her room, you ducked into the kitchen for coffee, running right into Meredith. She cocked a brow, saying straight up that she thought you were better than Alex. You cackled a laugh and lied, saying you’d been helping Lexie go over a few trickier procedures and too much wine led to you passing out without realizing it.

You manage to keep your secret a few weeks longer, until you give Lexie an ultimatum, saying that you’re putting in disclosure papers to the chief, the security of your job was too important to risk it, you cared about her a lot and didn’t want to jeapordize either of your futures because you were sneaking around. You asked if she was okay with that, and as much as she was worried, she was more than ecstatic that you felt that strongly about her.

The paperwork didn’t really matter, it’s not like the chief was about to go around gossiping, but it was the nudge Lexie needed to not be so worried about what her sister would think. You were invited over for dinner along with a couple of the other doctors from the hospital, and during the night, it was let out. Meredith came across a little hesitant, but wasn’t too worried, you were a much better match for her than Mark was after all, and as long as Lexie was happy, safe, and loved, that’s all that she really cared about.
