So turns out the middle grade books are somewhat plot essential for the High Republic so I checked a few out on Libby and have been blowing through them at about a day each. Really good for what they are. Obviously aimed at the preteen age range but enjoyable enough as an adult. No complaints but I just had to draw attention to these 2 absolute choice as hell Star Wars names:

I love you Hackrack Bep and Sachary Jeffington.

Also now I’m realizing both of them are at the head of the Dalnan government and suddenly a lot of this planet makes sense. See? Plot essential.

Okay either a kilometer is much shorter in the GFFA than it is here, or something really weird is going on with planetary geology here. The earth’s crust is at most 75 kilometers thick, on average it’s much thinner. What planets have multiple hundreds of km thick crust? I’m assuming that by “crust” they mean crust and mantel (aka the solid stuff). Dalna is supposed to be a small planet, so the liquid core is probably much closer to the surface? I’m also not sure what’s going on with the tectonic plates in this book.

A Funny Take on Counterparts

You know the cliche by now, Danny or Jack is a counterpart to Bruce or Superman or the like. Now here's the humorous take

Danny, who for some reason has the white hair from Phantom Planet is teaching Dani some ninja moves he learns from the time traveling

And then this guy and his daughter falls out the Fenton Portal

Being the gremlin that Dani is and eager to test out her moves, attacks the intruder. Only for the daughter to pull off the exact same move and end up hitting each other face first

Danny and the stranger: Now now, perfectly symmetrical vio...lence...never solved anything

The two turn to look at each other and then repeat that one mirror gag seen in cartoons and then the Fenton parents come down the basement.

Maddie: Danny, isn't your future self suppose to be more muscular?
