Cause I really doubt they did. When you are writing queer characters, and you are not queer, you need queer guidance. When you are writing strong female characters, and you are not female, you need female guidance. You cannot accurately write what you don’t experience. Your bias for what YOU think these marginalized/oppressed communities want will get in the way and fuck everything up.

The “accidental” queer undertones might not be a big deal to you if you aren’t queer/don’t understand how film works. Film is a group effort. They either A) were deliberately ignoring people/suggestions or B) didn’t diversify their group even though it would have helped greatly with the writing considering there ARE MULTIPLE QUEER CHARACTERS AND WOMEN
