I've been pouring out love like it's water only to be left with a barren desert in need of rain. Clutching at each cactus hoping that along with the pain of holding something so sharp, my thirst will be quenched; but here I lay seeing mirages.

The Expectant Narcissist

He will not get you anything for your birthday three years in a row. Not a card, flowers...a day of rest. Yet in the month of his birth he will inquire as to what you will be doing for his bornday. He will expect you to get him a gift. He ignores you all day and then expects you to want to have sex. And the sex? Hardly ever eats the box. No sucking of the nipples, caresses or passion. And he expects it to be good. He buys you nothing. But constantly expects you to grab him something at the store. He responds to your love with criticisms and insults. Yet expects you to continue to respond and exude affections. His insecurities are getting in the way of receiving love. His heart is covered with his pain. You have given up on all attempts at loving him now. Everything he does now is a bother. Every time he opens his mouth to ask for something, for you to do something, to talk shit and complain...you blackout. You’ve had enough of his half assed, bare minimum if that ass love. You are tired of the ridiculous and unrealistic expectations that the expectant narcissist has bestowed upon you. The epiphany is that you teach people how to treat you. He expects these things because you allow them to transpire. The wasted energy of blacking out results in nothing if you eventually relent. He will only expect what you allow.

I miss everything I wish so badly that you knew what you wanted... And that all the times you lied to me and talked to other girls and acted like I'm the crazy one was false and just a dream... Instead of validating that you weren't ready for a girl like me... I know I have worth, I know there's plenty of people that would kill to show me how important I am to them, and I know I don't even need anyone to hold me ever to survive;... But I still can't help but miss your face, and your eyes digging a hole into my soul. And the fact that you like the movie clueless, and the talks we had before anything serious started. The way you made love to me all slow two years ago and told me that "this is what love is" I remember these kind of memories like it was yesterday. I wish I didn't love you so fucking much that I can't breathe sometimes... I know your feelings will never be the same as mine...but it was worth all that pain to try, because I cared...
