Self published authors, this one’s for you!
So, I’m looking for some more books to add to my shelf and want to support self published authors at the same time!
I enjoy most genres, tbh, although I do prefer LGBTQ stories! So promo yourself to me and show me your books! ❤️
I’m also looking for more mutuals so I’ll be following all of you back if you choose to follow!

Now I'm curious, is there any media relating to/talking about/have characters that are systems/have DID/OSDD (that isn't Marvel's Moonknight) in a positive and humane way?
We haven't seen those that much

oh hey, if any of my followers happen to have good fantasy book recs, would you mind sending them my way? (particularly interested in older series/less-well-known authors, not so interested in romance-focused novels)

Anyone have any book recommendations that are similar to the below web comics?
Twilight Poem
The Dragon King’s Bride
The Tainted Half
Under the Oak Tree
I just really like the idea of a main character who’s been abused/ traumatized but ends up finding someone who’s ‘scary’ that actually takes the time to understand them. Give me someone broken who finds their home in a person they least expected.

Hey! Anybody have good fantasy show/podcast/book recommendations? Asking for a friend (all I can think to suggest is Critical Role 😂). Bonus points if it has a bard in it!

Does anyone have any good vampire book recommendations?
I’m looking specifically for high fantasy, with maybe gothic vibes. Not low fantasy / modern. Romance is good too, but not essential. I’m really stumped for good books like this right now…

I Need Help Finding This Book
I know nothing about this book, except for a single plotline.
What I Know
• I read it somewhere between 2012-2017, I don't think it was a new book when I read it.
• Genre: Fantasy • Part of the Plot: The main character was traveling through a cold landscape on a sled trying to get somewhere
• Part of the Plot (the main thing I remember): The main character needed to talk to someone important, but the guard didn't want to let them in. So they wagered that if the main character won a game, they would be let in.
○ The Game: Players get cards representing creatures in the world. Players take turns assigning their cards to seven attributes (speed of a horse, intelligence of a fairy, stuff like that). The seven attributes as I remember them: Head, Heart, Health, Skin, Speed, Strength, and Special (at least one of these is wrong for sure). One of the creature cards was just two eyes in a black background, which the main character recognized as an ambush hunter known for its speed, so they put that one in Speed. A small crowd of other people gather to watch the game. Once both players have filled out all the attributes, the composite creature is created in a hologram arena (or fantasy equivalent). The main character's creature had glittering wings and was very fast, the opponent's creature was a big lump of fat that moved by bouncing and attacked by crushing. (maybe vice versa). The main character's creature was very clever and tricked the opponent into thinking that it was injured, and attacked when it got close. The main character wins the game, but the guard goes back on his word and doesn't let them in (maybe they fight afterward)
I'm sorry that I don't remember very much. I promise this isn't some elaborate promotional stunt. Reblog so more people can see it.

I am actually asking for book recommendations (this happens about once every five years)!
Does anyone know of fantasy mystery books? I'm thinking of like a procedural/ cozy mystery/ whodunit but in a fantasy world/ with fantasy characters or magic thrown in.

I actually have a few pics from the several of the German httyd books
There's a couple different illustrators
Unfortunately I don't actually own the books, though if anyone knows either a good place in the US to buy books from different country
Or a German place that I could potentially understand and has decent prices/US shipping id love to know soon could try to get a hold of at least one
Anyways for now I have some ebook versions
They're not the best and I definitely don't think they have all the pictures in them
But I can share some of my favorites lol
Along with the problems I have with each illustration style
Well it's not really a problem with the styles, just how they work for this series

looking for oddly specific tropes, please recommend me some books/podcasts/shows on these tropes
found family tropes
rough on the edges (preferably middle aged) man/woman looking after a kid with trust issues
an unlikely bunch bounding over everyday things
angsty tropes (preferably not a romance book/podcast/show)
character A saves character B’s life (for example, A takes a bullet for B. another example, A covers B when an explosion happens). even better if there’s treating wound scenes after
anti-hero/fallen hero trope, with morally grey characters
manipulative person A who tries to use innocent person B, but slowly getting attached to them
post apocalyptic trope
post apocalyptic world, with a physically strong survivor finding a kid whom decided to tag along. preferably a book with fluff and angst
sci-fi/dystopian tropes
set in near future, the government had became corrupted and the world was caught up in capitalism. a bunch of outcasts are trying to get by in a world like this and finds comfort in each other
tired/traumatised yet rough on the edges protagonist who is just trying to live life in a near-future world, but keeps on getting caught up in troubles
please recommend me some books/podcasts/shows with these specific tropes, thanks a bunch!

I wish I could exclude specific genres when searching the library catalogs. (I can include genres, but I’d love an exclude romance button.)
