So it never actually says that he's three years older

What you're referring to is in book 11, Snotlout says he was the Heir to the Tribe until he was three years old

Which yeah, seems clear he's 3 years older

Problem

Book 12 says he's 15 in book 2

which Hiccup was at the ripe old age of 10 1/2 at the time, so technically i should've said over 5 years not almost 5

The thing is, it really depends on when Snotlouts birthday is, what age he was turning that year, and what specifically was meant by 'until he was 3', yadda, yadda...

First, in book 2, he's 15

We dont know if his birthday is earlier in the year and he's just turned 15, or if its later in the year and he'll be turning 16

Second, what he meant by until he was 3 could've been that Hiccup was born when he was three

Or he couldve meant that he was heir during the ages of 1, 2, and 3, and then later, when he was 4, Hiccup was born

So until he was 3 he was the heir and then when he was not longer 3 he was, he was no longer the heir

There's also the potential that when Gobber says Snotlout got the star at 15, that he was thinking of the actual awarding of the star and not the event that Snotlout earned the star at, which couldve taken place months later, we just don't know

So yeah!

Snotlout is anywhere from 3 - 5, possibly even 6 years older than Hiccup, it just depends on what you choose to go with👍

To be fair, the sclera might not be white

Neither it nor the scales and surrounding skin are drawn in color, just sepia tones

Its probably a lighter color, but white isnt the only light color

Could be light blue, light green, maybe not light red 🤔

This is from the Complete Book of Dragons, which is a whole dragon guide side book, not something like the weird random color covers (Hiccups mismatched sleeves my beloathed)

In regards to being Canon, I wouldnt say its 100% canon, but I wouldn't say its non-canon either

That drawing is from a page showing different dragon eye shapes, and while its most likely meant to be The Windwalker's eye color, windwalker is also just a species, so it could just be a color that their eyes can be, its mostly up to personal interpretation imo

Anyways youd have to find a way to extend his story a bit but basically he comes in shortly after httyd2, and gets the gang to an island, plot happens, then he knocks them out and takes them prisoner, because he wants to become a dragon

Which like, mood, but i dont think murder is the way to go for that

And with book Hiccups whole... everything with dragons, especially being able to talk to them, i just have a feeling Calder wouldnt like him

Though I think their first meeting could take place before Hiccup becomes king, in between books 9 and 10

At the end of the comic Calder kind of, well, explodes and dies, but for the AU it would be instead he just pops into Bookverse, and he hears about Hiccup and The Things and all that, decides that the gods are giving him another way to become a dragon, via thia Hiccup and The Things

As someone who's made a timeline for the series, im gonna give you a heads up, skip book 1s ages, only use it for the seasons

All ages in book 1 are entirely incompatible with the rest of the books, probably because its the first book, and Cressida didn't think that far into how old everyone should be lmao

I'm currently trying to work out as accurate a timeline as I can manage of the httyd books. Let's just say, it's very inconsistent 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is what I've got so far:
