Irish basketball players were basically forced to play Israel the other day because if they didn't the FIBA ((Basketball association basically)) would've gotten around a 6 figure fine and possible court case for discrimination of something or other ((feel free to fact check that)). 5 players backed out from it as a boycott but the rest of the players went on to travel to Latvia to play the team. One of the Israeli players commented (roughly) that the Irish were antisemitic because they didn't want to play Israel/there was talk of boycotting.

Oh, and let's not forget that the Israeli team was photographed with an IDF 'machine gun' ((not good with guns and am not willing to get it wrong, again, fact check all you want)), another picture being the team posing with a "Stand with Israel" banner.

A good thing is that the Irish team did all they could of not showing their support for Israel by refusing to handshake before(?) the game.

Me, trying to come up with a plot that accurately reflects the complexity and dynamics that are Annabeth's and her father's relationship with one another, as well as her feelings towards his new family, because while there is love there, how much necessarily? Not enough, to be assumed, because Annabeth ran away when she was seven and, with Luke's description of her in the books at the time he and Thalia found her, she wasn't in the best condition. Reading about how monsters tracking on to her scent and made her a target was the cause for many fights between her and parents, all of which was before she ran away and reads, personally to me, as a pair of adults blaming their young child, but these are also supposedly the same parents who, when discovering that she was in danger, actively wished for her well-being and, in her father's case, put themselves in harms way to go rescue her alongside her more than equipped friends, something, something, I could go on!

You are your usual Sky kid, with the new Season of AURORA out, (Where through the grapevine, heard that you get to literally meet GOD.) you've been hard at work farming for candles.

Especially Eden candles for height spells! .. Yeah you used them up trying to get taller.

On your way to the current known location of a Red Shard Event, which is in the Village of Dreams, you encounter a Moth, well, not really. They seem to understand the world enough and are apparently still getting used to seasons.

As you both converse, you're waiting for the eruption with the Sky kid as you give them advice on how to purify it since as stated, they're still getting used to it.

Once the eruptions roll in, you notice 4 gold stars rolling in too. You would assume that it's more sky kids that either are born or being re-born but..

They crash land right near you. The eruption happening at the same time. In a panic you tell the Sky Kid to move the weird dressed sky kids to a safe zone while you purified the darkness.

...

Venti is the first to wake up, instantly waking the others.

The sight was beautiful, but the situation wasn't. There were some sky kids sheltered in the stage with them, a blue person (one of the Performance Spirits) seemed to be healing a few.

A majority of them had one similar trait, simply done hair and a brown cape with 1 star at the back. Asking the spirit what's going on prompts the response of:

"Some advanced Sky kids brought a bunch of moths here to prepare for the purification of the eruption"

Excuse them as they remain confused the wHAT?!

After a good hour of finding the way out and to the village of Dreams it's.. a bit chaotic.

"CALL OVER HERE IM TRYING OT BURN S*HONK*T"

"AAAAAAAA-"

"WHO KEEPS DYING I CAN'T KEEP SAVING YOU?!"

Among the yelling children is another yelling child, you. You were flying up to get the flying dark plants, activating pre-prepared and placed shared memories to signal the mutated crabs. Even using yourself as bait while the rest continued to burn the darkness away.

What are you doing there, your grace?! You could get hurt!!

Venti and Ei were about to march over there if it weren't for Zhongli and Nahida holding them back. Don't worry Zhongli activated his shield, they're safe.

As the final act ensues (collecting the fragments of light), they watch you maneuver through the floating red crystals to get the.. glowing.. mantas??

As the final memory if collected, they all condense into one and bless the sky children.

As much as they want to approach you, it seems you're a bit occupied..

"Aiya..!! That was harder than I thought!"

"Really? It was actually kinda easy.. you all are so loud-"

"I still have to head to the stadium to see some of the spirits. Are you guys excited for the concert?"

ANYWYAS as i said from my other account's reblog, it would be. amazing to see a licorice-focused update. YES, he HAS been included in multiple other updates, the most noticable one was the BTS collab (bro finally was significant in an update </3) but other than that, his entire existance has been pushed aside for other cookies.

now don't get me wrong, its cool to see new cookies appear in the game but.. can you... finish other pieces of lore.. please?? this doesn't only apply to licorice cookie obviously, but sinc ehtis post is only abt lico im going to use his lore as an example

if i recall correctly, the only even "hint" of lore was him briefly talking about growing up in the Licorice Tribe in Chapter 13, claiming how it was "a shabby town to begin with", and its now in complete ruins. now i've sorta havent played the entirity of Chapter 13, but i've went through many spoilers of it and noticed that. there's nothing rlly much, except for that. (oh, i did hear he did help control the Licorice Sea, but i am not sure if that's canon or not.)

other than that, devsisters hasnt really... done anything with him? lore related?? ivve seen another post mentioning something about how he was just reduced as a comic relief and had wasted potential, which i heavily agree on.

like.. devsisters you cant just briefly mention the tribe he grew up in and never mention it again?? theres so many people who would love to know more about licorice's past, but devsisters practically ignores that just for some reason??

it really sucks as well, because if more lore about him was revealed, i feel like people would get a better understanding about his character, and not be seen as some "haha funny emo!!!!!!!!!!" (off topic but he isnt even emo HELP. he. he was confirmed goth by cookie run's official insta page but yeah) cookie that would never be taken seriously.

also, if more lore about him got revealed, i feel like it would help explain more about how he turned out the way he was..?? yes, i am aware his little story info thing DOES explain it was due to the lack of recognition, but it would be better to see. an even more in-depth explanation, as the info given about him has always been really.. breif.

the main point is, i would really love to see a licorice-focused update. a CoD update would probably be good enough if they can't be bothered, but if there WAS a CoD update, theres a very high chance of licorice being pushed aside for some.. idfk super epic or new cookies for the CoD

how do you … hhow do yiu start writjng. like how do you. opening paragraph…. how do you begin..

sksjdj sorry this took so long, i genuinely rewrote my answer 3-4 times 💀 took me a few hours to figure out how i wanted to answer this tbh bc usually i don't even know what im doing either

also im by no means a perfect writer, i’m still working to improve with every fic, so pls take this w a grain of salt, everyone writes their own way as well…hopefully this isnt too long or annoying or preachy or anything.

i always have an outline of my fic ready before i start writing, regardless of if it's super vague or highly detailed, i also try to think about what the character(s) want from the situation(s) and potential ways that could create conflict (not in an angsty way per se but in a plot moving way). knowing this is super helpful for deciding where to start because different types of openings are good for different stories.

ideas i use a lot!

-> character intro! this is my most commonly used way to start a new story. i like to make sure my MC is in the first sentence so the reader knows who the story is going to focus on. this does have a potential to go wrong, bc essentially, there's the good way and then there's my immortal 💀

when i say to use a character intro, i mean like their mindset/beliefs as they pertain to the plot, main conflict they're facing, or how they're feeling at that moment, rather than "basic info"

ex: megumi fushiguro is 15, has black hair and green eyes, and he's a jujutsu sorcerer and is in his first year at jujutsu tech. in his free time, he reads. he loves animals. he was abandoned by his parents at a young age, so he's wary of others <- boring, bland, sparks 0 interest

VS: Megumi was never a fan of love. Not in books, not in TV shows, not in movies, and certainly not in real life. He hadn’t so much as considered having romantic feelings for someone in fifteen years of living, and he wasn’t about to start now. Definitely not now. Not after what had happened. <- interesting, gives insight into how megumi thinks (and how strongly), sparks interest bc what happened??

hsiao doesn't want to date a coworker because she has a dangerous job, but has a crush on saiko. urie can't express his feelings because he's spent ages bottling them up, and now he needs to grieve someone he didn't realize he cared for until it's too late. establishing these things is really important, and should be done eventually either way.

i think this method works best for stories focusing on a conflict that's more internal because it sets up the characters psyche, but can still be used for external conflict effectively!

-> dialogue: another one that can be tricky, and gets a bad wrap sometimes, but it can very much be used well. it's good to use if the story is focusing on interpersonal conflict, especially if it involves a lot of arguing. usually, i throw the reader into a high tension, fast moving scene with dialogue, sometimes one with a confrontational start, sometimes in the middle of an already brewing interaction.

-> strong feelings: this works best with negative feelings, so i use it mostly for reeeeaaaallly angsty fics. physical pain, extreme sadness or guilt, grief, rage, or high stress work really well for this, because they're feelings that tend to consume everything else. you gotta be ready to dedicate a few paragraphs to really good descriptions that make readers feel. it's a bit intimidating to write and has the potential to overwhelm readers as well, so i tend to reserve it for fics that i intend to be really heavy and upsetting, no happy ending/comfort type fics

-> straight into action: gonna be honest, i try to avoid this one as much as possible unless it's in a multi-chapter fic where the characters/conflict have been firmly established. used outside of this, i think it works best with actions that are literal beginnings, or it feels like part of the story is missing. things like waking up, opening a door (staring at a blank page trying to write..........)

lil tips ig

★ shorter sentences: my usual writing style has a lot of lengthy sentences, but when it's the first thing a reader sees, it slows down the pace immediately. of course, there's a place for long sentences as well, but the average reader is going to go for something that grabs their attention quickly.

★ u don't have to start from the beginning!! honestly i get this from writing academic essays, but sometimes it's easier to write the beginning after you wrote the rest because even if u think u know where ur going, it can change as u write it. tbh once i wrote fic almost entirely backwards 💀

Their body temperature depends on their climate. Sort of. Technically they all have a normal body temp, but you know how some people are always cold? In that way.

I think it’s canon actually that climates influence the general character of a personifications… although romano exists… so maybe not…. Not sure about that one.

They don’t get sick, in fact I hc they CANT get sick with normal human diseases. Their well being depends on the state of their people/the country. They get „sick” from wars, rebellions, econimic issues etc.

They can’t reproduce. Except for the times they can. Because egypt.

They exist as long as people feel connected to the idea of a „nation” or otherwise feel connected to that identity. Even if they „die”, as long as there are people who consider themselves a certain nationality, they can come back to life.

I’m partial to the idea of some of them appearing just because they were created artificially… like brčko. I will never actually talk more about her all you get is cryptic little puzzle pieces of info about her. Anyways she magically appeared when some documents were signed because funny

I’m unsure what happens when a nation is wiped out. Like when every person who was once a part of that nation either dies or stops identifying with it… maybe they get sick and die but maybe instead they turn into a human and slowly age, then die as the last person of that nationality….

They need to eat sleep etc but can go without doing any of that for longer periods of time than normal humans

They have hobbies and interests and can love humans but have no ambition or desire to live. Not even an animal like urge to live to pass something on. Because they really can’t. They exist to live and to vibe only. And despite no aspiration to live they will beg for mercy if you put a knife to their throat…. Hah… thats so weird

Despite being able to die (technically, even if not permanently) it takes them hundreds of years to understand the concept of death.

Same with aging, it makes no sense how a human deteriorates in, say, 60 years. How little that is, compared to their own age.

Shanks in the iconic hat scene gives luffy a hat and a script shanks had written and told him to become the greatest director (changed from actor to director-)

Shanks works on on the road Broadway stuff

Zoro is a fight choreographer

Nami is a stage manager/ stage producer (yes ik the differences but still)

Sanji is the normal choreographer (dance and he has to work with zoro alot)

Usopp work with set but wishes to become a great actor one day

Chopper is on props and is a stage hand

Robin is another manager that helps with stuff back stage and helps give everyone a break

Franky is our man for tech, lights, and sound

Brooke is on it for music and some sound

Lastly Jimbe is here because he retired but is helping the gang make some amazing musical (teacher who helps)

Ace and the white beard pirates are a group that goes around doing musicals on the road too, but mainly stationed in one area

Marines can be the government or even critics

Sabo and revolutionaries do postmodern stuff

Buggy does circus stuff

Mihawk is king at fight choreography while perona is out here with costumes

Some of the crews are actually doing some stuff as actors too, like they aren't just crew

Fights that occur are actual fights so yes, adults r having beef with teens here too

When it comes to devil fruits they are still in play, and yes... even Chopper or Brooke and no, Fishman don't exist neither do I other species besides humans. So everyone else is human, an animal (via gum gum fruit) or dead/skeleton (gum gum fruit) no exceptions unless mentioned in comments

Okay so, I need to start by saying that I'm not like....super serious about this, personally, because I think people can use whatever words they want, I just know it bothers a lot of greek people, it's slightly jarring to see, and it's just in my opinion not the best term to use. I know it's wide spread, I don't have any delusions that it can change at this point, but it's still a little pet peeve of mine.

The main thing is that hellenismos/hellenism as a greek word is used by greeks to describe the whole of our culture, or, on occasion, both the culture and the people. So seeing it used to describe hellenic paganism/polytheism is kinda off putting, if only because it means something else to us, and i know many greeks who don't like the use of it as describing spiritual/religious practices, and many who don't know about these things but i guarantee they will still find it weird. And it's in my opinion an unnecessary term, when hellenic polytheism/ paganism exist and work much better.

That's the main argument i have.

Now some other stuff:

Hellenism was used by emperor julian in the 300s CE to describe the old greek/pagan religion and even that, it's more of an assumption from the context/choice of translation if my understanding of the source material is right, which might not be because I'm not an expert in any way in these things. If it was actually referring to the religion, we must still understand that before that, we don't have any similar use of the term, nor was it widespread somehow afterwards. It's very recently that it started being used to describe hellenic polytheism, well after it had started being used by greeks to define themselves, if my understanding is correct and I'm not missing historical info.

Now take this with a grain of salt but

I have seen people mention the term being promoted/ used by the YSEE (you might find them mentioned as the council) which is absolutely not an organization i think you should support or listen to in any way. I'm not going to go into detail for that, and I don't know to what extent they have contributed to the spreading of hellenism used as a term for their religion but I have seen them use it a lot. If i manage to find more info on that i will update the post, but i had to mention it because i really, strongly recommend that everyone stays very far away from them.

Hope that helped somehow. Basically the word means something else for us greeks and it's kinda weird to see it used as the name for hellenic polytheism and truly unnecessary.

on the “you spread false animal abuse allegations,” i can vouch for the fact that the person who sent me the screenshots was NOT temul, however im not completely sure if they had zero part to play. i BELIEVE staff discussed the images before sending them to me, but i dont know 100% so take it with a grain of salt. either way, we do know the screenshots were TAKEN by temul so they maybe they knew? idk, but i dont think we should be publicly speculating/making claims like “u willingly spread these false allegations” because its a lot to do with intent and purpose and we cant really know that stuff.

my thoughts around the animal abuse allegations is that staff didnt have malicious intent (at least going based off my interaction with the person who sent me the screenshots). i think they were unsure how to handle the info and just figured getting it out there would be the best course of action. thats not to say it was, but this is my hypothesis as to their reasoning behind leaking the evidence. that or we could also go along the line of reasoning that they just wanted to take coy down as swiftly as possible, but i think thats a little extreme and i prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to things like this.

i dont agree with a lot of what the person in this message said though, xiao wasnt the only one responsible for the Reckoning, it was multiple mods and their attitudes in the server show that. they wanted to let it burn and now that its “all done” people are trying to find a scapegoat which i think is unnecessary and could be compared to how terra staff acted when banning vinn for being suspected of being the OG blog owner. dont pin the whole thing on just one person, because a lot of dominoes had to fall in order for a catastrophic shitshow like the Reckoning

their point about coy being money hungry is just moot to me, the problem with them continuing to make terra adopts is that they portrayed it like they were leaving the species and relinquishing ownership. its a bit strange to “totally disconnect” yourself from something but then continue to make profit off of it. its not really a scandal for cs mods to make adopts for the cs theyre modding, but it is pretty weird to say that the species causes you great anxiety but then still maintain a connection to it by making adopts and such

with colby's past serious relationship, it's hard to tell what happened or how things played out bc he mostly keeps that info to himself; which is totally understandable. he's let slip some things, like how he was very needy and depended on her a lot and how he wanted to be with her all the time and overall - he was just too much.

the worse thing he's ever said about her is that she was a bit flaky, and in reality he only implied it. he's mostly blamed himself for things falling apart or that it was just draining to be that in love with someone.

this is all my assumption, so take what i say with a grain of salt. i'm just basing my opinion off of things he's said and also a lot of old tweets from back in the day (some of which have been outright deleted but i saved lol): i think he fell madly in love with this girl, and just depended on her too much. i think he came across as needy and clingy, and she pulled back. she didn't love him as much as he loved her, and then eventually things ended. and he spent the next year just being heartbroken and trying to move on. then by 2018, he tried dating again (and by that i mean putting himself out there, not really having any serious relationships), and it went south once again. and he became bitter to love and dating and everything else. which is why he said the infamous quote of "all the girls in la suck". and i think only recently has he "tried" to dip his toes back into actual dating, and not just hooking up. but even then, he's not really trying.

i think his past relationship really hurt him. bc, while i don't think he wanted to marry this girl, i think that's how much love he had for her. hence why he said in his deep q&a "i only want to fall in love that deeply again with someone like my wife". i don't think he wanted to marry her, but i think he saw a future with her when she didn't feel the same way. and when they broke up, her reasonings tied with his past self esteem issues, it all just became a lot for him to process. i mean, he only recently just started to like being by himself and alone alone (ie solo vacations). respectfully, he has a lot of dependence issues. i don't know if that's bc he doesn't feel like he's enough, or if it's something else entirely. but it's clear that he's been hurt a lot in his life, and it effects the way he goes into relationships.

and i'm in the same boat as him lol

i hope in the near future he allows himself to open up to ppl. i know it's hard, but holding that area of his life back and blaming it on work or whatever other issue is never gonna fix what happened. you also can't allow your heart to grow dark. i think he has a lot of love to give, and he shouldn't hide that in fear of getting hurt.

as for his grandfather, he seems to be a bit better now (according to what he posted yesterday), so that's good. obviously the initial shock is a lot. so i hope he eventually goes home to see family and is around them for love and support.

and i pray that next year is nicer to him.

Thank you very much. I read the link and it seems like this is where the claim comes from that Freddie would sometimes learn songs for Jim on the piano after they argued, suggesting that Jim was the one who liked "Send In the Clowns", but who knows, maybe Freddie liked it, too. I could picture the lyrics resonating with him (as discussed in a previous ask), and we know he liked theater music to a certain extent with his love of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Liza Minnelli. I have an issue with this because I think Jim was far from bitter in his public statements about the situation with Mary and Garden Lodge. He could have been so much angrier and railed against her and the entire situation so much more. Being rightfully angry over being horribly mistreated isn't bitterness. But, the collector did clarify that he thought Jim loved Freddie and that any "bitterness" was just as a result of all the shit he went through, so at least he wasn't at all a Jim hater, as opposed to the jerkoffs in the thread doing the whole "FrEdDIE DiDNT LOvE JiM MOst CUZ HE LEft MARy thE HOuse" shit.

Anyway, thanks for the source! I suppose this collector's claims should be taken with a bit of a grain of salt just because, but it seems pretty legit to me, or at least as legit as we could possibly discern

the way that hazuki is literally such a perfect match for joshua is sooo so sickening. they're peers? smth that joshua's been lacking for? forever? joshua who has not allowed himself to connect w the humanity he's always felt connected to inside of him paired with a guy who will absolutely just initiate conversation and whatever if he feels the need to is so. mwah chefs kiss. i dont care that they have exactly (1) interaction its everything. of course it makes sense for joshua to be bitter about the events that hazuki caused but it's also. does he hate hazuki? i dont think so. despite the bitterness he feels it's more complicated than that because after all joshua almost did basically the same thing it's just. he changed his perception before it happened. i just came up with the coolest analysis for Seppuku by Utsu-P im

okay okay so. bit of info, this track (切腹, or Harakiri) is the first on utsuPs album "UNIQUE". it features kagamine rin. idk why i included this but yeah. yeah

onto the meat of the analysis!! heads up i found these translations on a youtube video and i dont know japanese so take this all with a grain of salt. also everything is a THEORY idk the actual meaning yall this is SPECULATION i could be completely wrong

this song is a reflection on how perfectionist our society has become, thanks to the corruption of the government. any little mistake that we make is met with intense backlash, and we find it so important to keep to societys standards. in this song, the level of perfectionism is exaggerated so that the punishment for any mistake, as little as "eating before lunchtime" or being late, is having to commit seppuku. and its even said that over time the enforcement of this policy will only increase. this is in order "to cut off the roots of all evil", aka clear a society of any imperfections using whatever methods the policymakers decide.

the leaders do horrible things to make their society look better. they are willing to kill as many people as necessary to get the best image possible, and this is so commonplace that society has stopped questioning it.

the singer begins to question their society, asking "from whose perspective is it a lie" and "from whose perspective is it a mistake". they come to realize that almost everything their society is built on is a lie, and the enforcers see everything the singer talks of. a rough translation of one line especially emphasizes the singers new perspective: "if you believe in it, then its true. if you dont believe in it, then its a lie."

the singer doesnt want to take responsibility and face the government for figuring out how their society works, so they order themself to commit seppuku. this is what the leaders wanted, and having been watching, they finish the seppuku process with "haishaku", which involves removing the head of the one who committed seppuku.

so overall its a really interesting way to view perfectionism and corrupt governments. utsup is a genius and i love his work. also this is one of the best tracks hes ever made so PLEASE go give it a listen!!

also i have the PERFECT visuals if a group of 3 ever did a live performance of this. kind of like how an idol group dances and sings but less dancing. theres still symbolic movement of course i havent been dancing for 15 years to not add symbolic movement to my ideas. anyways i just really needed to share this

bruv ive been digging for japanese view askewniverse stuff for so long now in my free time and endlessly searching for jp dubs for the movies cuz they do indeed exist (for some of them atleast, some are just subtitled in japanese) but if im able to find the entire dogma jp dub then i think anything is possible

like please for the love of god to my lost media freaks out there to help me find the existence of the clerks netflix jp dub i need to hear japanese dante and randal so bad it hurts my skin

From what ive gathered on my journey are some interesting things:

Dogma, Strike Back, and Reboot have jp dubs (im not too sure on this but i have listened to the dogma and reboot jp dub, strike back seems to have a dub but i dont have access to it since the site that the dub is on is behind a paywall unfortunately)

There was a old jp website dedicated for clerks animated which loosely translates to there being an advertisement for the show in shibuya where they would broadcast the show and give out a prize to anyone attending

clerks 2 seems to have never released in theaters or on dvd in japan and only saw a release on television on a certain channel with subtitles

clerks 2 is called burger shop senki in japan (and i think thats adorable)

chasing amy had a weird popularity in japan which saw the release of a half manga half novel with artwork drawn by moyoko anno (mangaka of sugar sugar rune and wife to the funny evangelion guy hideaki anno)

dogma seemed to have a japanese site made for it as a way to promote the film though unfortunately not archived properly and none of the images load on there sadly :(

Hey Jordan, I'd like to ask you something about mental illness.

Do you ever feel like your mind takes things out of proportion? Like you know for a fact that the things you're thinking about doesn't make any sense but you can't stop think about it. It's not fandom related but there's something that's been on my mind since yesterday that happened months ago and at the time I hadn't given much attention because I knew then and I still know now that what happened wasn't that big, that this scenario my mind is playing is not the one that actually happened.

But since yesterday it's like I'm on a battle with my own mind because I know what I'm imagining is not the real thing but I can't stop thinking about it. Sorry I don't know how to articulate myself but it's so stressful. I've tried to Google what this might be it's hard since I don't know the right words. Maybe it's anxiety but since therapy here is expensive my job can't pay for one and I don't have no one to talk about stuff like this. People might think I'm crazy.

Sorry for the rant but I'm just tired of my own mind.

i know exactly what you are talking about i think. this sounds a lot like obsessive and intrusive thoughts! take everything i say with a grain of salt tho because im not in your brain.

it def sounds like it could be a combo of anxiety, rumination, and intrusive thoughts. BUT i would also say that perhaps this thing that happened that "isn't a big deal" might be a bigger deal than you think or there is a specific reason it keeps coming up. even the smallest things can have a really big effect on our psyche depending on how we internalize them!

this could be obsessive thought patterns from being anxious. or it could be intrusive thoughts(you should be able to google this) that keep popping into your brain unwarranted. or your brain could be trying to tell you this thing that "wasn't a big deal" is actually having some kind of effect on you that you need to work through to move on from it.

those are my general thoughts based on the info you provided. you can feel free to come back to give me more details if you think it'd be helpful but no pressure!

I dont play HI3rd but i have a good general gist of it thanks to my friend who does play it. Now people have been saying that she’s his wife. Im confused and conflicted with that part because from what i know, Tesla is much older than Welt and met him when he was a child.

I paused my work to answer this, so I'm sorry if this is a short answer, but I admittedly don't know much about this and genuinely think it's mostly either just a fan rumor or another weird mistranslation fans took literally, especially as there was never much of a follow up to this that I can remember.
