There's something about the idea that every adult that spends more than ten minutes alone with Steve Harrington is instantly enamored with him
The King Steve era house parties don't get broken up by the cops anymore. Steve is too far from his nearest neighbors for a noise complaint and the cops who would do it like Steve. They know they don't have to worry about any underage drinking and driving incidents after a Steve Harrington party because anyone who doesn't have a DD just crashes at the Harrington place, it's not like they have to worry about getting out of there before his parents get home.
His teachers can't help but let certain things slide. Excusing a middle school Steve's tardiness, the Harrington house is such a long bike ride away from the school and the bus route doesn't reach the grounds of Loch Nora. High School Steve's grades are average at best and his attention drifts, but his questions if poorly worded are insightful at heart and if you catch him away from the friends he tries too hard to keep he's polite and willing to spend time discussing his school work. By senior year they're excusing his tardiness again, they all know he has to swing by the middle school on his way over; and his forgetfulness too, two concussions in as many years it's a wonder he's not worse.
Joyce Byers, who by all accounts should hate this boy who fought her son and belittled her family, already has a snag in her armor thinking about a little boy who used to bike to Melvalds all alone for more milk and the sugar dusted cereal his mother didn't like him to have. Has her walls damaged by Jonathan coming home with a Christmas present they both know Nancy Wheeler even in her middle class glory couldn't afford. Has the adoption papers ready to be notarized when that same little boy, just a little bit bigger, offers to cart her Will around town since he knows she and Jon are busy and he has nothing better to do; really, and Will is the only one that ever says please or thank you.
Hopper, who largely left the everyday police work to the other officers, didn't interact with Steve much until the Upside Down business started. He's ready to add Harrington to the list of kids he'd die to protect the second the bloodstained boy cracks open a bleary eye from the Byers' sofa. Concussed and happy for it since it meant the youngest ones were safe.
Claudia Henderson has decided that the law has little to do with family. She's seen too many young men in the hospital grieving loved ones they can't see while parents who don't care make decisions for the dying. Steve Harrington is hers now has been since he did her Dusty's hair. The Sinclairs only let Erica roam the mall on her own on days they know Steve is working. They know no matter what Erica and Lucas promise the two of them aren't staying together. There's something rotten in Hawkins, and the kids don't whisper as quietly as they think they do. They know there's something they are missing, but they don't need to know everything to know they can trust the boy who put himself bodily in front of their child to protect him. Karen still occasionally mourns the loss of Steve as a son-in-law but the fact that he still drives Mike around even on his surliest days, she couldn't ask for more.
Wayne Munson lasted the longest. A product of night shifts and a powerful wariness around anyone whose tax bracket exceeds his by more than one jump. But he knows the kind of skittish that Steve is, remembers an eight year old boy with eyes he hadn't grown into who used to skitter away from a sharp tongue or raised hand just the same. Even then all it takes is sitting next to Steve on a rare night off, the game fuzzing in and out on the TV, listening to him softly explain the rules of it all to his boy relating it back to the ones of that dragon game Eddie likes so much and he's gone. Steve's a hard worker, a wage slave as much as Wayne these days, seems wrong to begrudge him just cause the house he's kept at is a little bigger than theirs. There are worse boys to have as future in-laws, even if he is a Cubs fan.
The only person who doesn't seem to get the memo is Richard Harrington. So rarely around his own son he isn't swept up in the charm. Richard and Stephanie Harrington make their way back to Hawkins, unannounced on a Tuesday. The sleepy morning hours are still lingering when they make their way into the house, through the foyer, and onto the kitchen; following the sounds of crooning oldies. Richard has long thought his son a disappointment, too lazy to get into college and too spoiled to leave home, catching him dancing around the kitchen like a fairy with some trailer trash punk is really the last straw. He lets the wife he wishes he didn't have make some asinine comment to this freak that's in his kitchen, and turns to the child he never wanted to say, "I want you out, I won't have a queer living under my roof."
Stephanie and that long haired bastard both rear back like they've been slapped. While Richard is forced to watch as the son he's neglected straightens up, every ounce the man every other adult on Hawkins has watched him become, look him in the eye and say, "It's not your house, it never was. Grandpa Otis left it to me. So if you've got a problem with me or my fucking boyfriend, you can get out of my house. Looks like you're already packed."
That empty house gets emptier as Richard, alone, takes the furniture he paid for and the clothes that lingered in the closet; but it's quickly filled with the hand-me-downs of everyone who has ever fallen for that Harrington charm. They're all too happy to help Steve fill what's his.

Idk how Neil doesn’t go mad with power if I had this entire fandom on its knees in my ask box I’d be fucking with everyone by pretending I was dropping a serious ‘hint’ or a spoiler by making up a random sentence of dialogue thats juuuust plausible enough to be believable as a line from S3.
Then I’d watch everyone go insane trying figure out what it meant for years and keep dropping more related ‘hints’ leading everyone down this insane rabbit hole that’s got nothing to do with the actual plot. And when S3 airs and that stuff isnt actually in the show everyone would be raging in my ask box and I’d just say
“I’m an author, I lied.”
And I’d laugh as I ran off into the sunset being chased my pitchforks

I think everyone should have the right to self determined living when it comes to disability. Some people are happier in their own home, some people are happier in a group home, some people may never want to leave their parents house. What matters is that the person chose it for themselves and that they get the support needed to make it happen.

Attuma with the babies - part 1
Listen. I just know Attuma is an extremely involved and supportive husband when it comes to raising his and Okoye's kids.
So just come with me as I write out a few thoughts.
This is based in The Sun & The Sky AU. 💓
My thoughts:
The first time Attuma held the twins, he cried. They were so small and precious. From the moment he saw them, he knew that he'd destroy any and every threat that dared to trouble them. Okoye was given many soft kisses and praises for bringing their kids into the world too. Gentle massages, careful assistance with bathing, and homemade meals. You know, all the good stuff. Anything to help her as she healed and rested. Gotta make sure his sun is shining too. 😌
Anytime their babies would cry, he'd sprint to the scene to hold them and soothe them. Okoye is often impressed by how in tune he is with the twins. Sometimes it seems like he's able to sense their distress before they make an audible cry. Even in the midst of his slumber, he'll wake up and go check on their two bundles of joy.
Whenever Okoye has to breastfeed them, he's there helping and being supportive. Whether he's rubbing her back. Holding her so that she's able to rest in his arms. Or feeding her because she's a bit hungry and her arms are full. He read a lot of books while she was pregnant, so he's constantly rubbing her down with salves he read about to make sure she's never sore after breastfeeding and that she's eating properly to keep producing milk.
And as Okoye begins to observe the changes to her body, postpartum, Attuma is always boosting her head up. She doesn't even get a chance to think any less of herself. He's always praising her, drowning her in love, and gifting her things so that she knows she's just as special as their babies. He'll take care of the kids, so that she can go train a little or have some alone time. He'll even plan little picnic dates for them in the living room, while the twins are sleeping, so the romance stays alive. 🥺 He'll bring her home flowers and a baked treat, every time he comes home from patrolling. Eager to relieve her of any stress, she may be feeling from taking care of the twins all day by herself.
Whenever Okoye is napping, he's always walking around with the babies wrapped securely to his torso. Ever since Aneka showed him how to wrap the babies securely and wear them- he saw it while out and wished to learn- he does it as often as he can. He's a proud father. The twins are his pride and the fruits of his love. Why wouldn't he keep them close?
Everyone finds it cute. Such a large and intimidating man wearing two little babies.
Yes, Aneka and Namora take pictures and send them to Okoye. Shuri has been working on building a super cool stroller to earn the title of Auntie of the Year. It's a hard competition with RiRi in the lab. To their dismay, Oni manages to one up them by giving Attuma more patterned wraps made with a longer and stretchier cloth. (Attuma will carry his babies until they are 4. And even then. He'd just move on to piggyback rides. 😭 He feels that they are safer when they are close. 🥺 But he has to get more creative as he and Okoye's family grows. Imagine him with 12 kids wrapped around him. 💀 Jk. 12 kids is my running joke. It does not have to be canon.)
"Man- I know we didn't just get one upped by a piece of fabric." RiRi scowled as Oni and Attuma talked.
Namora was proud of her wife, shooting a small glare at RiRi. "You did. Accept it."
"Those praises do not fall on you. You're just as crappy of an aunt as us." RiRi huffed before laughing when Namora gently nudged her and rolled her eyes.
"He's a simple man." Shuri groaned. "I should have listened to K'uk'ulkan."
"He'll come around." Aneka gently pet them on the back. "You're crazy if you think he's only having two kids with udade. Your inventions will come in handy eventually."
"She is right." Namora hummed. "We all aspire to have big families."
The funny thing about Attuma wearing the twins is that they are so small that they're both able to be strapped to the front of his chest. As they get older, the less chaotic of the twins get to chill in the front. (They don't try to grab ingredients or kick things while he'd cooking. Safety first people.) It's okay. He often gives his toddler on his back pieces of cut fruit to keep their spirits lifted and help them feel involved.
Okoye is always amused to see him talking to the twins while cooking and running errands, even though they're tiny and unable to process what he's saying.
"We are making K'iin food. K'iin means sun." He whispered. "K'iin is your mother. Na' is how you say mother." He'd remind them. "We must make sure she stays bright and healthy." He'd say as he chopped up some ingredients. "So we are making her soup to help her heal, because having two babies took a toll on her. She needs lots of food and rest so that she can continue to be the best mother she already is to both of you." He smiled behind his rebreather. "We will start by cutting up these carrots-"
"Ah." One of the babies would sound out.
"-Yes." He'd grin before pressing a soft kiss into the infant's head. "And we'll add onions, peppers, and chicken. Na' like corn, so we have to add it too."
Sometimes he'll sing to them in mayan. It's not a tune that's laced with strong suggestions like the one he'd drown his enemies with. It's often a song his mother would hum to him when he was small. Something he was happy to pass down to his own children.
And that concludes Part 1. ♡
p.s. I feel like the first set of twins would be identical boys. And they'd end up being mama boys (in a healthy way), because Attuma raised them to respect women. 😤 So, yeah.

the reason ineffable bureaucracy worked is they dont have 6000 years of resistence to love to work out. they dont have that baggage of years and years of saying something else instead of what they truly want to. the reason that ineffable bureaucracy worked is because they talked, they knew what each other wanted. did they deserve it??? i dont know, some people say they do and some people say they dont. we dont even know if gabriel or beelzebub felt like they deserved it. but its what they wanted. they took what they wanted and it was each other. and they both agreed that everything else is worth being torn to shreds to have one another's love. did aziracrow ever do that??? did they ever tell each other that they wanted each other to stop pretending in all that time??? did they decide to give a name to the feelings they had for one another??? not really until the end. they had milleniums together. but they had to dance around so many loopholes, danced around so many different excuses, glanced down to hide the love in their eyes. beelzebub and gabriel gave in to the consuming love they felt. aziraphale and crowley didnt, not until it was all too late. crowley was right to say that it was always too late. thats why they ended up breaking their hearts. it was always too late.

If you had the chance to change something about the dance of the dragons (TV show or book), what would it be? For example, how a character dies, which team a house is on,or an entire character personally. How would you change it to make the story better, in your opinion?♥️🖤💙💚
Well, I'd mainly address my pet peeves:
relay the legal arguments for succession in a clearer way, make sense between what is a valid legal argument and what is personal ambition (my entire blog is full of this complaint);
a fairer distribution of allies;
military strategies and battles that make more sense: no self-raising zombie Riverlands army, Aemond's Riverlands storyline, the Lady Sam problem etc.
Other than that, as much as my reptile brain wants Aegon II to rule, I think the Aegon III + Jaehaera ending is a pretty fair way to conclude the conflict. I would cut the Daenaera storyline, which I find unnecessarily problematic, and balance out the regents and the new court between the greens and the blacks.
Also, honestly, Tyland and Alicent don't need to die because of Westerosi COVID, that's too much of a heavy-handed way to wipe the slate clean for my tastes. How about make them the new stand-in parents for the child monarchs.

Factoids for GO Fanfiction: Common Law Marriage
Common law marriage is a legal concept wherein if two people live together, act like they're married, and everyone in the local community thinks they're married, then they are legally married. (this is clearly a summary that overlooks legal nuance by anyways)
This was the law of the land in England until Lord Hardwicke's Act, called the Clandestine Marriages Act of 1753. The act did not apply to Scotland, however, and for many years thereafter couples went north across the border to thwart the ban. Scotland continued to honor common law marriages until the passage of the Family Law (Scotland) Act in 2006: see Section 3: Abolition of marriage by cohabitation with habit and repute.
Anyways. If you were planning on writing a story about the Ineffable Husbands being married without knowing they were married or having a proper wedding, here's some legal context for how that could have happened and the timeline/geography it would have to fit.

i enjoy nicki and meg. they’re my favorite female rappers. & i don’t have to much to say on the lyrical part of this beef just because it’s rap. they’re getting back to their roots lmao. at least it’s between two women who can ACTUALLY rap. anyway, i find it very heinous of nicki minaj to go on twitter & (whatever radio station app she uses) to talk about megan’s traumatic events to her extremist parasocial fanbase so they can harass meg literally for the rest of her life. i think why i find it so heinous bc nicki opened up about her domestic violence trauma with the rapper meek mill on queen radio & twitter about 4 years ago and played out the whole protect black women shtick from then until now. if it really was protect black women would you have to go to the extent your going to. like in 2018-2019 yk what it felt like to be hated by the world. you had a BIG hate train. meg experienced her hate train in 2023. yk what it feels like to be unprotected why would you put her through the same positions if it’s protect black women? & don’t even get me started on the black woman thing like you stamped yourself as the multiracial lightskin black girl. to be black but not really black. looking trinidadian, japanese, and indian! like you’re nicki minaj get a gripppp. your influence and catalogue is way more than arguing with these young adult woman. you’re convicted rapist husband and now registered sex offender, gang affiliated, gutterbutt husband already took years from your lifespan pls don’t damage it further.
