Delphox Facts

-The scientific name for Delphox is "Vulpes Mystica" which translates to "Magic Fox"

-Delphox are vulpines, and their closest relatives are Ninetales and Thievul

-Delphox have the second longest lifespan of any foxmon, being able to live for hundreds of years. The first ones for that spot is Ninetales and Hisuian Zoroark, who are able to live for 1,000 years

-In the wild, Delphox can be found in Kalosian forests, deserts, and chapparals. They make their homes in large caves or dens

-Delphox have a large personality shift from Braixen, becoming more calm and collected instead of temperamental and moody

-While all vulpines are intelligent, Delphox's use of sticks for magic may show that they're the smartest amongst the vulpines

-Delphox can go up to a week without water (give them water regularly though, it's still not pleasant for them)

-Delphox's large ears help them regulate their body temperature and give off excess heat. It also makes them doubly perceptive, enhancing their psychic abilities

-While Delphox are solitary, they sometimes come in groups to practice their psychic abilities and meet with other Delphox and Braixen

*Kyoko intentionally crashed the car on the curb and died because Tohru didn't tell her "be safe", just wanted to heavily guilt trip her for the rest of Tohru's life, succeeded.

*Shigure has an "Asian fetish", he, himself, is Asian.

*Kyo and Shigure have a heavy ass foot fetish, tried biting their partners' feet like cats and dogs go ham on their toe beans, it just hurt.

Anytime he gets the "other form of payment", he calls the girls' parents and snitches on them, (not about the drugs, just the payment, because he wants them to become addicted) and he says they lied about their age (even tho they're wearing full on high school uniforms). His cartel is his way of earning, fuck the writing. His secretary or whatever that bitch is, is his main distributor.

*Kisa's mutism is just bullshit; she doesn't open her mouth because it's always filled with vapor, and she can't let her mom find out.

*Rin neighs instead of moaning, gets super pumped up when they do cowgirl position, "I'm your cowgirl daddy" type of bullshit, turns Haru off in an instant, he can't really say shit, she still provides him with K.

*Hatori, Shigure and that third ponytail woman had LSD mixed with DMT, had a 10 hour trip that felt like 5 years, fully made up the Hatori's ex fiance character, it was actually just a rock.

*Tohru is stone cold sober, she just has an IQ of Theodore the Chipmunk. Thinks this is a daily occurrence.

Man morale is pretty low for these early rehearsals of Oh Rama Havenna….

Poor Suzu seems to have had his confidence shot after not being able to play Jean Jose for the Fall Performance and, while he is proud of Sou, I think he was more affected by the replacement than he lets on…I mean yeah, he’s the one who asked Sou to replace him then. But I think seeing how marvelously Sou did, and now hearing Sou get all this massive praise and talk about becoming a Jack Ace, hit Suzu hard. Because we know he wants to be a Jack Ace and we also know he enjoys acting alongside Kisa. And Suzu was the one getting that same praise prior to his injury relapse…And now, once again, he’s being asked to act as a character seemingly so unlike who he is as a person, which is affecting his performance and also bringing back Utsuri’s criticism from back then where he said Suzu has a narrow range.

Kai seems to be under the impression that he’s a failure of a Jack and him being delegated to a smaller role than normal probably isn’t helping matters.

And then there’s Mitsuki who is…honestly, I think he’s gonna break at this rate. Singing is his specialty and so far his roles haven’t been to big so he doesn’t do much in terms of dancing or acting. But now he’s an Al Jeanne alongside Kisa. And his stamina can’t keep up with the dancing and his acting is being constantly critiqued since he’s a lead, which in turn is affecting his singing…

Meanwhile Kisa has a problem I didn’t expect but am now surprised I didn’t see coming. In that she’s having trouble playing a female role. Which you think would be weird because Kisa you ARE a girl, what???? But yeah, she’s been pretending for several months now and her past two roles have been as Jacks where she had to further shove down her feminine qualities. So now that she’s being asked to be a Jeanne again, she’s out of habit and I think is having trouble bringing out something that’s no natural and a normal part of her after spending so long suppressing it.

So yeah, wow, this is probably the lowest Quartz’s mood has been during rehearsals to date…

Anyways as a semi side note, despite not even being done with my first route of the game the Jack Jeanne brain rot has struck hard. I already told you guys before that the music impressed me so much I ordered both the vocal collection and the mini shuffle album. Well…I also went and ordered the art book of the game as well as two light novels that were released for it as well!

“Wait, Willow, the novels are in Japanese. Can you read those???”

Millie is left reeling from Trostani's betrayal.

News of Trostani’s betrayal had reached every corner of Ravnica. The dryad was allegedly still in a trance following the revelation of Oba’s slaughters, and the Selesnya had attempted to carry on, business-as-usual.

Millie, meanwhile, retreated from their duties to the Conclave. They hadn’t been very active to begin with – it was their parents who had been dutiful members – but now, the half-elf’s involvement was nil. They spent their days in silence, contemplating endlessly.

The shapeshifter hopped off the trash can he had been sitting on, perched in the form of a cat. He padded over to the fence and squeezed between the bars, entering the house via a cat door (how many times had he reprimanded Millie for leaving such an obvious opening to their house?). Then, he manifested in his most common form, behind his partner. The half-elf was staring into a cup of tea, totally absorbed in thought.

Lazav returned to Millie’s home shortly after Oba was exposed. He had laid low, trying to solve the murders for himself, but that damn waste-of-space agency had beaten him to it. The Invasion had left his skills rusty, it seemed.

“Millichika,” he said gently, laying a hand on their shoulder. They hardly responded, and Lazav felt a strange pang deep in his chest – for all his arcane wisdom, he couldn’t place the sensation clawing beneath what would have been his ribcage. “Millichika. Your tea is cold.”

They blinked, tilting the tea toward themself, and their button nose twitched. “I forgot all about it,” they admitted, pushing it aside. Their gray-green eyes, usually bright and sparkling with good cheer, were puffy and red. “I’m sorry.”

“Trostani,” they replied flatly. “Selesnya. The whole damn thing.” They rubbed their swollen eyes. “I… I’ve been thinking, since you’ve been gone. I might… I think I’m going to resign from the Conclave.”

“You have no reason to apologize.” Lazav swept his cloak back and sat across from them at the table. “Tell me what troubles you, kisa.”

Lazav titled his head. “And why is that?” he prodded. Admittedly, he’d never expected Millie to even consider such a thing. They were a predictable kind of person – most of the time.

Millie’s typically even temperament flared for a brief moment, but they quickly collected themself. “Oba. She… she’s betrayed us all. Not just the Conclave. All of Ravnica was hurt by her, and now she just gets to – to run away? To hide behind her sisters and Emmara?” Their eyes darkened. “And the Conclave acts like nothing happened. Oh, just play nice with each other. We’re the guild of harmony, we can’t acknowledge that Trostani is a murderer.” Millie sniffled. “And we’re supposed to believe she’s the true voice of Mat’Selesnya. That she gives a damn about Ravnica. No, she’s selfish.” They paused. “I never felt all that close to the Conclave anyway. Elves and humans aren’t supposed to mix, but here I am. They all tried to be nice, but I’ve always been an outsider. Even in the guild that’s supposed to be about peace and acceptance. I’ve never fit in.”

That strange feeling prickled under Lazav’s skin again, and he realized what it was – sorrow, for Millie. Belief was such a fickle thing; that, he knew well. All it took to make a knot of religion come apart was to pull at one specific string.

The half-elf stared out the window, where Vitu-Ghazi stood proud in the distance. “We’re taught to believe in Trostani, you know. To be completely, totally devoted to her. I… I already struggled with that devotion. But now, it’s gone. I think of her and I feel bitter. But…” Millie swallowed hard. “I want to leave, but my association with the Conclave… it’s the last thing I have from my parents.” Hot tears brimmed in their eyes, and Lazav couldn’t help but reach across the small table and cup their cheek in one hand. “If I leave the Conclave, follow my heart, I won’t have anything left from them. If I stay, I’ll stay bitter, and I’ll never be happy.” Millie’s eyes flickered suddenly. “Actually, I think… I think I know what I’m going to do. Thank you for listening, Zava.”

They stood from the table, nearly stumbling over Vasily and Murka on their way to the bedroom. When they returned a few moments later, Millie was fastening the last buttons on their heavy tartan coat. “I’ll be back soon.”

“Do you want me to come with you?”

“I need to do this alone. But thank you.” Millie paused at the door. “If you’re thinking of sending a spy bug after me, I can’t stop you. But… I’d really like it if I could just. Do this by myself. I need to.”

“I understand.” Lazav nodded to them. “Go, kukolka. I’ll be waiting for you.”

Millie arrived at Vitu-Ghazi some twenty minutes later. It was early afternoon, a busy time for the Conclave, so they were able to weave through the crowd, avoiding prying questions and doubting glares. They came to the council chamber, where a centaur guard was snoring outside.

Emmara Tandris looked up, and the gaze of her fellow council members fell upon Millie. There were harsh whispers and inquisitive yet accusatory stares. The half-elf felt their ears warm, but they did their best to stand tall. “Guildmaster Tandris, I need to speak to you.”

Millie opened the doors as quietly as possible and slipped inside so as not to disturb the slumbering guardian.

“Approach,” the elf replied, despite the murmurings of her chorus.

The low-ranking guild member stepped forward, keeping their chin held high. “I…” Millie’s throat felt dry, but they forced themself to speak. “I am resigning from the Conclave. I can’t follow Trostani any longer. And I can’t stand and watch the rest of the Conclave behave as nothing is wrong.”

Emmara’s face was painfully sympathetic and serene, and it almost made Millie want to vomit. “I understand,” she responded gently.

“You know what this means, Guildmaster,” a Conclave crony said. Millie knew what it meant, too.

The high priest of the Conclave sighed softly, and reached out to touch Millie’s hand, which they allowed. Even if they couldn’t believe in Trostani, Millie could appreciate Emmara. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, before raising her voice so the rest of the council could hear. “Milena Laska, you are exiled from Vitu-Ghazi. You may shop at our stalls; you may be healed at our sanctuaries. But you may never step foot in the Guildhall again.”

“I understand,” Millie echoed. “Thank you.”

They turned and left without another word, passing the still-slumbering guard. Millie felt like they were lost in a daze, stumbling through Vitu-Ghazi and out into the cold winter air.

Instead of taking a carriage, Millie walked the entire way home.

“How did it go?” Lazav asked as soon as Millie stepped inside.

“Better than I thought,” they admitted. “Exiled from the Guildhall, but that’s really it.”

“Hmm.” Lazav crossed his arms. “Guildmaster Tandris is a naive fool, but she’s a kind fool.”

“I imagine you say the same thing about me.”

“Only because you won’t close up the cat door.”

“Even if I want to go to Hellbender?”

“Zava,” Millie sighed heavily, and Lazav couldn’t help but smirk a bit. They knew he was teasing – though he considered that now was not the time, and backed off.

“Should we do something tonight, to keep your mind off things?”

“I’ll go get changed and do my makeup.” On their way by, Millie leaned down and kissed his cheek. “Thank you. For everything, really. You’ve shown and taught me so much.”

“Yes, even if you want to go to Hellbender.”

“You flatter me, kisa. Now, why don’t you go put on the nice red dress I bought you? I’d like to see it again. We’ll have dinner, I’ll accompany you to Hellbender…”

“You’ll dance with me at Hellbender,” Millie corrected.

Lazav ceded the point with a slight nod. “We’ll have a nice night. You and I.”

“I’m counting on it.” One more kiss, and then they disappeared into their bedroom.

Lazav felt pride surge in his chest. His Millie had freed themself from the confines of the Selesnya; and now they could be whomever they wanted, the master of their own fate – at his side, of course.

The dragon roared, its wings opening wide as it flew by moonlight into focus. The enemies before it trembled in terror as its eyes gleamed.

"Go! Burst Stream of Destruction!"

The dragon roared, rearing its head back as a bright beam of light shot out.

His life points dwindled to 0 in a matter of seconds. Everything was a faulty defense against this creature… this deck.

"You are not playing like yourself tonight." The chat pinged, as he checked his notifications.

The icon to the right depicted a young girl with white hair and bright blue eyes, grinning at the camera.

"What's wrong?"

Online dueling, at least meant no such thing as a "limited" card, if you were willing to play the long con with the gacha technique… and for Seto, he thought he did pretty well.

"YOU'RE A HYPOCRITE!"

"Today was a bad day, Kisa."

At least one person was willing to talk to him tonight. He played the online ranks mostly for practice for his tournament builds, before buying any new cards or going through his collection.

He was grateful, he at least had one friend via this game.

He pinched the bridge of his nose. He was not looking forward to explaining this one.

"What happened?"

"I don't wanna talk. Just wanna duel."

this scene had a beautiful CG but this is the line that actually gut punched me. mitsuki's whole arc is about vulnerability and trust, metaphorically shown through the way he always sets boundaries by dressing in private, displayed in the way he is taking down his own emotional walls of his own accord for this one person but is hurt through the process, and emphasized by how kisa herself is bound to her secret and cannot return that trust back to him.

it is unfair and yet he always makes the effort to go back to the status quo. "no I was in the wrong, just give me a moment to collect myself, I will maintain this relationship even if that means accepting that I can't be relied on with some things and moving past the hurt this causes me. we will steer this relationship back to safer boundaries. I will be okay. please wait for me."

their relationship is written in such a tender, intimate way too and it's just. it hurts, but it's lovely

and I'm not really on his route so I'm doing his events a bit late, so there's this extra hurt of all of this happening in my playthrough while neji gives quartz the meanest casting he's ever done and he puts a lot of responsibility on mitsuki as the al jeanne? I have a theory about Bruno and the “prophecies” from “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”

So we know from the end of the movie that Peppa’s “Prophecy” wasn’t a prophecy, it was just Bruno trying (and failing) to reassure his sister on her wedding day. My theory is that none of the “Prophecies” in the song were actual prophecies.

I saw a Tiktok that said they think the gifts came with more than just the outright obvious gift but more subtle gifts as well. Like Camilo’s shapeshifting also allows him to properly pretend to be someone else, automatically knowing their habits and small things someone wouldn’t notice without having to observe someone. Or Delores having super hearing but also having the ability to fine tune and focus on specific things as well as tune others out and understand everything she is hearing and know what it is (what’s that whirring sound? Oh it’s a fly that’s about 2.4 miles away.) as well as Isabella having a vast knowledge of botany, knowing everything about any plant she grows.

But this is about Bruno, not the rest of the family, so what I think his “extra gift” is is perception. Yes, he can create actual prophecies for anything but I think there are certain things he can just look at, run the math in his head, and be able to give you an accurate prediction without having to go through the whole process. After all, look at his room, it’s clearly set up for a que line, meaning people were lining up to get a prophecy from him, and I can’t imagine how draining it would be to have to do the entire shebang for every person in line. I think most people came in with a question, and he was able to logically give them the outcome after a little questioning, similar to how a fortune teller might but his are more accurate.

We already know that’s kind of what Peppa’s wedding day was, so we can apply this to the other lines as well. “He told me my fish would die, the next day? DEAD!” Her fish was probably sick or not looking too good, so she asked Bruno if he thought the fish would get better, and Bruno, upon observing the fish, probably told her something like “I don’t think your fish will live to see tomorrow unless you get it to a vet.” And all she heard was the first part, and assumed it was hopeless to try and save her fish.

“He told me I’d grow a gut, and just like he said!” This one’s open to a bit more interpretation on how the interaction went, but possibly He approached Bruno while eating and Bruno made a joke saying “You keep eating like that and you’ll have a gut in no time”. Thus making the guy think he was given a prophecy when he did indeed get fat.

“He said that all my hair would disappear now look at my head!” I think this one is honestly just male pattern baldness. Like I think he asked Bruno if his hair would stay or go, and Bruno, knowing his family had a history of MPB, told him it would probably go away, and sure enough, it did.

“He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine. He told me that my powers would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine!” Isabella’s is a bit more vague than the others, so I think she, as a small child, kept pestering her uncle for a prophecy, and to satisfy her, he told her “one day you will have the life you always dreamed” knowing she was especially favored by Abuela and therefore most likely to get anything and everything she wanted. She probably prodded more, asking about what powers she would get, and he was able to accurately guess similar to how Mirabel predicted Antonio’s gift (she gave him a stuffed animal and said “I know you like animals”). He saw she liked flowers and plants, and told her (in a cryptic way adults do when talking to a kid and trying to be mysterious and fun) “Your power will grow like the grapes that thrive on a vine”

“He told me that the man of my dreams would be just out of reach; betrothed to another!” I actually think Delores’ prophecy was given to her later in life, after Bruno had “left”. We already know she knew he was there the whole time based on her earlier line in the song “I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling” and the end of the movie when she confirmed she did indeed know he was there. We also know he was watching his family from inside the walls and keeping watch over them. When Mariano started coming around, I think Bruno noticed Delores’ feeling for him, but also noticed that Abuela was thinking he would be a perfect match for Isabella, and said as much out loud. Maybe not with the intention of telling Delores, but she heard nonetheless, and gave up even trying.

So yeah, I don’t think any of the predictions in the song were actual prophecies as much as self-fulfilling prophecies, where he told someone how something was likely to go, and they made it go that way by thinking it WAS a prophecy.

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 111

sigh~~~ I feel that my recent posts are a bit negative towards the anime, but thats cuz the chapters I’ve read so far are either unbelievably important character depth content cut for no valid reason or content in the anime but packed with million other things that it lost its purpose or importance. Basically tohu’s ep 6 which consists of 4 chapters & now ep 5 which is a momiji ep & yup, packed with 4 chapters as well... so, I apologize for any negativity, my intention is just analyzing artistic & story-telling aspects, I love se03, but yeah it screwed up lots of important characters due to its not so thorough plot decisions & harmful character insight choices.

today.. we explore Momiji... but only before his curse breaks.

Furuba anime struggling to know how to design an episode based on various plot-heavy chapters?

so, they decided 13 eps, & decided one ep for momiji cuz motoko’s graduation & the fanclub is the core of the furuba & have already cut tons of tohru, cuz who cares? she’s kind. be like her. end of lesson. No. really, jokes aside, how to do this?

How to combine several chapters in one ep? collect small snippets from chosen chapters/content like a bee does flowers? you gotta skip some content, you gotta highlight others. The ep is only 20 min after all & you got an op & Ed that you cant always skip.... so.. furuba team decide that momoji’s ep should be true to his zodiac animal, this is the rabbits last appearance in spirit. so, they went with quick hopping from one chapter to the other like a rabbit?

No really, ep 5 is really like a rabbit in its flow, you can’t savior a moment enough before jumping to the other: we learned momiji grew up!! loves toheu romantically, challenged kyo, really meant it, wanted a fair love game, got freed, lost tohru romantically & faced momiji! but that’s not all? we still have space!! quick add akito’s moodiness & love triangle with her dog & her submissive bed partner, add a happy comedy for no reason whatever & make shigue kiss tohru & wish shes 'was his lover instead!!!!!!!!! Mind you all this happened in the anime before shigure hurt tohru with his “the truth of the zodiacs talk & them accepting & feeling consolance that kyo is doomed”talk.

-Gets whats my biggest surprise after reading this chapter ?????????

Shigure is consistent!! He isnt a rabbit hopping here & there. The dog is loyal & is tired for good reason! Him being depressed & his weird talk with thoru makes so much sense given the manga’s order.

Kyo is consistent!! In the anime, momiji surprise him with confession he loves tohru & challenge him, then kyo la~la~la~joins them downstairs for curry. Not a single expression on his face, where is the expression? it will appear when the plot is forced to address it: by the end of the ep when momiji face hin again. Then we get kyo’s reaction.

I need someone to tell the anime that actions require a reaction. You can refrain from showing a certain reaction if you can’t address it now, but you can’t erase it, negate it, then make it appear when have to!!!! couldn’t they make kyo refuse to join them & eat together? the other characters wont be surprised they think he’s needlessly moody. The audience will know that kyo is troubled with momiji’s challenged & it will excite them!!! having kyo just go eat & watch the momiji/hiro/haru/yuki comedy skit is weird.

The manga’s author wanted kyo to join the dinner, like the anime did. but huge difference. the author actually cares for logic reaction & understands that the audience aren’t dumb little kids that will sit & wait for kyo’s turn to...react! nope! she did this: (a) & (b) below.

-Lost Small Bits/ Panels from the chapter.. But Sadly Big Huge Chunks for Characters buildup & Growth:

(a) addressed the fact the hiro noticed kyoru is in love & dressed that shigure was right!! the cat being in love is a weird concept to the zodiacs! hiro reacted naturally & the author used hiro to flesh yuki’s (the rat), momiji’s (the rabbit) & haru’s (the cow) decision to silently watch the kyo (the cat) makes his own decisions to live!!! They won’t interfere or tell akito or remind him of his state as the doomed caged cat. So sad this moment is cut from yuki. Why must yuki only interact with kyo to beat him (all seasons)? why must yuki only think of kyo to envy him (all seasons) ? Here, yuki’s growth towards kyo as a person & his relationship with tohru is 1000 times better than all tohru is my mom’s sh!t & I envy kyo’s Sh!t we saw in the anime over & over till we memorized it.

(b) kyo didnt just go la~la~eat with momiji after knowing he loves tohru. Nope, there’s small bits missing: called logical emotional reaction. He was surprised he’s caught pining over tohru! cuz yuki, the audience representative, has told us in the previous chapter that ppl in love dont notice anything around them. Kyo thinks him being cold hid his feelings. the dummy’s feelings are as bright as the sun in the Sahara, tohru too. a child read her! such small thing that wont take much space from the ep but was cut cuz kyo only needs to be responsive at the ep’s end. & this scene of kyo & tohru looking awkwardly at each other is minor in space but so important cuz kyo is determined to let go but his decision is challenged by not only momiji, but his natural attraction to tohru. Here he knows he’s caught & exposed... here he knows momiji is a better choice for tohru cuz he wont didn’t hurt her mom... here he knows that even yuki is better cuz never had to pretend to be cold to her... here he knows the world is better than him... & here he just cant help by smile & walks towards her... T_T ... another lesson in writing slow burns by Takaya-san.

-Why would the anime team pass on this?? drawing kyoru closer after the epic tear in Cinderella ep, cuz they want empty suspense~! The anime team thinks that if kyo & tohru stand next to each other, then it means all their issues are solved & the audience are so stupid as to forget tohru’s mom, kyo’s imprisonment, kyo not confessing his sins to tohru & tohru’s need to make a choice wether to fogive hom or not.. nope! you see, they think, ppl who read mangas are smart, so the author can give this epic symbolism & pp would still be not sure kyoru is end game & tohru will forgive him or kyo even fogive himself, but ppl who watch, oh no, gotta cut all the plot worthy content, produce a graduation song for a minor character, cut all kyo/tohru interaction cuz it only means romance & not at all character depth & oh if we show yuki actually formulating deep thoughts that aren’t centered around him, the audience might forget his se02 struggles! or that might ruin yuki’s upcoming growth moment in the finale where he .. you guessed it hits kyo.. as he always do & sulk & think abt himself cuz yuki can only do monologues when he’s directly involved.... man~it is so sad how the anime is dumped down.. Who is the target audience again? not kids as young as hiro cuz even hiro is smart!

-just look:

Momiji talks abt kyo shouldn't give up loving tohru & the authr shows this this ghost!!! his mom! The author reminds us that kyo isnt da~~~~ forgetting anything. He’s a deeply troubled soul & hos mom wants him locked cuz she too was locked in a cage & thinks that’s safer...why oh why you dump ur own story! sh!t~

Side Notes:

I like the closeups on Kisa’s face as she interacted with kyo. It’s very rare for kisa to have a world beside the endearing parental/big protective bro/big doting sister love she has with tohru & haru & off course the romantic love with hiro which was perhaps since their birth or sth. lol. Kisa & kyo arent much on the brotherly side as they rarely interact, but its one of those refreshing interactions she has that helps cast a new light on her as tiny as it is, but its sth out of the norm around her. She sees him around tohru & gets to perceive his true unprovoked character. “He is nice guy”.

I really wanted to punch kureno this chapter.. like Shigure is a jerk shitty dog for sleeping with akito’s mom but kureno... dude.. you submissively sleep with the guy’s eternal love interest & still walks in on him talking to her!!! lol. you’re mentally, emotionally & physically weaker than him & yet, she puts you on her bed, not him & you, tho not wanting her at all, dont walk away. No wonder shigure is defeated & wishing for someone like tohru, lol! Even if shigure met an older tohru-like person, it wont work. shigure deserve someone like him mean, schemer & loves playing power games. Tohru is someone who values honesty & commutation, not saying she’s an angel on earth, but tohru knows who suits her.. except fate is saying: NO. .... currently. lol.

I know kureno’s weakness is part of his character & I love that such characters exits. There are ppl ike that in real life. It’s just this chapter, I felt shigure’s frustration. XD

Yuki in this ep is the best yuki. no exaggeration here, I love when yuki is calmly thoughtful of others & here its kyo of all ppl !!!! cutting this scene is sad.. without it, kyo & yuki remain a cat & rat in the anime. Only ever thinking abt each other thro envious binoculars or hateful words or yuki giving kyo comedic hitting or life’s problem-solving hitting. Why can’t anime yuki be interactive outside his self-centered issues is beyond me.

Momiji & kyo’s interactions are always the best! whether comedy or drama.

I hated the curry cooking scene in the anime... so weirdly out of the ep’s flow.. very forced comedy... in the manga it had a purpose! not just quick add comedy cuz next shot momiji curse breaks & drama & we’ll close the ep with tears & sadness & glimpses of hope...

I love haru’s answer to hiro... so him.. “a guy can’t fall in love?”so chill.. so..simple.

Just finished both the Summer Performance and summer break in Jack Jeanne! This game continues to be a ton of fun! Also way more romantic than I originally thought! I know I said last time I prefer more romance in my otome than what I’ve been getting so far but there’s actually a really nice amount of romance (despite the fact Kisa hasn’t been revealed yet). Though I wonder if that’s just because it’s Suzu I’m going after or it’s a matter of my personal preference regarding the romance or something? Anyways I’m having a blast!

I really enjoyed Weekend Lesson, I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as The Sleepless King but I got so caught up in it. That’s something I find so enjoyable about Jack Jeanne’s writing. That the writing for the story is already easy to get invested in and enjoyable, but the in universe plays are just as easy to get invested in! Like I wanna know how things work for Kisa and the boys but I also end up being eager to see how things turn out for their play characters and wanna know where their stories go too! Like in Weekend Lesson I got so into Hasekura and Ando’s relationship and was truly moved by their last dance in the play. And I loved seeing Kisa’s take on Mukai (which by the way my girl was FANTASTIC in her first ever Jack role, she earned that gold individual performance award) especially how she changed it last second and still managed to make it work. Also Louis was fun and I’m glad my boy Suzu got an award at last (still annoyed his role as the king in the last play wasn’t awarded though). Also like I said last time I really am seeing Sou getting slowly more frustrated at not being acknowledged or performing at the level Kisa and Suzu are. I think he just needs to get the right role to really shine so I’m hoping whatever the Fall Performance is will give him that.

Based on the instrumentals during the practices I thought Ms. Robin would be my favorite of the three songs but as it turns out We the Great Galleon came out of nowhere and planted itself in my brain. It’s sooooo catchy!!!! And no, I swear that’s not just my Suzu bias at work here 😂 (although once again my boy knocked it out of the park with those vocals) the song itself is really freakin’ good! I can’t wait for my copy of the Jack Jeanne vocal collection to come home! By the way I found out that earlier this year they also released a mini album that has the characters shuffle their roles for a couple songs. I listened to the previews for Fortune Color is Crystal and We the Great Galleon (avoided the others since I haven’t reached them in the game yet and I wanna go in blind) and loved them so much I ordered that album too (it was kinda expensive since it was apparently a limited release but I managed to snag a copy)! Ms. Robin was so pretty and I was so impressed by the song being completely in English, Mitsuki and Kisa did so well! Compass Line was simply gorgeous in both vocals and choreography (Kai and Fumi killed it) and would have easily been my number one if We the Great Galleon wasn’t the catchiest song ever!

Now that I’ve gotten more time to know the characters in Onyx and Rhodonite, I adore them! They’re so refreshing in that yeah they’re all super competitive and striving for the top in this famous theater school, but they’re all also such genuinely sweet people? And super funny I love seeing their antics! I don’t think I have a favorite among them, I sincerely enjoy whenever any of them pop up because they’re all so enjoyable as characters! Mare, Yuki, and Eita are so funny. Tsukasa has such a pleasant way of talking and poor Minorikawa eternally suffers. Ion is so funny and voiced by a favorite VA of mine. Kaido is such a surprising sweetie and Kasai is so interesting. Toichi and Dante are hilarious, and I like how mellow Sugachi is. All this makes me more and more curious to finally meet the members of Amber, we get such brief encounters and mentions of them they’re really building it up. Welp we’ll probably finally get them for the Fall Performance so I can’t wait to see how they’re like, especially compared to their freaky looking plays 😂

The summer break was nice, got to see some nice new backgrounds and classic summer fun! Also got to see my first year Quartz darlings growing as actors by learning about interpretations of roles! The scenes between Suzu and Kisa in both the test of courage and the hot springs managed to be as adorable as they were funny. And that kayak scene!!!! I really did pick the perfect boy, I love him so much!!!!

Anyways before I get to the Fall Performance I actually went and started the game over (yeah doesn’t that sound familiar 😅😅😅) because I learned that if you keep Kisa’s name as is instead of changing it her name will be voiced in the scenes. So I literally am speeding through so I can enjoy having Kisa’s name voiced in the playthrough. At least I get to see some new random events as I go through it all again! Hopefully I can speed through and get back to where I was tonight and then continue my playthrough tomorrow! ✌️

Just had some headcanons about Machi pop into my head that I wanted to share with yall. So we know this poor girl struggles with "perfect"/neat things right? Well I was thinking about some healthy coping mechanisms she could develop to replace the whole 'breaking property/living in a dump' thing & here's what I got so far -

1. She always tries to wear odd socks (unless she's invited somewhere nice)

2. Ayame & Mine help her find cool asymmetrical stuff to wear, how to make clashing colours/patterns work for her & teach her how to sew up her old clothes in a more "punk rock" way (after Yuki & Kakeru explain some of her issues with perfection)

3. Tohru gently points out that she dosn't have to tie her laces the same way on both shoes if she dosn't want to

4. Haru & Rin (awkwardly on her part) teach her the power of acessorising (ie. wearing only one earing, putting on an uneven amount of bracelets/rings/necklaces, adding paper clips of different sizes & colours to your clothing & Machi later ends up adding stuff like buttons to her outfits/belongings as well which Haru & Rin are tottally surppotive of despite thier difference in style) & hair/makeup which (thanks to Yuki's advice) they make sure to keep slightly messy (Kimi laughed at it at first until Momiji made her feel bad after he told her that Machi had gone to the bathroon & wiped off all the make up & undid the hair style so Kimi bought her some limited edition Mogeta merch, after asking for Yuki's advice, in apolgey & started referring to Machi's new hair/makeup style as "punk chic" whenever anyone tried to mock Machi about her new look)

5. her & Momiji go on a crazy tie dying adventure (much to Hatori's grumbling & Mayu's amusement)

6. Kormaki gets her into collecting second hand fridge magnets which she then later uses in her work (my version of post-serise Machi is an artist) once the magnetism finally wears off

7. Kagura teaches her how to fix up old plushies (Machi likes creating Mogeta inspired characters) & gives Machi all her old cat ones to work on (Machi descides not to ask why Yuki's cousin was seemingly once obssesd with orange cats because she looks rather embrassed & a little sad when she hands over her collection)

8. Kyo reluctantly teaches her how to cook a few simple dishes (Tohru comes over as well & Yuki insists her food is better but Machi prefers Kyo's simple style of presentation so it's eventually descided that Kyo & her will do the cooking & Tohru & Yuki will deal with the cleaning which Yuki agrees to becuse cleaning is still difficult for Machi but Kyo says it's actually because no matter how much Tohru tried to train him rat boy knows he would never be able to do anything in the kitchen but burn water)

9. Kakeru teaches her the skills of 'excessive badge & sticker decorating' as well as giving eachother fake tattoos (Kisa congratulates Hiro on not saying anything rude to Yuki's girlfriend about her appreance after they first meet her)

10. Cuts her hair short (she delibretly makes it very choppy) once she enters university, where the rules are less strict about your apprence (at least it is if your at art college), & she also regulary wears diffrent coloured wigs (her favourites being a dark red one & a rainbow one) whenever she wants to temporarily change her appearance (beacuse she didn't want to commit to just one look, still wanted to have the ability to quickly "become invisable" again & she heard from Kimi that exsseive hair die-ing could permantly destroy her hair & scalp) it takes her until she's 30 to try out shaving all her hair off (she worried she'd look sick/crazy or not feminine enough) & everyone's really surppotive (though Kimi dose cry a bit, Rin & Haru aren't there when her hair is being shaved & Kyo is a slightly confused as he'd always thought women liked having longer hair then guys) especially Ritsu (who's growing out thier hair again) & they all throw her a big party (Haru & Rin are there for the party bit just not the hair removal bit because it brought up some bad memories) where Kakeru films it & posts it (with Machi's permission) & they give her cut off hair to a charity chosen by all thier followers (despite her disbelief Machi has manged to gain a small group of loyal fans from all her art stuff & her apprences on her loved ones social media), Kakeru also later uploads a video where they help Machi rainbow dye her buzz cut, (she later explores many diffrent types of buzz cut patterns such as flowers & geometric shapes but, at Kimi's insistence, gets them done by a professional)

11. She recycles & D.Y.I's like crazy (Momiji started singing Do Re Mi from The Sound Of Music after she told him that her new dress was actually made from curtains & Yuki cried when she gave him a little rat plushie made from felt, after he came clean to her about the curse)

12. She almost never wears an apron while working on her art because she likes getting messy

13. When her & Yuki go out to eat she loves things like fondoe (both the chocolate & cheese kind), eat N mess & is genreually just a fan of finger food & it becomes a tradition between her & Yuki (& later Mutsuki) to go on a stroll through the park after thier meal & (if it's autumn) look for piles of leaves to jump in (Machi & Yuki also like playing a game where they try to look for the weirdest looking leaf to give eachother & whoever wins gets to pick what they'll eat for dinner that evening & the looser has to cook it, Mutsuki is the "impartial" judge)

14. Machi is amazing at scrapbooking & collarge making (Tohru is more of a dream journal kind of girl)

15. When it's Summer her, Yuki & Mutsuki go down to the beach to see who can find the weirdest looking rocks (the less impressive ones often get used in Machi's art work, the coolest ones Mutsuki gets to keep & any that are too perfect get tossed back in the ocean & Mutsuki likes to score the splashes they make on how big/loud they are)

16. She loves helping Yuki out with gardening for lots of reasons (it's therapeutic & she loves seeing Yuki happy) but she can't deny it's also just fun getting muddy

17. Machi, thanks to Kakeru, devolpes a love of paint ball (but instead of using guns they just throw the paint at eachother like in 10 Things I Hate About You because apparently the gun pellets actually hurt) & will bring it up as an activity idea to her loved ones any chanse she gets

18. Decorates as much of her flat (& later her home with Yuki & Mutsuki) with Mogeta merchandise, random things she collects & her own art work as a big fuck you to her bitch "you have 0 personality/hobbies or talents" of a mother

19. Kisa (happily) & Hiro (reluctantly) introduce Machi to the magic of glitter

20. Machi & Rin eventually become proper friends due to bonding over being abounded by their asshole parents & one of the things they like to do together is work on thier seprete art peices while listening to music (Machi dosn't do any of her "aggressive" art, like plate smashing, around Rin though thanks to Yuki & Haru warnings)

21. When stuff gets to be too much & none of thier other coping strategies are working (like watching Mogeta stoned- which Kisa, Tohru & Momiji do not partake in) Machi & Haru bond by going to rage rooms together to destroy shit & scream (Haru obviously dosn't want Rin around for any of that though so Momiji, Tohru, Kagura or Hana will often take the opportunity to hang out with her, one time Yuki offered & it wasn't bad but it was definitely awkward as they had never really hung out without Haru before & Haru teases her for ages afterwards about her ending up liking Yuki once she actually spent some time with him which, like the precious tsundere she is, Rin will forever deny)

22. (I actually made a whole seprete post about this ages ago but now it seems to have vanished so in case other Machi fans are unable to find it l'll add it here) on the days that it's supposed to snow but dosn't Yuki takes her (& later Mutsuki) skating so she can enjoy scratching up the perfectly smooth ice (they would have gone on double dates with Tohru & Kyo if Tohru wasn't freaked out at the idea of having blades on her shoes & Kyo hadn't claimed to "not trust" ice, he's dislike comes from all the times Kagura had forced him to ice skate with her on the lake near Kazuma's place in the winter when they were kids, so they would instead go with Haru & Momiji - they had thought about going with Haru x Rin & Kakeru x Kormaki once but he proudly revealed that he'd been banned from thier local ice rink years ago for trying "perfectly safe" Olympic level stunts in he's attempt to recreate one of he's favriote episodes of Power Rangers, much to he's fiancee's anger, & Machi reminded Yuki that though Haru & Kakeru were fine with eachother Rin isn't reall able to stand Kakeru for longer than 5 minuites)

fruits basket: breaking the soma curse

well... essentially what i think the curse is all about, why momoji's has broken, and how to break it

the curse itself is based off of a twisted definition of "love", so i thought, wouldn't the zodiac members feeling the exact opposite of love break the curse? what is the opposite of love??

hatred

well i mean this one's pretty simple — yuki is too traumatized and afraid to actually hate akito, but kyo totally could. hell, hatsuharu probably does, after the lil debacle w/ rin. we know haru is a calm and collected person, even when he's angry (he was calm asf when hiro told him rin was pushed by akito, and really only showed how angry he was when he reached her room. and again, it wasn't a strategy to intimidate her into telling him where rin was being held either — even after kureno informed them that rin was in the hospital, haru nearly beat akito to a pulp lmaoo)

but again, neither kyo's, nor haru's bonds have been broken. so technically, even hating akito can't free them.

fear?

can't be, nope, nada, sorry. yuki literally froze the first time akito showed up to school, rin was also scared of what she could do to haru, and so is kisa (+ hiro, for kisa's sake).

indifference

i initially scraped this off because haru seems to give literally no shits about akito? same went for kyo to an extent, etc. but!!!

the akito vs haru scene puts a lot of things into perspective. we also saw his string snap somewhat, but how? why? if it had anything to do with anger, haru was livid — in that case, the entire string should've broken. but perhaps that was the problem itself?

love is a strong emotion, and the opposite of a strong emotion is none at all. if haru had been passive in fear for what consequences rin may face for their relationship, then for him to stand up to akito the way he did meant that he literally threw away the bond. for a moment, haru let go of any respect / courtesy the bond required, and he held 'god' accountable.

we can't really fight haru's case bc he was still mad, and anger is still a pretty strong emotion so i guess that cancels out?

moving on — we don't actually know much about kureno when his curse broke, but momoji was indifferent. why? well, his story has been building ever since akito visited their vacation in season two. the most important scene, the turning point, it was the moment akito and kureno visited the vacation house in the dead of night. momoji saw the akito vs tohru showdown, he stood up for tohru.

momoji has had to suffer so much because of the curse, he's lost his family and his home, constantly is carrying around that pain, but still, despite knowing akito's power, despite everything he's had to sacrifice, he stands up. it's when he understands tohru's importance in his life, and that for her he's willing to go head to head against akito if need be. and the thing is, he's currently at level zero. this is when he understands that the only way to go is up. that even the curse breaking can't solve his problems, but that doesn't mean he can't have a future with his friends. his sister saying she wants to be a part of his life only strengthens this, that his life can get better.

and when momoji finally realises that he doesn't have to let the curse control his life, that he can move on without it, is when it breaks.

then what about everyone else?

haru's bond almost breaking is a reflection of this — he disregarded everything the curse stood for when he threatened akito, and that moment of indifference may have damaged the 'string'. he's still feeling very strongly about akito though — negatively, but still — so it can't break off entirely. shigure feels responsible for akito ending up as she did and is actively involved in trying to heal her so he can't possibly be indifferent. hatori is similar in that regard. i wouldn't doubt that rin, hiro and kisa are still traumatized by the incidents that happened to them, and akito definitely inspires some anxiety and fear in ayame (the conversation with mine in the beginning of ep. 5 is sorta proof of this) and kagura (wouldn't be a stretch to assume kagura has been somewhat bullied just like the other girls of the zodiac) as well.

if this theory holds true in any way, then that means that kyo (who is emotionally and mentally broken down everytime he meets akito, is also fated to be locked up until his death by her) and yuki (was traumatized since very early on) would have the hardest time trying to break away and move on, due to such intensity in their emotions :(
