Black Panther: Wakanda Forever review
Director: Ryan Coogler
Main cast:
Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyongo, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Florence Kasumba and Martin Freeman.
Runtime: 161 minutes.
Does it pass the Bechdel test? Yes
Basic Plot:
In the wake of King T’Challa’s death, the nation of Wakanda must protect itself from enemies old and new.
Overall thoughts:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an excellent film that give a respectful tribute to the late and great Chadwick Boseman. The acting, storyline, special effects and costume design are all high quality. Moreover, Wakanda Forever has more representation of women and ethnic minorities than its predecessor. African and Mesoamerican cultures are very prominent in this film, in contrast to the many Western-centric MCU content. In relation to the wider MCU, Wakanda Forever not only references the first Black Panther film, but has some scenes that deliberately parallel some iconic moments in Iron Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The main themes of the film are colonialism, self-determination, grief, trauma, survival and geopolitics. While Wakanda Forever is great, there is some behind-the-scenes controversy regarding Letitia Wright’s alleged anti-vaccine behavior on set. Ultimately, Wakanda Forever is one of the best films in the MCU.
Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Utter(ly) Random: Disney Expo (D23)
September 2nd saw the Disney Expo, or D23, take place in Anaheim, California. Trailers, announcements, and ceremonies took center stage, as Disney revealed works that would be released in the next few years. Here are a few pieces that took place that caught my attention.
MARVEL MOVIES
Superheros were not left out of the D23 announcements. The footage was revealed for the much anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, scheduled for release on November 11, 2022. The clip showed Queen Ramonda criticizing the U.N. for attempting to steal vibranium following the death of T’Challa, as well as the strength of Dora Milaje. This seems to be setting the stage for the upcoming battles with Namor and the Atlanteans.
Tumblr media
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is actually the first film released in Phase 5 of the MCU. Revealed footage showed Lang, Van Dyne and Pym being forced into the quantum realm and facing Kang the Conqueror.
Entirely shot in black and white, the Werewolf by Night follows a group of monster hunters seeking beasts that live among them. This movie is scheduled to be released in October.
The Marvels, Thunderbolts, Captain America: New World Order, and Fantastic Four all had footage revealed and further announcements about production.
MARVEL T.V
Ironheart, a television series following a superhero of the same name, has Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne at the helm. She is also spotted in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, making her iconic Ironheart armor. The series is a sequel to Black Panther.
The Loki trailer was released for season 2, promising that Loki is back to his antics.
Echo, which was the antagonist for Hawkeye, will get her own show, and Daredevil: Born Again has Charlie Cox donning his vigilante costume again. Secret Invasion saw the return of Fury and the “invasion” of the shape-changing aliens known as the Skrull.
Tumblr media
LIVE ACTION AND ANIMATION
Pixar announced some upcoming works as well as a surprise sequel.
Elemental, which follows two elements on the opposite side of the spectrum, must navigate their growing relationship as polar opposites.
Elio is centered around an 11-year-old boy of the same name who finds himself as the emissary for Earth after accidentally decoding a message from aliens.
Riley is back! Inside Out 2 follows a teenage Riley navigating new emotions and new challenges.
Disney+ will have some new movies and shows hitting their platform this year and in the next coming years.
Zootopia+ will arrive in November and will be a collection of shorts following the citizens of Zootopia.
Iwaju will be released in 2023 and follows an heiress named Tola and a boy names Kole.
Strange Worlds which will be in THEATERS Thanksgiving 2022 follow the Clades who are explorers.
Wish is about the star that so many of the beloved Disney characters wish upon. Set in the Kingdom of Roses, Asha sees darkness settling in the kingdom that only she sees. Making a desperate plea to the stars, an actual star (aptly named Star) falls to help Asha save the kingdom.
The sisters are back! Hocus Pocus 2 will cast a spell on Disney+ on September 30th.
Tumblr media
Disenchanted, a surprise sequel to Enchanted, has Amy Adams, James Marsden, and Patrick Dempsey reprising their roles. It will be streaming on Disney+ in November.
Peter Pan & Wendy, Haunted Mansion, Mufasa: The Lion King, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid will be getting live-action boots.
Most releases take place in the 2023–2024 year, and some are released throughout the rest of this year.
It’s too early for me to make any clear assumptions about releases or to criticize anything. I think I’ll wait for more information to be released before I do a breakdown, or if I’m excited about anything.
Are you excited about any Disney/Pixar releases?

Comics this week?
Sorry for the late response, pain flared up again and left me drained. Unfortunately it seems like my problem might be chronic so I’ll just have to manage as best as I can. Wanted to let you guys know going forward.
Superman #14 - Now it’s the Czarnians turn to get betrayed, at least they were smart enough to see it coming. Everything is set up for us to get some reveals about what Brainiac’s plan here is, let’s hope Williamson can land this plane because it’s been a blast thus far.
World’s Finest #27 - Jimmy Olsen saving the day and being crowned the world’s greatest hero put a smile on my face.
GL: WJ #9 - Man I’ve sung PKJ’s praises but here I have to sing Montos’. If he got a long run he would absolutely be spoken of as an iconic GL artist in the same breath as Reis and Mahkne. Great work this issue from him in portraying the backstory of the Darkstars.
Wonder Woman #9 - Most Tom King-ist issue yet what with Diana having a mental breakdown an eating a rat. But it won me over in the end with Diana being comforted by the rat’s mate, nice that King used her ability to talk to animals, and Not!Steve telling her that she’s even stronger than Clark and Bruce. Gorgeous art from Sampere as always.
Immortal Thor #11 - Heh I loved the bard hijacking the narrative boxes from Loki.
Ultimate Black Panther #4 - At least T’Challa got to save Shuri but I’m still wanting to see more action scenes for him. The events of each issue are too decompressed but the timeline of each issue skipping a month also leaves things feeling rushed. Hope Hill finds his footing soon.

Chadwick Boseman birth anniversary: Black Panther actor kept saying ‘I’m Dead’ when asked about his MCU future
Chadwick Boseman birth anniversary: Black Panther actor kept saying ‘I’m Dead’ when asked about his MCU future
Late Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman, who was born on November 29, 1976, was an actor whose iconic on-screen body of work will be remembered for years to come. The actor had perfectly embodied the character of Wakandan King T’challa and his alter ego Black Panther in the Marvel franchise films prior to his death on August 28, 2020, following a secret four-year battle with colon cancer. Just a women who loves Her Padres signatures shirt
Tumblr media
Ever since Just a women who loves Her Padres signatures shirt . Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing in 2020, fans have been anxious to learn how Marvel would adjust the sequel that became Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The project’s first trailer was released a few weeks ago at San Diego Comic-Con, and it’s blown people away. The nation is reeling from the loss of its king, just as another powerful player makes themselves known to Wakanda - potentially putting them all at risk. Even with all this time having passed, it’s hard to imagine a Black Panther film completely devoid of T’Challa. Many fans think that Marvel should have recast the role so he could live on and inspire more people, but alas, that ship has sailed. Instead, it seems the story has been retooled entirely to honor Boseman’s legacy and how his loss also plays into the fictional world.Just a women who loves Her Padres signatures shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

Not only will they be offering fans a high-quality improvement of an old figure, but added accessories will allow collectors to put a new suit combination on display for the character. Hot Toys has just announced a new and improved 1/6 scale figure of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa in his first Black Panther suit, which debuted on screen in Captain America: Civil War. The suit looks gorgeous and, sadly, hasn’t been seen in use on screen since the early parts of the Black Panther film. Think of all the lives of black children Boseman touched when he donned the role of Black Panther on the big screen. The impact was just as powerful as when Reeve was Superman. He brought the character to life, and became the superhero for an entire generation. This one really hurts.

Space-Techy
Yesss finally I made one for our king
Timeline is Civil War era but not accurate either. IDK if this counts as romantic or platonic honestly, maybe more platonic. IDK it’s 3AM so I don’t know what to describe this as :)
(L/N) = last name
pairing(s): T’Challa/Black Panther x GN!Reader
warning(s): cursing, i guess the reader being somewhat anxious and awkward
word count: 1.0k
Tumblr media
“Agent (L/N), I’d like for you to meet the King of Wakanda himself. This is Agent (L/N), our best one. They have surpassed multiple agencies’ elite agents and has yet to fail us. Your mission was explained before we came here.”
Director Fury stepped aside, nodding at T’Challa who rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
He didn’t seem thrilled. Why would he? Director Fury basically assigned you to protect the king while he stayed in America for a few days—like he even needed you.
“I already told you,” T’Challa interrupted your thoughts. “I do not need the extra protection. I am not a child. I am the protector of Wakanda for a reason.” Nick Fury nodded, putting his hands behind his back.
“With all due respect, we need to make sure no future casualties occur when we capture the Winter Soldier. Agent (L/N) would essentially work as a backup for you, if you need it whatsoever.”
While T’Challa rubbed his eyes in annoyance, you looked him over. You couldn’t see how anyone could confuse his royal status. Everything from his stature to demeanor inclined that he was a leader, that he was regal. That he was well…a king.
Not to mention the man’s amazing looks.
You find it hard to believe that anyone could resist such a charming face.
You didn’t even notice when one of the Dora Milaje stood in front of you. She stared down at you with what seemed like a demeaning expression. Honestly, you don’t blame her, Nick Fury basically put you as an extra bodyguard over T’Challa’s literal bodyguards. You stared back at her.
“Move, or you will be moved.” Ayo said calmly. You were about to when T’Challa spoke. “As entertaining as that would be to see, we have to get going.” He looked at you with a stoic expression. “It looks like I will be having you as a partner in capturing my prisoner, Agent (L/N).” You nodded, standing up straight. “That’s right sir. Although I don't think you will even need me.”
Ayo looked over at her majesty who gave a slight chuckle. “Trust me, I know.”
Ok, that sounded iconic. You looked down at your feet, trying to figure out something else to say, “So I guess…you can think of me as a sort of plan b I guess?” you questioned. Great way to make things awkward.
T’Challa shook his head, “Not a plan b, more of an ensured assistance.”
Same thing.
Nick Fury said your last name. You turned to face him before he spoke, “I expect for you to follow King T’Challa’s orders in capturing the Winter Soldier. However if you do manage to catch sight of him, you already know to report immediately. Remember to call for forces when undergoing action to catch him.”
You nodded, turning back to face T’Challa. Nodding, you said, “Ready to serve you, King T’Challa.”
He looked you up and down before gesturing to the Audi parked besides you all. You paused for a second, confused. He opened the door, “Get in. We need to ensure all the locations we found on the prisoner.”
You looked down embarrassed, “Oh…right.” Heading towards the passenger side, you heard T’Challa speak again. “We’ll be off to check out the satellite locations, Ayo.”
The king looked over at you, chuckling when he realized you were gawking at the surrounding technical advances made in the vehicle.
“This is…” you stopped mid-sentence.
“Extensively advanced?”
“...fucking awesome. It all looks so space-techy.”
“Space-techy?”
You realized your words and covered your mouth, looking at him. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to sound disrespectful!” He chuckled once more before turning on the car. “No worries, I take it as a compliment.” Without further notice, he put a hand on the wheel and began to drive off.
While the two of you were overseeing the satellites pin points, you didn’t notice the stare T’Challa gave you until he spoke up about it.
“Are you afraid of me?” he asked.
You looked up from the tablet screen you were overseeing, “W-What?” you stuttered out.
“I asked if you were afraid of me.” Well that was unexpected. You rubbed behind your ear, “What would give you that impression? If it was because of me then I apologize—” he waved off your growing worries with his hand.
“No it’s not because of that. It’s just that you have been squirming and twitching whenever I've spoken to you. You keep conversation short when I ask you something and stutter only when speaking to me.”
Oh.
Trying to come up with an excuse and finding none, you sigh before turning around in your chair. “No, I’m not scared. But I am…” when he didn’t speak up, you took it as a sign to continue. “I am intimidated. Not in a bad way, but in a respectful kind of way.”
The king raised an eyebrow, “In what way would intimidation be deemed respectable?”
You wrung your hands together, looking to the side. “Everything about you looks and is respectable. A literal definition of a king—which you are. Whereas I'm just an awkward agent. And not to mention the whole Nick Fury putting me, of all people, me, to watch over such a powerful person."
You licked your lips before starting again, "I don’t know…it feels like I shouldn't be worthy of such a placement. I mean, you literally have your body guards who would be much better than me—”
He cut off your rambling by standing up. You shut up. Oh god, did you sound disrespectful again?
But T’Challa gave you a reassuring smile. “Well, why wouldn’t it be you? Nick Fury did say you were the best of their agency. He says you have yet to fail at a task. So again why would I intimidate you?” he asked.
Looking away from him, you confessed. “I guess I feel like I'm not…good enough? To be helping you?” He still looks confused. You threw your hands up in the air, “I don’t know! It’s stupid but it makes sense in my head.”
“So in other words…you respect me?” Nodding, you could feel your cheeks warm up.
“A lot, actually.”
Deciding his next words, T’Challa said, “So you like me as a king?”
Covering your face, you felt your body twitch as he pulled up a chair beside you. “I like you as a person as well! I mean I'm sure your a very generous and nice person too! I didn’t mean—”
He gave a genuine laugh this time, “I was only teasing.”
I’m sorry it’s shitty and it literally has no plot :’)
