It was no secret that the water hashira was a loner. He stuck to himself and blended into the background. At first you were neutral towards him, you were similar in a sense. Kept to yourself and tried to blend into the background. The big difference is that not only were you friends with the love hashira, but you had managed to endear yourself towards some of the others. You weren’t sure how you did it, but it was nice to know that they cared. For Giyū Tomioka, it was the complete opposite.
You could only hear insults towards the man for so long. A part of you related to him, and hearing Kochō be so passive aggressive towards him made you feel unsettled. So you made up your mind, you were going to try and befriend Tomioka. You had been completely alone before, and you had wished for someone to befriend you, so you were sure he was longing for the same.
You had told Mitsuri of your plan as you both walked towards the Ubuyashiki Estate. You all had been called for a brief. These were rare, but it was nice to see how your fellow hashira’s were, and also a perfect excuse to try and talk to the water hashira. Mitsuri was nearly jumping up and down at the information, an excited grin overtaking her features.
“That’s so cute!” She squealed, clasping her hands together. “You have to tell me how it goes.”
“I already feel like I’m going to fail,” You said, slightly sweating at the thought. “Last time I tried to make a friend it ended up really awkward because I never know what to say.”
“Hm,” She hummed in thought. “Just try and find a connection.”
You purse your lips, “That’s easier said than done.”
It wasn’t much longer before you found yourself sitting next to the stoic man. Ubuyashiki was going over statistics, how we could improve and how well we’ve been doing. I felt myself getting more anxious by the second. After the meeting I would try and at least say hi, but I was wondering if that was a good idea. Seconds ticked by while you had basically toned out Ubuyashiki’s smooth voice, fingers fidgeting in your lap. Once you were all excused, you hyped yourself up, looking over to the black haired man.
“Hello!” You said a little too loudly, a nervous smile adorned your lips as  you gained Tomioka’s attention.
His blank stare watched you for a few seconds before replying, “Excuse me.”
Then he left.
…just like that. You blinked, mouth dropping in slight awe at just how fast he managed to escape. You had spent so long going over situations and anxious thoughts…only for him to barely acknowledge you.
You didn’t even realize Mitsuri joined you until she spoke up, “Maybe next time?”
You turned your attention to the green eyed beauty, a pout adorning your lips, “He didn’t even say hi back.”
“Ara ara~” Kochō joined us, an empty smile placed on her lips. “I’m afraid it’s a lost cause.”
Your playful pout had turned into a frown, your feelings towards the insect pillar were mixed. She was blunt, which would be nice at times, but others it could be harsh. “Oh well,” You shrugged. “At least I’ll be able to say I tried.”
You had accidently ran into Tomioka only a few days later. You were walking back to your estate, exhausted after a long mission. It was more tedious than difficult, as the walking had been longer than the fight by far. You couldn’t believe your eyes when they landed on the split patterned haori. Before your anxiety could get the best of you, you approached him.
“Hello!” You waved, this time not shouting. “How are you doing Tomioka-san?”
Once again his stoic features watched you briefly, like he was trying to gauge your intentions, “I’m doing fine.”
Yes! He couldn’t run away like last time, you’ll make sure of it.
“How old are you?” You asked, genuinely curious. He looked both young and old in a sense, and you were curious where you stood compared to your ages.
Another awkward pause as you both stood on the trail, Tomioka finally answered, “Ninteen.”
Your mouth dropped open, unable to hide your surprise, “Nineteen! I thought you were at least twenty-two!” Tamioka only glanced away awkwardly, and you waved your hands around. “Not that it's a bad thing, I’m only twenty! So we’re really close in age. Besides, Tokitō’s fourteen so nineteen isn’t that bad…sorry I’m rambling.”
Your anxiety started to run rampant, this is the most you had spoken to the water pillar and it was really awkward. You both seemed to be in the same boat as he awkwardly nodded, arms crossed as his eyes couldn’t meet yours. An awkward silence encompassed you both and you felt yourself losing your composure.
“I’m sorry,” You apologized again, feeling your face heat up in embarrassment. “I want to befriend you but I’m very bad at talking to others. Mitsuri-chan recommended finding something we both relate to, but I am unsure how to do that.” You weren’t sure if your mind was playing tricks on you, but you swore Tomioka’s eyes widened slightly, head tilting ever so slightly. He almost reminded you of a puppy.
“We shouldn’t be friends,” Tomioka’s tone spoke with finality. Your brows furrowed, you could understand him saying that, but the sting of rejection overpowered your thoughts. Normally you’d bow as an apology and scurry away to mull over all the points in which you made yourself look like a fool, but your wish to friend him overpowered that.
“Why not?” You asked, a slight frown pulling on your lips.
Tomioka opened his mouth only to close it, eyebrows furrowing in thought. Finally, he replied, “I don’t want to be friends with you.”
You nodded, the sting of rejection spreading. You felt your face flush in embarrassment as you bowed, “I apologize, I wish you well Tomioka-san.”
You quickly turned around, rushing towards your estate, shame and embarrassment continuing to flood through you. You had quickly written a letter to Mitsuri, venting about how embarrassed you were. You had been sent on another mission shortly after, allowing you to forget about your embarrassing fiasco, at least for a brief moment. You were nearly back to normal, your restless nights finally ceasing as the memory started to fade to the back of your mind. Until it was violently forced back to the forefront.
You had found yourself resting in the same wisteria house as Giyū Tomioka. You both sat in silence, eating your food without acknowledging the other. It felt wrong, like you should say something, but those words he spoke rang in your head, holding you back, ‘I don’t want to be friends with you.’
You hate to admit it, but that simple sentence had brung back insecurities you thought you had overcome. You didn’t blame him, not at all. It wasn’t Tomioka’s fault that you had seemed to crumble due to one person's seemingly unapproval of you. You ate with your head bowed, hoping that you weren’t annoying him in any way. Was it the way you looked? The way you talked? Had you rambled too much in your nervousness? Did your mere aura annoy him? If so, you felt even more guilty for making him sit in your presence.
Tomioka on the other hand hadn’t noticed your inner dilemma. Although he did find you seeming to shrink in on yourself further and further unusual, he wasn’t sure what your normal was. You hadn’t seemed to act like this around the other hashira’s, he only saw glimpses of you. If he were to be honest, he had seen the way you interacted with Mitsuri, so lively and happy. He wished he could experience that side of you, but he knew he had ruined any chance already. ‘I don’t want to be friends with you,’ those words haunted him. It was a lie, he did in fact want to be friends with you, but you were better off without him. He would only manage to drag you down.
“Are you finished?” Tomioka asked. You hadn’t even realized you had stopped eating. Looking up at him for the first time, you stared at him with wide eyes.
“Oh! Uh, yeah,” You stumbled. “Here, I can clean up.” Moving faster than he could protest, you had grabbed the empty bowls and started cleaning, not wanting to be a burden. The lady of the house was surprised when you approached her with the dirty dishes, asking where to set them. When she protested you helping her wash them, you begrudgingly made your way back to your shared room for the night.
“Thank you,” Tomioka spoke up randomly, causing you to glance at him.
“It’s okay,” You shrugged, prepping your futon to your liking. “I like helping.”
It was harder for you to fall asleep than you’d like to admit. You had been running around for the past few days and it seemed that your mind couldn’t settle just yet. You kept your eyes closed, willing yourself to sleep as your body felt exhausted.
It was even harder for you to fall asleep as Tomioka had murmured into the night, “I wish we could be friends, but this is for the best.”
Great, now you really weren’t going to fall asleep.
The sun was just starting to shine through the windows, causing you to slowly wake up. You were surprised that you had awoken earlier than Tomioka. He looked so peaceful, the usual tension in his face had been relaxed. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you went to take care of yourself in the bathroom. Your foggy mind slowly remembered the restless night before, how Tomioka had confessed to wanting to be friends with you when he thought you were asleep. Now that you knew that you weren’t the problem/reason, you were going to try even harder to befriend him.
When you returned to the room, you had half expected the room to be empty, but to your delight, Tomioka was still there, having just woken up.
“Good morning,” You smiled sleepily, still feeling sluggish. You tried to ignore how cute he looked as he rubbed his eyes.
“Good morning,” Tomioka replied back softly.
“Did you sleep well?” You asked, hoping to keep the conversation going. While talking, you made your way to your satchel, making sure everything was in order.
“Yes,” He replied, the sounds of shuffling cloth coming from behind you. Glancing back, you watched as he was about to leave. “Excuse me,” He alerted, sliding the door open and leaving. At first you thought he was leaving completely like the last time, except you noticed his sword was still in the room.
‘Good,’ You thought. ‘He should at least eat something before leaving.’
The lady of the house knocked on the door before entering, a bright smile on her face. You both chatted briefly as she set up a zataku table, loading some food on top. Tomioka entered the room not long after, glancing at the food but ignoring it. Swallowing the bite of taiyaki, I spoke up, “You should join me! The food’s really good.”
“I’m not hungry,” Tomioka muttered.
You bit your lip, trying to think of how you could get to know him better, “Not even for just a bite of rice?” His deep blue eyes glanced at me, pausing before he grabbed his sword, then his eyes drifted to the food. “I really can’t eat this all by myself,” You said, hoping that would finally entice him. It seemed your persuasive skills were better than you thought (or his loneliness was finally getting the best of him).
As you both sat at the table, you found yourself rambling about your mission. The awkwardness between the both of you from before had seemed to vanish (on your end at least) as you talked to fill the silence. How the demon’s you were sent to kill had become more challenging, how the treck left you exhausted, how awkward you were around to kakushi. It got to the point of you rambling about this cute Ezo red fox you saw.
Tomioka may be a bit oblivious at times, but he had noticed this drastic change. Just last night you barely let out a peep, and now you were talking about anything and everything. He didn’t mind, no one has talked with him in such a way since…Sabito. It felt very bittersweet for him. He could only ponder on what caused your change, and he hoped that you hadn’t heard his confession last night. Especially since he found his will to be weaker than he’d like to admit.
Misturi was a very good listener. The way she’d dramatically gasp or watch with bated breath. You knew she was hanging on to every word you spoke. When you had finished filling her in on everything that had happened between both you and Tomioka she squealed.
“You two are so cute!” She smiled brightly, finishing another bowl of pork cutlet.
“More like we’re both awkward,” You mumbled. Picking at your food (still only on your first portion).
“He said he wanted to be your friend!” She pointed at you with her chopsticks.
“But I’m not sure how to proceed,” You complained. “Do I just keep talking his ear off about random stuff? I feel like that’ll get annoying quickly.”
“Why don’t you get him something?” She asked, sipping some tea. “Maybe that’ll open him a little.”
“Hmm,” You pondered. What would you even get him? “Maybe.”
So you had continued to think about what a reclusive water hashira may like. It didn’t help that you were in the midst of a market. Vendors resided on either side, showing off their wares to entice customers to view their stalls. You took in the sites, yet nothing really caught your eyes. That was until a vendor who was selling omamori. You were surprised to find someone selling these charms outside of a shrine, so you were a bit weary of the product, but they seemed to be made from genuinely good materials.
You perused the items, there were many different colors and intentions. Finally, you picked out a blue omamori that wishes for happiness. You didn’t really think much of it. You did, in fact, wish Tomioka happiness. The rest of your mission went smoothly, and you sent Tomioka a letter upon your arrival. In the time it took for your crow to come back, you had almost forgotten of the invite. You felt yourself waiting anxiously for the time to come, tidying up your estate even more (much to the kakushi’s dismay), making sure you had enough tea and snacks.
By the time Tomioka had arrived, you already had two cups of tea and a snack platter set out on your engawa. It was a nice warm and bright sunny day, and you might as well enjoy the scenery of the forest that surrounded your estate. You greeted him with a bright smile, coaxing him to sit down. The both of you savored the tea, sipping in silence. It was nice. Normally you’d feel pressured to say something, like you were failing at keeping the other person entertained, but at the moment you felt peaceful. Sharing a warm cup of tea on a nice day with someone you cared about.
You watched as the sun rays fell down, barely hitting the forest floor. Rabbits hopping about as insects buzzed around. You quite liked your estate, you were grateful for all that Ubuyashiki has given you. It was in a secluded area not too far from a small village. It gave you a space for yourself, but you were still close enough to society that you weren’t a hermit. You enjoyed nature as well, watching animals was one of your favorite hobbies as you discovered silly little behaviors that they would do. Though as a hashira you found yourself having less and less time to yourself.
“I have something for you,” You finally spoke up. You both had finished a cup of tea and some of the snacks were gone. You turned your gaze to Tomioka, only to meet his ocean blue eyes. You took the omamori out of your pocket and handed it to the water hashira. He hesitated before finally accepting the gift. You bit your lips, trying to suppress the giant grin that threatened to spread across your lips. A light pink dusted across his cheeks as he stared at it.
“You didn’t have to,” He replied, eyes still on the gift. “...thank you.”
“No biggie,” You waved it off. “I saw it and thought of you.” You didn’t realize what you said until you had said it. Your eyes widened, and Tomioka’s blush seemed to only intensify. Deciding that ignoring the remark was the best option, you started talking about your last mission and the market you had found that charm in. A giddy feeling overwhelmed you as you watched Tomioka pocket the charm, his gaze looking warmer than usual.
It was safe to say both you and Tomioka were quite close to each other now. You were someone he enjoyed spending time with and you loved being in his presence. The awkwardness that had initially been a part of your relationship fizzled, a warm atmosphere left in its wake. The two of you would spend time over tea, mostly at your estate, but you were proud to say you’ve spent time at his as well. Sometimes you found yourself going on walks on the trails that littered across your property, and you would point out animals you’d observed and little facts you found out about them over the years. Tomioka thought that if demons hadn’t screwed over the world, you’d have made a wonderful researcher.
The feeling of something slipping into your pocket had put you on edge. Turning your head swiftly to the side, you stared at Tomioka with wide eyes. He stared at you back, eyes wide and cheeks a light pink. He had been caught. He didn’t know what he was expecting, you were a highly skilled hashira, trained to detect the slightest thing off. Slipping your hand into your pocket, you pulled out an omamori. You felt your face flush as it was not only your favorite color, but it was an anti-evil omamori.
“Thank you, Tomioka-san,” You thanked with a bright smile. You were so busy trying to figure out how to attach the charm to the hilt of your sword, you almost missed Tomioka’s next words.
“Giyū,” He muttered, head turned away from you. You stared at him slightly in confusion until he clarified, “You can call me Giyū.”
“Thank you, Giyū-san,” You clarified, smiling so wide it felt like your cheeks hurt. “You can call me by my first name as well.” He nodded, still not facing your direction. Tugging gently at his haori, you led him to continue your walk along the trail, the day seeming a lot brighter than before.
“Please Giyū-san,” You pleaded, putting on your best puppy dog eyes.
He tried his hardest to not meet your gaze, feeling his resolve slowly crumbling, “I…am busy that day.”
“Pleeeeease,” You drawled out, hands clasped as you jutted out your bottom lip. “I don’t want to be stuck as a third wheel.” He had accidently met your gaze, and he felt himself fold, how could you look so cute?
“Fine.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” You exclaimed, pulling him into a hug without a second thought, squeezing him tightly to try and express your gratitude. “I love Mitsuri-chan but Iguro-san scares me.” Giyū stood stiff, arms fell limply at his sides. Unsure what to do, he awkwardly patted your back before you pulled away. Your warmth that had seeped into him seemed to vanish and he immediately wished you held him for just a moment longer.
The dinner had arrived too quickly for his liking. Although he found himself wanting to spend more time with you, and he didn’t mind Kanroji, Iguro had made his distaste of the water hashira clear multiple times. He hasn’t spent time with you in the presence of others, and he was scared that you’d finally come to your senses and sever your ties with him.
He had arrived at least fifteen minutes early, which was exactly when you arrived as well. Giyū couldn’t help but stare at you in awe as he approached. You stood to the side of the restaurant that you were all to dine in. You wore a simple kimono, but he couldn’t help but find himself astounded. He thought you were ethereal in your uniform and haori, but seeing you in such casual wear had seemed to revise your beauty in another light.
You, on the other hand, felt blood drain from your face. Giyū had been the next to arrive after you, and he was wearing his uniform. Your brain had become frenzied as you wondered if you had enough time to make it back to your estate and change your clothes. You didn’t want to stand out amongst your friends.
“Wait, is everyone going to be in their uniform?” You blurted, feeling slightly dizzy at the thought. Giyū, still being stunlocked, seemed oblivious to your turmoil, shrugged. Your shoulders raised as Giyū stood next to you, waiting for the other two to join. Your brain continued to bug you for ten minutes, and only got worse upon notice of their outfits. Both in their uniforms. You felt your face flush in embarrassment, wanting to hide behind the water hashira as Mitsuri and Iguro spotted you both.
“Hi!” Misturi waved enthusiastically before gasping your name. “Your kimono is so cute!” Unconsciously, you slightly hide yourself behind Giyū, not enjoying all the eyes on you. This is exactly why you didn’t like standing out in a crowd.
“Thank you,” You muttered, hand grasping gently at Giyū’s haori. Normally, you wouldn’t have such a harsh reaction to being in such a position, but you could feel Iguro’s eyes watching your every move, judging your every decision. But you’d have to endure it, for Mitsuri’s sake.
Giyū wasn’t faring much better. He hadn’t expected you to become so shy, using him as a shield. It made him feel a bit prideful and protective, you had chosen him even though you had been friends with Kanroji for longer. Though he also felt a bit embarrassed, unsure how to react to such a situation. He had never thought someone he found attractive would look at him, let alone find comfort in him in such a way.
You all had entered the restaurant, Mitsuri trying not to squeal at the site before her. She had been trying to refrain from mentioning how your relationship with Giyū seemed to be some romantic plot from a novel she’s read. Every detail you shared with her had her blushing in excitement. She had recalled when you told her you didn’t expect to find love in this lifetime. As a demon slayer, you had little freetime, and the fact that you never knew if the day was going to be your last would loom over you until demons were eradicated. So having friends was tough, and a lover even tougher. She couldn’t be more overjoyed by the fact that you had managed to find someone even with the complications. Which led her to this master plan with Obanai, a secret double date (it would be a double date in her heart). A double date where only one person knew of it as such.
Once you all got in, you found yourself feeling more comfortable. You found yourself in a comfortable conversation with Mitsuri, both your companions silent as they eyed the other up. It was a comical site for anyone who witnessed it. Mitsuri had beat us all in the amount she consumed, a bright smile as she asked for another. The atmosphere was warm in the small restaurant, the night sky shining through the windows. You slightly felt bad for Iguro and Giyū, as they both seemed out of their element, but overall it was a fun night. It almost felt like a date due to the fact Giyū insisted on walking you home.
It didn’t take long after that night for you to realize your feelings. You were helping two lower ranked demon slayers defeat a demon. At the end of the battle they had checked in on the other, making sure they were both relatively okay before embracing. It had reminded you of how you treated Giyū, and suddenly it all came crashing down on you. You were in love with Giyū Tomioka. The two demon slayers had thanked you, as you weren’t there to help them initially. They were surprised at how kind you were towards them, remarking how they heard all the hashira’s were cold. You quickly waved them off with a slight laugh, explaining how most of you were just trying to get by like the rest of them.
You had continued to stew on your feelings, unable to think of anything else. Your mind had been so dangerously drifting off, you found yourself injured. Not gravely, thankfully, but enough for you to end up in butterfly manor.
“It’s rare to find you here,” Kochō commented as she cleaned your wound, causing you to wince. “Is something the matter? Have you finally realized the lack of heart Tomioka has?”
You frowned, unsure if unpacking your feelings to Kochō was the right play. It wasn’t due to Tomioka’s lack of heart, rather how much heart he has. Your eyes drifted to the sword leaned against the wall next to your current bed, the omamori charm dangling tauntingly.
“No,” You confessed, hands clenching as she cleaned a particularly deep wound. “It’s actually quite the opposite.”
You took slight satisfaction in the surprise Kochō’s eyes held, but her empty smile didn’t waver, “Don’t tell me he’s managed to trick you somehow.”
“No,” You once again simply answered. “It’s all my own doing.” That was true, in a sense. Of course you couldn’t control your own feelings, but it was you who pushed past Giyū’s barriers and managed to sneak your way into his heart, just as he had snuck his way into yours. Though you weren’t sure if he viewed you in such a way, and you didn’t want to push him farther than he could handle.
Without pause, Kochō took out a suture kit, threading the needle. Your eyes widened in horror. You’ve only needed stitches very few times, and the nausea you felt when a needle was presented never left. Mercifully, Kochō took out a balm and applied it to the skin around your wound.
Waiting for a few moments to let the balm numb your skin, she spoke up, “Don’t get your hopes too high with him.” It was at that moment that you realized that Kochō was looking out for you…in a passive aggressive way. Although you didn’t exactly like the way she showed this care (by insulting Giyū), you still felt touched that she even cared in the first place.
“Don’t worry,” You shrugged. “They’re never really high in the first place.” It was that moment she deemed worthy to pierce your skin.
You didn’t need too many stitches thankfully, but even with the numbing the process was excruciating. You were relieved when the bandages were finally applied and Kochō bid you farewell. You were sore all over, waiting for the medicine Kochō made you take to finally kick in. Not only were you sore and tired, but you felt slightly ashamed. You allowed your emotions to overtake you and get injured in battle. You were a hashira, these simple things weren’t meant to let your guard down.
You had been so absorbed in your thoughts, you hadn’t noticed said water hashira entering your room. Kochō hadn’t been too surprised when she saw him stalking down the hall as she exited your room. With your previous conversation, and the bits Kanroji accidentally let slip, she had pieced together that Tomioka wasn’t all she thought he was. It was hard for her to believe that he would care about someone, but now that she witnessed the terror that shone in his blue eyes, he had even managed to surprise her.
“They’re resting,” Kochō said, a fake smile lifting the corners of her lips. “Visiting hours aren’t open for them yet.”
Giyū didn’t even pause, continuing his trek to your room. It didn’t matter that his crow had told him you were only mildly injured, or the fact that Kochō left your room (a clear indicator that you were fine), he needed to see that you were okay with his own eyes. He had lost so much already, and he surrendered himself of such attachments, not only because he didn’t deserve it, but because he didn’t want to go through that again. You had managed to brighten his days again, he looked forward to waking up, wondering if he’d get to hear you laugh that day. All the good came crashing down the second he heard of your injured state.
You were both demon slayers, hashira at that, so you were bound to face injury. Yet he couldn’t help but blame himself. For what? Even he wasn’t sure, but he felt like it was due to the fact you were close to him. Karma for being the one to always survive. So when he quietly opened the sliding door, a breath of relief passed his lips as he saw you stare out the window. The sun hit your figure, causing a warm glow to light up your features. The usual smile that was on your face had turned into a frown, eyes distant. He wasn’t sure what to do. He had accomplished his mission, he’s seen you with his own eyes and you’re breathing perfectly fine, although the bandages that littered your face tugged at his heartstrings.
“Oh, hello,” You spoke softly, snapping Giyū out of his thoughts.
“Are you okay?” He asked, internally berating himself for asking such a stupid question. Of course you aren’t okay, you're sitting in a hospital bed at butterfly manor.
“I’m fine,” You smiled slightly. “Just some small injuries. Honestly all this pampering is a little too much if you ask me.” That was a slight lie on your part. It was clearly not just small injuries, or you wouldn’t have been taken to butterfly manor. You felt bad for the poor kakushi that had to tend to your injuries enough so you wouldn’t bleed out as they carried you all the way here.
Giyū also seemed to sense your lie, his blue eyes unwavering from their intense stare. His eyes raked your body, trying to pinpoint all the injuries that littered your body. Fortunately for you, most of the injuries were hidden by your clothes and blanket. With a sigh, you patted the bed, gesturing for him to sit and join you. He did so hesitantly, ending up sitting as close to the edge as he could. You felt your mood lighten at the sight, the seriousness from before slowly dissipating.
“You can sit closer silly,” You chuckled lightly. He scooted just slightly, and you smiled at him. “Okay so maybe I needed some stitches, but that was the worst of it. Really, I’m fine.”
Giyū’s shoulders slumped, finally he seemed to be able to calm down. You were fine, truly. You were still there, still sitting by him, still smiling at him, still laughing. Your breath hitched at how intense his gaze was. You felt your face flush as he stared at you with utter adoration. You felt your own gaze soften, probably matching his own.
“It was my own fault,” You muttered, hoping to quell his worries further. “I was distracted, but that won’t happen again.” His eyebrows furrowed, the silent question in his eyes being loud enough for you to understand. Scratching your cheek, you looked away to try and hide your embarrassment. Should you just say it? Get it off your chest? Would he be weirded out?
“I was thinking about you.”
Now you both were avoiding eye contact, flustered more than you’d like to admit. He hadn’t expected that. What exactly were you thinking? Have you been thinking about him often? It left him feeling warm at the thought. For some odd reason, it made him happy.
The silence between you both grew, and you felt more anxious the longer it lasted. “Not…not  in a weird way,” You defended weakly, fidgeting with your fingers in your lap. Glancing up at him your eyes widened in wonder as a tiny smile pulled on the edges of his lips, red dusting his cheeks and the tips of his ears. If you could capture this moment, you would in a heartbeat. Deciding that now was your chance, you ripped the bandaid off.
“I think I’m in love with you.”
This time Giyū stared at you in disbelief, and you wondered if you did the wrong thing. But he had smiled earlier! The first smile you had ever seen grace his beautiful features. Perhaps you came to the wrong conclusion. Both of you stared at the other, waiting for the other to make a move. Your heart beat faster and faster the longer he stayed frozen. His entire face and neck was engulfed in a violent shade of red, and you were scared you might’ve broken him.
“You don’t have to love me back or anything,” The words quickly tumbled passed your lips. “And I understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore. That’s a weird thing to confess to your friend.”
That seemed to snap him back, he looked down at his lap, trying to regain composure. He found it harder and harder to remain stoic in your presence. The emotions he repressed would always flow to the forefront when you were around, and although it could be overwhelming at times, he still welcomed the feelings. Not sure how to convey his feelings properly (he surely didn’t trust his mouth to say the right thing), he scooted a little closer to you. You watched with bated breath, unsure where he stood on your feelings (he really didn’t make it easy to read him either).
“I reciprocate your feelings,” He replied, voice wavering just slightly. You blinked, unsure if you heard him correctly. You weren’t sure what you expected, but such a formal response actually made you feel a bit better. Clearly this was new to both of you and you both weren’t sure how to go about this new territory. But that was fine, because you both could traverse it together.
Only a few days later, Mitsuri had managed to visit you. Giyū had refused to leave your side, assisting you with the simplest tasks. You felt bad for the girls who brought you your necessities as Giyū would watch their every move, ensuring you got all that you needed. When Mitsuri entered your room, she hadn’t expected to see the water hashira sitting next to you, let alone so close! Her green eyes took in the scenario, Giyū not meeting her gaze as he felt flustered that he was caught. You smiled brightly at the love hashira, welcoming her into the room.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t get here sooner,” She apologized.
“It’s okay,” You waved off her concern. “Giyū-kun has been keeping me company.”
Mitsuri couldn’t hold back her squeal, the two of you clearly have grown closer, dare she say you two have a more intimate relationship. Giyū looked even more flustered, head turned away from the both of you.
“You have to tell me everything!”

𖤐 A MODERN READER THAT CAN'T TALK IN JAPANESE 𖤐
Tumblr media
Warnings: Yandere behaviors, manipulation, possessiveness.
Tumblr media
Note: I'd perish on my own accord if they send me here I swear. An experiment for a first post in kny fandom (・x・)/.
Featuring: Douma X Gender Neutral Reader.
Tumblr media
i. gracious founder.
Summary: Many would be more than willing to have a chance of a life you were living. Not you, it was a nightmare..
The moon was overcast by darkness overhead.
Tumblr media
[ DOUMA - 童磨 ]
“Truly a poor thing you are... why don't you come back with me? It's dangerous wandering out there at night.”
Tumblr media
Obviously, you have to accept whatever he voiced at you (he was inquiring if you'd like to go with him).
And so you were at his abode...
You kept saying "Hello." Or "Goodbye." Which came off as quite baffling for him. Like you can't speak normally.
The demon was a bit too stunned to comment at first.
"Can you understand me?" He prompted you.
Then it made sense for him! You were a foreigner, weren't you? This had him watching you with a broad grin.
Now, now.. He can't have you being like that here. As someone once said. Education matters, does it not?
So — he'll be instructing you on learning the basics of the fundamentals. You looked sharp, this should be a cakewalk.
(Your ADHD self would throw hands at him if you could.)
Hmmm, he doesn't really can tell about how you got isekai'd into the universe of Kimetsu No Yaiba however. Luckily.
You'll take this secret to the grave with you.
Although he was drawn to you because of 'something.'
"Maybe it's fate!" He chirped like a puppy with you.
He enjoyed feeding you treats like you were his pet. Oh, it'd be a waste, right? So you better keep eating that.
You only were able to do easy phrases but he seemed delighted enough. You dreaded the day you'd end up in his belly because.. you weren't even a slayer to begin with.
He could break your neck if he wanted to.
His favoritism didn't help in the slightest. Other people weren't on friendly terms with you. You were miserable.
As the time flew by, the season changed.
Your Japanese was average to comprehend his message now. You hated to admit this... he wasn't an awful mentor....
You missed your home.
A firm arm draped around your shoulders, the humming gave away whose it was. It was Douma, no doubt about it.
You suspected it was a setup. He did it on 'purpose.'
It intrigued him when your breathing hitched at his arrival.
You backed yourself away and you asked a question.
"Why would I isolate you? Is my little fox mad?" He pouted.
His rows of teeth were unlike human's ones.
Was he supposed to be a cult leader? How repulsive.
"I loathe you." You spat in your second language.
His smile was faltering at your words, there was a shift in his expression as he snapped his hand fan close after that.
"I wonder what you stated about me." His tone was a jab.
He patted your head like you were nothing in his eyes. There was venom underneath and in his sentence. A disapproval.
This confirmed it, he was a sick bastard ಠ_ಠ.
Earning an ire from everyone was the last thing you needed.
Despite that he had no clue on your mother tongue.
It was also unbeknownst to you—
...Since The Upper Rank Two was fluent in English.

HAPPY 300 CHAPTERS FOR INKY MYSTERY!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
300 Chapters And the Quest continues May they have a prosper journey As they find the Cure.
[poem lol]
MY 300 CHAPTER ART (w/ text and textless versions)
(this looks straight up brought from an anime scene💀)
[Warning cringe ahead💀]
Because of Inky Mystery, i wouldn't have gotten in this level of coloring (this is my first art of ACTUALLY manipulating colors) my other arts where you see it (tho faintly) are my later application of my color manipulation - i like to call it that way lol. I can tell I definitely improved a lot in my artstyle. Learning rubberhose was a first, I'd say, and Tap and Mercowe's writing? It inspired me to do my own and only (poorly written and horrible) book in wattpad (i will not recommend u the cursed book, also i dropped my wattpad, mainly for storage reasons, and secondary for inactivity)
But all in all, Inky Mystery was one of the BEST that I've read so far (mangas included) I can't be thankful enough that i found this masterpiece.
And i actually attempted to draw a portion of Toon Town, which i can personally say bad, but its a start!
While looking at this piece longer, I can actually see my mistakes... Dont mention it, ik it lookes bad 😂 This is one of my longest and largest art to work on so far (the other one was my Book 10 cover art), tho this one is so large that i had to separate making the bg & text/effects and the characters.
I finished this piece wayyyyy back (just weeks ago) bcoz of school. I know i wont be able to continue this if i extend it even further (i dont rlly want this to finish early, but i was forced to do so, nonetheless i had fun making this!)
I listened to many songs while making this, but this one's the most notable one (and the most fitting for the theme of my art garbage) :
(from Kimetsu no Yaiba: season 3 op song)
@theinkymystery @thisanimatedphantom @mercowe <333333333
_________________________________________
My 2 early versions of the 300 chapter art
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looks bad right? (ESPECIALLY THE SECOND ONE, I MADE IT SO LAZY THAT I JUST PUT THEIR POSSESSIONS INSTEAD OF THEM 💀 Cussing ironic) The new one is basically the remake of the first version (the one w/ yellow bg and the characters' back on the audience)
The other-than-yellow-orange-colored dotted lights represent their souls in the second piece of shit i made💀(its an embarrassing piece but not embarrassing enough for me to hide it, wut--)
Funfact: both the 'Inky Mystery' (yellow bg) piece and 300 chapter art had me suffering of Boris 💀 (had to adjust boris bcoz of his height in the IM yellow bg piece, while the direction Boris is facing is my problem in the 300 ch art. Tried flipping him to the left but it looked off, so i sticked to the og, him facing his right)

Looking for Roleplay Partners
About Me:
Descriptive Roleplayer. My minimum is five computer lines and I can write up to two paragraphs when really interested invested to an rp. (My Writing Samples)
I rp 1x1, and not groups. I've tried it several times, and it became hard to follow so I really don't do them.
I am Eastern Daylight Time, but different time zones are completely fine with me. The more partners the better! :)
I am looking for long term roleplay partners that I can be able to talk, plot and rp with.
I love to plan out roleplays and make tons of headcanons and such as we go!
I roleplay in third person. First and second just feels weird to me.
I rp oc x oc (original only) and oc x canon. Canon x canon really doesn't keep my interest for long so I avoid it when I can.
We can double up or do one on one. If we do the latter, I have a preference of playing my oc or being the female lead.
For all fandoms I am apart of, I have an descriptive oc at the ready for whenever I rp. The same if we roleplayed an original storyline/setting.
Some fandoms have their own storylines and plots to go with them as well!
For some roleplays, I know some people like to take the romantic route, but I'm open to any. You can do romantic, platonic, or even familial routes with any character when we roleplay.
Fandom-wise, I'm also a big fan of crossover roleplays as well. But that can be up for you to decide.
I'm always open to listening to my partner and their boundaries. So if there's something about an rp that makes you uncomfortable, we can work a ways around it to solve the problem.
I have the preference of building up to a scene instead of just jumping into it. Whether it be casual or sexual.
I don't like love triangles, but i'm open to polyamorous relationships in rps. I can play up to three partners.
Preferred Genres:
Romance
Action/Adventure
Slice of Life
Drama
Comedy
Friendship/Platonic
Big NOS:
I do not enjoy being ghosted. If you don't want to continue roleplaying, or there's something about my style you don't like, please tell me instead of just never replying again.
I will have no homophobic, transphobic or any other negative talk about anything from my partner. If that is an attitude that you are going to have, I'd rather not rp with you.
Communication is a big thing with me. So if you want to be my partner, do not just message me and start commanding me on what to do. if you have something in mind, please tell me and we can plan it out together, but bossing me around before we even start is going to make me not want to rp with you.
I will not do horror or historical based storylines.
It isn't a big no, but I'm not a big fan of triangles.

“Intruding on one soul is something I won't allow. This trespassing of yours shall not stand!”
-          Tanjiro Kamado, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (Ep. 04)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for November 2023. After two years of being stuck in “Crunchyroll Jail”, Demon Slayer has finally returned to the better cartoon show to premiere the highly acclaimed Mugen Train arc. And it’s not alone, as Dr. Stone has also returned to resume the second half of the 3rd season, the New World, while IGPX returns to the lineup for the first time in 10 years, as Discotek releases an HD Remaster of Toonami’s first original series.
November 4-5 was a post-Halloween marathon night, as Toonami re-aired Part 1 of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters, in addition to the first two episodes of IGPX due to the extra hour the block got due to the end of Daylight Savings. In terms of trending, both shows trended in the USA, although the former got some assistance as Part 2 was just released in Japan and on simulcasting. For the night of November 11-12, the premiere night of Demon Slayer and Dr. Stone, #Toonami trended in the USA alongside Demon Slayer and Dr. Stone. #Toonami also trended on Tumblr alongside Demon Slayer and One Piece. On November 18-19, #Toonami trended in the USA on Twitter and on Tumblr, while Demon Slayer and Dr. Stone both trended in the US. And on November 25-26, #Toonami trended in the USA alongside Dr. Stone and IGPX.
The feature for November 11 was a new ID bump made by The Foreign Correspondents' Club. You can check it out below.
The feature for November 18 was a game review of Sea of Stars, a role-playing video game by Sabotage Studio that is available on modern platforms. TOM and SARA have called it a modern-day rendition of the classic Chrono Trigger video game.
youtube
And for November 25, Toonami aired another new ID bump featuring TOM and SARA trying out an explosive new weapon, this time from MoreFrames AnimationCo.
With Demon Slayer finally back on the lineup, Toonami has plenty of Demon Slayer to catch up on. Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train arc is only 7 episodes long, given it’s a TV version of the hit Mugen Train film. But there is also the Entertainment District Arc, which will be an addition 11 episodes in length to complete season 2. Followed by the 11-episode Swordsmith Village Arc that makes up season 3. During the Aniplex panel on Saturday morning at Anime NYC, it was announced that the Entertainment District Arc will also be making its way to Toonami on January 13, following the completion of Mugen Train.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Demon Slayer fans will have plenty more to celebrate in the future, as the official Kimetsu no Yaiba Japanese website has already confirmed that a fourth season is in production, to cover the Hashira Training arc. Additional details are to be revealed on December 10.
When it rains, it pours, and with Toonami rekindling relationships with Aniplex (and potentially all of Sony-Crunchyroll LLC), Aniplex USA has announced on Friday at Anime NYC this weekend that a second show is also on the way for the better cartoon show. Lycoris Recoil, an original anime series directed by Shingo Adachi, the character designer and chief animation director of Sword Art Online, will be joining the Toonami lineup on January 20, as the first new acquisition in the 2024 calendar year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luffy from One Piece made his debut on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade this year, as he had his own float parading down the streets of New York City for the very first time. Anime was well represented, as he was joined by a Goku float from Dragon Ball Super, as well as a Christmas themed Pikachu and Eevee float from Pokémon. Unfortunately, Luffy’s hat would deflate after it got snagged by a tree branch due to strong winds in the area. The float was still able to fly and would later be showcased on the NBC broadcast, albeit with Luffy’s straw-hat looking like a bucket hat as a result of the tear and partial deflation.
Tumblr media
Finally, Toonami has announced marathon nights for Christmas and New Year’s as the block winds down with the year coming to a close. For Christmas week on December 23, Toonami will air all 7 episodes of Dr. Stone: New World Part 2 it has aired to that point from Midnight to 3:30 a.m. EST. While for New Year’s week on December 30, Toonami will air all 7 episodes of Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train arc from midnight to 3:30 a.m.
Until next time, we hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, congrats to the Texas Rangers for winning the World Series, and see you again next week as always.

Music Tag Game!
I was tagged by @m34gs (in this post). Also doing this in a new post because I don't like it when posts get cluttered. I love doing these, but bold to assume I have ten mutuals/followers to tag.
Also, time to out myself for majority of my songs are not mainstream music...
Rules: When you see this, post 5 songs you actually listen to and tag 10 of your followers/mutuals!
MWTWB by Amalee
The entire album by Amalee relates to her Vtuber character, The Monarch and the backstory to her. While I like all the songs on the album, MWTWB (Messing with the Wrong Bitch) is my favourite because it has strong Vil from Twisted Wonderland vibes. That's honestly a big reason why I love the song so much. However, besides that I love the entire theme of the song is "Fuck Around and Find Out". My favourite lyric to the song is, "Uh-oh! Keep making me mad and it will be off with your head." because I love a good Alice in Wonderland reference.
2. The Rumbling/Under the Tree by SiM
I know this is cheating, but I believe these two songs need to be listened in conjunction. These are the two openings to the final season of Attack on Titan. The Rumbling is written in Eren's perspective and Under the Tree is written in Mikasa's. What I love about these two songs is how they capture the essence of the two characters. Both have changed significantly since season one and this change has caused a lot of heart ache (and death).
Eren is focused on what he feels is his "duty" with lyrics such as, "If I lose it all, slip and fall, I will never look away." At this point in the series, Eren feels there is no other path he can take, no matter the cost.
Meanwhile, Mikasa's song has heartbreaking lyrics like "Where are you at? / Where have you been?" and "Why oh why, why oh why/Don't you want to stay with me?"
This truly feels like the two are in conversation with one another, with Under the Tree Mikasa's response to Eren's song. That kind of duality always gets to me in songs. I love when songs connect to one another and these two do it perfectly.
3. homura by LiSA
Oh look, another anime song. How predictable of me. Anyways, while most people cite Gurenge as their favourite Kimetsu no Yaiba song, I think homura is my favourite.
Even if this song wasn't from an anime, the lyrics to this farewell song are heartbreaking. Right at the beginning, the "Sayonara, arigatou koe no kagiri" ("Goodbye" and "thank you" at the top of my voice") pulls at my heartstrings. The next part, "Kanashimi yori motto daiji na koto" or, "What is more important than grief?" really hits me hard.
Also, my link is to LiSA's performance on The First Take and her voice is breathtaking. Absolutely stunning.
4. Avid by Hiroyuki Sawano
From the anime Eighty-Six, this soft, but powerful song always makes me want to cry. The repetition of "Don't you get there?/ It calls, it calls" makes this song feel haunting, like someone long gone talking to you. Which, given Eighty-Six's plot, makes sense.
5. Love From The Other Side by Fall Out Boy
Oh, look, a mainstream song that I could play at work and not be accused of only listening to anime songs. Finally, right? (Not that anyone accuses me of that, but they definitely could and get away with it.)
Uh, I know I've talked about this song in a prior ask somewhere on my blog, but to repeat myself: I like Fall Out Boy. I'm not a huge fan, but I have a smattering of songs from them that I really like. This is one of their newest songs and I was immediately hooked as soon as I heard the lyric, "What would you trade the pain for? Not sure". I'm just always here for songs that have questions to the listener that make you pause and think for a second. I also love the reference in, "We were a hammer to the Statue of David". My minimal two years of art history jumped in glee.
Time to tag. If this isn't your cup of tea, no pressure! Also if you dislike being tagged in things like this, let me know!
Tagging: @someobscurereference @a-little-harmed-shinra @shreedle @serenescribe @zeldabard and @lonery-w

Is this normal for Demis or are these just me???
I have ADHD so this just getting bigger lol but I guess this can apply to anyone, esp the second part, but in this case it's in a semi context for me?
Tumblr media
A fun and interesting aspect of being #demisexual and #demiromantic (at least towards functional characters in my case as that's what this is about and I've only ever felt this way towards them, probably a psychological thing tbh) or it could just be a me thing... Either way!
Is that the longer I hyperfixate or enjoy a fandom for extended periods of time I tend to slowly fall for more people even YEARS after I started it and I pick it back up later. 😂
Like in Demon Slayer / Kimetsu no Yaiba this past week or the week before I fell for Obanai. Like I had no inkling of an idea that this would happen . I have now fallen for all but one of the Hashira men (men, not male), Gyomei and also have fallen for Yoriichi.
Tumblr media
Like... when I first watched it, I would not of been able to tell you this, heck I believe when I first read/finished the manga I had one. ONE guy I simped for being Kyojuro, I believe. Maybe two (second being Giyu) as I have no sense of time, but I know Sanemi was the third for me, and that happened AFTER I finished the manga.
Like I felt nothing for most of them, heck any of them for a while, given I watched season 1 when it came out partially and felt nothing, then the rest when the Mugen train movie came out, still nothing. Then I watched the second season and read the manga and finished it immediately after. (The second season being when I was like Oh SHIT. NO. HE DIES. HEART WHYYY) And now I feel like I am unintentionally "playing pokemon" with the adult male slayers (to count Yoriichi in) like.... 😂
I don't think I'll fall for any of the Oni / demons.... but that's under my terms as for me looking at their human forms and the Oni / demon forms is like comparing Crisis Core Sephiroth to when the Jenova virus/genetics has taken over his mind, or like a zombie virus, they aren't quite the same people imo. Like I simp for Sane Sephiroth, not the most famous/infamous one lol. So like an example: Hakuji =/= Akaza, as he's not himself when he's an Oni.
That being said I've gotten attached to a few of those former lives so time will tell I guess? If that attachment will go anywhere else? 😂😅
(Note: so far I've never felt that sort of attraction towards women- just squishes, would like to be QPPs or kinning at most- so I'm assuming I'm demi-het but I don't have enough experience with NB characters to know yet for sure. But for all I know any of that can change. 🤷‍♀️ Everytime I happens in general it takes me by surprise lol)
ALSO THINKING ABOUT HAVING FEELINGS ABOUT TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF CHARACTERS, this might get controversial/ me cancelled but fuck it
Tumblr media
A REALLY WEIRD THING (might also just be a me thing, that might get me cancelled but y'know fuck it) is being attracted to a character's adult version, like in fan art??? So like attracted to aged up versions of characters.
For example, Eijiro Kirishima from MHA. Like I feel absolutely nothing towards canon Kirishima other than he's a sweet baby that needs protected at all costs. But then I saw a fan art of adult him huge and buff/beef cake with long but still kinda spiky hair similar to l Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates or Like Axel/Lea from Kingdom Hearts (that might of been not helping ) and I feel attracted to that specific version of him. Like very, very, specifically, even other fanarts of a grown up versions of him just doesn't hit me without that hair or him without long hair and idk why. I don't normally feel attracted to someone bc of physical qualities so I cannot even phantom an explainstion😅😂
LIKE THIS PICTURE RIGHT HERE, THIS EXACT PICTURE STARTED IT I HAD TO GO FIND IT and it just makes me feel mushy everytime, credit in alt text:
Tumblr media
So like when I watch the anime or read the manga it just feels like looking at an old school picture book, photo albums and videos at MOST. Like PRECIOUS BEAN, I protecc. That is a child, a puppy. I could NEVER. And then I see the fan adult version of him and I swear it's like two brothers?? or a dad and son??? but it's the same character and like...?? It makes me feel real weird and awkward bc like... yeah he has Kirishima's personality 1:1 but I don't feel that way about actual canon Kirishima myself as that is A HUGE NO. That is a baby in my eyes.💀🤢 Like I legitimately usually watch/read with me thinking of me/my sona as married to Aizawa and helping the class or with Keigo/Hawks. (Or a sane, au version of Touya/Dabi but that's less typical bc the canon one also is a big no for me, he is scary 😬😰)
This also has happened with Bakugo and Shouto too later, like.... y'all need to stop with the adult versions of them bc they're making me feel things which are kinda controversial (at least on TikTok) which makes me feel kinda anxious about it all 😵‍💫, and then like I create two versions of them in my head because I just love the fandom adult versions of them??? And it feels separate from the canon version?
And at least with TikTok's climate I couldn't tell many people this in like comments, bc they immediately assume I am a predator- which like esp if not specified I can get 💯 but like. It's not like that 💀 I stumbled upon some fan art of a guy who could be his elder brother or father and like that is who I like.
Is this somewhat normal or just me??? 😭😰

PAC 5 : MESSAGES FROM NATURE
Greetings. The 5th Pick-A-Card Mochi brings is a part of a series planned. They will be messages from the various persons/universe has for you.
The motifs for this series will be the Twelve Months in Japanese, split into four parts depicting the different seasons. The four seasons will represent the four different messages for you from people and things, and there will be three piles to pick from each season.
For this second part of the series, it would be Summer, bringing you the messages you need to hear from nature, what the sun wants to tell you; what the rain wants to tell you; what the breeze wants to tell you.
Remember, this is a general reading and I do not expect anyone to resonate with it completely. Take only whatever you need to hear, and leave the rest. Although I believe algorithms play a part in this, I also believe that if you feel a pull or a connection to this PAC, there may be a message in it for you.
Ground yourself, take a few deep breaths, and pick your pile.
This Pick A Card is solely for my entertainment purposes. Take only whatever you feel like it. If it doesn’t resonate, it’s okay to just drop it.
Decks used: Linestrider Tarot Deck, Luna Cat Tarot Deck (Major Arcana), Flower Petals Oracle Deck, Sweet Dreams Oracle Deck.
The piles go from left to right.
Tumblr media
.
Found your pile? Let’s go!
Pile 1: Satsuki
Tumblr media
Satsuki, or also known as Sanaetsuki, is the month of early-rice planting. I would like to associate this month as a month of growth, a month where you plant your seeds and work hard with the aim and goal of a bountiful harvest in the end.
The flower for this month is the wisteria flower. It bears different meanings according to its colour and culture, but generally it represents love, fertility, beauty, creativity. Lavender coloured wisteria could also mean delicateness, refinement, grace, and most of all, royalty.
For some reason, I’m reminded of the wisteria flower in Kimetsu-no-Yaiba (The Demon Slayer) anime. The wisteria flower is known to be poisonous to the demons, but bears no harm to humans. With this, it could also mean some form of purity and strength to some other people.
This was the first art I worked on and I had fun but also there’s some form of pain in it as well. Honestly speaking, all art in this series has driven me up the wall at some point, but this was probably the easiest to work with. It’s probably of the colours.
First of all, I’d like to address the fear y’all have been feeling, the sense of vulnerability y’all have been hiding and ignoring. No, ignoring them doesn’t change the fact that they’re still there. It’s alright to feel weak and afraid, it’s alright to search and ask for help. It sure isn’t easy to step out to ask for help when you’re so used to hiding in your own shell and pretending things are alright, but the warmth of someone else’s hands are strong and gentle to be able to guide you out from the conflict you have in your head. Your vulnerability is not your weakness, but your strength. By allowing yourself to be vulnerable, you possess a greater strength than many could imagine, and by doing so, you allow yourself to be exposed to the wisdom and beauty of the world, as well as honouring your inner grace.
The scales are not balanced, so it’s time for you to check if you’re doing yourself justice. Check if you’ve been spending too much time on other people and have been ignoring yourself. For some reason, the thought of you spending time on your crush or a very close friend, and ending up ignoring yourself appeared in my head. If this is you, you may need to take some time back and work yourself a little before you continue spending your energy on another person. Remember, you are your own priority, and no one else out there should be feeding on your energy.
When you think Fate is not on your side, remember it’s you who needs to turn the wheels and head towards the direction you want to go. You are your own Captain, you decide where you wanna go, may it be the nearest port or wanting to stay the night in the middle of the sea.
Now the next message may sound conflicting but I feel it’s necessary. Some of you may have been the authoritative Captain, or the Captain that has been taken advantage of. Either of it will still put a huge burden on you and will make you crumble, questioning yourself and your position. You are called to listen with care and speak with kindness. When it’s time for you to take pride in your works, take pride in them; when it’s time for you to step back; then take a step back. Being mature and reasonable is not easy, but this is a lesson you’ll need to learn. Your past and current friendships may have taught you this and you need to take them in.
By growing, only then you’ll be able to welcome abundance into your life, only then you’ll be able to challenge life again, because you have accepted the vulnerability as part of yourself, you have opened your heart to your faults and mistakes, and have learnt to grow. Your fears won’t disappear overnight, but that’s when the healing process starts and you’re more comfortable in letting your intentions be known to the people you care about.
Song recommendation: Turbulence by ATEEZ. This song came up when I was typing and I really had to pause typing things out cuz I felt this connection between this pile and the song.

Pile 2: Minazuki
Tumblr media
Minazuki, the month of water, is the sixth month in the Japanese calendar. Water is usually needed for the rice fields, for the rice to grow well and feed the people. A month that makes me feel comfortable.
This pile gives me the feeling of dreams, sun, warmth and growth. There are three cards with Nine, and this itself already tells me that you’re on your way, close to achieving something already. It’s a time where you’re not thinking where to go, but how you wanna reach the path you’ve set.
You’ve been going through a lot of challenges. Somehow, for no reason, you find yourself being someone’s… Imaginative rival. It’s like someone doesn’t like you and often compares themselves to you, always wanting to win you in every possible manner and field. (I am hella close to saying that they’re kiasu af.) You tend to push them aside, as they definitely do not align with your values and purpose. But oftentimes, you continue to struggle. You are determined to not let them mess with you and your head, but there are times you will definitely feel overwhelmed, and of course, get defensive. Though I don’t see this defensive side of you in the open. It’s probably you ranting to your friends, or bottling them in you, or writing them down. In case no one has told you, remember that failure is not fatal. If anything, I think it’s telling you to take this time and retreat, check in on your own alignment, to cut away what’s not needed, clear out the weeds that are blocking your heart. Focus on wholeness, above and below. And in this case, focus on getting yourself whole again. You matter.
Hope is coming. Whenever shit gets bad, do be reminded that hope is there and things will get better. Sure, it can be difficult to believe that things will turn better when you’re deep in grief and pain, but hope will definitely shine on you. Do not let your fears eat you up, trust that things will be better and that there’s always a silver lining there. Manifesting would be a theme. Care for you now, care for you tomorrow, and life will present its gifts to you. Recognize your self worth and know that you’re doing well enough. And when an opportunity presents itself to you, go for it. Take that chance, take that jump. Remember that you manifest that chance, so go for it. That’s what you’ve been working and grinding for the entire while, so why pass it up? Once again, do not let your fears eat you up. Sure, the opportunity given to you may require you to do a bunch of changes and you’ll wonder if you can make it. And when that happens, remember that you came across this Pick A Pile and this pile is telling you that you’re good enough for whatever that’s offered to you. You can do it.
You’re a bright ray of sunshine, and sometimes you don’t see it yourself when you’re clouded by your own thoughts. Know that the rainy clouds are there only for a certain time, and you will dry up the tears of your beloved, giving them the hope and care they need. I wanna specifically mention that The Sun and The Star appeared. The sun’s also a star, since it shines on its own, so they can bear a similar energy. Just that one is visible during the day and one’s visible during the night. However, remember that they both are always existing to shine on Earth. This is you, your presence constantly lights up people’s lives. You may think you’ve not talked to a person for a long time and they may have forgotten about you, but no. You’re still on their minds. They may suddenly be reminded of something fun you said, or something warm you did. This, is you. You’re the sun, and it’s always brighter to have you there. Do not sell yourself short. Let go of self-criticism and the self-deprecating thoughts of yourself, be kind to yourself.
Dream. Dream big, dream wild. Life presents you opportunities via dreams at times, and use it to learn. Go to the places your dreams bring you, experience the wonders and the joys, relish and be delighted in it. You’ve been down for quite some time so let yourself lose, allow yourself to dream, and go on to tackle real life by making changes.

Pile 3: Fumizuki
Tumblr media
Fumizuki is the month of erudition, great knowledge. And kikyo, Japanese bellflower generally means unchanging love, honesty and obedience. I’d like to see this love directed towards oneself, living a life obedient to their true hearts and remaining honest to themselves.
I felt cold and a bit lost when I started to shuffle for this pile, where I immediately turned on another smol light on my table (even when the lights in my room were enough). I could feel a gust of cold wind blowing towards me and when the cards fell out, I immediately went “Ah, that’s why.”
There’s a sense of stagnancy, it’s like you’re supposed to be on a journey, or you’re ALREADY on a journey. And yet, you have not really taken up the chance to do self-exploration. It’s like… You’re covering your eyes, unwilling to see the various possibilities and strength you have around you. The wind is gushing you, trying to blow away the blindfold covering your eyes. It’s urging you to see, urging you to set yourself free from the various self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, and to step out to go on the journey you’re supposed to go.
You may think that you’ve rested enough and should get moving. But the thing is, you’re not really well rested. Because of that, you’re still feeling sluggish and find it very difficult to start doing things. Breathe in, breathe out. Sleep, and allow yourself to transition the old you into the new life you’re supposed to go. You need to be well rested, only then you’ll have the strength, both physically and mentally, maybe even emotionally and spiritually too. Slowly, take a step, two steps, and get moving. The wind is your strength, your compass. It is blowing towards the direction you need to head, so go.
Sometimes you may feel that the world is against you, you think you’re still unfit for a lot of things, believing that people around you are delusional and are having unrealistic expectations for you. Treat yourself with kindness, listen to your heart, be reminded that you have what it takes.
Take that step with courage. You’re not alone. Be ready, know that the best is on its way. I know that many people around you have already said so, but you just… Find it difficult to convince yourself. You’re wishful, wanting and hoping something good will be coming to you. Take this reading as a sign. I’m telling you, that something much better than the “good” you hope for will be coming. Stay strong as you ride through the waves. I’m here for you. Do remember to drop by and let us know once the best have arrived, okay? Let us all be happy for you.
I have a feeling that relationships play a huge part for the people who chose this pile, may it be friendship, romantic relationship, familial relationships, corporate relationships, etc. I’m feeling more of romantic relationships and friendships. It’s most probably family may have disappointed you in some way or another, and that you find solace in friendship, thinking you’re unworthy of romantic relationships. Just to share a phrase I saw from one of my favourite web-novel, “Become a better person, improve yourself, and you’ll be surrounded by people who are equally excellent.” You’ll attract people who are as excellent as you, no worries! You’ve learnt the lessons life has taught you, so it’s great that you’re looking at opportunities, and that abundance will come to you.
Are you treating yourself right? Are the scales in your heart and mind balanced? For some reason, I believe this pile calls out to those who are very obviously not balanced, mind and heart. I have a feeling that your brain and heart have been fighting for a very long time. Probably something like a tug-a-war, where both sides fight to see who’s the strongest, but in the end, both end up tired and lethargic, and neither was cared for. It would be great if they can take turns to work things together, instead of both the heart and mind ended up being battered and couldn’t deal with anything anymore.
Remember to tune in to your emotions and intuitions, to not let your anger consume you. For some reason, some of you may have anger issues, and have sometimes been acting authoritarian. I have a feeling that y’all may have recognized that trait in you and yet y’all decided to not do anything about it. Remember to put in effort in acknowledging your emotions, to face them and do something about them if they affect your daily life.
For some unknown reason, I feel that… If you’re single, a person may come to you when you’re down? Yeah I’m having this feeling… Hmmm we’ll see.

Spring 2023 Anime Round-Up
Lot's of good shows this season; Both sequels and new ones. It's also the first season in a while where I didn't drop any shows. That's more praise than I can give previous seasons to be honest.
Anime of the Season: Vinland Saga Season 2
Drops: N/A
Plans to Watch at a later date: Skip to Loafer
Completed:
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc - (7.5/10)
Tumblr media
Despite the still lavish productions, (and a season where I didn't have to listen to Zenitsu's annoying wails) this was a letdown of season. Especially given how The Entertainment District ended off. This arc getting the movie treatment would've benefited it a lot better. Episode 8 was the highlight by a mile.
Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage - (7/10)
Tumblr media
Boji and Kage best partners. Not much to say about this season since it was mostly side stories getting animated. Last episode left a lot of excitement for future installments of the series and I hope Wit continues to give it the same love and care.
Vinland Saga Season Two - (10/10)
Tumblr media
Calling Vinland Saga S2 a masterpiece of anime would be underselling it greatly. It's been a while since I've seen a cast of well written character go through so much growth and development over an arc. Anything more I could say would just be reiterating what other's have been saying for the past 6 months. Vinland Saga is good y'all.
The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2 - (7/10)
Tumblr media
Mahoyome came back with a new director, new studio and many many, many new characters. While there wasn't much plot this season, the world-building and new relationships were explored and developed very well. Good thing the second part of this is already confirmed for later this year, otherwise this score would be a lower. Here's hoping the animation also improves. I know were not at Wit anymore but..
Magical Destroyers - (5/10)
Tumblr media
Wathced this because the OP & ED were really good. Turns out it was the only good thing about it.
Also Pink-chan. Pink-chan was good.
Heavenly Delusion - (8/10)
Tumblr media
One of the best animated seasonal show's since Mob Psycho. Dystopian settings are some of my favorite in the media so I was always excited to watch this every Saturday. Unfortunately, time and time again, it left me with more questions and rarely gave answers. And the last two episodes were...enough for me to drop this down from a 9 to an 8. Another Spring show with a strong contender for Opening of the Year.
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 - (9/10)
Tumblr media
I've been craving a good romcom and this one delivered and then some. Morio Asaka is a talented director and his vision and directorial quirks really helped elevate this source material greatly. Akane is a disaster child and I will protect her from any harm (and alcohol). Really considering picking up the manga if a season 2 isn't gonna be announced.
Dead Mount Death Play - (7.5/10)
Tumblr media
Narita is back and doing what he does best; Balancing a dozen or so characters in a convoluted plot that revolves around a mysterious prefecture. This time, with a reverse isekai twist involved. Excited for the second cour of this.
Oshi no Ko - (9/10)
Tumblr media
I don't know how to describe my feelings on this show other than I loved every bit of it. Very excited for the second season and I hope the returning staff continue what they've been doing so far.
Next arc looks very very fun
MASHLE - (7/10)
Tumblr media
The adaption played it very safe and didn't go far beyond what was given to them which- for the most part -worked well enough for them. Obviously not gonna have the same staying power surrounding it like OPM and Black Clover, but it was entertaining and that's good enough.
Jigokuraku - (Hell's Paradise) - 5.5/10
Tumblr media
I was very disappointed with this adaption, if the score wasn't an enough of an indicator. MAPPA taking on so much titles is a bit of meme at this point but it sucks that an adaption I was greatly looking forward to came out this chopped and poorly-animated. Kaori Makita is a talented director so it's a shame that she was saddled to a show with an unreasonable deadline and limited staff to help her out. I wanna cope and say s2 will be better but I know better..
Only consolation I have is that this show was sacrificed so JJK and AOT will look good.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury S2 - (8/10)
Tumblr media
Didn't agree with everything that happened this season. And I think the writers just didn't know what to with Miorine after she was separated from Suletta. That being said, the last few episodes (when they finally did get reunited) were very very good. Also a fantastic finale episode. Glad this was the first Gundam anime I watched to completion. Now I patiently wait for the Sulemio wedding OVA.

Note
3, 4, 7, 8 (The Owl House), and 10
3. A fandom that doesn't really appeal to me would probably be the "Kimetsu No Yaiba" aka "Demon Slayer" fandom. I love the show and all, but I'm not caught up to the new season and there are other fandoms I prefer <3
4. Oh I've unfollowed people A LOT, and it's mainly because they either said the most horrible take ever on one of my favorite characters or that they make hating a pairing I like their whole personality, or they just don't give me good vibes, or they won't leave me or one of my mutuals alone for an insignificant thing!!
7. Something I used to like but now I can't stand would probably be the Naruto fandom, ESPECIALLY on Instagram, like they can't stop being gross towards women and queer people for 2 seconds :(
8. Unpopular opinion towards "The Owl House" fandom ... I love Hunter and all BUT HE'S NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER like people tend to think he is! I also dislike when people put down A LOT of harmless non-canon AND canon pairings simply because "they're overshadowing Luz and Amity" like NO????? people being excited for Raine and Eda angst or Willow and Hunter crumbs and even a reunion between Gus and Matt IS NOT THREATENING AT ALL, ESPECIALLY since Luz and Amity are dating AND THRIVING, if I say so myself! (plus, stop harassing multi-shippers!) Since they're the main ship AND going in a good direction right now, it makes sense that people are raving about their OTHER favorites, and I'm not saying people can't be bothered about Luz and Amity not being the only pairing in the show, but maybe start using the unfollow/block/filter button, am I right???
10. A fandom I'm ashamed of being in .... maybe the "Varian and the 7 Kingdoms" fandom SINCE IT'S JUST AN AU, IDK WHY I'M OBSESSED???
