I'll be breaking this fat fueled fast around this time tomorrow.
Weird how I was so staunch with my "no more longer fasts for me!!" proclamations for the past several months. Then I re-read a Dave Asprey book and I do two within about a week of each other 😅.
Mucus is bad, but I'm hoping that's because I had peanuts again for a couple of days. I'm off them again now, at least for a long while.
Up a little later than usual this morning. My sleep isn't so bad right now. Still up once or twice because of my silly bladder, but I can't fix everything 😋
I did a 20 minute kettlebell strength workout, then got myself outside for my daily sunrise walk.
It was a shorter than usual workout, as I have always gone with 30 minutes. But 20 was fine for today.
Full body, two moves for each muscle group.
And now I'm back in my oodie, sipping the first of today's three (or maybe even four, lol) bulletproofs 😍.
No other workouts today. Maybe another little walk later.
Today is about "self care". It's so important to allow days like that now and then.
Went circuit mode for the second Upper pull/Lower push day. Not sure I like it better, aside from 3x with around 2.5 min rest lasting all of about 20 minutes or so and my HR blasting through my chest. A decent session nevertheless.
Okay, last Hellripper tune for the week. Today's is "The Hanging Tree" from the great record, 'The Affair of the Poisons'
I reckon I was experiencing Binge Eating Disorder for a good 8 years before I even considered that diagnosis (or any diagnosis), and have had deep shame about body image since I reckon about 11 years old. I know I'm not alone in the male population in those experiences and would love to get more guys feeling comfortable talking about it.
I did a course recently on Intuitive Eating with Nadia Felsch and during one of our chats, I lamented that I felt like there was a bit of a dearth of male body positivity / ED recovery figures, particularly bigger guys in the 'health and fitness' space.
There's obviously plenty of big guys out there training, but their content focus often felt like it was either on weight loss, particularly shame fuelled weight loss, or alternatively didn't consciously discuss and engage with body positivity/neutrality from a male perspective.
So, part of my posting more is to just generate more content that I wish I could have seen a couple of years ago. Just a big dude, going to the gym for the love of moving his body and trying to get a bit stronger.
It's been a while since I've done "fasted" lifting — not in the traditionally fasting sense, just earlier morning and pre-meal. I used to always be an early morning lifter. Like 0500 lifter! Generally have never been big on eating large meals then lifting; always makes me feel sluggish and actually less energetic. Felt pretty good today getting back into the grove of things.

Today's A-Z selection is some Massachusetts thrashy deathy nerd metal, which is my own explanation but should be a proper genre imo. It's good shit from High Command.
Since my finger is still injured I can’t really do heavy pulling movements. I’ve been doing different kettlebell swings instead. If you can only get one piece of equipment I recommend a kettlebell. They are very versatile.
