Yesterday was the birthday of Heru-Wer (Haroeris), He With the Eyes of Moon and Sun! Admittedly we do not know this Name very well so we spent some time researching for offerings. His candle is scented with clove, cinnamon and orange with yellow wildflowers, citrine and agate. He also got mandarin oranges and a gingerbread cookie!
I'd like to get to know this Name better. Our lineup is VERY lunar while Em's partner (@be-your-bast) has a lineup that is very solar. So to have those two themes in one Netjer is FASCINATING to both of us. So if you have any interesting stories or information you'd like to share, please do!

OH-kay. so there's this p popular post going around talking about how fantasy books fall into an elemental / nature / whatever role gods when there were actually gods or personification of cities/ personification of local spot / special god dedicated to a singular lucky place etc etc etc and the post keeps going down to gods over the weirdest random shit and my good dudes two things can be and in fact were true
Fire Gods: Ra, Agni, Promethieus, Gerra, Svarog, Hesphestus
Thunder / Sky Gods: Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, Perun, Horus, Enil, Ba'al
Underworld Gods: Hades, Anubis, Osiris, Hel, Orcus, Arawn, Tuoni, Pluto
Water Gods: Posideon, Manannán mac Lir, Hapi, Leviathan, Neptune, Yam, Enki, Njord
Grain / Agriculture / Fertility Gods: Osiris, The Dagda, Saturn, Lugh, Freyr, Veles, Neper
this is clearly suuuuuper simplified, as it's late at night, and I've had a really shitty day, but a lot of ancient cultures did, in fact, have gods tied to the elements. Granted, most of them have a Lot of Roles that stray from that singular specific element
hell, a lot of fertility and agriculture deities often share roles and positions with water deities bec yknow water + plant = not starving people
and then there's a lot of minor things different deities cover as well ESPECIALLY through Epithets! granted I mostly know of Epithets mostly tied to Greek Religion and Mythos, but AGAIN those "elemental deities" often end up being patrons and protectors of certain cities and you can see that through the fairly popular myth tied to the Rivalry between Poseidon and Athena over Athens
ancient peoples tended to have gods that were tied to the forces of nature bec they didn't have the Big Science Facts on Fancy Weather. They had their stories, their religions and their gods
like I get the Point of the Big Popular Post complaining about the oversaturation of elemental pantheons in fantasy stories but tbfh if you want to have an elemental Pantheon in your WIPs then go for it my dudes, history is, in fact, on your side.
I'm just tired of people shitting on things. if you want an elemental magic based system for your gods, then do it!! If you don't, then dont!!! Don't listen to people who just want to complain

Re and the Creation of the World
In the beginning, there was only the primordial waters, Nun, an infinite expanse of darkness within which only existed chaos, known as is/f/et. From the waters of Nun, a hill of earth rose. And from that hill, the sun god Re created himself. In his loneliness, Re created two children: Shu, the God of Air; and Tefnut, the Goddess of Moisture. These two children were sent out to explore the vastness of Nun and continue the work of building the universe and bringing order and balance, or ma’at.
After a time, Re grew lonely, and so the God of Sun sent his own two eyes out to bring his children back to his side. When Shu and Tefnut returned, Re wept with joy, and his tears fertilized the earth and created humans. After the humans came to be, Shu and Tefnut came together and created their own children: Geb, the God of Earth; and Nut, the Goddess of Sky. Geb and Nut fell in love, and after a time wished to create a family of their own, but their grandfather Re commanded Shu to separate them, thus separating the earth and the sky with a barrier of air. This separation was too late, as Nut was pregnant with the children of Geb. Re then commanded that Nut was not to give birth on any day of the year. And so it was.
Distraught, Nut sought out the God of Wisdom, Djehuty, who had sprung fully formed from the lips of Re at the time of creation. Djehuty concocted a plan and gambled with Khonsu, the Moon God. Once he won five days of light from the moon, Djehuty gave them to Nut, because these days did not belong to the year which only had 360 days.
On the first day, Nut bore a son called Ausar, who would rule the land of Kemet and bring order to all the souls of humanity. On the second day was born Heru-wer, the falcon-headed god. The third day saw Set, who ruled the desert and its many storms. Finally, on the fourth and fifth days came the twin goddesses, Auset and Nebt-het.
And so the world began.
*this is my own personal understanding of this particular Egyptian creation myth, and is in no way factual or completely true to the original depiction of this myth*

Hatshepsut’s Red Temple, currently presiding in Luxor, in the Karnak Temple Complex. Although never finished and deconstructed after the end of Hatshepsut’s reign, it has been rebuilt now; at least what remains of it. It’s rather small and has no roof now, but the basalt basin shows clearly its’ purifying uses, as in the back exit, small canals were built into the steps to let water run off. The red stone of the temple shrine glitters in the sun, outlined by rich black doorways.

Mars’ Warriors
𓃭 aries 𓃭
✨💥planet energy, mythology & astrology obsvs✨💥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aries Sun, Aries Rising, Venus, Mars
mars dominant, mars in the 1st house
Mars ruled.
Mars- Ascendant aspects, Sun-Mars Aspects
Strong Mars placements, Aries Stellium
✨💥“Her enemies had fallen. Sanguine showers painted the Earth a ghastly ruby hue. Wailing cries of defeat created a victorious symphony of which she savored…. cackling up at the heavens.”𓃭✨💥
Tumblr media
Do not steal any of my original work & writing. Photos are either from Pinterest or collaged by me.
✨Majestic Martian,
Ruled by the blood-red planet of Mars, you blaze a path on this Earth with an unwavering air of confidence.
✨💥Regal is the word that comes to mind.
Never needing reassurance, you literally believe you have already won before ever touching the battlefield.
Mars has blessed you with an innate, instinctual battlelust... an energy that inspires some, frightens others, but entrances ALL.
While everyone else contemplates... you act. You win the battle and even after you've won... you're still not satisfied.
✨💥You crave the next battlefield.. another King to slay.. another display of your hard-earned glory and greatness.
Even though January starts our calendar year, March begets Spring, the season symbolizing the beginning of life. Is it no surprise this month is named after your planetary ruler and the beginning of the zodiac?
Mars the planet is named after the Roman God of war and battlelust (Ares to the Greeks, Sekhmet to Ancient Egyptians) The Greeks deemed him the spirit of battle and child of Zeus and Hera.
With this energy, you have a natural, primal and intrinsic ability to tap into pure... red... RAGE. ✨💥 𓃭
While it sounds a bit frightening, this manifests as an incredibly useful gift in so many avenues of life. A Martian or Aries will always be ambitiously setting goals, achieving them, and writing more before they can catch a breath.
✨💥You have the spirit of a winner. You do not even fathom the thought of failure.
You move through life aware of the power of every single person in your immediate space, ready for someone to challenge the crown that you bled for.
This may be due to having literal experiences being attacked, bullied, and just… bothered. Your energy is akin to Plutonian/Scorpio, whose ancient ruler is Mars.
The element Fire clarifies and you are Cardinal Fire! You're literally blazing the trail. 🔥
A natural debater and concise communicator, you often find yourself defending yourself and others. (Always going to clear the room! Esp. to defend the ones you love. I love this for you all).
You have probably been admonished for your bold nature and aggressive style of communicating by adults, teachers, and maybe even... employers.
✨💥But, you are just being real. Your energy thrives in authenticity.
You hate being given orders and have probably fought hard to get into a career with relative freedom... this could manifest as entrepreneurism or content creating.
Tumblr media
✨💥 She who mauls... 𓃭
The Mythology of Mars
While attempting to gain understanding of the energy of this sign and pIanet, I discovered the very simliar origin story in the Ancient Egyptian, Sekhmet, ("She who is powerful"). The goddess is depicted with the head of a female lion and ruled the desert sun, war, total chaos, and healing. I do want to clarify. This is not a male lion with the extravagant afro (symbol of Leo.)
Sekhmet manifests as a female lion because they are the fierce protector and huntress within the pack or pride, literally embodying primal female rage.
A female lion mauling is much like aftermath of a Martian or Aries temper explosion. It's not always a defensive energy, but a prowling one where the Martian sets its' sights on an easy mark.. or prey.
This could be a person or a task.
Egyptian mythology states she was created from the literal wrath of the sun God, Ra.
✨💥As the story goes:
Disappointed with the ungrateful treachery of men, Ra conspired with Set, God of Chaos to harness and manifest the wrath in which he felt... creating the embodiment of female rage, Sekhmet.
The stunning maiden possessing the spirit of war, is unleashed upon the people of Ancient Egypt, mauling anyone in her path until the waters of the great river ran...red.
Sekhmet was insatiable and her bloodlust lasted days.. She literally maniacally drank and gorged herself on the blood of the people. (Think: Akasha, Queen Mother of Vampires, in "Queen of the Damned")
Ra attempted to stop her, but being a daughter of the Sun... his powers had no effect. This drunken slaughter lasted until Thoth (Mercury to the Romans, Hermes to the Greeks) God of Trickery finally convinced her to drink wine under the guise of blood. The Goddess drank and fell asleep, calming the spirit.
✨💥I believe this is a valuable lesson anyone with dominant Mars energy has already learned quite a few times. You must utilize caution and strategy before rushing in.
Tumblr media
✨💥THE ROMAN CIRCUS
On one hand, this is bad betch, rockstar, DIVA energy that can cosmically entrance the senses.
On the other... it can get a bit delusional…
✨💥 When I think of Aries energy, I think of the Roman Circus... (The Circus Maximus: Chariot Races, Gladiators, Live Animals, and Drunken Splendor.)
The event lured in many..under the guise of a celebration and glory. In reality, it was a grotesque sacrificial blood offering.
✨💥 To win the Roman Circus... was to suffer and harm many others. So, was it really a win at all?
This can be applied to the life struggles for some Martians or Aries who pursue a person or thing that is projecting a false but glorious image with everything they’ve got.
✨💥 I once knew an Aries sun who would always fall into silent competition with others girls because of just ONE Libra male in our social circle.
The Libra was a shameless flirt and seemingly a ladies man. However, he was very nonchalant towards the Aries sun... unresponsive to her direct energy. (Air sign men🙄)
She attempted numerous times, throwing very unsubtle hints sprinkled with arrogance. She knew that she was beautiful and wondered why he did not respect it.
✨💥 As beautiful as she was, she could not take the rejection. Aries HATES to lose. She needed to win.
Unbeknownst to the Aries sun, the guy was actually in the closet! Hiding his sexuality, he would only show his interest to women he knew weren’t interested... It was all a show and he was only projecting for societal benefits!
I share this story because I see this re-enacted amongst Martian and Aries women too often.
✨💥 In the spirit of battle, you set your sights upon who you deem as the most masculine man/woman or the one with the most options... because you want them to choose you above all.
You need to win. He becomes your Roman Circus. 𓃭✨💥
(Think: ariana grande & other people’s man; 1H mars 👀)
This happens to Martian men too… often rushing into a woman’s life before reading the fine print… only to have a cataclysmic collision of short-lived passion. 🫣
While I do applaud healthy competition, the female Martian complex often leads towards the Aries woman being trapped in a mothering role supporting a loser she only got because he used to be “the hottest guy in her area and everyone wanted him". (Giving major: Peaked in highschool mental vibes🤮)
✨💥You have a natural need to asess and rank a room according to power... or perceieved power. Badly aspected or unevolved Mars & even Pluto can make you exert force over those you deem weak.
However, those you perceive as powerful or heavily sought after seem to capture all of your romantic attention.
You want to conquer the most manly man and be the fierce queen at his side.
However, this desire comes from a need to feel glory. So people can become trophies… i.e. trophy wife or trophy husband.
HOWEVER, The problem with a "100% manly man… Toughest Hood Niiga… Greek God" archetype is that most men with these aesthetics did nothing to really gain them because they’re born handsome or are literally aware of the power of their own aesthetic!
Because your assertive energy is so direct and rivals that of a man at times… you can attract those pretty boys who are benefiting from male-pretty privilege & female sexual projection (i.e. the hottest and buffest guys girls assume will be the most sexual etc. NATE JACOBS CORE LOL)
✨💥Always remember… a less capable man is going to overcompensate!
He’ll be a knock-off designer... a fake… a fraud... and I am sorry to say, but I feel the biggest risks are (an unevolved Aries😭, Libra, Sags, GEMINI or Leo men...)
Not all of them, but they do have the tendency to exaggerate or be performative with their manhood. Pisces does this too, but they are not fooling an aries LOL.
✨💥This can become that gross Mommy and Son energy I mentioned. Eventually... if they are lucky.. the Martian can snap out of their bloodlust daze to realize this guy was just acting... Any additional mental manipulations is what can create a toxic bond which is draining over time.
This relationship dynamic will be fun at first but it fizzles out when you realize he has the maturity of a child!
✨💥Run away from the man who puts on the show, ladies! It's what I call.. the Roman Circus.
With this energy, you can definitely be a bit overbearing when you are trying to show that you care. This is never minded too much by those who know your fiercly loving heart.
✨💥 You are a queen! Remember that what’s meant for you does not always have to be won over. It can manifest organically!
You are multi-faceted. Embrace diplomacy and take time to contemplate decisions like your sister sign, Libra.
Your Martian sibling, Scorpio also teaches the lesson of patiently waiting and observing the situation before action.(No one is plotting like a Scorpio Mars 👀)
However, a Martian never stays down for long and always bounces back improved from life’s perils!✨💥
Tumblr media
✨💥 Aries vs. Scorpio
Scorpio is a water sign, balancing out the fiery energy creating warm and inviting waves to lure you in.
Aries is a fire sign finding natural comfort in its sizzling Martian ruler and Solar energies... VA VA VOOM HOT..
✨💥The spirit of war lays waste to the lands and the God of the Underworld waits patiently to collect the souls.💥✨
𓃭
I believe Aries are our public leaders, change makers, warriors, and fierce inspiration. Their protective maternal energy is inherent and divine.
Sekhmet was equally feared and adored!
The likeness of the goddess can literally be found today in Egyptian art and architecture guarding the Pharoahs.
Much like Sekhmet and Ares, both Martian signs are an unstoppable force once in motion.
✨💥In the 1st house, Mars defines the personality and appearance. A perfect example is the feline-faced Nicki Minaj (Mars in the 1st house) on the left can be seen in what appears to be a Sekhmet inspired headress with lioness ears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the right… her Roman Circus🫣🙊😂(other 1H Mars women are Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Both have infamous love history!!)
✨💥I can literally hear Nicki’s iconic maniacal laughter… it legit sounds like what I’d imagine of blood-thirsty, Sekhmet after she’s slayed a Kingdom!
This can get a little egotistical… but she IS a queen. 🤷🏾‍♀️
I love my Martians though. You guys are so inspiring and honestly age like fine wine!! The youthful fire within you never really stops burning.
✨💥Be sure you are a productive force and not destroying all that lays in your path!
Thank you for reading! Wishing you blessings! ✨💥

the egyptian gods
MA'AT: the essence of harmony and balance
in the beginning, well, there were a lot of different beginnings,
AMUN/AMUN-RA: god of the sun and air, supreme king of the gods in some periods. some stories say that he created himself and then everything else in the universe
ATUM: sometimes considered another name for Ra, but when separated he represents the evening sun. he was the first of the Ennead to emerge from Nu, and was the supreme ruler of the gods, and creator of the universe and human beings
RA/RE: when separated from Atum, he represents the midday sun, but other stories say that his aspect changes as he advances his sun barge across the sky. also considered the supreme ruler and creator of the universe. later merged with Amun as he rose in popularity
PTAH: another creator of the universe, Ptah was lord of truth, and the patron god of sculptors and craftsmen (since he was considered to have sculpted the earth). he created the first mound of earth from Nu by imagining it in his heart and breathed life into things with his voice
KHNUM: said to have created everything on his potter's wheel. in a different story he created humans on his potter's wheel then raised them up to the sun so that Ra could breathe life into them
NEITH: a war and funerary goddess, she created all things from her innards. she invented birth, therefore considered the "mother goddess" and closely associated with life and living things
MUT: emerged from Nu and gave birth to the world on her own, or in other stories was the wife of Amun. she was a goddess of protection, guarding humans in life, and against demons in death
MEHET-WERET: celestial cow goddess that emerged from Nu and gave birth to Ra at the beginning of time. goddess of water, creation, and rebirth
then under Atum/Ra creation stories, there were the first gods, called the Ennead,
SHU: the primordial god of air, he was born from Atum/Ra with his sister Tefnut to create the world. it's said that after bein gone for so long, Atum/Ra sent the eye of Ra to search for them, and his tears of happiness at having them returned became humans
TEFNUT: the sister and wife of Shu, she was the primordial god of moisture and rainfall
NUT: child of Shu and Tefnut, she represented the sky, but her relationship with her brother Geb disturbed Atum/Ra so he pushed her high above Geb, decreeing that she could not give birth on any day of the year. however, Thoth then gambled with Iah (or Khonsu) winning five days of moonlight he transformed into days. On those five days, her five children were born
GEB: god of the earth and growing things
OSIRIS: child of Nut and Geb, he was lord and god of the underworld and afterlife. he was said to be the first god to die, after being killed by his brother Set, wherein Isis then resurrected him and they bore Horus.
ISIS: child of Nut and Geb, she was the goddess of the moon, healing, fertility, and magic
NEPHTHYS: child of Nut and Geb, she is the twin sister of Isis and wife of Set. she is considered a goddess of funeral rites, darkness (not in an evil sense), and protector of women.
SET/SETH: child of Nut and Geb god of war, chaos, and storms. although he was the first murderer, he was considered a necessary balance to the good of Osiris. he killed Osiris to usurp his throne, only to later be usurped by Horus.
However, sometimes Set was replaced with Horus in the Ennead,
HORUS: technically there were two Horuses, Horus the Elder, who was a child of Nut and Geb, and Horus the younger, who was the better known Horus. however, they ended up merging into one deity, a god of the sun, sky, and kingship
under the Amun (and sometimes Ptah) creation myth(s) there was the group called the Ogdoad, including Amun and
AMUNET: the female counterpart of Amun, together they represented forces unseen, including the wind and air
KEK: the god of the hours before dawn, he guided the sun barge of Ra from the underworld to earth
KAUKET: the female aspect of Kek, she represented the hours after sunset, and guided the sun barge of Ra into the underworld. Together these gods represent darkness (but not in an evil way)
HEH AND HAUHET: often not separated in any meaningful way, these two were the gods of infinity, eternity, and time
NUN AND NAUNET: personification of the primordial waters, from which everything was created. Naunet is only ever referenced when it comes to the Ogdoad
However, when Amun became revered as a god of creation, him and Amunet were sometimes replaced by
NIA AND NIAT: gods of the void
so then the rest of the gods,
THOTH: advisor of Atum/Ra, he was the god of wisdom, writing, and truth, and was associated with the moon. sometimes he is the child of Atum/Ra, other times he is the son of Horus. he gave humanity the gift of language and marked the passage of time
SESHAT: consort of Thoth, she was the goddess of writing, books, and measurements
ANUBIS: son of Nephthys and Osiris, he was the god of the dead and associated with embalming. he leads the souls of the dead to the Hall of Truth and weighs their heart to determine if they were good or evil
KABECHET/QEBEHT: daughter of Anubis and a funerary deity. she provides cool, pure water to the souls awaiting judgement in the Hall of Truth
BASTET: daughter of Ra, although her image has tempered over time, Bastet was often considered a defender of pharaohs and the hearth. goddess of cats, women, and fertility
SEKHMET: sister of Bastet, she was goddess of destruction, justice, and desert winds. after Ra became tired of the sins of humanity, he sent Sekhmet to destroy them. she ravaged the land until the other gods implored Ra to stop her, where he took beer dyed red (to emulate blood) and left it at Dendera. when she drank it, she fell asleep and woke as the benevolent goddess Hathor
MAAHES: solar god and protector of the innocent, sometimes the son of Bastet, sometimes Sekhmet
HATHOR: goddess of joy, celebration, love, women, drunkenness, and sometimes animals. in some stories she is the wife of Horus the elder, in some Horus the younger, and in some Ra
MA'AT: embodiment of the principle of ma'at, she was the goddess of truth, justice, and harmony
KHONSU: the son of Amun and Mut, god of the moon and healing
MONTU: a god of war and the vitality of pharaohs, he was later replaced by Khonsu as a child of Amun and Mut
TENENIT: goddess of beer and brewing, consort of Montu
HEKA: patron god of magic and medicine, but was also said to be present at the creation of the universe
HU: god of the spoken word, personification of the first word Atum/Ra ever spoke. represented the tongue
SIA: personification of perception and thoughtfulness who represented the heart
ANAT: goddess of fertility, sexuality, love, and war. sometimes she is a virgin goddess, others she is sensuous and erotic
APEP/APOPHIS: the celestial serpent that would assault the sun barge of Ra every night as it travels through the underworld
BA-PEF: god of terror
BES/BISU/AHA: god of childbirth, fertility, sexuality, humor, and war. he protected women and children, fended off evil, and fought for divine justice
TAWERET/TAURET: considered a consort of Set, goddess of childbirth and fertility. guarded children and invoked to help with pregnancy and birth
HRAF-HAF: the ferryman of the dead, he would carry good souls across the Lily Lake to the shores of paradise in the Field of Reeds
AMENET: consort of the divine ferryman, she welcomed souls of the dead to afterlife with food and drink
FETKET: cupbearer of Ra, patron of bartenders
MAFDET: goddess of justice, protected people from venomous bites, later replaced by Serket
SERKET: goddess of protection and funerals, protected people against venom
HEDET: goddess of scorpions and protector against their venom
IHY: son of Hathor and Horus the elder, he was the god of music and joy
IMHOTEP: the deified vizier of the king Djoser, god of wisdom and medicine
MESKHENIT: goddess of childbirth, created a person's ka (life force) and breathed it into them, creating their destiny
NEHEBKAU: joined a persons ka to their body at birth, and with the ba (winged aspect of the soul) at death. has always existed, and swam in the primordial waters before Atum rose
NEFERTUM: god of perfume and beauty, said to be born from the bud of a blue lotus flower at the beginning of creation. associated with rebirth and transformation due to his association with Atum
RENENUTET: goddess of nursing children and the harvest. she determined the length of a person's life and the important events that would occur, sometimes considered the mother of Osiris as consort of Atum

When i was a beginner at witchcraft and paganism back in 2019, witchtok was at its peak popularity.
And i remember seeing those tiktok skits where witches re-tell the messages they got from their deities in an overly simplified way.
Then i was wondering... How the
f🐬ck did that witchtoker's deity just tell them: ,,i want waffle fries!"
Beginner me was so confused 😵‍💫
So what i want to say is:
Don't be fooled. Sometimes witchy influencers (specifically TikTokers) try to oversimplify the messages they get from their deities, in order to fit them in the 15 second video format with a meme audio for comedy.
Don't be insecure if you don't get deep meaningful messages about your gods! ❤️ We are all different. Some of you maaaay get such messages, some may not! That's oki!

Egyptian sky god Horus, who has the head of a Lanner falcon and wears the double crown of a united Egypt. His right eye was the sun or morning star, representing power and quintessence, and his left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing. Horus was associated with kingship, and pharaohs were considered his manifestation on Earth.

When people get the ick upon hearing that Ausar (Osiris) and Auset (Isis), along with most other Egyptian deities, married and had children with their siblings, my go-to response is this:
"Hmm....do you believe that all people came from Adam and Eve, as per the Christian mythology? Yes? Ok, so how exactly do you explain that?"
*currently doing research for Wep Ronpet for a presentation for my witch group next month and I have to briefly touch on the births of the Njeteru*

Imagery from Khonsu’s Temple within the Karnak Temple Complex in Luxor, Thebes.
The Karnak complex is massive and it’s temples ornately decorated despite their age. I took these photos near the end of July—it was over 45 degrees celsius, so there were few people there. The experience, especially because of the lack of people, was richly unique and beneficial to the soul.
