Petition to give Sabo a long elegantly embellished rapier that he uses in its scabbard as a bludgeoning tool instead of actually partaking in sword fighting

OKAY IM FEELING BRAVE N NOT GOING ANON SO HI!!!
I love your writing n I was wondering if i could request a WK x Gn! Reader where the reader is like crashed into a cave or smthn, wk goes to investigate and they find the reader that (size wise) is like HUGE, like 16 feet tall!! BUT. once they see wk they shrink down to around his size, n they talk n find out they’re from like a diff planet in their universe?! N they can’t get back.
(idk where this idea came from I apologize:3)
୨♡ You're Something, Aren't you?" ♡୧

I love this idea! I think I'm gonna combine it with another ask i got.
Tumblr media
(For those wondering why the gumlee fanart tag is here, it's because I put some of my art at the end of every fic. It just happens to be gumlee this time)
Gender neutral reader
Romantic
Type: Headcanons
Request: Yup! They're back open, too!
Some descriptions of the reader, nothing detailed, just dragon stuff.
Summary: Being a space dragon is cool. Except for when you're too tired to leave a planet.. Thankfully, you have help from a new friend.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
-You're a space being.
-A celestial dragon, if you will.
-You're quite a majestic being, even having some of your own constellations named after you.
-Perks of being a beautiful immortal creature.
-While you're practically immortal, you can get tired, especially after traversing through the cosmos.
-So every so often, you gracefully land on a habitable planet, to regain your strength for a few days.
-You more or less crash landed on this one.
-It was called Ooo, if you recall correctly. You're sometimes allowed to name a few planets or stars, but this one has existed for longer than you have.
-It's a little embarrassing to be taking refuge in such an old planet.
-However, you had the funniest encounter while on Ooo.
-It was little more than twenty minutes after you crash landed in an icy forest.
-You had knocked down quite a few trees and stirred up quite the commotion in a town nearby, as they could see you flying in from the atmosphere.
-You were trying to take a few splinters out in your dragon form when you met...
-Him.
-It sounded so cheesy, but you had never seen a more beautiful thing in the universe.
-Safe to say you were floored.
-Literally.
-He and a few... What looked to be scouts and knights made of ice neared you cautiously.
-He seemed to recognize you, which was a little strange. You guessed there were history books of some sort written about you.
-He introduced himself as the Winter King, and welcomed you to Ooo.
-Yes, he had definitely heard of you.
-You decided to shift into your smaller form. It was still ethereal and god-like, but it was easier on the eyes than being a twenty-foot tall dragon.
-You kept your wings and horns, just parts of yourself that you thought to be enchanting.
-the Winter King spoke to you, a little shocked at your sudden shift. You were wearing clothes, what other mortal customs had you missed?
"Well, *ahem* it is my honor to meet a celestial being such as yourself! If I may ask, why choose this planet?"
-You explained that it was the nearest habitable planet, and that it didn't matter too much.
-You didn't think too highly of yourself, as you were quite low on the god-scale. Only a minor universal god, instead of being a multiversal god.
-If that made any sense.
-You politely asked Winter King if you could regain your strength in his kingdom.
"Oh, why of course! A- anything for someone such as yourself!" -His pale blue skin flushed in a pinkish tone, and his voice faltered ever so slightly.
-You tended to have that effect on people.
-However, he seemed to be handling your presence quite well, so part of you wondered if he were somewhat immortal, or was just a magic user in general.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
-You stayed for a little less than two weeks, learning quite a bit as you took refuge.
-You were quite uneducated when it came to planets like Ooo, embarrassingly so, at times.
-But it felt nice to have Winter King explain things to you.
-He seemed so respectful, yet so interested in everything you did or said.
-It turned out he was an astronomy nerd, and stories of you were his favorite.
-He wrote down practically everything you said, but as time went on, it seemed less like worship and more like interactions between friends.
-You preferred it that way, to be honest.
-You learned not only much about Ooo, but also much about the Winter Kingdom as well.
-Whenever it snowed softly, you would always spend time outside, sometimes dragging Winter along with you.
-You did everything from nap, to play in the snow.
-It seemed childish, but the two of you had quite a bit of fun.
-Not to mention the food there was absolutely phenomenal.
-You swore that you would return the generous favor of the Winter King.
-When it eventually came time for you to leave the planet, the both of you were quite sad.
-However, you knew if you stayed longer, you'd never leave. And that wasn't good.
-You were out on the terrace, having said your goodbyes to Winter and the citizens, ready to shift to your ethereal form to take flight.
-However, you felt something nagging at you to stay for a few more moments.
-You were correct to wait.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Winter called your name, looking to have run all the way up here. He placed his hands on his knees and took a few deep breaths.
"Winter..? I thought you already said goodbye?" Winter cleared his throat and stood up, placing his hands behind his back. He'd regained his composure so quickly it was shocking. He cleared his throat once again.
"It just occurred to me that I never asked for that return favor.." You brought your hand up to your lips, ashamed you forgot your promise.
"I- Oh my word, I apologize. I forgot."
Winter assured you that it was no big deal, and that his favor was only a small one. He stepped towards you, almost shyly.
"Well, rest assured, I can do almost anything. There is a grey area in which I'm unable to give, but otherwise, I will do anything in my power to grant you what you seek."
Winter blushed, his gaze transfixed on the ground. He seemed to be at a loss for words. Your large wings twitched, and after a few moments, Winter seemed to have figured out what he wanted.
"If it's not too much to ask, I'd like to request..."
He looked up at you with the sweetest of smiles.
"A kiss."
You were taken aback for just a moment, but regained your composure as quickly as you lost it. You took a step towards Winter, returning his warm smile.
"Well, if that's all you seek, I would be more than happy to give you what you so desire."
Winter shifted in place with an almost giddy expression, and looking up at you, you could tell he had wanted this for quite some time.
You'd be a liar if you said you hadn't thought about it prior to today.
"I would much appreciate that."
He said simply. So making sure not to waste any more of your time, you bent down to Winter's height. Despite being in your smaller form, you were still quite a bit taller than anyone else.
You caught his lips in yours, holding the embrace for a few moments. His lips felt cold, and it was all you could have hoped for.
When you separated, you gently held his face in your clawed hands.
"I have truly cherished this time with you, and I wish I could have stayed longer. However, my higher duties must not be ignored."
Winter nodded in understanding, placing his small hand atop yours.
"I promise I will think of you often, and will call on you if I'm ever passing through this side of your galaxy. That I will swear." "But until then, my dear."
The only thing Winter could remember of that moment, was the feeling of your lips in his forehead, and the silhouette of your ethereal form, fading out of the atmosphere.

Chapter 1083: By Any Means Necessary
Color me shocked, but we’re actually following up from last chapter to learn the truth about Reverie!
But first, that cover.
Tumblr media
On the surface, it makes me laugh a bit. But, upon further reflection--and I’m going to look way too deep for a cover request--this makes me think of the way Doffy took in children. He’d find these heavily damaged children like Law and Baby 5, he’d wrap them in his coat (give them a place in the Family, make them feel wanted and needed, make promises about the future) while offering only the barest care for their actual trauma, like the bandage here. (In fact, he was actually making the trauma worse.)
See? Way too deep for a cover request 😅
Anyway, on to the chapter:
So, the Revolutionaries had three main aims for infiltrating Mariejois:
Tumblr media
I can only imagine that cutting off the Celestial Dragons’ food reserves is going to lead to some dark things. (I mean, even cannibalism hasn’t been off the table so far in One Piece, so...) While the Revolutionaries aimed to help as many slaves escape as they could, you know they didn’t get them all. And the ones left behind are really going to suffer from this.
Tumblr media
Excuse me, why does this silhouette of God’s Knights look like Shanks?
It’s probably a misdirect (we all know how the silhouettes of Kaido and Big Mom looked before we met the actual characters, after all) but considering the background for Shanks that we got from the Film Red material and the fact that the Five Elders were willing to meet with him... it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. (Or maybe one of Shanks’s family members?)
Side note: on a shallow note, I really like this panel of Sabo:
Tumblr media
Anywho, Dragon acknowledges that Cobra was actually a kind and benevolent ruler, but that doesn’t matter for the cause of the Revolutionaries. For the greater good is the type of attitude that leads to those who rebel against the corrupt to become the very thing they were fighting against once they are victorious.
Tumblr media
“Unfortunately, misinformation spreads faster than nuances like that” is such a true line.
And Sabo...
Tumblr media
The boy is fine being seen as Cobra’s murderer because it’s potentially helpful to the cause. It’s nothing more than a cold calculation for him. It’s also such a contrast to Luffy, who focuses on the individual people he cares about and the things that matter to them rather than the bigger picture; for instance, liberating Dressrosa wasn’t about the importance of freeing the people who’d been living under Doflamingo; it was because Doflamingo hurt Law and Rebecca, people he cared about. Freeing Wano was for Momo and Tama and the others he’d come to care for (and because he wanted a good fight against Kaido, ha.)
It’s interesting; we think of Luffy as being so selfish that he’s practically selfless. He fights for selfish reasons but ends up doing selfless things like freeing countries as a result of his actions.
On the other hand, Sabo is, arguably, so selfless that he’s selfish. He doesn’t care about the consequences for him in all of this because it redounds to the Revolutionaries’ benefit, but at the same time, he’s willing to let others--like murder victim Cobra, for instance--suffer for the purposes of the mission. It’s selfish.
I can’t help but think of Makino’s reaction to seeing the newspaper:
Tumblr media
And now we know what she was looking at:
Tumblr media
To be fair, this is a pretty damning picture (though Sabo easily could have just come across Cobra’s body when this picture was taken). And Sabo being willing to be seen in this light shows just ties into his selfless selfishness.
Moving on, we start a flashback to a month earlier in Mariejois. The Revolutionaries are attacking and causing enough chaos to bring down two admirals.
On a random note, Karasu’s Devil Fruit is just perfect for his aesthetic, and I love that for him.
Tumblr media
It’s also very funny to me that Ryokugyu, who we saw as being incredibly bullheaded when he attacked Wano, is holding back to avoid causing damage in Mariejois...
Tumblr media
while Fujitora is pulling his best Ivan Drogo:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
😂😂😂
I completely forgot Bonney snuck into Reverie. Whatever happened there is clearly tied into how she ends up in the water for the Straw Hats to find her.
Tumblr media
And my girl, Vivi. Fiery Vivi is the best Vivi. I love her a lot.
Tumblr media
I’m interested in, between this flashback and Egghead, where Lucci’s character is going. It feels like he’s becoming disillusioned with the orders he’s been following; he’s a definite wild card.
It’s interesting that Cobra is going in to meet with the Elders without anyone with him--almost like he knows what’s likely to come of this meeting and doesn’t want to drag anyone into it.
Tumblr media
I’m looking forward to seeing how we get from this to Vivi and Wapol, of all people, hiding out with Morgans.
With all these revelations, we really are in the final saga, aren’t we?

Why are people all assuming the revolutionary army didn't try to rescue Ginny at all? Or at least look into things, like track her down and see if they could get to her? There was a time skip, we don't know what all happened during it. Also what's with only blaming Dragon and no one else? I swear people just wanna hate him cause they can't imagine a parent giving their kid up to be raised elsewhere as the right thing to do in plenty of situations.
Honestly, yeah. I really don't think they sat around and did nothing. The army was a lot smaller back then, Dragon said it himself more than once they didn't have that many resources or funding yet, but I'm certain they bled themselves dry trying to figure out a way to reach her. If nothing else, because she's their closest friend. She's Iva's sis, the love of Kuma's life, one of Dragon's most trusted confidants enough to be not only an officer, but one the the Commanders.
Marie Jois is not like Impel Down, Enies Lobby, or Marineford. It seems like people are expecting Dragon to fight the five elders, the Holy Knights, the entirety of the elite military that protects the Celestial Dragons, and probably Im-sama, all on his own, to save Ginny, when they have absolutely no solid information or evidence as to where she is within Marie Jois. What, he's supposed to bulldoze his way up the red line and through Marie Jois until he finds her at random? As if they wouldn't just kill her the minute they see him coming? We need to remember the Celestial Dragons are a different kind of enemy with different kinds of defenses.
The only reason Sabo and the others were able to infiltrate and get as far as they did was because they spent YEARS researching, planning, and entered by extreme stealth. I don't think they had enough information at that time to even consider trying to infiltrate. It just wasn't feasible. Sorry Dragon isn't an indestructible god, I guess, but I think Oda knows what he's doing with this character. I trust him, idk, maybe I'm just silly like that.

One Piece Chapter 1083 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
And we're back
After Golden week we are done with yet another break, and it seems even TCB were eager for it with an extra early Wednesday upload
So let's see what One Piece delivers for us this week
Spoilers for the Chapter, please also support the Official Release
Doffy's turn to show sentiment towards a small animal for a cover page apparently
Wait...WE'RE NOT BEING BLUEBALLED!? WE'RE FINALLY LEARNING WHAT HAPPENED IN THE REVERIE!???
Seems the Revolutionaries' plan was to destroy the symbol, food reserves and free slaves as their 'declaration of war', which they accomplished while getting Kuma back
12 nations went into uprising after the Reverie, but only 8 were successful, including Lulusia which means only 7 publicly declared that they won't pay tribute anymore
Makes you wonder about the four though, since those 12 were all connected to the Revolutionary army in some way
Seems the army's plans now is to cut supplies to Marejois, try to cause a shortage and lead them into poverty
It's an okay plan on paper, but the problem with sorts like the Celestial Dragons is that they'll punish the bottom of the ladder; having less food means they'll simply feed the bottom less
Seems Oda's not done adding new enemy factions though; God's knights are expected to be brought out as a result of the army's actions
With Sabo the face of this revolution too that makes him an easy target for the knights
Sabo doesn't like his 'Flame Emperor' name though, probably would like it more if he knew it was the name of one of Ace's attacks
Oda literally telling the audience through Dragon 'yes most world leaders are awful, but not all of them', reminding that Cobra's death is unfortunate and there was respect there
It is cold to say Sabo, I get you're content with the end result but being framed for Cobra's death is not something to be content over, a good man died
The newspaper article as well shows Sabo standing over Cobra's body, very conspicuous angle as well
Flashback time! Chaos in Marejois as the army commanders attack
Of course, the Celestial Dragons are useless alone, pinning blame on people not present and imploring they help them
One tries to shoot his slave for carrying him too slowly, but he is disarmed by Karasu
Like dude, you can't 'fire' a slave, you don't pay him a wage
Karasu is riddled with bullets, but Logia rules apply
Seems the crows are just aesthetic, Karasu instead has the Soot Soot Fruit
As Lindbergh uses a laser to break the slaves' chains, Karasu dives into combat with Fujitora
Morley is also fighting with Ryokugyu, which is causing a lot more environmental chaos, meaning Akainu fanboy is getting shit from the Celestial Dragons too
No Fujitora DO order a Meteor Strike...after all the good guys are out of course
I guess Ryokugyu's not Akainu-esque enough to go scorched earth on the Celestial Dragons
The rest of the CP9 squad are here, I guess maybe they're part of CP0 now too? Fukurou is styling with those shades though
Sabo's looking for the key to the collars, meaning that none of the commanders have Ryou
Charloss is still planning on going for Shirahoshi though, with Roswald and Kuma in tow
I wonder if Shirahoshi is talking to someone in particular in her panel
Brief Bonney appearance but no interaction with Sabo yet
Over with Vivi and she's not happy with Lucci being her escort
Proper roasting this guy, Lucci's in a battle of his life resisting the urge to murder
Well this is concerning, a sickly Cobra told only he can have an audience with the Gorosei, who have been told by Imu likely to target Vivi
Cobra though is fearless (or accepting of his fate), telling Pell and Chaka to go find Vivi instead
So I'm surprised we stuck with the whole Reverie storyline, I was certain we'd wait until things cooled down a bit more so Bonney and Sabo could explain the story to Luffy and Dragon at the same time.
That being said, there's not a lot of what we didn't already know in this chapter, we already knew the admirals fought the captains after all and that they destroyed the seal, it feels like Oda is saving the main meat for next chapter.
Maybe the nice round 1085 is when we'll get back to Luffy and the supposed Egghead incident, or when we'll wrap up the other side stories since we still have present Kuma in Marejois to note about.
I'm surprised that Karasu's fruit is soot, and that all of CP9 went back and are likely CP0. But I do feel like the army's plan against Marejois is rather, tame? I guess they do have to plan carefully. We'll need to see God's Knights in action before we can gauge their threat level to the overall story, but it does provide more firepower to the World Government side even without the Navy (since I still think they could schism).
But answers are coming...slowly...

The Gorosei’s Final Opponents Solved
YouTube comments
As a sandworm, an animal who kinda moves unnoticed under the ground, makes sense if Ju Peter is the traitor/undercover. It’s also the only one whose form doesn’t really fit the demon theme.
The tension I felt was between Warcury and Akainu. Akainu will most likely fight him. I do not think Dragon will fight one of the Gorosei. Either he will help against Imu or he will take care of the God's Knights with the Revolutionary Army.
I remember seeing a theory relating to Ju Peter. In Japanese (シェパード・十・ピーター聖) his name features what looks like a cross. Historically Saint Peter was crucified in Rome by Emperor Nero (known for his cruelty and sadism) on an upside down cross, as blame for starting a fire in Rome. It could tie into the belief that Ju Peter will betray (Nero)na Imu in some way in the story.
If there is going to be a traitor Gorosei, it's definitely Ju Peter. Based on the positioning of the Doflamingo / Imu panels, Ju Peter occupies the same position as Corazon would, if he were to have been in the picture (based on the positions of the swords in both panels). Additionally, Ju Peter is the only Gorosei that have questioned the World Government at any point. During Wano he questioned why the WG felt the need to hide the real name of the Gum-Gum Fruit. He was also the one who questioned Imu as to why they selected Lulusia. Finally the most important part that I believe to be the key to the puzzle lies in real life Christian theology. Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is named after Saint Peter. Assuming that Ivankov was right when speculating about Imu's identity, they would be Saint Nerona Imu. This namessake most likely is a reference to the real life Emperor Nero. And it just so happened that it's said that Emperor Nero killed Saint Peter by method of cruxification. The precedent for cruxification as a method of punishing Celestial Dragons has already been set with Figarland Garling killing Mjosgard in this way.Show less
Plus ju Peter is named after the planet Jupiter named after the Roman god Jupiter the Roman equivalent to Zeus who is poseidon and hades/plutos brother both Poseidon and pluton are connected to imus enemies
Warcury is self proclaimed god who transforms into a fire boar known in mythology for destorying towns. Kozuki Oden defeated a large boar that was considered a god who was destroying a town. There is a straw hat who wants to follow directly in Oden's footsteps too, though one who hasn't joined just yet; Yamato. I get that Dragon should have a win, but I think they've established the God's Knights as the threat the Revolutionary Army are working around so they'll probably be the army on army fight with Dragon taking out Garling.
I think it's possible Jupiter might be a traitor because of the fact that his Zoan doesn't match the theme of the rest, as well as the fact that he very literally embodies a Zoan that is an insect, which the gorosei sort of constantly use as an insult.
Akainu is just written so closely to the idea of breaking off that I'd be surprised if he doesn't fight a gorosei, or maybe he fights Imu and loses
If we consider Skypiea as One Piece in miniature, it lends even more credence to the idea that Dragon will defeat one of the Gorosei. His closest parallel in Skypiea is Wiper. Wiper defeated one of Enel's priests (actually he one shot him with the Reject Dial) and was almost able to kill Enel. As such, I expect Dragon to easily stomp one of the Gorosei and actually almost manage to defeat Imu, but ultimately fall just short. I even expect we'll get a "For My Ancestors" like line out of Dragon right as he's defeated by Imu.Show less
I think kid might likely have a match against figarland as a sort revenge match against shank's realtive
Considering Jupiter (the planet) is known for always getting in the way of asteroids, protecting the earth in the way, Ju Peter could really be a traitor to the Gorosei in order to protect the One Piece world

(For context for the second one, in my AU, the sentient bugs of Bug Fables and Hollow Knight are sentient and human-sized because of radiation and magic or whatever. A nuclear war wiped out most life on earth, but mutated bugs and a few other species)

Image 1:
Vessel oc named Archangel
(The dictionary definition of an Archangel:
an angel of high rank. In traditional Christian angelology, a being of the eighth order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy.)
I’m making them real actually
The Archangel. The true pure vessel. Discarded, abandoned, escaped, ascended.
It kills everything in sight.
No real mind to think properly — it acts solely on impulse.
No emotional capacity to contain a will — it cares for nothing.
No voice to alert its victims to its presence — it has no vocal cords, and does not make a sound.
Severe memory issues. Short-term memory loss, vague long-term memory.
No thoughts. No hope. No sound.
Flighted, fanged, clawed, violent and uncaring.
Apex predator.
(Also, it’s more Wyrm than Rootkin. So it adopted a lot of PK’s base instincts and features. Sharp ass teeth and tail-tip. Speaking of its teeth, it has multiple rows of those, and they’re hooked inwards to latch onto prey. Terrifying.)
(Also, its full title is The False Archangel. Because it sounds cool.)
Image 2:
Hrmgh—
What if, because of the radiation combined with some Dragons’ naturally high magical capabilities, a bunch of them fused together and made one huge, immortal, mentally unstable, radiation-poisoned, three-headed Dragon thing.
Yes. Yes, I’m making that real right now.
Around 40,000 years ago, a bunch of Dragons somehow fused into a gigantic three-headed mutant, which resembles dinosaur-era Dragons, and also Hydras, what with the multiple heads and everything.
They’re known as The Hydra in modern day, at least by the bugs that have met them personally. In legends, they’re referred to as The Wyrm God (as they’re believed to be the ancestors of all Wyrms, which is not true), and they tend to call themselves The Something Lost.
They are so body horror. That’s it, no other description, they’re too complex — just Body Horror™.
They cry a lot, and also took in The False Archangel the SECOND they found it. Literally just. “You’re our child now. Come here”
(They’re also the most literal definition of “We use they/them pronouns because we are literally two like 500 motherfuckers.”)
Also, their heads each have different personalities. The left (named Rili, she/her) is mad all the time, the right (named Aga, they/he) is anxiety ridden, and the middle (named Tirve, they/them) is sick of their shit.
Rili and Aga: (arguing about nothing in particular)
Tirve: shush
Rili & Aga: (still arguing)
Tirve: s h u t u p.
Rili & Aga: (comin out ya mouth wit’ your blah blah blah zip your lips like a padl—)
Tirve: OH MY EMPTY HEAVENS SHUT THE FUCK UPPPPP
Archangel: (crunching on some bones, casually watching them argue)

Saw a "Strawhats as Percy Jackson houses" post and it pissed me off so badly I'm making my own.
Luffy: legacy born to Dragon, the World's Worst criminal, son of Garp, the Hero of the Marines, who we will discuss later. That said, given how Luffy is, who Dragon is, and the Will of D in general, I think Eris, goddess of Strife is a good one.
Zoro: a dignified warrior with strong "fuck around and find out" energy. If he's not drinking, he's napping, and if he's not doing either of those, he's training. Textbook son of Ares (the post was actually right about this)
Sanji: his whole story falls apart without Judge and Sora, and yet, who's to say Sora has to be his bio mom? Son of Athena, who, fascinated with Judge's attempts to perfect life, saw fit to help. Sora gives birth to mundane (for a given value of mundane, they're still genetically enhanced) triplets. Athena is simultaneously proud and disappointed in him, because he's so smart, but then he's so stupid
Usopp: the original post said Hephaestus, and while I don't think that's inaccurate, we can do better. Usopp is the skill monkey of the crew. Before somebody comes along to specifically do something, he's the one doing it. He's the de facto shipwright and musician before those spots are filled, and even after, he's the de facto trickster. In Arlong Park, when Luffy describes Usopp's role, it's not that he can shoot from long distances, it's that he can lie. So I'm saying Hermes kid.
Nami: this one's hard to say. One of the simplest backstories, and yet, such a multifaceted character. Navigator. Cartographer. Thief. I almost wanna put her in Hermes with Usopp, but that feels like cheating. Still, I don't have a better idea at the moment, so I'll just stick with that.
Chopper: that is a reindeer.
Robin: not a demigod. She has enough problems being the sole survivor of a buster call, the only one who can read the Poneglyphs, and having the largest starting bounty in history. I entertained the idea of making her an Athena kid, but it felt wrong somehow.
Franky: the original post and I see eye to eye on this one. Franky is an orphan from nowhere who builds war machines as a teenager. He's so clearly a Hephaestus kid.
Brook: Son of Hades, a forbidden child. Old enough and spent enough years isolated that he doesn't get why this is such a big deal.
Jinbe: As much as I'd love to make the First Son of the Sea a son of Poseidon, I feel as if his story works best if he earned his strength and reputation.
Right, crew out of the way, let's get to some extras. Yonko first.
Whitebeard: Zeus. Zeus isn't just the God of thunder and the sky, he's also the king of the gods. That makes him a god of hospitality, as well. And what's more hospitable than adopting literally hundreds of children because growing up an orphan sucked so bad? Not to mention that, within Riordan's continuity at least, Zeus is the worst deadbeat of the lot, so making his son the pinnacle of fatherhood in Shonen anime just feels right.
Big Mom: Also Eris. Big Mom and Luffy are, fundamentally, the same. Two gluttons who want freedom and equality for all, with horrible abandonment issues. The difference being, Luffy had Shanks to set a good example for him, while Big Mom had a life of crime. If their roles were reversed, they would have each other's lives, and we'd be watching Big Mom Piece (ngl that'd go so hard)
Kaido: Kaido is something called an Oni, but what does that mean? It looks like he has horns and he's stupid big. I kinda want Kaido not to be a demigod, because he's a monster. The King of the Beasts, the World's Strongest Creature, a dragon waiting in a castle for someone to kill him.
Shanks: Manga spoilers in this one. You've been warned.
We recently learned that Shanks is Figarland Shanks, son of Figarland Garling, leader of God's Knights. He's a celestial dragon. I'm not sure if you've seen One Piece, but celestial dragons aren't good people. They steal, rape, and kill with impunity, and Garling is especially cold blooded among them. However, the celestial dragons are also an example of Oda doing Nature vs Nurture again, and Shanks is his example of that. Shanks is found in a box by the Roger Pirates at God Valley, and the King of the Pirates chooses to raise Shanks as his own. Anyways, Shanks is mortal, although all the CD's are probably legacies.
Blackbeard: I'm not saying anything on this one until we get more backstory. For a placeholder answer, I'll say Apate, goddess of deceit.
Buggy: Aphrodite, because have you seen that man's sex appeal? Plus, people believe him way too easily, he gotta be charmspeaking.
That's it for Yonko, let's get the original three Admirals, and then some important miscellaneous characters and we'll call it a day.
Akainu: who needs to be a demigod when you're HIM? Wallahi we're not ready.
Being serious, though, I'm a "Rocks Pirates killed Akainu's family" truther. His narrative role is best fit by him being just some guy.
Aokiji/Kuzan: Speaking of fan theories, he's 100% Brook's son.
Kizaru: Given how he usually drones when he talks, and he never seems to take things seriously, I'm saying Dionysus. I will double down on this if/when he betrays Saturn.
Garp: remember a thousand years ago, when I talked about Zoro and his "fuck around and find out" energy? Yeah, Garp regularly talks shit about world nobles *to their faces.* Ares for sure.
Roger: I'm feeling either just some guy, or Athena. Something about the search for the One Piece, a quest for lost knowledge and absolute freedom, feels very Athena to me.
Ace: See Roger. That's the only part of his story I'm touching, because his backstory is lowkey perfect.
Sabo: just some guy. He was always just some guy that Luffy and Ace liked, and it's one of his greatest qualities in a story littered with lineages of heroes and special races.

TMNT - The 10 Dimensions
A few times in tmnt 2012 (and tmnt as a whole I think but I’ve really only paid attention to 2012), the 10 dimensions have been brought up. From what I know, this includes the different turtle shows/movies/universes and dimension X. But y’know what here’s my take on it.
The 1st Dimension - Oblivisci Ruler/s: N/A A Few Native Species: N/A Description: Oblivisci translates to ‘to forget’ in Latin. It is named so since it’s become known as ‘the lost/forgotten world.’ Formerly, it was a land thriving with greenery, animals, and life. This is the first and so far only full dimension to be taken over by the Kraang. Since then, it’s been completely deserted. All it is now is a barren wasteland.
The 2nd Dimension - The Crystal Colony Ruler/s: Prince Kito A Few Native Species: The Quartz People, Ruby Roses, Sapphire Salamanders, Emerald Elephants Description: A land made of crystal and gems of all shapes, colours, and sizes. The animals, plants, and people are all crystals too. This world was ravaged by the Kraang years ago and is still recovering from the damage done. The king and queen are dead and have left their teenage son in charge. Much of the land is destroyed, but under the rule of the struggling prince, it’s starting to recover.
The 3rd Dimension - PrimeVerse Ruler/s: Depends on the planet A Few Native Species: Humans, Mutants, Salamandrians, Aeons, again it depends on the planet Description: The largest of the 10 dimensions. PrimeVerse’s main location is the Prime (original/comic) Turtle’s world. Every other tmnt variation and maybe even the fanfics are all alternate world that branch off PrimeVerse. In TMNT 2012, all the non-canon season 5 things are branches too. There’s not much else to say, this is just the primary place that the shows takes place.
Branches are alternate world that are connected to one of the 10 dimensions. There is an infinite amount of them.
The 4th Dimension - Dōbutsu Ruler/s: N/A A Few Native Species: Anthropomorphic Animals, which include rabbits, cats, bears, and more Description: Usagi’s world. This is the world that appears in like every tmnt version, so again, not much to say.
The 5th Dimension - The Overworld Ruler/s: Lord Oriri Solar Knight and Lady Cadere Lunar Knight A Few Native Species: Celestials, cherubs, the Souls of the Good Description: This is basically just Heaven. The celestials are a breed of supernatural creatures from the skies who preside over the Souls of the Good. The rulers of the Overworld are a set of twins who embody the sun and moon. Oriri and Cadere also choose who goes to the Overworld and who goes to the Netherworld.
The 6th Dimension - The Netherworld Ruler/s: Kavaxas A Few Native Species: Demodragons, imps, the Souls of the Bad Description: It’s honestly just Hell. Demodragons are a species originally from the 7th dimension who have been cursed to damnation for their whole existence. They, specifically their leader Kavaxas, preside over the deceased souls of the wicked.
The 7th Dimension - Terra Mirandi Ruler/s: The Five Houses A Few Native Species: There’s a lot, but I guess gorgons, witches, unicorns, cyclopses, Description: Terra Mirandi translates to ‘Land of Wonder’. It’s known as the magic dimension. Mythical creatures of all sorts are from here, from mermaids to dragons to centaurs, fairies, yokai, and so much more, even some breeds of imps and cherubs. Terra Mirandi is run by five houses, or families, each of which govern over a portion or 'kingdom' named after them. The five houses are as follows:
The House of Amros - Cupids. The name is a combination of amor, meaning love in a few different languages, and eros, the god of love. The House of Azyrath - Hellhounds, a breed of anthropomorphic wolves with wings and fire powers. I tried incorporating the word 'wrath' into the name as fire is associated with anger. The House of Venora - An anthropomorphic deer species known as Florebou. They are also responsible for the changing of seasons. Venora is a combination of venison (deer meat) and flora. The House of Thalassa - Siraelia, a crossbreed between sirens and cecaelia. The name means sea in Greek since sirens are Greek. They rule the seas of Terraria Mirandi. The House of Polilla - Humanoid white witch moths who are actually witches. Polilla translates to moth in Spanish since this particularly moth species are found in Latin America.
The 8th Dimension - The Digital Gates Ruler/s: Madame Tempestra A Few Native Species: Cyberfolk, digital bugs Description: The Digital Gates is a world almost completely cut off from outer interference. It’s really sophisticated but also cyberpunk style. The only thing that’s ever left the Digital Gates are bugs (like bugs on computers y’know). Tempestra rules the place and forbids anything else leaving for fear of exposig themselves to the Kraang and giving them a way in.
The 9th Dimension - Metamorphis Ruler/s: Changes A Few Native Species: Changes Description: Metamorphis is the world of change. Sometimes it’s daily, hourly, monthly, doesn’t matter. Nothing stays the same for long here. From the citizens, to the flora and fauna, the geography, everything changes at some point.
The 10th Dimension - Dimension X Ruler/s: Kraang Prime, Utrom Council A Few Native Species: Utrom/Kraang, Kraathatrogons, Rock Soldiers, Scatterpillars, Squibbles Description: Ah yes, Dimension X at last. This is the world of the Kraang. Like with dimensions 3 and 4, there isn't much to say about here that we don't already know from the show. All I'll add is that they've been trying to take over the 10 dimensions from the 1st to 9th, but so far have only gotten to the first 3.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO ARTHURIAN PAGANISM
Tumblr media
Do you like digging through rarely translated Welsh manuscripts and crusty PDF’s searching for a little known truth that cannot be found? Do you enjoy wild goose chases but religious this time? Do you want a spiritual practice focused on digging in and coming to your own conclusions? Do the legends of King Arthur and his knights inspire a spiritual admiration? Then, you’ve stumbled upon the right tumblr post.
This is meant to be a base level introduction to Arthurian Paganism, an open path anyone from anywhere can follow. I am not an expert, and and do not wish to be treated as such. However, I do think I have enough information to springboard someone else’s journey.
Let’s gets started!
WHAT IT IS
Many religions have a concept of hero worship or hero cults. Worshipped in the terms of divinity or pseudo divinity, sometimes compared to the concepts of local gods and Catholic saints, but not exactly. It could be said this concept dates back to heroes like Gilgamesh and Enkidu, all the way back in 2900 bce! Such, Arthurian Paganism is the tradition of revering Arthur and other Arthurian figures just as one would revere other ancient heroes.
The historicity of Arthur has been subject to lengthy debate. Evidence can point to him being a Briton chief who fought back an Anglo-Saxon invasion shortly after the fall of Rome, or point to him not existing at all. That mystery is a piece of what makes Arthur unique to practitioners who revere him. We will never know the real truth of who he was until his messianic return. (If that even occurs as well!)
It is also worth noting the Christianization of Arthur’s story. The Anglo-Saxons won the war, and with them brought ancient Christianity. Fairies became demons and queens became virgins, and those virgins bore pentacles on their shields. This strange melding of Pagan and Christian symbolism merged into a story that could survive. Christian authors contributed to and thus preserved Arthur’s story through centuries of distance. This merging of legends and religions is an important part of this path. Practitioners wishing to stray further from Christian symbolism must do a bit more digging to access the Pagan meanings underneath.
Because of the lack of a solid ground line, historical or spiritual, this is a branch of worship filled with personal findings and UPG more so than any other form of Paganism. Arthur expects you to quest for what the truth is, who he is,who you are and what you believe. It’s up to you in the end regarding the heroes, villains, and relationships wound up in this tale. We quest just like the knights who scoured for the Grail and the Questing Beast, and we come up short like them as well.
“So many scholars have spent so much time trying to establish whether Arthur existed at all that they have lost track of the single truth that he exists over and over.”
-John Steinbeck
Tumblr media
WHAT TO DO
Interacting with heroic figures is done similarly to how we interact with spirits and deities. Create them an altar, leave them offerings, wear devotional jewelry and listen to songs with spiritual significance! Invite them to reveal the unseen to you, and to work with you in spells and rituals. These figures, Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, Morgana, Mordred and more, they can interact with you as any other spiritual being would. Invite them in, and develop a personal and unique relationship as you progress on your never ending quest.
As is good advice with any unseen being, start with a tarot reading or a prayer. Sit with them, introduce yourself, state your curiosity and intentions. Doing a tarot reading is how I got started!
There are also several ways to include these figures in your craft. Biblomancy using Arthurian literature, calling upon them in spells, and keeping a chivalrous code of honor in your magick. Also use Arthurian symbols such as red dragons, grails and goblets, circles or spirals of stones, triskelions, celestial bodies, fairies/faeries, and the general aesthetics of the knights of yore.
If you believe you are being contacted by an Arthurian figure, I encourage you to listen. Merlin sent me hawks, Arthur appeared in the clouds. These signs can be invitations! Don’t be afraid to accept, for the thing awaiting you just might be the holy grail.
Tumblr media
INCOMPLETE BEGINNER BLIOGRAPHY
Arthurian Magick: the complete book of meditations, rituals, and visualizations- John and Caitlín Matthews are wonderful sources, but I will only put my favorite books of theirs here for brevity’s sake. This is the big book of Arthurian spells and the perfect place for anyone interested in him to begin.
Arthurian Tarot- also by the Matthews’. This deck is one of the most visionary, insightful, and detailed I’ve ever worked with. Jam packed with Arthurian symbolism and the history to back it up. There is a digital version available as an app that is my favorite digital divination method ever, and is excellent for witches who cannot have physical decks for any reason.
Temples of the Grail: the search for the world’s greatest relic- again, by John Matthews and Gareth Knight. A very detailed history of the Grail and what it could be, a subject of fierce debate and incredible importance!
Histories of the Kings of Britain - a pseudo historical list of kings written in roughly 1136 by Geoffrey of Monmouth. More often considered an epic rather than a historical document, and is considered to be the text that introduces Merlin into Arthurian mythos.
Gwaine and the Green Knight - written by the mysterious Gwaine and/or Pearl poet in the 14th century. Perfect example of the merging religions I touched on earlier.
the Four Ancient Books of Wales - four important 13-15th century texts that contain some of the earliest mentions of Arthur in Welsh.
King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and Le Morte D’Arthur - both by Sir Thomas Malory in the 1400’s. Both contain important stories and even important prophecies!
SOME EXTRA RESOURCES
Masterpost of Arthurian offerings- a work in progress for ideas and inspiration for items to fill your altar spaces
My devotional playlist- devotional playlists are excellent for meditation, shufflemancy, and spiritual mindfulness. This is the one I use
FINAL NOTES
First, thank you for reading this far! I hope I managed to impart even the slightest semblance of useful information.
Secondly, I wish you luck on this never ending quest. If you have any other resources, tips, or guidance to share please discuss it in the notes! If you have questions, my ask box is open.
All of magick, and perhaps even life, is an eternal search for more knowledge. Arthur himself was placed onto the trail of an unobtainable, impossible quest too. It matters not that his attempts can be described as futile, for the futile is sacred. For each and every aspect of his life and longer reigning mythos was foretold in prophecy. For even today there remains those who seek the same impossible journey to find the king, the grail, the truth, and simply the journey itself.

Do you have favourite one piece theories? Like shanks being celestial dragon or having twin etc?
Hmmm, to be honest? The one that seems to make the most sense (at the time of typing this) is the theory of Bonney being an actual child who just uses her DF to look older in order to get a crew and rescue her father.
Shanks being a celestial dragon seems very likely since one of the silhouettes of the “Gods knights” being damn close to his + The entire interaction with the Gorosei
However for the more popular yet far fetched theories like Crocodile being Luffys mother, eeeeh- nah. I mean it sure as hell would be entertaining but I don’t think so.
I do have a few theories surrounding Buggy but sweet lord that would take forever to go through

One Piece 1096 Spoilers!
... Things I liked this week!
GOOD cover page, love seeing Zoro in goofy predicaments again
This entire GV situation is horrific to a degree that feels asinine to describe... but calling the people being hunted "rabbits" genuinely makes my stomach turn
Who are the "children"... are they other Holy Knights, or CDs we'll meet in the future?
Oh hi Kong! you will never be able to wash the blood from your hands!
I love that Garp didn't give a shit until he heard Roger was going to be there. That's so yaoi!
I *entirely* forgot that this is where Kaido got his fruit.
oh Ginny, such a fateful endeavour...
I fucking love Kuma and Ivankov so much more with this flashback...
I'm probably off the mark but that flag of Rocks'... does he have the Mero Mero no Mi?? This feels stupid but that skull *looks* like its flaming... it could be the Yami Yami but then that'd surely be more obvious... idk!
THE
ROCKS
FUCKING
PIRATES
ARE IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!
god I got shivers when I beheld this page... the utter hype on display!
so aside from the usual suspects we can see Captain John and Shiki, as well as Gloriosa!! I had no idea she was in this crew but waow!! Bad bitchery all round!!
and two other shadowy figures who get closeup panels... who could they be...?
"Today's the final fight, I assume"... "That's the idea!!" ngl those "Rocks wasn't the villain" speculations are gaining ground...
Like it was be beautifully bleak if, when this concentrated effort to destroy the Celestial Dragons in one fell swoop failed and Rocks was defeated, THIS was what made Big Mom and Kaido into the monsters they'd become. I can't help but wonder how this influenced Whitebeard afterwards too...
as my OP Bestie said, Roger looks so much Shanks minus moustache and captain's hat that it's a little discombobulating lmao
the skull dude and baddie behind Figarland look really cool... we likely won't see them again but I like these little incidental character designs.
BOGART! the years have been kind to him I must say
jfc, Ivankov was THIS close to being a big blue dragon... lucky for him I guess. the fruit he did eventually get is way more his style hehe
how the hell did they escape if fucking SATURN and possibly other Gorosei were there?? not to mention the 3 way wam bam going on down below?? I don't know that we'll ever see all of what happened here (the important stuff anyway) but MAN I hope we do somehow
hell, Gloriosa is still alive last I heard, she can spill the beans! or Stussy! or Shiki even if he's in canon limbo!
man the sky above God Valley is gonna look like Swiss cheese with all of the haki splitting going on below
KUMA HAS BECOME CATHOLIC
This boy saved 500 people with a power he only just obtained... I need to see who's responsible for giving him the name 'Tyrant' bc i am going to redden his arse for besmirching my boy Kuma's name!!!!!!
so, is this church dedicated to the worship of Nika? we've not really seen religion outside of Skypeia... how intriguing...
I think it's safe to say Ginny will eventually be the mother of Bonney hehe... she and kid Kuma are really cute together... I guess next chapter, we see how she dies :'''D yippee....
goddddddddd what a tantalising chapter... as many new questions as answers... and more next week!! I'm going to be devastated and I can't wait!!
Until next week friends! 💪❌

So, I just finished the Priory of the Orange Tree. Excellent high fantasy, I enjoyed the world building and the characters and the plot (mostly, there's perhaps a few conveniences too many) except one thing.
What is the Saint the Saint... of? Virtuedom has a saint and his knights and the virtues as objects of worship but who, exactly, is the saint the Saint of. The Saint apparently made the afterlife, but what about the world? The people of Inys believe that Galian is holy, with great supernatural power, able to protect them, to create their afterlife in the celestial realm, etc. But how does this work? Do they think the Virtues themselves have some supernatural power and that he was the Most Virtuous and that made him holy? Do they think he was born special - and if so, how do they explain that? Do they think there was some god who raised him, or that slaying the nameless one somehow gave him supernatural power? The Priory reveres The Mother, but it's clear that they also believe in the other faiths of the south - the statue of The Mother wears a symbol of a different god, for example. The East has its dragon-religion, and their metaphysics seem to be based on ancient dragon-lore, so i get how that works. But i simply do not understand how the supernatural, metaphysical world works in the eyes of an scholar or sanctarian from Inys. When a child asks a priest "Why did the saint have all this supernatural power" I don't have any idea what the priest would answer. Perhaps it's a mystery, in the ancient sense, a miracle that cannot be understood, but virtuedom never seems like much of a mystery religion. There's just a little bit of theology missing for me to understand how the religion functions on a theological level. (As opposed to a ritual level or a political level, where the book explains it very well.) It's just a little niggling thing, but it's a gripe i can't shake.

WOW there was rly no other mention of figarland in film red and op wikis article hasn’t updated w 1086 so i had to go back and brush over to see where it was
after skimming the back half okay i have. new perspective ONE is that garland isn’t stated to be a world noble which i assumed the first time. he’s head of the knights and given a position of power in the holy land, obviously, if he can judge world nobles so freely (like.. enough to sentence one to death) and he does look like he’s in a position of power and knows it, like he gives off that air. but it’s not a stuck-up born-with-it air like other celestials
and then i realized that hes the former king of god valley, like in a very recent less-than-100-yrs-ago type. and uta was speculated to be a figarland after her relations w shanks were revealed.
at first i thought it would make sense, then, how shanks has gotten away with so much. (back when i thought garland was a celestial) that it explains why he was able to stop the war, and why sengoku said ‘because it’s you, i’ll allow it’ bc he didn’t rly have a choice in allowing it. that him seeing the elder planets was kinda like how mingo leveraged and weaponized his knowledge of the holy land. because it’s you, they said. and it would make sense, because shanks could have been born a celestial dragon but if he was found at god valley as a baby, or was placed on the oro jackson or w/e a la uta and the red-haireds, then he would grow up a pirate despite his heritage, but obviously if he would out then no one could deny him such. they sit at the top of the world for a reason
and then i backed off bc i realized it didn’t outright say garland was a world noble anywhere. so now my connection of shanks is coming from the god valley collection, and more in particular, the final words he says. on surface level he’s referring to mjosgard, but this is oda and nothing is ever only surface level. so if we are juxtaposing with shanks, then garland’s words surely are meant to be a foreshadowing. either into his character or shanks’. it really got me thinking on who shanks talked with the elder planets abt. luffy, or teach? but then, also, maybe roger? maybe rocks?? like, was he talking about a future problem, or something from the past coming to light instead????
anyone that protects scum is worse than scum themselves. my first thought immediately went to luffy. if we’re meant to tie garland in w shanks, and taking his words as some sort of future foreshadowing, and going off the assumption that shanks is going to be different bc god valley wasn’t around when he was growing up, then it’s gotta be him doing just that. like it’s gotta be more than snide words to mjosgard. maybe it’s abt shanks’ whole character, since 1076 (which i went back n glanced at to see if figarland was mentioned - nope) revealed that the crews under shanks’ fleet are kinda wishy-washy, and they joke abt protection money. shanks having so many common ppl -pirates no less- under him that can’t fend for themselves would be a good indicator in regards to what garland said. like i can see him saying that abt shanks. but, again, i can also see him saying that abt luffy. (i can also see it inadvertently coming back around to affect sanji, if the two ever interact, as yet another form of sanji rejecting his royal blood. but i digress-)
something abt god valley is going to be startlingly impt very quickly. its almost definitely been hit w an island-wiping beam like lulusia was, to have vanished like that in that manner of speaking (how sengoku warded others from investigating on their own and jus listening to him) and how the elder planets referred to lulusia in the original chapter it was blown to bits (a very different perspective this time around!!!! intriguing and eye-opening, rly wanna know where the nerona family lived before moving to the holy land. it couldn’t have been mother flame that did in god valley tho, or at least not whatever version they used on lulusia, since they talked abt it like they were testing a prototype. maybe they did have an ancient weapon at one point, and this is vp’s man-made counter to it like the blueprints franky had were the countermeasure to pluton?? vp took research on the void century from ohara over 20 yrs ago, and god valley vanished over 40, so if he (and therefore a rogue stella) found out a way to counter an ancient weapon, it would have to be after both. meaning the method of eliminating god valley and lulusia is similar but not the exact same, like an imitation
i wonder if god valley wraps all the way around, actually, bc roger and garp teamed up to protect celestial dragons. figarland is a judge onto the celestials in present day. the elder planets are partial to shanks, and garp views all celestials as scumbags (a la his convo w stelly) and dragon’s goal was to declare war specifically on the celestials. ik luffy’s mother has got to be impt, but i am starting to buy into his mother or grandmother being a world noble less and less, the more these egghead chapters reveal. garp and dragon just aren’t framed as having any partiality among celestial dragons. you would think if dragon met someone, that even if something terrible happened and they were judged by god’s knights, that dragon would take to heart that not all world nobles are bad (like we’ve been seeing w/ various donquixotes since the timeskip) and reconsider what he wants. but he doesn’t, so it doesn’t make sense for that to have happened. garp is the same way, and has been portrayed as such by his refusal to take an admiral slot since he made his debut in the manga.
but god valley fits into the puzzle somewhere, and shanks is the missing piece to something. like somehow, someone got a baby shanks aboard the oro jackson. was it garp, after the fighting w rocks was over and his guard duty was essentially done?? was it someone else at the time, either a celestial (mother???) or a former resident of god valley? i guess we technically don’t know when garland retired to the holy land, so god valley could have not been a kingdom for many many years prior to the roger+garp vs rocks crew showdown. but both of them being there and teaming up makes me think it has to do with shanks, or shanks was a result and/or consequence of such. and the garp connection makes me think there’s a dragon connection, too. there’s 16 yrs between shanks and dragon. if dragon happened to be a former marine, would he have been there? did he have something to do with shanks being looked after by roger’s crew?
and then i am. tepidly circling around the idea that shanks could be tied to luffy’s mother, somehow. if oda is setting up shanks and garland to be opposites or foils or something, and if garland’s final words are a reference to shanks and luffy in the future, then? ??????????? idk. i think comparing shanks and luffy wouldn’t be far off either, especially if there’s a hidden middle man tying them closer together. like they don’t have to be related, that’s not necessarily what i’m getting at. but it would be very interesting if luffy’s mother had something to do with nobility tied so closely to the world nobles.

hi. kaeya a nd diluc lore please
YIPPEE Under the cut. Because I am insane and ramble sooo much
Kaeya:
Kaeya's birth family, the Alberich Clan, rose to a place of prominence after the Cataclysm, because the ruling family of Khaenri'ah, the Eclipse Dynasty, had fallen, and the Alberich Clan took the initiative to gather survivors and protect them.
This is important because, due to the Alberich Clan's importance and prominence, Kaeya ends up being sent away as a spy.
(And I say spy very lightly, because I think it's more likely that he was sent to Mondstadt because 1) Mondstadt has a safer environment to grow up in than Khaenri'ah probably does, 2) If there's someone from Mondstadt, who Mondstadtian people Like and or look up too, who also understands Khaenri'ahn struggles and their way of life, it can make coming to peacefully agreements between the two a LOT easier, 3) if the worst case scenario does happen and Mondstadt and Khaenri'ah go to war against each other... Kaeya's knowledge of both nations will make him a very important asset)
So, at an undefined age (Personally I assumed it was 7-10 ish, because all we know is that it was a YOUNG age), Kaeya is left alone, in a rainstorm, outside of famed Mondstadt winery, home to the Ragnvinder Clan, the Dawn Winery, his father's last words to him being "This is your chance. You are our last hope. Forgive me, Kaeya," before Kaeya, as a young boy, was left to navigate an Archon's nation alone.
Kaeya, of course, ended up adopted by the Ragnvinders, Crepus Ragnvinder (Diluc's father) finding him on the road and hurrying him inside before the rains got harsher, deciding to have the boy stay as he got along with Diluc, and his father showed no signs of coming home.
So there Kaeya stayed.
Kaeya Alberich, one half of a pair, the left to Diluc's right, the gentle chill to Diluc's burning glory. They were a pair, Diluc, the Knight's youngest Cavalry Captain, and Kaeya, his right hand. Both of them battling as brothers through and through, enjoying life as siblings, in joy and care.
Until Diluc's 18th birthday.
Because on Diluc's 18th birthday, a dragon, known as Ursa the Drake (despite not being a Drake at all, Ursa was fr just a normal dragon, I have like a whole different post of thoughts abt him tbh), swept down and attacked the cart that Diluc and his father were traveling home in.
Crepus died jumping to Diluc's defense that night.
To Diluc, this was a massive blow, him and his father had been so close for as long as he'd lived, he didn't know how to handle the death, how to handle someone so important to him being DEAD. He is distraught, wrapped up in a anxious frantic worried thoughts.
But at least he had Kaeya, right?
Right?
Well, Kaeya, having lost his second father figure, was also severely rattled by it. Of course he was, Crepus was important to him, he was family!
But some part of him, the part that held it's loyalty to his original mission, to the people of Kahenri'ah, was almost relieved. Because with Crepus gone he didn't have as much to worry about when it came to being found out, or to complications in when he had to chose a side (and he WOULD likely have to choose a side).
But Kaeya still loved him as a father, and was wreaked with guilt over feeling that way.
So, Kaeya decided he didn't want to hide his past anymore.
And came clean to Diluc.
About everything.
Or at least, enough of everything.
He told him he was a Spy, he told him he was an Agent of Khaenri'ah, that he was of a nation wreaked in Abyss and hidden from the stars.
Diluc didn't take it well.
So he drew his blade, and the brothers battled almost to the death on the steps of the Dawn Winery.
That was how Kaeya got his Vision. In a battle of rain and fire and betrayal and grief and AGONY, he, who held no reverence to the gods, not really, was granted Celestial might, given a cold gem of ice.
And so the brothers parted ways.
And now Kaeya sees his Vision as a stern reminder that he must ALWAYS live his life bathed in lies. He must keep the shroud drawn over his true self at all times. He cannot afford to mess up or he will die or be hated, or be run out of the city, any number of horrid things that he can't afford.
(THAT'S ALSO WHY HSI VISION ONLY HAS TWO WINGS ON IT INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD MONDTSADT THREE!! ITS BECAUSE OF HIS CONFLICTED LOYALTY!!!!!)
So he took up the position Diluc left open in the Knights, and became the new Cavalry Captain, all silver-tongued and gently woven of spiderwebs.
Diluc:
Diluc got his Vision when he was 10, a symbol of burning resolve when he decided to become a Knight.
The Knights, of course, welcomed such a burning young prodigy into their ranks! Especially the son of the esteemed and loved Ragnvinder Clan!!!
And so Diluc, with his dear adoptive brother, strove to be the best the Knights had ever seen. And for a while, he was!! He really was!!
But then of course, his 18th birthday happened, and everything came apart.
You see, aside from the stuff with Kaeya, Diluc also had to confront a hidden past of his father's. Because Crepus had been dealing with the Fatui. Ursa the Drake's attack was orchestrated BY the Fatui (I assume it's because Crepus wanted to stop dealing with them and was cutting their business to an end and he didn't want that, but that's not rlly made clear), forcing Crepus to use the Delusion they'd given him to defend Diluc, the usage of which killed him.
And yet that wasn't all.
Because the Knights refused to acknowledge Crepus's sacrifice, instead intending to frame the incident as a tragedy that DILUC prevented from being of greater harm, despite Diluc's protest and clear discomfort with it.
So Diluc left.
He threw his Vision to the floor of the Knight's Headquarters along with his jacket and left, picking up the Delusion that had once been his father's and setting off to find his own answers in the world.
And for four years he made the lives of the Fatui HELL. He tore their strongholds apart in his search for answers, killed and maimed and became such an efficient destructive force that the HARBINGERS THEMSELVES took to hunting him down until he escaped their grasps by joining an intelligence network and returning home to Mondstadt.
He didn't pick his Vision back up until he broke his Delusion breaking out of Fatui custody after taking the fall for an escaped Fatui prisoner (Collei <3), and Kaeya gifted it back to him in a vase (that you can actually interact with in the Dawn Winery !!)
So now he dedicates his time to defending his home. He'll fight for Mondstadt until he dies. And maybe that doesn't bode well for the future, but it's what he's always done, and having been a Knight since childhood? It's really all he knows how to do in order to feel "Normal".

So, I'm mildly curious, what are some yes/no conditions when it comes to some of the common monsters? Like, for me, if a werewolf turns into a mindless murder-obsessed creature on the full moon, that's a no; running on subconscious or actual wolf personality, I can work with that. So, what are some yes/no conditions for the following monsters: werewolf, vampire, dragon, fae, angel, demon, elder god, merfolk, & alien?
*cracks knuckles* Let me get into the ideals of my hypothetical monster boyfriend/girlfriend...
WEREWOLVES!
YES! Must retain full intellectual faculties when In The Fuzz, animalistic instincts only enhancing their natural personalities. Ready to fight to protect should the need to arise, but has a means to manage any prey drive that may come with the transformation (as I have a pet dog). Likes to hold hand as we take walks and then when we get home, fluffy cuddles ensue to warm up from the evening chill.
NO! Brain reduces to basic animal intelligence is a no-go; cannot verbally consent, therefore will not date. If they look at my doggy like she's a tasty treat while In The Fuzz, their ass is out. Also, if the werewolf is a Lon Chaney Jr.-styled humanoid wolfman, I'm not keen on asphyxiation of the not-erotic kind.
VAMPIRES!
YES! Always asks to be invited in because they're polite, even if I give them consent to just come on in. Despite having the suave gothic aristocratic aesthetic, is a sucker (heh) for going into bat form because being wrapped up in a blankie burrito is cozy and adorable. Enjoys going to the library and comparing various editions of old books. If given consent to drink blood should the need arise, will establish a signal to stop drinking so as to prevent anemia and/or death by blood loss
NO! Count Orlok faced plague metaphor vampire is a no-go, also Count Orlok looks like that fucking egghead Solas. Vampires who were turned as a minor and never aged is big No because ew. Non-consenting hypnosis eyes or manipulation. No sucking my body into a desiccated husk like a spider. No recreation of that one scene in Dracula where Mina is traumatically force-fed the blood of the same vampire who killed her best friend; also, no killing and/or turning my best friends into vampires against their will.
DRAGONS!
YES! Big, strong, scaly, intelligent, has a nice house someplace quiet where they can hide their hoard in the big basement... or a castle. Catlike behavior, tends to go a bit tsundere when compared to cat but will not refuse scritches. Often teases about "eating" me. Treasure hoard means financial security. Loud and fire-breathing and ready to defend their territory in a glorious kaiju-sized battle, but at the end of the day will snuggle close until we fall asleep together, covering me with their wings like a blanket.
NO! Literally eats me. Or torches me. Or crushes me. Or drops me from hundreds of feet in the air.
FAE!
YES! ...I'm iffy about the idea of dating one of the fair folk because odds are good it'll end badly, but... may date a fae if there is no trickery involved or if they CLEARLY COMMUNICATE that going on a trip to meet the family in Fae World will or will not result in my returning home and discovering 50 years passed or some shit. I dunno, I feel like the Irish in me is screaming "DO NOT FUCK WITH THE FAIR FOLK FIGURATIVELY OR LITERALLY!"
NO! Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight situation. Or if I'm used as a Tam Lin-style tithe paid to hell. Or if I return home from a trip to Fae World and 50 years passed while I was gone.
ANGELS!
YES! (At least this would eliminate some occasional existential anxiety for good.) Depending on their place in the celestial hierarchy, they tend to take on A Form One Is Comfortable With so I don't get incinerated by their radiance. Has a naturally comforting presence but won't hesitate to throw hands; often serious but has a great sense of humor. Multiple wings = multiple fluffy blankets for hugs and cuddles. May be bashful... unless they're one of Samyaza's fallen angels. Ayyyy.
NO! How exactly is one meant to comfortably cuddle with flaming intersecting wheels with eyes? So many eyes...
DEMONS!
YES! Not the DOOM kind of demon. They could be a playful imp, a tantalizing succubus, a towering mountain of muscle and horns. Sophisticated as hell, makes plenty of lewd commentary but suddenly turns into a stuttering mess when given genuine affection. Once one has earned their loyalty and trust, they would fight all of heaven and hell for you if asked. An epic tale of the fallen angel turned noble demon receiving forgiveness and love... but still happily spanks your ass when you least expect it.
NO! Demonic possession and all that entails doesn't sound too much fun but that aside, if they go full DOOM and do to my doggy what happened to Daisey, well... may the Lord smile and the Devil have mercy, for I will have none.
ELDER GODS!
YES! I know "Elder God" was specified, but I'd risk a tango with a Deep One... Yig's a Great Old One but I do like snakes... but if we're talking actual Elder Gods, I might be convinced to have a one time thing with Nodens if his "old man" shape is like a beefy silver fox...
NO! Insanity and rapidly diminishing life expectancy is a pretty strong deterrent.
MERFOLK!
YES!
Tumblr media
Need I say more?
NO! Don't drag me underwater to drown and eat me and we're good.
ALIENS!
YES!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO! I don't care how many SFM porn vids I have to dig through for the good shit, I'm not banging anything that looks or sounds like a vorcha.
