Jitters No More
Sequel to Showtime
i finished this. almost a year ago lol. i need to stop hoarding my finished fics lol
----------
Fandom: Julie and the Phantoms
Ship(s): Gen (hints of Juke)
Characters (lee/ler): Switch!Julie, Luke, Reggie, Alex
Word Count: 1488 words
Summary: Another gig is coming up soon, and Julie finds herself nervous once more. She forgot to account for the fact that the boys could actually touch her, this time.
[ao3 link]
--------------------
They’d done it dozens of times before, all sat in the studio in near silence as they did their own things, but this time it felt different.
Maybe it was Reggie sitting on the ground, leaning up against her legs as he restrung his bass. Maybe it was Luke, draped inelegantly over the couch next to her, taking up so much room that his head rested in her lap. Maybe it was Alex, who had squeezed the back of her neck on the way to the chair he was currently sprawled in, practicing keeping rhythms on his thighs.
Julie, for her part, sucked all the warmth in— and that was odd, too. You’d think ghosts would be cold, even if they suddenly got the ability to touch humans (or, at least, Julies) again, but no. They were just as warm as any living person— as she tipped her head back against the couch and hummed under her breath, testing harmonies for tomorrow in her head. She closed her eyes and let her fingers dance in the air as if she were playing her piano, trying to work the muscle memory into her fingers.
Luke’s head shifted on her thigh, and that warning was the only reason she didn’t jump when his voice rang out into the quiet room. “Ready for the gig, Julie?”
Julie snorted, dropping her hands and opening her eyes. “Yeah, ask me again tomorrow.”
Alex made a sympathetic sound, stilling his own hands as well. “Nervous?”
Reggie glanced up at her, still slowly and carefully tightening the new string on his bass.
“I guess, yeah. I don’t think I ever won’t be. But like you guys said, right? You learn to use it.”
“And you also learn ways to calm down.” Luke said.
Julie glanced down at him, mouth open to reply, but the words quickly died in her throat as she watched that slow, sly grin spread across his face. Very pointedly in her direction. All of Julie’s breath left her in a woosh, and she felt a nervous smile try to rise up on her face.
“Now— wait just a second!”
Alex grinned, scooting forward to the edge of his seat. “Are we tickling the jitters out of Julie?”
Reggie plucked his new string, a perfectly tuned A ringing out in the room, and then carefully  placed his bass aside. “I think we are.”
“I think we are not!” Julie called out, trying to shift out from under Luke so she could crawl up from the couch and make a dash for the door.
Luke rose slowly, turning his body with it so he could face her. He reminded her a bit of a tiger about to pounce, every movement slow and smooth and deliberate. And that stupid sly grin wasn’t doing anything to make her feel less like prey.
Unfortunately, watching Luke like a cornered animal gave the others more than enough time to get into position. The first squeeze at Julie’s knee, bare through the giant rips in her baggy jeans, made her yelp and jump. The second made her squeak and break into giggles while she tried to jostle her leg to dislodge Reggie’s hand. Reggie’s fingers on her leg were swiftly joined by a set of fingertips at her neck and ears, Alex having snuck behind the couch for his own attack while she wasn’t looking.
“Guys— come on!” She said, her voice embarrassingly shrill and peppered with involuntary giggles.
Luke tsked at her. “Julie, Julie, Julie. Did you really think we would have forgotten?”
She shook her head against Alex’s fingers, which Luke must’ve taken for an answer, because he laughed.
“Good, cuz we didn’t. I mean, come on, it was only a matter of time.”
She squealed and kicked out as Reggie started squeezing up the exposed portions of her thighs. She really regretted wearing those jeans today. She was never gonna wear them around the guys again, her legs wouldn’t be able to take it. Reggie just laughed, which only made her laugh more, because his laughter was so contagious.
“Reggie!”
“That’s my name!”
“Cut it out!”
Reggie hummed, like he was actually considering it. “Mm, no. Maybe later.”
She let out an even more shrill noise when Luke’s fingers finally joined in, callused fingertips sneaking along the sliver of stomach exposed by her crop top. Never again, she swore, just like the jeans. She’d never wear anything even remotely exposing ticklish spots in front of the boys again. It was all long-sleeved turtlenecks and snowpants from here on out.
“This so isn’t fair!” She laughed out, shoving at Luke’s hands.
Alex laughed, his breath ruffling her hair. “Who ever said anything about fair? You saw that last tickle fight.”
Tickle fight. That was right.
Julie lunged forward, flopping off the couch onto the rug below. Luke hissed out a startled curse, jumping back on the couch a little bit almost like a startled cat. Reggie yelped as she tripped over him, and she made a note to apologize to him later. Alex himself looked about ready to launch over the back of the couch himself.
“Julie,” he said, eyes wide and concerned. “Are you okay? Did we go too far?”
Julie huffed out a heavy breath, a grin still tugging at her mouth. “No. I just figured it’s easier to get revenge from down here.”
Reggie seemed to realize very quickly that he was the only person on the ground, yelling as he tried to scramble up onto the couch. Julie laughed and pulled him back down, scribbling under one of his arms so he couldn’t pull himself up again. With her free hand, Julie reached up to scrabble at Luke’s knee through his jeans. Even with the fabric in the way, it seemed as though her nails were killer, based on the way he laughed and tried to flinch away.
Alex shrugged, seeming to be fine with this new direction, and hopped over the back of the couch so he could wrap Luke in a bear hug and pluck at his ribs, just like last time. Luke’s laughter pitched up, and Julie grinned when she realized his now-trapped position meant he couldn’t successfully squirm his way away from her hands.
“Who’s laughing now, Luke?” She said.
Alex laughed. “I think it’s him.”
Then Julie shrieked and crumpled as Reggie managed to slip his hand up under the arm she had raised to tickle Luke. She slammed her arm down to her side and fell back into laughter, literally, as she collapsed on Reggie’s chest.
“Oops, never mind,” Alex said. “It’s you, again.”
“Shut up!”
Julie gathered her strength and managed to get control over her hands once more, sending one to skitter up Reggie’s ribs and the other to scribble into his stomach. Reggie squealed and gave up his own tickling, instead trying to curl into a ball around Julie’s hands.
“I’ll save you, Reg!” Luke called, and it was all the warning Julie got before Luke broke free of Alex’s grip, landing on the ground just behind her and digging his hands into her ribs.
Julie squealed, arching her back, but only let her fingers falter on Reggie for a moment. Alex laughed and slipped off the couch, lightly scribbling one hand against Reggie’s nape and the other against Luke’s stomach. Julie pulled one hand away from Reggie to squeeze at Alex’s side, just because he wasn’t getting tickled enough. Luke seemed to like that idea, because he did the same, laughing even harder as Alex pulled away from both of them to curl up just like Reggie.
After that, the tickle fight tapered off bit by bit, until they all laid in a tangled pile on the old rug. Julie’s head rested on Alex’s stomach, his fingers absent-mindedly stroking through her hair. Luke’s head rested on her stomach, and Reggie was sprawled across his torso in a way that looked rather uncomfortable for the both of them, but neither seemed inclined to move.
“You probably need to tune again,” Julie murmured, staring at the ceiling with no desire to move. “The strings will have relaxed some by now.”
Reggie groaned, fumbling around until he found her hand to hold, the other grasping onto one of Alex’s. “I’ll do it later.”
Luke huffed. “Shut up, I’m trying to sleep.”
“You shut up,” Julie said.
“All of you shut up,” Alex said.
“Ready for the gig tomorrow?” Luke asked, as if he had not just told everyone to stop.
“Might need another round tomorrow,” Julie felt relaxed enough to admit. “I’ll let you know.”
Reggie laughed, squeezing her hand. Luke reached up and tweaked her leg, making her yip. Alex groaned, but she could hear the smile in his voice.
“Well, at least we can finally deal with your jitters ourselves, now.” Luke said.
“Watch it,” she said. “I can deal with yours, too.”

TICKLETOBER 2023
Prompt Day 15: Tickle Fight
Fandom: Julie and the Phantoms (I freaking love this show)
Platonic, just the boys being boys in 1995, pre-show.
Summary: It’s been a couple weeks since Luke left home. It’s hard.
This is a tickle fic - don’t like, don’t read. Beware some slight angst at the start.
Fic Length: Tangerine
The Only Choice
Luke stumbled into the garage, eyes red and damp from crying. The hoodie he had on was bespeckled with raindrops and streak marks from the bushes behind his parents house. He had watched them for a while today through their large 3-pane window. His mother kept glancing out as if she sensed him there. As if he were a ghost.
It had only been a couple of weeks.
At first they had tried reaching out to him. Reached out to Reggie, and to his parents - which ended with a black eye for Reggie, as he would not tell his parents where Luke was. Luke didn’t want to be found. Being found meant giving up on the band. And that was a choice Luke wouldn’t make. If leaving home was what would allow Sunset Curve’s dream to be a reality, then that was it. There wasn’t a choice.
But running away… still hurt.
And it hurt more, when they stopped chasing.
Watching his mom from the bushes… He knew how much it was hurting her.
But he wouldn’t turn back.
He couldn’t do that.
But fuck, if it didn’t rip him apart.
He pulled open the doors, expecting it to be empty, with how early in the morning it was. He had stopped going to school with the boys anyway, as the school would have to contact his parents. Better to just be fully missing. He wasn’t really missing much anyway.
To his surprise, Bobby, Reggie and Alex were all in the garage, Alex pacing around, with Bobby and Reggie sitting on the couch. They looked up as he came in.
“Luke, thank god,” Bobby said, crossing quickly over, and giving Luke a hug. He pulled away, searching the boy’s face. “Where the hell have you been? I woke up this morning and you were gone.”
“We had no way to reach you, man,” Alex said. “Bobby called our landlines, panicking.”
“I’m just glad I picked up, and not my parents.” Reggie said, staring off at some invisible fear across the room.
“Sorry, guys. I didn’t mean to worry anyone.”
Bobby took a better look at Luke, hand still on his shoulder. “Went to your parents' place?”
Luke looked up at him, timid red eyes meeting Bobby’s brown ones before flicking away.
“Luke…”
“I’m fine. It’s fine,” he said, pushing past Bobby and into the center of the room. “You guys should, uh, you should be at school.”
Reggie spoke up from the couch, finally turning to face Luke. “We were worried about you dude.”
“Come on, guys - Bobby, you almost never see me in the mornings, it’s not that uncommon -”
“We’ve been worried about you,” Alex said. “For days.” He stepped closer to Luke. “Talk to us. Please.”
Luke’s eyes flicked over each of them, and he wetted his lips, his eyes burning again. “I’m fine,” He forced with a watery smile. “I-I just…” Tears slipped over the edges of his eyes. “I’m…”
Alex stepped forward, wrapping his arms around him.
Reggie and Bobby were next, joining the group hug as Luke cried.
“...It’s not like we ever got along super well…” Luke said wetly.
“But they're still your parents.” Alex said.
“And she’s still your mom,” Reggie whispered.
“It’s okay to be sad about it,” Bobby said. “None of us would judge you if -”
“No.” He was firm in his reply. “I want to be with you guys. I want to be in the band.” Luke's grip tightened on Alex’s hoodie. “I just wish there wasn’t a choice.”
“...Hopefully one day our folks can forgive the…choices… we make.” Alex said pointedly.
“I don’t think anyone can forgive Reggie’s choice to wear plaid 24/7, though.” Bobby chuckled.
“Excuse you, my plaid shirts are a staple.”
“Yeah, stapled to you.” Bobby tweaked Reggie’s hip where the shirt was tied, earning a yelp for his efforts. Reggie’s spasm knocked the group off balance, and they stumbled onto a heap on the couch with varying groans.
“Reggie, what the hell.”

“Hey, Bobby tickled me!”
“Not my fault you’re so sensitive,” Bobby said, wiggling his fingers across Reggie’s exposed side.
“Hehehehey! Bohohobbehehey stohohop!” Reggie squirmed trying to get away, elbowing Alex.
“Hey, watch the flailing!”
“Yohohohou’re juhuhust as bahahahahad!” Reggie countered, practically shrieking as Bobby spidered on his stomach.
“Reggie, shhh, you’re gonna wake my parents~” Bobby intoned teasingly, knowing full well his parents had already left for work.
Luke rolled his eyes at their antics, a smile working its way onto his face. Alex noticed, and smirked at him evilly.
The smile dropped from Luke’s face so fast. “A-alex, I know what you’re thinking -”
“Yeah?” Alex feigned a questioning look “And what, exactly, am I thinking there Luke?”
“Dohohon’t even - dohohn’t -”
“I haven’t even raised my hands yet, Luke.” At that, Alex followed through on his statement, raising his hands up and wiggling them at Luke, who blushed furiously, pushing himself back and into the couch in an effort to get away. But instead of being smart, and getting up to run, he shrunk down until his own hoodie had rode up.
“Trying to become one with the floorboards?” Alex teased, his fingers descending on the poor boy’s ribs. High pitched cackles started from the singer, and Alex tried and failed to resist his own grin.
“AhahahaHAHAHAlehehEheHEx!”
“LuhuUHUHUHke~” He mocked back, beginning to laugh along with him.
Suddenly he felt a pair of hands squeezing at his hips, and he barked out his own laugh which dissolved into giggles, as Bobby and Reggie ganged up on the pair, Luke still at their mercy in addition to Alex.
Reggie tased up and down Alex’s sides, as Bobby squeezed Luke’s thighs, saying some shit about the “7 seas” which only made Luke laugh harder. “Plehehehease! Bohohohob- AH NOHOHAHAHA!” Bobby had hit a sweet spot, it seemed, Luke’s laughter reaching a new height and tears pricking his eyes for another reason entirely.
Though Luke was lost in his laughter, in the far reaches of his mind he had to admit - this was nice. Nice to let go of all his worries and stress came with upending your life and running away. Nice to remember they were still kids. Kids who could unwind, and be dorks together. Nice, to have a tickle fight, as surprising as that was. It was nice to be here, with his other family.

I Belong in Your Arms
Happy JATP Feb Fan Fest day!!!! This is my gift for @interestinglittlerelationship! Hope you enjoy! (Also sorry I'm a bit late!)
--------
Relationship - Willex Rating - Teen Additional Tags - Foster Care AU, Friends to lovers (mainly friends at this point), hurt/comfort, heavy on the comfort!
Summary -
Alex takes a right at the prompting of his phone and spots the hanging sign for Bohemia Roast. A grin spreads across his face when he spots a familiar figure lounging on a table just outside the cafe. He debates trying to sneak up on them for a second, but decides against it. The accidental elbow he got to the ribs last time he tried makes a solid case against it. “Willie!” he calls out instead, tucking his phone into his pocket. Willie looks up and Alex can see the exact moment he spots him, because his whole face lights up. Alex is still a good ten feet away when Willie rushes him, nearly bowling them both over onto the sidewalk with the force of his hug. Alex squeezes them back just as tightly. It’s been way too long since they’ve actually seen each other in person.
Read Here on AO3, or read the whole fic below the cut!
-------
Alex hurries to the front of the bus, shooting a quick smile and a “Thank you” to the driver before stepping off onto the sidewalk. He’s 99% sure this is the right stop. Well. Okay, more like 64% sure, but that’s just the anxiety talking. His phone buzzes in his hand, telling him to go left. If Google can be trusted, his destination is only a five-minute walk away.
He turns and starts down the sidewalk. The sun is bright above him, even though it’s the middle of October. He ducks around a young couple taking pictures with some celebrity impersonator with a flashy white wig. Seriously? He hadn’t realized that was still a thing that happened outside of theme parks. Though maybe Hollywood is a bit like a theme park. It would explain a thing or two.
“Your hair’s longer,” Alex mumbles without letting go, those same strands tickling his nose.
“You still have this hoodie,” Willie responds, his fingers tugging on the pink fabric.
“Someone told me pink was my color,” Alex snarks.
“That person must be a genius,” Willie says, chuckling. “I missed you,” he adds a moment later.
“I missed you too.”
Alex doesn’t bother saying more than that, not yet. Right now, he can just soak up Willie’s warmth and familiar presence. Sure, Willie’s hair is a bit longer, and Alex is taller than him now, but they’re still the same people they were a few years ago when they met. And even though they haven’t seen each other all that often since Alex got moved out of the group home after a couple of weeks, they’ve still been in each others’ corners ever since that first night.
Eventually, Willie relaxes a bit and Alex pulls back. “So,” Willie starts with a smirk, “what brings you to Hollywood?”
“Oh, all the famous people,” Alex jokes. “I think I even saw Marilyn Monroe back there.”
“Wow, de-aging technology has gotten so fancy,” Willie retorts with a laugh. “Hasn’t she been dead for like… a while?”
Alex shrugs, faining innocence. “I’m just telling you what I saw.”
Willie stares at him for a second before they both burst into giggles. It feels good, laughing with Willie again. In person, not over the phone.
“Come on, you have got to try this place’s iced teas,” Willie declares.
Alex just grins as Willie grabs his hand and pulls him into the little cafe. The interior is warm and cozy, lit largely by the sunlight that streams in through the front windows. Shelves along one wall hold a mix of plants and in-house coffee blends. The rest of the space is taken up by stools and tables, along with a couple of couches. The place is just the right level of loud, enough that Alex can feel the life flowing around him but not enough that he feels the need to shout.
“Okay I know I said tea,” Willie says as they approach the counter, “but no pressure there. What do you want?”
Alex inhales the scent of fresh coffee. It smells great… for another time. “No I think I’m with you in the tea club today,” he responds. “Dan and Judy are nice and all, but I swear coffee is the only thing they drink. Period. I haven’t had a decent iced tea in like six months.”
Willie nods. “Makes sense, they sound like coffee people.” They glance up at the menu board. “I was going to try the passion fruit one this time, but the strawberry citrus I had last time was sick.”
“I’ll trust your judgment,” Alex agrees, swinging their still joined hands back and forth a bit. “Hasn’t steered me wrong yet.” He pauses, thinking. “Well, okay, except for that sushi thing. And Thor whatever number the last one was. And that dog that-”
“Hey, that last one is Google’s doing,” Willie protests, cutting him off. “I just gave you what the top search result was.”
“Yeah and then I got bit by a freaking lapdog,” Alex retorts, a laugh bubbling up behind his words.
“Wow, ‘freaking’?” Willie teases back. “Someone’s working on their language.”
Alex groans and drops his forehead down on their shoulder. “Dan and Judy blow a gasket whenever I say anything even remotely connected to a swear word,” he explains. “Like, come on, if you’re gonna be foster parents, you’ve got to be able to manage kids that come from homes where swearing is a thing.”
Willie winces sympathetically. “That’s rough, dude. You should leave them a nasty review on Rate My Foster Parent.”
“That’s not a real site,” Alex mumbles, but a smile is starting to pull at his lips again.
“But it could be,” Willie counters.
Alex rolls his eyes, then smirks. “Oh but how would lovely individuals like Ms. Hannigan ever stay in business then?” he retorts.
Willie shudders. “All the more reason for it to be a thing,” they decide. “I had to watch the 2014 Annie way too many times with Lydia while I was with the Bennets.”
“You have a point,” Alex concedes as the person in front of them finishes ordering and steps away.
“What can I get for y’all?” the woman behind the counter asks with a friendly smile.
“I think we’re in the market for iced tea,” Willie responds.
He mirrors the barista’s grin, but it’s not the same as the easy one he’d been wearing a moment ago. It’s a bit tighter around the edges, lips closer together and fewer crinkles around his eyes. Alex is familiar with having different smiles for different situations of course, he probably has half a dozen himself. And Willie’s “I’m being polite” smile isn’t nearly as distinctive as it was three years ago when they met, which is a good sign. But still, Alex wishes he could lift some of the weight that pulls at their face when they’re pretending to be happy, but not sure if they’re allowed to exist.
“And you said the strawberry citrus, right?”
Alex starts, realizing he zoned out for a second. “Yeah, that one,” he tells Willie. He gets a glimpse of the real smile again at that. It makes him feel all light inside, just like it always has.
Willie finishes ordering and reaches for his wallet.
“No it’s cool, I got it,” Alex says, hand slipping into his own pocket.
“Nah, Caleb gave me an allowance for this kind of stuff,” Willie responds, pulling out a $10 bill. “I think he’s trying to teach me financial responsibility or something.”
Alex shoots him a questioning glance. Willie’s eyes say, talk about it later. So Alex lets it go and just drops a $1 in the tip jar. The woman tells them it will be right out, so they head over to the other end of the counter. Alex leans back against one of the tall tables to wait.
He’s a bit startled a moment later by a warm arm pressing against his own. He glances over to see Willie almost leaning on him, arms folded protectively and eyes fixed on the people behind the counter. Alex can’t help but remember all the times Willie grabbed his hand or pressed their feet together under the table or wrapped him in a hug back when they were in the same foster home. It had been nice back then, but 13-year-old Alex hadn’t considered why that was Willie’s first instinct for helping him. Heck, he hadn’t even heard of love languages till around a year ago.
Alex hesitates, then wraps his arm loosely around Willie’s shoulders. They don’t pull away, to Alex’s relief. Instead, Willie edges a bit closer, shoulders relaxing a little. Alex fights the urge to brush his lips against their cheek, just to see if that would make the real smile come back faster.
Neither of them stirs for a few minutes. The cafe continues to move around them but it doesn’t touch them. They just stay in their little bubble as they wait for their teas. They could be talking, but it’s nice to be quiet every once in a while with someone you love.
Eventually someone calls Willie’s name and slides their drinks across the counter. Willie darts forward, grabs the cups, and is back in front of Alex within moments. “Inside or outside?” he asks, grinning.
Alex glances out the window. “It’s still warm enough for outside,” he decides, taking his cup and grabbing Willie’s now-free hand.
“I don’t know, you might catch a chill, white boy,” Willie teases, following him out to the table where he’d been waiting earlier.
“Eh maybe I won’t get yelled at for not going to church on Sunday then,” Alex jokes.
Willie frowns and Alex regrets his words. “They shouldn’t be yelling at you,” Willie points out softly. “Especially not for that.”
Alex shrugs. “Yeah, they shouldn’t,” he agrees. “But there’s not much I can do about it.”
Willie nods and squeezes his hand. They have to let go of each other as they sit down on either side of a small, wooden table, but Alex brushes his toes against Willie’s, just to keep the contact he knows is nice for them both.
“So, tell me all about-” Alex sets down his cup to throw up some jazz hands, “-Caleb Covington?”
Willie giggles. “Yep I guess that is how I text about him, isn’t it,” they remark.
“There are sparkles around his name like every other time,” Alex confirms, laughing.
“And I stand by it,” Willie states. “This guy is very extra. But… not in a bad way? I don’t think?”
Alex leans forward, resting his elbows on the table to listen. “I mean he did give you coffee money,” he points out. “Isn’t that stuff supposed to stunt your growth or something?”
“If I didn’t already know that was a myth, I’d believe it now,” Willie responds. “I swear Caleb drinks like half a pot of the stuff with breakfast and he’s like six-three or something.”
Alex laughs. “So what you’re saying is that you need something else to blame for being shorter than me now?”
“Guess so,” Willie says, nodding. They don’t say anything else for a moment and Alex waits, knowing by now that sometimes they just need a minute to collect their thoughts. “He’s cool so far,” Willie says finally, a bit softer than before. “And he’s gay, which is nice. I haven’t met his boyfriend yet, but he sounds chill from what Caleb says.”
“That’s great, Wills,” Alex remarks, offering an encouraging smile.
“Yeah, he’s like the chillest foster parent I’ve ever had with all that,” Willie agrees. “He even… um… he mentioned we might even be able to get the legal stuff squared away so I can start HRT if everything goes okay with the GP next month.”
Alex can’t help the surprised laugh that escapes him. “Willie, that’s awesome!” he declares, grabbing Willie’s hand again. “You’ve been wanting that for like… ever.”
Willie nods and offers a hopeful smile. “Well cross your fingers for me,” they answer. “I mean… I don’t know if I’ll last long enough for that to actually happen.”
Alex immediately reaches across the table and latches onto their other hand as well, making Willie look up at him. “Hey, no,” Alex says quietly. “No blaming yourself for any of that. It’s not on you to make yourself this perfect kid that fits with all the random expectations of stupid white people. They knew they weren’t going to get perfect kids when they registered to be foster parents. Heck, they signed up for not-perfect kids when they decided they wanted to have any kids at all. Other peoples’ bad choices and reactions aren’t your fault.”
Willie bites his lip but nods again. “Yeah. I know that,” he says. Alex isn’t fully convinced, but he doesn’t push it. “It just sucks that I’m the one who gets screwed up after.”
“Yeah, it does.” Alex squeezes Willie’s hands, then lets go of one to take a sip of his tea. “Oh dang, this is awesome,” he remarks.
Willie grins, not all the way but close enough to make Alex feel fluttery. “Right? I don’t know what kind of crack they put in these, but it’s seriously addictive.”
“Yes,” Alex responds, pointing at him before taking another swallow. “How’s yours?”
“Sick,” Willie says. He sips at his drink again, then adds, “Caleb apparently comes here a lot. It’s not that far from where he works so he’ll come here on lunch breaks or something sometimes?”
“I probably would too if I was close enough,” Alex admits.
“Same. But he brought me here like the day after I moved in, something about serious conversations requiring caffeine. But said ‘serious conversations’ were all like… what kind of breakfast food do I like? And favorite movies? And allergies, even though I’m pretty sure that’s already in my file or whatever?”
“Sounds like my level of serious conversation,” Alex says, chuckling. “But I think I’m starting to see what you meant before about him being extra…”
Willie laughs. “Yeah, he’s just like that I guess. I mean he runs this fancy club place on Sunset Boulevard, so I guess it checks out. The place kinda sounds like an old speak-easy sometimes from how he talks about it.”
“Good think alcohol isn’t illegal anymore then,” Alex jokes.
“Man, I don’t think he’d get caught even if it was,” Willie responds. “He’s like scarily good at talking people into things. These couple of missionary dudes showed up at our door last week and I’m pretty sure Caleb had them questioning their own fancy book by the time they left.”
Alex smirks. “Serves them right.” He falls silent for a moment, sipping his drink. “So you like it there?” he asks.
Willie bites his lip again and nods. “Yeah, I do. And I’m scared I’m gonna mess it up. That I’ll drive him away.”
Alex laces their fingers together a little more securely. “Well whatever happens, I’ll still follow you,” he promises, just like he has dozens of times over the last few years.
Willie smiles, a bit shaky but so real and honest that it makes Alex’s face warm in its glow. “You too,” they reply easily. “We’ll figure it out.”
“One day at a time,” Alex finishes.

3, 6, and 8 please for the Writer Ask Game 🙃
3. Is there any trope/scene you've been wanting to write?
I'd love to tackle the "enemies to friends to lovers" trope someday. I've had an idea cooking for a bit, and now that camp is fresh on my mind, playing with it would be a complete BLAST! There's also a scene involving an overturned kayak and a first kiss that I'm excited to tackle as well!
6. What character(s) do you find it most difficult to write?
If we're talking JatP (which is the only 'verse I'm writing in right now), I'd have to say Alex. Fanon has him as the emotionally stable, mature one out of the guys, and while that's all well and good, it doesn't translate well in Courty's brain when it comes to canon. When I watch the show, that's not the impression I get, and I tend to write him how I see him in the show rather than fanon.
8. Which fic or hc do you feel most proud of?
Oh man, tough call.
I'm going to cheat and pick two.
Midnights at Mona's is quite honestly (once it's finished) going to be my magnum opus for a bit. It's the longest story I've ever written, I'm crazy about the characters and their growth, and I'm SO excited to show everyone where it's headed from here! Add to that the fact that I got to also write in the 'verse that made me love the written word in the first place (Heartland), and I'm TICKLED that this idea ran through my head all those months ago!
Another one I'm desperately proud of is Fall Where They May. That little fic was NOT supposed to happen the way it did, but I think it's the one that is nearest and dearest to my heart. With MaM I at least had a direction. Fall Where They May happened off the top of my head as the story progressed, and I do feel it's the most poignant one I've written. Love and forgiveness in the midst of a hardship like an unplanned pregnancy, and two people figuring things out as they go along... I don't know. I guess I hope my story can give hope to someone who finds themself in a similar situation and can show them that just because they've been thrown a MASSIVE curveball in life that they can still find joy and fulfill whatever dreams they have!

Note
4 and 19 have tickled my fancy!
4. Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
I have some original fiction I've worked on for years on and off but I don't feel like it's at a point I'm ready to talk about them yet. When it comes to my fics my notable characters would be:
Josie - Julie's older cousin, Victoria's daughter, named for Josie and the Pussycats from the 2000s movie. Doesn't like labels but definitely has a thing for...
Sammi - Reggie's younger (older) sister, runs a bakery, brings croissants to a confrontation 😂
Queenie - Carrie's mom, Bobby's girlfriend/wife, pop star, producer, reputation as heartless but actually sweet and wise underneath all of the bravado
I also have one coming up in my jatp/stranger things fic who may or may not be a librarian 👀
19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
Oooh, oooh for once I actually have way too many works in progress! I'll give two because I can't pick. And they are long snippets because I love you guys.
WIP 1:
As soon as her dad was out of earshot, Carlos was turning to her with a smirk that left reality rushing back in.
“Ugh, I knew you helping me was too good to be true,” Julie sighed preemptively, not needing to hear what he had to say to know it was a complication she would now have to deal with.
Carlos pointed at himself in fake shock.
“Who me? We really are going to have sibling bonding time. At your Halloween party.”
Julie sagged in her chair, an even deeper sigh working its way out of her as she resigned herself to her fate.
“How did you know about that?”
Carlos folded his arms and scoffed as though it was a ridiculous question.
“I’m a genius, of course I know everything you’re thinking before you think it.”
Julie raised an eyebrow and tilted her head skeptically.
“Also our walls are thin and Flynn is very loud,” Carlos admitted.
WIP 2:
Peter followed the feeling with his eyes as it tugged his attention towards the house beside him, let it draw his gaze up and up until it landed on the second floor window there.
Peter stiffened, the realization of just whose bedroom that window led to washing over him in a rush of dread that fought the warm tingle for dominance leaving him nearly dizzy with conflicting feelings.
He had come back to his universe so determined, so committed, so ready to do better not just as Spider-Man but as Peter Parker too.
After talking to the therapist, he had even…he had even thought he might be ready to consider the possibility of falling in love again.
Just consider.
Because he knew…she…would want that.
Because deep down he knew that he wanted that too.
But there was one thing he knew he didn’t want, could never want, and that was to find love with one very specific person.
When he had talked to the kid on the roof he had told him that he lost…her…no, he lost Gwen.
And he had called her “his MJ”.
And that was true for him, true in all the ways that mattered.
But it was also a lie, a lie that had burned his mouth even as he said it with terrible possibility.
Because his universe did have an MJ.
And she used to be his neighbor, used to live in this house, beyond that window.
Peter stared up at the window for a long, breathless moment, his eyes searching for something he didn’t want to see but all he found was darkness. In fact the entire house was dark, the dilapidated porch looking just as abandoned as always. She wasn’t there. Why would she be? As far as he knew she hadn’t been home once since they graduated from high school.
Not for her dad’s funeral.
Not for Gwen’s.
He released a shaky sigh before forcing his gaze away from the house and back towards his original destination, back towards Aunt May and his hope for the future.
Because he was going to do better, he was.
He might even fall in love again. Someday. With someone.
Just not MJ Watson.

An Unlikely Partner
Summary: when the reader is paired with both simultaneously the most annoying and hottest guy in school for dance class, her feelings towards him might end up being more than just annoyance
Words: 8.6k
Warnings: Luke kinda being a bit of a dickhead and a very quick bit of tickling I guess
Pairings: alive!Luke Patterson x fem!reader (a bit of enemies to lovers and friends to lovers)
...........................................
So far your Monday was off to a decent start. Your weekend had been fairly eventful which, unfortunately, meant that you had to leave the school dance before you could hear Julie play. But you knew something had to have happened. She had missed the first three classes of school, and she hadn’t texted you or Flynn. You were starting to wonder if she was going to miss the fourth but she finally made it to the dance room a couple seconds after the bell rang. She took her spot next to you and Flynn and joined in on the warm up. “Jules so whatever happened with Nick?” you questioned as you stretched down to your toes.
Julie grimaced at the mention of the weekend. “Well I am embarrassed myself in front of him badly enough that I’m hoping I can avoid him for at least a week.”
“Oh come on, I’m sure it wasn’t that bad.”
Julie deadpanned. “He said that one of my songs had been stuck in his head and I told him someone should let it out.”
You exchanged a worried look with Flynn.
“Yeah, that’s pretty bad,” she admitted.
You attempted to reassure her. “But hey, look on the bright side, it can’t get much worse, right?”
“Don’t say that outloud, I’ll jinx myself,” Julie joked.
“I mean you’re safe in this class,” Flynn pointed out.
“True,” Julie sighed, as she bent down to stretch.
As you bent down again you swore you could hear a large group of voices coming from the hallway.
“You have to be fucking kidding me,” Julie groaned.
“What did I miss that you’re cursing?” Flynn joked.
Julie pointed through her legs at the door. “Look behind you.”
Flynn and you turned to see that the lacrosse team was entering the dance room, including Nick.
Julie moved closer to the two of you. “Remind me to never talk to him ever again,” she whispered.
Your dance class instructor, Mrs. Kelly, walked to the front of the room. “Alright dancers listen up, this week the lacrosse team will be joining us for class, so I want to make sure all of you are on your best behavior.” You all nodded in unison, but your attentions were cut short by coach Barron yelling.
“Remember boys this is not about flirting with girls, we are here to get better. We lost to Burbank! Burbank!” A couple boys winced at the volume.
Mrs. Kelly clapped her hands. “Alright, I think that’s enough of that. Boys I want you to each find your partner for this week,” she instructed.
A few boys began to move, but the majority of the team seemed to not want to move until coach Barron pushed them along. The three of you awaited your partners, and Julie tried to hide behind Flynn. But her plan was short lived as one of the players b-lined for Flynn before pulling her away.
“Sorry!” she whispered as she left the two of you.
“Well that just leaves us I guess,” Julie commented.
A small satisfactory smile played on your lips as you realized who was approaching. “No, I think someone’s got their eye on you.”
“Hey Julie!” Nick called out.
Julie’s eyes grew wide but she managed to keep a smile on her face. “Nick!”
You took that as your moment to leave but she grabbed a hold of your arm.
“Don’t leave me!” she hissed at you.
She clung to you desperately, but there was nothing you could do. “Sorry, but it’s groups of two,” you pointed out.
Julie sadly let you go before turning back to Nick. You quickly made your way to the front of the class since there weren’t any other people left. You politely tapped your dance teacher's shoulder.
“Um, Mrs. Kelly what do you want me to do?”
“Oh there’s still one person left I think.” She observed the room, but you saw no one standing alone. But that did not deter Mrs. Kelly. She cupped her hands around her mouth before loudly making an announcement.
“Who doesn’t have a partner?”
A single hand went up in the air and you watched as Luke Patterson came up from the back of the room. You felt a small pit drop in your stomach. Luke was definitely the hottest guy and school but he also had a habit of annoying the shit out of you. However, Mrs. Kelly didn’t seem to pick up on your annoyed attitude.
“Oh perfect, you and Lukas will be partners then,” she said brightly.
You held back an eye roll but you took your usual place by the gym doors, and Luke followed you.
As he took his spot behind you, you faced the front of the class so you wouldn’t have to look at him.
“She does know that I go by Luke now right?” he questioned once he was certain you were out of her hearing range.
“Probably not, it’s not like you’ve ever taken a dance class before,” you irritably pointed out.
“How do you know that?” he started to ask, but he was cut off.
“Alright girls let’s start it from the top!” Mrs. Kelly instructed.
As you gracefully moved through the number you had worked on last week, Luke copied your moves. You inwardly noted how quick of a learner he was, not that you would admit it; he definitely didn’t need the ego boost. You looked up to the mirror to see that he was watching you with an intensity you weren’t quite used to.
“You’re really good,” he quietly commented.
“Thanks,” you softly spoke. Before you could put meaning behind his words you spun into his chest, and your breath momentarily left your frame. You had known that his arms were muscular, but his chest was rock hard. You forced yourself not to think too much about it, and pushed away the mental images in your mind. You continued the dance as if nothing had happened, as you laid your hands across his. When you started swaying side to side, Luke broke the silence.
“So how do you know that I’ve never taken a dance class before?” he questioned, he seemed genuinely curious which was somehow more infuriating.
“Because we’ve been in the same grade for four years now Luke,” you huffed. He gently lifted your arms over your head before bringing them back down. You looked in the mirror to see that he was smirking.
“Are you sure you’re not spying on me?”
“The whole world doesn’t revolve around you Lukas,” you retorted.
“Maybe, but you might,” he winked at you through the mirror.
“In your dreams Patterson,” you scoffed.
You let go of his hands and he hopped outward with a twirl, but he didn’t land quite as gracefully as he had hoped. He managed to regain his balance at the last second, and caught himself with his hands.
You crossed your arms as you looked down at him. “Well it seems like there is something you aren’t good at,” you taunted.
“Are you implying that I’m good at everything else?” Luke sassed.
“Oh my god, Luke, why do you have to turn everything around?” you grumbled.
He dusted himself off and hopped up.
“Only because you’re making this too easy for me,” he snickered.
You couldn’t tell if it was his ego blocking your thoughts or if his sheer annoyance had made your mind go blank, but you couldn’t formulate a comeback, so you settled for a groan; which Luke laughed at.
Needless to say, you were thankful when dance class was over.
..........
“So, how was dancing with Luke?” Flynn sang.
“Terrible, I don’t understand how one person can be so cocky,” you complained, as you grabbed the books out of your locker.
Flynn confidently leaned up against the lockers. “Really, because he seemed quite interested in you.”
“Yeah me and along with every other girl in school,” you reminded her.
“Then how come he didn’t try to dance with anyone in our dance class, and hid in the back till he realized you didn’t have one?” You hadn’t considered that. But there was no way that he hid on purpose. But when you searched for a different explanation, the only one seemed to be the one you didn’t like. Flynn, however, looked quite happy with your conclusion.
Before you could stop yourself, you asked the question on your mind. “He was waiting?”
Flynn nodded. “Why else do you think one of the hottest guys in school didn’t have a partner?” she pointed out.
“I hate it when you’re right about these things,” you groaned, as you shut your locker.
She threw an arm around your back. “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”
As you walked into the parking lot, your eyes quickly searched around before locking eyes with Julie. Flynn waved goodbye to you before you made your way over to your car. But halfway through the parking lot, you were met by an obstacle.
“Hi y/n!” Reggie excitedly greeted you.
You couldn’t help but return the grin. “Hi Reggie.”
His demeanor quickly changed to a more nervous one as he spoke. “So since you’re already here, is there any chance you want a ride home in the jeep?” He pointed to the lifted black vehicle behind him.
You sighed, but even you couldn’t deny the twinkle in your eyes. “Did Luke put you up to this?”
“No, why would you say that?” Reggie scoffed, with a not very sarcastic tone of voice.
You grimaced at him with tight lips as you tilted your head sideways.
“Okay, yes, but please don’t tell Luke that I sold him out,” he begged.
You bit back a laugh but you agreed. “Your secret is safe with me, but can you do me a favor please?”
“Yeah, sure!” he happily agreed.
You grinned wickedly. “Tell starboy to wear some pads for tomorrow.”
“Huh?” His mouth was still slightly agape in confusion.
“Trust me, he’ll get it!” you called out as you made your way to your car.
..........
You were so early to dance class, that Mrs. Kelly hadn’t arrived yet. But your dance partner was only a minute behind you. As he entered the dance room the next day he had a rather unimpressed look on his face. “Starboy, really?” he asked, as he dropped his backpack on the floor.
You shrugged, “It seemed appropriate.” The look on his face was one of utter betrayal.
“Really, because I’m not not getting out of that nickname with my friends for at least a week.”
You bit your lip to pretend like you were thinking before shrugging again. “Eh, seems like your problem not mine,” you said casually.
Luke’s cocky smile returned. “Mhmm, not exactly.” He took a step towards you and you raised your head so you could make eye contact.
You took a step forward and you swore he could hear your heartbeat. You tilted your head at him. “And how exactly is that?” you whispered out.
His grin grew to his ears as he spoke. “Well, you gave me a nickname and you didn’t seem upset about the fact of riding with my friends, so now they think you like me.”
If he couldn’t feel your heart beating before, he definitely could now. You couldn’t even begin to fully process what he had just said. “What?” you spluttered out in shock.
“They think that you-” he poked your shoulder for emphasis, “like me,” he pointed back to himself.
Your brain was running at a million miles per minute. “Why would they even? No I do not! What kind of logic is that? That doesn’t even make any sense! What?” you rambled on.
After a few more seconds of absorbing your confusion Luke burst out laughing.
“Oh you should’ve seen your face,” he cackled.
“What?” you puzzled.
Luke managed to stumble through a sentence without laughing. “My friends don’t think you like me, I just wanted to see what your reaction would be.”
A part of you was relieved that your partial feelings for him hadn’t been revealed. But the other part of you wanted to punch him in the face. A puff of breath came out of your nose. “Real mature dickhead, real mature.”
Once Luke managed to pick himself up off the ground from laughing so hard he noticed that you were still turned away from him.
You thought you could hear a little bit of genuine concern in his voice, but you had to of imagined it. “Wait did I upset you?”
“What do you think Lukas?” you dryly responded.
Luke scratched the back of his neck. “Okay, so I definitely took that too far,” he paused to look up at you but you were still glaring daggers at him. “I’m sorry, y/n,” he apologized as he sweetly looked at you with glossy puppy eyes. But you weren’t going to settle for his cuteness.
“Your puppy eyes would work if you had stepped on my foot, or messed me up on the routine. But they’re sure as hell not going to work now,” you hissed.
It looked to you like Luke was shrinking from how much he was curling in on himself. You continued pretending like he wasn’t there but you glanced over when he started talking. “Y/n I’m really sorry, is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”
That certainly gave you something to think about. If Luke Patterson, the boy who hardly listened to anyone, was willing to let you pick his apology then he had to be feeling bad about what he had done. But actions are louder than words, so you knew you would have to come up with something to make him prove it. But suddenly, you thought of something.
“Tell me three really embarrassing things about yourself, and I’ll call it even, since you were trying to get a reaction out of me,” you proposed.
“Okay, that seems fair,” Luke agreed. You waited as he tried to remember three things.
“Oh I got one!” he chirped. “One time when I was ten I accidentally sent one of my teachers a song that I was working on, instead of my math homework, and then she made me read it in front of the class because she thought I was playing a prank on her.”
You were more focused on how mean his teacher was than his embarrassment. “Well that wasn’t very nice of her.”
“I know, Alex gave her the nickname song sucker for the rest of the year,” Luke fondly remembered.
He suddenly had another light bulb go off in his head. “Oh, and one time I farted in front of my third grade crush.”
As much as his stories were generally considered embarrassing, he was hard to embarrass and that these things didn’t even seem to bother him now, so you would have to make it a little bit harder for him.
“Luke, come on,” you groaned.
“What?” he asked innocently.
“What’s something that’s really embarrassing, like you’ve never even told anyone?” you asked.
“These things are embarrassing,” he pointed out.
You tilted your head. “Do they currently embarrass you?”
“No,” he admitted.
“See, what’s something bad enough that you’ve never even told anyone?” you questioned. Luke bit his bottom lip in concentration, and soon enough he thought of something.
“Okay, I’ll tell you, but you have to promise not to tell anyone,” he instructed.
“Your secret is safe with me Luke,” you promised.
“When I went to audition for this school, which you know, we had to do a music audition. I chose to sing and play my acoustic guitar. I went up on the stage, and everything was going fine until one of my guitar strings just snapped in half.”
Your hand covered your mouth in shock. “You’re kidding.”
Luke grinned. “It gets even better.”
You eagerly gestured for him to continue.
“So I keep playing and of course it sounds terrible. But then I’m holding out the last couple notes and I’m just waiting for it to be over, and then I’m finally done, and guess what happens.”
“What?” you asked eagerly.
Luke’s face flushed slightly as he recounted the worst part. “I tripped down the steps, and allllll my friends were in the front row watching me.”
You burst out laughing, “I’m so sorry.”
Luke’s jaw dropped in betrayal, but it was clear that he found it as funny as you did. “I just told you my most embarrassing story in my entire life, and you are laughing at me?”
“I’m sorry, but it’s too funny,” you giggled.
“Does, that mean I’m forgiven?” he asked hopefully.
Once you managed to stop laughing you nodded your head. “You’re forgiven,” you agreed.
Luke pumped his fist to the side in triumph. Once his excitement had settled he turned to you with a determined face.
“I have a deal for you,” he proposed.
“Sure, what is it?” you asked. Somehow hearing his most embarrassing story made you not mind being around him as much.
“We should just work together, and be friends. It’s only going to make this class worse if we’re at each other’s throats, so I’m proposing a deal, I’ll try to be less of a pain in your ass, and you tolerate teaching me,” he explained.
“Are you sure you’re capable of doing that?” you quipped.
He huffed but a smile still remained on his face. “Do we have a deal or not?” He extended his hand to yours and you took it.
“You’ve got a deal starboy,” you agreed.
Shortly after your deal was made the room started filling up with kids again. You made your way through stretching and warm up which mostly just consisted of the two of you goofing off. You had to admit, now that you were starting to be on good terms, he wasn’t as annoying as you had originally thought. As you started to dance, the two of you fell into a silent rhythm until Luke thought of something.
“So why did you choose back here?” he asked as he spun you.
The oddness of his question caused you to stop dancing. “What?”
He pointed to where you were standing. “Like back here, in the very back of the room, why?”
“Why do you care?” you wondered. You didn’t mean it in a mean way; it just seemed like a very weird, and specific question to ask.
Luke held a small smile on his face. “I’m curious so now I have to know,” he insisted.
“Well I can see both my friends from here without moving where I am standing,” you explained, and you pointed to the right side of the front of the room.
Luke still looked a bit puzzled. “Why do you need to watch them?”
“I’ll tell you, but you have to promise you won’t tell a soul,” you carefully warned.
Luke sincerely looked into your eyes. “I pinky promise.”
You deemed that as good enough.
“Well I need to watch Julie to spy on her and Nick, and I need to watch Flynn to make sure she’s not spying on me.” Your eyes widened as you realized that the last bit had slipped out of your mouth. You of course couldn’t tell him the reason was that you didn’t want Flynn to think you liked him, but now all you could do was hope he hadn’t noticed.
Luke appeared to not be analyzing your sentence, and for a second you thought he hadn’t noticed. But that second was short lived. “Wait, why would Flynn be spying on you?”
Your eyes went wide and you gritted your teeth for the eventual bad excuse that would come out of your mouth. You didn’t know why but you felt like if you said that Flynn thought you should get together, you would be revealing something.
But before you could utter a bad lie you were saved by Mrs. Kelly.
“Some of us need to focus more on our dance then our partners,” she announced to the class, but you knew it was meant for you and Luke. You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment and Luke kept his eyes on the floor. But to the both of your horrors, she was walking over towards the two of you.
“Sorry, we’ll get back to work Mrs. Kelly,” you quickly apologized. Luke nodded in agreement.
“You two come to the front of the class,” she politely urged.
You turned behind you to exchange a nervous glance with Luke who shrugged at you, but you could see the slightly apologetic look in his eyes.
You followed Mrs. Kelly to the front of the classroom. She gestured for you and Luke to stand in certain positions. As you moved to your spot you made eye contact with Julie who shot you a confused look. “I don’t know either,” you mouthed to her.
“Alright class,” Mrs. Kelly clapped. The attention of the room turned to you, Luke, and Mrs. Kelly.
“Today I wanted to show all of you something. Y/n has been in my class for four years now, and even though this is Lukas’s first class with me I’ve decided to challenge them.”
Luke and you both looked slightly fearful, though he arguably looked a bit more scared than you.
“Now the rest of you are going to continue with the regular routine, but I will be adding a lift into y/n’s and Lukas’s routine.”
You stood still for a couple seconds as you processed what she had just said. You knew you were capable of doing a lift, but to do one with Luke would certainly be interesting. You weren’t certain if it was a good thing or not.
“Alright, that’ll be it for class today,” she announced, interrupting your spiral of thoughts.
The rest of the class started to grab their things and she turned to face the two of you.
“And I will be instructing the two of you on the lift tomorrow,” she told you, and without further explanation, she left the room.
“I’m beginning to think maybe we worked together a little too much today,” you commented quietly enough that only Luke could hear you.
“Oh come on, you can’t seriously think that,” Luke said, surprisingly cheerfully.
You figured he could probably hear the nerves in your voice, but you weren’t certain what his tone meant. “Just saying.”
“We got this, trust me,” he assured you as he glanced your way.
“If you say so,” you agreed hesitantly.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.” He waved as he exited the room, and you waved back before packing up your stuff and heading out.
..........
“You ready partner?” Luke asked enthusiastically as he took his place by your side.
“Depends whether you’re ready,” you retorted. If you weren’t confident that this was going to go well you figured you might as well act like it.
“Trust me, I was born ready,” Luke smirked. It was starting to grow on you a little bit, but you couldn’t resist the temptation of annoying him back.
“Yeah right, says the one who fell on the floor the other day,” you teased.
His tongue briefly grazed the front of his top teeth. “You might wanna watch it, I’m the one holding you up in the air,” he prodded.
You felt your nerves start to kick in again. “Don’t you fuckin dare,” you warned.
Luke backed up in surrender. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding, I’m not going to drop you.”
“You better not,” you agreed.
“Why, do you not trust me?” he playfully scoffed.
You returned his cocky manner. “Of course not.”
Luke’s jaw dropped, but you knew he expected your answer. “Wow, maybe I will-” You glared at him and he stopped mid sentence.
“I’m not going to drop you, I swear.”
For once in his life he actually looked serious and in that moment you actually believed him. Your attention was then called to the front of the class as Mrs. Kelly clapped her hands.
“Alright, so today I want all of you to focus on the second part of the routine, and I want you to really work on moving on the right counts, it should be like you can hear me counting in your heads at this point. If anyone needs me, ask Coach Barron, or I’ll be over with Lukas and Y/n.”
As the rest of the class started working, she headed in your direction.
“Are you two ready for this?” she asked sweetly.
“Yes,” responded Luke.
“Maybe,” you responded.
Mrs. Kelly looked like she was trying to fight back a laugh. “Well don’t worry, I think you’re in good hands here y/n. I wouldn’t have had him do this if I thought he was going to drop you,” she assured you. You nodded your head as you took a deep breath. You knew she was right, but that didn’t stop you from being nervous.
She quickly showed you the position that you needed to stay in for Luke to be able to keep a hold of you. Most of your part was balancing, and being graceful. Two things that you could do fairly well. Then she moved onto Luke, who had to grab a hold of you and stand up.
“So you’re going to twirl into him, then he’s going to hug around your upper thighs, then he’s going to stand up, and twirl you around,” she said as she loosely demonstrated the moves.
“You think you guys can make it that far?”
Luke glanced towards you, and you nodded. “Yeah,” he responded.
“Great, remember it doesn’t have to be pretty the first time. I just want to see what it looks like.”
You took a deep breath of air and you moved to your starting spot, as Luke lunged to the ground. “You got this,” he mouthed. You gave him a thumbs up in acknowledgement. You took his hand, and lightly spun into him. He caught your waist in his chest and his hands tightly locked around your legs just below your butt. Luke quickly stood up with you without loosening his grip. The air swooshed around you as you momentarily soared through the air. You kept your hands planted on his shoulders to keep your balance.
“Alright, very good, now try to spin her around, and y/n let go of his shoulders,” she instructed.
You slowly moved your hands off of him and into the air gracefully. You took your time so you didn’t throw Luke off balance with any sudden moves.
“You ready?” he asked hesitantly.
You nodded slightly and held your breath. Luke quickly turned on his heals as he gracefully spun you around. You let your breath go after the first circle. It wasn’t as scary as you thought it was, and Luke was not even relatively close to dropping you. As he continued spinning you openly smiled and let yourself relax as your hands extended to the side and you leaned back a little. Despite that the room was filled with students and that Mrs. Kelly was beside the two of you, it felt like you and Luke alone existed in that moment. All that mattered was that the two of you were connected, and that you couldn’t stop grinning if you tried. But your high had to reach an end eventually.
“You can go ahead and put her down,” Mrs. Kelly instructed Luke.
Luke eventually slowed to a stop, but then came to a standstill.
Luke didn’t take his eyes off of you as he spoke out of fear of dropping you. “How do you want me to put her down?”
“Oh, release your grip a bit and slowly let her glide down, so let go of your own hands and just hold onto her legs individually. And as she is gliding down your hands are going to glide up your sides,” she explained.
Luke raised an eyebrow in your direction. You watched him for a moment, confused as to what he was asking but it dawned upon you that he was asking if you were okay with that. You nodded once at him to answer. He cautiously let his hands slide across the back of your thighs and up to your hips. You did your best to keep a straight face and not squirm as his hands glided on your sides.
“That was amazing, you two!” Mrs. Kelly exclaimed once you were safely planted back on the ground.
“Thanks,” you said sincerely.
“Yeah, thank you,” Luke agreed.
“Okay, I want you two to go through that a couple more times before class ends, and then add it into the routine tomorrow. If you need me I’ll be up at the front, or helping someone,” she told you.
You playfully bumped into Luke after she had left. “That was pretty good, especially for your first go,” you admitted.
Luke fidgeted with the chain on his jeans. “Thanks, I think you looked pretty graceful yourself.” He bumped you back.
“Well then, you ready to do it again?” you asked as you took his hand.
Luke’s lips quirked up. “Always.”
..........
You were thankful when lunch arrived especially from the appetite you had worked up from dance class. Or course you went to your usual table with Flynn and Julie, but from the look on Flynn’s face you were certain that something had happened.
“Okay, so spill, and you better not leave out anything,” she warned.
You took your seat opposite of Julie and Flynn. “I literally just got here, what are you even talking about?”
“What do you mean what am I talking about? Hello, you and Luke? Enemies to lovers? The eye contact, the closeness, all of the above?” she rambled.
“Don’t be ridiculous, we are not lovers,” you scoffed. You avoided Flynn’s eye contact as you spoke.
“Says the one who couldn’t stop grinning the entire class,” Julie whispered under her breath, but it was loud enough for you to hear it.
“Ooooh she went there,” Flynn beamed. She raised her hand to fist bump Julie, who slyly went to return it before you abruptly stopped them.
“Hey! No! No fist bumping,” you said, and the girls both turned to you midair, “there is nothing to fist bump about because I don’t like him,” you protested.
“Y/n if you think how I act around Nick is bad, you should see yourself,” Julie teased.
You just blinked at her in disbelief. You had seen how Julie acted around Nick a couple times, and you knew there was no way you acted like that.
“I do not!” you defended yourself, though it came out as more of a whine.
“Oh, you so do, and that just proves it,” Flynn stated as she crossed her arms.
“As my brother would say, Y/n and Luke sitting in a tree-” Julie started singing, and, to your horror, Flynn joined along.
“K-I-S-S-I-N-G,” they sang. Before they could get any further, you loudly shushed them.
“Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, if I admit that I like him will you two stop it?” you pleaded, as you nervously glanced around the cafeteria that someone was listening to them.
“Maybe?” Julie smirked.
“I’m starting to like Luke,” you quietly admitted.
“Oh I so saw this coming,” Flynn bragged.
“So did I,” Julie agreed. They finally finished their fist bump and you didn’t bother stopping them this time.
You nervously pulled at your hair. “So what do I do about it?”
Flynn clasped her hands in a very formal manner. “I hate to be the one to break it to you, but there’s not much you can do about it. That’s kinda how crushes work.”
You shrugged. “If I try hard enough maybe I can get rid of it though, or at least ignore it.”
“That’s a fucking terrible plan,” Flynn said bluntly.
“It’s better than making a fool out of myself in front of him,” you suggested weakly.
Julie briefly reached out to touch your hand. “Y/n if I can talk to Nick after what I said to him last weekend then, I think you can do this,” she assured you.
Flynn took a swig of her water. “Besides, I can guarantee you, your liking is not one sided,” she added. A large part of you wanted to believe her, but you were also confuzed how she was so certain.
“Why do you think he likes me?” you questioned.
Flynn’s eyes pointed past your shoulder. “Because, don’t look now but, he keeps looking over at you every couple of seconds.”
You gulped rather loudly, but you stayed facing forward. “He’s been sitting there for how long, and you guys didn’t tell me?” you whispered.
Julie raised an eyebrow. “Would you of wanted us to tell you?”
“Good point,” you agreed.
“So, do you believe us now?” Flynn asked.
“Maybe, but I’m going to have to hear it from him to believe it eventually,” you conceded.
Julie had a satisfactory grin on her face. “Well then it looks like you have some stuff to talk about after Friday,” she suggested.
“Lots of stuff,” Flynn agreed.
..........
As you walked into the classroom on Thursday morning you felt your nerves starting to creep back in. You weren’t certain if the nerves were about dancing or Luke, but you did your best to brush them away.
Julie was of course the first to notice this, and stopped you before you could walk past her to your spot. “Hey, you got this,” she assured you with a quick smile. You did your best to return her expression, but it was evident to her that you were faking it.
“Look at me,” she squeezed your arm lightly, “you’ve been working up to more complex dances for years. And as for Luke, if he doesn’t realize how amazing, beautiful, and talented you are, then he’s not worth your time.”
“Men generally aren’t,” Flynn commented. You stifled a laugh, and Julie tried not to smile. She tried to send a glare in Flynn’s direction but the corners of her lips betrayed her. Flynn grinned back at her but went back to changing her shoes.
Julie huffed and fondly rolled her eyes, “My point is, if he doesn’t see it, then he’s not good enough for you anyways. Now, come on go show everybody up.” She lightly pushed you in the direction of your corner.
You quickly thanked Julie as you headed over. Luke was already in your corner and surprisingly; he looked slightly nervous himself. “You ready for this?” he asked.
A sudden surge of confidence hit you from Julie’s words. “I was born ready,” you bragged.
Luke looked shocked for a moment but it morphed into a grin. “Finally, I thought you were never going to get there,” he scoffed.
“Whatever, starboy.”
Luke’s hazel eyes shimmered brightly. “Does that make you stargirl?” he questioned.
“You know because we’re dancer partners,” he quickly added.
You shrugged, “I guess it would.” You said it casually but inwardly you were anything but that. You were certain he didn’t mean anything by the nickname but you couldn’t keep from playing it over in your head.
Mrs. Kelly quickly started the class and ran through stretches so that everyone could get to practicing the dance for tomorrow. Luke and you decided to run through the full dance as many times as possible so you didn’t forget any of the parts the next day. You ran through the first part of the dance with minimal missteps. You quickly spun into him just as you had done the day before and carefully balanced yourself as you went up into the air. As the spin finished you nearly squirmed out of his arms as he went to set you down. You held your breath as you realized you were going to hit the ground. But he managed to slow your fall by having an arm around your stomach.
“What did I do that that just happened?” he chuckled. He offered you his hand up which you gratefully took. You knew that your face was on fire, not to mention the rest of your body. You popped your knuckles as you combed through your mind for an excuse. “Um, I just must’ve lost my balance a bit, can we try it again though?” you suggested.
He gave you a curious look but agreed.
You spun into him, and once again you did the lift and the spin almost perfectly. But as you were slowly released to the ground, you felt like his hands were digging into your sides further than last time. Luckily, Luke was prepared and managed to catch you before you even touched the ground.
Luke cocked his head to the side as the pieces started to come into place. “Are you ticklish?” he asked.
“No, why would you say that?” you said as you took a step back.
“Oh, you so are!” Luke happily exclaimed.
He went to poke your right side and you shifted to the left. He alternated and you went the opposite way. “I’m going to get you eventually,” he teased. You were narrowly missing his hands, but you could already feel your laughter building. Luke’s smile grew wider, and as you accidentally paused to take it in, he reached out to tweak your side and you let out a quiet giggle. “God, your laugh is cute,” he uttered under his breath. You heard him clearly, but you were a little preoccupied to comment on it, and while you were having fun, you knew that you were probably going to get into trouble. You quickly tried to think of a solution, and in your weakened state you said the first thing you thought of. “I will get you kicked out of this class,” you threatened. You weren’t certain why you had chosen to say that, but you couldn’t take it back now.
Luke cocked his head, “You’re going to get me kicked out?” he repeated.
You inwardly cringed. “That is what I said,” you admitted.
He looked slightly worried, “Is that possible?”
You crossed your arms, and you tried to keep from smiling which would give you away. “Do you really want to find out?”
“No,” he said as if he was asking a question.
“Exactly,” you smirked.
Luke crossed his arms and huffed. “Fine, I’ll try to not tickle you this time.” You could tell it was killing him that you had bested him, but he didn’t try it again.
You ran through the lift again and this time you were able to do it without squirming. Then you ran through the entire routine again, without stopping.
“How would you say that one was?” Luke asked.
“I would say we got this in the bag,” you said confidently.
He raised his hand and gave you a high five. “I hope so, otherwise Coach Barron’s going to be on our asses for the next month,” he ruefully admitted.
“We got this Luke, we’ve put in the work to be able to. Besides, we work well together,” you assured him.
Luke broke into a smile and you swore you saw him flush red for a second. “I think we do too.”
The two of you stood in an awkward silence for a couple seconds before the bell rang. Luke grabbed your stuff and handed it to you, and then grabbed his.
He cleared his throat.  “So what do you say if we get an A I’ll take you to get ice cream tomorrow? As a thank you for teaching me.” His eyes drifted towards yours but when you looked towards him, he quickly looked away.
“I would like that,” you happily agreed.
“Great! I’ll see you tomorrow stargirl.” Then he took off to catch up with his friends in the hallway. You couldn’t help yourself from grinning like a lovesick puppy, and when you looked up he was looking at you and waved. You chuckled and waved back at him. Maybe you did have a shot at him.
..........
“You ready Ladies?” you asked, as Flynn, Julie, and you walked into the studio.
“I’ve been ready,” Flynn scoffed as she tossed her hair.
You shook your head at your friend’s antics. “What about you Julie?”
“Nick’s pretty nervous, but I think we’re going to do just fine. He’s got some rhythm, and he’s really been trying,” Julie divulged.
“You guys are gonna do amazing, I mean no one can compete with your chemistry.” You playfully nudged her shoulder, and she nudged you right back.
“Except you and Luke.” Julie winked at you, and you pursed your lips.
“Hey, this isn’t about me. I was talking about you and Nick.”
Flynn decided that it was her moment to pop in. “Yeah, and now we’re talking about you and Luke.”
“How are you guys the best but also simultaneously the best but the worst?” you groaned.
“It’s kinda our thing,” Flynn said, as she wrapped an arm around you.
“Oh that reminds me, if we get an A, Luke is taking me out to get ice cream,” you suddenly blurted out. Your friends' faces were priceless.
“Like a date?” Julie estaticaly asked, but Flynn cut her off.
“Well get over there with your partner, I’m not letting this dance come in the way of my otp!” Flynn was practically pushing you over towards your spot.
“Okay, okay, I’m going!” you laughed.
As you turned around you saw Luke who wore a black button up and black jeans. You did your best to not start drooling right then. The shirt was tight enough on him that it left little to the imagination. The black complimented him incredibly well, and he looked just as good without the beanie as he did with it on. Despite the heart eyes going off in your mind, you kept your cool when you walked over to him.
Luke looked highly amused. “What was that about?” You panicked for a second that he had noticed your freakout, but then you realized he was just talking about your friends.
You licked your lips before responding. “Let’s just say Flynn really wants us to do well together.”
“Luckily for her, that’s exactly what we’re going to do.” He winked at you, and you did your best to maintain your composure.
“You got it starboy.”
“Okay, so I hope all of you are prepared for today. I want everybody to take a deep breath,” Mrs. Kelly instructed.  You glanced over towards Julie and Flynn, they both were starting to look nervous, but you were certain you held the same expression on your face. “Now, I want everybody to shake it out, and then get into position. And good luck!” she called out.
“You got this,” Luke whispered from behind you. You nodded, and inhaled a shaky breath. “You too,” you mouthed. The music started up and you let the week of muscle memory take over. The two of you moved in perfect unison and you soon found yourself smiling instead of nervous. It was only when you got to the lift that you tensed up again. You twirled into Luke, who gracefully caught you before pushing you into the air. As you spun around you extended your arms as Luke carefully held onto you. And as he lightly let you down you stayed perfectly still until your feet touched the floor. You inwardly cheered that you had done it successfully, but you had to continue moving into the second part. It seemed to fly by and a minute later your arms were latched together as the song closed on a fade. The room stood completely still for a couple seconds until various students cheered.
“Yes, we did it!” Luke yelled. You cheered along with him and the rest of the class. Luke gave you a celebratory double high fived, as you celebrated. But your hands never separated. Instead his hands clasped around yours.
“Is that okay?” he asked quietly.
The adrenaline still pumping through your body was making you a bit more bold than usual. You also held his hands as your arms fell to your sides. “Yes, it definitely is.”
“Alright, everyone listen up,” Mrs. Kelly called out. Luke and you faced the front, but kept one of your hands interlocked. Mrs. Kelly continued, “Okay, we’re going to walk around and give you your grades starting from the front to the back.”
You turned your head towards him. “That makes us last,” you realized with a grimace.
His hazel eyes fixed on yours with sincerity. “We’ll be fine, promise.” He gently stroked his thumb across the back of your hand which calmed you down a bit.
Your friends both cheered when they got their scores. Flynn got a B because her partner tripped, but she was plenty happy with it. Julie got an A, and accidentally hugged Nick in excitement. She looked mortified but Nick looked the happiest you had ever seen him. But finally, it was you and Luke’s turn.
You exchanged a nervous look and hand squeeze before Mrs. Kelly approached you. “So I know that I gave you and Luke a more difficult routine, and I must say you handled it with grace, and it turned out wonderfully. So for your chemistry, and for your talent. You two get an A!” she cheered.
You swore you could’ve jumped up and down with joy. “Hell yes!” you cheered. It soon occurred to you that you had accidentally said that outloud. Mrs. Kelly gave you a glare, but she was struggling to keep her composure.
“Sorry,” you grimaced.
“It’s alright, just don’t let Coach Barron hear you,” she laughed.
Luke started busted out laughing once she had walked away.
You lightly swatted his shoulder. “Are you laughing at my misery right now?”
He barely managed to stop laughing to answer you, and he was still grinning from ear to ear. “Yes, that was priceless, and you know it was funny too.”
You rolled your eyes, but your smile gave you away. “Alright, maybe you’ve got a point,” you admitted. “But we did it!”
“I guess that means I owe you an ice cream,” Luke reminded you.
Your eyes lit up. “Oh right, let’s go!”
Luke raised an eyebrow. “You do know we have school after this right?”
The high from dancing hadn’t wound down yet, and you were not in the mood to be in school. “Yes, and?”
Luke smirked. “You sure you want to skip?”
Before you could answer, a hand was around your other wrist. “Nope, she’ll see you after school Luke!” Julie called out as she dragged you out of the room.
Luke mouthed see you later, and you gave him a thumbs up as you were being pulled away.
..........
You felt someone taser your sides, and you yelped. “Luke!”
He shrugged. “Sorry, just couldn’t resist,” he teased. You pointed your index finger at him.
“Bullshit, you’re not sorry, but I’ll let it slide since you’re getting me ice cream.”
“You got your stuff?” he asked.
You shut your locker. “Yep, let’s go.”
As your eyes adjusted to the outside sun Luke looked around for your car. “Did you bring your car to school?”
You smiled proudly. “Nope, I knew we’d get an A, so I asked Julie’s dad to drive her today.”
Luke was shocked. “Are you serious?” You nodded.
“Wow, you really believed in us,” Luke said in amazement.
“Thanks, I think,” you laughed.
“Come on, the guys are waiting for us in the jeep,” he said, grabbing your hand and leading you over.
You went to take the back seat with Alex, but Reggie quickly overided you. “Nope, you’re sitting in the front with Luke,” he insisted.
“It’s okay, I’ll sit in the back Reggie, it’s cool,” you assured him.
“You’ll never hear me say this again, but I’m with Reggie, you’re sitting in the front,” Alex argued.
You made eye contact with Luke who just grinned instead of helping you.
“Fine, you guys win, I’ll go in the front.”
Once the seating arrangement was changed the ride was fairly peaceful. As it turned out, both Alex and Reggie were incredibly nice. Not that you had expected any different, they had always seemed kind in school, but you had never really spoken to them much.
“Okay Reggie, don’t crash my jeep, and Alex make sure Reggie doesn’t crash my jeep,” Luke instructed as he handed over the keys.
“You got it,” Reggie said with a salute, and Alex gave him a reassuring smile.
“Your friends are really nice,” you spoke as they pulled out.
“Yeah, I lucked out with them,” Luke said fondly.
“Now, come on, I’m practically dying of hunger.” You pulled him by his hand into the shop. You ordered three scoops of your favorite flavor and Luke got a birthday cake shake.
He opened the door for you as you walked outside to find a table. “Thanks for getting me ice cream Luke,” you said as you sat down.
“Anytime stargirl.” His eyes especially shimmered in the sunlight.
“Do you know your eyes are really pretty?” you commented.
“Do you know that I think you’re really pretty?” You found that you could no longer look into his eyes.
Luke took a hold of one of your hands. “Y/n?”
You looked from your hands to his face. “Yes?”
Luke’s face softened. “Thank you for teaching me.”
“You don’t need to thank me Luke. You taught me things too,” you pointed out.
Your comment puzzled Luke. “Like what?”
“Like you think somebody is super annoying, and then when you get to know them, they are actually quite sweet.”
Luke soaked up your words for a moment before narrowing his eyes. “Did you just call me super annoying?”
You threw your hands up in frustration. “That’s the part that you’re focusing on!” you laughed.
“I was not super annoying!” he defended himself.
You pointed towards yourself, “I beg to differ.” You held a Luke sized smirk on your face, which unfortunately, he returned.
“Fine, how’s this for annoying?” he taunted.
“Wha-Luke!” You screeched as he dug into your side. His hand still held onto one of yours, and your other hand was uselessly batting as his.
It was clear that he was enjoying himself. “Am I annoying now?” he teased.
“Yehehehes!” you giggled defiantly.
“Good.” He smirked and moved his hand into your armpit. You bit back a scream as his hand scratched at your hollows.
“Okhahay! You’re not annoying!” you screamed.
“That’s what I thought.”
“You are lucky I like you,” you huffed. It took you a couple of seconds to realize what you had said, but once you did you immediately started to panic.
Luke lifted your chin up to look at him. “Y/n?”
“Yes?” You were a ball of nerves.
“I like you too,” he admitted.
“Oh thank god.” You breathed a sigh of relief.
Luke looked puzzled but simultaneously amused. “Why else do you think I would’ve brought you on a date?”
Your eyes widened as everything started adding up in your mind. “This is a date?” you exclaimed.
“Y/n are you serious?” Luke laughed.
“Yes!”
“Yes, it’s a date. But if it makes you feel any better, I’ll ask.” Luke got down on one knee and took both of your hands in his.
“Y/n will you be my girlfriend?” he asked sweetly.
Your eyes glittered with joy. “Of course starboy.”

prompt 13: "don't laugh while i'm trying to talk to you!"
warning: this is a sfw tickle fic! don't read if that makes you uncomfortable :]
Alex tapped a drumstick lightly on the cymbal of his drumstick, bored out of his mind. Luke was following Julie to school to “ask her something important,” and Reggie wanted to eavesdrop. Alex, on the other hand, wanted to respect their privacy. That, and he honestly didn’t have much interest. So, instead, he told himself he’d just stay in the garage and practice… but he didn’t want to. Practicing without the whole band there just felt… off.
He had tried to play a few songs, but they felt incomplete without Reggie’s chill bass notes, Luke’s killer guitar riffs, and Julie’s angelic vocals. Alex fiddled with the drumsticks in his hands, unsure what to do. A four wheeled car couldn’t run when only one wheel was attached to it.
However, when your car needs another wheel, you can attach a spare tire if you had one. It wasn’t the exact same as the other tires on the vehicle, but it would still work in place. Little did he know, there was a spare tire lying around.
“Boo.”
Alex jumped in place when he felt two cold hands on his shoulders, a gasp coming out of his mouth as he felt his heart beat faster. He turned around in his seat, a half-groan coming out of his mouth. “Hello, Willie.”
Willie, who was smiling like a puppy that just got adopted from the shelter, giggled softly and rested his arms on Alex’s shoulders. “Hi, babe.” He said, planting a soft kiss on the other’s cheek before looking around. “The rest of the band is busy today, huh?”
“Yup, and I was bored out of my mind a few moments ago.” Alex stood up, holding Willie’s hand. “And now, you’re here, so I don’t have to worry about that.” He smiled softly, focusing his energy to poof them up to the loft balcony below. Once they teleported, Alex noticed a leather jacket on the floor, picking it up.
“Looks like Reggie forgot his jacket… again.” He sighed, picking it up and hanging it up on the coat hanger behind him.
“Is that common?” Willie asked, crossing his arms and sitting down in one of the bean bags on the loft.
“Yes, very common.” The drummer groaned. “Reggie always leaves his stuff around on the floor. Even before we died, he’d always do it back in the day. I always tell him to pick it up, and he passes it off, saying he’ll do it later, and he never does. Luke’s even worse, he leaves all of his stuff everywhere, and-“ Alex paused, taking a look at the smile on Willie’s face. “What? Why are you smiling?”
“No reason.” The skateboarder smirked, crossing his arms.
“No reason? There’s definitely a reason.”
“I’m telling you, there’s no reason! No reason at all.”
“Right. Yeah. Totally. Of course, there’s no rea- AH!” Alex yelled when he felt a pair or arms wrap around him and lift him off the ground slightly. He turned around when set down, only to be greeted with the laughing perpetrator. “Reggie!”
The bassist, who had seemingly teleported behind him while Alex was ranting, laughed and clutched his stomach. “Hehey, Alehex! I got you good, didn’t I!” He giggled as the other rolled his eyes. “Thanks for not ratting be out, Willie.”
“No problem.” Willie chuckled, happy to take part in a bit of mischief.
“Did you seriously come back just to scare me?” Alex asked, crossing his arms.
“Yep! And it was totally worth it.” Reggie giggled.
“Oh, wait.” As much as Alex wanted to stay mad at Reggie, he still cared for his friends. He headed to the coat hanger, picking up the jacket he had just put on there. “You forgot your-“
It was too late. Reggie had already poofed out and teleported elsewhere.
“…Jacket.” Alex finished, sighing and putting the jacket back on the coat hanger. He looked over to see Willie giggling softly, and couldn’t help but smile. He walked over and sat down on the beanbag next to his.
“You thought that was funny, huh?” He lightheartedly groaned at his boyfriend.
“Ihi’m sorry!” Willie said with a grin. “You know I’m always one for some mischief! And seeing the look on your face was definitely worth it.”
Alex could feel heat rising up in his cheeks, and he didn’t know if it was because he was embarrassed, or if it was because Willie was just so fucking cute. Willie was certain to notice, leaning his head back and laughing loudly.
“Willie-“
“Oh cohome on, it was fuhunny!”
“Willie, don’t laugh while I’m trying to talk to you!”
“Ihi’m sorry, Ihi’m sorry!” He giggled. “It’s just… you’re so cute when you get annoyed with me.”
If Alex thought he wasn’t blushing before, he was definitely blushing now. He looked away for a second, unsure why he felt this flustered and embarrassed. “W-Well, you’re cute too.” He stammered out, immediately covering his face with his hand.
“Awww, thanks hotdog.” Willie grinned.
Suddenly, Alex had an idea. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves, moving his beanbag closer to Willie. “Actually, you’re cuter than me. And I’ll prove it to you.”
“And how to you plan to do that?” An entertained Willie leaned towards his boyfriend.
“Well… since you seem to like to laugh so much…” Alex smirked, quickly pulling Willie towards him and wiggling fingers into his ribs. The other’s giggles immediately escalated, not even trying to hide themselves.
“WaHAhait- Ahahalehex!” Willie giggled, squirming around, but not necessarily trying to squirm out of his boyfriend’s grasp.
“What’s up, Willie? Why are you laughing so much? Can you tell me?” Alex teased, moving his fingers up to scribble around in the other’s underarms.
“Yohohou knohow whyhy!”
“Well, actually, no, I don’t because you’re not telling me.”
“Meheheahan!” Willie laughed softly.
“Mean? You think I’m being mean? I can’t believe you!” Alex faked a gasp and pulled Willie closer to him, moving his hands back down to dance around his ribs. He didn’t want to go extremely tough, but he did crank up the intensity a small bit, smiling as he heard Willie’s laughter rise a bit in volume. At the same time, he started to plant tickley kisses all over Willie’s neck and cheeks.
“AhaHAlehex!” He scrunched up his shoulders on instinct, laughing softly. The drummer eventually slowed down, letting Willie catch his breath.
“Yohohou’re suhuch a dohork.” Willie giggled softly.
“And you’re adorable.” Alex smiled, leaning down and giving his boyfriend a kiss on the forehead.
“So are you.”
“Well, I’m not the one who giggles like a child whenever he gets kissed.” Alex chuckled.
“Is that a challenge?” Willie raised an eyebrow, quickly pushing himself off of Alex’s lap.
“I-” Alex blushed once more, leaning back into the beanbag he was sitting in. “No, it’s noHOT-”
He was cut off by being pulled into Willie’s lap, wrapped into a hug, and small kisses being planted on his face.
His earlier statement was proven wrong instantly.

Doomsayers - Owen Joyner x Artist!Reader
Tumblr media
JATP masterlist
Warnings: Swearing, existential dread, pretty mild content overall.
Words: 1110
Summary: Owen had to practically harass you to get you to relax on your mutual day off, but the quality time together takes an unexpected turn when you exhibit a small sense of self-doubt.
A/N: I’m sorry I’ve sort of disappeared but I’ll offer an explanation in the footnote. Other than that, requests are still being filled right now. Let this self-indulgent piece hold you over in the meantime. I wanted to get something out and due to how the process went with finishing this one, I think I’m slowly easing back into a writing spell after such a long period of writer’s block.
“Y/N!” Owen yells, dragging out my name despite being a mere ten feet away.
“Oweennnnn,” I whine back in an insincerely mocking tone. My almost too loving boyfriend is lying in the unmade sheets of my bed, groaning at me from a supine position. I’m switching in between sitting and standing as I work on a new painting for a client. It’s a magical realist take on an Italian cobblestone street view, and I’ve spent so much time on the painting this week that I’m way ahead of schedule. Owen knows this and is consequently moaning at me from his spot where he’s nestled on my bed.
A lazy Saturday is exactly what we both needed, but when I decided I had a little time the morning before he showed up, I’d gotten so invested in my workflow that I didn’t even break to answer the door. This isn’t the first time Owen’s had to let himself into my place with the key I gave him for our one-year anniversary. Essentially: when I have a warm drink in one hand and a paintbrush in the other, there’s no telling when I’ll break next.
“We’re supposed to be relaxing. Why are you working on our lazy Saturday?”
“I’m not working.” I brush a loose strand of hair out of my face, careful not to dab a glob of yellow oil paint across my cheek.
“You are painting a commission. It’s literally work, babe.”
“Hush. I’ve got a good workflow going.”
“If you don’t put that brush down in the next 10 seconds… I’ll… I’ll break up with you!”
“No, you won’t.”
“No, I won’t,” he sighs defeatedly. “But I will start crying.”
“Owen-” I stand up straight after being hunched over the canvas for so long.
“Please?” When I look at my boyfriend he’s giving me the most pitiful pout in the world and I can’t help but smile. His pout morphs into a full grin when I set my paintbrush into a plastic cup of water and oil solution.
“I hate you, you know that?”
“I love you!”
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
“You think I’m cute?”
“Hush.”
I crawl up the length of my bed to join Owen who awaits my arrival with open arms. He’s resting on all my different pillows which are strewn about the bed via his nesting tendency. Once I’m laying down, Owen wraps both arms around my waist and rests his face on the nape of my neck. He presses a kiss to the bottom-most cervical vertebrae and inhales my scent delightedly.
“You enjoying yourself back there?”
“You smell good,” he mumbles shyly. Hugging his arms around me tighter, he traces soothing circles on my hip bone with his right index finger. His head comes to a static position as he’s finally comfortable, and slings his left leg over the side of my left thigh. I can’t help but laugh at the assumed position, and pull out my phone to entertain myself, knowing damn well that Owen will be asleep in a matter of minutes.
When I open instagram my face falters a little bit. The most recent post is from my coworker Kelly, and it’s a video of her 6 month old baby. In the video, her husband is holding the baby, making funny faces at her to get her to laugh. The sight is adorable and kind of saddening all at once. They seem like such a happy family and I’m sharply reminded by a thump in my chest of how Kelly got the promotion we were both up for last week. Her life seems magnificent, and mine feels like it hasn’t started yet. I know she’s three years older than me, but still. Three years isn’t that much. I still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing, or going to do.
“Owen?” I don’t trust my voice to lift over a whisper.
“Yeah?”
“Are you happy?”
“I am now that you’re finally relaxing with me-”
“No,” I cut off his pointed comment with a breathy laugh, “I mean with life in general.” Owen’s finger stops tracing circles, and there’s no more movement of him making small adjustments. The only proof I have of him being alive is the faint tickle of his breath across the exposed skin of my neck.
“I mean, not everything is fantastic per se, but I’m content with the balance of good and bad.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well… I still get in my own head with auditions a bit, but I have acting and a new pad and you,” Owen emphasizes his statement by hugging onto my waist a bit tighter. “Why? What’s up?”
“I don’t know. I just get consumed by the thought that--yes, everyone wants to be happy--but it just doesn’t happen for some people. Everyone has dreams and goals and aspirations, but how many people can actually say that they have their dream career or dream life?” I let out an involuntary sigh from subconsciously holding my breath. “What if I’m not one of the people who gets to be happy?”
“Woah… where is this coming from?” Owen holds onto me tighter at the lack of a response. He presses a lingering kiss to my back and doesn’t move away until he feels my shoulders physically relax in his grasp.
“You deserve to be happy. And you will be even if you aren’t right now. Even if the bad outweighs the good right now, you have me. I’m here for you… I love you, Y/n.”
“I know. I love you.”
“Besides, aren’t you a little young to be having so much existential dread?”
“Oh, that is so rich coming from you.”
“And just what the hell is that supposed to mean?” Owen scoffs in defense of his honor.
“You are the biggest doomsayer I have ever met.”
“It could be worse. I could be this existential and look like you.” It’s my turn to play up defensive with an exaggerated gasp.
“You can cuddle with yourself then while I-”
“No! I’m sorry, please don’t leave!” His hold on my body grows impossibly tighter as he pulls me into his broad chest. I give in and stop struggling against him. Owen peppers the bare skin of my neck in staccato kisses to restore my tranquility. It’s not long until the two of us settle into a comfortable silence, simply desiring to be enveloped in one another’s presence. The syncopation of our breathing is the only sign of life in the room, and I’m consumed by a moment's clarity: as long as I have Owen, the good will always outweigh the bad.

A/n: Okay so for you nosy fuckers who care to read this: the reason I kinda disappeared... is so fuckin dumb. Idk how I got here but atm I’m #obsessed with Mat Barzal. Yeah. The hockey player. I don’t want to become a hockey blog tho so I figured I’d just go through this on my own and then resurface once I’m back on my JATP headassery. Slowly but surely, I can get through it. I go through periods of time where I exclusively read fics and then exclusively write fics. This has been a time of reading recently as I’ve purged the majority of Barzal content on here.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Julie and The Phantoms (TV 2020) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Julie Molina/Luke Patterson Characters: Julie Molina, Luke Patterson (Julie and The Phantoms) Additional Tags: Canon Compliant, Fluff, Hijinks & Shenanigans, They can summon each other because they're part of each other's souls and it is AWKWARD, recycling a pun from my first jatp fic, Julie Molina is himbosexual and she doesn't try to fight it, Luke is trying to be smooth and I can't decide if he succeeds Summary:
Julie is just trying (pretending) to pay attention in class, only to suddenly find herself on Luke's lap. At home. Which begs the very important question: Did he miss her?
“Of course I have no idea, you’re the one who just popped up on my lap!” Luke protests, his fingertips slightly digging into her skin as if to tickle her, “I was just sitting here, working on –“ he pauses. His gaze flickers to his right, and his open notebook. He slams it shut and denies her eyes to meet his again. “Nothing. I was working on nothing.” He never ever hid anything he was working on before. Yet she files that away for later – maybe he’s saving it for their songwriting session tonight. Her heart flutters in a treacherous hope. Focus, Molina. “Okay, but as far as I know, I don’t have any weird ghost powers that I can teleport with. But you do.”

BOGGIE 26 BOGGIE 26
BOGGIE I loved writing this and totally did it while hiding at work Bc it was too cute not too!! Prompt fic under the cut!
Reggie had been laughing for 6 minutes and 24 seconds. Yes, Bobby was counting.
He’s just thankful that Luke and Alex weren’t there yet. Bobby didn’t think he could take three of them giggling over his hair.
“It’s not bad, right?” Bobby asked, anxiously as he ran his hand through his newly-shorn locks. His grandma had helped him do it, they couldn’t really afford a trip to the barber, and it was a little shorter than he wanted, but he thought it was fine. She had gotten is close enough to the picture of Leonardo DiCaprio that he could tell the similarities.
Sort of, anyway.
Reggie could barely answer through his breathless giggles. “You look like you’re in a boy band!”
Bobby frowned and ran both of his hands through his hair again, messing it up and trying to redeem it, but Reggie just kept laughing.
“We technically are a boy band, though,” Bobby mumbled.
Apparently not quiet enough as Reggie immediately stopped laughing and gasped, quickly crossing the length of the garage with his gangly legs. Bobby tried to back up, but the bassist grabbed him by the neck of his shirt and got so close that Bobby could see all of the colors in his eyes.
“You take that back Robert!” He said. “We’re not a boy band! And don’t let Luke hear you say that, either.”
Bobby scoffed and blew air in Reggie’s face, trying to hold back his grin as the other man scrunched his nose. “We’re boys and we’re in a band, Reginald,” he replied. “A la, a boy band.”
“I’ll show you boy band,” Reggie said, under his breath, as his hands moved from Bobby’s collar to his sides where he started to tickle him.
Bobby being ticklish was something that only a select few knew. He hated being tickled more than anything in the world. The loss of control was awful and he hated his smile and his laugh and, the guaranteed way to make him both smile and laugh was to tickle him.
And Reggie knew that and took advantage.
“Reg, stop!” Bobby squealed (ugh, squealed) through the tickles. “Please!”
“Say we’re not a boy band!” Reggie taunted, his fingers moving quicker along Bobby’s sides.
“Okay, okay!” He said through near tears. “We’re not a boy band!”
Reggie immediately stopped and Bobby couldn’t help but sigh in relief. His heart was pounding and his stomach hurt from laughing so hard and his sides tingled where Reggie still hadn’t moved his hands from.
“I wanted to look like Leo in that one move you like,” Bobby said, softly. “Ma did her best.”
Reggie turned to him and grinned, a small giggle on his lips as he pressed their lips together. Bobby could barely kiss him back the other was moving so much, but he swallowed the little laughs of his boyfriend as best he could.
“It looks cute, Bobert,” Reggie replied, pulling back. His cheeks had started to flush and he still hadn’t stopped the giggles. “It suits you.”
Bobby bent forward and kissed Reggie on the tip of his nose.
“Alex and Luke are going to laugh so much, aren’t they?”
“Oh definitely.”

Fanfiction Masterlist
A (mostly) complete list of everything I have written for JATP! All links lead to AO3
Multichap Fics:
Completed fics are marked with an *
find the strength, find the melody (58k and counting)
An AU in which the boys are alive, Julie has been kicked out of her music program, and she somehow ends up falling in love with Luke in three days while he simultaneously brings her back to her first love of all: music.
16/17 Chapters
gimme a chance (it's worth taking) (43k and counting)
Luke Patterson has always had a sixth sense for knowing when he was in the company of a fellow musician. It's how he found his bandmates, how he manages to make the right kind of industry connections, and how he knows from the moment he spots her at a Sunset Curve show that Julie is a musician. Except, she claims not to be, and instead of actually talking about it, he just keeps hooking up with her in the alleyway behind the bar he works at. Which would be fine and good, great even, if he didn't know with every part of him that she was lying about the musician thing. Oh, and also if he didn't go and fall in love with her.
11/? Chapters (Rated M!)
lookin' for a sign* (51.2k)
Julie felt like she was looking in a mirror. Luke’s eyes were shining, passion overtaking his voice and lending it a kind of boyish quality that made her want to dive in with him, ask him all about the planets and when they would be able to see the next one, and what his opinions about Pluto were. She wondered if he knew the constellations as well, wondered what myths he had been told about their creation and who had told him. Did he know the Spanish names? Would she be able to share that knowledge with him? Her knees bent before she had time to consciously process the movement, dropping herself into the space next to him on the ground so they were eye level now. Luke regarded her softly, and their proximity allowed her to see the way his own eyes were tinged in red as well, leftover tear tracks dried on his cheeks.
“Tell me more about Jupiter.”

If their year apart had taught him anything, it was that Luke had never valued those little moments with her enough before.

Showtime
I finished this (and a SEQUEL) months ago but couldn’t post it because i was working on the OFMD TFB AU and i wanted it to list as my 200th fic on ao3 lol. But now, I’m free to post whatever I want whenever I want! So here is a fic lol
----
Fandom: Julie and the Phantoms
Ship(s): Gen (hints of Juke)
Characters (lee/ler): Julie, Switch!Luke, Alex, Reggie
Word Count: 1216 words
Summary: Julie is nervous before a gig. The guys show her what they used to do when they would get nervous.
[ao3 link]
------------------------
Julie shook out her hands, pacing back and forth in the empty space near the front of the studio. She could feel the guys’ eyes trailing after her but paid them no mind, trying to focus on controlling her breathing and slowing her heart.
“Is anyone else getting dizzy?” Reggie asked. Then, after a moment of silence where Julie assumed Alex and Luke gave him a look, he continued with a confused, “What?”
“Julie,” Alex called, his voice gentle. “Maybe you wanna sit down?”
Julie whirled to glare at him. “No, I don’t wanna sit down! How are you guys not nervous, right now?”
Luke scoffed. “Of course we’re nervous.”
Julie rolled her eyes, crossing her arms defensively in front of her chest. “Yeah, I’m really feeling the frantic energy, right now.”
Reggie raised his hand. “I’m nervous!”
Alex shifted forward on the couch, sitting on the very edge of it. “Honestly, I’m still terrified before every gig, no matter how many times we’ve gotten up on that stage.”
Luke walked toward her, his expression softening. Julie wished he was alive, that he wasn’t just air, so she could reach out and soak in the comfort of his touch.
“Everyone gets nervous before a gig, Julie,” he said, his voice low. “That part never goes away. But you learn how to deal with it, how to use it, even.” He smiled at her. “You’ll get there in no time.”
“Too bad we can’t touch you,” Reggie called out from where he’d sprawled himself on a chair. “We could show you how we always got Alex to relax, when he used to get like this.”
Julie furrowed her brow, dropping her defensive pose. “What?”
Alex gave an awkward laugh. “Yeah, I don’t think Julie needs to hear about that.”
A sly grin made its way onto Luke’s lips, and he winked at her before turning around to face Reggie and Alex. “Come on, man,” he said. “You said you were terrified, maybe it’ll help you out!”
Alex’s eyes went wide and Julie watched as his entire body went tense, like he was preparing to run. Reggie perked up with interest, sitting up and swinging his legs off the arm of the chair to settle on the ground.
“I was just trying to make Julie feel better!” Alex insisted, but the protest sounded weak even to Julie’s ears. “I feel fine, I promise!”
Reggie leaned forward. “Are you sure? Maybe if we show her, she can ask for Flynn’s help next time.”
“Yeah, come on, Alex,” Luke said, his voice light and teasing. “Don’t you wanna help Julie?”
Alex whined. “Why does it have to be me?”
Luke shrugged. “Cuz you’re an easy target.”
Julie flinched back as Luke shot towards Alex, who yelped and practically flew off the couch. Reggie laughed and jumped up from his chair, but was quickly barrelled over by the chase. Julie took a step back as the guys started wrestling on the ground. They may not be able to touch, but it was still weird when she passed through them, for all parties.
“Come on, Alex!” Luke said, laughing. “We all know you don’t actually care.”
Reggie laughed, too, shooting Julie a glance. “Well, not all of us.”
“Be quiet,” Alex grunted out, trying to fight the two of them off. “Don’t you dare—Ah!!”
Julie buried a grin as she watched Luke tackle Alex to the ground, draping his torso across Alex’s chest while he wrestled for Alex’s hands. Reggie tossed himself over Alex’s thighs, doing his best to help with… whatever this was.
“Reggie!” Luke called. “Get him!”
“Reggie, wait!”
Alex burst out in laughter, kicking and scrabbling his feet against the floor. Julie frowned, stepping closer to try and see what was going on between the tangle of writhing bodies and flying limbs. Julie couldn’t help but giggle herself when she saw what was making Alex shriek and sputter.
Reggie’s fingers were dancing across Alex’s sides and stomach, wiggling and kneading and scratching in ways that made Julie’s own tickle spots tingle in sympathy. It was clear that this was something that used to happen often, with the way Reggie never hesitated or paused. He seemed to know instinctively just how to send Alex cackling, and it was clearly working.
Luke’s yelp cut through Alex’s laughter, and even Reggie paused at the sound. Julie laughed a little louder when she saw Alex’s arms wrapped tightly around Luke, digging into his ribs while Luke futilely tried to scramble off of Alex to save himself.
Reggie gasped. “Are we having a tickle fight, now?”
Julie laughed again. “Are all of you this ticklish?”
Reggie grinned up at her, even as his fingers dove in towards Luke’s knees. “Pretty much. I’m the worst, though.”
Luke and Alex paused in their fighting, Luke shaking Reggie’s fingers off his legs.
“That’s right,” Alex said.
Another slow, sly grin spread over Luke’s face, and even Julie felt the butterflies in her stomach at the expression. She didn’t know what she’d do if it was turned on her.
“You are the most ticklish,” Luke muttered. “Aren’t you?”
Reggie let out a laugh. “Yeah, that’s what I just said.” Then his face dropped when he realized they were slowly advancing on him. “Wait, guys? Guys?!”
He scrambled backwards, and Julie jumped out of the way again, laughing all the while. Alex and Luke were laughing too, lunging after Reggie, who seemed to be fighting off a smile as he tried to escape. He wasn’t very successful, the two of them snatching Reggie by the ankles and reeling him in, their fingers attacking every spot they could reach. Julie wrapped her own arms around her stomach, unsure if she was glad or disappointed that they couldn’t do the same to her. Their wiggling fingers looked absolutely wicked.
“Jules?”
Julie jumped and the boys froze, all of them glancing over at the door. It was pulled open just enough for Flynn’s head to be peering through the gap. She raised an eyebrow at Julie.
“Oh! I, uh— it’s just, the guys.” She gestured to what was probably empty air for Flynn. “Goofing off.”
Flynn grinned, rolling her eyes. “Well, get ready! It’s time!”
As Flynn ducked back out of the studio, Luke, Alex, and Reggie scrambled to their feet, fumbling for their instruments. Julie shook her nerves out one last time, grinning as the guys walked up to her.
“You know what?” She said. “I do feel better”
Luke scoffed and rolled his eyes, Reggie laughed, and Alex rubbed at the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle.
“Maybe we’ll have to find a way to tip Flynn off, next time,” Luke said. “After all, we can’t have our frontrunner succumbing to stage fright.”
Julie thinks of the boys’ devious fingers, their teasing smiles, their playful taunts. She thinks of them directed at her, all while Flynn manipulated her as easily as she manipulated her mixer. Julie let out a nervous chuckle.
“No, I’m good.”
Luke grinned at her, that grin that never failed to make her tummy swoop and her face heat up, but Julie didn’t get a chance to respond before the loft doors were being pulled open again. Julie faced front, taking a deep breath.
Showtime.

Luke Attack
Summary: Reader keeps pushing Luke's buttons and unexpectedly gets what they deserve
Warnings: a LOT of tickling (like if you don't like it I wouldn't recommend reading this)
...........................................
The garage slowly started to empty. Julie had to do homework. Reggie probably went to go follow Ray. And soon enough Alex left, which left just you and Luke.
You twirled one of Alex’s drumsticks and stared up at the ceiling. “Do you ever wonder where drums originated from?” you asked.
Luke paused putting the equipment away to look at you, “What?” he asked, fighting not to laugh.
“I don’t know, like they are super cool sounding now, but like what if the first they just kinda put some materials together and it didn’t even make a noise?”
Luke laughed and shrugged. “A little random, but you’ve got a point.”
You continued twirling the stick for a couple seconds, but you realized it wasn’t quite entertaining enough.
“Hey, Luke?”
“Yeah?”
“Why do you have so many muscle shirts?”
He glanced at you, unsure of where this was going.
You leaned your back against the couch. “I’m just saying you don’t have to flex on us all the time.”
He cocked his head at you. “You’ve definitely stolen my shirts before.”
He had a point. But you weren’t trying to make a point. You couldn’t care less about his fashion choices; you were just trying to annoy him.
“Yeah, but at least I didn’t squeak at the last show.” You arched your eyebrows, challenging him.
He turned towards you and pointed an accusatory finger. “You were right next to me, you know that was the mic.”
You pursed your lips in an attempt to mimic confusion. “Mhmm, I don’t know if I believe that.”
Luke jerked his head up and took a few steps toward you with a potentially intimidating look in his eyes.
He leaned down to get in your eyesight from the couch. “You know that’s a lie.”
You shrugged, but you couldn’t help the small grin appearing on your face. “Maybe but I mean, we could never know for certain.”
Luke jutted out his chin, “Oh really, because I seem to remember Julie having a video of you falling off a stage.”
You unfortunately felt the heat rising to your face. “Hey, that was one time!” you exclaimed.
Luke chuckled and slyly smirked. “That’s what I thought.” He did a 180 and walked back to the other side of the garage.
Despite you being slightly flustered, you weren’t going to forget your mission.
“At least I didn’t break one of Ray’s plates.”
Luke back peddled and did another 180. “You were there, we watched Reggie do it.”
You met his gaze and tried not to squirm. “I seem to recall you being awfully close to the incident, to be completely innocent.”
He cocked his head at you and stared you down with a sort of fire in his eyes. “I was telling Reggie to stop messing with the plate.”
“I don’t know, seems a little bit sus to me.”
Luke slowly approached you, as he still held eye contact. And even though you watched him the whole time you still were trying to work out what had just happened as you felt hands gliding across your stomach.
You squirmed around like a fish in water before exploding into a giggle fit.
“I knew you were ticklish!” Luke yelled in delight.
“Nononononon Lhuhuke!” you protested.
“What, is someone just a little too ticklish to be starting arguments?” He tilted his head as if he was waiting for a legitimate answer.
Unsurprisingly, the only answer he got out of you, was the middle finger.
Luke chuckled at that but it soon turned to an evil grin. “Oh I think you are definitely too ticklish to be snarky.”
His hands snuck their way up into your armpits and began to roam.
Luke was grateful that the garage had somewhat thick walls, because someone might have thought you were being killed by the scream that came out of your mouth.
You would’ve tried to come up with some sort of remark towards him but the claws in your hallows made it impossible to focus on anything but laughing.
But, through your tickle haze you heard Luke speak. “I’ll make you a deal, if you tell me where the rest of your spots are I just might leave your armpits alone. If not, well I’m not in a hurry to go anywhere.”
He slightly let up for you to talk.
You decided that the consequences of telling him would be future you’s problem. “Fhehet, bahahck of thihighs, ahahand nehehck!”
“That was a big mistake, but I guess you didn’t have much of a choice huh?”
Oh he was grinning now.
Before you could even think about moving he already had your shoes and socks off.
“Maybe next time you’ll think twice before being a little shit,” he playfully teased.
He then did a test swipe across your toes, which he almost got kicked in the face for. He readjusted his grip in one hand and scribbled on a toe on the other hand.
Your body couldn’t control where it was going. Luke was surprised you didn’t fall off the couch. You howled in laughter and you would occasionally cackle as he lightly scribbled across your toes.
As a last ditch effort to maintain some of your quip you yelled, “fuhuUHUHck yhohouhu!”
Luke raised his eyebrows in surprise before turning to an amused smile. “I would maybe choose your words a little bit better next time you’re in this position.”
His hands quickly headed up to your stomach and armpits and you realized the error in your ways; but it was too late now.
You shrieked before descending into silent laughter. One of hands curled in and out across your stomach as the other spidered at your armpits. You squirmed around but he had you tightly pinned, you weren’t getting out of this, easily.
“I GIHIHIVE!” you screeched.
Luke chuckled at your predicament. “Oh you give now, not when you were trying to pick a fight?” he mocked.
“YEHEHES IIHIM SHOREHEY!”
He decided you had enough and let up on the tickling. He still sat on top of you as you caught your breath. Eventually, he slid off. He almost turned around but quickly squatted down next to you to pull your shirt up a little bit.
Before you could stop him, you felt his wet lips touch your stomach; and he blew as hard as humanly possible. You screeched and then giggled as your back arched, which coincidentally brought you closer to the ticklish vibrations.
“Sorry just had to try that,” he apologized, not sounding very apologetic at all.
He looked over at you and almost giggled himself at your giggly sleepy state.
“Come on, I’m carrying you back to your house.”
“No, Luke, someone could see me floating,” you protested.
“Do you really want to try to start another fight with me?” he asked. He wiggled his fingers at you ominously.
Your eyes widened in fear. “NO-nononononon! Nevermind, you can carry me.”
Luke laughed, and picked you up bridal style.
Let’s just say, he knew how to win against you now.

The Plan of the Century
Words: 2.2k
Summary: anon requested a fic for one of my head cannons that Luke has gotten tickled once by his band mates and they swore to never do it again
Warnings: a LOT of tickling (like if you don't like it I wouldn't recommend reading this)
...........................................
"Alright boys you ready?" Reggie asked, still running on adrenaline fumes from the show.
"Yes!" Bobby cheered. He squatted down like he was ready to pounce.
Alex pushed his hair back. "Guys, are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked uncertainly.
"No, but we gotta do it man, I mean come on, doesn't he deserve it?" Bobby asked.
Alex took a deep breath in. "You're right, we have to do this." He got into a running position.
He paused there for a moment before realizing that both his band mates hadn't moved.
Alex turned around. "Aren't you guys supposed to go around back and from the side?" he asked.
"Oh, right, yep!" Reggie exclaimed, before running out the side door.
"Wait, I thought I was-" Bobby stopped mid sentence before yelling, "Nevermind!" and running off.
"Yeah, there's no way this could possibly go wrong," Alex remarked.
Soon enough Alex saw a stage light flash above him, which he knew was his cue. He sprinted into the back hallway that they had entered earlier that evening and as he turned the corner he came face to face with their target, none other than their fourth band mate, Luke.
Alex froze in his spot. "Hi Alex," Luke sang. Confused, but slightly amused at his friend's startled state.
"Yeah, hi," he managed to stumble out.
"Did you need something?" There was a hint of genuine concern in his voice that Alex was genuinely upset but he couldn't quite tell. Before he could get closer to him to ask him what was wrong, he saw Reggie running up behind him.
"This is for tickling us all the time!" Reggie yelled.
"Yeah I think you missed the point where you're not supposed to announce your attack," Luke sarcastically commented, before taking off into a run.
He slipped past Alex with minimal effort and headed up the nearest set of stairs.
He faintly heard Reggie yelling something but he was already quite a distance away. He paused once he went up a couple levels to what looked to be a dance studio. He peered around in the dark for any sign of his other band mates but saw no sign of them. He settled for the far left corner of the room and sat down.
He tried to listen to the sound of footsteps, and soon enough heard them.
He could tell that Bobby was at the front and Reggie and Alex were trailing him.
Then the footsteps on the stairs stopped. For a moment everything stood still until his bandmates stepped onto the dance floor that he was currently sitting on.
"Luuuuuuuke," Bobby sang out.
Luke resisted the urge to scoff, two could play at that game.
He scrunched himself in the corner as much as he could and pulled a pencil out of his pocket. As quickly as he could he threw it to the other side of the room.
Alex screamed, Bobby jumped five feet in the air, and Reggie fell to the ground.
It took every bit of Luke's composure not to start laughing at his friends.
"I'm out, good luck you two," Alex attempted to announce, but Reggie pulled him back.
"Uh-uh you agreed to this, you're staying with us," he insisted.
"Guys he has to be in this room if he threw that pencil," Bobby realized.
"Oh does anyone have a flashlight?" Reggie asked.
"Why would we have a flashlight? Some of us don't plan to be in a dark ass room where Luke could pop out at any minute," Alex ranted. He was a little bit stressed about the current situation, to say the least.
"Okay each of you guys go to a corner, he's gotta be in one of them," Bobby guessed.
Reggie and him started to move but Alex stayed put. "Have you guys never seen horror movies, this-" he pointed around, "is how people die."
"Relax it's just Luke. I mean, what could he possibly dOHOHO!" Reggie's sentence was stopped in his tracks by his panicked laughter.
"Yeah, what could he possibly do Reg?" Luke mocked, as he squeezed at his armpits.
"Let's get him Alex!" Bobby yelled across the room.
The two boys ran to where they heard Reggie's laughter. They couldn't really tell who was who, so they both piled on top of Reggie and Luke.
The four were a mess of flying limbs and Reggie's laugh was still somewhere in the mix.
Luke had unfortunately gotten pinned to the bottom of the stack, so even despite his strength over the three, he wasn't going anywhere.
Reggie was quick to notice this situation. “Bobby get his arms and Alex sit on his legs!” he instructed.
Luke attempted to crawl away but with three people scrambling over top of him it was proving to be nearly impossible.
Soon enough the two boys had a decent hold on him. But despite his exposed position, Luke was not giving up.
“You guys are so dead once I get out,” he calmly commented. His face showed no fear, but there was a slight smirk on his lips.
“Yeah, once you get out,” Bobby emphasized on the once.
Reggie’s hand was slowly descending towards Luke’s stomach but he just glared at Reggie’s face.
But as the hand touched his stomach he had to fight his facial muscles to continue not reacting.
Reggie was grinning from ear “Come on Luke, you know you want to laugh,” Reggie teased.
“No I don’t, asshole,” Luke rushed out to avoid laughing.
“Oh Reg try to claw at his stomach,” Alex suggested.
“Oh, good idea!”
The second his hand turned into a claw Luke quite literally screamed. Despite his low voice, he descended into high pitched giggles. But his adorable giggles greatly contradicted the words coming out of his mouth.
“Youhohou arhahare ahahall soho fuhucking dhehead!” he yelled.
“Oh my god his laugh is sooooo cute!” Almost cute enough for Reggie to forget what he was doing.
“Wait, try doing it faster,” Bobby advised. His eyes were alight with a proud fire that they had dethroned Luke.
As Reggie picked up his intensity and Luke let out an ear piercing screech. In fact, his laughter was more now screeching and yelling than laughter.
In the heat of his screaming Luke came up with an idea. He reached his arms back a little bit to squeeze at Bobby’s sides.
He screeched and flew back; which left only Alex on his legs. He quickly managed to push him off before going straight for Reggie.
“See I told you, you were dead,” he said proudly, and slightly out of breath.
He started tasering up and down his ribs, right in between his bones. As he was doing this, Bobby recovered from his tumble. He tried to come save Reggie but Luke saw him coming from the corner of his eye. One hand stayed on Reggie while the other squeezed Bobby’s nearest calf. He quickly tumbled to the ground right next to Reggie which made Luke’s job even easier. He moved so he could have one knee on each of their legs to hold them in place.
“Well what a problem you two have landed yourselves in.” Luke said with a fire both in his eyes and in his voice, that the two knew they had royally fucked up.
They exchanged a look of slight fear before turning back to face their impending doom.
“Ya know I think now would be a good time to practice playing my guitar.”
There were several protests and no’s, but they were of course ignored.
Luke harshly brushed his hands across their stomachs taking amusement in their very different reactions. Reggie was loudly giggling with his eyes squeezed back whereas Bobby was cackling and his eyes would go wide the closer Luke got to his waist.
After a few minutes of his ‘guitar practice’ Luke decided to practice some other things.
“I think my singing’s been getting better because I’ve learned how to use my air efficiently. But I guess there’s only one way I can really know.” He rolled both of their shirts up slightly and there was definitely a scream of ‘Luke no!’ which Bobby would deny he did till this day.
He kept one hand spidering on one person’s stomach as he blew raspberries on the other.
Reggie thought his soul was going to come out of his body when it came his turn. He wasn’t certain if it had anything to do with Luke’s ability to sing, but he knew it tickled like hell.
Reggie’s eyes squeezed even tighter, and he tried to curl in on himself; but Luke was there, so he couldn’t.
Both boys couldn’t handle the back and forth of spidering and raspberries. They were both screaming so loud and high pitched Luke was surprised no one had come in to make sure they were still all alive.
“So do you guys wanna tell me who is the best tickler, or do I need to keep demonstrating for you?” Luke smugly asked.
“Yoohohu!” Reggie immediately agreed.
“Mehehe!” Bobby replied. He evidently still had a little bit of fight in him.
What was that Bobby?” Luke asked. He now was repeatedly blowing raspberry after raspberry on his tummy, and after about 10, Bobby gave into defeat.
Luke smiled evilly, and started slowing his fingers. “And who’s never going to try to tickle me again?”
“Uhuhus!” they both yelled.
“I think, I might need to make sure.”
Before they could utter another cry of no, Luke was squeezing Bobby’s quads and was vibrating his hand into Reggie’s ribs. They were losing it, not only is Luke freakishly good at tickling but he was tickling each of their worst spots.
They both were screeching and belly laughing. Their bodies could no longer even bother to fight off Luke’s hands, they just laid there and took it. They laughed until their voices went hoarse.
“So who’s not going to try tickling me again?” Luke asked. He stopped his hands but kept them in the same place.
“Us, us definitely us!” they agreed.
Luke was satisfied with that answer and crawled off of them. He turned around him to see that Alex was nowhere to be seen; which made sense, since it had been several minutes.
Luke took off downstairs to where he assumed Alex was. He noticed Alex on the small balcony on the side of the stage. He quieted his steps as he raced down to the next floor. He ran across the back edge of where hours ago was filled with people. Luke quickly reached the steps to the balcony. He slowly and stealthily snuck up on them. Alex was perched on his toes looking for Luke, he unfortunately didn’t bother to look behind him.
“Gotcha!” he yelled as he grabbed Alex and pinned him to the ground.
“Wait, Luke! Wait, wait, wait, I didn’t even want to be a part of this plan,” Alex quickly spoke.
Luke arched his eyebrows. “Then why did you help Reggie?” He lightly placed his hand on his neck.
“What?” Alex asked, momentarily forgetting his earlier comment.
“Oh fuck.”
Luke chuckled slightly at his friend's response before lightly fluttering his fingers across Alex’s neck.
Alex quickly clamped down on Luke’s hands, though he knew that wouldn’t stop him.
“Uh oh Alex, now my fingers won’t be able to get out,” he teased with a mischievous look in his eyes.
“Shuhuhut ihihihit!” Alex groaned.
“Ooooooh bad choice of words bro.”
One hand stayed at his neck while the other harshly squeezed at his sides.
“AhahahAAHHA nooooo!” Alex yelled.
His laughter would jump up than back down as Luke constantly changed how much he squeezed his side.
Alex was quickly turning into a giggly mess at Luke’s revenge.
“So who’s the best tickler in sunset curve?” Luke asked innocently.
Alex loudly responded with a giggly ‘you!’.
“And who’s not going to try to tickle me ever again?”
“Meheheh!” Alex surrendered.
“Hold on I just gotta make sure.” He dipped his head down to blow raspberries on Alex’s stomach, still not letting up with his other hands.
Alex quickly went silent except for occasionally letting out a small snort. After five, Luke decided to let up on him.
They were shortly joined by a still red faced Reggie and Bobby. “You’re lucky, he went way harder on us,” Reggie said pointing to himself and Bobby.
Luke turned to them and swiftly walked up to them. They backed up equally fast, until their backs hit the wall. “But if you ever try it again, it will be ten times worse,” he threatened.
Bobby held his hands up in surrender. “Yep, got it,” Reggie said.
He turned again, “And Alex-” he started to say.
“Yep, got it, don’t have to worry about me, I swear,” Alex promised, with his hands up.
Luke grinned, “Alright boys, I’m starving, let’s go eat.”
And since that very day the boys have stayed true to their word, out of fear of Luke’s revenge.
