Robin rolls her eyes, picking at the grass by her ankles. She's tempted to throw some at Steve but she doesn't really wanna see the blades phase through him right now, even if he'll play up his outrage to distract her.

He's been doing that a lot lately. Trying to distract her from the fact that he's - that -

"Okay, okay, hear me out - Chrissy Cunningham."

"The cheerleader?" Robin wrinkles her nose. "Steve."

"It could happen!" Steve says defensively,  sticking his tongue out when Robin gives him her most 'seriously?' face she can muster. "Don't judge a book by its cover, or whatever."

"You're literally meant to do that, that's what the cover's for!"

"Well then, why do people even say that?!"

"I don't know!"

"Is it always like this with you two?" The grouchiest voice cuts through them and Steve spins around in place, floating up even higher so he can stare down at Eddie.

Robin just snorts. "Pretty much."

"Don't be too jealous, Munson," Steve coos, turning himself upside down with a wide grin. "You'll find your soulmate at some point, probably."

"Oh wow, probably," Eddie grouses, and Robin has to bite back a laugh when Steve, still upside down, floats behind him with a silly face stretching out...the scar on his chin. "I am ever so gracious for your faith, oh Generous King."

"This guy's a riot," Steve laughs, poking a finger through Eddie's shoulder and making him jump in place. "Bobbie, can we keep him?"

She wrinkles her nose and shakes her head. "I'll end up being the one taking care of him if we do."

"I'm right fucking here," Eddie glares at the both of them, which is just prime material to get them snickering. "Whatever, did it work or not?"

And with that, the laughs cut off.

Robin remembers.

Steve's dead.

"Hey," The ghost of Steve floats over to her, sitting down beside her on the grass. "It's okay -"

"It didn't -" Robin chokes out, avoiding Eddie's eye, staring down at the dirt that she's plucked bare of green. "It didn't. They couldn't see."

The air is silent.

"Probably for the best," comes a sigh and Robin feels rage boil through her blood.

"What the hell?" She glares up at Eddie, who holds his hand up in surrender.

"Look, I know you're both desperate to get your little 'Party' up to speed but like...I mean, just look at him." Eddie waves to all of Steve's ghost, who looks more and more affronted with every word Eddie says. "Do you really think it's a good idea for actual children who watched him die to see him again in the exact same get-up? With the same wounds?"

Robin pauses but Steve just glares harder. "Oh sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to go shopping at Ghosts-R-Us and pick a whole new outfit! What, you think I want to be stuck in this uniform? In the shorts?"

Eddie's face goes red and Robin distantly thinks 'serves you right' as the echo of "watched him die" cycles through her brain. "Well I - I don't know, you're a fucking ghost, you should have ghostly powers or something!"

"Have you ever met a ghost before?!"

"Have you?"

"Stop," Robin chokes out and she immediately gets the chills as Steve waves a hand through her shoulder. "Just stop."

She can't feel him, because he's gone. He's gone. He's gone -

"I'm right here, Rob," Steve's voice murmurs to her and she sobs. "I'm always with you, promise."

"I'm so sorry," she cries, burying her face in her hands and curling up, grief pulling down at her heart. "I'm so sorry, Steve -"

"Shh, it's okay, birdie," he says and she almost feels the warmth he should have. "It's not your fault, it's okay."

"I thought - I just - if we tell everyone, maybe they'll know what - how to - I'm sorry -"

"Wasn't your fault, Bucks," Eddie says gruffly, sitting down next to her roughly. "Just what happens sometimes. That kinda shit...'s out of our control."

She sniffles, burying her hand deeper into her own skin, hoping it'll suffocate the tears out of her, or maybe make her pass out so she doesn't have to think about all of it for a bit, or scratch away the endless void of pain inside her chest -

"Birdie, hey, look at me."

She doesn't.

"Robin."

She can't.

"Please?"

With another choked out sob, she looks up to see Steve Harrington, smiling at her like he never left. Like she didn't leave him.

"No matter what happened, or what happens," he says softly, nearly see-through fingers trying to brush her hair out of her face. Maybe she should get bangs. "I'm always with you, Robs. Not even until death do us part. Platonic soulmates for the rest of time."

She wails and shoves her face into his shoulder, not even caring if she passes through him. A hand pats her back, probably Eddie's, and she sobs louder because why did he get to see Steve? Why did she force him to know? Why couldn't they just be happy?

"Woah, how the hell -"

Robin blinks.

She's sobbing into Steve's shoulder. He's patting her back.

She quickly moves back and stares, Steve's own surprised face staring back, no bruises or scars or Scoops uniform in sight.

"What -"

And in a snap, his face turns back to battered and the warm red sweater he was wearing just a second ago turns back into the bright blue sailor shirt. His hair loses its fluff and goes back to that sad, wiry, bloodied mop.

He changed.

"So you do have ghost powers!" Eddie says triumphantly, as Steve sputters.

"I guess?!" He looks down at his hands, reaching out to touch Robin's fingers, but all she feels is the cold. "How did - why did it stop?"

With one last sniffle, she cups the air around his fingers and looks up at the both of them, her Steve and their spontaneously adopted Eddie (in retrospect, maybe they are weirdo magnets? Better think about that later). She says, with as much determination as she can muster, "This isn't over. We're getting you back."

Your tags on the post about Scar winning phase one of decked out has me ‼️‼️ (/positive) I'm almost finished watching bdubs lim life pov and I keep hearing Scar talk about how he's so bad at getting kills and yet he consistently is in the top 5 when it comes to kill counts. Like?? Scar knows how to be good at the game. This is the same guy who had a reputation from when he used to play Call of Duty as being very good. He's silly sometimes, sure, but he's also competent. I genuinely hope he continues winning at decked out and that he wins a life series season one day.

One time I saw a stat after Limited Life had ended that said out of everyone, only three players got more kills than they did deaths. Those three players were Martyn (won limlife), Scott (also very competent, 3rd place) and… Scar. Now I don’t know how accurate that information was, but it completely changed my view of his performance. When he wants to, Scar can be very good at the game (at least by life series standards). Lest we forget he pretty much solo’d both Ren (!) and Martyn (!!!) in Third Life and that’s BEFORE his mcc training arc. Not to mention his social game (evidence: he’s SCAR. The life series works on rule of funny and Scar getting away with his latest scheme is often funnier than if he doesn’t). I’ve always said that a main part of Scar and his persona is that he messes around and acts silly™️ as a cover for 1. The times when he actually does mess up and 2. The fact that he’s VERY smart and can be genuinely scary from a gameplay standpoint when he puts his mind to it. It’s funny to me how often people fall for his facade. Like that’s the whole point! ‘Is he doing it on purpose’ most of the time, yes!!! Don’t underestimate him.

For reasons that have everything and nothing to do with the most recent chapters of I&S, I've been thinking a lot about a time travel AU that I will absolutely never write.

Specifically, I want a time travel AU where little-kid!Zuko (age 9-10) travels forward in time and meets angry-teen!Zuko (we're talking like... the Book 1 egghead version of angry-teen!Zuko here). I know that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but the way I envision this playing out is:

Teen!Zuko and kid!Zuko meet, and after a healthy amount of confusion, figure out that they're two different versions of the same person. Kid!Zuko is... not thrilled to be stuck on a rickety old ship with a much grumpier version of himself, but hey! Uncle Iroh is here, and he's got lots of board games and even more free time, so it could be worse. Teen!Zuko, meanwhile, is having a bit of a crisis as he gets slapped in the face with several realizations all at once.

Realization #1: A warship is not a good place for a 9-10 year old boy to live, but there's literally nowhere else in the world where kid!Zuko will be safe. For as long as kid!Zuko is stuck in this timeline, teen!Zuko has to look after him.

Realization #2: Oh, shit. No one has seriously fucked up kid!Zuko yet. His life obviously hasn't been perfect, but this is pretty much the peak of kid!Zuko's sweet-and-innocent phase.

Realization #3: ... as fucked up as teen!Zuko's life has been, he desperately doesn't want to be the person who fucks up kid!Zuko's life.

Cue teen!Zuko scrambling to get his shit together so that he can be a reasonably healthy and stable guardian/big brother figure for his younger self. He starts working on his temper and trying to take Iroh's advice more seriously, and while things don't always go smoothly (kid!Zuko definitely picks up some vigilante tendencies from teen!Zuko. There may or may not be sightings of a tiny Blue Spirit causing trouble up and down the Earth Kingdom coast), teen!Zuko eventually figures out what he's doing. He puts in the work to become a decent role model, he deals with some of his own shit (and his outlook on life improves), he grows to see kid!Zuko as the little brother he never had, and he generally doesn't fuck anything up too badly.

Basically, looking after kid!Zuko teaches teen!Zuko self love (but with extra steps! I don't think grumpy-teen!Zuko could ever learn anything the simple way 😂)

All of that growth makes it harder and harder for teen!Zuko to ever envision himself returning to the Fire Nation. After all, if he wouldn't put his younger self through the pain of going back there and dealing with Ozai, why should he put his present self through that? And on a related note, kid!Zuko definitely has questions about teen!Zuko's scar and banishment. When teen!Zuko reaches a point where he's able to think about the Agni Kai, he can't imagine anything that kid!Zuko could ever do to deserve that kind of treatment, which leads teen!Zuko to question whether he deserved it. And as teen!Zuko starts to come to grips with the fact that he's probably never going back home - certainly not if it would mean putting kid!Zuko through the same pain that teen!Zuko experienced there - he has to start considering what other options he has for the future.

Kid!Zuko may or may not accelerate teen!Zuko's redemption arc even more by befriending various members of the Gaang and dragging his 'big brother' along to meet his new friends/disappearing for a few hours with his new friends only to be 'rescued' by teen!Zuko who is... very surprised and very awkward about it when he realizes who kid!Zuko is hanging out with.

There are obviously lots of time travel AUs out there already, but apparently this one is just going to live in my brain for the forseeable future 😂 As much as I love the standard "post-redemption!Zuko meets Book 1 Zuko and mentors his younger self to accelerate his own redemption/drags himself kicking and screaming toward redemption" time travel AUs that I see around the fandom, I think I'm just hungry for a time travel AU where pre-redemption!Zuko doesn't know what his future could look like. To me, there's just something really appealing about the idea of a time travel AU where his redemption gets accelerated not because he knows his life will get better if he becomes a better person, but because he wants to be someone who his younger self can be proud of.

I like the idea of Luke liking rock songs.

Autotheist conveys how the protagonist doesn't believe in a god, because they made them suffer throughout their whole life.

Someone up there is telling them to behave, let it be portrayed as god or not.

Luke had this whole desire to be claimed, to be recognized, to be a hero, to be believed. To the point he started despising Olympus for using demigods, all of them, for their prophecies. Luke hates the Olympus system, and became hungry for power, for freedom. He doesn't want to be a god like the song says: he wants to stop the gods from being absolute pricks; not only his father, all of the gods seem wicked to him.

3. Escape - Destroy Boys

Never able to avoid the gay allegations when Destroy Boys starts to play.

I feel like this is pretty much Luke in a band AU. Though if you take some elements you can think just as him wanting to escape from the whole demigod thing. Just not be related to it at all.

He doesn't want Hermes to be his father, hell- he HATES him. But he can't go and tell him 'hey you stupid fuck can you tell your god friends to stop fucking around and claim me? Because you are NOT my father', he can't, so he just tries to fix everyone else while he's falling and slowly giving himself in to ambition.

This song shows SO MUCH DESESPERATION. And I know the lyrics aren't things the English-speaking style can fully understand. But, the song conveys how they are going down and down both mentally and physically and everyone is positive about it, almost like fake fantasy; "You'll get better soon!"

Four words: Luke after his quest.

Everyone looked at him with worry, guilt even. When Luke got the quest he wanted to be seen as a hero. But he came back harmed. And everyone hoped that he would get better, but he still had his scar chasing him everywhere he went.

What are your thoughts on ftm Stu-Pot?

I tend to hold multiple headcanons at once depending on what the situation calls for and trans 2D is one of those. I don’t interpret him as trans for every time I’m playing in this sandbox but sometimes I do. He’s just got t-boy swagger

To me, ftm 2D got to start transitioning early and is such a lad that he also forgets he’s trans.

I have far too many and I physically can’t pick favorites, so I present you; Pop’s Fukalen Headcanon Masterlist (that hasn’t been updated in a good while)

-They get into dumb stupid trouble a lot, Len cuz he’s overly confident, stubborn and stupid, and Fukase because he’s an agent of chaos

-They casually bully (not really, just tease) each other a lot

-They don’t really need to communicate to cause havoc, they just sorta catch each others dumbass brain waves

-Though Luka is the main English tutor for the Kagamines, Fukase also helps Len with his English a lot

-After Fukase has helped Len with English so much, it became a habit for Fukase to speak English to Len so that he could hear it more and learn, so though it’s not actually necessary it has become natural for them to have conversations where Len speaks Japanese and Fukase speaks English

-Fukase’s kinda jealous of Len’s dance skills but refuses to admit it, instead just saying Len’s a show off (he’s not wrong)

-They’re both gamers and play together a lot, though Fukase leans more towards shooters and Len’s a bit of a rhythm game fanatic

-They played Portal 2 together which consisted of Fukase carrying and Len fucking around bc he wasn’t built for puzzle games

-Fukase says project diva is dumb and not even a good game because he generally doesn’t like rhythm games as he tends to suck at them, but he’s secretly a hardcore project diva fan and plays it a lot

-Similarly, he complains about Sekai being cashgrab trash and just another shitty gacha game but he’s mildly addicted

-Oh and his fave module is Len’s Trickster one because then they have a matching cane and hat vibe goin’ on

-Sometimes when they’re in group chat with friends Fukase and Len will argue, and Fukase will say something like “shut up bb”, earning something like a “lmao you calling him baby that’s kinda gay” from the others, and the response is usually something along the lines of “YOU ALL KNOW ITS SHORT FOR BANANA BOY SHUT THE HELL UP”

-Len makes fun of Fukase’s overly complicated design a lot but had an edgy phase where he thought it was the peek of fashion and secretly wanted to look like him

-Len really likes Fukase’s lower range (especially when paired with his softer voice), but keeps that secret locked up and kept away from everyone and anyone

-Len assumed for ages that Fukase wore eyeliner until he did his makeup once and told him to take it off and Fukase was like “what eyeliner” and Len was like “you’re not wearing eyeliner???”

-Fukase gets super easily cold which is why he wears so many layers, meanwhile Len is that kid that walks around in a t-shirt and shorts all year around, a bit of a living heater if you will. It can either be optimal for cuddling or make it impossible, depends

-They use a lot of different nicknames for each other depending on context- usually Fukase might call Len “Banana Boy”, “Blondie”, “Twink” or “Dumbass” and Len might call Fukase “Clown” “Fuckass” “Fuka” or “Kase”. You’ll probably never catch Fukase saying “Babe” (Banana Boy > BB > Baby/Babe)or Len saying “Fukafuka” (fluffy/soft) out in the open tho

-Fukase and Flower are best friends, and Flower has a habit of giving people nicknames based on flowers. Fukase sorta picked up on this, occasionally calling Len “Buttercup”

-Every time someone asks Fukase how his face got scarred he comes up with the most wild and shocking story he can think of on the spot to get a reaction out of whoever is asking, but none of these manage to shock Len anymore because he’s heard every single one Fukase has managed to conjure up

-Fukase has multiple sorted reference, meme, quote, and random picture folders so he can send whatever he deems perfect in any given situation at any given time. Depending on context Len will more often than not know “oh this person said this, so Fuka is gonna send/show this specific thing in three, two, one- there it is”

-Whenever Len comes over to Fukase he will prioritize saying hi to Point before Fukase. Fukase‘s kinda accepted that Len likes Point more than him

-The way Len treats Point compared to the way Fukase does is night and day- Len holds it like a newborn child talking to the it like it’s a puppy, while Fuka be out here dragging it by a limb sayin “ya stinky”

-Point is their unofficial child probably

-Len likes a lot of Fukase’s original English songs, but knows his own English isn’t the best, at least not compared to Fukase’s, so he only ever jams to them and sings along in private

-Though he makes fun of it a lot, Fukase thinks Len’s English is kinda endearing, but he keeps that to himself

-Fukase has the weird ability to making insults sound like compliments, and compliments sound like insults, and Len is sick of it cuz it makes him very confused and annoyed

-Fukase speaks fluent sarcasm, meanwhile Len’s brain sometimes just short circuits and he can’t pick up on sarcasm whatsoever

-Fukase is a smartass with dumbass energy and Len is a dumbass who tries to have smartass energy (in contrast to Rin, who fully embraces her dumbassness and dumbass energy and thinks Len should too. He insists he isn’t as dumb as her and she’s like “bro you’re literally my reflection”)

-Len legit has a big ego (some describe him as mildly narcissistic) while, Fukase is just great at faking confidence and actually doesn’t think very highly of himself, though Len insists he absolutely should

-Fukase likes cracking self deprecating jokes. He does that more than your average person due to his secretly low confidence

-Len, due to his higher than average confidence, usually doesn’t find self deprecating jokes funny cuz he doesn’t relate to them, and it often takes him a second to get them. Sometimes, if he notices his friends making a lot of them, he’ll get kinda worried and be like “damn you need therapy or smthn?”

-Len sometimes aggressively delivers compliments to Fukase, or whoever he thinks needs them

-Fukase’s terrible at accepting compliments

-Len straight up started giving Fukase self love classes to teach him real confidence

-He also gives Fukase dance lessons, but Fukase usually doesn’t learn much because Len’s too busy showing off. They have fun tho

-Fukase really like when Len has his hair down

-Len’s kind of a mess in the kitchen, so when they have to prepare something themselves Fukase usually does it for the both of them

-When they’re out together they like to get milkshakes/smoothies. If both are almost broke and they gotta share, they compromise and get the banana and strawberry drink. While their fave flavors in general are banana for Len and strawberry for Fukase, they both have come to enjoy the banana and strawberry combo. Sometimes they lie to each other abt being broke just to order it and share

-Len says Wi-Fi Imagination Wild Boy is “their song” but Fukase likes to pretend it doesn’t exist and never happened out of embarrassment

-Len likes having one hand on each side of Fukase’s face because the difference in skin texture on each side feels funny. Fukase says it’s weird that he likes doing that, but doesn’t stop him from squishing his face

-Fukase always ponders how the Cryptons have perfect skin, or well, at least he knows Len does- perfect nails too, great for head scratches

-While Fuka is normally not the biggest fan of surprise physical contact, it’s kinda become a habit of Len to just randomly scratch his head or run his hand through his hair. This is an exception. If you comment on it tho, Fukase will suddenly start acting annoyed by it and smack Len’s hand away. Len teases him a bit for liking it

-Len absolutely adores how fluffy and messy Fukase’s hair is

-Fukase has his reasons for keeping his arm bandages, maybe health, convenience, not wanting to freak people out- but one is because he has a habit of picking at the skin there, which Len is trying to get him to stop doing

-Fukase’s arm picking worries Len, so sometimes he changes Fukase’s bandages for him just to make sure he won’t do it

-Len’s a trans guy and Fukase is one of the few people Len’s comfortable not binding his chest in front of, other than the other Cryptons and Piko (bc Piko’s his best friend)

-Fuka barely needs any sleep getting like 4 hours on average, while is a professional honk mimimier who likes getting his 8 hours of beauty sleep

-Because of Len’s habit of sleeping like a baby and the fact that he’s usually busy as fuck, Fukase always lets him sleep in when they have sleepovers at his place, not having the heart to wake him up

-When they have sleepovers they always end up having an argument a little while after Len starts showing signs of being tired. These basically consist of Len saying “if I go to bed now I know you’re just gonna stay up all night, get your ass to bed now or I’m staying up and annoying you while sleep deprived” and Fukase saying “you look like you’re gonna pass out and you know damn well I won’t be able to sleep for a while, go to bed or I’m carrying your sleepy ass over there“. Which of them wins varies

-Though they both frequently tease each other and are okay with teasing/being teased about pretty much anything, they also know exactly when they’re crossing a line or pushing certain buttons. Sometimes they’ll push the others buttons just a little or see how far they can go, but they always know when to stop and when the other isn’t cool with it anymore

-Fukase adores the horror genre as a whole, while Len’s more easily freaked out but pretends like he has no fear- so, when they’re for example picking out a movie to watch, Fukase might wanna watch a horror movie and Len will be like “Pft of course no problem I’m not a wimp” but then later in the middle of the movie they’ll have to pause and chill together for a bit because Fukase’s like “dude you look like you’re gonna cry maybe let’s not, want some hot coco?”

-Fukase and Len once started talking about some English tv show and after it came up in conversation Len confessed that he had a hard time following without Japanese subtitles, especially when he wants to sing along to the songs. This lead Fuka to say he could help him if there was anything he needed clarified when watching it, which lead to them watching the show together. Now they’ve developed a habit of watching stuff together so Fukase can help translate and clarify, even though Len doesn’t need it much anymore

-While Len loves doing concerts and performances, he gets very homesick and missed his friends since he’s so social. He’ll text people non stop, though he’s sometimes worried that it gets a little annoying- but Fukase doesn’t mind at all. Len always somehow gives him the ability to watch them live from his home and tells him about how it is and that he misses him, and since Fukase doesn’t have a sleep schedule it usually works wherever Len is. Len also hooked him up with some real nice glowsticks that he furiously waved around when watching

-Since Fukase and especially Len are both pretty dang successful and feel like can’t really comfortably talk about their insecurities or negative feelings regarding their loid status in front of less successful loids, like Piko or Lui, they kinda just talk about it to each other. They bond over it- knowing Piko has it worse, Fuka isn’t as bothered much by his licensing, but is ashamed that his VP doesn’t care for him. And Len, tho almost always feeling like he’s the best he could be, sometimes feels inferior to Rin when remembering that he’s just kind of an add on to her

-Len has little to no insecurities regarding his looks, though he spent like his eye color very much, partially bc he’s often made to wear brighter green or blue contacts for promo stuff. Fukase thinks this is bullshit and Len’s eyes are pretty as hell

-Fukase is disabled, hence the cane, and doesn’t typically mind it too much because it lets him skip out on a lot of stuff in PE and other such things. His one complaint is that he can’t really carry Len bc of his balance, but Len insists it’s ok

-While being a bit of a twig and not a fan of exercise, but he does have a bit of upper body mass because he plays drums and has used crutches/wheelchairs at several points in life. Len’s the more athletic of the two tho and likes to brag about

-Len has dog energy and Fukase has cat energy

-Len bought Fukase a pair of those headphones with cat ears on them. Fukase said it was stupid, asked why he spent money on them and claimed he’d never wear them, but he often uses them at home

-They’ve faked a proposal for free food

-Len kinda doesn’t really know what exactly Fukase is or how he works but also doesn’t really care

-Fukase loves showing Len games that are actually horror games but don’t seem like it at first. Len always gets suspicion and Fukase always goes “nonono this ones’s fine it’s not scary at all I promise” and Len always falls for it

-After Len complained about it enough he finally manages to get Fukase to eat three meals a day (or at least try to). Fukase forgets to every now and again but Len’s usually there to remind him

-Despite the fact that nothing seems to make Len insecure ever, there was one time his perfect skin had a pimple and he refused to come out of his room for almost anything. Fukase had to sit outside his room and convince him it really wasn’t that bad on three separate occasions

-One time when Len and Rin were hanging out with Miku and some popular friends after a concert Fukase borrowed Flower’s motorbike to pick Len up so he’d seem cool. Was very effective on Len but the others were like “lmao you two are dorks” and “Wait is Fukase even allowed to drive that”

-Their friends were genuinely very surprised to find out that they liked each other because they both had this very tsundere-esque, mean, teasing and pulling no punches way of interacting so everyone figured they really disliked each other (both of them were surprised to find that the other liked them back too)

-When Fukase and Moke, who were the last members to join the friend group, first met Len, Fukase really disliked him while Moke adored him. This was in big part because Fukase knew Len’s celebrity image as an arrogant, self obsessed, annoying asshole, and Moke, being very into otaku culture, was a big fan who idolizes him and found his celebrity image to be talented and charming. However, when they actually got to know him, the script completely flipped and Fukase now finds him dumb, but charming, while Moke just finds him unbearable

If she simply just dumped him, it wouldn't've been such a big deal. He'd take his time to seduce her again, because by now, he knew her. He knew so much more than she liked to admit. She wouldn't be able to keep herself away from him; he was her weakness just as much as she was his.

The problem was that his own god threatened to take her. And if there was anything Gortash wanted to avoid, it was that - he knew full well what Tav would get from the God of Darkness if Gortash didn't get the stones.

It was all his fault for not concentrating enough on his duties when he knew what was at stake.

Bane, at least, gave them a lot of time, which was surprising, coming from the God of Tyranny. They were just after a new moon, which meant Gortash had almost a month to lure her back and convince her to take Orin down. They still had a chance. They still could survive this. And when he had the stones...

This was, of course, easier thought out than done. The planning phase had to be rushed. He had to take rather drastic measures to gain her favour again.

Since she'd told a lot about herself and how she saw the world, Gortash was trying to tickle that part in earnest to get on her good side again. Which was why, just a few days later, a big, abandoned house in Rivington had been remade as a shelter for the refugees. His next step was giving food and clothes to those who were in need, snapping back at any and all nobles who questioned his decisions. The portions weren't a lot, though; just enough so the poor helpless folk would survive. Unsurprisingly, people of the city loved that. Gortash found that a little charity did good for his fame. Not like he needed it, but it was good, because she would hear about it, too. He also recalled her being unable to acquire soap in the city, too, so he'd made sure to supply that to the inns and taverns as well. Very minimal effort which made a world of good to the poor - and would get her attention almost immediately.

He knew he never would've done it if the fate of her soul wasn't at stake. It was marvelous how the tables turned as soon as she was involved in such a way. Once he secured her on his side for good, he must do something about this. He wouldn't allow anyone to threaten her ever again, anyone...

Not even his own god.

On top of this, he spent a generous amount of resources on knowing where she went and what she was doing. He spared no gold, favours and time to do that; he had to schedule a meeting with her as soon as possible. She couldn't be out there alone. Not in her rather... delicate state.

And that was something she visibly didn't even know.

"Shadowheart", she mumbled when the other entered her tent.

Tav had spent the entire day lying in her bedroll, fighting the urge to cry, with little to no success. Her voice was hoarse, and in short, she felt like shit. Shadowheart settled just beside her, a smile playing on her face, her expression much more open with her silver hair than with the black from earlier.

"How are you feeling?"

Tav sat up. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying on and off and not being able to sleep.

"How do you think?" She asked back, lips trembling. "Why do I always get together with assholes? Am I cursed?"

"I could try and cast remove curse on you, see if it helps", Shadowheart smiled a little more, then put her hand on Tav's back and rubbed gently. "I'll admit, I had a hard time accepting whatever you had with Gortash, but seeing you like this, again..." She paused for a moment. "It hurts. You've always helped me, even through the worst of it, and I feel powerless. Tell me how I can make you feel better."

"Cast greater restoration on me instead", Tav groaned, "I must've caught some sort of bug. I can barely keep food down."

Shadowheart looked puzzled for a moment.

"We've been eating the same food."

Tav blushed.

"Well, about that... I sneak out at night because I want to eat something specific."

"Such as?"

"Red meat, mainly", Tav rested her head on her knees after she pulled her legs up to hug them. "I could eat a cart full of red meat."

"That's curious", Shadowheart raised her brows, an idea stirring in her mind.

"Maybe the last time we went into a fight, a werewolf scratched me or something", Tav sighed. "The symptoms are similar."

Shadowheart observed Tav's face, wondering if she was in denial on purpose, or she truly didn't even suspect why she had her symptoms. She couldn't decide. And if Tav was this upset about Gortash, perhaps she should wait a few days until she pointed it out to her friend that maybe, just maybe, she's carrying a child under her heart. The thought made Shadowheart feel incredibly protective of her. She had to keep an eye on her from now on, at all times. If Tav truly sneaked out of camp at night, she must be vigilant and follow her, in order to keep her safe.

"Maybe." Shadowheart's voice was unusually soft, but Tav didn't really notice. Gortash, though, did, as he was actively listening in. He couldn't see anything through the slate - the Reaper's Embrace was on the floor of the tent, the stone in it facing the tent's ceiling -, but he was glad he could at least hear everything. "We'll see at next full moon."

"Yeah, because having a tadpole in my brain isn't bad enough", Tav chuckled. "Would an illithid still be able to turn into a werewolf?"

"I- didn't want to imagine that, thank you", Shadowheart chuckled.

"A hairy mind flayer-"

"Nooo!" They laughed lightly, but it only lasted for a few seconds. Shadowheart shook her head, patting Tav's back. "When you said you were done with Gortash... what did that really mean?"

"That I wouldn't visit him anymore", Tav shrugged. "Whatever I had with him is over."

"Will we still honour our bargain with him?"

Tav bit her lower lip. Anger aside, she wouldn't bring any harm to him. That was out of the question.

"Yes. We will. We'll bring Orin's Netherstone to him, but I'll ask someone to do it in my stead. Maybe Karlach."

"Would it be possible for you two to... make up?"

"Why?" Tav furrowed her brows, looking Shadowheart straight in the eyes. "Why would I do that? He wanted to blow up kids, for gods' sake. I can't forgive that."

Shadowheart hesitated for a moment. Tav always wanted the best for everyone at camp, even for her; even when she persuaded her to defy Shar, to turn her back on everything she thought she ever cared about. Perhaps she could persuade Tav to reconsider things with Gortash, because if her theory was right, she'd need him. She couldn't stay out here, living in a tent if she was with a child. It was too dangerous.

"Yes, but... I mean, we stopped it. And I'm sure that he... reconsidered his choices since then."

"Pfft, he's a Banite, Shadowheart", Tav scoffed, her stomach turning yet again. She grimaced at the sensation. "I think I was just... I kept forgetting it when I was with him, because he was so different with me. But at the end of the day, he's a tyrant. He doesn't care about anyone else but himself." Tav's voice dropped with sadness. "No matter how much I'd like to believe otherwise."

"And so was I, a Sharran", Shadowheart smiled, "believing that loss was all I had, until you've shown me otherwise."

"You're different", Tav waved her off, no matter how her heart stirred at her companion's words, hope flickering in her mind for a split second, before reality crushed it.

"We can't know whether he'd change for you like I did", Shadowheart offered. "Faith aside, is he anything like Astarion was?" Tav stiffened, and Shadowheart expected it. She wasn't sure if she should push it, but curiosity got the better of her. "Other than leaving hickeys on your neck occasionally..." Tav blushed beet red at this, making Shadowheart smile again. "Did he ever hurt you?"

"No", Tav murmured, her voice honest and firm. "Never." But then, her eyes filled with tears as she glanced at Shadowheart. "Ever since Astarion, I... I couldn't feel safe."

"After what he'd done to you, I'd be surprised if you did", Shadowheart sighed, rubbing Tav's back.

"But whenever I was with Gortash, I could finally stop worrying. He'd... look after me. And the lines blurred for me, you know? Did he propose because he wanted to control me better? Or did he propose because he felt something, anything, for me?"

"Perhaps both", Shadowheart shrugged. "He did say he wanted to rule with you. So the proposal is logical. It could've been a political move, but then..."

"But then?" Tav rested her cheek on her knees, watching Shadowheart as she bit her lower lip from the inside of her mouth for a second.

"But then I saw how he looked at you. Whenever you moved, he moved with you. Even if he was in pain when I saw him with you, he kept you in his peripheral vision. Positioning himself in a way that he could push you back from harm, if needed. And that kiss, in front of all of us?" Shadowheart chuckled again as Tav buried her face in her knees and whined. "There was more to it than just selfish plans for world domination, Tav. You know that, too. That's why this hurts so much."

Tav didn't want to admit that she knew this; at least, with her heart. She hoped she was right about it, but she couldn't be sure, and that was driving her mad. In any case, she tried to push it away from herself.

"Well, he'll forget me. He'll move on. He has the world at his fingertips, and I'm nobody."

Shadowheart would've agreed, but if her theory was correct and Tav was eating for two, she had her doubts Gortash would forget her. If he learned of her condition... who knew what he'd do.

"He's the Archduke now, and he still made time for you in his busy schedule; if it was possible, every night. I'd say, he pretty much wants to be with you. And why would he care now if you had nothing? He offered to split his kingdom with you as soon as he met you."

Tav ran her hands in her hair and pulled on her strands with a whine.

"I can't wrap my head around men, Shadowheart."

"And can you decide what you want?"

"No! I can't! I always make the worst possible decision lately, especially if I do what I want!" Tav protested, releasing her hair and pointing out at the world as she looked at her companion. "Astarion pretty much killed seven thousand spawns just to ascend, and that's on my hands!"

"No, that was out of your hands", Shadowheart furrowed her brows. "You've tried to persuade him not to, but you've failed."

"Yes, I've failed. And thousands died because of me. Innocent people."

"It's endearing you think that everything that happened is your fault, but it was still him who made the final decision. That blood is on his hands, not yours."

"And it's Gortash who's made the final decision to bomb the refugee's children, too. Except, in the latter... there's no otherworldly power Gortash would've acquired. He would've just let it happen because... because he had the power to do so."

"We can't be sure that he knew about that plot."

"He's the bloody Chosen of Bane! He had to know about it!"

"But we stopped it."

"We did. But what if we hadn't?"

"Alright. Imagine this", Shadowheart sighed, "what if… what if you told about it to him, explained that you didn't like it, and asked him to call it off?"

"I don't know", Tav frowned, staring foward. "I honestly don't know."

"That's better than if you thought immediately that he would've said no, right?"

They remained silent for a while.

"And when you confronted him about it... what did he say?"

"Nothing." Tav sniffed and rubbed her aching eyes as new tears gathered in them. "Nothing, Shadowheart. He said nothing. He didn't even stop me when I left."

"I imagine he was shocked that you learned about it", Shadowheart mused. "And even more shocked you could stop other Banites."

"Maybe he's mad at me for killing his friends", Tav shuddered at the thought. "Oh no... that hadn't even crossed my mind until now... but I was so, so angry about it..." She shook her head and felt nauseous again. "He must be mad at me…"

"I have a feeling that if he's mad, he would've let us know already", Shadowheart pointed it out calmly.

"Maybe. But… for some reason, I've been feeling like... it's the calm before the storm", Tav looked concerned. "And I also feel like I'm missing something about it all. As if something is right in front of me, but I can't notice it. I've been feeling so... off... lately..."

Shadowheart bit her lower lip as she was watching Tav, but said nothing about what she suspected about the entire situation. It probably would just make Tav even more stressed out.

"Maybe you just need to blow off some steam", she offered instead with a smile.

"That's actually a good idea", Tav mused, "A back massage would do wonders, I think." Tav rubbed her eyes again. "Yeah. I think I'll get that. Find a dashing lad in Sharess' Caress. Forget about everything that's weighing me down, even if for tonight."

Gortash dropped the slate on the desk so fast that it nearly broke. Her camp was much closer to Sharess' Caress than his office.

He'd need to run.

NATLA Episode 6 - Masks (1/5)

An explanation of what I'm doing here and my history with ATLA.

This is a LONG one, so strap in for many parts. I have essays.

Opening with Zuko's side of The Storm animated episode was amazing. The way the camera starts from behind and Iroh's voice-over talking about masks and former excitement to show the world your true face - before that joy is beaten out of you - was such a strong way to introduce the themes explored in this episode. A new watcher wouldn't initially know that's Zuko, and the shock of seeing him without the scar was a great reveal that this is a flashback. Iroh already stepping into the mentor position with Zuko, helping him with his armor and giving him advice just fleshed out their connection even more. The way Dallas Liu played young Zuko was so great - from the way he walked, how easily he smiled, and even the different inflection of his voice, you immediately saw this was a younger, less tormented Zuko than we had seen before. Which then perfectly seeds in the dread of finding out what turned him from this tolerably happy kid into the surly, hurt boy we've seen in the other episodes.

Zhao's take-over of the Avatar hunt is so good. All the emotions racing across Zuko's face, the way Zhao clearly never respected Zuko and then the crew letting loose their frustration at the way Zuko treats them. Even though we've been primed to 'root' for Zuko (even in the animated series, we had that weird desire to see Zuko beat out Zhao), everyone's reactions to him make perfect sense. Of course Zhao isn't going to see Zuko as an equal - he's 16 years old! And Zuko HAS been treating his crew like shit, so their anger and lack of loyalty to him is justified. The show did such a great job at adding layers even within the ranks of the bad guys.

The Crescent Island looks PERFECT! All the sets are fantastic and I adore how Aang just assumes that even though the sages are fire nation, they'll respect him because he's the Avatar. After all, that's what they're supposed to do - but how Ozai has a tapestry of himself in the temple of the Avatar, we see the hints of how the Fire Nation has been led to treat the Avatar. I really like the addition/clarification in the live-action that the fire lords have placed themselves above the Avatar as the spiritual leader of the world - they've undermined the authority of the Avatar, no doubt due to Sozin's anger at Roku for standing against his bid to colonize the world. Even cultures where religion is seen as all-important, corrupt leaders have no problem co-opting that religious devotion and placing themselves in the position of power and adulation. Of course, as with all societies that try to do that, there will always be those who condemn mortal leader's attempts to usurp the power of the divine and hold to the 'old ways'. Love how we see that in the fire sages and the one who aids Aang - fulfilling the 'true' purpose of their order rather than the twisted one the leaders of the fire nation have turned it into.

Having a devout fire sage collect relics of past Avatars to keep in Roku's temple, I think was a great addition. It also makes a lot more sense to me that Zhao would have easy access to the info (and weapon) needed to kill the Moon Spirit rather than that shlub somehow finding the super hidden library that an archeologist spent YEARS exclusively searching for. While it was a cool foreshadowing of the library in season 2, having Zhao discover the moon and ocean spirit stuff in Avatar Roku's temple in the live-action I think makes more sense. I'll get to why I also think it was a good choice to have to attack them on a specific moon phase with a specific knife once those episodes come around.

The other fire sages truly believing that Ozai is the only one who can 'bring balance' is an interesting philosophical idea that the fire lords have implanted into the culture of the nation - and their ability to skew what 'balance' even means is really great work too. Not to bring Star Wars into this, but when one group tries to dominate the world (galaxy) fully so that they can control everything that happens, that's NOT 'balance' and forces will rise up to upend that system of control. Like Ozai said in episode 3, the way they've all been taught to 'create balance' is actually just an intense form of law and order where they control everything. It's an argument used liberally today that many fall for as well, so clarifying that here in season one instead of waiting all the way to season 3 like the animated show did really grounds the story in reality and lets viewers sit with the lessons and interrogate how they see it happening in their own lives for 3 seasons rather than just a few episodes.

It is a bit iffy world building from the animated show to have Aang only be able to talk with Roku on the solstice in his temple when later in the story, he can just connect to his past selves as long as he's meditating, in their clothes, or in a spiritual place - I think the animated show just really wanted to add in the temple and manufactured a reason for Aang to have to go there specifically on that date in the animated show. Not bad, but also makes the 'connecting to Avatars at their temple anytime' fit with the worldbuilding just fine. Like many first seasons (or books) of series that aren't all pre-written, the world building of early installments is usually a bit shaky and ironed out in later seasons, so I like that they've already started to do that here.

Roku, like Bumi, was another character that they shifted the tone of for the live-action. I think they chose to introduce Roku as a more fun-loving Avatar to really contrast him with Kyoshi (and later Kuruk) as well as most of the adults who've interacted with Aang so far. I think Gyatzo took the role of the more serious mentor that Roku had in the animated show and the live-action Roku really needed to be a stark contrast from the adults in Aang's life who blamed him for what happened with the war. I think they may have overdid the jokey nature of Roku a bit but as we see in the flashbacks with him in season 3 Roku always had been a more fun-loving guy. He does get serious and gives Aang some good advice - even though part of that advice is like Kyoshi's and Kuruk's that Aang needs to be careful about his friends. Though, his advice is distinctly different from Kyoshi's or Kuruk's in that he doesn’t say Aang can't have friends or let them help him, but rather that they can become liabilities and Aang will need to make decisions that sometimes could harm his friends for the sake of the world - not letting the lives of the few outweigh the lives of the many. Including lore about the Mother of Faces (full disclosure, I've never read any of the comics or books, so I just heard about that stuff second-hand) was really cool - and also ties back into the theme about identity and masks this episode is going hard on.

I also love how each of the Avatars Aang talks with have different ways they fulfilled their duties: Kyoshi through force and combat, Roku though diplomacy, and Kuruk through protecting the veil between the spirit world and the material plane. While they each caution about needing to be more than a singular thing, we can see Aang identifying more with Roku and his mention of diplomacy - as evidenced by his plan to use the Mother of Faces statuette to bargain rather than to lure Koh out and use force to try to kill or restrain him as Kyoshi might or further anger him like Kuruk. Aang always leads with kindness and understanding, even to his enemies who've harmed him and his friends. There's no reason for him to immediately jump to giving Koh what he wants, but the fact that that's what he thought of first really says a lot about his character. Yes, he was warned about not being strong enough to 'defeat' Koh, but that he didn't initially think about tricking Koh or trapping him shows us who Aang is - and that same kindness and urge to talk it out with enemies is echoed at the end of the episode with him talking to Zuko.

Removing the comet deadline I think was a smart move for the live-action both for practical and storytelling purposes. It would add a whole lot more things the characters are needing to do prematurely - let's focus on getting to the north and figuring out the Avatar state first, then we can put a timeline on Aang's bending journey, plus irl kids age - it's just a fact of life and it's taken like, 3 years to cast, film, and get this season out onto Netflix and they haven't even started season 2 yet, so who knows how much older the kids will look once we get to season 3. Having Roku instead provide a different take on what the Avatar's personality can be, warning him about friends, and giving him the answer to the issues Aang is facing with the spirit world was justification enough to have him show up the way he did, even if he didn't give Aang the info on the comet.

Though I do miss Roku going apeshit on the fire sages who have forgotten what they're supposed to stand for, I understand through the storytelling aspect why they shifted that and didn't allow Aang to escape the temple unscathed. Again, due to the episodic nature of the animated show, every 20 minutes ends with the characters no longer in danger, having escaped certain doom. That structure doesn't flow when you only have 8 episodes, so continuing the danger from the fire temple right into June having caught up to Aang (like she did in Bato of the Water Tribe in the animated show) makes the story flow better. In the animated series, Aang gets caught as he's zipping around a mountain looking for frozen frogs to heal Sokka and Katara from a fever. Random guards see him, send a message to Zhao, and he sends in the Yuyan archers. For such a pivotal episode as The Blue Spirit is, the events that kick it off don't really connect to much - very episodic in nature. I think having it all connect with Zuko coming THIS CLOSE yet again to capturing the Avatar and regaining his place in the Fire Nation was a good choice.

Love that not only do we combine June into these episodes so it's her skill that once again finds and captures the Avatar, we also get more view points of people around the world through this time of war. In the animated series, much like Suki, June is just there to be hot, useful, and the muscle for the main male leads (plus she was there to be creeped on by Uncle Iroh in what I feel is one of the worst writing of his character of the whole show). The live-action, like with Suki, gave June an actual character - she had motivations and goals that had nothing to do with the male characters and more depth than just 'want money'. She's jaded and accepted the war, she's going to use it for her advantage.

It's also another view we get to see of how people in the world have adjusted to the lack of the Avatar for 100 years. They've had to make do without him, so the fire nation has placed the Fire Lord on that pedestal, and people like June have decided the Avatar isn't really necessary - after all, why would you think they would be if you've lived your entire life without one and have never seen a world where the Avatar does keep balance. It's hard to imagine a fundamentally different world that you've never seen.

The Last bell of the day rings and pearl rushes over to the auditorium for drama club while running she spots scar “SCAR! “ she says practically yelling “w-what is it pearl ?Are you okay?”Scar said a little panicked by pearls sudden screaming. “Yeah I am I just want you to read something.” She says after stopping in front of the auditorium door and pulling out a mess of papers from her bag .”Sure what is it?” Scar said relaxing a little as he realizes that nothing is wrong and he takes the papers from her hand .”It’s a screen play I wrote “Pearl said as scar read over the manuscript “Wow this is really nice ! I love the characters .” Scar proclaimed enthusiastically. Alright perfect time to ask him.”How did you like the love interest Sky?”pearl asked trying to Segway into asking scar to be in the play.”Oh I loved their interactions with Alex they have such good chemistry and some of their dialogue is really funny “Scar said beaming after reading through the text 

“Well then how would you like to play them?” Pearl asked nonchalantly . “Me? Chapter two!!! I got stuck with a sudden urge to write and so here you (: More and more pieces of the story will come into place later on . Btw I’m pretty sure I’m going to call the play Heart of the rising sun in typical romcom fashion .

Support/Good Vibe Request

Hi all, if you've got the time (especially in the next 4 hours or so), I would really appreciate some good energy going to my Dad, Steve, today.

I'm currently catching the bus at the (for me) ungodly hour of 7:30 am to accompany him to a dermatology appointment for a Mohs surgery procedure. Because of the nature of the surgery, it could be an all-day affair, depending on how deep the skin cancer is.

While I'm glad we're in a good enough spot in our relationship that I'm comfortable going with him, I have no clue how this will affect either of us emotionally. He has a friend who will likely come play nurse for him & I plan on seeing Cute Girlfriend tomorrow, so we both have support at least.

Update 1: Made it through the first round and we're nearing the end of the waiting period during which they process and analyze the removed tissue. I'm currently out grabbing us Taco Bell for lunch.

Update 2: He went back for round 2 about an hour ago and we're in the middle of the waiting phase again.

Update 3: They only had to do the 2 rounds of surgery, but now he's in the back having the cosmetic part done to reduce the visibility of the scar. I've now been to the pharmacy twice and in possession of a controlled substance. :P

Update 4: And we're in the car heading home!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I wanted to let you know how much I've been enjoying Perfect Slaughter. I think you do such an inspiring justice to with the sheer horror of abuse, comfort of connection, characterization and extension of the source material in your writing. I've never read a fanfic quite like what you have done and you deserve so much kudos for it!!

Since you have mentioned you're a D&D nerd (same!), I'm curious about your answers to 2 questions about mechanics:

1) Have you thought about the tool or material that could be used to create the inevitable back scars 😞 ? I've noticed in your writing how much you have highlighted how flawless the spawn are once they've fully healed. All I can think of is something relating to a silvered weapon or something made out of infernal iron. I also know you probably can't fully answer this without it being spoiler-y.

2) This is more a game question, but I've had a few back and forths with my "forever DM" partner on this. Does Cazador actually die in BG3? For all my experience playing, I have admittedly never fought a vamp lord on table top. But from what I understand, there are few ways to actually kill them (I know of breaking their resting place or trapping their mist form). If Astarion comes in with a knife during a vamp's healing phase, would that kill them for good? I feel like I'm missing something here.

Haha I did get your previous ask and was actually sitting down to tackle my ask inbox after a crazy week (just moved to a different state), so you have impeccable timing! Thank you so so much for your kind words, I'm endlessly ecstatic to hear that the story is being enjoyed. To answer your questions:

Yes I have thought about this! In canon, Astarion says Cazador used 'his needle' to carve the runes. I indeed have my own fancanon as to how exactly Cazador got them to be permanent and it will come up in Perfect Slaughter!

From what I understand, what Astarion does in canon without any other explanation wouldn't, in fact, kill Cazador for good by dnd law 😂 but bg3 definitely plays hard and fast with the rules when it wants to, so we're left to justify why the vampire lord doesn't just mist form back into his coffin again! Breaking/destroying their resting place, trapping their mist form for two hours, or reducing them to 0 HP while they're in sunlight or running water--ie rivers/lakes/ocean, not a bucket, of course--so they can't go into mist form at all are all viable methods for dnd. If you stake them in their resting place, they're instead incapacitated/paralyzed for a millennia until the stake rots entirely away (or some idiot un-stakes them). Others are welcome to chime in if I've missed something!

Sometimes the gaps and discrepancies between dnd lore and bg3 can be a bit frustrating (and spark some tiresome debates online, lol) but these ones have honestly been fun for me to figure out! Sort of like a puzzle I get to shape the missing pieces into 😊

Anyways, I'm excited for you guys to see what I came up with in future chapters!

Yoongi's music sounds like nothing I've heard anywhere else. Nobody, past or present, sounds like Yoongi.

But if I were to make a rough approximation, I'd say his sound is something close to if Hans Zimmer, Jimi Hendrix, Pop Smoke, and Andre 3000 had a four-way, with Eminem directing and filming the whole affair. The product of whatever that is, is kinda close to Yoongi's core soundscape. In my opinion. Yoongi too, more than any other member, loves infusing Korean texture, sounds, and proverbs, into his music and it’s something I really can’t get enough of. In terms of lyrical focus, he's similar to Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, and Tablo. Also, from the way Yoongi makes music, you can tell that he plays musical instruments. Yoongi's songs are some of the most fun to play on guitar or keyboard/piano. If any of my followers play guitar, I'd like y'all to actually let me know if you've tried playing Amygdala, and tell me how you felt playing it. (You can DM me if you like.) The music Yoongi makes is angst, it's unapologetically emo, and I'm an emo girl who refuses to outgrow this phase. He makes music for people like me. People who want to scream "burn it!" on the disgusting beat he crafted from scratch. Yoongi makes music for carpenters, sluts, philosophers, queers, parents, rebels, misfits, for anybody who finds themselves caring too much about the world around them, and those who sometimes struggle to know themselves.

Anon in ask 3, Yoonmin’s live was the cutest, sweetest, most wholesome and queer interaction I’d seen from the tannies in a good while. I love what they have. Jikook is jikook, but I mean, I actually bias Yoongi. Seeing how he is with Jimin, how he’s always been with Jimin, is impossible for me to ignore. It’s one reason I started paying attention to Jimin in the first place. Anyway, everything about their conversation - the way Yoongi introduced him, the Tony Montana sneak, their mutual barking, the smiles, jokes and stares, the cutting sarcasm and bickering rallies - I’d missed seeing that and I’m glad they shared that moment with us.

I’m really hoping Yoongi is able to keep his health up the whole tour. He goes all out 100% every time he’s on stage, and that would put a strain on even the most fit person alive. His shoulder surgery was ~3 years ago yeah, but he likely still does physical therapy, and excessive use during the tour could strain it again. My hope is for him to be healthy the whole time. And ARMYs who always show up for BTS, being there to be the energy he needs. He deserves all the support he gets.

My favorite game OF ALL TIME is definitely a tie between Pokemon Platinum and Fallout 4! Pokemon Platinum is the first game I ever had that I owned, and Fallout 4... god. I don't know, it's just so good??? Sun Haven is DEFINITELY in spot #2 though.

The game I have the most hours in... hmm. Probably Skyrim. I don't have them recorded because I played it mostly offline, but I know I have well over a thousand hours in it. How many exactly, the world may never know, though...

HMM. This is something I'm still debating! I know at least a year will. Maybe 2. I don't really know the time for each individual game in the series' time frame until I'm in the midst of planning and writing!

The MC WILL meet more Alphas! Actually, they have already, they just... don't know it yet. And yes. MC will indeed be looking into the rumored disappearances of Alphas... it's actually part of the main plotline in Book 4.

Quinn does have some pretty cool scars, with stories linked to each one! To go with the ask for his hobbies, he actually has small scars on his fingers from when he first learned to whittle as a child, and from some mishaps with putting bait on fishing hooks. He has a pretty gnarly scar on his ribs from his youth, when he was only a detective, before he even became his father's deputy. He was investigating the disappearance of a young man, down in a cave not far outside of Armington. He found that the man had been taken captive by a female Arachne... a spider-humanoid creature, and this particular variety has a nasty acid spitting capability. By the time he managed to get himself and the man out, it had eaten through his protective gear and hit the ribs.

As for hobbies though! Whittling, fishing, making sure MC isn't off doing something stupid again, and he likes reading horror or sci-fi books. He's a big fan of Stephen King and James Patterson.

Sylvia absolutely would get matching BFF tattoos with MC! She'd probably try to convince them to get something floral or related to birds in some way.

A BITEY MC... excellent. I'm ngl I would love to affectionately bite. Just a lil nibble.

AAAAAAA I LOVE THAT TROPE! I'm taking this as like crushing phase!

Blake... would be all for it. He'd actually probably snuggle closer and fall back to sleep. He is a very cuddly dude, and he sleeps easier when there's someone else in the room with him, especially someone he's romantically interested in. He might even give MC a very light kiss on the temple.

Loche... oh man. Their heart would be POUNDING and they would feel such an intense longing. They'd curl MC closer to them, gently running their scarred fingers ever so lightly over their face, memorizing every curve and dip. There would be a seed of hope down in their chest that this will eventually be something that happens every morning... if Loche can just tell MC the truth.

Freja would freeze. She wouldn't move an inch, she wouldn't even breathe. It'd take a few long moments for her to gently pry the MC's arm from around her waist and extract herself from the warmth of the covers. She'd cover them back up and proceed to leave them to sleep, her mind still replaying the incident over and over and over again.

Iri is a cuddlebug, just like Blake. They'd MORE than welcome MC cuddled up to them or being cuddled up to MC, even that early into their relationship. Iri would have the BIGGEST grin, then simply go back to sleep.

Adontis would wake, taking a moment to breathe in MC's scent, then realize just how close he is to MC. In fact, they're curled up to his chest, his arm keeping them close. He would softly smile, run his fingers through their hair, before easing his way out of the bed, making sure to pile the pillows around them and tucking the covers to keep the warmth in. It would be a memory he holds close, even deeper into the romance.

Fawn... hmm. She's a hard one. She'd stiffen for a moment, her senses wiring themselves up, before she realized what exactly is going on. She'd slowly relax, especially once her body and mind caught up to each other and she realized how comfortable she is with this. With them. She'd bury her nose in MC's hair and keep them close, until she felt them starting to wake. She'd move away, back to her side of the bed, and pretend to be sleeping.

A romantic date night....

Blake is a simple man, which I'm sure you've all figured out by now. He'd probably make dinner and have it outside on a cool but not chilly evening, fresh flowers on the center of the table, and he'd be waiting outside for the moment MC got home. He'd be close all through dinner, and would want to curl up on the couch with MC after, holding them close to his chest. Now, I can't say that when they get to the bedroom it's still gonna be all romantic and whatnot, but he does have their favorite candles on the nightstands and the dresser, and he washed all the bed linens and put fresh ones on. Simple man.

I'm going to be honest, Loche doesn't know much about romance. They're trying to learn, to figure things out for MC, because they want to know how humans show affection and love, so they can give that. They would rely heavily on the team for help, and would eventually decide to do something similar to Blake: Loche would ask Freja to help them make a dinner that is fitting for 'romance' (and Freja would be happy to help, she finds it very sweet and also she's a big romantic herself), have the table set with rose petals leading to it from the door, and probably would take Iri and Adontis's advice to offer MC a massage with warm oil.

Freja, Ms. Big Romantic at Heart, who loves her romance novels to bits... would have to wage war against her crippling social anxiety and fears of [redacted] to do the very best she can. She would have Adontis screen and handle calls for the night, so she can plan her method of attack. I can without a doubt say a hot bubble bath with MC's favorite candles and scents would be part of the night, MC's favorite meal cooked to perfection, and the two of them curling up together on the couch to pick back up on the show they've gotten super behind on. Lots of affection, starting slow as Freja relaxes.

Iri, Iri, Iri... definitely would take MC out to their favorite restaurant, and get them whatever the wanted, no holds barred. And when they get home? There's a full-body, sensual massage waiting for MC with oil and Iri's very warm, big, capable hands.

Adontis... I'm sure it's not surprising that Adontis is a man with expensive tastes. He would buy out the most beautiful point of whatever city or town they're in, have whatever meal MC would like whipped up to perfection, and he'd break out some of his oldest wines. Gentle music playing, the soft sounds of the night creatures, and talking. His hand would migrate to MC's thigh for most of the dinner, and when he gets them home... well. He's worshiping them until well into the wee morning hours, for however long they can handle.

Fawn. God, Fawn's questions are really making me think! Hmm. I definitely know she'd steal one of Adontis's finer wines, a sweet red, and would get flowers that remind her of MC to give to them. She'd have them two gifts: a painting she did of them that's probably not one MC would want the general public seeing, but it's not exactly sexual... just shows MC, through and through, how Fawn sees them; and something more utility-wise, like a knife she made herself or something to keep MC from harm. She's not one for romance, but she'd try to make sure MC knew how she feels about them, and would probably ask them what they wanted to do.

HMMMM, what stage is this? Crushing? Middle of the road? I'll do middle of the road.

Blake would probably nearly choke on his beer, but mostly from surprise. He's not been called a boyfriend in goddamn ages, and here is someone he's really wanting to be with yelling that that's what he is. He'd look between MC and the person pestering them, put two and two together, and go into Big Angry Werewolf Sort-Of-Kind-Of-Boyfriend mode. Very scary if you're on the receiving end, I mean, Blake was a biker for pretty much all of his 'human' years, and he never got out of the ruffian habits.

Loche doesn't socialize much, and the boyfriend/girlfriend/partner stuff is still something they're learning. Like, they know the baseline meaning, but hearing MC call them it wouldn't immediately spark something. Instead, they'd read the exasperation on MC's face and the blatant interest on the pesterers... and. Well. Loche is a lot scarier than Blake, as Loche does not go by the normal societal rules, and was instead brought up in a world where if someone is bothering the person you're involved with... well, sometimes it ends in the death of one of them.

Freja would freeze. Statue-level freeze; not a single part of her body would move, except her eyes. Her mind would be running wild, her heart beating rapidly, but her eyes would be taking in the scene before her. And she'd realize what exactly is going on. When her mind can get over the being called "girlfriend" bit, she'll haul ass over in her very prim and elegant manner, and make this annoyance feel lesser than a fly.

Iri would grin IMMEDIATELY. And would not take the aggressive stance. Oh, no, Iri likes a more... fun approach to things. So they'd swagger over, wrap their arm around MC's waist, and kiss their cheek and ask what all the fuss is about. Meanwhile, staring at the annoying person with such a cold look that they feel nailed in place.

Adontis... is a gentleman in all things. Except when the romance between him and MC starts to grow. Then, well, disrespecting MC is like slapping him in the face. And Adontis does not deal well with being disrespected. He'd give MC a warm smile and crook a brow, before coming to tower over the annoying person... and let them get a glimpse of just what his vampiric form can really look like. Needless to say, they'd be scared shitless.

And last but not least in any way, Fawn would not handle this with any grace. No, Fawn is a lot like Loche in her thinking, and the moment she sees how uncomfortable MC is? Her vision is going red. And she's planning to give one threat to the annoying person... and if they don't take the hint? She'll give them an asswhoopin' that they'll be smarting from for months to come. If she doesn't just y'know. /eyes emoji/
