Denver con just happened it was the 1st of July to the 3rd!! I also got to wave at the VA for all might cause He was like right across the ‘street’ as my sister and I kept calling the path ways, and he waved and gave me a big smile, it was so fun! Plus I’m like 99.9% sure Clifford’s wife was there (idk if those two got official married yet) I had totally forgot she’s also a VA. The only thing I regret is not asking Clifford about the character he voices in Genshin because it would have been so funny to ask him about it! Dabi’s VA was also there and Tsuyu, there was quite a few famous VA’s there that I was down to meet but Clifford was the #1
Okay okay question for you: favorite manga and why? I love listening/reading people talk about their favorite things <33
OH WOW COOL!!! i was at anime expo those days!!! it was a big con weekend, huh?
that sounds like so so so much fun!! was it just english VAs there or were the Japanese ones present as well? bc personally... my favorite VA in the entire world is shimono hiro who voices Dabi in japanese. he is very so my favorite. i can recognize his voice instantly LMFAO. IM SO GLAD U HAD FUN THERE THOUGH!!!
ahhh okay so my favorite manga in the entire world is blue flag. it's got 8 volumes and is complete meaning i can read it over and over and over again and look for foreshadowing. i think I've read it three times and it never fails to floor me. i haven't met a lot of people who have read it but it is genuinely such a treat to read and has such beautiful art.
as for why its my favorite... there are so many reasons. firstly, the manga is a romance and a slice of life, but it's also more than that. it's perfectly character driven and the plot is interesting while still maintaining the qualities that make slice of life and seinen so appealing.
it also deals with a lot of topics about identity, queer or otherwise, and the entire story is centered around changing your mind. its about pivotal times in your life and the pressure to make the right choice. the manga focuses a lot on how decisions in your last year of high school sort of feel like the end of the world before you realize that it is only human to change. it's about changing your mind and being who you are and loving who your love.
the main character, taichi, is honestly one of my favorite seinen protagonists. he's somewhat quiet and comes across a little timid. he struggles awkwardly with his feelings and his identity and it just hits so close to home for me. i can't really say much else without spoiling so ill hold my tongue (but feel free to ask for the spoiler-free version bc i have a LOT to say).
plus, this manga was written to directly circumvent the annoying miscommunications that happen in so much shojo manga. the characters actually talk to each other and communicate and there are now irritating miscommunications that could have been avoided with a conversation. the characters have those conversations and actually behave the real people.
it's just such a lovely story of identity and discovery and being young and queer. it's fantastic.

i really dont like using my blog to vent or complain cause idk thats not what social media is about to me its just a space to be silly about the things i like. that being said. im just gonna do a mini vent in the tags abt smth that isnt even half as serious as im making it sound
#Listen. i found live action Zoro jarringly serious and edgy at times. Very juvenile. But its very telling to me that the ppl complaining-#-the loudest abt his characterization and scenes with luffy are the same zosan shippers constantly putting him down in their works#genuinely every other fic is filled to the brim with characters constantly talking down to him like a toddler and mocking him#and even telling Sanji shit like omg youre so brave for being in love with him it must be so difficult#and suddenly as a reader Im not rooting for the relationship im rooting for Zoro to get better friends#so like are you guys SURE opla zoro is this edgy oc or does it seem that way bc you flanderize him just as much in the opposite direction#taking his goofy scenes and exaggerating them to make him seem barely functional#when in the anime he IS competent and people trust him and find him very cool when he drops badass lines all of the sudden#sometimes he even actively tries to be cool and edgy. its not rare or unheard of. we were all there when he started posing in the wax#its the execution of these traits in the LA that seem juvenile and jarring and OOC but lets not pretend like the guy youd find-#-on ao3 is better written or accurate to animanga zoro at all. the criticism itself is valid but from some zosan guys it sounds silly#youll notice casual or non shipper fans tend to rlly like LA Zoro and thats because fanon can truly TRULY be a disease#i’ve had this opinion of fanon zoro for a while but just seeing him pitted against opla zoro really brought back my unhappiness with him#if i had to pick between the two of them…

THEORY TIME THEORY TIME
ok. so. first of all FYODOR FCKIN DOSTOEVSKY I LIKE U AND ALL BUT???? REMAIN DEAD??? U JESUS FR??
ANYWAYS ignoring that
so bc i adore skk to hell and back obviously im gonna explore their dynamic first
what kills me is how familiar they are with each other. they arent insulting each other in every sentence, which is still alright. and what struck me the most is how much dazai seems to trust chuuya. more so than anyone.
so far we know that dazai isn't exactly the most open person around. his entire cheerful joking persona is a facade, a fake. what you see is usually only what he wants to show you. his real emotions? ive only seen them very rarely, if at all. now look at these
Tumblr media
the way chuuya says what he does implies that he is already used to this habit of dazai's, which is only possible if dazai did this in his mafia days, AND even then, he was open and willing enough to let chuuya see it and know that dazai was anxious. which means that even before mersault, before dazai left the mafia, he and chuuya atleast were that close that the usually closed-off, know-everything demon prodigy could show his worry to his partner, multiple times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think that over here, dazai really isnt hiding his emotions. you can see the shock and worry on his face and in his eyes clearly as he puts the pieces together. not only that, hes also laying out parts of his plan to chuuya, in addition to his theories. which he rarely does unless im wrong about that (its possible). he isnt worried about chuuya using his emotions and weaknesses against him, because he trusts him enough, although i think the trust between them was already shown when both of them fake-killed each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
its easy to see the panic in his eyes, and personally i feel that this is him showing a bit of weakness, which is perfectly alright. the thing is that again, hes letting chuuya see this. I very much doubt that he would have let down his facade enough to show this to absolutely anyone else.
Tumblr media
also the poor guy literally looks so stressed out here give him a goddamn break asagiri
aaaaand now chuuya.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
now what strikes me is that even in the last chapter/s, chuuya has multiple times tried to reassure dazai that fyodor is indeed dead to try and calm down dazai's worries. this can also be him also wanting a damn break but anyways.
Tumblr media
and these panels. while many ppl are agreeing that hes just sitting there being a pretty boy while dazai tows through helicopter debris (and i agree), and definitely chuuyas sadistic streak when it comes to dazai is showing itself clearly, its often been seen in both the official arts and animanga that whenever working together, chuuya always covers dazai's blind spots.
think about it. dazai has his back turned towards everything. if someone launched a surprise attack on him at this moment, the chances of him dodging, finding out abt it in time is pretty low. chuuya is directly behind dazai. i got this idea from another post i saw, but what if this is also chuuya covering for dazai yet again? protecting him?
anyways thats it folks maybe ill make another post on jesus- i meant fyodor soon

I watched film gold the other day and it's been making me think about luffy's relationship with food wrt zoro and how it's been presented in different OP media.
Aside from the importance the riceball incident holds for the animanga and OPLA, luffy's specific reaction to zoro's injuries after the mihawk duel in the latter is so good. although the LA won't touch luffy's full backstory for a while, it's obvious he loves food in both the usual goofy manner and as something he associates with kindness or a lack thereof. it's why zoro eating the riceballs and sanji feeding gin is important in both iterations of the story. and not only that, OPLA also directly links luffy's appetite to his mood/feelings - when kid!luffy gets sad about shanks's upcoming no-return departure, makino goes out of her way to point out something's really wrong after luffy says he's not hungry. as it is, OPLA used this character trait of luffy's again to highlight how affected he is by seeing zoro (who, at that point, luffy hadn't considered could lose) truly hurt for the first time.
Tumblr media
From I'm not really hungry right now, Nami amidst his rising panic, refusing sanji's food, admitting he'd eat his arms and legs to save zoro's life (in the context of what happened to zeff and sanji) and my gut hasn't been so great lately, the message is clear: luffy is not only worried about zoro's wellbeing, he's also very, very upset and willing to go crazy lengths if it means saving zoro. plus, if you watch the LA knowing about sabo and ace, imo it emphasizes further why seeing zoro in such a state makes luffy feel/act the way he does and how much he cares for zoro to react like that to begin with. I love it. I also love that though he rejects the food for himself, luffy admits while rambling that he wants zoro to eat and asks sanji to prepare food he believes zoro would like, even if he quickly concludes letting him rest is probably the best option instead.
That last part brings me to thriller bark, in the manga. It's not food per se and it's portrayed less seriously, but he still tries to have zoro - unconscious and wounded after You Know What - drink an entire barrel of booze because luffy knows how much he loves it (as much as luffy loves meat) and believes it will make zoro wake up/feel better. comedic as it may be intended to be, it's also kinda sweet. luffy's shown more than a few times to recuperate ridiculously fast and in an equally ridiculous manner from injuries by eating meat, so this is luffy's own way to show how much he cares and that he wants zoro to be well again imo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also brings me to the start of thriller bark itself! luffy's offered to share his food before (with nami, for example), yet ig what stood out to me during this part is how he just... offers to share his lunch with zoro simply because luffy wants him to come along. luffy rarely makes that sort of offer for specifically mundane reasons, so. squints.
Tumblr media
(the fact that zoro fell right for it is so. lmao.)
And as for film gold - albeit not canon as most of the OP movies are, it's still interesting. for once, it's zoro who ends up in need of rescue. after the whole ordeal with tesoro capturing zoro and pushing the straw hats to try and buy his freedom before the public execution, luffy seeks out food.
Tumblr media
And when usopp remarks zoro is more important than that? luffy immediately agrees, but insists that's precisely why he needs to eat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a fun contrast to OPLA luffy though I'd say not necessarily a contradicting one. whereas there's little OPLA luffy can do wrt zoro's injuries, film gold luffy can't afford not to eat because here he needs to be at peak strength to rescue him. I like that the movie showed luffy's frustration too,
Tumblr media
and how far he'd go to save him: jumping into a duct that's filled with "vicious golden bats" no one's survived from and launching himself straight against a moving, giant sea prism stone ventilation fan (all related to rescue plan) that franky has to bodily drag him away from before he gets more seriously wounded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Quite a reminder luffy's pretty crazy about zoro too!)
All in all, food is a very important aspect of luffy's character whether it's for a comedic or serious effect. though it's made more relevant in the WCI arc, I still love how it's something you can see portrayed in his relationship with zoro throughout OP too, be it in the animanga, the LA or in movies as well.

One of the most interesting things about OPLA that I've seen is that people seem to like this version of Sanji way more in regards to how he acts towards women, saying this is how you make Sanji more likable, that here he is a "smooth, respectful flirt" while in reality, he still is very much a benevolent sexist lmao just in a different, more digestible way? It's all good when he's "smooth" and not "cringe", I guess? Another interesting thing is how people, especially women, either seem to find his behaviour extremely endearing or extremely uncomfortable, which are both just as valid and that will be the eternal "problem" with his character, since while a lot of women would love him to treat them like goddesses, a lot of women dislike the fact he keeps on insisting doing so, even when they have expressed they are uncomfortable with it. It's still very much up to personal preference, but it's just kind of hilarious when it literally is the same concept but in a different way. I VASTLY prefer animanga Sanji, at least he's really funny even though he can be… questionable at times lol Taz killed it though, he put in an amazing effort and I couldn't be more impressed, I'm just sad the script is what it is lol
Okay so my friend said something I didn't even consider which was "The reason I love anime/manga Sanji is because men just aren't like this, I have no uncomfortable, real world experiences with a man like Sanji because his way of flirting is just over the top and nonsensical to the point it's harmless and cute."
And like, she's right lol. You're not gonna go into a bar or restaurant and have a man get on his knee, offer you a rose, spin around the table ten times and shout to the heavens about how the gods have blessed him with a gem LMAO. It's purposefully ridiculous, but this new version of Sanji is...somewhat uncomfortable to me? Cause the issue is, I am by no means attracted to Taz LMAO. Don't get me wrong he's a fine man, and I'm not calling him ugly, I'm just rarely attracted to irl men lol. So people who are attracted to Taz see him wink and say "my apologies madame 😏" and they swoon, but it just reminds me of weird nights I've had in bars where a guy was trying too hard on me and wouldn't get the memo hhh
Taz is a good actor I just wish this script wasn't what it was, like god I would've loved to see Taz twirling around and his jaw dropping from Nami's beauty or something. Instead his Sanji has this weird atmosphere the common guy in a bar would have and it's genuinely more cringe to me but not in an endearing way, it's just personally not for me at all hhh

I remembered u like jjk so I'm gonna ask... What made you like jjk v much <3
this line
Tumblr media
shounen animangas are notoriously known for having teenage characters be put through literal hell in order to triumph evil and save their friends, and the trope remains popular because it is so entertaining. perhaps it's the unwavering hope and naivety becoming hardened determination that is appealing in these stories. i used to enjoy this genre a lot as a kid, but after a while watching highschoolers fight to survive wasn't as exciting as it once seemed to be.
but jjk is so popular, so i am watching it, and this arc begins. we are introduced to nanami, who is a surprisingly silly guy despite his general demeanour, and i already love itadori, so i was excited to see this dynamic. immediately you could tell this arc was set for itadori to fail and learn a valuable lesson, to which nanami will probably enlighten him about.
i just didn't expect the lesson to be this.
sure, there are many other stories about people acknowledging the main group are children, realising they're not strong enough for this task, and that we should've looked after them better, it's not their fault, we expected too much and hurt them, but very rarely are these grievances 1) expressed in a way that doesn't make the child in question feel guilt for their lack of maturity and 2) be stated so bluntly TO the child themself.
nanami clearly teaches itadori that he is a child, and nanami is the adult, and so itadori shouldn't be expected to carry out the jobs nanami is responsible for, because he is just a child, and that is okay. no metaphorical or symbolic talk about strength and dreams and growing up. just the fact of the matter;
being a child is not a sin.
it's after this did i realise that this has been the point of the entire story the whole time.
to me, jjk is a story about children. children who are doomed by their fate and their circumstances. children who are forced into roles and responsibilities they don't want and can't handle. children who are no longer children, but much older, trying to stop other kids from following their steps — to no avail. this world they are born into is written against them from the start and they still get hurt. they are all still hurting.
although this moment is vital for itadori specifically, and no one could've delivered it to him as good as nanami did, i think the line is applicable to the dozens of other children in the story as well. nanami as a character is someone who now strives to protect all these children, because there was no one to protect him and his friends, and this moment (and the many others of his that follow) really make him one of the greatest characters for this specific story.
although this line and entire conversation is what really made me go from liking the anime to loving it, this entire arc in general was fantastic. even without knowing nanami's past, we understand there is a cycle of hurt and loss, really highlighting the question about responsibility and choice. it was superbly written (no wonder nanami is gege's favourite character!).
in fact after watching this arc i immediately started reading the manga, and then upon taking a long mental health break after shibuya, i am now reading it again for its finale. although jjk has kind of... lost the plot now, i continue to read for itadori, curious to see what destiny awaits a child who is forced to keep losing.

Since I'm in Otherside Picnic mode, the adult-who-looks-like-a-kid trope is usually one of my least favorite animanga tropes, but with Kozakura I forget that's supposed to be a thing with her because it's so perfunctory and has so little to do with what her character actually is? She avoids all the grossest parts of that trope. A lot of the characters in anime who are Like That just feel like they're just checking off a moe list and rarely come off like they're actually adults- it's basically an excuse to have someone who acts like (or at least talks) like a child but hey it's okay to... you know.
But Kozakura does come off as an adult, and in fact everything about her personality is colored by being a world weary adult. She's blunt and rude but not in a cutesy way, she's very cynical, she's a hard drinker but again not in a cutesy way, she's always griping about how young and stupid Toriko and Sorawo are, she's clearly the most mature of the group and the most experienced when it comes to life, people and relationships, and she doesn't even like kids. The narrative also doesn't dwell a lot on the contrast between her appearance and her actions- rather if it's mentioned she looks younger than she is she'll talk about the annoying parts of it, like how she has trouble with clothes or getting home, or, my absolute favorite, when she switched to a taller avatar for her secret V-tuber hobby after noticing gross guys were starting to follow her, and then during one session she had a drink and ended up drinking through her avatar's boobs. Not only is it a geniinely funny boob joke (a rarity), it also explicitly says Kozakura thinks people who are interested in her because she looks like a child are disgusting.
Because it's a novel and I don't see her, and because Kozakura is genuinely written like the cranky, older and wiser adult mentor, I even forget this trope is a part of her character until a joke like that comes up. But as much as I don't mind it compared to other examples, I would honestly rather it not be in the story since again, it's so perfunctory it really adds nothing (besides the boob drinking joke, but that would have worked just as well if she was simply short). Because it feels so divorced from the rest of her character, I wonder if Miyazawa just threw it in because it's a popular anime trope. Who knows. But it made me realize a lot of my problem with the characters isn't just the ickiness of the premise, but because they're written like cutesy moe machines or flat tsunderes, whereas Kozakura is written like an actual person.

Do you have top favorite character (or characters, if you feel like listing multiple) of all time from any media (animanga, tv series/cartoon/movies, books, etc)? Why love them?
Late reply cuz I kinda forgot abt this one hahah (٥↼_↼)
But oh do I have a LOT of them.
Starting off...
Bakugou Katsuki and Izuku Midoriya (MHA): they're amazing as a ship in their own right but as characters their both so deep and interesting with many layers and nuances interlaced between them.
Mikage Reo (Blue Lock): aside from easily getting attached to characters the fandom hates for no legit reason *coughs in Bakugou and Takemichi* he's literally the most perfect, precious cutie patootie. Not only that he's WIFE MATERIAL which is something instantly found attractive about him, the things I think about OMG (๑♡⌓♡๑)
Dante (Devil May Cry): I was fifteen and he was the coolest video game character I ever saw. Couldn't tell you which of the games tho, only watched and commented while my brother played. I did watch a few episodes of the anime but it's been so long I don't remember if I liked or hated it.
Ryomen Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen): We love a chaotic king, like yasss bitch, kill those innocent civilians yayyy!!!
Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter): Blond and bitchy just the way I like em.
Sano Manjiro (Tokyo Revengers): How are you the best fighter but oozing such bratty bottoms energy I love him!!!
Tyki Mikk (D.gray Man): He's a keeper when he can literally reach into your chest to stop your heart, sorry I don't make the rules (^^)
Kuroko Tetsuya (Kuroko no Basket): I'm rewatching the anime and why is he low-key so funny??? Aside from that drama just follows him constantly and I'm so down that.
Sung Jinwoo (Solo Leveling): Daddy and babygirl. The ultimate combo.
Ash Lynx (Banana Fish): *bursts into tears*
Yato and Yukine (Noragami): They're the only reason I considered picking up the manga when I realized there was probably no third season coming. Like I need to know how they're doing but I'm so lazy. They bounce off each other so well and I don't think I can like one without the other.
Lu Guang (Link Click): he came back in time for his boyfriend?!??! Season 3 where are you?!?!! (〒﹏〒)
Benimaru (Reincarnated as a Slime): Red haired, ogre Daddy.
Chloe Decker (Lucifer): I have a problem liking female characters cuz many of them rarely stick with me but I love her, she's cool, and in my honest opinion very well written.
Kaburagl T. Kotetsu aka Tiger (Tiger and Bunny): We stan single fathers with washed up energy. All he needs is a tall, blond brat to push his buttons.
Natsusa Yuzuki (Number 24): He's so sassy and dramatic I need him as my bestie ASAP. All that while having the whole cast wrapped around his fingers, truly the embodiment of gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss. I don't care if you disagree.
Lloyd Frontera (Greatest Estate Developer): The only taskmaster I'd willingly serve, they call him ugly I call him 'Sir'. Maniac???where?? All I see is a man trying to get his bag and be happy.
But that's all from me babes, those are all the characters I can think of off the top of my head. Mainly got to this cuz I don't think I'll make any real fan or shipping post this cuz I've got art and deadlines to attend to. Hoped anon likes my answers and I'll get to answer more questions like this.

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER.
REPOST DO NOT REBLOG !!
Tumblr media
NAME: bellaaaaaaaaaa. bella for short
PRONOUNS : she/her but they/them if ure unsure is also coolio
PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : bad on all front, but discord slightly less so
NAME OF MUSE(s) : god, i have so many. feel free to browse <3
BEST EXPERIENCE : when i first entered the animanga rpc i had a really, really good time from the get-go ngl. for a while, right until my revival in 2024, i was sort of more into the 'western / live action' side of the rp media, and i kept remembering how much of a good time i had in the animanga rpc, which triggered my interest in returning.
my other best experience is basically when i learn from my dearest mutuals then how not to be afraid to project ur muses' voices into their narration, which allowed me to have incredible fun with exercising different mindset and speech patterns and/or different dialects since!
RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : uhhh this is pretty specific to my experience and quite particular — thus i hope to elaborate it well — but i highly dislike when writing partners tried crafting our threads into only benefiting / leveraging their own muse(s) rather than it being a collaborative effort for both our muses' character development. this happened to me only ... twice so far ? so it's quite rare considering i've been writing for ten years, but i'm suuuuper sensitive about this.
so for example right, what usually happens is me and my writing partner would talk about our muses and we see common ground and where we could expand on a point of conflict. both our muses then benefit from this point of thread because the narrative we've written ought to challenge their perspective, and this can be driven with angst, drama, whatever genre this can be explored in etc.
now what i'm pointing out specifically is when the writing partner would only try to have their own muse's emotions and challenges on the forefront of the plot, with no consideration to mine, which i think defeated the purpose of roleplaying in entirety because roleplaying especially is supposed to be a collaborative effort for all writers involved. but no, it's their muse's pain that's significant. it's only their suffering that outweighed everyone else's, and my character typically is became an "affirmation" or a "booster" to their muses' experience.
i have a few turn-off's but this one is definitely one of the highest.
MUSE PREFERENCES: oh maaaan, i've written characters from sooo many ranges. typically it's whoever tickled my brain at the moment <333 but lately i do realise i'm often drawn to
(1) outwardly soft-looking people (2) have crazy dedication value; sometimes absurdly loyal to a cause / person (3) most of the time they're brown-haired and/or dark-haired (4) a lot of them give earthy and/or green vibe
and if it's the opposite, it's either someone struggling with their temper and/or have their viewpoint challenged or exploited. don't believe me, check out my western multi as well to see where i'm ticking the boxes. ( i'm on hiatus there but still. look at the muses. )
PLOTS OR MEMES : fuuuuuuck. i'm super bad with first-time plotting not gonna lieeeee. listen, my attention span's crap. my method is usually this: we plot minimally ( usually to establish the timeline and/or where our muses stand ) and then i prefer winging the first thread, usually to gauge the pace of the writing, ur muses' thoughts and/or reactions so mine could bounce off of yours, and then i'd rain in your IM / discord to yap my way into ur heart 🫶 i looove when my mutuals would yap at me right back. i love substances, and i love context. i love knowing what my partners want to achieve or what they're satisfied / dissatisfied with so we can work around that. so yes, thread > plot > memes.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : wish i'm a short-replier. born a long-replier. working on making my paragraphs more concise though. that's on my 2024 writing bingo for sure!
BEST TIME TO WRITE : when i want to 💀  and i have no idea when. usually when i'm rested enough so if i'm dead tired on friday, there's a chance i'll still be ghosting the dash on saturday. i try not to........ push myself so hard on my availability, which is why it's important i stress out how i am a low-activitiy blog, because i know that even if i push myself when i don't want to, it won't work. my brain would dead-ass refuse to cooperate.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : i'm definitely flawed, which is something i like exploring with my muses, because i think i've tried so hard since i was 15 to be perfect. that isn't to say my characters and i share the same flaw, but unlike in real life, exploring my characters' area of weaknesses and how that can have its consequences is perhaps a catharsis for me since i could safely navigate it within a narrative i could ( somewhat ) control. it's freeing. writing has always been freeing in that sense.
tagged: @dynmghts and @ingen1um ( u sexy people muaah <3 ) tagging: @fighterbound , @bladedhunter , @kiigan , @senjufound and whoever that wants to it !!!!!

Personally I don’t really get people who say they acknowledge Sasuke and Naruto’s romantic bond but still ship Sasuke with a woman… Like, they saw that he was gay (he’s shown to not be attracted to women so he’s not bi) but kinda don’t care?
Actually I don’t really understand the whole shipping culture, or even mainstream fandom culture… I don’t know, I just don’t see the point in just making up content for pre-existing characters while completely destroying what made the characters unique in the first place by ignoring canon entirely (like crack-shipping). I get why people wouldn’t like everything about canon, it’s my case too, but if they don’t like anything about canon… Why are they here in the first place?
Nooo now I sound grumpy. I must be bothering you I’m so sorry 😭😭
Anyway, you’re amazing and I hope you know it 🥰
You don't sound grumpy to me dw 🫶
Well, I don't believe such ships have much to do with Canon either way. And I doubt all of them hate Canon per se, though some change 'Canon' to like Canon, which is funny. "This is my Canon." Yeah, not how it works, but ok- have your Canon your way ofc ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
Side-note though, I don't think Sasuke even knows who Hinata is? 😆 It's as you say; crack-shipping. (I saw that giant/small-yaoi meme here on Tumblr again. No idea what it's called, and immediately thought; a yes, Sukuna and Levi. Kinda want to draw xD Makes no sense at all.) A lot of Headcanon is derived from personal... ideas/desires/inspiration or self-inserting reasons? (Isn't that exactly what 'x-reader' fics are?) Or even trend-posting. As much as characters are used to tell a story for the original author/creator (they're essentially tools), do fans use them to create new ideas. "Ah yes, we all know this character, let's create something around it simply because I want to." Which is completely fine, right? Look at rare pairs. And to be fair, a lot of content, fictional writing and art aren't even based on canon either. The closest thing through fan-work are Manga analyses or meta's, even panel redraws- stuff like that. People adapt 'canon' into fanwork through various degrees or sometimes ditch it altogether. Nsfw/spice is by default made up and entirely Headcanon :') (Though personality can be depicted in a way ig, through expression/behavior and whatnot.)
I totally get what you mean though, although I guess I'm caught up in fandom-culture now. Personally, I do like characters as 'canon' as possible, but it really depends. For some Animanga I don't really care. I think I ship pretty much all TR/BlueLock-characters for literally no reason, but I wouldn't claim it to be Canon in any way (˚☐˚! )/
However, I don't like it when Naruto and Sasuke's characters are butchered. Made-up context or not. The originals are so special to me and it's the reason why I'm a fan, though I don't mind too much in fics, depending on the story. I find it hard to feel the same when they've practically become someone's OC's with only the same name and design. I can't even read height/age-differences because I can't imagine it xD But anyway, this all includes "official" work made for financial/marketing reasons also- especially those damn novels. Those never have anything to do with canon, nor does it align with it. No matter how passionately people claim otherwise.
I'm only a tiny bit petty about it >< u&me grumpy 🤝 And aahhww I don't actually, you should see me sitting here in giant red Christmas socks and a glittery green sweater that's kinda itchy tbh. I don't really feel anything other than those glitters annoying me every 3 seconds... which reminds me I should change -.- anw thankyou <3

▶️🎉1 Year on YouTube ▶️ 🎉
Today marks my 1 year anniversary of being a YouTuber. When I started creating Kodocha videos, I never expected to make so many new friends and gain so many subscribers who feel just as passionately as I do about the series.
Thank you ALL.
Not only did I become a YouTuber last year, but I also became a wife and an official resident of a new state in the US. 2022 was a big, and difficult year for me. With all the changes and adjustments going on around me, it was comforting knowing that I had the Kodocha community to go back to each day.
So what inspired me to create a Kodocha channel? There are many reasons, so let’s talk about them! First of all, Kodocha is my favorite animanga series, and sadly there isn’t many Kodocha content creators online. However, the ones that do exist do such AMAZING work for this fandom. I want to give a shout-out to my friend Li over on Twitter (https://twitter.com/kodomonomochaa) for her incredible work gathering Kodocha media and resources for fans to enjoy. She has been a big part of my channel’s growth and is just a sweet person all around. Make sure to give her a follow on all her platforms!
I also want to give a shout-out to @thekodochaarchive, another great resource for fans to see rare content. There is a lot of interesting rare Kodocha media over on that blog/channel, I highly recommend checking it out! Watching the old Kodocha commercials is like being able to go back and time and experience Kodocha at the time when it was first being aired. I would have loved to have been a kid who grew up with that show!
Last but certainly not least, I want to give a HUGE shout-out to my girl @dailykodocha aka M, who runs the BEST Kodocha blog around and writes INCREDIBLE fanfiction. Please go and check out her fic about Akito during the middle school years; it’s SO good and she gets the characters so well. It feels like it could be an official Kodocha novel. Here’s the link to that! (https://archiveofourown.org/works/41971272?view_full_work=true) She also co-hosts our unofficial Kodocha podcast, “19 O’Clock News” with me. We have so much fun with it, and I look forward to sharing many many many more episodes with everyone!
So wanting to contribute more to a series I deeply love, I decided to create my YouTube channel, as I noticed there weren’t really any video essays about Kodocha anywhere. This felt wrong given how much there is to talk about with the series, and how deep the characters are.
Many of the videos that you’ve watched from me for most of 2022 were formulated from ideas I’ve had in my head since I first saw the series back in 2016. That’s why I was uploading almost weekly, as the writing flowed so naturally as I’d had a lot of time to think about the characters and plot.
I’m very proud of all the content I have put out thus far - but I will keep improving! I’ve been re-reading the series and am about to finish volume 10, and noticed some things that I should have talked about in previous videos. It’s crazy just how detailed Obana was when she wrote Kodocha! Just when I think I understand a character, I notice a new detail during a read-through and it completely shifts my perspective on them. I used to feel very indifferent about Fuka until pretty recently! Now she is becoming one of my favorite characters.
Another reason I started my channel was for my mental health. Being creative is what keeps me sane. Unfortunately, making music (my main creative hobby) just didn’t have the same spark for me anymore. It used to be my go-to activity for my mental health - but I think I had done it for so long that I got burned out. Also, I felt very limited in what I could do with music, but with my channel, I feel like I can exercise and hone my writing skills and also talk about something I love in a unique way. This summer, I created a second channel which I hope to upload more content on that focuses on obscure media, which I will use as another outlet to discuss things unrelated to Kodocha. I watch YouTube more than anything and would love to create similar content to YouTubers that I enjoy, where they talk about interesting things from childhood or just niche internet mysteries.
Kodocha is the only thing in my life that has ever consistently brought me joy. Ever since I found the series, it’s turned my life around in more ways than one. When I first watched the anime in 2016, it made what could have been a miserable year for me into something hopeful. Sana’s enthusiasm and positivity really awakened my own, and it’s stuck with me ever since. Maybe taking life so seriously isn’t the answer. Sometimes you just gotta shut up and smile, and not worry about things you can’t fix, and just go with the flow. I never knew by 2023 Kodocha would have brought me so many new friends and just a better understanding of myself and life in general. I hope everyone watching my videos can learn not only about the characters of Kodocha, but about themselves as well. My latest video, part 2 of “Exploring Sana & Akito’s Relationship”, actually helped me in my own marriage. Yesterday, my husband told me that he’s the happiest he’s ever been. It made me feel so good because the research and time I put into that video helped me better understand my husband’s love languages, which ultimately strengthened our marriage.
Kodocha really is my light in this dark world and I hope I am able to spread the joy that it’s instilled in me.
Thank you for reading, and sticking around until now. There is a lot more Kodocha content coming in the future, as always. See ya! 💖

top 10 Animanga pet peeves (that could be creators or industry or fans, or a little bit of everything)
The sheer volume. There's just too many shows, too many series being made. Not a recent thing either, I remember an interview of Miyazaki calling out the same thing decades ago. Who has time to watch all of this? At some point there's just not enough staff either. The industry is completely bloated and would benefit from doing less and of better quality.
I, personally, don't like "the anime style", the big shiny eyes and spiky bangs and whatnot, I think it's ugly and that's my problem. However there is a real problem with (western) fans only looking for that style. I remember the backlash stuff like the One Punch Man manga got at release, how people were tearing it a new one because of the art style, and regularly see shows and films that look a bit different get snobbed by a major proportion of the public in a way that I don't see with European animation
Most animes are badly adapted. Boarding is a whole art I don't practice so it's a tad unfair to rag on that in detail, but I see a real problem with trying to be too faithful to the original manga in a way that ignores the format changes. You can't just do a shot per panel. It doesn't work. Jojos and HxH2011 are some of the worst offenders I've seen in this. Rare are the anime that commit to the video format by daring to go all in on the adaptation part at the risk of going further from the source. The best example I've seen of one who does is Tekkon.
Stop coloring manga oh my god a comic isn't lesser because it's in black and white. Especially if it was made originally without colors in mind. It looks like ass please stop
Weekly chapters are rampant worker abuse and monthly isn't too far. IDGAF about updates if it means the creator gets to have a life. Fans of mangaka like Togashi who ruined his body drawing and makes a chapter every three years should consider them blessed, NOT bitch about the guy being "lazy".
I hate how modern anime is composited. Everything is too shiny. Droplets of water don't need individual sparkles. Skies Can be a single color. Can we go back to cell era flats
Fanartists who draw characters as white by default are wild. That's a japanese comic book
Huge pet peeve this one because it literally doesn't matter that much but it's so so sad to me when people talk about Ghibli like they're groundbreakingly original indie creators when they're SO commercial. Your controversial fave director has a theme park to sell plushies
Seeing fandom shippers fight with fandom powerscalers. They're doing the same thing of playing with dolls instead of looking into the plot. Stop fighting guys you should kiss
I'm running out of smart stuff to talk about so
Give those bitches noses or I will

Still making my way trudgily thru Vinland saga and thinking a bit about what makes it feel so much more authentic and admirable than a huge amount of similarly themed preachy pop media (artistic sermons about how violence is not the answer). The example in the forefront of my mind is the civil rights arc from the umbrella academy s02, which I was watching pre-breakup with my ex. The good place can fit this mould at times too
I think the fundamental answer is that a lot of competing preachy pacifist propaganda is really selling a sort of complacency and self-congratulation. The height of morality is a moderately intensified version of well-adjusted suburban existence—maybe one that’s more politically involved, maybe one where you don’t call the cops much/ever, maybe one where you’re a bit ahead of the curve on social inclusion and conscientious consumption. But, once you’ve purged it of some unfortunate socially backward residue, a saint looks basically smth like you, the dignified and well-reared middle class liberal
VS refuses to let you indulge this fantasy, vigorously. It repudiates the idea at every step. Some examples [spoilers]:
The heroes are men who have committed or negligently failed to resist inexcusable acts, repeatedly and at mass scale. Thus they cannot present pacifism as a promised means of resting assured of their moral superiority; indeed, especially the protagonist makes it clear that he cannot preside over violent judgment precisely bc he is conscious of his guilt
In one of the most beautiful animanga scenes I’ve ever read/watched, the work viciously attacks the values of family and personal loyalty. Particular “loves” like those between parent/child or husband/wife are not even love at all, they are mere prejudice and favouritism, no different from servile courtiers debasing themselves before a king while exploiting their social inferiors. This is, obviously, a bad fit for middle class morality
It refuses to condemn revolutionary violence in absolute terms. King Canute, reimagined as a femboy 11th cent Lenin of the north sea, is one of the vaunted few who can see beyond to a truly better world. The manga makes clear which route it prefers between egalitarian radical pacifism and ruthless strongman militarism, but it doesn’t let the better man (that is, vicariously, the audience) gloat about it and also makes clear that the latter is at least asking the right questions (a rare and laudable achievement)
The hero’s personal self-transformation is centrally, flauntingly undignified. His pride and dignity are the first things he is willing to toss aside for the sake of his dream of a better world. His pacifism doesn’t allow him to preserve his dignity and honour at all: it treats it instead as one of his first hindrances
It also manages to be so earnest and unsubtle to circle around from cringe to endearing. You can tell she’s really putting her whole heart into it, she really believes she needs to say what shes saying with it and won’t let artistic sophistication and discretion stand in the way of it
In conclusion pls read the manga it is very good :3

L M N and O for the askmeme?
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)
I know for a fact I'm not the first nor will I be the last to say this, but I did think it independently before I saw anyone else thought the same thing, so! Fushiguro Megumi is like a much better written version of Sasuke.
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
This is so tricky. No one from Utena, that's for sure. I think the problem is every character I find fascinating I'd either not want to be near irl because they (or the universe they're from) tend to be fatal (and I'm too redshirt-coded to survive this) *or* they're too similar to me in the specific ways where we'd just make each other worse. Hmmmmm, I think I'll go for Han Yeo-jin (Stranger/Secret Forest), mainly because I've seen how she acts with Hwang Simok in terms of persistently getting him to open up without overdoing it like a lot of people do and I think a lot of the aggressively extroverted characters I could pick would be too overwhelming for me. Whilst more introverted characters make me struggle to see who would make the first move in even initiating a friendship. So, being gently coaxed out of my shell by a woman who doodles terribly, spams cute emotes, and likes animanga sounds good. She's also straight up legitimately a good person in a sea of corrupt individuals, trying to keep her own morals afloat the best she can, because it's all she can do. Someone like that is someone I'd like to befriend.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
Genuinely not sure what I consider my "main" fandom rn, but I know for Link Click, one thing I'd love would be more long fic. By which I literally mean "more fic above 5k in length". There are some really solid one-shots out there, but you rarely get multi-chapter fic, case fic, those kinds of things. I do think the English side of the fandom has taken off since s2 started airing so I'm holding out hope there'll be more, but for now, just gotta be patient, I guess.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
Gonna link to my response on this one from here.

questions 4, 5, 8, and 12 please. if you don't mind!
Thank you for asking there! Although as my most active and favorite fandom is "Cursed Princess Club" - forgive me to limiting on that webtoon fandom only there!!! IDM btw ^^
Tumblr media
4) I do like slash pairings but just for funnies, although I prefer heterosexual pairings but I do love canon homo ones like Jamie/Leopold and Jolie/Nell.. but if not canon - as in the feelings not mutual, I didn't ship it. So most (non canonical) homosexual pairings in the CPC imho not make sense to me. Especially in order to do so - bashing characters, usually male characters one in order to make wlw agenda happen. Or the opposite, blb that actually just bromance at best becomes romantic without resolving the actual problem of the mentioned character in the story [I feel it's lazy writing for: X might gets redemption if he gets what he wants which is by somehow together with Z who also a male - simply for spits]. No hate for LGBTQ+ community as a whole, but I am big fan of canon compliant so any pairing like that [I feel I didn't need to list it, as it's obvious the examples from just the taggings] I likely won't read it or if I do stumble means I will never re read. I feel we could simply, respect each other? I feel we could make great fanfics without bashings. My cup of tea is loving canon pairings (or the ones that might have mutual feelings) which I see very often heterosexual ones, so I won't reading fanfics about pairings that not make sense to me - most of them it's pure fanon territory like "what-if" character A never likes B as well hating initial characterization of B, suddenly character C comes in to 'doing anything to lets A better' - even if that's mean bashing character B as harsh as possible
5) CPC still not ending so as highly canon compliant person, I didn't know whose pairing that will be "platonic" at the end or is possible they'll be romantic that maybe not right now but in the future they're dating/gets together more/marry etc. I feel there's "ship" but more like dynamic of the whole group of Background Princesses (Abbi, Renée, Bernadette, Sally, Deaneira, Jolie, Thermidora, Nell) - as they are very in click working together as making "CPC monster"... Which I feel we will meet them again soon as certain event leads to - CPC HQ
8) My non native English struggle first to understand the question then I guess... A local webtoon which the niche as webtoon will be always minimal compared to animanga, as well as it's local in my language's country to make it rarely known internationally (although translation exists for it)
12) Become so obsessed to being so active as daily doing editing for fandom wiki as well as running up before series ended, I used to be obsessed with my no. 8 series while reaching the top of achievement thus declared as admin... Now I do the very same for "Cursed Princess Club"
I am indeed doing absolute payless and likely thankless jobs - just for other people of fandom 'helped' some way with wiki
P.S. as conclusion: if you are enjoying CPC, I really hope to at least take part in venturing the CPC fandom wikia...
Literally built by shattered mind, stress, tears and sweats

Y'ALL CHAPTER 51 HAS ME IN A DEATH CHOKE!!!!
Tumblr media
This arc is going to be so good, I can already tell and I cannot wait to see how Maharu's arc is going to be handled. She clearly has a lot of insecurities in regards to her own abilities and intellect compared to Mitsumi and it is manifesting in her lashing out at her sister who doesn't deserve it, and I look forward to her realizing that hurting her sister won't make her feel better about herself. Hoping Fumi is able to get Maharu to realize it is okay to be envious but to not let that manifest in negative ways and instead motivate her to be better and work hard for the results she wants.
Tumblr media
Also it meant so much to me to see Nao's interaction with her mother! Her mom saying she wanted to meet her boyfriend and to bring him home next time? UGH RIGHT IN MY HEART!!!
Tumblr media
And the panel where Mitsumi wraps their arms together when she is worried about how Nao feels being back in their hometown after all these years post-coming out.
Tumblr media
It is rare to see trans rep in animanga, especially being handled so well and respectfully. I'm personally not trans, but one of my mothers is and it warms my heart seeing this in a manga that's become so beloved to me. She has even begun watching the anime and was impressed herself!
Tumblr media
As for Mitsumi, I love how Mika is already picking up that something is off between her and Sousuke. Mika has truly become a better person over the course of the series and such a great friend (all of the girls have honestly) and I wonder if she is going to ask Mitsumi if anything happened between her and Sousuke.
Also Sousuke's face when he saw the Maharu lash out at Mitsumi? Honestly chef's kiss. He's already going through some emotional acrobatics right now regarding how he feels about Mitsumi and their breakup and I can only imagine what this arc is going to do about that.
Tumblr media
(Also also, the color pages/spreads were so cuuuute!!!)
