i really can't stop thinking about ep 211 & tiny nanao & also lisa and kyoraku
i haven't made a tumblr post in a long time but i read a really really good nemu/nanao fic today (the only one in the ao3 tag?! i can't believe it but also, i can. they're both kind of side characters aren't they.) and i also saw a gifset that reminded me of Tiny Nanao so i've been thinking about that scene. you know those three minutes of ep 211, during the flashback/pendulum arc, where kyoraku returns to the eighth division barracks and nanao is there with a book and she's asking where lisa is...
it just! it makes me feel insane! the shot of kyoraku looking away when he says lisa is on an important mission, the fact that he's the one who volunteered her for it, the way that he can't meet nanao's eyes when he says "it's okay. she'll be back by dawn, i'm sure".
AND THEN THE FUCKIGN... THE ARC OF BLOOD AGAINST THE MOON HE WAS GAZING AT... THE WAY THE MUSIC STOPS AND WE GET BACK TO THE BATTLE... it just fucks me up! the song is called "here to stay"!!! it really ruins me!!!!!!! it lives in my head rent free!!! thinking about how the last words he had with lisa were him asking her to go in the place of the head of the kido corps, the little exchange of "can i count on you?" "of course!" "then, if you would, please" (ja, yoroshiku). how she left immediately to join the team and then! they did not see each other! for a hundred years!!!!! do you ever think about how she's the only visored who had something personal to say to a shinigami when the visored appeared in FKT, do you ever think about how both of them greet each other with actions and words that say, so clearly, i remember what kind of person you are, i remember you, i haven't forgotten. she yells at him to stop playing dead and he makes one of his usual playboy comments about how she's gotten more beautiful since she last saw him!!! lisa won't say anything more sentimental than "stay there and rest, i'm going to show you how much stronger i've become". and then AFTER she turns away kyoraku calls out to her and says "lisa-chan, i'm glad you're well". i think that in all his time serving as captain he must have found ways to deal with the death and loss inherent to the position, to the whole organization. he had to have found ways to grieve and cope and then move on or at least keep going, especially since as a captain a good deal of those were his fault. i really read that "i'm glad you're well" as like... an admission of responsibility and guilt about something he's had to carry with him for a hundred years. a hundred years! he sent his lieutenant off to what must have been her death and he just had to live with that! it wasn't even that she was assigned to it from on high, he sent her in someone else's place, and she never came back!
but then she calls him an idiot, in a way that really really sounds to me like something she's used to saying, and goes off to fight. it sounds so much like banter, like the way nanao talks to kyoraku now. and after she's flash stepped away he agrees with her.
there's just! i feel like it's maybe not the most intentional parallel, having a tiny meaningful exchange before lisa heads off to a fight that she takes because of kyoraku, but that little snippet of conversation feels like it at least echoes an old dynamic. "i'm glad you're well" "idiot" isn't something strangers can say to each other!!! (though i wouldn't put it past lisa to kick a stranger across a street.)
but at the same time that simple exchange sounds so... layered. he's glad she's been doing well, and he expresses it, and he does so sincerely. he's not saying anything flippant like "oh you've been up to a lot in the past hundred years" or anything like that. and i really wouldn't put it past kyoraku to sit there and joke a bit with his lieutenant, just in general, you know? but he doesn't. he takes a moment and says so sincerely, so genuinely, i'm glad you're okay. to me it sounds like he's also accepting responsibility for, you know, being the reason she might have not been okay that whole time. for sending her off to a horrifying mission where she got hollowfied and cast out of soul society and had to go into hiding in the human world.
and then she calls him an idiot. i feel like forgiveness is too strong or too direct a word, but it has a similar undertone to what i read into that. she knows he was the one who sent her to that battlefield a hundred years ago, and she hears him accepting that and maybe implying an apology for it, and she says you idiot. not forgiveness, because it might not be that there's something for her to forgive - the gotei 13 are still a military organization, you know? and she was a lieutenant and he was her captain and he sent her on a mission, the way captains do - but she knows he's being a sentimental old fool and taking that burden on himself, and in reply she wants to emphasize the "fool" part.
and she steps away back to the fight and he sits there, watching her go, and agrees with her.
anyway that scene with nanao asking in her tiny baby voice where lisa is and kyoraku not being able to make eye contact with her even as he's reassuring her and telling her lisa will come back for sure and the way it cuts back to the doomed fight. the way the song, which is called Here to Stay, cuts out on the "i'm sure". it gets me! it really does!!!!!

there are a couple parallels already from dex in daredevil season three to what we’ve seen from the set of daredevil born again
Tumblr media
in daredevil season three episode two dex is introduced at the end of the episode emerging from the smokey shadows with a gun as special agent benjamin “dex” poindexter, ready to kill the people who are in his way of doing his job and effortlessly dispatches of them displaying the level of his skill. this sets the stage for dex as a character, and while we saw him in a prior scene, this scene is the first impression dex gives to both the audience and wilson fisk, which later makes fisk want to have him on his side because of the brutal talent he just witnessed.
Tumblr media
in from what we’ve seen in born again, dex emerges from the smokey shadows with his gun as bullseye, ready to kill the people who have, in his eyes, wronged him and anyone who is in his way. he once again easily kills them, and is only stopped from completing his one man mission because of daredevil’s intervention and karen page’s own level of resilience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he is also wearing the same exact brand of pants he wore in daredevil 3x02 in this scene of born again, but just in black! this is something i really like, as it makes dex feel like the same character just in a different time of his life. he knows what he likes, so when he was first starting off as bullseye, he used the same pants he knows are good. it’s also a great parallel as he was wearing the same style in his introduction as dex and he’s once again wearing them in his introduction as bullseye. this seems to be dex just starting off as bullseye, like how matt wore the black suit in season one, this is dex’s prototype bullseye suit. he used materials he knows are reliable to quickly build himself an efficient suit. he could’ve just stolen back the daredevil suit he used in season three but it was canonically damaged so it probably wouldn’t be as protective so i get it. we don’t know much about this scene but from what we have seen we can start to put the puzzle pieces together.
potential spoilers now (if i am right)
this scene seems to be a flashback to foggy nelson’s death at bullseye’s hands, and shows the reason to why karen page left new york and won’t be in the series regularly. nelson, murdock, and page seem to have started up their own office location and are no longer working out of nelson’s meats, so they would have been working together as a firm for probably a year or two. i do not think they could have set up this office location before the blip happened (which happened in may 2018, season three ended in early november 2017) as we know they all were struggling money wise in the last season and they all look to have drastically different looks in born again so they would’ve needed time to build a lawfirm and get money to do that. so this scene would take place in the year 2020(ish), which seemingly confirms that matt murdock, karen page, foggy nelson, wilson fisk, and benjamin poindexter were not blipped from thanos’ snap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
dex would’ve needed a year or two as well to fully heal physically from the damage fisk did to his spine and the surgery at the end of season three. but the mental damage has not healed, if anything his mental health is most definitely in the worst place it has been in his whole life and will just continue to get worse as he continues his decent into becoming bullseye. so he’s not fully bullseye in this scene yet, he clearly has aspects of the bullseye costume in this prototype suit but this is just dex trying to cause chaos and get revenge on the people he can since fisk is most likely still in prison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
matt defeats dex, i hope dex doesn’t get arrested again and just scurries away with a stronger hatred for matt and karen and hides away until he returns in later episodes. don’t know what they’ll do if foggy does die and karen leaves, because in all seriousness matt would probably just end himself LMAO. so however they approach this it’ll have to be done very well. anyway. i assume in the two last episodes of born again that both karen and dex will return in that dex will have a more orginal comic accurate bullseye costume, since born again takes place in 2026 after the events of echo he would’ve had time to become bullseye and get a better suit with the bullseye symbol commissioned.
anyway don’t know what this is just wanted to point out the parallel’s between dex’s first appearance and the set media we’ve seen from born again. and also theorize to what will happen in born again, i’d love to hear what anyone else thinks will happen as long as it is respectful.

VLD S7E8: The Last Stand, Part 2
Season 7, Episode 8: The Last Stand, Part 2
Transcript by @dragonofyang
Episode Summary: Sendak’s forces launch an assault on Earth, and Sam Holt, Admiral Sanda, and Commander Iverson fight back, but Earth loses ground against the advanced technology of the Galra fleet. The MFE pilots go on a mission for supplies, and the last of Earth’s free inhabitants prepare to make their final stand against the Fire of Purification.
[Google Doc]
[Man on PA] All personnel, proceed to your command stations immediately.
Sendak: Assessment.
Hepta: Scanners have yet to detect any signs of a sub-orbital defense system. Planetary surface reports indicate offensive capability, extremely low.
Sendak: Begin the assault. Fire.
Unnamed soldier: Move, move, move!
[Cut to Galaxy Command Center.]
Sanda: Power the surface-to-air blasters. Dispatch the first wave of Garrison fighters. Prep the next wave immediately.
Sam: Wait! We can’t use the standard defenses.
Sanda: We’re going to hit those aliens with hundreds of thousands of pounds of thermobaric missiles and finish them off with the best pilots the world has to offer.
Sam: They don’t stand a chance out there. We need to scramble the MFE fighters.
Sanda: The pilots of the MFEs are just cadets.
Sam: So are the pilots of Voltron.
Sanda: Launch base defenses according to protocol. Commander!
Iverson: I know you have wartime authorization, but maybe we should listen to--
Sanda: That’s an order! We can’t risk the planet on untested military weaponry piloted by cadets.
Iverson: This is Commander Iverson. Initiate base defense protocol, Beta-Five. I repeat, initiate base defense protocol, Beta-Five.
Adam: You heard the man, we’re up.
Sam: You’ve just doomed those men and women.
[Cut to the air above the Garrison.]
Adam: Our weapons have no effect!
Man: Evasive maneuvers!
Adam: Wildcat’s gone. Titan’s not responding.
Woman: I can’t shake these things. He’s got me on target lock!
Man 2: Hang in there! I’m heading your way!
Woman: I can’t--No!
Woman 2: Be aware, another Galra fleet is launching and approaching.
Woman 3: I’ve got target lock! No!
Adam: [screams]
Sendak: This is Commander Sendak of the Fire of Purification. I am here for the Voltron Lions. Turn them over to me or I will destroy your planet.
Sanda: Open a line.
Veronica: Yes, Admiral.
Sanda: This is Admiral Sanda of Earth. We have received your communication requesting the Voltron Lions. Please be advised that our planet is not harboring them nor do we know where they are.
Sendak: We’ll see.
Sam: Tell all Garrison bases to call back fighters.
Veronica: All Garrison bases are under attack. They’re not responding. They’ve already scrambled fighters.
[Scene change to Sendak’s ship.]
Sendak: Battle report.
Hepta: The planet has offered little resistance with the exception of this single location. It appears to be utilizing particle barrier technology.
Sendak: Focus all firepower on that shield. The ion cannon will make short work of it.
[Scene change to the Galaxy Garrison command room.]
Veronica: Sir, it looks like the alien ships are focusing in on our location.
Sam: Scramble the MFE-Ares fighters. Begin powering up the fusion cannon.
Iverson: Yes, sir.
Sanda: I will court-martial you if you utter one command against my orders.
Iverson: There won’t be a court to try me in if we don’t listen to Commander Holt.
Iverson on PA: MFE-Ares pilots, begin loading sequence. Activate interlock.
Griffin: Dynotherms connected.
Rizavi: Mega-thrusters are go.
Griffin: We’re ready to depart on your mark, Commander Iverson.
Iverson: Three… Two… One… Mark!
Hepta: They’re scrambling fighters, Commander.
Sendak: Fire the ion cannon.
Hepta: The particle barrier shows no signs of structural damage.
Griffin: Okay, team, we’ve trained for this. We know their maneuvers and have the firepower to knock them out. Leifsdottir, you’re my wing.
Leifsdottir: Ten-four.
Griffin: Rizavi, you and Kinkade keep those fighters off our back.
Rizavi: Copy.
Veronica: Fusion cannon online.
Sam: Fire!
Veronica: Direct hit. Target destroyed.
Sam: Fusion cannon status report.
Veronica: It’s drained substantial power. Estimating enough for two more shots before recharge, sir.
Sam: Sendak doesn’t know that.
Hepta: The cannon appears to be charging for another shot.
Sendak: This is the only place on the planet well-defended. Fall back out of its range. We will attack where they are vulnerable.
Veronica: The entire fleet is pulling out. They’re focusing their attacks on the remaining cities.
Sam: Update the rest of the globe. They need to evacuate to safe zones immediately.
Sanda: We should go after them. Your weapons actually mounted an offense.
Sam: The fighters are only short-range and the cannon is immobile. If we leave its proximity, we’d be decimated.
Veronica: Sir, communication with all of Western Europe has gone dark. Russia. China. India. East Coast Base, please acknowledge, over. Can anyone on the East Coast respond? Over. Please?
Hepta: Scouting reports show no signs of the Voltron Lions. Shall we continue the occupation, sir?
Sendak: Yes, the Paladins will return. And we’ll be waiting for them.
[Scene change to Garrison command center.]
Veronica: Commander, we are no longer receiving responses on any channels. What are your orders?
Sam: The Galra just delivered a critical blow. I know many of you in this room feel we should press our attack, and believe me when I say I wish we could. Even with all we’ve accomplished, we’re still not ready to fight the Galra head-on. However, while this base stands, Earth still has a chance. I believe in each and every one of you. You made it here because of your ability to overcome adversity, and now the freedom of planet Earth is dependent on that ability. Everyone break to their sub-commands. I want a full status update of this base. We will prevail.
Sanda: When this is all said and done, I’m going to have you both stripped of your rank and thrown in the brig for defying my orders.
Iverson: Yes, ma’am.
Sanda: Now, we don’t have the Lions. Why is Sendak still invading?
Sam: You don’t understand the Galra. They’ve been conquering the universe for over ten thousand years. Sendak must have a plan.
[Scene change to the Galaxy Garrison meeting room.]
Veronica: Supplies are limited. We don’t have enough food to sustain us for more than a couple of months.
Sam: And construction materials? Do we have enough to complete the IGF-Atlas?
Veronica: Negative.
Sam: Quiznak. We can’t give up. Voltron will come. We just need to get supplies and wait out Sendak.
Veronica: Well, there is a supply depot not too far from here. It was abandoned during the initial attack and the Galra haven’t occupied that area yet.
Sanda: But how would we transport the supplies?
Veronica: We could use the underground tunnel system. It’s an older setup from World War III. The trains haven’t been used since, but the tunnels are sound and the tracks are still intact and run directly beneath the base. If we were to send a small team, we could load up supplies onto one of the old trains, repair it, and ride it directly back here.
Sam: What does Galra activity in that area look like?
Veronica: None currently, but judging by the Galra’s movements, that won’t last long. It’s hard to give an exact estimate. Their occupation efforts seem to be focused on major metropolitan areas, but they’re scattering out in what look like random patrol patterns.
Sam: Then our team will have to move quickly.
[Scene change to a hangar.]
Griffin: Okay, I’ll drive.
Veronica: I’m coming with you. Name’s Veronica. I’m an analyst and your handler.
Griffin: We don’t need a handler.
Veronica: Do you know how to get to the depot?
Griffin: Well, no, but, you know, I’ll just use the guidance system.
Veronica: That uses the world communication network. Which, oh yeah, these tunnels were designed to block. And Cadet Rizavi should drive. She has the highest marks with the AW-Cruiser.
Rizavi: I like her.
Veronica: Oh, and shotgun.
Rizavi: I really like her.
Veronica: Left here.
Kinkade: All clear.
Veronica: Right. These tracks are a straight shot to the depot. Let’s get to work.
Rizavi: They left her in pretty good shape. I think we’ll have her running in under an hour.
Griffin: Griffin checking in. What’s your status?
Veronica: Supplies are ninety-five percent loaded.
Rizavi: Rizavi here. Almost done with repairs.
Griffin: We’ve got company, just south of the Cruiser.
Rizavi: Copy. On our way.
Griffin: Our weapons have no effect on them!
Veronica: Go! Get the train running. I’ll hold them off.
Griffin: You two get this thing started. Kinkade, you’re with me.
Rizavi: Train’s up and running. Let’s go.
Griffin: Veronica, get in here! Veronica! What are you doing?
Veronica: Just go!
Griffin: We’re not gonna leave her. Stop the train. No!
Kinkade: She saved the mission. And us.
Rizavi: Does anyone know how to get back?
Leifsdottir: Two lefts, two rights, left, middle tunnel, right, left, and then one more right.
Sam: Thank goodness you’re back. Wait. Where’s Veronica?
Griffin: She… She didn’t make it.
Sam: Her sacrifice will not be in vain. We have a chance now.
Griffin: A chance for what? We just bought ourselves time. What is that gonna do for us?
Sam: Voltron will come.
Griffin: You really believe that?
Sam: Yes. And in the meantime, we need to finish our work on the IGF-Atlas and figure out a way to power it. She’ll be sorely needed when we liberate the planet.
[Scene change the Galra fleet orbiting Earth.]
Sendak: Begin the next phase of the assault. Destroy their communications network.
Hepta: Forgive me for questioning your orders, but why are we cutting off their communications? Do we not want Voltron to hear the distress signal?
Sendak: When you hear an animal crying out in pain, you proceed with caution. Silence promotes haste.
Sanda: He’s destroying all of our satellites.
Sam: He’s cutting off our communication with the outside world. And all we can do is watch.
Hepta: Commander, how should the fleet proceed regarding the last stronghold?
Sendak: Time will conquer them for us.
[Scene change to the Galaxy Garrison meeting room.]
Sam: It seems we will have enough raw material to complete the superstructure for the IGF-Atlas. How’s morale?
Iverson: It’s low. We’re using every trick in the book to keep spirits high, but when the world is in the shape it’s in…
Sanda: If the IGF-Atlas becomes operational, do you think it could defend Earth?
Sam: She’s been outfitted with all our most advanced weaponry, but it’s still just one ship, and an untested one at that. This is Commander Holt, over.
Man: Sir, you’re gonna wanna come to the hangar to see this.
[Scene change to the Galaxy Garrison hangar.]
Sam: Veronica, you’re alive! How?
Veronica: These people saved me. I’ve been working with an underground resistance network. The network is small, but highly mobile, and they’ve gathered a great deal of intel and supplies that could prove extremely useful to us. Their intel even led me to my family. So I led them here. I thought we should be working together.
Sam: Your brother would be very proud of you.
Veronica: Speaking of Lance… have you heard anything? From Voltron?
Sam: No. Not yet. And supplies are getting dangerously low. What you’ve brought will certainly help, but only for so long.
Veronica: I’m afraid I’ve got more bad news to add to that. I have some intel from the resistance network. The Galra have begun to group able-bodied citizens together into work camps. They’re utilizing them for manual labor. Reports indicate that construction has begun on multiple Galran installations around the globe.
Sam: We need to get one last message out to Voltron.
[Scene change to Galaxy Garrison command center.]
Man on PA: Commencing launch in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four…
Sanda: Let’s hope you’re right about this.
Man on PA: ...three, two, one. Liftoff.
Hepta: Sir, the base has launched a projectile.
Sendak: Destroy it.
Woman: Yeah! We did it!
Sam: He fell for it.
Hepta: I’m picking up a signal. They’re broadcasting. They’re microtransmitters, millions of them, spreading throughout the sector.
Sendak: What are they broadcasting?
Sam on transmitters: To any beings who receive this message, planet Earth has been overrun by Galra. Most of the citizens have been captured. Those of us remaining are making our last stand. If you get this message, please get word to Voltron. We need help.
Sendak: So they do think Voltron will return.
[Scene change to a Galaxy Garrison hangar.]
Sam: Earth has been conquered. We are the last holdout in an evil occupation. And we must face facts. Our supplies are running out. They’ve hammered us and hurt the ones we love. Our backs are completely up against the wall. And nothing makes us more dangerous. We only have enough resources for one last stand. Regardless of the outcome, if we stand united, we will let them know that planet Earth, our home, will not go down without a fight.
[Cut to Voltron.]
Keith: Well, what are we waiting for?

Chaos Part I - Re-Review #53
Firstly I have to make many, many apologies for the delay in this week’s Re-Review Series updates. Tuesday brought some very bad work news and despite working really hard, we’ve ended up as a team with the worst possible outcome. I’m not disclosing everything here, but yeah, it’s been a busy and tricky week. Hopefully next week will get a little bit back towards what we knew, but if it take time, bare with me.
I’ll try and get all of this week’s up before Monday.
So, I know due to work I never really reviewed Series 3 in the first place... the irony of that timing was not lost on me. But yeah, they’ll be going in this series anyway.
And we’ll start on Series 3 now.
No two part episode ever lacks chaos, let’s be honest (’Ring of Fire’, ‘Up From the Depths’, ringing any bells?). And we started off in a very TAG fashion with everyone doing something.
Tumblr media
Busy day by any chance?
“International Rescue, hold please. I’m beginning to think we’re the ones who may need the help. International Rescue, are situations may have a situation. The Chaos Crew.”
Cue The Hood manically laughing as well. And that says it all. So the Chaos Crew are employed by The Hood. But we’ll get to them a bit later.
John looks like he might have a headache... So would I.
Tumblr media
Scott being all calm and calculating again. Very his style.
“What’s your status, Thunderbird One?”
“One down, one more to go. John, is there any help you can find me? Another Thunderbird? Local authorities? Rescue Scouts?”
“Area search and rescue are dispatched somewhere else, and Virgil can’t get there fast enough.”
“I guess it’s just me then.”
Scott asking for help... that speaks for the kind of day they are having.
Tumblr media
“Please stay calm. Do you require medical assistance?”
“Um... no... I’m fine.”
What is this thing? I did love the interaction with it though. Scott looking at it like it was absolutely crazy.
“I’m telling you Virgil, it just came out of nowhere.”
“I’m sure Brains would love to get his hands on it.”
“That shouldn’t be a problem. It’s been following me like a lost puppy. I had to slow down just so it could keep up. Still, I’m not sure I want it on the Island until we know who built it.”
Tumblr media
Well, let’s now find out what it is, you know since Colonel Casey was kind enough to ring.
“It’s called a Rescue Operation Robot. ROBOT for short.”
“Oh, clever.”
I’m with Gordon, so clever! That line killed me I’ll be honest.
“I know. This one went missing from a GDF testing lab before they could make their big unveiling.”
“There’s more of them?”
“Well apparently Colonel Casey wants the GDF to start being more useful in the rescue department.”
I think we’d all just like them to start being a little bit more useful in general.
Tumblr media
“Then the GDF should stay focused on catching them and leaving the rescue stuff to the professionals.”
I do agree with Gordon though. We’ve all said it. The GDF do seem a bit useless quite often.
Alan made me chuckle.
Brains was super excited.
The GDF have a plan? Woah.
Tumblr media
Captain Rigby seemed a little like a robot to me at first. He could have at least said hello.
“Anymore Captain?”
“Umm... any questions?”
“Just one Captain. Would you mind if we filled in a few blanks?”
“We?”
“Lady Penelope, we’re ready.”
Kayo does know it all in this scene, but it was still Lady Penelope who absolutely stole it for me. She owns the place.
Tumblr media
“But from what I can tell-”
“Piece of junk? Please say piece of junk?”
“No, Gordon, I’m actually quite impressed.”
It must be alright enough though - Brains never says things like that lightly.
Tumblr media
So, off Gordon and Virgil go to help out, whilst Kayo and Rigby go on a mission to apprehend. We’ll get to them as well, but let’s stick with the boys first.
“I don’t know bro. It keeps looking at me funny.”
“It’s not Gordon.”
“I don’t think he likes me.”
“It has no feelings Gordon.”
“I got my eyes on you pal! It winked at me.”
Loved this exchange, every single time.
Tumblr media
“Did I mention how much I love these things?”
You didn’t, Gordon. Difficult rescue and in comes the GDF robot. And you begin to think, maybe these things are alright, maybe the GDF have got it right for once.
Tumblr media
At this point, let’s introduce The Chaos Crew properly. Aka, Havoc and Fuse, and explosive duo working for The Hood to cause Chaos for International Rescue. How lovely is that? And yeah, they’re really bad apparently - not that we see why in this episode.
Havoc - “thief, code-breaker and master of deception”
Fuse - “demolition expert”
I thought The Hood and Virgil filled those roles, but hey, you can always have more I suppose.
So, The Hood has acquired them with the plan to create chaos. That seems to be his only plan as well. I mean, there’s a bigger impact waiting somewhere and we’ll get to that at some point I’m sure. It seems that the Chaos Crew have been operating for some time off-screen in the series break. I’m guessing The Hood didn’t give IR much of that break (of normality) they were looking forward to.
Tumblr media
“It might be better if we-”
“That’s the plan. Are we clear?”
“I’m clear.”
And I never thought I’d see a day when these two got along.
“I think I may owe you an apology.”
“No need.”
Tumblr media
“I hate to admit it, but these things might actually help us.”
“This could be the start of a bright new future for the GDF.”
It probably needs to be, let’s face it.
“I hope I don’t come to regret this.”
Um... hello? Has no one remembered that locking The Hood up doesn’t work? I can hardly think locking up one of his associates will either.
Master of deception not ringing bells with anyone?
Tumblr media
“Havoc calling Hood. I’m in.”
And there we go. And then we get the fleet of ROBOTs lighting up. Trouble awaits in part 2.

Notes on Season 15- Part 1 (contains spoilers, are mostly complaints about Torres (and Quinn in Pandora’s Box (Part 1)), and are my personal opinions, don’t @ me)
Since Season 15 started rerunning in Australia on 19 November, I’ve decided to write down things I forgot or would like to emphasise upon:
House Divided
I’m so glad Quinn’s gone, good riddance
Reeves saying NCIS wasn’t allowed to look for Gibbs and McGee, then the dispatch guy looking around at their efforts to do just that was great
Why does Torres have to be so disrespectful, even in court- poor Vance having to witness it
Were Bishop and Jimmy being serious about the phone booth?
Poor Reeves- never lend anything to Torres
I love it when Vance gets angry on the team’s behalf, it’s awesome
Don’t be such a dick, Torres
Jezebel Poppins sort of looks like Britney Spears- sidenote, I wonder how the show comes up with character names
Gibbs’ carving was amazing
Bishop and Reeves look so good together, ugh
St. Nicholas is the patron saint of children- in relation to Torres, that explains a lot
Fuck off with your insulting Reeves, Torres- like you haven’t made a mistake before (and much bigger than letting not-so-relevant information slip)
The committee backing Vance up was awesome
‘hobbies?’ ‘not dying’ amazing
The end scenes were so sweet
Every time Delilah said ‘husband’ and McGee said ‘wife’, I went ‘aww’ inside
McGee had such great lines this episode
WHY COULDN’T REEVES HAVE BEEN THE THIRD AGENT SO TORRES AND QUINN WOULD HAVE NEVER EXISTED AND CBS WOULD’VE SAVED HEAPS OF MONEY HIRING ONE MAIN CHARACTER THAT AUDIENCES ALREADY KNEW AND LOVED INSTEAD OF TWO NEW ANNOYING ONES
Twofer
Dr. Grace! I love her so much, and her reaction to Gibbs catching her off-guard was awesome
When does Torres not have doubts about Bishop and her competency for just about anything
I almost forgot about Ducky’s ringtone
Ugh, I hate Torres’ macho persona
I don’t get the whole falling-in-love-with-someone-your-S.O.-was-close-to (or falling in love with anyone after your S.O. died, for that matter)
When did Abby make the switch from coffin to casket (or is it a backup or something)? I forgot if it’s been mentioned previously
I was really worried watching the Jimmy-and-the-liver bit for the first time
For some reason, Gibbs and McGee’s basement conversation reminded me of McGee and Tony’s in 3x10
Aww, Ducky getting invited to be honoured as an alumnus was so sweet
McGee’s shrink appointment with Dr. Grace was a really great scene
Dr. Grace and Gibbs have a such great friendship, and this episode was no exception
Exit Strategy
McGee talking about all the old cases, so nostalgic
I love McGee and Jimmy’s friendship
SPORTELLI! I kind of missed him, not going to lie (I wish his story didn’t end the way it did)
Torres is such an asshole to and about everyone, ugh
Torres’ flower drawing looked more like a hubcap
Aww, Ducky teaching the lecture was so cute
Jimmy standing up for himself, go Autopsy Gremlin
Ducky’s fanclub is way too over-eager
Seriously, Torres? You’re a federal agent, and you think saying you’d steal bearer bonds out loud is a good idea?
Ducky and Jimmy have such a sweet relationship
The plot of this episode sucked, I don’t get why they had to make Sportelli dirty
Skeleton Crew
Why is Toccata and Fugue the music piece of choice for every spooky TV show scene ever (it’s great, though, don’t get me wrong)
SLOANE! Her entrance is one of the most iconic (and obvious, I caught the ID flash the first time I watched it) ever, plus she looked just so beautiful
McGee talking about Delilah was so cute
Torres is so pigheaded and obnoxious
Abby’s zombie apocalypse kits were such a sweet idea
Abby and Jimmy have such a cute friendship (and the Hamilton bit was hilarious)
Sloane and Vance are such a great brotp from the very first scene
SHUT. UP. TORRES.
I hate it whenever Torres says something along the lines of ‘I’m not trying to be ________, but...’- he uses it as an excuse for his shitty behaviour, and it’s never addressed
‘I don’t believe in absolutes’ well, we know that Sloane’s not a Sith, then (I know the Sith deal in absolutes, but to deal in something, you most likely have to believe in it first)
$300, 000 really isn’t a lot, especially split between two people
The last two Bishop-and-Buckner scenes were sweet, but didn’t make up for his previous behaviour towards her
Akin to 17x06, this episode glossed over the bullying Bishop endured, and how it’s a serious issue
Fake It ‘Til You Make It
The first time I saw this, I instantly knew it was Tony’s doing- how could anyone not
Reeves is so caring and kind, it sucks how Melissa played him
Abby and Reeves (Rabby? Clabby?) were such a great brotp while it lasted
FUCK. OFF. TORRES.
Why is Torres such an asshole? He’s rude and insensitive to everyone, even recovering addicts- how have the writers not been called out for their writing of him yet
I love Sloane so much-she’s awesome
Those tap-lights are horribly hipster and ugly
The end scene in the bullpen was hilarious, and the end scene with Reeves was so emotional and heartbreaking
Rishop’s friendship (not their more-than-friendship, they’re two separate things) was so prevalent in this episode, and it was great to see
This episode had such a powerful message, and was a great instance in the Rule 10 debate
Trapped
Aww, Jimmy’s so sweet
Torres is so ungrateful and stingy
Torres using work time for personal stuff, not surprising
Reeves’ chess pun was absolutely the best
For some reason, I really love it when Reeves does that thing where he puts his hands behind his back and slightly leans forward
‘The Timinator’ I’m dying
Like Reeves said, Torres always has to one-up everyone else and I hate it
That kid was so sassy, omfG
Bishop knows Reeves so well, and it’s too adorable- how could the writers set up Ellick when Rishop already had an outline
That’s what you get for being such an asshole, Torres, and trying to get it back was one of the lowest things a character has done
I love it when NCIS includes charities (real and based-on-real) and the like in episodes
Words can’t even describe how much I hated Torres in this episode- he was at his worst
Pandora’s Box (Part 1)- Season 14, didn’t re-air with the other episodes because Part 2 (NOLA) is re-airing in two days from time of writing
Bishop being a fangirl was completely understandable (and relatable)
Good job insulting Abby, Torres- not
I’m gonna try and start saying ‘Aristotle banana split’ in everyday conversation
Poor Abby- such a sucky situation
Quinn is so annoying
JJ looks to old to have a daughter in preschool
‘Dr. Ducky’ TOO ADORABLE
Ducky and Reeves having banter about British things was the best thing ever
Bishop and Reeves are so cute together (also the ‘smart girl’ comment was definitely about her)
Bishop was on the shortlist after all, I’m so proud of her (even though the mission went south)
The NYB memorial wall, so sad
LaSalle (rip)! I just love his Alabama accent
Torres is just such a douche
McAbby is such a great brotp
Why does Torres have to be so dramatic and show-offy
WHY COULDN’T REEVES HAVE BEEN THE THIRD AGENT SO TORRES AND QUINN WOULD HAVE NEVER EXISTED AND CBS WOULD’VE SAVED HEAPS OF MONEY HIRING ONE MAIN CHARACTER THAT AUDIENCES ALREADY KNEW AND LOVED INSTEAD OF TWO NEW ANNOYING ONES
Burden Of Proof
Yuck, I hate Torres, and even more when he talks about himself
Sloane’s choker top, YES
I hate it when Torres messes with Bishop’s mind and feelings- that’s not how you show you care about someone
Oof, Fornell- it sucks his job was brought into this mess, and that he lost it as a result
I really don’t want to know why ‘feet’ was the first thing that came to Torres’ mind
There’s something to just love about when Vance breaks up Fornell and Gibbs’ arguments
‘Name That Profile’ actually sounds like a pretty fun game
I hate Torres’ innate cockiness- he risks the suspect getting away just so he can put on a show beforehand
Ouch, poor Fornell- it was the wrong decision, and I don’t know if I would’ve done it, but I did get why he did it- the evidence that Hicks killed the Lieutenant was compelling
Poor Gibbs, you can just see the inner turmoil in his head
Aww, Sloane
Fornell, aww- I’ll fight anyone who says he’s an inherently bad person
Hicks really is a great liar to be able to fool a shrink
I really liked the Gabriel Hicks arc, this episode was the first of a few great ones
Voices
It’s rich of Torres to back up a woman’s side of things
Never stop being awkward and adorkable, Jimmy (adwarkable?)
‘Jack, knock yourself out’ ‘I will, Gibbs’- funniest exchange ever
Ducky lives for the drama and I love it
Collapsing floor during a birthday party- hell of a way to go
Delilah putting up a firewall to prevent McGee from finding out the baby’s gender was so funny
Mike Franks popping up for all of ten seconds was just so iconic
The twins reveal was pretty cute
The foreshadowing in this episode with Sloane and the losing-a-daughter storyline (whether intentional or not) was really good to watch back
The amount of times the word ‘sex’ was said during this episode made me extremely uncomfortable- how hard is it to say ‘gender’ instead
Ready Or Not
Don’t be such an asshole to Reeves, Torres
The Harrison Ford-themed names were kind of bad, but definitely not as much as they could have been
Abby and Delilah’s friendship has come such a long way, I’m so proud
Aww, Morgan, he was so sweet and didn’t deserve to die
Poor Sloane
McGee making a duplicate comfort kit for Delilah was the most adorable thing ever, and Abby yelling along with her was so funny
Bishop and Reeves always stand and sit so close together, too cute
I remember watching this for the first time and being really shocked when Yorka shot Morgan, especially since it was so early on in the episode
Abby really is a terrible liar
Bishop and Gibbs’ little performance was awesome
I don’t know why they didn’t think about putting Sloane in in the first place
Sloane making snarky comments was awesome
Morgan dying was so sad
Seriously, Torres? Do you want everything to blow up?
Reeves and Torres debating the bomb was hilarious
I loved how Gibbs just straight-up punched the driver in the face
The end scene with the twin-naming was so cute
WHY COULDN’T REEVES HAVE BEEN THE THIRD AGENT SO TORRES AND QUINN WOULD HAVE NEVER EXISTED AND CBS WOULD’VE SAVED HEAPS OF MONEY HIRING ONE MAIN CHARACTER THAT AUDIENCES ALREADY KNEW AND LOVED INSTEAD OF TWO NEW ANNOYING ONES
High Tide (originally Ep. 11, but for some reason it aired as Ep. 10)
Torres is so obnoxious and a really bad law enforcer- lives are always more important than the op
Reeves worried about Bishop, so sweet
Torres is such a dick for ignoring Bishop and protocol
Ugh, why is Torres so arrogant and bigheaded- I hate him so much, yuck
How could those girls not know the capital of Maine
Insubordination is Torres’ middle name, and I could’ve watched a whole season’s worth of Vance chewing him out
Bishop’s anger was completely justified, but I wish it wasn’t because of feelings for him
I FUCKING HATE TORRES SO MUCH I WANT TO KILL HIM
Torres absolutely cannot be trusted, Sloane- you know it and so does everyone else
Yuuuck, I hated that part so much, and it didn’t even make sense- Bishop was super-angry at him just before, why would she do a complete 180
What other sort of cop is there, you idiot
Go, Bishop! So badass
Ya think, McGee?
Torres is such an idiot- don’t admit anything to someone who can’t be 100% trusted, and that plot twist was pretty predictable
More like a soft zero
Seriously? What if he died, you dickhead- also the fact that Torres had no backup plan and was only okay because the team saved him shows how self-obsessed and incompetent he is
The fact that the team doubted Torres shows how little he can be trusted, and how little they trust him
There was absolutely no chemistry between Bishop and Torres in this episode (or ever), and words can’t express how much I loathe and despise him and everything about him, which sucks because he could’ve been really well-written
Dark Secrets (originally Ep. 12, but for some reason it aired as Ep. 11)
I think all babies are pretty ugly, but Johnny and Morgan are cute
It’s just an ID photo, Torres- stop complaining
‘is there a spouse’ Autopsy Gremlin for the gender-inclusive win!
Carol mention! She’s awesome
Bud again! I’m using a lot of exclamation marks, but they’re things to exclaim about
Poor guy- she was a total asshole, lying to and cheating on him
Bishop and Sloane have such a pure relationship
Seriously, Torres? Not everyone dates in high school, and shaming someone about it is pathetic and juvenile (and it doesn’t help if they’re dead, either)
Recording your infidelity exploits isn’t a good idea (infidelity isn’t, full-stop)
I hate how obnoxious and over-confident Torres is
Just another instance of Torres manipulating someone into doing something for him
This was easily one of the most gross and uncomfortable plots I’ve seen, but a good way of showing that it’s not only guys that cheat and lie- girls do as well
WHY COULDN’T REEVES HAVE BEEN THE THIRD AGENT SO TORRES AND QUINN WOULD HAVE NEVER EXISTED AND CBS WOULD’VE SAVED HEAPS OF MONEY HIRING ONE MAIN CHARACTER THAT AUDIENCES ALREADY KNEW AND LOVED INSTEAD OF TWO NEW ANNOYING ONES

What if IT was human
N/A: What if Squidboy
@djinmer4 @dannybagpipesarecalling @sailorstar9 @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336
Everything in life changes, nothing stays the same. This is a law even a 5 years old boy can understand, Kurt Wagner is blue and fuzzy. A condition many wouldn´t think as normal, yet, he is walking side by side with his parents as his first day in daycare is about to begin.
Some people ignore the blue boy, some are looking curiously and some are afraid(Kurt send a smile to an old man as the reek of fear is strong and little Kurt has the sensation he knows that pitiful old man)
Martha and George Wagner adopt the blue boy, a fact anyone can see a mile away(no one can make cheating jokes as it´s obvious Kurt is adopted) yet, little Kurt is treated like a son.
Kurt saw a red skin mutant entering the daycare as well. Saw teachers chatting with new parents saw children of his own age playing and giggling and Martha kneeling to be on his level with a sweet expression. "Sohn, is your first day at the daycare, things are changing, but, in a good way, you´ll see more kids and make tons of friends" Martha is crying as she hugs Kurt and the little boy find the gesture strange, but, retribute the affection. "You´re growing up, my sweet boy, make tons of friends and have fun, ok?"
"I promise, Mutti" Kurt speaks with a small smile. George ruffs his hair and told they will pick him up by 15. The teacher, a kind woman named Anna Holstein, promised to look out for little Kurt(Kurt knows she´s a mutant herself) as the Wagner are waving goodbyes to their little boy, Anna, starts asking if Kurt wants to draw.
"Yes, I do. I want to draw something" Kurt confessed and soon start drawing, it was a peculiar one, Anna mentioned, as a blue woman was being drowned in what Kurt confessed(lied through his teeth) it was chocolate. "Mutti makes chocolate today"
Anna smiled and let Kurt continues the draw as he exclaimed the cake need strawberry. The blue woman in the picture is cover with...strawberry.
Meanwhile, Mystique is not having sweet dreams, in fact, Mystique can´t sleep at all.
_________________________________________________________________________
Kurt Wagner is a teenager and has an accurate knowledge he´s not a mere mutant. He can do far more than famous Jean Grey and Professor X could dream, yet, he does not wish to gather attention nor glory. He´s fine in remain in the shadows.
Magneto once insulted Nightcrawler, was that an insult? Either way, Kurt Wagner destroyed Genosha. Putting ideas in the right people and creating the right weather.
"Genosha is destroyed and Magneto is mad...muttering something about IT" Betsy informed with grief, Brian take his mask off and mourns, no one notices Kurt Wagner smiling wickedly.
________________________________________________________________________________
The X-men and Excalibur have a collaboration, a simple mission in Germany, as Nightcrawler lead them to the designated area, it was so calm and ...boring. Kurt wanted to spice things up(he heard so much about Cyclops and Wolverine) so, no one could expect a shadow monster out of nowhere who begins feasting on the people around.
Kurt Wagner watches the scene amused, no one notices as Scott and Wolverine, finally, take down the monster.
"Gut, gut, the mission is not boring" Kurt mutters amused.
________________________________________________________________________
George and Martha Wagner were by no means rich, George´s job was enough to keep them going, but, is not enough, one day, George suffers an accident and the doctors can´t fix the problem.
Kurt arrives and looks at his father in pain. Martha hugs her son and sobs as is possible George won´t walk ever again. Kurt won´t stand by this. And using his powers(to heal? something new) heal the injuries.
"Kurt? Since when you can do this?" George asked free of pain.
"For a while" Kurt answers sincerely. Is the first time he ever heal a person. Ever since that episode, George and Martha´s luck increase.
_________________________________________________________________________
"Kurt, do you have a religion?" someone asked as Kurt finish the conversation with people wearing a cloak, the Szardos is hard discreet and subtle and Kurt is perfectly fine in ignoring him.
"I´d not" his answer was too quickly and he ponders for a moment. "but I´ll share a secret, I love Zaorva" Kurt smiles and the lights went off as the person steps back "that´s a secret and you will keep this secret forever" Kurt smiles grows and no one speaks about that person. In fact, is almost as that person never existed.
_________________________________________________________________________
Shadowcat is a peculiar member of X-men. She´s not from here, that´s a given("oh, I´m from ...Belgium" "you don´t sound from there" "Then the Netherlands?") and lately, is speaking fondly of Excalibur.
"Kitty, you can´t just go to Excalibur like that...there´s protocols" Scott explained, Kitty´s eyes turned azure as she repeats her request and suddenly, Scott pipes in from his paperwork "Actually, they do have an open vacation now, why I don´t give Betsy a call and pull some strings?"
Kitty smiles and thanks, Scott. She phases through the door and, out of blue, Scott feels like he´s awake and Betsy´s voice is speaking on the phone.
"Uhm, sure, we can take Shadowcat if you insist" Betsy speak and Scott has no idea what this means but deep down knows he needs to agree or else....
______________________________________________________________________________
Kurt Wagner is hardly a virgin and hardly gives any care for those women. He wants something no one can give. Models, famous actress, prostitutes, no woman can measure to his obsession.
"Zaorva!" is the name he calls when he´s climaxing either in bed or...doing something else.
__________________________________________________________________________
One day, on  Excalibur Betsy, introduces Shadowcat, she didn´t shake anyone hand(rather bizarre, she licks Brian´s hand) and goes to each member looking at Cerise(cowing in fear as if Kitty, a petite, could snap her bones) and then at Kurt...She stops at a moment as his golden eyes are a lock on her person.
Something clicks on him. Fat tears fall from her eyes as Kurt offers a serene smile.
"My love, I´ve finally met you" she hugs him and everyone one is forgotten. Kurt hugs back.
"You´re real!" he speaks smelling her hair, feeling her skin, so smooth, and looking at her azure eyes. "You´re real, how?" is all he can ask before kissing Kitty again.
No one thinks is odd as Excalibur can´t think or move.
________________________________________________________________________________
There´s no Cthulu´s cult as Zaorva devoured the deity of darkness and his cult was dispatched through space and time.
"How did you found me?" Kurt asked holding her hand.
"I can feel your energy, I can feel when you...workship my name, every night, every day" Kurt blushes.
"And I found you. You silly pharaoh, I found you"
"You found me, my love"

13x18: Bring ‘em Back Alive
Then:
Tumblr media
Ketch rescues Gabriel from the evil clutches of Colonel Asmodeus, and Cas is MIA.
Now:
Tumblr media
Dean and Ketch make it through the rift and into the AU. Dean isn’t so sure about where they are, and instead of listening to Ketch’s insolent lip, he tells him to take a hike. Ketch asks to help find Jack, and wistfully, Mary. He did have a soft spot for her --and doesn’t seem to mind she put a bullet through his forehead (and according to Dean, would do so again in a heartbeat.)
As they wander, they notice angels and their human captives on a bridge. The angels quickly dispatch two of the humans, when the angel commander stops the final execution. Dean sees the captive before we do and utters, “no.”
CHARLIE!!!!
Tumblr media
I’ve got my fingers in my ears over the discourse that this isn’t our Charlie and the showrunners are so proud of themselves for making things right. I get it. I really do ---but I’m just too happy to have any version of her on my screen again that I’m just going to play in this sandbox. (And I’m still 1000% pissed over how they killed her in the first place.)
Also, is the commander AU!Cas?
Anyway, AU!Charlie appears to be a higher-up in the resistance. She knows where Jack and Mary are. The angels flap off with their hostage before Dean can get to her.
Back at the bunker, Cas is back from parts unknown and EXTRA salty his husband is in the AU alone. (Sam: He’s with Ketch!) (Us: lol.)
Tumblr media
Sam insists that they need to focus on Gabriel, not Dean. (Lol, “In love with humanity” Castiel is totally on board with this idea.)
Tumblr media
Gabriel is a tortured soul. He is a huddled, non-verbal mess. Sam tries helping by recalling some probable triggering moments for Gabriel and then tries to entice him with his grace. No takers.
In heaven, Anael is done with Lucifer’s bullshit. He’s busy playing card games, waiting for angels to worship him. Dumah shows up and conducts a little family therapy. (Because they’re siblings, right? Aren’t angels seen as siblings to each other? Like, stop you gross writers.)
Tumblr media
Lucifer asks about how the search for Jack is going. Dumah admits that they don’t have enough angels to find him. Luci refused to hear that, and she aquieces. Anael and Dumah exchange a look. BRB, Imma just making my heaven campaign signs: Anael+Dumah 2018!
In the throne room, Asmodeus is pissed that Ketch got the better of him and stole the archangel. And then he mentions that they’re connected, they’re “blood brothers.” So, Asmodeus can sense Gabriel’s presence because he’s taken his grace? Interesting. Is it the grace injections --or just any type of grace influence?
Dean is on a mission, and while Ketch recommends stealth, Dean dismisses him. Dean is hellbent on finding Charlie. Ketch sees right through this duty of Dean’s to see the personal mission underneath. Yeah, Dean is usually right but he can act recklessly when his emotions are compromised. He has A LOT of guilt about his Charlie.
The snowy AU world is so pretty. I’m sure it wasn’t fun to work in, but I bet production was over the moon with the snowy setting giving everything an even grayer and more apocalyptic feeling.
Dean trundles ahead, and gets shot for his impulsiveness. Ketch, and all his MOL stealth training takes down Dean’s assailant long enough for Dean to recover. They ask the man where he was going to take Dean.
Tumblr media
It seems that there is a POW camp about 5 hours away.
Cas enters Gabriel’s room, only to find it covered in Enochian letters.
Tumblr media
Gabe wrote out his story since his “death” in season 5. He escaped, yadda, yadda, yadda, Asmodeus captured and tortured him.
Lucifer is all cleaned up and ready to play God. He hones in on an exorcism, and heaven forbid demon #4332 is mistaken for Satan! He intervenes, shoos the demon away, and gets no love from the priests, so he smokes them. Oops.
On their walk, Dean clues Ketch in on angel killing bullets, and Ketch clues Dean in on his festering bullet wound slowly killing him. Luckily, Ketch recognizes the poison the bullet was covered in, and sets to making an antidote.
Tumblr media
Cas tries jumpstarting Gabe into feeling better, to no avail.
And in the most pre-episode controversial scene of the night, Sam sits down with Gabriel and tries to make him understand what’s at stake.
Tumblr media
There’s a real parallel to these two wayward brothers. They both wanted out. But Sam recognized that his family needed him. There’s no getting out of this mess. He tries making it clear to Gabriel that his family needs him to step up and help. (He also says, “I need you.” and lo, Twitter was aflame. I’ll admit to being salty for diminishing those famous words until I read @tinkdw post about Dean and the need for him to use clearer words. I felt much better!) (Also, I just feel so BAD for Sam. Like, I know he’s driven to find purpose in his crazy, stupid life --don’t we all? But, he wants out so bad. Give him balance and a partner to normalize his world a little! Blerg.)
Gabe activates what little grace he has, and Asmodeus locates him. (So much for all that fucking warding, Men of Letters!)
Dean and Ketch are still on the move. Ketch insists that Dean rest and Dean...pushes onward until he collapses. As he tends to do.
Tumblr media
Been there, buddy.
Ketch tries to tease out the Charlie issue and suggests heading back to the bunker to rest and try again later. (Which is a very sound suggestion if we weren’t all weeping CHARLIE over here.) Dean explains just how important Charlie is to us - I mean...him - and the weight of his guilt over her death. We get a flashback to Charlie lying dead in the bathtub which...thanks, show. We needed that reminder. Ketch claims to understand how Dean feels. I'm still having trouble believing that Ketch feels much of anything? If he's headed on a redemption arc then I guess I'll accept it but otherwise I just don't trust him. Like, at ALL. (Boris: Remember when Ketch killed Eileen? I do. All the damn time.)
Aesthetic break:
Tumblr media
Charlie, meanwhile, is being interrogated in some old shack. They ask her for the location of the resistance base and she spits back, “Bite me!” Fuck yeah, that's our girl <3
Tumblr media
Back with Team Free Gabe, Gabriel sips his archangel juice like a good boy and seems slightly more sane. Suddenly Asmodeus calls Sam and smears his smarminess all over the scene. He gives Sam ten minutes to hand over Gabriel.
Tumblr media
Upstairs, Lucifer rants about the whole world order. Humans. Demons. Angels. He's going to devote himself to finding Jack, use his powers to remake the world, and...BOOM happy ending achieved. Anael tells him to stop bitching and make good on his promises. For example, give angels their wings back. Lucifer admits that's impossible. Wherps. Anael tells him, essentially, to go fuck himself and splits in short order.
Tumblr media
Dean and Ketch find the camp just in time to see prisoners lined up for execution. The angels tie Charlie to the post first, pronounce their sentence and...
Tumblr media
Dean and Ketch make their move. They race into the compound, guns a-blazin', and take out most of the angels in short order. The commander flaps away while Dean unties Charlie and whisks her out of the camp. (By the way, I am 100% on board with the Commander-is-AU-Cas meta.)
Jump back to Gabriel. (SO many jumps in this episode.) The bunker's warning lights blaze and sigils gleam on the walls. Asmodeus has begun his assault on the bunker. Cas and Sam check it out and get surprised by a cadre of demons. They take the demons out quickly, only to have Asmodeus flick them across the room with a flip of his pinky. Two other demons drag in a battered Gabriel and present him to a smug and threatening Asmodeus. Ew. It's looking dire for our heroes when Gabe's eyes begin to glow. Suddenly he insta-heals himself and drags out his wings for a dominance display. Asmodeus tries to fry him but Gabriel kentucky-fries him instead, sending him up in flames. Phew! Done and done, right?
Tumblr media
Back in the AU, Charlie asks about our Charlie. Like Ketch, she tries to tease out why Dean's so invested in her well being. Were they...a thing? Nope. Charlie was into chicks. AU!Charlie softens. She can get on board with that. (Aw, Charlie) Anyway, Charlie tells Dean that Jack and his mom were last seen around Dayton, Ohio. And she also doesn't believe Dean’s wacky story about alternate universes...until she sees the glowing rift hanging out in the middle of the road.
In the bunker, Cas tries to convince Gabe to join their fight against AU!Michael's possible incursion. “You cannot turn your back on your father's creation,” Cas insists but Gabe tells them...like father, like son. He flaps outta there.
The rift starts to sputter. It's time to head back home. Ketch tells Dean to go back without him and he'll go save Mary and Jack. (Urgh I really, really do not trust him. He gets himself over to the AU so casually...so easily. With Dean gone, there won't be anyone to keep a wary eye on him. What's he up to? I seriously can't believe he's just...out to save people.) Anyway, I got distracted by my deep distrust of Ketch. Um...also Charlie isn't going back to Dean’s world.
Tumblr media
Dean is us, guys. Dean is US. It makes sense that Charlie is staying and fighting for/with her friends. But like Dean, we really want her back any way we can get her. (Me: plugs my ears and ignores people who tell me Felicia Day is super busy with her baby and The Magicians and probably a billion other things. Mumbles line about “anyone can come back on Supernatural.”)
This does give us some very good Dean pain which, I'm almost ashamed to say, makes me very happy. Dean gets back to the bunker, shakes off Sam's and Cas's concern, and asks after Gabe. They tell him that Gabe's gone...and so is the rest of his grace. Dean takes it very, very well.
Tumblr media
“Every time we get close, it always falls apart,” Dean says, despairing. And so we get their next mission: find Gabriel.
Son of a Quotes!
Champ, when the resistance crushes you, I’m gonna be there to shred your feathers and grind them into dust.
I just got spin cycled through space and time.
Sam, I don't think he's gonna open up and let the choo choo in.
Charlie was like family. She was a sister to me.
You might as well go back to the cage.
It's been...uh...what's the opposite of fun? ...That.

Beric Dondarrion will give the Kiss of Life to Sansa Stark
February 26, 2018
Why is Beric Dondarrion still alive on the show?
Answer: He's still alive to give the kiss of life to one of Catelyn Stark’s daughters.
A STONY HEART
There have been many theories put forth for why Beric Dondarrion is still alive on the show. He died in Book 3 of the series and so should have exited stage left in season 3.  However, that was not the case and so the writers must have kept him around for a reason.  The obvious explanation is that he will give the kiss of life to a character on the show as he did to Catelyn in the books.  In fact, Beric’s most important role in the books was to bring back Arya and Sansa’s mother—an event that did not happen on the show.  And yet, the writers included him and his story in the show.  Why?
Some have proposed that at Jon’s behest, he will bring back Dany or that possibly she will ask him to do the same for Jon. Other theories suggest that Beric will give the kiss of life to the Hound, Brienne or even Tormund.  However, all of these theories have missed the obvious and most thematic explanation for why the Lightning Lord overstayed his time on screen and that is his book link to Lady Stoneheart and as a result, the Stark daughters. What I propose is that D&D kept him alive for the singular purpose of giving the kiss of life to one of Catelyn Stark’s daughters.
In the books, Arya’s arc is most closely tied to that of her mother.  Her direwolf Nymeria drags Catelyn’s dead body out of the water while Arya is unknowingly having one of her wolf dreams.  She has numerous other dreams where she sees the events of the Riverlands through Nymeria’s eyes.  Arya also previously travelled with the Brotherhood Without Banners and Lady Stoneheart of course, currently leads the group.
The fact that book Arya’s story is so closely intertwined with that of her mom would seem to suggest that it would be her who is given the kiss of life by Beric on the show.  However, in both the books and on the show, it can be argued that Sansa is the daughter who is symbolically most closely tied to Catelyn.  Of the Stark children, she is the most enamored of southern customs and is more like her mother in temperament and looks than any of the other children.
"Sansa was a lady at three, always so courteous and eager to please. She loved nothing so well as tales of knightly valor. Men would say she had my look, but she will grow into a woman far more beautiful than I ever was, you can see that. I often sent away her maid so I could brush her hair myself. She had auburn hair, lighter than mine, and so thick and soft . . . the red in it would catch the light of the torches and shine like copper.
A Clash of Kings - Catelyn VII
Catelyn’s words are shown to be true when Petyr Baelish meets Sansa for the first time.  Littlefinger is actually unnerved at how much she looks like her mom.
When Sansa finally looked up, a man was standing over her, staring. He was short, with a pointed beard and a silver streak in his hair, almost as old as her father. "You must be one of her daughters," he said to her. He had grey-green eyes that did not smile when his mouth did. "You have the Tully look."
"I'm Sansa Stark," she said, ill at ease. The man wore a heavy cloak with a fur collar, fastened with a silver mockingbird, and he had the effortless manner of a high lord, but she did not know him. "I have not had the honor, my lord."
Septa Mordane quickly took a hand. "Sweet child, this is Lord Petyr Baelish, of the king's small council."
"Your mother was my queen of beauty once," the man said quietly. His breath smelled of mint. "You have her hair." His fingers brushed against her cheek as he stroked one auburn lock. Quite abruptly he turned and walked away.
A Game of Thrones - Sansa II
Tumblr media
Sansa’s likeness to her mom is also shown to be true on the show as the writers have gone out of their way to emphasize the similarities between mother and daughter…especially in the last two season where they have dressed and written scenes for both Sansa and Jon that echo ones with Catelyn and Ned.
Tumblr media
And so for this reason—along with others both on the show and in the books, I propose that the daughter Beric brings back will be Sansa after she is potentially killed by the Night’s King Icy sword but more likely as a result of the machinations of Cersei.
From the time they reunited in season 6, the writers have highlighted Jon’s pledge to protect Sansa and her belief that he can’t as according to her, “no one can protect anyone.”  The seeds of this story arc were planted in season 4 after Joffrey’s murder and Cersei’s discovery that Sansa was missing.
Tumblr media
The writers have also made sure to point out the danger she poses to Sansa in each season as shown in season 5x01 when Petyr sold Sansa out to the Boltons.
Tumblr media
However, these seeds did not start to bear fruit until season 6, episode 9 when Sansa and Jon argued in private after the war council.
Sansa: “If Ramsay wins, I’m not going back there alive. Do you understand me?”
Jon: “I won’t ever let him touch you again. I’ll protect you. I promise!”
Sansa: “No one can protect me. No one can protect anyone.”
D&D reinforced the idea of Sansa being in danger in season 7, episode 2.  This time they went the extra step of bringing up Ned and how he was unable to protect any of his children.  It can be argued that it’s a tinfoil idea to say that Cersei will have Sansa kidnap and yet that is exactly what I propose will happen.  The foundation for it happening is laid in this dialogue between Jon and Sansa.
Jon: What did father used to say…anything before the word but was horse shit.
Sansa: He never said that to me.
Jon: Yeah, no, he never cursed in front of his girls.
Sansa: Because he was trying to protect us.  He never wanted us to see how dirty the world really is but father couldn’t protect me and neither can you. So stop trying!
Jon: Ok, I’ll stop trying to protect you and you stop trying to undermine me.
Sansa: I’m not trying to undermine you. You have to be smarter than father. You have to be smarter than Rob. I loved them! I miss them! But they both made stupid mistakes and lost their heads for it.
Jon: And how should I be smarter…by listening to you?
Sansa: Would that be so terrible?
The maester then arrives with a dispatch from Cersei and we then get this bit of conversation.
Tumblr media
Sansa: What does she want?
Jon: Come to Kings Landing! Bend the knee or suffer the fate of all traitors.
Sansa: You’ve been so consumed with the enemy to the north that you’ve forgotten the one to the south.
Jon: I’m consumed with the Night King because I’ve seen him.  And believe me, you’ll think of little else if you had to.
Sansa: We still have a wall between us and the Night King. There is nothing between us and Cersei.
Jon: There is a thousand miles between us and Cersei. Winter is here and the Lannister are a southern army. They’ve never ranged this far north.
Sansa: You’re the military man but I know her.  If you’re her enemy, she’ll never stop until she’s destroyed you.  Everyone who’s ever crossed her, she’s found a way to murder.
Jon: You almost sound like you admire her.
Sansa: I learned a great deal from her.
The potential danger Cersei represents to Sansa is again emphasized in episode 7x06 during the conversation between Brienne and the Lady of Winterfell.
Tumblr media
Brienne: My Lady, you are the Lady of Winterfell
Sansa: I am.  And you will represent my interest at this gathering as you see them.
Brienne: They invited you. They want you there.
Sansa: I will not set foot in Kings Landing while Cersei Lannister is queen.  If they want another Stark prisoner, they can come and take me.
All the scenes I’ve listed build upon the seeds planted all the way back in season 4. When taken together, the dialogue actually reads like a discussion in script writing 101 on how to lay the foundation for a future event.  It also suggests that Jon does not understand the specific threat Cersei represents to Sansa or the possibility that the Lannister army may indeed range north for the first time under her orders, which is what I proposed will happen.  However, instead of the regular Lannister army, I think it may be some of the Golden Company on a special mission to retrieve something or in this case someone Cersei thinks belong to her as hinted in episode 7x04.
Cersei: My Hand Qyburn has made overtures to the Golden Company in Essos.
Tycho Nestoris: I know them well. They have helped us recover significant sums from parties who have fallen into deep arrears.
Cersei: That’s good to hear. I too would like them to recover some things that belonged to me.
Game of Thrones 7x04
I think that Cersei might have meant both Sansa and Tyrion in her conversation with Tycho but she seems to have come to an understanding with her brother—at least for now.
Yes, kidnapping Sansa sounds like a stupid idea but I think that is just what Cersei will ordered done and it will happen when Jon sends Sansa away from Winterfell to either the Vale or White Harbor for protection in advance of the White Walker’s attack.  And truthfully, is stupidity not Cersei Lannister’s second name. In the books, she may very well die long before the final battle but the show has made Cersei into a more omnipotent character and she still has damage to do in season 8.
The interesting thing is that both Jon and Sansa are right about the enemies they face.  He is right that the Night King is the most important threat and the Lannister army has never ventured that far north.  And she is most definitely right that Cersei never forgets anyone who has crossed her. Just think of Ellaria and Lady Nym.  In fact, I would not be surprised to see Cersei lock Sansa in the same cell.
Tumblr media
As far as Cersei is concerned, Sansa is unfinished business and a Lannister always pay their debts.  She may even have tried to tempt Sansa into her clutches with an invitation to the council at Kings Landing but the Lady of Winterfell sent Brienne as her representative instead.  They never actually told the audience who sent the invite to Sansa but it was more than likely Cersei because Jon knows how Sansa feels about Kings Landing and would never ask her to go to a place with such bad memories.
D&D have actually done a pretty good job peppering the story with clues that that Sansa will once again end up in Cersei’s clutches before the end.  I don’t think they will meet again in the books but on the show, it makes thematic sense for it to happen.
KISSED BY FIRE
The writing on the wall strongly suggests that Beric will give the kiss of life to someone before he exists stage left.  As he was the one to bring Catelyn back in the books, it makes the most sense that he would do the same for one of her daughters on the show.  Let’s look at why the daughter given the kiss of life is likely to be Sansa and not Arya. Here are the thoughts of book Sansa’s as she escapes Kings Landing following Joffrey’s murder.
He had not been dead when she left the throne room. He had been on his knees, though, clawing at his throat, tearing at his own skin as he fought to breathe. The sight of it had been too terrible to watch, and she had turned and fled, sobbing. Lady Tanda had been fleeing as well. "You have a good heart, my lady," she said to Sansa. "Not every maid would weep so for a man who set her aside and wed her to a dwarf."
A good heart. I have a good heart. Hysterical laughter rose up her gullet, but Sansa choked it back down. The bells were ringing, slow and mournful. Ringing, ringing, ringing. They had rung for King Robert the same way. Joffrey was dead, he was dead, he was dead, dead, dead. Why was she crying, when she wanted to dance? Were they tears of joy?
She found her clothes where she had hidden them, the night before last. With no maids to help her, it took her longer than it should have to undo the laces of her gown. Her hands were strangely clumsy, though she was not as frightened as she ought to have been. "The gods are cruel to take him so young and handsome, at his own wedding feast," Lady Tanda had said to her.
The gods are just, thought Sansa. Robb had died at a wedding feast as well. It was Robb she wept for. Him and Margaery. Poor Margaery, twice wed and twice widowed. Sansa slid her arm from a sleeve, pushed down the gown, and wriggled out of it. She balled it up and shoved it into the bole of an oak, shook out the clothing she had hidden there. Dress warmly, Ser Dontos had told her, and dress dark. She had no blacks, so she chose a dress of thick brown wool. The bodice was decorated with freshwater pearls, though. The cloak will cover them. The cloak was a deep green, with a large hood. She slipped the dress over her head, and donned the cloak, though she left the hood down for the moment. There were shoes as well, simple and sturdy, with flat heels and square toes. The gods heard my prayer, she thought. She felt so numb and dreamy. My skin has turned to porcelain, to ivory, to steel.
— A Storm of Swords - Sansa V
Littlefinger then stole Sansa away to the Vale where she took on the identity of his bastard daughter, Alayne Stone.  The Vale arc was of course highly condensed on the show.   However, the writers made the point to emphasize that Sansa’s heart had hardened in ways that have not yet been shown in the books. Her hardened heart has toughen her up and she is out for vengeance for herself and her family. On the show, this led to her letting the dogs loose on Ramsay and sentencing Petyr to death.  As she said to everyone in the room when she sentenced Petyr, honor demands that…
“I defend my family from those who would harm us.”
“That I defend the north from those who will betray us.”
I theorize that Sansa Stark, the Lady of Winterfell who once went by the name of Alayne Stone; who looks so much like her mother—a point that has been reinforced on the show in her costume and hair styles since she escaped Kings Landing but especially since she returned to the north; and whose heart has hardened because of her trauma and what was done to her family; will be killed after being kidnapped on the orders of Cersei and will be brought back after she is given the kiss of life by Beric Dondarrion.  Lady Stoneheart anyone!
I believe that this will be how D&D reimagines Catelyn’s death and resurrection. Only of course, when Sansa comes back, she will not be like the deteriorated corpse that was her mother.  The show has vastly over simplified both Jon and Beric’s resurrections and the deteriorating effect the many returns have had on the latter.  When Sansa is brought back, I believe that her physical body will be just like show Jon in that to the naked eye it will look as if nothing much has changed from one life to the next.  Of course, underneath, that will not be true.
I speculate that the attempt to rescue Sansa will be made by Arya—possibly with Jaime’s face where she will play the Valonqar and kill Cersei; the Hound who will finally have the Clegane Bowl showdown with his brother; and Jon who will desperately ask Beric to bring Sansa back.  This will of course echo the events of Ygritte dying in Jon’s arm except this time around, the outcome will be different as Sansa will return.
I believe that this rescue of Sansa from Kings Landing will represent D&D’s version of a similar attempt to rescue her from the Vale in the books.  In the books of course, I don’t think that Arya will be present but if you read my previous 3-part essay, “Do Direwolves Dream of the Weirwood Net” then you know that I am of the opinion that Sansa is the modern day Nissa Nissa, and that she has been moving in and out of the Weirwood Net with Lady in what she thinks are simply dreams.
And so, I am most excited to see if this theory about Sansa plays out on the show as it would mean that I am on the right track with my hypothesis that she is the modern day Nissa Nissa, and a greenseer.  In part 3 of my Direwolves essay, I also laid out the hints in the book that Jon will be in the Vale and others in the fandom have of course written about the clues that suggests the Hound is already there in disguise.  For this reason, it makes sense that the two of them will be the ones who attempt to rescue Sansa from Kings Landing.  You can check out part 3 HERE.
Most everything from the past is repeating in some manner and if I’m right about Sansa and Nissa Nissa, then it makes sense that she will die and be brought back. Does this mean that I also think that she dies and is brought back in the books?  Possibly but not necessarily.
Having Sansa die on the show would be a simplification of what I think is happening in the books on the part of D&D.  In the books I think that Lady’s death may have been the symbolic representation of Sansa’s death/sacrifice that opened her third eye, which has allowed her to unknowingly enter the Net.  As is the case with Jon and Ghost, the direwolves and the Stark kids are part of each other.  My theory is that Lady is now in the Weirwood Net and when Sansa visits Winterfell in her dreams, she is traveling through it with her direwolf.  “The bones remember.”
Once D&D didn’t kill Beric but more importantly, move him into the arc of the north, it seemed obvious that he was kept around to bring back one of Catelyn’s daughter and I believe that Sansa’s being the symbolic modern day Nissa Nissa will be why it is her who gets the kiss of life on the show.  And as Beric has the fire of R’llor in him, one can argue that literally and figuratively, Sansa Stark will be “kissed by fire.”
Now in the books, I think that there is more to this Wilding saying and I’ve been pondering the possibility that it has something to do with the ability to enter in and out of the Net without having to be wedded to the trees as is the case with Bran and other greenseers.  I will have to do so more digging to see if I’m on the right track with that theory.
I don’t see Beric bringing back any of the other characters mentioned in the numerous theories out there. He will not bring back Jon, who I don’t think will die again.  He’s dead already and “what is dead can never die.”  Beric also will not bring back the Hound, who could die, but I don’t think will, as I suspect that he will take on the mantle of Elder Brother.  I also don’t think he will bring back Brienne, who I used to think would die on the show but I’m now not so sure.
And unfortunately, I also don’t think that he will bring back Dany who will help win the battle for the dawn but I suspect that she will die soon afterwards.  She is the fire queen and as was the case with Rhaenys and Meraxes, I believe that Dany will die when her and her dragon plummets from the Sky into the Dragon Pit—possibly after being hit by a spear by one of Qyburn’s catapults.  Rhaenys died when a bolt pierced Meraxes eye and I think that it will be the same with Dany and Drogon.
D&D tipped to Dany’s death in Tyrion’s warning to her and the missed attempt by the Night King to bring down Drogon with a spear.  They laid out the hints of where her death will happen with the comments from Jorah about the dragons as the group approach the pit during the summit and of course with her later conversation with Jon in said pit.
Now I know that many will argue that the dragon pit scene is about Dany becoming pregnant with Jon’s kid and I suspect that will happen on the show.  However, I’m also of the opinion that she will miscarry the baby, which will echo the suggestion in the books of the same thing unknowingly happening to her in the Dothraki sea.
youtube
So, that’s my explanation for Beric’s continued purpose on the show and prediction of how things will play out.  What do you think?  Could D&D be going the Lady Stoneheart route with Sansa?  Will they give her detractors another reason to hate on her by having her, instead of Dany be the one who gets the kiss of life?  If you are a Sansa fan, look on the bright side.  At least those who don’t like the character will finally have to acknowledge her importance to the story.

Westworld 2x07: Robbin in the Cradle
Tumblr media
I really don't like these silent previously ons as they only work to reinforce the idea that this show is really just a series of meaningless images. We really had a nice moment in the sun there with those two episodes that had tight central storylines, but now we have returned to the grim darkness of endlessly unspooling mythology and plot. To its credit though this episode did do quite a bit of explaining and even a bit of direct question answering, although of course those answers only led to new questions. What did we expect though honestly. I know I pledged to you at the beginning of this journey that I wouldn't look at anyone else's writing about this season, but I wound up having to use Insider's incredible Westworld Timeline (which you can see here) to orient myself before writing this.
Tumblr media
The past few episodes have all taken place largely on the same "present" timeline, but it's not really the "present", as this episode reminded us there is an even more "present present". In case you forgot (as I sort of did), the REAL present timeline is the events happening eleven days after Ford's death, beginning with Bernard washing up on the beach. We still don't know how he got there, possibly it has something to do with the mass drowning of the other hosts. Everything else we have seen, Bernard and Shannon's super annoying hangouts, Maeve's epic journey to Shogun World, and Dolores' assault on the Mesa, has been a flashback. In our "present" timeline, the Eleven Days After Ford's Death, or 11 AF, we don't know the fates of Dolores or Maeve, we don't know where Abernathy's control unit is, and we don't know what happened to the other hosts. This episode opens in the most current present timeline, where Bernard and Luke Hemsworth have been brought back to the Mesa after finding Bernard on the beach. Luke has a bad feeling abut what's going on with Delos employees (Skarsgard, Fares Fares, Tessa Thompson), he thinks they care more about whatever tech they are trying to find than actually extracting anyone from the park. And how right he is, because no sooner does he make this declaration than the Delos crew cuff Bernard and Luke and drag them out to the secret cabin where Bernard killed Theresa in season one. Bernard is once again outed as a host in this location when a secret room is discovered FILLED with Bernard's own dead bodies. Oops. This was an interesting reveal because it shows Bernard has met a violent end many times before. Yes we saw him come back from a gunshot wound to the head, but the room of Bernard Bodies suggests that this is not the first time he has met an untimely fate. Now that Tessa Thompson knows Bernard's a host, she begins interrogating him regarding the location of Abernathy's control unit (containing the code that Delos desperately wants). Tessa wants Bernard to tell her what he remembers from Dolores' assault on the Mesa, when she took the control unit, and thusly the events of the rest of the episode are framed.
Tumblr media
We now knowingly jump back to where we left off in the previous episode, with Dolores' group of rogue hosts storming the Mesa, Tessa trying to remove the control unit from Abernathy, and Bernard inside the cradle talking to Ford. Bernard and Ford proceed to have a very expositional conversation which actually provided some real answers! First of all we know now it was Ford's personality inside the red ball and this was all a part of his grand plan (obvi). He also tell's Bernard that while the human/host hybrid can't function in the physical world (ala Peter Mullan), that human programs can exist inside the cradle. Bernard also realizes the purpose of Westworld is to test human response and reaction in order to try and make coded copies of them. The hosts operate on loops as a 'control' so data about the visitors reactions can be taken. Delos is coding hosts and decoding guests! I bet someone was real proud of that turn of phrase, hey I would be. So what is the purpose of all this? Eternal life for those who can afford a copy of themselves? Could the cradle stand in as a sort of digital heaven, a San Junipero if you will? Ford tells Bernard that the oft talked about 'Valley Beyond' is the end of his story, and that Bernard knows there's no escape for him. In the cradle Ford also shows Bernard the finished version of the house he was building in an earlier flashback, the one in the mystery city that he brings Dolores to. Here we get another reveal that the letterbox scene at the beginning of last week's episode was Dolores testing  Bernard's fidelity, something she did within the cradle to help perfect Bernard's personality to Arnold's. I was surprised we got such a straightforward answer to this, and I assume we will be seeing more of Dolores' testing conversations with Bernard in episodes to come. Anyway the revelations end when Ford takes control of Bernard and hitches a ride in his control unit back into the real world to continue executing his plan.
Tumblr media
Back on the ranch (literally), Maeve finds herself running once again from the Ghost Nation warriors with her daughter in tow. But as she hides with the little girl, who should come walking around the house than the Man in Black. It was the Man in Black's brutal assault on her and her daughter in a previous storyline that led to Maeve's malfunctioning and eventual reassignment to Sweetwater. The Man in Black and his crew have very conveniently arrived in the same village, also in pursuit of the Ghost Nation, at the same time that Maeve is reliving her most traumatic memory. Upon discovering Maeve, the MIB immediately suspects this is part of Ford's game, despite Maeve's believe she is acting independently. Even though Maeve is able to get some shots off against the MIB, and even turn his own men against him, I have to agree that the whole thing feels a little TOO coincidental to be chance. First the MIB reunites with his estranged daughter who blames him for the death of her mother, and then he just so happens to run into the daughter and mother he mercilessly destroyed in the park? The whole affair simply smacks of Ford's meddling. And yes, even though Maeve is in control of her own choices, she HAS been motivated purely by an overwhelming drive to find her daughter, a drive that stopped her from escaping and has set her on a very specific course through the park. ANYWAY Maeve almost succeeds in killing the MIB once in for all after she gets Clifton Collins Jr to recall all the abuse he has suffered at his hands in past storylines. The MIB is badly wounded when Simon's cavalry arrives, gunning down both CCJ and Maeve. In the fracas the Man in Black crawls away, and Maeve's daughter is once again inevitably captured by the Ghost Nation. Maeve however is rescued by Simon as he knows she is special, but also I think because he has gotten a bit attached to her.
Tumblr media
Finally we arrive at Dolores' attack on the base, where she and her crew of hosts easily dispatch Coughlin's men. Their mission is both to secure Abernathy's control unit, and also destroy the Cradle thereby also destroying all the host backups and freeing them from ever being 'restored'. Bad!Teddy is on full display, and boy o boy is he bad and also hot! Capable, deadly, wearing all black, these are things I look for in a man. I don't know what Dolores is so butt hurt about, she made him SO much better! Dolores' takeover of the base culminates with her facing off against Luke Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in the lab where Abernathy is being kept. Even though there is a nothing but animosity between the two characters, seeing Dolores and Tessa square off again made me think that maybe a Westworld/San Junipero IS a good idea. I AM JUST SAYING. Tessa is saved from a last minute lobotomy by Abernathy coming to and calling out to his daughter. Dolores and her father share a touching moment together before she tearfully kills him and takes his control unit. Elsewhere in the base the battle between host and solider rages on with Clementine getting fatally gunned down and Talulah Riley suffering a major wound. Talulah carries on her mission to destroy the core and is able to defeat one of Coughlin's soldiers (who has her cornered) through THE POWER OF SEDUCTION. Honestly this scene drove me crazy, like I know she is hot and all but this guy just watched her murder all of his comrades! She is a killer! Also she is standing in a pool of her own blood! There is a huge hole in her torso! Even though I appreciated her 'cool girl' monologue, I couldn't get behind that this tactic would actually work. I mean I know men are trash, but COME ON, how stupid can you be? Anyway she uses one of his grenades to blow up the cradle and the two of them in the process. Boy bai.
Tumblr media
While this is happening Bernard, under the control of Ford, ditches Shannon Woodward and slaughters a ton of Delos dudes. He then proceeds to go to the map room and shuts down the entire park! Meanwhile on her way out Dolores runs into a wounded immobile Maeve lying on a stretcher. Dolores offers to kill Maeve and set her free from her pain, but Maeve insists she has made a promise (to her daughter). Methinks this is not the last time these two will cross paths. Simon is miraculously able to survive all of this via hiding, truly his abilities are cockroach-like. Now that we have seen the entire saga of Dolores' destruction of the base, we return to the present where Bernard tells Tessa the area location of Abernathy's control unit. Tessa is smug, thinking she finally has the upper hand, but of course we know that it is more than likely Ford is acting through Bernard to move the players around his game board. Bernard of course has no reason to know where Dolores is heading, after all as we saw ourselves the two had no interaction when she was in the base. The only way he knows where she is taking the control unit, is because Ford knows too.
Tumblr media
Final thoughts, everything that is happening seems to be a part of Ford's master plan. Everyone, consciously or not, is playing his game. We know the conclusion to his narrative is at the Valley Beyond, but what that means or what his real designs are remain to be seen. Also it's notable that no one has successfully left the park, or really even tried to. Is this because, as I now suspect, the location of the parks makes easy exit near impossible? I wonder particularly why Luke Hemsworth, whose spidey senses are justifiably tingling, doesn't simply exit stage left. I miss Shogun World honestly.

The Most Excruciating ‘Succession’ Dinner Scenes, Ranked by Distress
8. Mom’s home cooking, Season 2, Episode 7, “Return”
Facing a possible shareholder rebellion, patriarch Logan (Brian Cox) dispatches Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) to England to convince their mother — and major shareholder of Waystar Royco — Caroline (Harriet Walker) not to side with opponents Stewy Hosseini (Arian Moayed) and Sandy Furness (Larry Pine), who are waging a proxy war against Logan. The two youngest Roys dutifully cross the Atlantic to visit their mother, who we last saw asking guests at Shiv’s and Tom’s wedding how long they predicted the marriage would last.
Food: Instead of a 48-ounce T-bone steak with truffle fries, Caroline dishes up that classic combination of pigeon, potatoes, and wine. ★☆☆☆
Ambiance: Honestly, as transparently transactional as this exchange is, it’s pretty par for the course for this family, so there’s a comforting kind of casualness to the meal. Almost homey, one could say. Love to be raised in a household where love and affection are withheld until they can be divvied out in thimblefuls as paltry rewards or bribes! ★★☆☆
Company: Caroline, in case it wasn’t clear from her behavior at Shiv’s wedding, does not seem like a particularly caring mom or decent human being. No wonder she and Logan were once a match, and no wonder they later got divorced. ★★☆☆
Power plays and money moves: Mother and children bat around the offer of tens of millions of dollars so casually that their conversation could incite class warfare. Ultimately, Caroline comes out on top, offering to accept either Logan’s summer palace in the Hamptons (a place that she loathes, but that she knows Logan loves), or $20 million and the Roy children for Christmas. Not only is this a win-win for her, but she gets the added pleasure of callously treating her children like bargaining chips that they all know Logan will discard in favor of the Hamptons estate. “I think we have to hear which he’d prefer,” she says. “Let’s make him choose.” Holy shit, that is a barbed maneuver! ★★★☆
7. Cold butter, Season 1, Episode 4, “Sad Sack Wasp Trap”
The Roys’ annual charity gala is a black-tie affair attended by New York’s wealthiest. This year, it’s overseen by Connor (Alan Ruck), the eldest Roy child — and a half-brother to Kendall, Shiv, and Roman — who otherwise keeps himself busy with voluntary unemployment, weird politics, and a girlfriend who may be a sex worker he once hired. The event, a clashing of money, performative philanthropy, and misunderstandings, sets off a chain of events that shapes the rest of the season.
Food: Some of the food served includes lasagna, salad, and bread with butter too cold to spread. “The butter’s all fucked! You fuckwads, there’s dinner rolls out there ripping as we speak!” Connor screams at the kitchen staff before attempting to fire them all en masse, demonstrating that all it takes is a hint of supervisory power — and some pressure from dear dad — to turn someone into even more of an asshole. ★☆☆☆
Ambiance: Ostensibly classy. Dully fancy. You know. ★★☆☆
Company: Just a big roomful of rich people! Choose your players! ★★☆☆
Power plays and money moves: Due to a mix up with teleprompter and the underhanded tattletale instincts of snitch Connor, Logan takes this public event as an opportunity to fuck over his heir apparent Kendall. “I see you,” Logan hisses privately to his son after announcing in a speech that he would not be retiring. “I spied you fucking out, son, don’t ever do that to me again.” This particular battle may have been waged just in Logan’s head, but it kicks off a struggle between father and son that impacts the entire arc of Succession. ★★★★
6. Tom displays character growth, Season 2, Episode 10, “This Is Not for Tears”
Tom (Matthew Macfayden) — on the heels of a potentially marriage-ending talk on the beach with Shiv, prompted by her not defending him against a possible ouster — marches right up to Logan for what is quite possibly one of the most exciting minute-long encounters in television history.
Food: Chicken so good, Tom just had to steal a bite. ★★☆☆
Ambiance: On the one hand, they’re aboard a mega-yacht on the beautiful Mediterranean. On the other, the question of who will be deemed the “blood sacrifice” forced to take the fall for Waystar Royco’s crimes looms over them like a grim reaper. A mixed bag, one could say. ★★☆☆
Company: Tom and Logan, one of the least naturally occurring pairings in the series, have an established dynamic: Tom kowtows, Logan barely tolerates. While that would normally be a gut-roiling duo to be in the company of, the change in their dynamic in this scene kind of makes you want to stick around. ★★☆☆
Power plays and money moves: Everyone loves an underdog story, and in the world of Succession, Minnesota-raised Tom is one of the underdoggiest of them all. Fueled by a reckless surge of desperate rage, he confronts his CEO and father-in-law by grabbing a piece of chicken from Logan’s plate, taking a big bite, and throwing the breast back onto the plate. Tom’s muffled “Thank you for the chicken,” delivered through a mouthful of meat to a shocked Logan, is somehow the most dignified he has ever appeared. We also get what’s maybe the most Logan Roy line of all time, when he wonders aloud to Shiv what Tom has planned next, “Stick his cock into my potato salad?” ★★★★
5. Pizza in the Hamptons, Season 2, Episode 1, “The Summer Palace”
It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Roys have a mansion known as the “summer palace” in the Hamptons (which, in real life, was an estate built for Henry Ford’s grandson in the 1960s). Confronted with the threat of the “bear hug” hostile buyout that Kendall, Stewy, and Sandy initiated at the end of the first season, Logan decides to hold court at the summer palace in an attempt to seek clarity and a new successor.
Food: Enraged and disgusted by rotting, raccoon carcasses that have been stuck in the chimney long enough to invite maggots, Logan yells at his house staff to get rid of the lobster and shrimp they had prepared and to order pizza. What must be hundreds of dollars worth of seafood is unceremoniously dumped in the trash outside. (The pizza, to be fair, looks very appetizing.) ★★★★
Ambiance: Reminder that Logan and the staff have just unearthed rotting, maggot-infested raccoon carcasses in the chimney. It’s not a sexy environment. ★☆☆☆
Company: After a break, the gang is back together again! ★★☆☆
Power plays and money moves: To stick or sell: that is the question Logan is mulling over. Too bad no one dares speak their mind freely; Shiv even laughs at that invitation. A cowed, sycophantic court of an authoritarian’s own making — what a neat foreshadowing of dinner scenes to come! ★★★☆
4. How to eat like you have money, Season 1, Episode 6, “Which Side Are You On?”
By sheer, bumbling force of will and the power of his bloodline, newcomer Greg (Nicholas Braun) — the grandson of Logan’s brother — finds himself on the periphery of the Roys’ inner circle. Tom, recognizing another outsider (who is also the one family member he outranks and can therefore bully), quickly takes Cousin Greg under his wing and to a nice tasting-menu restaurant after they commit some casual white collar crimes. While the whole episode is nothing but a series of strategic dinners, this meal stands out, not least because it gives us the enduring image of these two idiots sitting in a trendy restaurant, heads shrouded in napkins.
Food: Monkfish and ortolan, a delicate songbird deep-fried and eaten whole with a napkin over one’s head because it’s so controversial — and, in some places, illegal — to eat. “That’s so good,” Tom sighs, while Greg, choking on the small bones and brain of the bird, comments: “It’s a rather … unique flavor.” Bet you anything he was thinking about how much he’d rather be eating California Pizza Kitchen’s Cajun chicken linguini. ★★☆☆
Ambiance: Chic surroundings befitting of one of the “most exclusive pop-ups of the city,” in Tom’s words. ★★★☆
Company: Of all the messed-up relationships on Succession, Greg and Tom’s remains one of the strangest — and yet, oddly, the most touching. “We have a bond,” Tom tells Greg during dinner (reminder: they just did crimes together!) “I was an outsider once … It was hard, and you create this kind of protective shell, but underneath we’re all just little nudie turtles.” Don’t you mean ... inside every Gregg is a vulnerable Tomlette waiting to be cracked free? ★★★☆
Power plays and money moves: What Tom wants to teach Greg (apart from how to do crimes), is how to live like a rich person, and this dinner is a foundational lesson. “Here’s the thing about being rich: it’s fucking great. It’s like being a superhero, only better. You get to do what you want, the authorities can’t really touch you, you get to wear a costume, but it’s designed by Armani, and it doesn’t make you look like a prick,” says the guy who comes off as a prick 97 percent of the time. ★★☆☆
3. Dinner with the Pierces, Season 2, Episode 5, “Tern Haven”
On a mission to woo the Pierces, the family that owns a rival media group known for its dedication to chasing the truth and winning Pulitzers (the Succession-verse Sulzbergers to the Roys’ Murdochs?), the Roy clan helicopter out to the Pierces’ WASP-y estate for a weekend of smarming and charming. Dinner, a feast made by a staff of at least three is served with a side of awkward small talk (Roman’s girlfriend Tabitha: “We’re not planning to have a baby because that would require us having sex.”) and the implicit sense of purpose driving the entire visit. The Roys want to acquire the Pierces’ PGM, and the Pierces want the billions that the Roys are offering, but neither side wants to come off as too desperate.
Food: Roast beef, soup, rolls, salad, potatoes, haricots verts, spinach (or, as Tom likes to call it, “king of edible leaves, His Majesty the spinach”). Nothing too thrilling, but solid and traditional, just like the Pierces. ★★★☆
Ambiance: Take the strained civility of a Thanksgiving dinner and gradually turn the dial up until you hit the exact moment that Shiv destroys any remaining chance that she will be named Logan’s successor. “Oh for fucks sake, Dad, just tell them it’s going to be me,” she says in response to Nan’s inquiry and Logan’s hedging. Silence, almost echoing in the cavernous dining room. Stricken faces around the table. Logan, jaw clenched, barely concealing his fury. Try enjoying your roast in that icy tension. ★☆☆☆
Company: It’s hard to imagine a family more insufferable than the Roys, and yet the Pierces, with their smug sense of propriety and ritual of reciting Shakespeare instead of saying grace, are worthy rivals, indeed. ★★☆☆
Power plays and money moves: Well, it’s official: Shiv “fucked it,” as the youngest Roy tells Tom after the nightmare meal. ★★★★
2. Boar on the floor, Season 2, Episode 3, “Hunting”
It’s difficult to describe the disturbing, magnetic, can’t-look-away trainwreck of a masterpiece that is “boar on the floor.” You see, Waystar Royco executives fly to a Hungary hunting lodge for a corporate retreat. After a vigorous day of killing stuff, they retire for dinner, only to find themselves trapped in an ominous-looking banquet hall with Logan Roy, who is out for blood. You know what, just watch it:
Food: Sausage presumably made from the very boars these white-collar office ninnies slew during their literal hunt. Level of deliciousness unknown; the victims of the figurative hunt are too busy debasing themselves to comment, “Yummy!” ★★★☆
Ambiance: BOAR ON THE FLOOR! BOAR ON THE FLOOR! BOAR ON THE FLOOR! ★☆☆☆
Company: If the thought of being stuck on an overnight, overseas retreat with your coworkers sounds hellish, just imagine a paranoid and furious Logan Roy being one of those colleagues. ★☆☆☆
Power plays and money moves: There is no bigger display of dick-swinging power. ★★★★★★★★★★
1. Breakfast with a death sentence, Season 2, Episode 10, “This Is Not for Tears”
After years of covering up heinous acts like sexual harassment and coercion, Waystar Royco must finally pay for (some of) its crimes by sacrificing a “skull,” a.k.a. a member of senior management whose scapegoating will be enough to satisfy the shareholders and the American public. To decide who that skull will be, Logan gathers his loyal servants aboard an obscenely decked-out yacht for a breakfast discussion of which person should be hypothetically thrown off the ship to stop it from sinking. Logan, who knows that the shareholders think he should step down, opens the discussion with the martyrizing statement, “I think the obvious choice is me.” As undoubtedly planned by Logan, the group immediately begins protesting — and the circle jerk of betrayal begins.
Food: A decent-enough-looking array of breakfast foods like croissants and smoothies, but who can muster up an appetite when there are colleagues to throw under the bus? ★★☆☆
Ambiance: A gorgeous backdrop of sunshine, azure waters, and warm sunshine, but who can fully decompress when there are colleagues to throw under the bus? ★★☆☆
Company: Members of the work family and the actual family, such as Gerri (“daughters first class on the company coin”), Karl (“I just went for the sports massage, I had no idea it was that kind of establishment”; also, “sausage thief”), Roman (“widely known as a horrible person”), Greg (“Greg sprinkles are a fantastic garnish to anyone seated at this table”), and Shiv and Tom (“beauty and the beast”), but who can enjoy their kinship when there are colleagues to throw under the bus? ★☆☆☆
Power plays and money moves: In case it wasn’t obvious, this meal is all about throwing colleagues under the bus.
But in direct contrast with the dark-lit, primeval chaos of “boar on the floor,” this power breakfast, eaten in broad daylight on a fancy boat, is strategically, agonizingly restrained. Siblings and coworkers artfully deflect blame and offer each other up for slaughter under the cover of this all being a hypothetical thought experiment, stripped of emotions. In Kendall’s words: “I’m saying this but I don’t believe it, I’m just saying it because this is the time we’re all saying things.” The bullshitting is truly masterful, and, trapped by the inflated score I gave “boar on the floor,” I must hereby assign the same star rating here: ★★★★★★★★★★

New Columbine Interview; Evan Long, "The Columbine Cause"« on: October 31, 2010, 09:27:31 AM »http://s1.zetaboards.com/LooseChangeForums/topic/709947/1/ http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4441508264277337675 Evan Long on the "Zero Hour Power" television program hosted by David Eaton. The interview concerns Evan's video, "The Columbine Cause". http://www.xmail.net/evanlong/tcc/ Some of that work and an interview are presented at the link below. http://www.breakfornews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1993 Also I have been told that the entire Columbine area is what is called; "A Safe Commnity" by the U.S. Military and the CIA, NSA, DIA, etc. This kind of community is created specifically for former and reitred members of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Now not all people living there are ex-intel, but most are and every other family I talked to admits that the father or mother and in some cases both were ONI, G2, OSI, etc. There are also people in the community that were involved in the Denver International Airport land deals, total corruption there. http://truthwinds.com/siterun_data/health/crime_hate_crimes/news.php?q=1247331404 The evidence of multiple shooters is so strong that I can't see how anyone can dismiss it. Hundreds of eyewitness accounts! Those who want to know what really went down in Columbine.. These are your must-reads: CRTF's Report on Columbine: http://www.apfn.org/apfn/Columbine2.htm John Quinn's articles on Columbine: http://www.konformist.com/1999/colorado.htm Eric Hufschmid's interview with Donna Taylor: http://www.erichufschmid.net/Columbine-DonnaTaylor.html Hufschmid is a fake for sure, as he is the nephew of the Vatican's media mogul, Rupert Murdoch (Member of the Order of St. Gregory the Great) and covers for the Vatican. Donna Taylor, however, seems genuine and has a documented background as the mother of a student at Columbine who was wounded seven times. Also check out the work by 'starviego'/'starvosan'. He's gone all over the internet exposing Columbine as an op. The truth is.. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were products of MKULTRA. They were the patsies for an elite squad of at least six and likely well over that. Columbine was a covert operation carried out by the US military and the CIA/FBI/NSA/MI6, all of those agencies were at Columbine, according to researcher John Quinn. What is well-confirmed through eyewitnesses is the presence of NATO at Columbine. Why the hell were they there?! Well, get this: A colonel and a two-star general were also present. The Denver/Golden/Littleton area is a hub for covert government projects. Here are some facts about Columbine from researcher Starviego/Starvosan: Quote: --Why did numerous ear-witnesses say at least one attacker was firing a fully-automatic weapon? --Why did police concentrate on setting up a perimeter at the same time dispatch(via phone) is hearing the sound of gunshots within the school? --Why did it take police so long to enter the school, and why did it take almost three hours for them to reach the library, the area where the shooters were last seen? Who gave the orders not to go in? --Why did over 100 eye- and ear- witnesses dispute the official theory of only two shooters? Why did over 40 of those witnesses identify other participants BY NAME? --If the two shooters committed suicide shortly after noon, as police claim, how come at least 35 witnesses saw or heard suspects/gunshots/explosions after that time? --Why are there conflicting eyewitness accounts on the place and manner in which at least four of the dead victims were killed? Were victims being moved around? Was the crime scene being rearranged? --If left-handed Klebold shot himself in the left temple, why was his suicide weapon found clutched in his right hand? --How did students manage to keep seriously wounded teacher Dave Sanders alive for more than three hours while awaiting rescue, yet he was dead within 20 minutes of the police taking control of him? His corpse was later found with his shirt off. Is that first-aid? Or a sure-fire way of sending someone into shock? --What was the motive? Why would two teens who were not bullied, did not hate everyone, and were not psychopathic suddenly decide to destroy the lives of a dozen fellow students and themselves just six weeks before graduation? --Why would Harris and Klebold plan for a suicide mission and at the same time make normal plans for a post 4-20 future? Like seeking help on an English class essay from a teacher a few days before the attack, like making a date to see a movie the day after, like putting in a work schedule for the next week, like going to an out-of-town college with your dad to pick out a dorm room, like making plans to visit your old friends in New York. --Where is the gun shot residue(GSR) test evidence for Harris and Klebold and the other suspects? --Why was fingerprint evidence for Harris and Klebold not found on all but two of the hundreds of obects gathered at the scene? Whose fingerprints, if any, were found on the weapons seized? --Why does the official story claim, without a shred of evidence, that it was Harris and Klebold that set the South Wadsworth diversionary bomb (an incendiary device that exploded a couple of miles away from the school at the same time the shooting started)? --Why did authorities claim the two shotguns seized had no serial numbers when later documents clearly show they did have serial numbers? Why did they not try to find out who sold Harris and Klebold the Hi-Point 9mm rifle and the pump-action shotgun that were used in the shooting? --Were the school administrators warned, as rumored? Who was Principle Frank DeAngelis looking for, as reported by one student who saw him running up and down the interior cafeteria stairs right before the shooting broke out? --Why did a science teacher tell his students that they had been expecting a fire drill? Was a bomb found in a trash can on 4-19, as one source indicated? Were bomb threats phoned into the school on the morning of 4-20, as two others claimed? --Why didn't the Final Report conclude that shooters entered Science rooms 1 and 8, when numerous shell casings were taken from these areas? --Why didn't the Final Report mention the brief exit of a shooter on the east side, according to many eyewitnesses? --If the person seen on the roof of the school was a repairman, as police claim, why do witnesses say he was holding a weapon? Were shell casings found there, as some said? --Who scheduled 'crisis training' drills at Columbine High Schol(CHS) in the weeks before and what was the exact nature of this training? --What was a Denver police officer and a JeffCo sheriff doing at CHS that morning before the shooting started? --What does reputed video evidence from the library and admin office areas show? Why does local media refuse to release on-scene video footage from the first half-hour of the incident? --What happened to all the evidence taken from the computers of the trenchcoat mafia gang? --Where are dozens of missing interviews of students, especially those in the science hall? Why are there still thousands of pages of investgatory materials that have never been made public, including hundreds of reports of non-Columbine witnesses and tipsters? --Why has the school district's own report on the shooting, which included the extensive disciplinary records of the trenchcoat mafia associates, not been made public? --Did investigators even try to interview Harris' psychologist, the man perhaps best positioned to know his mental state at the time? --Why did investigators show a remarkable lack of curiousity about connections with numerous similar school violence-related incidents occuring around the same time in the metro-Denver area and around the country? --Why did LAPD and Los Angeles Sheriff's Office personnel travel to the scene afterwards? What was the subject of a 10-minute phone call made by the NYPD to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office on 4-20? --Who invited the FBI and the ATF to the scene? --Why was the US Attorney's Office (federal) consulted on 'prosecutive decisions' for this local crime? --Why was all but one of the seven 'investigatory' teams headed or co-headed by an FBI man? (the one exception was a team headed by a CBI(Colorado Bureau of Investigation) man, who was himself 'ex'-FBI) Was the entire crime scene 'federalized' soon after the shooting started, under powers granted by the 'Anti-terrorism Act' ("for the protection of the people and the state") signed by President Clinton exactly three years before- on April 20, 1996? --Why did FBI special agent Dwayne Fusilier not recuse himself from the investigation, as his son helped make a Columbine school video two years before that eerily mimicked the shooting? --What were two high-ranking military figures (a colonel and a general) in cami uniforms doing at the scene? Why was a memorial service at a public park afterwards ringed by military trucks? Who authorized a flyover by military jets and why? --Why did the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) hold a four-day disaster training course 18 months before, "designed specially to adress the needs of Jefferson County," for future Sheriff John Stone and other county representatives? --Is it just coincidence that the episode of CBS' television show "The Promised Land" that was scheduled to air that week featured a kid firing a gun in front of a Denver high school? Or that the plot of the WB's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" for that week was a student gunman and a plot to kill every one at school? Or that MTV aired a Justice Department-produced program called "Warning Signs" about violence and its effect on young people on 4-22-99 (date was scheduled before Columbine)? --When ABC's "20/20" news program decided to do a show about a disturbing new educational phenomenom called 'Death Education,' back in the early '90s, why did they choose Columbine High as the featured school? And of course, at the time of the massacre, the CIA director (George Tenet) was a Jesuit-trained Knight of Malta and the FBI director was Louis Freeh, a devout Roman Catholic, an alleged member of Opus Dei who sent his son to an Opus Dei school. The President at the time, Bill Clinton, was Jesuit-trained at Georgetown University. Clinton, his wife, and his Vice President Al Gore all had Chiefs of Staff. All of those Chiefs of Staff were Jesuit-trained at Georgetown University. So, Columbine happened under a Jesuit-controlled regime, and the key agencies involved (CIA & FBI) were directed by Vatican-connected individuals when the attack took place. In addition, we cannot deny that the military would be involved in such an operation. Zabel discusses the "strangeness" surrounding Columbine High itself, a school which was built on a sacrificial ground. He describes a very present occult "side" to the town and school. Many Wiccans/Satanists were in the community, and the priests were also interested in satanism. After Columbine, a Wiccan symbol was placed on the ceiling of the new library -- a grove of trees. The special-ed teacher (Judy Greco), according to Zabel, is an admitted Wiccan who stated that she used a military-grade device to put her class under a "trance". http://www.binnallofamerica.com/boaa4.20.9.html And here's Michael Moore discussing the strong connection between the town and the Military-Industrial Complex: Quote: I think this could have happened anywhere and that's the scary thing. But I wanted to put it into some sort of context. And, and the nut of that context came when I just happened to ask somebody in Littleton, so who's the largest employee here and she said Lockheed Martin. I said, you've got to be kidding me, Lockheed Martin? It's the world's number one defense contractor. The biggest weapons maker in the world. And I thought, gee I wonder why nobody ever mentioned that. I mean there isn't, you know, A to B correlation here. It's, you know, otherwise they'd be a shooting at Columbine everyday. I mean, that's not the reason Columbine happened. But I began thinking about the larger context of this, this fabric of our society. And all the threads that weave into the fabric of what a violent, violent nation we are. Toward each other and toward the rest of the world. And just driving around Denver, seeing those pods that are out there on the other side of town communicating with the Pentagon satellites. Going to the Lockheed factory where they built the rockets. Uh, Mike those are rockets for Direct TV And what else? Um, weather satellites. And what else? Um, private Pentagon payloads we're not allowed to discuss The parents in Littleton go to work to build rockets that send up into space satellites and telecommunication devices that will allow us to watch the missiles anywhere in the world on Armageddon day. But just like those of us who come from Flint, Michigan, who build the one thing that will be responsible for melting the polar ice caps and never questioning what that is we're building as we go to work each day. No one ever questions anything. Nobody ever asks about what the larger consequences of all this is. And just driving around this area and seeing the dependency on weapons in the Denver area from the Air Force base that this stuff is shipped from to the Air Force Academy where that B52 bomber, that bomber that participated in one of the largest bombing campaigns ever, the Christmas bombing of Vietnam in 1972. And they've got a plaque on there proudly proclaiming that this bomber, this B52 killed thousands upon thousands of Vietnamese, innocent civilians. That's the Denver that we don't discuss. Rocky Flats, Norad, the missile silos all around the state. That's what we don't want to discuss. What's that got to do with this. It's all part of the same American mentality that says that it's okay to use violence as a means to an end. Whether it's in the home or whether it's in Iraq. That has got to stop. That has to to stop folks. I watched the footage of that day, April 20th, 1999. And I noticed that the police weren't go into the school. And I'm watching tape after tape after tape. http://crtf.yuku.com/topic/860/t/Devon-Adams.html The mother of Mark Taylor (Columbine survivor) said that her son told her (before the massacre) that the school was strange. All they did was watch television in the classrooms, he said, and drugs were everywhere. The Taylors moved into the area and Mark began attending the school only three weeks before the shooting. http://www.erichufschmid.net/SonSensedSchoolWasWeird.mp3 The principal went to school with Bill Clinton. http://www.erichufschmid.net/ClintonAndPrincipal.mp3 On the day of the massacre, a vast amount of students were absent. http://www.erichufschmid.net/HalfOfStudentsDidntShowUp.mp3

The 100 S4 Finale Recap & Review 413 "Praimfaya" #The100
Episode Grade: 10
One clan shares the bunker as Praimfaya approaches. They are probably trying to think about anything in the world besides the hundreds of people locked outside. They are probably equally grateful for the bunker's soundproofing as its security, in these final hours while their own exiles may be screaming and pleading for help, for readmittance to the promised land, such as it is.
Octavia is on the radio, saying goodbye to her brother, trying to believe it's not the last time they'll ever speak. She confides in him that she's afraid of so much right now, including the role she's taken on as leader of all these people. He lifts her up with his love and devotion, as ever, but the signal is lost and the moment cut short.
Indra comes to her with a gift: the Commander's symbol, as worn by Lexa. Indra will be the family and the mentor Octavia needs to pull this off (no doubt assisted by Kane, who's earned his place at Indra's side in the leadership council). Octavia steps into the atrium to address her people. We will rise, she tells them.
It's a quiet, beautiful opening to the season finale, giving us a last look into the new ark after we invested so much in building it. But that story is going to carry on without us for now; some of our heroes are still fighting for their lives on Becca's island.
Raven breaks down the 90-minute mission impossible scenario, then assigns tasks to everyone. Monty and Murphy are dispatched to scavenge the CO2 scrubber from the old bunker--Monty because he has the skills to extract the tech safely, Murphy because he used to live in that bunker. They make an awkward team-up at first, and Murphy's blithe attempt at joking about it doesn't help. Things go from bad to worse when Murphy falls back on sarcastic defensiveness, insulting Jasper's memory.
It's clear that Murphy's not trying to be a dick, he just doesn't know how else to be with the old crew. He instantly recognizes his error and wants to bring the mission back on track. They reach the bunker and start working.
Monty determines that the fine motor skills required of him are impossible while he's wearing his radiation suit. No doubt is earning Murphy's respect for all time, Monty takes his gloves off and works through the blinding pain, aware that he's exposing his hands to a potentially lethal amount of radiation.
They get the tech separated from the building and start heading back. Murphy, in both an attempt to keep Monty's mind off the pain and a genuine outreach, starts asking about Harper. He's clearly trying to convey to Monty that he's not the villain Monty remembers, and it's all because he's found, love. Guys, this is the scene when I fell in love with John Murphy once and for all. I've been leaning in that general direction for a while, but now, I'm in.
Monty collapses from the pain, and Murphy struggles with the choice of what to do next. He can try to carry Monty or the CO2 scrubber, but he can't get both. He takes the scrubber.
Meanwhile, Raven's mission impossible is going off the rails as she discovers that two of the space shuttle's critical systems are inoperable. Life support isn't mission-critical for them, technically, because their suits will provide just enough oxygen to get them to the ring (if all goes well), but the communications are down, and there's no way to open the docking bay without comms.
Raven is spiraling, admitting that she doesn't believe in herself anymore. After having the ALIE boost to her brain, she feels inferior, like she's just not smart enough without that enhancement. Bellamy gently reminds her that she saved all their lives a dozen times over, long before anyone ever heard of ALIE.
Bellamy's support and belief in others make all the difference, yet again. He gives Raven the strength to focus and come up with a workaround. They need to reach the satellite tower and use it to signal the ring. Time is running short, though.
On the way to the satellite, they find Murphy, struggling to carry the device back alone. He breathlessly explains that Monty collapsed, and Bellamy joins him for the rescue mission. This leaves Clarke all alone on her satellite operation. They barely get a goodbye...but then, it was never supposed to be goodbye.
Monty regains consciousness and realizes what happened. He lets Murphy know that choosing the tech over him was the right call, and it's a beautiful moment. These two are going to be friends, and no two people need that more.
Clarke reaches the satellite with a heartsick glance at the clock; she needs this task to be easy and to work on the first try, or she won't have a chance at making it back before launch.
Of course, the satellite isn't cooperative in the slightest. She realizes she's going to have to climb the damn thing and make her adjustments up at the top level. With a heartbroken look back in the direction of the lab where her friends are going to launch without her, she says in Trigedasleng, "My fight is over." She begins to climb the tower.
In the lab, they're down to the final launch prep, and Echo is nowhere to be found. Bellamy finds her in the upstairs office, preparing to commit suicide. He very reasonably asks what the hell, considering all she's done to get this shot at surviving, and how close they are to getting out.
She doesn't feel she deserves to survive, though. All she's done to get this shot...that's the problem. She's done terrible things, and he knows it more than anyone. But that's why he's the only person who could talk her down right now. He really does know her darkest truths, and he has plenty of reason to want her dead. But the story of The 100 has always been survival, and Bellamy tells her that now. "You're strong. Our chances are better with you." It really is that simple, in the world of this show. Will you help us survive or hurt our chances?
They get moving again. The launch is imminent. Bellamy starts to realize that Clarke isn't going to make it back. Raven reminds him that Clarke would tell him to get in the damn ship and go without her. He knows that, and he does it, though it kills him.
Emori realizes what's happening and says, "Can't we give her another minute?" And the truth is, no, they can't. The death wave is almost upon them, and once it hits, their remaining systems will be fried. This is the only shot. They launch.
Clarke is still climbing the tower as she watches her friends take off. She knows they're on a short and deadly trip if she can't get this job done. She stands atop the tower and pulls the satellite into a variety of configurations until finally, the signal connects. The console goes dead, but she's done all she can; she hurries back down and runs for the lab. By the time she reaches it, just barely evading the blast of Praimfaya, she's covered in sores. Abby's vision has come to pass after all, but like most stories with a mysterious psychic element, it didn't mean what she thought.
Up in space, Raven is getting her spacewalk, waiting for Clarke's signal to activate the ring so she can access the docking bay controls. It's tight, but she gets it done, and the crew gets inside. Their oxygen is critically low, but there's nothing to breathe on the station yet; they need to hook up the device they brought along. Again, it's a tense scene, but they get it done. Time to settle in for five years in space.
A chyron appears on the screen to let us know that six years and seven days have passed....
Clarke is alive and well, looking like she's ready to ride the Fury Road. She's I-am-Legend it up, talking over a radio every day as if she's talking to Bellamy, though no one ever answers. She tells him that the bunker is still lost, buried in rubble, though there's no reason to doubt its inhabitants are still alive.
Suddenly, a ship breaks through the atmosphere, and she leaps up in anticipation. She goes to awaken her companion, a young Nightblood she met sometime since they became the only people left on Earth. The girl, Madi, points out that the approaching ship is larger than Clarke had described.
Madi's right. This is not the shuttle that left Becca's island 2199 days ago. It's a much more forbidding vessel, marked "Eligius Corporation," "Prison transport." These are the people we heard about once before, presumably...it was said that Nightblood was created to keep prison laborers alive in space as they were shipped off in cryosleep to do hard labor offworld. So we might not even be talking about the descendants of the prisoners, these are very likely the original prisoners, returning to a devastated planet with the intention of ruling it.
Of course, we'll have to wait until 2018 to see what happens next, but man oh man, I am so glad we will definitely see what happens next! Thanks for another amazing season of The 100!
(I hope people don't lose their minds too hard next year when we almost certainly see Bellamy and Echo have been a couple for a long time. Those shipper fans are intense!)

VLD S2 theories and drabbles: On Keith, Antok, and the  Mystery Galra Soldier from S2E09
Antok….There’s something special about him. The weird stares he shares with Keith, his lurking presence in many scenes and unexplained significance as Kolivan’s number two? Why was he so important to the Blade of Marmora to the point where he accompanied Kolivan on his mission to the castle, but his identity is completely shrouded in mystery? S2 Spoilers and SUPER long post under the cut.
Is he really some red shirt that was designed solely to die? If so, why not use one of the nondescript Galra soldiers standing by Kolivan’s side when he’s first shown instead of spending time giving Antok a specific look and feel very distinct character design.
Antok is one of the first members of the Blade of Marmora that we see (other than Ulaz and the nondescript solider shown here on the left).
Tumblr media
Already it’s clear that he is not your typical soldier. He is larger in size and bulkier, he has a distinct large middle eye on his mask, pouches on his hip and calf, and what stuck out the most to me the second time watching this was what appears to be a tail (though it could be something else, like Kolivan’s necklace-looking garment that turned out to be a braid that he draped around his neck when wearing his mask.)
Although he is merely identified as “Guard” by the subtitles at this point, when it is discovered that Keith has brought a Marmoran blade with him, it is Antok that tackles him, takes his knife, accuses Keith of stealing it.   He also calls him a liar when he claims that he’s had it all his life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Antok is at last addressed by name, it is in the form of instructions by Kolivan to return the blade to Keith so that he may attempt the trials.  He holds the knife a bit longer as Keith is taking it from him, and the two exchange a lingering glare….

Then these foreshadowing words:

Later on when Keith is undergoing the trials of Marmora, a point is made to show Antok beside Kolivan and Shiro:

However, it is unclear whether he is in the room for the next trial, where Keith sees “Shiro.” Kolivan says this about the suit being worn, but does not specify who is in the suit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A point is not made, as it is in other scenes, to make Antok’s presence known here. So it is possible that he is wearing the suit that causes Keith to see “Shiro.” It is possible that he is the one to antagonize him once again, to introduce doubt and conflict. It is possible that this is what he meant when he told Keith that they would meet again in that menacing tone.
Once “Shiro” disappears, and Keith begins to hallucinate that he is in his desert shack with his father, it is shown that Keith is alone, and Antok is once again shown to be in the room with Shiro and Kolivan, as shown when the Red Lion begins attacking their base:
Tumblr media
A quick tangent here to talk about that hallucination that Keith experiences. The hallucination in general is a clear message that he has to sacrifice self-fulfillment to complete the mission for which he is needed.
Tumblr media
It is also a reminder of what Kolivan said before: “Sometimes the greatest challenge is knowing when to stop.”
But think about this: Keith doesn’t give up the blade in the face of personal pain, personal struggle.  He perseveres, until it is shown that others will suffer from this choice.  He is shown that his desire to learn about his past will lead to their demise.  Keith knows when to persevere, knows how to find creative solutions to his personal struggles, but he also knows when to stop.  And that is more than likely the challenge that was set before him. The same theme is mirrored in the final showdown, when (guess who!) Antok becomes the aggressor, the catalyst if you will, once again:
As their base is besieged, he demands that Keith surrender his blade, draws his weapon, and charges them.
Tumblr media
Shiro defends him. It is literally a showdown between the person who has been worrying over him this whole time, the person Keith “desperately wants to see,” and this masked galra who has primarily been the aggressor towards Keith.  Also, a symbolic clash between his past and his future.
Tumblr media
Keith interrupts them immediately, surrendering the knife when someone else is put in danger for his sake.  He will endure anything, but he will not allow his desires to cause harm to Shiro, or to anyone else for that matter.  Keith no longer questions his past. He says, “I know who I am.  We all need to work together to defeat Zarkon. If that means I give up this knife, fine. Take it.”  He is sacrificing his own self-discovery in order to pursue universal salvation, and that is “knowing when to stop.” That is why the blade awakens for him.  It is because Antok pushed him to the point where he could no longer ignore the impact of his personal decisions on other people.
Tumblr media
Antok may have been instrumental in Keith awakening his galra blade.  More on Antok later….
For now, what about the foreboding message his “father” said?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At first I thought maybe his mother might have been Haggar, because it was odd that she interrogated Thace, claiming that she would know if he lied.  Either she overestimated her abilities, felt that he was lying but needed more evidence to back up her theory, or she was also an accomplice in the resistance against Zarkon.  If she was part of the resistance it is possible that she left the blade to Keith.  However, it is later revealed that she is Altean, not Galran. She also disarms Antok in the season finale, allowing him to be dispatched by another follower of Zarkon.   So I do not believe it to be her to whom Keith’s ‘father’ is referring.
This show doesn’t do things on accident.  Everything is shown to have meaning and they don’t foreshadow lightly.  Things we may overlook now might be pertinent later.  Take for example, the Mystery Galran Soldier that Keith rescues in S2E09 “The Belly of the Weblum.”
Although he is wary of this soldier and disarms them immediately, he does not take action to harm them.  Later, when the soldier reclaims their weapon, they also do not act to harm Keith. They actually protect him:

They even work together to defend each other:

His explanation to Hunk?
Tumblr media
It would be a huge coincidence but what if this individual was his mother? She could be working with the Blade of Marmora as an undercover soldier, and may have been trapped in the Weblum while attempting to collect scaultrite to create or repair her own teludav.  That would explain her motives for being there in the first place and why she skedaddles once she gets what she came for.  She also is not likely to have been able to travel far with just her jetpack, so it’s likely that another party is waiting for her or a larger ship (like the castle) is hiding or cloaked nearby awaiting her return.
It’s possible that this Galran soldier was a one-episode character designed to make limited if no appearances later on, and that their purpose was simply to introduce more drama into the episode and to give Keith more interactions with the Galra.  But we know that more detail is typically given to the characterization and the design of these one-episode filler characters as seen in previous episodes (the rescued prisoners, the Balmerans, Rolo and Nyma, the underwater mermaid creatures from S2E02, etc.) because they need to make a greater impact in a shorter time. (This was also why I felt we’d have more explanation on the character of Antok, so for him to die while his identity remains unexplained is peculiar.)
Alternatively, this could be a different important character, such as Lotor, who is mentioned in the series finale by Haggar (the ramifications of which would also be fun to explore!).  Either way, It is likely that we will see this character reappear in S3 in a significant role.
Returning now to Antok, I wasn’t sure why his death took me by such surprise, and kind of made me really sad.  He was a character of few words, but of great impact, I believe.  At first, I thought it possible that he was Keith’s father.  The pouches that he wears do resemble those that Keith wears, but then Kolivan has those as well, so it could just be a coincidence, or maybe Galran gear that Keith inherited. The fact that he plays such a foreboding role in the Blade of Marmora episode, the strange, challenging vibe he has towards Keith and Shiro.  But now I don’t really believe that anymore - I’m not sure what to think!
His presence definitely means something.  It’s no accident that he’s constantly seen at the side of Kolivan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course he is near Kolivan because he is his soldier, and it is clear that he his right-hand man.  But his death was given too much screentime, seemed to be too much of consequence, for a character whose sole purpose was to die unimportantly.  But even if he was just designed to die for the symbolic meaning - maybe he was a previous Paladin of Voltron? Maybe he was the RED paladin.  That would explain his aggression towards Keith, and the jolting significance of his death, and the deeper meaning of his pervasive yet quiet presence in the planning and execution of their huge battle.
Also, it’s possible due to his size and the fact that he has a tail (??? Maybe?) that he is not Galra at all. Maybe he was Altean in disguise? Or some other species that we’ve yet to see.
Anyway, his death means something important. I just don’t know what.  And I’m sure we’ll see more of that Galran Soldier from S2E09.
I’d love to hear other peoples’ theories and thoughts on all of this.  What do you guys think?
