random thought but I find it curious how many people consider he/him to be the only correct pronouns to use for togata. is he canonically trans? yes! do i refer to him with he/him and consider that to be correct? yes! does he canonically want to be referred to as male? not really…

you can definitely make the point that togata’s aversion to being referred to as male comes from not believing that anyone could truly see him as male and that under different circumstances he WOULD want to be referred to with he/him (and this is an analysis I think is true) but I think that to erase togata’s view of his own presentation and declare that he canonically uses he/him is to do a disservice to his character

this is his mom shes super sweet and nice. shes loud and esily excitable, and also non magical. she knows JACK SHIT about guild stuff, but supports her husband and son anyways. shes also like. a REALLY GOOD COOK. LIKE AN EXCELLENT COOK. she grabs peoples cheeks and squeezes them like an old grandma. definitely gets teary eyed and hugs the living shit out of lance’s spouse when she meets them.

heres both his mom and his dad. itnore how horribly i drew lances dad IGNORE IT its the wrost doodle on the list, but it shows him colored so wtv. hes like closed off, but super respectful. definitely rants about galdoran politics. okay, sure, he has a reputation of being cold hearted in the guild, but he too cried when he saw lances spouse. debating on whether or not he has magic. if he does, then its a low amount and practically useless. hes an adventurer for castle village, and he didnt really get to see his son a lot. its okay tho because they still occasionally talk. this guy sucks at chess. dunno why yall need to know that, but its true. hes basically the exact opposite of his wife. these two are so LOVEY DOVEY though, like an EMBARRASSING AMOUNT. they embarrass lance when they all go out together, actually.

(all but the building of the nursery was decided two months before the actual baby arrived.)

I think vaughn was a really special villain for izombie. He was just so..... unsettling in how he was as a person, but he was funy and to a certain extent chsrming and he had a plan and his own hubris is what brought him down. AND GOOD FOR RITA FOR DOING IT TOO his death was just so good with major "closing the hatch" on him. He also wasnt overdone and his action led to fillmore graves one of my favorite arcs so! Hes just cool in my book. /hateful

Idk I don't like Vaughn. I think characters have to be entertaining to watch or else why am I watching this (and that includes serious characters I'm not saying everyone has to be silly, they just have to be enjoyable), and I just don't think Vaughn qualifies. He works as a villain in theory cus he's evil, but if you compare him to say Blaine: you look forward to Blaine being on screen, he's murdering kids and being an absolute shit (arguably more evil than Vaughn even) but he's fun to watch so yippee Blaine's here! Meanwhile, every time I've watched izombie with various different people, the reaction is always "this fucking guy-" which is like. 🤷. Yaknow? I've said before the worst crime a fictional character can commit is annoy the audience. He was well written and did what he was meant to, but in terms of a villain you can like and enjoy: he simply ain't it.

Conclusion TLDR being: the polls for villain you like and he's just not likeable

Best Pokémon gen and why?

Aw man, for the joy for playing the game, the modern gen hands down. Even with the bugs and issues, the 3d world has been so fucking fun, I feel like a kid again.

I screamed when I found a tiny shroodle in the wild. My Alpha Snorlax is my best bud. Seeing pokemon move and dance and interact in the world has brought me joy and has endeared a bunch of new pokemon to me.

But gen 3 for story, Gen 8 is when they hit a good stride for pokemon designs

AN ASK YES okay so you see. I have a headcanon that Sliver of Straw enjoys singing and dancing, and she often sings love songs to Moon. Pebbles heard Moon talking about that at some point and is like "oh yeah I should do that to Suns that'd be romantic!". seeing a lot of talk of the season 5 finale, which is fun, i get that it was controversial (honestly the fact it was really risky is kind of one of the things i like about it lol) and wanting to add my two cents but can't think of much i haven't already said before

but something i do want to emphasize is that season 5 ending on Marinette telling the biggest, boldest faced lie she's ever told (that goes far beyond "protecting her identity") to kick off the Lila arc is by far the coolest thing they could've done imo, because I was not at all excited for the Lila arc before but now I'm totally invested. Now Lila isn't the Evil Liar to be taken down by Good Marinette. Marinette is the liar to be taken down by the very liar that she took down. It's not a story of "defeat that freakishly evil girl" anymore, but instead a story of "Marinette's own actions and decisions coming back to bite her". And the lie itself (WHICH LILA KNOWS IS A LIE!!) only exists because, and is most impactful towards, her relationship with Adrien, which is the core of the series!! I CARE about their relationship, and that's the stakes!!!

I just cannot get over how cool that is, and how much I didn't expect it. I know we all were expecting a big fight with Ladybug and Chat Noir just defeating Gabriel and then watching Chat Noir cry or whatever in the few remaining minutes of screen-time and then it's all over and done with, but that's a series finale. This was a season finale. And they did something really unique and unexpected with it, while making sure it's a juicy season-finale conflict that leaves me actually excited about season 6

also, a side note— I think the framing of the finale made this confusing so I totally get why discussions about it are kind of all over the place, but... 90% of the post-wish stuff we saw had nothing to do with Gabriel at all. It was all Mayor Bustier, who was already running for mayor and wanted to enact green laws and projected to win (she was up against D'Argencourt, the character whose schtick is that nobody ever votes for him in elections). I don't think Gabriel's wish included "Please, Gimmi, I want my son's school teacher to win the mayoral election this year" lol. So a lot of talk of "why is Gabriel's World presented in such a positive light?" is kind of weird to me. That's not Gabriel's World. That's Caline Bustier's. All we know so far about Gabriel's World is that Nathalie is in it and he is not. And frankly, the fact everyone is so happy and cheerful and living it up after his death is more a roast than anything

( also, just a reminder that the presentation of Gabriel's statue— the only scene discussing Gabriel in a positive light by someone In The Know— was done by Tomoe Tsurugi, a series antagonist, vowing to continue his work, with a song in minor key playing in the background. i feel like the question of "was this meant to be unsettling or triumphant?" is pretty obvious. just wanted to remind everyone. also by definition characters cannot celebrate gabriel as a "hero" without in the same breath celebrating monarch's, aka gabriel's, death. yknow? )

Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.

Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.

But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.

And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "

He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors.
