Overwhelming Overtime (NSFW) FT: Sua
Tumblr media
She has no business being this needlessly hot
Your boss was both the best boss you ever had but also the worst. See when you started you had this quiet but strong boss named Kim Minji. Sure she was a bit spacey but when push came to shove she would shove back. She was a tough but extremely pleasant boss but he was promoted and in turn, chose Kim Bora (her right hand) as her successor.
You had met Kim Bora before in fact she was the one who hired you. She was a tiny little thing with a fire that drove her to win at all costs. When you interviewed her the thing that stood out most was the rapacious look she had. You thought it was because she hadn't eaten that day but as you got to know her and did a few projects with her you quickly learned that her intense appetite was all genuine. You were no slouch yourself you strived to lead the pack and often did with your out-of-the-box solutions and creative problem-solving skills. Kim Bora or Sua as she demanded to be called now was often reliant on you for not only your insights but also rigorous morale-boosting efforts. So much so she had you in her old position 4 months after you got hired, and a week before the first major audit of the quarter. The audit went well but it was after that when “Kim Bora” died and “Sua” took over completely.
The day after the Audit you got in early to work on a side project you had going on. You were off the clock obviously and needed a quiet space that wasn't your apartment you shared with several roommates. While you worked a co-worker and designated “office puppy” Yoohyeon walked in
“Well well well. Who do we have here? A hard-working Hound slaving away before his shift even starts?” Yoohyeon says to you. You look up from your project and smile admiring her short blue hair which she had dyed the previous week.
“I'm good Puppy and how about you?” you ask giving her your full attention.
“I'm tired. That audit took it out of me. It also didn't help that Gahyeon and Siyeon’s work all got corrupted at the last minute.” Yoohyeon laments. You console her reminding her it's over and that Bora and you finished it.
“Thanks, hound…hey where's Bora?” Yoohyeon asked as you and here usually come in around the same time.
“Oh, she’s at my place. We didn't finish work until 3:30 last night so she stayed the night since it was closer,” you explain. Yoohyeon smiled at you.
“I knew you were a hound but I'd never take you for a dog,” Yoohyeon says with a pleasant laugh
“What do you mean?”
Yooyheon gets shoulder to shoulder with you and nudges you“Taking her back to your place, after a stressful day of work. A little bit of Office romance in the air?” she questions. You shake your head and try to deny it but there's this pit inside you and in that pit, something has awoken as you think about your boss in some less-than-professional ways. Yoohyeon notices your laptop and asks what you are working on.
“Oh it's just a movie script,” you say which makes Yoohyeon’s eyes go wide
“Oh can I be in it?” she asks preciously. You say sure and she beams off happy. By the time you finish up the first draft of the last scene, your boss walks in. She walks over to the desk and leans in as normal.
“Hey, honey. How are you?” you hear Bora ask.
“I'm fine boss. Just wanted to get some quiet time in before work. Did you enjoy your breakfast?” Bora smiles tired and nods as she drags herself to her office. Her voice is Huskier than usual from fatigue and further awakens the pit inside of you that is currently imagining your cock stuffed down her…Wait did she just call you honey? you think to yourself. You're not allowed to think for too long as the work hustle and bustle starts. As you settle in you get a call from Bora.
“Dear, can you come into my office please?”
Instinctively you say sure thing baby without being able to stop yourself before it comes out.
“Thanks, honey,” Bora said before hanging up the phone. You try to push down the feelings arising from the pit inside of you as you walk to her office. The pit had other plans though as your brain conjured lurid visions of you and Bora around the office until you got to her door. You see her and you going at it on Siyeon’s desk Bora screaming your name. Doggy at Gahyeon’s cubicle. Bora venting about how much of a little brat she was. Bora deepthroating you in Dami’s chair talking about how deep you are in her throat. It's disorienting and distracting but before you enter Bora’s office you breathe and calm yourself. You open the door to see Bora leaning back on her desk It is almost enough to send your body feral as you see not only her cleavage but also the way her pantsuit curves around her fit body. Your visions continue of her smothering your cock with her tits. Had you had less self-control you would have gotten on your knees and eaten her out before pounding her into oblivion and both of you pass out.
But instead, the words out of your mouth were “Yeah boss what's up?”
“We have a new hire and she should be coming in soon. I would like you who welcome her with me since you're my left hand.” her innocent reference to a previous inside joke had made you laugh and calmed the raging beast inside. You both sit in her office waiting for the new hire. Sue walks over to you and leans on you for a bit. She groaned before she said.
“Geez how did you still wake up so early today?” Bora asked. You shrug and respond “Not sure.” Bora smiles at you with admiration. Before hugging you.
“See that's what I love about you, honey. your persistence is unrelenting and inspiring.” the pet name reawakens the beast inside and you struggle to regain your composure. Until the door opens. In walks in a pretty blonde with bright eyes. She smiles and sits to the right of you across from Bora’s desk.
“Good morning Mrs Han,” Bora says. You nod as well as Mrs. Han sits next to you.
“This is my left-hand man Percival but we all call him Hound,” Bora says. Mrs Shin looks over at you confused.
“Each of us was given animal-related nicknames I got Hound after a particularly brusque interaction with a potential business partner”
Bora laughed and exposed the following, “you nearly bit his throat out when he attempted to forcefully couple with our little Fox Gahyeon”
Han’s eyes went wide as she remembered the story from two months ago about an office employee who broke the arm and several other bones of a CEO who was currently under investigation for multiple accounts of Misconduct. Mrs. Han laughed and said, “I heard about that. The article I read said it took 5 guards to stop you from killing him.” Mrs. Han teased
“I wasn't going to kill him,” you say
“Hound I know you're trying to not scare off the newbie but remember we are a primarily women-led office so I wanted her to know we have a hell of a guard dog helping who takes care of us,” Kim Bora explains. You shrug which makes Bora laugh. After that, Siyeon walks in and takes Mrs Han away, before she can. Bora asks you,” Hey honey can you pick up the food for today’s luncheon? The order will be ready at about noon.” you nod and walk out. When you get back to your desk you find that moment later Siyeon approaches
“What's going on between Sua and you?” she asks flatly.
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
Siyeon pointed to Sua’s office and said “Sua called you a bunch of pet names like babe and honey.”
“Oh good you heard it too, so I am not hallucinating that,” you say relieved you say half half-joking.
“Yeah, Handong asked me if you two were dating?” Siyeon asked confused. You shrug equally confused. Siyeon smiles at you and asks how you are handling it and why she's calling you that.
“Well, she stayed at my place after we got off last night since it was so late. As you know I live within walking distance from the office, but we didn't do anything but watch a movie and eat fried chicken. I got her some beer but I don't get why she's acting so different. I let her sleep in my bed sure but nothing happened because I slept on the couch.” you explain.
“I mean do you like her?” Siyeon asked
“Yes!” you explain “Too much to be exact” you add
Siyeon looks at you confused before saying “What do you mean?”
You sigh before answering “Well you have to promise me that you won't call HR on me.”
“Wait why?” Siyeon asks confused
“Just promise me and I'll explain.” you sigh again
“Okay. So ever since this morning when Yoohyeon came in and teased me about Bora and me. My mind has been racing and giving me visions of her and I “having a good time” all over the office.” you explain
Siyeon’s eyes go wide “Holy shit.” she exclaimed a bit too loud causing others to take notice. You tell those who looked over that you just shared a good recipe with her. You get suspicious looks all around but everyone eventually goes back to what they were doing.
“Oh, so you like her,” Siyeon affirms. You nod and she responds by asking, “What are you going to do about it?” you hesitate before you respond in a whisper
“Probably transfer departments, but hopefully it won't come to that.”
Not only did Sua come to work with more enticing attire but the pet names continued and her touch became increasingly more flirty. It was agonizing. It also didn't help that the work days got longer so your invites to her became more frequent. On the nights she stays she cuddles you relentlessly. On the off nights, she teases you all day with flirty touches and revealing outfits. Your only respite was your chats with Siyeon which would always end the same. “You should just fuck her and see what happens.” and your response would be. “Siyeon that's our boss. I can't do that” Siyeon would shrug and leave. Usually, after that Sua would call you in to start working.
Weeks go by the treatment gets better and worse. It became so flagrant that Dami asked you if Sua and you were dating. This is significant because Dami and you barely talked about anything besides work. That wasn't even the craziest part. You would think that with this unrelenting sexual tension between the two of you work productivity would be diminished and you'd be at each other's throats, but the exact opposite happened. All of your metrics/numbers were through the roof, and Sua and you were on fire. Spend almost every evening together after work going on cute dates all over town, but eventually, the guilt and overwhelming infatuation began to eat at you.
So You call in a favor with your friend Sakura who works in a different department. She gets you transferred in the nick of time because Sua’s advances grew more intense each day and the Beast inside grew more rapacious to indulge your hunger. That night before the schedule transferred Sua and you were working late on a massive project. Sua knew she and you were going to have to stay late so she brought a change of clothes. Her work out however was distracting you as it was a blue crop top with a black tie (which fueled several more fantasies and visions) However that wasn't the worst part. Every time Sua would stretch or lean into you the crop top would move and you get a major peek at her breasts. You are barely holding it together when the two of you finish up.
“Ah, I can't believe we finished all that,” Sua exclaimed you nodded quietly. She looks over to you her eyes Misty and sincere. So you tell her the truth… partially
“I feel stuck. Like I love working with y'all but I just need a change of scenery,” you say holding back the fact that for the last three weeks, you have had an erection that wouldn't go down no matter how many times you jack off at home because of her. Sua seems to take your words at face value and is saddened. You invite her to stay the night, which she takes. Your night with Sua is surprisingly chaste and comforting. The two of you go to a nearby steak house where you both eat and fight off fatigue. When the bill comes you pay for it as Sua has gone to sleep sitting upright. You smile at her cut expression. When it's time to leave you carry your passed-out boss back to your place. As you do you hear Sua say “I feel so safe in your arms honey.” it tears you up inside because your brain is full of images of groping her and having your way with her. When you get home you set her down on the bed and lock the door. You try to get to sleep but every time you close your eyes visions of her and you plague you. The most common being her riding you into orgasm after orgasm after orgasm till you were left raw and shaking under her tight lithe body. She mentioned how she was a dancer so you also would imagine all of her flexibility being put to use as you would pound into her through various positions. These dreams left you painfully erect and awake. You eventually do fall asleep however and can relax with Sua who eases on the sexy teasing the weekend she stays over.
As you work with Sakura and her team dubbed “le serrafim” due to the angel statute outside of the office you excel. Productivity goes up as you help the operations leader Chaewon whip the team into shape but you can't help but miss Sua. So on your first free lunch break, you visit your old office. on the way you stop at your and Sua’s favorite sandwich shop and get yours as well as hers. The Lady smiles at you and asks “Where's your work wife?” you explain to her that you had been transferred for fear of getting too close. the clerk nods and tells you life is too short to fight love so just go with it. You laugh as you head back to the office. The air is cold as you walk in. The remaining people working look at you with confusion. You ignore them and walk over to Sua’s office. You notice a distinct fragrance but you can't place it.
You open Sua’s door and are shocked at what you see she is wearing. It's a suit Jacket over a bralette and shorts.
“Aish why don't you ever knock?” Sua groans as she works on her laptop until she looks up to see you.
You tried to be good. You did but her outfit was too much for you not to let the beast out. You walk over to her and carefully set your food down before walking behind her desk and kissing her passionately. You pull her shorts down to see she wasn't wearing underwear. You fish out your cock and tell Sua.
“Do you have any idea what you do to me? You little minx.” Sua moans into your lips through a kiss before saying
“I know. I wanted you to take me. What stopped you?”
You roll your eyes at her, “You were my boss and I didn't want to get fired.” as you spoke you lower yourself down to her pussy. She smells exquisite. You take an experimental lick which causes Sua to buck her hips into you before she pulls your face back up.
“I don't need you to tease me. I need you to fuck me. We can do build-up later.” Sua demands. You acquiesce and align your cock with her folds and you plunge in. “Yes, baby yes.” Sua moans as you begin thrusting into her. As you do you vent your sexual frustrations to her.
“That whole last week before I transferred you left me with a boner I couldn't get rid of or sleep off. I'd be having these intense visions of fucking you all across the office,” you growl at her as you pound into her. You slip a hand under her bralette to learn she isn't wearing a bra either “You're such a slut.” you tease Sua. She arches her back as she leans into your body
“No, I just know what I want and how to get it.” Sua rejects
“Oh and what do you want?” you question
“You. Now shut up and cum in me. I need it.” Sua demands. You finally fully submit to her and the Beast inside as you plunge deeper into her pussy. She groans as your cock pierces her again and again.
“God you're so tight,” you say in between thrusts. Sua smiles at you deviously and says
“Wait till you fuck my ass then will talk about tight.” her words are so hot that you tumble into your orgasm blasting her womb with your seed. Sua moans as she comes all over your cock.
“Fuck you came so much,” Sua says as you drip out of her.
“Can you take the rest of the day off?” you ask. Now that you had a taste you needed more.
“Oh so now you're bold and brave. Where was all of this 4 months ago when I was practically throwing myself at you?” Sua demands
“Look I didn't want to assume anything, especially after that bozo tried to put the moves on Gayheon.”
“My hero.” Sua teases you before kissing you again.
“Sua you keep this up I'm going to fuck you all day in this office.”
“Ooh, I like the sound of that.” Sua purred.
“I don't think your employees will So I am going to ask again. Can you take the rest of the day off?” Sua looked at you with a focused and determined look before groaning.
“No, I can't. We have a big project coming up, but today is Friday so you can meet me after work.” you furrow your brows and nod. As the both of you get dressed and try to clean each other up.
“Also we are dating now officially,” you say which causes Sua’s sexy smile to turn into a bigger wholesome one, as you sit down and hand her the lunch you got her.
“Good. I'll see you tonight hound.” you nod and get back to work.
The rest of the day is cake for you now that you've removed that Sua-sized monkey off your back. A lot of the tension you felt washed away. The horny brain fog seemingly lifted and you powered through work with an intensity that impressed and scared Sakura. After work, she asked what had gotten into you
“My girlfriend,” you reply as you go home. Sakura's eyes go wide and smiles.
“Well, then you probably should get going!” Sakura asserts. You nod as you leave for your apartment. You order fried chicken as you wait for Sua to arrive. Two hours later Sua arrives with food at the same time the order arrives. You met Sua while picking up the chicken from the lobby. She smiled at you and walked with you to the elevator.
When entering your apartment Sua grinned happily, “Ah my home away from home.” she said as she sat on your couch. You set the food out for the two of you.
The air grows humid, as the anticipation builds. "So how was work?" you ask trying to resist the urge to pound her in that moment. Sua smiles and responds,
"No, you don't get to just be normal with me like you didn't fuck me in my office." Sua teased
"But babe you looked so hot." you protest
"I know I did, but that wild beast in you couldn't help himself and now you need to take responsibility for your actions. Do you have any idea how you left me so horny after lunch. I had to masturbate during one of my afternoon breaks something I never do because I kept thinking about your cock the rest of the day pounding me. Now you are going to come over here and fuck me. then we are going back to the table to eat." Sua says as she takes her sweatshirt off revealing she was wearing nothing underneath, but in all honesty her words had left you hard anyways. You walk over to her and strip which draws a wide smile out of your paramour. You draw your manhood out of your pants and plunge into her core. You start slowly hoping to not cum fast but Sua was having none of it.
“No enough of the foreplay fuck me like you mean it. I need your cum.” sua demanded so you oblige. As you take her from behind you smack her ass a couple of times before really pounding her. Sua moans. “Yes claim me as yours. Fuck your slutty pussy cum in me.” Seeing Sua so lost in her own pleasure sends you barreling to your own release. You feel her tighten as she screams and cums all over your cock. She then pushes you down and begins riding you.
“I love how you look under me. Maybe I should sound proof my office and take my cock whenever I need it.” the possesiveness in her voice was surprisingly hot to you. You keep pounding her relentlessly as Sua arches her back into you she says, “you like how my pussy takes you. You line how it just wraps around you to tight like a vice.” her words and tone prove to be to much and you cum into her again. You feel her body also reach it's peak as well. But the two of you keep going. Sua’s body is so enticing that you can't help yourself. So you keep pounding her. Sua moans in exctasy “yes keep going she encourages as you venture deeper into her folds. Sua groans in pleasure.
“You like that?” you ask aggressive. Sua moans in response letting you know all you need. Your hand reaches out to her clit where you gently rub and massage. Not used to the overwhelming sensation causes Sua to cum almost immediately. You follow her as well down the rabbit hole of pressure as your errection finally goes down. Sua is almost ready to mount you again but you hold the tiny woman back and put on enough clothes to eat the meal you paid quite a bit for. Sua laughs and gets dressed as well.
Sua jaunts over to your dining table and sits across from you ready to eat. She sits down and eats with you. out of habit, you hand her an ice-cold beer which she happily accepts. While you do so Sua asks some very serious questions.
“So how's the new job?” Sua asks shyly
“It's fine I love working with the Fimmies (the nickname of the department) Although I do miss working with y'all.”
“Yeah, it hasn't been the same in the office without you. I don't have my late-night partner in crime to do sand which runs, or joke partner to make those endless meetings go by faster.” Sua explains
“Well you've always been welcome here I mean I did give you the spare key,” you reply
“ I completely forgot about that.” Sua chuckled. The two of you ate a bit in silence until Sua gave you an intense look. You both got up and raced to each other. Your kiss was passionate and intense. As Sua explored your mouth with her tongue she would bite your lip. On your side, you were desperate to fuck her again and were stripping her to the best of your ability. You stared at her big pale tits desperate for a taste. Sua licked her lips as she stared at your bulge. You attack each other's bodies in a very mirrored sense. You devour her tits while she clutched your cock.
“Yes, baby suck my fat tits.” Sua lets out her voice made Husky, and raspy with intense lust brimming from her body.
When you were both naked Sua smiled, and you plunged into her suffocatingly tight pussy again
“God you're so hot taking my cock.” you exclaim to Sua who moans back
“You like how this tight slutty pussy takes your cock?” Sua moans
“Oh god yes I love how tight you are.” you compliment. It sends Sua wild
“I can't believe you kept this cock from me for almost a year. It fills me up so well” she yells. You bring your eyes up to hers and she engages in another lurid kiss. She is as desperate for this as you are. You paw at her tits now covered in a thin layer of sweat as claws at your face trying to kiss you deeper and deeper Sua grinds on your crotch hard before demanding, “Baby please cum for me I need it. I need you to cum for your slutty noona. I need you to fill me up.” her words and the suffocating tightness of her folds push you over the edge, but Sua is as relentless in pleasure as she is in business and keeps grinding you hoping to coax you into another session, but your body doesn't work like that and so you have to pry her off of you. Fueled by her insatiable appetite for you she gets down on her knees and begins to suck you off. You groan
“Fuck babe at least let's get to the bed first.” you groan out. Sua smiles then drags you (by cock) to the bedroom. After getting into the bedroom and locking the door she says the scariest and horniest thing you've ever heard
“I'm going to fuck you until your brain is mush. You are going to cum in all my holes and on my tits. When I'm done with you your balls’ contents will be all mine. So relax and let your noona drain you.”
You gulp as you watch Sua’s eyes narrow with such intense lust, and want that you begin to grow hard under her gaze alone. She licked her lips as she sashayed over to you. You laugh to yourself because you remember how Gahyeon did little animal cartoon signs she put on each of your doors based on how she saw each of you. Sua was the only one you think Gahyeon got incorrect she was not a warm Crow tit. She was a ravenous tigress and she was not going to be stopped from taking what she wanted. She gave an experimental lick of the right side of your rod and when she reached the top of your head she gave a probing Pierce of your slit. The sensation was insane your body felt on fire in both positive and negative reactions but Sua was a lot stronger than she looked leaving you at her mercy. She smiled watching you squirm as took you down her throat. She looked up at you with an evil smile that gave way to her malignant intent to drain you drier than Death Valley. The crazy part is some weird part of you likes it, and your body relented to her demands. Your dick grew harder in Sua’s mouth which made her smile even bigger as she inhaled more of you. When she came up for air she smiled before devouring your cock whole. The hungrier she became the harder you got for her creating a vicious cycle until you came down her throat. Sua’s eyes rolled into the back of her head as she swallowed your load. As she came from your still-hard clock she smiled before saying “One shot. one kill” You can't help but laugh at her goofy expression and attempt to be sexy.
“Ah, what?” she yells at you before smacking your thigh. The sexual tension bow having dissipated considerably left you with your close work friend whom you spent many hours with. She crawled up to you and smiled.
“I know this is early but God I love you,” you say to Sua which only makes her smile more.
“Well to me we've been dating since you let me in your house. We are just official now,” she says with self-assured confidence. You laugh as the both of you sit up.
“We should finish eating.” you propose. Sua nods, and the two of you get up and put on underwear so neither of you were sitting on cold metal with bare ass. Sua moves her chair close to your side while the two of you eat.
She gives you an inquisitive look before asking, “Hey how do you feel about food play? Or other kinks like that.”
You hesitate as you are pretty vanilla in your taste. Sua picks up on this and says “Don't worry I'll be with you the entire time.” She smiles at you in a way that’s reassuring before hugging you. You chuckle and Sua asks, “What’s so funny?”
“You go from cute to sexy at the drop of a hat. It’s jarring but also funny.” You answer and Sua smiles. The two of you finish your meal before getting up.
“You wanna finish that movie?” Sua asks. You nod as the two of move to your couch. The two of you sit comfortably and watch the end of Shin Ultraman. After the movie Sua stretched before yawning, You were so right that was a good movie and scratched that Avengers itch I'd been having."
"I know right? Plus you're in and out in a quick two hours max." You respond
"Yeah. Maybe next time I'll give Mask Rider a try." Sua said pleased. Her eyes narrow as she gets closer “we have one hole left.” she said hungrily before pulling both of underwear down. She gets on top and says “let me ride you baby.” before sinking her ripe ass on your manhood. You groan Sua’s eyes widen with rapture as she bathes in the adoration you give her as you paw at her breast trying to release the overwhelming sensation of her ass on your dick. She also revels in the dominance she has over you. “You like your tight little ass.” Sua says as she bounces on your cock while you massage her tits. You nod.
“Good because from now on this cock is always going to finish our sessions in this tight little ass.” you groan as Sua speaks. She loves watching you squirm under her. “I need an answer dear.” Sua says in a honeyed yet malicious tone. .you're trying to hold on but Sua demands your attention as she is trying her hardest to force another orgasm out of you.
“Babe stop trying to hold off and just let me wring you dry.” Sua teases as she rides you harder. Your moans serve as more fuel to her passion as she rides you determined to drain you. “Come on baby cum for me. Please cum for me.” Sua’s words make you explode inside of her which triggers her orgasm. Sua smiles before saying “not bad for my work husband. When she hops off your dick she laughs at your still hard dick. She smiles and wraps her tits arou d your cock. You scream as pleasure and pain blur and sends you into another orgasm. Sua gets up when your cock finally softens but it's not for long as she starts to rub your cum all over her tits. Your dick hardens once more and you put your foot down.
“Sua stop I can't cum any more.”
Sua mounts you and says “we’ll see about that.” you growl at her and slam your cock into her pussy. If she needs to drain you to get off then you would get your pleasure first. You thrust into her violently as Sua is enraptured. Her pussy squeezes you tight as your sensitive cock runs in and out. You groan as her body draws another orgasm out of you and sends her into another orgasm. Sua screams, “yes baby yes.” before the two of you pass out. When you come to you still feel a wet sensations around your cock. You jolt down and see Sua and you are still connected. You sigh and go back to sleep content and at peace with holding Sua tighter.

Y/n, a famous actress known for her beautiful face and captivating personality but also her incredible acting skills. You had been nominated for over 50 awards and won 5 oscars. It had been a while since you were on a set nor a movie. The last film was a roaring success and the critics were crazy about it! The media begged for another film starring Y/N Y/L/N.
The first thing you heard when you woke up was the sound of your phone ringing. Your agent- Carolina, was calling. You quickly answered- yawning and hoping she wouldn’t hear it. “Y/n! Great news!” You sighed, not really understanding what was happening. “You got the job!” The job? what is she talking about? “huh?” You rubbed your eyes, laying back down. “The movie!! Adam Driver is in it too! Oh my gosh i can hear them now! ‘Y/n y/l/n and Adam Driver are co-stars in the biggest hit of the year!” Once you heard his name, you sprung up “Wait what?” “Yeah! They want you here in LA by tomorrow morning. I’ve already booked you a flight to leave in..5 hours! Bye!” She hung up before you could say another word. You glanced over at the clock- 9:35. The flight was at 2:15 and it would take a while to pack and get ready. So, being the smart woman you are, you got up and started the day. Showering, packing, and of course- stopping to get starbucks.
Once you arrived in LA, you headed to the condo where you would be staying for a majority of filming. That morning you woke up and started getting ready for the day. Showering, and making a coffee before you headed out to the table read. You threw on a pair of leggings and a tshirt. It was late autumn so you took a jacket on the way out. At the studio you said hello to the crew and a huge thank you to the casting director. “Y/n!” It was Carolina- she ran up to you and embraced you in a tight hug. “How was the flight?” You smiled at the redhead girl “Great.” Carolina jumped up and down with excitement and handed you sheets of paper. On the cover was the name of the film, the name of the director-JJ Abrams- and your name. “Heres your script. You need to go ahead and head in there! Bye!” She walked away, the sound of her heals clicked across the floor. You quickly skimmed through the pages while walking and not paying attention. You soon enough ran into someone, your coffee spilling over you and the floor along with your script- which was on the floor…covered in coffee. “Oh gosh Im so sorry!” You apologized while picking up your script, wincing at the wet paper. “You might want to watch where you are going next time.” The voice was soft but stern. You looked up and realized it was Adam Driver.
He was wearing all black and his hair was messy. He glanced at you with a subtle stare. “Im so sorry!” You stood up, brushing yourself off. “No worries, happens to the best of us.” He rolled his shoulders back and popped his neck, closing his eyes. Damn he was attractive. ”You headed in?” You asked, trying to keep your composure together. Adam simply just nodded.
The first day of the read consisted of going over the aspects of the film and the time line of production. After the read through, filming would start, then the movie premiere would take place after filming and production in Hollywood, but that was a whiles away. When the read was over you walked out with another co star. Heading to your condo, you received a text from Carolina. "Girl, just talked to JJ and he just gave me word that there is a sex scene between you and Adam 😁" The stupid emoji at the end made you cringe. Carolina giving you this news shot your nerves through the roof. As if you weren't already nervous enough about working with Adam, having to film a intimate scene made it far worse. Kicking your shoes off and falling onto your bed, you opened instagram, an attempt to get your mind of the situation at hand, it didn't work.

mirror | manor (chapter 11)
Summary: After the events of Mirror | Void, a newly-christened Dark has two goals: take revenge on Mark, and, hopefully…
Find the DA.

Dark knows the game.
Of course he does— he read the script.
He just expected them to see through it.
Then again... they haven’t seen through anything Mark’s done. They just don’t remember.
He can’t decide if that’s a blessing or a curse.
He sticks to the shadows as they approach, entirely too darling in what amounts to a burglar’s costume, as they wriggle their way inside.
Mark is his own brand of buffoon, and the ‘guards’ he hired match it to the letter, not a drop serious or truly threatening.
(“Sorry I didn’t message you first,” he says, brushing out bits of glass from his hair. “I tried to jam the cell signal and, um… it’s just broken.”)
Imbecile.
Even the dog is there, playing a role. How droll.
Even if she is a very good girl.
All throughout this, he watches for the guard’s radios, for a television screen, for— for anything that he might use to sway the DA, catch their attention without Mark noticing.
If he can just separate them—
The thing is, though, Mark is either ridiculously prepared for his planning, or is completely thoughtless about small, realistic details; throughout the entire museum, no guard has a radio, no wall has a screen.
Not ones that work, anyway— not a connection to anything remotely electromagnetic. Props at best. It’s the least technologically-advanced modern building Dark has been in since…
Well, since he left that manor, but that hardly counts.
The point stands that he’s unable to do much of anything but watch as the DA rolls their eyes and smiles at Mark’s antics, creeps quietly along while the man makes a fool of himself, face set and focused.
He’s seen that look. Pre-trial look. All business.
And they called him too serious all that time ago.
So fondly…
At any rate, their supposed treasure is both easy to get to and utterly unremarkable. A wooden case, carved but hardly special wood, the gem plastic even from his vantage point. A prop, like everything else.
And yet…
Mark lifts the box, and—
This is the end of the script. A successful heist, hightailing it out before they get caught, a seemingly-sincere thanks for help.
But there’s something. Like a little nudge, something like how he feels using the void, how the Earth seems to shift when the Host speaks creation.
The alarm trips.
Mark gives them a choice. Sneak out, or face the guards.
Perhaps... perhaps he overlooked. Perhaps he was given a working script, not the final draft.
Perhaps it’s another of Mark’s machinations.
There was no choice. Why is there a choice?
Why do they get a choice?
It doesn’t matter, really, because the DA picks exactly as he expected they would.
“We have to sneak out, it’s too dangerous, otherwise,” they say, just barely audible over the blaring alarm.
Mark’s face crumbles into a pout. “You’re no fun,” he whines— like a toddler; Dark half expects him to start stomping his feet— but he dutifully uncovers the sewer entrance, grumbling all the way.
The DA just watches, arms crossed. Petty.
They didn’t used to be so petty, but Mark deserves it, if anyone.
Dark very well understands that the entire thing is engineered, a massive staged undertaking to fool the DA and entertain an audience, unseen to his eyes but present all the same.
It doesn’t stop the trip through the sewers any less harrowing, doesn’t prevent him from using his unique position to draw attention away from the DA if ever they come a hair too close to getting caught.
It might be fake, but…
He doesn’t put it past Mark to introduce some very real danger. He’s a method actor, and he’d want his players to follow accordingly for maximum effect.
Dramatic ass.
They follow dutifully behind the entire way through the dark, though— and he notes it with a point of pride, one he chalks up to just how put out Mark seems— with a good amount of non-verbal sass. They cross their arms, roll their eyes, and stubbornly march right along behind Mark.
Not that Mark doesn’t try to get rid of them— oh, he tries to shake them like gum stuck to his shoe, and it’s a thrill to see him huff and grumble when they simply shake their head. He pouts— at several points! So very childish.
Then—
Hm. Unsurprising that the creator of this convoluted mess would whip up some way to surely remove them; if there’s one possible thing they’d listen to above anything else, it’s a worksite safety sign.
Not for lack of effort, though. “I… I really don’t know if we should split up, Mark,” they say, casting an uneasy glance back at the tunnel they just left. “I know it says only one, but if something happens—“
“Nothing’s going to happen! Nothing bad has happened even once!” His bright grin only gets a— astoundingly dry— look in return. It’s nearly impressive that he barrels on, anyway. “It’s for safety, buddy! You’re all about safety— and! We’re synchronized! In five minutes you just follow me over. Or I follow you, whichever.”
Mark gives them a once over, all while grinning, and if Dark wasn’t looking— wasn’t incensed at the familiarity— he wouldn’t have noticed, wouldn’t have cared. Alas.
It’s too… possessive. Too pleased.
He doesn’t need Damien in his head to stoke his rage, it seems, not anymore. The only thing that stops him is what Mark says next.
“You have a choice, sunflower.”
A choice. There it is again, more choices, as if giving them the power to change any of this. Giving them a say.
So they don’t feel trapped.
Aren’t they, though? If Mark wrote everything, created everything, what kind of choice is it?
However…
They glance back at the shadowy tunnel again, frowning, worrying at the sleeves of their top in a too-familiar pattern. If they turn back, they’ll be away from him. How far apart can they both get in five minutes?
How far apart do they need to be for him to intervene?
This is his chance. It may well be the only one he’ll get, and the margin of error is far too slim for his liking— he must get this right. He must say the right thing— and pray they don’t hate or fear him.
Thankfully, time goes a little off-kilter in the Void, or else he’d have to make a very quick plan.
He’ll have to ease them in. See what they could possibly remember from that night, prod what needs prodding. It’s an easy enough parlor trick to conjure up a memory these days.
After that… what could he say?
Damien— he— was never short for words in his past life. As mayor— as councilman, as law student, as debate captain, as his father’s son— he simply had to be good with them, and he was.
Not quite so smoothly charismatic as Mark, not as bombastic and warm as Wil, but— well, he didn’t make mayor through his familial connections, whatever certain parts of his constituency may have believed. He delivered his speeches, his debates, with calm strength, something personable but solid.
Hell, he—
He used to write them for fun. The person— people, really— standing right outside this pocket of Void once teased him.
How are you writing a paper now? Finals are over! Come on, live a little!
Even I don’t want to spend all summer in a library. Won’t you come with me? There are new flowers in the arboretum!
The memory comes unbidden, and throws him off-balance; thankfully, he doesn’t fall out of his incorporeal state or ruin any of his planning.
Such a memory… but how? That’s more of Damien’s—
He hasn’t heard him. Not since that agonizing split when he entered their dream.
Mayhaps they didn’t split.
Mayhaps—
“Well… if you’re sure, Mark,” they sigh, hardly thrilled at the idea. “But it has to be five minutes. If you disappear on me—“
“Relax! It’ll be okay, you’ll see me. Sheesh, you’re so serious.” Mark huffs— then straightens himself. Smiles, even as they turn away, towards Dark. “Yes, alright! You go down that tunnel, I’ll go down this tunnel. If you see anything, and I mean anything, you just turn that sweet little tuchus around and—“
He’s had about enough of that. With hardly more than a thought, he whisks Mark away elsewhere, wherever elsewhere may be, and rolls out his Hall of Memories.
And prays.
They used to pride themself on being unflappable, before, and he can see shades of it, now: their face remains the same, alert but not startled as they take in the paintings, the dust swirling in the beam of their flashlight.
He knew the truth of that, though, and it, too, remains; you need not look at their face for their feelings, but their hands.
Though one holds the flashlight, all ten fingers are in motion— tapping the length of the flashlight, curling and uncurling in their sleeve, the belt loop, the zippers and buttons of their bag. Moving for comfort, perhaps— certainly no expression of joy, as the rest of them is ramrod-straight, stiff with each step.
He longs— longs, what is happening to him— to say something to ease the anxiety, raise the darkness, but he can’t. This is no matter he can explain with soft, comforting words and a pot of tea. His powers aren’t of light at all.
They can, though, reach an electromagnetic signal, and now that they’re alone, he pushes through his thoughts.
Finally, you’re away from him. Aren’t you tired of it?
What?
He’s running you ragged. Don’t you feel like you’re running in circles?
That’s not what he said— not quite, anyway.
They won’t tell you anything. No one seems to question it.
Why can’t he change it?
I know you’re in there. But I thought you’d see through it.
The final painting, of the monster himself, grinning like a fool. It begins to crumble before them both— they step back, fingers tight around both phone and flashlight— and Dark gets a split second of pure dread before—
Before—
My villain. I wrote everything. Even you.
It’s not painful. It’s not— it’s not even close to the searing split of the dreamworld, nothing to the pain in his stolen body, nuts compared to his shattered leg almost a century ago. It doesn’t hurt at all.
He almost wishes it did.
“Same snake, different skin,” he muses, and something inside him quails at the sight of fear— truly, rare fear— in their eyes when they turn to take him in. “Always spinning his yarns, his webs, his lies.”
He means to say it. He means to say he’s nothing but a monster in human skin, that they’re being dragged one way or another at his whims— he doesn’t mean to sound so… angry. So—
Villainous.
He screams, though it doesn’t come out— not of this body. Instead, there’s the discomfort of a fragment, juddering, lashing void in every direction. He only keeps enough sense to keep it away from them.
Without him— without him!— his body paces, a smile too similar to Mark’s on his face. “Perhaps we’ve met a hundred times already, and you simply don’t remember it. Perhaps you’re tired of me repeating myself over and over and over and over again!”
He’s seen them a hundred times, but have they met? Has he said anything to them, his desperate wish for them to remember and leave simply that, a wish?
No. This is Mark’s doing, but he’s far from the only one with power. Dark pushes past the discomfort, past the fragments that shatter out of him, and tries to touch it. Tries to see what, exactly, controls him.
It’s a web.
Not unlike a spider’s, really, glimmering threads of words in several different directions, coalescing into bright points of light wherever they meet.
Ah, the choices. Planned for, then— prolonging the make-believe.
He sees an island man. He sees a brilliant scientist. He sees a pirate, an adventurer, a prisoner. He sees their end a dozen times, more, always coming back to the start.
He sees himself— but his point, his thread, is loose.
Not so in control now, are you, Mark?
They must know. They have to know.
With what little wriggle room he has, he reaches out— and changes a couple letters. One at each point. Nothing shifts, nothing breaks, but something is different— hopefully, different enough for his clever attorney to find.
They’re the sharpest he’s ever known. If anyone could, it’s them.
He settles back into his body, still speaking without him— without him!— and pacing before a desk. It doesn’t feel so wrong with his newfound confidence… in fact—
“You want answers.” He smiles to himself, happy to have control again, and for the hell of it, picks up the glass of wine— seemingly, so kindly provided for by the writer. “Well, games were always his forte.”
He’s not sure of the vintage, or even sure of the varietal, given the monochrome nature of his Void, but he takes a sip, anyway.
He tries hard not to gag, but can’t hide his wince. For all his budget, Mark hardly splurged on something decent, it seems.
Suppose that’s the loss of his wine cellar at work.
“But allow me this one moment of self indulgence.”
He sets the wine down. Neither of them will be partaking of it.
“Excuse me—“
He stops, holding the box— the conduit in this little foray into pretend— and looks at them from atop the desk. They’re— smiling a little. Not big, but it’s theirs, and if his heart still beat— “Yes?”
“Why’d you pick that wine if you didn’t like it?”
He wants to laugh. Oh, he wants to laugh at that, because in the face of— quite frankly— something frightening and beyond their control, they’re teasing it. He loves them.
He loves them.
“I didn’t,” he admits, truthfully. There’s something so warm in his chest, something he can’t prevent from showing on his face, so fond. “Sometimes we take what we’re given, for better or for worse. This game, for instance. This box.
“So much trouble, all for something so small.” He looks to them curiously, smile fading. “Do you want to know what’s inside this box?
“I didn’t imagine we’d have to be in sewers to get it,” they add dryly. “After all this, I definitely want to know, and it has to be something worth it, or else.”
He’d laugh at the thought, them tearing into Mark for dragging them over hill and dale, but he’s seen what lies ahead. They’ll have time to do it, and the nudging at his body indicates he’s rather short of time himself. “Well, I know how much you like a good game, so throughout your… adventures, I’ve hidden codes. Several codes. Find them all, and you’ll get your truth.”
They don’t look especially pleased at that, but the light comes into their eyes despite the slump of their shoulders— the light that kept them up all night with an encyclopedia or three, classes next morning be damned. “More games. Why am I not surprised?”
They eye him for a few long seconds, brow furrowed, even as the Void rumbles and sparks around them both. It’s too familiar, as if they’re reading him down to his core. “You aren’t Mark, are you? Not some character. But… you’re so familiar. Who… who are you?”
He could give them his name. It might spark something for them, kickstart whatever process they need to regain their memory of what happened. He wouldn’t even care if they screamed at him for all he put them through.
The Void, though, shakes and cracks, and he shakes his head with a slight frown and a mountain of regret. He has a modicum of control, still, but not fully. Not right now. “That’s all I’m going to give you.”
They open their mouth, but the Void winks them away, gone to their next run.
All he can do is sit and watch from here.

hi! I saw your post about the why episode title change why 11 scenes cut why lamp etc etc and I know some of it but not all, and I was hoping you could elaborate on spngate— if it’s not too much trouble— or point me in a direction where I can join you in the spn gate?
I feel ashamed for HOW LONG i let this ask just rot in my askbox (it's from january, apparently, now it's april. i thought maybe two weeks passed but NO. it was months. ANON I AM SO SO SO SO SORRY. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART) but now with the power of this url and the wine i am currently sipping, let me give you the best, most thought-out answer that i possibly can.
I don't know how long you've been following/watching spn, so I won't get into real deep iceberg theories that go back to season 8 and jeremy carver, for the purpose of this essay answer I'll just stick to the year anno domini 2020, and will try to do my best to tell you what happened.
Okay, maybe 2019. So, in june 2019, when the first scripts and drafts for s15 are presented, these things happen: 1. apparently, according to Berens, the confession scene is the first thing that was written for season 15. 2. Jensen Ackles is sat down and asked if he would be okay with this. (question is asked: why would they ask jensen if all he does in this scene is look at cas, he doesn't say anything, he does not confess, it changes nothing about his character, etc.; if you put the real tjlc tinfoil hat on you'd ask hey , maybe they asked him if precisely that is okay, if he is okay with the fact dean is practically silenced here but that's Deep) 3. Jensen apparently is okay with that, because it happens.
also this thing happens around the same time: 1. they write the ending for the brothers, and no matter what version of the finale we're talking about, Dean dies 2. Jensen Ackles is Not Okay with this. he calls Kripke who then, in a call and/or email assures him it's a good ending (Jensen says that) and also very quickly after that Jensen is announced to play Soldier Boy in Kripke's The Boys. make of that what you want
They film, blah blah, march 2020, covid happens, they stop production right after they film the confession. Last episode to air is 15x13, last episode they film is 15x18, they almost have a plane crush when flying to vegas con, and then, a loooong break until august 2020. Now, from what we know, there were two versions of the finale - the pre-covid finale they were supposed to film if the filming schedule wasn't interrupted, and the finale that happened.
What was supposed to be in the Original Finale/Pre-Covid Finale, we still don't know exactly, but from what the cast said, there was supposed to be a big cast reunion, Harvelle's Roadhouse in Heaven, Kansas Band (why are they dead?) playing there after Dean gets there and so on.
Anyway. July 2020. Misha does a livestream with Michael Sheen (the SuperGood campaign) where he says he is going back to filming the last two episodes in a few weeks. he said it LIVE. it's on youtube. people analyze the background from Misha's livestreams and photos and conclude he is in Vacouver, where spn is filmed. He also says that he is going back filming in a few interviews. Also here.
August 2020. They go back to filming in august 2020 to film 15x19 and 15x20.
August 20th, 2020, Misha's birthday.
Tumblr media
I wasn't on set TODAY. so casual. of all days i wasn't there today.
August 24th, 2020, day 6/8 of filming 15x19, Angel with a Shotgun is hash tag Song of The Day while filming scenes of 15x19 (scene 28, 31).
September 4th, 2020. ALL THEY FILM, for the whole DAY, is one scene. They usually film a few. They film one. Song of the day? The Night We Met.
Somewhere before the episodes starts to air again, Dabb says only 30% of the audience will like the finale. Anyway, everyone concludes, Misha is filming, destiel is more or less going canon, but everyone including bibros is sure Misha is filming and will be there for the finale.
Originally, "Despair" was called "The Truth".
Finale airs.
It feels shorter (apparently it's not) but it does have an additional ad break. For Walker. But it feels shorter because of the "carry on my wayward son" cover montage that lasts too long and later it's discovered thanks to scripts that dropped that there are ELEVEN scenes that were filmed,, but didn't make it to the episode. The script that drops is also very telling, where scenes are just [OMMITTED]. It was explained that they wanted to have actor there but they didn't want actors to quarantine for two weeks to film one or two scenes BUT then that's exactly what they did with Jim Beaver lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah. I also remember Misha at a con (DarkLight?) where, after asked about the original ending, he answers that the original ending was something that would be better explored in fanfiction anyway. Theory rises he filmed and was cut off the episode without his or Jensen's knowledge because Misha sat down his kids to watch the spn finale (which was the first episode they were supposed to watch ever, why would he do that if he's not there?) and then, CW SPN twitter posts a goodbye video that has everyone from the cast and their mother BUT MISHA AND JENSEN ARE NOT THERE. Jensens sexy silence starts.
THEN THE WILDEST THING HAPPENS.
November 25th, the Spanish Dub. 15x18 drops in Brazil and Dean says "and i you" to Cas, after he confesses. No "don't do this cas" but "and i you". Tumblr stops working for two hours, people on discords are screaming, no one knows whats happening, someone claims Jensen was called in September 2020 to record some adlibs? To record the muffled sobs Dean does while on the floor. Theory is supported by the fact that in the Bazil version? When Dean sits on the floor? The sound that plays are birds. Chirping birds. Sounds don't match, what was Dean saying while crying on the floor, question arises.
Everyone decides there was a Rogue Translator who managed to hide from The CW Sniper (who is the reason actors just dont tell us everything) and translated some kind of Original Script. Voice Actors are invited to a podcast where they debunk this saying that it was added because the translator felt this was the right response or something like that. Anyway they debunk the fact that there existed, at any time, a version of a script, that maybe was send to them, where Dean says I love you too. This was a wild night, no one slept.
And like. I could make this post longer, but I am planning to, one day, make a huge masterpost with real sources about that because honestly you could write a book about it.
But tl;dr spngate is a theory that misha did film for the last 2 episodes and the changes they made were truly last minute (september 2020), they were going for a canon destiel, possibly human!cas engame, dabb was always on our side, and it's based on stuff like jensen actively hating the ending to the point he made his prequel after 2 years of radio silence, 11 scenes just cut from the finale, misha saying he is going back filming, and people like mark pellegrino saying the last scene he filmed was with alex and misha. also the onion field. why lamp is the theory that cas is represented and symbolized by lamps throughout the show and when dean dances with a Lamp in a drug induced dream instead of, say, some kind of a lady he is actually thinking about cas.
also there are little things like when jensen at an online con before the finale says that oh yes i am wearing a grey flannel but tomorrow? who know it could be blue and green. and we all collectively lost our shit. like when he said he is most excited to "tackle" with cas in season 15. or that "dean has no taste, clearly". WHY WAS YOUR PERMISSION NEEDED JENSEN
there are a lot of things i didn't mention here because i simply can't unflod this whole thing just like that but
Tumblr media
but if you understand this picture you might be entitled to financial compensation

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, given the previous thing about different ways people write, but I just wanted to tell you because I'm so excited: I finished the first draft of that script! I actually finished a writing thing for the first time in over a decade! I've never attempted to write a script before, and now I've finished my first first draft. My friend said that's a big deal, and it makes writing other scripts much easier when you finish your first. Is that what you've found?
Oh apparently I have a few more questions, sorry: The first time you finished a project, and you knew you were on literally the last few paragraphs or scene, or what have you, how did that feel for you? And when you were done, did you initially love writing, or did you debate ever writing again? Did you start working on something right away, or did you break for a little bit?
Sorry, I'm just so excited and proud of myself right now, and wondering what feelings might come next. I haven't been this proud of myself in I don't know how long. I mean, I know I have to finalize it, and even still, I know I'll never be able to get it made. However, for right now, I'm proud of myself! I'll probably go back to being sad I'll never get it made tomorrow though, which sucks, but it's a good night right now!
I hope you're doing well today! Sorry for the bombardment of questions.
First of all: congratulations! You've got every right to be excited. Screenwriting isn't easy or simple even at the best of times. Doing it well requires that you write in ways that can seem really counterintuitive when compared to working in prose. And it's always, ALWAYS a big deal when by completing something you break a long creative dry spell. So GOOD ON YOU! You got the job done. :)
(And now, of course, comes rewrite. The brain—yours, or someone else's—always has notes. But I'm sure you knew that.)
While I know how it is to be relieved on finishing a first script, my weird work history makes me kind of an outlier when it comes to discussing this. I went with unexpected speed from "I'm Just A First-Time Novelist, What Do I Know?" to "I'm Just A First-Time Screenwriter, What Do—WAIT WHAT??". Because the man who was soon to be my story editor on Scooby and Scrappy-Doo walked in the door one evening, having just read The Door Into Fire, and said, "Would you be interested in writing cartoons?"
It was kind of a surprising career development, but I quickly learned at that point in my life that when the Universe turns up on your doorstep with the Moon on a silver platter, you don't tell it to try next door: you say "Wait right there and I'll get a knife and fork." In the space of a given month of being walked around Hanna-Barbera for the first time, I turned in my first animation script... and then sagged in my chair on getting the phone call when my story editors told me, "That's a strong start. Now we have some notes." And all I could do was collapse with relief that I had not fucked it up.
However, this situation also left me in no position where I'd be able to debate ever writing a screenplay again... because suddenly there were a couple of very intent guys telling me "Okay, new story premise coming over to you, we need the outline by next Thursday and the script the Thursday after, you okay with that?"
(Are you kidding me? I thought. Let me get the knife and fork!)
So as I said, I'm really an outlier in this regard. The next three years of my life pretty much went as above, as Tom Swale and Duane Poole (great Thoth rest both their gentle souls) took me with them from one show to another, and kept me busy. (Thereby financing the writing of So You Want To Be A Wizard and The Wounded Sky and assorted other work.) But there's no question that each time you finish a script, each time you type FADE TO BLACK, you feel better about the whole enterprise. It doesn't precisely get easier. But it gets more familiar. And that helps. (If I have to be locked in a haunted house, I'd sooner it was one I'd played in when I was a kid than one I'd never been inside before...)
Anyway, again: congratulations. But also: Do not be too sure you'll never have it made. ...Granting you that "made" can look a lot of different ways in different times and places, and can shift under your feet without warning. But the world that depends on scripts can do very, very weird and unusual things without warning. Best to do your homework and be ready for them... and know where the knife and fork are.
Also, a side note: As you do more of this work you may well find that finishing a script leaves you with more energy, not less. I think this may be a lot more normal than we routinely allow ourselves to believe. It makes sense to me, from the psych-nurse end of things, that successful completion of a project allows the release of a lot of energy that you've been holding in reserve to help you cope if something went horribly wrong with the piece of work you just finished. Me, when I've felt that rush, I do a thing that C. J. Cherryh taught me: immediately roll another sheet of paper into the typewriter. ...Though these days, it'd be "open a new file." You don't necessarily have to do anything with that blank page or screen if you don't want to. But it's wise to be ready.
In any case: all the good luck to you (because sheer blind luck plays its part in this business, no matter how much we wish all our hard work counted for more)! ...And let us know how you get on.

Azul Info Compilation part 9: Jade
Jade enjoys mocking Azul extremely.
He goes off-script during Halloween to force Azul to dance in front of visitors (“it’s called ‘ad-libbing’, my dear Azul”), and when a possessed Azul is discovered during Spectral Soiree he says “Oh, but it’s so entertaining. Couldn’t we just leave him like this for a while?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Azul regains consciousness Jade confirms whether or not he is still possessed by quizzing him on Mostro Lounge earnings from the previous night.
(When asked what he remembers about being kidnapped he says he does “faintly recall hearing Azul’s voice”, while Azul says he “had a dream where I was floating in the ocean. I was unusually buoyant.”)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jade jokes about Azul being thrown “into the depths of despair” when the lounge has few customers, teases Azul about being an “ink-spewing crybaby” despite having signed an NDA covering Azul's childhood and happily leaves him with a difficult task during Vargas Camp 2 during a tense moment, taking up a far easier task for himself.

We also see him tease Azul during Book 4 by complimenting Kalim on his compassion and saying, “would that Azul could take a page from your book” and when he observes that Azul says he would like to “offer (his) services” during Wish Upon a Star, what he actually means is “take advantage of people’s wishes for your own gain”, he follows up with “That sounds rather fun, actually.”
When Jade makes a comment during Vargas Camp 2 about going to fish for an octopus Azul responds that, in that case, he looks forward to grilling eel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azul encourages Riddle and the others to go to Jade’s Mountain Lovers Club exhibition in Book 5 as “I assume he’d be all alone and bored out of his skull otherwise”.
Jade’s dorm uniform vignette consists of Jade feigning interest in transferring to Pomefiore in accordance with a plan that Azul has devised in order to trick Vil into promoting a drink offered at Mostro Lounge.
There is an interesting interaction where Vil presses Jade for information about how he met Azul and Jade refuses to answer, saying that he hasn’t “the foggiest idea” what brought them together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vil is suspicious about him having forgotten “such an important event in his life”—perhaps related to aforementioned NDA?
The vignette ends with Jade returning to Octavinelle (“Azul convinced me—tears in his eyes—that Octavinelle is at a complete loss without me”) and Azul welcomes him back as “the best in the school at worming your way into other’s hearts”.
Jade assures him that “satisfying Vil was like child’s play in comparison to a certain someone. My stay at Pomefiore was like a well-deserved breaks”. Azul responds, “Oh, you jokester, you.”
For all his mocking of Azul, however, Jade does seem to concede to his requests in a way similar to Floyd: Jade does not wear a t-shirt that Azul has forbidden and refrains from filling the Mostro Lounge menu with mushroom-based dishes when Azul asks him to stop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a vignette we see Azul being quite strict with Jade when he made a poor decision related to Mostro Lounge, but Jade is undeterred: in the same vignette we see Riddle complimenting Azul’s role in capturing Grim, which transitions to Jade going above and beyond at a task Azul had assigned him by drafting a list of home countries, hobbies, least favorite foods, worst subjects, public magicam accounts and “secret” magicam accounts for Azul’s use.
Riddle explains, “At first glance, it may seem as though Jade only follows Azul and Floyd’s lead, but that is a grave misunderstanding.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also get a small example of Jade keeping Azul informed about goings-on in the school when, in a separate vignette, Jade is nearby when Floyd commits himself to performing in a live show with Kalim, and Jade says he will be notifying Azul.
Jade and Azul also seem to share a healthy rivalry, teasing one another both before and after Beanfest.

The church scene with Jason was actually so important to the Wheeler parents and it's not talked about enough... Lucas said it best when he said "normal" wasn't real it's just for psychopaths like Jason (not the direct quote but that's the gist of it), because that's what everyone realized that season. Karen goes from nagging Mike hardcore to making it clear by the end of the season that she loves him before hugging him. Ted goes from calling the DnD club the high school dropouts club to calling the media satanic panic bs. It's subtle, but it's there.
And it's important in understand how both of them interact with Mike. How Karen focused on laying onto Mike about his troublesome behavior and punishing him without doing enough to Mike him feel safe to open up around her. Her problem was always that she wanted Mike to come to her while simultaneously never making him feel like she should. How can Mike feel safe coming to her about the fact that he's gay if she's always harping on his flaws trying to make him a "perfect" child?
Karen realized in that church scene, watching Jason, the good looking heterosexual popular basketball star, the child that every mother at that time would have wanted, the opposite of everything Mike is, ranting and raving about Mike's DnD club and how they're satanist and murders and realized: holy shit who raised him? Who gave him that hero complex? Who indoctrinated him this way? And her realizing that she's glad Mike is uniquely who he is and she loves him for it and she would never change it. And she should show it.
Ted doesn't nag Mike often, but his jabs are almost always related to Mike presenting in any way queer. (I actually was writing a post on this because it's so fascinating but the gist of it is that there's most likely a cycle going on here. It's sitting in my drafts but idk if I'll post it because ~ social anxiety~). Anyways, things like "see what happens", "our son? With a girl?", referring to the DnD club as the "high school drop outs club", and "no sweetie pie" (idk if Ted even knows El exists lol).
"Anything is possible" he says and Karen snaps at him that their children aren't murderers, and of course he knows that... It's not what he meant he says, but he did say it. The DnD clubs are "queer" and "satanic" in the media he reads and watches right? It's his scripted line from what he sees, what he should say because it's what everyone else is saying. But he doesn't believe it. He doesn't believe Mike and his friends are murderers. However, as long as he follows the script, as long as he partakes in this "silly, terrible play" (as Henry called it) where he wakes up, works, eats, sleeps, reproduces, and dies- which are the only things we see Ted ever do bar death- doing the bare minimum performance as a father, then he doesn't have to think about that cognitive dissonance. He doesn't have to think at all.
He could just sit there and eat, letting Jason come and go with his mob, just like he does when Karen is scolding Mike at the dinner table. Except his donuts are uneaten because for once he can't just distract himself when there's someone making his son's DnD club out to be satanists capable of serial murder in a church of all places, and when there's a mob ready to chase them down. And so, for the first time he goes off script- it's subtle, he's just not eating the food in his hand and paying attention. But then in the next scene, he goes even further off script saying that the media satanic panic is tabloid bs rather just just absorbing it or sleeping.
Both Karen and Ted are evolving, it's subtle, but s4 was a turning point for them I think.

So, Helluva Boss season 2 episode 4 thoughts.
First off, the script just… didn't feel very tight? The hospital scene dragged on, Stolas made the same joke three times in a row, the music playing during the M&M/Striker fight was weird, they straight up stole a joke from Hazbin. It didn’t feel like a final draft.
I also completely felt that Striker should have decided to kill Stolas despite Stella calling him off. I was actually shocked that wasn't where it went. It would have only improved things. Striker would have been left a bigger threat at the end, and, more importantly, it would have given his character more integrity.
Pretty much everyone else has said it, but yeah, the Blitz and Loona B plot didn’t fit here. Would have been amazing somewhere else, I really enjoyed it in isolation, but it didn’t fit here.
Also: Ugh, 3/4 of the episodes so far have been Stolitz. And I like Stolitz. I mean, I liked it better before it seems like they've been kinda trying to sanitize it, but whatever. But ¾ of the episodes so far!! Jesus!!
(Also: "eternity is a long time?" Okay, are the Goetias immortal or not? Because at first I thought they were. Originally I even theorized Stolas was a fallen angel. But then in season 2 episode 1 we got the lame childhood friends trope, so apparently he's like forty? So it's like, okay, he has a normal human lifespan, got it. I mean, I don't like that as much, but sure, that's how it is. Except then no, apparently he is immortal, he just happens to be within human lifespan at the moment - but hang on, if the Goetias are immortal, why do they need to keep producing precautionary heirs? I haven't seen anyone else mention this, and it's driving me nuts!! Make it make sense!!)
That’s not to say there weren’t things I didn’t like. ""What does he look like, your highness?" "...Sexy?" "That's Striker, Sir!"" I really enjoyed Striker's monologue - the “you don't get to talk over me” felt so fucking good. And Striker backstory tease!! I need it yesterday!! The Striker song was very very fun, and I liked Striker, Stolas, and Millie lampshading it. The animation was gorgeous, like always.
But overall… eugh. I loved season 1 so much, man, and it just feels like season 2 is a different show. The worst season 1 episode is still better than the best season 2 episode.
Episode 1 just straight-up felt like bad fanfiction of season 1. Episode 2 just... it just didn't make any sense, and the tone clash was awful, and the whole thing was way too Stolitz-centered. Episode 3 is mostly really good, but the whole thing is overshadowed by the Millie Problem.
And Episode 4… idk. I mean, it was… it was fine, I guess. But it's just like... I can't believe this is the same show that gave us Loo Loo Land.

Jenna People wrote in and said, There is a story going around on the Internet saying that the writers originally intended for Jim to have an affair with Cathy.
Angela No!
Jenna Yeah.
Angela No!
Jenna But that John Krasinski was so heavily against this idea that he convinced the writing staff to change their minds about the storyline. Is this true?
Angela Well, you would have never gone for that either.
Jenna Yeah. No.
Angela Uh no.
Jenna We can clear this up right now. Jim was never going to have an affair with or hook up with Cathy. However.
Angela There's a however?
Jenna There were things about the proposed storyline that did bump me and John. Here's how it all went down. So after we filmed Cathy's phone call at the end of Special Project, you know, where she's like talking to her friend and it becomes clear that she's going to go after Jim in Tallahassee. It comes out of the blue.
Angela Out of nowhere.
Jenna Well, that was a total record scratch for me and John. We kind of immediately went into Paul's office and we were like.
Angela Wha- wha- wha- what?!
Jenna Yeah, we were like, exactly, like where is this going? We said, There is no way that Jim can hook up with Cathy. And Paul was like, That is not part of our plan, I promise you. No, that's part of her plan. That's Cathy's plan. Jim is not in that plan. And I actually checked with Warren and Halstead, who wrote this episode, and they confirmed that it was never part of the plan. And, lady, don't ask me how I have it, but I have the original Goldilocks outline for this episode.
Angela You know why?
Jenna Why?
Angela Because you're my best friend. And we're both digital hoarders. You say it's really just me, But you have some old stuff you hold onto.
Jenna I have a few things.
Angela Now you hold on to things almost a little bit more intentionally, whereas mine is just like, you know, crazy clutter.
Jenna Yeah. Well, I did collect things that had to do with Jim and Pam.
Angela Yes.
Jenna And what the Goldilocks was, it was the kind of very first story outline for every script.
Angela Right. Before they went off and wrote anything.
Jenna Exactly. This was what the writers could use when they went to write the script. And it was based on everything that had been pitched. And this document had to be approved by the producers. There is nothing in the Goldilocks about Jim hooking up with Cathy for this episode. Nothing.
Angela So this is even more.
Jenna More proof.
Angela More proof.
Jenna Yes. When I talked to Warren about it, he said that the character of Cathy was always meant to be a kind of like provocateur. You know, you think about when she was introduced. Pam is really bothered that Jim won't admit that she's objectively attractive.
Angela Right.
Jenna But it was never pitched or it was never the intention that Jim would have any romantic feelings toward Cathy. It was always kind of understood by the writers that that was off limits. However.
Angela Another however.
Jenna Another however. In the very first drafts of this script, there was a lot more kind of teasing of the audience. Like, will he? Like, is he being charmed by her? Is he flirting back with her? Or is he just being a nice guy? Like in the version you see here, he is so clearly uncomfortable and is a giant no every time she does something. But in the original script, there was a little bit more like repartee.
Angela Hmm.
Jenna And John and I got to read that, and it really bumped us. We felt like even walking that line was a betrayal. And we did not want that for Jim and Pam's relationship. You know, the producers said that the idea was that they were putting temptation in front of Jim to show how committed he was to Pam. Those teases were more to create tension for the audience than they were to imply that Jim would ever do anything. But because we complained, they made some tweaks to make sure that it felt like this was 100% driven by Cathy and there would be no mixed signals from Jim. Like we didn't want there to be anything where it was like you could say, Well, Jim, you shouldn't have laughed with her in that moment, or you shouldn't have whispered in her ear during that conference room scene. Like, of course she's getting the wrong idea. Those are like examples of kind of the little things that she could have taken the wrong way.
Angela Right.
Jenna So the shooting draft of the script also included a scene where Pam calls Jim's hotel room on speakerphone and Cathy answers the phone.
Angela Oh, I know.
Jenna Yes, we shot it. It was written that Pam is really insecure about this. And even though it was really clear from Jim's side that he's really uncomfortable with Cathy in the room, Pam can't see that. So I didn't like that scene. I didn't like that Pam would become so easily insecure. Because, again, I felt like that pointed to a bigger issue in the marriage. And I asked them, like, How is that going to get resolved? Like, is Pam ever going to tell Jim her feelings?
Angela Yeah. What's the long term ripple effect of that moment?
Jenna Yeah. And there wasn't really an answer. They were like, Oh, it's not an arc. Don't worry. And I'm like, No, but if you're going to bring it up, it's- we should-
Angela It's out there.
Jenna It's out there. So. Yeah.
Angela Well, I watched that scene because it's in deleted scenes, and, you know, there is more to it. There's more to the phone call.
Jenna Yeah. I mean, some of that was a late night writing scramble. I was going to bring it up kind of like where it would happen in the breakdown. So we should definitely talk more about it. I mean, I still have more to say.

OUTTAKES — A collection of bits and pieces of ideas I had and posts I was going to make that never made it to completion
Tumblr media
TRIVIA
I wanted to do posts of miscellaneous trivia and headcanons around certain themes. The only one of these I completed was one on their names. I forced the explanations of Mingeun and Andrew(‘s stage) names into “Double A-Side,” but I do have the rest of them HERE.
I also have some other trivia facts that I think more people should know.
Mingeun keeps a diary in French. He was very strongly encouraged to start one when he was a trainee, and he’s stuck with it ever since. Except he doesn’t want anyone else reading it, which is why he writes in French. It’s also made him a lot better at the language.
The worst-kept Fable secret is that Jaeseop has been in a relationship with his girlfriend since 2016. The best-kept Fable secret is that Jaeseop moved out at the end of 2022 to live with said girlfriend. I am hoping this will have bearing on the story soon other than mentions that Jaeseop doesn’t live with them anymore.
Solidifying the degrees for once because I feel like I’ve said Jaeseop has three different degrees. He does not. His degree is in marketing. Kiyoung’s is in political science, and Andrew’s is in music. Haksu dropped out halfway through but he was studying business administration. His heart was not in it at all.
On the topic of education, Intak went to a technical high school and is a decently qualified fake civil engineer. Eunsu attended SOPA in the Department of Practical Music. Mingeun is the only member without a high school diploma.
The lore-relevant reason for the education is that Taein believes in back-up plans. It’s part of the reason he doesn’t like Mingeun very much. On a tangential note, Neon Nights was the backup if Fable’s debut fell through.
Tumblr media
FANSERVICE MOMENTS THAT CAUSE SECOND-HAND EMBARRASSMENT / 2024 WHITE DAY SPECIAL
Exactly what it sounds like. Also the failed post that inspired this one. It was so cringe I couldn’t go through with it. I wanted to write this like a script. Thinking of the dialogue did me in completely. HERE are the only two scenes I finished.
Other things I had planned on were Haksu’s constant enabling of the boyfriend stans (signing fake marriage certificates at in-person fansigns, barking/meowing/whatever in fan calls), Jaeseop chivalry moment (didn’t think farther than that), and an extra terrible group Imagine Your Korea ad.
Tumblr media
OOPS ALL HAKSU CONFESSIONS
This is the title of “Great Things” in my docs. When I made the doc, I was going to write it as moments in a confessional booth. The problem with that is that he’s rationalizing all his actions in his head and he would not have confessed at the level of honesty I needed for the piece. So the other half of the piece was going to be entries in Mingeun’s diary because he’s the only one that works like that, and it would have been two perspectives on the same events. There were two problems with that. One, I wanted to die writing first person. Two, he didn’t know the extent of Haksu’s actions.
The last scene of this piece is also a couple of days before the Haksu segment of “Form is Emptiness.” One of the first iterations of this was actually from Andrew’s perspective. It was part of a different Haksu piece which was perspectives on Haksu.
Tumblr media
OTHER DOC TITLES (PUBLISHED)
the eunsu departure novella (but mingeun is also everywhere???) — “Form is Emptiness.” Mingeun is everywhere. I can’t explain it. I guess in this context it makes sense because they’re besties.
mingeun wooseok era (probably not he’s not even flopping) — The Shooting Stars drafts doc. You can find it HERE.
andrew han moment — The write-up of In Full Bloom, the YouTube documentary accompanying their second full album. This helped me realize he’s a main character more than I would like to admit.
andrew mingeun parallels (emotionally constipated man discovers talking about your feelings helps) — The working title of “Not Enough.” In hindsight this is funny because they don’t even work through anything here. They were supposed to. Also I spelled impostor correctly once and incorrectly once in the same sentence 👍.
Tumblr media
byeonghwi time!!! (how he became a trainee) — “First Love.” Exactly what it sounds like.
mingeun hwajung bi4bi — “Live Wire.” They don’t talk about it in the piece but they are both bisexual.
intak anniversary piece that is actually andrew's identity crisis in disguise — “Double A-Side” was originally going to be from Intak’s perspective because he thinks about a lot of things but doesn’t say a lot of things. I realized pretty early on that this had to be an Andrew piece and so that changed.
Tumblr media
OTHER DOC TITLES (UNPUBLISHED)
walk the line — The perspectives on Haksu piece. This was also going to do the same event from multiple perspectives thing. I got as far as three paragraphs into Mingeun’s 2019 Mass experience, which is canon and did happen.
jaeseop at the shareholders meeting! what will happen to him? — Jaeseop attending his first meeting as a Zenith Entertainment stakeholder <3. Since the Fable concept scandal happened, I have to mess with the timeline. This is a thousand words long but I’m going to revisit parts of it in another piece I think so I’m not posting any of those words.
fable! but i don't know where i'm going — A rewrite of one of the very early Fable pieces where Taein told Mingeun to lie about his identity but I never finished it. Actually kind of important now that I think about it. It’s how he ended up the way he was in “Not Enough.” He should know that it’s Taein’s fault. But he was young and angry and desperate and just moved across the world and it was a lot easier for him to take his anger out on Andrew rather than his boss. This was also going to be accompanied by the interlude in which Jaeseop fights for Mingeun’s life, which is what changes Taein’s mind. This is very much missing from just Mingeun’s perspective. Maybe I’ll finish this one. It’s got some great bits like

What was the main conflict for every Fable member in November 2021?

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the 2 wonderful Honest Lie and Pieces chapters that you drafted and posted! I look forward to them, like a gift treasure box that comes every so often. Wishing you all the best in your current endeavors!
I liked that Rosalie unexpectedly answered the question about Threnn in Chapter 10. I thought she would avoid it, and as a reader, I love being pleasantly shocked by your narrative choices.
I wondered whether:
Astarion said Finn on purpose and he actually knew
This isn't the first time that Rosie's exposed that she's a langauge savant - early on, it was a big deal that she was a sorta scribe in Ancient Infernal. I had considered earlier and thought it was an author's whim such that she could read Astarion's scars, but now that Rosalie's spoken Elvish to Astarion, it feels like a plot point.
Also, when I realised Ser Verity's name is Severity, I sort of crossed my eyes and was giggly - annoyed at myself for not picking it up sooner! Can't believe you managed to keep such a good joke under wraps and pull it out like that, right under my nose!
much love, nashi
hi nashi! sorry for taking a while to reply to this, i was away over the weekend following my thesis deadline :)
My replies are:
in every timeline in every universe, Astarion knows Threnn's actual name and is deliberately getting it wrong
D&D is a system where a person can learn an insane number of languages with the right background and feats. I, as a player, always try to learn as many languages as possible (currently playing a warlock with only Infernal, and it hurts my fucking soul). Rosalie was an agoraphobic wizard with no social life and nothing to do for nearly three years, and she sure as hell wasn't learning spells. I decided to combine these three things to make a character. She had four languages (common, infernal, ancient infernal, elvish) before the agoraphobia, then she picked up a fuck-tonne of new hobbies. I also tried to deliberately pick languages that relate to each other, (eg. deep speech having no written language so I argue they use elvish script) bc this reflects the realities of language acquisition in real life.
...I'm going to be so honest with you, I wasn't the one who realised Ser Verity was Severity. I have a friend, who's cat is called Sir Vinegar, and I wanted to honour my godson. I then tell my friend: "I named a cat after him lol". She turns round and says "oh, that's a cool pun for a wizard cat, like Severity!" Me: shocked pikachu face. and thus, her punny name was born. the secret to keeping a good joke under wraps is not realising you've made it ;)

Being Human Q&A 17th December 2022
Tumblr media
Everything I can remember from the Q&A, under the read more because it's pretty long!!
Unfortunately, due to Covid, Kate Bracken was unable to attend the event.
Toby Whithouse on being asked why he had selected Making History 4.07 as the episode to be shown: "It was the most ambitious series where we changed the genre slightly, having two timelines running alongside each other with one happening 25 years in the future. This was the episode where those timelines converged."
They then aired the episode before Toby was joined onstage by Jason Watkins and Damien Molony.
Question to Toby: “Where did it all start?"
Toby had been asked to write a TV series about 3 university friends buying a house together, which after struggling to come up with ideas, eventually evolved into a person with anger management issues, a person with agoraphobia, and a person with addiction issues sharing a house, with one of the characters being named George.
At the same time TW had also written a short film romcom about a werewolf named George. The two ideas merged together to give the characters a story and the connections were made between agoraphobia and being a ghost and addiction and being a vampire.
The very first draft of the script was written purely as a sitcom and the second draft of the script was written as if it was an independent American short film.
At first people could not understand that it was a combination of horror, comedy, and drama, but Toby Whithouse thought that this was much more representative of real life, where we are never confined to one genre.
TW also spoke about how the stories he connected with the most were the ones that took place in our world. He said that “The best escapism was into stories that could take place around us.” And that “I was writing for 14-year-old me.”
On the subject of Being Human spanning genres, Jason Watkins added that in reality, at their most horrific moments, people make jokes. He also said that there was “Something colloquial, speakable, domestic, and modern” About the Being Human script.
Q: Were there any references to favourite vampires when creating the show?
TW spoke a little about the mythology and the limitations they were under. “If you can have the vampires only appear at night that is a production nightmare, a scheduling nightmare.”
He also spoke about two new pieces of mythology added in series 4 and how one they thought was perfectly logical and that they would get away with, and another that they thought there was no way the fans would forgive them for and would accuse them of “making shit up.” However, when the series aired those two pieces of new mythology, toxic werewolf blood and Rent-A-Ghosting vampires were received completely the opposite way around and TW was shocked that people hated toxic werewolf blood as a concept so much.
Q: What was it like for Damien Molony joining the series and how did he prepare?
When he went for his audition, he had been acting in the play Tis a Pity She’s a Whore and was spending every night being covered in fake blood from head to toe “like in Carrie”. He said that when he travelled down to the audition, he’d been unable to clean off all of the fake blood and thought that might have helped him to get the part, that the casting agents probably went “wow that guy’s really method.”
After getting the role, Damien watched all the previous series of Being Human and was sent 10 DVDs of vampire films to watch as a crash course 5 days before filming started. He was also given a playlist of music that Hal would listen to and talked about OCD and dominoes.
Later in the QA, an audience member asked specifically how he prepared to show Hal’s OCD, to which Damien replied that he watched lots of documentaries on channel 4 on demand (as the service was called back then) and that he used to spell out the name of the old American actor Hal Holbrook on his fingers on set.
He also added that the domino spiral was set up on set 2 weeks in advance of filming and that everyone on set had to resist the temptation not to touch it and had to tip toe around so as not to accidentally knock it, causing hours of work to put it back.
Another anecdote from Damien Molony came after being reminded about how much beetroot juice he had to drink when they were filming Making History, with 10 litres of beetroot juice having effects that caused him to phone his doctor dad with some worried questions.
The Q&A moved back to Jason Watkins, airing a clip of Herrick in the isolation chamber with Mitchell, George, and Annie in Bad Moon Rising 1.06.  Jason was asked “How did you approach a character with such a black heart”
Jason spoke about Herrick’s complete enjoyment of all the things that he does, his psychopathic nature. “As a villain, he has a pure appetite for it. He ticks all those awful boxes.”
Toby Whithouse added that Herrick “has one mode, summed up by the line “You’re a shark, be a shark.” He never has a single moment of doubt.
Jason Watkins also talked of Herrick as a “paternal figure, he has these sort of sons.” And how he needed to have people like Mitchell in that position, because he needed to be in control, describing it as “having control over somebody and needing that control to know where you are in the world.”
This prompted Ruby, the interviewer to ask about the relationships between vampires and their makers, pointing out that we had just witnessed a twisted version of that relationship in 4.07 between Hal and Cutler.
Damien Molony described Hal as a “straight-jacketed, terrified loner being suddenly confronted with the victim turned master” in Cutler. There was much praise from the panel for Andrew Gower’s performance as Cutler.
Another question to Damien: “As we as fans often see good Hal and Bad Hal and separate people, like Angel in Buffy”, do you see them as different” Damien described good Hal as closed off, straight-jacketed (again), and very controlled. Whereas he said that bad Hal is at ease and open.
Back to Jason Watkins who was asked “Could Herrick be redeemed if he shared a house with Annie Sawyer?” Jason started to go into a longer explanation, but Toby Whithouse replied with a simple no.
Back to the question about relationships between vampires and their makers, Jason Watkins brought up the existence of a script for a scene that was never filmed about Herrick’s recruitment (this is still accessible via the old official Being Human Blog archives and there is a link on my blog).
Jason also recalled the time they were filming Herrick’s resurrection for the end of series 2. Which was not filmed in an empty snowy field, but in a park in the middle of Bristol with a group of elderly people from a local care home watching from the side-lines.
Lastly from Jason Watkins, replying to an audience question about what he took from the role of Herrick, he spoke about how “it was a bit of a break for him” (career wise) and how Herrick’s confidence “was him on a really good day,” and that by playing Herrick it increased his own confidence in his work and performance.
As both members of the cast on the panel had played vampires, the questions had been more focussed on them.
Speaking about the werewolves, Toby said “Werewolves become boring after they’ve transformed, they just become a thing. … It’s all about the tension, the lead up and the aftermath.” That’s the interesting part.
An audience member asked if Toby could discuss the ghosts, saying “they are the glue of the show, how did you come up with them?”
Toby responded that actually, the ghost episodes had always been the hardest ones to write and that he tended to lean more into the comedy aspect with them, because both Lenora and Kate were good at comedy. He said that he always paired their characters up with more experienced ghosts, because both Annie and Alex were new to that world. But he also said that he had to start to break his own rules and bring Annie out of the house as “Ding Dong, it’s a ghost” turning up at the door as a plotline would have gotten old very quickly.
He shared that he and Gilbert had the same musical taste, and that it meant he could “write jokes about people like Marc Almond that only he (toby) would find funny.”
And finally, one audience member asked, “Did you ever see things online and think I wish we would have done that?”
Toby Whithouse replied “the online community I absolutely loved. It added another layer of joy. During series 2 airing someone came up with the idea that Professor Jaggat was a werewolf and that was why she wasn’t there at during the (first) transformation, and I thought oh that’s a really good idea.” He went on to add “You can’t pay too much attention to audience feedback.” And spoke about writing what audiences need rather than what they might necessarily want to see. But that he would read the (official) blog because it was fun and so many lovely things were said.

Abigail’s Accent: Diane Kruger and the Art of Accidental Nuance
While I consider myself something of a connoisseur of National Treasure, my expertise does not extend behind the scenes. Other than the DVD special features, I’ve never dug into the production realities of the film. (Yet.)
So I don’t know for certain what led Disney to cast Diane Kruger in the role of Dr. Abigail Chase. I can speculate, though, that her casting was an attempt to draw European audiences to an obviously America-centric film (even more-so than your average Hollywood fare). Kruger is hugely famous in Europe, where she stars in English-, French-, and German-language films. Damn girl.
While the powers that be might have been trying to boost their European box office, I don’t think they were intending to add an entire thematic subplot to the film, especially not one so tailor-made to flesh out the story’s existing themes.
But they did.
Because Diane Kruger has a slight but noticeable accent, this scene had to be written into the film:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—Please don’t touch that!
I don’t know for certain that’s how this scene came about, but I’d be willing to bet on it.
My main evidence is that Abigail’s heritage doesn’t play any other significant role in the story. Unlike, for example, Indiana Jones falling for the hot blonde Ph.d. with a German accent in The Last Crusade, Abigail being born outside of the United States has 0% bearing on the plot. National Treasure never asks us (or Ben) to question Abigail’s loyalty or ability to complete the treasure hunt because of her background. And thank god, cuz that would have sucked.
Like, the Abigail wasn’t written as a German-American character. You don’t purposefully write the Conservator of the Declaration of Independence as someone born outside the U.S. and then just…not follow up on it. Not in Screenplay Land. That kind of creative alchemy that only happens when you go to cast the movie.
In any other role I doubt they would have felt the need to mention it, but yeah, the audience might be wondering why the woman in charge of the Declaration of Independence has a German accent. So the movie hangs a lampshade on it by pointing it out as soon as we meet her. Basically, by calling out something that might interfere with the audience’s willing suspension of disbelief, the narrative is able to say, Yes, we see it too. Let’s move on. In National Treasure, Abigail’s introduction signals to the audience that they don’t need to keep track of her background as a plot point for later.
And I am oh so glad this scene exists, because it gives us two things the film wouldn’t have had otherwise: banter and subtext.
First, it gives us a delightful bit of banter between the three main characters that the film wouldn’t have slowed down long enough to allow if it hadn’t needed to. Even if similar dialogue had been in the script, it would have been cut somewhere between the draft and the final film. It’s just not necessary.
The common screenwriting maxim “come late, leave early” recommends entering a scene at the last possible moment (while still getting all the drama and information), and leaving as soon as the best stuff is over. Doing this helps keep a story moving and discourages movies from getting bogged down in unneeded pleasantries. Every moment should be conveying something crucial to the audience.
And because we have to hang this lampshade on Diane Kruger’s accent, this banter becomes crucial information. Dollars to donuts, a pre-Kruger version of this scene would have jumped right into the problem at hand: Hi hot lady, nice GW buttons; will you let us see the Declaration? Instead, the characters get to breathe for a moment, and we see all of their personalities come out.
Ben is eternally curious, not just about history, but about Abigail as well. He has yet to realize that she is a kindred spirit or someone willing(ish) to help them save the Declaration, and yet he’s already fascinated by her. The fact that his first guess is Pennsylvania Dutch speaks to his love of American history, and the people who make it up, but I really love how his immediate interest in Abigail isn’t related to the Declaration at all. It’s not even really about history; it’s about her. This sets a foundation for their soon-to-be-budding romance that is rooted in more than the adventure they’re about to go on together. Ben doesn’t have to ask about her accent for the purposes of saving the Declaration; he simply wants to know.
Riley is immediately skeptical. He is the foil to Ben’s curiosity, reeling him back and asking the practical questions like, Are you sure you want to be doing this? or What about prison? Ben’s curiosity seemed to be sated when he got his answer. He only wanted to know what Abigail’s accent was; he doesn’t seem to wonder why she has one. It’s Riley, resident skeptic (and conspiracy theorist), who asks the followup question: [You’re in charge of the Declaration of Independence but] you’re not American?
Abigail is clear and decisive. She leans right into Ben’s curiosity both literally and figuratively: she leans toward him when she answers, and gives a response she’s certainly given hundreds of time as if it’s their fun little secret. At the same time, she isn’t afraid to shut Riley down. Where her response to Ben’s question is playful, her reply to Riley is firm and even a bit worn; this is certainly not the first time she’s been asked where she’s from. And as the scene continues she’s not afraid to snap at Ben for touching her things and tell them both off for wasting her time. However, that initial note of curiosity continues to shine through, even as the guys’ story gets wilder and wilder.
Second though, this scene introduces an element of thematic nuance that I just don’t see the movie asking in any other context.
The questions at the core of National Treasure are not especially deep. As a whole, the thematic questions the movie asks run along the lines of:
How far would you go to find the truth?
What would you risk to protect something precious?
What if you believed in something no one else did?
And of course let’s not forget National Treasure’s key ingredient:
Wouldn’t that be fucking cooooool?
These are perfectly serviceable themes to create an over-the-top action romp. After all, this four-quadrant Disney blockbuster isn’t really looking to challenge its audience.
Then we have this scene, which asks questions more like:
What does it mean to be an American?
Who do we consider American, and particularly “American enough” to be in charge of our founding documents?
And while I think it’s an absolute crime that we don’t get to learn any more about Abigail in the sequel, I do think not bringing up her backstory any more in this movie was the right choice. In doing so, the film provides an answer to its own question: Abigail is American. It doesn’t matter where she was born, how she came to be here, or which way she got her citizenship. Of course she’s a high-ranking conservator at the National Archives. Of course she’s in charge of the Declaration of Independence. Of course she’s willing to put her life on the line to save the it multiple times.
By casting Diane Kruger, but not dwelling on Abigail’s background, National Treasure accidentally makes a much more inclusive argument for what it means to be American than it probably had any intention of doing. Abigail was born outside the United States. She has a noticeable accent and English almost certainly wasn't her first language. And yet she's an American history dork who can go toe-to-toe with Ben Gates. She's literally in charge of the Declaration of Independence.
By whatever twists of fate, capitalism, and casting, the Dr. Abigail Chase we see in the film is a walking symbol of a certain kind of America—one that welcomes and accepts. One where anyone can become a lover of and expert in our history, and even a part of it. For as much as we love to talk about American's immigrant narrative, we don't often depict this particular aspect of it on screen, especially not in a role like this. Especially not in a film like this.
And while that is definitely not the only America—like, yikes, definitely not—it is the America that Ben Gates, and National Treasure, believe in.
So, there you go.
Abigail's casting adds a level of depth to the story, a small hint of subtext that the movie absolutely did not need to function, and yet it’s all the richer for it.
We absolutely can and should talk about nationalism, the uncomplicated veneration of America’s founding fathers, and how race is portrayed in the film at some point, but that is not this.

something something sequel and S2/S3 connection
(This is another mostly Ctrl-C Ctrl-V of my speculations from another place, because I don't have enough brains to rephrase it; and I want it to be here in case I make a post concerning my speculations about Archangel Michael and their role in S3)
We know S3 is based on the drafts of the unwritten sequel of the book!GO. We also know S2 is a "bridge" between S1 and S3, kinda tying in one knot the ending of S1 and the beginning of the sequel book. We can assume from Neil's recent post that most (if not all) important things that should have happened in the sequel, will happen in S3 and didn't happen in S2 yet.
So what can we assume based on this information?
The main difference between book ending and S1 ending is that in the end of S1 aziracrow don't work on their respective offices anymore. In the book it's might be not that clear, but with Adam promising they don't have anything to worry about, and with them trying to find out what their head offices actually think on Sunday and not hide from them, I suppose A&C still work for Hell and Heaven after the events of the book. There is also "Crowley & Aziraphale’s New Year’s Wishes" written by Terry&Neil in 00s in which aziracrow still work there while IPod exists (with book set up in 1990 it definitely happens after the Armageddon't).
I can't find a source right now, but I remember Neil directly saying (after S1) that archangels in the series were borrowed from sequel drafts. It's also worth noticing that in the book we never saw Heaven the way we saw it in S1, and also there were no angels in the book aside from Aziraphale and The Metatron (and Death, who called himself Azrael, but...well, I'm not sure it applies to TV series in any way).
We also know that the sequel dealt with a Second Coming and angels were acting like Jesus' bodygards (and lost him). We also know what Aziraphale was supposed to do in the sequel (watching some videos in the hotel), but I can't recall anything to be said about Crowley's occupation in a meantime...but maybe I just didn't search hard enough?
So, as I see it, the sequel should have been revolved around an Apocalypse initiated by Heaven this time (the way in the first book it was initiated by Hell). Crowley had a task to deliver an Antichrist in GO1, so in a sequel Aziraphale was ordered to do something concerning Jesus. I guess he even was supposed to be promoted (maybe not for the Supreme Archangel position, but still promoted) in a sequel too – because of his knowledge of Earth he could genuinely seen as the best candidate to be used in the “Second Coming” project in a book version. There were probably some insights into the Heaven politics – we saw some demons in the book 1 after all.
(It also made me make some assumptions about Archangel Michael role in S1/sequel/S2, as there are some interesting patterns, especially if we look into the cut scene of the bookshop opening in S1 script…but that’s a theory for another day. It also ties them with Muriel, however strange it might sound without a context)
The problem of implementing this into TV series is that, as I pointed above, TV!Aziracrow post-S1 are known traitors and outlaws (that actually would make a lot more sense if S1 existed without any continuation – there is a big headscratcher in a book for me called “Was Ligur revived and did anyone care about his murder post-Armageddon’t?”, which S1 covered). You need to set up a whole story so Aziraphale could just go back to Heaven and do whatever he needed to do there for the plot. Crowley, on the other hand…we’ll see in S3, but I suspect his role in the sequel didn’t require him actively work for Hell, especially if he needed to be on Earth most of the plot; and whatever interactions that he needed to have with Downstairs can be covered in the TV series by him interacting with Shax.
So the main point of S2 in this case was mostly to set up Aziraphale going back to Heaven. And maybe to get rid of Gabriel – I suppose he had a role in the sequel too, but if his main role in its drafts was to just be an annoying and stupid boss (as he was in S1 and wasn’t in a book, as he wasn’t present there), he couldn’t continue to just be one in the series, pretending that saying “Shut your stupid mouth and die” to Crowley!Aziraphale never happened. And getting rid of him was probably seen as a better/simpler solution than trying to come up with a story where he, with his story with Aziraphale, still had the same functions as his book-sequel version.
And yeah, other archangels don't like and/or trust Aziraphale too (okay, I'm hesitant about Saraquel, but they are a dark horse anyway). But they very visibly didn't like Aziraphale in S1 too, even before his...accomplishments. So that might be the point of their characters? Maybe in the sequel archangels simply didn't like their new equal/boss, and in S3 their dislike will just have more basis? Especially in Michael's case.
.....one thing that bothers me, actually, is how much the "S3 is based on the sequel, S2 not so much" might affect our theories about S3? Like, 25 Lazari miracle. If it wasn't in the sequel drafts (and tbh I'm not sure it could even happen there - what for book!A&C would do the joint miracle? If it even happened, it should have been something minor enough that it could be replaced by hiding Gabriel definitely-not-in-the-sequel subplot...), how much should we rely on it in our theories? Can we even make it a main point of our assumptions?
Although, the sequel drafts were just this - drafts, not a finished story. We don't know how detailed they were, and how many plot points weren't really finished back then. Like, idk, there might be "Aziraphale and Crowley get out of [some trouble] - we will think how they can do it later" note, and back then "later" never happened. But now "how" can be resolved with the use of 25 Lazari Chekhov Gun, and it would be legit for the TV series universe...

Disney's 'Wish' is Disappointing.
RJ Winter
[This review contains spoilers for Wish (2023)]
Before I watched Wish, I did something I don't normally do: I let myself read one of the (non-spoiler) reviews that was published before the movie released. I don't usually like to do that, because I feel it gives away too much of the story if I want to be surprised, but I was intrigued after talking with a friend about how the critic consensus was that it was mediocre and didn't push the boundaries of Disney.
All in all, those complaints didn't turn me off the movie. If anything, it made me look forward to it; those same reviews praised the soundtrack and the homages to Disney's history, and that's arguably the most important thing for a musical intended to celebrate the studio's centennial anniversary.
As a rule, Disney holds itself to a certain standard of quality. I thought that it would be fine, maybe a little bit boring.
Let me say this: Wish is not boring.
To follow up on that, though, it also isn't good. It's not even really mediocre. I hesitate to call it bad outright, if only because there's quite a bit of potential underneath, but I certainly can't give it the same praise I've seen others offer.
Let's start off with the things that this movie does well: the visuals are beautiful, calling back to the 2D animation that Disney was built on without directly returning to that style. Most of the character designs feel the same way. The standout song, This Wish, was the only thing from the soundtrack I let myself listen to before watching the movie (as it was the first song they released), and I'll probably continue listening to it on my own time because I do really like it. Perhaps most importantly, considering this movie's entire reason for existence, the subtle homages to Disney's history were a welcome addition and a nice touch. Also, the little star critter is adorable; as is its way of communicating, given that it can't talk.
And now that I've sufficiently praised the things I thought were good, let's address the parts where the movie falls flat: first, and most damningly, Wish is a musical comedy with jokes and songs that both tend to miss the mark. A number of the homages to Disney's history aren't the subtle ones I praised before, but instead a lot more overt in a way that's often distracting.
Its comedy is often in the same vein as something like Frozen, and while I'm in the camp that does still like that movie I have to admit that ten years on I'd like to see them try a different approach. I had hope that they would lean more into the old styles of storytelling, of something timeless, but Wish is unfortunately filled with jokes that rarely land and already feel somewhat dated. The best example of that is the goat, Valentino, whose design feels as out of place as his comedic timing.
Earlier I praised This Wish, the standout song, because it made it feel like a true return to form for Disney--feeling somewhat fresh but also calling back to the classics. However, it exemplifies some other problems with the movie: first, that the pacing in this film is outright bad. It feels like they had to squish a much longer story into their 95-minute runtime, or maybe like a handful of scripts got squished together and the final product either wasn't edited at all or went through one too many revisions.
And, similarly, the entire thing feels disjointed; none of these songs feel like they belong in the same story. A musical is only as good as its soundtrack, so let's go over each song and my personal gripes with it:
Welcome to Rosas, the opening number, is a passable opener for this movie. I actually like the first minute or so of it, before it devolves into heavy foreshadowing and jokes that don't seem to land, at least for me. It does feel the most tonally consistent overall with the rest of the movie, so there's that.
At All Costs, the duet between Asha and King Magnifico, is clearly a remnant from an older draft. The demo makes it an outright love song duet, and I've heard that an earlier version had the star be a boy and potentially had a romance between him and Asha in the script, so that's quite possibly where this came from. It feels strange and out of place, especially in the scene it's in, and the alterations to make it less overtly romantic do it a disservice. I do like the demo version, though.
This Wish is, as mentioned, the standout song; my issues with it are unrelated to the music. It's a song that belongs in a movie with more heart behind it than this one, and feels like another remnant from a different take on the storyline; the movie itself feels like it was rushing to get to this point and so the moment doesn't feel earned. Several things, such as Asha recalling her late father's lessons, would have more impact if we'd seen them more clearly beforehand. Most importantly, though, Asha hasn't gone through any real development or change at this point in the story--despite the song itself claiming that it should be a turning point for her.
I'm A Star has a lot of little bits that I like, but the focus on comedy that slowly slips in brings it down; the ending having the 'homage' to Disney's history that I found the most painful to watch. I think that with less comedic asides, I would like the overall song more. It's another one that feels like it was at least meant for this version of the movie, but I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.
This Is The Thanks I Get is just not a good villain song, which pains me to say as someone who absolutely adores the old ones. It lacks style and substance, and overall it feels like a first draft song that would benefit from some heavy rewrites; as is, it's not funny or menacing. Magnifico in general suffers from them seeming to take him from being an outright villain from the start to trying to give him a sympathetic origin but only ever committing to it halfway. A villain song about someone being corrupted by the darkness in their panic can work; but he snaps too quickly.
Knowing What I Know Now is another song that feels like a very disjointed first draft. There's potential underneath it, but it's buried in how everything is so rushed and seemingly haphazardly slapped together.
The reprise of This Wish feels even more unearned than the original song does; existing solely to serve this scene in the plot rather than for the sake of the story and the characters. I like the idea behind it, it has some of the same heart, but it feels strange and out of place in this version of the movie. It definitely doesn't hit the way it was intended to.
In the end, Wish feels like several movies, all of which have the potential to be good, but none of which were successfully realized; and that genuinely pains me to say, as someone who grew up loving Disney and its history.

3,4,5,10 and 15 for Kaleidoscope? (Also maybe extra question: Do the OG ina11 characters that didn't appear in go (ex: Jin, Shorinji) appear in this story?)
Thanks for being patient! I had trouble with choosing which narration and dialogue to take from this fic and there are not that many things that didn’t show spoilers for something in the story. Just a reminder also that this is from my rough drafts so expect grammar fails waaaahhh!
Kaleidoscope
(canon compliant from s1 to galaxy; a queer story; taking place 1 year after the events of inago)
Tumblr media
3: What's your favorite line of narration?
Context: Endou is not and will not be romantically involved with Gouenji in this story. He’s married to Natsumi like in canon and that’s not about to change or will ever be implied to be challenged. Both Natsumi and Endou are not straight nor monogamous too.
In this scene, it’s the dead of the night. Raimon Eleven (go) had an overnight camping in the school (like the og did in s1 before the match vs Zeus). Something came up and Gouenji was his last saving grace but he was angry to be called for something unserious when he thought there was an emergency (he’s wearing jacket over his sleeping clothes even as he rushed to get there). Endou then “weaponizes” his doe eyes on Gouenji. I love this because it’s so silly and doesn’t reveal much of the plot but does say a lot about their bond.
Raimon Eleven just saw their coach at his most pitiable and couldn’t react. All they knew was that if he ever used that on them, they’d fold immediately; that’s not a sight they could stand to watch. That being said, the legendary flame striker’s gait was not only unaffected but had also become more fierce than they remember; eyes glinted and jaw hardened. Anxiety rose from them as they watched Gouenji’s face hard and uncaring… until he breathed. Sighed. “Well, I’m already here, aren’t I?” He begrudgingly closed his eyes and slipped his hands inside his pockets. The frightened team collectively sighed in relief, Gouenji seemed to calm down. Just when they were about to lower their guard, a blinding light came from their coach’s face. “Gouenji, you really are heaven's gift to me!” Endou beamed at the unimpressed striker. He clung to his arm in full splendor and what the kids would only call a desperate act of placation.  “Thank you so much!!” Some sensed a tiny change in Gouenji’s expression. He impassively let himself get dragged by his best friend without making an effort to push him away. The audience looked at the scene for a while before making a move. “Well, there’s a sight.” Without vocally acknowledging Kurama’s observation, the players all soundlessly followed the two to the scene of the crime.
4: What's your favorite line of dialogue?
I’m giving you two of them because I cannot choose!!
1. Context: [This one is still a script] This scene takes place in the opening of the first Football Frontier since Holy Road was abolished and Gouenji is still the chairman of youth soccer. He went to where the Raimon Eleven was waiting for Haruna in the parking lot riding a motorbike with her at the back before going to the stadium’s VIP room.
Endou: Yo! Shouldn’t you be even earlier than us, Chairman? *teases* Gouenji: *opens his helmet; voice muffled; makes no move to turn off engine or get off* I’m considered early, you know. Otonashi: *just takes helmet off as she jumps off* I’m sorry! That was on me!! You went out of your way for me, Gouenji-san! Gouenji: *raises his brow* Like I said, I'm considered early still. He just wanted me to be late. Endou made a loud chuckle that some were convinced echoed in the whole parking lot. Gouenji: See? *extends one of his arm to take the helmet from Haruna and hangs it on the throttle* He's just counting on me being late for something all the time. - other dialogues that I can’t reveal yet - Gouenji: *looks at the signages* This is far away from the entrance I should be using. See you later, everyone. *looks around as if looking for where he should be going then turns the throttle* Endou: Make me dinner if you do get late!! Gouenji: Jinx me and you’ll never taste my cooking again! *drives away* Endou: *waves and laughs*
I keep on putting in all the parts with Endou because he's just such a guy!!
2. Context: My 13yo OC (named Yori) is in the process of being adopted by Kidou, now age 25 here. Kidou got angry at someone that I won’t be mentioning here and Yori witnessed that. They left the scene together…
“Whaaa!!” Yori barely stopped himself from colliding at Kidou’s back. The adult turned around, his head hanging solemnly with an indescribable expression. “I’m sorry, Yori. You didn’t need to see that.” His cracked voice pierced a knife on Yori’s chest. That was not something he knew the absolute commander of the field to be. He was always sure of himself, outspoken, snarky even; and his head would only lower for empathy. Yori tried to find the words to get him back to his usual self, “Oh… that’s…” “I should be better than showing such pettiness in your presence,” he said barely with a better tone than he did his last.  “Uh– you’re allowed to feel how you feel, Yuuto-san,” Yori stated with the confident tone Kidou usually had. “Besides, [Redacted] prefers that people tell him how they feel about him upfront. Like you did.” “I know, but this isn’t about him—” “—And I prefer knowing about how you really feel about things, too.” Kidou stared at him for a long while with his mouth slightly open, a foreign sight to the child who had only known him at his best. He then smiled; a small one but meant a lot to Yori. “You’re a great kid. But don’t push yourself too much.” He squeezed his shoulder, teeth on his mouth now showing. Yori could hear the gratitude in his revived voice. “The adults should be the one taking care of you.” Kidou looked at him more before motioning to continue walking. Yori smiled at Kidou’s back, guided by the memories they shared for the brief time they’ve known each other. ‘You already are…’
5: What part was hardest to write?
The story being OC-centric in general. It was difficult for me to find that balance on how much I should be showing the other characters and their side of things without coming off as if they’re stealing the OC’s show. Since my OC is a first year in middle school here who just enrolled in raimon and the other characters already went through their character arcs, it’s difficult to make a problem that they wouldn’t be able to solve for my OC. I found the solution to this by placing my OC in the 2nd team btw. Surprisingly easy solution but it also sounds like running away from the problem. But it went fine (I think) so far.
But concerning specific parts of the plot, all the emotional Kidou parts were devastating for me to write and I’m not talking about this one above. May the universe have mercy on this guy because my muse did not.
10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?
Hmm… I don’t really have a pairing for my OC since he’s aroace and not interested in one but there are a lot of ships here that people may be interested in. The ships for the recurring supporting characters that I chose here all mostly serve narrative purposes (not that anybody needs to for a ship, mind you), while the background ones are just what I like. These are the ones I can say for now: Kageno x Other OC, Endou x Natsumi, Max x Handa, Someoka x Fubuki, Sakuma x Fudou x Genda, Midori x Akane… aaaaaaaaand more!!
I was planning to watch all of areori first before going midway here since they have interesting characters that I may be able to add. I have a concrete outline of what’s about to happen though but I want to be sure about where I want the story to go first before actually publishing this.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
A lot about how the professional soccer players in Japan live their lives ig and what do they usually do or what is usually the issue with them that the public is concerned about. Also on what happens to those who don’t pursue a soccer career when they were considered a prodigy when young. I learned a lot about the political diaspora and read a lot about how bigotry is shown. Now that I’ve mentioned it, most of what I know about Japan that’s not in our textbooks here and not shown in their shows or anime is because of this fic wow.
I’ve also got myself interested in their period dramas, thanks director and producer Kageno.
Also maybe extra question: Do the OG ina11 characters that didn't appear in go (ex: Jin, Shorinji) appear in this story?
YES THEY DO!! Thank you for asking that OMG! Actually this story itself is set in Inazuma Town where my OC basically lives his life and he stumbles into the og Raimon Eleven a lot!!
First responder and firefighter Max (also part time delivery person) usually will be seen waiting for his fiance Handa who is the coach of KFC. Shourin has his own dojo around town that incorporates hissatsu techniques in their style (he won’t be seen a lot though because I can’t think of a plot-relevant thing for him to do 😔).
Kageno here is the director and producer of a show called Inazuma Eleven that’s literally just the entire first season of ie that tells THEIR story!! But with teen actors (surprise Actors AU!!! Everything that we’ve watched in the first season is everything that is part of this “based on a true story” series by Kageno but with a few episodes with contents I will add on a separate AO3 series).
My OC is the actor for Shishido so he also meets him on the set because Shishido likes crashing there! He gives Yori pointers on how to act him and overall adds good vibes to the cast in there! The other actors who are also in middle school are people my OC will also find as his opponents in the field because of course they know soccer!! I promise there’s a purpose as to why they have this series! Trust me!!
OMG thank you so much for sending this ask!! I enjoyed talking about this! Motivated me more to write about it!!
And yes, this is a very ambitious project. I’m not even sure if I can pull it off but I want to tell this story since it means a lot to me. Like personally. So, I’ll do my best!
Ask about my WIPs here
