watched the musical demon show (don't wanna name it so this post isn't in the tags) at the behest of an IRL friend and i can already tell this is going to be a piece of media where i absolutely cannot stop thinking about it, not because i really love the show as-is, but because it has so many individual components i really like and find incredibly fun or compelling, and i'm so frustrated that it doesn't come together for me
i think the main thing i can say about it as a show, setting aside some of the insensitive choices that were made that i really don't feel qualified to tackle or talk about, is that the entire thing sort of gives off this vibe of someone really excited to show you every single oc they made in high school and college and i very genuinely mean that in both the best and worst ways possible
there are some good hooks for season two though so i will absolutely give them that
#the vibe is just like... they are just soooo excited to get all their ideas out that it becomes... messy and badly paced#like there are so many moments that are cool or fun or emotional in a vaccuum but they don't connect fully y'know#because this arc or character was JUST introduced so there isn't proper build up. everything moves too quick#and it's frustrating because you can TELL that the people making this show love their ideas and characters#and i more than get thta! i am also someone with a lotta ocs i love to blab about#but i think they have been working with them so long that they#a. assume we are already just as attached to them as they are without always doing that work#b. assume we've seen all the supplemental material which. i have not#and i don't think that a professional show is the type of thing where there should be a barrier of entry that involves like#podcasts and comics and twitter threads and IC instagram posts about characters to do that emotional/lore legwork y'know#i love lore and supplemental stuff obviously but this should still be like#a satisfying experience for me a person who saw the pilot however many years ago and then has not interacted with the show or fandom since#idk man stuff felt rushed and messy and i wish i liked it more#it needed more slow moments i think. the two scenes where the group all drinks together (minus one awful joke in the bar scene) are like#the best in the show to me becase i actually believe these guys are FRIENDS. i wanna see them hang out more!#i wanna see them actually really grow to like each other organically!!! i wanna see them build connections and grow better slowly!!!#songs absolutely slap though. soundtrack is probably gonna be in my spotify unwrapped 2024#i love me a musical and that inspiration is on its sleeve which i love#also imo the humor isn't great usually. it's very juvenile imo and sometime that works but it often doesn't#(for me at least humor is obviously SUPER subjective)#also tonally they have this 'have your cake and eat it too' issue which bugs me. it's exemplified by the v's (one in particular)#actually i could go on a whole rant about the v's if anyone is interested because god i have some Thoughts#and i think my issues with the v's (namely one v) encapsulates many issues i have with the show#despite all this rambling i actually did enjoy a lot of my time with it. i just don't think it was well-written if that makes sense

More goo kid and worker drawings for the like… one other person who remembers them. If you wanna see my first post and drawings of them plus HCs (they’re better than these I swear), you can go through the goo kid tag on my blog. And also one shadow kid snuck in
@mjrdm
I guess I’ll sprinkle in a few more HCS
In the third picture I basically just drew my idea of why the goo kid looks like a burnt up hairball covered in tar. They were chased by a worker(s) into part of the factory that had large vats of that weird goo liquid. The worker ended up attacking them, tearing one of their overall straps, and with no other choice, they took the plunge and proceeded to get lost in the sauce. Quite literally.
The goo isnt something that they can just wash off, especially since they kept putting it back on as a way to blend in with the workers. It’s kind of a part of them now.
The goo ended up blinding them in one eye when they initially fell into the vat
I guess warning for more dark HCs, although I feel like they all align with the darker content in LN
The goo is made up of whatever the workers don’t use from the body of a child, oil, tar, melted plastic and other things that you probably don’t want to be smeared on your body. After a worker kills a kid, they essentially strip their body for parts like fabric, metal or plastic from buttons, teeth, etc. basically any sort of material they can use. Most fabrics and other materials that the workers can’t use are sent up in a dumbwaiter to the chained lady so that she can hopefully find a use for them. Most of the organic parts of the kid can’t be used, so they burn them in a furnace that’s very similar to the one in the maw. It likely has a hand in powering the factory as well. The ash is then processed with some other materials to create the goo. This goo plus some other bullshit or something is how workers are made.
Something something pink sauce McDonald’s
If you actually look at the factory/stone giant as a whole, a lot of it doesn’t actually make sense or should work logically. There are a lot of machines that just shit out their products into god knows where and a lot of them are just needlessly complicated
The reason why goo kid adjusted so well to life in the factory is that they were taken to the nowhere at a relatively young age. The incident with the vat happened shortly after they arrived. They basically grew up among the workers, and while they aren’t really friendly towards them, they aren’t outright aggressive unless they mess with the machines. They probably see them as a defective worker or something.
All workers have mouths, but not all of them have permanently exposed teeth
Workers are VERY fast and able to react quickly, especially to light, but they do still sometimes get limbs torn off by the machine. All workers are ambidextrous, as in they do not have a dominant hand and can use both with an equal amount of skill, so they usually just use their other hand, but since they sometimes use two tools at once, they might use their mouth to carry it or tie it to whatever is left of their arm. The goo can stick to it, but they will usually tear off part of their overalls (most commonly the leg parts/cuffs which is why a lot of workers have torn short overalls) until it grows back.
Goo kid got most of their food from the upper levels of the stone giant- just eating whatever was thrown down into the trash
Workers do eat- but not for sustenance. They use their stomachs as just a place to store stuff. it’s mainly because not all of them have tool belts or pockets, so they might swallow down some nuts (don’t) or bolts or other small objects so they can regurgitate them while working.
Most workers start out decked in the same or very similar clothing (overalls, tool belt, hammer, wrench, etc) but they like to steal from each other, plus it’s a factory setting, and it’s very common for them to get their clothes ripped. Workers do occasionally get new clothing, and while they are somewhat of a hive mind, they do vary in personality, especially when away from others. Some workers also differ visually. They can have all different lengths of hair, unless it’s ridiculously long and gets stuck, which usually isn’t a problem though as the goo mats their hair. Different overalls are usually because the person who makes them, (chained lady or the really weird doll with the sewing machine) sometimes use different materials or different styles
Workers are highly flammable, but do not react if set on fire unless the fire is damaging a machine. Unlike shadow kids who are very scared of fire, workers really just don’t care. It doesn’t hurt them like light does.
Workers are a bit larger than most LN children, it’s just that goo kid is small because he’s younger/just short which might give the appearance in the images of them being a lot bigger
Goo kid wears worker’s overalls but they’re sinched since they’re quite short
Workers can climb on all fours on sheer drops while facing downwards since their feet can twist the other way, similar to a few kinds of cats who can also do this

Notes I've taken from Dazai, Chuuya, Age Fifteen
On the cover, it looks liked dazai and chuuya are both balancing on strands of Rimbaud's hair??
In the third full color illustration, chuuya's eyes look brown
Chuuya's hair is described as reddish brown
Dazai saying that he was gonna join a quit the PM and join rival organization. The next paragraph points out that he isn't even a member of the PM lmao
Also, "do you have any idea how much you've put me through this past year?" Like what? I sooooo wanna know abt dazai age 14
Mori and dazai are "bound by a common destiny"
"Dazai showed flashes of brilliance one moment, but the next moment, they were gone. As soon as he seemed to have it all figured out, he'd confuse everyone by talking about his bizarre, meaningless fascination with suicide." Excellent characterization note
Mori can disarm a bomb
"'Why do you want to die?' / Dazai seemed puzzled as he looked back at Mori, like he genuinely didn't understand the question. Then, eyes full of youthful innocence, he responded: / 'Let me ask you something instead: Do you truly believe there's value in living?'
Dazai involving Hirotsu (who he just met) in his self convo by telling him not to use a painful method next time hirotsu plans on killing himself. Hirotsu saying he'll... keep that in mind.
Goodness I need more hirotsu and dazai moments
The fact that Chuuya's kick sends Dazai so far, despite the fact that Chuuya's gravity would disable upon impact, kinda proves my theory that Dazai's ability would not stop the momentum caused by Chuuya's ability in motion. This is later confirmed in another sentence
Chuuya calling dazai kid even though he's the same age
Chuuya and dazais first moment meeting having chuuya laughing :)
Dazai watches his hand being crushed quite easily, despite not liking pain. That's interesting. However, when kicked next, he does react
Hirotsu going 'back in my day I was just like you' lmao
Chuuya calls dazai: a twig, mummy boy, kid, bandages, slimeball
Dazai calls Chuuya: pip-squeak, a fairy, a schoolboy
Chuuya is described as having never lost a fight in his life while talking to Mori. That's interesting cuz he was just captured by the enemy
There's the love confession!
"'If only I'd been in the middle of that [explosion], I would've had a quick and painless death...' / 'Yeah, yeah. I'll beat you to a pulp as many times as you want later, so focus on the mission right now, okay?'"
Dazai acting like a blubbering scared child when caught by the enemy
Chuuya telling dazai to put on hard rock for a fight
Also seems like chuuya's ability no longer affects an object as soon as contact is cut.
"Even Dazai had forgotten to breathe as he watched the storm that was Chuuya decimate the battlefield."
When dazais talking to the dying man: "Dazai's expression was calm, but there was a faint twinkle deep within his eyes. The kind of twinkle a boy who wants to grow up to be a firefighter gets in his eyes when he sees his hero in the flesh."
Actually, the entire paragraph set of Dazai's break is really fascinating
Dazai brings wood for Randou's fire. Also, either he or Chuuya or both cover a draft hole for him.
Mori forbade them from violence to solve their problems, so of course the first fair thing to come to their heads is arcade games
They played close to a hundred matches. Fun date!
Dazai trying to give chuuya head pats
Chuuya is an excellent actor
At the party prep, dazai is playing playing modern pop music
According to chuuya, arahabaki doesn't have a mind or a personality
"The shield protested" dazai is the best shield lol
The boss saying he wishes he could chat abt old times with dazai. What old times? Dazai shouldn't have known him before his death? Unless he did
The mere thought of killing a child breaks rimbauds heart, with the child being dazai, but he's okay with killing chuuya? Rimbaud only sees chuuya as an ability to gain, it seems to me.
Skk calling each other by their first names for the first time (outside of around other people) when working together in a fight against rimbaud
"'Hmph...anything goes when you're a skill user from Europe, huh?'"
Dazai asking abt rimbauds final wishes
Q is put into dazais hands to figure out their ability. Q asks to play, and dazai says when q is older. I am now waiting for this playdate in canon
Also, dazai and mori both not knowing q's gender
Dazai is a cheater at games
The chuuya newsletters

So yeah, yesterday I decided to FINALLY watched The Meg bc everyone kept saying it was a silly fun shark movie... AND THEY WERE RIGHT. It was AWESOME.
I went in expecting practically nothing, and it blew me away. The story premise is ridiculous and it totally feels like the director, actors and crew 100% knew that and embraced it! The movie never takes itself too seriously, it practically tells you to just kick back and enjoy it for what it is, which is exactly what makes it so much fun. It's an exciting comedy horror about a giant prehistoric shark in present day Earth, the CGI is dubious but the cinematography makes up for it with some great, well composed shots. For example, when Suyin is in the trench and is being attacked by a giant squid? That in itself is pretty cool imagery, but then you see the Megalodon swimming over her sub with the squid in its mouth in the gloom, illuminated from below?? WOW????
Then the characters are like, surprisingly deep? They have interesting backstories that inform us on who they are and while Jonas is the only one who gets some screen time for his Big Trauma, we later learn that Lori might have blown up a whaler ship for an environment organization and that's how she learned to pilot? And that Suyin had a tough relationship with her dad but they love each other so much that with his dying breath he tells her how proud he is, that she already surpassed him as a scientist and he hopes Meying will grow up to be just like her? And we get all of that with some very organic, short dialog or like 3-4 minute scenes, which is rare these days. Legit good writing where it is most needed, all the more sober scenes are well-acted and so immersive, the characters are so likable I ended up rooting for all of them to survive (except that billionaire whose name I didn't bother to learn, everyone else I remember except him, FUCK that guy). Even the side characters, though flat, were interesting because the actors gave them so much personality!
And, WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S A WHOLESOME CISHET SHIP WITH JASON STATHAM WITH VERY LITTLE SEXUAL TENSION BUT A LOT OF ROMANTIC TENSION?? WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT??? Seriously, I was shipping Jonas and Suyin so hard, their interactions were adorable. How he goes from being the typical Tough Manly Man Who Is Super Competent And Punches All The Bad Guys While Wearing The Same Tough Guy Face All Movie to genuinely caring for the whole Mana One crew and respecting Suyin as an accomplished female scientist in her own right who knows what she's doing and is also brave and headstrong herself... Much 'aww'ing' was done.
Not to make this too long a rant, I love talking about movies I enjoyed, sorry, but a few other small things I liked about it: that Lori and Jonas remained good friends who care and support each other, and want the other's happiness even being divorced, we need more of that! And Dr. Heller apologizing to Jonas and meaning it for saying he was crazy and basically ruining his life (plus Jonas forgiving him in the end), definitely wanna see more of that! Jonas' friendship with Meying, THAT WAS SO CUTE, I COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEM!! The gags were all genuinely funny, I was laughing through most of the movie, and the jump scares got me more than a couple of times (though that might be a fault on my part, I'm a big wussy and I am not afraid to admit it). The action is so. DUMB. But it's the kind that it's so dumb it's good, y'know?
Final note, I gotta say, let Jason actually act more because he's really good and directors keep hiring him to play a stoic emotionless hero when he can do so much more? He has impeccable comedic timing, his line delivery no matter how bonkers, always lands, he's REALLY CHARMING and y'all are wasting his potential imo. Given, I haven't really watched many of his movies after the Transporter franchise, but for example, I loved him in The Italian Job and a couple of weeks ago I started watching Homefront and I was enjoying it because he gets to play a widower with a young daughter in a new town, and now I definitely need to finish it bc I'm a sucker for father/daughter dynamics.
Anyway, yeah, if you like sharks, B-movies or just something fun to watch that will make you laugh, go watch The Meg. It's good enough to convince me to go watch the sequel next August. Can't wait!

I'm so sorry this is going to be SO long.
Uhm welcome to the LightningStorm Club!!!
So like, their dynamic is super special to me especially since it just makes sense?
And no it's not just your typical enemies to lovers, but also two characters being able to understand one another and comfort eachother because of that.
Storm is much like rookie Lightning in which he didn't want to work with anyone, didn't trust anyone, and was a one man show. And I'm super sad Cars 3 didn't have Lightning realize the similarities between their personalities.
I feel like Lightning could definitely teach Storm a thing or two. Their personalities are SUPER similar. In which they were both extremely ageist and only cared about winning. That was their goal.
Another thing that bothers me is when people blame Storm for crashing Lightning. Lightning had a mid life crisis, and pushed himself too hard. Something I don't see people talking about.
I actually feel like Storm blames himself for the crash and that could also go super heavy into their relationship.
I don't think Storm hates McQueen. And I don't think McQueen hates Storm. He just hasn't realized how similar they are. They could understand each other so well, so so well. If someone just told McQueen that he should give Storm a chance, like they gave him a chance, they'd probably be super close.
I feel like Storm secretly looks up to McQueen and is slightly intimidated by him. He wants to impress him. And I feel like the stuff he said to McQueen was out of panic, we know from his story that he's just not good with people and interacting with them.
When it comes to enemies to lovers, the beautiful thing about it is the story you can tell. You can explain how they warm up to each other, what they learn about each other, who falls first, how close they get to be as friends, and then the eventual confession
Again, I don't think they hate each other, they just need to understand each other, bond on the fact that friendships can be difficult and trusting people is hard, but its something that can be done.
Both of them aren't good with friendships and trust and that's heavily shown in their books and the movies/shows. I think their relationship would be rocky, but they'd still enjoy each other's company.
As for general head canons.
I feel like McQueen loves board games and Storm loves video games, so they can bond over that and show each other their versions of entertainment.
I feel like they could bond over nerdy things like dinosaurs and aliens and zombies.
They teach each other how to be patient, which is something they both need to learn.
I feel like Storm would fall first, and confess to McQueen in the stupidest way possible.
Lightning plans most of the dates because I feel like he's more experienced and romantic and into romance then Storm.
Storm loves to show his appreciation by cooking and helping clean and organize.
Their eating habits are different, but they try to come to a compromise.
I'll write more but this is SO long already 😭!!! (I have head canons on my page!! If you wanna snoop through go ahead :))
This ship means SO much to me, there's so so many possibilities with them, you just really have to try to dig into who they are as people and how it could help them grow together!!
I GET IT NOW 🤯🤯🤯🤯 /genuine
and your headcanons are so cute, im obsessed!!!!

hello tumblr i'm going to ramble about an OC now
my brain is being Shitty and Mean and A Bit Rude to me today, so i'm gonna make myself feel better by talking about some worldbuilding and lore stuff surrounding one of my favorite d&d OCs: Froyin!
Tumblr media
featuring this beautiful art made by the wonderful @majixium
froyin is a kobold i made for a friend's campaign and she's very near and dear to my heart if only because i think she is very sweet and cute and sometimes that's the vibe ya wanna project yourself onto y'know?
in the world froyin hails from, there are a multitude of different kobold clans, each with their own societal norms and such. hers is the Clan of The Endscale: a group of kobolds who took up refuge long ago under the watchful eyes and wings of an ancient black dragon.
as time went on, the dragon became more and more hostile towards them, viewing them as leeches more than worshipers. this led the dragon to begin acting much more antagonistically towards the clan, and eventually outright fighting the clan as a whole.
through a stroke of what was probably pure luck, the clan managed to triumph over the dragon, and now bares its legacy in their name: Endscale. the clan that took down a dragon on its own.
their modern day society is somewhat matriarchal, extremely organized, and very strongly tied to tradition. i made a little flowchart showing the hierarchy of the clan actually, here it is:
Tumblr media
so anyways, the way things work is basically like... until you reach maturity, you're not really expected to do anything besides learn from others in the clan about whatever. you aren't locked into a Sib or anything just because that's where your family might be.
once a kobold reaches maturity, their right horn is shaved down in a mix of celebration and as a way to tell where their position is in the clan. once you have your horn shaved, you're expected to start seriously considering where you truly want to be in the clan in regards to Sibs or other roles.
after a while, and after a kobold has trained and learned enough to earn a title and place in the clan, whether that's something as simple as being a Gatherer or as high ranking as being a Scribe, that's when they get their other horn shaved down.
the shaving of the second horn is celebrated even more than that of the first. it gets brought down to match wherever the first had grown back out to, so they can grow out together normally from there, but that's not the important part. the important part is that once that happens, it solidifies that kobold's place in the clan for pretty much the rest of their lifespan.
with this in mind, it's extremely rare to see older kobolds that have asymmetrical horns unless they had some intense battle wound or something. it's less uncommon for younger 'bolds though, since they're still sorta finding their place.
anyways, back to Froyin. Froyin is still a very young kobold overall, having only had her first horn shaved down maybe a couple months prior to the start of the campaign she's from. it's fairly common for kobolds to venture outside the clan's territory while in this phase of their life, but Froyin's story is a little different.
Froyin had been a natural spellcaster from a very young age. wow no way a sorcerer who's a natural spellcaster, who's ever seen that before? she planned on going into the role of a guard since she knew she'd be able to use her magic more openly there, as well as help protect the clan with it.
while she was out shadowing a guard patrol one day however, she stumbled upon something strange. a discarded black dragon's scale, seemingly ripe with a strange magical energy she'd not experienced before. pocketing it and bringing it back with her, she didn't really mention it for the rest of the patrol.
when she was back in the village though, the guards took her through the routine patrol process of reporting findings and such to the higher ups. this was when she mentioned the scale. it was no secret that she was a spellcaster, so when she mentioned that she could tell it had magical energy of some kind, it was submitted for review by a more practiced spellcaster.
eventually, this made its way all the way up to the priestess of the clan, which is where things went south real fast. the priestess called a public meeting of the clan, wherein she publicly announced that Froyin had "knowingly" brought the will of the ancient black dragon back to them.
Froyin, just as confused as everybody else, had no fucking idea what was going on. unlike everybody else though, she wasn't frightened by this announcement since she didn't really see the scale as evil. it wasn't controlling her or anything, this isn't some One Ring situation.
one thing led to another, and she was effectively exiled from the clan entirely and forced to take the scale with her. she was instructed not have her second horn shaved down as a mark of shame for what calamity she'd nearly brought about, and off she went.
her parents protested, given she was so young she must not have understood what was going on, but the decision was final. she was given anything her family could give her on the way out, including her staff, and just like that she was alone.
Froyin ended up wandering for a long time, using what little scavenging skills she had to keep herself fed, but eventually found a small village to take shelter in. she attempted to offer simple services to earn coin, like being a farmhand or cleaning people's clothes for them, but ran into a pretty big roadblock:
Froyin did not speak Common.
her clan was somewhat isolationist, and spoke in their native tongue above anything else. she was never taught any other language. thankfully, perhaps due to her age and attitude, the people of the village were kind enough to understand she needed help.
slowly but surely, over the course of a month or two, she began learning very basic common while helping around the village with various odd-jobs. by the time the actual campaign starts, she'd have a fairly strong understanding of most common, though she still couldn't speak it perfectly.
something she has yet to understand however is just how right the village was about that dragon's scale. that's something she'll get to learn about much much later in the story.
i'm not really sure what else to say besides i love Froyin so much, she is a precious little creature who deserves nothing but good. :)
WAIT NO I DIDN'T GET TO TALK ABOUT THE MAGIC SHE USES okay okay okay so here's the thing-
Froyin is able to tap into a very special type of magic called Negentropy. if chaos and evil and entropy and all that were put into a single type of magic, this would be its polar opposite. it is the Right to the universes Wrong, the Up to its Down.
negentropy can be used to heal the sick, to mend the broken, to bring life to the withered, to spring plants, shine armor, all sorts of different stuff that would be categorized under "good :)" for lack of a better term
she doesn't have some crazy godlike capability or anything like that, but this magic is incredibly versatile and incredibly important because it's like the one single thing that can combat an ancient evil magic successfully.
that magic is something that thankfully has been mostly eradicated from the world, but with that in mind, so was Negentropy 👀 if one of those is back in somebody's hands, then...
all the lore behind where those magics came from, and the things tied to THAT are for a whole different post that i wouldn't even be the one to write. that'd be up to @uprising-trolls to handle ;3c

log o7
• surprisingly knowing stuff for microbio that i didnt need to be lectured much and was kinda left to do my own business/finished early enough i can grab lunch
• being able to talk further to my friend about a writing project that i have on the backburner presently because i got a bad writers block about it but now i think i have an idea of where i wanna go
• getting a really stupid idea for a scene for said project and even getting a chance to write it
• being able to take a shuttle out of town (even if its just for classes. i miss driving around sm lmao)
• saw daffodils again :) also very pretty on sunny days like today. actually lots of them bc theyre planted all over the place here which is so nice!
• got to go home earlier than expected from the teaching :)
• GOT TO SEE A BUNCH OF BUGS.... I actually lowkey really love microbio tbh and I think it's cool (and terrifying. I had a huge fear of Everything when I first started learning about it), but getting to see each of the organisms face to face feels like being a little starstruck (which is kinda lame tbh but honestly it was so neat.), especially the parasites because they were a lot bigger than I would imagine them being!
• ngl walking around in the cold rain was nice. i mean it was really cold but it kinda felt freeing in a way. its nice
• i mean technically it didnt happen today but the little realization made me sorta happy. a lot of the times with friends i always worry about being really boring and tbh, from my perspective, i feel that i am. i dont really talk much and tend to be too anxious to do so. i dont speak my mind because i get way too nervous about how the other would accept it. that and sorta being told that i am boring/predictable a lot growing up made it hard to not think of myself any other way. (its kinda weird though bc i get told both ends of the spectrum where im either told im too boring OR im being too annoying so idk. cant win either way tbh). idk. its silly thinking about like two instances as of late that like i did something that was very predictable of me and still friends being fond of that bc thats just very 'me'. maybe its a silly thing to fixate on, but ig its kinda nice knowing that i dont have to try so hard to stand out/be different or whatever else. naturally, whatever i wind up doing, there'll be people who like me as i am, and i think thats a nice thing to hold onto
i forgot to add one more bc this was mostly written while i was on the shuttle back home and cooking dinner but it was also nice talking to my friend about some theories about hsr :] idk it got me excited to do so even though i dont have everything put together in my head alskdfjh

SE CHARACTER INQUIRIESSS
from yesterday :D im putting them all together, hope y'all dont mind if i tag peeps who asked
for @vacantgodling
JACK JA (ppl pronounce ‘JA’ as ‘JAW’ for some reason so it stuck)
Antumbra assassin and cleaner who was one of the many contract children that was paid to the organization (totally not slavery btw) by his parents to settle a debt. He isn’t unique by all means Antumbra wise, but he is recognized as one of its most efficient assassins
At the age of 12 he was hired by the Slaughter family to be the bodyguard of Vincent. At the time being two mutant closeted trans children was extremely rough, so the two confided in each other. Vince more or less taught him how to be an actual person and not just a killing machine
OTHER FACTS THATRE NOT HISTORY- he is a romantic at heart and treats Vincent all lady like when they go on those weird totally-not-dates
babysat Francis a few times in the past and honestly. Wouldve probably been a good influence on Frank if Francis didn’t have that weird nigh-obsessive attachment to Vince at the time :/
Loves candy and is a connoisseur of baked goods
Main weapons of choice are a pair of kukri knives
His mutation is purely physical, it simply gives him a reptilian appearance and some physiology (cant handle cold weather, somewhat amphibious, venomous, etc). He has a tail but he keeps cutting it off everytime it grows back because he doesn’t wanna go through the process of modifying his pants for it
TUGARIN
Basically an old work friend of Carmine when they both worked for the Soviet Union. While Carmine was blackmailed into working for them Tugarin at the time was a fully fledged Russian patriot who believed in Soviet supremacy
The economic and socio-political chaos in the aftermath of 1953 (that coincided with the Martian titanomachy) kinda fueled this, and the US becoming extremely isolationist while increasing superpowered espionage didn’t help either. His increasingly erratic behavior, suspected to be a result from his uncontrolled psychic powers, got him blacklisted by the Soviet government.
At some point after Carmine escaped to the US, Tugarin tried to undergo a similar surgery but the Soviets instead took his brain, which is still considered the 2nd most powerful on Earth. They used his brain to operate the country’s nuclear defense system; after 1962 he was ‘shut down’ due to instability and the uh..fact that HE is the one who launched nukes at the US lol
He’s still operating as the defense system but his subconscious is effectively sealed away…FOR NOW HUEHUEHUEHUE
for @muddshadow
AGENT HAMMOND
AAAAAAA
The first android to exist, EVER. he was activated in November 1905- he shares a birthday with Desmond!!!
Very stoic and seemingly emotionless but thats not really the case; he lacks empathy but is very much capable of sympathy.
He and Lupe ‘met’ in 1923 when she was assigned as his new operator. He’s been attached ever since, theyre BFF5EVAR
He raised and trained Agent Friday, Francis’s former adoptive parent. Is somewhat unaware of their reference of him but still kinda sees them as a surrogate kid of sorts. Would still kill Friday if he has to
Trans but in a robot way. He was built to be feminine and such but he eventually asked Lupe for a new body, which is his current one! He gave his old body away to someone else :)
TECHNICALLY has kids???? In the ‘AI can self replicate/make copies of themselves’ way?????????? Hobbes is by all means a lesser Hammond but Ham just doesn’t see it that way (nor does he like thinking abt it)
Is very much anti-alien in a pragmatic sort of thought process- he was programmed to protect humanity and the biggest threat to humanity right now is…Mars. And Martians just kinda running around eating and killing whoever they want irritates the fuck out of him so he kills them when he can. He’s one of the most OP characters in the story
^will still kill humans if his hand is forced.
ORION
Francis’s cousin!!! And a King Martian who is currently hurtling through space at like 40,000kph. He’s not having fun rn
Definition of spoiled and entitled, benefiting his nature as a King.
When he’s introduced he crashlands in rural Japan without a body so he’s forced to parasitize a middle school bully, which is how he befriends a human girl named Rei (bully’s former victim). He hates having a human body tho cuz he doesn’t like the nosebleeds and headaches he gets from using his space powers (also weak flesh suit). He gets a new body eventually tho
He’s here on earth for…some reason!!! He hit his head pretty damn hard on the way here but he knows he’s gotta warn somebody!!! About…something. Maybe
He’s also on Earth to escape an arranged marriage how embarrassing
THE VEIL
Technically by all means the THIRD Veil- the first one was in 1930, the second was in the 1970s, and both former Veils are retired. "The Veil” is basically the corporate/government poster child for American superheroes. He’s on all kinds of propaganda posters
Have you ever heard of Shaun King. yeah, basically him (monetizing social justice for personal gain)
On the surface, he's affable, modest, and sincere; an American treasure. Personally he’s disturbed, incredibly brutal and aggressive, using his charisma to sway the DUSA’s perception of government-hired mutants- who’re deserving of rights and freedom, unlike those unlicensed, criminal mutant types
Basic superhero powers, very much akin to superman’s super strength, speed, and flight
and finally for @zindagi-toh-bewafa-hai
CARMINE
Former Volkssturm paramilitary, aka *proto-Nazi. He spent much of his early life fighting communists up until the outbreak of superpowers in 1934, where he underwent self combustion during a firefight and went MIA
He resurfaced in Siberia a couple years later working for the USSR for reasons unknown, and this is when he underwent surgery to be fused with a nanite network. He’s effectively immortal because of this which is why even though in present day he’s 88, he looks to be somewhere around 50 years old
He’s Carson’s  grandpa even though his ‘son in law’ Carnegie disagrees since Carson by all means is a clone.
He used to know Lupe!! Back when she was dating USSR superhero Veronika lol
*he uh. Isn’t as racist and prejudiced as he used to be, but still somewhat right-wing when it comes to politics and social issues. He would’ve voted for George Bush in 2000 but would hate Trump is what i’m saying. He still says racist/homophobic shit from time to time but by the time he reconnects with his (very much half-asian) granddaughter he’s…trying. Or at least trying to try lol
AZELFAFAGE
Francis’s dad and ultra powerful alien space sorcerer king >:D Has thousands of kids but Frank and Oz are the most important *shoves all the other kids away*
Was the one who spearheaded the plan with his brothers to kill his dad Aldebaran, and…actually got Lupe to assist him in the titanomachy?? HMMM WHAT HAPPENED THERE
Hates humanity by proxy; his dad basically nuked most of Martian history and culture becuz of his reverence of Earth so Azel’s pride is kinda hurt cuz of it…”WHATS SO GOOD ABT HUMANS?? WE ARE FAR SUPERIOR!!”
While he comes off as just…’stupid’/absentminded and just sex-hungry he’s actually highly intelligent and charismatic. Like if he WANTED to, he’d get rid of humans entirely but he hasn’t- he recognizes his people’s needs and is absolutely willing to subjugate humanity for his planet. Dont assume he’s empathetic tho; he’s still extremely power hungry and self centered.
HATES WOMEN BUT ALSO DOESN’T??? Expresses himself femininely but actively oppresses the female martian population as a form of population control which is hilarious to me. He’s above gender but also Isn’t
Once he meets Francis and realizes that she’s Oz’s twin, Azel immediately deems her the favorite child LMAO. he’s still transphobic as shit towards her tho and refers to her as his ‘son’, which she hates
DIVORCED
Drama queen and will faint at the slightest inconvenience and will throw tantrums
LUPE
*ahem ahem* THE MOST POWERFUL PSYCHIC IN THE WORLD AND TWICE SAVIOR OF HUMANITY, DR LUPE ALTENA!!!!
Has always been into computers and robots, so getting to work on an early Hammond was a dream come true for her. She’s the one who streamlined his coding/android model and mass produced them, and so she’s considered the ‘mother’ of all robots and androids
Before her ADP infection she was considered super goofy and passionate, very much a gremlin
Due to the infection + parasitic eye she’s functionally immortal and sort of trapped in her own mind/body. She LOOKS 48 but in present day she’s 97 years old- the infection has progressed to the point of dementia and due to PSYCHIC BRAIN SHENANIGANS she is no longer ‘LUPE’. So theres the empty shell of Lupe and theres the astral projection Lupe who’s still very much sane and Present but not really. Astral Lupe is busy time traveling rn and shell Lupe disappeared 15 years before the start of the story so go ahead and play the Twilight Zone theme song
Lupe has ALWAYS been aware of/involved with Dez’s existence, and ever since he was born she made him the heir to, well, everything (the city of Necropolis itself and all android technology). Too bad he’s absolutely unaware of this and his relation to her lol. Cringe fail aunt activity
HONEST TO GOD doesn’t wanna kill all the martians but her increasing neurological issues had Hammond take things into his own hands so while HE says she came up with the Grand Plan its honestly a case of unreliable narration; they were the only two in the room when this conversation happened so WHO KNOOOWWS
ULYSSES
Not much to say about her? She’s the current leader of Antumbra and by association is one of the greatest assassins in the world. However its a hokage type situation where she just does a lot of paperwork and deskwork
Always sleepy. She’s so fucking sleepy ong she can sleep anywhere anytime
Martin’s mom but is largely absent in the physical affection/parenting department. She still loves him tho!!
Tries her best to stay a neutral party as a major figurehead of the League by staying out of shit but honestly it could be argued that this makes the politics of the League more complicated

Hello! What was your favorite part of Mech Cadets (Netflix)? I enjoyed it so much, I had changed tumblr icon to Buddy and rewatched it twice!
My favorite part of it was the evolving and dynamic relationship of Olivia and Captain Park, Frank standing up for his friends, Maya being relaxed and a teenager around her friends especially Frank, and Dolly Yu keeps on helping Stanford to become a Mech Cadet but still for him since he is still her child! Everyone is supporting and caring about each other and it causes problems, but they never doubted their loves for the people they care for!
Also who are your favorite characters? I saw too much of myself in Stanford doing a Power Ranger pose, Olivia and her father because of their role in the story, and Tanaka cause his designs looks so cool and good for him to punch Aiden Park absolutely deserved that punch
And finally, anything else you want to talk about Mech Cadets?
AHH HI!!!
Presently my favorite part was the scene in episode 4 where Frank gets to fight that baby sharg with his crutches. Holy shit that was so cool!!!!!! And honestly yeah I have to agree with you on their growing dynamic also!! It’s so heartwarming to actually see them, y’know, getting along. Most functional mech pilot team I’ve ever fucking seen. I actually thought i’d really dislike the growing romantic tension between maya and frank, but it’s actually really sweet? Romantic stuff usually isn’t my thing but it’s so nice to see them actually getting along together! I’m also really surprised how much I grew to like Olivia. I just wanna give her a big hug, man. D:
Would you count buddy as a character? I would. I fucking love buddy. I really really wish we got more time with just the robos themselves since it’s shown that they have their own thoughts and feelings outside of what their pilots reflect on them! Aaurgh, I would give anything to have a goofy filler episode focusing on the robo’s instead of the main cast for a moment. I would give anything. Im so serious. Anyway, if you’re only counting human characters, then Frank actually! He’s just such a sweetheart and is always trying to lift everyone else up, and I especially felt that when Stanford was first introduced to the team, since Maya was still a bit abrasive toward him and I’m 90% sure Olivia wanted to actually rip his thoat out lmfao. Tanaka should’ve punched aiden park again btw.
I actually have a lot of thoughts on the robo’s themselves and the fact that they’re their own weird organic alien life. As soon as it was revealed that they’re actually thinking, conscious beings who choose their own pilots I went nuts. That has so many implications! I know it’s not canon but one of my Own thoughts is that they’d have to have actual flesh and bones under there, and the metallic exterior just serves as an exoskeleton. Maybe it serves as a more natural element for them to grow, much like bugs to chitin and us to keratin? It’s so fascinating. I fucking love the robos.
I’m a bit of a weirdo when it comes to fictional biology, sorry. It’s just….so cool…..!!! What is up with these things!! I love them!!

lol okay, hi.
i know ive been memeing about it tonight but i have some actual serious thoughts & feelings about Pulp Musicals rn so I'm going to ramble!
⚠️ This will contain spoilers for the first episode, The Great Moon Hoax !
Okay so one of my favorite, favorite songs in this episode is "John's Choice." (I will be listening to it on loop while I make this post.)
I love the whole song but I absolutely adore the part when Herschel is telling the crowd that the story is true. He adopts the phrasing that is familiar and easily recognizable after the "Great Astronomical Discoveries," we've heard, but now we hear it from his perspective, and my god it doesn't seem like it would do much but the shift in pronouns (he to I, his to my, etc) is SO impactful! (Especially when you're listening for the first time and you're expecting him to reveal the hoax like he'd said he was going to!) It gave me major chills the first time I heard it, and I still get chills every time. Every time.
Another bit that makes me go insane is when we get the line "I pointed it at the moon, our companion," and then the chorus/ensemble chimes in with "Always there, watching us, from Eden to Edinburgh. As we grow..." and then Herschel picks it up again with "As she glows," and he keeps going. But here it's the ensemble that gets me.
In "Great Astronomical Discoveries, Pt. 1" it's just Samuel and Rose singing those lines. Now, we're hearing the crowd singing them, and I think that's really cool and interesting. To me, it really reflects how it's a story that's grown and been passed around a lot, that people have been talking about it and telling each other. The crowd chiming in is like when someone interrupts to finish a story they already know by heart, or when people start singing along to a beloved song that's being played by a stranger in the street.
The crowd that's gathered at The Sun already know this story, and they start singing with Herschel because they already know all the words. It's not just his story—it has become theirs, too. And that just does something in my brain. Like.. it shows how much this story about the moon means to everyone, how important it is. (As Margaret says: "So many people have nothing to believe in...") They're so happy that Herschel is saying it's all real that they can't help but tell the story with him. And the way they whoop and cheer when he says it's true? That's beautiful.
...aaaaand also pretty tragic and heartbreaking if you think about the fact that we all know it really IS a hoax, haha oops, but we'll just not think about that right now, okay? okay. 😅
Of course, I can't ramble about my favorite things in this song without a huge shoutout to Curt Mega for his amazing singing. He puts so much feeling into this song in his roles as Benjamin and John. As Benjamin, we get to hear his vindication, frustration, and impatience, as well as his anger when his plan backfires. As John, singing about his made-up telescope, we can hear so much passion. Herschel's really trying to sell the story now, and I'd say he does a damn good job of it. (Sorry Benjamin!)
Basically, this song really lets Curt show off, and I am so grateful for that because my ears and my brain have been blessed. Thank you Matt, thank you Curt. 🙏🖤
now that I'm done rambling for the time being, I am currently in the middle of an art project that I'm hoping to finish tonight, so I'm gonna try and get back to that. If anybody else wants to add their thoughts, I welcome it!!! please, come experience brainrot with me!!!! :D
someday I'd love to make more posts like this (but hopefully better and more organized) so we'll see if that actually happens lol. I love this show so much. I wanna talk/write about it. 😍

@devintrinidad ssdjksdsk i actually wasn’t expecting anyone to read my random thoughts abt that but the amount of joy and serotonin i just received from u taking interest in it tysm :>
anyways they use the same pronouns as i do since he’s my sona (so he/they) and before i get into the logistics of my drawing i have to talk a little more about the octotrios’ countdown art bc i left a few bits of information out of the original post (since i wasn’t prepared for anyone to be so invested sdjskdjsk)
Jade and Azul particularly have a lot of other similarities, more so than Floyd and Azul, which makes sense considering the two of them are more similar to each other. like Azul and Jade both facing left with a hand on their hat and both of them smirking. the bubbles also surround them more as i think i mentioned before rather than coming out of their mouth like Floyd’s does. (although it may be interesting to not that jade lets the bubbles entirely surround him while Azul only lets them stay in front or to the side of him. is this important? possibly lmao but that’s not what i’m here to talk about so,)
my sona’s countdown art was sorta made to mirror both Azul and Floyd particularly. mirror Azul’s in the way the tweels are both facing back and in opposite directions w their heads tilted different ways, and mirror Floyd’s in the way Azul and Jade’s do. I did a few things to sorta mimic them so lemme try to list them rq (excluding the bubbles bc i’ll get to those later)
• azul faces down, mine has his head raised
• azul faces left, I face right
• both azul and I’s most notable clothing article is the grey colored thing but thats less bc of me trying to mirror moreso a coincidence
• floyd faces right, i face right
• floyd shows his teeth, i show my teeth
• floyd has his hands down and i have my hands down
• floyd and i both have our heads tilted up
• (and an extra not exactly pose related detail but general character design thing) both floyd and I wear our dorm uniforms more.. messily. haphazardly, you could say
it’s supposed to compliment and mirror aztweels’ cd arts like a missing puzzle piece, essentially, which fits the dynamic i’ve created for them in my head as well. like in the way Jade and Azul are most similar to each other, Lost and Floyd share more traits with each other than they do with the aforementioned two which i don’t wanna mention bc i’ve already been rambling so much and we haven’t even got to what you asked yet ah-
NOW! onto the actual bubbles lmao. notice that i’ve yet to mention jade yet in similarities i’ve chosen to reference/mirror so far. that’s because i referenced his art in the bubbles. the way our bubbles are placed is most similar (ie in the sort of three cluster pattern that surrounds the figure) except mine are with the addition of having the bubbles also come from my mouth in the same way floyd’s do for the aforementioned reasons.
beyond that onto the bubbles themself, i don’t have much to say when it comes to the shape of them besides the fact that i wanted them to be that way lol. somewhat anti climactic, but it’s probably worth noting that they’re organized in a way that makes it look like smaller, thinner, bubbles are gathering to form bigger ones rather than Jade and Azul’s who’s bubbles look more like bigger ones breaking apart. and my bubbles always tend to grow smaller as they rise (save for the corner one because I did that first so it looks most similar as i looked at the reference for it the most + it’s in the corner so we can’t see the top) i can’t really say more for what that means about me personally, it probably says smth lol if you look into it enough but yeah that’s abt it!
conclusion: my twst sona was created to compliment the existing dynamic more than anything else and steals a lot of inspiration from the above three because they grew up in close proximity together and have the habit of picking up on certain inflections and poses (in general, not necessarily seen here)
i’m sorry this was so long!! i got carried away, but i hope this satisfies your curiosity and if you’re interested in more i always love talking more about my sona’s and oc’s and would love new friends <33

Otty i just want you to know i always delight in seeing you pop up in my notifs and that you remain a dear tesblr friend to me ;u;
Anyway if you've got the thoughts i wanna hear about your priest of mara with a gun or Neloth and Meallana hehe
AHH I always get so happy when you say that, I’m glad I make a good impact! <3 it’s always an absolute joy seeing your art and writing on the dash, even though I’m not as active as I used to be
And I am so glad u asked about my son Anaro I haven’t talked about him in SO long. I’ve been working out some ideas of what I want his backstory to be and I’d love to talk about it. Obviously in his like REAL story he doesn’t have a machine gun but like in his own little separate stand alone spin-off universe, he is absolutely unstoppable with his AR-15
So basically Anaro was pretty much born an orphan. Nobody has the faintest clue who he parents were, he was basically left on the steps of a Temple of Mara in Cyrodiil as a newborn, cold and as silent as the night time that engulfed the temple grounds. It’s well known that priests of Mara will often take in Orphaned children to be raised in their practices. Though Anaro’s delivery to the temple wasn’t the typical drop-off, he was welcomed in with open arms anyway. After all, who would be able to resist a chubby yellow baby with ears twice the size of his head?
The first thing the head priest noticed about Anaro was that he was quite the silent baby. Many of the priestesses and wet-nurses would grow anxious overnight when he wouldn’t wake and cry, or throw tantrums upon waking in the morning. He also grew to be a very well behaved child. He was never the most organized with his belongings, or punctual when it came to temple meetings, but he always did as he asked and never really acted out. The worst he would really do was wander off during the day to sketch by the lake-side, or carve pictures into tree bark. He was always an outdoorsy kid, and often got scolded for sleeping outside while it rained and tracking mud through the temple the next day.
As he approached his teen years and started his formal apprenticeship, he grew to be very interested in history and politics. He’d spend hours a day in the city libraries and catacombs, stuffing his big yellow brain with knowledge. He was never one for debates — hated them actually, but he still liked to sneak out of the temple and eavesdrop on the city scholars in from outside the college windows.
His passion for sociology and the like only increased as he grew older. He loved philosophy, and literature, and poetry. He loved hearing people speak to each other, and speak about themselves. He loved listening to the long, drawn out stories that most people would find too boring to tell all the way through. He was perfectly content sitting in the town square and just watching families interact with each other, never once staring with envy, but with curiosity and admiration. He always knew he wanted that one day, though he was shy and generally seen by others as a little strange. Though he was always a man of few words, he knew when to use his voice as it was needed. He was reckless in the way he would stick up for those in need or in the face of cruelty, and it got him hurt. Quite a few times. Not everyone in Cyrodiil is so hesitant to lay a hand on a future priest.
In his adulthood, after fully gaining the official title of Priest of Mara, he found himself itching for more. Of course, he loved the temple and he loving serving the people in his town. He loved officiating wedding and watching people fall in love all over again, and was perfectly happy pledging the eternity of his spirit to his divine. However, he couldn’t help but feel like it wasn’t enough. He wanted more. He wanted to travel, and see all corners of Tamriel, and meet all the souls her land had to offer. He wanted to really help people, not just by having them repeat vows after him, but by spreading true love, and peace, and kindness. He never thought of himself as particularly influential, nor did he ever crave to achieve fame in his teachings. He knew his desire for a world at total ease and peace was beyond unrealistic, but he was more than willing to do his part to take steps towards that dream. Under his gentle nature, he is a stubborn and relentless soul. He will stop at nothing to stand for what he believes in. Would he go on hunger strike for months? Yes, absolutely. Many call him foolish for his passion but he’d rather be a fool than a bystander.
So, he left. He set out on the first carriage ride to the farthest city in Cryodiil from where he was at before, and started to make his rounds throughout the country. He’d help out wherever he could. Farm work, mining, healing, simply teaching children on the countryside to read — nothing was off limits to him, no matter how difficult the task.
He started dabbling in restoration magic when visiting a Temple of Kynareth in the Summerset Isle. He decided not to stay too long though, given their whole racial supremacist thing they had going on.
He may be Altmer himself, but he was not raised with any connection to his culture. Sure, the temple he grew up in had a few high elves among them, but their lives were dedicated to Mara. No effort was really made to teach him about his roots, so he often has a difficult time connecting with other Altmer, especially the ones from his homeland.
He didn’t manage to make his way to Skyrim for quite a few decades. (For reference, I envision him to be somewhere around.. 150 years old by the events of the Dragonborn storyline. So like around in his “40’s” in physical terms.) When he does get around to Skyrim, he probably only gets a good 6 months into his travels before dragons decide to show up. How lovely. He settles himself down in the Temple of Mara and winds up meeting the Dragonborn when he stumbles in piss drunk trying to marry a hagraven. Now Anaro is all about having the freedom to love who you choose, but he really can’t just sit by and let this dangerously intoxicated nord marry ANYONE in his condition. It’s not technically illegal, but he has morals. So he shoos away the hagraven and the strange sorcerer carrying some sort of plant shaped staff, and lays the strange nord to rest. This is how he officially became ‘uncool’ in the eyes of the daedric party god. Way to go Anaro.
And once the Dragonborn wakes up, that is where Anaros epic dragon slaying era begins. I would describe how he meets Erandur but I haven’t played that quest in so long I don’t even want to attempt it right now.
As for Meallana and Neloth. They don’t have children, and probably never will. BUT IF THEY DID, the baby would be grown from the side of wall of Tel Mithryn via magic and a lot of freaky deaky questionable alchemy. Yes. Their baby would be a spore baby and his birth would be horrific as he bursts through the wall of Tel Mithryn like a rabies infested rat. He would have a badass wizard name but disappoint both of his parents by being obsessed with archeology or something stupid like that instead of the archaic esoteric arcane knowledge of the universe
“Meallana our son is digging in the dirt again”
“Shut up you old fart he said he’s looking for dinosaur bones”
“what the fuck is a dinosaur”
Their baby’s conscience would project across realities. Talvas would pay him with animal bones and shiny rocks to pull Neloth’s goatee because he just really gets a kick out of it

Since I post about 13 era DW I thought I’d do the dw positivity drive post with a short (for me) detailing about what I love. (I could go into each of these with far more detail but I’ll spare you in this post. Lol)
The 13th Doctor - Terribly deals with trauma just like us humans, and is so relatable with that, but has just a deep love of humans and her companions that she will often put her trauma aside to give her companions incredible experiences and adventures. Her ability to find joy in tiny things despite that trauma. She is a joy on screen. I wanna be mates.
Yaz - her story arc, it wasn’t rushed it was done in real time and it made her growth believable. She wasn’t changed just by meeting the Doctor or a couple adventures. You watch her grow up into a confident capable woman in a realistic time frame. I was so proud of Yaz in Power of the Doctor, and that pride was so earned by the character because of the pacing of her arc. And Yaz is just a delight on screen.
Dan - look I don’t know if Dan really had a character arc but I really just enjoyed Dans personality injected into the story. He was such a great counter to the Doctor and Yaz. By Flux, Yaz isn’t really as relatable as the viewers eye into the world of the Doctor because this is all old news to her so injecting Dan with his questions and humour (and wok) was so relatable. And his way to read both of them when they were trying not to be read, isn’t what you would typically expect from a character like Dan but was beautifully executed. To me he was definitely more Yaz’s companion than the Doctors and I actually love that because they were great together. I wish there was more Dan, but sadly there no more episodes.
Graham and Ryan - I love that their story was about building family, that going on adventure with the Doc was really a vehicle for them to find their relationship with each other. Plus they were both quite funny.
The Master/O/one time companion, lol. I love that he wasn’t redeemable and self loathing. Sometimes the bad guys aren’t redeemable, and as the Doctors best enemy but a new incarnation I’m glad he was different to missy. There’s no saving this version of the master.
13 era villains… I love them all, wish there was more time with all of them. Would love to see a version of Ashad again if there was a way to bring him back. It is Doctor Who anything is possible.
Costume and Creature Design in 13 era Doctor who… OMG! - I love the Doctors outfit, but also the Master, Ashad, the Sea Devils, Swarm, Azure just to name a few absolute gems oh and pretty much all the period costumes with Yaz’s Flux period costume just being peak period attire in Who.
The TARDIS - what a completely unique interior design. It was hauntingly beautiful, and felt so organic, and coupled with the sonic screwdriver it felt like the perfect pair for the 13th doctor.
The look and feel of the series - it’s visually stunning and when it’s on a BBC budget it’s incredible how stunning they were able to make it.
The music - the music for me always felt on point, it never distracted but always heighten the moment when it was called to. I loved when the theme kicked in when 13 entered on the train.
The episodes - I’m always smiling watching the episodes… except when regeneration starts. Than my heartbreaks. But there wasn’t an episode I didn’t enjoy. All to different extents and I definitely have my favourites but they are all worth a rewatch. Each series is so different, but because of that I find it hard to pick a favourite.
Flux - What an incredible feat pulled off during COVID… do people no longer remember how chaotic and crazy COVID was? Because I don’t see this getting enough credit. I’m so thankful Chibs made it happen.
13 era workplace - I love that from everything we’ve seen and heard from everyone who worked on Doctor Who they seemed to have had the best time working there with Chibs and Jodie making it a positive workplace.
13 era cast and crew - you just can’t doubt their passion and love for Doctor Who whether they were life long fans of new fans they put all their love, passion and commitment into making the show. And it shows.
And of course Thasmin. Both the Thasmin friendship and the Thasmin romance. I think they are a beautiful tragedy. My heart is so happy they found each other and so heartbroken they didn’t figure themselves out in time. Yaz’s love for the Doctor throughout the show, through basically just her looks at the Doctor is so subtle but strong, and so beautifully played.

pt. 3, pink and spinel
so, let me go off a bit to tell you about what spinel's backstory would be (also a bit of pink's backstory)
these go in no particular order.
as always, please don't take my ideas <3
originally, pink was given the earth as a colony before she got a pearl. this is because she did something bad on an exoplanet: she tried to conserve some of its organic life bc she was intrigued. the diamonds punished her by getting her original pearl and ordering people to shatter her (because pink confided in her and loved her like a sister), but she, with the help of inside people who hated how the diamonds controlled, escaped. pink diamond's original pearl now is hiding in the outskirts of homeworld. pink, however, thinks they shattered her, which spawns a deep, deep hatred of the diamonds.
she doesn't get a new pearl until like a couple hundred years later, and during this time, to give pink something to do that doesn't intervene with their plans, the diamonds give pink spinel. they both don't really wanna be there, so this starts off an actual friendship. spinel existed before pink, and she was mostly used as a jester, which she grew tired of. pink confides all of her issues with spinel, who helps out somewhat by being optimistic, like how pink used to be before being punished by the diamonds, and being realistic as well, and talking about plans to overthrow the diamonds, plans that pink knew would probably never be useful (they will) but still appreciates. spinel begins to follow pink around like a pearl, but is never caught by the diamonds, so she gets inside information and tells pink, as well as the stuff she can't hear. overall, they both stay bubbly and optimistic, but brave, like steven (kinda).
spiel is ecstatic when pink finally gets a colony, and urges her to sneak out of the garden to go see it. a few days later (before she was given pearl) they both sneak out out, just for a day, to see what earth is like. pink sees earth life is completely dependent on organic life, using stuff not on homeworld and made of organic material, and treating each other equally. she tries to approach the humans, but they treat her weirdly because, well, she's giant and is pink. they eventually warm up to her and teach them both stuff on earth, like hunting, plants, agriculture, animals, status, riches, and stuff like that. this is around the middle ages, so about 500 or so years ago. pink grows to hate homeworld life more and more.
pink was not given a new pearl until right after she was given a colony. she was given orders to eradicate human life and to start to grow gem life on the earth. pearl was kind of supposed to oppress the idea of maintaining organic life, but she obviously didn't.
when she receives pearl, she remembers being treated equally on earth and remembers the awful treatment other pearls got from the diamonds, so she sets her free and decides to show her home on earth. she asks if pearl wants to live here, and pearl says yes.
the diamonds caught her sneaking out of the palace??? i think that's what it is?? anyway, they caught her and put her under the watch of some higher-ups, but she poofs them ("sorry!") and overhears them talking about destroying the garden, along with spinel. petrified, she rushes to the garden to give spinel some warning, and she succeeds to tell her somewhat with a jumble of words with spinel comprehends.
pink grabs her arm and attempts to drag her onto the warp pad to escape, but white diamond appears all mother gospel and drags pink onto the warp pad. white, enraged, sets off something to like destroy the garden (or so she thinks!!!!!!!!!!!1) and throws spinel away from pink, and spinel lunges to grab onto pink because she's afraid to be shattered by whatever white threw that would destroy the garden.
the last thing pink sees is spinel's face, contorted with rage and fear as she tries to grab onto pink, but white poofs her dismissively, and her gem lands somewhere white can't see.
spinel's gem lands on the one place the blow-up thingie hasn't destroyed (it's a kid's show, give me a break) and she regenerates like a week later in rebel clothes because she wants to kill the diamonds or something like that. she realizes, "oh god, the garden is almost completely destroyed, i'm laying down on like the one place the blow-up thingie has not destroyed." in this realization, she realizes she will probably never see pink again because the warp pad seems unusable. she wanders around the small space that wasn't destroyed, the grass scorched and the warp pad cracked. she spends her time yearning to avenge the diamonds growing more and more frustrated, as well as reliving the moments she had with pink, reliving her laugh, smile, and their plans, especially her plans, for the next 500 years.
(LET ME JUST POINT OUT NOW, M A J O R TIME SHIFTS IN WHAT I AM RAMBLING ABOUT)

But you wanna know who else is different?
Xerxes.
Yea, you'd expect the damn leader of the district to be a representative of what it's all about. And on the surface he is, he really is. It's not something glaringly weird like with Pexton, it's something that sorta runs deep and can only be noticed if you're particularly close to him. It has to do with his emotions.
People of the Wrath district don't fight because they wanna hurt others. They fight because they like it! The aim isn't discomfort - although many disputes are solved via combat. But it's a very different thing to fight someone because you truly hate them, than to settle your differences in a way that's easy for both to process, in a clear cut way. In fact people who aim to needlessly torture others in casual combat are seen as horrible. People here are more likely to avoid engaging with their disliked individuals at all, than to pick fights. Why would they? It's not fun nor pleasant for either of them. It's equivalent to an insult to actively refuse to fight somebody, due to how much you dislike them.
Xerxes too, like Pexton, engages in battle just like everyone else, and he, unlike Pexton, does forge relationships like that.
But few notice the discomfort. The genuine hatred, pain and stress that Xerxes endures from his enemies - most notably of course his nemesis Ngah. The mindset of not separating love from hate, or outright merging them to mean the same thing, is not universal in the Wrath district. It's in Xerxes.
He enjoys fighting of course, and Ngah means alot to him, despite the fact that she's aiming to hurt - to kill. Ngah views him more as a brute idiot who doesn't know how to stop, and while admittedly she enjoys fighting when it's going her way, that's about it. When she gets to hurt him.
Of course, her view of him has changed since being imprisoned and having Xerxes be the only person regularly coming to see her. They've talked alot and got to know each other in a way Ngah understands as well. She now does hold respect for him.
But that doesn't change the core of it for Xerxes. He's been tortured, insulted, humiliated and robbed of at least two organs. He hates Ngah. She means more to him than anyone - save for his baby Athena now, who will always come first. Speak of that, actually..
It'll feel weird to raise a kid for sure. I'm not saying Xerxes would end up being an abusive dad (His mentor figure was gross and tho he doesn't acknowledge that he was abused himself, he does acknowledge things that you Cannot Do To Kids). And he does love and care for Athena, no doubt about it. But I'm saying he'll probably feel.. Weird. About the whole thing. He didn't have any prominent parental figures as a calf (he was raised communally), and only later had a mentor figure (whom he didn't feel too comfortable with). How should he approach this situation?
I'm just worrying for the scenario when Athena, in some teenage angst, potentially blows up at him and tells him she hates him, ykno the edgy stuff teens tell their parents in fights. How would that feel? I doubt Xerxes would wanna have that kind of dynamic to his daughter. He'd be very conflicted. But most likely take it as just, "My little girl's become so strong.... They grow up so fast..."
Ykno, take it as a cue that she wants to start separating from her parent(s), and becoming more independent I guess.
We'll have to see when we get there. Xerxes has things to learn

5.
what is the one thing you remember most about January of last year?
I wasn’t doing particularly great in January last year mentally, so not much really stands out. Maybe just that I went to my first live basketball game around that time because I felt I desperately needed a change of pace.
you look at the clock and it’s 11:11, do you wish?
Sometimes lol, but it’s more common to do that here at 22:22 or 00:00.
how do you think you will look 3 years from now?
Three years from now I’ll be almost 30 so I’d rather not think about that time lol. Buuut I doubt all that much will change. Maybe a new hair colour by that time?
once you graduate (if you haven’t already) are you leaving your hometown?
I did leave my hometown, though I frequently go back to visit my family and etc. But yes, not planning to go back to live there.
what is your dream job?
Writer/translator, which is what I’m doing anyway. But I think my genuine dream job is becoming a fiction writer, and I’m not quite there yet. I am happy that I’m in my dream field though.
what would be number one on your bucket list?
Hmm, probably visiting Japan just one time in my life.
how old do you think you’ll be when you make your will?
No clue, tbh. I’ve never actually given that much thought.
you get a text message. who do you hope it is?
I guess depends on who I feel like talking to at a given moment? Just not my editors, please :)))
are there any songs that you hear that just make you wanna dance?
I like dancing, so yes, plenty. I’m not good at it tho, but it’s fun.
do you get any of your songs from limewire?
No, and idk if I was too young for that or if it just wasn’t a thing here, but I only later found out it’s a universal millennial experience lol.
what’s the oddest thing you are wearing right now?
Not wearing anything particularly odd.
you and your best friend get in a fight. why do you think that is?
Most likely because I suck at communication sometimes, and the things I say may come out too blunt or not the way I want them to. I’ve been working on that, but being tactful is a skill that doesn’t come entirely naturally.
do you use the word “basically” a lot?
Probably, yeah.
do you use proper grammar or use IM talk?
Depends on the context; I try to use proper grammar as much as possible but I think abbreviations and internet slang is pretty fun too.
what is your biggest annoyance at the time?
Hmm, my friends and I are planning a trip together, but organizing everything is a nightmare because we’re all very indecisive. That in itself is something I can deal with, but the fact that no one ever properly communicates in the group chat is driving me crazy.
you see the person you fell hardest for. what do you do?
Nothing much, I’ve last interacted with that person for real 10 years ago, and I have no particular feelings for them. I’d say hi because we still know each other, maybe make small talk if we were in such a setting where that’s necessary, and that’s it.
have/are you depressed?
No, but I experience ups and downs like everyone.
did you grow up in the united states?
Nope
are you dreading tomorrow?
Not really, but I do have to do a presentation for my German class and I despise presentations.
do you call anybody ‘baby’?
Nah.
if your school had a winter formal on new years, would you go?
Never had those
where is the fanciest place you have ever visited?
I actually have no idea, not much of a person for fancy places
who is the one person you can completely be yourself around?
Maybe my sister? But to be honest, I don’t think there’s anyone I can be 100% myself around.
are your pop-ups blocked on your computer?
Yes
do you wear earrings on a normal basis?
Yes, I have the ones I’ve worn since I was very young; those are my lucky earrings and I never go anywhere without them.
how old were you when you realized that life goes on?
I can’t really think of a specific age or event
are your parent’s night owls or morning birds?
Definitely morning birds.
do you like to sing?
Yes, but I’m not good at that either lol
are there some songs that you will never understand the lyrics to?
Probably.
do you own a lot of picture frames?
Nope.
who is your favorite author?
Kafka and lately Sayaka Murata.
how many pillows are on your bed?
Just one
how is your hair right now?
In a ponytail because it needs a wash soon.
is your phone fully charged?
Nope, like half charged.
what’s your favorite thing about the holidays?
Food, meeting up family and some relatives I haven’t seen in a while, the general holiday spirit.
are you still in school?
Nope
how many days/months until your next birthday?
A little less than 4 months, omg
what is your favorite type of cake?
Anything with chocolate.
how many rings do you wear on a day-to-day basis?
None.
when will you next laugh until you cry?
Idk but just yesterday I was laughing so much reading some comments with my sister that I not only nearly cried, but nearly died of suffocation. I was in genuine pain lol
