I’m interested as to why all of your docs are .hemmingway (but seriously though ot3 wip plsss)
oooooooh SO hemingway is an app i bought years ago. there is a free version online but i dont recommend it bc since then they've gotten new ai features and i dont want yalls work being eaten by an AI bot :( the desktop app does not have ai features so i should be good~
ANYWAY the appeal of hemingway sans AI is that it highlights different issues in different colors, adverbs are in blue and run on sentences are in yellow or red, etc, etc. i like how the highlighted sections/words break up the writing and make it easier to look at, even if ignore the suggestions. i dont really care about using too many adverbs, but w/ run on sentences it's good to at least just know what sentences i should look at again to see if it's worth changing to be simpler. otherwise i just like it aesthetically lmao
ANYWAY OT3 WIP. this was actually my first ever f1 wip and i think it shows :/ i still like the idea but i was still so new to f1 and getting to know everyone and i'm not happy with the characterization of them anymore.
the ship was max/daniel/lando not as a triad but as a V, maybe going towards a triad? i hadn't decided. it was a normal people au where max and daniel are nesting partners, and daniel brings lando home w/o warning leading to a less than optimal first impression when max comes home, tired and grumpy after work:
Max realizes later he didn’t even introduce himself, needs to ask Daniel later what his name is. It’s all Daniel’s fault, of course, that Max has made a bad first impression. One of the many reasons they have a rule to warn each other when they’re bringing someone home. It’s not a flawless system, like last month when Daniel’s phone had died, didn't see Max's text, and he’d come home to Max fucking Charles over a kitchen counter. So, Max supposes he’s lucky that his first encounter with Lando hadn’t been worse. Daniel is much more of a serial dater of the two. Max works a 9-5, it takes up more of his time and he's less of a romantic anyway. Daniel works freelance, easy to drop everything when he meets someone new. Max doesn't mind the discrepancy—it works for them and it doesn't really matter what other people might think of it. He hears when Daniel goes out on dates, but they’re not the sort of couple to share a lot of details. At least not until it gets serious. Bringing someone home tends to mean it’s somewhat serious, so Max is surprised he hadn’t heard anything about Lando before. Daniel fills him in: that they’ve been going on dates for a few months now, that he’s an aspiring DJ (Max fights everything in him to not roll his eyes), and so, so, so wonderful, according to Dan. Daniel gets adorably giddy when he's falling in love, something that Max will never get tired of being witness to. He absorbs at least half of the information that Daniel is telling him, and commits to making a much better impression next time he sees Lando. Unfortunately, their next run in turns out equally as awkward.

TCC AI BOTS
thinkin about make a google doc or smth for tcc ai bots. In character ai admins like to shadow ban them and in janitor users can rate them so admins can delete bots.
Can't tell about venus and others cause im from russia and i cant use open ai and API that need payment (our cards not workin)
And the idea is: give you code that you just need to put in creation bot and make it private. This way bot will never be deleted and you can change it to your liking.
I don't recommend character ai for tcc because of violence filter (all tcc bots become just grumpy cuties) And as we know, character ai relies on learning from the number of messages. I recommend using other platforms.

Alternative title: In this house we love and respect Mochi
Dated: 19 November, 2022
Hiro Hamada
Hiro had never seen anything like it. Well, in pictures, sure, but he had seen lots of things in pictures and those didn't feel real. Not the way the winter wind did and the tiny flutter of almost-sensation, feathery bits of cold catching at his eyelashes and melting against his nose.
The town was white and shimmery and, yeah, magical. It never got that cold back home, it never snowed.
Hiro had never known what the big deal was about all those holiday songs about the stuff.
He reached out tentatively to touch the outstretched branches of a tree, all glittery with ice and delicate little leaves frosted over, almost hesitant he might break them. A bit wide-eyed, he was amazed; it was something so simple but to him, it was practically ethereal.
Mochi, tucked up into the hood of his jacket, had far less reservations and squirmed free to take a proper swat at it, then a jump up to the branch itself, sending a full shower of glittery white down as he bounced around the limbs.
"Hey!" Hiro protested, although it came out more of a laugh, until he realized he wasn't the only one caught in Mochi's onslaught. "Oh, oh god, sorry!" He was apologetic, sure, but he had to cover his hands with both gloved hands to stifle the laughter.
-
Doc Hudson
Trying to run away from the Farmlands to try and get some peace and quiet had started like a good idea.
But then it’d started snowing and Doc could almost swear than someone, somewhere, was having a lot of fun at his expense -as if making him miserable by rubbing his past against his face wasn’t bad enough...now it’d started snowing, and that meant he’d be in a world of pain in no time.
And right when he’d wanted to make something good of it all by trying and stop a cat from getting stuck in a snowed-in tree… down came the snow and the realization that the cat hadn’t really been in any potential danger and was, instead, just in a playful mood.
And maybe it was even amused by his suffering.
“Great. Just what I needed” he muttered, covered in snow and trying his damn best to not shout at who seemed to be the cat’s owner.
Oh, this Town was testing him.
-
Hiro Hamada
Mochi looked rather pleased with himself, stamping his small paws a few more times before he jumped down, bobtail wiggling as he landed in the strange man's arms, that subtle little whirling click that started the low rumble of a purr sounding as he kneaded at the man's chest.
Mochi, at least, was enjoying himself.
"Mochi, you little monster," Hiro bit back his laughter long enough to chase his (technically cat-shaped) pet down. "Sorry, he's a pain sometimes."
Hiro was braced because, yeah, older people? Like really older people, not just people who were older than himself? They weren't always pleasant; he'd learned that plenty of times late hours working on his bots and the neighbors across the alleyway yelling at him to go to sleep and stop making so much noise.
His odds didn't look so great then either with that less than thrilled expression he was greeted by.
Apparently not everyone liked snow.
-
Doc Hudson
Would Paul yell at an innocent kid just because he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time?
Well, that would depend on his current mood and what the kid had done.
Being the cause for him being covered in snow, for example, was fair game -sure, that’d do nothing for his ‘grumpy old man’ image, but he felt pretty justified- -buuut then the cat, the real mastermind behind it all, had jumped into his arms, vibrated in an unfamiliar way that Paul vaguely recognized (in theory) as a pur and, well, he started reevaluating.
That didn’t mean he wasn’t pissed, just that he could wait a moment before he did anything about it.
“So I’ve noticed” he said, trying to keep a straight face “you might want to consider buyin’ the lil buddy a leash, kid”
-
Hiro Hamada
"I'd never hear the end of it." Which was not untrue, he would have to turn off Mochi's communication module for a good week until he got over the indignity of it.
And that just wasn't worth it.
He was debating prying the cat off the guy but, yeah, awkward, so he waited until Mochi was done bothering the old guy and jumped down, which, yes, was a mistake because the snow had piled higher and the little calico practically disappeared up to his little ears in it, huffing.
Hiro grinned, reaching down to dig the surprised cat from the drift. "Serves you right, now we're both soaked." Once he had both arms full of flopping, dramatic cyber-feline, he looked back at the man.
Then almost started laughing again before he could force some composure; old guy looked like the picture of ridiculous and a bit frosty, yeah. "Okay, you probably got it worse."
-
Doc Hudson
“You’d rather have old men chidin’ you, then?” granted, both options were pretty bad, but the leash seemed like the lesser evil.
The cat didn’t seem to love the idea, however, and would rather jump into the snow (something that could have been prevented if he’d been on a leash) to try and make their escape.
Foof went the snow pile as the cat almost dissapeared from sight, then emerged, indignant.
That almost made Paul laugh. Almost.
“You both need to be more careful” he said, trying his best to avoid smiling, funny as the situation was “’nd maybe bundle up even more”
Said the man that wasn’t even wearing anything remotely snow-appropiate.
“Wouldn’t want to get sick, would you?”
-
Hiro Hamada
"Well, I am more used to that." He mused as Mochi did a full body shimmy and climbed back to his shoulders to duck into the hood of his jacket and hide there, peering out at the man, quite offended by the entire idea of a leash, yes. Absolutely displeased with that. But he forgot a few seconds later when he noticed the falling snow again and started swatting at it.
"I wasn't expecting it to be this cold," he groaned, "I didn't know this cold was a thing! England is vindictive!" Hiro paused, just as suddenly distracted by the snow as Mochi, cupping his hands to let it gather in his palms. "But it is pretty though," he smiled, and listen; he hated being called a kid unless he was using it to his advantage at the time to get what he wanted.
Because he was short, because he was usually younger than everyone he was intellectually comparable to, because he still hadn't, stupid genetics, grown out of being a perpetually awkward teenager-shaped person. Lots of reasons!
But he wasn't going to win that argument right then staring at the snow like it was some big, magical holiday TV special and he was right in the middle of it.
"Hey, worth it," he pointed out; because how often did snow even happen anyway? Well, all winter probably, but right then it was still pretty new and exciting. "You don't like the snow?"
-
Doc Hudson
Huh.
Well, wasn’t this kid interesting?
“Neither was I” he admited, hand rubbing his opporite arm in order to keep some vague illusion of warmth (not everyone could do as the cat and hide away in other’s clothes, after all. Some of them had to keep moving, bundle up or seek a more appropiate spot to try and get warm) “Took me by surprise, honestly, this mornin’ seemed pretty sunny and yet…”
Now that the thought of it, the kid didn’t have an accent.
“Not from around here, are you, sport?” Doc asked as he eyed the kid, trying to find anything that might reveal even a bit about the kid’s original whereabouts “We oughtta be more mindful ‘bout British weather, I guess”
And with that, he was admitting his status as a fellow outsider, as if the accent wasn’t enough.
“No, I don’t. ‘s a pain in the-” a pause, consideration of the kid’s poor ears “-everythin’. You guys, on the other hand, seem to love it. Where you from, fellas?”
Some snowless place, surely
-
Hiro Hamada
Oh, right, guy was older, like the whole...stay inside by the fire, do the stare at the weather channel, cold was bad sort of older, right? But he wasn't going to say that.
Sport? Seriously, this guy was right out of some movie with the grandpa vibes, huh?
Well, Hiro assumed, he'd never actually known his grandparents.
But there was the vibe, right?
"Nah, not even close." And he always found it a little funny when people started looking at him like he wasn't just some nondescript guy, forgettable; honestly it was a plus in his situation.
Well, in winter anyway; he was decidedly less nondescript in warmer weather and less bundled up.
"You should probably go inside and not, uh, freeze." He wasn't trying to make fun of him, actually, he just knew from personal experience that aching spots were not fun. "California, just not the part where you see much snow." Hiro studied the growing pile of glittery crystals in his palms, then let them fall away with a shake of his hands.
Right, he was getting distracted, again, by something unimportant, right?
He missed being distracted by things like that, even if he hated to admit it.
-
Doc Hudson
‘You should probably go inside and not, uh, freeze’
At that, Paul shot the kid a glare. Sure, he might be older, and complaining about the weather and being tortured by it, but that didn’t give the kid any rights to say that, correct as he might be.
Hearing he was from California added insult to injury, even if that gave him valuable extra-information about him (and the cat) -yeah, the kid from Cali had a mouth, that made sense.
“Was plannin’ to, then some guy and his cat dropped snow on me” he joked, even if his voice leaned more into the bitter side of the scale instead of the playful one “I plan to do so, shortly, anyways”
He could spare a few more minutes, though.
“ ‘s your first snow, I take it. Just a friendly tip, pal: be mindful, the cold can be pretty treacherous. As soon as your insticts tell you ‘s time to get some rest and warm up, you rest and warm up, got it? ‘s easy to get cocky”
And cocky gets you in trouble, that he knew pretty well.
“What’s your name?”
-
Hiro Hamada
Well it wasn't his fault the guy was obviously not happy in the snow! He was just pointing out the obvious.
"I wasn't planning on snow, or Mochi deciding to lose his mind." Hiro pointed out in return, but he did wonder if the man actually minded or if it was the stubborn air of not liking anything that older people seemed to take as their personal right.
Which, yeah, okay, getting older probably sucked so people likely had reasons.
"It can't be that bad," Hiro made a point of protesting, and proving the point by actually moving. He didn't even slip! Although, he did notice his leg wasn't as responsive, he hadn't accounted for snow, just cold; he was...going to have to adjust some things.
But that was a problem for later.
Mochi wiggled his way around to the front of his jacket and popped up to join the conversation with a mewl of his own, paws hanging over the opening at the front of said jacket and chin resting on them.
"So where are you from then? You said we before, about the weather." Hiro had an annoyingly precise capacity to recall details, yes.
He was tempted to point out the 'don't tell your name to strangers' thing but, yeah, no, this guy wasn't going to buy the cute kid act so no point.
"Hiro," he offered instead, dusting his gloves off on his jacket. "Okay, but you're supposed to have fun in the snow, right? I mean...look at it out here!" It was perfect, absolutely perfect; just like a Christmas card!
-
Doc Hudson
“Nobody was, I think” nobody could control the weather, after all.
...right?
(Well, this being Swynlake chances were that there was someone that could somewhat control the weather, but that wasn’t the point -and he doubted that this hypotetical person could be as petty as he had initially imagined. Maybe they were just having fun using their abilities or...whatever).
Anyways…
“It ‘s pretty bad” Paul admited with a huff as he crossed his arms, trying to keep his chest warm “you’d understand if you had a collection of broken bones”
He, of course, assumed the kid didn’t -he was waaay too young to be remotely familiar with that kind of pain.
“it makes mucles ache” he continued, moving a hand toward’s the cat, trying to boop his nose now that it seemed calmer and that he was certain it wouldn’t just jump into his arms “and bones feel sore. ‘s a silent but blunt kinda pain, one that creeps on you”
He paused, then shook his head.
“That’s why you need to be careful, don’t want to end up like that” Doc almost whispered before returning to his usual voice tone and the topic at hand “Arizona. We get snow every now and then, but at least there I know what to expect and when to expect it”
At least then he could easily find refuge and wait it out.
“Hiro, then. I’m Doc -and, again, you need to be more careful, for your own sake”
-
Hiro Hamada
He could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket with a dozen texts, Mochi chattering away at him. There were reasons he hadn't given his communication modifications an upgrade to include vocalization; small cat with a lot to say about everything.
And he could guess at what it was right then.
Assumptions were often wrong, but Hiro didn't correct them; that's where it got awkward and people got that uncomfortable look that he didn't ever get used to seeing.
Mochi smashed his head against the offered hand, the little click and purr sounding again and Hiro could feel the reverberation of it against his chest even with layers of fabric and synthetic fur in the space between himself and the cat.
"You don't end up like that just falling in the snow," Hiro speculated, curiosity flickering on in the back of his brain and creeping along all those little neuro pathways.
It didn't sound like the normal sort of cautionary tale, did it? And it sounded...heavy, like a weight, like something that was almost familiar.
"Arizona; that's like...horses and ranches?" Now, Hiro hadn't ever actually been anywhere outside of San Fransokyo his entire life so it was all purely speculation. Which, yes, for as smart as he was he was a bit less so without a screen in front of him to engage with.
"So people don't have any fun in Arizona?"
-
Doc Hudson
“...well, aren’t you a sweetheart?” Paul asked, still trying his hardest not to smile and, as such, let the cat that had caused this whole incident get away with it “but don’t you think for a second I’ll forget about your devilry, lil’ fella. No amount of kissies will buy my forgiveness”
But maybe a couple of them would sweeten the deal. A couple of purrs and the little extra heat might do the trick.
But he wasn’t about to admit to that, no.
“Haven’t seen old movies before, son?” he continued, now focusing his atenttion on the kid “The ones were kids fall into lakes or freeze to death or get terribly sick just ‘cause they thought they were tougher than the weather? There’s some truth to those things”
No, he wasn’t about to use the “trust me, I’m a Doctor” card just yet.
“That’d depend on which part of Arizona you’re in” he shrugged “Horses, ranches, cities, hell lotta rocks. Would probably bore you outta your mind -what brings you guys all the way here, anyways? Cali has a better weather this time of year”
-
Hiro Hamada
Mochi knew how to play it up, oh yes, to be cute and charming and just endearing. It was a useful code to have, it was also a useful skill to have; Hiro had figured that out years ago back home being places a kid shouldn't have been.
But kids did have an advantage; everyone was a little hesitant to blame them. It was a lot easier to get away with things.
Or it had been, Swynlake was just a small town; Hiro didn't have nearly as much to entertain himself with anymore.
But he had snow, and, well, yeah, he was going to enjoy that.
"He likes you," he felt Mochi flick an ear in confirmation, so the cat wasn't just playing it up.
"Well, yeah, but old movies are also filled with a ton of inaccuracies," Hiro mused, brain quickly jumping on the topic. "And we've got better medical ways to deal with that now, and magic. I...guess? Maybe in the forest? It's more dangerous."
He considered that for a moment, and then he wanted to see what the forest looked like right then. "I bet it looks amazing though, right Mochi?"
If there was any invitation to trouble, Hiro was bound to find it.
Mochi seemed a little hesitant on that one, murring and reaching paws out to Doc's hands, because this idea was his fault, he had to fix it, yes. Mochi did not want to get lost in the woods and eaten by a snow monster!
Hiro's phone went through another round of intense buzzing.
"Family problems," Hiro shrugged, it wasn't the full truth, but he couldn't really be honest anyway. And most of his family being gone was a problem, one he hadn't meant to cause, so it was... marginally true. "But most places are boring compared to home. The people here... aren't though." Some...a little more interesting than others but he still wasn't sure what to make of...feelings and those complicated things.
His brain didn't process that so well, no.
-
Doc Hudson
Doc raised both eyebrows, now legitimately amused.
Now, the cat thing? He had no problem accepting that, he could accept the possibility of the tiny scamp somehow taking a liking to him or at least pretending to in order to get into his good graces and save some face-
-but someone calling California second to best in anything? That was something he thought he’d never hear. Wasn’t it supposed to be a place many dreamed of, traffic, ridiculous prices and ocassional water shortages be damned?
Hell, he could almost feel a certain insufferable someone positively seething at the idea of California being described as ‘not all that’, even in the tiniest of aspects, even if only about it’s people.
This kid was amusing, so much so that he could ignore his smartassery about movies not being completely realistic, hell, Doc might even grow fond of him, eventually.
“I see. Sorry ‘bout that” he muttered, figuring there wasn’t much else he could say about that, then looking at the cat’s wide eyes and his apparent wish to seek some shelter.
Ugh.
Ugh, this kids…
“Let’s go get somethin’ you guys warm to drink” he said, head pointing in what he believed to be the general direction of Hatter’s “my treat. We’ve been under the snow for way too long and I’m not riskin’ you gettin’ sick just ‘cause I decided to start babblin'”
-
Hiro Hamada
San Fransokyo was, in Hiro's view, basically the epicenter of basically everything progressive. Now, the guy he had met at the fundraiser had been pretty set on a different area of Calli was the end all for sports? Which, Hiro had little interest in sports so honestly, he wasn't sure of the validity of that one, hadn't looked much into it, yet.
But it was perspective, really; wasn't it? He didn't expect anywhere to come close to home in regards to tech, but there were probably places that were just as impressive in other ways.
Like magic.
"Hey!" He shot Mochi a look, knowing he was conspiring against him. "Seriously? That's practically mutiny." He poked Mochi on his furry little head and rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll leave you home when I go out later, scaredy-cat."
It was fine, he preferred to be out at night alone anyway, and the snow probably looked even better at night.
"Well, since I've been overruled and ganged up against anyway," Hiro made a vague motion, "but...you gotta lead, town still sends me in circles."
Which, yes, he had a way around it, but he wasn't going to drag Doc around on the roofs; that probably was just asking for the guy to break his neck and Hiro didn't want that.
-
Doc Hudson
Huh, the kid seemed to understand his cat pretty well -had Paul not known better, he’d probably felt excluded from a conversation he wasn't even sure that existed.
But surely that was just his imagination and merely the fabled connection between a boy and his pet that movies liked to go on and on about.
“Go easy on the little guy, he just wants to warm up and maybe take a nap” Doc said, still pretty amused “I can relate”
Specially in that weather.
“Well, let’s hope Town’s in a good mood, ‘cause she likes takin’ me in circles too” he chuckled as he took a few steps back, then looked around “but maybe she’ll be kind to us this time”
They’d already entertained her, he figured, and really could use a nice stay at Hatter’s in return.
And maybe the ki- Hiro would find a way to further surprise him.

Your ‘autobots finding a sparkling’ headcanons were wholesome as heck! Consider this: with prowl’s sparkling, he finds out they have a camouflage type ability (changing colors to blend in) when they see a chameleon on one of his nature docs. It’s all cool until sparkling can mimic invisibility with it. Thought?
Man... Parental Autobots. My poor, beating, vulnerable heart can't take so much cute! Anywho, yes, I love this! Here’s the ‘TFA Characters With A Sparkling’ set for anyone who missed it, and these new headcanons beneath the cut. Enjoy!
Prowl expected to be a lonely, solitary soul for the rest of his life, but he ends up becoming a parent when he finds this little sparking in a pod that’s crashed on earth, all on its own.
Ratchet is grumpy and doesn’t want anything to do with the main care of the sparkling (except for medical care and the basics of making sure it’s alive, of course), Optimus is too busy leading Team Prime and too neglectful of himself to even consider caring for someone else, and Bumblebee and Bulkhead are disasters who are almost still like sparklings themselves, so naturally, Prowl is the default to take care of this little bundle of joy.
The sparkling is similar to Prowl in some ways growing up; calm temperament, a bit selfish and self-involved, but also hard working and intelligent. The only thing that they have that isn’t from Prowl is a terrible sense for mischief/getting themselves into trouble.
They like going on Prowl’s nature docks a lot, but also like running off and fucking with random wildlife- chameleons especially are a big hit, for some reason.
They get older, Prowl starts training them, just as you’d expect. Only... Most bots have special, built in upgrades or abilities or weapons- something that makes them special. The sparkling, who they’ve simply named Cage, doesn’t have anything well into new-spark-hood and it’s really quite odd.
All of them are thinking it- that is until one day during a Decepticon attack where they’re trying to capture Cage, he’s nowhere to be found, and the Autobots manage to scare them off, only for their little newspark to suddenly appear in front of a tree. Prowl sees that their color, gold, silver, and red, is fading in and out to brown to match the bark, and then back to their natural coloring. And so it seems that, out of fear, they discovered an ability to camouflage, which would later be proved to be both very useful and very dangerous.
At first, after the whole ‘power should be used responsibly’ lecture, Cage only uses their camouflaging ability during battles and tactile situations where it’s needed.
But then Bumblebee comes along and, as always, is a HORRIBLE influence.
“Whaaat? You have an ability that cool and don’t ever use it for anything else? C’mon, man, let me show you how it’s done!”
Well. That ends in Cage learning how to use their abilities for, uh, EVERYTHING, as well as practicing them enough that they figure out the invisibility aspect of their camouflage powers, too. They’re hiding when Prowl is mad at them for something, scaring people, moving stuff without being noticed, etcetera. It’s pretty funny to them and Bumblebee but everyone else is super agitated about it- or at least tries to be.
Honestly, Prowl loves his little sparkling too much to be... Genuinely mad. Acts like he’s a stern parent to the outside world but is actually a big ol softy who just wants his kid to love him. They probably bond a lot over the newfound ability- even the not-so-ethical uses of it- and use it in training a lot, and more often than not, it proves to be beneficial.

Robotic Friendshp - Chapter 12
Summary: The Autobots get a super virus on their computer system. Raf's oldest sister is brought in to help.
Pairing: Ratchet x OC (platonic), Soundwave x OC (platonic)
Word Count: 1211
Warnings/Disclaimers: Soundwave being not so nice to Nikki but then attempting to make up for it.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
A tendril swept out and slammed Nikki into the wall. A throbbing pain shot down from her head all the way down her spine. "I'm sorry!" she cried out.
Soundwave held her datapad in another tendril. Nikki had been working for almost twenty-four hours now. She was exhausted, but apparently that did not excuse the few mistakes she made in the last set of assigned code.
"Please!" Tears welled up in her eyes.
He squished her into the wall more, his blank faceplate staring at her intensely. She cringed even more. I don't want to die… Not like this!
Soundwave swung her back gently to the panel she sat on before, not giving her back the datapad. She looked up at him meekly, wondering what his next move was going to be. He held her gaze silently before lifting up a servo and softly pushing her to lie down.
She watched him with wide eyes. Does he…want me to go to sleep? She did not fuss once she was lying on her side. It felt nice to relax like that. Within moments, her lack of sleep overcame her.
-
Ratchet tapped his pede on the ground. He had sent a transmission out to WheelJack and had not received a reply. Raf was asleep on the couch. While everyone else had gone home to rest, Raf stayed. He wanted to be there when they found Nikki. In his hand, he held the Energon shard he had found. For some reason, he felt better with it near.
A quick beep startled Raf awake. Ratchet made a b-line to the computer. "This is Ratchet."
"Yo, Doc."
"It's about time you responded!"
"Whoa! Calm down, Doc! What's with the urgency?"
Raf sat there, fiddling with the shard.
"You didn't even listen to the transmission?" Ratchet's servos were up in the air. "One of our human allies has been kidnapped!"
"And this is Autobot concern beca—"
"—By the Decepticons."
Silence.
"What? Are they trying to use it has bait?"
Ratchet shook his helm. "We are not sure yet."
"…Send over a Ground Bridge?"
He was anxiously waiting for that response. He pulled the lever to the bridge and WheelJack dissolved through. He waved to Raf. "Sup?"
Raf shrugged and kept fidgeting.
Ratchet proceeded to explain what had happened. "We need extra scouts. Have you seen the Nemesis recently?"
WheelJack shook his helm. "No. But if the Boss Bot is that concerned, I'll help ya out."
Ratchet nodded. "Thank you. Optimus and the others went out searching. They will be regrouping here soon."
WheelJack began to pace. "Soon" meant nothing at this point. He took notice of Raf and leaned his faceplate over the railing. "Whatcha got there?"
Raf jumped. "I-It's…" He held out the shard in his palm. "I found it earlier…"
Ratchet made his way over for a look. "Where in the Allspark did you find that?"
"Mmm… By the couch."
"What? Are you feeding humans Energon now?" WheelJack joked.
"Wait…this…" Ratchet held out his servo.
Raf placed it in the medic's palm.
Ratchet studied it closely. "This was…the shard that cut her…"
-
Nikki's hand burned when she woke up to the feeling of a breeze. Her eyes opened and she saw the walls moving. What in the… She sat up groggily. She nearly jumped out of her skin, finding she was sitting on Soundwave's shoulder.
Realizing her awakened state, a tendril wrapped its prongs around her and pulled her off. They reached an automatic door the whizzed open. A short distance away, Megatron stood in front of gigantic screens with his back to the two of them. Nikki held her bandaged hand, which made a crunching noise. Though startled by this discovery, she was still more worried about Megatron.
"Soundwave, report."
He handed Megatron a datapad.
"…Good. Now fix the navigation and flight."
Soundwave answered with one solid nod.
-
"What are you going on about, Doc?"
Ratchet waved a servo, shrugging WheelJack off. He brought the shard to his workstation. Raf looked to WheelJack who glanced back and raised his servos meaning, "I don't know." Frowning, the tiny human went to the other side of the platform. "Ratchet, what are you doing?"
Waving them off again, he replied, "I'm working." He put the shard into a test tube and began melting it down. He mumbled to himself, "This is insane, but it might just work."
-
Soundwave brought Nikki back to the workroom and placed on the panel she was at before, setting the datapad in front of her. He pointed to it. Nikki re-situated herself and reviewed the code. Oh boy… This is starting to get out of my league… She glanced up at Soundwave who was staring down at her. Sighing, she starts typing. What am I going to do if I hit something I don't know?
The lanky, voiceless robot turned to his own work. He was going through the navigation system. That required so much data that a mere human could not possibly fathom it. Every now and then, he glanced over at Nikki. Her pace was much slower than it had been. After an hour, he suspected she might be stalling in some futile hope that the Autobots might triumphantly appear and save her. He paused. She looked…frustrated. She was running a hand through her hair and clenching it. Then, she typed a few more lines of code. As she reviewed the next lines, she pulled her low ponytail over her shoulder, twirling it into knots. Soundwave stared down. She would only write a tiny amount of code and then replace it while sighing heavily.
He picked up the datapad. Nikki spun around and cringed. What did I do wrong? Her eyes widened, for fear that he might throw her into a wall again. Her back still hurt if she moved too quickly. Soundwave tapped the screen rapidly before placing it back. She checked it and scrolled down. Everything she had just worked on had been fixed in some slight way. At the bottom was a relatively large set of code but it was much easier than what she had been doing. She looked up at Soundwave confused. He had already turned away to finish his own project.
-
Raf and WheelJack sat around, impatiently waiting for Ratchet to say something. Optimus called for a Ground bridge about half an hour in, to which Ratchet switched on in a huff. The Autobots rolled in and transformed. Bulkhead, normally excited to see his old buddy, only said, "Hey, Jackie," and bumped knuckles with him. Ratchet walked away before shutting off the bridge. Optimus looked to Arcee who was the closest to the lever now. She shrugged and pulled it, the glow of the portal dissipating.
"Ratchet?" Optimus walked up behind the normally grumpy medic.
He waved his servo. "Just a moment. Almost have it…"
Optimus glanced to Raf and WheelJack who had no answers for him.
"Ha-hah!" Ratchet yelped triumphantly.
The monitor in front of him bleeped and ran through the command code. It then displayed a map of Earth and began scanning.
WheelJack vented harshly, "You gonna tell us now, Doc?"
Ratchet spun around with a grin on his faceplate. "I have, theoretically, found Nikki!"

TFP Ratchet X Sick! Reader
       Regular P.o.V
               You had a very bad tendency to push yourself past your limit when you were sick. You'd force yourself to go to school and work, and help out anyone who'd ask. This meant when Miko wanted a sleepover at the base, you'd felt obligated to go, and agreed. So now you were waiting for your guardian, Smokescreen to come to pick you up and take you to the base, all the while trying to ignore the raging migraine going on in your skull.        You were snapped out of your thoughts when a car honked from outside, signalling that your guardian had arrived. Picking up your overnight bag, you left the house, locking the door in the process and hoping in the driver's seat, a cough wracking your throat as you got in. "Woah, Y/n, you don't sound too good. You sure you want to come?" Smokescreen asked. You nodded your head, "Miko wanted to do a sleepover, and It's fine I'm not that sick anyways." "If you say so, just don't let Ratchet see you." He joked, making you smile. He knew you had feelings towards the grumpy medic, and would always joke around or tease you about, but only if it was just the two of you. "He'd lose his mind if he knew I was sick and didn't take proper care." You smiled, the small town buildings getting sparser until it was all merely desert.
         Pulling into the base, Smokescreen stopped so you could walk out and make your way to the small loft that Miko and Jack were already at, challenging one another at the racing game they were playing. "Hey, guys," you greeted, setting your bag down on the floor and sitting down on the couch next to Jack. "Hey Y/n! You excited for tonight?" Miko asked, her eyes still glued onto the screen in front of her. You nodded your head with a smile, "Of course I am!" You held up the most authentic enthusiastic demeanour that you could muster, though it wasn't that easy with your migraine getting worse.           Their game soon ended with Miko as the winner, and her bragging about it. "So, what do we do next?" You questioned, hugging onto a stray pillow. "We could play truth or dare?" Miko suggested. "Maybe," Jack replied. You knew he wasn't a big fan of those types of games. "Why don't we talk about a certain wrecker you've had your eyes on?" You smirked, poking Miko's side. "What? I have no clue what you're talking about." She claimed, crossing her arms. You chuckled and nodded your head, "Sure you don't, it's not like its not obvious." Jack joined in on the teasing. None of the bots were around surprisingly, all off doing their own thing. Miko looked over at you, "Well what about you and the Doc? You're always staring at him while he works," she teased, your face flushing a bright red. "Don't be ridiculous, Ratchet wouldn't want someone like me, I'm not even his species!" You exclaimed. Miko was in silence for a moment, "I don't like this, she's planning something," Jack said uneasily. You nodded in agreement. "What if you caught his attention? Make him fall for you?" She suggested, You immediately shook your head. "Miko that's insane," Jack spoke up, you were about to say something when you started coughing. After a few moments, you couldn't stop coughing and couldn't breathe, so you quickly picked up your bag and searched for your inhaler, finding it after a few frantic seconds before using it and finally being able to breathe again. "Y/n are you alright?" Jack asked you, to which you muttered a very scratchy 'yes.' "I just have a little cold." You admitted, making Miko beam with excitement. "Aha! That's the perfect reason to see Ratchet!" You shook your head vigorously, "no, Miko." You stated, ending the discussion there. "Awe fine, but in my defence, it could've worked out between you two." You giggled at her comment, and the three of you spent the rest of the night watching movies and eating the junk food Miko had brought from home.
       You woke up in worse shape than expected, your voice was almost completely gone, you had a high fever. You tried to stand up, but was hit with very bad dizzy spells and almost tumbled down the stairs. You looked around to see that you were the only one up, and decided it would probably be best just to stay up on your phone since you wouldn't be getting any sleep in your state. You felt another coughing fit come up and reached for your inhaler. Right now you were regretting your choice to go to the sleepover rather than just staying at home. The time read 7:42 so you knew Smokescreen would be up soon and would be able to drive you home so you could deal with the cold yourself. You threw the blanket you were using over you to keep the chills away to no avail, you were shivering like a dog.        It wasn't long before you heard the thumps of an Autobot, and you got hopeful thinking it was Smokescreen, but when you looked around you were met with a white and orange paint job. "Ratchet?" You spoke as loud as your raspy voice would let you, which wasn't much. The bright blue optics met with your tired ones, and you could've sworn in your daze a flash of concern went across the medic's face. "I'm sorry to be a bug, but could are there any extra blankets? I'm freezing," Ratchet walked over towards your shivering form, and as much as he wanted to lecture you about forcing yourself out when you're sick, he knew the best thing for you was to rest. "I'll drive you home. You really need to get some rest." You nodded and said a small thank you as another coughing fit took over your system. Grabbing your stuff, you hopped into Ratchet's vehicle mode and he drove out of the base.
               "You have a very high fever," He noted after a few minutes. "Probably, it's not uncommon. And I'm really sorry you have to drive me home, I thought I could last until at least this afternoon when I planned to go home." You answered. "I'll have Smokescreen check up on you later, for now as soon as you get inside, you need to rest and have plenty of fluids if you're fever doesn't go down then take a warm bath and it should help." "You sure know a lot about humans and their health." You smiled, looking out of the window. "I figured it wouldn't hurt since Miko does get into a lot of trouble, and it certainly came in handy since you push yourself too hard when you're sick." You liked seeing this nicer side of Ratchet, though you figured he was only being this way since you wouldn't really remember after you got better.        You saw your house come into view and found yourself struggling to stand up and grab your bag. Eventually, you did, and as you walked up to your house you waved goodbye to the medic, who didn't do anything in turn. Unlocking your door, you stepped in, waved again, shut it, and fell back asleep on the couch, not even caring anymore since you always kept thick blankets in the living room.
           Some hours past and you heard a small knock at your door. cursing whoever was there, you dragged yourself out from the comfort of the warm couch and opened it, not caring how horrendous you may have looked. Though you were surprised to see the holo-form of the same medic that had dropped you off a few hours ago. "Ratchet?" Your voice was barely heard as said medic nodded his head. "Smokescreen is on a mission so I decided to check up on you." He explained as you let him in. "Have you been doing everything I listed?" "Um-no," you quickly answered, "I've been sleeping all day." You chuckled sheepishly. "Well, then it looks like I came at the right time. Since Smokescreen isn't here, and quite frankly I don't trust him to take care of you, I'll be your caretaker for the rest of the day." He declared, hanging up his jacket in the closet and ushering for you to go lay back down on the couch.
       "No Ratchet really, I'm fine," you tried to say, but it was interrupted by a coughing fit. "Doesn't sound like you're okay. Now rest, It seems like you still have a fever so I'll get you a damp cloth." He looked around for a minute before you gave a light giggle. "They're in the kitchen drawer next to the stove, third one down." He nodded and swiftly went to get it for you.        If you were being honest, you loved getting the attention of your favourite bot. He got your fever to go down and even managed to make soup-with you directing him from the couch so he wouldn't burn it. You were grateful for his help and honestly felt better enough to mostly everything.        "Thanks for everything today Ratchet, I know you're usually busy at the base," you smiled, wrapped up on the couch in a big fuzzy blanket. "It's quite alright, there wasn't much happening, and Optimus insisted I get out of the Base more." You nodded your head in agreement. "Makes sense, you two always look out for each other."        You sat quietly for a moment, debating if now was the right moment to tell him your feelings, but he beat you to it. "Y/n, I must confess something." You noticed the pinkish colour that spread to his cheeks, signalling he was embarrassed. "What is it?" You almost sound too eager to hear his response. "I must admit that for the last week or so I have become infatuated, with you." This time you felt your face heat up, and you gave him a big smile. "I'm so glad to hear that Ratchet, I feel the same," a look of relief flashed across the medic's face. "Since I'm feeling better, is it alright for me to come back to the base?" Ratchet thought for a moment, before retaking your temp and checking your vitals, and once you reassured him three times, he agreed that you could.
           "Soo, what do we tell the team?" You questioned, looking down at the dashboard. "Do you want to tell them?" He answered with another question, and you shook your head. "I mean it's not that I have a problem if they know, but I kinda want to keep it on the down-low, for now, maybe we only tell Optimus first." Ratchet agreed with you as he drove into the base, where a couple of the bots were hanging around, along with Miko.          Stepping out, you were greeted by an excited Miko, who basically smothered you with a hug until you couldn't breathe. "No roughhousing Y/n, take it easy," were Ratchet's last few words to you before turning over to work on the computer. "Don't worry!" You called back. Miko sent you a sly smirk. "What? What's that supposed to mean?" You asked, only making her giggle. "He obviously cares about you, why not make a move first?" You shook your head and climbed up to rest on the couch. "No, I think I'm good for now," You replied.        Not too long after talking with Jack, Raf and Miko for some time did Smokescreen come and greet you. "Hey Y/n, Ratchet drive you back home?" You nodded your head. "I was just going to for you to wake up, but I felt really sick so I asked if he could." "Awe I'm sorry Y/n, next time come wake me and I'll drive you." He told, "no-no, you already use enough energy, that recharge is all you have. Besides, I'm feeling better now." Miko joined in on the conversation, "was it because the doc was at your house all day today?" You blushed and hid your face in your hands, making your friends laugh at you. "Well, he only did it because Smokescreen was out on a mission," saying this caused a confused look on the rookie's face. "What? I didn't have a mission today? We were all here, save for some patrol but nothing too unusual. Why would he say I have a mission?" "Aww, he wanted to spend time with you!" Miko poked your cheek, "that's adorable Y/n!" She squealed. "He has a soft spot for you, you know." Smokescreen said in a hushed tone to you. You giggled along with them before glancing towards the medbay. "You wanna go make a move?" Miko asked, nudging your side. You decided why the heck not, and motioned for Smokescreen to help you up.
       'Hey Ratchet," You greeted, as you walked closer to him. "Y/n," he greeted half mindedly, more so focusing on the screen in front of him. "So I was wondering why you said Smokescreen was on a mission when he was actually here at the base?" This made the medic stop, and blush a very faint, but bright blue. "W-Well," he stumbled over his words, and you giggled. "It's alright Ratchet, you can tell me later. But I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date sometime?" You asked fairly calmly, though on the inside you were completely freaking out. The white and orange bot thought for a moment before replying with a very quiet, "yes," making you grin from ear to ear.
       For the rest of the day, you sat there and worked with Ratchet with whatever he was doing, just wanting to spend time with him overall, as Smokescreen and Miko would watch from afar, sometimes giggling or whispering to one another as they watched on. You felt being with Ratchet was right, and hopefully, he thought the same, but only time will tell.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely not my best, but I wanted a nice sweet chapter to kick us off again. I really hope you guys enjoyed it :)

More lusting leaders PLEASE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heatwave and Kade smirked as Megatron and Optimus struggled against Mr. Pettypaws. The cat was scratching widely, and the two leaders were having trouble getting the cat out of the tree and onto the ground.
“What’s with the new bots?” Kade jumped as Mrs. Neederlander appeared behind him, “you and the firetruck were doing just fine.”
“We’re just testing out some new bots for the government. After we fix the bugs on these, we’ll ship them out to Jasper Nevada,” Kade gave a nervous laugh and hopped that the elderly lady would take his lie.
“I think that they’ll need to reprogram those two, they’re more defective than some of the things that come out of Doc Green’s lab,” Megatron growled as Optimus tried again to get Mr. Pettypaws out of the tree, only to get scratched badly with Energon pouring down his arms and for the cat to go back into the tree.
“Come on Heatwave, let’s show these two how it’s done.” Heatwave transformed and Kade walked up the ladder. For once the cat just leaped into the fireman's arms and purred. “Alright Mrs. Neederlander, he’s alright.”
“It’s about time!” The grumpy old lady opened her arms and the cat returned to her and turned to enter her house.
“That creature is a span of Unicron!” Megatron whispered yelled.
“For once, I agree with Megatron,” Optimus said in agreement.
“You two need to cool it! You are Robots in disguise.” Kade whispered, “let’s just go back to the firehouse.” the two leader’s transformers and headed in the direction of the firehouse. “You need to get a handle on those two!”
“I’m trying to!” Heatwave hissed and the two followed to the leaders.
“I wonder if they know we can see them talking to the robots,” Mrs. Neederlander said to her cat, “those kids need to get out more, Chief too.”

Imagine The Tfp Bots/Tfa Blitzwing Reacting To Their Half Demon S/O And Their Demon Parent
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters For Ask:
Tfp Ratchet/Tfp Soundwave/Tfa Blitzwing
~
Tfp Ratchet:
Ratchet's optics look you up and down before he scoffs and turns back to whatever it is he was currently working on
whatever it is you were trying to do, he doesn't have time for your shenanigans s/o!
it doesn't matter if it's Cybertronian demons or human demons, the old medic believes in neither and will continue to deny your claims about being exactly that no matter how many times you argue back
eventually it leads to you having to actually prove to the grumpy Autobot what you are, even if partly, for him to even believe you by the tiniest amount
Ratchet wants to say something smart, like you're just using some sort of light trick, or give a scientific explanation, but he really can't
he sighs with helm in his servos as you continue to stand there doing or showing some demonic part of yourself; he's really too old for this stuff
he wants to ask why you hadn't told him before, but when he thinks about the way he acted when you literally just had, he can see why you didn't
Ratchet actually steps away from his work to talk more in depth with you about what you are, who you are, and where you come from, because even though he'll take this to the grave with him Ratchet is very much curious
you tell him everything, but what catches his interest and has him pausing you before you move onto another thing to say, is the mention of your full fledged demon parent who's trapped in a statue
by the hesitant expression on your face, Ratchet deduces that you were trying to brush by without having to explain, but he's not going to let you
this may very well put you in even more danger than you already were with just being with him and his team; imagine what the Decepticons would do to get their servos on you for such information as the location of an all powerful, other worldly being of pure chaos
after you explain everything about your demonic parent to the doc, he can see how much the topic has drained you and decides that’s enough for tonight before ushering you off to get some rest or fresh air
before you completely leave the vicinity though, Ratchet lets you know that he thinks nothing ill of you now knowing what you are; in fact he makes sure to tell you how happy it makes him that you did come to him
he know's he can be a very hard bot to talk to, even as an s/o, so it means a lot to him that you still came to him anyways with knowing how he'd react
he feels his spark flutter at the bright smile that takes over your face as you leave, and returns back to his work, but not before comming Optimus(the only person he knows who can keep a secret) about your monstrous parent and the concerns he has about them and your safety
Tfp Soundwave:
Soundwave knew looooong before you even think about telling him about your other half, the only thing is that he doesn't know what your other half is
what I mean is that Soundwave knew something was off about you; you looked human, acted human, but there was just something about you that said you were anything but; he just couldn't figure out what
when you do pull him aside and tell him you're half demon you get as about as much of a reaction as you thought you would from the silent mech; a silent, gleaming visor stare
you get that ominous expression for a few seconds longer before Soundwave walks over to his large monitor, types something in, and points at a picture of Hell Boy when it suddenly pops up
you giggle and tell him no, proceeding to explain further about actual demons and their lore
truth is, Soundwave knows about real demons, or at least the mythical and religious information about them; he just did what he did to make you feel more at ease
if there's one sure thing about the silent con is his abilities to detect the smallest of details, and your very uncomfortable body language when confessing to him what/who you are did not go unnoticed by his observant self
after all is said, you two just sit there, Soundwave staring at you and you staring at the floor as silence takes over
the Con picks up on the way your fingers fidget, and your eyes flitter about instead of at him, and he knows you're still hiding something
he taps you lightly with a slim digit to get your attention, and when you look up there's a question mark glowing on his visor
you sigh before telling him something that’s been weighing down on you more then just being half demon; it's about your demonic parent who's been trapped in a statue for centuries
Soundwave once again sits still and silent as ever as you tell him more about your parent
they're nothing like you, where you're sweet and kind, they're down right evil and sickly twisted
you finally finish and watch for any sort of reaction from him, not the big gasp emoji or arms failing or anything like that, no, you watch for the subtle finger twitch, the glint to his visor, or the very very minuscule movement of his arm wings
after sitting there silently for sometime Soundwave suddenly stands and gently takes you in his servo
a small heart pops on his visor before he gently bonks his helm to your forehead and he proceeds to go back to his station while opening a comforting sub space just for you to rest in
for the rest of the night, the only sounds are the clacking of keys and your light snores from with in Soundwave, and the Decepticon is left to probably the most difficult decision he's ever had to make; should he tell Megatron about your true self and your parent, or keep a secret from the leader he's always been so devoted to?
Tfa Blitzwing:
you get three types of reactions; skeptical disbelief, demands to unleash hell across Detroit, and cooing while being called "tiny lil demon baby"
it was clear you weren't going to get a single type of reaction from Blitzwing, but with the three different personas it was all slightly over whelming
you decide to indulge the first two in a way that doesn't involve destroying a whole city
with wide optics watching you perform a small magic act, but one still powerful enough to prove this isn't some kind of fancy joke, Blitz is left speechless
this whole time he thought you were just another ordinary organic, well his ordinary organic if that makes you feel any better, but no, instead you've secretly been only half of what he imagined you to be
he questions why you never thought to bring this up, and you state you were fearful of him telling Megatron who would in turn use you as a means of destruction
Blitzwing understands your concern and doesn't hold it against you, or at least two parts of him don't; Hot Head can be a pouty shit baby but he won't stay mad for long only because it's you
Blitzwing doesn't know much about human lore(or anything about humanity really); the Con's never had the need or want to invest in the culture of your race, even after you two had gotten together
now though, he's very much curious, especially since this seems to be a big deal regarding you
he spends the next hour or two asking you questions about demons and yourself, and is quietly surprised by how different you are compared to the insights you're giving him about your other half
during that time you slip out about having a demon parent, and he ask you about them
the sudden paleness of your face tells him he just popped open a very bad topic and quickly apologizes, but you're just as quick to tell him he's done nothing wrong and you should probably tell him about them anyways
he is astounded to hear your descriptions of this person who aided in your creation; sure the Decepticons have taken many lives as a whole, but from what you shakily tell your parent has taken just as many all on their own
Blitzwing feels a wave of relief wash over him as he learns that this monster of an entity is trapped somewhere in a statue in a place you're not even sure of
while the chaos they've wrought among the world does somewhat leave him in a state of awe, he's also keenly aware of how much of a danger they are
you two go about your ways, either sticking together or off to take care of your own responsibilities, but either way two of Blitzwings persona's are very much concerned about your safety and are debating on whether or not to tell Megatron in case a certain seeker finds out about your demon parent and decides to mistakenly use them as a weapon
the last persona is concerned too, but at the moment he's too preoccupied with making adorable demon horns for you(if you secretly have horns already and reveal them, Random will die from gushing over you)

Iron Legion (7/?)
Never let it be said that Tony Stark ever does things by half. He might have grown up with little family, but he wasn’t about to keep it that way.
Tony Stark was seventeen when his first child was born, and that was just the beginning.
For Masterpost, AO3, and Fanfiction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daddy's Home
Tony Stark was thirty-four when Iron Man was born.
Tony smiled as a chorus of voices answered his call. “Hey, kids, you all having fun in the country music state?”
“Have you been having fun?” Nebula asks with a knowing voice and Tony hates how much her and J.A.R.V.I.S. gossip. None of his kids needed to know what he does in his bedroom when they’re not home. Or who he does.
“Daddy! Daddy look! I had Harley and Valeria cut my hair!” Teresa said, stealing the phone away for herself so she could show him her new look. “I look just like you now!”
“Yeah, Tori sent me pictures, Resa,” Tony chuckled, remembering the panic-filled text that had come with them. Honestly, the kid was eight. If she wanted her siblings to shear off her hair, who was he to care.
“I’m taking her to a barbershop tomorrow to have them clean it up,” Nebula said, grabbing the phone from her sister.
“Nebs said they’ll make me look even more like you!” Teresa shouted and he could see her hand grabbing at the phone.
“I’ll have to show you how to style it right when I get back,” Tony said, leaning back.
“Is Uncle Rhodey there?” Harley asked, jumping onto Nebula’s back.
“Get off me shrimp!” the teen huffed, shoving him off, but not before losing the phone to her brother.
“Hey, I’m taller than Teresa!”
“Am not!” came Teresa’s argument.
Harley’s face appeared, far too close to the screen. “Is Uncle Rhodey there?”
“Well don’t I feel loved,” Tony pouted. “I call to talk and all I get are questions about Rhodey?”
“Yup.”
“You spend too much time with your mother. No respect.”
“Dad,” Harley whined, elongating the a.
“Nope. You can talk to him when we get back.”
That made the boy perk up. “You’ll be back in time for my birthday, right?”
“Of course! As soon as Rhodey and Dad are done playing with the new toys Rhodey’s friends are buying then we’ll be straight there.”
“Speaking of birthdays, what did you get Aunt Pepper for hers?” Nebula asked, shoving Harley’s face away and giving her father a knowing look.
“No idea, but I hear it was nice.”
“Daddy forgot again,” Teresa giggled and then all three of them were laughing at him.
“This is why Jay’s my favorite.”
“Thank you, Sir.”
“What are you all doing up? ” came Tori’s voice.
“Uh oh, someone’s in trouble,” Tony said.
“Yeah, you.” She took the phone and gave him a glare. “Do you know what time it is here?”
“Late?” Tony offered.
“Very. Kids, say goodbye to your father.”
“Bye, Daddy! Love you!” Teresa yelled while her brother shouted, “Bye, Dad. Tell Uncle Rhodey I said you guys need to hurry back!”
“I don’t have a bedtime,” Nebula pointed out.
“You do here,” Tori said, handing her the phone.
“I’m not a child,” Nebula huffed before turning to Tony. “Goodnight, Father.”
“Night, Nebula. Try not to drive Tornado too insane with your teenage angst schtick. That’s my job.”
Nebula snorted and shook her head. “Be safe.”
“Don’t worry. We’re just showing off the Jerico to the brass.”
“Tony!”
“Looks like we’re landing. I’ll call you when we’re headed home. Love you!”
“Love you too.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Got a family?”
“Yes, and I will see them when I leave here. And you, Stark?”
A man with a heart of gold that had somehow managed to put up with Tony’s nonsense since they were teenagers. A bodyguard who put up a grumpy act, despite being rather soft. A woman that embodied the term mother bear. A fiery redhead that happily put him in his place. An alien who had recently taken to wearing a silvery-blue pixie cut wig and had hacked her mask so she could add dark makeup to the disguise. A pair of bots that were always in the way and never listened. A snippy UI that refuses to call him anything but Sir. A little girl that left LEGOs all across the house and wanted to be just like her daddy. A boy who was just as contrary as his mother. A little girl who wasn’t his, but that only meant he got to be the fun uncle instead of a responsible parent for once.
A whole group of people he would do anything to protect.
“Nothing.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“How are the kids?” Tony asked as soon as they’d left the base.
“They’re thrilled to know you’re back. None of them really handled your disappearance well. We kept them at Tori’s since Obidiah’s come sniffing around your house a few times. I kept him out since you hadn’t been declared dead, but we didn’t want to risk him finding them alone. Teresa and Nebula will be here tomorrow. It would have been sooner, but as I thought you would be in the hospital, I figured it would be better to wait,” Pepper said, her voice sharp at the end.
“I wanna talk to them.”
This, at least, Pepper didn’t argue.
“Keener residence,” a male voice answered.
“Hey, Richards. Where’s your cousin?”
“Shit, Stark, you really are still alive?”
“Nice to hear from you too.”
“Who is it?” Tori asked, voice distant.
“Stark.”
“What the- Give me that!” There was a shuffling sound then Tori’s voice came through clearer. “Tony, thank God you’re alright! How are you? I thought Pepper said they were taking you to the hospital.”
“She lied. I’m fine. I want to talk to the kids.”
“Of course. Harley’s at school right now, but the others are here. Frank, get the kids, please.”
“Cousin cowboy come over to complain about me again?” Tony asked, tucking the phone between his shoulder and cheek so he could adjust his arm into a more comfortable position in the sling.
“Oh shut up. You know Frank likes you, he just…”
“Thinks I should have married you instead of that trash you won’t let me track down.”
“You both need to let that go. I just want to forget about him.”
“But if we do that then Franky and I won’t have anything in common. It’s the only thing we agree on.”
“Why Mr. Stark, was that a proposal?” Tori sighed, exaggerating her accent.
Tony held the phone out to Pepper. “Give that back to me when the kids get on the line. I shouldn’t be dealing with this kind of emotional trauma after what I just went through!”
She ignored him, continuing to work on her phone to set up the requested press conference.
He put the phone back to his ear. “I thought I asked for my kids.”
“They’re coming. Frank had to go fetch them from the barn. Harley and Teresa have turned it into their personal workshop so Nebula and her have been using it for school time. It’s got the best internet speeds on the property. Hell, probably the best in the county.”
“I’m so proud,” Tony said, and he definitely wasn’t tearing up.
A loud crash sounded from over the phone, accompanied by, “DADDY!”
“Teresa, hold on and -” Tori cut off with a yelp.
“Daddy!” Teresa yelled right in his ear before continuing in a softer voice littered with sobs. “Daddy! Are you okay? Aunt Pepper said the bad guys took you and the news kept saying you were probably dead, but Aunt Tori said you were too stubborn to die and Nebs and Jay couldn’t find anything even when they hacked into Uncle Rhodey’s work computers and -”
“Woah, hey, Resa, it’s okay, baby girl. I’m alright. I’m here,” he said calmly, putting aside the fact that his daughter and AI apparently hacked into likely classified military files for the moment. “I’m okay. I’m with Aunt Pepper and Uncle Happy right now. We’re going to go talk to those mean news people right now.”
“I thought Aunt Pepper said you were going to the hospital,” Nebula said with an annoyed growl.
“Stark, you better be on the way to a hospital right now!” Tori snapped.
“Resa, did you turn daddy on speakerphone?” he groaned, letting his head fall back.
“I thought you would want to talk to Nebs too, sorry.”
“Stark, if I call Pepper, she better tell me that you are either in perfect health or headed to the hospital.”
“I don’t need a hospital,” Tony said and Pepper looked up at him to give him a look before turning back to her work.
“J.A.R.V.I.S. and I saw your medical files,” Nebula cut in.
“Good, then you know the Air Force guys already fussed over me. Also, you two need to stop hacking the government.”
“Like you’re one to talk,” Tori snorted. “Who do you think taught them behavior like that?”
“Go to the hospital, Father. You are -”
“I’m fine. All I need is a cheeseburger.”
“I’m calling Pepper.”
Tony rolled his eyes and turned on the speakerphone. “Pepper, Tor-Tor wants to talk to you.”
“I tried,” she said before Tori could speak. “He refuses to do anything before getting a cheeseburger and holding a press conference.”
“Take him to the hospital after.”
“I’m fine! Can any of you hear me or am I talking to myself?”
“I can hear you, daddy!”
“Thanks, Resa. You’re the best!” Tony looked over to see them approaching Burger King. “Oh look, the cheeseburgers await. Nebula, Resa, I'll see you tomorrow! Give your brother my love! Love you, girls! Bye!”
“Bye, daddy! See you tomorrow! You better be there!”
“Father -”
Tony hung up the phone and handed it back to Happy.
A few minutes later Pepper smiled and showed him a text she had received.
⭐️Nebula⭐️:  J.A.R.V.I.S is calling up the doc. If he wants to act like a child, we’ll get him a pediatrician.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So this is what you call fine?” Georgia sighed, staring at the thing embedded into Dr. Stark’s chest.
“No, this is what I call an antique.” He held up a device that looked the same. “This is an upgrade. I need some help putting it in. Since you’re here anyways…”
She crossed her arms. “You know that’s not why I’m here. I read the files Nebula sent me -”
“Yeah, yeah, send me the diet plan or have Pepper pick up the meds or whatever you all seem to think I need despite the fact I’ve said I’m fine over a hundred times. Now, can we do this? The kids will be here in an hour and I’d rather not have an empty hole in my chest when they get here.”
“I’m not that type of doctor.”
“Well, my hands are too big and I think Pepper might pass out if I ask her.”
“I might,” Pepper agreed, looking pale at the idea from where she was standing next to the door to the workshop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Mom says you’ve got a battery in your chest! Can I get one too?”
“Why hello Harls. Yes, I missed you too. Sorry for missing your birthday. I love you so much.”
“Mom said you were fine. And if you’re really sorry, you’d put a battery in my chest.”
“I was kidnapped,” Tony said, and yeah that was probably not something to tell an eight-year-old, but Harley was tough and it wasn’t like he was going to bring up the torture. “Why do you even want a battery in your chest?”
“To charge things.”
“Yeah, ask your mother.”
“That’s what you say when the answer’s no, but you don’t want to be the one to tell me.”
“But if you know that, then that means I am telling you no.”
“Come on, isn’t it your job as an absentee father to spoil me?”
“Key word is absentee, meaning not there, which means no, an absentee father’s job is to not be in their child’s life at all. I’m in your life, so not an absentee father.”
“You know what I meant!”
“And you know what I meant when I told you to ask your mother. So how’s school going?”
“How’s the business going?”
“Fair enough. Want to play that online racing game you like?”
“You’re on!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Daddy!”
Tony groaned and brushed fire retardant off his face so he could look up at his daughter. “Hey, sweetheart, what are you doing in here? You know to stay behind the glass when I’m testing things.”
“You hit a wall,” she said blankly. She reached her hand over and started feeling around his head. “I have to check for bumps.”
“I’m fine,” he sighed, but didn’t fight it. He knew if he did then she’d hold it against him the next time his clumsy girl fell and he needed to check her over.
Once she was done, she stepped back and tilted her head. “Why did Dum-E spray you with the foam? Did you catch fire again?”
“No, Dum-E is being silly.”
She crossed her arms and turned to Dum-E. “Don’t waste the extinguisher,” she reprimanded, slowly pronouncing the word extinguisher.
The bot’s arm fell as he gave a sad beep.
U rolled up, showing the camera they were still holding to their favorite sibling.
She smiled and patted their claw. “Good job, U.”
Smiling at his kids’ antics, he stood up and started wiping off the rest of the foam. “Alright, next time we need to start at a lower power. And stabilizers. Those would help.”
“What are you making?” Teresa asked, leaning over to look at the boots.
“Special secret project. Don’t tell Pepper.”
She nodded without question.
Why couldn’t all his children be so well behaved?
“Can I help?” she asked, bouncing.
He shrugged. “Sure. You and Jay can run some numbers while I work on the next piece.” Most of the equations would be over her head, but J.A.R.V.I.S. would give her a few that were her level and a few above for practice. The workshop was the best place to learn, in his opinion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Careful, careful, and touchdown,” Tony cheered as he landed in the workshop.
“Very good, Sir.”
“Can I get one?”
He turned to see his daughters, the younger sitting on the back of the couch while the older was leaning against it. Teresa waved, her legs swinging, and Nebula studied him, her head tilted in that way it did when she was talking to J.A.R.V.I.S.
He lifted the faceplate and frowned at them. “What are you two doing in here? You know you’re not allowed in the workshop while I’m not here. Do the rules not mean anything anymore? Did Jay let you in?”
Nebula pointed a blue thumb at the missing glass wall.
“Right.”
“Daddy!” Teresa chirped, hoping down and running up to him. “You look so cool!”
“Thanks, Sunray. Now step back so daddy can change.”
She eagerly did so, gasping when the arms rose up to remove the suit.
Nebula walked around to face him, crossing her arms. “I thought Stark Industries was out of the military business.”
“We are. I was just… doing a bit of cleaning up.”
She hummed, but didn’t say anything and he caught her staring at the blast-mark on the faceplate.
“Nebula -”
“I want one of those,” she said, pointing at the repulsor on one of his gauntlets.
“Why?”
“Why not?”
The two stared each other down before Tony sighed. “We’ll see.”
One of the arms tugged a little too roughly on his leg.
“Careful!”
“Apologies.”
“Hey! Ow!” Tony said, giving a yelp.
“Ooh. It is a tight fit, Sir.”
He let out a hiss, pulling away from the one yanking on his arm. He saw Teresa take a step towards him, but Nebula stopped her.
“Sir, the more you struggle, the more this is going to hurt.”
Tony considered making a joke, but thought better of it when he remembered Teresa.
“I designed this to come off, so- Ow! Hey!”
“Please, try not to move, Sir.”
“What's going on here?”
The three turned to see Pepper standing just inside the workshop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nebula frowned when her music suddenly cut off. She tapped her head with a frown. “J.A.R.V.I.S., what’s going on?”
There was no response.
She tried to reach out to the intranet, but only received static. She narrowed her eyes and quietly slipped off her bed. The only reason the intranet would be down is if someone was using something to disrupt the signal.
She slipped her mask on and activated it so she could see, but didn’t bring up the disguise. She snuck out of her room and to Teresa’s door. When she opened it, her sister was curled up, half asleep.
“Nebs?” she yawned. “I’m s’eeping.”
“J.A.R.V.I.S. isn’t responding. Go into your closet and seal the door. Take your phone.”
Her eyes widened and she stumbled out of bed. “Daddy?”
“I’ll find him. Just go.”
She bit her lip, but nodded and grabbed her phone off her nightstand. Nebula waited until she heard the locks in the closet door engage before continuing down the hall. Her father’s room was empty so she headed into the living room.
“I wish you could've seen my prototype.”
Nebula frowned at the voice that was both familiar and not. She knew of Obidiah Stane, but they’d never met and she had never planned to do so. She wasn’t fond of how he tried to control Father’s life, to say the least, and she certainly understood Father's reasoning to keep her and her siblings a secret from the man.
“It's not as, uh — Well, not as conservative as yours.”
She peeked around the corner and her fists clenched.
Stane sat on the couch next to her father, one man with a briefcase on his lap and the other with a whole in his chest.
She had never wanted to put her assassin training to use on Terra before.
This man changed that, with his next words only increasing that urge.
“Too bad you had to involve Pepper in this. I would have preferred that she lived.”
Her arm let out a series of clicks as it shifted to reveal the repulsor Father had placed inside it “for emergencies only.”
She stepped out as the man walked away from Father and took a shot. Unfortunately, she wasn’t expecting the recoil and the shot flew high, just missing the man’s head.
“That was a warning shot,” she bluffed, taking aim again. “On your knees and I might not tear you to pieces.”
Stane stared at her with shook. “Well now, Tony. It seems you’ve been hiding more than I thought. And what does he call you? You’re certainly a step up from those rust buckets he insists on keeping downstairs.”
“On your knees.”
“I don’t think so.” He pulled a gun out from behind him and she froze as he pointed it at her father. “You lot have one thing in common, you won’t let any harm come to your creator. That bit of his neediness always comes through. It’s pathetic.”
Her fingers twitched to wrap around the man’s neck, but she let the repulsor tuck away and dropped her arm. “You will die for this,” she growled. “Enjoy what little life you have left.”
“I think you should be more worried about what little life he has left.” Stane slowly made his way out of the room, keeping the gun pointed at Father the whole way.
When he slipped out the door, she ached to take chase. She resisted though, rushing to her father’s side. Her hands hovered over the place the arch reactor was meant to be uncertainly. “What do I do? How do I help you? I don’t…” She looked around for the reactor before realizing Stane must have taken it with him. She reached for her arm. “Will the mini reactor work?”
“Nnn,” he slurred. “D’ns’s.”
“What did he do to you?” she hissed. He shouldn’t be this out of it this quickly just from having the reactor removed.
Carefully she picked him up and carried him down to the workshop. Immediately U and Dum-E were at her side, beeping frantically. With the intranet still disabled, though, she couldn’t understand them.
“Stane attacked Father. He removed the reactor. We need to figure out how to help him.”
U went to a bench to clean it off for her, but Dum-E went crazy, spinning around and chirping before darting away. Ignoring her brother, she went to the bench and gently set him down.
Suddenly Dum-E was at her side, shoving a glass case in her face.
“Stop it, you -” She cut off as she realized what was in the case: her father’s original reactor that Dr. Jenkins had removed with the words Proof Tony Stark has a heart carved around the rim. She laughed and pressed her forehead to her brother’s claw before smashing the glass between her hands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m coming with you!”
“No, you’re not.
“He attacked you!”
“Which is why you’re staying here. Protect your siblings.”
“But -”
“Take care of Teresa. Rhodey, keep the skies clear.”
“Father!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“The truth is… I am Iron Man.”
Teresa didn’t hear Nebula groan on the other couch or Harley start yelling on the phone. As the reporters on the tv started shouting, all he could do was stare wide-eyed at his father with pride.

...Hasbro just give us more Ratchet. It's like I'm hunting cryptids here.

TFA-Transform and roll out(recast)
a fic based on the TFA opener but with the original planned cast, with red alert and hot shot replacing ratchet and bee.
Optimus prime sat at his command seat watching the old war historical documents, longing for the supposed glory they portrayed.  Red alert, the slim red and white femme medic and second in command came up to stand behind him.
“sir, why do you insist on continuing to view outdated archives?” she asked calmly
“all the great autobot leaders learned from the past”
“but war time lessons are no longer needed.  The great war has been over for centuries, and by the will of the all-spark, it will be the last one we see”
“but don’t you wish you were there, just a little? To see what it was really like? What the decepticons were really like?”
“I have learned all I need from studies, like you should have.  And from what I’ve read of the decepticons, I’d say we’re better not knowing”
Red alert then directed optimus’ attention to the sight of the massive green autobot Bulkhead dangling from a cliff by his wrecking ball, shouting for help.
“at the moment though, I think your “soldier instincts” are needed elsewhere” she said dryly
Optimus huffed and they made their way to the cargo bay and exit ramp.
“I get it red alert, war is bad, but do you ever get the feeling that we’re programmed for more than just repairing space bridges?”
“I have a diagnostics program that erases those thoughts like a virus in a fire wall” she said with the slightest hint of sarcasm
Optimus huffed as they transformed and headed out onto the asteroid.  The hard thing about having red alert around was how monotone she could be. It was so hard to tell when she was happy, serious or snarky.  The only emotions she expressed normally were anger and annoyance, usually towards Hot Shot. Hot shot himself was hopping up the hill to try to free bulkhead, moving like a sleek blue, red and yellow streak.
“hurry up, I really hate heights” bulkhead whined
“calm down bulkhead, im working as fast as possible, and there is no bot faster than me, and you know it” he grinned
Hot shot produced his arm mounted flame throwers and shouted with excitement at unleashing a blast wave of flames on the rocks, or would have if he could produce any in the vacuum of space.  Grunting at the realization, he started banging and stomping on the rocks to free the wrecking ball, rocking its owner around.
“oh, I think im going to blow a gasket”
“calm down and try to hold it in a little long…”
Suddenly the rocks cracked and broke apart and crumbled, sending both bots falling to the ground. After they landed on each other, optimus and red alert arrived and transformed. Red alert narrowed her eye with frustration at the sight of hot shot being dinged up and in need of repairs, again.
“alright, what seems to be the problem?” optimus asked rhetorically
“the problem? The problem is that we are stuck out in the middle of nowhere crushing rocks for outdated spce bridges!” hot shot snapped
“what I don’t get is why anyone would want to transport to this allspark forsaken sector” bulkhead added
“that isn’t the point bulkhead. We have a job to do here, and no problem is insurmountable with the right tool…and a little team work”
Optimus began chopping debris with his axe and encouraged the others to join in.  bulkheads strength made crushing the rocks easy, though it was harder for hot shot to break them down, especially with his flame throwers so weak. Low level heat blast were however enough to weaken them enough to break down.  Red alert, though thinking the task below her, also helped; laser blasts from her prosthetic hand to cut through them easily.  Optimus suddenly realized that they were one crew member short.
“you to prowl…hey, where is prowl?’
Suddenly a shurikan whizzed by optimus to slice a nearby rock before returning to the hiding prowls hand.  The aloof black and gold bot then stepped from the shadows.
“just have to know the weak spot” he said with a hint of condescension
“next time, might want to give us a little more waring” optimus cautioned with and edge
“that would just mess up my timing” prowl said dismissively
Red alert turned from the others only to look up to see a smiling bulkhead, only to turn in another direction, pretending to be adjusteing he rhand emblacement.She shook her head; the conflicting personalities of their crew were creating an unproductive and hostile working environment.  This was far from the career she thought she would have.
Hot shot saw red alerts discomfort with the situation and, as always, decided to push her buttons.
“careful doc bot, if you frown any more your lower jaw is gonna detach” he smirked
She then produced a laser scalpel from her emplacement and leveled it with hotshots face.
“If that is the case then I will just have requisition your own” she said calm but in a threatening tone
“why is she so grumpy all the time?” bulkhead whispered
“you’d by grumpy to if you had one servo in the scrap heap” he smirked
Suddenly the taller femme was in his face and her tone far more harsh.
“I may have one servo in the scrap heap, but my audio receptors still work perfectly, and if you do not stop pushing me rookie, I will gladly disconnect your vocal processor” she scowled
Sensing the tension, optimus wanted to give his team something to focus on.
“ok, I know we’re stuck out here in the middle of nowhere on a thankless assignment, but remember, we’re all cogs in the great big autobot machine…”
“not this speech again” prowl moaned
He buried his face in his hand in annoyance.  Hot shot was also more visually pained by the experience.  Bulkhead and red alert where just as weary but where better at politely feigning interest.
“…a machine that’s stronger as a whole, than any one component part.  Together, we can move montains”
The speech was punctuated by sudden rumpling of rocks around them and activation of the space bridge they were clearing.  The blast of energy sent them and the debris flying in every direction.
“oh you sure have a way with words boss bot!” hot shot yelled as he tumbled away
In an impressive flurry of moves, prime utilized his axe and grappling hook to stop the debris, aid each of his team mates and shut down the space bridge.  As the dust settled and the autobots picked themselves up, they were left in awe of the unassuming prime skills.
“impressive” prowl admitted as he shut bulkheads gaped jaw
“where’d you learn moves like that?” bulkhead asked
It was a question everyone was asking inside. Red alert was busy fixing hot shots damaged shoulder but turned away to glance at optimus, wanting to hear the answer as well.
“I trained at the autobot academy” optimus ashamedly admitted
Red alert stood and her eyes narrowed skeptically.
“so, what is an academy trained bot doing leading a mere maintenance crew?”
She felt a sting fury. As the medic, she had no knowledge of this about her commander.
“well, whats one of the best medics the autobots has ever seen her also”
Red alert was viably taken aback by his knowledge and forwardness in the question.
“ooo, burn.  He got you good red.  But for real boss bot, her, I don’t think so.  The bed side manner is a little too rough around the edges. Let me guess prime, wash out? Yeah, me to.  They said I had an issue with authority, and let’s face it, they were threatened by the up and coming Magnus I am…”
Hot shots yammering was only silenced when red alert clasped her hand tightly over his mouth.  Optimus was suddenly drawn to an otherworldly light emanating from a rock. Against the advice of his crew, he cleaves it with his axe, revealing a strange glowing artifact.
“what is it?” bulkhead spoke up
“don’t know…maybe we should take it back to the ship so the doc bot can check it out”
No rebuttal or argument came from red alert, who just look at it completely astounded, almost mesmerized.
“red alert..?”
“telatraan 1 to optimus prime. Unidentified spacecraft entering this sector: Energy signature consistent with decepticon warship”
“decepticon, that must be a mistake. The decpeticons were destroyed centuries ago” optimus voiced
“Defeated in battle, not destroyed.  An “academy bot” should know that prime. We should get back to the ship immediantly”
“but what is that thing?”
“I have a wild theory but we must secure it first”
Red alert quickly transformed and had the artifact loaded into her alt mode and sped off towards the ship, with the others following behind her. They quickly boarded their ship and made full speed away from the new ship. In the cargo bay the artifact was unloaded and red alert began examining it franticly.
“red alert, any idea what it is”
“you seem to be the historian prime, does the all-spark sound familiar”
“obviously.  The most powerful energy source in the universe. It gave the spark of life to all cybertronian”
“every bot knows that story” bulkhead groaned
“yeah, along with spark eaters and were-turbo foxes” hot shot joked
“According to records, one of the main reasons the great war was won was by ensuring the all spark remained out of decepticon reach.  It was reportedly sent through a spacebridge to be hidden in some unknown corner of the galaxy”
“incredible” optimus admitted
“so your saying we, of all bots in the universe, found the all spark?!” hot shot shook
“perhaps, it found us” optimus mused
“Unlikely, prime. It is merely and energy source of unknown magnitude, But I must admit I never thought I would ever see it.  The research and knowledge I could gleam by examining it could be…”
“warning: spacecraft approaching. Positive identification as decepticon warship.
“it isn’t the only one that’s found us” prowl said dryly
The crew got to their bridge positions and made all speed for autobot controlled territory. Prowl checked the scanners for the persuing ship.
“it’s following us” he reported
“you desired to see the decepticons up close, well looks like you’ve gotten your wish” red alert said dryly
Optimus frowned at the statement, realizing the irony in the situation.
“yo, tell me this aint actually happening.  We are not getting chased by decepticons.  We’re just a maintenance crew” hot shot complained
“we cannot out run them forever, and any attempts at combat are astronomical” red alert commented
“not without back they aren’t.  patch me through to cybertron command head quarters” optimus ordered
“wow, when you want back up you go straight to the top” bulkhead commented
Optimus smiled at the compliment, slightly savoring his memories in the original field. Red alert raised a skeptical brow, confused on how optimus could even have clearance to high command. The creen lit up with the large chin and blue armor of sentinel prime.  Red alert was even more shocked, knowing vry well that sentinel was second in command of the elite guard.
“optimus prime, you mean they still let you command other autobots” sentinel smugly smiled
“don’t start sentinel, just put me through to altra magnus”
Red alert was surprised again, that optimus apparently knew sentinel personally, but also thinks he could talk to the supreme leader of the autobots simply by asking.
“now how could a third rate rock buster possibly merit the autobot supreme commanders attention?” sentinel said dismissively
Red alert and the others all frowned.  Word was known that sentinel prime was an unlikable bot, but seeing his condescension first hand was fuel boiling.  Hot shot frowned up at the prime, having had past experience with him, getting and itchy trigger finger with his flame throwers.  However, optimus’ experience with the other prime was far more personal, and was having none of sentinel attitude under these circumstances.
“display cargo hold visual” optimus ordered
Red alert clicked few controls and a video feed was brought up for sentinel to see of the allspark. His look and temperament immediately changing, he casually patched them through. Red alert turned and gave optimus and approving smirk at his clever maneuvering. Suddenly and stern looking and aged blue bot appeared on the screen. His eye briefly glanced to register red alerts presence before focusing on optimus.
“ultra magnus here optimus, we’re tracking your decepticon signal; probably just a lost scout ship. Ever since we drove them off cybertron, the cons have been wondering the periphery. They’d never be so foolish as to invade autobot space. Still, I’m sending out a strike force to intercept if necessary.  In the meantime, you and your bots just sit tight. And prime, don’t try to be a hero, it’s not in your programming” the commander finished his orders before the screen went black
“decepticons still on our tail and closing in fast” prowl reported from the scanners
“then were the flag are they?” hot shot pointed out
Getting antsy and a nervous feeling in his spark, optimus began typing orders into his control panel.
“telatraan 1, set a course for the nearest space bridge” he ordered
“but Ultra magnus said to sit tight” bulkhead questioned
“with all due respect, ultra magnus isn’t carrying the all spark”
Red alert couldn’t argue with the logic; sitting there would be poor solution in the circumstances. The ship did as commanded and came about quickly to head back to the space bridge they were previously dicked with.
“so, we’ll make a V line for the nearest space bridge and blast through whatever debris is in our way” he ordered
As they made their way through the thin asteroid field, their path was suddenly blocked as massive fearsome purple war ship rose to block them.  Red alert qickly calculated that it appeared to be at least 50 times larger than their repair ship.
“uh, boss bot, I don’t think we can blast through that” bulkhead said nervously
“oh slag” hot shot squeaked
“I’ve never seen a decepticon ship up close” bulkhead added
“according to archives, none have and lived” red alert admitted with a bit of depression in her voice
Optimus scanned it and ran it through the information archives, and red alert leaned over to see his result.
“it’s a command ship, I recognize the markings from the history vids” optimus announced flatly
Red alert read the same description on his screen and turned to look at the enemy with visual distress
“megaron” she added in shock
“hooooo, hold an astro sec; megatron, as in the cruel and merciless decepticon leader?  The bot they say is bigger than ultra magnus, that could single handedly destroy whole ships and city blocks.  The megatron that is said to eat autobot protoforms for breakfast, that megatron?”
“yes.  Though I do not put much faith in the protoform eating part” red alert said with a straight face
Hot shot scowled at her condescension; he hated being looked down on by other bots. The only bot he liked looking down at him was bulkhead, and that was only because he was taller than him.
“quit giving him a hard time doc” bulkhead voiced out
“and perhaps who should quit enabling his belligerent behavior” prowl turned to bulkhead
“enough arguing, all of you! We have a more serious situation here; why aren’t that attacking”
“there are any number of reasons or strategies.  But, why are we not also mobile, should we not attmpt to flee or out maneuver them?” red alert asked
“if we do they will counter, but we will let them make the first move so we can counter. Always let your adversary be the first to make a mistake” he answered calmly
Clearly optimus’ time in the elite guard training had done more for his leadership skills than she had previously noticed. Suddenly one of the decepticon ships’ cannons trained on them and fired. Optimus ordered the ship to take evasive maneuvers and they dodged the blast. Red alert felt an increasing feeling of fear and fury rise in her.  It was a decepticon booby trap in the last days of the war when she was a very young medic that had taken her original right hand.  No she felt slight panic at being so close to such conflict again.  Optimus fell on his command console and made an order that secretly surprised the medic.
“activate emergency defense system; codename: omega”
Red alert was shocked. Optimus’ knowledge of that part of the ship less so; he was the commander and likely knew of the ships history, but that he would actually attempt to activate it.
“im sorry; this function has been disabled in compliance with cybertrons ongoing efforts to conserve energon” telatraan 1 reported back
“what?!” optimus gasped
Another energy blast grazed the side of the ship and knocked the autobots about as the ship automatically swerved to avoid other attacks and rocketed past the larger vessel.
“we’re as good as dead aren’t we? Oh god this is it for us, for me”
Hot shot went into a brief panic, his wrist spouting  flames as a sign of his distress. The calmed as they managed to pass the decepticons and get by them, the larger ship slowely following and continue to fire.
“was does it feel like they’re just toying with us?” hot shot asked
“all shots appear to be targeted to disable us, not destroy us, why? Red alert added
“because they want the allspark and don’t want to risk destroying it with us” optimus frowned
“warning: asteroid field. Initiated alternate route” the computer announced
“override” optimus ordered it
The ship continued its course, swerving all about to avoid he asteroids that the continued enemy fire simply shredded through.  The decepticon ship sped up and came to briefly look over them, yet its laser blasts had stopped.  Near the ships midsection a small space craft appeared and closed in on them.  Optimus realized that it wasn’t a craft but an alternate mode.  He knew from his studies that many of the decepticons had flight capabilities and alternate modes.  Thye zzomed in on the object with their rear security cameras and suddenly saw it transform into a tall, bulky and fearsome grey bot. A large weapon, the legendary fusion cannon, sat on their arm and a cold scowl on his face when the image zoomed in.
“is that megatron?” optimus gasped
The shock and horror were shared by the whole crew.
“you never said he was so big” the already big bulkhead spoke up
“you never said he could fly” hot shot added
“technically, we didn’t say anything” red alert answered the comments
Megatron came by and zoomed past the side of their ship then vanished from view.  The all braced yet no attack came
“huh, guess he wasn’t coming for us” bulkhead piped up
The ship was suddenly rocked from above. Megatron had perched atop their control room and was burning a hole through with his cannon.
“red, seal the hull breach. Prowl, hold the ship steady.  Bulkhead, hot shot, guard the allspark.  I’ll try to hold off megatron!”
“but we’re just a repair crew, we aren’t built for this kind of action!” hot shot shouted
“then consider this an upgrade” optimus answered
“that is not how upgrades work, just for the record” red alert spoke up
The younger bots ran off out of the room while the others did their jobs.  Using a security cam for guidance, he took direct control of the hulls external arms and took hold of megatron himself, grabbling with him and attempting to prey him off the ship. There was a sudden a sudden massive external explosion that rocked the ship and sent everyone sprawling.  The ship was badly damaged and sent into an uncontrolled dive towards the space bridge asteroid.
“warning: hull breach. Sealing hatches alpha, omega and epsilon” the computer reported
As the large smoking hole in the ceiling was sealed and extinguishers put out the flames, optimus struggled to see through the fading layer of smoke and get up and get to the controls.
“warning: planetary impact imminent” the computer came again
“go to manual override” optimus ordered
“can you do that?” prowl question
“all ships of this “make” do” red alert answered
A set of control handles released and optimus took hold of them, attempting to steady the ships plunge. He managed to pull up their trajectory and glide along the asteroid surface towards the space bridge. In the hold, bulkhead and hot shot began to panic as the all spark began to react and glow.
“what’s it doing, make it stop!” hot shot panicked
“whoa”  was all bulkhead could say
Suddenly its energy burst out and enveloped the entire ship. The energy also surged forth and activated the space bridge, and in another burst of light the ship passed through it. After the light faded they autobots began recovering to see they had materialized over a moon that circled a green and blue planet.
“prowl, red alert, everyone alright? Bulkhead, hot shot, report”
Optimus did not see a large figure loom behind him until it took hold of him and pinned him against the wall; Megatron had survived and gotten through the hull breach.  He was far more intimidating in person; dark grey and red colors, thick spiky armor built for combat and twice the size of optimus. His face bore burning red optics and a frown so grim it would give the necrobot chills.  At closer inspection, the blast had destroyed most of his right arm, only his upper arm, stripped to its bare structure, remained.
“the all spark, where is it” he spoke in deep raspy voice like death
Prowl and red alert, overcoming their fear of the warlord, charged to tackle him.  Prowl jumped onto his arm to try and get optimus free while red alert clung to his side and lasered him with her hand tool. The larger bot swung about, knocking them away. He pinned prowl under his foot while still holding optimus and held him against another wall.
“I grow impatient” megatron growled
Optimus shot his grabbling hook best them towards the control panel, switching a lever.
“artificial gravity diabled” the computer announced
They all began to float freely and with his massive size rendered moot, optimus managed to free himself and force megatron away.
“clever strategy prime, giving us more of an equal advantage” red alert commented
Megatron floated near the ceiling and jammed his arm nub into a gap in the metal to steady himself. Suddenly hot shot and bulkhead came floating intot he room
“hey, I’m a land bot not a flying bot, who turned off the hey…”
Hot shot twas then dinged from behind by the larger bulkhead.
“sorry, my bad” he groaned
Hot shot was sent spiraling out of control until he hit a surface; megatron large leg.  The autobot car looked up to see the massive decepticon leader staring down at him.
“you cons are even creepier in person” he smirked
Megatron growled, not amused and past his boiling point, drew his sword from subspace and began slashing at the diminutive nescience.
“oh slag, scarier to! Someone help, im to good looking to be scrap!”
“everyone, get into position for a concentrated attack on my signal” optimus whispered
Prowl then whizzed past optimus in a solo attack on megatron.
“prowl no, wait for my signal!”
Optimus went to grab him but his hand passed through him; it was one pf prowls holograms.  Meagtron did not know this though and slashed at the allusion and thus missed the real prowl attack him from behind.  Prowl slashed with his shurikan, severing the nub that remained of megatrons damaged arm as well as his anchor from the gravity distortion. The decepticon leader roared in pain as he began to free float through the room.
“ok, the decoy was a nice touach, but once again, a little warning would’ve helped!” optimus groaned
Optimus was then bashed from behind by an out of control bulkhead
“would it kill you bots to say something like heads up or, I don’t know, watch out or…”
“incoming!” red alert yelled
She had grabbed the severed section of meagtron arm and hurled it back at him, knocking the decepticon back and into the control panel.  This caused the engines to kick on and their ship drove towards the planet, heating as it entered the atmosphere. The forward thrust and sudden return of gravity sent the autobots slamming into the walls. Optimus however was sent sliding down the main corridor towards the cargo hold.  Red alert saw that megatron followed after him.  She knew he would need help and wanted to follow but had to ensure the others were alright first.  It would take all of them to hold off megatron. Landing in the cargo hold, optimus had barely come to a hault when megatrons foot crushed down on his upper body.  He looked up to see the warlord looming over him, sword in hand, so tall that his face looked as if it were in shadow.
“now bring me the all spark, and I may spare your miserable autobot lives” he sneered
Megatron brought his sword to cut through optimus, who blocked the blow with his axe.  The struggled against each other’s strength until a bright light caught megatron attention. It was the all spark, the treasure of his millions of Steller cycles of searching.  His foe distracted, optimus saw his chance and extended his axes handle to its limit, which managed to hit its target, the exit ramp control panel.
“docking tunnel deployed” the computer deployed
The tunnel extended out and opened, and a torrent of suction and pressure overwhelmed the room and the two bots were pulled out through the shaft.  Optimus slowed his exit by digging his axe blade into the wall.  Megatron had lost his sword and under threat of falling out, reached to grab at optimus to save himself. Knowing megaton would still be a threat to them all and the all spark, optimus knew what he had to do and forced the decepticon away with a hard kick. He heard the spark chilling roar megatron let out as he fell from the tunnel, super heating into a fatle projectile in the atmosphere.  Optimus watched until the fiery form disappeared from sight and prayed it was the end of the enemy.
“telatraan 1, close docking bay” he ordered
“closing docking bay” I replied
As the bay shut and optimus freed his axe, he weakly made his way back to ensure the all spark was secure. Thankfully, it was safe and undamaged by the battle.
“optimus, do you read me?” red alert came over the coms
“im here red, what is it?”
“are you alright, where is meagtron?”
“gone.  Whats the situation?”
“the ships out of control and caught in the planets gravity.  We’re going down”
“ill be right there”
Optimus staggered back down the corridor towards the control room, getting banged around with the turbulence of their planetary entry.
“warning: planetary impact imminent” the computer reported
Optimus made it to the head when he saw from the view that time was short.
“everyone into the stasis pods” he ordered
Each of the other autobots made their way into their stasis pods, but hot shot spun around to see optimus wasn’t joining them.
“aren’t you coming boss bot?”
“not until I’ve steered us clear of this populated sector!”
He took hold of the controls and directed the ship over the alien buildings.  The others looked to optimus until their pods closed and activated, sending them all into stasis. Finally, as the ship dropped lower and lower, optimus cleared the city and the ship was set to land in a large natural body of water. Satisfied that them and the natives were save, optimus locked the controls and rushed into his own stasis pod. The last sight he saw was the skim of water over the ship as it splashed down and sunk into the depths.  He was left to wonder how long until telatraan 1 wound be able to reactivate them as everything went dark and he slipped into stasis.

Quid Pro Quo #12: Secrets Shared, Secrets Withheld
Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
Silence lingered over the interior of the Jaguar as the two extra mechs on board absorbed the tale. Nighthawk had slimmed it down significantly: omitting the events of the Rising Star and referring to it only briefly as a “rogue vessel.” He didn’t even tell them where Blackout had bridged to. As much as it pained him, he had to be careful. Telling them too much was another risk he just wasn’t willing to take.
“So the big guy’s still kickin’, huh?” Mustang murmured from where he leaned against the ship’s wall, arms crossed over his chest. Axleshot leaned forward in the chair he was occupying, resting his elbows on his knees as he clasped his servos in front of himself. He frowned at the floor.
“You don’t trust us.”
“I beg your pardon?”
Axle looked up at him, optic ridges knitting together.
“Come on, Nighthawk. You love telling stories. But now you’re skimping out on the details. You don’t trust us enough to tell us the full story.”
Nighthawk sighed, long and low, glancing down at the dragon-mech sitting on the floor beside him. They shared a look.
“…You’re right. I don’t. I’m sorry, Axleshot, but we’ve endured too much to take that kind of risk.”
“…I understand,” the green mech said softly after a moment, straightening back up. He took it in stride, but the look in his optics told them he was hurt.
“So. Now you, Infy, and Tall-Dark-and-Scary are deserters, lookin’ for some little transporter in all the galaxy. Why, again? Y'all are obviously fine by yerselves,” Mustang interjected, interrupting before the pause could linger into awkward silence.
"Unfinished business. That's all I can say: the story isn't mine to tell," Nighthawk answered, earning a soft huff from the black-and-gray mech. Silence then fell over the group, an awkward pause as they all struggled to come up with something to say. It was Axleshot who finally spoke up.
"I have to confess, I thought it was odd when Blackout was reported offline, too, but I didn't dwell too much on it. But now that you say it, I kinda wish I had. If I'm honest... this war hasn't felt right in a long time. And if Megatron's really gone off the deep end-"
"He has," Infiltrator put in, his tone icy enough to earn looks before Axleshot continued.
"Then the cause isn't much of a cause anymore, is it?"
“...Never did care much one way or the other,” Mustang muttered after a moment, finally looking up at the others. “Sided with ol’ Megs ‘cause Axle did. Bot, Con... didn’t really matter to me, just wanted somethin’ worth fightin’ for. Ain’t much of that left.”
“So what do you intend to do now?” Nighthawk asked calmly, leaning back a little more in his chair as he steepled his long digits in his lap.
“...I don’t know,” Axleshot admitted honestly, fidgeting. “There’s not much we can do. I mean... I don’t know if running away from the Malevolence is the best idea for us...”
“Probably wasn’t the best idea for us, either,” the medic murmured, a look of guilt clouding his optics as he glanced down at Infiltrator. The dragon-mech met his gaze with furrowed optic ridges, laying a paw against Nighthawk’s leg.
“Boss...”
“We can’t go back now. But you two can. I know you never cared much for my advice-”
Mustang muttered something under his breath.
“What was that?”
“Nothin’.”
Nighthawk gave a low rumble in his chest, obviously not buying it, but chose to forgive the interruption and continue.
“-especially when I tell you boys not to do something, but I suggest not doing anything rash.”
“Ya mean like what happened at-” Mustang stopped in his tracks at the looks he received from both Axleshot and Infiltrator, his dental bands clicking together from the force with which he shut his mouth. Nighthawk let out a long, slow breath, speaking through gritted dentals as he replied;
“We agreed never to talk about Tyger Pax.”
“I- I’m sorry, doc, it just- it slipped out, I didn’t mean to-”
“Forget it, Mustang. I know what you meant. Now you two listen to me. Do not run off. You are safer and better off with the Malevolence. Do not put yourselves in unnecessary danger: you will find other ways to make things right, if that is the path you choose to follow. Trust me on that much, if nothing else.”
Mustang and Axleshot shared a long, silent look, before turning back to the medic and his assistant.
“We will.”
“I mean it, Axleshot. Promise me you two will not put yourselves in danger because of what I’ve told you,” he pressed, his optic ridges knitting together as he looked between them.
“...I promise, Nighthawk.”
“You got it, doc. We swear.”
Nighthawk released a soft sigh of relief.
“Good. Now I must let you both go. I don’t want to keep you away from the Malevolence too long,” he said, rising to his feet. The others did the same, Infiltrator’s side pressing against his leg to offer support. The medics led he way to the ship’s primary hatch, opening it to walk them both outside.
“You should lay low until the Malevolence leaves. If one of the others catches either of you, I don’t think they’ll be too sympathetic,” Axleshot advised, turning to meet Nighthawk’s gaze as they stepped out.
“Of course, Axle. We will.”
“And Nighthawk?”
“Hmm?”
“Stay safe, okay?”
He let out a soft, dry chuckle, patting the engineer on the shoulder. “I’ll do my best. The same to you. Both of you.”
“It was good to see you again, doc. You too, Infy,” Mustang added, reaching to pat the dragon on the head and getting a whack instead. Infiltrator stuck his glossa out at him teasingly as he gave the small mech a dramatic look of hurt, tipping his helm at them. “Aww. Now you take good care of Grumpy here, ey?” he teased, laughing a little as the older mech in question gave him a hearty shove that almost sent him on his aft.
“If anyone needs to be taken care of, it’s you, you big buffoon.”
Axleshot just chuckled at their playful fighting, shaking his head. “Don’t worry, I’ll keep him out of trouble. Farewell, Nighthawk. Goodbye, Infy.”
Another murmured chorus of farewells from everyone, and the two grounders gave them a comical salute before turning on their heels to transform. Through the growling of their engines as they drove away, they could hear Mustang call out to his partner.
“Last one there’s a rusting aft rat!”

Guardian At Rest - 2
Hours turned to days and days to months after that. School was now out for the summer, meaning the children were over a lot more. In that time, they got to watch Ratchets belly grow. It was something they never thought they would get to see for many reasons, the main being, it was Ratchet. They did enjoy it though. Especially Valerie. It was really cool for her to know her guardian was making a new life, especially in this time.
Ratchet had grown to be a bit different since seeing Valerie. He wasn't nearly as grumpy as before (even though he tried to be) and he always felt the need to keep things clean and organized around the base. Hell he even had a desire to protect the humans and interact with them way more. It was very odd to see him like this, but everyone enjoyed it.
"Ha! I win again Miko!" Val cheered and raised the controller in the air. "Still the undefeated!"
"You haven't played against Raf yet." Jack scoffed. Both he and Miko had lost against Valerie and weren't happy about it. "Maybe he'll win."
Val looked over to the boy, who seemed to be more interested in his computer at the moment. She didn't want to play against him anyway. She would feel too bad if she won. "Maybe next time. The boy seems a bit busy."
"Doing what? It's summer break!" Miko half passed her friend.
"Actually Miko, I'm doing some research for Ratchet while he makes some things for his sparkling." Raf suddenly said. "So I am rather busy."
Val smirked and set down her controller. "See? Undefeated until them."
"Scrap!" Ratchet suddenly hissed from his spot over at the groundbridge.
All the children turned their attention to the Autobot medic, who had a servo rested over his swollen middle. He didn't stop working though.
"You okay doc bot?" Miko asked, walking to the rail to see him better.
"Yes yes yes, just fine." Ratchet answered quickly.
A small clink was suddenly heard. It wasn't super loud but not loud enough to be heard far distances away. Ratchet's servo almost instantly started to rub over his belly.
"Is it kicking?" The Japanese girl asked.
Ratchet looked up to the humans, who all had gathered near Miko. "I cannot say if it is a kick or a punch. They are most likely just shifting."
Valerie smiled at that. "Does it feel weird?"
The bot looked to them before nodding. "A bit. I was never expecting to experience this."
Raf looked at him. "C-can I feel?" He asked, a hand reaching out to Ratchet.
His face plates turned a slight blue almost instantly. He was already awkward about the whole situation. "U-um…"
"If not i-its okay." The youngest child stuttered.
"N-no. You can." It was almost too soon of a reaction but it was too late to go back. "Just...step on." He extended his servo to the human, letting him on.
Raf was a bit hesitant but eventually got on, sitting on Ratchet's palm. The Autobot seemed to be extra careful as he slowly brought the human close to his tummy. "Just, please be careful."
The human nodded and gently put his hands on the bump. At first, there seemed to be nothing, as if the little one inside went still, but soon, a little clink was heard and Raf's face lit up. "I-it kicked!"
"Wow. I guess Ratchet really is pregnant." Miko joked.
Valerie laughed a bit before looking to her guardian. He looked genuinely happy.
"Yes Miko. I am indeed."
