My thoughts while watching…
Tumblr media
It was a ✨trainwreck✨.
But… I didn’t mind it.
I’ve read the book, but i knew going into this that I had to separate the two works because then i’d end up pissed and irritated. I think it was a good call? the movie definitely leaves out a lot of the good juicy stuff from the books, but it’s got its own strengths.
Let’s get into it:
Agatha’s a good character. I think they might have missed the mark with her personality a bit though, cause she was the pettiest b!tch in the books. But i guess it works better with the movie’s vibe. and sofia wylie is actually gorgeous, i love her
Sophie was freaking perfect. i loved her character, miss sophia anne acted her ass off, and it paid off. Her character was better in the movie, imo. Don’t get me wrong, i loved sophie in the books, but they basically removed everything i didn’t like about her in the books out. so yes, love it.
Tedros was better than the book Tedros, but the bar was so low. it’s not that i didn’t like him, it’s just that the only times i really enjoyed him on screen was when he was with sophie or agatha. he had chemistry with both, i guess but his personality needed work. wanting “a girl that’s different from the rest” is not a personality trait netflix.
JUSTICE FOR GREGOR. that shit pissed me off!!! that man made me laugh more than everyone else, and they just killed him off for what 🤨
rafal is hot. his motivations were kind of confusing, but he fine so i gave him a pass
Lesso, Dovey, and Anemone were the best characters in the movie. there i said it. i guess getting older (i’m like 19 but whatever) means enjoying the adults in these movies more than them ratchet kids.
Ok, now the movie itself. If u had read the books before hand, it was maybe a lil disappointing, but over all it was pretty ok. if not, it was a little confusing.
that reverse uno ms. sophie served with the prom at the end of the movie was such a SERVE in the books. in the movie, i felt it was less impactful, which sucked.
The movie was over two hours long, but it still felt like it was missing so much of the story. I think this type of story requires a show. It needed more time to marinate.
I liked the relationship between agatha and sophie here. it didn’t feel forced, which was nice. the changes they made to the beginning of the story did wanders for their relationship, i think.
the side characters were good. unsurprisingly the ones at the school of evil were better by far. but i needed more of them. i loved hester, anadil, dot, and hort in the books. i feel like i barely got to see them :(
Lastly, am i the only one who thought the movie was a lil… heteronormative? Although Sophie and Agatha aren’t a couple in the books, there was always a… romantic undertone when it came to them. Maybe it’s just me, maybe i’m grasping here, but I needed a bit more gay 🤷🏾‍♀️
overall: 7/10. maybe 7.5 if u squint
P.S. Netflix needs to stop using these, quite frankly tired tracks for these movies. who else is lowkey sick of hearing olivia rodrigo or billie eilish every time a character decides to be a girl boss??? there are so many other perfectly good songs to use.
P.P.S. charlize come home the kids miss you.

"Why did I click that link?!" (Yandere Ghibli x Reader)
𝕴𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖉𝖚𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓
"I should really do my schoolwork. But I suppose one movie wouldn't hurt." Y/N yawned as they grabbed the remote, paying no mind to the ever-growing notifications of the deadlines for their schoolworks blaring on their laptop.
'I'll do it, tomorrow. In the morning...'  They groaned, It was pretty late at night, so they needed a break.
Scrolling through Netflix' assortment of movies, they noticed that their favorite Ghibli Movie was no longer available in Netflix, to their dismay. They sighed, and thought of another way to watch it. An idea popped up in their head, albeit not a smart one. "Guess it's time to use those sketchy websites F/N suggested..." They groaned, reaching out for their laptop with the little energy they have left.
They scrolled through the various links in Google, most of them had a purple hue, due to Y/N's past habits with watching with those sites. They knew very well that although they had the movie they were looking for, they would be bombarded with pop-ups and weird ads in their face. Plus, The last site gave Y/N's laptop a really bad virus, so that was a no for them.
They eventually chose a site that seemed safe, and searched for their desired movie. Luckily for them, it was available. They muttered out a small 'yes!' in excitement, and clicked the movie. Surprisingly, It started a few seconds after clicking, no weird ads, no buffers, and no random singles in your area. Y/N started to watch the movie with a contented smile.
While watching the movie, Y/N felt off. Normally, they would have focused on the movie, but they felt like something was wrong. This lingering aura surrounded them, leaving a sour taste in their mouth. They brushed it off, and kept their eyes on the film.
Their eyes drooped, and they started to feel light-headed. Is this their body's way of saying 'GO TO SLEEP RIGHT NOW YOU LITTLE-' or was it something more sinister? As the movie went on, the tiring feeling slowly consumed them bit by bit, until they fell asleep on the table. With the movie still playing, the laptop gave out sparks, and turned off by itself. A shadowy figure grinned at them, and closed the laptop. A bright blue mist covered the figure and Y/N, and they were gone in a flash. Leaving only their laptop and unfinished schoolworks behind.

(well, some of them-)
Howl Jenkins Pendragon
"Careful. Haven't you heard the rumors about me?"
"I'm just keeping you out of harm's way. Isn't that what lovers do?"
Prince Justin
"Ah, hello! Are you one of Howl's companions?"
"He already has Sophie, now it's my time to take your heart."
Haku
"You shouldn't be here. It's too dangerous."
"No spirit will ever separate us apart. I'll make sure of it.."
Lin
"Wait, you're that human who came out of nowhere!"
"Say, you're not bad. For a human, I guess."
Ashitaka
"You want to come with me? No. It's too risky for you."
"You should've stayed at the village."
San
"Intruder! Are you affiliated with that evil woman?"
"You shouldn't leave, stay with me."
Lady Eboshi
" Are you acquainted with that wolf girl, perhaps?"
"Whoever stands in my way for your love, shall be eliminated. I assure you."
Kaguya-hime (platonic)
"You're just like me. You're not from here, are you?"
"I must take you to the moon with me, If it means keeping you safe from them. Forever."
Sutemaru
"Little Bamboo's friend, right? Nice to meet you."
"It's a blessing for me to have met you, now we can leave this all behind!"
Prince Ishitsukuri
"You're saying that Princess Kaguya chose a peasant like you, over me?"
"I will worship the ground you walk on, and I humbly request you to be my partner for evermore."
Middle Counselor Isonokami
"What did Princess Kaguya see in you?"
"No treasure measures how much my heart longs for you."
The Mandrake
"You're not her, and you never will be."
"......."
And we welcome you, dear reader, to the beautiful world of Studio Ghibli!
(i dunno if this'll ever have a chapter 1, but comment below which movie you want Y/N to port to first lmao)

Wait they did *what* in the School for good and evil movie???
Assuming this is about my tags on a different previous post (because I can't tell what else it could be),
in the books, Sophie and Agatha are pretty much on equal ground as main characters, both of them have arcs that wrap around each other, both are flawed and both work to overcome those flaws. Sophie believes she is meant to be princess because she is beautiful and works to be perfect, ignoring that she is mean-hearted and literally only befriended Agatha, the "ugly" and lonely outcast girl, as a "good deed." Agatha is humble to the point of self-deprecating, not believing that it's possible for her to be a hero, and spends most of the book wanting only to go home (and working towards that goal), while Sophie's only goal is to switch schools so she can attend the School for Good and become a princess, and get a kiss from Prince Tedros, and ends up blaming Agatha for them landing in the "wrong schools" taking all this chance away from her.
That's not what happens in the movie.
The movie... racebent Agatha (casted Sofia Wylie, a biracial actress), left Sophie white, erased all of Sophie's flaws, even gave her a mean stepmother character (who was not mean in the books) and pretty much the movie all about Sophie??? Like she actually is a sweet and lovely princess put in the wrong school, only turning "evil" by the work of Lady Lesso (also got her personality axed) and Rafal (who is. something else entirely, but I'm not going to get into that now.) The movie pretty much erases Agatha's wish-granting powers AND a key scene from the books (where Agatha, who believes she's ugly, is comforted by Professor Dovey to see that she was always beautiful).
This movie also screwed up the timeline harshly (so no hope of adapting the two other books in the trilogy.)
I'm sorry for rambling but there is. SO MUCH. That is weird in this adaptation. I'm not even one of those "adaptations must stick as closely as possible to the books!!!!!" people, I can enjoy adaptations as separate from the movies, but by the sheer fact that Agatha is biracial and had her character reduced in favor of Sophie's story... does not look good.

Spoiler free review, spoilers below cut
I just watched the School for Good and Evil movie and wow
Overall, I’m pretty disappointed. It was a fun watch, don’t get me wrong, it was fun picking out familiar characters and seeing them on screen, and the story is alright, but it just felt… lacking? Like most of the characters go unnamed, and it’s frustrating for people who have read the books and enjoy those side characters. The plot also felt very rushed. I watched it with my mom, who has never touched the books, and she said she felt like she was missing some context at certain parts, like some scenes and reasonings didn’t quite make sense yet.
And the CGI was pretty inconsistent? Like in some scenes it would be incredible and others it looked very… choppy? Idk, it felt like it was changing styles every two seconds.
However, I do think that despite the rough storyline (which is still alright) the actors did the best they could with what they were given. And the costumes were absolutely gorgeous.
There’s still a few nitpicky things but I don’t really feel like typing it all out cuz it’s late and I’m tired. ALTHOUGH I am going to rant about the characters and cut scenes from the book now, so spoilers below.
oh boy oh boy do I have complaints:
WHERE WAS THE WONDERFUL GORGEOUS AMAZING SCENE BETWEEN AGATHA AND DOVEY ABOUT AGATHA REALIZING SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL???? Reading that scene as a kid literally brought me to tears bc I was super self-conscious about myself, and it is my favorite scene in the entire series. AND ITS NOT THERE? 1568 wounded and 182 dead.
speaking of Agatha, while I love Sofia wylie, she was?? Too pretty?? like whenever the other characters would call her “witch” or “ugly” it just didn’t land bc she was literally gorgeous. And she blended in too well with the Evers, the whole point is she’s an outsider, she sticks out, but she fit right in. Wasnt goth enough :<
wth was the “blood magic” crap. Like huh
NO SWAN SYMBOLS ON UNIFORMS??? Like they even include the school insignia in the beginning, WHATS THE POINT IF THERES NO SWANS
while I can appreciate the chemistry that they gave tedros and agatha in the movie, I really wish that they had included more rivalry. Bc those two literally hated each other in the books.
Also Sophie talked about tedros being her “true love” for like two seconds and then it was pushed to the side. Like. He’s kinda the reason she goes full evil and all, but their relationship was just?? Nonexistent. Like she wears a few good outfits and suddenly their testing their love for each other in the trial by tale.
trial by tale was done DIRTY. Instead of being a massive school-wide competition between schools, they turned it into some flimsy tophie thing that literally only lasted like 10 minutes tops. That was such a big deal in the book pls
WHERE IS SIR AUGUST SADER??? MY MANS WHO HAD AGATHAS BACK.
They were missing so many characters???? Like Castor and Pollux and Uma and the BEAST FROM THE DOOM ROOM WHICH IS A WHOLE OTHER RANT. Also a BUNCH of the characters just. Go unnamed. Like do they even introduce Kiko or Chad. And even the characters who are seem so bland and forgettable.
THE BEAST. THE DOOM ROOM. THE WONDERFUL SCENE WHERE YOU SEE SOPHIE’S TRUE EVIL. GONE. Like what was that.
Where were anadil’s rats??? How hard is it to get rats???
also anadil and dot seemed way too similar. And Hester’s character was inconsistent. Also dot not being played by a larger actor lowkey bugs me.
Sophie did NOT get to be evil enough smh
CIRCUS OF TALENTS ANYONE HELLOOOOO????
I know they kinda revealed what happens to failed students but not revealing that theyre the werewolves and fairies was so disappointing.
I cant believe we didn’t get Sophie singing T^T it’s not a big issue, but I still wanted to include it bc Sophia ann Caruso (her actor) was literally ON BROADWAY. My girl can SING. LET HER SHOW OFF.
no pink fingerglow for sophie :<
RAFAL IN GENERAL? Like what was that. He just walks around school disguised as his brother? Casually jump scares Agatha?? NO MASK?? genuinely upset me
also not really a criticism to the movie, but watching it on screen made me realize how creepy rafal and Sophie’s relationship actually is. Like. Yikes.
Upset that Yuba didn’t get enough spotlight
Also I wish they got the chance to show off the “room of champions” or whatever it was for both schools. Or Arthur’s menagerie. But I can live without it.
Sophie and Agatha not knowing about the schools in the beginning?? Like huh?? Sophie has dreamed about going there her whole life what do you meannnn
Honora being mean to Sophie rubbed me the wrong way. Like she’s supposed to be a very plain and nice woman, and I felt like Sophie still disliking her despite that gave Sophie’s character more depth
WHERE. ARE. THE. DREAMS. The nemesis dreams, Agatha’s true live dreams, WHERE ARE THEY? they could have helped explain so much for why Sophie was just suddenly like “oh yeah you’re my nemesis” and tedros declaring his love. Also they DIDNT talk about nemesis symptoms at all. At least that I remember. It felt so random when Sophie started turning into the witch.
okay im gonna end it with some positive things cuz I’ve just been ranting lmao
Loved lady lesso ngl. So gay for her.
having tedros not kill some unnamed kid as a gargoyle, but a kid that we got to actually know was a lot more satisfying. Really got the point across
HESTADIL CRUMBSSSSSS
honestly I was worried that they would chicken out of making Sophie ugly as a witch, but they did alright with it. Kudos.
Tedros and Agatha chemistry yesssss. When she tripped and he caught her>>>
Yes anemone POP OFF QUEEN
the wish fish scene was GORGEOUS
I liked the bit of background they gave Gavaldon. Like Agatha and Sophie’s classmates talking to them. That was nice :]
I honestly enjoyed covey’s character. She was a little manic at times, and a little different from the books, but I thought it fit the movie well. And I cracked a few smiles at it
Tedros and Agatha again. Sassy Agatha in their first conversation <3333
the ever Boys’ entrance was well done :>
Hester’s demon was FANTASTIC and absolutely sick
HORT MY BABY YES KING
that’s all I really have the brainpower to think about and write down. Also this became way longer than I thought it would. I had to rant about it somewhere cuz my friends haven’t watched nor read it and my mom didn’t want to hear it lol. Anyway, those are just my opinions on the movie. Even though I had a lot to complain about, the movie was still an enjoyable watch. It’s always cool seeing familiar characters in live action :D

Since I’ve caught up with One Piece and am back to watching more or less whatever, I’m trying to cross a few things off my bucket list. Watched Fargo and Heathers today, both for the first time.
Fargo was alright. Not great, not terrible, but alright. It felt exactly like an older movie which it obviously is, but I can’t really explain what I mean by that. Like…to at least give an attempt to explain what I mean by that, it reminded me of The Shining in how it says what needed to be said, and then it ends. That’s it. Nothing more. And that’s not a criticism by any means, it’s just the vibe I got from the movie is all. I don’t know, maybe that only makes sense to me. Anyways, I’d say a solid 7/10.
Heathers on the other hand, was fucking wild. This might only be a me thing but I went in knowing basically nothing about it, but from just a casual glance at it, I thought it was going to essentially be just an older version of Mean Girls. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It actually starts off exactly how you’d think a version of Mean Girls would start, but then it goes somewhere dark as fuck and ends in just a really bizarre but interesting way. Wynona Ryder also looks the same today as she did in that movie, proving she never fucking ages. I love her. Slater on the other hand, idk to me he looked actually kind of creepy in his youth. My mom says he’s hot, and like certainly I can see the appeal nowadays, but back then…yeah not so much for me. Anyways, 9/10 I’d say.
Here’s my current list. Any suggestions of “must see” movies, preferably classics, are appreciated. Not sure which of these I’m gonna watch next, kind of depends on what’s readily available for me to stream while at work.

Scarface
The Godfather

Falling Down
Pretty Woman
Dirty Dancing
The Room
Titanic

Before We Hit The Road Again | Part 1
-- May 4th --
Alex: "You have to be careful with this," Alex warned his soon to be two year old son. It was crazy how fast time was flying, this summer their little girl would be one year old already, Noah was going to be turning two. It was one of the rare mornings where Sophie was home and hadn't been back from filming so late that she had to sleep in a little bit. Alex knew she was up and downstairs spending time with Willa while he was just getting Noah. He was nerdy enough to want to spend the day, since it was May 4th (which very obviously was Star Wars day) teaching the little boy about one of his favorite movies series by getting him a little light saber to play with. "C'mon, let's find mommy so you can show her what you got," he suggested and they headed out, Noah slashing the light saber around like Alex had showed him (and instantly regretted because he was bound to crash it into things this way), and they headed downstairs to find Sophie.
Sophie: Today was a day that she didn't have to be at work early, late, she could just spend time at home with her family. She loved her job, she really did, but getting to come home and spend time with her family, was always going to be the best feeling. This morning she had woken and Willa was awake playing with her toys in her bed and she got her out and took her downstairs to play. Wanting to spend some quality time with their eldest daughter who would be three this summer. It amazed her that somehow they had three kids and none of them were going to be 'babies' anymore. Not to mention it would be three years together with Alex in another two short days. Grabbing out her phone she knew Willa loved the filters and she opened Instagram and found the one that turned her into a dog with little ears. Immediately Willa started barking and Sophie was chuckling taking different videos and saving them to her phone. When she heard the steps down the stairs Willa panted and woofed like a dog a few more times and her face turned bellowing 'Good morning!' from the little girl who saw her father with her brother before she closed off the app, not realizing that instead of closing, she posted the video with her daughter onto her instagram. "Well look at you too, is that a little lightsaber you've given him?"
Alex: Noah was all excited about the toy and was swinging the lightsaber around again as he headed into the living room where Alex could hear Sophie chuckling and Willa.. barking? The little girl turned around and bellowed ‘Good morning’ causing Alex to grin and give a little wave of his hand. “Good morning princess!” he greeted back, reaching down to catch a throw of the lightsaber so it would’ve push off a vase. “Yes that is a lightsaber,” he chuckled, watching Noah walk over to his mother to show her his new toy. “It’s May 4th, it would be so wrong not to have lightsabers today.” Reaching Willa and her, he picked the little girl up to hug her. “What were you and mommy doing, mh? Were you pretending to be a dog?”
Sophie: The little boy was swinging the lightsaber all excited to see it glow and move and she shook her head. "We're still not watching the Star Wars movies. Or are they starting to watch them." she said shaking her head chuckling. When the little boy toddled towards her. "Wow look at that, are you a big -- er superhero?" she furrowed her brow not knowing what it actually was from not watching them. "She was being the best pretend doggy, I have the cutest dogs vides on my phone for you to see."
Alex: “There’s kids movies, you know? Those lego ones. They’d be fine to watch those,” he argued, though he was sure Sophie still wasn’t going to agree. “Superhero?” Alex repeated, almost looking offended for a split second. “He’s a jedi, babe. And a great one too. One that’s not gonna turn to the dark side.” Willa barked again as Sophie said she was the best little dog and Alex laughed softly. “Oh I can’t wait to see. You’re so cute, aren’t you?” he cooed and tickled her tummy briefly before letting her down where she started to crawl and pretend to be a dog, which easily caused the actual dogs’ attention.
Sophie: "No lego movies either. Not before they watch Harry Potter." she said pointing at him, because that was so going to be the first big thing beside Disney. "Look I was a superhero and pretty badass." she said, "But okay, he's a future Jedi but if he wants to be on the dark side he can and I'd still love him." she cooed scooping him up. Of course when she was crawling around she got the dogs all excited. "You know.. a puppy could be fun for them, we could do it as a joint birthday gift for all three of them." she suggested grinning.
Alex: “Of course you’d love him because he’s your son. Which is fine for me to dress him up as Luke Skywalker next Halloween so I can be Darth Vader and if we bend it all a little you’re gonna be my beloved wife who still loves me even though I’ve turned to the dark force and all that,” he grinned. “It’s not real Star Wars if they watch the kids shows.. can’t even be compared to the actual Harry Potter movies,” he said with a chuckle. Willa was squealing and laughing when the dogs came towards her and Alex raised a brow at Sophie. “Oh no, we’ve got more than enough animals right now, we don’t need to add another one to the mix, don’t you think? And I’m gonna be back on tour, that’s gonna be a pain with a little puppy..”
Sophie: When he talked about Halloween and doing the whole thing Luke Sywalker and Darth Vader -- and how would you dress up Willa and Avery. Nope, it wouldn't work, and you got me dressed up at Leia for a very sexy time afterwards so I'm thinking.. something Disney related." she grinned knowing he wouldn't approve. "Yeah it can't because Harry Potter is the superior and I won't have any rebuff about that while we're in England." she pointed out. "I mean the babies would love a puppy though." she said before sighing, "But I guess I get not wanting to while you're on tour. Just thought it'd be a fun joint present for the kids." she said which obviously since losing Baz, she knew Willa missed the dog that had always followed her around like a shadow. "Anyway, we should get some breakfast into our little dog and jedi."
Alex: “Hey, I never said you should be dressing up as Leia this Halloween,” he said with a shrug. “You could be Padme and we’ll be just making perfect sense,” Alex added with a grin. “Noah and Willa can be Luke and Leia as little kids, Avery can have the little baby yoda costume. Or we can dress her up as a baby Chewbacca,” he mused. “Hey, I’m just saying, if we got a puppy now we’d have to be touring with three kids, a puppy and all the boys. That’s not gonna be great to have to potty train a puppy while on the road. Unless you decide you rather wanna stay home.. but I don’t know, that’d suck to be away for so long then,” he murmured. Sophie suggested breakfast and Alex’s stomach grumbled as if he heard that. “Ooh, yes. Breakfast sounds great, I can get in charge of that,” he offered and then soon after was off to the kitchen to start making some breakfast pancakes and toasts for the kids and them to have.
Sophie: There was a roll of her eyes when he said about not needing to be Leia that there were other options. "we already did a baby yoda so that's not so fun to repeat." she said shaking her head, as if they didn't have plenty of time figure this all out, plus she didn't know all his fall tour dates, they could be busy for Halloween for all she remembered. "I haven't decided I want to stay home, unless you want to be away from the kids for months at a time." she murmured. Which she'd respect. "I mean we've managed newborns on a tour bus and we have our own, what would a puppy add to it, and you did say you wanted Noah to grow up with a puppy." she pointed out remember when she was pregnant him saying that. A little while later she could tell he had to be close to finishing breakfast so she gathered the two oldest and got them out to the kitchen and set in their chairs before heading up and grabbing Avery and moving her to her playpen downstairs. "After we eat I'll nurse her so I have more energy."
Alex: Alex almost scoffed when Sophie question whether he rather wanted to be away from the kids for months and he quickly shook his head. “You know I don’t want that,” he murmured with a shrug. He did remember saying something like that, but back then, they had no idea they’d end up with three kids under three and he wasn’t sure how good of an idea it was to bring a puppy into the mix. Though of course they were both impulsive when it came to getting more animals, they’d very much proven that in the last few months. None of that had to be decided this morning though, so Alex wandered into the kitchen instead to make them all some breakfast. He was ready to call for Sophie when she came into the kitchen with the kids and settled them at the table. “Food first, then nursing,” he suggested with a chuckle and poured himself some coffee. “Tea or coffee for you?”
Sophie: "Nursing takes a lot of energy out of you did you know that? I'm so tired afterwards sometimes, especially with them getting older and nursing Noah at night and Avery still." Even though Avery was old enough to eat food, she was showing the least interest in actual food and still just nursing, which the doctor said that was perfectly normal. That some babies took longer some took shorter. So she took some of the pancakes and loaded them up taking a few bites before helping to cut up pancakes on Willa's plate while Alex helped with Noah's. "Um can I have water, caffeine before nursing is going to have her all wired." she chuckled. "Then I'll have a cup of tea." she said but for now water would work.
Alex: “I mean, I could’ve guessed but how would I have been supposed to know?” he murmured with a soft chuckle. Once they were settled, he helped cut up Noah’s pancake so the boy could eat. “Ah that makes sense,” he chuckled and got up briefly to get himself some coffee and a glass of water for Sophie. He took a sip before sitting back down. It was simple, just them as a family sitting together, chatting a bit with Noah all excited about his lightsaber that halfway through breakfast he was determined to go get while Willa was occasionally barking and reaching for Sophie’s phone for more of the filter. When they were done, Alex helped get the kids cleaned off so they could run off again while Sophie got Avery to nurse her and he offered to clean up the kitchen. He was just loading the dishwasher when Sophie’s phone buzzed on the table. Alex furrowed his brows when he saw Rian’s name light up on the screen. “Babe – Rian’s calling you, I’ll just pick it up, yeah?” he called over before he did pick up the phone. “Hi Ri.” “Hi Soph- oh. Hi Al – Tell me Sophie wanted to post that video on Instagram?” the drummer said. “What video?” Alex furrowed his brows, reaching for his own phone and opening Instagram only to find a very adorable video of Willa very publicly posted on Sophie’s Instagram story. “Oh shit.. – Babe! Soph!” Hanging up the phone with Rian, he hurried into the living room with both phones in hand.
Sophie: "I mean I don't think men would know since they can't breastfeed." she laughed softly. Taking a sip of her own water she started to dig into her food. "I was thinking tonight we can try and see if Avery wants to try some mashed potatoes or maybe some apple sauce." Since they had been trying different foods. Of course breakfast was always a bit of chaos and with them having one kid barking and the other child trying to get to his lightsaber. Sophie got up and moved to the couch to get comfortable with Avery while she nursed happily making soft little noises. "Yeah go ahead." she said since she didn't know why Rian would be calling her right now instead of Alex so she figured maybe something was going on with Alex's phone or they had missed it. When Alex came ushering into the room she glanced up, "What?" she furrowed her brows. "Is something wrong?" she asked as she shifted trying not to disturb Avery.
Alex: Somewhere on the way from the kitchen to the living room Alex had ended up ending the phone call with Rian and was now holding both phones out for Sophie to see. “She’s all over,” he said, his phone only just showing the very end of Sophie’s story before something else started and Alex frowned at the sound of a random song playing. He turned his phone around, holding Sophie’s out for her to take while he restarted the story to show to Sophie. “It’s on your Instagram stories,” he said.
Sophie: When he said she's all over she furrowed her brows until she shows the video of Willa with the filter to look like a dog and barking before saying good morning. "Oh my god… how.. I …" she shifted causing Avery to whine and she tried to not move to fast. "Oh my god just..take it down. Go on my phone and take it down." she said gesturing because they never wanted to show of their kids like that. "It was a mistake I didn't think it was posting anything."
Alex: Alex had often ended up deleting things he had posted, whether it was on Instagram or on Twitter (when he was still using that), so he grabbed Sophie’s phone again to get the story deleted. He wasn’t sure how long it had been up for people to see, how many people had recorded and then reposted it. He deleted the story and then took a long breath, unsure what to do while Sophie seemed to be freaking out while trying not to disturb Avery. “I know you didn’t mean to post that,” he said, because he was 100% sure she would’ve asked him if it was okay if she had actually intended to post anything where their kids were so very visible.
Sophie: She shifted Avery off of her and she whined but she put her into the playpen, obviously upset that this was happening. She could only imagine the number of people reposting it on fan sites, on blogs, everywhere. "Oh my god I showed our daughter's face all over the internet. It was an accident I swear." Her tears welling up because she was so upset over the fact that people had seen that when she tried her hardest to keep them concealed, they both did.
Alex: Alex could get really protective over his family, over Sophie and the kids especially and often he’d end up really mad and emotional about these kinds of things but right now, he just knew one of them had to keep a cool head. “Soph,” he said as Avery whined about not being able to nurse anymore. He reached out, taking Sophie’s wrists to pull her in and then he wrapped his arms around her, one hand resting on the small of her back, the other sliding up to hold the back of her neck. “I know you didn’t mean that. I don’t think anyone thinks it was anything but an accident. It’s down now, we’re gonna have to figure out what we can do to get it down from wherever it might’ve been reposted,” he said, swallowing hard.
Sophie: Sophie knew Alex was just as fiercely protective of her and the kids as you could want a partner to be. When he pulled her in he held her tight to his body as she started to cry out of anger at herself. Body shaking a little bit. “I didn’t mean to, I was so stupid for doing that it could have happened.” She said “I was on social media to use the filter I should have known.” The risk of it, she should have known the risk of it all. “We can.. I can.. post a statement asking people to take it down.” She said shaking slightly.
Alex: “You weren’t stupid,” he said softly. “It happens. There’s no point in blaming yourself. You didn’t mean to post it, but it happens.” He held her tight to him, feeling her body shaking and the tears against him. Noah, who was never a fan of his parents being oh so close together, came over and started to push against Alex’s legs to get between him and Sophie, but Alex shook his head slightly. “No, Noah,” he said firmly causing the little boy to whine a little bit but getting over it quickly as he sat down by their feet looking up curiously. “I want you to take a breath first,” Alex said softly for Sophie, his hands moving, arms unwrapping so he could cup her face in his hands instead and brush his thumbs over her cheeks to wipe the tears away. “Then we can figure out what statement to post, okay?”
Sophie: “I just… I should have known better.” She murmured. “Being in social media means that I could have done that and now everyone has seen her face.” She knew part of her was overly protective of showing their kids. To a point that I was probably too much but she understood. Taking a breath as he cupped hr face and brushed away the tears. “I can just say it’s an accident that I’ve always wanted them to have privacy if they ever see them it’s an accident and to please delete it if you’ve posted it for their privacy?”
Alex: “Babe, it was an honest mistake, you couldn’t have known better. And you should not be blaming yourself like that the way you are. It happens.” He gently brushed her tears away and locked their eyes for a moment, nodding when she suggested what to say on her post. “Yeah, that sounds just right. Let them know we never intent on our kids being that publicly posted and we’d appreciate it if anyone who reposted would delete that.”
Sophie: She nodded, “I mean I get people are excited and some genuinely just want to know her but I just think they still deserve privacy for now. Maybe when they’re older.” She said as she sat down. Grabbing her phone she made the post before posting it on her Instagram and hoping that everyone would respect their wishes that if they had the video they at least wouldn’t post it.

“Eh, Shouko! What do you mean you can’t make it?”
“I mean, another person is about to come in and they need me to heal them. By the time I’m done the movie will be finished.” Shouko’s voice over the phone is laced with annoyance and sadness coupled with lethargy. You don’t know how she pulls off such a unique combination of emotions but she somehow accomplishes it every time. “And I was looking forward to it…”
This would have been the first time you had a break with her since the trip to France. And while she enjoyed it a lot, the same couldn’t be said for the two males. Which was weird since Gojou is infatuated with sweets and Ken-chan agreed to come. So it was kind of weird when there was a tense atmosphere between them. You know your brother and Gojou are nearly polar opposites, but their animosity wasn’t usually that strong.
They brushed it off as nothing when you asked if something was wrong, which was sort of dubious since you could kind of see the black cloud looming over the both of them, but you let it go. If it was something important, they would be able to handle it themselves or report it to you. You couldn’t sense any cursed spirits nearby so you guessed that they were just in a bad mood for some reason.
Still, you had a wonderful time and found some new snacks that everyone enjoyed. So a day well spent, all in all.
And Ken-chan told you to tell him if Gojou ever offers overseas trips or anything similar, so he must have enjoyed it. Maybe you can ask Gojou to take all of you to Denmark one day.
“Ah… my dear Howl. Life and curses separate us again.” Her voice is full of sadness now, no doubt mourning over her chance of watching her favourite character on a huge screen with surround sound disappearing.
“It’s okay! I’ll bring you the figurine and we can watch it again here in about… uh…”
“Ten years?” She sounds like she’s about to drop dead.
“Uh… yes… But maybe five years? Hopefully? You know, I shouldn’t watch it without you. I’ll come back to school.”
“No, no. Watch the movie. At least you’ll get to see it. Ah, they’re coming now so I have to go.”
“Ah, okay. Bye, Shouko! Stay positive!”
A non-committal sigh accompanies a small “Bye” before the call clicks off. A frown takes over your face at the lost opportunity for her. She was looking forward to this for a long time and you leapt at the chance for another girls’ day out. Being able to watch a childhood favourite is an added bonus. But now you’re standing in the movie theatre, the ticket desk just across the room and an extra on your hand.
It’s a shame because it cost quite a lot. Shouko is definitely going to mope about this when you get back and maybe start smoking again. She always has a pack on her even if she said she quit, and smokes one if she’s stressed or angry. You should call someone and make sure somebody takes it away from her.
You should probably hold onto the ticket and give it back. Or maybe that would make it worse for her, serving as a reminder of this day. Conflict rages inside your head. There’s a high possibility of either decision breaking her heart. Again. A buzz from your phone saves you the trouble of deciding.
Shouko: I sent someone as my replacement.
A tap on the shoulder makes you turn as you type in a reply and you come face to face with a black jacket. Gojou’s head pops down.
“Hey there. I think you called for a replacement!” He seems to be in a ridiculously good mood, even more so than usual. Maybe his students successfully finished another mission. Which is great. It also means more paperwork for you. Which is not so great.
“How did you com—ah. Teleportation.”
“Ding ding ding! Correct!” He's been using the skill more frequently lately, popping in and out of places like one of those Whac-A-Mole games. . It gives you heart attacks all the time and you’re sure he gets a kick out of it. You saw how his smiles widen when you flinch or react. Thankfully it’s when you’re alone so other people never see you jump what feels like a metre into the air.
“Do you want popcorn?” He breaks you out of your thoughts. “I think they have the new caramel flavour. Apparently it’s way too sweet.” So perfect for Gojou. Even though he’s asking if you want it, there’s a spring in his step which definitely means he’s getting some. Probably the biggest option they have.
And you’re proven right because he comes back with two huge buckets which look impossible to finish. When you try to object, he cuts off with “I’ve eaten three buckets before. Alone.” With the smile he’s giving you, it really doesn’t sound like he’s joking. You try to take one to lighten the load but he says it’s alright.
He signals the way to the theatre rooms with his head, walking beside you as you find your way.
“So what’s the movie?” Your head snaps to him in confusion.
“You don’t know?” A shake and a shrug. “It’s Howl’s Moving Castle. This was Shouko’s idea since she loves it and this year is Studio Ghibli’s 40 year anniversary. The cinema is having an exclusive showing of their movies this month. Only one session per movie, for some reason. Surely they would make more money if they played it over multiple days, but. I dunno. Executives make weird decisions.” A light scoff from him to tell he knows exactly what that’s like. His hatred for the higher-ups runs deep. You don’t push it.
“So she wanted to come but got held back at the last minute?”
“Yeah. Ah, here are our seats.”
You’re placed in the very middle of the room and you both make yourselves comfortable. Shouko went all out for this movie, upgrading the seats and making it a recliner. Your poor back, abused after sitting in chairs and hunched over computers for so long, practically melts into the plush cushion. It’s so comfortable that you might fall asleep in it if it isn’t Howl that’s about to start.
Feet dangling in the air, you look over to Gojou to see him on his phone. It looks like he’s in a chatroom and you catch the words ‘Shouko’ and ‘favour’ before looking away. You didn’t mean to peek, but it’s not like you can consciously not read something. It was in your line of sight and you averted your eyes as soon as you realised what you were reading. Your brother brought you up better than to pry into other people’s businesses, even if it’s really, really tempting.
“Phones need to be placed on silent, you know.” The ads are coming on the screen. He smiles at you, slipping it into his pocket.
“Just talking to Shouko. She says she hasn’t even started properly.”
Disappointment fills you. Gojou is a good friend to watch this with but you hoped Shouko would somehow miraculously finish in time. She would be devastated.
“I’ll have to make this up to her when we get back. Give her the figurine and keep her hap—ah! I forgot! Gojou, I was supposed to ask someone to take her ciga—” He cuts you off with a light pat on your hand.
“Don’t worry, I did it already. All of them are safe out of her reach and I gave her packets of hot chocolate instead. When we get back, she’ll have drunk at least half of them and be in a good mood.” What a Gojou-like replacement. He smiles like a child wanting pats on the head for a job well done. You just barely catch yourself from moving.
Gojou gets a rep for being aloof and neglectful, but he does take care of the people he holds dear to him. His friends, members of the school, his students. You hope you’re included in the list.
Actually, the more you think about it, the more you realise he’s different from initial perceptions. You learn more and more about him as time goes on, in the most delightful sense. He’s somewhat like an onion, new characteristics being revealed every time a layer is peeled. A snicker escapes at the thought of Gojou dressed up like an onion, just waddling around. He shoots you a questioning head tilt which you wave off.
In the years that you’ve known him, he made himself into a trustworthy friend. One full of laughs and ridiculousness. Maybe it’s his childishness that puts you at ease, but he’s incredibly comfortable and easy to relax around. Thoughts trail and the words fly out of your mouth before you even think.
“You know, I think you would make a wonderful boyfriend.”
He freezes completely, like somebody’s zapped him in place. You stare at him, wondering what’s wrong, but the lights dim and by the time he gathers coherence, your concentration is on the opening sequence.
Tumblr media
“Ah, that was so good! Ugh, I love Howl. Isn’t he so cool?” You skip out of the room, remembering to take the figurines provided at the exit, with Gojou trailing behind you. “You know how she asks him to wait for her in the past? The first thing he says to her in the movie is ‘I’ve been looking everywhere for you.’ He searched for her the entire time! This is modern poetry. This.”
“Do you think Howl would be a good boyfriend?” The question stops you. It’s different than usual for some reason, the voice asking the question and the intensity of it. He’s still his aloof self, all smiles and grins, but there’s something you can’t quite place that’s wrong. It’s unnerving, but you diligently answer his question.
“Um, I mean, yeah? Look at how cute he is with Sophie. See?” The figurine is a frozen shot of Howl and Sophie dancing in the rain with an umbrella that’s not being useful at all. They’re both incredibly detailed, so much so that you can see their clothes and skin drenching wet. Wow, this is actually a phenomenal job. Shouko will be so happy. It makes your heart lighter knowing that at least something might light up her day.
“Why is he cool?” Gojou seems to be invested in Howl. It confuses you since he just watched the movie with you and he saw how awesome Howl is.
“Hm, well for one he can do magic.” He opens his mouth but you shush him with a finger to his lips. “Yeah, I know, what we have is kind of like magic too. But theirs is just… different. He just makes it seem kind of elegant. And he overcame his fear just for Sophie. Remember the scene with Sulliman and in the cluttered bedroom? He still found the strength to protect her even though he was so scared before. It’s admirable. I guess I like strong guys.”
“Hmm~” His tone is contemplative. “You know I’m stronger than him, right?”
A question mark forms over your head. He’s being really weird today. “Yeah? You’re the strongest in the universe, silly. What’s up with you?” Gojou just chuckles and ruffles your head.
“Nothing, nothing. Just making sure you know.” He slings his arm around your shoulder, the intensity gone and the light spring in his step back. “Who else do you think is strong?”

“How much longer?”
“Just a few…” Sophie answered Rafe absentmindedly, biting her bottom lip in concentration as she typed.
They’d assumed their usual positions while studying in her room - she was sprawled out on her bed, while he sat at her desk, concentrating on whatever homework he had for the day. She’d banned him from the bed during study time, much to his dismay, claiming he was far too distracting. (He still got away with distracting her half the time anyways, slinking over and tucking his large frame into her side like a dog that had overgrown its owner’s lap years ago.)
“Rafe?” She broke the silence after a while, punctuating her sentence with a firm shut of her laptop.
“Yeah, baby?”
“I just applied for a grad program.” She told him nervously, unsure of what his reaction might be.
He shrugged, not turning his attention to her. “Okay? I thought you applied to Ohio State’s, you’re basically in already.”
“Well, yeah. But, um - can you look at me, please?” Sophie bit at her bottom lip, anxious.
He glanced up and finally noticed her nervous energy, then came over to sit next to her on the bed. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, it’s just big news. Maybe. I don’t even know if I have news yet, really -”
“Spit it out, Soph.” He nudged his knee against hers, concerned.
She nodded, taking a breath. “Okay. I applied to three other places, too. Two are in New York, one’s in Texas. And I know, I should have told you, but I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to do it in the first place, I kind of applied on a whim - well, I’ve been perfecting the application essay for weeks, but -”
“Soph, hey, it’s okay.” He cut off her rambling and a broad grin spread across his face, completely surprising her. “New York and Texas, for real?”
She raised her eyebrows and fidgeted with her ring, glancing at him worriedly. “That doesnt worry you at all? That we’d be apart?”
She’d thought about how to tell him, when to tell him, for weeks now. She’d been hiding that she was interested in applying to other schools since June and though she felt incredibly guilty, she kept thinking back to long distance and how sad he seemed sometimes. She couldn’t break him with the news again so soon, not when she saw the way he lit up when they were together again and how content he was. Not when she saw how hard it was for her to support him from thousands of miles away, knowing physical touch was a big thing he relied on for comfort in their relationship.
He interrupted her train of thought as he took her hand, lacing their fingers together. “Sophie, baby, do you know how many jobs are in New York and Texas?”
“Wait, you’d come with me?” She stuck her bottom lip out a little, overwhelmed and almost near tears at his response.
“I was planning on following you no matter what.” Rafe smiled encouragingly, reaching out and stroking his thumb over her cheek. “If you’ll have me.”
“Oh.” She said softly, growing shy. “You’re sure? You could go wherever you wanted, I don’t want to hold you back -”
“Hey, hey, none of that. Where’d you apply, when do you hear back?”
“You’re sure this isn’t an issue.” She asked warily, not wanting to undermine his feelings.
“I’m positive.” He gave her a proud grin. “What schools?”
“Okay, um. Columbia -”
He let out a long low whistle, nodding. “Impressive.”
She blushed, finally grinning back. “Hush. Columbia, Syracuse and UT Austin. Isobel already got into Syracuse. Columbia’s my top choice, but that’ll probably never happen.”
“Of course it’ll happen, get out of your head.” He leaned down and kissed her, smiling against her lips. “Look at you, big shot, applying for an Ivy.”
She relaxed, her hands trailing along the hem of his shirt, and ducked her head to hide her grin. “Stop. It’s not that big of a deal.”
“It is that big of a deal. When do you find out?” He shifted to lay down by her, then tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
“Um…not for a couple months, I think. You’ll really follow me?”
“Course I will, if you’ll have me.” He nodded earnestly.
“Yeah. I’d like that.” She beamed, nudging her nose against his. “You’re my favorite.”
“Love you too.” He responded. “Wait, did you just apply? Like right now?”
She nodded, biting the inside of her cheek. “Just finished my Columbia essay, I did the rest last week. Now I wait.”
He smoothed his thumb over her cheek, making her relax again. “You’re so damn smart. Should we go celebrate?” Rafe gave her a cheeky grin. “Double scoop with sprinkles?”
She rolled her eyes. “Doesn’t have the same effect now that you get it for free.” As a part of his internship program, he’d received a punch card for 25 free visits to Jeni’s, their favorite ice cream shop - they’d hardly made a dent in it since returning to school.
“No, I pay extra for the sprinkles and your waffle cone.” His grin gave way to a slow smirk and he kissed her neck, sucking gently for a moment. “We could celebrate other ways…”
“Wait, no, I actually do want the ice cream.” She pulled away before he could leave a mark, giving him a warning glance. “I gotta make up for what I missed over summer.”
He laughed, getting up and offering his hand. “Alright. C’mon, genius. Jeni’s is waiting for you.”
She took his hand, but didn’t stand. “Wait, Rafe. You’re sure, this is okay with you? I know you have your job lined up and all…”
Rafe paused, shrugging. “Yeah, well. Uh, Brooklyn got the job offer too, she’s already accepted it. So I wasn’t too psyched about it anyways.”
“Oh.” She nodded, thoughtful. “Have you been to New York? Or Austin?”
“I have. You haven’t? You want to go visit when you get in, so you can make your final decision?” He tugged on her hand, pulling her up into a hug and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“Not sure I could afford that.” She mumbled, resting her head on his chest.
“Man, too bad you don’t have a boyfriend with money to pay for those trips.” He hooked a finger under her chin, tilted it up so he could look her in the eyes and see her scowl. “If you want to visit, we’ll go. Easy weekend trip.”
“Right.” Sophie nodded, unsure. “Maybe. I’m not even sure I’ll get in, I’ll probably be stuck here in Columbus for another year anyways.”
“Hey. Stop talking like that. You’ll help me look for jobs in New York and Texas, right?”
“Of course I will.” She confirmed. “You know, we could probably find something related to film in New York…”
He scoffed and looped his arm around her shoulders, steering her out of her room and down the stairs. “I think my dad might write me out of his will if I did anything adjacent to the film industry. Waste of my time, he says.”
She frowned, letting him usher her out to the car. “Maybe you should go talk with the career counselors, see if there’s options to combine both. You’re good at marketing too, maybe there’s something there?”
“Not sure. Haven’t really thought about any of that.” He dismissed her quickly, feeling uneasy like he did any time he thought about his future outside of school.
Sometimes he realized he was really good at absorbing other people’s interests, like he was able to always match his personality into a perfect mold to other people’s expectations. With Colin and James, and now Sophie, he was able to let his guard down a little and figure out who he was, who he wanted to be beyond his father’s expectations. He felt like he was thinking about this ten years too late - eleven year old Rafe had always written his ‘dream job’ in school as working for his dad. Now he was about to graduate, set to get a job, and wasn’t even sure if he could list his hobbies outside of hanging out with Sophie and his friends, and watching movies.
“Look, I just...I don’t want you to lose sight of what you’re actually interested in just because you need a job. You don’t have to hate your job.” She told him, carefully.
“I know.” He nodded, shutting down the conversation. “Today’s not about me, though, we gotta celebrate you, hotshot over here.” He grinned at her, leaning over to kiss her quick across the seat. “I think they have the chocolate cake back in stock, I’ve missed it.”
She picked up on his hesitation, but didn’t push it. “You’re such a creature of habit.”
“No, you’re just a psychopath picking a different flavor every time.” He shook his head as he reached his hand to rest behind her seat, turning around to back up. “Good thing I love you anyways, smart girl.”
“Love you too, sweet boy.” She replied with a smile.

愛してる
pairing:sunghoon x fem!reader
genre:fluff, slight angst?
warning:some slight cussing
a/n: this is kinda based on “to all the boys i loved before” but i’ve actually never watched the movies😅 so i hope this is okay<3
——————————————————————————
“what’s wrong?” your friend sophie asks while poking your cheek. “my ex won’t leave me alone and it’s been like two weeks since we broke up.” i groan, placing my head down on my desk. “through text or-“ “mainly just at school. it’s like he’s trying to piss me off anymore than i’m already am.”
looking out the window, i can only pay attention to my own thoughts. “y/n, y/n..Y/N!” i jumped at the sudden outburst of my name. “the bell rang like two minutes ago.” “oh”. grabbing my stuff, i peacefully walk to my next class. not realizing what class period was next, i walk in to see my ex laughing with his friends.
not even seconds after i sat down, i see someone standing in front of my desk. looking up i see my ex smirking down at me. “what do you want?” “well aren’t you in a bitchy mood today.” “i wouldn’t be in mood if your ass would just leave me alone.” “if would just respond to my texts, i wouldn’t be standing here.”
as soon as i was going to speak, i see the classroom door open revealing a group of boys walking in. having an idea, i get out of my seat and walk over to one of the boy before he could sit down. “hey babe” while hugging the boy. the boy looked at me startled and confused, “just go with it.” i whispered while nudging my head towards my ex. “ohh”.
the boy finally catching on, hugs me back while staring directly at my ex. “you’re dating sunghoon!?!” my ex exclaims while everyone else in the room goes silent. “she is and who are you?” sunghoon asks. “her ex”. i look at my ex and couldn’t tell if he was pissed or upset. “well it looks like you didn’t end on good terms” “that’s none of your business” “it’s also none of your business of who y/n is dating now so if you can just leave us alone that would be great.”
“fine..it probably won’t even last that long anyways” my ex states while going back to his desk. “thank you” i whisper. “no problem”. going back to my seat, all i could think about is how sunghoon was holding my hand the entire time.
——————————————————————————
“Y/N” sophie screams while running towards me. “what?” “you’re dating sunghoon!?!” i looked at her confused then realized what she was talking about. “how the hell did you find out and no i’m not dating him.” “wait what” “my ex was bothering me during class and decided just to find someone and act like he was my boyfriend, that’s all.” i shrugged. “THATS ALL??, y/n, sunghoon is like one of the most popular guys in our school. do you know how much this could possibly hurt you? i mean everyone in school already knows about you too and some of the girls are not so happy about it.” realizing the severity of the situation, i pull out my phone and go onto to see everyone talking about us. “oh shit” “yeah oh shit is right”
“y/n you might want to turn around.” “huh” looking up from my phone, i see sunghoon walking towards the two of us. “hey we need to talk” “uhh okay” i wave bye to sophie and walk with sunghoon to wherever he was taking me. “where are we going?” “to my car” “ohh”. getting in his car, i felt a little uncomfortable with the close proximity of us being in the car together. “so what do you want to talk about?” “about this whole ‘relationship’ “ “look i’m sorry i didn’t mean for this to happen. i was just trying to get my ex to stop bothering me and” “hey it’s fine, i totally understand. we just need to go over some rules” “rules?” raising an eyebrow at him. “yes. now first we can just fake date for the time being but there needs to be rules.” “okay” “1: your allowed to hug me whenever. 2: only kisses that are allowed are on the cheek. 3: i have practice at 3-7 on the week days and i’m only really free on the weekends. even if we are fake dating we still have to act like a couple or people will realize that we’re not actually dating and that really wouldn’t look good on your end.” “what does your practice have to with this though?” “ohh you have to come to those sometimes” “what why?!” “because that’s want good girlfriends do, they watch their boyfriends practice for their competition and games~” sunghoon says poking my cheek in the process. blushing slightly at the use of the word ‘girlfriend’ i turn my head so he wouldn’t see. “is that all?” “yeah i think so for the most part” all i do is nod. the car fills up with silence after that. “would you like to come to my practice today?” i look at the clock to see it was almost 3, looking at sunghoon “sure i have nothing better to do” “okay then off to the rink!”
——————————————————————————
“it’s been about 3 weeks since the whole fake dating thing has happened and for the most part it’s been going okay. there’s only been like two girls that tried starting shit with me but other than that nothing else has happened. even my ex has been leaving me alone. thank god.” “how long will this go on for?” sophie asks. “i really don’t know to be honest. sunghoon never really said anything about how we can keep this going.” “i mean shit who knows, maybe you’ll actually fall in love with each other.” sophie says while grinning. “uhh yeah no.”
walking out to the common area outside, i see sunghoon talking with his friends. walking over to them, i place my bag down at sit next to jay which is currently talking about what he did during the weekend. “hey guys” fake dating sunghoon meant becoming friends with his friends which actually wasn’t that bad. everyone is so nice and really enjoyable to hang out with, and the guys never mind when i’m around which is nice. “oh hi y/n. how are you?” jake asks. “i’m good, just a bit tired that’s all.”
upon hearing that, sunghoon pulls me over to and pushes my head to rest on his shoulder. getting comfortable, i listen to the boys talk about sports and how jake has an upcoming soccer game on wednesday. “y/n are you going to the game on wednesday?” “uh i think so, sophie said she wanted to go but she doesn’t want to go alone so i guess i’ll be there.” “okay cool! well anyways i have to get going, i have to finish my homework and then go to practice. bye guys” jake says while getting up and walking out of school grounds. “yeah we have to leave too.” sunghoon states while gathering his things. getting up, i grab my bag and wait for sunghoon. “bye y’all” waving at the rest of the boys.
getting in the passenger seat of sunghoons car, i wait for him to finish putting all his stuff in the back of the car. “what is all that?” “just stuff for a project i had to do.” “ohh okay.” “i don’t have practice today so do you want to go to a cafe orr” “umm yeah that would be fine i guess” “okay cool” starting the car, we had into town and find a parking spot(a/n: you know like the parking spots on the side of the road and you can just park there and then walk around the city and stuff). sunghoon gets out of the car and puts money into the meter. walking to one of the cafes near the center of town, we walk in and sit down. looking at the menu while waiting for the waiter to come, i could feel eyes on me. looking up i see that sunghoon is staring at me. “what? do i have something on my face?” snapping back to reality before sunghoon could speak, the waiter comes over to our table. “hi how are you today and what could i get for y’all?” “ could i get a piece of strawberry cheesecake and water please” “okay and for you?” “just a piece of chocolate mousse cake. thank you” “okay i will get that out in just a few minutes”
“one piece of strawberry cheesecake and one piece of chocolate mousse cake. and here is your water ma’am.” “thank you!” grabbing my fork, i get a small piece before eating it. “omg this is so good!” “i’m glad” sunghoon says while smiling a little. “here try” holding a piece in front of his mouth. sunghoon looks at the piece of cake then looks at me questionably before open his mouth and eating the cake. “wow it is good” “see i told you!” while eating i could see sunghoon starting at my plate. “what’s wrong?” sunghoon doesn’t say anything except grabs something from under the plate. “what is it?” all sunghoon does is crumbles the piece of paper and goes back to eating the rest of food. looking at him i could tell he was a little upset. paying no mind to it, i finish the rest of my cake and just wait while looking out the window. “okay let’s go” looking at sunghoon, i get up and go to grab my wallet before feeling a hand stopping me. “i’m paying” “uhh no, last time you paid so i’m going to pay this time.” “no you’re not” not interested in arguing about who’s paying, i let him and wait for him outside the cafe.
“what did the paper say?” “it was nothing” “sunghoon don’t lie to me, i can tell that you are lying.” “ i am not lying thank you very much.” “yes you are. so are you going to tell me what it says or am i going to have to pry it out of you?” i question. “and just how are you going to do that?” sunghoon looks over at me while stopping at the red light. getting closer to his face, his eyes widened “okay okay, it was the waiters number” he says the last part in a whisper” “sorry i couldn’t hear you, could you repeat that for me?” “it was the waiters number” “the guy from the cafe?” my eyes look back over to sunghoon and i could see i light tint of pink dusting his cheeks. “sunghoon, are you jealous?” “what no, what are you talking about?” “i mean you could’ve just told me it was the guys number in the cafe but you didn’t. why?” “because i know you wouldn’t care and besides that how could he not tell we are ‘dating’. i mean to me it was clear as day” “you are jealous!” “am not” “is to”. looking out the window, i see that we’re outside of my house. not wanting to farther upset him, i grab my bag and get out the car. “i’ll see you tomorrow” “yeah..” “goodnight sungie”
——————————————————————————
“come on y/n or we’re going to be latee” “okay okay hold on i have to make sure i have everything” grabbing my bag me and sophie walk out of her house and make our way to the school. “i wonder if jay is going to be there?” “of course he’s going to be there, jake is like his best friend.”
arriving to the school, everyone was just hanging out before the game. seeing sunghoon towards the back of the field bleachers, i walk over to him. “hey” sitting down next to him. “you look good” sunghoon was wearing a pair a black jeans with holes in the knees, an oversized red hoodie and a black beanie. “thanks, you don’t look to bad yourself.” “well thank you” “eww” sophie says while acting like she was going to throw up. “i’m going to go get some snacks” sophie says while getting up. once she was gone, i look over to sunghoon “i’m sorry about yesterday, i didn’t mean to pry into it nor say you were jealous.” “no it’s my fault, i should’ve told you. and no you were right i was kinda jealous.” “why though? we’re only fake dating so why be jealous.” “i don’t know really” “i’m back!” sophie exclaims while plopping a bag in my lap. “they had some of your favorite snacks so i got some for you” “ohh you didn’t have to, thank you though”
while watching the game, sunghoon gets up and walks off. not thinking much of it, i just pay attention to the game. getting a ding from my phone, i see that sunghoon texted me.
hoonie💕: meet me by my car
you: okay:)
getting up i tell sophie that i’ll be right back and make my way towards the parking lot. i see sunghoon leaning on the front of his car. “hey what’s up?” “i need to talk to you.” “okay what do you need to talk abou-“ because i could finish my sentence, sunghoon grabs me and pulls me closer to him, kissing me in the process. my eyes widened and before anything else, sunghoon pulls back. “i umm what was the for?” “y/n just listen to me for a minute. i know this was only supposed to be a short term thing, i really do. it’s just after spending so much time with you, i realize that i actually liked you more than i thought i would. the day we went to the cafe and the waiter slipped his number to you, it made me upset. i didn’t like the fact that somebody else could possibly like you. it made me realize how much you truly meant to me. i really like you y/n and it’s okay if you don’t feel the same way. i just really needed to get that off my chest.” shocked from sunghoons words, all i could do it stand there and process everything that just happened. “sunghoon look at me” sunghoon looks up at me and i could tell that he nervous. “sunghoon the day i hugged you i never thought it would come to this. i love spending time with you or going to your practices. i realize that i might of had a small crush on you from the beginning but at the same time i was scared because of the way things ended with my ex. i was scared to get into a relationship and even if it was just fake dating, it still scared me. but after spending so much time with you, i realized that i truly did liked you. you are always so kind and caring to me. it’s just i really like you too sunghoon and to be honest i’ve liked you for a while now i guess.” “well i mean do you want to be my actual girlfriend?” sunghoon asks while grabbing both of my hands. “yes” i say before pulling him closer to kiss him.
“i love you y/n” “i love you to hoonie”

So @nebulous-bondage , you said that you liked Dean being an idiot with internalized issues that he confronts, misunderstandings and miscommunications, and long-suffering Sam. I attempted to do a bit of everything but adjacent to anything I would usually do, took a movie metaphor and ran. I hope you like it!
Great love and hugs to Sophie over at @starrynightdeancas for hosting this AWESOME event for a fabulous celebration (and once again congrats on the milestone!!) I got to meet at least TWO new cool people from it. (My gifter and giftee.) If you want some amazing content, please check out Sophie’s stuff that I totally drew inspiration from. Figured if my giftee was a fan of Sophie’s, I couldn’t go too wrong taking a card out of that deck.
Lots of love!
🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
The crux of the issue if you asked Dean, was this:
He was an idiot.
Okay, he was not—he wasn’t stupid stupid. He has got mediocre intelligence, right? He wasn’t like Sammy and his multiple languages thing or Bobby and his random lore thing and—
The point was Dean, while not stupid could be a massive idiot. And that was the conundrum that led him to soaking in the middle of a diner in Nebraska of all places with his mother gasping at him and his brother facepalming at him and Jack glaring at him—
And Cas… well, Cas was just. Looking. But his face was, if Dean had to pinpoint some emotion, reading like it was a heartbreak that he had just experienced.
Maybe Dean should start from the beginning. Just so you understand his perspective, okay? Because he wasn’t—he wasn’t stupid. This wasn’t entirely his fault, except that it might have been. And he might have a lot of talking to do. Which sucked, because Dean kind of hated talking.
Okay, maybe not the beginning. The beginning was fire and brimstone and sulfur. The beginning was something Dean was told, but didn’t remember. Or the beginning he did remember, which was lightning and fear and salvation—well.
Dean was far from the beginning. The real beginning. It had been longer than a decade. An entire lifetime—more than that—separating him from what he was. What they were now to what they were then.
But there is a beginning to every stage in Dean’s life, he’s found. And that’s what he means. This thing Dean had for Cas? It began long before Dean was aware of it. This particular circumstance that led to a soaked shirt in a corny booth? Well, Dean with the benefit of retrospection could pinpoint it exactly.
In the Bunker’s library was where this had all started.
Cas had just walked in, deeply conversing with Jack. All of the conversations that Cas had he treated with that same seriousness. Even back when he had just been newly revived. Newly in Dean’s passenger seat, donning a cowboy hat, and calling himself Huckleberry.
(His Huckleberry. Dean’s Huckleberry. Even if he didn’t mean it like that. Could never mean it like that. Because angel’s didn’t feel like that.)
Jack had spotted Dean first, or at least turned to face Dean first. Dean had wondered if Cas had that same peripheral awareness as him. If his eyes always looked for him when he entered a room. If he could feel the charge he exuded with every step.
(Probably not. It was probably an angel thing that made Dean aware of Cas. Something about electricity and grace. Even though Cas’ grace was fading by the day, he was an angel. Would always be an angel if Dean could do anything about it.)
The point was, Jack had turned from Cas. Had asked Dean something about courting rituals in film. Dean had scoffed, reminding Jack that he didn’t watch chick-flicks. Because he didn’t. And had given him some sort of half answer.
(Ten Things I Hate About You didn’t count. And neither did Dirty Dancing. Ledger was not starring in a chick-flick, and Swayze always got a pass.)
Frowning, Jack had made some comment to Cas. It was probably regarding their previous conversation, and that’s why Dean hadn’t retained it. Didn’t really get it. He was, as stated previously, an idiot. And maybe if he had paid more attention, he would have stopped this before it had started.
But he didn’t. Instead, he had turned to Cas. Because he had been thinking about Dirty Dancing. And how Cas hadn’t seen that yet. And Dean had asked Cas if he wanted to do a movie night. Just—just the two of them.
(He said it was because Jack was four, and maybe Cas should vet the movie first. And Sam hated Dirty Dancing. And Mom wasn’t even home. Which was all true. But it wasn’t often that Dean had the excuse to be alone with his best friend.
At the beginning of their friendship, Dean hadn’t had to share Cas with anybody. That was his best friend. His buddy to laugh harder with than he had in his entire life. His buddy to watch movies with and make jokes with. Now even Mary liked circling around Cas—not that Dean would blame them. But maybe—maybe he would like to be a bit selfish. Just this once.)
Jack’s face had lit up like a Christmas tree, and Cas’ eyes had looked as gentle as soft-serve. “I would like that,” he had answered, and that had been that. They had watched the movie, just the two of them. And if Cas sat closer into Dean’s personal space—well. Cas never knew what that was, did he? No need to correct him now.
And it was small things like that. Adjacent to what they had been doing before, but somehow different. Maybe Dean was laughing more. Maybe Cas was smiling more. Whatever the hell it was, it was nice.
(Nice in the way that butterflies in the stomach felt. Light and dizzying and wonderful and terrifying. Not that it was butterflies. Not that this was even remotely anything like that.
Because, if Dean were to be honest about it, butterflies didn’t come close. The butterflies in Dean’s stomach had once had jetpacks. But now? Now they were settled. They just lived there and Dean was used to it and it was—
It was more than butterflies. In theory.)
And it was Sam shaking his head at them. Them laughing. Jack sitting across from them with a board game on a team with Mary, facing head to head. And it was… nice.
(Nice should have been Dean’s warning.)
Jack’s movie night picks were always varying, but he had recently shoveled 90s romantic films into the fray. Sam, as predicted, had ducked out to FaceTime with Eileen when Dirty Dancing had made it to the top of the list, but otherwise stuck it out. Dean couldn’t even begin to list all of the names that had bled together and the faces with their generic, lovestruck expressions.
There was Jack’s wide smile, though. Sam snorting a laugh and shoving popcorn into his mouth. Mary, intrigued and curious, asking as many questions as Cas might have once upon a time. And Cas was there, right next to Dean’s arm, and warm beside him. Lovely and warm and giving that same smile Dean thought was beginning to make a regular appearance.
Sitting with his entire family—all of them safe for once?—of course it had to go wrong.
(Of course Dean had to be the one to ruin it.)
It was an entire nest of vampires out in Nebraska of all places. Mary had been in the area and willing to meet up with them. Jack had been desperate to learn more about hunting, a fact that reminded Dean of a far off memory of Cas newly returned from Purgatory. A gummy smile and determination braced into an angel who still had his wings. Dean would be damned if Jack wasn’t a spitting image of that.
(But, maybe… Maybe Jack could go without all the terrible things that happened during that time. Cas, back from Purgatory and not in control of all of his faculties. Cas, longing for penance and willing to pass vindication on Dean’s guilty conscience. Even if Dean wasn’t a great role model. Even if the first few weeks with Jack had been—
Sam called it living with John Winchester again. Dean hadn’t known what to call it. Didn’t know if he could call it anything. But that—
Well, that was for another time. Dean would always be living with that guilt, but for the moment, the guilt bloomed in a Nebraska diner sitting across from Cas.)
Laughing, smiling—things that seemed to subtly be a new normal for them. It made Dean lean back in the booth, sling his arm over the back of it and relax into his seat. He turned to Jack, ruffling the kid’s hair after Jack shot a syrupy smile to Cas across the table. Cas offered a shy smile, ducking his head.
Beside Cas, Sam rolled his eyes and resumed his conversation with Mary. Mary had squeezed into the side with Dean and Jack. Five people didn’t work for booths, and Dean couldn’t help but think that in another life he would have prevented this exact thing from happening. But he didn’t mind being half on a seat, Mary squeezing between Jack and the window, and Sam sitting across from her laughing. Cas’ still shy smile on him.
“I did have a question,” Mary raised a brow. “I mean, when did movies start getting so… formulaic?”
Sam huffed a laugh, giving a shrug of his shoulders. “Well, they’ve kind of always been that way, haven’t they? Old Japanese myth becomes Hollywood cowboys becomes modern Sci-Fi.”
“Hey,” Dean spoke pointedly. “Treading dangerous waters there, Sammy. You can’t go wrong with cowboys or aliens.”
“Oh! Or Cowboys and Aliens,” Jack beamed, pointing with his fork before returning most of his attention to the remaining stack of pancakes.
Dean acquesied the point with a crooked grin. “That too.” He took a sip of his coffee, enjoying the slow burn of hot caffeine into his system. “What sort of formula are we talkin’ about though? Are we talkin’ young girls getting hypnotized by weirdly boyish supernatural creatures?”
“Even that has some basis going back to at least 1897,” Cas pointed out, “at least from what most people with any familiarity of fiction are concerned. Stoker’s Dracula was also a youthful seeming figure who enchanted a young woman.” His brow furrowed in that thoughtful way of his before he continued. “Though, I suppose that since some scholars believe it is possibly an allegory for sexuallly transmitted diseases, that does reaffirm the belief that it is meant to be an alluring but dangerous figure threatening the virtue of a young woman.”
Mary chuckled, shaking her head with wide eyes. She still wasn’t used to Cas being… Cas.
(There were times where Mary forgot Cas was an angel. Not in the sense that she was not always aware of the supernatural aura around Cas, but in the sense that sometimes Cas was so human. He was thoughtful and kind. His words were provoking and caring. His emotions were as volatile and as gentle as any man Dean had ever known.
Perhaps better than most men Dean had known. More human than some men that Dean had known.)
“I meant the whole boy meets girl thing.” She gestured with her free hand. “I mean the movie dates and the plastic solo cups. It’s all so… basic.”
“Not exactly the boomboxes and the mermaids, is it?” Sam smiled gently, nodding. “I guess people just like it… simple. Y’know? That love can just be something as simple as movie dates and sharing milkshakes.”
Dean ran his fingers through his hair, rubbing at the back of his neck. Sam nailed it on the head. The best part of movies was that they were simple, and you always knew how they were gonna end.
(The hero always beat the bad guy, always saved the girl, always lived happily ever after. Didn’t mean Dean didn’t like movies where the cowboy rode off—grievously injured—into the sunset where you knew he would fall off of his horse after the fade to black. It was just that sometimes—
Dean knew that was going to be his ending. The cowboy holding his bleeding side. No one beside him but his trusty horse. Orange sunset on his face. That’s where his life was heading.
So sometimes it was just… nice. To pretend those stories didn’t exist. And Dean wasn’t living in one.)
“I guess,” Mary sighed, “I just miss the romance of it.” She looked forlornly at her drink. Dean wondered if she was thinking of John. Thinking of a jukebox and Zeppelin songs that he knew all the words to.
“I suppose everyone has their own unique definition of romance,” Cas offered diplomatically. “Humans tend to think romantic actions are circumstantial rather than objective.” He turned a small smile to Dean. “Take for example movie dates.”
Scoffing, Dean rolled his eyes. “Just ‘cause I like movies doesn't mean I think that’s romantic.” He could feel his cheeks burn, causing him to scratch at his scruff with an index finger. He was going to have to shave, wasn’t he? His hair was getting long—
“What.” Jack’s voice pulled Dean from his pondering. It sounded a touch colder than Dean was used to coming from the kid. Usually, Jack was sunshine and rainbows. Storm clouds and thunder. A spitting image of his dad—the one he called dad—but softer. Softer because Cas had done his damnedest to not let Jack be hardened into a soldier.
(Not like Dean had been. Not like Sam had been.)
“What what?” Dean furrowed his brow. Sighing, he rested his forearms on the table. “Look, movie nights? They’re nice for getting a girl alone in the dark and getting handsy on the couch or whatever,” he shook his head. “But romantic? Hardly.”
(He wanted to say that he didn’t believe in romance. Maybe because he didn’t want to believe that romance was out there, but not for him. It was hard to say that though, when thinking of his mother and her Zeppelin songs.
When thinking of a tape full of Zeppelin songs.
So he didn’t say any of that.)
“So,” Cas began slowly, “you don’t like movie dates.” He nodded, folding his hands on the table in front of him. “I see. What sort of dates would you prefer?”
Dean quirked a brow at Cas, letting out a chuckle. “Cas, I don’t do dates.” He shot a wry grin toward his brother. “Sammy prefers the wining and dining, but I’m more straight forward. If I want to hook up with someone, I just ask.” Looking at his hands, Dean confessed softer than he had meant to. “I’m too old for messin’ around.”
(And it was true. He was too old for it. He was still a handsome son of a gun. Still drew some attention, but—
But any time he had tried, he found himself just wanting to be home. Just wanting to be on that couch with Cas beside him and Jack sitting at their feet watching a movie. Sam and Mary coming and going as they pleased but there. Home.)
“You don’t… date?” Mary’s voice sounded careful and her gaze felt scrutinizing. “I—I was under the impression—”
“Mom,” Dean stopped her, feeling an embarrassed flush overcome his features. “C’mon. Don’t pretend like people didn’t do hookups back in your day too.” He tried to come off as teasing. Tried to lighten whatever was strengthening Jack’s glare, whatever was making Cas’ eyes grow a far distance away, whatever was raising Sam’s hand to his forehead.
Jack fixed his jaw and Dean had to swallow the bile that rose in his throat. He could recognize that look from the mirror. And that was a terrifying thought, that Jack looked anything like him.
(Made him think about the weeks where Jack was living with John Winchester. Made Dean wake up in a cold sweat that maybe Jack had been learning from them during that time too. That despite Cas’ hard work, Dean would’ve turned Jack into John anyway.)
“Movie dates aren’t romantic,” Jack listed, “and you only want to hook up?”
(And none of that was really true, was it? Dean liked watching movies. And he liked doing it with Cas. He had admitted as much to himself even if the circumstances of those daydreams weren’t romantic.
But the idea of it being romantic wasn’t lost on Dean. That he could want it to be romantic. If asked, though, he’d say maybe movie watching was more domestic. Somehow that meant more to Dean. His little house and his little family watching a film, Cas pressing close and smiling.
But he wouldn’t say that. Couldn’t say that.)
“Love isn’t like the movies, Jack,” Dean huffed. “And I sure as hell don’t want it.”
This was where we were now. Dean’s shirt soaked. Mary gasping. Sam’s face in his hands. Cas’ face being etched with something sharp.
“Jack!” Mary reprimanded, hand resting on his shoulder.
Jack held his chin up in the air, looking down at Dean despite not having the height on him. “Isn’t it customary that when the guy says something stupid, the girl throws her drink at him?” His eyes squinted, head tilting, and it might have made Dean’s heart seize in his chest despite the frightening cold from the water clinging to his chest. “Cas is too kind to do it, so I did it for him.”
Cas was too kind for a lot of things, but—
“Thank you, Jack, but there is no need.” Cas spoke softly, but his face did not reflect that gentleness he always aimed at his son. Instead his eyes were still distant. Still lacking that shade of blue. “I believe this is, ah.” He shook his head and Dean could recognize that self-deprecating crook of his mouth from any distance. “This is the part of the film where the girl grossly misunderstands what is happening.”
“Can someone explain to me what is going on?” Dean snapped, jerking into action to dot at his shirt with napkins. “I’m freezing in Nebraska and we’re still talking about chick-flicks! Life isn’t a movie!”
The crook of Cas’ mouth shrunk, turning a touch sad. “I know,” he spoke calmly and pushed himself out of the booth. “If you’ll excuse me, I think I need some fresh air.”
No one kindly mentioned that Cas had never needed air before.
Dean was left staring at Cas' retreating form, that trenchcoat quickly crossing the horizon. It reminded Dean of the cowboy movies he had been thinking of. The injured cowboy carrying himself out of town, retreating from burdening his loss of life on anyone else. Bleeding and lonely.
Silence fell over the table, the napkins clutched in Dean’s grip quickly soaking some of the water from his shirt but doing little else to dry him. Sam’s elbow thunked against the table and shook Dean out of his reverie.
“So…” Mary began slowly. “You and Cas… aren’t dating?” She cautiously spoke, pushing her mug closer to the window as if that might spare it of whatever her words would stir within Dean.
(There was, admittedly, only one thought to cross Dean’s mind.
No, that wasn’t true.
There were precisely twenty-five different thoughts that had crossed Dean’s mind all at once. The largest of these—the loudest of these—was in a voice Dean ignored.)
“Mom, what the hell?” Dean furrowed his brow. “Cas is my best friend!”
Mary looked contrite, thinning her lips into a line. “I know that,” she reassured gently, “I just thought that…”
“Thought what? We were playing tonsil hockey or something?”
“Gross, Dean,” Sam sighed, rubbing at the bridge of his nose. He lifted his gaze to meet Mary’s across from him. “No, they’re just. Always like that.”
Dean swiveled to face Sam. Sammy was always insightful and usually right. But sometimes he spouted things that just… they didn’t—
(It didn’t make sense. To think of Cas and Dean as Cas and Dean. Not when Cas could never feel that way. Not when Dean was adamantly not thinking about it.)
“You told us that guys ask girls to movies when they like them!” Jack argued, pointing a finger accusingly at Dean.
“I what?” Dean furrowed his brow. “We do movie nights all the time! Watching a movie with someone isn’t a date!”
Jack turned to his pancakes with that same laser glare. Kryptonian son of a Kryptonian man. Super-human strength in the most unassuming package. Maybe the kid would have laser eyes. “We asked you why guys asked girls out to the movies in movies, and you said it’s just what people do.” He huffed. “Then you asked Cas to watch a movie. Isn’t that just what people do?”
It was then Dean realized he had no idea what conversation Jack was referring to, and he would have asked as much had it not suddenly come to his realization that—
(That—)
“Cas thought I was dating him?” Dean let out in a harsh whisper that felt like a whip to his heart.
Jack stabbed at his pancake, muggish and solemn with his movements. “I was so excited. I thought I had figured it out.” He let out a slow breath. “Cas tried telling me that… that sometimes humans say things and don’t mean it, but I thought…” Jack rested his chin on his balled fist. “And Mary said that her husband gave her a mixtape of Zeppelin too, so I thought—”
“Wait, wait,” Dean waved his hands in front of himself, speaking over Sam’s squeaking. He could feel his brain fritzing. Blowing smoke and threatening to stop in its tracks and never resume to whatever destination it had been plummeting toward. “Stop. Cas thought I was dating him. And he never said anything.”
Sam snorted a laugh, cracking a smile for the first time since this whole conversation had started. “When have you ever known Cas to say something?” He shook his head, hair curtaining his face. “He’s like the definition of happy with what we have.”
“Another movie trope!” Jack pointed with his fork, lifting his head from his plate. He turned with his silverware pointed at Dean this time. “See? You guys are like a movie!”
“It’s exhausting,” Mary let out in a quiet breath.
Dean could see her mulling over her abandoned coffee before he was distracted by Jack brandishing the fork near his face. He pushed the fork away with a single finger, furrowing his brow.
“We’re not a movie,” he admonished. “We’re people. People who’ve got—” Dean felt the words snap in his throat, clogging it with something thick. “He’s Cas. I’m me. Got it?”
“What the hell does that mean?” Sam furrowed his brow, matching Dean and leaning forward across the table. “You’re you and he’s him. Cut the bullshit, Dean.” Dean could feel Sam’s eyes on him like a searchlight. Felt it beam into every nook and cranny Dean kept hidden. Spotting the rats and the liter festering in corners.
Shaking his head, Dean pushed himself up from the booth. “I’m not having this conversation with you.” He spoke pointedly, looking at his family. His little, broken family.
(He could remember Lilo & Stitch. That had been one that Jack had insisted on watching. Dean couldn’t deny the kid the full cinema experience for a classic.
Sitting on the couch, watching the film, Dean could spy the intensity in Cas’ gaze. The way the green of the film reflected on his blue eyes. Dean caught himself before he leaned into Cas too far, but Cas caught the movement. Caught him staring.
“I just…” Cas had trailed off. “I hadn’t realized how much I could relate to a small, animated alien.” He shrugged. “I suppose now I understand how you could form a parasocial relationship with the talking dog.”
How could Dean put into words how much Cas was Stitch? Something alien and far away. An answer to silent prayers. Something that added to their small and broken family.
But still good.
Yeah, still good.
Instead he had just shrugged, made some remark about Scooby-Doo being everyone’s best friend until Sam had aggressively shushed him into silence.)
The problem was Dean knew he had to talk about it. What was worse was that he knew who he had to talk to. This wasn’t a conversation for his family in the middle of Nebraska. This was a conversation for Cas—wherever he was.
Running his fingers through his hair in aggravation, Dean could feel his boots stomp across the floor. He could hear Sam sigh and place his palm to his forehead. Feel Jack’s Kryptonian stare. Sense his mother’s fight-or-flight instinct kicking in.
(The truth was this:
Dean wanted to run too. Wanted to hide away from this conversation and never resurface. Hide beneath every shout from every hunter he had seen growing up.
But he was getting too old for this shit. And he was tired. And Sammy was always insightful and usually right. And if Dean’s gut was saying what Dean’s heart hoped it was saying? Well.
Well.)
“Cas,” Dean called out, spotting the slowly soaking shoulders of his trenchcoated angel as soon as he turned the corner. “Why the hell are you standing in the rain, man?”
Cas sighed, turning his heavenward face to the concrete. “I wanted to take a walk. It started raining. I didn’t let it deter me.”
“Doesn’t look like you did much walkin’,” Dean gestured to how close the diner was. Its comfortable brickwork was still three feet from Cas’ figure. Stepping closer, Dean inhaled sharply. “Cas, talk to me.”
“What would you like me to say, Dean?” Cas furrowed his brow, turning his entire body to face Dean. Dean didn’t know which was worse. The sharpened profile made of millennial old granite, or the thousand eyed stare that had raised him from perdition.
(It was neither of these.
It was a pair of blue eyes, a shade darker than those of Jimmy Novak’s, staring at him in a barn. Telling him he deserved to be saved. And continuing to tell him he deserved to be saved twelve years later.
That was the face that did Dean in. Always.)
Huffing, Dean could feel an instinctual, defensive fire burn in his chest. “First off, you could start with how the hell I was supposed to guess we started dating.”
Cas’ face hardened and crumbled. It reminded Dean of an old cookie. Stale and full of raisins. It was hard to look at. “We never started dating, Dean.” He spoke sharply. “I… I had made an assumption, and I know what people say about assuming.”
“Let me get this straight,” Dean shook his head. “My best friend of twelve years thinks I asked him out on a movie date in front of his kid, yeah?” He did not wait for Cas’ answer before continuing. “Then he just, what? Thinks that nothing would change? We’d just keep watching movies together forever?”
“I would ask for nothing else,” Cas confessed and his whisper was almost lost to the sound of the rain picking up, thundering against the roof of the diner beside them. “Nothing had to change. Nothing has to change.”
Dean growled. “Then why storm out, huh?” He bit. “If nothing has to change, why are you out here taking a smoke break in the rain?”
Cas inhaled sharply, turning away from Dean. “I…” he began, “I thought for once we were on the same page.” He let out a breath. “I just needed time to… think. Reconceptualize some things.”
“Reconceptualize things.” Dean echoed, ignoring the increase of the rain falling on his skin. “Cas, I don’t even know what to say.” He threw his arms with a shrug. “What am I supposed to say?”
Hadn’t he known what conversation he was supposed to have? Why was it so hard to speak to Cas about this?
Wasn’t it supposed to be easy? If Dean wanted this, and Cas wanted this, then wasn’t it that simple? Just like a movie?
(The problem, Dean figured, was this:
He actually didn’t know what Cas wanted at all.
All that time thinking Cas couldn’t. Wouldn’t. Now here they were, and Cas thought they were dating, but he hadn’t done any of the things Dean would have done if they were dating. What would dating Cas even be like? What they had already been doing for weeks? Years?)
“Cas,” Dean inhaled a fortifying breath. “Man, what do you want?”
Cas brow furrowed and his head tilted, scrutinizing Dean. Being solely under that powerful gaze made Dean shiver. The angel’s eyes widened and he took a measured step forward. “You should get out of the rain—”
“No!” Dean gripped tightly at Cas’ shoulders. “No, I’m not leaving until you tell me what you want Cas!” He shouted and he was certain his voice would have bounced throughout the nearly empty parking lot of the diner had it not been for the deafening rain.
“What do I want?” Cas shouted in equal force. He shrugged Dean’s hands off of his shoulders, pressing forward into Dean’s space.
(Suddenly, Dean was reminded of an alley. Of Michael and Lucifer. Of Cas pressing him against the cold, damp wall. Beating his convictions into him.
It felt holy, those dangerous touches. Punishment at the hands of an angry god reminding Dean what he was fighting for. Even if he hadn’t lost sight of it yet, and even if Dean didn’t know it yet—
Cas would always hold him to that.)
“What I want,” Cas growled, eyes squinting against Dean’s features sharply, “is the one thing that I know I can’t have—”
“And how do you know?” Snapping, Dean took the last step between them. Their faces were close as they had been in the past, but…
But it had been so long since Dean had been this close to him. And it was somehow not close enough.
Cas’ eyes widened, breath that he didn’t need hitching. Dean watched in fascination as the blue of his eyes was slowly overtaken by the dark of his pupils. His crows feet somehow diminished with his wide eyes.
Youthful.
He looked like an echo of a Cas Dean once knew. But this was the Cas Dean always knew. Just older. Wiser. Kinder.
(And Dean loved him more with every day.)
“Cas, I'm tired.” Dean confessed. “I'm tired of lying to myself. I’m tired of pretending that I don't—I can’t—” he stumbled over his words, searching for some hidden strength that might have resided on Cas’ skin. “I keep telling myself you couldn’t ever feel like… like that. And it’s easier that way. Maybe if you can’t ever feel like that, then it’ll never happen so why should I hope for anything else, right?”
Cas made to interrupt him, but Dean wasn’t finished. Not by a mile. And Dean had been driving all of his life. Knew the comfort of driving. There was something like that here, with Cas.
(There always had been.
On a park bench in a small town Dean couldn’t even remember the name of. Cas saying he wasn’t a hammer. Dean listening. The first smile or the first joke that wasn’t a barb. Or both.)
“But that's bullshit, isn't it? ‘Cause you feel like nobody I’ve ever met, Cas.” Dean laughed breathlessly and it felt like oxygen deprivation. The kind that made you dizzy and squeezed your chest. “You feel so much all the damn time. That's the whole reason Naomi hated your guts. You’ve got this—this heart, man, and I gotta tell you, I’m jealous.
I’m jealous of every person who gets that from you. That gets a piece of you. ‘Cause I want all of it. Isn’t that nuts, man? That I’m too chicken shit to get over myself but I want you completely like that?” Dean gulped in a fresh lungful of air but he still felt like he was choking. Cas’ eyes taking on the appearance of mist, glistening and open, growing the thing beating its way out of Dean’s ribcage.
Dean swallowed, closing his eyes and trying to finish what he had to say. What he knew he had to say. Dean wasn’t good at talking. He didn’t like talking.
(But he loved Cas.
That probably balanced it out.)
“I’m scared, Cas,” came the confessional, “I’m terrified that I’m gonna—about everything.” Opening his eyes, Dean looked to Cas again. Found the remainder of the strength he needed looking back at him so intensely. “But there’s, uh, there’s this guy who sort of makes me feel better. About all of that. And I think I could move fucking mountains for him if he asked me to.”
“Dean,” and Cas spoke it like absolution. Like forgiveness for all the things that Dean had done. All he would ever do.
(And maybe he did. Maybe Cas did forgive Dean of it. There was so much to forgive. Little to forget. But maybe—
Maybe Cas saw Dean. All of Dean. The John Winchester that he was and the John Winchester he could be. The Mark of Cain on his arm and the Demon in his eyes.
But maybe he saw Lilo, too. On her knees and praying. Hoping. Someone who was trying.
And god.
Did he want to try.)
Licking his lips, Dean’s eyes flickered to Cas’ mouth for a moment. “Y’know Cas,” Dean whispered. He couldn’t risk speaking louder. Not if it was going to break the spell. Not if it was going to fade to black before he could get this. “I’ve always wanted a movie kiss.”
Cas’ smile spread gently across his face like warm butter over morning toast. “I thought you said life wasn’t a movie.”
Dean chuckled, ducking his head in hopes that Cas wouldn’t catch the burning of his cheeks. He probably did, though. Cas was just observant like that. Knew Dean like that. Bringing his face back up to meet Cas’ gaze, Dean couldn’t help but smile wider.
“It isn’t usually,” he shrugged with a single shoulder. “But, uh, way I see it?” Dean leaned forward, brushing the tip of his nose along the bridge of Cas’. “I think we just might be.”
(And god that was corny. But Cas made Dean corny.
No.
Dean was corny. Cas just made Dean comfortable enough to be whatever he wanted to be. And what Dean was right now was kissing the love of his life in the rain, receiving a foot-popping silver screen worthy first kiss.
Fade to black. Roll credits. Cue the 90s pop cover of the title song.)

Relationship Q&A - Wildmoore Edition
Who confessed feelings first?
Sophie. Definitely Sophie. Ryan is too damn stubborn to admit or even realize that she has feelings for Sophie. Sophie knew for a while that she had feelings for Ryan and she had an inkling that Ryan liked her back but she knew that Ryan would not realize it or admit it if she did realize. Sophie admittedly wanted to start kissing Ryan and going out with her romantically instead of always leaving their hangouts feeling unsatisfied lol so she knew she had to make the first move. When she did, Ryan slapped her playfully on the arm and said, damn Soph, it took you look enough.
Nicknames for each other?
Ryan still calls Sophie, “Crowphie” but it’s endearing and playful and Sophie doesn’t mind it. She calls her, “Soph” as well. They both call each other bae, babe, boo, baby. Sophie calls Ryan, “Ry Ry” and also calls her “Shawty/shorty.” When they’re playing video games and it gets competitive, Ryan refers to herself as “Bdub” short for BW (batwoman). Bdub finna drop this 30 piece on your head Soph. Sophie usually let’s Ryan win when they play 2k because she thinks it’s cute when Ryan gets competitive and gloats.
Who apologizes first in fights?
Since they are enemies to lovers they are used to fighting with each other and not seeing eye to eye. So they don’t ever really freak out about a big fight. They know one of them will eventually come around. Even though Ryan is more stubborn and hard headed, it’s usually her that apologizes first. Sophie can’t stay mad at Ryan’s puppy dog face and her sweet smile. They always hug and then Ryan says, Soph, I’m sorry. And then Sophie immediately says, no, babe, I’m sorry. They are good at talking through their issues and know how to have  healthy communication Then once they talk they have a lot of make up sex and cuddles.
Who said I love you first?
Ryan said it first. Ryan was in the batsuit and she thought she was about to die after getting bested in a big fight. She turned on her comms and told Mary and Luke to get Sophie on the line.
Soph?
Yeah I’m here babe, what is it?
Sophie, I love you. Ryan said this with zero hesitation in her voice. She turned off the batsuit voice manipulator so that Sophie could hear Ryan’s real voice when she told her.
You wha-
I love you. I’m in love with you. And I have been for a while now. I wanted to tell you but I didn’t know the right time. I thought maybe I would take you to dinner at our favorite spot, but it doesn’t look like I’m gonna make it. Ryan’s breath was coming out in short bursts and she was struggling. Sophie heard the distress.
BABE, Ryan talk to me! What’s happening?
I’m ok, I just needed to tell you this incase I didn’t get the chance. I love you with my whole heart Sophie. You’re the most important thing in my life and I’m so glad I didn’t die before I met you.
Are you quoting a Bright Eyes song to me right now? Sophie let out a raspy laugh.
Damnit Soph, I’m trying to be serious here. I didn’t know you know that song.
Ryan, I hear you sing it to yourself literally every morning when you’re getting dressed.
Oh.
Ryan?
Yeah? Ryan’s voice comes out strained but she’s holding on.
I love you too. And you’re not dying today. Hang tight shorty. I’m on my way.
Who is the cuddler?
Ryan is more cuddly for sure. Ryan always wants cuddles even when Sophie isn’t in the mood. Ryan likes to act big and tough and she totally is but she’s also a huge softie. When Sophie is grumpy and they’re lying in bed together, Ryan rolls over and big spoons Sophie. When they’re on the couch watching movies, Ryan always wants the cuddles. She hasn’t felt very safe for most of her life and Sophie makes her feel safe. When she’s cuddled up with Sophie she feels like she’s in a cocoon where nothing and no one can harm her. Sophie has picked up on this being the reason Ryan cuddles so much and so she lets her do it whenever she wants even though Sophie isn’t the biggest cuddler.
Who wakes up first?
Sophie does. And she makes breakfast, has her coffee. Reads through her twitter news feed, takes a shower, brushes her teeth, does her hair, and gets dressed and is ready to go before Ryan gets out of bed. Ryan always marvels at how Sophie is always so prompt and ready. Sophie says it’s because of her military background. Ryan thinks it’s because Sophie has had trouble sleeping ever since Kate died (and then came back to life as something that is not Kate). Ryan knows Sophie doesn’t have feelings for Kate anymore and she’s not jealous. But she knows how traumatizing it was for Sophie and she’s had trouble sleeping ever since. Ryan hopes that some day she can wake up before Sophie because it will mean she has slept through the night comfortably, uninterrupted and unbothered by her worries.
Who falls asleep first?
Ryan usually does. Being Batwoman is tiring. They don’t tell you that when you sign up for this gig. Ryan usually knocks out on the couch while Sophie is making dinner or taking off her work clothes and slipping into something more comfortable. Sophie will come out of her room and see  Ryan curled up on the couch asleep. Sometimes she puts a blanket over her and then sits near her and runs her hands through Ryan’s hair or rubs her back. Or they will be watching TV or a movie and Ryan will fall asleep on Sophie’s shoulder. Sophie always finds these moment tender because it reminds her of when Batwoman, before she knew it was Ryan, rested her head on Sophie when she thought she was dying. Sophie likes listening to the sound of Ryan’s soft breathing, in and out in and out. It puts her at ease. And she often sneaks a kiss onto Ryan’s forehead. At night when they crawl into bed, Sophie will be telling Ryan about some new case and Ryan after a while will stop responding and Sophie will see that she’s fallen asleep. Sophie always finishes her story anyway and then she reads a book until she grows tired too and shuts off the light.
Who is more Romantic?
Ryan is. I told you she’s a big softie. She loves spoiling Sophie. She kisses her all the time, she’s always reaching for Sophie’s hand and interlocking their fingers. She makes playlists for Sophie, she goes all out on Sophie’s bday or just because. And she likes planning dinner dates for the two of them. Ryan has been out longer than Sophie and she is more used to the PDA and the dating and spoiling a girl thing. Sophie is still learning what it looks like to be romantic with another woman. Besides the sex and kissing which she is very good at. Sophie does go all out for Vday, Ryan’s bday, and Christmas though.
Who has more of a temper?
They both are hot heads and fly off the handle but it makes for great angry sex and make up sex.
What do they argue about the most?
The others’ safety.
Who is more jealous?
Neither of them are really the jealous type. They know they each only have eyes for each other. Before they started dating, they both were a little jealous of Mary. But it turns out Mary didn’t like either of them in that way and they were both didn’t like Mary in that way, they were just projecting. The conversation went something like this: I thought you liked Mary? What I thought you liked Mary? No. I like you. I like you too. Some girls at the bar do try and flirt with Ryan and if Sophie is there she just laughs. She finds it more amusing than anything. Because Ryan gets all cute and flustered. Ryan finds it funny when they’re out and guys try and hit on either one of them- assuming that the two are just gal pals. They shoot the guys down and then they laugh and say to each other, “why are we so hot?”
What do they do for fun/in their downtime?
Ryan and Sophie are both huge tomboys and so it makes for a fun relationship. They play fight a lot! Mary walks in on some of their playfights and thinks they are fighting for real and tries to break it up. Then when she realizes they are play fighting she gets grossed out and says, ew is this foreplay?? They go mini golfing, bowling, go to the shooting range because Ryan wants to learn how to shoot like Sophie. They go to arcades, and they go to amusement parks and movies. When they’re at home they like to watch streaming services, watch sports, read, watch movies, take naps, and order take out. They like trying new places and ordering food for each other from the new places- and if they order food the other likes then they get a point, if they order food the other person doesn't like then they don’t get a point. Whoever gets 10 points doesn’t have to pay on their next date.
Favorite thing about each other:
Sophie likes Ryan’s lips, Ryan likes Sophie’s eyes. Ryan likes that Sophie is not scared of standing up for herself or what she thinks is right. She likes her bravery and courage. She likes how bad ass Sophie is but also how she is so kind and sweet. She likes Sophie’s raspy voice. She won’t admit it but she likes how Sophie proved Ryan wrong. She likes that she kept her secret as Batwoman and how she isn’t like the Crows in the way she thought Sophie was. Sophie likes Ryan’s cute smile and puppy dog eyes. She likes Ryan’s unwavering confidence and strength. She likes that Ryan doesn’t back down and that she protects the people that she loves with her whole heart. She likes that Ryan isn’t afraid of anyone and will challenge and step up to anyone. They both love how the other loves them. They both love how safe, and protected the other one makes them feel.

Ch 7: Lay All Your Love On Me
If someone were to ask how Niccolo's day went: normal would be an understatement.
The stage was all set. The only thing missing was the star of the show (aka his fiance, Sasha). Niccolo was happy with the way everything turned out. It took a lot of her friends and locals to agree on it and perfect it. Now he just needs to pick up Sasha from the hotel and show her the surprise before she leaves for her bachelorette party.
If only she would pick up her phone first. Niccolo decided to check the hotel first since she frequents there the most.
It's simple. It's quick. It's just one task! What could possibly go wrong?
---
At the hotel
"So I'm thinking, what if we locked Eren and Mikasa in a room together and let them out after they confess?" Historia was pacing around the kitchen while going over her matchmaking plans with Hitch. Her white sundress swayed around as she walked. Meanwhile, Hitch was leaning on the counter and was eating an apple. She wore a green romper. Her green eyes followed Historia’s pacing.
It’s been over an hour since the girls spread out around the island acting as lookouts for Niccolo. Hitch and Historia decided to pair up and stay in the hotel just in case Niccolo comes back. Historia also took the liberty to get Sasha’s phone she left in her room, turn it off, and hide it in case Niccolo decides to spam her with phone calls.
Hitch swallows the food in her mouth and shakes her head in disapproval. "Bad idea. Remember what happened with Armin the last time I tried to throw them in a locked room together. I doubt Mikasa would appreciate it if something happened to her precious Eren.”
Historia hums in agreement and stops pacing. She begins to panic. Well, there goes her plan. Now she needs to come up with something else before tomorrow. Now, what is she supposed to do? Those two have liked each other for God knows how long except them! Honestly, it was kind of annoying watching whatever dance they were dancing. If only Ymir were here to help. She would actually push them into a closet and expect something to happen.
Pushing them together. huh…
Hitch noticed the mischievous gleam in Historia’s eyes. It seems Ymir has been influencing her lately.
“What are you thinking about, Historia?” she asks curiously.
Historia sways slightly from her spot. “What if we try to get them together at the reception. You know? We push them to dance.”
Hitch contemplates it and sets her apple down on the counter. That could work, maybe something earlier in the day could be a better option though.
“What if we invite the guys to go with us to the beach tomorrow? We can even get two birds with one stone!”
Historia gasps. “That’s perfect!” She walks over to Hitch and raises her hand up for a high five. “I’m so excited! Mikasa and Hanami better thank us at their weddings!” she huffs with triumph.
Hitch laughs and high fives Historia. It seems like Ymir has definitely influenced Historia after all.
Historia rubs her hands together with excitement. This plan they come up with will be executed flawlessly. She (and everyone in their group) are tired of watching those four dancing around.
“Now I think Hanami does not need much pushing from us. She just needs to stop what she’s doing for once and look at her surroundings.”
Hitch nods in agreement. “I agree. That girl is going to find something new to do once the wedding is over. She needs time to herself too.”
“Exactly! Now, this is what I’ve been thinking about. When-” Historia was interrupted by the door opening. Niccolo walks into the kitchen with a huge grin on his face.
“Historia? Hitch? Have you seen Sasha? I’ve been looking for her, and she’s not picking up her phone.”
Both girls shook their heads simultaneously. They did their best to look natural and convince Niccolo they haven’t seen her recently.
“No. Sasha was heading to Finikas with Annie and Mina,” Historia says. She wasn’t technically lying. Annie and Mina did go to Finikas, just without Sasha.
“Your best bet is to head there,” Hitch adds while shrugging her shoulders and feigning innocence.
Niccolo sighs. He can understand why Sasha would not be at the hotel since it’s already the afternoon. Knowing her, she could still be devouring a feast as he speaks.
“Thank you for letting me know. I have to find her right away.” He waves at the girls goodbye and heads back into town towards the restaurant. Hopefully, she is still with Annie and Mina.
Historia and Hitch watch as Niccolo runs off. Hitch could already tell what Historia was thinking and pulled out her phone. “I’m on it,” she says and texts the group chat that Niccolo was on the move.
Historia sighs with relief after Hitch hit send. “Let’s go over our plans now. We’re running out of time.”
---
Somewhere in town
Being friends with one of the island’s popular residents has its perks. The locals know who you are, and you can get great deals or free food. Sometimes, the fame even spreads to the resident’s friend group.
So when the owners of Finikas set up a huge surprise lunch for the daughter of the island’s sweetheart, they were expecting Sasha to be there. The only problem was that she was busy at the moment. The owners found Sasha’s friends heading back from the pier expecting Sasha to be within the group. They were sad after they noticed Sasha’s absence in the group, so Mina (bless her heart) decided to step up; so the food does not go to waste. She even asked Annie to accompany her because she is the closest to her, leading up to now.
Annie and Mina were walking through the streets of Kalokairi to head back to the hotel. Their stomachs were so full that anyone could see their bellies sticking out through their blouses. They even had to loosen their shorts a bit to accommodate the amount of food they ate. The girls decided to walk back to the hotel to burn off the food and take a nap before the bachelorette party.
“Next time, let’s get Sasha to eat the food for us to make up for today,” Mina complains as she rubs her full stomach. The owners were so grateful for Annie and Mina that they decided to make them another feast for the two when they get married. They appreciated the thought, but who knows after today. There were many meat items out. It was definitely made for Sasha.
Annie only nods and rubs her stomach. This was the most food she’s eaten in her life, and she could feel the sleep entering her body.
Mina glances at Annie as she walks. “Thank you for eating that last slice of baklava. Any more for me and I would’ve blown up!” she takes her hands off her stomach and pushes it away from her body to mimic an explosion.
Annie weakly waves her off. “It’s ok. I don’t mind eating it.”
“Thank goodness for your sweet tooth.” Mina jokes and Annie actually laughs at it. They continue walking in silence. Annie looks over at Mina to find her looking deep in thought.
“Something on your mind?”
“Do you know what the guys are doing? They have been really busy since we left to meet up with Historia and Mikasa.”
Annie shrugs her shoulders. “Who knows? All I know is that it’s a surprise for Sasha and only Hanami knows what’s going on.” Even Armin never told her specifically what was going on or why only Hanami is aware. He did mention to her how it was going to be memorable and most likely make her laugh.
Mina looks at her with shock. She was unaware of the surprise at all. “Does anyone else know about it?”
Both girls laugh. Annie and Mina are close, and Mina considers herself lucky for befriending Annie when they met. She remembers how Annie intimidated her at first impressions.
Speaking of their friends. What was the status of the other girls and Niccolo?
“Hey, Annie.”
Annie hums in response. “Is there any news on the girls about Niccolo’s whereabouts?” The girls had split up after Sasha went with her dads. As far as Annie and Mina know, they have no idea where Niccolo was. They had muted their phones earlier to focus on the multiple plates of food in front of them.
Annie takes her phone out of her shorts pocket, and Mina does the same. They turn it on and swipe their screens to open the group chat. Suddenly, both girls froze, and their faces contoured in shock as they read the message.
Hitch: Niccolo is heading your way! I repeat, Niccolo is heading your way!!!
Oh no.
“Annie! Mina! I need your help!”
Their eyes widen with shock. What were the odds that Niccolo would suddenly show up now?
Niccolo runs up to the girls and stops to catch his breath. Annie and Mina could tell that he ran there based on the sheen of sweat on his face.
“Have you seen Sasha? Hitch and Historia told me she was here with you.”
Mina (fake) gasps. “You just missed her. She’s heading to Limnonari beach with Hanami.” She looks away and shakes her head to show fake disappointment.
Niccolo sighs and rubs his temples. A crease started to form between his eyebrows. This is the second time today! She eats a huge feast and then goes swimming after? On the other side of the island too! As if any of that makes sense.
“Thank you. Let me know if you see her around.”
Annie smiles and waves him off. “Will do.”
Niccolo smiles back and runs off in the direction of the beach. Both girls let out a breath of relief and start walking back to the hotel again.
“I’m ready for a nap,” Annie complains after everything that occurred today.
Mina nods her head in agreement. You and me both, Annie.
---
A different part of town
Meanwhile, Mikasa and Eren were getting dinner together, sharing stories, and catching up after not seeing each other for almost a year now. Both of them have been busy since they graduated high school. Mikasa with her modeling career and Eren was studying for med school. Mikasa wore a light pink sundress, flip flops, and had sunglasses resting on top of her head. The male, Eren, wore more casual clothing compared to Mikasa. He had on a tank top, cargo shorts, and sandals on his feet.
Mikasa and Hanami paired up together after Annie and Mina left the group. The two were strolling through town when they ran into Eren who was about to get dinner. Hanami, not wanting to third wheel and to give the two some privacy, excused herself by claiming something about how Connie needed her to help with some stuff and ran off to find him (but not before giving her a thumbs up before leaving). Thus leading up to now. Mikasa and Eren were spending some alone time together.
Mikasa stared at Eren’s features. His face had matured and looked more defined. His hair was much longer now, and he even tied it up in a man bun. Mikasa noticed the many glances from the girls passing by their table. They were looking at him. (Can she blame them, though? He really is handsome in her eyes.) Yet, despite the stares, his eyes remained on her. All of his attention was on her.
Mikasa listened as Eren told his story. He talked about how his parents were doing well over in Japan and even promised to bring back some stuff for Mikasa. She misses them dearly and even sees them as her own parents.
Eren’s parents have done so much for her ever since Mikasa has arrived on the island. More than her real family really. The last she heard from her great aunt, Kiyomi Azumabito, was a few months ago when she congratulated Mikasa on her latest modelling gig. She even offered to make Mikasa a dress for Sasha’s wedding to which Mikasa refused but thanked her for the offer anyway.
Mikasa misses Grisha and Carla Jaeger dearly and even sees them as her own parents. She hopes to see them again when they get back from their trip. The Jaeger family were always there to support her and make her comfortable when she had no one.
Who knows? Maybe there was a chance for her to become Mikasa Jaeger one day.
“Is there something on my face?” Eren asks with genuine concern.
“No! You look good! No, wait. I mean the food looks good. Sorry, it's just been so long since we've last seen each other.” Mikasa exclaims, hoping Eren did not take her staring in a different context.
“I agree.” Eren nods his head. “You look like a goddess now and could probably make Aphrodite jealous. Are you sure you’re not running for the next Miss Universe?” he replies nonchalantly.
Mikasa blushes. Who is this Eren and what happened to Eren she knew before? He was never this bold!
Eren laughs at her response. He thinks it is really cute, but he won't voice that yet.
“Now that you mention it...I’ve considered it. I think Historia has a better shot of being Miss Universe though.”
Eren shakes his head. Historia is a good candidate, yes, but Mikasa could steal the spotlight too. “Mikasa. I’m sure the judges would be blown away by you if you try. Even Historia would support you if you win or lose. Actually, everyone on the island will support you. You're the personification of inspiration for others.”
He leans forward and gives her a goofy grin. “I’ll be there as your number one supporter no matter what you choose. I know you are for me, and that’s how I’m going through college now.”
Mikasa looks away from Eren's eyes. She was still blushing from earlier. He can’t do something like that without expecting her to blush. She needs to change topics quick.
“Oh, thank goodness I ran into you, Mikasa! Have you seen Sasha? I checked the hotel and Finikas, and she was not there.”
Mikasa was unsure if she should be happy or not. On one hand, she doesn’t have to worry about Eren praising her. On the other hand, Niccolo is here.
(Mikasa would have known earlier had she not silenced her phone from the constant messages in the group chat)
Mikasa knew she had to come up with something fast. All Niccolo knows is that Sasha ate a huge feast and is heading to the beach. Like that was the best excuse the girls can come up with.
“She passed by me earlier on my way here, but now she’s gone. You see..” She briefly glances over at Eren who was watching her expectantly. He was curious about what Mikasa would do since he did not see Sasha when he ran into Mikasa. She looks into Niccolo’s eyes with a serious expression.
“She ripped a huge fart earlier and ran off to the bathroom with Hanami. That’s what happens when you eat a huge feast for lunch, you know. She would’ve told you earlier, their phones died. They were so excited by me and Historia’s arrival to think about charging it.” she says while trying to shrug it off. In reality, Mikasa was internally panicking. She prayed that Niccolo didn't run into Connie on his way here. Would Niccolo really believe that his fiance had to go to the bathroom after eating so much? Mikasa has seen Sasha eat so much back in high school, and she was fine!
Mikasa was also cringing on the inside. She had to pull a tactic only one of Sasha’s potential fathers (who Mikasa also prays is not related to) would do. The man told Hange poop jokes for crying out loud!
Unknowingly to Mikasa, Eren had to cover his mouth with his hand to hide his smirk. He was trying his best not to laugh out loud and ruin whatever Mikasa was trying to get at. He wanted to see how all of this would play out.
Niccolo just stares at Mikasa. He does have to agree that Sasha was really excited about for her friend’s arrival. In his opinion, Mikasa is the one who would tell you the truth. He tries to make sense of everything in his head.
“Wait. So you’re telling me that Sasha went to Finikas with Annie and Mina, met up with Hanami to go to the beach, both of their phones died, they ran into you on the way there, and are now in the bathroom?”
“Yes, Niccolo,” Mikasa points off in the direction to a random bathroom she can think of that’s at least far away from here.
Niccolo looks over in the direction to where Mikasa was pointing to and debates if he should interrogate her any further. While Mikasa is the one who would tell you the answer straight up, she is also very intimidating. To be honest, Niccolo would rather not get hit with any MMA moves from someone who is also a model. He’s going to have to trust her although the story he got was kind of ridiculous.
Eren, watching the whole thing, now leans forward with interest and continues hiding his smile behind his hand. He tried his best to not laugh or show any indication he was just as long as Niccolo or Mikasa didn’t look at him closely.
Niccolo sighs. He made up his mind already. “Alright. I will head over and check up on Sasha. I'll make sure she’s ok.”
“Thank you, Niccolo.”
Niccolo nods in response and heads over to wherever Sasha was.
Once Niccolo was out of sight, Eren burst into laughter. It shocked Mikasa and anyone nearby. (including those girls who were checking him out). He leaned back in his chair and almost fell over had he not grabbed the table on time to steady himself.
“Oh, Mikasa,” Eren laughs as he wipes away a tear. “I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s a good thing I didn’t say anything. You really know how to make my day.”
Mikasa does not reply and turns red for the third time that day.
---
Meanwhile, Niccolo does not get too far when he receives a text from Marlowe.
Marlowe: Sasha is near Kastani Beach
What is going on? Niccolo thought after he read the text. He starts heading towards the beach. Looks like he has to take a detour.
---
Present
Sasha glances over behind Niccolo's shoulder. There was a lifejacket laying on the sand.
She pulls her head away from Niccolo but keeps one arm around his body. She uses her free arm to point at the lifejacket behind him.
"What's the life jacket for?"
Niccolo briefly glances at it and laughs. His eyes were filled with mirth before looking down to meet Sasha's brown eyes.
"It's for my stag do remember?" Sasha wanted to slap herself. How could Sasha forget! She's been so busy with her big surprise that it briefly slipped her mind. Then again, who knows what Hanami and Jean have in store for the both of them.
Niccolo lets go of Sasha. He turns away from her and walks only a few feet away towards some rocks. “You know, they say a stag do is my last night of freedom.” He stops and turns to her with a smirk on his face.
Sasha rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. “Oh really?” she challenges with a smirk on her face.
Niccolo turns around fully to face Sasha again and begins walking back to her. “Some people see it that way.” he holds his arms up in front of him for reassurance.
“But for me…” He puts his left hand on Sasha’s shoulders and picks up one of her hands with his right. “It is the last night before the greatest adventure of my life. You.” he finishes with a kiss on her knuckles with the hand he was holding.
Sasha pulls away with a blush and laughs. She considers herself lucky to get the chance to marry such a wonderful and charming man tomorrow. Sasha had made up her mind already after thinking about her girl talk earlier that day. She is going to tell Niccolo about her fathers.
“Hey…” she begins and catches Niccolo’s attention. “You know how I said I wanted to find my father-”
“Sasha, we’ve been over this a million times.” He says while placing his hands on her shoulders and looking deep into her eyes. “You don't need a father, you have a family.”
“And you’ll never leave me right?” Sasha asks with her hands on her hips. She was praying Niccolo won't leave after the big reveal, which she might have to push back to tomorrow.
“Are you kidding me? You have turned my world upside down.”
Sasha smirks. Now, this is something she wants to hear for herself. “How so?”
Niccolo laughs and pulls Sasha closer to his body. She wraps her arms around his waist in response. He might as well feed Sasha’s ego based on the look on her face.
“Well...there was that moment we first met. When I heard you praise my food, it hit me like I was a sitting duck. I knew at that moment that I was already falling for you.”
Sasha laughs giddily at Niccolo’s words. She starts to sway a bit and looks into Niccolo’s green eyes.
“Can I tell you something, Niccolo?”
He nods in response while keeping eye contact with Sasha. “Sometimes I feel a bit of fear when I don’t have you near. What did you do to me?”
Niccolo leans down slightly and rubs his nose gently against Sasha’s. He rests his forehead against Sasha’s and takes a deep breath.
“There’s something I need to tell you.” Sasha looks at him curiously.
“I am actually Eros and I shot an arrow through your heart, so that’s why you fell for me.”
“Shut up!” Sasha laughs and pulls away from Niccolo. She lightly punches his arm.
Niccolo laughs along with Sasha while silently thanking her for not punching him hard. He has no idea where her strength even came from. Maybe she got it from Hange?
He reaches forward and pulls Sasha, who is still laughing. back to him.
“Remember that time when you met my parents in Italy, and we went fishing?”
How could she forget? It was the first time she ever went fishing with a trident.
“How can I?” Sasha replies. She pulls one arm away and starts flexing it to show off her muscles to Niccolo. “I caught the biggest marlin out there!”
Niccolo laughs and gently grabs Sasha’s hand to stop her from showing off. He moves his hand to grab her hand and the other to cup her cheek.
“I know,” he says gently. “You even gave me a victory kiss after. You should have seen the other guy's faces. They were either impressed or jealous because I managed to have a talented girlfriend like you. I was starting to get jealous of all the attention you got.”
He looks at her with love and begins leaning in. Sasha, as much as she would love to kiss him right then and there, gently pushes him away. Normally, she would kiss Niccolo when he praises her, but she wasn’t giving in just yet.
“I know. I would too.” She says cockily and leans very close to Niccolo. Her lips were only a centimeter away from his but not enough to actually kiss him. She wanted him to keep feeding her ego for a few more minutes.
“What else do you think about me?”
---
“Do you see anything yet?” Jean asks Connie. Connie held up binoculars with a strap wrapped around his neck to watch the couple on the beach (totally not in a creepy way).
“No, They’re just talking,” Connie replies, not taking his eyes off the binoculars.
Jean groans. They have been in the water since Sasha made it to shore to meet up with Niccolo. You see, the guys had come together to get Sasha a wedding gift. They wanted to get her something unique. Something big because it was either go big or go home for them.
All of the guys, except for Marco and Niccolo - for obvious reasons, had rowed together on a small boat close to where Sasha and Niccolo were. They were far enough to not be seen (and hopefully heard). They got out of the boat, jumped in the water, and hid so the only visible part was chest up.
Their plan was to wait for Niccolo to give the signal before running up to the couple. Who knows how long that would take? The couple was busying frolicking on the beach that a few guys (mostly Connie) were beginning to doubt if Niccolo knew to give the signal.
Connie continues watching the couple. Jean stood on his left followed by Armin and Eren. Marlow stood on Connie's right side.
Connie watches the couple get really close doing anything but kissing. There was one moment where Niccolo started to lean in, but Sasha pushed him away. Actually, it happened twice. During the second time, it was Sasha leaning it for a kiss...and then she pulled away again.
“Jean, I swear. If we have to watch those do anything but first base, I’m going to strangle you right here! I don’t care if we are in the water.”
Jean rolls his eyes. Honestly, he has no idea when Niccolo is going to lean down and finally kiss Sasha already.
“Niccolo is not going to do that!” He says with exasperation. At least Jean hopes so. Niccolo doesn’t go anywhere past kissing Sasha. Especially out in public and in front of her guy friends who see Sasha as a sister. “We’re all here to beat him up even if he tries.”
“I hope so,” Connie says and continues watching.
“I don’t think Niccolo is a guy to do that in a public area,” Marlowe adds.
Jean nods in agreement. Niccolo respects Sasha enough to beat up anyone who talks trash or hurts her.
Eren, on the other hand, was confused. He looks over at Armin who was busy watching the couple as well. “Hey, Armin. Why would Sasha and Niccolo play baseball on the beach? The sand is not a good field to play on anyway.”
Armin looks away from the beach and sighs. He places a hand on Eren’s shoulder and looks over at him with a hint of concern on his face. “I’ll tell you about it later, Eren.”
Eren smiles and looks back at the couple. Armin takes his hand off Eren’s shoulder and turns back to keep an eye on the couple. For a guy like Eren who looks like he’s a player and has multiple girls throwing themselves at him, he’s an oblivious guy when it comes to relationships. Especially when it comes to a raven-haired female Armin has been secretly rooting Eren to date since high school.
They all watch as Niccolo and Sasha flirt on the beach. Niccolo was on his knees in the sand, and Sasha was slowly crawling towards him. She leans close to him, and he holds her waist to keep her steady. His hands move up towards Sasha’s shoulders, and he lays her down on the sand. He leans in close to her face and kisses her.
Connie, seeing the signal, tosses his binoculars aside, so it hits his chest.
“Move out, soldiers!” he orders but not loud enough for the couple to hear them.
“This isn’t a war,” Marlowe says, but it goes past Connie’s ears. Connie lets out a war cry and starts running towards the shore. The guys could only watch and follow him as they went into “battle.”
---
Sasha is normally good at hearing something far away. There have been a few instances where it wasn't the case. For example, when she injures her head or gets sick. Other than that, her hearing is really good except for now.
She was laying on the sand with Niccolo on top of her after she was satisfied with the amount of praise she got today. She finally gave in and stopped the back and forth between the two. Niccolo leans forward to kiss her.
Sasha felt butterflies in her stomach. She was about to get married, her father is here, and she’s here spending some time with her fiancé. It was a perfect day for her, and she didn’t want it to end. Now, imagine her shock when she hears a war cry coming from the sea, and someone steals Niccolo away from her body. She watches three of her guy friends (Marlowe, Jean, and Connie) pull her fiancé towards the nearby pier. Eren and Armin pick her off the sand and sit her down on a nearby rock.
“Here you go, princess. Enjoy the show.” Eren says with a cheeky grin. He and Armin run off to meet the others once Sasha has settled down and is comfortable on her “throne.” Sasha looks up at the pier. Everyone, except Connie and Marco (who was the only guy missing from the group), stood patiently on the pier. A young boy (she thinks his name is Falco, a boy who recently moved to the island) runs in holding a Bluetooth speaker and a microphone in each hand. He hands the items to Connie before running off to the side. Connie turns the devices on and checks the mic. He places the speaker on the sand near the edge of the pier and speaks into the mic once he is satisfied with the sound.
“Ladies and-”
“Sasha is the only one here!” Armin yells from the back.
“Right! Thank you, Armin!” Connie calls back.
Sasha quickly glances around the beach. Technically she is not alone since Falco would be present too, but it seems that the boy was missing. It was like he flew in and out undetected. Connie clears his throat before speaking again.
“Ladies. I hope you are having a wonderful day today because it is about to get better!” He walks towards Sasha and opens his left arm back towards the guys.
“As you know, Sasha. You have the best guy friends any girl can ask for. We’re here for you through thick and thin. We are the best support anyone can ask for, and we make you happy. Any girl is lucky to have a group of guys like us ” he brags.
The guys sweat dropped. They wouldn’t be surprised if Connie’s head suddenly grew large with the amount of bragging he was doing.
“We cannot thank you enough, so…” his tone becomes sincere and walks back towards the pier and the speaker, “the guys have come up with the best wedding gift any girl can ask for. We know this is one of your favorite songs too. And so. Without further ado…”
The guys start posing from their spots. They looked ridiculous in Sasha’s eyes.
“This is for you, Sasha Zoe! We present to you: Lay All Your Love On Me!”
Connie hands Niccolo the mic so he can turn on his phone before pocketing it. The music starts playing through the speaker.
Niccolo begins singing the first few verses of the song to Sasha. Meanwhile, the guys were not only singing but acting as background dancers instead. They would add their voices to add some harmony for some lines.
Sasha was touched when Niccolo sang to her. She knows he has a good singing voice, but this was the first time he ever serenaded her. The guys in the background singers/dancers were just the icing on the cake. She couldn’t help but smile like a lovesick fool. She wonders if her mom was ever serenaded like this before.
Niccolo walks up to Sasha while singing the song. He holds one of her hands tenderly and looks deep into her light brown eyes. He sings his heart out to her, and Sasha begins to tear up. How in the world did she find such a great guy like Niccolo? He truly is irreplaceable, and she loves him for that.
As Niccolo finishes singing the third verse to Sasha, she could hear the sound of a jet ski heading in her direction. Niccolo, after hearing the jet skis as well, lets go of her hand and throws the mic over to Connie who catches it. It would help Sasha hear the guys singing the pre-chorus.
He leaves to continue on with the rest of the plan. Meanwhile, Sasha watches her friends singing and dancing to the final refrain of the song. The guys stood side by side and were singing and dancing at the same time. This time the dancing was freestyle instead of choreography.
Sasha laughs as her friends dance to the song. She could at least tell that they were trying for her. Jean and Eren made it seem like the dance was a competition between the two. They were trying to outdo each other by doing “dance moves” such as flexing and handstands. Armin was slightly red while dancing, but Sasha could tell he was trying his best. Marlowe was also trying his best but looked a bit stiff with his moves. On the other hand, Connie was also doing ridiculous dance moves (not as bad as Eren and Jean) and danced so dramatically that Sasha was unsure if he was trying to be the star of the show. He even hooked his arms around Armin and Marlowe and started front kicking. Poor Armin and Marlowe tried their best. Jean and Eren continued competing. Overall, they all looked ridiculous, but Sasha found it endearing. A whole performance just for her! Imagine what they would do when the other girls in the group get married!
As the others sang the final notes, Eren suddenly does a cartwheel (Sasha still does not know why Eren would consider adding it to his “dance.”) and causes chaos to erupt. He accidentally bumps into Jean and knocks him over. Jean falls and bumps into Armin, who is still linking arms with Connie, creating a domino effect causing the two (plus Marlowe) to fall in the water. Jean watches with horror as they fall. Eren, proclaiming himself as the winner of their dance-off, pushes Jean into the water before jumping in himself.
Meanwhile, Marco enters the scene leading Niccolo’s stag party on jet skis with enough space for the other guys. Even Falco was there with his brother, Colt. Both of them had the biggest smiles on their faces. It seems like the rest of the guys (minus Falco because he is still young) are here to pick up everyone else for the bachelor party. They were hooting and hollering from their jet skis.
Armin and Marlowe swam towards the nearest jet skis and hopped on. Jean and Eren were busy trying to drown each other in the sea about who won their competition until Marco had to step in and stop them. Connie, who didn’t join just yet, turns to Sasha (who is still laughing at everything) and brings his hands up around his mouth to amplify his voice.
“Thank you for watching! We’re only available on Fridays! He laughs and swims away to the nearest et ski so he can join the rest of the guys. The stag party left into the sunset once everyone was settled.
Sasha continues to laugh until she hears some footsteps running in her direction. She turns just in time to see her friends running towards her, now changed into party clothes. Suddenly, Mikasa and Annie were on either side of her and carried Sasha off of her rock. Annie lets Sasha go once she is on the ground, and Mikasa moves to pick Sasha up in bridal style. The group begins running back inland.
Sasha turns to Hanami. She was the closest one near Mikasa. Hanami, noticing Sasha’s stare, turns to her and smirks.
“C’mon princess,” she says while using the same nickname Eren used on her earlier. “You have a bachelorette party to attend to.”

What did you think? Btw the Eren I have in this the S1-S3 and junior high. He doesn't have a reason to be depressed, hence this OOC version I have. (Actually, I apologize if anyone is OOC)
Any get where I got the marlin fishing in Italy from haha? (The fish is actually a Mediterranean Spearfish, which is a type of marlin common in Italy.)
Kastani beach is the actual beach some scenes in Mamma Mia was filmed at. Additionally, Finikas is a real restaurant in Skopelos.
Most of this chapter takes place from 2 pm - 6 pm. 6 is when Sasha and her dads leave and run into Niccolo around that hour. She goes to her bachelorette party after 8.
The guys actually practiced their performance twice. One time alone and the second with Hanami as stand-in Sasha. Jean and Eren cooperated during them, and Niccolo only sang in front of her.
So how's everyone after ch 139? It was a bittersweet ending for me. I'm both happy and sad.

Sophiana Ship Week Day One
Pairing: Sophie Foster x Biana Vacker
Prompt: Flowers
Word Count: 1120
Warnings: Fluff? Bad writing? I don’t edit?
(A/N): In this AU the two are young adults, think 18 - 20. I know Sophie would never leave her friends out of the blue like that, but I liked the idea of the two living as humans, and I will be exploring that more.
A vase of yellow tulips on a bookshelf.
When Sophie decided to leave the lost cities, she thought she would be alone. In fact, she had packed her bags, written a few notes, taken off any jewelry that could be used to identify her, and prepared to use a crystal to light leap back to the forbidden cities. And then Biana had walked in, wearing a buttercream yellow dress.
The youngest Vacker had looked Sophie up and down, taken in the human clothes and stack of bags, and known instantly.
“You’re leaving, aren’t you.” She wasn’t angry, or accusing. Just sad.
Sophie nodded. “I’m - I’m sorry. I know I should’ve told you, but I wrote some notes and please believe me when I say that this isn’t your fault. I’ll miss you so, so much and I’ll miss all of you really. I just feel so different here, it’s worse than the human world somehow, and I’m tired of being Project Moonlark-”
Her rambles were cut off.
“Can I come with you?”
“...What?”
“Can I come with you?” Biana repeated, taking a step closer. “To the human world.”
“I don’t think I’m being clear.” Sophie said, somewhat dumb-founded. “I’m not planning on coming back.”
“Yeah, I know. I don’t want to come back.” She said. “I’m tired of all the expectations. I’m tired of having to be a perfect Vacker. And I’m really tired of fighting the Black Swans battles.”
“Biana I don’t want you to regret this later.” Sophie whispered.
“I won’t, I promise.” She looked down at the dress. “I should probably change.”
“No!” Sophie said quickly and blushed.
“Why not?” “You… look really nice. That’s all. And it might be nice to have a memento.” She said softly.
“Alright, I’ll keep it.” Biana smiled and took off her jewelry. “Let’s go.”
Red roses on the nightstand.
“Just friends”, was their creed.
Just two friends who lived in an apartment together.
Sure, Sophie noticed the way Biana looked at her when she laughed. And sure, Biana noticed Sophie lean in a little closer during movie night. And yes, Bianas eyes sparkled in the sun, and her fascination with the human world was adorable. And Biana couldn’t help but love the way Sophie hummed around the house, while classic rock blasted in the background.
`But they were just friends.
Because Sophie had always loved Fitz. And Biana loved Keefe.
But things began to change.
Sophie’s hand brushed Bianas during movie nights.
They had sleepovers on the living room floor and somehow always ended up cuddling.
Biana made Sophie all kinds of little hair clips and accessories.
It all came to a head one fateful night.
Sophie was wearing a dress, for once. Nothing too fancy, just a red tee-shirt dress and a pair of black leggings. Two little diamond earrings hung from her ears. There was no special occasion, just dinner with Biana.
She was making a pot of tea when Biana came home from her job at a nearby cafe. She walked into the apartment, set her bag on the table, looked at Sophie and froze.
“I love you.”
Sophie’s tea-bag fell to the floor.
“W-what?”
“I love you.” Biana stared at Sophie, eyes misty.
“Like… love, love? Or like, love as in friend?”
“Love, love.” Biana whispered. “As in I’m completely in love with you. And… I get if this changes things. I’ll move out.”
“No, please no.” Sophie took a hesitant step forward. “I think… I think I love you too.”
“But what about Fitz?” Biana asked, rubbing her arm.
“What about Fitz? You came with me, not him. And anyways, I don’t think I ever truly loved him.” Sophie took another step forward. “Biana, you are more important to me than anything in the world.”
Biana started crying and Sophie dashed over, setting a hand on her cheek.
“Oh no, what did I say wrong?!” “Nothing!” Biana laughed and sniffled. “I just… have never been this happy.”
“I love you.” Sophie pressed her forehead to Biana’s.
“I love you more.”
Pink Dahlias in Biana’s hair.
A picnic on the beach.
The perfect one year anniversary date.
Biana chose a flowered basket with a pink checkered blanket to bring the food in, and set on the ground. Sophie put together a spread of sandwiches, chips, fruit, and desserts. All vegan of course.
Biana brought along candles and drinks, and one more surprise for her girlfriend.
The sun had begun to set when the two were finishing their meal.
“Biana, can I ask you something?” Sophie finally spoke up.
“Hmm? Of course.”
Sophie glanced over at her girlfriend, noting the way her curled brown hair framed her face. “Do you regret it?”
“Regret what?”
“Running away with me?” Sophie met Biana’s gaze, scared of what she would see.
Biana was quiet for a few moments. “Soph, I’ve never been happier than I am with you. I wouldn’t trade this for the world.”
“That doesn't exactly answer my question.” Sophie whispered.
“I regret some things. Not saying proper goodbyes being one. But running away was the best choice of my life.” The young Vacker took her girlfriend's hand. “Can I ask you something?”
Sophie nodded.
“Do you remember when we first met, and I was… less than warm?”
“Yeah?”
“You wanna know what I thought?” Biana smirked. “I thought you were the prettiest girl I had ever seen, and man was I jealous.”
“You were jealous?”
“Of course. Just look at your hair. Look at your eyes. Just… look at you.” Biana grinned, pushing a blonde curl out of Sophie’s face. “You’re gorgeous.”
“Biana…” She whispered. “You’re making me blush.”
“It’s adorable.” Biana bopped her nose. “I’m not finished.”
“Oh?”
“Not only are you the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but you’re smart, and capable, and brave. You make me want to be a better person every single day. I’m so, so in love with you.” Biana took a deep breath. “We’ve been dating for a year. This is about when humans move in together but since we already live together…”
“Biana, are you…”
“Shh.” Biana reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, felt pink box.
“Sophie Foster, will you marry me?”
Silence.
Biana’s hands shook.
“...Soph?”
“YES! YES OF COURSE I'LL MARRY YOU!” She launched herself at her girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her neck and kissing her. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
Sophie noticed the flowers around their apartment. After they got married Biana seemed to decorate the apartment with memories.
Yellow flowers for when they ran away.
Red roses for when they proclaimed their love.
Pink Dahlias for the proposal.
Flowers became the sign of their everlasting love.

Fic Writer Review
@pixiedane tagged everyone on this, and considering I've been wallowing in my sudden Being Into Fanfic lately (though to be honest I've been READING a lot lately more than writing), see this link, I figured I'd take her up on the challenge. You, too, may take ME up on the challenge if YOU have been writing fic!
how many works do you have on AO3? 19. That's much less than @pixiedane! I'm a baby fic writer!
what’s your total AO3 word count? 66,239
how many fandoms have you written for and what are they? There are technically seven listed, but "Marvel Cinematic Universe," "The Avengers (Marvel Movies)," "Captain America (Movies)," and "Agent Carter (TV)" all apply to the same fic, so really just 4. But that doesn't count fandoms I've written but not completed (and therefore posted) for. So there are more to come. Maybe. Sometime.
what are your top 5 fics by kudos? *
"On the End of Endgame," 51 kudos, because I'm right and Marvel doesn't understand their own time travel rules and 51 people KNOW it!
"The Puppy-Fly Effect," 39 kudos, because it's Back to the Future, the most mainstream property I've written for! So people see it and say, "oh, I've actually seen that one" and they're more likely to read it!
"The Invitation: an Epilogue," 22 kudos, which is pretty good since this is my newest fic on there. It's a Howl's Moving Castle (BOOK, PLEASE, OBVIOUSLY) epilogue, so considering it's not a RECENT thing it just keeps getting slow and steady readership. I myself have been reading a lot of Howl fic lately, and people are getting comments on their decade-old stories from me now, so I imagine this one also will slow and steadily keep accumulating hits and kudos.
"Kerry and the Meaning of Life," 20 kudos. I'm honestly not sure why this is, by far, my most kudoed Legion FX fic. It's the first one I ever wrote, and got me started on the whole writing-the-entire-Loudermilk-coming-of-age rabbit hole I fell into to begin with, but I've only improved over time, I think, but even after I'd posted other Loudermilk backstory I think is objectively better, this one still gets the most!
"Syd's (Third) Childhood Begins," 15 kudos, because when people finish watching Legion FX the NATURAL move is to seek out fix-it fic. I wouldn't say this is fix-it really as much as ensure-the-ending-is-actually-happy-it, but I did use the "fix-it" tag, and at least one of the commenters DID say they immediately came on AO3 "looking for pretty much exactly this"...
do you respond to comments, why or why not? Absolutely, because I know what it feels like NOT to get comments, and also what it feels like to-- I don't know, I just get paranoid, if people don't respond to me, I think stuff like "Did I say something wrong? Do they not care about my opinion? Am I invisible?" so I'm Do Unto Others-y about it, even if all I can think of to say is "Thank you!"
what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Well, I haven't actually posted (read: finished) the ending yet, but it's definitely "Exploration of the Astral Plane," because that's just Legion FX canon. No spoilers, Oliver Bird starts out the show having gotten lost decades ago, and this is the story of HOW he got lost, and his friends didn't KNOW if they'd ever see him again, so the paragraphs I've written of the end do make me quite teary! The fic's really fun despite the canonically sad ending, though, honest!
do you write crossovers? if so what is the craziest one you’ve written? I have not written one YET, if I recall, unless you count the several mildly interconnected IPs involved in the Pipeweed Mafia Stories, which isn't even posted because I feel uncomfortable posting Real People fic online, but crossovers are fun and I really enjoy reading them, especially when the writer successfully blends things together while being true to the characters. Just today I read a hilarious one blending The Good Place and Harry Potter!
have you ever received hate on a fic? Gosh, this is such an ironic question. I wouldn't say that I WISH I received hate on a fic, but my fics aren't even NOTICED enough to receive hate! I already feel paranoid-- Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, you know how it is-- when I don't receive LIKE on a fic! It's LIKE receiving hate for me, because my brain goes into "Does nobody like it? Does nobody care? Are they all too nice to say it's terrible?" mode, so, yeah.
do you write smut? if so what kind? Absolutely not. My demisexual self hates reading it, definitely not writing it. I struggled enough writing just a taste of what a horny, slutty teenager who-talks-too-much Oliver Bird would have been in this AU, and that's mild!
have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of. That would really suck, wouldn't it, if someone stole my work and ended up getting MORE LIKES AND COMMENTS THAN ME on it.
have you ever had a fic translated? Also not that I'm aware of, and if I'm not aware of it but it happened I guess that would answer the "stolen" question, too.
have you ever co-written a fic before? Ever in my entire life, I feel like I must have, but not anything I've posted online then
what’s your all time favorite ship? Hmm. Honestly, there are ships I defend passionately if the topic comes up, but I'm not sure I have a favorite just on my own. Especially as I hate smut, so I avoid seeking out specifically shipping stories. But, since I have been reading a lot of HMC fic lately, I should mention that Howl and Sophie ARE one of my absolute favorite fictional couples, but that's just how DWJ wrote them, and I can tell you unfortunately that not all fanfic writers QUITE nail that chemistry...
what’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? Speaking of The Good Place, I really do wish I could write the novelization, and maybe I'd write some pieces of it longer than the few paragraphs I have written? But I doubt I ever will, let alone to the point of FINISHING...
what are your writing strengths? Fanfic wise, I like to THINK I understand the characters very well, at least! Writing in general? I think it's just my quirky voice? I'm the only me.
what are your writing weaknesses? Oh, very much FINISHING. But beyond that, it's pulling teeth to get me to fill out the story sometimes. I tend to draft with dialogue, and then I have to go back and fill in what's actually happening AROUND the dialogue, and sometimes I'd rather not.
what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? At first I was like, I don't KNOW any other languages well enough to do this! And then I remembered the Firefly fic I have mostly written but not completed yet, and you know how in the show their speech is peppered with random Mandarin phrases? My husband has the Firefly RPG book and there's an appendix of Mandarin phrases you might hear in the Firefly universe, and I DID incorporate a few of those phrases into my dialogue, just from that appendix and it's probably horrible, but it fit the universe...
what was the first fandom you wrote for? EVER? The earliest I'm sure about is the Ducktales fic I found in an old Girl Scout manual that I must have written when I was 11 or 12. The first fandom I ever posted on AO3, in response to an exchange, was Legion FX of course, but that wasn't until the ripe old age of 40.
what’s your favorite fic you’ve written? I'm going to give this one to "Two (or Three) Mutant Freaks Against the Fourth Grade" just because it has gotten the least number of hits of ANY of my posts, INCLUDING THE PLACEHOLDER WITH NO WORDS IN IT, so it needs more love. And it really is one of my favorites, because it's just a sweet little story about nerds making friends, and I love rereading it.
*This made me curious which fics got the most kudos comparative to their HITS, because the Endgame one has WHOA more hits than any other fic, but it's over a thousand, which doesn't make 51 kudos look so good anymore. Percentage-wise, it's less than 5%, which seems to be where most of my fics hit when you do the math-- between 4% and 8% kudos-to-hits. The exceptions, jumping up to about 18% each, are the BttF and HMC fics, and, curiously, my beloved childhood friend AU mentioned in the last question-- it may have the least number of HITS (22), but that helps the math when you consider it's got 4 kudos. The HIGHEST percentage kudos-to-hits is its sequel, the childhood-friends-as-teenagers-AU fic mentioned in question 5**-- it's got 6 kudos and only 29 hits, so that's about 20%! Apparently people LIKE when I have to write a sex-crazed adolescent boy. COME ON, people! (The story is actually about Asexuality so I guess it really isn't people just wishing I'd write smut).
**Oh, I just noticed the numbers renumbered themselves when I put bullet points in the middle of the original question 3 there, so this is actually the answer to question 8? But it SAYS FIVE.

RED SCHOOL UNIVERSE ALTERATION HEADCANONS/STORY!!!!!! Mainly based on that series titles and plots post I did a little while back.
This story happensthe same as before, but there are three arcs, not two parts; Arc 1 is the two worlds dicscovering each other and each wondering who the other is. Arc 2 is the worlds meeting each other and making introductions and first impressions. Arc 3 is the "Peace and Cooperation" between the two, which includes the Unity Ball.
The Endless Woods were still discovered by Silvers, but it was completely on accident. They were trying to go to Piedmont or any other Nortan ally because the Scarlet Guard situation is getting a little crazy and Tiberias needs needs reinforcements who are not having the same problem as him.
In their defense, it was really dark and they couldn't see a damn thing. And they thought the trees and grass being blue were because of Greenies.
One of them, a Swift, ran away when his travel partner, an Eye, got shot by a stray arrow and when a wolf jumped out of the trees. Like, a BIG ASS WOLF.
Little did the Swift know, a ferret snuck onto the boat while getting chased by an evil mist possessed hawk.
So the Eye gets patched up by Professor Espada, who scolded Chaddick, he is interviewed by Espada and Dovey, though they all talk in the School Master's office.
THE REVEAL OF RHIAN WILL COME, JUST WAIT BECAUSE IT WILL BE AWESOME!!!
The Eye explains as much of Norta as he can, mistakenly talking about the King and his two sons to a certain blonde girl who keeps thinking she's in the wrong school and her more realist, down to Earth friend that is intrigued, but just wants to go home.
SPEAKING OF NORTA!!!!
With the Swift, he arrives back at Norta and claimed he'd been chased away by soldiers.
The ferret slips away from the boat and finds its way into the garage, where Cal happens to be working, because he overworked himself in training.
It gets his attention and he very stupidly asks it how it got in.
It starts chattering and then claws at the door. Ever the compassionate, Cal lets it on his shoulder and he meets an Animos who takes notice of the rather articulate rodent on the prince's shoulder.
She does her own interviewing of the creature and is curious when it talks about a school meant for teaching children how to be heroes and villains for fairytales.
She infirms Cal, but tells him to not tell his father because it'd sound stupid and like bullshit.
He tells him anyway because Cal cannot keep a secret.
Tibe tells him that maybe he's been training too hard or in the garage to much; oil or gasoline on the brain.
Good thing the Eye comes back and tells Tibe EVERYTHING about what is called the School for Good and Evil. It is across the sea and has no Reds or Silvers to speak of, though they do have magic.
Tibe tries brushing it off, even when Elara asks him about it, but starts getting frustrated when letters start coming in, all sent by ravens.
These address Maven, Cal, Tibe, Elara, Evangeline, Ptolemus, and Volo Samos, and just about anyone and everyone else the Eye talked about, Even Mare, who is Mareena Titanos at this moment.
This was not only an assignment from the School Master directly, but a test to see if the Eye was BS-ing.
Maven rolls his eyes when he reads his.
Mare, at first, got really excited because she thought it was her family or Shade, but was really sad to learn it was just a bunch of kids in school.
Cal just laughs because he gets a lot of questions about what Norta is like and how he lives life, especially how HE goes to school.
He writes back, after realizing that the letters are being sent by literal 16 year olds.
Here is a letter sent by Tedros:
"Dear Tiberias Calore VII, We found one of your people in our school when my friend accidentally shot him.(sorry about that, by the way!) He talked a lot about you and a thing called "Queenstrial" and said that every King had to choose his Queen like that, even though your father didn't. His blood was silver, too. LIKE A MIRROR! Is that how all of you are? As in, does everyone have silver blood? And does everyone still have powers? Write back when you get a chance. I hope to here from you soon, Tedros Pendragon of Camelot."
Here is Cal's reply:
"Dear Tedros, Call me Cal, just about everyone else does. And don't worry about our comrade, he's doing okay. And I hope he didn't say anything confidential. To answer your questions: Yes, Queenstrial is somewhat a competition to marry the next King. My father didn't really partake in one until after I was born, then he married the current Queen and had my brother Maven. Kings rarely marry without one, though my father was the third to do so. Assuming what he said to us was true, that being you and your classmates all have red blood, then no. Not all us have silver blood. I and my family are all Silvers, meaning we have silver blood. We have powers because of it, but it's not as vast as yours, what you call magic. I'm a Burner, meaning I can control fire and not get burned by it, just like my father and brother. My mother, the queen, is a Whisper, meaning she can read minds. And no, not everyone has powers or silver blood. Reds, people with red blood, don't have powers at all, so they work. Granted, Silvers work, too, but Reds have more labor intensive jobs like lumbering and even fighting in an army. It's to make them feel more useful next to us. I hope this answered ypu questions. Tiberias Calore VII"
Here are letters Sophie sent to Maven:
"Dear Maven Calore, It's very nice to meet you! My name is Sophie. I'm from a village called Gavaldon, though you might not have heard of it because it's really deep in the woods and, let's be honest, if you live in a place like Gavaldon, you can probably live and die without anyone knowing who or where you are. Anyway, I tried writing to your brother, but I guess he gets THAT many letters. That guy they found didn't talk about you as much as your brother. And he said he'll be best king yet. I know how frustrating that is, I got put in the wrong school when I helped so many people and even became best friends with a witch. AND SOMEHOW I'M IN EVIL!? I'M THE PICTURE PERFECT DEFINITION OF A PRINCESS!!! Did that ever happen to you on school? Were ypu ever in the wrong place and your brother was where you were supposed to be? Anyway, write back when you get a chance! Love, Sophie P.S. Is it true you and your brother are ALREADY engaged to someone?"
Here is Maven's reply:
"Dear Sophie, Yes. My brother and I are already betrothed, him to Evangeline of House Samos and I to Mareena of the lost House Titanos. I'm not surprised that he didn't; the nobles usually pay more attention to my brother anyway, kind of like you. I remember once I'd wanted to join my father on a meeting concerning one of our legions. He chose Cal to join him instead and left me to train, even though I'm better at talking in council meetings. I was fairly upset, as I'm sure you are, but all I can say is to grin and bear it. As far as I know, most schools last four years. It may seem like a long time, but it will go by very quickly. Aside from that, I wouldn't know because I wasn't taught in a school like you. I was taught in the palace with my brother. I hope things get better for you, at least. Cordially, Maven Calore"
If this was a legit book or movie, we'd get back and forth POVs between the Red Queen cast and the SGE cast.
With the RQ cast, we'd see Mare and Maven talk the letters they'd each gotten and talk about the existence of magic, and the last letter sent to all three of them. FROM AGATHA. Cal joins them and they get to speculating what it could mean for their future.
"Dear Tiberias Calore VII, Maven Calore, and Mareena Titanos, This is the last letter we're allowed to send. The students, at least. Mareena, or Mare, or whatever your name is, I wish I had a chance to meet you at least once. I don't know, I just have a feeling you're lying and I want to know why. Tiberia Cal, I hope you someday become a good king, and that you're happy with Evangeline. If not, just get along and be freinds. Maven, I'm glad you and Mare met. She sounds like she's a good part of your life, and it sounds like your doing everything you can to help her adapt. I hope you two become your own little weird, married family. If I never meet you, best of wishes to you all. Agatha of Woods Beyond"
All three are bummed out by this and Mare cries into Maven's shoulder as he hugs her out of genuineness, not his mother's plan.
Maven later admits to Cal that it would be interesting to meet the students, but is glad he isn't, because they already have enough problems.
Cal agrees, but solely on the front that they wouldn't really know how to get there and back to Norta, and who qould have to stay behind to hold down the fort, as Tibe doesn't trust Elara or any other high house leader and doesn't talk to Julian.
The two simply imagine what such a meeting would be like as they part ways.
With Tibe, a letter from the School Master himself has just arrived and details a safe route from Norta to the School and back.
SWITCH AND BACK TRACK TO THE SGE CAST!!!!!
Sophie hugs the return letters from Cal and Maven, squealing about how gentlemanly they are and that she can't wait to meet them. Agatha gently breaks it to her that that might not happen because of how they don't know where this Norta place is and the last letter was sent last night, HER LETTER. Sophie waves her off and calls her gloomy for not having any hope. Agatha tries talking Sophie into trying to find a way back to Gavaldon instead, but Sophie shuts her down by gasping that she'd never meet her princes, then.
Norta is a hot topic for the students as they all compare letters, Evers and Nevers.
Tedros wonders to Agatha how long it would take for them to arrive, and Agatha admits she doesn't know because she doesn't know how they get from place to place without horses or carriages.
Dovey and Lesso are about to pull their hair out from the nonstop chitchat of Norta, Reds, and Silvers, and the School Master has just the solution:
After enough ravens left and returned safely, he determined a route on water that would help the Silvers arrive safely and get back home. Considering the advances in technology Norta has, it should take them about a day or two to arrive and another day or two to sail home, regardless of the weather conditions.
With that all thought out, he puts it in the form of him own letter, sends it by eagle, and waits.
After A MONTH of waiting, he gets a letter back that Tiberias will be happy to meet the School Master at the rendezvous point.
AND THUS CONCLUDES ARC 1
BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR ARC 2!!!!

Hello, dear! I'm Norma (not my real name) from Turin. I'm the girl who "checks compulsively" Gator's blog, and of course I'm not Sophie Hunter. I just wrote to her, but in case she won't have the guts to post a rectification to her very wrong, very hilarious beliefs about me, here you have the text submit I've sent her, so you can tell her you "know" about me as well!
Love from sunny Italy!
Hi, I'm the girl from Turin who's compulsively checking your blog. I can confirm to you that I am NOT Sophie Hunter, or anyone associated with her, and that I'm not in any way participating in a worldwide conspiracy to keep Benedict Cumberbatch trapped into a loveless marriage. I've only found out about your blog (and the tinhats theories) literally a few months ago (lockdown was very boring. You can check the IDs, which I never bother to hide), and now I'm tracking the progression of this convoluted narrative because I find it HILARIOUS and extremely entertaining. Seriously, I think there's genius to it. It's also slightly morbid and disturbing, and I just can't stop watching: a little bit like slowing your car to see the incident on the other lane… but, please, don't judge me for that! We all have our guilty pleasure, I know you understand! I can also confirm to you that due to the pandemic the Teatro Regio, our own local opera house, has sadly cancelled ALL the previously announced productions for the past autumn/spring, including Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites. They currently have a very beautiful summer program that includes much beloved titles from the Italian tradition of opera and classical music: Barbiere, Butterfly, Elisir d'Amore, Pagliacci and so forth… A dear friend who works as one of the first violins of the company tells me that they don't know if or when the original program will be reinstated. I guess it depends on many factors like schedules and eventual conflicting gigs of the many artists involved (not only theatre directors, but also and specifically the singers and the conductors), and obviously it also depends on the pandemic evolution. So for now no Sophie Hunter sightings in the city, but rest assured that if in the future she will come to work for the Regio there's going to be a lot of documented pictures (especially if her husband will happen to be with her: I have worked for many years at our Movie Museum inside the Mole Antonelliana and I can tell you that my colleagues will be happy to have Benedict Cumberbatch signing the posters of his films 😉).
In conclusion, while I'm not Sophie Hunter, I do live and work in Torino, which is a beautiful city filled with charm, culture, history and exceptional food: I'd be happy to give you a tour if one day you wish to visit us! Oh and do try not to get your pants in a twist, if you see me checking your blog, even many times a day: I looove all the drama and I also check many other blogs (especially the one of that German woman, which conversely is NOT FUNNY at all),but don't be paranoid about it, I mean no harm, I promise. Don't worry if you see the location ID changing in the next few days: I'll be at my parents' little town near Milano for the summer holidays (and I will also get my vaccination while there, so yay!). So if you see someone compulsively checking your blog from Milano, it's still not Sophie Hunter (she's probably in London with her husband and children, rn, who cares?), but it's always me!
Stammi bene e buone vacanze!
Norma
---------------------------------
Grazi for your message Norma who isn't Sophie. I'm sure that if one the septics comes lurking to my blog, they'll be happy to report this to Hator. Who will then obviously ignore since it doesn't fit her narrative.
Edit: Hator did receive this same message, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, decided it was Sophie. Because she really is that desperate to look important in Ben's life.
