Know No Fear 1

so! it's gonna be fun rereading this now that i have a lot more knowledge about what on earth is going on so as i think i mentioned originally this one is written in a much more experimental style, sometimes it worked! A lot of the time…it didn't but i do remember this one being very much a "disaster movie" type of thing and also partially found footage maybe? I'm not going to post as much about it since it's, well, not as brainworm inducing but this is some very fun horror in the opening

it goes into a bit of detail about their deaths in a successfully horrifying way and I like it, I really feel like this whole sequence does a great job of setting the tone for the book which is, this very kind of organized way of looking at the world that Guilliman and the Ultramarines have, the regular kind of disaster and evaluation etc and then also there's these horrible unknowable things (daemons) that have invaded this world as part of the disaster

so, something i find funny is that consistently the Ultramarines are shooketh because the idea of Space Marines fighting each other is inconceivable to them "the idea is nonsense" "there is no tactical precedent" this is a repeated element and meanwhile over in A Thousand Sons, the SW and the TS are like thiiiis close to attacking each other the whole time and iirc there is some violence done lol not to mention the uh historical precedent of purging two legions

ow that hurts because in the Horus-centric books we start to see him trying to move beyond this and thinking independently and perhaps…becoming a better person and then he gets stabbed by evil knife

okay these were fine but like the entire first 20% of the book (iirc) had scenes that ended with this kind of thing and it kind of got to the point of "okay, when is this actually gonna start" i'll see if it holds up better than it did in my memory i will say i do like how Abnett does try to get in a lot of views on the ground level, with ordinary people's POVs but also I remember being like GET TO THE POINT especially in the sample for Prospero Burns

i mean framing a war of conquest as "a necessary step taken for survival" sure is an absolute wonder of propaganda but also, really, how was the emperor planning on getting rid of them lmao

me, looking at Guilliman and sniffing you are so naive but like did guilliman look at how the space marines are created, like, at all???

who looks at that and thinks "ah yes they will pivot to do non violence things" i didn't really fully realize the extent of this when i originally read this also man imagine this guilliman waking up in the 41st millenium like "lol. lmao" and then there's his entire attitude of "the emperor doesn't make mistakes, im sure thing clear flaw actually had a purpose"

even the ultramarines are kind of like "we love you but you're being overly optimistic here"

me looking at the timeline like ???? was literally NO ONE from the loyalist side able to get through to Guilliman?? and this is before the Ruinstorm, the whole book is about how the Ruinstorm happened there's something like at least a full year between Istvaan V and Calth and Dorn and Terra knew about Horus before then because the Eisenstein got through and then over in Scars we got him (Dorn) repeatedly spamming Jaghatai with messages to make sure at least one got through

…man, i didn't get it the first time, but i'm eyes emoji that guilliman has under the table freedom of religion in ultramar Old Person Oll Persson is openly a Catheric and goes to a chapel with some of his neighbours and the worst he gets is some of his other neighbours in the area laughing at him (edited) and the chapel isn't a secret or anything hm. you know, logically, given that the nascent imperial faith is able to create miracles you'd think there'd have been more miracles popping up in the face of the great crusade you're trying to stamp out religions. that's literally the kind of situation that creates martyrs.

also, you're telling me there were zero societies doing daemon worship that decided to summon them in the course of the conquest? well they could try to push it under the rug like the whole samus incident but it's not so much the effect on the space marines and imperium I'm thinking about, but on the people being conquered. You have your miracles or your daemon summoning, or whatever, you have tangible, visible proof that your faith is real the iterators with their dollar store arguments are going to find it extremely difficult to make a real dent in that

once again, when examined, the imperium having as much cohesion as it does in canon, makes absolutely zero sense

I respect that Warhammer40k is 100% aesthetic first, making sense second, but also I think you COULD very much keep the aesthetic while still having things make more sense like having a whole bunch of different empires and independent entities you could up the despair by having everyone embroiled in wars with each other as much as they're fighting Chaos

or people who genuinely think Chaos is the better of two evils to ally with against the Imperium i think also this would work really well for guilliman's return because he totally would see it as a priority to reconquer all the worlds from the great crusade

oh hey look at that it's the future doctrine of the imperium

and that's his take on it

you know, given the codex and reverence with which guilliman's writings are held you know i'm pretty sure he is the base for 40k imperial doctrine he's appalled by it but at its root, it's this he keeps walking the exact same steps as the emperor his primary objection is "you're making the wrong sacrifices" and he is unable to step out of the paradigm just like the emperor nothing he builds will outlast him, and also depends on him making the correct decision 100% of the time

oh boy it's time for the guilliman description

i just really love the line "like a good sword is handsome"

i feel like at some point i should read one of the space wolf books because i cannot get a straight answer about Russ and I don't actually trust anyone's reading comprehension here it's also fun how Guilliman is an unreliable narrator w.r.t. the nature/personality of his brothers haha

sjkdfhsd I love how when the chapter masters raise their eyebrows at him because he's going to handle Thiel's reprimand he's like "ok yes i know i'm micromanaging but i've already had several meetings that could have been emails with Erebus and I'm going to have to deal with him in PERSON and micromanaging is my stress relief okay" the chapter masters, all being familiar with erebus, agree that this is fair, lmao

"hur dur space marines competing and clashing is all part of the emperor's vision, his sons will always stop things before they go too far"

also i love how they refer to Monarchia and reframe it as a "humiliation" rather than, you know, a war crime it's a humiliation to lorgar and the word bearers what? the people living in there? i don't know her our ultramarine who is friends with a word bearer is like "it clearly bothered Guilliman to be used as an instrument of humiliation" but still. Even Guilliman who is the "good one" is very much an aristocrat the only way Monarchia matters is as a humiliation to the people that matter

ahhh i just wanted to say i love starboy SOOO much!!!! i did not/still dont know anything about f1 but the way you write it is so easy to follow along with and read!!! i love how you write the characters, especially scar/grian/joel/lizzie, you write them so so sooo flawlessly... i love how it seems like were there with scar in the moment of everything going on and how you describe everything from his perspective. i also LOVE how you write scar and grian especially because they both seem just so *real* and *raw* and i usually never see that from fics. the way you write is just so in detail that it really allows the reader to imagine everything thats happening and i LOVEEE that!!! i also love how you write grian and mumbos friendship, like they obviously care about each other so muchhh and i love how the readers able to see that even through scars perspective!!!!! esp the scene after grian fell asleep watching topgun and mumbo helping him lay down into a more comfortable position,,, and how they hugged when grian finally got p1 😭😭❤️ NOT TO MENTION THE LATEST CHAPTERRRR AND SCAR AND GRIANS FIRST KISS????? THAT WHOLE CHAPTER WAS GOLDDDD i loved that chapter so much,,, so much happened between grian and scar???? that scene of them in the club??? scar (and us) finally getting some insight to what happened in grians past from grian himself??? grian being comfortable enough with scar to actually open up to him??? first, do you have a set upload schedule? or is it like a whenever you have time to work on it thing?

second, do you think youll be posting more content abt this au after starboy is finished? like a grians pov or something? ive become so interested in this au because i can tell so much work has been put into it and id love to see more it!!

lastly, is this going to be an eventual mumscarian fic??? i think its obvious Somethings going on/has happened between grian and mumbo but i just dont know What... like that one scene with them all at the dinner??? or the car scene with grian standing up through the sunroof???

the goal of the fic is real and raw! it’s an unusual setting (maybe not for me considering this is my second racing centric fic) but everything that happens is a product of the environment! the wins from his own team left scar feeling bitter at times, but watching grian win had him so proud he knew he’d get in trouble w his own team if he showed it lol. it’s all about where they are and it makes me sooo happy (like you would not believe) when people who aren’t f1/sports fan still enjoy the fic!

last ch was a lot and contained a lot of really vital stuff that i couldn’t wait to see the reactions of. grian finally opening up is so important to me and scar letting it happen in its own time is a huge part of why grian begins letting him in, which is evidently not something he’s used to at all. mans has been through it in this universe

as for the questions: i don’t have an upload schedule but i try to churn out the chs when i have time. it fits that valentine’s was right before midterms season for me so i got to get something out before i get swamped by all that 🥲 i don’t like to let a full month go by without posting but we’ll see how my semester keeps going lol

and i’ve been thinking of content once i’ve finished starboy. i’ve had ideas of grian’s pov hitting all the major plot points or even a jimmy spin-off one shot but nothing is planned for now. definitely floating around in my mind

mumscarian is not the endgame but the mystery behind grian and mumbo will be revealed! grian is mysterious and mumbo being mumbo goes along w it, but it does come full circle eventually!

i didn’t even realize there’s already only 5 chs left! that’s crazy, considering how much of the story i have left!

Hiiiii! You've probably received this question before but what are your recs for the books (romance or other genre) with the absolute hottest sex scenes? We're talking EXTRA SPICE

Good question! I read a lot of historicals which I feel can be SUPER HOT but don't necessarily get as creative~ as contemporaries (like the situations surrounding the sex make it hot, but you won't get as many actual acrobatics lol). So I'll include a mix of subgenres.

Priest by Sierra Simone. Male POV erotic romance; a man who committed himself to the Catholic priesthood for deep reasons meets a non-Catholic who nonetheless begins going to confession to unburden herself. A lot of temptation ensues. Includes interesting usages for holy oils.

A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane. A high fantasy romance that's enemies to lovers; her father killed his parents, and he wants revenge. The best revenge will be accomplished through marrying her and siring the next heir. Kind of dense on the fantasy but worth it!

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean. Mostly here because of The Chair Scene, but it's just a really hot book. A scientifically minded lady asks a known rogue to teach her about sex, like, science-wise, before she marries. He's actually been celibate for years due to Reasons and doesn't want to ruin her anyway, so he begins talking to her. A lot. Of. Talking.

The Roommate by Rosie Danan. A woman moves to a new city in order to live with the guy she's had a crush on for years--only for him to ditch her to go on tour with his band. The new roommate he's found for her is a very hot porn star, who she quickly becomes friends with. The sex scenes are good in general, but this is particularly here for a very classic "nobody's given you an orgasm??? let me fix that, AS A PAL" scene.

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey. A woman who wants to be taken more seriously as an adult (she's a children's party clown) begins a fake dating situation with a disgraced-ish former baseball player who happens to be her brother's best friend. Tessa Bailey loves a good "it's not sex if we do LITERALLY EVERYTHING BUT" scene.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. A woman on the autism spectrum hires a male escort to teach her how to be good at sex, so that she can find a man to settle down with. He finds that the issue really wasn't her, but her uncaring partners, and it's all very soft but also extremely hot.

Desperate Measures by Katee Robert. Literally a Jafar/Jasmine story. Like, Jasmine is a mob boss's daughter and Jafar takes her as his after killing her father. Fairly kinky, TW for dubious consent. The first sex scene is extremely not (but inwardly yes).

Duke I'd Like to F... An anthology of historical novellas that are definitely high heat. Includes: The Chasing of Eleanor Vane by Sierra Simone, in which a woman tries to escape marriage to her weak fiance only to be caught by his older uncle, who of course wants her; My Dirty Duke by Joanna Shupe, in which an 18 year old girl sets out to seduce her father's best friend; An Education in Pleasure by Eva Leigh, during which a governess is propositioned by the new duke of the estate she serves, who is a good bit younger than her and wants to learn about sex; Duke for Hire by Nicola Davidson, in which a 30 year old vicar's daughter hires a duke to take her virginity; and The Duke Makes Me Feel... by Adriana Herrera, in which an apothecary owner is offered an adventure from a duke, which leads to love~. They're all good, but The Taking of Eleanor Vane and My Dirty Duke especially.

The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne. A spinster who works for Scotland Yard is taken captive by a notorious criminal who insists that they marry For Reasons. He can't stand to touch her (for other reasons) but she agrees to the marriage on the condition that she gets to have a baby, so they have my favorite sex scene every with ~leather gloves. And some light bondage.

Aaaaaand I'll give several Elizabeth Hoyts because I think she writes some of the best sex in historicals:

The Raven Prince--A thirty-something widow begins working for a scarred earl as his secretary. An attraction builds, but she discovers that he's been slipping away to a brothel to essentially sublimate it. Annoyed, she disguises herself as a sex worker at the brothel (mask and all) and begins having sex with him. CLASSIC.

Thief of Shadows--A virgin vigilante (yes) runs an orphanage by day and requires patronesses to keep it running. A high society widow who's got a few years and lovers on him offers to My Fair Lady him in order to make it easier for him to court donations. Best! Blow job scene! Ever!

Duke of Midnight--A very uptight duke (who is also a vigilante, it's complicated) is blackmailed by the companion of the lady he's courting. They begin this sort of battle of wits cat and mouse thing that results in a lot of fucking.

Sweetest Scoundrel--A headstrong young woman who's responsible for running her half-brother's affairs is determined to control the roguish owner of a pleasure garden. They start bantering a lot because he Can't Be Tamed, and also there is a lot of mutual masturbation. TW for lots of past trauma including sexual abuse.

Honey I’m Home

Religious imagery and familial rejection and abuse ahoy! I’ve already doodled Scriabin with a moth chained to his hand (and Moth Edgar lol), but he obviously suits the spider just as well. The droning repetition suits Edgar too, especially since it’s centered around repression of thoughts and wants. That vivisection could be a lot of things, “Done by God for all to see” makes me tempted to pin it to Scriabin and Edgar’s separation.

Final Chapter

I mentioned briefly in my first set of tags that I liked this song for juuuust After Scriabin gets his own body. “For a second let’s forget and pretend” feels very much like how they want to act, they want to have what they had even though they never can again - “Never thought we’d come to an end” is the first line! Wanting to hold each other, like nothing happened; especially Edgar, but Scriabin too. I think it could pair well with You Can’t Live Like This as well, they’re trying so hard not to turn that page!

Empty

Like I said the first time I mentioned this song, I’m still a little conflicted including such a personal song, but there are so many weirdly appropriate lines that it feels unavoidable to add it to my list. Since it talks about a voice arriving, it lines up almost perfectly with their relationship before they started being weird about each other, terribly hate filled. “Fill up on water and shame” and “Convince myself I’m in control and it’s not all the voice that makes me sick” especially stick out to me, as well as “empty” as a theme, Edgar’s mindscape is so blank! (Also if you watch the behind the scenes, there’s red yarn which is weird :0)

Beauty and the Beast

Well that’s a bit obvious, isn’t it lol. I only really started to consider it because of the minor key though, the way the tone twists and shifts with the new notes and mixing, ah it’s lovely. I especially like the way “Barely even friends, then somebody bends unexpectedly” hits, they’re always surprising each other! Bittersweet and strange indeed.

I want you to want me

Yet more minor key covers, yay. I was originally going to tie this one to mainfic, most specifically Edgar’s desire to get home from work to see Scriabin heh, but now there’s some interesting new layers with Manual Override, especially Scriabin trying to convince Edgar and himself. Scriabin is Scriabin no matter what though, so he’s always going to push for what he wants, in every context!

Toxic

A bit on the nose perhaps ♪ I think my mind was wandering while I was thinking about Once Again and it landed just long enough on this song to desperately want to give it a relisten, and whoops ♪ For whatever reason, Edgar drinking from “the Devil’s cup” really stood out as a strong image to me, either from his visit to Hell or redirecting those feelings onto Scriabin. Somehow this version really gives the vibe of them fully permeating each other, hateful and desiring and hard to pick apart.

The Devil’s Backbone

On recommendation, I have indeed added this one to my personal playlist! I was surprised, I’m usually so picky with my music but I could not stop listening to it. It fits Edgar/Nny so well! That said, I can see Scriabin stealing a line as well now, “Somewhere between a hangman’s knot and three mouths to feed” with Edgar’s new life situation of Nny’s threat of death and living with Scriabin and Todd. The bridge is still completely Edgar tho, that absolute desperation is so good.

Stand By You

Ngl, I almost cried listening and recontextualizing this one, the line “If your wings are broken, borrow mine so yours can open” just- agh. Also they never got to walk through Hell together so it only half works but I’ll take it! Probably especially relevant to the final chapter of You Can’t Live Like This, their little discussion sitting on the floor, pledging their lives to each other again fdjsalkfdsf

Monster

I can’t but imagine a bouncy Scriabin gloating about how he was made, “Feed me your negativity, talk some more about me ♪” Too bad it’s Monster rather than Demon eh! “I see how you’re going crazy, always thinkin’ ‘bout me” works rather well too, there’s a lot of lines that suit him! He’s so insufferable haha. The bridge is quite good too, “It could’ve been so different between us, then you went and messed everything up.” He’s always blaming Edgar!

Kitchen Fork

I’ve wanted something of Jack Conte’s for a while now, there’s so much chaotic energy in all his songs. I feel like this one and Bloody Nose both really suit Violation, there’s a really lovely disjointed energy, though I think Kitchen Fork works more generally. “Wake from the scar” and “Save us from our own two heads” are both really great lines for Edgar especially, and the rising violins are so unnerving.

The Mind Electric

I drew to this one quite early but it wasn’t until I started thinking about it a bit harder that I realized just how well it works, especially with Diaryfic/Hospitalfic. Much like with Stay, I can imagine this one working well as an animatic, it’s all very evocative of imagery. Would Scriabin be the “Lord” or would the doctors? Hmm. “Doctor, I can’t tell if I’m not me” continues to be a great line for both of them.

Manipulate

Nate needs to stop with making literally every song so adaptable, I can’t keep giving away my heart like this. Another song that switches POV from verse to verse, starting with Edgar and then with Scriabin: “Find somebody else to call your home.” “You stab me in the back and then you make demands! You say it’s only you? I got another plan.” “Maybe you could torture someone else.” “Maybe I don’t have the strength to follow you Hell.” I cry okay. I can’t just list all the lyrics, they’re all too good.

The (Y/H/C) haired, (Y/E/C) eyed girl sat in the dinning room of Emily Young and Sam Uley’s home. The two girls were talking absentmindedly while Emily, who was dressed in jeans and a flannel top, cooked homemade muffins for the expected pack members that were returning at any moment. (Y/N), the imprint of the pack’s third-in-command, Paul Lahote, sat at the dinning room table picking away at the banana bread her close friend had made earlier in the day. Her gray t-shirt was pulled taunt of her swollen belly, light-washed skinny jeans gripping her legs, her shoes left at the door as her feet were propped up on another chair.

“You’ll have to try it! It’s amazi-” She had cut herself with a low hum of discomfort as the baby growing within her kick with all its might.

“Are you alright?” Emily asked the girl, dropping what she was doing and making her way over to her close friend, who was now over seven months pregnant.

“Yeah, he just kicked a little harder than usual.” (Y/N) laughed lightly at how quickly her friend grew concerned.

“Don’t laugh at me. You know Paul would get me if something happened to you or her.” Emily quickly joked back as she returned to her forgotten muffin tin. (Y/N) only rolled her eyes playfully.

The entire pack went between calling the baby a him or a her as Paul and (Y/N) had wanted to keep the gender a surprised until they were born. Something the (Y/N) was buzzing from excitement over it, not only because she wanted to meet her baby but because the baby did not appreciate its confined space and loved to kick its mother at all times of the day.

Suddenly, a whistle filled the calm air followed by Jared and Embry’s voice. Although both girls were happy to see the return of the two, their smiles were slightly smaller than normal as neither of their imprinters were with them. The two boys came through the door and shockingly went right for the muffins Emily was setting on the dining table.

“Are you boys hungry?” Emily asked as she set the platter down.

“Like you have to ask.” (Y/N) laughed, commenting on Emily’s question. Jared, who had took the seat next to her, shoved her playfully, mumbling a quiet whatever. Embry, who was across from them, laughed at the interaction as he shoved his face with a warm muffin.

“Who’s this?” Emily asked, pulling everyone’s attention to the dark haired, dark eyed, pale looking girl who stood at the door. She was trying hard not to stare at the scars that marked up Emily’s face.

“It’s Bella Swan. Who else?” Embry called out.

“So you’re the vampire girl.” Emily said looking her up and down as the three at the table snickered at the interaction.

“So you’re the wolf girl.” Bella stated trying to create an interaction, feeling awkward. Emily giggled slightly before responding.

“I guess we both are.” She gestured to the other girl in the room, “Well, we’re both engaged to one.”

“Yeah but this one also got knocked up by one.” Jared added and pointed with his already half eaten muffin at (Y/N). The girl only jokingly rolled her eyes at the comment as she watched Jared go to grab another muffin, only stopped by Emily’s grip on his arm.

“Save some for your brothers and ladies first.” She hit the middle of the two boys’ back, pushing them forward slightly as she looked at Bella, “Muffin?”

“Umm sure thanks.” She stepped towards the platter, grabbing a muffin. She then stepped away from the table, nearby the stairs behind (Y/N). The tension the room held was almost unbareable.

“Leave it to Jacob to find away around Sam’s gag order.” Emily said to no one in particular as she turned around, returning to her cooking and baking. Bella quickly defended her long time friend,

“Umm, he didn’t say anything to me.”

(Y/N) turned around in her seat to look towards Bella. The girl’s eyes immediately gawking at the beautiful round bump (Y/N) supported. Embry broke her out of the stare as he spoke up.

“It’s a wolf thing. Alpha’s orders get obeyed whether we want them to or not. Oh, and check it out. We can hear each others thoughts.”

“Would you shut up?” Jared exclaimed, shock at his friend willing giving away their abilities to their sworn enemies for centuries, “These are trade secrets, Dammit! This chick runs with vampires!”

“You can’t really run with vampires ‘cause they’re fast.” Bella responded almost nervously, nevertheless, a smile on her face.

“Yeah?” Jared cocked his head slightly to his right, leaning forward to emphasis his point, “Well we’re faster.”

“Freaked out yet?” He raised his eyebrows, (Y/N) looked at the girl that Jacob has talked about nonstop waiting for her response. Bella shook her head before responding.

“You’re not the first monsters I’ve met.”

“Well they are the better ones.” (Y/N) said under her breathe as the two boys snickered being the only ones who heard it with their super-hearing.

“Jake’s right. You’re good with weird.” Sam said as he walked in, eyes locking with the leech-lover, as the boys call her.

The room fell silent as they all watched as Sam went over to his fiancé. He immediately took the smiling girl into his arms, peppering kisses all over her face and neck, the two giggling lightly, lost in their own world. No one could fight the smile that broke on their faces as they watched the interaction, the two in total joy.

After a moment, (Y/N) wanted to stand to clean her dishes. She put one hand on the table and the other on Embry’s shoulder, who held onto both her forearms, pulling slightly to her her stand. She pushed in her chair, grabbed her empty plate, and walked - wobbled - to the kitchen sink.

The banter between Paul and Jacob caused (Y/N) to stop her actions, turning around and watched as the two walked in, shoving each other jokingly. Paul was the first to enter, instantly strolling over to the mother of his unborn child, trying to ignore the presence of the vampire lover in the room still.

“How are my beautiful girls?” Paul whispered leaning down to put a kiss to the forehead of his imprint, both his hands rested on (Y/N)’s tummy.

“Me and him are doing just fine.” She emphasized the word him as the two continuously disagreed over the gender of their baby. (Y/N) thought it would be a boy, who’s strong and handsome as Paul and Paul thought it would be a baby girl who would be just like his mother: smart, beautiful and caring.

“Glad to hear it.” Paul responded, turning back to the table to eat some of the wonderful food set out by Emily. (Y/N) returned to the sink, continuing to clean the dishes in it. Jacob and Bella walking out the home, he was most likely off to explain the shape-shifting abilities the Quileute tribe held.

Suddenly (Y/N) made a very audible moan of pain, the growing baby kicked with what seemed like both its legs and all of its might, probably a reaction of hearing its father’s deep, rough voice. The kick so intense to a point where (Y/N) bent over the sink, one arm wrapped itself around the lower portion of her belly and the other gripped the edge of counter as the after shocks still twitched throughout her entire body.

Paul, hearing (Y/N) groan in pain and feeling his imprint's pain, quickly returned to her side.

“(Y/N)? What’s wrong? Tell me how to help.” Paul rushed out. The worry evident in his voice to everyone in the room.

“I’m okay.” (Y/N) breathed out, the pain still there, especially in her back, but it was tolerable.

“Are you sure?” Sam asked from his spot, holding Emily who also looked concerned, “We could call Sue. She can probably look you over.”

“Call her.” Paul said at his Alpha and friend before (Y/N) could even open her mouth.

“No. I’m okay. Don’t worry her.” She looked over at Sam, suddenly noticing all the worried and concerned faces at her. Sam and Paul looked at each other, obviously communicating.

Call her, Sam. I’m worried for them both.

I was going to anyways. Carry her up to the spare bedroom while I call.

Paul swiftly put his arms behind (Y/N)’s leg and behind her back, picking her up. Her little frame was easy for him to pick up even with the bump.

“What are you doing?” (Y/N) asked confused as Paul carried her upstairs.

“You’re going to lay down. I don’t want you on your feet till Sue makes sure you’re okay.”

“Paul. I said I was okay. Don’t you dare bother that wom-”

“Sue is on her way! She’ll be here in 5!” Embry yelled up the stairs, cutting the girl’s words off.

(Y/N) glared at her lover as he gently set her on her back on the small bed that was shoved into the corner of the room. He laid with her, one hand placed on the middle of her stomach.

He’s whipped beyond repair Jared laughed out loud

You’re right but I hope she’s okay

So do I, I don’t wanna hear more of his whining

The boys, besides Paul, all laughed loudly.

She or my child are hurt I’m ripping all your throats out.

Paul would never actually carry out that action because he knows it was not his brother’s faults. He just wanted them to shut up.

Watch it. Sam snarled when he heard Paul threatening his pack brothers in his head. Paul audible growled out loud. Loud enough for the pack downstairs to hear him.

“What’s wrong? Is that vampire back?” (Y/N) asked not knowing the conversation that happened in the heads of the shape-shifters, but scared the vampire they’ve been having problems with lately had returned.

“No. Nothing, baby girl. relax.” Paul quickly replied, sensing her anxiousness. She did as he said and relaxed, placing her left hand on top of his that laid on her stomach still as he kissed the top of her head. Paul caught a glimpse of the diamond engagement ring that was on her left ring finger and smiled knowing they would never be apart.

“(Y/N), what’s going on?” Sue Clearwater pulled the couple out of their thoughts, Paul began standing beside the bed to allow her to work. Her long black hair pulled back into a single ponytail.

“I’m fine. Paul’s just scared.” She joked as she sat up slightly.

“You don’t say?” The nurse teased, knowing the protective nature the shapeshifter held for the girl and the girl alone.

“You mind?” Sue asked as she gestured to the expecting mother’s shirt. (Y/N) pulled the gray shirt up as she laid back down.

For the next few minutes, she felt her stomach, asking if anything hurt outside the normal and if she’s noticed any changes lately.

“Well considering you’re coming close to being 8 months,” Sue started pulling her friend’s shirt back down and helped her sit up, “I assume the baby is just moving positions, getting ready to come out soon.” She finished smiling.

“Thank you.” (Y/N) smiled the smile that everyone she shows it to falls in love with it.

“Of course. If anything gets worse call me. If I don’t answer and it’s serious. Take her to the ER.” Sue looked at Paul seriously.

“Will do.” nodding his head at her.

“I’ll leave you two alone. Enjoy while it last, he’ll be here soon.” She smiled as she waved and walked out.

“I told you.” (Y/N) giggled, Paul shook his head as he moved in front of his favorite person, kneeling down as she still sat down on the bed.

“I know.” He put his hands on her stomach once again, her left covering his right one.

“I just worry. You know I’m the one who worries about you. I can’t lose either of you.” He replied looking up at the beautiful girl in front of him

“I love you Paul.” (Y/N) smiled that smile again and placed her right hand on the back of his head, running it through his hair like he likes.

Paul was pretty sure he was falling in love with his imprint all over again when she smiled at him, “and I love you (Y/N).”

the baby kicked for a third time within the last two hours, the couple both feeling it.

“I love you too little one.” Paul laughed looking at her belly before placing a kiss on top of it.

“Forever.”
