#i know the twins were humans in Unova

*points to Arceus* I mean his entire mythology is very similar? Although the twins of ideal and belief and their fighting, is PROBABLY the actual closest thing to the Cain Instinct.
Dialga conked Palkia on the head with a big rock and thus the myth was born.

Hisuian Zorua Akari AU with a mashup of Akari From Our World, sorta. Same idea, not entirely the same Akari.
Rather than Akari just getting yoinked from our world and dropped into the Pokémon world, she dies and is reincarnated as a Hisuian Zorua. In this AU, she's tried her best to play all of the games, and in situations she couldn't afford it, watched other people do playthroughs while fantasizing about how she would have done it.
As a result, unlike in the main branch of Akari From Our World, Akari knows the BW games. And she liked them. A Lot. The entire region was completely made up of Pokémon that were entirely new, instead of just introducing some new Pokémon to add into the already existing dex. Which means there's way more new Pokémon than ever before! She hyper fixated on this game well past when it lost it's spark. People were moving on to the next three games while she was stuck with her eyes glued to the BW games.
So, yes, she knows who the Subway Bosses are. She adores them. They're the only facility heads who open their battle facility early on and allow you to enter regardless of your badge count! You don't need to be champion or anything. Which means it's a serious battle facility that's open to non-competitive battlers! Which is adorable?? Akari thinks that's really sweet!!! Everyone's allowed to try!
And now she's a Pokémon in the Pokémon world. Which means the first thing she has to do is figure out how to get to Unova— oh never mind she's already there. Okay the first thing she needs to do is FIND THE SUBWAY BOSSES.
She's a Pokémon now and she wants to do Pokémon battles even if she isn't the trainer AND. she wants her trainer to be a SUBWAY BOSS.
She finds the Subway Bosses really easy, of course. All she needed to do was head to Gear Station, which meant getting on a train and waiting until the intercom says they've arrived to Nimbasa's Gear Station.
First twin she finds is Ingo. She gets so excited she leaps at him and starts nuzzling his face before her Human Sensibilities kick in and she's like. Am I rubbing myself all over this grown adult man??? What is wrong with me???
Ingo of course is unaware of all of her thought process and just got pounced by the friendliest and weirdest looking Zorua he has ever seen.

After seeing Ingo pouting that Emmet gets mistletoe kisses, Chandelure begrudgingly floats above her trainer with a bit of her own so Ingo can get some much needed affection from his darling.
She takes it off as soon as her job’s done.
cw: fluff
The ghost-type felt frustrated as she watched her trainer go through the motions of his job. It was more than reasonable why, as the station was filled with people desperately trying to get across Unova to wherever they needed to be for the holidays. The battle lines were temporarily suspended to allow for a heavier focus on solely transport, too. It had been nothing but going between endless customer service and general managerial work around the station for poor Ingo. He did not want to be here, either. Tomorrow, the station would be closed alongside most things within the region, but for today, everything was operating as near usual.
Her trainer was a romantic, she knew. He loved sweet things to share with his partner, and domestic activities drew out such bliss from him that she could not ignore… despite her dislike of any romantic partner he would dare take. You had lasted the longest, alas, making you her number one enemy. Yet, she knew it was also you that could break her beloved Ingo from his emotional pause. The bags under his eyes from the sheer amount of time he had spent working with little to no breaks made her flames burn in anger.
She floated him away from the crowds of people and towards his office. Ingo scolded her lightly and struggled against it but ultimately allowed the ghost type to take him away. He was dropped on the couch as she desperately looked around the room for anything to help him relax. Nothing seemed an obvious choice. The Subway Boss leaned back against the couch as he took his hat off for a moment. His feet hurt, and the beginnings of a headache beat into his skull. Her panic could only worsen. Floating over his phone, she sent a picture to the first contact in his recent conversations, desperately hoping it would be Emmet to come save him.
Instead, she had messaged you.
Needless to say, both of them were startled when the door to his office slammed opened and you rushed in. Looking around frantically, you calmed down upon seeing the Subway Boss sprawled on the couch. A thought suddenly crossed Chandelure's mind as she watched you make your way over to him, pressing a soft hand to his forehead. Emmet had been obsessed with this mistletoe thing that Ingo had tied to her to make her more festive. Floating over above you both, she wondered if it had some mystical effect on humans or something.
You both stared up at her for a moment. A laugh from you broke the tension and silence in the room, while Ingo cleared his throat, and his cheeks grew pink. Leaning forward, you cupped his cheek and grinned at him. “Would you look at that, Ingo?” you teased him lightly, “You know what that means, right?” A sigh left him. His expected reaction of telling you off did not happen, as he suddenly leaned forward to press a kiss to your lips. It had got you off-guard. His lips moved against yours as he wrapped his arms around you to pull you into his lap. The kiss grew more intense as your own arms came around his neck.
“I love you,” was mumbled against your lips as he pulled you even closer to him, feeling all his troubles melt away from your contact.
Chandelure let out a huff when she determined her job was done. Not another look at the mushy scene was given by her as she floated out of the office. She gasped as the sight of a cocooned Emmet being dragged in by Galvantula from the main station area. It seemed Ingo was not the only twin overworking himself today.

Is there a summary of the fulcrum au?
undoubtedly but i don't feel like looking for it so. quick recap!
twin dragons au -- ingo is Zekrom and emmet is Reshiram. the way it works in this is that they can be Either human Or dragon but not physically both at the same time. zero dragon traits in human form, etc.
which is why it's Really Freaking Weird And Alarming when emmet finds himself half-reshiram'd one day. (especially once he later realizes ingo is missing--)
anyway. ingo gets eeby deebied and something about the trip to hisui smushes his human and pokemon form together. and since he and emmet/reshiram are so closely connected it kinda. pushed back to him as well.
various side notes under the cut;
- ingo arrives in hisui with no memories, but does have a somewhat easier time regaining them, especially once akari shows up and helps him
- dad ingo. adopts akari. we love to see it
- he also isn't technically a warden but the pearl clan lets him do what he wants. they treat him like a person, for the most part, but not really like a Human, if that makes sense. he's treated normally but there's always a strange tone to most of his interactions with the residents of hisui.
- pearl clan also decided he must be a gift from sinnoh. adaman saw this, decided ingo is a gift from HIS sinnoh and actually belongs with his own clan. ingo ignores this and hangs out in the highlands the majority of the time. but does spend a lot more time with the pearl clan because they're the ones that found him and took him in
- meanwhile. emmet stays out of public eye for a hot minute. and by that i mean a month or so. which isn't that surprising considering his brother disappeared. people figure he's just trying to cope.
- but. he's driving himself insane he can't stay away from the subway that long he has GOT to get back. or he will die. (he says this, dramatically, to elesa). and there's no leads on getting him back to normal.
- (technically, he could take a trip to sinnoh and call up arceus. but with ingo missing he feels that leaving the region would be a bad idea and totally irresponsible.)
- so he just. Shows Up At Work One Day. all half-reshiram'd. as if there is nothing wrong. depot agents, after a moment of baffled staring, have to just roll with it.
- the Public, however. dhkshsksbsksjd
- all he can say is that he has No Idea why he is Like This (true) and it happened when ingo disappeared (true). "But why do you look so much like Reshiram?" "you expect me to know the answer to that?? i'm a train conductor." (blatantly skirting around the truth without directly lying).
- eventually unova accepts that. yeah okay their subway boss is fluffy now. weirder things have happened tbh.
- surprisingly enough, the whole thing stays pretty well contained within unova, ESPECIALLY nimbasa. emmet is THEIR subway boss and he's Going Through It. he deserves to be treated well. etc.
- ANYEEWAYE. cut back to hisui. ingo adopts akari etc etc etc. she starts helping him regain his memory. and the more things he remembers, the easier it IS to remember.
- once akari finishes the pokedex, he remembers a significant amount of his human life. not quite enough to be Normal, but a fair amount. (he also remembers some stuff from being a legendary dragon, but a legendary dragon is a LOT more long-lived than a human. there's a Lot there to remember. and is a lot more... nebulous of a mind than a human's.)
- akari takes him with her when she goes to fight arceus. ingo has a little chat <3. arceus puts ingo and emmet back how they were before, because they cannot exist in the long-term with their forms smushed together like that.
- (Emmet wakes up one day human again, doom-brains himself into thinking ingo died despite how that would be impossible (considering zekrom is literal deity, the embodiment of the concept of ideals.). spends like two hours like that before elesa and drayden and iris have to knock some sense into him.)
- arceus. like. because Ingo asked nicely, arceus retcons (not Really retcons because it knew ingo would ask this when it did it. time is weird) kyurem into having a human form. caveats of this includes. kyurem doesn't Know or Remember that they're kyurem. they can't shift into kyurem. etc. because kyurem shouldn't be able to have a human form in the first place because of their. them-ness. their existence. makes it impossible. but arceus makes it possible because ~hadwavey seals their power away and uses its own to keep the human form intact idk~ Arceus-ness.
- ingo and akari spend the next few weeks tying things up and saying goodbyes before they go home. (ingo goes around saying his goodbyes and expressing his gratitude to people. COMPLETELY forgetting to mention the very important fact that he was that one dragon guy. he goes around to the same people a second time, significantly more mortified, and explains.) (akari was there most of the time and let it happen. it was hilarious.)
- ANYWAY eventually ingo and akari go home. happy reunions time!!!
- (and then, of course. we get into what is almost like the postgame plot equivalent of the au dkshksdhksjsjd. Who Is Kyurem?)

So how about some head cannons of a Cynthia x Reader? Like let’s say when Arceus sends either Rei or Akari to the Hisui region he had to balance it out by sending a person from the past to modern day Sinnoh. Also that you were part of the Survey Corps.
**Hi Anon! sure can do, i might of not played Arceus yet I'm willing to try! hope you like it!! - Bean**
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cynthia x Reader : A Survey Corp in Sinnoh
Reader is 18+ and is gender neutral
One minute you were on your way to Cyllene to show off your new findings in your pokedex and next minute your slap bang in the middle of a foreign town with no clue where you are.
Meanwhile Cynthia was supposed to be taking a small break from the Pokémon league in Hearthome city but take her mind of her upcoming Pokémon world championship league tournament coming up within a few weeks.
Both of you happen to cross paths in Hearthome, you were confused and honestly freaking out while she noticed you from a distance confused but mostly why you looked so out of place..
Still in your thoughts Cynthia approached you, did you scream and ask her why this Volo person was here too? yes but on further inspection it just seemed to be someone who looked like him much to her confusion.
After your rocky meeting, she's sceptical, who isn't when a person appears out of nowhere claiming to be from the long forgotten Hisui region?
But all of that is squashed when you show her your extensive Pokedex and your team full of Pokémon she's never seen before, it amazes her.
After a while she opens up about her past and her life as a champion, you inform her about the vast lands of Hisui and your job as a Survey Corp of documenting Pokémon.
"This is Cyrus the leader of team Galactic, him and his team are a pain in my si-" "wait why does he look like Cyllene?" "Who's Cyllene?"
You support her at the Pokémon world championships! even though she didn't win your always there to give her the best support!
You become more and more aware of the different regions and the modern world of Pokémon and how they live together with humans makes you more want to stay here permanently but you know any day or any time you can be snapped back to Hisui.
So if that day happens Cynthia would want to go with you, you've already made her curious about this past region so why not visit herself and to be with you. (also totally not to smack sense into Volo)
But this does explain to her what happened to that Train conductor twin from Unova she's heard about...

Submas: Dragon shifter/soulmate au
Dragon Soulmate au: you were born with a strange ability that links you to one of the twin dragons of Unova.
====================================================
Reshiram! Emmet:
[Afab/Drag king! reader.]
"*hic* 'Cuse me" Y/n said clearing their throat as another hiccup escaped their mouth, while they listened to one of their clients tell her best friend where she was last night! See the cabaret Y/n work was hosting a bachelorette party, and the bride to be just found out her groom to be, Slept with someone in in her friend group! Y/n had a good feeling about who the culprit was; considering no in the group caused Y/n's... hiccups to act up, like the bride's best friend did.
They bit their tongue resisting the urge to tell the Bride what a scummy woman her maid of honor truly was, but knew alcohol and high emotions was a dangerous mix. So, Y/n kept their mouth shut... Until the MOH went home and Y/n decided to break their silence and tell the bride their suspicions, that earned Y/n a "How dare you accuse my best friend!" and the belligerent bride grabbed the host by the arm only to yelp and retract her hand like she'd grabbed a hot iron, and in a way she sort of did.
See, ever since Y/n was young there was the strange phenomenon that surrounded them... Aside from the lie detecting hiccups? they also seemed to have some invisible flame shield thing that protected them from people who showed any ill will or romantic intentions towards them!
It wasn't so bad when they were younger, cos' Y/n was very solitary child preferring to read with their Absol, but over time yearning for human companionship and touch starvation started setting in and Y/n would like to have a romantic partner without having them turn into a well-done steak every time they tried to get it on....
Yes it's happened, Y/n tried have a one night stand and the guy/gal passed out from heat-stroke which baffled the hell out of the EMTs when they checked them over, seeing as it was in the middle of November when this happened! Needless to say that guy/gal never called Y/n again, and the poor host was left thinking they were cursed to be alone.
A few weeks after the bachelorette party, Y/n was invited by their old job at the Nimbasa's trainer's academy to be a volunteer chaperon a camping field trip Drakon lake (not a cannon area I made it up) to do a observation of how the cold weather effected the fire and grass Pokémon in the area, this year aside from you and two other teachers, they had a celebrity volunteer: Emmet Trevithick of the Gear station, he was an odd one that's for sure! When he wasn't challenging students, he seemed pretty hellbent on getting to know Y/n much to their bafflement.
Over the course of the trip Emmet would often follow Y/n around like a lost Growlithe, asking where they were from, if they always wanted to be a teacher? When Y/n explained that they weren't a teacher anymore, it’s just that the school knew this group of students was known to be feral and unruly to the staff, but they surprisingly respected Y/n and listened to their old teacher. So, whenever these sort of trips were planned, Y/n was the first person the school would call and voluntell them to supervise the trip. Y/n would agree every time, When Emmet asked what they did now?
Y/n simply answered with a curt "Bartending..." as a small squeaky hiccup caused them to jerk up a bit... that wasn't a complete lie, People just get the wrong impression when Y/n tells them they work at a cabaret people automatically assume it's a strip-club and Y/n is a stripper, Emmet hummed at them curiously for second Y/n thought they saw his eyes flash blue, and his smile faltered a bit but quickly went back to normal, a little while later Emmet was in the middle of collecting the kid's observation logs when two late comers came running from the lake trail.
Emmet recognized them from Y/n's group! the kids were talking so fast he barely caught what they were saying. "Y/n fell through the lake!" The conductor’s heart sank as he ran off into to the wood towards the lake, luckily the trees masked Emmet's transformation into his true form in a orange flash, Emmet Trevithick was replaced with the legendary dragon Reshiram!
The dragon Pokémon made it to lake where he saw Y/n's Absol stood nearby with terrified expression he followed her gaze and saw a hole in the ice! Reshiram/Emmet drove in into frozen lake without a second thought! Absol waited by the shore pacing a few seconds later Reshiram emerged from the lake with Y/n passed out on his head...
{mini timeskip]
*Urg... why's it so hot?* Y/n groaned and looked around confused wondering why was everything soft and white. Oh right... *I fell in the lake rescuing one of the kids...Am I in the hospital?" Y/n wondered as they sat up and winced they had gnarly headache as their eyes began to focus, They realized they weren't at the hospital they were in a cave! Y/n was further shocked to find themselves tucked in and snuggled up the white fur of a sleeping Reshiram, Y/n felt their heart rattle in their chest as they tried to quickly and quietly escaped but backtracked when they realized they were naked!
Y/n covered their chest sank deeper into the white dragon's fur while looking around frantically for their clothes, only to be greeted by a giant blue eye staring at them. "Y/n! Are you okay?....how are you feeling?" a familiar voice echoed in Y/n's mind as Reshiram watched them, it took a few seconds for them to recognize that voice.... "e-Emmet?" they stammered in shock. Needless to say, Y/n nearly passed out again as Reshiram/Emmet let out a soft rumble with they assumed was chuckle.... Confirming their suspicion.
Emmet explained everything to Y/n after giving them their clothes back, (they were drying off on his back.) To Y/n was shocked was an understatement, they absolutely floored, when they found out they were Emmet's soulmate, and that the lie detecting hiccups and fire shield was his boon.
"Wait... so you're the reason I've been touched starved virgin my entire life?!" Y/n said accusingly while pointing up at him dramatically Reshiram/Emmet tilted his head as he blinked at them dumbfounded before smirking. "Y'know...." in a flash of orange Reshiram was gone and Emmet was standing in front of them holding their hand. "We could change that.~" he purred kissing their hand, Y/n's face felt like it was on fire as a slap resonated through cave followed by a wimpy "Ooww... I was joking!" Needles to say the kids were so relieved the see Y/n was okay and very confused why Emmet had a hand print on his cheek.
------------------------------------------------------
Zekrom! Ingo:
{Fem/ Bi reader!}
They warned Y/n not to walk around Nimbasa at night. "dammit, what the hell?!" a guy exclaimed as he retracted his hand really fast and started shaking and flexing it, His friend asked what was up? "I don't know, I saw this cute girl and when I went to talk to her, I got shocked by something!" the two men started looking around the park confused wondering if there was Pokémon nearby, neither noticed the flustered y/ht woman hastily walk out of the park! "It happen again..." You mumbled to her red Charjabug, who chirped at her curiously.
Don't misunderstand, this wasn't a bad thing...sort of, see that guy had been annoying Y/n since she walked out of the café! He wouldn't stop following her, he said she was pretty cute looked lonely and asked if she wanted to hang and to meet his friends? The y/hc woman of course said no and kept walking but the guy wouldn't take no as an answer!
His attempt to "just talk" involved trying to grab her by the arm, he got zapped! Just like everyone else that showed a shred of interest in Y/n, be it romantic or hostile, some strange force always kept them at bay. At first Y/n like it...when she was six! cos eww boys icky! but now that she was an adult, Y/n just wanted to find someone to man or woman to settle down with, preferably someone who doesn't get zapped whenever they try to touch her!
Y/n as was wondering where such a person could be? she didn't notice the the caution down wires ahead sign in her path and waked right into a puddle, she heard a collective gasp. Y/n blinked looked up saw a crowd of people just staring at her horrified, her brows furrowed as looked around confused as a one of the road slowly put his hands up. "Ma'am, don't move!" Y/n looked at him bemused before he looked down, she followed his gaze and saw she was standing in a puddle. A puddle.... with a live electrical wire sitting in it!?
Y/n's heart did a back flip before falling into the deepest depths of her stomach. "Oh...shit..." she muttered as she eyed everyone gawking; probably wondering how come she isn't dead?! Yeah.. That's the other thing, along with basically being a living taser, Y/n also seems to be somewhat immune to electricity; to a degree, of course!
She never really tested just how far that immunity goes, she did think about standing out in an open field with a metal rod during a storm... But quashed that idea, and just had her then Grubbing to use spark on her, though the attack tingled it didn't actually hurt or anything, she just couldn't use any electronics or touch anything metal for a while!
Y/n's legs started to burn and itch, really badly! Which she knew was a bad sign, whatever was protecting her from the electrical current was staring to weaken! She felt a sense of dread rise in her belly, Y/n kept hearing people whispering but not one person moved to help her out of fear of getting electrocuted. They kept telling her to stay calm, they were working on it! Y/n was in tears debating putting Charjabug in his ball and tossing him to one of the workers. However, before the y/ht woman could even move a finger the entire street was suddenly cloaked in darkness...
*A power outage?* Y/n thought but that as soon proven wrong when the wind picked up suddenly a loud earth shattering clap of thunder resonated through out the city, It was so loud it caused the spectators to close their eyes or cover the ears, the already anxious Y/n could only gasp shock as something huge flew down from the night sky at a frightening speed and swept her up in it's large claws before flying off again! When the power came back on seconds later, people in the street were left scratching their heads about the strange disappearing woman.
Meanwhile Y/n was shitting bricks! she was the claws of a fearsome dragon god! which was fly thousands of feet in the air taking her to Arceus knows where! and oh crap...she was gonna be sick! She quickly called Charjabug back into his ball; since he fainted from shock! and nervously looked up at Zekrom. "Erm...Excuse me Mr. Zekrom?" Y/n stammered the dragon's red eye looked down at her curiously. "I don't feel good..." Zekrom let out a panicked grumble seeing Y/n looking a bit green with her hands thrown over her mouth! The Zekrom quickly scouted out the ground for a safe place to land and saw clearing in the forest below.
A few Pokémon scattered in fear as the large legendary made landfall. He carefully set Y/n down and air sick woman quickly ran to some bushes and threw up; not noticing the bright blue flash go off behind her. Y/n groaned in disdain and went to wipe her mouth with her scarf, when a gloved hand held out a handkerchief to her, Y/n blinked in confusion and followed the hand and was thrown threw another to see one of the subway bosses staring at her concerned. "Where did yo..." Y/n looked around and noticed Zekrom was gone! which confused her even more, Surely it couldn't have flown off? She would've noticed!
The conductor told her to calm down and he'll explain! Soo, yep! that's how Y/n she was the soulmate of one of the Unova dragon twins, that static that always protected her? that was Zekrom/Ingo's boon it ties her to him that's how he knew she was in danger and rushed in to save her before she got electrocuted to death!
Y/n didn't believe him at first, the story sounded absurd! But then Ingo took his glove off did something that no one's been able to do since Y/n was a child, he held her hand...Y/n winced expecting him jump away from the sudden electric shock, But to her bafflement nothing happened! she saw Ingo's sclera briefly flash red as he intertwined their fingers he was telling the truth... Y/n didn't know what to do from here, but she had feeling life won't be as lonely these days.

If you would please give us divine intervention au plot!!
i ABSOLUTELY will thank you SO MUCH for asking (not sarcasm). sorry in advance but i have been unable to think about literally anything else for three days. i cannot stop rotating these two in my head. long post so buckle up
As for Elesa and Emmet, they were kind of just dragging along and keeping each other afloat for a few years. Emmet was running himself ragged keeping both the singles and doubles lines running, because if he stopped moving he knew he wouldn’t be able to start up again. Elesa was taking on extra work and occasionally running the multi line with Emmet. If she’s not working, she’s thinking, and if she’s thinking, she’s spiraling - so she keeps working. They were mostly both just trying to keep busy while holding out hope that the cops would find Ingo. Both of them refuse to grieve for someone that isn’t dead. At some point around the eight-ish month mark Elesa just sort of. stopped going home and informally move into the twins' house. She starts to hate quiet (the kind that comes with being alone, at least). She stays on the couch. (i see the trio as more of a sibling dynamic btw so that’s what everything should be read as)
The day the officials closed Ingo’s case and declared him dead (which went much longer than usual - around 4 years - just because of how high profile the case was), Elesa came home to Emmet working on research on multiple possible leads at once and didn’t think twice before taking some off of his hands. Emmet is the one who realizes (two days into their bender) that they should call out of work. It’s the first time either of them have used extended vacation time. Also, it’s worth noting that Emmet has not gone nearly as batshit as like, common fanon (which I wholeheartedly support btw i DO think he should be allowed to make his way to heaven through violence to fight god) because Elesa is right there with him from the start. He’s living with another human who has ALSO been steadily reaching the end of her rope at the same time as him. So, like, they’re socialized. More or less.
So basically, Zekrom tunes in to these two humans running entirely on ideals, spite, and coffee and decides this is absolutely a storyline it wants to follow. It's like a shitty soap opera you start watching simply because it's on, but then twenty hours later of straight consumption later you've become irreversibly attached to these characters and fully immersed in their drama. It has a selfless reason for everything it does, including (especially) the more selfish-appearing acts, such as annoying Emmet or purposefully withholding information, since despite its more chaotic nature, it DOES wish to see these two succeed in finding their brother. Especially after it starts to actually like them.
I’m thinking Zekrom is just kinda vibing for a couple weeks, keeping the two on track while also subtly slowing them down. It tries to kick Elesa off the couch and she wins THAT fight by a landslide, to which Zekrom pretty much just goes “okay you’re my trainer now. now find me somewhere to sleep.” Then when the lake trio show up in Unova, Zekrom puts Emmet and Elesa on their trail. It can’t like, straight up tell them where Ingo is (because it doesn’t know) or send them back in time (because that isn’t within its power and also it doesn’t know), but it CAN be a homie. A bro. It’s got connections.
Shenanigans ensue. At some point, they stop thinking of themselves as “Emmet and Elesa” and they become “Emmet and Elesa and Zekrom”, just in time for Bad Things to happen :)
This isn’t actually like, a plot thing, but I like to imagine that Reshiram feels Zekrom disappear from the timeline and goes, “oh you have GOT to be fucking kidding me.”
Which reminds me; clarification, just because I know what the expectation is: Reshiram isn’t involved in this. I see Zekrom as the more social of the two, so it has no problem hopping on board another human’s train so soon, but Reshiram got woken up and then immediately had to work with some kid to keep some OTHER kid from using Zekrom to end the world. It’s on good terms with the champion, but it has no interest in interacting with any humans for the next century, except for like, Sunday afternoon tea with the champion. So, no, Emmet doesn’t get Reshiram. Elesa grabs the Zekrom aesthetic as soon as humanely possible (she needs a new outfit for travel anyway), and if need be, they say it’s her pokemon, but it’s more the third member of their little group rather than one of the humans’ pokemon. The pokeball is just for convenience’s sake, and the moment Zekrom wants to leave it, it will. So think of it more like “creatures of various levels of deification keep moving into Emmet’s house and NONE of them are asking him first” rather than “Elesa gets one of the legendary dragons and Emmet gets jack shit”
Fuck this got long lmao. Anyway, they’ll find Ingo, and it’ll have a happy ending. Eventually.

What DO the public masses and the government think and do about Ingo now? Please tell me they are told the truth the sheer hilarity would be incredible. Would Ingo be considered his brother's age or three years old.
...Would Ingo have any problems interacting with people, considering he never really interacted with anyone outside of Emmet in his formative years and he lived on a mountain for the first 3 years of his life? That can't have been good for his development. Even when he did talk to people he just needed to act like Emmet and now he needs to be his own person (yay! But that seems like it would seem terrifying at first.).
OOH how do the depot agents react? They already interacted with Ingo, though they had no idea.
This is probably one of my favorite asks so far, because it gave me so much to think about. Which is also why it's taken me a bit longer to answer. I am trying to answer asks on a first come, first serve basis. To the best of my ability! Thank you for the ask!
Anyway, this post is VERRRRRY long, absolutely monstrous by my criteria, so under the read more it goes. You have been warned. I apparently can not shut up, lol.
So, the government. It doesn't take long for everyone to realize that Ingo, legally, does not exist. Without any identifications, there's a lot that you can't do that is important for thriving in modern society. So, yeah, they need to tell Unova's governing body the whole truth so that they can get Ingo on the fast track to the living life.
And unfortunately, the first destination on that journey is the hospital. Because Ingo spent the first three years of his new life in Sinnoh, a few centuries in the past. Man's health is either Not Good, or it's about to be. Which creates a lot of confusion for the health department, because. Well. Because. The explanation that this random haggard man needs all of his vaccines because he lived in the past for three years and didn't even have a corporeal body before that is a lot to take in, you know? And then there's the fact that the only existing documentation for this Mr. Ingo is a death certificate dated back to 28 years ago(?!?!?!).
The first solution they come up with to solve this conundrum is to do a DNA test and compare to other living family for proof of relation, and to just. Make sure they're not being made a clown.
Fun fact. When Arceus created Ingo's new body, he basically copy pasted Emmet's DNA, attached it to Ingo's soul with cosmic super glue, and called it a day. They're already twins, it's fine. :)
Yeah, they weren't ready for it when the results for Ingo's and Emmet's DNA results came out as a definitively exact match. Actually, they don't know what they were expecting.
During the few weeks that Ingo spends hospitalized for both acclimating and quarantine purposes, the identifications services go into a flurry of action to create documents for this new human adult person that spawned into existence from Arceus knows where. (See what I did there.)
Fun times. The government workers will literally never forget this for their entire lives. They will remember it as the most bizarre event they've ever experienced, bar none.
As for his official age now, since Ingo's body is physically 28, same as his brother, and he is mentally the same age, they just kinda shrug and say, yeah, sure, he's 28 years old. Never mind the fact that he's only been alive for three. Actually, don't think too hard on it. Don't.
Now, the depot agents. lmao
The day Emmet brings in Ingo for retraining and to "reinstate" him is a day of absolute chaos.
Emmet's first instinct, when he's formally introducing his brother to their employees during a meeting, is to gaslight them all into thinking Ingo had been their other boss the entire time three years ago. (When going into technicalities, it's hard to say if that's true or not. Which is the best part.)
"I am Emmet. I am getting down to business. Today, we will welcoming back Ingo to our work force. He went missing three years ago. He is back now. We will be resuming standard operating procedures with Ingo as the Subway Boss on the singles line again. Any questions?"
(Ingo, not having been forewarned of Emmet's plans, blinks and stares at his brother for a few moments, before mentally sighing and face-palming. He quickly decides to let Emmet get away with this, however. He's not immune to following along Emmet's whims, and he's not disinterested to see how this falls out.)
...
...
"A NEW SUBWAY BOSS?!
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AGAIN?!"
"HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE YOU, WHO IS HE?!"
"How rude! I am offended for Ingo. You forgot about him! Unforgivable. Yup! This is verrrry sad. Terrrrrible. Ingo is my twin brother. I was in grief over his absence for three years. I am disappointed you did not notice."
"I didn't forget, Boss Emmet! I've never set a foot out of Gear Station my entire life, so of course I remember Boss Ingo! We loved working with Boss Ingo, I don't know how anyone could forget a kind and jovial man like him!"
(Depot Agent Jackie is most definitely in on it.)
All of the depot agents are reeling at this new reality that they have to force their brains to get used to. Some would keep swearing up and down that there was never a Boss Ingo, but then Emmet would wave around the proof of employment (that he typed up literally an hour before the meeting) and they'd just be reduced to a state of mental sputtering and questioning reality. Many are a flustered mess whenever they end up interacting with Ingo himself.
Emmet and Ingo let the depot agents stew in this prank for just the one day, at least until Ingo finally convinces Emmet to hold another meeting the next day to tell the agents the full truth and allow the poor guys some peace of mind. (Ingo does scold Emmet a little for being so mean-spirited with this particular joke, though it doesn't last too long when Emmet points out that Ingo didn't stop him.)
Funny enough, the truth ended up being even more of a bombshell than the prank had been. Who woulda thought.
From then on, the twins and the depot agents do their best to stay professional and help ease Ingo back into the work routine as something like a Deputy Subway Boss, and they're pretty successful! It doesn't take too long to get Ingo fully instated as an official Subway Boss, Ingo being as enthusiastic and dedicated to the job as he is, and, over time, the agents slowly realize that they did miss him without ever knowing it. Three years ago, they really did notice his disappearance, ironically enough. Ingo's "personality" was suddenly gone, Emmet was never the same, and the work environment changed. It's weird, but in the end, they all end up thinking, "I'm glad he's back."
The day of Ingo's official promotion, the depot agents throw him a party and make sure to tell him this:
"Welcome back. We missed you."
The public's reaction to Ingo is a mixed bag, predictably.
The day of Ingo's reintroduction to Gear Station, the official Battle Subway PokeTwitter account announces: "Attention all passengers! Starting today, a new Deputy Subway Boss will be conducting us to our destination on the Singles Line! Deputy Boss Ingo looks forward to future travels with challengers. Will you go on to victory or defeat? All aboard!" (Attached is a picture of Ingo in the signature point and call pose, right hand pointing forward and left hand out to the side pointing down.)
Most responses to the announcement are basically either, "isn't that just Emmet?", or "I had no idea Emmet has a twin brother!". There's a lot of chipper "Welcome!" and "All aboard!" comments and some competitive "Can't wait to see what he's made of!" remarks, so the reception is generally a mix of confusion and enthusiasm.
And then it all came crashing down when one person says, "Isn't this the same guy who ran the singles line years ago, tho? Did he come back?"
One person unintentionally does what Emmet did to the depot agents to an entire social media community. Thus restarts the conspiracy theories again, much to Ingo's and Emmet's exasperation. If they weren't already practically celebrities by this point, then they definitely are now.
Emmet ends up using his personal account to address questions and clear it up as much as he can, while skirting around the full truth as much as possible, sometimes even outright dodging certain inquiries altogether. Ultimately, he and Ingo had decided it was best to keep it private knowledge that only certain people would know. Emmet's best efforts certainly couldn't stop rumors from sprouting all together, but it did help to placate the internet riots and calm them down. It only took about a week before the twins were no longer all PokeTwitter could talk about.
Now, interestingly enough, Ingo himself isn't doing too bad, socially. Sure, he did live on a mountain for a few years, but he also visited Jubilife Village often! He assisted at the training grounds, helped teach the villagers to befriend and battle with pokemon, often did any needed shopping there. He made sure to check in with the Pearl Clan regularly, it'd be rude to essentially go AWOL on them when they took him in and bestowed him a position as important as warden of their Lady Sneasler.
Point being, Ingo got past most of his social struggles during his displacement in Hisui. Learning how to human when in an entirely unfamiliar setting and without his memories was a huge challenge for Ingo, but he gradually settled into the new experience. Which is why going to modern day Nimbasa is such a huge culture shock. There's so many more people, ranging from incredibly kind to brutish in behavior, sometimes critical, sometimes indifferent. Despite this, Ingo has been able to be himself without question, without backlash, without fear, and it's a marvel.
The people that Emmet and Ingo had surrounded themselves with never failed to make Ingo feel encouraged and supported, including Emmet himself. Especially Emmet. Ingo has no idea what he would do without Emmet. He loves and appreciates his brother immensely. With all the assistance Ingo has, he may be nervous about meeting his new future, but he's determined to do it. Stubbornly optimistic, even. No matter what set backs or adversities Ingo may face, he has the greatest safety net holding him up.
(If Emmet ever finds anyone antagonizing Ingo, he will most definitely give them a traumatic beat down in a pokemon battle, and terrify the living daylight out of them by promising them eternal despair if he ever sees them near Ingo ever again.
Basically, Ingo: sunshine, Emmet: sunshine protector.
I am right, and I should say it. Luckily for everyone, it doesn't happen often. Nobody in their right mind would want to be mean to Ingo.)

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Lost Tracks of Time, The Final Stop
Summary: After Ingo and Emmet meet with an unexpected guest, they travel back to the PMD future.
Author's Note: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU @furiouskettle! They are the one who conceptualized Ingo and Emmet as Sneasels in the PMD verse, and this whole fic has been me running with the idea. They are the reason we got here, so thank you!!! I cannot say it enough!!
(Shippers DNI)
Ingo audibly gasped. “Emmet, that’s Volo!”
Volo looked behind Emmet. “Oh! Good to see you again, Subway Master Ingo! Or maybe I should say, good to see you again, Warden Ingo.”
Something hurt in Emmet’s chest. That sounded like when they met Togekiss. This was Togekiss’ trainer. Volo was the cause of Arceus kidnapping Ingo. Volo was the trainer Team Wish tried to resurrect, even if it meant destroying lives. The Red Chain. The Distortion. Giratina’s destructive blood. It all started from him. Emmet’s time in Hisui and Unova made the events from the future feel like an ancient destination, but it all flowed back to him. He was tortured. Ingo was tortured by watching him. They learned that from somewhere. It had to be from their trainer. It had to be from Volo.
Volo got a chill down his spine like when a wild pokemon plotted to attack him.
Emmet Mega Punched Volo in the face. Volo flew into an adjacent wall of the twins’ living room.
“EMMET!” Ingo covered his mouth as he ran down the stairs. His shout drew the attention of the pokemon playing in the backyard.
Two of Volo’s handmade pokeballs on his belt opened on their own.
“Don’t attack Volo!” Togekiss said. Though she still looked old for a Togekiss, her body looked strong, and her face lacked most of the wrinkles her future self had.
“How dare you!” Spiritomb said. He looked no different than he did in the future.
“You.” Emmet pointed to Togekiss and Spiritomb. He didn’t bother to hide his animosity.
Togekiss Moonblasted and Spiritomb Dark Pulsed Emmet. Spiritomb’s attack was no worse than a scratch, but Togekiss made Emmet fly into the couch, which itself was pushed back and dented another wall.
“What was that for?!” Eelektross asked as he flew into the scene with Chandelure in tow. He raised his voice as best he could.
“We want to know the same thing!” Spiritomb said as he got into Eelektross’ face.
Chandelure’s flames burst and burned with an intense energy. Ingo, Emmet, and Eelektross all knew it as Chandelure attempting to drain their life force.
Ingo ran and stood between Emmet and Volo’s pokemon. If this train continued its path, Emmet, Volo, or any of their pokemon would injure each other in a location not suited for major pokemon battles.  “Everyone, please cease!” Ingo said, pointing between Togekiss and Spiritomb and Emmet.
“Alright, alright, that’s enough,” Volo said with a cheerful tone for a human that just flew into a wall. Despite taking a pokemon attack to his face, there were no bruising or any sign of injury. “I appreciate you guys fighting back for me, but I probably deserved that one!”
“Why isn’t it working…?” a shyer but familiar voice said from behind Volo. It was Elgyem, holding onto his trainer’s leg and trying to use Psychic on Emmet.
“Oh, you wanted to help, too? How sweet.” Volo took out the pokeballs belonging to the three pokemon and recalled them back. He turned to Emmet and laughed. “Wow! You’re pretty scrawny, but what a punch!”
“What are you doing here?” Emmet stood back up and readjusted his uniform.
“Well, you two went missing, and now you’re back! I wanted to say hi and also, you know, get back the book I let you borrow,” Volo said.
“…Volo, could we ask you to remain at this station so all three of us can discuss some things?” Ingo asked.
“Sure! The only place I gotta be at is some ruins, and those can wait another day out of a couple thousand years,” Volo said.
After he and Emmet moved the couch back to proper position, Ingo put on a pot of coffee. Emmet sat on the couch while Volo sat in one of the guest chairs. Eelektross draped himself over the back of the couch. Chandelure hovered above everyone, shifting their gaze between Volo and Ingo.
“Oh? You’re not putting away your pokemon. That’s fine, but then I get to keep one of mine out. Just to keep things fair,” Volo said. He opened a pokeball to release Togekiss.
Togekiss looked at Emmet out of the corner of her vision. “Hmph.” She hopped onto Volo’s lap and walked on him in circles before nestling down. Volo began petting along her back in broad strokes.
Emmet needed to play ignorant on Volo’s immortality. He needed to follow the rules and drive this conversation safely. He broke enough rules by punching Volo. That said, he could bend the rules since Volo knew Ingo time travelled. “How are you alive? Ingo went to the past. How are you here now?”
Volo laughed, though something was off about it. “Straight to the point, huh? Well, here’s one thing you should know about me: I love learning history. I like visiting ruins and ancient civilizations. Just thinking about learning all the mysteries of the past gets my heart pumping. I spent so much time looking at relics that I became one, too!”
“That doesn’t make sense,” Emmet said.
“Not everything does, even after you spent over a century trying to unearth the truth. For example, I can’t help but notice how similar you and Ingo look.”
Emmet blinked. “We are twins.”
“I know! That’s not what I meant.” Volo’s eyes narrowed. A smirk remained on his face. “When I met your amnesiac brother 150 years ago, he looked at least 10 years older than how you look now, Emmet. Despite that, he now looks like he hasn’t aged or changed a bit. Sure, maybe Ingo went missing in a different disappearance that hasn’t happened yet, but just now Ingo recognized me. How is all that possible?”
Emmet kept his smile on as wide as he could. “I don’t know.”
Ingo heard the entire conversation. His heartbeat drummed against his chest. He placed three cups and a pot of coffee on a serving tray along with sugar and cream. Volo’s mere presence transformed the air of their home. He recalled Akari telling him that Volo ordered Giratina to “strike her down”. The phrase unnerved him for nights. But Volo now was not an immediate threat, so Ingo was happy to prepare refreshments. If Volo was a threat to Emmet or their pokemon, this meeting would occur very differently.
Ingo took the tray to the living room. He poured a cup for Emmet, Volo, and then himself before sitting down next to Emmet and Eelektross. He also prepared Emmet’s coffee how he liked it (with sugar) before preparing his own (cream and sugar).
“Volo, Emmet said that he found my station after he received the book you sent,” Ingo said. “I thank you for helping us reunite, but why did you send the book to him? What do you gain from that?”
“Am I not allowed to help people? Especially those screwed over by Arceus like myself?” Volo raised the brow of his visible eye.
“”Screwed over”?” Emmet asked.
“You heard me. I don’t know what Akari told you about me, but I wanted to meet Arceus so badly my life depended on it. My life back then, back in the Gingko Guild, was hell. I only cared about learning about history, but…” Volo sipped his black coffee. “I fixated on one pokemon – the Almighty Pokemon, the one that created all of existence. If I could meet it, if I could catch it, then I’ll turn this world into my own.
“…Obviously, that didn’t work out. How amazing that Arceus chose a teenage girl and a lost man over one of the ancient Sinnoh people’s descendants! And not only did I lose, my own partner Giratina betrayed me. They didn’t just leave me, no. They wanted me to “walk the earth until I learned why I suck”. That’s their exact words, by the way. So yeah, that’s the real way I got immortality. I’ve been around for 150 years, just hanging around, checking out ruins, going all over the place, and watching humanity and pokemon become more intertwined…”
“So imagine my surprise when I saw a familiar face grace the screens. Warden Ingo, a man so depressed that his own pokemon doubled as therapy buddies, was once a battle frontier brain! Well, it’d be more accurate to say I saw two familiar faces.” Volo chuckled. “Sorry, couldn’t help myself.”
“But that made me think… If Ingo was here, that would mean that, one day, he would disappear and end up in Hisui. And I was right! That day came. Boy, that was a day.” Volo paused his soliloquy to sip his coffee. “I remembered something Ingo said to me, when we first got to know each other I asked Ingo if he felt from the space-time rift… Do you remember your answer, Ingo?”
“I have no cause to think the rift is to blame... but then again, I hardly remember a thing, so it's difficult to say with certainty. I can't remember my own home, nor my family, if I had any...”
Ingo’s stomach became queasy. He remembered that conversation. He remembered the comment. The Pearl Guild relied on him, and his pokemon were the closest thing he had a family. But that deep-seeded loneliness never left Ingo while his station was in Hisui.
Volo laughed for a second. “And did he have a family! So, not only was Ingo’s friends and family left to wonder where he went, not only was Emmet driven mad from grief, but Ingo was stripped of his memories and left in Hisui as a shell of his old self! Yeah, that is one cruel creator.”
“It was your fault it happened,” Emmet said. “You tried to destroy the world. Ingo was taken because of your plan.”
“True. But did Arceus really need to rob Ingo of his memories? Or leave you behind without a single explanation, Emmet?” Volo asked. He basked in the lack of response from the twins. “All three of us have been screwed over by Arceus. I figured it’d be nice to give Emmet some answers about where – and when – Ingo was. Can’t say I expected you to disappear the next day, though! And why was your friend Elesa screaming about you dying...?”
“Don’t ask,” Emmet said, averting his gaze.
“If I may ask, Volo, do you still have meeting and surpassing Arceus as your destination?” Ingo asked.
“Nah.” Volo shrugged. “Well, I’m still pissed at Arceus. If it showed up in front of us right now, I’d battle it! But I’m not gonna go out of my way to summon it. Not again. It’s just not worth it. I may not have destroyed the world, but the world I came from is long gone. That’s good enough for me!”
“Then what is your current destination? What journey do you want to take?” Ingo asked.
“Well, right now I’m just checking out as many ruins and relics I can possibly find and maybe witness some history along the way. You know, I saw one guy try to do what I did. He summoned and tried to control Dialga and Palkia. He kinda looked like Cyllene now that I think of it. You wanna know how that ended? My former partner Giratina appeared and struck him down! That was hilarious to watch,” Volo said.
“Regardless of your past actions, thank you for helping Emmet,” Ingo said. “We are approaching our final stop for this trip.” He stopped to ponder Team Wish’s actions. “I recall some words from Miss Akari, about how you called yourself a ‘pokemon wielder’ as opposed to a ‘pokemon trainer’. Do you think that title still applies to you?”
“Hm, good question,” Volo said. He finished the rest of his coffee in one gulp. “What do you think, Togekiss?”
“I think you’re good,” Togekiss said. She nuzzled into his free hand. “Better than you think, that is.”
Emmet struggled to contain his dread.
“In that case, just make sure you treat your pokemon well. Even if you somehow had your lifetime extended by extraordinary means, I doubt that the same occurred for your pokemon. Please cherish them while teaching them to accept loss,” Ingo said. “As you said, the world very different now compared to Hisui. Not everything will and should be the same. Trainlines change to fit passenger needs, and the same should be of you.”
Volo smile changed. It sent a chill down Ingo’s spine.  “What? Do you know something I don’t?” After he stared at Ingo and Emmet and the latter’s horrified face, he broke and laughed. “Ha! Just kidding. But no, really, what brought this on?”
“Just some parting words. Please reach a higher state where you are more content with yourself, okay?” Ingo pointed to Volo and the ground.
“Sure thing, Ingo. Good to meet you and your right hook, Emmet!” Volo waved as he and Togekiss walked to the front door, which Ingo opened.
“And one last item before we can allow you depart: you went out of your way to meet with Emmet and I. Will you or have you done the same for Miss Akari?” Ingo asked.
Volo huffed. “Akari hasn’t been born yet. But I might know who her parents are. As for what I’ll do the day she disappears… not sure. I need to see what her folks are like. If they’re cool, I’ll get them something nice. If they’re not…” Volo laughed again. “I may be envious of her ability to meet pokemon of all types, but she’s still a respectable trainer. Was. I’m assuming she stayed in the past, unlike you.”
Ingo hummed. “Very well then. Please have a safe journey.”
“You forgot something.” Emmet presented the book to Volo.
“Oh, thanks! Nearly forgot, I enjoyed out chat so much.” Volo took the book. “You know that Laventon took all these photos? He did a good job with that camera, I gotta say. Well! Thanks for the coffee!”
Ingo stared at Emmet.
“…I am Emmet. I am sorry for punching you,” Emmet said.
Volo laughed. “And I’m sorry for… everything else. Well, everything that happened to you, anyway.” After one last wave, he and Togekiss left the twins’ home.
Ingo closed the door behind Volo. He and Emmet visibly relaxed, but they waited a full minute before discussing what just happened.
“Emmet! It is against the rules to harm guests! And when did you learn Mega Punch?” Ingo asked.
“Last night when I was looking through my TMs,” Emmet said.
“You… punched him…?” Eelektross asked.
”What? Volo is immortal,” Emmet said.
“Our meeting could have gone much differently if he noticed you used a pokemon move! He even noticed how I look younger than I did back in the Hisui station!” Ingo said.
“It was a risk. But it was worth it.”
“Just… please don’t do something like that again.”
“Alright.”
“Now, with that established, I need to admit… I had to stop myself from laughing. Only because he wasn’t hurt.”
Emmet smiled wider. “My only regret was not attacking Togekiss or Spiritomb.”
“But… that was a close call. I sincerely urge you to never do a stunt like that again.”
“Okay. I am sorry. Not for punching Volo but for almost endangering us.”
Ingo nodded. He then hummed as he mused over the pokemon in the room. Eelektross nudged his head into Emmet’s hands, and Chandelure went back to squeezing his torso. But someone was missing.
“I miss Sneasler. We should return to our station in the future soon. Should we depart before or after the Battle Subway returns to full operation?” Ingo asked.
Emmet began pacing about to think. “We should depart when her gift is ready.”
Ingo nodded. “That sounds like a good route to take.”
***
That evening, Ingo and Emmet entered the Distortion World. Both landed on their feet with minimal sliding. Ingo carried two presents stacked on the other in one hand and held the Spike Maul of Space in the other hand. Emmet held a single present in addition to his Rail Spike of Time.
“We have arrived,” Emmet said.
Giratina flew close into Ingo’s and Emmet’s faces, intentionally blocking their view of the Distortion World. They smiled. “Ingo and Emmet, my saviors. I have a surprise for you.” Giratina brought their wings around to cover the twins’ eyes.
“You made a surprise for us?” Ingo asked. “Thank you very much!”
“I am Emmet. I want to see the surprise.”
Giratina wound up and drew back their wings. Ingo and Emmet gasped. Reaching into the distorted sky was train tracks. The tracks appeared bare – just the steel beams and wood with the Distortion World visible between the beams instead of being supported by a ground. The tracks led to the island, and in front of Ingo and Emmet was a two-car minecart train. The two ran to get a closer look at the makeshift train.
“You constructed a train system?!” Ingo asked. He looked inside the front minecart and found a series of levers and a simple control panel. The cart seemed to double as the engine.
“Yeah, I made it while you two were practicing your shapeshifting,” Giratina said. “I liked your point about me needing to fly you around constantly, so this can carry you around the Distortion World while I do my own thing. And I still get to help you out!”
“Excellent! Bravo!” Ingo said.
“That is verrry convenient. Thanks!” Emmet said.
“Yeah, but before you go, one question: what’s with the boxes?” Giratina asked.
“These are presents for Sneasler, my Chandelure, and Eelektross,” Emmet said, pointing to the boxes with both hands.
“You’re bringing it to the future, right…? Let me see what they are, just in case it might throw Dialga or Palkia into a fit,” Giratina said.
Ingo told Giratina what their presents were.
“…I can see no possible way that can cause a space-time problem. If one of the other two take issue, I will fight them on your behalf. Anyway, let me change you into Sneasels and send you on your way,” Giratina said. Shadows hands manifested to hold the twins’ gifts. Giratina initiated the transformation for both Ingo and Emmet, as they weren’t confident with the transformation to do so on their own yet.
For Ingo, the transformation was no worse than a simple line transfer. Ingo’s heart no longer strained from Giratina’s magic and the anxiety it once caused him. Giratina was no longer Chained. Though he and Emmet were vulnerable, Ingo could trust Giratina fully. He laid his memories of their attacks in the past.
For Emmet, it was his normal now. He recalled the horrific sensation of Giratina warping his body when they were Chained and didn’t suppress the pain. Though he disliked the spinning and pushing sensations on his body, he couldn’t deny the ends it allowed him and Ingo to reach.
Ingo and Emmet opened their eyes, and they were Sneasel-shaped once more. As a test, Emmet shook his sleeves to feel the fabric shift its weight.
“Thank you again, Giratina,” Ingo said with a bow. “Now, let us depart and see what this train can do! All aboard!”
Ingo and Emmet jumped into the first car. Giratina shrugged, having expected them to go into one car each. Instead, they followed along, and the helping hands placed their boxes into the second cart. It only took Ingo and Emmet a few seconds to figure out how to start the cart’s motor. After a brief rumble, the minecart train began following the track.
Ingo and Emmet held onto the edges of their car as the train picked up speed. The stilled distorted air formed a wake of wind as the twins drove, though they had no doubts that them and their coats would not fly out. The railroad track through the Distortion World resembled a rollercoaster more than a typical train system, but it was Giratina’s thought into the gesture that counted.
Before they knew it, Ingo and Emmet arrived at a familiar island with a waterfall. In the water was the image of Sneasler, Chandelure, and Eelektross at Icebound Falls.
Ingo and Emmet shared a look and nodded. “All aboard!” With the tools and boxes in hand, they jump into the waterfall.
***
Ingo and Emmet jumped out of the Icebound Falls and faceplanted into the snow. Despite the tumble, the three boxes they carried suffered no damages or dents.
“Are you okay?!” Eelektross asked. He and Chandelure hurried to pick up their trainers.
“I am Emmet. He is Ingo. We are fine,” Emmet said as he stood and shook the snow off his sleeves.
Ingo brushed the snow off the two presents he held. “If I may ask, how long have we been gone in your eyes?”
“Uhhh like an hour? Two hours?” Sneasler asked.
“Hm. What a peculiar time discrepancy. Perhaps that accounted for the times we opened the portals but didn’t enter through?” Ingo said.
“Yes. The time is from our training,” Emmet said.
“Training…?” Eelektross asked.
“Yes! Emmet and I began to with Giratina to better control our shapeshifting abilities!” Ingo clasped his hands as he talked. “Between our time in Hisui and time in Unova, we spent a total of 10 days away from this station!”
Sneasler raised a brow. “Huh, impressive.”
“Ingo, we need to connect the tracks,” Emmet said. He had the Rail Spike of Time ready.
“Of course! My apologies for the delay. Sneasler, Chandelure, please carry these for a moment.” Ingo handed Sneasler the box.
“Here you go.” Emmet gave Eelektross the box he held.
“Okay… Uh, what’s in the boxes?” Sneasler asked. Chandelure watched her shake the box and try to hear what was inside. Something thudded around inside and brushed the cardboard, but the sound was dull. Before she could begin to guess the box’s contents, an iridescent flash of light attracted her attention. Pink, yellow, and blue lights shined and glittered against the snow as the image of the Distortion World disappeared from the ice.
“Connection complete,” Emmet said as he and Ingo returned the tools to their place somewhere inside their coats.
“Cool. But again, what’s with the boxes??” Sneasler asked.
“Open them,” Emmet said.
Eelektross scratched open the box. Inside were several mocha and spice poke puffs. One sniff confirmed his suspicion. Back when Ingo and Emmet were Subway Masters, there was a bakery specializing in poke puffs that Eelektross loved. They only went once a week, but Emmet took Eelektross to get puffs. Eelektross felt a tear run down his face. “…Th… Thank…”
Emmet petted Eelektross. He gave his pokemon a soft smile, accepting the thanks.
Chandelure gently burned the paper of their gift. Inside were several dry poffins, which came from the same bakery as the poke puffs. Chandelure’s flames danced happily as they took some poffins and made them float in their flames. Chandelure made eating motions with their mouth as the flames consumed the treats.
“I am glad you enjoy them, my Chandelure! I know you aren’t that fond of poke puffs like Eelektross is, so I am glad to see these are satisfactory for you!” Ingo said.
“Okay… so what’s in mine? Poffins? Puffs?” Sneasler asked.
“Sneasler, do you remember the day we set off for Cobalt Volcano? I was determined to follow the request, even though I lacked the qualifications to survive in such a mystery dungeon. Despite barely knowing me, you boarded my train and turned a perilous journey into a safe one. Because of you, Emmet and I were able to reunite in record time. You rescued us when we were lost in a Distorted Floor, you taught us how to climb as Sneasels, assisting us in battling the Chained Nobles and Team Wish, and these are only things I can recall immediately!” Ingo smiled. “I cannot emphasize it enough. Emmet and I may have been the ones tasked to rescue Giratina, but we could not have reached the destination without you!”
“So there’s a gift,” Emmet said.
Sneasler tore the wrapping paper apart and opened the box. Inside were two items. She first took out the cap. It had the same type of hat that the twins wore, including the Subway Battle badge on the front. However, the fabric was gray instead of black or white.
“Wh-What is this?” Sneasler asked. A nervous smile was stuck on her face.
“It is a conductor’s cap,” Emmet said. “It is your cap.”
“Are you serious?” Sneasler asked.
“Why wouldn’t we be? You’re not just a member of Team Conductors anymore. You are part of our family,” Ingo said.
Sneasler turned to Chandelure and Eelektross. “Are you guys fine with this? Don’t these clothes, like, mean something special or something? Won’t I, a non-train person, taint the meaning of the cap or something??”
“You have done the poses… You have said the train terminology… I heard you were even the one who invented the ‘ticket punch’ thing… Accept you fate,” Eeleketross said. Next to him, Chandelure’s flames danced in a regular pattern. “They’re chanting “join us, join us”.”
Sneasler turned the cap around in her hands. With a sigh, she accepted her fate. Sneasler slowly raised the cap to her head and put it on. Unlike the twins’ caps, her hat accommodated her ears.
“Bravo! We estimated the correct size!” Ingo said.
“But your uniform is not complete,” Emmet said, pointing to the box and to the ground.
“”Uniform”? …Oh no.” Sneasler looked into the box again. She forgot about the second item for a moment. A piece of folded fabric shared the same shade as the cap. Sneasler already knew what it was. She picked up the fabric and let it unfurl. It was a coat identical to Ingo’s and Emmet’s coats, though it was completely undamaged and gray just like the cap.
“You are similar in height to our human shapes,” Emmet said. “Put it on. It should be perfect.”
“You two are ridiculous…” Sneasler took off her basket. Much to her horror and chagrin, Emmet was right. The sleeves stopped short of meeting her claws, and the coattail did not drag on the ground.
“Excellent! Bravo!” Ingo clapped. “The uniform perfectly fits!”
“As it should. That is the uniform of a Subway Boss,” Emmet said.
“I haven’t even BEEN to a subway, Emmet! I’m not a conductor!” Sneasler really tried to get these two to change their minds about the gift.
“You are now,” Ingo said. “Oh! Some time in the near feature, we should visit Anthe! I’m sure she would gladly customize your cap to increase your already-great strength, Sneasler!”
Sneasler tried to force back her nervous smile, but she couldn’t fight it. If her skin was visible through her fur, her friends would see her blush.
“What do you say, Sneasler…?” Eelektross asked like a parent to their small child.
“Th-Thanks…” Sneasler said through the unsteady smile. “It’s… really great…” Her voice cracked.
“I am glad,” Emmet said. “Next stop: the Pearl Guild. Irida wanted to do something for us when you woke up, Ingo.”
“Oh, did she? Very well. Let’s not delay any longer! May we board your train, Sneasler?” Ingo asked.
Sneasler took a deep breath in. Her normal expression returned. “Sounds good. Just let me punch you tickets first.” She placed the basket in front of her and slapped off the top.
Ingo and Emmet lined up in front of the basket. Ingo was first, so he took off his cap and bowed slightly to present his head to Sneasler. Sneasler held her hand up and almost contacted Ingo’s head, but she stopped and held her hand above his head.
“Is something the matter, Sneasler?” Ingo asked.
“…Guys, why do I remember EMMET BEING IN HISUI?!” Sneasler asked, her fur standing up from panic.
“Me in Hisui? What do you remember?” Emmet said.
“Uh, my ancestor looking at you and being like “Is that a shiny Ingo?”. Ugh!” Sneasler facepalmed. “I cannot believe this…”
“Oh! Giratina mentioned that Dialga hides memories of those involved with time travel. If the memories of the past exist within you and Dialga hidden them from you, then as Emmet and I live our lives in the past, then more memories are connected back to you! …Did that make sense?” Ingo asked.
“Eh, I think I get it,” Sneasler said. “That’s… unnerving.”
“…Does that mean you two remember seeing us transform?” Emmet asked Eelektross and Chandelure.
Eelektross looked confused for a moment, then his eyes widened. “I… have… no idea what you are talking about…” He turned his gaze away in horror.
“You are lying. I can tell,” Emmet said.
“Please…! I just wanted to pretend I didn’t see it…” Eelektross said. He glanced over to Chandelure to see what they were saying. “Don’t give me that “it wasn’t that bad”…! …Wait. EMMET, YOU MEGA PUNCHED VOLO?!”
“What??” Sneasler asked.
“I did,” Emmet said.
Eelektross set down the box of poke puffs and grabbed his head. “Oh dear stars… It is a miracle Team Wish didn’t obliterate us on sight!”
“Ingo, Emmet, what the hell is he talking about?” Sneasler asked.
“As you know, Volo was immortal and walked the earth for several centuries. He visited our origin in Unova to talk with us… and Emmet Mega Punched him. Thankfully, he didn’t seem to notice it was a pokemon attack from a human, but it was rather dangerous,” Ingo said. He fully expected Sneasler to start berating Emmet for the stunt.
Instead, Sneasler snorted. “Wait, really?” She grabbed her stomach as she started laughing. “I can only imagine! I wish I saw his face. …But seriously, Emmet, don’t do anything that stupid again. Please.”
“I won’t…” Emmet said. He noted that Ingo and Sneasler asked of him the same promise and was amused.
“Well, this is all great. Really great.” Sneasler sighed. “Let’s get outta here so I can take a nap. Too many things happened today.”
“Very well, Sneasler! All aboard!” Ingo said.
After Sneasler punched Ingo’s and Emmet’s tickets, she wore the basket and travelled with Chandelure and Eelektross back to the Pearl Guild.
***
That evening, the Pearl Guild and the ten Nobles gathered in the guild’s assembly hall. The lush area was converted from an empty room to one with several round tables for each team. The party was held for primarily the Pearl Guild (the Diamond Guild had theirs the previous night), but Adaman, Staravia, and Team Galaxy were present as guests of honor at a main table. Ingo, Emmet, and Chandelure also sat at the table (Eelektross did his best to sit, but because of his long body, he more so floated next to the table while the rest of his body acted like an inadvertent barrier). Sneasler also sat at the table, still wearing the coat and hat Ingo and Emmet gave her.
The housekeepers gave everyone dinner. Once most everyone finished eating, Irida and Chatot stood on stage.
“May I have everyone’s attention?” Chatot asked with a squawk. “The stage is yours, Guildmaster.” He bowed and let Irida step forward.
“Good evening, everyone!” Irida said. “About one week ago, an event unprecedented in mystery dungeon history occurred. The Coronet Mountain mystery dungeon, one of the largest dungeons in the world, transformed into absolute Distortion. As a result, hundreds of pokemon were trapped inside and unable to even traverse to safety.
“It’s events like this that remind us why rescue teams like us are so needed in the world we live in. When dungeons first formed and warped space around them, it was the duty of the Original Rescuers to help the pokemon in these spaces. And that duty has been passed to us, as we saw in Coronet Mountain. Thanks to all the teams here, we rescued all the pokemon in the Distorted Dungeon and escorted them to safety! Please give yourselves a round of applause!”
The bipedal pokemon applauded. The quadruped pokemon hollered and shouted. Emmet briefly considered using Round as a joke.
“I also want to take a moment to thank a particular team for their work in the great rescue. I call to the stage the co-leaders of Team Conductors, Ingo and Emmet!” Irida said.
Ingo and Emmet stood from their seats. Emmet wrung his hands and Ingo fidgeted with his coat sleeves as they climbed the stage to face Irida and Chatot.
“For your bravery and actions at Spear Pillar, for stopping the Distorted Floor effect and saving the life of an almighty pokemon, we present you with the highest honor the Pearl Guild can give you,” Chatot said. He held a pillow behind his back that he then presented to Ingo and Emmet. On the pillow were two explorer badges with a pink central gem, black casing, and pink wings.
“Team Conductors, congratulations on reaching the master rank!” Irida said.
“The master rank is the highest rank we can bestow on you as a guild,” Chatot said. “If you wish, you two can apply for the guildmaster rank. It will take difficult work and the approval of over half the Nobles and the Pelliper Post Office, but you can become someone like Irida, Adaman, or the newest guildmaster, Cyllene.”
“Thank you!” Ingo and Emmet took the badges. Emmet saluted and Ingo bowed.
“No, thank you.” Irida bowed to Ingo and Emmet, and Chatot followed suit. “Is there anything either of you would like to say while you’re up here?”
“Yes.” Ingo turned to face the rest of the Pearl Guild. When they learned of the Pearl Guild’s celebration, Ingo had a suspicion that they would need to speak on behalf of their team. Ingo may have gotten ample practice and opportunities to speak in a formal setting, but it never got easier, even when he scripted his speeches. “While what Guildmaster Irida and Sir Chatot regarding our feats are true, I do not want to diminish any of your accomplishments! Just like how a train has multiple different cars with different functions, everyone’s actions and duties were vital in rescuing all the pokemon trapped inside Coronet Mountain. Knowing that other teams were escorting pokemon through the Distorted Dungeon put my mind at ease and follow the tracks to our destination!
“I say the same to you, Guildmaster Irida, Guildmaster Adaman, and Guildmaster Cyllene, and Rei and Laventon. Your presence at Spear Pillar made it easier for our team to carry out the mission. I also want to thank the rest of our team as well! My Chandelure and Eelektross have been vital in keeping us safe and helping us carry out our missions. And none of this would have been possible without our older sister Sneasler protecting us and carrying out her duties as a Noble!”
Sneasler’s heart skipped a beat. Her eyes went wide as she began processing what Ingo just said in front of the entire Pearl Guild and her Noble peers.
“Though Emmet and I gladly accept this token of our appreciation, we owe our success to many others. Of course, our destination as a rescue team is still a speck on the horizon! We will continue our duties as rescuers for as long as we are needed.” Ingo turned to Emmet. “Is there anything you would like to add, Emmet?”
Emmet nodded. What I do. What I say. Always the same. Follow the rules. Safe driving! Follow the schedules. Everyone smile! Check safety. Everything's ready! Aim for victory!”
“All aboard!" Ingo and Emmet stood back-to-back, pointing to the audience and the ground. This earned them a cheer from the guild familiarized to the twins’ antics.
The rest of the festivities began. Palina, Lian, and Calaba drummed up a storm to provide music. Once the tables were moved out of the way, there was dancing, snacking on mochi and poffins, and plenty of socializing.
…Which was why Ingo and Emmet walked out of the assembly hall and into the cold Mt. Coronet air.
“I guess the party was too much…?” Eelektross asked as he and Chandelure rejoined them.
“Yes. It’s like the parties Elesa brings us to sometimes,” Emmet said.
“Did you not enjoy the parties? I recall you speaking of them fondly to our subway team members,” Ingo asked.
“I like them, but parties are tiring,” Emmet said.
“I suppose that is fair. The honor from the others, while pleasant, does not seem necessary. I just wanted to help as best we could,” Ingo said.
“You two are ridiculous,” Sneasler said, sitting next to them. “I cannot believe you actually called me your sister on stage. Electrode keeps making jokes about it! And Arcanine won’t stop bothering me about why I hid you two! Why did you do this??” She took off her coat and used it as a blanket. Chandelure cuddled up next to her, much to Sneasler’s chagrin.
“As Ingo said, you are family,” Emmet said.
“C’mon! You guys haven’t even met my dad!” Sneasler said.
“You said in a previous time that you wanted to reconnect with your father. Perhaps we could all meet together?” Ingo asked.
Sneasler sighed. “Fiiiine, I guess…”
“So… Are you actually going to go for the guildmaster rank…?” Eelektross asked.
“Perhaps. We are Subway Masters. We could be Rescue Masters, too,” Emmet said.
Ingo hummed. “True, but Emmet, you posed an interesting question to Dialga when we received the Spike maul of Space and Rail Spike of Time.”
“Did I?” Emmet asked, genuinely intrigued.
“Yes! You wondered if we could build a train system in this time period!” Ingo said. “And Dialga did not object to the suggestion.”
Sneasler found herself dozing off, but her eyes shot open. “No.”
Emmet’s eyes seemed to sparkle. “Ingo, I want to build a train!”
Sneasler catapulted into upright position, startling Chandelure. “Are you serious?! You have trains in Unova! Why do you want one here??”
“It would not be just for our sake, Sneasler!” Ingo stood and pointed to Sneasler and the ground. “Surely you know how far a single rescue team can hike in a single day to get to one mystery dungeon. If the dungeon is a particularly distant location, the teams would be already exhausted by time of their arrival! But if we create a train system that reaches across the Sinnoh region, any rescue team could use them and get to their destination much more efficiently!”
“Can we have pokemon battles, too?” Emmet asked.
Ingo’s eyes widened, also sparkling almost. His hands briefly shook. “Yes! What an excellent idea! If we can reinforce the trains just like the Battle Subway, we can have rescue teams train and grow stronger with each other!”
“I like your plan, Ingo!” Emmet said.
“You helped concoct this idea, Emmet! Take pride in it!” Ingo said.
“Okay…” Sneasler facepalmed. “Guys. How do you plan on getting enough land and materials to make a train system?”
Ingo and Emmet shared a look and began thinking. Ingo closed his eyes and hummed while Emmet began pacing.
This, of course, got Sneasler to think, and a flash of inspiration from a past Noble of the Cliffs struck her. “The Underground.”
“The Underground?” Ingo and Emmet asked together.
Sneasler covered her mouth to hide what she said, but it was for naught. She sighed. “Yeah, the Grand Underground… Some ruin maniacs dug up the land under Sinnoh and made a whole network of caves. They were pretty spacious and…”
“And?” Ingo and Emmet stared at Sneasler in anticipation.
“…And the underground never turned into a mystery dungeon. If it was going to turn into one, it would’ve by now,” Sneasler said, immediately regretting it.
“What a perfect location for a subway! We can recreate the Battle Subway!” Ingo said.
“Thank you, Sneasler. You are the best sister we could have,” Emmet said.
As Ingo and Emmet began discussing logistics of their plan, Sneasler realized how sealed her fate was.
***
Ingo and Emmet woke up to a world made of rainbow light. Ingo and Emmet looked at each other, identifying and confirming their location to each other without words. An intense presence manifested in front of them. The presence coalesced into a towering and familiar pokemon.
“Greetings, Not Humans or Sneasels. Welcome to my realm. Tell me thine name.” Arceus’ voice reverberated in the twins’ minds.
“Greetings, Arceus. My name is Ingo,” Ingo said. He tipped his hat to the Almighty pokemon.
“I am Emmet.” His body was shaking. “You are Arceus. I want to battle.”
“…Dost thou know why thine are here?” Arceus asked.
Ingo’s frown deepened. “This involves our mission to Rescue the Deep Shadow. Is my assumption correct?”
“Yes. This is indeed about thine mission. Both of thee far surpassed my expectations,” Arceus said. “What would thoust wish as a reward?”
“I. Am. Emmet. I want to battle you.” Emmet pointed directly at Arceus. He did not stop shaking.
Ingo frowned deeper. “Emmet, I understand your feelings, but I doubt that Arceus would-“
“We can do that,” Arceus said.
“Excuse me?” Ingo’s confusion displayed on his face in addition to his voice.
“Is that not what dost desire? Thou hast expressed many a frustration regarding me. Would a battle suffice thine rage? I am glad to oblige. After all, thoust has met and greatly exceeded mine expectations.” Arceus tilted their head. “What does thou think?”
“…May Emmet and I have a moment to discuss this?” Ingo asked.
“That is acceptable. Make thine preparations as needed.” Arceus hopped backwards, gliding in the air.
“Emmet, these circumstances are rather… questionable and sudden,” Ingo said.
“…Ingo, I want to battle Arceus.” Emmet stared at Ingo. His smile grew even wider. “I am only concerned if they cheat again. Is there a route for victory for us?”
Ingo pinched the bill of his cap and hummed. “…There is a route for us. In Hisui, I constructed the Path of Solitude as a training field for the Galaxy Team and Miss Akari. There is a specialized route with a single battle customized for every pokemon in the pokedex that the Galaxy Team built.”
Emmet’s eyes widened as he picked up Ingo’s hint. “Including Arceus?”
“Including Arceus.” Ingo leaned in to whisper his idea to Emmet. He had to control his voice more than normal to stay quiet.
After a moment, Arceus asked, “Are thee prepared?”
“I believe so,” Ingo said. “Is there anything you would like to add, Emmet?”
Emmet nodded. “Follow the rules. Safe driving! Follow the schedules. Everyone smile! Check safety. Everything's ready! Aim for victory! All aboard!"
Arceus gave them a single nod. They contacted the battleground, the air shifting around the three pokemon. Arceus tapped the ground, and the light gave way to a blue circular field decorated with more glowing circles and lines. Around them was a sky that shifted between deep blues dotted by stars and white light separated into the full spectrum.
Arceus stomped the ground, creating a visible shockwave. Emmet focused on jumping over the shockwaves, trying to find a window to attack. Arceus kept stomping, though, making him focus on avoiding the attacks.
“Emmet, watch your surroundings!” Ingo said as he Quick Attacked into Emmet. As he and Ingo flew, Emmet saw a meteor strike the spot he stood on a second ago. Ingo landed on his stomach, so it was Emmet’s turn to rescue Ingo from another meteor charging at them.
After three more dodges, Arceus changed tactics. Their coloring shifted to browns and oranges, and one massive ball of energy formed above their head. The ball shot out a barrage of ground-type Judgement to Ingo and Emmet, requiring Ingo to continue using Quick Attack to grab Emmet and dodge the attacks. Though none of the attacks were direct hits, an explosion of dirt and mud occurred each time the ground was struck, hurting both Sneasels. The barrage of Judgements suddenly stopped. Several more balls of energy orbited around Arceus.
“This is our chance,” Emmet said, pointing to Arceus and the ground. It was time to see if Ingo’s strategy had merit.
Ingo drenched his right hand in poison and jumped to Poison Jab Arceus. Arceus changed color to a metallic palette – steel-type to make themself immune to Ingo’s attack. But before Ingo struck, energy swirled around his left fist. Ingo Drain Punched Arceus, not only healing some of the damage he acquired but striking the mythical pokemon with a super-effective move before they could change typing again.
Arceus stumbled from the attack, and the balls of energy poofed into nothingness. He turned and stared at Ingo with wide eyes.
Emmet’s smile grew even wider with Ingo’s strategy proven effective.
“My Path of Solitude for Arceus involves multiple pokemon. Arceus changes their typing for each attack, but they cannot change their typing rapidly. All my pokemon would have moves that could strike every type’s weakness. We can do the same here by using the same movesets we used to free Giratina!”
Emmet Dug under the stage (though not certain how, given that the stage was made of light). Arceus sensed where he would pop up from, so they changed to a flying-type and floated away from Emmet’s range of attack. Arceus noticed Emmet preparing an Ice Beam. They tried to shift into a fire-type, but Ingo struck them in the back with Iron Tail, distracting Arceus for enough time for Emmet’s Ice Beam to hit their stomach as a flying-type.
Arceus fell to the battleground. Not only did their coloring change to reds and oranges to match the fire-typing, but their entire body glowed with red light. Arceus Teleported away. Ingo and Emmet searched the battleground to locate the Almighty pokemon. They realized Arceus was gone when the floor glowed with a red aura.
“Is Arceus planning an attack that covers the entire field?!” Ingo asked. The floor’s glow intensified with each passing second.
Emmet desperately ran around to find any opportunity for cover, but the land of light was completely flat and featureless. The floor started burning Emmet’s feet. The only option was going up. “All aboard!” He tackled Ingo and threw him into the air.
“Emmet?!” Ingo yelled. He watched Emmet use Aerial Ace to jump into the air.
Emmet timed the throw as best he could, but it wasn’t enough. Ingo and Emmet felt hot gases blow through their coats and onto their fur. They flew to opposite ends of the battlefield and planted into invisible walls. They fell and hit the ground once more.
“Emmet!” Ingo immediately stood up and ran to his brother. “Are you able to continue battling?”
“Yes…” Emmet slowly stood up, though he accepted Ingo’s offer of a helping hand. He had been wanting this battle as soon as he remembered Arceus’ actions and the first unfair battle. Emmet refused to let an Overheat-like explosion knock him unconscious.
A sharp cracking sound resonated around the field. Ingo and Emmet looked up and saw dark cracks in the sky above them. Ingo Quick Attacked while grabbing Emmet once more, avoiding Arceus crashing back onto the field and stomping them with Earth Power. Arceus looked up and stared at Ingo and Emmet as the floor glowed red once more.
“Another attack? We can’t withstand another explosion!” Ingo said.
“…Full speed ahead!” Emmet ran straight to Arceus. Why did Arceus hide themselves for the first explosion, Emmet asked himself. Because an attack of that power needed concentration. Ingo followed his determined brother without question. Emmet used Aerial Ace like how Ingo used Quick Attack and reach Arceus in a shorter time.
Arceus saw the flying-type attack and changed to rock typing. Ingo used the momentum from a Quick Attack to jump at Arceus with Drain Punch. Seeing that, Arceus changed to a ghost-type form. Ingo flew through Arceus like the Almighty pokemon was a mirage. Arceus turned to see where Ingo would land, but Emmet struck from behind with a Snarl, knocking Arceus off-balance. Arceus changed into a fairy-typing to combat Emmet’s next Snarl, but Ingo Poison Jabbed them in the back of their neck. When Arceus turned around and changed into a ground-type in response to Ingo, Emmet Ice Beamed their legs, forming large ice crystals that dug into their skin.
Arceus found themselves in a larger bind than expected. As a last attempt to knock out one of the twins, Arceus changed their form to psychic typing and charged Judgement. Ingo flew to them with Drain Punch, his eyes widening when he registered the type change. Judgement reached maximum strength. Arceus fired.
Emmet jumped in, taking the Judgement to his chest. Strange pink light burst at his chest but caused no damage. With the attack mitigated, Emmet summoned every thought, every desire, every inch of his rage against Arceus into one point-blank Snarl.
Arceus’ legs shook. They raised a front leg to step forward, but the rest of their legs collapsed. Arceus’ head hanged low on the ground.
“We won! We won!” Emmet flapped his hands and sleeves about.
“We won… We truly won!” Ingo took several deep breaths. A smile crept up on his face. “Excellent! Bravo!”
Emmet walked up to Arceus. “You were verrrry strong. We should battle again sometime.”
“I agree,” Arceus said.
All of Arceus’ physical weakness disappeared, as did the blue battlefield they summoned. The three returned to the realm ruled by light. Arceus’ body returned to their normal coloring, and they stood up like nothing happened.
“Thou hast done well to rescue the Deep Shadow. Thine determination and devotion led thee to thine to the end… Much as the ancient hero, the one will my full blessing, once did. Thou was given a difficult task made more difficult by only receiving half my blessing each.”
“That explains some strange events…” Ingo said to himself.
“Despite the additional challenge, thy has succeeded in thine mission. Thou may no longer be human, but thou art a great example for Humanity.” Arceus paused, their gaze drifting to the side. “The vanishing of Humanity. It was a low point for recent history. Humans quarreled and used Pokemon as tools instead of friends. I believe thou, along with thine Pokemon friends, are proof that Pokemon and Humanity can coexist. I thought myself foolish to think so in the past, but now I am the fool for thinking a fact no longer true.”
“I can bestow upon thee both my full blessing, a blessing thou can take to the creation thou dwellest and roam,” Arceus said.
Ingo closed his eyes and hummed. Sneasler’s words echoed in his mind.
“Who the fuck cares about Arceus?! You’re Ingo and Emmet! I’ve seen what you little shits can do. …So what are you two gonna do? Sit in this station and drown in sorrow or are you gonna do what you always do and kick ass?!”
“…Arceus, thank you kindly for the offer. However, a full blessing is unnecessary now,” Ingo said with a bow. “I think, right now, our only desire is to board all the routes we made for ourselves and live our lives – all three of the lives Emmet and I have now.”
“I agree,” Emmet said.
“Is that… satisfactory?” Ingo asked.
Arceus stared at Ingo and Emmet. “If that is thine wish, that is one I can grant. Enjoy thine lives, Ingo and Emmet. I thank thee for everything.”
After a flash of light, Arceus disappeared, and the realm Ingo and Emmet stood on disappeared into absolute darkness.
The next morning, Ingo and Emmet woke up in their beds in the Pearl Guild. They were exhausted but satisfied.

In the corner of some visions, or hidden in the shadows of light, there are windows into another realm. The mirages depict shadows and floating islands and impossible waterfalls and alien plants. The images are seldom found and more seldom glanced at for more than a second. Only a select few know they were windows of the Distortion World.
Sometimes within these mirages are a set of train tracks. No one knows where they lead to or why they exist, but people who barely glance at them mention a longing for a long trip with no specific destination or visiting old friends they haven’t talked to in years. The “Lost Tracks of Time” or simply “The Lost Tracks” are a strange, seldom observed phenomena. However, those who observe it agree that they exist as a symbol of ever-expanding journeys and that there is always another destination to reach.

I really need to actually write the paper on the Bond Phenomenon that I've been putting off for way too long, so I'm fishing for research.
Have you ever witnessed or been a part of the Bond Phenomenon? Please, tell me your experience!
I can't just use myself as an example on a paper.
For those who don't know of the Bond Phenomenon, it is described as such: the phenomenon when a Pokémon bonds to a partner (not particularly a Pokémon trainer or even a human), which dramatically increases one's lifespan (using the side with the longer lifespan) and power.
An expression of this phenomenon comes in the form of Mega Evolution, with the help of a Mega Stone and Key Stone, though the items may not be required if the bond between partners is strong enough.
I'll start with a couple stories of my own!
My mother has two partners, a Cinccino and a Serperior. Both of these Pokémon have average lifespans of around 20-25 years, but yet both of these Pokémon are over double my own age, about forty years old each.
My twin brother has three separate Pokémon that are known to be able to Mega Evolve. When I battled him last, I noticed the air around him and his Pokémon shift and bend, and his Pokémon just barely gained the traits of their Mega form: the ends of his Sceptile's leaves and tail were just so slightly red tipped, his Gengar developed a slit on his forehead where a Mega Gengar's third eye would be, and his Garchomp's fins were slightly red on the tips.
Of course, as a professional battler with a great relationship with my own Pokémon partners, I've also experienced it. I believe the best example of this is the strength of my first six Pokémon, especially when they were unevolved. My Gyarados Mimi fought and evolved during the Unova championships, along with my Dragonite Dini. Mari and Ochi weren't even fully evolved at that point yet either. Shoji still hasn't evolved from a Pikachu, and yet they all fought and defeated Pokémon of their final evolution chain and huge power!
Of course, lastly, there's Nelson, my partner Spheal for life. She's my most powerful Pokémon partner, despite still being in her unevolved phase. She's learned moves that are completely unnatural for her species with ease, and she's laid waste to several Champion-level teams by herself.
Those are my stories, so please, share your own!

How long the Eldritch twin brothers been with Darling in that world? A year? Less than a year? I know they both find their matching soulmate all in all, but I like how they are progressing bit by bit to learn so much about their Darling and the culture of humanity and the Pokemon verse.
I imagine it takes them about two years to go from first being summoned to finally dating darling. Primary reason is very sad angst; which fuels their desire to learn about humans and pokemon more so as to approach their darling successfully, and also traumatized them against just trying to approach their darling. Like ever. Normally.
However, angsty bit aside (I put it under the cut underneath, in case you'd like to read it- be warned tho it is angsty)
They do like learning about the world their darling lives in- The longer they stay in their human forms, among humans, the more they come to like various aspects of human life.
They start training pokemon, as battles are used between trainers to understand one another-
They learn to enjoy food and all the different tastes it can have- That "physical matter" humans have to consume for sustenance- isn't half bad actually.
Human music is delightful- Their kind have music, though it's very different from human music- They honestly like it.
They like human art and a lot of human crafts- It's pretty and beautiful and artisans have evidently put a lot of work and love into their crafts. Emmet and Ingo's kind typically measure the value of something by the effort and love and passion poured into it, so although they could make these things in an instant- the fact humans spend hours drawing or years creating grand structures is fascinating to them and they appreciate a lot of the engineering marvels around Unova. ...Although Emmet does like to criticize them a lot and says he could make better in an instant. He's just too lazy.
Their kind don't have very many bonds- Humans have lots of bonds. So they are actually genuinely happy when Elesa says she wants to be their friend.
They travel Unova with their pokemon, like trainers- They can always warp back to their darling, watching over them, or split their consciousness so they're always watching over them while one half is off doing something else- Or they can time travel to before darling summoned them and go on their adventure. It helps them learn how to act human, though they lose all semblance of their practice where darling is involved. The brainrot is real.
Angst below, be warned: (Demon summoning gone wrong, mentions of reader getting injured badly)
I mentioned it in the first headcanon/drabble post, but basically the twins were incredibly psyched to finally meet their darling soulmate- They'd never interacted with humans before, and they had spent so long dreaming about their meeting with their soulmate they'd become incredibly enamored with them and their ideas about them- They so very badly want to meet them! To speak with them, to introduce themselves, to gaze upon them and adore them- Oh, how thrilled you’ll be to meet your soulmates! Of course, they’ll have to explain everything to you- But it will all work out! You’ll love them!
They do have some vague understandings that humans, being physical beings, can't do everything eldritch beings can, but- humans also have immortal souls, and a lot can be changed about them to make them able to withstand the void. You’ll be fine with them by your side, protecting you and cherishing you forever!
But the problem occurs when their darling summons them. Perhaps it was on a dare with friends, perhaps darling was interested in the occult, but somehow, the rumors of their summoning ritual reach darling- And darling tries it- And of course, it works.
And darling nearly dies.
The intensity of the light Emmet gives off burns away everything, and Darling feels like they're on fire- The void of Ingo's existence is eating away at them- darling's in agony, probably screaming, and Emmet's horrified, Ingo's horrified, both of them are beyond horrified- Desperately trying to remedy what they caused- And they manage to save darling, heal them of their injuries, but they take their darling's memories away- Not wanting their soulmate to suffer from such trauma-
And run away. Both of them are so scared- and upset about this. They never ever ever wanted to hurt you- And their existences did so? Their mere presence nearly tore you apart.
This is why human soulmates are a defect for their kind.
They want to be close to their darling- To embrace them-
But they cannot. But perhaps the soulbind will make it so darling can tolerate their presence...?
And perhaps, if they learn to be human, or at least more human- Or at the very least, if they can make a mimicry of humanity for themselves-
They can have their darling.
No, They will have their darling. They'll get your love. Eventually. They'll figure out how to be close to you, even if it takes them a hundred thousand years.
They've waited longer than that to meet you, after all.

Not the same anon, but hows about a twist on the one ask about Ingo going Black Fox at shitty human parents and winding up with a bunch of zorua kids to relocate?
Hyman parents that are like Akari's mom and accept and love their zorua children, coming up to Ingo kind of teary eyed because now they know there's a community for their kids. Maybe some are fearful that people will go after their children the same way people went after Pearl Clan's members, so they ask Ingo if there's a way to put their kids on the zoroark community's radar for support and protection. Or maybe some parents ask him for advice in how to be the best parents they can be for their zorua babies, what foods to avoid, what behaviors mean what so they can better meet their child's needs, etc.
Or even just to maybe get his autograph for their sweet little foxy child because he's their kid's hero. Thank you so much, sir, my son no longer feels so alone and says he wants to evolve to be as strong and cool as you some day. Imagine this mid-30's housewife just BUSTING her way through the path of solitude just so she can walk up to Ingo at the end and present him with a crayon drawing of her tiny zorua daughter did of him, with, "Mr. Ingo is my hero" scrawled on it in grey and black.
"She wants to know if you'll come to her birthday party next month."
anon this is so sweet, I could cry...
Just these earnest parents, some of whom might not have even realized they were raising Zorua children before all hell broke loose in Unova and the truth came out, but they embrace their children anyways. They probably have open conversations with their kids and tell them that they love them no matter what- even if they're Zorua. But also the news coming out of Unova fills them with so much fear!! What if someone targets their child? It's so scary thinking that they might be ripped away from them, and they might just be left with an empty shell.
But then things conclude as best as anyone could hope they could, and they know they owe it all to the efforts of Ingo and the Pearl Clan. And it's not just Ingo!! They all get letters from little Zorua kids and their supportive mothers!! Irida gets letters from a little girl in Kanto who loves Eevees and wants advice on befriending them since they can be spooked by them at first. Gaeric gets letters from an aspiring athlete in Hoenn, asking for advice about what to do when people say he's got an unfair advantage in sports bc he's actually a Pokemon. Akari gets letters from kids in Sinnoh, some of whom who probably fought her twin sister during Dawn's League run.
And Ingo gets so many drawings from little kids of both the Black Fox and Subway Boss Ingo. Their fridge is covered in them. I think it really helps him embrace his persona as something positive, and helps him better combine it with the person he used to be before everything went down. And of course he'll go to their birthday parties!!

Work in progress
so I figure I'd post a little work in progress here since this chapter has had a rough start.
also, I wanted to post a little fluffy moment with Lampent, cause it's been a hot minute. might do more of these, depending on how I feel.
warning this has not been proofread yet so there are probably a few mistakes.
-
Lampent hovered close to her trainer as he slept, her eyes closed as she ignored the world around her and focused solely on her partner.
His breathing
His Heart beat
And his soul
That was all she needed, to know he was going to be okay.
Lampent was honestly surprised that she had not been kicked out. Had this been Unova, they would have recalled her back into her Pokeball and given it to Drayden, and she would not have seen her trainer until after he was better.
In fact, she had been shocked when Calaba had ejected a group of humans what had tried to remove her, claiming she was ‘one of Almighty Sinnoh’s creations and deserved to be with her partner as much as Calaba’s Bibarel deserved to be with her.’ a kind sentiment that Lampent appreciated, even if the old woman still kept a close untrusting eye on her.
She had escaped her Pokeball the moment she’d been able to, distressed to find that her trainer and his family had been harmed and she had been unable to help. And Since, had refused to leave him, only moving aside so that the old human Calaba could tend to him.
Ingo had been hit in the head rather head during the Avalanche, and had been left with a minor fractures in his skull and knee and a concussion good measure.
Lampent had to admit she had panicked a bit when she first escaped her Pokeball and saw
Trainer looking like he had just lost a fight with a Mow rotom.
But now that the blood had been cleaned off and bandages had been applied, he was looking much more lively. Even if he was sleeping a lot.
She drifted closer to him, resting an arm on his head as gently as she could. He would be fine, she would make sure of it, even if she forced herself to learn Pain split to do it.
Behind her she could hear Eelektrik’s Pokeball rattling on the floor next to his trainer. The eel pokemon clearly trying to break free.
Poor Eelektrik, he never did get the hang of opening his Pokeball from the inside. As much as she disliked Zoroark for being a jerk to his trainer, the two often teased Eelektrik on his inability to exit his Pokeball on his own. Chalking it up to his lack of arms.
Normally she would have let him out by now, but she figure she’d let him struggle for a little bit longer. Besides she wanted to see the look on his face when she told him Emmet het been curled up with another Pokemon. Even if it was just a Bergmite given to him to help with thepain and swelling in his shoulder.
Though she was honestly surprised that she’d been allow to stay and yet Eelektrik had not been let out. Then again, it might have been because she was already out, and they didn’t want to risk releasing some of the bigger Pokemon the twins had caught during their time.
She had heard the Palina human warning the others about Gyarados, and Lampent had to agree with that. If she had panicked over Ingo when she had first seen him, she did not want to see how the quick tempered motherly water-type would have reacted.
Or maybe the humans of the Pearl clan were a lot like Eelektrik and just didn’t know how to the Pokeball.
The world may never know.
Once more Lampent shut her eyes once more, feeling that urge to sifin off some of the life energy from the occupants within the room, and pushed it back down. The urge successfully squashed, she flew over to Ingo’s satchel and opened it, removing one of the treats she knew Ingo in there and consuming it, before returning to her trainer’s side.
Ever since the battle with the Abomasnow, and her cowardly attempt to runaway, Lampent had been trainig in secert when her Trainer was sleeping or otherwise distracted. All under the direction and watchful eye of both Lady Sneasler and Gliscor.
The two older pokemon instructing her on the best way to push herself. How to use less energy with her attacks and how to best suppress the natural urges that would hurt her partner.
And it was working.
Day by day her attacks were hitting harder without the need to repleshise herself constantly, and Ingo was no longer dragging his feet after an hour of spending time with her.
Sure after her little training sessions, she was normally tired but it was nothing that one of the Warden’s muffins couldn’t take care of.
It was worth it just to be able to coexist with her trainer for more then a hour.
Sure, the longer she spent with him the more of a test it was to keep herself in. but for him she was willing to step up to the challenge.
If the story Ingo’s dad had told her was correct, then the man had once had a Chandelure for a partner and they had been able to make it work. If Warden Ingo was able to become so close with his partner he was able to remember them even with his amnesia, then she could do the same for her trainer.
His breathing
His heart beat
And His Soul
That was all she needed to know that he was going to be okay.
And even if things started to look dark for him, she would be his guiding light.

What if the prehistoric moth bois met their normal human counterparts?
just Emmet bc I think the Ingos would actually be buddies
-----
Emmet would admit that he had seen a number of strange things on the trains and in the stations before.
He would even admit he had seen some imposters and look-alikes of both himself and his older brother.
He, however, had not seen the giant moth hybrid that looked exactly like him before.
Were hybrids uncommon? Not at all. The twin was fully aware they existed. He turned on his radio. “Ingo,” he clearly called into it.
“Yes, Emmet?” came his brother's reply.
“There is a giant moth hybrid wearing my clothes and sitting in the locomotive of the green-line train,” he explained. Ingo sighed over the radio audibly.
“I have told you not to use the radios for pranks, yes? Why do you insist on doing this still -” Emmet turned off his brother's chiding. There was no time for that. Instead, he approached the aloof hybrid, who was focusing on the conductor's hands. Was he fascinated with trains? He did not blame the hybrid, but his actions of pretending to be him were simply not acceptable. The younger twin stood tall and brave as he faced the moth.
He immediately hissed at him and puffed up like a cotton ball. Emmet felt more confused, getting a better look at the hybrid. What even was he? He would not say he knew every single pokemon out there in the world, but he was certain this was one that had never been on an approved registry for entering Unova. “Who are you and what are you?” he asked the moth with a tilt of his head. The moth growled. Was this how this was going to go? He truly would hate to have to call the authorities on this odd fellow, but there was a chance he was too aggressive to be handled by him. Maybe his brother's Chandelure could hypnotise him?
“Emmet?” a voice suddenly called out. Both he and the moth froze and turned to peer out the door. A person was clearly in distress and looking for something. Emmet felt slightly annoyed. Of all times to need his help! Before he could politely turn you away, the moth hybrid pushed past him and walked out toward them. They looked relieved at the sight of the giant creature, who immediately took to rubbing his cheek against their head and purring quite loudly. Emmet felt dumbfounded. Was the moth also actually named Emmet?
He stepped out, too, and the person stiffened instantly at the sight of him. Their eyes went to the moth, whose contentment vanished. More growling came from him as he placed the person firmly behind him. The coat was quickly shoved off to reveal wings that were oddly reminiscent of a Volcarona. Was he an odd Volcarona hybrid? That made more sense when excluding the absolutely massive size of the hybrid.
“I am Emmet, and I am not angry,” he said simply, “I just want to know why he is pretending to be me.” The person gave a sigh and awkwardly stepped out from behind the moth hybrid, who began to chirp and whine. His communication was awful. Emmet's new concern was about the ferality of the hybrid.
“... He likes train rides,” they tell him with a nervous expression, “He's – um - He's not a normal hybrid. I apologise. I did not realise he looked so much like you did.” Emmet tilted his head. It was not forbidden for hybrids to use the trains (at least under their leadership). Him not being a normal hybrid was extremely apparent.
“I am Emmet,” the moth suddenly chimed in, “Not him.” Emmet felt more lost. The moth was truly named Emmet, too. There were two Emmets. This was worse than the ditto incident.
“No… I am Emmet, but I guess you are, too,” he nodded and wished his brother was here even more. Ingo was much better at handling these confusing situations that needed a lot of discussion. He was better at apprehending stile jumpers.
“Yeah… I think the professor named him and his brother after you both, I'm sorry,” the person apologised again, “I'll prevent him from causing further incident.”
“... I am sorry, too, but I need to investigate this!” Emmet admitted. This was too weird. He could not just let this go. What did they mean, professor? That seemed so odd! He shook his head. Suddenly, the radio went off.
“Emmet. I now properly understand what you meant by giant moth hybrid pretending to be you,” Ingo's voice called out, “I… I have found one of my own.”
“Please, I want my mate!!” a voice just like Ingo's called out desperately.
The person turned to the moth Emmet with wide eyes.
Ah, Emmet thought, more mystery.

Whumptober Day 4: Hidden Injury
Not 100% happy with this-- to the extent that I actually tried tackling it from a different angle via outline-- but there are enough bits that I like that it’s worth sharing. It was initially meant to be the lead in to something longer, but we know how good I am about finishing big projects :/
---
The gloves had been the first casualty of Hisui, unable to stand up to the environmental hazards; between wear from climbing, foraging-induced tears and wayward claws-- friendly and adversarial alike-- it hadn’t been long before they were shredded beyond use. Like the thin fabric, the skin beneath had suffered the same rough treatment. Unlike the gloves, it had knit back together after each haphazard spray of poison or clumsy swipe of a carving knife.
All that was to say that Ingo’s hands had sustained a great deal of damage over the years, and it showed. They weren’t the only run-down parts he possessed, nor were they the worst affected, but they were, without a doubt, the easiest to spot.
He was incredibly grateful that, since his return to Unova, nobody seemed to have noticed-- even when he’d lacked anything to shield them beneath. He’d gotten away with hiding his free hand in a pocket while Emmet did a spectacular-- if unintentional-- job of obscuring the other from view, loathe to lose a point of contact for more than a few minutes. It had worked at the time, but there was no sense in tempting Sinnoh, and when Ingo had seen the opportunity to replace his long-departed gloves, he took it.
It might have seemed silly, to be so caught up in hiding scars that had since healed over, but Ingo had quickly realized that he couldn’t let them be seen.
He was certain that Emmet hadn’t meant to disclose so much, but his twin had been so caught up in his relief that he’d confessed to the fears he’d been living with all this time: that Ingo had been stranded somewhere, hurt and alone, beyond their reach.
Some half-buried instinct had risen from the back of his subconscious at the admission; Ingo couldn’t, under any circumstance, let his brother know that those fears had been the truth he’d lived through. Their family had already suffered through his disappearance, would need to cope with a man who was only half of what he should have been. There was no need for them to concern themselves with marks best left in the distant past.
Not everything could be hidden, of course, but that had also worked to his advantage. While he tried to highlight the positive and downplay any unfavorable facts, it was simply unrealistic to act as though none existed; he conceded that yes, he was underweight due to a shortage of supplies, and agreed that the subconscious slant of his back required correction. Acknowledging these points seemed to do the trick-- it gave his family specific points of interest to focus on and blurred the details he didn’t want them to notice.
There were days where keeping up the gambit became incredibly difficult-- where a story he’d been cajoled into telling veered too close to reality, where hidden injuries twinged in ways that were difficult to ignore, or he had to moderate his breathing and duck out of the way to rein in his racing heart-- but he grit his teeth as best he could and weathered it. It was nothing he hadn’t dealt with in the past; if he could do it then, he could keep it silent now. It was for a good cause.
On those days, the Pokemon were a godsend, all of them, regardless of how well he remembered their relationship: Chandelure’s soft crooning and gentle warmth, his bratty weighted blanket of a Gliscor, the ever-sensitive Eelektross with Baby Doll Eyes, Sneasler, unafraid to boss him around when he insisted on pushing himself, the list could go on for hours. And sometimes it was… nice to be fussed over. To admit that it hurt and accept help. In this regard, Pokemon were more practical than humans tended toward, and while they might worry, it was based in the here and now instead of directed toward things they couldn’t change.
So Ingo truly believed he was doing rather well. He was able to manage his bad days and use the good ones to reconnect with the life he’d mostly forgotten, causing minimal worry along the way. It was everything he’d set out to accomplish… undone by one simple factor:
The friends and family he was trying to shield from the harshness of Hisui began to look into it. For his sake. To better understand where he was coming from.
And there was nothing he could say to dissuade them without giving up the ruse.

Original dragon theory since the next dlc of Scarlett and Violet will be in Blueberry academy
Needed to write this down because it wouldn't leave my brain unfortunatly. So enjoy my madness i guess rdftgyhuijkpolpç.
We all know that Reshiram and Zekrom are the emboriments of truths and ideals and that those two are interchangable and therefore very vague and capable of being bent around despite also having a more grounded connection to living creatures compared to space and time
But i feel like that is more of the Twin heroes thing rather than the original dragon itself.
The idea of this theory is that Kyurem in it's full power was actually a deity of reality, because since truth and ideals are the perception and view of a person and the way they react and act on the world, than the lengendary pokemon was able to in a way manipulate and change that. With the twin heroes being humans that had befriended Kyurem when it first arrive in Earth.
With the idea that Unova as a region could probably change it's shape and nature depending on the person, that would lead to the conflict of the twins heroes, with one wanting to use the power of Kyurem to change reality and create the idealistic Unova where everyone could be happy, while the other would want a truthful world where one could live content and satisfied with themselves eventually leading into the Civil War that escalated so far to almost destroy the region itself, only being stopped when the Swords of Justice were able to intervine (if i'm remembering this correctly at least). Which also plays very well with everything since they are a reference and a clear standing for the three mustekeers and the fourth member they get at the end of the story.
Despite this however, the Swords of Justice don't have clear origins, i haven't seen any mentions of them in the myths or history of other pokemon games, which in the light of this theory would make a little more sense. They didn't exist, but people needed justice and hope, and that ideal became the truth through the reality of what the civil war and they came into existence out of the desperation of people and pokemon alike when Kyurem split and the twins started the war.
But that's a theory anyway and its probably a little dumb lol.
