Yknow, on a retrospective, it is interesting how the COTL fandom puts Narilamb as a devoted and hateful relationship.
In other words, I would actually love to know why we love this ship so much.
I’d love to know your point of view!
I finally have time to answer this!! I am SO GLAD that you asked.
I was extremely interested about the dynamic of this ship, you could watch it from all angles and it would still be a lovable duo; whether it be comedic, overly toxic, unrequited love/devotion, requited romance/devotion, it would still be enjoyable for everyone in the fandom. I believe that there's no bad version on how anyone portrays their relationship!
It's kinda difficult for me to see them in a light-hearted angle. Other people in the fandom have shown this kind of dynamic very well and they have all my applause.
How I portray my vision of narilamb, I still haven't fully fleshed out their story, but basically when Narinder was still a god, Lamb's devotion is for him entirely because they truly thought that The One Who Waits was their saviour and shining grace, handing them down a chance to live once more and avenge their kind. Narinder didn't pay this no mind, then plays the lamb around like a tool, speaking of honeyed words to keep the lamb up on their feet.
And by the time when Narinder told the lamb that he was just using them for his freedom and they'd just die once they surrender the crown to him, everything just came crumbling down to them. The dawning realization that there will be no hope for lamb kind, and that filled them with so much intense emotions they ended up killing Narinder along with his disciples.
Time has passed, Lamb became the new god of Death and continued to serve for their cult. Though they still pray as if there's still any other god be because that's kinda how they cope with all the change. Unaware of the forces that were trying to come back up. Narinder has used up every last drop of his divine magic to resurrect himself with the intention of killing the lamb by his hand and take the crown, but that ended up being a fail so...
Now that Narinder was in the lamb's cult, they feel obligated to watch over him. They think it's really pathetic that the former god is ultimately struggling in the mortal life. One time Narinder tried to run away from the cult and got himself in danger during it so Lamb has to swoop in to save his ass.
“It seems like that you are still in need of me." They said, but there's no smugness in the tone, it's pure disgust and malice. “You don't get to pull the strings anymore, my lord, you're under my domain now.”
I'll make this one very quick bc this is becoming long 😭 So anyway, Narinder (begrudgingly) stayed in the cult because he didn't know how to stay alive in a mortal body, and the more Lamb took care of him, the more dependent he became of them(albeit extremely pissed about that realization and acted aggressively at first then came acceptance that he's hopeless without them), the lamb was aware of this, however thought that this was just another tactic of him to get their guard down, so they pulled the strings so they wouldn't get attached again.
Soon the lamb decided to let themselves get close to him while still being wary, then suddenly became "lovers". Narinder had thought that it was the right course considering how much time they spent with eachother, though hadn't acted on romantic actions. However Lamb thinks that this is just another one of their lovers they have to deal with, so it was still very unrequited.
Then by time it became a requited relationship, unknowingly truly falling for eachother in the process. They somehow know that they're terrible for eachother, but they still work on it. Their devotion for eachother became a devotee to genuine lovers.

23. Are there any side quest storylines that you're particularly fond of or think of as being canon to your WoL's experiences?
and 17 for the other! Their ambitions!
well for 23 i went off on another ask about the Eden storyline, so uh, there's that xD Aside from that, I think Ellie is fully, 100% invested in Hildibrand shenanigans. She was utterly confused and exhausted the first time, but very quickly realized she just needed to roll with it or she wouldn't otherwise survive. She enjoys the aftermath when she gets to recount the zaniness to her friends in the Scions and none of them believe her for a moment.
A little more seriously; going with F'lhaminn to recover and bury Minfilia's cats-eye after Shadowbringers, to say her final goodbyes. Having been in love with her, it's brutally painful and sad for Ellie, but it helps her close the book on a very important person to her.
Speaking of closure: Our Closure, the level 80 DRK quest. Also vastly important, in terms of reconciling her darkness and accepting Esteem wholly for who she is...as Ellie Wiltarwyn in and of herself.
As for ambitions... Ellie used to want to attend the Studium to learn what goes into making an ideal society- a utopia. After she's denied that opportunity, she doesn't really know how to work towards that anymore and aimlessly drifts for a while. When she's saved by Raya-O, the Padjali girl tells her just to pay her kindness forward...so that's what Ellie does, forever looking for the ways in every situation in which she can pay forward to someone the kindness she was shown at the nadir of her life. It's not nearly as grand a vision as it used to be, but she hopes that philosophy can be enough to change the world one little step at a time. And it ends up changing the whole world a lot, so, you know. :V
For Ellie, that eventually manifests into a desire to seek more adventure, more ways to pay it forward. For Mia, though... she's just tired. She just wants to rest, in a safe place she can call her own, next to the people she loves. As a co-Warrior of Light, she ends up becoming one of the strongest people in the world, and would gladly give that all up to be able to just live peacefully at whatever home she can find.
Lily feels like the world isn't worth saving if there isn't someone or something she can love in it. Fortunately, even when she doesn't actively have someone to love, she is always convinced that someone exists, and she just hasn't found them yet...and she also believes that that holds true for everyone in some way, that everyone is living for love of something. She would never admit it out loud because she thinks it sounds childish, but that's her big ambition: find love. has she tried looking right next to her? whooo knooowwws

akechi for the character thing. unless...? 😳
Kissing you my love!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Unfortunately, Akechi lied to me and killed my crops and said mean things about my husband 😔
I'll be completely honest, I don't have strong feelings on him either way, BUT I care on account of him being my blorbo-in-law. Peace and love on planet Earth ❤️
As for his writing, I didn't like the way he was written in vanilla P5 :/ I do think getting a new confidant and the thirdsem and somehow getting even gayer was good for him :)
It's actually really weird looking back, because he's a cool character with a really appealing design and voice and situation, and I think if the circumstances around me playing P5 and joining the fandom had been different, I could've easily been a Goroboy too. Alas, it wasn't meant to be :')

Hello! I would like to request a TFP Ratchet's or Knockout's reaction on their female human reader that wanted to try and drink energon and now she has her insides glowing like very strong blue color and feels very guilty about it. Like her heart glows blue her intestines, lungs etc.😭❤️
Just a dumb lil idea. If you don't like it you don't have to write anything. Feel free <3
TFP Ratchet + TFP Knockout's reaction to their human s/o wanting to try energon
hi!!! thanks for requesting! ❤️ this was fun to write heheh, word of advice to you friend, don't drink energon!!! it does not taste as good as it looks!!! hope this is satisfactory!
Warnings: Emetophobia, small mention of needles
Word count: 1772
TFP Ratchet
Tumblr media
You were perched on Ratchet’s shoulder, watching your significant other as he works on the main computer. He seems so concentrated that you were sure he forgot you were there with him, but you were reassured when every now and then he would glance his optics to you, making sure you weren’t going to slide off him. Ratchet sighs as he picks up the jar of energon sitting off to the side, holding it up to his dermas and takes a swig. For some reason you were intrigued by the glowing blue liquid, wondering what it might taste like, or if it tasted like anything.
“Ratchet, what does energon taste like?” You ask him, watching as he wipes the remaining drops of energon on his dermas off with his arm. He perks up, a questioning look on his faceplates.
“It is most certainly something that you humans cannot digest.” Ratchet says as he places the jar back to where it was on the console, he looks back to you, “But if you insist, it tastes rather sweet. Like what you would call ‘honey’, but not as thick. It was engineered that way to make it more palatable.”
You nod, looking back to the jar. You jump out of your skin when you hear the commlink on the computer going off, but Ratchet reaches a servo to your thighs, stabilising you.
“Ratchet, we require immediate medical attention. Bring your med kit.”
“I’m on my way.” Ratchet answers. He gently picks you up from his shoulder, giving you a quick kiss to your lips as he always does when he is called to duty, “Stay here, I’ll be back soon enough.”
“Alright…” You sigh as he places you down on the catwalk, watching as he opens a ground bridge to Optimus’s coordinates. You’re now left on your own in the base. You look back to the seemingly innocent jar of energon still sitting on the console.
“One little taste can’t hurt, right?”
-
You were totally wrong, so very wrong. In fact, you were sure that Ratchet would kill you when he sees that your whole entire body is glowing a bright blue colour. You had no idea what the effects of energon were on human body, but now you know, and you regret tipping over the jar and scooping the liquid into your mouth. Also, Ratchet is a total liar, it did not taste like honey.
You panic as you hear the sound of pedes coming through the still open ground bridge. You watch as Ratchet and the rest of team prime enter the base. Ratchets optics are blown wide as he sees your body now glowing, he runs over to you and gently scoops you up in his servo.
“(Y/n)!” Ratchets scans his optics over you, “What’s happened to you?”
You say nothing, shoulders hunched over with arms wrapped around your stomach. Ratchet is extremely concerned, but he shifts his eyes over to the console, energon spilled everywhere. Ratchet gasps as he put two and two together and narrows his optics on you.
“What part of ‘humans cannot digest’ did you not understand, (Y/n)?!” Ratchet is the one panicking now. He rushes you over to the med-bay, sitting you on one of the gurneys he managed to get for human casualties. He pulls out his scanner and runs a diagnostic over your entire body, you groan as he does so, feeling extremely nauseous now. He orders you to stick out your tongue, gasping as he sees it also glowing a bright blue.
“By the all spark,” Ratchet breathes. The others had congregated around the med-bay, also concerned with your current predicament, “Your whole entire body is glowing blue with energon, even your own heart.”
You sit up suddenly, leaning over the gurney and throwing up the glowing contents of your stomach on the concrete floor. The other members of team prime cringed as you did so, but Ratchet kneeled next to you, rubbing your back softly.
“Ratchet…” You groan, spitting out the remaining drops of energon still sitting in your mouth, “I’m sorry… I was just curious… I didn’t think it would be that bad.”
“(Y/n), I told you.” Ratchet rubs his optics with his free servo, “Energon is toxic when exposed to humans in large quantities, you’re lucky to be alive right now. Fortunately, it seems that you have just… expelled most if not all the energon remaining in your stomach.”
You look up at him with glowing iris’s, “Does that mean I’ll be ok?”
Ratchet hums as he nods his helm, still heavily concerned for his human conjunx, “Hopefully, but you are not leaving this med bay nor leaving my sight until the rest of the energon wears off.”
You give him a half laugh, body still shaking from being nauseous, “Hah, not the best date night I’ve had in mind.”
Ratchet rolls his optics, scoffing, but then gives you a playful smile and leans down to kiss your head, “There will be no more ‘date nights’ for you if you ever try to drink energon again.”
TFP Knockout
Tumblr media
Life can get pretty exciting being the so called ‘human pet’ of Knockout, the nickname being given to you by the other Decepticons. You didn’t mind though as Knockout was prepared to turn them into his next experiment if they ever decide to put their servos on you, just another benefit of being his conjunx.
One downside, however, is your exposure to tons and tons of substances on the Decepticon war ship that are toxic to your squishy body. Knockout tries his best to keep them out of your reach so you don’t accidentally come into contact with them, but there’s one that he can’t hide that is in constant use on the Nemesis.
Energon, as they call it. To you it looks like it could be candy, or a blue raspberry cocktail. But Knockout strongly advised you not to touch it for good reasons, it will probably kill you.
But here you are, in Knockout’s medical unit, purposely going against his orders. You managed to drag one of the large energon cubes over onto his large desk, attempting to pry it open. With much difficulty, the lid popped giving you access to a motherload of energon at your fingertips. You were lucky that Knockout was out on battlefield duty, or he would absolutely flip is shit.
Hesitantly, you cup some of the energon into your hands and bring it up to your lips. It feels like little shocks of electricity on your skin and tongue as it glides down your throat. You shiver as you swallow, definitely not a cocktail. The rest of the energon falls from your hands onto the desk as you feel yourself become queasy, your body’s attempt to advise you on what you just did was a terrible idea. You dropped to the floor as you become unconscious.
-
“Tsk, those Autobots.” Knockout clicks his glossa as he returns to the Nemesis, scratches on his red frame leaking with energon, “That was the last time they will get the opportunity to ruin my paint job.”
He rushes through the long corridors of the ship, eager to return to his beloved human and to get some energon into him. He had never thought that he would ever be romantically invested in a human, but after he captured you for interfering with Decepticon affairs, you had grown on him. It was a surprise to him when one day you confessed to him, and even more of a surprise when he accepted you as his human conjunx.
He arrives to his medical unit, optics glancing around for any spare energon cubes. He successfully finds one, but its open. He quirks his optical ridges, “That’s weird, I never left that there.”
Knockout walks up to the cube and picks it up, he shrugs his frame and downs the whole thing. But does a spit-take when he sees you unconscious on the table, skin glowing a bright blue. His red optics wide as drops the empty cube from his servos, shattering on the floor.
“(Y/n)?!” Knockout exclaims, scooping you up in his servos, “Sweetspark?”
He sighs in relief when he hears a groan escape from you, knowing that you’re not dead. You squint your eyes and place a hand on your throbbing head, but you gasp as you noticed your entire arm is glowing blue, “Knockout?”
“You drank energon, didn’t you?” Knockout narrows his optics on your body, scanning you with his optics looking for any signs of internal damage. He notices that your intestines are glowing bright blue, confirming his suspicions, “I told you specifically not to touch it! That stuff is highly poisonous for you little squishy’s!”
You groan, flopping onto your back in his servo, “I’m sorry, OK? I couldn’t help myself.”
“For Primus sake, it’s a wonder how you humans manage to survive at all.” Knockout rolls his optics, he places you back onto the table, “You’re lucky that I love you enough to have already made a cure for this.”
Knockout pulls out a syringe from one of his storage compartments under the desk, it’s filled with a black liquid. Your glowing eyes shoot open as you realise that he might jab you.
“Calm down, babe.” He shakes his helm, softly chuckling at your reaction, “There’s nothing sharp attached to it, it’s a mixture of ingredients designed to absorb and neutralise any toxic substances in your stomach. Learned it from you humans, activated charcoal.”
“You want me to drink that?” You questioned him, weakly lifting your head from the table. Knockout rolls his optics again for what feels like the hundredth time that day.
“You drank the energon,” Knockout scoops you up, pressing the tube of liquid to your lips, “What makes you think you can’t drink this?”
You try not to gag as he forces the liquid down your throat, but you drink all of it, trusting him. You shutter at the taste, somehow it was even worse than the energon, “There, happy? I drank your stupid charcoal.”
Knockout nods his helm in satisfaction, “Good, let this be a reminder to never drink energon again, hm?”
You nod your head in agreement, giving him a weak thumbs up, “Don’t have to worry about that ever again, Doc.”
Knockout huffs, then gives you a gentle kiss on your head, “Although, it is rather amusing that the energon makes your whole body turn blue.”
“I may have to conduct some experimenting on you later.” He continues, giving you a wink.
“Don’t even think about it!”

omggggGGGG HI YOU'RE BACK i love your art!! your designs for the characters are so inspiring and unique!! and your art style is just so well-suited to the silmarillion <3 my question is, do you have any headcanons about edrahil? he's my favorite underrated blorbo!
HIIIII long time no see indeed!!! thank you so much for your kind words 😭 it means a lot to hear that you like my designs and my art style! im always brawling with how much im trying to tone out the anime influences and adopt a more... 'realistic'(?) style that it ends up being a giant game of mental gymnastics on most days haha 😂 im still figuring it out, but your words are a great reassurance so i am very grateful for them!!!! 🙇‍♀️
onto your question-- edrahil!! he's definitely one of the blorbos that doesn't get enough attention 😤 i would be lying if i said that im not guilty of this too, since i think ive only ever read... one? fic with him in it waa.... but as always with the professor's work, great fun comes from the freedom with which one can interpret the minor characters! here's one of the first doodles i did of him when i got your ask:
Tumblr media
the bread and butter of my male characters always ends up being slender bishonen-types, but one of my goals going forth is to try and adapt myself to not falling to same face syndrome in the future, so i thought itd be fun to start by making edrahil swoler than usual on a whim 🙈 based on his one (1) line the book, he strikes me as a steadfast i will follow my liege to my death type of fellow.... and then it snowballed from there.... and that's how my take on edrahil eventually evolved from stoic-man-who-is-also-a-peerless-warrior into a no-thoughts-head-empty-his-majesty-only bodyguard
Tumblr media
i like to think he's much nicer than he lets on and nowhere near as serious as his RBF may suggest! much like the rest of finrod's personal guard (aka his fanclub), their lord's wellbeing and public image come first above anything else. perhaps their strong loyalty should be concerning, but it's finrod i-befriend-Men-and-swear-eternal-oaths-of-friendship felagund we're talking about.... so maybe theyve got their own reasons too lmao
this is getting a bit rambly (IM SORRY) but one extra comic and final thoughts under the cut!
Tumblr media
thank you again for your kind ask AND this fabulous prompt!! im guilty of devoting too much of my obsession onto the feanorians, so i always appreciate side character prompts to get the lil squirrel wheel in my brain spinning 💖 i hope this is a satisfactory answer, and that you have a great rest of your week!!

So do Ingo and Emmet have a like… telepathy in nihilego (as nihilego?? Idk what to call them 😭)? Does Ingo have any idea what’s going on, or did Nihilego-Emmet just show up and yoink him?
Their form is so terrifyingly cute, and I absolutely adore the design. That first drawing has absolutely enamored me to this au, I am sooo fascinated with this 👀 your art and designs are so good too, do you do concept art professionally or something?? Like this is great. Also the tags are very funny, Emmet telling Ingo his turn on the xbox is over 😆
Aaaa thank you so much for the question ^^!!
The inside of the bell is a bit like a closed off room, so they usually just talk in there. The reason Emmet leans forward to talk is because his voice is less clear in this burst form, also because holding onto Ingo makes him feel more secure (as in less worried that he’s going to get hurt). Technically Emmet could set up telepathy but that would be a very dangerous thing that he wouldn’t try with Ingo. Generally though they’ll communicate what they’re going to do by speaking/yelling, especially if Ingo needs Emmet to cover the bell while he strikes or if Emmet needs Ingo to freeze for a special move.
Also Ingo is aware of what’s happening! It’s mostly just weird being part of a new body so he’s getting to see what that’s like. In the actual context of the event, Ingo is actually the one who asks Emmet to fuse for the sake of winning the final battle. If I wasn’t stuck doing schoolwork I’d sketch a glimpse of that scene for you since it connects to their relationship and experience as fighters.
I’m very flattered you think I do this professionally ^^ I’m in highschool, I just do this for fun. It is something I’ve considered though!
I hope I could give you a satisfactory answer, thank you for asking :D

hii! could i get a thatcher Davis x fem!reader (fluff + angst), where she's his new work partner (say he isn't presumed dead and went back to work) who wants to support him and comfort him while he opens up too her, they get closer and end up together within a few months as a couple and the WHOLE station is aware 😭
Awh yeah,,,,Gotta give this man love and support through all the Horrors(tm)
...............
"What? They're assigning her to me?"
"I really don't see why it's a problem, Davis..considering you forwarded her application. She's just as interested in investigating the Alternate threat as you are, so they figured you two could work together on-"
"But I thought I made it pretty clear that I wanted to work on future cases solo. Because the last time I had a partner-"
"Look, I understand losing Weaver was painful..but that was 17 years ago. And the higher-ups are getting worried about you taking on all these cases by yourself, especially with your extended leave and the close calls you've had with those things."
"...so they think I need a goddamn babysitter?"
"There's no need for hostilities, Davis."
"Sorry, captain. I mean no disrespect, but..do you all really trust me after what happened? I mean...I just don't wanna see one more person suffer for my mistakes, especially not some rookie.." Thatcher mumbled the last part under his breath, averting his gaze from his superior.
He heard them sigh, although their tone became more sympathetic as they spoke once more.
"You're all we got now, lieutenant, and I trust you're not gonna repeat the past. Think of this as your shot at redemption. This town's lost all hope in us, but I think [l/n] can help restore some of that morale with your guidance. All I ask is that you don't scare her into quitting before she finishes her first day, alright?"
Although silent, Thatcher nodded his head in understanding, and the police captain seemed satisfied with that answer. So they walked out to call you into the office, telling him to wait a few minutes.
The moment the door was closed, he slumped back into the chair, growing increasingly aggravated as he tapped his foot against the floor.
His hands were practically itching for a cigarette right now...or a drink.
Anything to distract him from the conflicting thoughts running through his mind.
It felt like Ruth had only been taken from him yesterday. He remembers how much he cried and forced himself to grieve alone, burdened with the knowledge that he couldn't tell the department the real story of that night--of how he basically left her to die.
Of course, a memorial service was held for her. But it didn't feel like a satisfactory goodbye.
It was far from that.
So for the higher-ups to suddenly decide he needed a "replacement" felt like a punch to the gut. It's like they didn't trust him anymore.
But he then recalled reviewing your application file on his computer, seeing that you indeed showed a lot of promise:
[F/n] [L/n]--a confident and kindhearted woman around his age who studied criminology in college, passed all of her training with flying colors, taught a self-defense class in her free time, and has a decade's worth of experience in security.
You had a good heart and described yourself as "headstrong" in your personality description.
"Sound familiar?"
Hearing the distorted voice, he snapped his head towards the shadow in the corner of the room, every muscle in his body suddenly tensing.
For a split second he thought he saw the whites of somebody's eyes...
His eyes-
"Lieutenant Davis, meet Officer [L/n]."
Thatcher blinked, coming back to reality as he realized the captain had returned, stepping aside to introduce you to him.
He awkwardly cleared his throat and stood up, shaking your hand in greeting.
You politely reciprocated the welcome, although you were initially surprised by his bleached hair and facial piercings. If you were at any other police station, you would've thought he was violating the dress code.
But then again, with the Alternates running amuck it was probably best for him to look highly distinguishable from the average person (and as far as you're aware, they aren't clever enough to perfectly mimic piercings or tattoos).
Nevertheless, you were quite eager to work with the well-known lieutenant who's been here the longest.
However as soon as the captain left, he dropped his smile and gave you a rather ominous word of advice:
"Never get too attached to anyone."
In another life, he would have been more enthusiastic about training a rookie officer. But while giving you a tour of the station and all its rooms, his nihilism kept taking over his speeches.
It wouldn't let him shake the awful feeling that he basically sealed your fate...that being you could possibly die to an Alternate under his watch.
Specifically the one that's been tormenting him all these years. He still hasn't told the MCPD about it. He just can't.
It'll probably try to come for you next.
So he tried to keep his emotions at a distance so it wouldn't hurt him in the long run.
Yet you didn't let his attitude discourage you from asking questions and being as optimistic as you could, given the circumstances. You figured he's just seen some really shitty stuff in his career, understanding that's why he acted so closed-off.
At least he sounded nice in the emails.
.......
In the weeks following you being hired at the MCPD and working alongside Thatcher, things...have gotten interesting.
But they started off fairly grim.
He was still struggling to get out of bed and drag himself to the police station, trying to hide the fact he barely cared about his job anymore. His superiors sometimes had to call him in with threats of suspension, and he'd arrive looking constantly exhausted.
It's always been this way...with the exception of you asking if he was alright or getting him coffee if he forgot to make some. And while he accepted the drinks, he'd brush off any and all concerns you had over his health.
You shouldn't have to worry over him so much.
During your shifts together, you'd accompany him to places where Alternates were recently sighed (or their victims) and ask witnesses questions, or at the station where you'd review files and video footage regarding the most recent incidents, taking notes of whatever you find that he might've missed--and vice versa.
He'd often look back on files regarding the "Heathcliff Case", staring at the details even though he's reviewed them at least a hundred times over. He never elaborated on why he was so transfixed on them.
Could he really tell you that's where he immediately failed up as a lieutenant?
Absolutely not.
The one thing he kept putting off for weeks was training you on taking 911 calls--specifically those regarding an Alternate home invasion. He'd make excuses to show you other things whilst passing the headset to a different operator or officer, leading you to being confused but going along with him anyways.
It's not that he didn't believe you could handle it...he's just afraid of what you'll think when he tells you about the protocol.
However his superiors eventually caught on with his excuses and assigned you both strictly to the call center for a day.
When the first one came through, he had no choice but to instruct you through the process.
In all honesty, you felt sick to your stomach when you lied to the poor victim who said an Alternate was in her home, reassuring her calmly that help will arrive soon....when it's not coming at all. Even worse was when she begged you to stay on the line until they "arrived", although a short while later she didn't respond when you asked for a description of the intruder.
Then the call disconnected.
You had no idea if she was dead or forced to hang up, but you were irritated by Thatcher's nonchalant attitude about it, especially as he remarked that she was already "gone".
You both got into a brief argument about the cruelty of this "protocol". Of course, you knew it wasn't his fault that it was established this way, but you wished he showed a little more empathy.
Fortunately, the tension was short-lived as you received another call.
Calming yourself, you sat back down in the chair and donned the headset, dreading yet another home intruder report that you won't be able to save this person from. But you took a couple deep breaths before answering it, with the lieutenant listening to you closely.
"This is Mandela County Police, how may I help you?" You put on your most sincere voice.
"H-Hi, um..I know this isn't a real emergency so it's gonna sound stupid. Bu, I-I just..I'm very stressed about school and I need to talk to somebody. D-Do you mind if I rant?"
"...oh! Of course, hun." Immediately you were thrown off-course when you heard a timid teenager's voice on the other end instead of a panicked adult. "I'm not exactly a licensed mental health counselor, but I promise to listen for a bit."
"What?" Thatcher furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "No, no, no. [L/n], tell this kid to get off the emergency line and call th-"
You ignored him and listened to the teen vent about their anxieties regarding the Alternate situation. They didn't understand why everybody else at school acted like this was the "new norm" when it shouldn't be, as their grades began to falter and they struggled to sleep at night.
At one point they began sobbing over the phone, afraid they won't have a future to look forward to, but you reassured them their fears were valid and that they're not alone with these feelings.
Although it felt like a white lie..you told them everything was going to be okay, and shortly after that they settled down.
Meanwhile Thatcher, who was at first livid over you blatantly disregarding his instructions, listened to your voice and realized how...sweet and nurturing you sounded towards this kid--suddenly no longer wanting to intervene and terminate the call himself.
Now that he thought about it...when's the last time an officer here ever answered a call that genuinely helped someone?
The fact he couldn't remember was telling.
"I think I handled that well."
Snapping out of his thoughts, he looked to see your smug grin as you switched off the headset, having finished the call. But when you saw his face, it disappeared and you sighed, knowing he was probably pissed off.
"Look, before you given me a write-up, I know that wasn't a "real" emergency, but I'm sure I saved that kid from spiraling into one."
"No, you have a point. I'm not gonna write you up." He reassured you. "I thought they were gonna say something about their math homework."
"Well, if their biggest concern is homework and not an Alternate..then I guess there's hope for the youth in this county." You chuckled. "So what's next, lieutenant?"
"....dunno. We're almost off the clock. You wanna....grab some coffee afterwards?"
You blinked. "Huh? Like..in the breakroom?"
"Nah I mean uh..at the gas station. I need to buy some food there anyway. Got nothing for dinner at home so.." He shrugged his shoulders; although part of him regretted mumbling that last bit considering the worried look you suddenly gave him. "...uh I mean-"
"Why don't I treat you to dinner instead?" You offered, which made him do a double-take. Though you quickly backtracked, your face flushed as you realized he could've taken that the wrong way. "I don't mean that a-as like...a date or...anything like that. There's a diner downtown you might've already been to but-"
"It's fine. I know the one you're talking about." He spoke up, smiling a little bit. "I actually haven't been there at all. But if you insist I'll...take the offer. Might as well get to know each other better."
While surprised he immediately accepted the invitation, you couldn't help smiling back before another call came through, and you focused on answering it. This time Thatcher didn't intervene and simply let you work while he occupied himself at another computer.
Suddenly both of you were very eager for the last hour of your shift to pass by.
...........
The "date" at the local diner went relatively well, with you and Thatcher chatting about recent cases and personal interests.
He didn't say a whole lot about himself, claiming his life was "boring" and asked more about yours instead. But it turns out you two shared similar tastes in movies and music, recommending stuff to each other and even exchanging personal numbers after dinner.
He mentioned a story of how he started playing heavy metal music in the station back when he was a rookie officer like you, getting his first write-up for it.
It made you laugh, and it was in that moment where he felt...the smallest of butterflies in his stomach.
At the time, however, he thought it was just anxiety. So he tried not to think too much of it as you both parted ways, seeing each other back at the station for your next shifts.
But ever since that night, you've been spending a lot more time together outside of work--to the point where, a month later, Thatcher felt comfortable enough to invite you over to his place.
Obviously he had to clean up so it looked more "presentable" to you...something he hasn't done nor cared about in years until meeting you.
He didn't know how or why, but you've considerably uplifted his spirits, pulling him out of this dark ditch he's been lying in for so long. He enjoyed your company and gave him reasons to come into the station on time.
Even his coworkers noticed and were impressed, with some teasing him about having a "crush" on you.
That reality did hit him, though...he did love you. You've been his motivation and inspiration. The light in his dark world.
Yet despite genuinely looking forward to seeing you, he was still putting up his usual front..as he was, in fact, feeling more stressed than ever before.
When he first met you, he warned you to not get attached to anybody--and here he was being a goddamn hypocrite.
Surprisingly enough, that Alternate hasn't shown its face in a long time. No longer did it invade his home, whispering nonsense and taunting threats in the dead of night; it led him to wonder if it grew bored of toying with him and decided to look elsewhere for a new victim, realizing he wasn't giving into MAD.
Could you have somehow driven it off without knowing?
He stopped believing in angels long ago, but part of him wants to believe you're one in disguise.
Perhaps..she knew he desperately needed one and sent you to help him when he lost all hope.
Yet you still didn't know anything about what happened that awful night, nor the mounting pressure Thatcher has put on himself after all these years. He just wasn't sure how to bring it up and explain everything without you calling him "crazy".
But it was killing him to keep all of this inside, though he felt like he had to..lest you thought of him as a weakly coward.
He's your superior. You should be looking up to him and counting on him for help, not the other way around. He even told himself he wasn't going to burden you with his past mistakes.
At the same time, you were the kindest and most nonjudgmental soul on the planet. He learned this firsthand that day you took that anxious teen's 911 call and assured them there was hope for their future.
That's where he first believed you were someone who could be trusted.
Even if you couldn't fix everything right away...you'd listen, and maybe that's the kind of person Thatcher needed in his life all along.
He knew that eventually you'll wanna ask him about that night, and he thinks he'll be ready to do so very soon.
Besides, he's going to run out of cassette tapes at some point.
.......
On the anniversary of Ruth's passing, both you and Thatcher had the day off.
You figured you'll sleep in and not disturb him, knowing he probably wanted to be alone today. But you did send one message to check up on him, saying you're always here to support him should he ever need it.
You knew him and Ruth used to be good friends back in the day, having accepted their promotions together and speaking publicly on live television. The MCPD still retained the footage, and you watched it on your work computer, smiling as they made their speeches to the community.
If only you were there to congratulate them both...
Your superiors remarked how he never truly did get over her death, acting like it's some huge "inconvenience" that he struggled to move on.
But even you knew that it's not that easy.
How could one simply "move on" after losing a close friend to one of those monsters? It's certainly difficult and painful, though you've wondered about the circumstances of her passing, always hearing everybody except Thatcher himself talk about it.
Was there a reason?
Did they twist the story?
You weren't sure, and you didn't think he'll be willing to give you any answers.
Especially not today.
Yet a short while later, you heard your laptop make a ping noise to indicate a new message and rushed to open it, reading his response:
[Thank you, [y/n]. If you're not too busy, could you come over in an hour? There's some things I wanted to talk about. I trust you enough]
You felt your heart skip a beat, wondering what he possibly could've wanted to discuss. But you were flattered that he trusted you, considering you didn't think he'd ever grow this close to you.
You simply replied "I'll be there" and hit send before getting ready, heading to his place an hour later.
Apparently he was expecting you, as before you could even knock on the door, he opened it up instead. And for a moment you stood there, taking in his appearance.
He looked like absolute hell, as though he just crawled out of bed, wearing a baggy band T-shirt with black pants. The dark circles around his eyes have gotten considerably worse, too, making him almost look skeletal-like.
Not to mention he reeked of smoke and cheap booze, both scents masked with cologne, but you didn't let it stop you from hugging him. "I got here as soon as I could." You said, smiling as he returned the hug. "How are you feeling?"
"...alright, I guess. Thanks. Hope I wasn't bothering you."
"You weren't, trust me." You shook your head, before letting each other go.
After heading inside, you noticed all the window blinds were drawn shut and the TV was droning in the background, showing some 90s flick. If not for the screen's light, then the entire living room for sure would've been pitch black.
You didn't see any reason to remind him of the laws concerning TVs and mirrors, being more worried about whatever he wanted to discuss with you.
Yet even as you both sat down on the couch, he found himself hesitating. He knew this was going to be a difficult conversation, but despite reaching out to you....he suddenly didn't feel ready anymore.
He started to regret ever sending that message in the first place.
You had to be the one to push him.
"So what did you wanna talk about? And don't tell me you were an Alternate this entire time.." You lightly joked, although when you noticed him staring vacantly at the TV, hands trembling as he turned the volume down, you realized your mistake. "..I'm sorry, Thatch. I shouldn't be kidding around on a day like-"
"It's okay."
"N-No, it's..it's fine. I'm not one of those things, I promise." He shook his head, trying to bite back the tears burning in his eyes as he turned to you. His heart was already hammering in his chest, throat feeling dry as he tried to keep his voice steady.
"It's just...fuck...where do I begin? A-And how can I say this without sounding selfish or crazy-?"
Blinking, Thatcher realized you had taken his shaking hand into your own, your thumb gently brushing over the back of it. And once again, he felt those familiar butterflies in his stomach..
He's never really felt this sort of kind touch..ever.
"Just take your time. I'm not going anywhere." You reassured him, feeling him squeeze his hand around yours tightly.
"..you sure you won't..tell anyone?" He asked, wishing he didn't already sound so pathetic. "Even if it were to change how you see me?"
"Whatever it is, it'll stay between us. I promise."
With that final confirmation...he told you everything.
He explained what happened to Ruth on this very night and the endless guilt of "abandoning" her that's haunted him since. He confessed to running away from the site out of fear when she vanished, without ever checking to see if she was even alive, never saying anything except she was MIA.
He also spoke of this weight he's been carrying all this time, still trying to be the "brave" and "heroic" lieutenant that everybody expects him to be and how he couldn't show any weakness, lest he let them all down...you included.
For years he was shamed for being a coward, when nobody knew that he and the entire department were just as terrified and helpless against those monsters as anyone. He mentioned not being able to sleep anymore...as the one who killed Ruth still remembers and taunted him every night over his failure.
It never made him forget, and some days he wished it was him who died instead.
Just so he didn't have to keep living with this burden.
He managed to speak calmly for the most part, uninterrupted by you. But he eventually broke down into tears when he tried explaining why he attempted to act cold towards you all those months ago.
Somewhere along the line, he spilled his true feelings of how he loved you and wanted to protect you but was far too scared of repeating his past mistakes, fearing that you'll end up just like-
However, you brought him into your arms before he could finish that statement, uttering something simple yet comforting that he needed to hear after all this time:
"It wasn't your fault."
And he immediately crumbled in your embrace, defeated as he quietly sobbed into your shoulder. He was unable to stop himself from clinging to you like some helpless child, but he didn't care anymore.
This felt a hundred times more cathartic than ranting on a cassette tape and writing letters to a dead person.
For some time, you held him without any judgement, rubbing his back as his emotions kept spilling forth. You wish you could kill the bastard that ruined his entire life...though this was all you could offer in the present.
And it was more than enough.
But as you comforted him, it finally sank in that this guy confessed to you, and you couldn't help but press a gentle kiss to his head, affirming that you reciprocated his feelings.
It seems he opened up to you in more ways than one.
"I love you too, Thatch." You muttered after he fell silent, to which he lifted his head up and looked at you with surprise.
"R-Really? You mean that?" He wiped at his watery eyes, slowly pulling out of the hug.
"Of course, why would I lie?"
"Well..uh...y-you just saw your "superior" have a freak out." Sniffling lightly, he looked down at his lap, the embarrassment catching up to him. "This is who I really am, [y/n]...just a loser crying like a baby over shit that happened nearly 20 years ago-"
"Hey. You're not a loser." You frowned a bit, taking both of his hands into yours. "Whether it's 20 years or 20 minutes..grief still hurts like a bitch, especially if you never confided in anybody until now. It's nothing to be ashamed of."
Thatcher nodded, his head feeling considerably clearer for the first time in ages. He was just relieved you didn't shun him. "Thanks for that...I've just..i-it's been hell, and...."
However, he trailed off as you leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek, both of you becoming equally flustered at what you just did on impulse.
It felt like you were both back in highschool, being two lovesick idiot teenagers who just shared their first kiss--except one was a lieutenant and the other a rookie cop.
He stared at you for some time, before smiling a bit. "How long have you been wanting to do that?"
"....a while." You admitted. "But..are you sure this is alright? Considering we work together, it might be...um-"
"What they don't know won't hurt 'em. So...now that everything's out there, you wanna go on an official "date" to that diner later?"
"I thought you'd never ask! But only if you're okay enough to. I don't want you to feel like I'm dragging you out of-"
"You're not. I need to get my ass up anyways."
---Two Weeks Later--
"Is it true that you're going out with the lieutenant??"
"Wha...who said that??" Stopping at one of the call operators' desks, you noticed her smug grin and stared back at her suspiciously. "Who else knows?"
"Uh, literally everybody here has known since last week. I haven't seen that guy smile in years until you came along. So whatever you did to drag him out of his shell...good job." She chuckled. "You must feel pretty lucky."
"Ah.." Flustered that you got so defensive so quickly over a known fact--that you and Thatcher were officially a couple--you just shook your head, flashing a tiny smile at her. "Thanks, but honestly he keeps telling me that he's the lucky one."
"That's fair. Before your break, can you run this file by him? It's for the case he's on."
"Sure." You took the folder and headed off to find your boyfriend at his desk, filing a report.
Only when you approached did he look away from the screen, a smile on his face. "Hey, you."
"Hey, you." You quickly pecked him on the lips, setting the folder down onto the table. He grumbled something about "PDA" and "staying professional", but you just rolled your eyes at his complaints. You can tell he wished the kiss was longer.
"I'm still your superior, y'know."
"Understood, "boss"..so what's the incident this time?" Curious, you peered over at his computer screen.
"A recent sighting of a supposed "child Alternate" that murdered the real kid's dad in the middle of the night," he explained, sipping his coffee. "It spared the actual person it mimicked, though..which is kinda weird, but I don't feel sorry for the bastard considering his criminal record. He lied in court just to get custody of a kid he didn't even give a shit about."
"Huh, interesting.." You hummed. "Maybe some Alternates can feel a sense of injustice around them? Or empathy?"
"I doubt it. They just mimic what they see and hear." He shrugged. "Once I finish this up I'll join you on break, okay?"
"Okaaay." You sighed dramatically, ruffling his hair up a little. "Don't work too hard, dear."
All you got was a small nod in return as Thatcher went back to typing, and you headed to the breakroom. But you could easily tell he was ready to keel over at the endearing nickname you've given him. That coffee mug couldn't hide the light blush that dusted his face no matter how hard he tried.
He's well aware of the risk he took by opening up to you, especially on the day where he felt he was at his lowest--something he never wanted anybody to see.
But he's glad he took that chance. Now that he knew you'd have his back, loving him and supporting him unconditionally, he was going to try his hardest to protect you.
And if that Alternate decided to come back?
He'll make sure it doesn't get to even breathe near you.
Not on his watch.

Hi Honey!!
So i wanted to ask how you would recommend finding “your people”? And finding others who have the same beliefs (like loas)
hii lalsyh 🫶🏽 i found my people through manifesting mainly and if i didn't consciously manifest, you find ur ppl the best when you are your authentic self. bcuz when ur being urself u attract ppl who match that energy and u end up being friends with like-minded ppl. but when ur being someone that ur not then ur gonna attract ppl who know a facade and not the real you yk? i hope this was a satisfactory answer 😭💗

Heyyy!! I read your saiki k headcanons, and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I noticed you mentioned something about kusuo's lack of self-acceptance?? And how you think he's good angst material?? And honestly, I'm a sucker for protagonist angst so maybe could you drop some hcs about that? Or just expand on that idea?? Thanks xx
late answer because tumblr didn’t notify me about this ask 😭 love you btw anon, i would love to talk at as many people as possible about saiki angst despite not being very coherent right now and i will be doing it!!!!
ok so we see a lot in the series that saiki doesn’t believe anyone could really love him.
examples of this: saying that his love meter ability that has never not worked before must be “broken” when it shows that his parents also have that crazy high number for him (+ considering their love for him second place to their love for each other since he was BORN??), always denying the idea that he could have meaningful relationships (specifically friendships but literally any) on the basis that he is “too different” from other people despite having his reasoning proven wrong literally all of the time, insisting that teruhashi’s feelings for him don’t come from her actually liking him (along with yumehara and aiura’s but we don’t see it as much), not believing that kuusuke didn’t hate him, etc.
to me, it’s pretty obvious that he’s fallen into the same trap a lot of people do at some point. he can’t wrap his head around people liking/loving him, because he does not like/love himself. the same goes for hiding his powers in a way; of course there’s the overarching reason that he doesn’t want to bring all the trouble of being known to have all of these psychic powers onto himself, but i think there’s a bit more underlying that than how it appears. he does not truly accept that part of him, so he can’t imagine anyone else would either.
like i said before, it’s this non-acceptance that leads to his obsession with appearing average/normal, and why if he fulfilled the wish of being completely average i don’t think it would make him actually happy. it’s like when you don’t want to admit you’re trans so you go even harder with appearing cis kinda?? yea. but because what he really wants is a world that will accept him, he changed the standards of a normal appearance/thinking speed/regeneration speed rather than changing himself to meet those standards
i think that both the lack of self acceptance and of self love come mostly from things that happened during his formative years. my favorite ones to explore are 1. him accidentally hurting akechi with his rage when they were kids and 2. kuusuke calling him a monster because why would you fucking say that kuusuke go sit in a corner and think about what you did. but those aren’t the only ones, there’s a lot going on there tbh
i hope this was satisfactory if you’re seeing this anon! i am about to pass out on my phone but i choose this over sleeping 🫶

Moony got the second biggest amount XD You know I love your wolf man! ^^
13, 14, 18, 20
You picked 18, Wicked... For any particular reason? 😏 XDDD
13. Name one thing their parents taught them.
If Moony was born and not drawn. I'm not sure what his homelife would be like yet though (I've got a very angsty idea... But I've also tortured my OC's enough 😭)
The wolf drummed the pads of his fingers on the table for a moment as he thought. It didn't take too long for him to answer, though, "My dad. He taught me how to use tools from a young age. He was a carpenter, so he knew a lot about that stuff. It helped me get into construction work, so I guess he also helped me with my career."
14. Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?
Yes, he does. To both of those questions. He jokes that some of the things he likes are guilty pleasures when they really aren't, like margaritas. There are others he feels genuinely guilty about, like the opportunity to just wreck shit up (some asshole at a bar, a plate smashing wearehouse, etc). He doesn't like that side of himself very much.
18. Kissing: tongue or no tongue?
The canines cheek fur puffed up a little before he rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. He seemed to now find the wall very interesting, "Well... The first option. I like how close you can get with french kissing. But you know. Teeth." He sheepishly smiled a little and pointed at his canines. They weren't completely exposed like they would be in a snarl, but you could still see his sharp fangs, "Nobody wants to get their mouth cut up."
20. What do they like that nobody else does?
"This is probably gonna sound pretty weird, but I've been taking an interest in true crime shows and documentaries lately." Moony replied, "I guess some people like it too? But it can get pretty depressing, so I'm not surprised that not a whole lot of folks dig it.
"... I honestly didn't think I'd like it considering everything, but I just found it while browsing channels one day, and I just got into it. I've even found Cake on my lap watching it when I fall asleep with the TV on, actually. So I guess I've got a little buddy to watch it with me, hehe."
I hope these answers were satisfactory! Thank you for sending them in! ^^

hiiii i really love your temehika art, this is probably a rly silly question but do you have any thoughts on where there relationship is around stormhail and their reactions to what happens to the other there? idk i rly enjoyed their stormhail chapters and think a lot about how they would handle each others
anway have a nice day c:
hello! thank you so much!! i'll put it under the cut since it's still technicallyyy spoilers also i wrote too much. hope you have a nice day too! and i hope my answer is satisfactory gjfhjka
personally, i like to believe that temehika had more of a slowburn relationship progression and i don't think they had anything interesting going on when their stormhail chapters happen... i do like to think of that as a turning point for their relationship though.
but first of all, i'll always link MakiFigaro's fic about their stormhail chapters intersecting because i think about it a lot... i think that even without temenos having any kind of particular interest in hikari, the thought of being unable to save another companion so soon after losing crick would just be too much for him...
i like to think that in crick's case, temenos was so strongly reminded of roi (also because of his relation to the church) that he was drawn to him immediately, almost too much and realizing too late that he was inadvertently dragging him into danger which wasn't something crick was prepared for unlike roi and jorg... you can see that temenos sort of pieces everything together during the stormhail chapter irt crick's similarity with roi and his little attempts to stop crick from investigating on his own but it's too late at that point o<-<
but when it comes to hikari, i think the realization comes slower for temenos... there are several similarities between the three (roi, crick, hikari) but i like that their earlier travel banters just sort of touch on it with temenos' chapter 2 calling hikari and crick his two trustworthy blades and i like to think that temenos is thinking of roi when he talks to hikari about ritsu in his chapter 2 banter... i think it's at hikari's chapter 4 banter when we begin to see how the way temenos treats hikari is different however, because he cautions hikari about trusting too easily but ultimately trusts him to make the right decision. with both roi and crick, it's like temenos almost feels obligated to be the one who keeps pushing them to doubt more often, but it's surprising (nice...) that he doesn't see hikari as someone who needs his guidance. (listen i know it's because the travelers can't make significant impacts on each other's stories but 1) i'm delusional and 2) i still think despite that, the fact that temenos doesn't even attempt to change hikari's mind and only offers a word of caution means a lot)
temenos' chapter 4 banter is where their connection really shines because they're the only two who talk so directly about how their losses affect themselves together? most likely because the banters have to assume that you haven't seen the other traveler's entire story yet, but since hikari already experiences so much loss in his chapter 1... 🥹 i think it's really nice that the game gave them that moment to talk about it a bit.
ok i got really sidetracked but that's only the first part of your question 😭 UH i'll try to keep the next part short... in terms of their reactions to each other's stormhail chapters, i think it makes the most sense for them to have split up after arriving in the city, and since hikari's banter in temenos' story takes place before crick's death, i feel like he would've been absent for it... (it feels like throne is the only one who was definitely near him at the time) so temenos is uh Distraught after hearing that hikari might've died at the castle mei bridge and especially after losing crick, he'd probably blame himself for not warning hikari more about rai mei's possible betrayal...
once hikari's returned to the group though, i think castti and hikari would try to comfort temenos since they have the most experience with grief. castti already tells him to take his time grieving in his chapter 2 and hikari would mostly just listen and stay by his side, i think...
anyway as per my first temehika fic (desert nights) i prefer to think of their relationship as only turning romantic after the events of the final chapter and epilogue. i think after losing kazan and with rai mei remaining in stormhail, as well as ascending the throne, he'd feel more isolated than ever and temenos similarly loses a real sense of purpose after repaying his debts to the dead and no longer having anyone to protect. that isn't to say i don't think their relationship can't start at any point tho ghjafdjk 20984903 temehikas existing in my head. simultaneously. anyway i seriously did write too much sorry about that hope it was enjoyable to read at least <3

i wanna know !! do you have an influence map? like movies music books and shows that definitely influenced your writing? you’re incredibly talented !! so i want to know what you find inspiring !!
omg hi Yasu, this is so sweet! and also such a good question! to be completely honest, I don't really know where my writing style came from and I very humbly feel like I have a lot to learn 🥲 but some books that I have read recently and really enjoyed the style of are Normal People by Sally Rooney and If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio.
I really like writing/art/music that moves me emotionally, and I tend to lean into more melancholy emotions to be honest. I feel like a lot of the writing I have posted on here (currently ;) doesn't really reflect that, but in the current stories I've been working on, I am trying to lean into heavier, more angsty moods.
but I listen to A LOT of music, and I think it influences me more than I realize. I can listen to a song and it makes me think of a specific character or I get these little scenes in my head that then spiral into their own stories or sometimes just stay little ideas :') I would say this happens the most when I'm listening to Lana Del Rey because she has that melancholy, dark romantic kind of vibe that I love so much <3
but also I lean into my emotional states too! like some days I feel super sensitive and I'm just day-dreaming about something lovey-dovey and then it transforms into an actual solid plot. that is honestly how the whole Choso Cherry Blossoms series came about :')
I also feel very inspired by a lot of other writers on this platform, yourself included 🥲 I just think there is so much talent here and I read a lot of fics that are just so incredibly well-written and it makes me feel inspired to keep improving my own style.
but I hope this was a satisfactory answer! I'm sorry it was so all over the place 😭 thank you, thank you for the ask—you are so sweet 🥲🌟🫶

How about 2 and 11 for the fandom asks? :)
Ooh, thank you, friend! :D (For the Fandom Year in Review Asks here.)
2. Favorite ships this year Oh man, what a loaded question, lol. Well, as I'm sure many of you know, I've fallen hard back into Trigun in 2023, lol! So I just have... a whole shitload of ships I've been reading for that, omg. Fave is probably Millyons (Knives x Milly lol) at this point, though, omg. (I blame @eomma-jpeg fully for this. >_>) But I still have such a huge soft spot for VashMeryl, too, as well as some other rarepairs like KLR (Knives/Livio/Razlo) or Kniveswood (Knives/Wolfwood 😅). Yes, there is a trend here... No, I won't examine it. >_> As for other media, I'm still well in to Genshin Impact as usual and my favorite Chili bois have yet to be unseated as my all time faves, lol. (I.e. Childe/Zhongli) I'm still like moderately invested in the Cyno/Alhaitham rarepair as well, though I haven't read as much for them. But perhaps the biggest surprise of all though is how down bad I am about Neuvillette x Furina. Like damn son, me stanning a straight ship in Genshin? XD This hasn't happened since Ayaka x Thoma. XD And I'm way more invested in Neuvy and Furina anyway, goodness. The whole Fontaine story arc absolutely destroyed me and I loved the two of them in it so much. I hope they get to be happy soon in the future. 😭😭😭
As for other IPs... Y'all know I still love DBH in my heart and still stan Convin and North60 with my life. I'm also still riding that FFVII Remake train and may or may not have read a bunch of Sefikura this year... >_> (Sephiroth/Cloud for those who don't know. Because the inherent eroticism of being sworn enemies will never not appeal to me. >_>) And also IkeSoren and Dimidue (Dimitri/Dedue) from Fire Emblem still live in my heart indefinitely. But also, a lot of my fandoms I've read this year I've been reading a lot of platonic stuff for, too. Haha, can't even list LotR/Silmarillion on here because all I ever read for that is Feanorian family feels. XD
11. Biggest squee moments of the year (For ye youths who no longer use such awesome terminology, that means the fandom moments that made your heart cry out in overwhelming joy. Can y’all believe that “squee” didn’t quite stand the test of time??)
Oh man, I'm trying to think here... Tbh, I've not watched very much new media this year and the stuff that was new was usually also pretty sad, lol. 😅 However... though it's a tad bit bittersweet, the end of Genshin's Fontaine Archon Quest just... destroyed me in the best way? Especially Furina's reaction to everything... (I'm trying to be vague here to avoid spoilers. XD) Like, I felt such palpable relief and joy for her after it all went down. Maybe not exactly a squee moment, but I was definitely inordinately happy, haha. XD
And you know what else? Her damn character trailer. XD It was so fun?! Absolutely chaotic and whimsical and so over the top and I've watched it so many fuckin times. XD Dang, I love her. 💙
Also, just mark down like a bunch of fanfic moments, lol, because of course. XD I couldn't list them all if I tried but... The two that immediately came to mind for me were Milly and Knives' whole relationship in @eomma-jpeg's exeptional fic In the Meadow, and also the last posted chapter of Bgtea's ridiculously long and ridiculously good Genshin fic, Entirely Out of Spite. (I recommend these both wholeheartedly.)
But yes, hope my meandering answers were satisfactory, @keltii-tea. Thank you for the asks! XD

Do you have singing voice HCs for any DM characters?
Ooh good question! Of course you can take my headcanons with a grain of salt, but I'm happy to share!
I sort of do, but not quite to the same degree as my hyperfixation on my GX crew singing voice headcanons. Or maybe it is actually it's been a while since I've thought about these guys that way aksksk
Like for instance we have a frame of reference for Seto because Eric Stuart is a singer. Which would apply to Bastion a little bit too through the transitive property of voice actors but Seto's voice is more or less just Eric's and Bastion's isn't so I think about them very differently.
Side note: Seto can sing and has a nice voice but would literally never sing ever in his life so I don't think even he knows what his vocals are like. 🤭
We also sorta have a frame of reference for Téa because in my experience we all just kinda agree that it's her singing We'll Be There even though it's not actually Amy Birnbaum singing. But from that frame of reference I think it's safe to say I think she'd have a very pop-y voice. Her voice is light enough to be very agile for runs and has the energy for more upbeat songs. I also think she lives more in the upper register, not quite full soprano though. She'd probably be more of a mezzo soprano in like a choir or something like that. But she's got a great belting range. So jealous
Tristan I actually think about the most. I think he actually has a very good voice and everyone is surprised by that when they find out. It's kinda like a secret talent but he's modest about it. He's the most musically adept between the four of them apart from Téa since she's a dancer and has that side on lock too, but he keeps it to himself. But goddammit his voice is smooth like butter and lives in that middle voice range. Get him on a nice slow acoustic song and he'll change your fucking life.
Joey is the most amateurish with his sound and general talent but he tries. He's lowkey jealous of Tristan's innate vocal talent and tries harder to get good so he can one up him at first but then just grows to enjoy it. And he's more of a belter than Tristan which he loves to flex but in a fun and playful way. Hid voice like I said is amateurish and rough and unrefined, but he's got the spirit and the potential to be a very very good vocalist as he improves.
Bakura has the sweetest most gentle tuckin voice in the world 😭 except for Yugi but shhhhh! Like you want him singing lullabies to your kids at night. His voice is very melodious and his British accent survives in his vocals which just 😭 his range is deceptively low though but is generally very wide.
I haven't thought super deep into Duke or Mai but I have decided they both have deep, sultry, very sexy voices 😩 Like they would KILL in a midnight piano bar. Voice part wise I've always had it in my mind that Mai would be an alto, probably 2nd alto, and Duke would be a baritone. I also can't imagine any senerio where Mai doesn't have natural vibrato 😩
And Yugi 🤔 Yugi is very self conscious about his voice but like Bakura, he has the fucking sweetest most gentle voice you've ever heard. It's just as gentle as he is, and his range leans more on the higher side but he's got more of a lower register than Sy does of you know my headcanon about him 🤭 Joey loves to be his hype man if the situation ever arises where Yugi sings anything like if they're having a karaoke night or something and he appreciates the sentiment but get soooo embarrassed. He and Téa duet at karaoke night a lot and their voices are very well matched 🥰
Tbh haven't really thought about Atem that much that way 🤔 but in my mind he's a bass/baritone. But he probably has a very nice voice too, strong and warm and just a kinda naturally refined sound. I dunno really, but he can definitely sing 😅
Hope that's a satisfactory answer for you! 💜

Looking forward to what you'll be writing! <3
perspective (jinho lee x reader)
details: oneshot, gender neutral reader written in 2nd pov, general canon au but if jinho never took that motel job, you and jinho are roommates/friends
warning: themes of existentialism...? jinho and reader have those kinds of "philosophical" conversations !
summary: a conversation leads to jinho feeling like the knot he's had in his mind is slowly beginning to untangle.
a/n: dw, anon, im glad u even came back and replied at all 😭💖 thanks for letting me know, i hope this works for you~ i focused on the last part (the build up of everything) of ur request bc the rest is kinda hard to fit into a oneshot; much apologies T_T

A goal to live for; a reason to make life "meaningful."
Out of everything in Jinho's life, that was what he felt like he was missing. It wasn't suffocating him, but it did make him feel... empty. And, well, he felt empty enough as is, he didn't exactly need the lack of a goal to make him even more emptier. The thing was, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find a satisfactory answer.
Granted, he never asked anyone for their thoughts and only tried to come up with conclusions himself, but he felt like he didn't need to. Aside from believing no one was worthy enough to answer, it was just easy to guess how most people would reply anyway. Something cheesy like, "Work hard and achieve your dreams," is what they would say, probably.
It's not as if that in particular was a bad idea, it just didn't feel like enough for Jinho. Perhaps there was more to his feelings... either way, he couldn't untangle the knot in his mind.
~
Jinho tilted his head at the building he found himself stopping at to observe. It was an animal shelter of some kind. A brand new building, one he figured couldn't have been but a few months old.
Brightly colored posters were plastered around and he ended up walking closer to read them. He had to bend down a bit before he could properly see what was on them. The posters were asking for volunteers to help the staff.
"Should I sign up?" he wondered, holding his chin as he read the details on the paper. It was volunteer work, so the lack of pay felt like a waste but he could potentially earn himself a few reputation points. Not to mention, it would probably look good on his resume. He also had free time on his schedule and was able to make adjustments here and there so perhaps...
As he thought about it, the sound of the building's door opening made him straighten up and look over. To his surprise, he saw his roommate.
"Bye! See you tomorrow!" you called out to someone from in the shelter before the door shut behind you. The next second, you noticed Jinho and jumped a little. "You scared me!"
"Obviously," he quipped, smiling. He pointed at the poster he was just reading. "Are you a volunteer at this place?"
You sighed at his quick topic change but went along with it. "Yeah, I just discovered it like a few days ago. I was going to tell you about it since you like animals. I think?"
"How thoughtful." Jinho adjusted the grocery bags in his arm and continued to smile at you. "I was considering it. Is the work easy?"
"Well, you just clean and hang around animals mostly. Sometimes the staff force you to talk to the customers to inform them about the animals, but that's about it. So, yeah, I'd say it's easy."
Jinho hummed at your response. "I'll sign up some other day, then. It's a bit late into the evening now."
"Alright." You eyed his bags and then looked back at him. "Are you heading home?"
"Yes, I just came from a grocery store." Before you could say anything, he added, "I only bought things to make me dinner."
"You asshole," you said with a laugh, lightly slapping his arm.
He politely nodded as if to agree with you. "I'll make it up to you by walking home with you."
"If you make dinner for me with what we already have at home, I'll forgive you then."
"I refuse to cook for you unless I get something out of it."
"This guy..." A few more chuckles left you while you moved to walk alongside your roommate as he began to walk off. "I'll forgive you this time only."
"Okay." He gave you that same blank smile.
You shook your head before settling your hands in the pockets of your pants. "Anyways, now that you know about the animal shelter, I wanna talk about it."
"Okay."
"Could you be any more dry?"
"Gladly."
"You piece of..."
~
Despite the bickering, the conversation eventually carried on into what you intended, and it ended peacefully. When the two of you arrived home, it trailed off into other topics.
Jinho started cooking for himself right away while you slid into a seat at the dining table with a snack of your choice in your hand. The two of you continued to speak while busying yourselves.
"I'm jealous of the simple lifestyle animals have," you suddenly brought up.
Jinho couldn't help but laugh a little. "Talking about the animal shelter again?"
"Kind of, I just meant what I said in general, though. Aren't you jealous, too?"
"I suppose. There is less nuance for animals in their black and white world of kill or be killed. No 'morals' to fight over." He stirred up what was in his pot before glancing at you from the lack of a response. You were currently appearing rather bewildered, as if he said something that wasn't correct.
You cleared your throat. "...I was going to say I'm jealous of animals because they don't have to pay rent or deal with capitalism, but you're absolutely right." While Jinho laughed again, you said, "Being an animal would also be kind of scary, though. Every day I would have to be fighting for my survival."
"Don't you already do that?" Jinho glanced at you again, only to make sure you would see the glint in his eye. "You never know when there's a serial killer nearby, after all~"
The sound you made after what he said sounded like you were faking a shiver. "Generally I feel safe, though. I know humanity can be cruel, but at least I'm not living in a kill or be killed situation."
Jinho continued to stir. Wherever this conversation was going, it was starting to become intriguing. "Does it not bother you that humanity is cruel in the first place?"
"Of course, but that's not all there is to humanity. Kindness and being caring is a big aspect of being human. And I think that outweighs the bad, no matter how terrible things get."
"Is that so..." As Jinho turned off the stove, he mulled over your opinion. "Is that how you define humanity, then?"
"Sure, if you wanna put it like that." You munched on your snack for a bit and then blurted, "Oh, and stuff like creativity. Art, cooking, and all that--that's what makes humans human!" You smiled at at your roommate while he stared emotionlessly at you. He had trouble processing your words and only realized he forgot to reply after your smile started to fade. "You're an art student, so you get what I mean, right?"
"Hm." He tried to give you some kind of smile to compensate for his little reaction while he moved about to grab a bowl and spoon. "I'll just say that's an interesting point of view."
You raised a brow. "Is it? I think it's a pretty common view." You timidly asked, "Do you not think the same?"
Jinho let out a small, airy laugh. "I feel like I'm the only human in this world, but I don't think the way you do at all."
A look of concern grew on your face. "Well... what do you think, then?"
"I don't know. I haven't put much thought on it, and even if I did, there's a knot in my head preventing it. All I know is I feel like a human and everyone else feel like... animals."
"Huh." Your look of concern intensified. "I didn't know you thought like that, Jinho."
"Yes, because I've never told you." You shot him a glare, which only earned you a sly smile. Once he got his things together, he left the now empty pot in the sink and joined you at the dining table with his meal. "I'd still like to hear more about your view on humanity. Outside of what defines being human, what do you imagine is the 'most human' goal to have? What is there to strive for in our short, insignificant lives?"
"Woah, this conversation took a very intense turn," you replied, seemingly trying to lighten the mood. "Wait until 1:00 AM or something to give me an existential crisis."
"Very funny, now will you answer my question?"
He watched in amusement as you thinned your lips and shifted in your seat, clearly looking uncomfortable. Still, you ended up giving him an answer, but not before saying, "I don't know if the feeling you were describing earlier means you feel lonely, but I hope you know I'm here for you. We're roommates, but we're friends, too."
Words Jinho had heard millions of times. At least you seemed more truthful about them. As far as he could tell, you "cared" for him more than other people he's met, and you weren't annoying about it or trying to get something out of him.
Still, he ended up shrugging off your kindness. "Don't worry about it. Tell me what your answer to my question is."
A look of pity flashed in your eyes. "Right, uh... I can't speak for everyone, but personally I don't think we even really need to have goals."
"That's boring." Jinho frowned at your unsatisfying answer. He had been waiting all this time for your reply after the interesting things you said, only for this to be your answer? It didn't help him at all. He should've kept to his original idea about never asking anyone what they lived for.
You seemed mildly offended. "Listen, I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with simply living. We all don't need to be main characters going through six training arcs before achieving our goal of beating some bad guy. I mean, maybe some people do have it like that, and good for them to have something to strive for, but me and some other people are fine with just drifting by."
The frown on Jinho's face firmly stayed there. "Isn't that kind of lifestyle empty? What's the point if there's nothing to push you?"
"This probably sounds crazy, but some people just want to live and enjoy life as it is." Now you were just being sarcastic, yet there was a genuineness in your words. "Besides, I'd argue being unsatisfied and bored with life is what's really empty."
Why did that sound like you were indirectly calling him out? Surprising even to himself, it left Jinho unable to say anything in response.
Your words swirled around in his head, and he ended up deciding to just start eating his dinner. Meanwhile you went back to eating your snack and a silence fell over you two.
Of course, there was more Jinho wanted to say, but he was unsure of how to. He had much more to think about anyway.
~
Weeks had gone by. Things went back to normal after a slight awkward stage. The conversation from then had not been brought up between you two ever since but it stayed in Jinho's consciousness. For too long, if he had to be honest.
Again, he never asked for anyone's thoughts on what they lived for because he didn't think anyone was worthy enough to answer, but the conversation he had with you lead him to asking for your opinion.
Your answer was so strange. Here he was, wandering aimlessly and feeling empty with no direction, and was now being told that was okay. He didn't have to feel empty? He could be content with such a life? It made no sense. Yet you were a living perfect example of what you had described. It was easy for anyone to see how happy you were with your life.
What you thought of humans also fascinated him. Kindness and creativity, those were acts of humanity. He was capable of both, was that what made him human? You were capable of both as well. And his classmates. And the neighbors. And even the lady at the grocery store. But how come your kindness felt so different from his? Because he knew he only acted kind to get what he wanted while you acted kind just for the sake of it? Were you... more human than him?
Curiosity is all he felt. He wanted to understand--he had to understand why you were able to live and think the way you did. Anything but his boring life would be better.
"Who would've thought a simple conversation with some roommate would have me rethinking my entire life?"
It felt ridiculous to him, but he couldn't deny feeling somewhat thankful. The threads in his head were being gently tugged on after all. It could potentially lead to the knot being untangled.
Perhaps the simple insight you gave him that day were the words he had needed to hear to all his life.

Any predictions for silverborn?
Hi! Sorry this took me so long to answer, I realized I didn’t have anything to give you and ended up rereading all three books 😭
But honestly, I don’t have any predictions I’m super confident in. My primary theory is that It Will Make Me Sad. But here are some things I’m sort of hoping for!
It would be fun if “silverborn” was a dragon thing. A type of dragon? A rank among dragons? Not totally sure, but I’m very intrigued by the idea of dragon societies in Nevermoor, considering they have their own language. Silverborn also just sounds like a dragon-y word. Don’t know why, but it has the vibes.
Maybe a “silverborn” is a kid born on Morningtide? In that case, the silverborn would likely be Squall since the book is supposed to focus on his backstory (maybe explaining why he knows the Morningtide’s Child song).
I honestly don’t think it’s related to the Nevermoor Silver District, (feels too obvious) but. I wouldn’t be exactly opposed to seeing Noelle again, now that she lost the trials & has been disgraced etc etc
I want to learn about the Wundrous Art related to mind control! Squall would probably be eager to teach this one, right? Being classically evil and all.
I hope Jack learns about the apprenticeship before Jupiter does. I don’t know how this would work (maybe Jupiter is gone when she gets home? maybe she somehow finds a way to manipulate the Gossamer as a Wundersmith? I don’t want him to lose his knack :( but maybe that?) but I’m curious to see what his reaction will be!!
ALTERNATIVELY: Jupiter knows but doesn’t ask her about it, making her think he doesn’t know, because he isn’t ready to deal with it yet. It’s tough being a single father of two teenagers yknow
Squall should find increasingly strange secluded places to host his lessons with Morrigan. in an abandoned warehouse. in her bedroom in the middle of the night, suddenly appearing without warning. in Cascade Towers. inside a Ghostly Hour. in the middle of a Tricksy Lane. in Crow Manor while they are both on the Gossamer line. in Maud’s office.
Maybe this will be the book we learn Arch’s hair & eye colors! please.
More Wundrous Divinities! specifically, I would love to know what it takes to master Nocturne (if that’s even a thing that happens), since Morrigan seems to have that down pretty well. maybe something to do with the thing she did in Wundersmith when she destroyed a globe through the sheer force of letting wunder go? Or maybe it’s just a matter of control. Maybe it’s, like, a thing you get once you’ve mastered all the other Wundrous Arts? not sure. But I would love to learn!
That’s everything I can think of for now! hope that was satisfactory lol
