Hey everyone this is my first failed attempt at writing Shadamy but I promised my Shadamy shipping friends I would write it. Shout out to @bearfoottruck and @punkeropercyjackson

I hope it's alright, I always wanted to write Shadamy because I am a multishipper in the Sonic fandom and reading some amazing Shadamy fanfiction by talented writers sold me.

And yes, the plot of this fanfic is basically that episode of Sonic X where Amy makes Sonic a seashell bracelet.....But make it Shadamy!

Amy always loved going to the beach with her friends.

She loved everything about it! Swimming until you need to nap, looking for seashells, eating watermelon. But today, she couldn't help but space out a lot, which didn't go unnoticed by Cream.

Maybe Amy couldn't sit in a beach chair and watch the peaceful blue skies without thinking of how heroes risk their lives so she and her friends could have these beach days.

Everyone was so happy and relieved, and Amy wanted to be happy too. That's why she tried not to remember the gang's latest near-death experience.

But the moment Amy became breathless kept playing in her head, where Shadow used his entire body to guard her, and Amy stood as still as a statue watching Shadow's honorable sacrifice.

Every sharp cut hit Shadow, and Amy didn't receive a single cut on her delicate skin. Amy barely noticed wounds on Shadow, but she was told he was the Ultimate Lifeform; she didn't truly understand until she saw Shadow take every hit like it was nothing.

But when everything was deflected, Shadow took a moment to look at Amy, and her aqua-blue eyes sparkled as she saw the pain Shadow was holding in his deep red eyes. And before Amy knew it, Shadow had run away, even though she had tried to reach out for him.

Amy and the others escaped the deadly base before it exploded and went down in flames. But nobody knew where Shadow was, even Sonic, who raced around the remains of the destroyed base. And even if the day was saved, Amy couldn't help but stay up late at night wondering where Shadow was.

And now, even if the waves were gentle and the sky was clear, she couldn't forget that moment.

Shadow the Hedgehog was the Ultimate Lifeform. He had so much power that he needed golden bracelets to hold all that power in. Being created as a force of destruction must've been a lot for Shadow to go through.

Amy couldn't take that! She finally got up, walked away from the shady umbrella, and started to search the beach while all her friends played in the water and laughed.

She circled around the beach, looking for the best beach shells. Eventually, Cream looked at a distance from her inner tube, knowing that Amy wanted to make some seashell jewelry. But Amy was less happy and cheerful about it and more serious.

And she was! Amy spent hours finding the perfect tiny pink sea shells to make a bracelet. Eventually, Cream couldn't take it and tried to look over her shoulder.

"Are you making something, Miss Amy?"

Amy gasped and hid the bracelet she was making away. "No Cream!" She cried hastily.

Amy was sweating a lot, and Cream looked absolutely stunned, but Amy managed to smile sheepishly. "I'm just experimenting, that's all!"

Amy hoped that would be a good enough excuse.

Cream innocently smiled at Amy and took her hand to drag her off. Amy quickly clutched the unfinished bracelet in her hand; Cream didn't give her a moment to prepare.

"Well, you should eat dinner with us if you want to experiment with sea shells Miss Amy!"

Amy felt that was fair. She would spend time with everyone, put on a brave face, and have to finish the bracelet she was making for Shadow at night while everyone was asleep.

When Cream finally fell asleep smiling, Amy finally finished the seashell bracelet under the light of the stars and moon.

But it wasn't until she finished that she wondered if the whole thing was pointless. Shadow disappeared again and wouldn't let anyone in with everything that happened to him in the past. He always slipped away from her, and she placed the sea shell necklace down and laid down to watch the stars in the clear night sky.

That was until a beautiful shooting star flew above her, and Amy sat up in shock.

She could've chalked it up to lack of sleep, but that was the biggest shooting star she ever saw. It was bright silver and reminded her of when a certain black hedgehog unleashed the power of the seven chaos emeralds.

"Shadow!" Amy whispered.

Amy grabbed the bracelet and ran out of the bedroom, not bothering to stay quiet. It took her a moment to reach the beach, and her heart pounded, hoping he wouldn't slip away from her again. Shadow flew down and landed on the shore as he powered down from his super form. The black hedgehog stood alone and let the waves wash over his feet, and Amy stood quietly watching him.

Amy took two steps forward and hesitated momentarily. Still, after seeing Shadow's anguish, she couldn't help herself.

"Shadow!" Amy cried.

Shadow did a low gasp as he turned around. His bright red eyes looked absolutely bewildered at the pink hedgehog.

Amy placed her hand over her heart and found it hard to speak, but then her aqua-blue eyes softened, seeing a much gentler side of Shadow.

"You're back," she said.

Shadow frowned, then turned to the ocean when he saw Amy's heartbroken face. There was the sound of the ocean waves rolling in and out, and Shadow sighed.

"I couldn't give up because it was haunting," Shadow said. Amy didn't understand what Shadow meant, but she could feel the weight he must've carried from that fateful day.

Shadow thought about it again, how he shielded Amy and the look on her face when she saw him be so strong and so vulnerable at the same time.

Something Shadow didn't want to show to such an innocent girl. As cowardly as it was, he found himself walking away with his head low. But Amy puffed up her cheeks and ran to the shore to meet him.

Shadow wished she would find some sense and walk away, or the world might turn upside down as he may humor the idea for a moment.

But Shadow turned to her in surprise as she didn't beg him for anything. She just had her head down with her eyes closed and presented him with a seashell bracelet in her hands.

And for a moment, Shadow swore he felt his heart rate react differently, but just a moment.

Such primitive mortal emotions, but Shadow couldn't bring himself to say no. He attempted to accept the gift but pulled his hand away at the last moment.

Amy gasped and looked into Shadow's beautiful red eyes. The pink hedgehog felt stubborn and took his warm hand, and to her and Shadow's surprise, he didn't object.

Both felt a strange warmth they weren't used to, but Amy set that thought aside as she gently placed the seashell bracelet around his wrist. And she felt it complimented the solid gold bracelet he wore.

And both Amy and Shadow couldn't bring themselves to move as their hands touched and fit almost perfectly.

Amy went wide-eyed and started to blush, but before she could fall over, Shadow took her hands in his and looked away for a moment. Then his red eyes looked deep into her aqua eyes, and Amy couldn't bring herself to speak, so Shadow did it for her.

"...Thank you, Amy…"

Amy did a low gasp as she vibrated a bit. "Oh…"

Because she could reply, Shadow let go of her hands and used his super speed. He was gone before Amy could run after him, and once again, Amy felt helpless as she turned away, only for Cream, Tails, and Sonic to be not too far behind her.

Oh no! Amy was doomed! She wasn't sure how much they saw, but there was no sense in denying it as Cream ran up to her.

"Miss Amy!" Cream cried.

Amy tried to keep it together in front of Cream, but Cream looked incredibly concerned.

"Miss Amy! Has Shadow really returned?"

Amy looked away as a blush formed on her face.

"...Yes."

Shadow wanted to leave this beach behind but stopped when he saw stars reflecting on the water and the full moon shining above him. And he looked down at the sea shells around his wrist and the innocent hedgehog girl who gave him this heartfelt gift.

He held his hand up to the moon and saw the shiny golden bracelet and the bracelet made out of delicate pink sea shells. It was strange that his cursed life led to this.

He thought he was the Ultimate Lifeform, born only to destroy, yet…

This one girl may be showing him that he was more than that…

But he had to protect her no matter what, which meant he had to leave this beach before she could run after him.

But the seashell bracelet would always keep her connected to him.

Hi okay SO. I have been putting off making an introduction post because I'd mostly prefer people to just look at my blog and decide if they want to hang out based on that, rather than making some big definitive statement about Who I Am.

But I'm currently accumulating followers at a truly alarming rate and - look, I don't want to give the impression I'm ungrateful, I am genuinely SO TOUCHED by every single one of you who's interested in what I have to say!! The feeling is 100% mutual, and I am having a blast sharing everyone's thoughts and enthusiasm. It's just that my goal with this blog is to have fun and do my own thing. I don't hate attention but I'm also not looking for it.

On balance, then, I think it's probably a good idea to give people a general sense of what I'm about so that if it doesn't appeal to you, we can opt out of each other's social circle before anyone steps on anyone else's toes.

My general philosophy:

I am here to have fun. I might occasionally have a little kvetch about some fandom trend or another but ultimately, even if your favourite trope drives me up the wall, I'm genuinely so happy that it is out there bringing you joy. I try very very hard to treat everyone with kindness and to avoid getting caught up in drama.

This isn't a clique it's a community. Please leave commentary on my posts or drop me a message if you wanna chat!

I follow and unfollow pretty liberally and never mean anything personal by it. I might consider you a friend but still unfollow if your current hyperfocus isn't jiving with mine. Primary Fandoms

Good Omens - I have loved this fandom for years and years, since before the TV show as it exists today was even a twinkle in Neil's eye. I ship Crowley and Aziraphale SO HARD and I am completely blown away by everything that we've gotten since the first season came out in 2019. Fifteen year old me could not even have imagined!!!

Supernatural - Literal opposite energy. I resisted this show for its entire run, after watching the pilot when it aired and thinking "if I watch this, I will end up shipping the brothers, and I am just not prepared for shipping the brothers." Fifteen years later destiel came in swinging with the steel chair and I grumbled and decided I'd better watch it to find out what all the fuss was about. And do you guys know what? I was right all along. I came away from that show obsessed with it as a gothic horror story and shipping the brothers hard. So wincest is my otp, but I'm a multishipper and I have a soft spot for wincestiel, destiel and sastiel too. As a darkfic enjoyer, I also dabble in John/Dean/Sam and variants. I'm not, like, opposed to less-dark takes on this, they just don't do much for me. I'm pretty careful to tag ships in this fandom consistently, so if you don't want to see something, you can blacklist it.

Side Fandoms

You might see these occasionally or for short stretches but they aren't currently taking over my brain the same way Good Omens and Supernatural are.

plz allow me to complain abt something that's been bothering me lately. demi-aro/ace IDs in fandom are almost always used as an excuse for shipping. ppl have forgot the phrase "OTP" and instead of just saying they're not a multishipper they make a character demi and wow! character A has never once in their life considered romance/sex before meeting their one true love character B!!

this is purely anecdotal, but i see waaaay more non-aspecs headcanoning characters as demi than actual aspecs. and when i do see aspecs headcanoning characters as demi some of them are, you know, single? the demi character is not being shipped?? bc many demi ppl are not very interested in romance/sex???

like i read soooo many fics and headcanons where the Demi Character has never considered romance/sex before, perhaps they even think they're strange and broken! but then they meet Character B and start to have..... ~Feelings~ wow! it's the romance/sex feeling that they've never had or cared about before!! then their lifelong lack of interest is never brought up again and it doesn't effect their relationship and they don't think abt it anymore bc they've met their True Love :] they have no reason to consider not having felt a romance and/or sex before bc they've been Healed by their True Love, who also just happens to almost never be headcanoned as aspec as well. bc ofc how else will the Demi Character recognize their own emotions!! no worries, their allo partner is here to make the first move and teach them what ~Love~ is :]

and it also gets used for angst reasons too a lot of the time. Allo Character is in love w Demi Character and woe to them! Demi Character has never expressed any attraction to anyone. surely they have no chance w Demi Character and must angst abt their (seemingly) unrequited feelings. at least until Demi Character reveals to Allo Character that they've never felt these sorts of feelings...... until meeting Allo Character. who is sooooo special that now they feel love for the first time ever :]

ofc not every fic ever has to get all in-depth into the demi/general aspec experience, but after a while it gets a little jarring when the Demi Character is seemingly only demi for the purposes of dramatic feeling realizations and then is functionally fully allo for the duration of their relationship

idk idk. it's coming off like a reskinning of "you only think you're aro and/or ace bc you just haven't meet the ~Right Person~ yet" but now ppl are calling themselves allies for doing it

I think THE most unpleasant shift in fandom culture these recent years is the gradually growing expectations put onto creators for their fanart/fanfic etc. to adhere to canon. Your ships have to have canon interactions, your depictions and ideas have to have a basis in canon etc.

On it's own it's not a bad way to go about things. That's just one of many ways to enjoy fandom. But the past few years I've seen so much judgement and criticism aimed at fandom creators who don't follow this supposed new "norm" of "respecting" canon. And I rarely ever see anyone pointing this out even though it's been such a drastic shift.

Again, it's not a bad way of enjoying fandom... but I feel like many people expecting others to follow canon fundamentally misunderstand why some of us create fanworks in the first place?

Like, I've always been a rarepair and multishipper. I constantly joke about how you could hold a gun to my head and I'd literally not remember even 1/8 of every character and ship I enjoy, because my favorite thing in fandom is to imagine every single potential dynamic I can think of between characters. I love to analyze personalities, character stories, envision which of them could overlap and flourish with potential together based on the canon I love.

I only do this with media I really enjoy, because for me to get that invested in imagining dynamics between often an entire cast, I have to immensely enjoy said cast, as well as the world they live in, the stories they tell, everything. For me this is a way of enjoying a story even after it's finished. The journey may be over done, but I sure am not!

Beause that's the thing about it all; if I wanted to consume only canon adjascent things, then I'd stick to consuming the canon source only. I wouldn't go out of my way to read or write fics if I was just looking for more of the canon.

This isn't something rare or alien to do, even though nowadays it feels like you always have to be at the ready to "defend" your interests and justify them to people who lack imagination to the point where they're incapable of comprehending that other people might gain a different sort of enjoyment from fandom and fanworks. Which wouldn't be a problem if they at least learned how to mind their own business.

I will limit this to 5

Ships, where one of the characters has very little development going on outside of their relationship with the other char, get boring really quickly even when the dynamic between the chars is nice. The main ones I can think of are Ranpoe and Bachisagi, they're both ships I really liked at the start and now find only slightly more interesting than watching paint dry. In Ranpoe's case, the problem comes from Poe being a minor character whereas Ranpo is a major character, so Poe is never really gonna get much development for any other possible relationships he could have. For Bachisagi, the problem started after the 2nd selection ended where Bachira basically got demoted to a minor character whose only deep relationship is with Isagi. Bachira clearly has other friends but his other friendships feel so superficial, he's never allowed to just be alone with one of them for an entire scene (the closest he got was Rin and that ended up being forgotten too). I can say more about Bachira's relationship with Lavinho than his friendship with Chigiri, even though he's known Chigiri for way longer and likes him enough to hang out with him while not needing Isagi to be there. I just really need both characters to be fully fleshed out in situations where they're not with each other, especially when they're major characters.

Reki x Langa is the only best friends ship in a sports anime that I love. In some cases, the bromance is so good that making it romantic kinda ruins it for me (Kuroko and Kagami, Hinata and Kageyama...) and even when it's not an amazing bromance, making it romantic still kinda ruins it for me. But for some reason, Ranga just avoids being ruined when romantic, idk why.

Continuing with the sports anime and best friends theme, I always hate the lazy guy x his best friend. Every single time, it doesn't matter what, it is a canon event and I can't stop it. Heck, even when the lazy guy is actually just faking laziness like Tsukishima in Haikyuu, that ain't stopping that 100% hate rate.

Ships, where both characters have a perfect relationship, are the most boring ones, especially when the only conflicts in their relationship are purely caused by external factors. Like Eliwood x Ninian from FE7 is so goddamn boring. If you were to put them in a modern AU with 0 fantasy/magic, there would be literally nothing of interest going on. If I can't put a ship in a mundane modern AU without it becoming uninteresting, it's just not a good ship to me. Purely fluffy ships are cute for a while but they get old so fast if there's no source of inner conflict. You can have two ships with similar dynamics and the one with inner conflict will always be more interesting to me. The inner conflict doesn't need to always have to result in the characters fighting btw, it's usually just the most entertaining form of it. For example, Nagisagi and Kurosagi have similar dynamics on the surface (both being Isagi paired up with a chill guy who doesn't emote much) but Nagisagi has inner conflict whereas Kurosagi is kinda just fluff.

There needs to be more harem where the person with the harem actually dates the entire harem. I've always been a pretty big multishipper and there are times when I've shipped a character with basically every reasonable option possible. But I never really cared to go beyond OT3s. That is until BL got me into harems and I started reading The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. It's about a dude who keeps dating more and more girls at the same time (Rentarou is a giga chad, he actually loves them all without favoring one over the others and his GFs end up becoming close friends with each other). It's always fun to read fics about everyone loving the fandom bike but the fandom bike only ever loves one back or never chooses. The ones where there is some action with more than one char are usually when the MC kinda plays around with everyone but never fully commits. Like, even in the harem genre, it's a very unexplored dynamic with it usually just being saved for the end as a cop-out to make everyone happy that their best girl is happy with the MC. I need more giga chads who can handle an entire harem. Kill all the Kazuyas and give the world more Rentarous, harem manga writers.

How I played damage control to an anti in a small anime fandom and may have led to her ultimate downfall

I know I had a really nice write up of this at one point but oh well. I’ll spill more of the tea in this one because honestly the tea was so hot.

There are a few things that I have to give context to first. Gaia online was like THE mega forum of the 2000s, you made a little avatar and through posting and doing other activities on the forum you made money to buy clothes for your avatar. There were forums for everything but the fannish portions were really what drew in most of the people. The anime I was into was Beyblade. It was a shonen anime about fighting with tops that were possessed by the spirits of magical creatures. The story was honestly pretty average but the characters were fantastic and the fandom is to this day still one of my favourites. The series had a primarily male cast and didn’t even have a female lead until the second season. This led to the fanfic for the English fandom being about 70% canon/OC, 10 % canon m/f, and 20% slash. The most popular character in the English fandom was by far Kai Hiwatari, the loner badboy of the team.

Also before we get started I would like to add that one of my best friends was neck deep in this and the two of us were more or less fandom married. This is the same friend that I fake dated, had feelings for, and she nearly got me into kpop in 2011 so like if you haven’t read that story please read it too because it will give you a good idea of how stupid I am and how much of a fanfic I have truly lived. 

To set the stage I was 16, soon to be 17 when I joined the fandom and it was 2004. In September of that year I wrote a humour longfic that became an absolute smash hit and I found myself somehow fandom famous. It was around this time that I joined Gaia online. I made my little avatar and immediately went looking for the beyblade thread so that I could make new friends. I found the main thread, made my little introduction and at the end of it mentioned that I was a slash writer but I supported all ships. This is where I met C. She had declared herself the authority on Beyblade in these parts and I had just committed the crime of mentioning slash which was very obviously not canon and we did not discuss in this thread because we only discussed canon things. I was like well that’s a bit severe but like sure whatever I just want to hang out and have fun. 

Oh boy did I have no idea what I was in for. 

C was a year older than me and unfortunately that made her older than the majority of the fans at the time. Her favourite character was Kai, and she was not shy about talking about this fact. She stanned Kai above all other characters, and often at their expense. She was also a fanfic writer of a popular canon/OC series. Actually, she was so full of herself that she didn’t even call herself a fanfic writer, no her stories were in fact novels and were apparently very good. I never read them. But more on that later. 

Eventually the slash fans got tired of her being rude to us in the general thread so we made a Beyblade slash thread. There was a core of like 8 or so of us and we honestly had sooo much fun. When C would be too unbearable in the main thread the people from there used to come over to our thread and we’d chat with them about non slash stuff because we were honestly all multishippers and just wanted to have fun. We’d get comments like “wow, I’ve had more pleasant canon het ship discussions in the slash thread than the regular thread”. We never worried about C coming over and getting upset about comments like this because she refused to be associated with anything related with slash lmao. 

I tried my best to keep the peace between C, myself, and the rest of the fandom because ultimately I hate being in fandom drama. I just want everyone to have a good time. I’m a people pleaser. Unfortunately my newfound fame put me in the awkward position of being the most fandom popular person in our small community aside from C. Virtually every fan that read fanfics that came into our thread knew one of us or the other by reputation and C HATED this. Especially because people would come in to the thread, recognise me and go “oh my goodness I love your fanfics!” and I’d be super sweet with them and it’d lead into “I can’t believe how nice you are, I love you” which would lead to us crying at each other. This was not the kind of fan interaction that C got, no her fans were more kind that were there to praise her and worship her like a deity that had blessed them with some gift. Rarely did they tell her how kind she was. 

Back in the mid 2000s there were really commonly those commercials (usually by Christian organisations) asking people to sponsor say children in Africa or to help build schools or provide drinking water. You all probably know the ones; know the language that they used in those commercials. My fandom wife, who I suppose I shall call wifey because yes we were THAT couple back then, once said that C described her fics like those people described donating money to save the lives of Children in Africa. So we used to joke that her fics were so good they’d save lives in Africa. Looking back at it all, she almost had a very fundamentalist Christian approach to bringing people into her fanfics. She of course tried to get all the slash people into reading it. None of us read canon/oc fic mostly due to our poor treatment at the hands of their fans and creators. Getting fed up I one day told her that if she would read any one of my fanfics that I would read the entirety of her novels. Yes, I was willing to commit to read a couple 100k of canon/oc fanfic that I’d never touch normally if she would even read one of my 1k 1 shots. Heck, I had a fic even that shipped 2 minor characters so she didn’t even have to sully herself reading about one of the main characters. It was honestly a good deal in her favour. I kept this up until the day we all left the fandom. Sometimes I do wonder if her fics were even ¼ as good as she claimed, but I will never know because she refused to read my fics. 

She wasn’t all bad and a tyrant all the time. As long as people kept the conversations on track and didn’t come in to the thread saying things like “KAI IS SO HOT ND T3H BEST N I AM GUN 2 MARRY HIM” she stayed mostly civil. It was always hilarious watching InuYahsa or Naruto fans try to come in and bad mouth Beyblade because they’d unleash the dragon and C was great at chasing off undesirables in the thread. 

The real apex of goings on though on Gaia was the guild drama. So guilds were like exclusive themed mini forums within Gaia. Anyone could buy one and run it however they want, as long as it still adhered to Gaia’s ToS. C of course was the owner of the only Beyblade guild. The fandom wasn’t really big enough to support 2 guilds so we just kind of let it go. Technically she allowed people to post slash fanfics but like everything had to be explicitly tagged and there was absolutely no slash RP. Wifey and I controlled a handful of minor characters together in the forum RP and definitely used to try to push the boundaries a little bit. Some ambiguous flirting here, a stray comment there. It was such a fragile balance though because C was heavy on the ban button. The active portion of the guild was just people that were in the cult of C and worshipped her writing. 

Understandably the other slash fans and myself were getting disheartened by this. So we pooled our funds together and decided that we’d open a second guild that though it was run by slash fans we would welcome anyone into our ranks. We just wanted to have a fun place for everyone to hang out, and to hopefully run a few events out of. In hindsight, we should have seen what would happen. When we opened the guild, with me as the guild leader, it was like somebody blew up the whole dam protecting the delicate ecosystem we had cultivated. Every single person in the Gaia fandom that was not a zealous follower of C applied to be in our guild and left her guild. We of course figured that we’d attract some of the gen population but we did not expect to accidentally poach all of it. All of the moderators were getting messages from people thanking us for giving them a place where they could say whatever they wanted without fear of getting their faces ripped off or banned. 

C lost her shit. She was so mad that we went behind her back to ruin her guild. We literally had to show her posts in the very public slash thread that we had been planning this in public and that it was not to ruin her life. We just wanted a place where we could freely post slash. The two of us had some spicy comments back and forth and then she dropped an absolute bombshell on me. Since Gaia’s mail system is terrible I unfortunately no longer have exactly what she said but it was something along the lines of “Ok, you win. I’m going to close my guild.”. Us slash fans had never been doing this to win anything. We had never been competing. We just wanted a safe space to be ourselves. 

C never joined our guild. The fandom slowly faded out within the next year anyway. We weren’t getting new content so naturally people just drifted into other fandoms. C kept up with the main Beyblade thread for a lot longer than most of us but eventually that eventually faded into obscurity too. 

I learned a lot about fandom bullies from those days. But honestly the thing that stuck with me the most out of everything was that if you provide a positive safe space for people they will flock to it. It may seem like there are so many hostile people out there, but there really aren't. They're the minority but they just make sure that their voice is the loudest. The best way is to ignore them and just do your own thing. The bullies just want attention and if you don’t give it to them and prove to them that their opinion doesn’t matter to you then they’ll move in and find something else to yell at.

If you're still taking RD opinions here's mine. The Bughead fandom is as toxic as barchie. Especially for someone who multiships or has any criticism of Betty.

Oh, 100% you're right. Every fandom has toxic factions, and they become more obvious the larger the fandom gets (and by association the larger the toxic factions get in raw numbers, even if the percentage of the fandom they are stays the same). But I have seen some shit on bughead twitter, and there's of course the fact that the bughead fandom on twitter has harassed two or three actresses because their characters dared step within a six foot radius of Jughead, including sending death threats to Vanessa Morgan. There was z***** and her crew, but a.) she's not a bughead fan anymore and b.) she was always sectioned off into her own little quarantined section, so I don't really hold her against any fandom. There's the harassment of bughead multishippers, especially those who ship jabitha, and there have been multiple fics and hopeful speculations of Tabitha setting Betty and Jughead up/encouraging them to reconcile in a way that sets up a bughead reunion, just really using her just to prop up bughead (which, like, why would she try to get them back together when they both seem to be pained over their past relationship? Why would she, as their friend, want them back together when their break up fucked them up so bad? I only accept this when 1.) she knows they both still have feelings AND MORE IMPORTANTLY 2.) she wants them all to date and them reconciling is Step 2 of dating them (Step 1 being starting dating one or both of them herself) because then it's still at least partially about her (this would also require her and her relationships with them to be prominent in whatever story this is, btw, because bugabitha that's 90% bughead and 10% jabitha and babitha is not my jam)). Also, the way fandom plays down his attraction to three woc (Toni, Jessica, and Tabitha) by saying he's only ever been truly romantically interested in Betty (and mayyyyybe women who look eerily like her) is pretty gross, tbh. Also, stepping a single toe out of line, deviating even slightly from the accepted bughead wants and opinions, will get you hate.

Idk, every fandom has its trash aspects, including the bughead fandom, and it's important to own up to them.

Since you were a TVD and TO fan, what is your opinion on Klaroline?

So I’m a Klaus and Caroline multishipper. I always loved Steroline and Klamille a lot. I thought Klaroline had some amazing stand-alone scenes and that their chem is amazing, but I also wasn’t as obsessed as a lot of the fandom was. It has its toxic moments for certain, but if we are being fair, every single ship on Tvd has its toxic moments.

Then came them having Caroline guest star on the originals. Cami was dead, Stefan was dead. I ADORED Klaus by this point, and I think he had grown into a person I might actually have been able to see Care with realistically. I liked them more than before. And to me, if you aren’t going to make Klaroline endgame, why bring it back after so many years? It was like dangling a piece of chocolate over the shippers’ heads and then snatching it away completely unnecessarily.

I guess my short answer is I PROBABLY like steroline and klamille more if you hold a gun to my head, but Klaroline should have been endgame. If Klaroline had gotten long game more scenes on tvd rather than moving klaus to his own show I could have probably loved them even more.

Ok, so I haven't been able to comment much on my Riverdale rewatch mostly bc i'm watching it with my boyfriend and we have an agreement of no cell phones when we're watching, otherwise we can't pay proper attention to it. But I wrote down some notes about the episodes I did watch (I watched up until ep 6, which is very ironic bc apparently today is its anniversary, so yay for my perfect timing). I actually remember most of the stuff that happened in s1, so here's mostly a few things I paid more attention to or noticed about the characters and the ships, or things i'm able to look at through a different view now that i've watched all the seasons. Strap in if you want to see my notes, if not just scroll please, no ship or character hate here please. Also, feel free to ignore, this is really just a personal look in some stuff I didn't notice in my first watch.

- Betty's character used to be much happier and lighter in season 1. I know we're introduced to "Dark Betty" right in episode 3, but still, I feel like the way Lili played Betty in season 1 did not hold the same "darkness" as it does in the following seasons. The scene where she is dancing happily in her bedroom because she's going to homecoming with the boy she likes? The scene where she introduces Jughead to the Blue & Gold and gets him to work with her? Her genuine innocent happiness at seeing her sister again after so much time? The way she interacted with Kevin and Veronica? Those were all chef's kiss because she actually feels like a teenager in them. In all her girly glory, she radiates youth energy and it's a thing that was sadly lacking after s1. Btw this is not a critique at Lili's acting at all, I blame it entirely on Ras and his obsession with dark Betty.

- There's actually so many indications of Cheryl being a lgbt character in the first episodes that I have no idea how I missed it the first time. But then again, there were many indications with Veronica as well, and sadly that's not the path Ras chose for her.

- Jughead in s1 is truly so superior in so many ways that it's not hard to see why he quickly became such a fan favorite. I think even if he wasn't played by Cole Sprouse, he still would have conquered many fans' hearts. Sadly, the things that made Jughead such a loving and interesting character for me also fizzled out in s2 when the writing team decided to make him a woke serpent leader instead of allowing him to sticking to his true personality as a passionate mystery lover, a dedicated friend and very nerdy, which was very cute. I feel that we got some of that back for him in s4, which was good, but sadly s1 is where my love for him really stayed to stay. But I still care for him, and s5 has a promising storyline for him which i'm excited about, so let's see if s5 Jughead can become better than s1 Jughead.

- Going back again to Cheryl for a sec, I just noticed that the red lipstick actually wasn't that common for her in s1? At least not in the first five. I wonder when did it start becoming her trademark? Anyways, it's actually a really good look her and allows you to appreciate Madelaine's natural beauty even more.

- Also, did anybody notice how Alice lowkey figured out who killed Jason in ep 2 lmao, like... in episode two she legit says she wouldn't be surprised if the Blossoms themselves had killed Jason, which... is what happened LMAO, considering we know it was his father. And even more hilarious and tragically ironic note, in ep 6 she's laughing at Betty suggesting that Hal killed Jason because "do you think your father has the stomach for it?!"... Ma'am... i'm-.... 😂😂😂😂.

- This rewatch has reminded me of how much I adored and how I much I miss Josie and the Pussycats. The girls were such a nice addition to the cast, and their songs were so beautiful. I truly wish we get to see them again someday, but at the same time I also think the actresses deserve to be at a work place where they're given the treatment they deserve and not completely ignored and treated like extras.

- Archie/Valerie was super cute and is very underrated in the fandom, but i'm glad Valerie stood up for herself and didn't take any of Archie's or Cheryl's sh*t. Still sucks because they were really good together, though.

- Why was Jason not allowed to talk, lmao? Like, i'm sure it's become a running joke in the show at this point, but back when season one was airing what was the excuse for it? He appeared in so many flashbacks and scenes and we still never heard a single word ☠️☠️☠️☠️. I just want to know what was the reason lol.

- I liked s1 Reggie, but I feel like Charles Melton's Reggie is better because he actually feels like a douche with good intentions lol, and he has more of a personality. Most of the time I even forgot about Reggie in s1, but after s2 he definitely made me more aware of him. So for that, I like Charles Melton's Reggie more. But the actor from s1 still did a good job with what he was given.

From now on I will be talking about the ships, so bear with me, and know that I am a multishipper. Yes, I have my preferences. No, my word is not law, it's just an opinion, so please respect it.

- Bughead is still super cute in s1. I feel like from s1 they will always be my otp, even if I no longer feel as strongly about them now and have a different insight as to where I would like their story to go, and now I definitely see the problem others had mentioned before of how they kind of took over the show, which is something I kind of closed my eyes to before... But I really loved them in s1. It felt like a very juvenile teenage relationship, they didn't give much thought on why and if they should be together, they just went for it like teenagers usually do, and they were very very cute together.

- I feel like if you don't count Beronica (because they really were the best no matter what you say or ship), if there's a ship that deserves "best chemistry" award for s1 is probably Varchie. I lost my interest in them years ago, but this rewatch reminded me of why I actually loved them once. They never really became an otp for me, but Kj and Camila's chemistry in s1 was VERY GOOD, and I really liked them. Their kiss in the pilot was electric and the s&xual tension was OOF, and that chemistry carries on through the season. You can easily tell something will happen between them eventually. It makes me sad bc I don't know what happened after s1, but their chemistry from s2 onwards was just... not there for me. Which is ironic bc it's the season they truly started dating and they got a lot of smexy scenes, but I just... didn't feel it. But I'll leave that comment to my s2 rewatch. For now just let me enjoy Varchie's chemistry in s1 while it lasts because it was really good.

- Now we get to Barchie, who I made clear was the reason for my rewatch, so let's get to it. I LOVED the way Barchie was written in s1. I remember when I first watched Riverdale, I was curious about their dynamic but didn't put much thought into it because I loved Bughead too much and wanted them to be together, and I thought Barchie would be the traditional "first og ship" thing and wouldn't have a big follow up, but boy was I WRONG and am I GLAD for it. I'll talk more about their development in the next seasons when I get there, so for now let's focus a bit on s1. Just in like the first two episodes, there is so much Barchie foreshadowing, like, it's legit insane how it was right there in my face and I missed it the first time! "I have never felt what i'm supposed to feel with betty", "it's not my fault he doesn't like you", "I can't give you the answer you want"... Omg, those are obvious eyebrow raising "this will come back to bite you in the a$$" moments and it's incredible how they actually DO! I would call it clever writing, but like... it's Riverdale lol. So I really am just glad that the ship was done this way, i'm glad Barchie has the back story that they do, they've really come a LONG way and i'm happy I get to experience their whole growing storyline. It's also especially good because s1 actually provides you with scenes that show you their friendship and how they're so close, you see them hanging out, talking, their pictures together, everything was just really done well with them. Still have a bit of critique with the way Archie contradicted himself sometimes regardinf his feelings for Betty, but let's be honest, we've watched enough Riverdale to know that's just a problem with the writing.

- Kevin/Joaquin is still my favorite Kevin ship, i'm sad it's completely impossible to go back to them someday so for now i'll just be really glad it existed and that I got to see them even if it was short-lived. They had great chemistry and their kiss scenes always outsold.

- Beronica... sigh. Beronica. The most wasted chemistry i've ever seen on CW and I've watched a LOT of CW shows. There was so much potential there, s1 was practically overflowing with them and it's one of the reasons it became some popular. I remember when the Beronica fandom was the biggest one, ah, good times. Veronica and Betty were easily the best part of season 1, their friendship, their lowkey romantic moments, they were just superior in every way. This ship deserved better, not even just as a ship, but as a friendship.

- Veronica's s1 hair >>> Veronica's hair in seasons 2-4. I loved the side part and I am glad it's back in season 5, it looks so much better like that.

- Cheryl, as always, deserves better. Can't wait for her to meet Toni so I can watch again Cheryl finally get to love someone and be loved back, which is exactly what she deserves.

For now, that is all! I will probably make another post soon when i'm done with season one and from season two on I will be live-blogging the episodes since I will be watching it alone. Once again, pls, no hate, my thoughts are my thoughts. Peace.

10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?

Right now it’s Azula of course xD I’m a multishipper so any pair goes. I also like to read fics about Regina. Again, any pair goes but I usually enjoy Swan Queen the most. 

28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?

Pressure to update isn’t particularly bothersome to me. I can usually turn out something every other day. If I can’t it’s no big deal imo. I like to think that if the story is strong enough that people will be willing to wait if the author gets busy. Deadlines also don’t bother me too much, I tend to go ham and finish things days or weeks in advance (time permitting). 

Negative comments are another matter and there are various factors. It really comes down to exactly what is said. But if I’m already in a bad mood it can hit harder; tbh I’ve noticed a patter where I literally don’t get any negative comments until I’m already in a bad mood/feeling bad about my writing. Like literally every. single. time. Like I’ll go months without a bad review and then when I feel the worst I get one :v it’s like a law of nature or something. 

The other main thing though is exactly what is said. Most things I can brush or laugh off (especially if it’s a generic copy paste troll thing) but there have been a few times were someone just hit me with them soul crushing comments. And it’s like, “wow, rude.”

When I’m in the right mood for them I try to approach them with an open mind. Sometimes you can find something useful buried under the layers of audacity. I’ll bring up this comment again because it is the most recent and relevant example; 

It was extremely assholey but there was something to be taken out of it. I ended up showing an IRL friend my fic because he wanted to know what made someone that asshurt. And we kind of deduced that it wasn’t the portrayal of Azula’s abuse/emotional manipulation that was disrespectful but rather a matter of how intense and hopeless the situation seemed. In retrospect I think that it would have done the scene favors if Aang had at least attempted to help Azula instead of acting as a bystander. After recognizing this, I was able to write a scene where his hesitance was addressed and called out. I think that it made the story stronger. 

So I guess that you can say that, after an initial period of simmering hatred (which I try to keep to myself lol), I can generally approach even reviews like that with an open mind.

TL;DR sometimes it does pay off to pick your way through the bullshit and find reason and logic in a strongly worded, rudeass review.

This person is still an ass tho. Like they had a point. But still an ass. 

43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.

Oh gosh, there are several. I there are three moments that really stand out to me; the first was when I got my first regular reviewer. This person stated that he is in the military and that my fics helped get him through some tough times. And that means a lot to hear. 

The second was getting another regular reviewer. He told me that my fics were helping him learn English better and write stories of his own. He is one of the nicest people I have met and we still talk on discord a lot. Just a genuinely good person who is full of love and support. <3

Recently I got a reviewer who uses google translate to read my fics. And I use it to respond to their reviews. It’s a small thing but I just love how fanfiction and writing is able to bypass language barriers and connect people who you might otherwise not get a chance to talk to. 

And this review. I will never forget this review ever;

I have gotten many reviews but this one will always be the best. I hope that this person is doing well.

1) Oh gosh, I don’t even know how many works in progress I have right now. In terms of ongoing stories, just two at the moment, but I have so many oneshots that are unfinished.

5) Sanders Sides is my only current main fandom at the moment and a crack ship that’s currently growing on me is intruality. I feel like it’s a really interesting dynamic and it’s fun to imagine them together, but I’m a massive multishipper so I really enjoy all of the ships to some degree (except for the one that shall not be named)

10) This one’s a hard one! I’m gonna have to saw mutual pining just in terms of how much of it I read, but I do really enjoy enemies to friends to lovers.

20) Oh my goodness you don’t even know how many fanfic authors I adore! There are soooo many talented writers in the Sanders Sides fandom, so I’ll try and list all the ones that come to mind. I’ve been thinking of making a more comprehensive list of my favorite fics/fic writers, so I’ll probably do that soonish.

@whenisitenoughtrees / ao3 link Every single fic is top tier. You gotta read “i picture it, soft, and i ache,” “look me up and define me (please remind me),” “you’ve got that young blood (set it free),” and “infinity and beyond.” The characterizations and detail is always immaculate.

@saintpyrite / ao3 link I’m currently incredibly obsessed with the fic “Choking on Rosaries and Wine.” It was the thing that really won me over to intruality as a ship, and all of his other writing is absolutely fantastic. 

@nadiestar / ao3 link Mim’s writing is so good! I need to read more of it because it’s fantastic. Also, they are one of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with on the internet! “Losing Sight,” is a oneshot that’ll make you cry, it’s fantastic, and they do podfics too! 

@subtlereferencetomyinterests / ao3 link Wae’s writing is just, *chefs kiss*, perfection. Their writing was what warmed me up to dukexiety as a ship. I recommend “I Like You, Say It Back,” “A Study in the Pains of Romance as a Genre” and “Hypothetically,” (Oh my gosh, Hypothetically, is one of the first intrulogical oneshots I ever read! It’s so good!!!)

God. I’ve written a couple of Academy Era (focused on the Deca) crack fanfics and I still have to translate them to English. They’re pure garbage but I love them. I have a lot of fun writing crack fics because they’re easier and I can ignore whatever piece of canon I want just for the laughs

I had definitively forgotten about supernatural until I saw it all over my dashboard in the year of our lord 2020 lmao like in my wholock days I tried to watch the show because everyone on my dash (is it still called dashboard?) was talking about it and I watched about 8 episodes before dropping it. But seeing it again on the dash was actually a happy surprise because the memes are too funny hahaha

I’m extremely shy irl and on the internet as well but I wanna say that  @janeturenne is one of the best authors ever and her fanfics are a blessing in my life; also @thebraxiatelcollection who brings awesome content to my dash and is also one of the best authors. Uhhh I guess I’m neutral about the current companions. They’re not my favorites but I don’t really dislike them - they had a lot of potential and chibs came up with some good storylines but did not develop them well in my opinion. I think Graham is a fun grandpa whom I’m going to miss when he leaves; Ryan is cool and could’ve done a lot more if the writers had kept a few things, it’d be awesome if he vlogged all of their adventures. He’s like the one I was curious to see more but sadly didn’t feel a connection; and Yaz, I hope she’ll keep growing and that her friendship with the Doctor will finally be developed to a level we can connect to her.

It sounds weird because with the fam it’s always ‘what I wish could have been’ because I never felt really connected to them :(

Ok... I don’t really ship Rey/Finn but I think it’s one of the sweetest ships ever, and if they ended up together I’d be happy. They love each other and are there for each other always so, yeah :D

I don’t know if I got the question right but it’s three things I wish I saw more in my main fandom? Well, if it’s that, then, 3 things about the Doctor Who fandom: 1) people having more civilized or light-hearted discussions about things. Like, I genuinely disliked an 8th doctor audio I listened once that my friends loved, and they made fun of me and we joked about it. Also once we were in a live twitch video playing among us and discussing doctor who, and then we got into a ship “discourse” as a joke and nobody really cared and just laughed because everyone knew it’s fictional shit so why get mad over it? 2) Doctor Who has a titanic amount of content, it’s all canon but at the same time it’s not, so who cares? If you want to listen to Big Finish audios and if you can afford it, then lisiten; if you can’t, it’s okay, no one has the right to tell you you’re less of a fan. Just tell them to fuck off; 3) The best way to keep fandom alive is by creating content. Here in my local fandom we have several podcasts dedicated to all areas of the whoniverse (the show, the expanded universe, the audios, etc), those old fandom websites who do serious work to bring news to the fans, people who make subtitles for the classic series (we don’t have it available here so they do their best to make it accessible to other fans), accounts dedicated to promoting dr who fans who create content, and we even have people making their own audiodramas with dw characters and writing book-lenght fanfiction to help explain the show to people who’ve never watched it, and a great variety of things. I’ve seen a few of these things in the international fandom, mostly by older fans, so I wish younger fans about my age who have the means to make this kind of stuff would make it too. Maybe there’d be less twitter drama out there lol

I’m gonna be bold and say that when he was young, still Koschei, he was an artist, and thought about dropping everything to become an actor on Gallifrey. Time Lords do appreciate art, and have their own plays, but it’s just the same old and boring ones the young people don’t care about. The Master then created a shocking performance that was way ahead of its time and the older Time Lords were so appalled they banned him from writing and presenting plays and that’s his villain origin story

All the hot takes about how ‘’lena is too good for kara’’ and all that hate kara has been suffering from ‘’supercorps’’ who are just in fact lena stans and want her to bang with every woman on the show are exactly what the showrunners want. they are both behaving like stupid teenagers because once again jessica queller & co want to sabotage Kara and Lena as individuals and as a ship. It happened in season 3. They almost turned Kara into a cheater. They gave Kara’s real personality to James. And it’s happening again. If you dont see it and goes on with your rants you are giving the showrunners of this show way too much power. Much power they already have. So you are not woke if you rant about how Kara is the devil reincarnated and Lena doesnt deserve her and you want Lena to get back at S*m in Metropolis. You are just not seeing the big picture here, which is: JQ and the Staff want all of you to like just Lena so they can shove Kara, a character they HATE, into the most stupid and blandest relantionship that the arr*wverse has ever created besideds k*r*m*l. 

Anyways, Supercorps who understand both Kara and Lena, arent multishippers and are ALSO Kara stans deserve to speak up a little more. SC!Kara stans are always the weakest link and can’t say shit without people going into their mentions or tumblr asks saying ‘’its not that deep’’. We understand Lena, even though her actions are a little ooc. Yall dont see us calling her a c*nt or saying she deserves jailtime but i have seen a lot of Kara hate from my own fandom, people calling Kara a c*nt, saying they never wanted to see a hero dying more than they want her to die, saying she isn’t worthy of Lena, saying Katie should just give up on the show (yall do love to see your favorite actress unemployed that much, u?) and saying Lena should just get in a plane straight to Metropolis when in reality what needs to happen on the show is: they need to sit the f*ck down and talk about their feelings. 

We need to see them going to therapy (Kelly can recommend someone) and we need to see them healing. And rebuilding their relantionship. 

The show is nothing without Supercorp anymore, they cemented it with the 100 ep. Every single character acts dumb or doesnt even appear in the episodes anymore because Kara and Lena are at the odds with each other. 

They (the showrunners) make lesbians characters fangirl about men’s doing the bare minimum on the show. So PLEASE, stop giving the showrunners the satisfaction. Think a little. Hating Kara isn’t the hot take yall think it is and can we really blame Kr*ms for saying or fandom only cares about Lena when yall behave like this?

So, after a long conversation with super-powerful-queen-slaynna, whom you can thank for me sending this message, so like... if you like it good, if you don't blame them, I do want to apologize for assuming you were saying people can't talk about Destiel, its shippers and how much they dislike it in their group chats. That's what the post came off to me, as if you were policing what people could and couldn't say in these GC about Destiel. Slaynna made me realiza that you meant your post as a 1/2

warning to Destiel shippers who might wander into them. I understand this, because whenever a Destiel shipper follows me, I make it a point to warn them my blog might not be a positive space for them precisely to avoid this sort of unplesant interactions. It also came off as you were invalidating and dismissing the bad experiences people might have had with misbehaving Destiel shippers, which I'm sure you're nice enough NOT to do. My beef is really not with you, or Tink, or any other Destiel 2/?

meta writer, my beef is with shippers who are genuinely hateful and do hateful things. You simply came off as you didn't believe there are Destiel shippers who do these things at all. That say, I won't apologize for venting to like-minded people about my utter dislike for the ship, because we do in fact do that. Okay, I’ll give you pointers for being bold enough to come explain this in my ask box, and I commend @super-powerful-queen-slayyna for reaching out to try to calm the stormy seas. I am most likely not going to make any further comments on that post anyway because it has blown out of control and has escalated into a full blown ship war post which I never wanted when I sent it. It’s now Destiel shippers and my friends trying to defend me or people blatantly calling me names and using unnecessary language which I am not even going to acknowledge or give the time of day as I don’t go in for that sort of childish name calling (unless you count my use of the word bronly but some things I think even we can agree are a necessary evil).

My post was a response to my own hurt and irritation at coming across two GCs, one for Sastiel, and one for Megstiel, which were both recommended to me by Tumblr, which were not tagged as anti-Destiel that I could see, that appeared on the surface to simply be places for people to discuss and squee over those ships. In both GCs I saw nothing but hate and lies and other upsetting comments about Destiel and Destiel shippers. It was extremely disheartening to see that in what on the surface appeared to be safe spaces. Because here’s the thing, these shipper GCs should be safe spaces. I have friends that are multishippers, that like Sastiel (and even the odd few who like Megstiel even though admittedly I don’t anymore.) There are plenty of other people out there in fandom that might like all three ships (I’d imagine those people simply want Cas to have all the love in which case SAME). 

To get one point very clear, I don’t actually care if people hate Destiel. I’m not going to preach to anyone about Destiel unless someone comes to me directly or comes scrolling my blog. I always tag Destiel so anyone who uses Tumblr blacklist should be able to avoid my blog completely. I would never intentionally go looking in an anti Destiel chat group. I’ve seen it all before anyway and it’s the same old arguments that really don’t affect my shipping preferences or my beliefs. 

What annoyed me was that those GCs were not anti Destiel chats. They were Megstiel and Sastiel chats. They were places where impressionable young Megstiel and Sastiel shippers could come across, who have zero feelings towards Destiel, and find themselves being told a bunch of lies and nasty crap about Destiel shippers and the ship. They are places where Destiel shippers who like to ship those other ships too might come across and suddenly find themselves isolated and alienated, which only perpetuates retaliation from those Destiel shippers and potentially causes the hate that you stress is so virulent among Destiel shippers to begin with.

My post was a warning for multishippers who are also Destiel shippers or at least Destiel friendly, that those GCs were being used to spread hate about Destiel. It was also an FYI to the people in those GCs that their hatred was very much public, in case they weren’t aware. I tagged the ships because I wanted people who ship Megstiel and Sastiel to see it, especially if they are Destiel friendly, because yeah, I’d want them to avoid those GCs.

Yes I then got snarky. I claimed that this does kinda prove a point because no Destiel GC that I’ve seen includes a bunch of hate and nastiness aimed at other ships. Sure, there is a high chance that there are hateful Destiel shippers out there. There are certainly a lot of bitter people on Twitter who piss me off when they scream queerbaiting at the writers so yes, of course there are bad eggs. I was shocked that from what I saw, there was no squee or shared theories or excitement about the ships, just page after page of hate aimed at Destiel shippers. So yes, perhaps I happened upon both convos right when those topics cropped up (which would be rather coincidental) and perhaps I had just missed the topics that I was interested in checking out - the theories, the meta, the spec... That’s what I was interested in. Since these GCs are a way to keep a finger on the pulse of what the fandom might be thinking in terms of the show and shipping and I was curious. Believe it or not I actually like to keep an open mind even though Megstiel is something that gives me a bad taste in my mouth ever since I sat myself down and truly thought about it. 

I generalised. I know I shouldn’t have done that, but those GC convos pissed me off. I don’t know a single Destiel shipper who would spend hours of their day just ranting about how awful Megstiel shippers are and how much they hate the pairing. I HAVE debated with friends about the suspected infiltration of the Megstiel ship by Bronlies who are using Meg to get Cas out of the way and to be spiteful towards Destiel shippers. This IS something that has been happening in recent years and I think even you admitted that in one of your replies to my post.

I also wasn’t trying to invalidate your experience with hate. I would never do that. The one thing I will say about anon hate in particular is that you don’t know who it is coming from. I occasionally get anon hate but I certainly don’t immediately assume it’s a w*ncest shipper just because I can’t stand w*ncest. Getting a message in your ask box that says “go kill yourself” is horrible, believe me, I know. But if that’s all it is, you can’t assume the sender was a shipper at all. Unless the message was “I ship Destiel and you can go kill yourself” you just can’t assume. If you have had actual Destiel shippers come and attack and threaten you and send you those messages directly then 1. I am so so sorry because no one deserves that kind of abuse, and 2. I hope you exposed them if you could. Because if there is one thing I have learnt about the Destiel shippers in MY circles, it’s that we find that kind of behaviour completely unacceptable and we WILL call it out from our own side if we see it. 

The reason I have such a high opinion of Destiel shippers being the “nice” people in fandom is simply because I have never seen that kind of behaviour from them. I interact with a lot of people. I have seen Destiel shippers get overly passionate, I have seen them get upset and angry when people lash out at them. I have seen them turn bitter and negative and go off on rants about the show. I have seen them dog pile on an anti’s post to provide evidence against a false claim “Kripke said he’s straight” and I thought it was a bit much... but it wasn’t hate. It was a reaction to years and years and years of being laughed at, called delusional, mocked and ridiculed by all other sides within the fandom. Destiel shippers are desperate for validation. They are desperate to disprove the lies. If people actually listened to us, or read the countless posts that have been written clearly providing evidence and sources to disprove every lie and false claim against Destiel perhaps we wouldn’t be so defensive. That’s what happens when you’ve been gaslighted for 11 years. 

But regardless, I’m not here to get involved in shipping wars. You’ll continue going on hating Destiel, and I will continue going on and, well, not hating, but very much disliking Megstiel in canon (though I have read some very sweet Destiel fics where Meg is Cas’s best friend and enjoyed the characterisations there.) 

My post was never to gatekeep and stop you from ranting about Destiel. Rant away to your hearts content. As I said above I really don’t care if people hate it. All I ask, is that you keep that kind of content in places that are clearly labelled as anti Destiel. So that should a Destiel shipper want to check out a Sastiel or a Megstiel GC, they can do, without feeling completely unwelcome and hated on just for enjoying Dean and Cas’s relationship as well. I really don’t think that’s too much to ask. All it takes is one tag right? Create your Megstiel GC and by all means rant about Destiel in it, but please just tag it as Anti Destiel.
