This is the piece I contributed to 華胥之國, a private DragonFox anthology I was invited to. You can see the other participant works by browsing this hashtag on Twitter or visiting the project account here!

I was checking some emotional responses for Laios and was curious if he ever cries at all or if he’s full cold sweat/upset expression guy… I don’t believe he ever full cries but he does very slightly tear up both times Falin is revived :’)

So here I am, minding my business on the clock app when this comes across my FYP.
People like me cannot have this information. The temptation is simply too great.

look I'm sorry but if you didn't notice that your boyfriend was complete crap before you went to the barbie movie and THAT very basic conversation about feminism was what did your relationship with him in, maybe you need to take some time to evaluate why you missed all the warning signs before hand. why did you stay with someone who straight up couldn't handle a barebones "women have it bad" message? what attracted you to a man who most likely was already spouting very misogynistic bullshit who obviously has a bad relationship with their masculinity that the ken's were offensive?
peace and love but like I think those girls who "had their relationships ruined by the barbie movie" need to take some time to be single

Ok I'm seeing some Dung Eater discussion on the TL and it made me realize something kind of funny about him.
He absolutely could murder you the entire time he is there. He even says so himself. Yet he does not, because he doesn't wish to disturb the serenity of the Roundtable Hold. He is respectable enough to not kill and defile every single person in the hold despite being more than capable of doing so. And no, he is not just doing so because he literally can't...
We know this because another madman residing in the Roundtable can and WILL kill you despite being in its walls. Alberich has absolutely zero qualms with breaking the hold's rules, and it's very funny considering he is polite enough to do a reverential bow every time you come down where he dwells.
Dung Eater might be absolutely deranged but you can't say he doesn't have proper etiquette lmao.

It's really odd to realize that the passivity I hold toward my own self-destruction isn't, as I thought it to be, ingrained into my soul and fate itself, but it's a product of outside forces which themselves were passive toward my destruction. It's odd, because I accepted that my self-destruction was an inevitable consequence of me being alive, being myself, and I never once questioned that because it was reinforced by outside forces. I accepted this "fact," and then engaged in self-destruction even after I was freed from the abusive situations I was in, and it feels almost... sacrilegious to rebel against the "truth."
The passivity you hold toward your own self-destruction is not, in fact, ingrained, staining your very soul. It is not fated that you are to "deserve" harsh, unfair, and cruel treatment, and it is not a natural consequence of you being you. You deserve so much.

A fic!
Summary:
It's Stone Monkey's first night with his new troop. Except the troop doesn't see how this is their problem.
Alternatively: The Six-Eared Macaque teaches the Little Stone Monkey how to build a nest. Some things are more than instinct; some things require a little care.
