No okay bcuz actually I DO want to explain my thoughts from this post here because I love analyzing things and I think talking abt Vox's relationships thru the lens of "this is just like Buffy fr fr" could be fun :)

FIRST OFF: VoxVal as Spike & Drusilla. I do not know their ship name and tbh I'm probably never gonna talk about them again so whooooo cares. To state the obvious, in this situation Vox is Spike and Val is Dru. Now, it's been awhile since I've watched Buffy, but from what I remember, Spike & Drusilla really are THE toxic villain couple, in that they're both like. Not very good to or for eachother, all things considered, but goddamnit they love eachother SO MUCH- which really is the generous interpretation of Staticmoth. I'm not gonna go super in depth into the fucking. Is Staticmoth abusive debate rn. Because I have one million other posts that make my stance on that pretty clear I think. But the uh... nicer interpretation of their relationship is very much Spike & Drusilla I think. Like right down to the headcannon of Vox liking how Val's shit eyesight & temper tantrums makes him kind of dependent on him. Again, could be misremembering, but based off of how Spike was w/ Dru while she was weakened(and based off of how he rebounded w/ Harmony of all people 💀), I get the distinct vibe that, despite his frustrations, Spike did like having somebody relying on him the way Dru(and later Harmony) did. Vox def seems like the type of guy that would get a kick out of feeling Needed and Relied On(why else would he literally route the entire Pride rings power grid through himself-), and Valentino is. Well. Valentino. I'm not gonna go over their interaction before Stayed Gone because it makes me ~genuinely uncomfortable~ for reasons I have, once again, gone into in depth before, but suffice it to say that it's definitely in character for Vox to be into Val relying on him like that. Oh also, like somebody pointed out in the reblogs on the original post, the reason Spike & Dru broke up from s3 all the way to their reunion in s5 is that she cheated on him and that's. Yeah that sounds about right.

And second, the Staticradio twins: Spuffy and Spangel. Why the fuck did I call them the Staticradio twins? I don't know I'm tired as shit and just used most of my brain power on the VoxVal segment now get off my back- anyways, these two are actually pretty easy to explain so I'll just get right into it! Most of the similarities between Staticradio and Spuffy can really be summed up in the song Reat In Peace from Buffy's musical episode. One-sided, obsessive crush on someone who you know deep down will probably never reciprocate. You want them to just leave you the fuck alone and stay gone(hahahahahahahahah), but they just. Aren't. Like even the bits about being a dead guy without a heart beat are spot on because Vox is a motherfuckin DEMON who is a ROBOT!!!!!!! Also the Alastor Body Pillow fanon(which IS fanon. It is. I'm sorry to say but that wasn't a thing on the Instagrams y'all-) does line up with the uh. The Buffy sex bot- it does line up with the Buffy sex bot. Anyways moving on to the Spangel section-

"You were my sire man!" - Spike, to Angel, in his introduction episode. I don't remember if this was retconned in season 5(or 6?) to be Dru siring Spike? It might've been. But for the sake of this post lets pretend it wasn't. Angel was basically Spike's mentor for a lot of their time together pre-show. They ran around in their weird little vampire polycule causing problems for everyone and life was good! Then Angel got cursed. Bro got a soul and then ran away for years without a word to anyone. Then, cut to current day, and Spike is hyped to see him right up to the point he realizes Angel has Changed. And from that point onward to two are RIVALS!!!!! Narrative foils, even. And while it isn't exactly the same as Alastor and Vox's history, it's pretty damn similar right!? Al was(presumably) Vox's friend and mentor for YEARS, like to the point of being comfortable taking a picture with him. Then something happens between them, causing a rivalry to form. Throw somewhere in the mix Al's deal & him fucking off for 7 years... it's like the same pieces being put together in a new way to make a different puzzle. Is Rosie Darla in this analogy? Unclear. Val is still Dru though. Do y'all get where I'm coming from? It's far, FAR from the same thing, like there are so many fucking differences and that's just going off of the stuff we DO know(I want to know more god I can't wait for season 2-), but the dynamics ARE similar. They're narrative foils with a deep history w/ eachother where they were probably-definitely friends, something caused them to become RIVALS, and also one of them is cursed and dissappeared for several years-

Whoo boy this got kinda incoherent- Anyways, that brings me to my brand new fun and interesting point: Vox and Spike are kinda similar characters. They're both antagonists who wanna be Big Tough Scary guys so bad, and like. They are. They are big tough AND scary. Sometimes. But for the vast majority of their screen time, their emotions, capacity for love(no matter how twisted their version of love is), and the consequences of that love going wrong continually get the better of them and cause them to look to us, the audience, like silly pathetic wet cats we found on the side of the road. Then they get Weird about it(Vox's "rivalry" w/ Angel and the. Buffy sex bot.) and we remember oh yeah this guy is EVIL! They also both wear long jackets and are bisexual :)

I feel like a blood sacrifice should've been made to wake up the nemeton again bc it goes dormant after a few years when nothing happens to it as we've seen countless times before, also this is necromancy so it should be a darker ritual. Like the ground where she died & the weapon that killed her is great but there should've been more steps & it should've been more complicated. If there's anything I've learned from the numerous fantasy shows I've watched is that magic like that always comes with a price

I also love how it wasn't automatic, it took a few seconds. Maybe it would've been better though if she didn't come back to after they actually left and so Harris finds her without her memories and manipulates her by lying to her. Meanwhile the pack is grieving again and questioning why it didn't work

Also I forgot to say this, when Mr. Harris popped up in Liam & Hikari's restaurant I immediately thought "Ariana what are you doing here?😂"

Love how Allison came out looking 30, with her hair having grown out, and her makeup and nails done. Sis was really at the spa, not Bardo 💅 why y'all interrupted her, she was on a much needed spa retreat bc dying is so stressful

Also why didn't we just use this ritual to bring other people back?

Is she alive though, or is she still in just a state between life and death,, what if now her physical body us here but part of her subconscious is still over there? *gasp* then maybe we can talk to other ghosts through her if she gives up control of her body sometimes. Omg that would be a coll concept for another movie, someone taking over her subconscious

Sometimes she's her, and sometimes she's not, but regardless she doesn't have all of her memories

hii bestie! do you think Rita will make a comeback on season 24? personally, I think not, after what she said in her latest episode (22x06) and (kinda) the way she acted, I feel like she won’t step into the svu again :(

Okay bestie. I had to tug out the laptop cause I have a LOT to say on the matter of her s22 ep. (though we're not gonna discuss how the make up & wardrobe dept did her dirty, i have an entire other essay on that...)ya again. I do truly believe that she was supposed to be on the For The Defense show, I *know* Buchanan was based on a few interactions with Delaney on twitter. and we all know that Rita is a popular character/defense attorney, so i will forever be salty that they decided to pull the plug on that show cause it had SO MUCH potential and so many opportunities to have a rotating cast each week so we could see all of our favourite lawyers return in some way.

When it comes down to it, it's all about Beth's availability. if she signs onto something that's filming in LA or Atlanta or something, she's not going to be around to take part, which sucks. But homegirl LOVES to work, so she's constantly doing something, she's got two or three things I think in post production, and one that she was just announced as part of, I think it was tv/limited series, I can't remember now. Gimmie 5 seconds to google.... it's a show on Peacock, so probably limited. I think that she has a good rapport with the svu cast & crew, and is probably welcomed back each time they have her. She also got a name drop in the finale (though I do think that was WL's way of saying goodbye to characters he'd brought to life, like, because he was leaving).

We also have a new showrunner to contend with, what direction they want things to go and what the focus is might change. I think we have a decent chance of seeing Rita grace our screens again this season. Barba returned twice, Pippa returned once, and would have been twice but Ms Phillips was in LA filming WWK, so yeah. long story short, there's lots to deal with behind the scenes that determine who we see guest star wise.

NOW, let's address the long arm of the witness itself:

check THIS out too, a post in which me, the film/acting school nerd I am who over analyzes everything I watch, discusses the episode and Ms Marvel's performance/changes in characterization of Rita. I'll probably repeat a couple of points here too. just fyi (also "SSS" is Serendipitous Secrets & Surprises, a fic I wrote that's kind of a fix it fic for s22 Rita's appearance. and also how I would go about reintroducing certain characters before spinning off to a lawyer centered show...and that was written before FTD was announced and then scrapped...)

Even with what she said to Liv in the elevator, and the suspicion that she was assaulted, there are plenty of ways for her to come back to SVU.

First, and what's likely to happen: the writers will ignore it/forget about it and pretend like it never happened. (I say this because look at Pippa, they had the entire Hank thing go down, he went to jail for 4yrs, and it's a one line call back that Amanda says something about it when Pippa picks up the case. By s22, Hank was OUT of prison, they REALLY could and should have had some kind of follow up arc with him, Pippa, the squad, whatever. She also wasn't wearing a ring in s22 so I'm going with the hc that she defs divorced him in the end)

Second: Rita comes back as defense on a case, Liv tries to bring it up, or says something about Gallagher, Rita brushes it off all "you've been at this job to long Liv, not everyone's a victim" (stop it, stop it, you're putting fic ideas in my head...)

Third: Rita returns, but on the other side of the table, she's the victim. Or she admits to being a victim when she ends up a witness in a case. Liv mentions the elevator scene and Rita admits she was looking for someone to figure it out themselves, she didn't want to admit it to someone else cause she couldn't admit it to herself, she had to be strong, wanted to prove she "wasn't a victim" kinda thing. THIS could also VERY EASILY work right into canon cause I believe Gallagher was only sentenced to a year or two? So it could be that they revisit it at a parole hearing, which Rita would be present at, but out of the blue, she makes a shocking statement that she doesn't think he deserves parole and resigns as his attorney because she can no longer uphold his reputation as she was one of his victims too. (svu writers, please see this, please just fucking hire me already...)

I do lowkey think that Rita was one of Gallagher's victims, they're only a year apart, and they both went to Harvard. We know that he had multiple victims at Fordham before he went to law school, so like, duh, he still out there assaulting people through his whole life. We also know that Rita started out in prosecution, and then swapped to defense, and I don't think money was the reason (she just gives off rich family vibes okay). So what was her reasoning behind that? I personally believe it could be because she was assaulted in college, and started to feel like she couldn't advocate for the victims because she couldn't advocate for herself. It also could be that Chip was defense and she kept having to go up against him and that felt like an assault all over again each time.

I touch on it in the other linked post, but I do think they were setting Rita up to take the Nikki Staines arc in s20, like, not identical to it, but very similar, but then Beth got signed on for HOC & Homeland and wasn't available.

Anyways. Welcome to what happens when you ask a theory Rita question on my blog LOL.

TL;DR: it really all comes down to scheduling and if Beth's free to appear when they want her or not, but I would think they'd have no reason to not bring her back

Feb ‘24 Refine Review

Reginn’s not getting the movement buffs or Canto I expected. Instead, she’s getting more stuff than the B slot has. Atk/Spd penalty neutralize is in Flow Push. She gets full NFU. Instead of a conditional true damage based on Spd, it’s fixed at 20%, which is still a lot. It makes up for the lack of DR piercing (at least on a F2P). She also got the DR buff that effects Brave Attacks.

I was close with Triandra. No Exposure but damage after combat like Pain staff is what I had, just not 10 damage, but 7. She is also inflicting penalties during combat rather than receiving buffs during combat. The Def/Res-5 to foes is still in cardinal direction, not 3 columns and row centered.

Mini! Caeda is still only effective against colorless bows, not colored bows, ha. Along with that is NFU, a 90% Vantage, Canto(2) (which was something I had on my early draft, grr), and a bonus to Atk/Spd = to allies within 3 spaces (rather than my “penalty on foes = her visible Spd), and that same DR that Reginn has, plus +8 to all stats. A worthy upgrade to make up for a bad perf b-slot. Still, you can ask PheonixMaster1 or your preferred FEH-tuber what to replace it with.

Bernadetta’s refine is great. She got the 1 damage to herself and allies at the start of turn, like her seasonal alts, but also got Special cooldown count-1, a pre-charge. She then gets Special cooldown charge +1 during combat. This is a good replacement to Accelerate Special Trigger. But then, she gets, what is effectively, Atk/Spd Brazen but incrementally. It’s odd, because it requires her to have lost 5 HP at the start of the turn to get the max of 20 Atk/Spd in total during combat. In her first encounter, because of the 1 point in damage, she gets 12 Atk/Spd. Then, because of Atk/Spd Push 4, she gets the 5 points of damage, and then gets the Max for the rest of the game. If she’s attacking twice in a row and triggering a 3 charge Special (like Deadeye) on the second hit, that’s going to be a lot of damage. Additionally, she doesn't have NFU, just a guaranteed follow-up, to bypass prevented follow-ups. Now, if Brave! Bernadetta gets proper Vengeance, be that like Owain’s weapon or a new inheritable buffed up Vengeance, then were taking.

Rinkah is doing good as well. Her gimmick is countering like Hans, powering up her next attack by the damage she absorbs from DR. The trick here is that the weapon has two forms of DR, the 40% on first attack(s) and 15% of her Def, also on first attack(s), along with any other DR she can inherit. She has 50 Def with her weapon and 41 base Def. 15% is 7.5. If the foe is dealing 40 damage, you subtract 7, multiply by 40%, add back the 7, and she will deal 20 additional damage on the follow up. I guess she is supposed to defeat the foe on the boosted Bonfire (Or No Quarter) before they follow-up. Oh, and the 7 HP healing on hit is great too.

Alright, what does Fiora do? +8 to all stat, NFU, Dragon Wall(?), Tempo, what’s this? “If unit’s attack can trigger unit’s Special and unit’s Spd + Res > foe’s Spd+Res-5 during combat (excluding effects from [Phantom])-oh okay, we are now removing the effects of Phantom Spd and Phantom Res in weapons now, great, it was a mistake to give it to tier 4 Dodge skills, it should have just worked like the above condition, “If unit’s Spd > foe’s Spd –7, reduces damage by percentage = (unit’s Spd + 7 – foe’s Spd) x 5 (max 50%)” Okay, tangent over, what happens when she wins that condition? OH! Special Cooldown –2 before unit’s first attack, a Special Jump?! So, she can trigger Moonbow when she initiates combat, or trigger Iceberg on her follow-up, thanks to NFU + Tempo. She could do Glacier when the foe initiates combat, since Dragon Wall + Pegasus Flight can cover you. Oh, she gets 7 HP healing after combat, to counter the Fury in her kit. Yeah, she is worth her 4-star special rate now.

Finally, ASHNARD! Remember how I said, “They can’t just make his Rein effect have Guard in it, that’s a mythic thing.” WRONG! And there’s more! His Rein is now a 4-tile radius, now inflicting Atk/Def-5, Special cooldown charge –1, neutralize Atk/Def bonuses, and prevent follow-up attacks. Not only is all of this unconditional to Ashnard; the dude just gives his allies the kit of an Arcane weapon. The second part is pitiful in comparison, but you can still use it. It’s like Atk/Def - 10/13 on foe and 30% DR during combat. So, yeah, incredible supportive, and a flying tank to boot.

I'm so happy that I helped make your watching experience more enjoyable!🥺🥺🥺 I'm glad you enjoyed the ending. When the ending first came out, it was polarizing because people didn't feel we had enough time with the mother, but for me it was about second chances. Not just for Robin and Ted, but also Ted in general after he lost the mother. Do you have any favorite scenes? Honestly, what used to happen when it was on streaming is I would only watch my favorite scenes, start in the middle of the series, and eventually get sucked into whole episodes until I watched it until the end. lol Who do you think Ted's best girlfriend was?

Hmm Victoria immediately popped into my head? But, even tho it’s boring, I think for me it’s between Robin and Tracy (Tracey?). At some point I just didn’t want Ted to meet the mother because I wanted him and Robin to be together lol (and I wasn’t sure if I remembered right that they still end up together). But I love Tracy sooo much I think they managed to give her so much personality and make her sooo fucking loveable even tho we got so little of her. (The personality bit was probably not too hard anyway bc 75% of it is the same as Ted shssks). So yeah I love Robin and Tracy the most 😌 what about you? 👀 (although Robin had some annoying traits for sure but i love her, i do)

But I get why people wanted more of the mother but personally I think it was perfect. I mean the daughter even says it herself at the end, when she was like “you’ve barely told us about mom lol this is just about Robin isn’t it?” Like you said it’s about second chances and I also love that🥰 omg i wanna know if they planned that from the start tho? 👀 that he’d end up w robin? ahhh i just realised i can read allll the stuff there is about himym on the internet bc no one can spoil stuff anymore 😌

I recorded so many scenes on my phone when I was watching it sksjsh (i mean i was watching on our tv and took the video on my phone lol). I bet i have multiple hours on there 😭 one thing that i think about daily is the new years eve episode in season two i think? Where they’re in the limo and they lose Marshall and Lily’s calling out for him and then that bon jovi song is on and marshall comes running towards Lily and like emerges from smoke/mist skshsjs it’s so funny and ridiculous but somehow gives me goosebumps 💀💀 shekshhs but yeah i love that. That’s probably not the type of scene you were talking about but omg i love it it’s so funny to me idk. Okay wait i found it i’m talking about this; (will delete later) and don’t mind the language lol that was before i figured out (or decided? Idr) i could watch it in english shsjs (omg, having watched the last like 5 seasons or so in english, their voices sound so horrible in german😭)

So I have at least a few hours of random himym scenes that were funny on my phone shsksh

I’ll def watch it whenever it’s on on tv randomly but also i’ll watch it beginning to end as well!

Magnum PI 4.13 - Judge Me Not review

He RESTOCKED his fridge for her (and they got a beer and movie rain-check-date...)

Maya STOLE the freaking episode. Well, parts of it.

Those are my two big take aways from this episode.

I mean obviously other things, but yeah FRIDGE and MAYA are basically the big things here. But lets start with the case and the guys+ Kumu being awesome.

Case this week

Judge Rachel Park being blackmailed to throw a murder case. She still be all ‘I’m gonna do the right thing no matter what’ and I loved that we got a reference to Magnum refusing to testify and being (in) trouble while Higgy was in Kenya. And that this was what landed them this gig! See, it pays to be the most goodest (yes, that’s a word...) and loyal PI around!

(Side note: I spent the whole episode just being like: I know this lady, where do I know her from. And as it turns out she was on three episodes of Burn Notice back in 2009 and apparently that’s all it takes for me to remember a face ten years later...oops 13 years? where did time go...)

Anyways liked the case. And the ending. A judge admitting to having worked as an escort feels like (in America) it would be a career killer. But this is TV and we can be accepting and glad she did that, making sure no one can blackmail her again and being a role model and inspiration for women having to make choices they wouldn’t otherwise, showing they can have a different future.

Higgy liked it the speech at least. And Magnum liked that she liked it. So that’s the important part.

Enjoyed our faves getting arrested tremendously even if it was maybe a bit gimmicky - like come on there were like 20 cops for people breaking into a empty office? Still fun! And Kumu coming to get them out? Best!

(Also, why is both of them two inches taller here than they are in real life? Real life Perdie is 5′4 and Jay is 5′8 right?(she so smol!!) Do they not make you take your shoes off for mug shot photos? And shoes, unless wearing heels which would not be practical for B&E, are not going to add two inches right? Are they just making our babies taller because...heightism? Not cool!)

Can we also talk about how hot they look wearing their matching black outfits? They should have had a photo shoot and used the best pic as the Christmas card they send to their exes for next year... (just a suggestion...)

Kumu Rocks + Rick vs. Papaya

Kumu really is simply the best. Being all “I’d expect this from you Thomas but Juliet?” And she even brings breakfast when she gets our faves out of jail!

Did Higgy be all ‘okay mom’ there at the end... sure it was all jokey-jokey but Kumu def. is the mom to our flock of idiots!

So yeah, Rick trying to swaddle a papaya? Funny, but like a baby is bigger than a papaya... I mean newborn without arms or legs or head, maybe Papaya sized? But as Higgy points out, papayas don’t move. Or squiggle. Or poop. Anyhow, Rick is freaking a bit about being a dad. Understandable. So he gonna re-model La Mariana and get 45 minute chairs... I mean, that’s a thing?

(Apparently?)

In the end Kumu saves the day here too and she talks some sense into Rick and even gets him a tax break and possibly more business. (The papaya doesn't make it though...) While I’m enjoying Rick nervous dad, I do hope they cut back on it so we can have Rick and Suzy nervous together or doing baby fixing stuff.

Maya

So, Maya... first of all bad ass hot as fuck and clearly a worthy adversary (and possibly ally) to our gang.

They clearly plan to have her be a returning character or at least be in one more episode this season I’d expect as this episode was quite focused on introducing her and her skills.

The woman clearly had some interesting vibes with Magnum, and she reminds me weirdly of Hannah. Not only appearance wise (slightly) but also the sort of pragmatic attitude she seems to be Queen of. I would not be surprised if we get some weird team up where they play couple undercover (to make Juliet jealous of course.) Or for something fun like a gay-club and do Higgy/Maya fake date/kiss and make Magnum all hot and bothered...

But that’s all going to depend on what they do with Maya, maybe she’s going to be more antagonist than anything? BUT she didn’t really do anything bad this episode. Sure, some blackmailing and getting our babies thrown into jail. But grand scheme of things... I think she could be the devil siding with the angels upon occasion!

So yeah, having a slightly morally gray character would be nice, as most of the gang (excluding maybe Jin... but he also be a big marshmallow) are as pure as driven snow currently. Not that they can’t kill someone with a spoon. They just try super-duper hard not to!

Maya be real interesting that’s for sure and we do love a girl boss. Over all, look forward to seeing what they do with Maya!

Ending with the Miggy

Higgins going to Magnum’s fridge, finding it empty and then commenting on the place not smelling of the standard Lia scented candle?

And him being all “if I could quit it that fast, was it really a habit?”... Right then I was like “I NEED HIM to buy groceries and stuff at some point this season to show he actually would do it not just for Lia but for himself and Higgy” and then they give it to me the very SAME EPISODE!!!

(Let’s all appreciate the fact that Magnum’s fridge is clean and empty rather than dirty and empty...)

Random thing I wondered about. Other than her match-y match-y black outfit they have Higgy in shades of red this episode, first this gorgeous top

and then this, slightly less striking which is red-orange brown-ish with pink on it outfit.

Not sure why I thought that was interesting. Maybe because red is like symbolic for love and passion... though this isn’t a very Miggy focused episode. IDK, my mind noticed so I’m pointing it out.

We did have some adorable Miggy banter and some just banter-for-banter-sake (which I don’t like as much) through out the episode. Mostly it’s just them being partners (in crime! literally this week) and working well together, bouncing ideas off even in sitting in different jail cells!

As said, do love the jail bit, though what was the five year old Magnum coming out to play with the whole ‘don’t talk to me while you’re on the toilet’ thing!?! Higgins being worried about her visa is nice contingency. Was this also why Magnum was all “go out the back I’ll draw them off” or was that just him being his chivalrous self?

(Healthy balanced fridge right there - lots of beer, pineapple, condiments, eggs and milk. And is that bread? And cereal? In the fridge? I’m so confused, who keeps bread and frosted flakes in the fridge??? Is this a warm climate thing? To prevent bugs and mold?)

Anyhow, best moment here was probably when he be putting groceries away and Higgins thinks he’s back with Lia and we get sad unsure Higgy for a second and then him going “Nope, but there are other people around here so I should do it for them” and we all know it’s basically her he’s doing it for.

She’s little confused and happy and suddenly nervous as soon as she realizes this fact. And immediately makes an excuse to get out of there... because she be Higgy.

So yeah, super cute and I like that he got a new fragrance that feels much more like a Miggy scent (tobacco-vanilla) to me for some reason.

Then we get the little cherry on top with him asking if she wants to stay for a movie and beer. Which she declines because the she worried about expenses...but judges have money? Judge Rachel should be paying them the big bucks for this one! Me just thinks Higgy is a little bit chicken about spending the evening drinking beer and cozying up with her partner...

Yeah. I enjoyed it, Maya’s introduction makes me excited for more of her, which I think was really the point of this episode. Good work on you Magnum PI creators! Minus points to whoever schedules shows because (from what I heard) we got four weeks to wait for the next episode which is always a bummer!!

mostly because you hated hearing your parents arguing and you felt bad for your brother as he constantly did whatever to get you out of the house

thats what brought on your love for volleyball

you werent exactly the best player but you were interested in it and often watched matches with him

but you also liked volleyball because your brother liked it

you liked whatever your brother liked

he adored you too and he was a boy who didnt talk much due to your mother but he was always a talker with you

especially when you couldnt sleep, he would sneak you out of your room and you both would run to the kitchen and eat ice cream

even with just a 2 year age difference, he looked as if he was older than you due to his massive height

you got over that grudge years ago but your mother refused to have any contact or anything to do with your father and so that included you too

she refused to let you both video chat and any type of connection

your dad obviously noticed your sad expressions and your obvious longing to go back to your brother again and so he arranged something

you shut the door gently before taking off your shoes by the doorway

the large house was often quiet except for the constant typing of a keyboard in your father’s study

you meekly mumbled but his sense of hearing never wavered so he heard your voice

his voice echoed through the hallways and you heard his chair squeak as it was moved back so he could stand

your sock-cladded feet padded against the hard wood floor and you walked towards his study where indeed he was standing there

your father has definitely aged yet his job as a coach made him as fit as he was decades ago

even when youve cleared the air and introduced waka as your brother, seijoh still didnt say anything

they were stuck in this shocked and surprised moment even at the end of the day and when you went straight to the shiratorizawa team,

they watched with wide eyes as you laughed with goshiki and was jumping around with tendou

‘AH! TOMU! MY HAIR!’

‘TORI-SAN! SATORI-SAN! TAKE THAT!’

wow you were actually really beautiful when youre happy

‘i dont think ive seen her this happy with this much energy’

makki said and they nodded

it was true

you were usually calm and collected and was the perfect balance to this chaotic team

so seeing you so free and loose with them was so refreshing, even if it was with damn ushiwaka

you finally went back to the seijoh boys and they all sent glares to the violet team before sending you a smile

‘you ready to go, manager-chan?’

watari ruffled your hair before handing you your bag to start walking to the bus

‘yea. lets go home’

as you all walked, oikawa was already starting his tantrum

‘y/n-chan~! why aren’t you that happy around us? are we not enough for you?’

oikawa whined and pouted

but you just turned to smiled at him and stopped walking to pat his head

‘im not their manager, therefore im not pressured to act like anyone except as a friend and a spectator. but i try to be as professional as i can with you guys to make sure you dont appear bad to others. and you guys are perfectly chaotic enough, adding me into the mix will just about kill coach’

oikawa didnt seem satisfied though

iwaizumi growled at him to be quiet but you beat him to it

you smiled at tooru but your eyes shone maliciously

Is there any part of you that feels it would be okay for Cas NOT to come back and for 18 to be the finale between Dean and Cas? Asking because I didn't think so. The double ending theory makes so much sense about how it's split up. But this woman whose friends with Berens and some of the writers, Natalie Fisher is attempting to let fans down with an article teling people to BELIEVE misha when he says he's not coming back. An anon-ITK has been spoiling things accurately for days and says same. ?

I almost didn’t want to answer this because I think @winchestersingerautorepair had an ask similar to this and they wouldn’t answer it to not cause a panic.

I’m going to answer it, but keep it brief because there are plenty of other posts out there that expand on things.

I want to reiterate the following to everyone so they can keep the anxiety a little lower for the next 5 days: Do not listen to reporters, do not listen to other ‘in the know’ folk, do not listen to actors, do not listen to the CW. Ignore them.100% ignore them. Don’t work yourself into circles over it. Don’t think about what they’re saying, think about what you have seen this last season, the last few seasons.

While I can slip into self-doubt mode sometimes, I don’t think I’ve ever been so sure about something in my life—and if it turns out I’m wrong, we’re wrong about all of this leading to his return then I will personally call Bobo and Dabb myself and ask if we just got thrown into another timeline.

Quick points:

1) What else are they going to do?

2) They would be left entirely alone which is the antithesis of the entire show

They now live in ‘paradise’ a world free of puppet strings. A paradise world where people were happy that Jack gave a flash of to Cas which convinced Cas to start protecting Kelly and Jack in the first place:

Castiel: He didn't tell me. He showed me. The future (then later) I saw a world without pain or hunger or want. I saw the world that this child—that your child—will create. And it’s a world without fear and without suffering and without hate.

^ so that right there is the world we’re about to get or are in now post 15x19. Pain hunger and want, I don’t think he’s talking about famine when talking about hunger he’s def. talking about unreachable desires. Like you can just remember that episode with Famine and it wasn’t just about gluttony and shoving your face with food it was an emotional and soul thing as well. So Jack’s world is one without pain, unreachable wants (’i want something i can’t have’), pain (emotional and physical). without fear, suffering, and without hate. First of all, all of that can lead to anger with people. But he saw a world with no Chuck but idk if he realized it at the time. He saw a world with no puppet strings, no barriers, free will, and people (them) able to make choices and actually obtain things they want, and no longer written to not even know what actual love and happiness were.

So all of ^^ that, begs the question: Why wouldn’t the put the character who foresaw that, fought for it, and was the only one who wasn’t being jerked around by Chuck to come back and live in it and actually get what he wants? 3) The show ended with the loss of two loved ones so why not entertain the idea that it will end with getting two loved ones back?

5) There wasn’t a cacophony of goodbyes from casts, and J2 specifically stayed quiet.

6) Point blank: Dabb and Bobo would not suddenly pivot away from everything they had been building quite honestly probably since they wrote their first episodes for the show. 7) Not having him come back would mean Dean was just a bystander. Honestly, if they didn’t put that phone call and run in, they could have probably gotten away with it. They’d still miss the rest of the points but if they were going to be just satisfied with him absorbing words and knowing “That’s not who I am” they could have done it. Not well. but still. Which leads me into—

8) That phone call and that run. That little shot right there was not little actually and completely broke any possibility of it being a “Dean had to hear who he was by someone who represented true reality there we go over and done with.”

That run was eagerness, hope, exhilaration, all rolled into one. That was the run of someone who wants to engage, and since it was a run, it wasn’t someone who wanted to engage in a “I don’t love you” kind of way.

9) 15x09—I think it’s clear now Dean was def. going to say something and got cut off. That was his emotional moment, but it was adrenaline raced, not really a choice to make, and he was still on puppet strings. He got cut off because the person intended to hear it didn’t think it was going to be that. (Why do we think that’s what Dean was gonna say? Well, he said he hoped Cas heard that prayer while he was doing it meaning obviously if Cas is alive then he’s gonna hear it. He sees Cas alive so logic dictates he knew he already heard the prayer so when he goes to say something else, it was not going to be his prayer all over again).

That little cut off moment now actually happened twice. 15x09, and 15x18 when he didn’t have time to respond at all.

10) Finale song was Running on Empty. Plenty of other songs to choose from but they specifically used the one with the title that included running, and Empty.

11) Even if pandemic filming changed things, it wouldn’t have changed the crux of the story which Cas is a central part of. They literally wrote themselves to this ending and to not have it would render their entire season useless. You can’t have 40 people on a set like they wanted but you can have 4 people. No reason to believe he had been cut from the character-driven finale Dabb wrote.

I’m sure there are more points, and a lot of these go into even further depths, but then you just got conflicting messages in general on if he came back or not and to save yourself the confusion or fear: Pay attention to the episodes, and ignore press, twitter, “people in the now”, promo teams on the CW—

tamaki amajiki makes pinky promises and KEEPS THEM. this man takes them very seriously

tamaki also really likes holding pinkies as like, holding hands

kirishima loves when you touch his arms, he works out a lot and he gets a big ego boost when you compliment his biceps

denki is actually afraid that one day his fizzing out is really gonna mess him up, permanently. he says nothing about it

denki and sero play with legos when they’re high

if you bump into mirio in the hallway he’ll hold your waist and smile at you and ask if you’re okay “i’m sorry, i didn’t see ya there! are you okay???”

when hawks pouts he will clap his wings around you and pretend he didn’t do it

Denki loves rabbits and has always wanted a bunny because they remind him of the energizer bunny

deku, as a pro hero, keeps all of his fan mail. and he has kota’s framed on a wall somewhere since that was his first "fan mail”

if you got into an argument with denki and asked him for a glass of water, he would come back with a glass of ice and tell you to “wait”

At a party, shinsou, todoroki, tokoyami and shoji are the type to go look for the pets and places where they can be alone rather than join in with everybody

iida uses punctuation when texting people “Please remember to get to class early today, Midoriya.”

todoroki is into someone who will bring the child out in him bc he’s never really experienced a childhood— basically someone really funny and is willing to break his shell

when you’re upset, uraraka likes to have you sit in front of her, and then she holds both of your hands while you two talk (or if you don’t feel like it, she’ll happily do the talking) and she’ll make you and her float mid conversation which always makes u smile (and freak out a little but ochaco thinks it’s adorable)

okay so i have finished all three winx movies and seasons 1-5 (i’ve started season 6).

Season one is Best Season. Holds up super well as a twenty-something rewatching a massive part of my childhood. It’s The Labyrinth tier of Good. Trix are best villains here. Icy spends the whole season flirting with Bloom. 10/10.

Season two is p good, I’m only side-eyeing it because I distinctly remember Darkar as a villain, and it turns out only because this is the season with Hot Bloom, and shes not even there for that long and also Darkar is just. so cringe. layla/aisha is fucking incredible though, 9/10.

season three is uh, Fine. I absolutely hate valtor. I grew up on the Labyrinth, and if Darkar made me cringe just bc he was like, campy??? Valtor made me cringe because he was a fucking try-hard, and I’m still laughing over it. Objectively more threatening villain; the creators just wanted to fuck him too much for him to be Good though. It’s just knock-off Gareth who appears w/his own little guitar riff. also also hate the trix being petty bitches and fighting each other for a dude who is so transparently manipulating them, they deserved to literally rip him limb from limb and go about stealing all the other planets’ magic on their own.

Season four was ass. First twenty episodes aren’t even worth existing. Great concepts, they just waste so much time on the winx and their respective partners cheating on each other and hammering in that you can’t possibly have a platonic relationship w/someone of the opposite sex once you’re in a relationship, and that’s Toxic AF. Roxy as a character was pretty good though?? I just hate that they didn’t give her anything unique. She’s a straight up copy of Bloom as far as her arcs go, down to her exact fucking backstory?? And that’s ass for her. She was pretty well fleshed out as a character, and Deserved Better, especially because the winx spend the whole season alternately lecturing and infantilizing her. They coulda done a lot of interesting shit this season, basically, and didn’t. OH. Tecna gets kudos bc in ep 1 she’s ready to full on straight up murder a small child for hurting flora on accident and I approve of Tecna going apeshit in any situation, so, they did good there.

Season five was very meh. very forgettable. It exists solely to establish Icy is a monsterfucker lmfao. also, layla/aisha can’t catch a fucking break, did the winx just not tell anyone she went straight to murder when Nabu died, bc why the hell else would Trittanus (sp?) have straight up promised to murder her entire family and then been shocked when she immediately tried to stab him. I think it’s fucking hilarious that S4 went through so much trouble to avoid giving the girls violent spells (idk if y’all picked up on that - layla/aisha is the only one who got violent spells) only for this season to just give them a whole arsenal of “X punch/kick/stab/etc” spells lol. also also also trittanus himself, what the fuck, literally every single one of his family members, subjects, and People Who Know Him do nothing but talk shit about him and you’re *surprised* he tried to kill y’all??? 3d animation was ass, the selkies were horrifying to look at, also Trittanus seemed to straight up absorb pollution on earth so what the fuck was the problem??? like he created more to beget more pollutants/toxins in ONE episode, but the rest of it, he straight up just took them and left?? so like. no. let him go to town. and then deal w/him later. also the winx turning an oil rig into an oil right that’s run on solar/wind power had me fucking cackling like. oh my fucking god. most capitalist Thing ever i stg lmfao.

AND. The movies. Were. Uh. Third one was dumb af. But the first two were pretty decent. I actually hate the concept of bringing Sparks/Domino back with all its people and royalty just. fine and alive and all? probably why i like the second one better lol. i like the “Eraklyon was supposed to protect Sparks/Domino and betrayed them” thing, that’s p cool. Also Bloom and Daphne having a consistent and v close sibling bond is adorable, even if they didn’t actually work for it in the show, i can buy it Just Being Like That.

So far I don’t really have any thoughts about S6 except uh, they def straight up retconned daphne also being a fairy of the dragon flame, right? right. i don’t like how they’ve so drastically weakened her just so the winx can be the ~heroes~ of the series or whatnot.

FEH - My free summons on 9/17/2021 + data mine thoughts

Hey, what's good?

So, the banner based on the [Cindered Shadows] DLC from Fire Emblem: Three Houses (with Múspell on it) + its respective data update is finally out.

First, my free summons in the banner mostly weren't anything of special, prioritized blue as planned but nothing. In the round with the fourth free summon though, was forced to pick the fallback category (colorless) and...

Heh... nice, that's my second Leila, I won't complain at all, it's always nice to get a 5★ with valuable fodder or an unexpected merge on a project. I'll try to max her [HM] then fodder to Legendary Lilina for [Life and Death 4] as well as [Rally Atk/Spd+], fortunately these will be easy to get.

Nothing else but that's OK. I'll just move on and at least I know I'll eventually run on the other skill I want on Legendary Lilina, which is [A/R Far Trace 3], since it's going to be in the regular pool after this banner is over.

Now, onto data mine stuff, you can find the thread by redditor u/MrGengar123 right here, but feel free to read my thoughts onto what we've gotten (there'll be no talk about story spoilers and the like).

So... the thing that probably interests players the most when a data mine rolls out would be stats on the Heroes that come with the update.

Múspell doesn't really play so differently from what we've possibly experienced on [Ice & Flame 3] with him as an enemy, he's more of a dual-phase unit that focus his strength on a single blow, is durable both physically and magically (but slow as hecc) and prevents the foe from healing. Noteworthy is that he brings [Dragon Wall 3] to the regular pool, which you should definitely prioritize from his fodder if that's your plan and got him.

Also, more or less expected the statlines on the other three banner units, nothing too special to stand out in those but Yuri is probably going to give us new worries in nowadays metagame in PvP.

But Balthus has a similar statline to Mustafa (45/38/25+/36/28-) but Balthus's statline is superior, as you could have imagined, just being one point slower than Mustafa, but the rest, Balthus has the upper hand. About him there's also the skill choice, I didn't realize before that his weapon indeed looked like an {Instant} one, and it is, it's a good one and we're getting it for free, so, be sure you got your 5★ Balthus (check in-game inbox with Feh)! But I.S. just ruined it up with the passive skill choice, why do we have [Close Guard 3] still as a 5★ skill? It's just stupid specially since [Brazen Atk/Def 3] is already on Ares at 4★ and there's like nothing that should justify it staying locked to that rarity nowadays.

And Aelfric just got the worst treatment out of this batch, while his class seems to make sense due to how he's designed as a unit in his home game, his kit just feels completely lacking in creativity and also, he's just one of the several free red tome users we've been getting this year, his statline is basically a slightly beefed up Arete but without a horse, it's also our second month in a row with a red tome infantry user, their statlines are different (comparing to Pelleas) but this doesn't change he's the fourth unit in the year with that class, with not much to make him stand out compared to the other ones except for maybe the post-[CYL 2021] statline boost benefit, but chances are Pelleas will do better for you and his starting weapon is better too, {Rabbit} weapons in general are mostly terrible Imo, they're okay for short battles but generally, there are better options, including good ol' {Blade} tomes. At least his rarer skill is at 4★, it's [Threat. Def/Res 2], which you can use to get [Def/Res Menace] and another skill from Zeke's fodder ([Atk/Def Catch 3] if you plan to fodder a Legendary Sigurd with the Lv.4 version + [Fatal Smoke 3] or [Lull Atk/Def 3]).

Anyway, my plans on them would be:

Aelfric: fodder of [Threat. Def/Res 2] to users of physical weapons (thought of Legendary Lucina and Ephraim) after maxing out [HM], will keep one copy at 5★ for rerun quests.

Balthus: fodder of [Instant Axe+] and [Close Guard 3] for Groom Zealot, also after maxing out Balthus' [HM], working on that as of writing date of this post.

Now, next [Hall of Forms] lineup consists of these units from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance:

Bridal Sanaki: green tome flier.

Ashnard: sword flier. ([GHB] unit)

Halloween Ilyana: blue tome armored. (!!!)

Soiree Nephenee: colorless bow infantry user with ability to refresh an ally. (And she's currently summonable and obtainable for a limited time as a [Combat Manual])

Now this is a really well balanced team, no healers but you get a refresher and one unit of each color, two that use physical weapons and two that use magical ones, which should make things more workable in the event as it goes on and you fill everyone with skills that suit them. It's a nice line-up indeed and Halloween Ilyana is great for [A/R Far Save 3], if you'll go for her, [Atk/Res Unity], [Pact Blooms+] (go for another seasonal weapon if you already have (or can get) Valentine's Veronica!) and an enemy-phase oriented {Fighter} B-skill such as [Slick Fighter 3] are also excellent to take along (if you take these, remember [Atk/Res Unity] and [Slick Fighter 3] are counterproductive, you'd like [Crafty Fighter 3] instead!).

Two of them happen to be my Tellius favs (Ilyana and Nephenee) but sadly can't purchase them and only got 1 [Celestial Stone] out of 3. Still, I'll build them as best as RNG allows it to, I specially adore Ilyana and I'll do what I can to make her great.

Bonuses in [Arena]... hmm... not much of interesting, at least I got Scion Julia but I'll use Scion Nanna so that I can balance the team color distribution in the team I'll use and have a healer (Idoun, Sonya and Ninian are the rest of the members).

In [Aether Raids] I got better luck with Mila and Naga, both of which are projects and characters I actually appreciate, so I'm set for two weeks there.

Favorite Story You’ve Written: def. to these memories because a) longest fic i’ve ever written, and b) oh, the hours i logged into writing this fic, and c) oh, the outlining that went into this fic...i’m very proud of myself for completing the fic, and of course, i credit this to everyone who showed their lovely support for the story. :’)

Fic You Were Nervous to Post: uhhh definitely too far just because it’s...rather personal. i sometimes say that there’ll be a scene or two or just straight up a line or two that’s plucked out of my real life, and i think it’s inevitable for writers of any kind, including fic writers, to isolate their real lives completely from whatever they’re writing, and?? this fic is probably the most personal for me because of that. i remember kinda hem-hawwing about posting it, because i was like whoa, maybe this is a little too personal? but then i steeled myself and was like, “okay, well, would this have lifted my spirits when i needed a story like this??” and then decided to post it.

How you choose your titles: i def. toss and turn between titles! there’s a few fics of mine that are straight-up song lyrics (no surprise there), but to my surprise (as i was looking through my catalogue of fics just now), i realize that a lot of my fics are usually just words or two about what i think might have been extremely important to the story. (or captures the overall tone/theme of the story, anyways.)

Do you outline? for multi-chapter fics and relatively long one-shots with lots of moving parts, i’ll outline. but for shorter one-shots and prompts, i’ll usually just stick with the image that compelled me to write the prompt/one-shot in the first place! (and then kinda write around that.)

Complete: uhhhhh, i’m gonna answer relatively for all my clone wars fics, because in total, i have 74 completed fics. (make that...75, hopefully in a few minutes or hours!) but out of clone wars fics, i have 46 completed fics! (and again, hopefully 47 in a little while.) a part of me is lowkey hoping that i’ll get up to 100 total fics by the end of this year. a part of me highly doubts it, but given how much i was able to write over summer break, i’m...intruiged if i wind up somehow writing another twenty or so fics by the end of this year. (asfsf my wip list is long enough to fill in for another twenty fics. caroline finish all your wips challenge.)

In Progress: okay, so officially, time, wondrous time is in progress and online. but in terms of the works in progress on my laptop...i have...*mutters, counting* fourteen official wips. (ten of them are one-shots, and the other four are longform fics. one of them, i’m hoping to release next week (!!!), and another, i’m hoping to release hopefully around mid-december. uhhh so fingers crossed??)

Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: oops, i guess i kinda already answered that question, but eh, might as well! the one coming out next week (hopefully!! caroline get your shit together challenge!!) is titled most ardently, and it’s an obitine au based off pride & prejudice because i cannot and will not shut up about obitine being the period drama ship out of star wars okay--

and then the other longform fic that is very overdue is called getting lost in a big galaxy, which is a fix-it of sorts taking place after season 5. anakin’s gone missing, and obi-wan winds up going on a galaxy-ride road trip with ahsoka (who, remember, has left the order) to find their idiot. this is honestly my excuse to just write more obi-wan and ahsoka content. hopefully, that’ll be posted in december!! (despite the fact i...originally meant to post it in august oOps.)

and then there’s this other longform fic which...might be coming in early 2021 called red, underlined, which is essentially...uh. everyone’s a stressed out law-school student, and anakin might have accidentally murdered professor palpatine, and now anakin, obi-wan, ahsoka, padme, and rex are all trying to find out what the hell to do with themselves because they’re all in on it. (def. influenced by how to get away with murder except without the criminal justice professor to lead them through the ropes. so more chaos. kind of a dark comedy vibe, if anything else? anakin no is major theme in this one. uh, i mean, maybe anakin was justified in murdering creep palpatine because our gang’s gonna find out what was going on in the background, but either way! lots of “holy shit are we good people are we bad people what are we doing”. lots of questions about morality! ethics! law school student study nights with anakin sprawled out on the floor and obi-wan wearing glasses (which he pushes up the bridge of his nose whenever he’s about to lecture anakin that no, that’s not how that statute works, dumbass) and ahsoka just bringing snacks and rex catching paper airplanes and padme being the one to supply everyone with very neat flashcards. this fic is gonna be an absolute beheamoth, and i’m estimating about 45 chapters? like...130K+ words? help? yeah idk either this really blew up in my head

and then...this stupid, wonderful, boring, amazing job, which is...office x tcw au. only not? it’s very, very loosely based off the office, but not really. obi-wan moves in as a new manager of a company, and we’ve got anakin being like “lol new guy i’m gonna mess with him”, and ahsoka being the one who’s both like “please don’t mess with our new boss” but also being like “actually, wait, lemme help”, rex being in hr and being like “i don’t get paid enough for this”. (also there’s some parts that are written like actual interviews like you would find in the office, so there’s this one bit where uhhh

Obi-Wan flicks his eyes to the cameras in silent question before turning back to Ahsoka. “Well, if you need to call maintenance, then I hardly think you need my permission—”

“Thanks!” Ahsoka says quickly, and she’s about to disappear from the doorway when Obi-Wan stands up.

“Wait, Ahsoka, what exactly—”

Ahsoka re-appears at the doorway. “Oh, right,” she says. “Um—maybe just stay away from the men’s bathroom for a little bit.” She pauses.

“Actually, just stay away from them for the rest of the day.” She hovers by the door for a minute longer, and then she adds quickly, “And maybe also avoid the breakroom. Everything’s fine!”

And with a perfectly not-fine smile, Ahsoka disappears from the doorway.

Obi-Wan stares at where Ahsoka was just a moment ago, and the he turns to the cameras in disbelief. “Did she just—” Unable to finish his own sentence, Obi-Wan starts out the door. “Ahsoka?”

The camera follows Obi-Wan out of the conference room and into the breakroom. There are only muffled shouts—Anakin’s shouts, and then Rex’s, and then Ahsoka’s frantic “no, sorry, everything’s fine!”, and then Obi-Wan’s loud, “What is going on in here?”

surprise y’all just got a snippet i’m sorry can you tell i’m weirdly into this au?? i need to rewrite some scenes but uh there you go

Prompts: for the most part, yes! i have some stuff in my faq about prompts that i’ll probably turn down (mostly anything that’s...above a certain rating/really, realy heavy themes that i just don’t think i can tackle with justice or with enough education on my end). i can be a little slow with prompts, but i’ll get to all of them in time!

Upcoming Work You’re Most Excited About: uhhhh i have too many that i’m excited about. literally i can write a mini essay on every single one of the fics i’m working on? but uhhh i guess since i already talked about all my major longform fics above (asdfasdfsd didn’t mean to do that, i’m so sorry for everyone who had to scroll past that word-vomit), i guess the one i’m most excited about releasing is the post season 7 obi-wan-and-ahsoka-finally-talk-about-how-they-miss-each-other-also-sorry-for-fighting-with-you-i-know-you-were-just-trying-your-best fic. (not a whole ton of spoilers for this one, but uh. i’m looking at some of these scenes and making frustrated sounds because there’s this one particular instance where i’m like, ahsoka. ahsoka just talk to him just ta lk to him but then lol no talking :)) also maybe some h/c? lowkey sickfic might be involved in this somehow? might have accidentally served as a precursor to to these memories? help? this fic just ballooned. caroline keep your ideas contained challenge!)

1. Name: Elise, if you’re nasty.

2. Nickname: Lise, is the main one, partly because no one pronounces the first vowel of my name right and generally ends up just eliding the schwa; I was previously known as Min for a long stretch of my internet career.

3. Zodiac sign: “The Pisces supervillain is the most attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and therefore, capable of the most sadistic forms of evil.”

4. Height: 5′6″

5. Languages: English, I took three years of Latin in college and remember bits and pieces of it, mostly grammatical because I’m shit at vocabulary, a little bit of Norwegian, I’m working on Hebrew, sort of, but it’s been a while.

6. Nationality: US-ian.

7. Favourite season: Seasons where I don’t feel like I’m going to die of heat, so basically all of them other than summer. Well, I’m okay with summer when the temperature stays under 80 degrees or I have a proximate body of water I can throw myself into, but otherwise, not a fan.

8. Favourite flower: for a long time my stock answer for this was “iris” and that’s still kinda true, but I also find that I gravitate less toward flowers these days generally and more toward other greenery, especially trees. If pressed, though...cherry trees are lovely, of course. And I’m weirdly fond of trilliums.

9. Favourite scent: cedar or pine, ocean smell, fresh water (like, the smell of a clean stream, you know?)

10. Favourite colour: Variants of turquoise, mostly, but also dark purple, dark green, and combinations of both with black.

11. Favourite animals: anything canine, anything pinniped, anything cephalopod.

12. Favourite fictional character: If anyone has ever called a character a “problematic fave” I probably love them. My type is so reliably predictable that pretty much anyone who knows me can look at a piece of media and immediately peg which character will be my favorite. I’ve mostly given up on shame about this.

If I had to pick a few...right now since The Untamed is owning my heart it’s Wei Wuxian and the Gremlin Himself (Xue Yang); but long term as particularly near and dear I’d throw in Loki, Celegorm, Felix Harrowgate, and Maeglin. And I’m def forgetting people.

There’s a couple outliers in there like Rand al’Thor and my weird thing for Robb Stark (idk, okay, also this is bookverse specific I like the dumb kid one). Also Natasha Romanov (comics and MCU verse) and Laura Kinney (mostly the comics one).

I love a lot of characters, is the gist of this. But mostly the problematic ones.

13. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate: Tea most often, though I have a special spot in my heart for hot chocolate. Coffee is the only real hard no.

14. Average hours of sleep: On average 7-8, though on a bad night I’ve been known to do 13-14.

15. Dog or cat: I love my cat but I vibe more generally with dogs as a class of creature. I like specific cats; I see a dog and I just get excited on principle.

16. Number of blankets you sleep with: As of my birthday, if I include the sheet, it’s two - a down comforter and a weighted blanket. The latter is currently my favorite thing and I’m so happy about it.

17. Dream tip: The only dreams I have that I remember are excruciatingly realistic and mostly concern real life anxieties, and are so vivid that I get confused about their veracity, or that one where I was trapped in a house full of centipedes that wouldn’t die, so I don’t feel like I’m qualified to give any tips, here.

18. Blog established: Discovered recently that it was October of 2010 and it’s just been downhill since then. I moved over from Livejournal, and I feel like you can tell by the fact that at least 60% of this blog is text posts about my feelings.

19. Followers: As of right now, 6,659 which is frankly nuts but there is no way of knowing how many of those are bots, I’ll just assume most of them.

20. Random fact: Other than that I’m terrible at coming up with random facts when I’m asked? I feel like it’s been a while since I mentioned that when I was in fifth grade I wrote a novel and submitted it to a publisher (Front Street, they are now, on a search, merged with Boyds Mills Press). I got back a rejection letter. Still have it.
