Quitting for an undefined time

Hello everyone.

Just going to announce that I'll quit for an undefined time from Tumblr, I don't know when I'll return, and if I'll actually do it, so that's why this period is "undefined", I'll explain below for anyone that wants to know why.

The reason is that I feel my thoughts posts take hours to produce I could allocate for other activities (I mainly need to look for my first job, focus on my studies and of course have fun exploring new media franchises or revisiting familiar ones), and said posts easily go under appreciated with almost non-existent traction these get (specially when I compare them to specific posts like when I talked about Resplendent Deirdre in FEH), I don't seek to be someone popular like any artist or YTer, just that I could know in some way I'm helping people somehow and providing them something they want to read.

I do realize that these tend to be rather extensive in length, and often having more info than what's needed, but it's difficult for me to try to compress my explanations, if I don't, I get a feeling I'm not making myself understood as I would expect to.

And no, it's no greed for likes, reblogs or wanting to become an AW, again, I said I don't want to be popular, and I'm certain I don't care about statistics any more than people, y'all matter in one way or another to at least someone I'm sure, and I don't see people as source for stats, though I'll admit I once committed that mistake even though it was clear it wasn't with any kind of evil/greedy/negative intent, but it's best we don't indulge on details, I really hate reviving old quarrels even if they don't have anything to do with me, and would rather focus on besting myself or contributing to a healthier and more comfortable environment in any community I take part, if I want to reflect on my past mistakes, I'll eventually come to it myself as long as I'm not pressured to do so. I say all this because I once made someone feel that way, so I don't want that to happen again, and want to make sure I value you as people, not as a tool to boost my stats.

Anyway, thanks for anyone who chose to stick around and take time to read my posts and I hope that these managed to help you somehow, but it's long past time I found something hopefully more productive to do, and I need to move on from doing any activities that take time and have almost no worth compared to the time I spend on doing these.

I still loved the environment here at Tumblr, and how introvert friendly it is, I felt at ease posting here in a sense, and looking into other's posts too.

So, Idoun returns in 11 days 👀

And I'm soooooo excited to pull for her, plus I got some saving time to get more [Orbs], so that's nice.

Also, the [Feh Channel] got released as expected, and with it, a sneak peek on the new seasonals, [CYL6] winners and other neat stuff, here's the 411 plus the usual dump of my thoughts and how I feel overall plus some links to resources, feel free to read on or skim through anything...

Let's get started with some links to useful stuff you might need for planning later on.

New weekly revival schedule in one picture, by PM1.

Supplementary info: SH special rate, weekly banners, Mythic Heroes can get remix'd (these links take you to a copy of the notifications in the wiki, which give you all the detail you need, but conveniently accessable).

[A Hero Rises] 2022's subdomain is now live! The gist of it for those that don't know: you can vote for who you want to see in a coming [Voting Gauntlet] out of all the units added to date, the top 4 will make up a banner and the winner will be given out for free to everyone. Remember to cast your votes daily in the website right here, starting today! I recommend bookmarking the link and creating an easily visible link or set a daily reminder.

Today, a banner that guarantees you a random free seasonal released during a certain period, launched, here are all the possibilities for each color:

The new {Hero Fest} is live, you need [Feh Pass] to spark on it. The units that make up the banners are: Plumeria (red), Legendary Dimitri (blue), Harmonized Bridal Catria+Thea (green), Yuri (colorless). Ten [Tickets] are handed out for free from quests so you can free summon up to 11 times, just beat any enemies 15 times and the items will be yours!

Thoughts

So, the fifth anniversary kicks in today! Happy anniversary to Fire Emblem Heroes! Despite its flaws and somewhat dubious practices in some cases, there's no denying that this game gave us a lot of good as well, as a result of having chosen to stick with it, I've learnt how to become a more responsible saver rather than spender, appreciate and love my favs, and more things, FEH is a game I'm grateful to and don't feel myself quitting anytime soon.

Now, onto some highlights and thoughts and reactions:

That's a lot of fives!

When I saw this, I got reminded of the "that's a lot of damage!" Meme, well, same energy felt here lol.

But as you can see, we're getting one metric ton of rewards this time, all for free, so that's pretty sweet already to get started, we always appreciate to get whatever resources we can hoard, I'm definitely thankful at least.

The most noteworthy you'll find are the two [Celestial Stones], these will help you in getting some valuable resources, but you might like to save those for a [Forma Soul], which has a cost of 3. Yes, they're free too, one is given thru login reward and the other from quests in the coming [Tempest Trials+], so exciting!

Also, I spotted the [Heroic Grails], this reminds me that I got Halloween Sophia to +9 the other day, so I can just wait for the [Combat Manual] to get the last merge there and save [Heroic Grails]! Next I'll work on Ninja Shamir, so it's nice to get some quick and free merges.

[CYL6] winners were also revealed and the ranking are pretty much the same as the interim results, so happy to see Adult Tiki first in her division and having outperformed Byleth too! Tiki gang rise! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I did talk about some of the other rankings in here but in short: good to see that Idoun ranked up a bit than [CYL5], while Sara sadly went down a bit.

Next up is the sneak peek on our coming seasonals, these are from the Fire Emblem Awakening game:

I absolutely adore these two but I fear I might not have enough [Orbs] for them once I finish pulling for Idoun (yes, I want to pull for them with whatever I have left), still, they look super lovely in their new attires, which make for a splendid and pleasant match.

Valentine's Lucina is apparently going to be an armored axe unit, she's spotted coming in place of a nearby ally in enemy phase to protect them from a generic sword armor, so she'll have any of the {Near Save}, no leads on which one though, because of all the buffs she's getting in-battle to obfuscate any hints. Female Robin is colorless tome, and perhaps also armored, the in-battle bonuses are kinda sus, hinting me at a [A/D Far Save 3]. The rest also do look awesome and quite strong too, specially Duo Chrom, who seems to come with a "close pressure" skill that boosts attack and defence in-battle, the so-called "vantage sweepers" will specially love a skill like that, and as you likely noticed, Duo Chrom is a red bow unit, he also comes with the same assist as his Legendary alt, even Owain looks good too.

Lissa is our free unit for the event, and she comes with a staff that seems to heal the users within a 2-square radius area by 7 (including the user), and [Def/Res Ideal 3] and [Res Opening 3] for passives. Not too shabby, it's also worth noting she's an armored healer (our first free one, you can see her moving only one square on the video and she has no movement reductions), but her main issue will be mobility, there's also Valentine's Silque who's cavalry and does better for me, while still being somewhat bulky and serviceable. With that in mind, I'll fodder Valentine's Lissa, one copy for Idoun to pick up [Def/Res Ideal 3] and the other, Idk, but I'll go for the weapon, I don't really have plans to get a Pirate Surtr to efficiently fodder him.

Btw, this was first pointed out by /u/WinterWolf18 at Reddit, but did you know that Valentine's Lucina artwork is based on the art that came with the Fire Emblem Awakening OST? That's a pretty lovely detail, gotta appreciate they've drawn the idea from there, you can get it right here.

After that, we get a little nice feature for [Heroes Journey] which can act as a source of the material needed to unlock the scenes you couldn't unlock yet.

The [HM] cap also raises, from 7000 to 8000, so we can get more [Hero Feathers]. And all my green numbers will be gone again. 😓 But we take more [Hero Feathers].

New "pseudo-demotes" were also added, which mainly comprise the third generation units as shown below:

But seeing the older units getting allocated like that is pretty handy as they'll now take part of weekly banners, plus can no longer pitybreak you. We'll also get two weekly banners, starting with the first one I listed at first in 11 days, can't wait!

Overall, really good change and perhaps the best news after Adult Tiki won first place in the female division of the [CYL6].

[Summoner Duels S] is also going to be a thing... and even though we know next to nothing about it yet, it still makes me feel so much uneasy just by reading the name alone, it shows how devs want to push it onto us and promote live matches, it's annoying and the only thing so far I found of displeasing on this anniversary video. One thing I spotted is that you can bring along 4 teams instead of the usual one... but no idea on how these will be used.

It was also announced Mythic Heroes will take part of {Remix} banners, starting with Eir, and get new skills as a result:

Both Eir and Hríd got really well treated with these buffs but Eir is specially noteworthy, being one of the free units all of us can get or got from the start of [Book III], we have access to a pretty strong support option, which comes in the form of healing and extra resistance. I'm not so much excited for [Atk/Res Unity] specially since it means foregoing some speed she could use, but it's still a solid skill.

But Hríd got a passive B-skill akin to that of Gunnthrá's plus [Atk/Def Menace], both of which are very useful their own for debuffing even more enemies.

And last but not least, a new pool like that of the "pseudo-demotes" will be added to the older seasonal banners' revivals, comprised of the seasonals released until Jan/2019, there'll be a revival of [Love Abounds] which begins the 21st this month and will havee this pool available. Not so exciting as my half-asleep brain could process at midnight, but still welcome Ig lol.

After that, Feh goes to sleep and some really nice illustrations from veteran artists that have been working for the series share their work specifically to cellebrate the anniversary, how sweet!

In a nutshell pretty please? Y'know: a [TL;DR]

Overall, really good release with great rewards and some very much appreciated rewards and the sneak peek on the coming seasonals + [CYL6] winners, plus the beautiful illustrations the artists made for the occasion at the end!

Plus, loving Lucina's and Female Robin's new alts and excited to pull for my girl in just some more days!

I'll rate this [Feh Channel] with a 8.5/10, I feel a little more could've been done with it, plus [Summoner Duels S] just damps the mood, but it was still filled with positive news.

The Mario Kart goddess, now in FEH!

Elimine, one of the Eight Legends of Elibe, from past lore in the Elibe subseries of Fire Emblem, is now added to FEH as a Mythic Hero, and here's her trailer introducing her:

The rest of the post will cover my usual thoughts on new banners and characters as well as resources, but will also include a little trivia, which pertains to her cameo appearance on another one of Nintendo's games' extras.

Resources

Elimine is an Astra Mythic Hero that grants speed boost to her allies during Astra seasons in [Aether Raids], also giving the player an extra slot for another ally in [AR-O] Astra season if she's placed on the team.

She's treated as a unit coming from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.

* = No one on the team shown in the video grants an attack buff with anything on their base kit, so the visible buff's exact amount is unknown until datamine, but speculated to be between 1~6.

Thoughts

Well uh... surprising choice indeed, but not bad for certain, we'll finally get to explore some more Elibian lore, so that's nice.

First of, her gameplay elements make of her a fast and magically durable support unit virtually superior to Flayn. How so? Asides the damage reduction to nearby allies, Elimine grants defensive boosts to nearby allies, and she introduces a new status ailment called [False Start], which negates skills that activate at the start of the targetted foe's phase in the same turn, this can basically disable things like [Holy-Knight Aura], [Hardy Fighter 3] and [Infantry Pulse 3].

It's indeed an effective status ailment, but not overly necessary or game-breaking, still, it can become a lifesaver on certain situations, like formations that rely on Legendary Sigurd's extra movement shenanigans in [AR-D].

Overall, Elimine is a strong support unit, mobile and able to heal her allies, being a great asset for anyone in Astra season, she'll most certainly see a lot of use in [AR-O].

As for her artwork and voice, so far I'm pleased with what I saw and heard, being a little more in the simpler side of things yet still making a solid job at portraying an important religious entity, while her VA managed to capture Elimine's essence in her voice perfectly to go along with her characteristic gentleness.

Trivia

Elimine can only be seen in an easter egg from a limited edition disc that came with pre-orders of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Which is a Nintendo GameCube racing game from the popular Mario franchise, placing this disk on the NGC to play its contents and linking it to a copy of Fire Emblem for GBA allows you to get some unique items in one of your save files and two hidden music tracks, and lets you see a short scene in which Elimine is delivering you a gift. You can read more about the easter egg here, or watch the following video for a 411 on the bonus content right below:

And that explains the joke title of this post.

Also, it's worth noting that Elimine is being treated as a FE6 character in FEH, this is most likely due to it being the first game in which she's mentioned and the Church of Elimine being the rather dominant religion in the continent.

This treatment contrasts with Bramimond, who's from the prequel, but that's because they actually appear there.

I WAKE UP TO SOME REALLY GOOD NEWS

Our next Resplendent Hero for the Fire Emblem Heroes game is Deirdre: Lady of the Forest! 💜🦋

You probably guessed how I feel about this Resplendent Hero just with the title alone, but here's the 411 as always:

Thoughts

Adjfhadfhajkghkafhaajf. 💜💜💜🥺🥺🥺

I'm in love with both the artwork and how well the thematic does match Deirdre, this is because she's sometimes portrayed with butterflies flying near her in her official artwork:

You can even notice a few of those in the special artwork! 🦋

That's one of the reasons why I feel the Dökkálfar thematic is a very solid match for her! There's also the color scheme, many shades of purple blend majestically in her new clothes and the wings, without the different contrasts being absolutely pleasant to admire.

And body language is also worth noting of course, continuing to show us how serene and gentle she is.

Overall, I don't feel there's anything off about all the art pieces, I'm overly comfortable with it all.

I rate the artwork: 10/10.

Reaction

The first word that comes to mind is "HYPE" in uppercase and large size (72pt?), I couldn't feel any happier than I'm about one of my favs in the series getting such an epic artwork, and I'm in absolute love with it.

So... seasonal banner of Jan/2022

It seems this month will have seasonals based on Heroes doning attires from kingdoms, countries, etc. from different worlds (so far we've seen the choices being based on desertic places, first Plegia and now Hatari).

Thoughts

Well uh... interesting, at least it's not Plegia-themed this time but we're going over a desertic place again, this time it's Hatari, which is located on Tellius.

And the artwork and attires are stunning, I definitely like the new ideas.

bonus unitsailah's rather intimidating weapon description, she's not actually a super broken unit at all, but she's undoubtedly strong.

I'm quite glad Karla gets an alt, it's so cool and definitely good as a unit, playing mainly on the offensive and focusing on special skill damage and spamming specifically.

Xane is... for some reason a seasonal semi-demote yet again, this is a weird choice from I.S. but whatever... he does come with some really generous fodder this time around, namely [Dazzling Staff 3] and his [Serpentine Staff+], he's going to be yet another infantry healer, but he comes with an already good staff to start.

Then here's our next Harmonized Hero, who I feel rather mixed about... I do like Azura and specially Leanne, I'd have liked to see Leanne as the lead unit of course (not just bias but also because she didn't have an alt and her first one is just being cheerleader), but it's understandable why it's Azura instead, they still look dazzling in their new outfits. Still... let's talk about movement type and kit... she's a cavalry refresher, our first one! And she's going to be even more prominent in the metagame than her Legendary counterpart, because the Harmonized version does also have [Gray Waves] and also, [Dancing Flames], which is overall better than [Prayer Wheel] as the buffs will be more consistent, and she gets attack and speed boosts in-battle, but is that last part always good? Nope, when you're using her on an AI-controlled defensive map, you want to reduce your refresher's attack power as much as possible so that the AI will make it less likely for her to divert on attacking one of the attacker's units (unless she's affected with [Isolation]), of course this is no problem if you're the one in control of her though, her base kit will be fine in that case. Anyway, the good thing is that the Harmonized Hero will be easy to target for [Isolation], because of their thin-paper bulk, and needless to say, +spd is her better boon all of the time.

Anyway, now Deen remains, while I won't bother with him outside of getting [Dragonflowers (C)], I'll still agree that he does look like a fine project to work on with a nice starter kit, but we'll see once the stats are out. That said, his artwork preview looks promising at least.

As for the whole banner, just easy skip, hopefully I can pick green for my freebie, otherwise: blue > red > colorless.

About: bonus units

I actually do have Leanne and Azura in their OG forms, so I can go with either, but I'll pick Leanne.

Here are their builds:

Not only I do like Leanne more, I've been overall luckier with the merges (even though no +spd copy has shown up yet) and she can support better as well, that's why I'll use her.

About: [Sacred Seals]

I feel rather apathetic about the choices this time, but I feel like [Atk/Spd Form] is going to be at least of some use for attack/speed stacking for units that prefer to fight close to their allies, I'll upgrade it soon as I find someone that would appreciate it, but for now no one in mind.

About: Deen's fodder

[Spd/Def Snag 3] is now easier to get and that's good news, even if it's the 5★ skill, which is most likely going to happen. I feel like I'll ignore it actually, since I don't really need it on anyone, but I still lowkey hope it's the 4★, specially since we already got Halloween Rolf for [Odd Spd Wave 3] long ago.

[Bone Carver+] is a new dagger that focuses on dealing damage, as it gives attack/speed boosts if the user has enough HP, and deals fixed area damage after combat; out of all my candidates, OG Felicia is sure to enjoy it, and, as for the other copy... I'll actually keep it as a unit until I decide what do I do with it... Spring Kagero is a good candidate and the only one I could come up with other than Felicia, but she doesn't really need it, and there's the HP requirement, which kinda works against [Desperation 3].

The rest isn't really worth looking into.

FEH - af1899 summons for Legendary Lucina's last 4 merges!

Finally, after sitting for 6+ hours working on the video, I've finally finished it to show you the results on my quest to get those merges I'm missing, here's the video:

If you prefer to read a resume of my experience, and/or learn what went of each obtained 5★ units, read below. 👇🏻

The summoning

It started alright, I got my first Duo Ephraim to be foddered later on 11 pulls, as he has +hp/-att IVs, then some time after I got Lucina's seventh merge, looking good so far.

Already at the 30th pull, I get my first Loki, who I've been looking forward to get to fodder to Sara, I got a +hp/-res Ninian soon after also.

Of course I sparked the eighth merge.

After that, things started to go downhill as the rate went up and up, but I got a +def/-res Tana along the way.

It was not until I made it to 12% that I get my second... Duo Ephraim, I really don't want to work on this alt even though I do like both Ephraim and Lyon, mainly because my attachment isn't strong to them, but I'll keep this copy for the time being... -spd/+res BTW.

A little after, I get Lucina's nineth merge, but I had to get most of my stashed [Orbs] first.

Things started to get better again, finally, as I get the last merge a few minutes later!!

The destinies

Now, onto what I did with each unit (this section is subject to update without prior notification)...

Duo Ephraim (+hp/-att): will fodder to TBA candidate.

Legendary Lucina (+res/-hp): seventh merge.

Loki (+res/-att): will fodder to Sara for [Earthwater Balm+], [Restore+] and [C Duel Infantry 1] (she doesn't really need this because she can't score optimally but I love to spoil my favs).

Ninian (+hp/-def): doesn't really need a +HP boon in my experience, I'll keep her with +speed like before, now she's +2 +speed.

Legendary Lucina (sparked): eighth merge, also nets me a [Forma Soul].

Tana (+def/-res): merge, now +2.

Duo Ephraim (+res/-spd): keeping for now but will fodder at a later date, candidate is TBA.

Legendary Lucina (+spd/-att): nineth merge, also using as base copy because of the more favorable boon.

Legendary Lucina (neutral): last merge!!! Poggers!!!

The player phase set is the one below but I don't really feel like using it, so I'll stick to the enemy phase one, which uses all her stats.

Ideally, I'd like the RES-based version of [Close Reversal] when it's released, I may spark for it...

Old build

For context, I would like to show you her old build, this screenshot is outdated by a couple of months (from her birthday on 4/20/2021):

It wasn't that impressive and it had a bunch of drawbacks, but it still worked well.

It's amazing how her refine and "remix skills" changed that forever, she's much better now.

Small appreciation talk

Before leaving GamePress Community, I've made a post for Lucina's birthday last year, here it is.

In that post, I went on details as to why she's my favorite character in FE13.

But to put it short, the first thing that has attracted me to her was her design, it's not fanservicey at all but it's very charming and iconic, details like the Brand of the Exalt are really cool as well, and the blue butterflies sometimes surrounding her in official art, I love these.

Not just that, she's an incredibly well developed character, in the sense that we can see how crucial she is to fight off Grima and prevent certain tragedies from occurring, such as Chrom and company being killed by The Risen in a Ylissean forest early in the game.

She cares a great deal for her father and so for those dear to her, even Robin themselves, she may seem serious but she's kind and polite, and will stand up to protect others.

All those traits endeared me to her, she's just thay lovable (and more). 💙🦋

Uhhh... people is saying Volug is at the left, over Twitter, but I don't really have any guesses.

The character at the right is most likely a girl and they are apparently using a staff (or some kind of weapon) shaped like a palm tree (like Summer Rhys's weapon).

I'll wait and see to post my thoughts after next midnight!

The first FEH calendar of 2022 is finally here

Like it's been happening lately, the calendar is coming out as soon as it's 11th in each month (GMT-3), and here's our new one:

About: banners

This is the first thing I care about like always, potential banners in which to pull, but outside the {Legendary Hero Remix} and the mysterious seasonals and Legendary Hero, I don't find much of interest to pull on, so I'll summon for Legendary Lucina soon as her rerun is live... speaking of which, just two more days!! Pretty much psyched to pull for best Awakening girl. 💙🦋

This time, I'll record my summoning session in my PC since my phone might not have enough storage for a lengthy summon marathon, whereas my PC does. I know waiting for the night of 15th for the seasonal units' trailer would be ideal, but Lucina is only missing 4 merges and I have 610 [Orbs] as of this post, and, as someone that really appreciates her, I've been looking forward to a chance to finish merging her since months.

Also, we're having yet another [Heroes with Push] banner, is I.S. pushing these onto us? 🤨

And the rest of the stuff

Damn, the anniversary is coming in about three weeks? Time flies.

I guess it's related to the sus gap we've got in the calendar, there might be something grand in store since we're talking about the fifth anniversary since the game launched back in 2017, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I found an interesting thing in Twitter but Legendary Male Byleth isn't returning in those banners until April this year... still, I.S. sure messed up here.

Anyway, I first thought that [Summoner Duels R] was essentially the same thing, something that was quite wrong in one of my previous post, because it's a separate event yet still mostly the same as the vanilla game mode, but seasonal as it last 4 days (explained here), I'm not really thrilled by it but I'll try to get the rewards because I need them.

[Tap Battle] returns also (details on the theme here)... this game mode is unfortunately not so rewarding, but it's at least something different from your usual maps, so it's not too shabby, but I.S. literally mostly forgot about these and is just rerunning old ones from time to time... I'd still like to see some revamp in these.

So... this month...

It's going to be pretty tame for me, only thrilled for Legendary Lucina's rerun (out of everything announced for January) then that's it, and unless any of the new seasonals is interesting, I'll head back to saving [Orbs] after said summoning, but we'll see.

While I didn't particularly go screaming all around the house, I was still "internally psyched", not only for I.S.'s choice on one of my biggest FE7 favorites to get the upgrade, but also because, despite the attire "she has chosen" to try out, she continues to show us her sweet side, while also expressing confidence in the change of attire.

While I doubt I can get it, it makes me happy to see this one.

Thoughts

And gosh, it looks really nice on her. The clothes match with those of Eir nicely, plus it has a shiny light blue heart in the middle, every little detail looks nice, and it still feels clean and pleasant to look at.

About the only thing I'd find slightly questionable would just be the thematic, something like Nifl would have likely been a better match, but I actually dig the Hel one and I see her definitely feeling like trying it.

But overall, the upgrade can be easily felt, specially noting her eyes, which are better lighted than in her original art.

I rate the art: 10/10.

I don't have Duo Ninja Lyn but I do have OG Florina kinda built, and in a budget, here she is:

I'd love to revisit her someday to actually give her a proper build and a better asset than +def, probably going with +spd or +att, Idk.

But it's decent for some close range combat.
