Of all things in the final case of the Original Trilogy, this is the one that made me cry.

I'm not arrogant enough to pretend to be able to decipher Misty Fey, she's a very enigmatic character whose motivations and actions are complicated. However, I can't remain unmoved by her choice of photograph to keep in her Master's charm.

She did not pick a family photo where everyone was smiling, she did not choose a picture where her children accomplished something traditional parents would be proud about.

She chose a spontaneous photo of her children being very worried that they would get in trouble for a common childhood antic. A picture that represents their sisterly bond and respective personalities more sincerely than any other planned photo

What's worse is that, seeing the broomsticks near each Fey kid, the conclusion is obvious: they broke the urn while playing together. They also both feel responsible, as seen by Mia trying to fix the mistake (classic older sibling behaviour, I get you, girl) and Maya crying over being in trouble.

It’s quiet, it’s respected... his Mipha is honored there. There are so many sky islands he could visit to be alone but that isn’t what he wants. He doesn’t want isolation. He wants her. And this is as close as he can get to her now.

We're nearing the end of summer and I can't help but be reminded of how I was exactly one year ago. I had lost my bunny Coco a few month prior, and summer was bittersweet. Coco's absence was very hard to bear, and I had heavy trouble sleeping - I would always wake up at the hour he passed.

But towards the end of summer I dreamt of Coco for the first time, the first thing I asked him was if his stomach was still hurting. Obviously he didn't answer but he was sleeping so peacefully. And I think that dream really helped me move on.

It fits SO PERFECTLY with the theme of Wasteland, Baby! and I want to throw hands with Andrew for just letting this sit in a folder in a laptop but I can forgive him because it's out now.

I LOVE that it sounds imperfect, like he gets into these off-kilter flows and runs, but it's deliberate?!! AND IT WORKS WELL.

This chapter hit me like a fucking truck - because it's the first time I've ever seen someone describe loneliness/desire for friends with food....As you guys know I love cooking. I love food. It's why this manga appealed to me so much - cooking for other's is my love language. I love making meals and people eating them. It brings me joy - and eating alone makes me very sad and lonely (In my apartment I try to only eat while on call...eating breakfast alone always makes me feel lonely).

Its why I have restaurants I always wanted to try but never go - the point of a meal to me is to share it with someone.
