Finaly finished watching MLP friendship is magic, the final season

Here's a couple of my few spoilery thoughts and reactions:

- when i saw that discord was hogarth my first thought was immediately "oh, thats kinda cute, since he was a redeemed villan, hes trying to teach some of the irredeemable ones about the power of friendship in their own way!" But NOPE! LMAO! hes just a fucking moron that just wanted to give twilight a final boss battle. my god. He keeps fucking up - So glad that they beat the crap out of Cozy glow, that was really funny. fuck them kids - All of the designs of the older mane 6 i very much liked! Exept twilight, i thought it was weird that they copy pasted celestia's lanky body on her (also spike looks WEIRD. but still better than gen 5 spike) - I was watching this all with my gf. When i saw older Applejack and Rainbow dash together with very loosely implied romance i instinctively muttered "i want to kms" It just. instinctively came out of me. Sorry Appledash shippers - I always knew Rarity would be a hot old woman but goddamn im so glad to be proven right. She'd serve cunt all the way to the grave - Brief chaos god pinkie was funny; i thought that was just smth from the comics! I'm already planning on putting that on a fanfic in the future either way heh. - Chrysalis's whole fit was very fun. As always, best villan purely by presentation (ty megamind) - I cant believe starlight glimmer is the one that got like. one of the few actually good fight scenes in the show, against chrysalis. She even did a couple of quips. My god that feels weird. I miss sunset so much. - I cant believe that all we get from Sunset shimmer on FIM is just. a brief, insignificant cameo on that rly awesome cute song in the end, one where she's getting mike-wazowski'd by twilight. Holy shit sunset stans stay losing forever, my god its a sad life for us

no grown up flurryheart 🥺 🥺

For some reason i thought there'd be a war or something? in my head i had heard there was a war on the finale of MLP which i always thought sounds goofy as hell. Glad it wasn't, but otherwise its not like the finale impressed me that much. I mostly cant stop thinking about how sad it is for twilight to rule alone, almost. Like, her friends will age... No alicorn wife................................................

Oh well. either way, cute finale. I'm glad i sat through all the show. It has definitely done some irreperable damage to my psyche at this point, as you can most definitely tell. Haha can't wait for there to be another generation amirite :)

feels really awful not drawing my red energon necklace on me anymore. it also feels awful when I do draw it though, like i used to feel rly happy bc it's a reminder of how loved TF made me feel but now it's just a reminder that i've lost it and i'm! always! scared i'll never get that back! i keep trying to imagine starlight would want me to wear it but its so fucking hard to imagine him being kind towards me when i have months of trauma and abuse that have convinced me the exact opposite. that's why im making so much fanart instead of self ship. thats why i still only doodled one (1) ship art w/ ken and i'm facing away from the camera bc i cannot stand to draw myself with or without the necklace. i hate thinking about it i hate lingering over that empty area. i hate missing him. i fucking hate missing him. im not supposed to miss any of those characters like this. this was never supposed to happen to me. i didn't deserve ANY of that shit my abuser put me through. i just want everything taken away from me to finally be mine again

#been drawing myself wearing barbie's locket or ken's chain #just to fill that empty space because idk what else to do!!!!#i tried drawing the red energon necklace while im holding hands w/ six #and it felt so fucking Bad it was like oh. why would i wear that if it's never gonna feel better again #would stsc even want me to wear it anymore. does he even still love me #i keep trying to imagine that he misses me and hes just waiting for me to come back #sitting in our meadow holding the necklace for me stargazing and wondering if im ok #but TF being a literal fucking trigger makes it SO FUCKING HARD to think of fluffy scenarios #when someone spent months telling me how abusive they would all be and how vile they are #i love barbie. i love ken. i love six. i love sebastian. but it is absolutely fucking nothing compared to what i had w/ starscream #and im. nevergonna get it back am i #the pain is so tremendous and when i lose barbie/ken/six/etc etc idk what im gonna do #i felt so good watching the barbie movie today i watched it TWICE since its the last day in theaters #and then on the way home a starkeri song came on shuffle #and i fucking lost it i had to pull over bc i started crying so hard #what the fuck is wrong with me!!!!!!!!#vent

The coldness in his voice was strange. It didn't suit him. The voice he was used to had, though it was rough as sandpaper and newly spun flower-cotton, a sign of life to it, a light that was not so easily dimmed. That light was gone now. Something about that gave Robin a feeling of insecurity, of a lost identity, a shed skin.

ii:

"Where will you go?"

Robin smiled. There was no trace of happiness, but still, he smiled. "To the ends of the earth, hopefully."

findings:

turns out, a murder of ravens is a multiple pov story, which switches between robin, chiel and katrijna respectively

the plot has changed from robin's ultimate doom by killing the king at the mid-point of the wip, to robin killing the king in the first chapter and living with the consequences while the king's ghost becomes a sort of "allmighty" being that controls everyone's behaviour

katrijna is no longer dead!!! it was her father who got executed instead of her and she's now mainly leading the resistance along with chiel. she, chiel and robin somehow unite in valka's square, at the daily market

THIS WORLD AND ANOTHER ONE I WAS STUCK ON ARE NOW COMBINED! tellastria, which was another world i sort of introduced here, was missing a continent and amor's was also missing one, so now they're combined! the world is called tellastria, with the continents sterrenval and ileom, in raventong and meteoran respectively

so far i'm rly proud of the prose. i was rusty on using dutch (my native language) but it's going really well i'm vv happy with it

considering this is officially one of my top 3 favourite albums ever i’m v happy to 😌! warning, absolutely every single song will be ranked 10/10

thank for wanting to know my thoughts :( i can’t believe anybody would volunteer to read this JDNSKSDJKDS

first of all, my top 5 is probbbbably gonna change (maybe not tho bc my lover top 5 hasn’t really changed a lot), but for now, i think it’s: august > seven > mad woman > illicit affairs > mirrorball

THE 1:

ngl my very first thought was that it reminded me of same love by macklemore skdjdskjdskjsd but not in a bad way!

literally some of the prettiest lyrics, i knew just from this song that this would top red as her best lyrically (best album in general)

honestly just rly sad and sweet and one of those songs that has such a universal sound i feel?

also the simplest song of the album lyrically (also not in a bad way, just like objectively this is the easiest subject matter on the album with the least opaque lyrics), so a really good opener

best lyrics: “we never painted by the numbers baby but we were making it count/you know the greatest loves of all time are over now” and “we were something don’t you think so/roaring twenties tossing pennies in the pool/and it my wishes came true it would’ve been you”

a cute girl, 10/10

CARDIGAN:

i was surprised by the darkish sound of this one

idk what that like clanking sound in the background is but i find it a lil distracting in the first half of the song - but if i ever find out what it is and it has some symbolic meaning/purpose for being there (i assume it does) i’ll accept it sdjknsd

i love the nostalgia that is so present in like almost every song on this album :(

also the music video is stunning and frames the entire album in the most interesting way, metaphor-wise

best lyrics: “i knew you’d linger like a tattoo kiss/knew you’d haunt all of my what-ifs/the smell of smoke would hang around this long/cause i knew everything when i was young/i knew i’d curse you for the longest time/chasin’ shadows in the grocery line/i knew you’d miss me when the thrill expired/and you’d be standing in my front porch light/and i knew you’d come back to me”

THE LAST GREAT AMERICAN DYNASTY:

love this one bc it’s like a nice lil exhale in an album filled with angst, like it’s cute and boppy without being aggressive

i’m suddenly absolutely obsessed with rebekah harkness, particularly the “bitch pack” thing and her dyeing someone’s dog green

i love taylor’s storytelling and i love how that’s always been a big part of her approach to songwriting. this is taylor at her best narration, like starlight but so much better. this is a type of songwriting that is so underused these days, esp by mainstream artists and i love so much that she has always used it and been so invested in it

the pronoun change made me screech. sooo goooood

taylor’s obv a deeply autobiographical artist which is why it’s so incredible to hear her tell OTHER people’s stories and somehow make them so her own. like i think it’s mostly the english major in me that just gets so emotional over that...... the way that other people’s stories became our own through the way we tell them......

this song is def the one that is most explicit about the album’s theme of telling stories but ones that tell something about her (and about her listeners too), by switching to personal pronouns at the end. it sets up a pattern for the rest of the album, where each song is about one thing (the actual story she’s telling) but also about a bunch of other things.

a good example of why she’s the greatest songwriter of this generation

best lyrics: “there goes the maddest woman this town has ever seen/she had a marvelous time ruining everything”

EXILE:

bon iver’s voice was a full shock to the system the first time i listened and idk why sdkjnds it is just so deep and i was not at all expecting it esp after the cuteness of tlgad

anyway these lyrics are GORGEOUS

i love a duet where the 2 singers’ lyrics are meant to be directed at each other. is there a word for that type of duet idk but it always makes a duet infinitely better

the miscommunication exemplified in the bridge...... chef’s kiss heartbreaking

out of all the songs this is the one that makes me feel the most like i am in the middle of a forest in winter. i can already picture myself listening to this song in december with the sound of a crackling fire in the background mmmmmmmm my exact vibe

best lyrics: “you’re not my homeland anymore/so who am i defending now?/you were my town, now i’m in exile seeing you out” and “i’m not your problem anymore/so who am i offending now?”

MY TEARS RICOCHET:

this chorus BRRROOOOKE ME

writing songs presumably about the masters situation and framing them as breakup songs was absolutely galaxy brain

i feel like the image of tears ricocheting has like a million layers to it and is just suuuuch a smart metaphor

also just such a visually rich song ? so is every song on the album but the metaphors of this song are all just so visual

best lyrics: “i didn’t have it in myself to go with grace/and you’re the hero flying around saving face/and if i’m dead to you why are you at the wake?” and “i can go anywhere i want/anywhere i want, just not home”

MIRRORBALL:

ok so i did like this one on first listen, i loved absolutely everything on first listen, but it didn’t hit my top 5 until like 8 listens later, so it’s def a big grower and i think could be a huge fan fav by next year

the self-awareness in her writing will never fail to amaze me

the way that life is just performing...... yeah

but it’s crazy to me that a person could be like “i’m a compulsive people pleaser and performer and i’ll do anything to get ppl to like me” and that leads to “i am a disco ball” like ???? her brain is so big. it’s such a gorgeous metaphor.... and the circus imagery AHHHHH

best lyrics: “i’m still on that tightrope/i’m still trying everything to get you laughing at me/i’m still a believer but i don’t know why/i’ve never been a natural, all i do is try try try/i’m still on that trapeze/i’m still trying everything to keep you looking at me” and “i can change everything about me to fit in”

SEVEN:

this one simply rips my heart out

at first i was like oh this is so weird and then the chorus just would not leave my head

for me personally, nostalgia is literally 90% of my personality and just for so many personal reasons the thought of childhood ending and all of the growing pains that come along with that have been at the forefront of my psyche for the past year. so it just kills me whenever i find a song like this one and it kills me that taylor specifically has several songs about this topic and this is 100000% the best of them all. like it’s the most beautiful experience to have your thoughts and feelings and fears expressed so perfectly by a total stranger, and that’s rly what art is about and i love taylor for doing that for me and millions of other people

i just feel like this song brings up so many vivid beautiful memories of childhood for so many people, like being outside in the summer and screaming and being free. ugh

the pause after “i hit my peak at seven” before completing the phrase........ OOOOOOOOOF IT HITS TOO HARD

and sound-wise, just so off-beat and cool and unique

i find this one so hard to listen to but it’s absolutely beautiful and devastating and so heavily relevant for i think the whole world rn

the heart monitor and the trumpets tying both of the topics in together is so genius and so heartbreaking

i think will be the sygb of folklore where it makes everybody cry so much that it becomes a skip despite being a beautiful song

first of all THE HARMONICA

this made me so happy bc it’s just so debut and so fearless and it made me SOOOOO nostalgic on my first listen, because it really felt to me like i was getting to listen to a song from debut or fearless for the very first time again

it’s just so sweet and cute and simple and yet another very self-aware moment of looking back to her past material/subject matter

best lyrics: “would you have me? would you want me?/would you tell me to go fuck myself/or lead me to the garden?” and “i’m only seventeen, i don’t know anything/but i know i miss you”

PEACE:

the bass at the beginning is soooooo nice

this miiiiiight be the strongest song on the album lyrics-wise but idk yet

not much to say, it’s just so gorgeous

best lyrics: “i’m a fire and i’ll keep your brittle heart warm/if your cascade ocean wave blues come/all these people think love’s for show/but i would die for you in secret” and “would it be enough if i could never give you peace?” and “i talk shit with my friends, it’s like i’m wasting your honour”

HOAX:

i have a feeling this one will be underrated/underappreciated bc it’s just simple and dark and the last song, but this is....... a lyrical masterpiece

i feel like i need to be playing this on vinyl with all of the lights off and just a candle burning yknow, like there’s just something so dark and ancient about it

best lyrics: “my winless fight/this has frozen my ground” and “your faithless love’s the only hoax i believe in/don’t want no other shade of blue but you/no other sadness in the world would do” and “you knew it still hurt underneath my scars/from when they pulled me apart/but what you did was just as dark/darling this was just as hard”

OVERALL: 10000000000/10 literally one of the best albums i have ever heard and (while i wouldn’t put it past her to top it) absolutely the best work of her career. so complex and layered and emotional and painful and genuine and different. not to get ahead of myself but this is/should be considered her blue, her rumours, her abbey road....... god. can’t wait to listen to this album for the rest of my life and play it for my future children and just watch it live on as the greatest work of one of the most important artists of the 21st century

thots on finale....................

yeah twilight and spike looked. bad sdkfjhsdj. and it was kind of funny to me that they added eye wrinkles onto everyone just to make them look older even tho we’ve seen ponies at that age before without that... but like i get it. Time Has Passed. thats a solid way to show it

i think twilight would have looked a lot better if she just wasnt. THAT tall. like we all already saw her as slightly taller than the rest of the mane six, but the difference in the end was. so extreme. she looked so odd around everyone else

also would have been nice if we could have seen celestia and luna post time-skip? just like chilling on a beach ?? also wish we couldve seen grown up flurry heart n older cadance and shining... but thats just bc i rly love them....

i was worried abt the pairings but im glad some of them seemed pretty ambiguous? like sure if u want to u can pin flutter/cord and starlight/sunburst together but i felt they were pretty vague and the only real solid end pair was pinkie and cheese.

AND ON THE OTHER HAND I THOUGHT DASH AND APPLEJACK’S “if you just let me help out with the chores!” “i would if you did them right” WAS LIKE?? UH???? GAY ???????? they were the only ones who walked in TOGETHER they were acting Really Married....... like bro...........................bro...............

and i understand why they defeated the villains that way. sometimes they cant be reformed w/e. but i feel reaaaally weird abt cozy glow..... she was literally a child................... where were her parents.... could they not just send her home and try to get her to go to therapy...... i know she committed crimes against the whole world but theyve forgiven that before ! (and i rly liked chrysalis’s character too it wouldve been neat if she couldve been reformed)

anyway. it was all very sweet and i loved the song and got pretty weepy ;-; ill miss them.................

@hakjeon - lin is so sweet and genuine. i bulli her a lot but i care deeply about her and she has one of the best blogs. i can rely on her to gift me with spams of vixx when i particularly miss them and she’s also super cute, may nothing happen to her mashallah.

@hakmyeon - hannah’s a cowboy in disguise despite being on the east coast. she’s creative and funny and the most angelic hakyeon stan. i don’t even have much else to say about her bc she’s dear to me. this may be my pisces ass speaking but i get rly attached to sweet people.

@ravisus - niki... kenvi enthusiast. at last i found someone to talk fic with. she’s funny and great and i hate time zones because we basically live on the opposite side of the world from each other :( she ain’t afraid to stand up to annoying anons... queen. for her sake i hope she gets a ravi photocard in her next album, i’m sending all the vibes

most everyone has a spirit but not everyone, people have not always had guardian spirits, i do know how quirks started, quirkless people have spirits, they don’t have quirks because their bodies have not adapted to channel their spirit’s energy adequately, and izuku can try something with unlocking quirks, but it depends on what there is to work with already. quirk cancelling bullets rewind the bond between spirit and human but they don’t erase the adaptations to the body. quirkless people dont have that adaptation in the first place... hope that makes sense

if this person was enjoying eldritch stuff, i think msa izuku would be kind of envious of them, and resentful, because hey, this person gets a way better deal than me in terms of eldritch mysteries, why do i get stuck with all the bad stuff?

either way i don’t think msa izuku would spend a lot of time with them, he has a lot of his own stuff to deal with.

frankly i don’t think msa izuku would be able to handle someone knowing About Him and genuinely looking after him at the same time, he’s only ever had one or the other at a time, if all might did this msa izuku would short circuit and have a minor crisis because he doesn’t know how to accept affection from someone who accepts him for who he is. this thought hurts me and i regret thinking about this. really good ask, thanks for sending it in

intonations aren’t a new language, just a manner of speaking, where the fourth intonation takes the most energy and the first intonation (normal speech) takes the least. effectively, izuku and all the spirits are speaking japanese, but the intonation they speak in will take their words to a different energy level. if that makes sense. so, no, ‘carwash’ would not show up in the middle of a sentence

yes, spirits are basically bound by proximity! they can leave their charges behind and go gallivanting to another continent but it’s Not A Good Idea for a few reasons and becomes very unpractical. they can travel pretty far from their charges if the necessity arises, though.

Hey! Sorry to hear that your friend isn't being the nicest :( I hope it gets better soon, that's always the worst. I think calmly approaching it would be a good option, I know that's what I would do. I went through some friend problems in the past year and I had to do this a few times, I would ask if everything was okay instead of bringing anything up in an accusatory kind of way or just leaving it (bc that's not healthy either). Thank you so much for asking, that's really sweet. There is nothing that you have to do!

I'm not going to blacklist every single Transformers Thing, because I still love Transformers so dearly and I want to reclaim the F/Os that I lost, Starscream especially. Avoiding it entirely is gonna train my brain to believe that it's a genuinely Dangerous Thing that I have to avoid for the rest of my life. I'm not gonna force myself to look directly at it 24/7, but I'm not going to turn away from it all either, if that makes sense

There's a few characters that I definitely have to blacklist, like Predaking/Skylynx/Darksteel might be permanent bc I have nightmares about them the most. Dreadwing and Breakdown I've had to blacklist as well, I don't know when I'd be able to reclaim those two again, but I notice that I have physical reactions when seeing these specific characters bc my ex-friend was so heavily associated w/ them, to the point of going to the hospital having rly intense panic attacks just from seeing her commissioning her S/I with them so often. I've also blacklisted all of TFA bc it was her favorite and I associated her with, like, everybody there. But TFA doesn't feel like a huge loss at all bc I never got into TFA in the first place. I'm sad I'm unable to ship w/ TFA Starscream (all Starlights are on the F/O list after all!!) but maybe one day I'll be able to change that. He's still gonna stay on my F/O list even if I may never interact w/ him.

I noticed that these characters are the ones where I'd be having the most intense reactions to, like getting rly sick/unable to keep any food down for full days, breaking out into hives, hyperventilating and shaking and crying, a total mess. Other characters that I used to feel SO comforted by, like Starscream and Bumblebee, I just get super sad and cry a lot bc I miss them so much and I wish I could feel safe around them again, but it doesn't give me a violent reaction... as often. It still happens, but not every single time like it did before. If I see her commissioned w/ them though, then yeah, that's the worst thing I can possibly see, is her S/I or OC with these characters. That's when I am inconsolable for days. My brain and body react as if I'm in danger. I automatically block anyone who interacts with her now.

I believe I can reclaim these characters if I associate them with people I trust... which is hard too, because I did trust this person who hurt me, and it really backfired on me. I still have a voice in the back of my head saying "don't trust ANYONE they're ALL gonna hurt you" but I'm ignoring it 99% of the time. I have some friends who LOVE to talk about Knockout, I think if I saw them posting abt Knockout on my dash, it would make me feel better. So in a way, seeing my friends talk about Transformers is actually helpful! Baby steps.

If the triggers get really bad I will just step away from the computer/phone for a while + binge cartoons that have no association with anyone whatsoever just to give my brain something else to think about. I've burned through sooo many shows this way. I have a lot of other triggers that aren't TF related but I associated w/ the person who hurt me, like the color pink was her Cybertronian OC's main color, and like... my walls in my room are pink. I got them painted that way for Bee and Puppycat just before the ptsd started and it was too late for me to repaint. I have so many pink clothes. I have some Princess Bubblegum and Pinkie Pie merch that's, well, pink. But I'm handling it better than I was months ago. On my worst days, I will leave my room so I can't look at my walls and I'll sleep on the couch. On my days where I'm not feeling as fragile/shaken up, I'll be able to sit in my room -- I'm sitting in my room right now! I'm sitting in my pink room and I'm just, not looking at it but I see it in the corner of my eye and I'm a little bit shaky but I'm not on the verge of a very horrible attack or anything. In a little while I'm gonna have to sit in a non-pink room for maybe an hour or so before I feel safe enough to come back to my bedroom. I'm going to eventually cover these walls with Cowboy Bebop posters and framed pictures of Spongebob characters.

What I'm trying to say is... I'm able to somewhat control what I see, I'm able to use grounding techniques if I get triggered by the "smaller" things (pink, crop tops, green eyes, etc). I'm blacklisting what I can, and if I need to, I'll block people who reblog her. I don't know if this is really a solid plan because I don't really know what I'm doing just yet, but like. I'm trying. I'm really trying, and if I need to change something then I'll surely figure it out over time. I've made it this far.

oh gosh 😭😭💖 thank you for the compliments, I died drawing the flowers sdlkfjsdlf,,

but oh yeah, valid question, I totally did not bother to detail this thing at all. it's a red energon necklace!! in context of the drawing, Starscream used this necklace (a piece of red energon attached to - courtesy of knockout - a silver chain) to present to Keri as a love confession. One day (in an AU), Keri disappears (she accidentally jumps forward in time, into another dimension, LONG story that is completely tied to RiD2015 Starscream), and all that's left behind is this necklace in the starflower meadow... well, that and her flannel shirt, which Ratchet keeps bc he was there and he was holding her when she vanished into stardust. STSC keeps it on his person at all times, promising to return it to her when he finds her. He thinks it's a sign that she left for him, a cry for help, or a silent promise that she would return. It keeps him hoping.

So anytime I feel shitty and I wanna draw angst art, I draw him holding the necklace and missing me////
