How do you think the boys (any of them really) would view a partner with like all sorts of facial piercings and like rat tails in their hair and funky colors(truly best describes as a queer little gremlin lol). Cause I know Marlene and Sirius have an alt rock aesthetic (I don't think I spelled that right) but as much as I love these characters I never feel like I would have fit in with them if I was really there ya know?

Idk it's kinda stupid but just curious on you're thoughts on this. They're just so cool and I would hope they would like me enough to at least be my friend if they were real 😮‍💨😖

James:

I love (and follow religiously) the headcanon that James is pansexual but I believe that expands beyond just gender identity, if that makes sense?

It doesn't matter if you're male or female or anywhere in between or beyond or both or all

and I feel like it doesn't really matter what you look like to him

I feel like he loves people for their hearts, their minds, their interests, etc

I feel like he'd maybe be worried because....those had to hurt??? you do that on purpose? doesn't it hurt terribly? his poor sweet angel????

I also see him as the type of bf who would be like "oh! are we changing colours? which one's? can I help?" and will dutifully like, adorn gloves and sit in the bathroom breathing in dye fumes and chatting away with you while the two of you talk about everything and nothing - I think he'd love spending that time with you and it would be special bonding time

(also, have you seen the James fan art with him with a nose ring??? fuck me sideways)

Sirius:

you're so right re: alt-rock aesthetic etc

I think he'd find the facial piercings awesome tbh, you might even have inspired him to get one or more of his own

I think he'd make it almost a competition of who can dress the most grunge that day hahaha - but the two of you would make quite the couple

also? you look like the kind of person his posh, prissy, stuck up parents would hate seeing him with - that's totally a bonus

I see this guy as someone who loves hair care and would be horrified at how much/often you change your hair colour and would insist on helping you/buying the more expensive products/ensure you're doing it right to save your hair from too much damage

idk, I kind of see him a little bit like James tbh; looks would be a little less important to him? like he doesn't care how you express yourself in terms of style and clothes

what would be important to him is that you're kind and patient, that you're openminded and considerate of others

I mean...he's littered with scars, is he not? He doesn't exactly look "normal" (derogatory) and would probably feel very similar to what you've described; like he doesn't feel he particularly 'fits in' with his friends

I see him having like, not long hair but like a decent head of curls, and he'd totally love if you braided a few little pieces of his hair like your 'rat tails'

I think he'd find the hair fun; you'd show up one day with new colours and I could see his face lighting up like 😃 "that looks great love; so fun"

Other misc things:

- Chains of others gets the Gloom effect rather than Pride when Meur uses it in story. Given how he says outright he wishes to protect Heathcliff and how the idea of an unfair judgement [from Erlking judging that all Heathcliffs must die to the court in his novel] is a theme they both share.

- In the end scene, Rodya is at the back of the bus and seemingly in deep thought, can't remember her saying much in the later parts of the Canto either. Something must've hit her hard.

- Is the river under the Heights something connected to the 'stream of human consciousness' [paraphrased] that I believe was mentioned in lobcorp?

- We know boughs can be destroyed, but I wonder if one can be 'reactivated'. The one Dante hold onto in Pass On is charred black but still intact.

- To add to the parallels, Heath n Yi Sang both get stabbed in the heart by a bough, one by their own volition in an act of love, and another by someone else.

- Why does Demian remember Cathy. It's probably something to due to the stars but half the time I'm fairly certain he's just standing invisible somewhere during the story given how much he knows. But given the body and coffin were both still there, I doubt ctrl alt deleting someone fully erases them from everything.

OK answering one by one:

I LOVED THAT MOMENT SO MUCH. In general it was such a surprise and treat to see how much more active Meursault was in this Canto and I was wondering about the Gloom change unless I was just misremembering the color since Pride is also blue but thanks for confirming. Meursault......... It's also so so cool to see the EGOs being used for practical uses like restraining someone like Meursault does, it makes me wonder what it can be do with some of the others like for example Ishmael's anchoring with Snagharpoon or Yi Sang's teleportation in Crow's Eye View

Actually good point though she actually spoke quite a bit I think, mainly in the first part about the resentments she has towards the rich, and the moment she has when they're approaching the mansion that brings up her dark side to the others in full force even if just for a second. Since apparently she's gonna be the focus of next Intervallo I hope it means she's getting more character development...

I say "yes, most likely" as I talked in my previous answer, taking in count Hermann has an interest in it and finding "the prime form of humanity" and The Well they talk about is the origin of everything in the world and humanity itself and responsible for The Light and EGO and everything, it's not the first time there's been a physical entrance to it somehow, the other most notable one is the Black Forest in the Outskirts that comes up more in-depth in Ruina.

Yeah I wonder how it can even get "burnt up" in the first place and what they're even gonna do with it since getting the charred Bough is treated as a grey area of sorts between success and failure. I wonder just How it lost its power and how it can be reactivated though taking in count it's basically magic

I SEND AN ASK TO MY FRIEND ABOUT THIS TOO, the other party involved for each Heathcliff and Yi Sang's cases are also the two most important women to them and great symbols for their own nostalgia and overall arcs, and they are connected to them through flowers that carry symbolic meaning and are tied to their homelands. Heathcliff stabbing himself as an act of showing his love to Catherine is also interesting because Dongbaek's reason for stabbing Yi Sang could also be interpreted as being a form of love, but...marred with heartbreak and hatred and resentment for what happened to the League like in the original Wuthering Heights [edit cuz I forgor: this is something amplified by the fact that when she stabs Yi Sang she quotes the line from The Camellias where the protagonists fall in love together both physically and metaphorically], specially since she was so overwhelmed seeing him she went for him when she was going to initially attack Dongrang derailing her plans. How she talks about it when questioned adds to it too since she kind of justifies herself saying that Yi Sang wanted to die too and isn't spiteful like she is towards Dongrang even being calm seeing he was just fine despite her murder attempt (but also the fact that she was unphased by that still gets me. She's really got no sanity left), and she was correct in claiming Yi Sang was longing for death even if the moment left a big emotional scar on him, much like Heathcliff's heart was broken by Catherine and so he breaks it in a literal sense for her.

Honestly Demian is just Demian. He's a weird little guy and probably exists out of time or something tying to his star. It's probably for the same justification as to why Heathcliff and Dante remembered Cathy, and she's def not truly "gone" since they couldn't really erase the consequences of her actions and presence. Hindley and Linton are still dead because of her.

Leo:

Leo likes your outfits, but he’s more impressed with how well you pull it off. All that black, yet you still wear it so well. He’s curious about how you do your makeup, so if he gets the chance, he’ll sit next to you and watch you do it.

One time he asked if you dressed like this to make you feel better about yourself. You simply replied no, just saying that you liked the style for how it looked. He was confused for a second, but he took that to heart.

Although he wasn’t the biggest fan of what you collected, he sure loved hearing you tell him all about your collections. Showing him different bones, which animals they came from, all the stories behind it. It was just so interesting to hear you talk about it.

Raph:

Raph loves your style. He can’t get enough of it. You just look so cool and careless, and he’s absolutely here for it. He insisted that you take him shopping at all the stores that you go to, because he really wants to try this style out. But, his final selling point was when he found out that people put spikes on clothes. From that day onward, he never went out looking the same ever again.

However, as much as he may have admired your taste in fashion, he didn’t have the same fondness for your hobbies. Okay, collecting is one thing. It’s cool to see all the different things people collect…but come on, does it really have to be dead things? Like…what about comic books? Or video games? Even rocks! But you choose to collect dead animals. Gross.

Mikey:

Mikey likes your outfits, but he thinks they lack a bit of…color. And variation. And…okay, maybe he’s not the biggest fan of your style. He doesn’t hate it, but he could never see himself in your clothes. Inversely to Raph, he’s the one to take you shopping to try out some new clothes. You always go with him, but every time, you end up picking your style over anything Mikey suggests. No offense to Mikey.

When Mikey heard about your collecting hobby, he was very intrigued. But once he learned what it was…he was less intrigued. It was certainly an interesting selection of items to collect, but not so much for him. But living in the sewers, you kinda find a lot of that stuff lying around, so sometimes he picks up a few things to give to you the next time he sees you.

Donnie:

Donnie absolutely adores your style. One of the main reasons why is that one of his favorite bands in the world dresses very similarly to how you do, so he pretty much just becomes a fangirl for your outfits.

Oftentimes he will send you pictures of celebrities or fictional characters he likes, asking if you can dress up like them. He gets very happy and excited when you respond with a picture of yourself in the outfit that he asked for.

But he wouldn’t just ask you to do that without giving anything back. So in return, he helps you expand your collection of weird dead things. He looked online for how to taxidermize at home, and started helping you make your own taxidermied animals. He didn’t have too much interest in things like that, but the process of taxidermying the animal was super fascinating to him, so it was cool for the both of you.

final batch of earthspark s1 episodes post

One thing that I kind of sort of praised in my first earthspark post, the slow trickle of information the show was giving us, is something that I look upon much less favorably now that S1 one has ended. Not because a slow trickle of information itself is bad, but because in this batch of episodes more than any other it was clear that the information hasn't been always given in a way that makes sense from a story prospective. Rather it's been given in a way that very clearly telegraphs "okay the writers want to introduce this now, so here it is". Most egregiously with the backstory on the kids sleeves. Why only NOW, twenty episodes in, was the crew heading down to Teletraan I to google the info about the Prime that gave them the sleeves? Well, because the sleeves and the emberstone were about to be plot relevant.

This is also something I remembering thinking with the energon bear in the last batch of episodes too, in that NO ONE really questions or follows up on why the the fuck the bear was like that. Which doesn't really make sense, except from the Doylist perspective that it looks to be like A Plot For A Later Episode, when the energon waste dumping might become relevant.

And these episodes only bring up even MORE questions that should have been asked in-story but aren't, like what the fuck was up with the tunnels and the doors and the dweller inside them.

AND my point STILL stands about wanting more of the OG bots. It's even worse when there's five kids instead of two. Once again I'm sorry kiddos.

Like the best "finale" per say in terms of action was undoubtedly the first batch of episodes, where big bots were fighting big bots. I was really hoping the actual finale would bring more of that when the second batch "finale" felt pretty lackluster in comparison. But then this finale had the OG bots out of commission for the ENTIRE thing. There were some visually cool moments (Mandroid's terrifying new look, Croft getting fucking vaporized) and fun moments (Schloder becoming part of the team) but. Idk. I think about the first batch of episodes and how much fun I had watching them and the potential I thought they held, and the show hasn't quite hit anything higher than that for me. Yet. Curious to what a season two could be about with the main antagonist gone and most of the intro-to-their-alt-modes and learning-about-themselves-as-terrans stuff is out of the way. I thought maybe with the kill and heal waves going over the entire earth they might cut to some as yet unseen bots as a little teaser of things that might come but nope. (I still might bet on that tying into a plot of a potential season two though.)

All that being said I love what Hashtag has going on. Both overall and in-particular her thing with Starscream this batch, which was giving Armada Starscream & Alexis vibes for sure. I actually mentioned in my earthspark post that I started for the second batch of episodes (that I never managed to finish and post): Hashtag is my fav of the new kids. She's so #cringebutfree, pun not intended, and I love that for her. Also she a has rad alt-mode and color scheme and her satellite turns into a little ponytail. How cute is that. Also digged how they had Twitch gearing up for an arc about being the team leader in the previous batch of episodes and then there were moments where she was making calls when it was just down to her and Nightshade/Bumblebee etc in this batch. Would love to see that expended upon even more in potential future eps. I love her. Can I get a yeah women?

Also the way that Megatron (along with the majority of the OG bots) had so few lines this batch BUT almost every single line Megatron DID have managed to showcase his Scottish twang? They did that for ME. Thank you Mr McCann.

tl;dr I wish we got more (back)story based on the things already teased/things already shown, and in a way that made more narrative sense, and I really REALLY wish there were more OG bots. And at this point it kind of hurt my enjoyment of the show a tiny bit. It was still fine and I understand that as a show for kids it's very good and also, as always, not really for me but for children. And I'm still hoping there is more potential than what season one has given, which I don't think is an unreasonable thing to hope for. Like remember how rough and kind lame season one of Cyberverse was? Yeah. There's still a ton of potential here. Here's to hoping. I will still undoubtedly be tuning into season two if when it gets made.

Sicktember Day 8 - Intense Coddling Alt.1 Soft Pajamas - Steddie - Streamer AU

After streaming for over two years, long-time followers of Eddie (and Steve, Robin, Nancy and Chrissy) are aware of what it means when Eddie appears on screen wearing his old, well loved pajama pants. They’re nothing special, some grey ‘roots’ sweatpants that have become worn thin and thread bare on the inside. Usually, the pants get paired with one of Wayne’s old tees he’d given Eddie, a bright red ‘Bachman Turner Overdrive’ one that’s got more than a few holes throughout. 

Starting his stream, he’s got his headphones on and his right leg pulled up to his chest as he sits in his black Razer chair. He’s been feeling run down all day, in a way that has that foreboding feeling of getting sick. His throat’s not exactly sore, but it’s not perfect either. His body feels uncomfortable and his skin feels sensitive, even a few sneezes and the sniffles have started making an appearance as the day has progressed. Though he’s not in the most energetic mood, he doesn’t want to skip streaming, and he’s somehow still in the mood to play a little something. 

Oh shit, it's the pants!

Watching the comments, he laughs a little, able to tell which fans have been with him longer. Eddie rubs his face, waiting for others to join as he fiddles with his controller, going through options on the game's home screen. After another minute, he coughs and takes a sip of his water, then starts once he sees a good amount of people. 

“Hey guys, thought we could play some Skyrim tonight. Not sure how long I’ll be on, probably shorter than usual, but wanted to at least a little streaming in,” he explains, shivering a little. 

He and Steve keep the air cold in their house, and while usually it feels good, today it’s only making the twenty six year old feel freezing. He rubs his face again, a tic that happens often when he’s sick, and leans back, clicking through options.

Shit, sweatpants and a colored tee? Hope you’re not dying!

“Yeah yeah, give me shit about a red shirt,” Eddie says once his headset is back on. His voice isn’t as loud or vibrant as it usually is. “It’s my uncle’s, so be nice or he’ll come for you.”

Ugh. Uncle needs better taste. Looks like a tomato. 

Skyrim? I vote Dead by Daylight, way more fun. 

Eddie sniffles and chuckles, reading the chat. He’s always entertained when people try to figure out his life. Many have tried, and no one has succeeded. If they just googled ‘Michigan’ and ‘Munson wife murder’ they’d figure everything out. 

“We’re doing Skyrim, sorry. It’s not as intense as Dead by Daylight and I don’t feel like trying to kill a bunch of zombies right now,” the long haired man explains, clicking through to his last save point. “To catch anyone up, my guy is a dark elf. Got attacked by a vampire last time I played, so that’s cool, but it sucks because the sun weakens the fuck out of me.” 

As he runs through the hall of the dead, Eddie feels a throb in the base of his skull, making him groan and blink hard. Half an hour in, as he attempts to kill Eola, his nose twitches, and the guitarist can feel that coldish feeling in his head start to make its presence known again. He tries to strike, but his eyes flutter shut, and he just barely manages to pause and move his headset mic away, turning and pressing his face against his shoulder. 

“iiHKgTschew! hiKGshh’EW! hhikSHhew! Jesus Christ, sorry guys,” Eddie wipes at his nose and clears his throat, feeling congestion start to settle in against the front of his head.

“Great, hostile villagers,” Eddie deadpans, shifting his position so his other leg is now the one raised. “If I can’t beat her this time I’m going to leave and find somewhere else,” he adds, swinging his sword again. 

After being killed and respawning, Eddie heads out of the area, not bothering with the annoyance of the woman again. As he wanders, he runs past a few people he doesn’t feel like possibly picking a fight with, toggling over to the map. He’s starting to feel worse, as the time ticks by, trying to smother a few more sets of sneezes away from his mic. Congestion only thickens as he talks, and by the time he’s hit almost ninety minutes of streaming, people are commenting on it. 

I think your mic is fucking with your voice. 

You sound like shit. Are you sick? 

Of course he’s sick, he only wears those pants when he’s sick. 

“Do I really only wear these pants when I’m sick?” Eddie feels curious about it. He’s sure it’s true, since so many fans notice tiny details about him. 

“You guys caught me, I guess. Not feeling my best tonight, think I’m probably coming down with a little something.” 

A few minutes later, Eddie hears his door open. Steve walks in, carrying a smoothie from Smoothie King. Eddie pauses and smiles up at him, rubbing his face. 

“God, people were right, you do look sick,” Steve worries gently, pressing a hand to Eddie’s forehead. 

“Feels a little warm. I got you a smoothie, and I can make you toast if you want.” 

Omfg STEVE HI 

Love you Steve Harrington! 

Steddie forever! What does he think of you wearing colors?!

“Tha’gks baby,” Eddie smiles up at him, taking the drink and sipping it. It feels good on his throat, his lymph nodes in his neck starting to ache.

“Nah, red’s not my color. Already go’tden shit for it on here,” he sniffles soupily, coughing into his wrist. 

Steve snorts and shakes his head, running a hand through his boyfriend's hair.

“Take a break soon, you need to rest.” 

“God you’re such a mother hen. I will in li’gke ten minutes,” Eddie coughs and rubs his eyes. “Sorry guys,” he turns back around, starting the game up again.

By the time he’s turned off the stream and uploaded it to YouTube- ‘Skyrim + Fever = Boring Exploring’, Eddie heads to find his boyfriend, feeling definitely worse than he has been. The other man is scrolling through Twitter? or maybe Tumblr while he sits on the couch, Parks and Rec on. 

“Ok, I mighdt need to head to bed early,” the long haired man informs, plopping down next to Steve and pressing his face on his shoulder, head aching. 

“Let’s get you into bed, Eeyore.”

Honestly the design was completely based on me but like. 6% cooler (/hj)

♤I do dress alt quite often- but I don't have a harness/accessory for my chest area- which I find makes it look kinda bland. So I tried to find some accessories and saw that! (I do layer a few necklaces+ a choker sometimes though) actually I was thinking of getting something like what Dexx wears

♤And the two "belts"(?) are inspired by scene/emo aesthetic where people will sometimes layer belts.

♤The garters(?) Are actually inspired by some that I own! Just thicker and more stylized.

♤The combat boots I had to hold back on their design- 'cause as much as I enjoy platforms and demonia boots n stuff- I can't be drawing such detailed boots everytime + that wouldn't be very efficient on the battlefield.

♤The hair, well- my hair is half shaved, and I plan to be getting my hair shaved like Dexx's soon- I've had the idea for a while now.

♤The peircings: I've got my ears pierced x3 on each lobe. I don't have my lip pierced nor fo I plan on it- but I think it suited the design, and I also found it didn't look busy enough in that area of the face.

♡I've always been a fan of asymmetry, hence the gloves.

♤For the silhouette, I personally often love giving myself a triangle or inverted triangle silhouette when I get dressed

Ex. Muscle shirt+ baggy joggers +big boots or giant hoodie+ shorts, I like for it to not look the same all throughout the character!

♤Also, now that I think of it- the outfit is definetly semi inspired by Galo Thymos' outfit from promare.

♤I personally wear lots of black (-big surprise, I know) but I knew I couldn't have the whole outfit be black cause obviously we need team colors- and I'm actually quite happy with color placement! Some things were already planned out (Goggles' lenses and pants) but others (boot laces) were not. I had to fiddle with it during the coloring stage.

To add onto that, I left the pants looked kinda boring- so I took inspiration from the way Pyro's pants(?) Are dirty and did that too!

Sorry for the rant- hope you were ready for that lol

I was also dreaming about something similar about us getting banner BL, where we get Felix, Sylvain, Ashe, and ascended Dimitri, who wears his clothes from the AM mural, with Gilbert as a free unit. At that time, the AM members were all complete. For the church banner I was dreaming about us getting Rhea, Cyril, Manuela, and ascended Flayn or Seteth, who are dressed in Nabatean outfit similar to a Sothis's outfit. with Alois as a free unit. But well, after all I'm glad we finally get Felix and Rhea, even if Sylvain and Ingrid are weird.

I wasn't thinking of a BL only banner but it was a wonderful surprise. And not even a BL banner but a Dimitri childhood friend banner (plus Rhea)! Plus, this Ingrid is the one who never betrays her nation so that's super cool.

But I can understand why people are not happy with this banner and why it is weird:

It's not an Engage banner. So far, they have had one banner. They really aren't trying to milk this new game at all. Although Houses still needs to add more characters from the game, Engage is the new game and should be adding some of their characters.

Rhea. It does make sense she would be with the BL crowd because they are the only ones who always side with her, and I am happy she is finally in the game as a base unit. But maaaaaan, wish it was Ashe. It was probably not Ashe because god forbid if a banner has more males than females.

crochet club with my pals :)

During my time in Omura as an ALT, I've been so lucky to make some amazing friends with similar interests as me. One of those interests is crocheting! If you read one of my first posts on this blog, you'll know that I whiled away my final quarantine days in the US before my departure to Japan making a huge colorful cardigan out of yarn. Since my time in Japan has started, I've met many friends interested in crocheting and knitting, and we started an ALT crochet club of sorts in my town. I wanted to share a little about the experience here!

Our very first crochet club meeting was deemed to be a "stitch and bitch," so essentially we drank a lot of wine, complained about our lives, and crocheted. Some of my friends were new to crochet but interested in learning, so my very talented friend Roni and I tried to teach them the basics. At this gathering, we mostly just got drunk and not much crocheting was done, but it was very fun. Literally the only picture I have from this day is my friend Chrystal very drunk with a tiny crocheted hat on.

A year or more passed before we had another crochet club meeting. We decided to reinstate the club with more focus on actual crocheting and less focus on getting shitfaced and met on weekday nights instead. We usually would order takeout or cook something together, then crochet with some kind of trashy reality TV show playing in the background.

We would sometimes crochet in different places, usually rotating between everyone's houses so each person could take turns hosting. Eventually some of our Japanese friends joined and we got to spend time at their homes with their families eating homecooked meals.

Once or twice we also crocheted while having a picnic outside!

That was also the day I tried to make my cat-loving coworker a birthday gift, and brought this monstrosity into the world.

Needless to say, I didn't give it to her, but Kiwi dug it out of wherever I had it socked away and it has become one of his favorite toys <3

In October of last year, we got to do something really special. Our friend and coordinator got us a spot in a tent at a local festival, and we got to sell some of the things we made. It was really exciting. I made small flower earrings and my friends made many other things like bags, stuffed animals, scrunchies, scarves, and hats. I didn't make much money and I think I only sold two pairs of earrings (both to people I know haha) but it was a really cool experience. My partner even bought some of my earrings to support me :')

If you've noticed, I haven't shared much of what I've created from crochet club in this blog post, and the reason is because there isn't much. I hit a wall with my crocheting early on and kept making mistake after mistake after mistake. I wanted to just give up on ever crocheting again because I couldn't make anything great like my very talented friends were making. It was really awful and I felt really down on myself. But when I decided to make earrings for the festival in October, I finally was able to make something I was proud of for the first time in a long time. Now I'm trying hard not to compare myself too much to others and just try to improve my skills one step at time. And most importantly, I want to have fun! Of course crochet should be fun and not stressful. So I want to take it easy and just enjoy the process more.

The friends I've made here are amazing, and I'm so grateful to spend time with them doing the things we love together. I hope we can keep enjoying crochet together for the rest of this year before I return home <3
