Okay, how about this:

Characters A and B are part of the same social group / team / squad, what have you. Character B is normally quiet / reserved / laconic even under the best of circumstances, so no one notices when they get sick and are even more quiet, more reserved, more laconic than usual.

Character A finally catches on when they catch them sneezing in private, but aren't able to get them to engage or talk about it in any way.

But eventually B comes to them, silently, and just... folds into them. Exhausted, sick, unable to hide it anymore, needing help. And A is so surprised and concerned that they resolve to take control of the situation, and orders B to submit to their care.

Lmao I’ve been sick all weekend at least we got it out now

I just got home from a week and a half of literally back to back travel for work meetings and my friends wedding where I got to be a bridesmaid.

The wedding was fun and I made friends but the bride was sick and of course since before today I was running on 43 hours of no sleep… I wake up today sick too.

I’m so frustrated but at least it’s before my visit to see @dontfeeltoohot ?!?!

why do colds suck SO much when you have one ugh

something that has no business being as hot as it is: characters that do a lot of public speaking catching a cold

they don’t even necessarily have to be fully sick. they could literally just have the sniffles, but if their voice is somewhat congested or hoarse? it impacts them so much.

they would easily be able to hide the fact that they’re under the weather if they didn’t have to talk, but now EVERYONE knows.

and nobody really knows what to do??? like the character seems fine, but they sound sick. should they acknowledge it?? would that be awkward?? should they just let it be?? but what if the character needs help??

and then of course you have the people that are closer to the character that can read them like a book. they know exactly how the character is feeling and they make them tea afterwards and tell them to rest their voice.
