#healthcare systems are racist too

Some healthcare advice for my lovely ladies here..
I was just reading this New York Times article about how women of color experience Perimenopause and Menopause differently from the conventionally established standards according to the White Race.
Tumblr media
Clearly, women from different races have very different experiences, duration, and intensity of symptoms. Just a gentle reminder to all my wonderful women here: do not ignore what your body tells you. Healthcare systems are biased to ignore women's pain, doctors have limited understanding of our anatomies, and these issues are far worse when we account race into the equation as well. Speak up if your doctor doesn't take you seriously.
Also, always remember to get scanned for breast and cervical cancers. Keep an eye out for anything unusual. Love y'all! ❤️
The article is behind a paywall. Please message me if you want to read the whole article!

I remember reading a post that men are the oppressor class so why would they bother to dismantle systemic patriarchy when they actively benefit from its existence? And as I read it, I thought, Damn, so an entire half of the population can never conceivably help us, and the people who love men in their lives are doomed. It wasn't a helpful post. It basically felt, here's some actual material analysis on feminism and said, That trying to educate and make men be part of feminism is fundamentally a flawed effort, because again, they are the oppressor class, why should they care about uplifting the oppressed?
And it made me think about this very good pamphlet I read, explaining how the white worker remained complacent for so long because at least they weren't a Black slave. And that the author theorized the reason labor movements never truly created exceptional, radical change is because of internal racism (which I find true) and failure to uplift black people. And the author listed common outlooks/approaches to this problem, and one of them was: "We should ignore the white folks entirely and hold solidarity with only other POC, and the countries in the Global South. Who needs those wishy-washy white fragile leftists who don't care about what we think or want?" (roughly paraphrased.)
And the author said, This sounds like the most leftist and radical position, but it's totally flawed because it absolves us of our responsibility to dismantle white supremacy for the sake of our fellow marginalized people, and we are basically ignoring the problem. And that blew me away because this is a position so many activists have, to just ignore the white folks and focus entirely on our own movements. I wish I knew the name of the actual pamphlet, so I could quote entire passages at you.
But I feel this is the same for men. Obviously, we should prioritize and have women-led and women-focused feminism. But saying that men are an oppressor class so they can't reliably be counted upon in feminist activism--it's such a huge oversimplification. And mainly, I'm a Muslim, and I've been treated with plenty of misogyny from Muslim men. And also plenty of misogyny from Muslim women. And I love my male friends, I want men to be part of the movement, and I dunno. Thinking about communities, movements, and the various ways we fail each other and what it means to be truly intersectional keeps me up at night.
I don't know the pamphlet you're talking about but I've read and been taught similar. There's a reason much of my anti-racism is so feminist and most of my feminism is anti-racist. Many people coming at this problem from a truly intersectional angle have seen that there is no freedom to be had without joining hands across the community. Not picking and choosing our allies based off of identity but off of behavior.
As used in a previous example, a white abled moderately wealthy man saying "wow Healthcare sucks in this country, why does this system suck so bad" should be told "hey, this system sucks so bad because it's built off of sexism, racism, classism, and ableism. You want to improve the system? Fix those things and it will be much better in the long run" and not "shut up you're a man. Healthcare is always going to be better for you". The second response doesn't fix that Healthcare is still a problem even if you are at the "top" of the privilege ladder. If we want true change, we have to dismantle the entire system at it's core and build it up without the yuck, otherwise you're gunna get to the top and realize this place sucks too.
Something something if the crabs worked together to hold each other up, they could all get out of the bucket and be free.

I feel like I'm constantly talking like a broken record, lol, leftists this, leftists that.
Sometimes it's surreal to see myself typing that and agreeing with it, given I used to be very left wing myself until the response on the left to October 7th. And I hate the idea that it's giving other people the impression that I'm conservative--I'm not. I have some views that I'd share with conservatives--being a Zionist being one of them... obviously.
But I'm literally bisexual. I support same-sex marriage. I think democracy is the best form of government, that the US should have universal healthcare, should abolish the Electoral College (National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, I'm praying for you). I think the invasion of Ukraine is a monstrous crime and Putin is a threat to world peace. I think systemic racism is a real thing in the United States, as is police brutality against black people. I think vaccines work, and mandates are a good idea. I think most right-wing politicians are right-wing populists more interested in causing democratic backsliding and peddling conspiracies than they are in fixing literally anything.
But I can't call myself a leftist anymore, even with this set of values. Why? Because--oh, God--I believe Israel has the right to exist. And to defend itself.
I'm not even some radical on Israel unlike some friends of mine--I think it's a travesty that Israel hasn't yet legalized same-sex marriage or established a civil marriage system. I think the 2018 Nation-State Law was racist in making Arabic no longer a co-official language with Hebrew. I think Bibi is one of those aforementioned populists. I think Israel has a democratic backsliding problem.
But the rest of the left--the rest of the queer community, especially--has made it clear in no uncertain terms that I am not welcome among them anymore. Like, they genuinely think I'm a genocide defending fascist, which is just so weird to me sometimes. Yeah, me, the fascist who thinks queer rights should be non-negotiable in any society. And they, who are posting pro-Hamas slogans, are the ones standing against genocide and bigotry. Uh huh. Oo-kay.
I don't want to constantly be saying 'Oh, the left...' and 'Leftists when...' like I'm some boomer posting shitty memes on Facebook. The right has its share of problems, too. And I'm sure they'll do something soon to make their antisemitism known as well--especially as the 2024 presidential election draws nearer.
But right now, the immediate threat isn't in Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, or whoever. I'm more worried about being accosted by pro-Palestine protestors with something to prove than I am about neo-Nazi gangs. And so are most Jews right now. And that's why I'm posting about the left more than the right here... even though my values are mostly left.
Oh, the wonders of being politically homeless!

do u really not see the difference btwn writing fanfic on the internet and buying a game whose storyline is actively being written by white supremacists and having the money go directly into the pocket of the most vocal & influential terf in the UK? that's not even touching all of the other racist and offensive bs in her series inc her antisemitism, appropriating first nations cultures, her asian racism, etc? i guess thats why you dont have 'antisemitics dni' on your blog
First, let me be clear – I do not give one single shit about Harry Potter. They are the best memories of my extremely shitty adolescence, I still read fanfic from time to time, but other than that, if I never hear the word "Harry Potter" again it will be too soon. I care about the fact that you clowns are
encouraging bullies and endangering mentally ill marginalized fans
leeching the air from leftist and queer discourse
fuelling a Western culture war that distracts from combating systemic transphobia
making suffering Black and brown communities, who mostly see white and Western trans people, think that trans people don't have any real problems beyond video games
Now, on to your ask:
I said never said not buying the game was the same as writing fanfic on the internet. I said that the furor over buying the game is leading to everyone who had anything to do with Harry Potter, including just writing fanfic, being bullied. I've had to unfollow so many people for reblogging posts attacking people for being in the *fandom*.
Asking people to refrain from doing something to prove that they care, especially demanding that they don't, has never in the history of activism worked. Black people have been speaking out against copaganda shows forever and STILL get harrassed. Indigenous people have been asking people to boycott Avatar and gotten nothing. Some people comply, but more do the thing simply out of contrarianism, and the entire issue becomes a culture war divided along political affiliation. People on the right go out of their way to do the thing, the people on the center and center-left won't really care, and people who identify as leftist divorce themselves even more from the rest of the left as being no better than the right, which eventually devastating results when it comes to actual elections and agitating for political change.
What works a lot better is harm reduction. Pirating is harm reduction, asking the HP fandom to offset JKR's fuckery by making their own merch, promoting indie games and donating to trans healthcare funds is harm reduction. People won't stand for being policed, but they like giving and also not paying for stuff with a clear conscience. You would have raised so much fucking money and promoted so many different things in all this time you've spent giving the game negative engagement clicks and keeping it trending on social media so long after its release.
You keep insisting that people shouldn't be fans because JKR equals her fandom with her own influence. This is called buying into the right-wing narrative. The woman is delusional (I can't think of a non-ableist word atm, and I honestly think that she's not all stable) and you're enabling her and her terf cult. We created the online HP fandom ourselves back in the aughts, before there was any merch, before movie rights were ever sold to WB, a full decade before her advertising machine ever woke up to the fact that an internet fandom existed. JKR has lost relevance for HP fans a long time ago; imagine the slap in the face for her if the fandom starts countering her bigotry by very prominently engaging in trans activism? The JKR terf cult in the HP fandom are a minority, like TERFs themselves (they're only so loud because the right-wing promotes the shit out of them). The vast majority of fans are just the kind of vaguely well-meaning cis people who don't agree with transphobes but are pretty ignorant about trans issues. And I do mean the vast majority, because literally a billion people grew up on her books and only a bare fraction is on social media at all, and even fewer even see the leftist drive to boycott the franchise.
Let's talk demographics. Because of the aforementioned vastness of consumers, the majority of HP fans are cis het, abled, neurotypical Millennials. Because of the way internet penetration works, the majority of HP fans online and even in fandom are white or Western. Leftist spaces mostly attract young and marginalized people, and transformative fandom is full of neurodivergent women and queer people. Which means the majority of people you're reaching are young queer neurodivergent people who have limited economic power themselves. And the people most vulnerable to and impacted by policing and harrassment are trans, Black and brown, Jewish, mentally ill, poor. Do you see the problem? You're policing the very bottom rungs of the socio-economic ladder on the off-chance of maybe influencing a privileged few who might give a damn.
This is literally why we say that boycotts, especially over social media, don't fucking work. Firstly because they penalize the most disenfranchised consumers, it's hard to reach enough people to even explain why they matter, it's hard to keep up with the constant discourse and changing information, and it relies entirely on performance. Someone can stay quiet or nod along furiously to whatever you're saying and then just...go out and buy the thing. Social censure doesn't work when you have the option of not having to face the consequences. Contrary to hellsite opinion, the Fantastic Beasts franchise died because it sucked, and Harry Potter is dying because it's fading from relevance and JKR is being an embarrassment. The wider market doesn't even know y'all exist.
As for the game being racist and antisemitic...you come on my blog, a South Asian who has been in fandom for twenty years, and try to tell me about racism in media???? NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF ALL MEDIA IS RACIST AND ANTISEMITIC YOU ABSOLUTE CLOWN. I'm from South Asia, our children grow up on books written by colonizers! LORD OF THE RINGS is white supremacy! NARNIA is white supremacy! Disney and Marvel is one of the biggest figures in US military industrial complex that razed the Middle East to the ground. It's so ubiquitous that we have to accept the racism and white supremacy as a matter of course to engage with any Western media! And even then fandom is so racist it's hard to even exist in it! We get run out of it when we try to talk about it. You suck on white supremacy every single day you live like it's your Mum's teat! Do you know what it's like to hear whiteys ranting that people who consume this one game they hate are being antisemitic and racist??? While still fawning??? Over cop shows???? And Disney???? And sending Black people??? Death threats??? Over a game???
I don't say "anti-Semites DNI" for the same reason I don't say "racists DNI". Nobody identifies as a racist or antisemite, that's not how systemic oppression works. Radfem and Zionist and Communist are political identities. Radical feminism is underpinned by transphobia and racism, Zionism is currently entrenched in Palestine occupation, Western communists refuse to acknowledge USSR and Global South genocides. See how that works?
Bitch, you didn't just come at me about JKR's indigenous cultural appropriation when I was among the few who were trying to discourage people from supporting Fantastic Beasts back in 2016 and literally got flamed for it. You people did not give a single shit about Natives back then, and you don't give one now. Just like you don't actually care about Jews and never did. I literally never heard about why and how openly alt-right people keep getting this kind of power and position in the gaming industry. Conversations about antisemitism in gaming and antisemitic tropes in entertainment haven't gotten this much traction. No wider revelations about how entertainment media directly funding and promoting social harms. But sure, it's about antisemitism and racism and has absolutely nothing to do with a mess of white queers realizing they can weaponize it like a cudgel against anyone they believe are against them. We know you whites. You care about excuses to take the moral high ground without having to do any self-interrogation or cost to yourself.
Finally, to give y'all one example of where the current discourse around this stupid shit is at:
Tumblr media
Fuck you.

[“I do not mean to minimize the challenges of care work. Nor do I want to romanticize caregivers as saintly, self-sacrificing, feminized figures without needs of their own. Ugh! But my own experience suggests that doing care work can and does transform the lives of caretakers in positive ways. There is “care gain” just as there is disability gain. If care were integrated fully and equally into our lived realities of kinship, rather than outsourced or privatized in misogynistic, racist systems, its value would be visible. If disability were part of our collective kinship histories, rather than produced as an individual trauma for both the disabled person and the mother who has to figure out how to meet that person’s care needs alone, we would be in a better position to reimagine caretaking beyond its current racist and sexist configurations.
Too often, instead of challenging or transforming the problematic systemic dimensions of caregiving, we aspire to the false independence of masculine subjectivity, complete with that diamond-shitting dog. Our devaluing of care, of interdependence, of disability gain, and our lack of any sense of disability caregiving lineage lead not to freedom but rather to denial and ableism. This results in the perpetuation of unequal systems of care. If we deny the very need for care and care work as a natural and inevitable—and potentially positive—aspect of life, how can we possibly challenge the structural racism and sexism of care systems?
The fear of being burdened by the care of another, of having one’s hard-fought feminist freedom curtailed, and of ultimately being a burden to another shapes the fear and stigma underlying ableism. This enables white women like me to ignore and disidentify with the caregiver lineages from which we came. Missing from this is any specific history of caregiving. Instead, care looks like the abject plight of the great sea of (race unmarked) women. When faced with the care needs of family members, white cishet women are encouraged to “outsource” to BIPOC women rather than challenge their male partners to participate equally. Instead of challenging the public systems of school, work, and healthcare to include disabled people at the center rather than the margins of their funding and care structures, we retreat into the fantasy that we are somehow immune to disability.”]

Why we need Land Back
We should talk about current issues Indigenous people face.
In Canada at least there are many problems still happening.
Indigenous children are being ripped away from their loving families and put into foster care simply because the families are poor or the parents struggle with mental illness or something like that.
Women are being forcibly sterilized against their will.
Girls, women, and 2 spirit people are being kidnapped and sold into sex slavery and are also getting murdered and raped and their bodies are being thrown into the landfills.
The land that Indigenous communities need for their cultures and livelihoods is being destroyed by resource extraction companies that cut through the landscape and leave open wounds, that pollute the land, air, and water, and destroy the biodiversity and health of the ecosystems.
There is police brutality against Indigenous people, and people are killed by the police every day. There are hate crimes against Indigenous people.
Social services on reserves, including education, healthcare, utilities, housing, etc, are horrifically underfunded, and are funded much less well than the same social services off of reserves.
There’s discrimination in employment, in healthcare, in pretty much everything. And Indigenous people are kept in poverty and homelessness by the discriminatory society.
We need Land Back.
Land Back will allow Indigenous people to stop their land from being destroyed. Their cultures and livelihoods and mental health and spiritual health and well-being is so deeply tied to the land/nature. And actually, having them be able to effectively protect the land helps all of us because all humans are dependant upon the land even if we don’t realize it.
It will also allow Indigenous communities to force the government to stop discriminating against them by giving them worse social services. It will allow them to force the government to give them the same social services everyone else gets.
It will also allow them to force the government to stop taking their children. All children deserve to be with the families who love them and they should not be ripped away from their families, because this causes deep and devastating lifelong trauma.
It would allow Indigenous communities to stop rapists and traffickers and murderers from entering their communities. It will allow them to force rapists and traffickers and murderers out of their communities. And it will allow them to make sure every case of people getting raped or kidnapped or trafficked or killed is properly investigated and the victims are saved and the perpetrators get justice. Same with other hate crimes.
It will allow Indigenous people to have the power necessary to push back on police brutality and build better models of law enforcement, including community-ventured models.
Indigenous communities will also likely get a flow of money that they can use to lift their people out of poverty. They’ll have the power to stop healthcare discrimination and forcible sterilization. And they’ll have the power to force us to give justice to unethical healthcare professionals and to force systemic change in the healthcare system so that medical mistreatment doesn’t happen.
Indigenous people would also have the opportunity to do more outreach to settler communities and teach them about Indigenous culture and values and stuff, so that people learn to be less racist and discriminatory.
Land Back will help pretty much every marginalized community because stopping racism and discrimination for one race usually leads to there being decreased racism and discrimination for other races too.
Ultimately Land Back is about giving Indigenous people and communities the power to keep themselves and each other safe in a society that is actively against them. It is also about keeping the ecosystems that we all rely upon safe, and about stopping discrimination and racism.
Giving Indigenous people power to protect themselves and their communities isn’t going to prevent any other community from protecting themselves. It will create more equality and social justice for everyone in Canada.
I support Land Back. I’m a settler girl and I support Land Back, and you should too.

I think it sucks how I'll never be taken seriously when I try to get medical help because of my medical history of being hospitalized for psychiatric disorders. I've seen a bunch of doctors to try and figure out what the actual fuck is wrong with my body because I keep getting extremely dizzy and my heart rate spikes whenever I stand up and my body is just. Constantly in noticeable amount of pain especially with ANY kind of physical exertion (ie. walking or standing up or even sitting down. Any movement really). And none of the doctors will take me seriously because they either pass it off as "yeah anxiety gives you joint pain it happens to everyone eventually" or "people with mental disorders tend to take things dramatically so don't worry about it too much". All my appointments with doctors immediately end when they ask about medical history. Like it's just not possible that there's something else going on. Yet when I go to my general doctor for like a cold or something they insist on drug testing me. When I asked why they seemed so uncomfortable and just went "well.. people with mental illness crumble to drug addiction alot so just to be safe..." . Like why is it that they won't take me seriously because I'm mentally ill but they also use it in order to make the assumption that I'm on drugs constantly? Like I get the precaution or whatever but jfc stay consistent with it at least.. this happens especially a lot with my Korean doctors (I'm Korean. I'm not being racist this is just what I've noticed). Mental illness is SO stigmatized in Korea and because all the korean doctors I'm meeting are older immigrants i think that's still a mindset that they're carrying with them during consultations. I mean I see it in my own parents too like they jokingly brought up me needing a cane because "[im] so weak like a cripple that [i] can't even climb up the stairs". And I asked them as a half joke if I should get a cane and they laughed and went "good luck paying for that when you're an adult we're not funding you to be lazy though". Like in what world is that okay to say... like you acknowledged that our Healthcare system is fucked up and severely skewed against those in poverty (often those who need healthcare the most) and think it's a funny joke. I just think it's sad how much some people are controlled by their old biases and assumptions of mental illness and people who struggle with it.

watching smallville is helping me unpack the ethos of white America.
They completely misrepresented human nature in order to perpetuate capitalism and colonialism.
Instead of the reality of humans being and existing as animals within nature and noting that our evolution and beginning of society was because of our innate sense of empathy and drive for community, our first sign of civilization being that of a healed bone showing that someone protected, fed, cared for, etc. someone else while they healed, we developed sciences, math, art, healing practices not simply for ourselves but to connect and enjoy one another, we have a manufactured reality that we are “born in sin,” innately greedy, selfish, yearning for power. This manufactured misrepresentation is because we are only “allowed” to study white men. Value and humanity is only allotted to white men who now represent human nature. We ignore and devalue indigenous teachings and practices. This makes us accepts the ideas and implications of capitalism and colonialism. We accept the idea that we need to be policed and governed despite the fact that crime diminishes without poverty (why aren’t white neighborhoods as policed and still safe and functioning??) and our accountability to community is what kept society safe and functioning. We accept imperialism and European paternalism. We accept individualism over collective. It endangers us. We accept racism: “there’s always going to be an in group and out group. An us vs them.” Something I’ve heard from peers in “anti-racist” classrooms. We accept this murder of the earth.
We accept the idea that we have to do things. I just realized how powerful the joke, “all I have to do is be Black and die,” is: all we have to do is be and then stop being. We most definitely don’t have to live this uniform, crappy, traumatizing life. We now believe our deserving of love and rest is depending on our productivity. We accept uniform lifestyles despite how unique we all are. We accept unlivable wages, no access to healthcare, inflation, having to pay to exist (food, shelter, water, etc.), horribly lacking miseducation systems, the majority of our lives dedicated to bringing wealth to 1% who spend it on sick shit. We accept wage slavery. We accept chattel slavery (mass incarceration). We accept the fact that children must be enslaved and maimed to give us phones and clothing. We blindly accept propaganda. We accept the fact that America can not fund any of these things for community but can fund wars and ethnic cleansing. But if they were to do anything remotely similar here, we would meddle in their continent for years!! We claim the existence of first world countries and this world countries when our “first world country” is surviving on the land, labor and people of “third world countries.” We accept food apartheid that prevents a lot of people from boycotting heinous companies. We accept the alienation and are lonely with no sense of community.
We accept the idea of anarchy as unbridled chaos, raping, pillaging, murder. No. That’s what’s happening now under this policing institution. Under capitalism and colonialism. Smallville ended an episode about a child veteran who lost his life in combat with the line that he sacrificed his life [in the US military] “saving the world.” Nevermind the fact that he enlisted because he was too poor to pursue college and football like he wanted, but to equate, unequivocally, the US military with saving the world was a powerful statement. How unchecked our propaganda media is. To end an episode with this assertion, left no room for it to be questioned: no thought into why the boy was in this foreign country or what he was doing there and how was it “saving the world.” No room for knowledge. I recall photos and accounts that resurface much later detailing what Americans really do in these foreign countries. What they do to the people. “Winners write history.” For the first time, I am able to see just how one-sided mainstream news outlets are. They show, and now force Americans to live in, a false reality. Journalists are supposed to be protected. But apparently only the ‘winner’s’ journalists are.
People like to claim tv shows, social media, etc. isn’t important and shouldn’t be taken serious. To focus of politics in government. This is art. This is what people are spending most of the free time allotted them consuming. This is an institution. Just as government. Just as religion.
Even in their falsehoods, we can still see the truth. Speaking of this institution that has been weaponized by those in power, didn’t Jesus save us? By your own logic, did he not free us from this so called evil human nature? As someone who has descended from people who were enslaved during chattel slavery, my lens for Christianity has always been different. I never identified with the whitewashed, white supremacist, policing, institutional state force misrepresentation of Jesus and questioned the attempts of the Black church to make him so. Why would he subscribe to the made up idealogy of gender that only exist to reinforce white supremacy? Why would he want me silenced? Why do I have to wear a dress? Why is being ladylike important as a Christian? Why would homosexuality be considered wrong while murdering and spreading hatred was not (mistranslation closer to pedophilia and mostly mentioned in the Old Testament)? I learned to contextualize and understand the history during the Bible and its translations over time. I identified with the wooly haired and “burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace” Jesus that was yelling and flipping tables. I identified with the Jesus that was about listening to sex workers and against policing. I identified with Jesus that ate with people deemed unsavory by the white regime and others of his own people that were hypocrites. I identified with the Jesus that sacrificed for his community, died young, and was about love for oneself and one’s neighbors. Religious trauma has pushed many Black spiritualists away, but I urge people to learn from the theology and not from what it has been weaponized to propose. God is in us. We are made in their image. We are reflections of one another. I feel this when I observe nature. When I experience humanity. I see the patterns throughout other religions as well that seem to reinforce this same premise. I recall indigenous cultures that “worship,” another westernized concept, or express gratitude to things in nature by name. Why not if you see these living things just as valuable as you are? Christians express gratitude for these specific things in nature to One being.
I implore people to alchemize their anger and frustration and guilt. Allow these things to radicalize you. What other purpose right now besides liberation?

Watts: Well now, that was almost too easy.
Tyrian: Congratulations on taking over the Remnant healthcare system, good doctor.
Watts: It's easy when you're a genius with an inexhaustable access to Grimm, weapons, and a cartoonishly absurd amount of off-screen time.
Tyrian: What will you do now?
Watts: Why do what I do best; take control of something and make it evil and selfish. And I'll start by squeezing lien out of the terminally ill and chronically sick by charging exorbitant prices for their medications. Diabetics will have to pay 100- No. 200 lien to get their insulin! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
Tyrian: They already do that.
Watts: Wait, really? 200 lien?
Tyrian: It's closer to 300 lien.
Watts: I see. (Nods) Diabolical. Perhaps I haven't been giving the Kingdoms enough credit.
Tyrian: They're certainly not giving diabetics their insulin.
Watts: Oh, it's perfectly fine for me. I still have plenty more ideas to make it more evil. For example, I'll make treatment impossible to access by limiting the number of people who can even become doctors, making the hospitals under staffed! MWAHAHAHAHA-
Tyrian: They do that, too.
Watts: What?! There's no way!
Tyrian: Do you remember doing your residency to become a doctor?
Watts: Er, well, no, but I'm not a medical docter. I have a master's degree in Atlesian bioengineering and a PhD in women's studies.
Tyrian: Women's studies?
Watts: Just because I'm an evil genius does not mean I can't also be a feminist, Tyrian.
Tyrian: Right... Well, you have to complete a residency at a hospital to become a physician and the funds for hiring residents are given by the Kingdoms. So the number of available residency programs, thus doctors, is decided by the Kingdom's budget.
Watts: Not only did they already use my idea, but they made it more sinister and subtle as well! I'm not sure if I should be proud of the Kingdoms or disgusted by them.
Tyrian: Perhaps both?
Watts: Then it seems I will have to do something truly despicable to defeat the Kingdoms!
Watts: I'll make sure that the only people who can afford healthcare are the ones who work for companies that benefit my economic int-
Tyrian: That's called insurance.
Watts: B-BUT, I'll let the hospitals deny treatment to anyone who doesn't have the right-
Tyrian: (Shakes his head)
Watts: No... NO!
Tyrian: Yup. It looks like you're going to have some stiff competition.
Watts: This... This is insane... Next you're going to tell me that the hospitals are just straight up racist!
Tyrian: Funny you should mention that...
Watts: STOP, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW! (Panting) I... I'm feeling faint...
Tyrian: Shall I call an ambulance?
Watts: NO, IT'LL COST TOO MUCH! Forget this! I can't be more cartoonishly evil than the Remnant healthcare system, and I'M ALREADY A CARTOON VILLAIN! I'll just have to corrupt something else. Something more pure and free of corruption, like the Remnant Huntsman Academies.
Tyrian: Ooh boy...

influencers shilling scamcoin and other garbage to children
AI paranoia
criminally sadistic cops that roll through communities in tanks and battle gear like fucking Mad Max villains
Asshole public officials who go on social media to start shit with other world leaders
Shitty healthcare
Shitty infrastructure
Actual fucking Nazis just doing their fucked up thing out in the open
Most if our ‘leaders’ are openly perverts, rapists, racists, and cowards
Our world is dying but I guess fat old white guys being able to afford their fifth yatch is more important than the future of our entire species
Terminally stupid rich people pissing away millions of dollars just to blow up rocket ships, get bullied on Twitter, and fucking implode themselves on DIY submarines
Corporations that are so openly evil they may as well be Resident Evil villains
Encroaching dystopia
Fucking genocide
Disgusting and persistent failures of the shit show we call a justice system
Actual domestic traitors who sold out their own country for a buck and went on to face zero consequences, one of whom was the fucking president at the time
Our lives are empty
Our communities are dying
AND we also got us a new Cold War so you can bet we’ve got those Atomic Jitters, too.
And this stuff isn’t just happening in the background. It’s in our faces. Constantly. Every day. And for some of us it’s been like that since birth. You guys fucked up our world, fucked up our home, fucked up our brains, and fucked up our economy.
TLDR; Fuck you, Boomers. We’re tired of your shit.

Charisse Ards, 20 (USA 1989)
Tumblr media
In 1989, a single mother named Charisse Ards underwent an abortion, which she had been told was “healthcare” and “safe”. The truth was that nothing that was done to Charisse and her baby could be accurately called safe.
Charisse was a low-income restaurant worker who was unmarried. She probably felt overwhelmed at the thought of a baby. Adoption services or other support systems could have helped them both.
Instead, Charisse found out too late that abortion was far more dangerous than the abortionist wanted her to believe. She soon had a pelvic infection, one of the most common complications after legal abortion. She was treated at a hospital in Arapahoe County, Colorado, but her doctors were unable to save her.
She died on July 22, 1989, just a few months before she would have been 21 years old. The NCHS database showed two causes of Charisse’s death as legally induced abortion complicated by genital tract and pelvic infection and legally induced abortion without exact complication specified (ICD – 9:635.0 and 635.9).
Abortion disproportionately kills POC, like Charisse and her baby. Although Black people make up about 14% of the US population (as of 2019), approximately 28% of women and girls undergoing abortions in the US are Black (according to the Guttmancher Institute). The abortion industry is disproportionately killing minorities, which is not surprising considering the founders of abortion corporations and their extreme racism. The eugenic legacies of racists such as Edward Allred, Marie Stopes and Margaret Sanger continue as long as the abortion industry is open for business.
"United States Social Security Death Index," database, C K Ards, Jul 1989; citing U.S. Social Security Administration, Death Master File, database (Alexandria, Virginia: National Technical Information Service, ongoing).

I like to imagine Cave Johnson as a good guy.
Cave Johnson here. Trans rights are human rights (disagreeing with that is a quick way to lose your job), but, as my research of the American legal system has led me to believe, healthcare isn't. To solve this contradiction, aperture science is now sponsoring gender affirming care to anyone who may request it. You are welcome.
Cave Johnson here. Remember that story about the "ultra cheap HRT" that made its pacients "report instantenous gender euphoria"? So, the FDA got it tested; it turns out it's mostly dopamine. The bad news is that there will be no refund to anyone in the testing team. The good news is a new anti-depressant is on the way, and boy, it's the best bang-for-your-buck you'll see coming from this company. You're welcome.
Cave Johnson here. As it turns out, a lot of you where you were using the aperture gender affirming care thing to fund your personal healthcare. Some of you have your names on a list, and should expect nothing from this company from now on. You know who you are. Some of you, however, were doing this because of chronical disease you simply don't have the money to pay for. As a result, the Aparture Science Healthcare Plan is now available for people with most chronical diseases. Yes, cancer counts. You are welcome.
Cave Johnson here. You can now spank racists. That's right! If you can proved to us that what you did was against a bigot, which, by our definition, includes transphobes, homophobes, xenophobes, flat out racism and a lot more, and as long as no bones were broken, we will do jack shit about it. We will claim there was no footage of the event and will say that what you did was in legitimate defense. Be careful still. If they go to a hospital, it comes down to us, so no going too hard on them. You're welcome.
Cave Johnson here. We are now switching to a fully free, open source environment. I don't have the slightest idea of what that means, but it does mean we pay 200 bucks less per computer we buy in Windows licenses. Apparently, my laptop was the first to undergo the change, except I wasn't told. I didn't notice a change. I hope it goes down as smoothly for you as it went for me. If it doesn't, try youtube. Also, apparently, this thing doesn't run most games. It's part of the reason for me to be so happy with this change. We pay you to make science, not no-scopes.
Cave Johnson here. Since the healthcare program, the company as a whole has grown a lot more. So, like my dad always told me, if something makes money, do more of it. So, long story short, we are now paying for botherline everything you can do at a hospital. Seriously. Convince us you need it and we pay for it. You're welcome.

let me catch you up on what's been happening in Hungary.
some of you may have heard some stuff, but unless you actually live in the country, I doubt you heard everything.
the salary of teachers is criminally low. i mean like, they get paid about half the salary of a cashier at a supermarket. the brilliant answer of the government was that a teacher should teach for passion and to help the younger generation not for money. when the teachers started protesting and organising strikes (because with the money they get, they will starve) the government made a law so that they can't. if they still do, it'd be considered civil disobediance and they could be fired.
now us, the students are the ones that are fighting for our teachers. there is no future without teachers. today from 31 people no one showed up for class.
and it's not even just about the salary of teachers. our whole education system is failing (so is the healthcare system and no one is paying attention to climate change, but that's a whole other story). we have 7-8, sometimes 9, 45 minute classes (of 15 subjects) a day, and we write tests for each of them at least weekly. thanks to the sheer amount of material and expectations the number of teenagers struggling with mental health issues is now higher than ever.
the teachers aren't respected. at all. you say you're a teacher, people are most likely to say "are you crazy? that's stupid. it doesn't even pay the bills." yet they work their asses off. the nonexistent amount of people who decide to sabotage their own life and become teachers has been a problem for years. I really don't understand why the government thinks not paying them would help making it more popular.
and there are countless other problems. the books we are given are completely useless. I literally have no teachers who are able to use those piles of crap. all of them are left to make presentations, print us papers out of their own money to have something to teach us from.
the schools are old and in need of equipment. one of the schools nearby got their roof renovated. in september. none of them thought "hey, let's renovate this school in a time students aren't learning inside". then it rained. the whole building got soaked. the walls are full of water. they now can't go to school. and this is one of the top schools of the country.
and what did we achieve so far with all the protests and demonstrations?
absolutely
nothing.
this has been going on for months. thousands of people were at the protest of the capital today (myself included).
and we know we won't achieve anything with our plaid shirts and singing "We are the Grund". the government is way too busy to care, building yet another football arena, being racist, homophobic, transphobic and building new churches. I mean, sure, let's hope God saves us all, but even if He's real, what will He do? grant us all a good afterlife for our troubles? I don't want a good afterlife, I just want a future in this world.

I can't believe they termed berleezy. I'm glad that people are speaking up about this, though so many "allies" are doing the same thing they did to Cory and making excuses for it or just not saying anything at all. Its really sad but it shows you who's for you and who isn't so i guess thats a good thing too.
It really does show, but we as a community have been through this time and again; the excuses, the hush mouth, like it's really rinse and repeat but it really is good to see who stands up, who remains seated and who sits on the fence about it.
Honestly, I'm not hearing the excuses and I haven't been for years. I know what my experience is, and I know what the experience for other people my shade is too.
We're not dumb, we're not stupid, we're not misinformed or mistaken.
Anyway, if a person violates TOS, they should expect the same consequences. That's the problem, is that certain groups of people are committing the same "crime" but are not being punished on the same level. One's getting termed, the other a slap on the wrist and another absolutely nothing at all.
It's not just Youtube doing this either.
Happens in the education system:
Happens in healthcare:
Do I really have to post studies on the criminal justice system too?
People really act like it's not happening on Youtube, somehow douchebag Youtube is insulated from a ingrained bias that's permeated the world for hundreds of years.
Like. Make it make sense.
It's so exhausting, because you have to sit here and fight with the racists/bias alongside the fence straddlers and status quo supporters.

"why do you want to self DX?!!!? That must mean your faking if you really had XYZ you would want to get daignoised" yeah yeah sure anyways here's some reasons many people choose not to get diagnosised since you peanut sized brain can only think everyone must live in luxury
The cost of getting diagnosed
Even if you have free healthcare in your country you still have to be put in a VERYYY long wait list that can take years to have it be your turn
Even if you do get your turn the doctor can just not listen recently multiple people where told they can't have cancer bc they where too young and many doctors don't diagnosis afab people with autism because they think only boys can have it. Even race comes into play here since a while ago (please excuse anything i get wrong) racist used diagnosis like schizophrenia on black people WHO DID NOT HAVE SCHIZOPHRENIA to demonizie them and the disorder because they outed their racism. (Please tell me if i got the story wrong as i am going off of our memories)
Doctors can be wrong i know shocking(/s) many doctors aren't educated enough on things like DID and can often misdiagnose patients
When you do have a diagnosis it becomes near impossible to get a job because of ableism in a work setting multiple autistic people have been denyed jobs that they where qualified for just because they where autistic this also happened with our brother and disabled people are severely underpaid
Depending on what you get diagnosised with you can lose a good chunk of your rights
And the list goes on many people don't want to get diagnosised for a number of reasons and that's vaild. It doesn't mean that they don't have what they are claiming. YOUR SYMPTOMS SHOW UP BEFORE THE DIAGNOSIS THE DIAGNOSIS DOSENT MAKE YOU HAVE SAID ILLNESS.
If you think someone can just go to the doctor and just get a diagnosis your so fucking privileged it's not even funny. Get a reality check a good chunk of those in poverty are disabled. not everyone is like you and was lucky to be diagnosed. Getting diagnosed is something that very few are able to get. And even those with a diagnosis can still say that being diagnosed dose have it's down sides like making it near impossible to get a job. Not everyone can drop thousands of dollars to get a diagnosis wake up to reality we live in a shit world that dose not favor the working class and the disabled. The world we live in favors the rich and those that are not disabled. If you think that someone not being diagnosed means their faking you can gladly go fix our healthcare system and the economy while your at it maybe even find world peace. A diagnosis doesn't make a person experience any more Vaild then one without.
