So... how much of a clusterfuck was The Winchesters finale?
A massive one, in my humble opinion. This show turned out to be a classic bait and switch. It got sold to the audience as one thing, but with the conclusion turned out to be something else completely.
Let's just start off with the biggest issue - the story of John and Mary and how their love saved the world? Complete bullshit. John and Mary had nothing to do with the final conclusion of the series. They were not even the John and Mary that we grew to know and have deeply conflicted feelings about. They were an alternate version, existing in one of the many alternate universes that Chuck liked to play with. They weren't Sam and Dean's parents and might not ever come to have a Sam and/or Dean of their own.
This is, IMO, exceedingly sloppy writing. We knew from the very start that this was the most likely scenario, as there was no way that TW would fit in with original SPN cannon without massive retcons so this allowed the writers to basically thrown cannon into the shredder because nothing mattered. They could screw around with the mythology and do whatever they wanted because it's an alternate universe. As a writer, this pisses me off because even when writing AUs, there need to be some ground rules to connect with the premise of the original series. This just gave them an out for poor research and sloppy writing.
Which brings us to another major problem. How was there an alternate universe for Dean to play around in when we were told in the final season of SPN that Chuck had destroyed every reality except for the one that our Sam and Dean existed in. Unless Jack went out of his way to create a universe for Dean to jump into, there was no way for this to work with SPN lore. If Jack was now God and could fix all of the damage Chuck had done, why didn't he just deal with the Akrida? Why did Dean need to step in to protect the reality that Sam was currently still living in?
Then we have the biggest issue and that was how Dean was used. Or rather, Jensen since there wasn't a whole lot of Dean there. When the series was first announced and Jared's/Sam's fans were livid that he was being completely excluded from the series (and hadn't even been told that Jensen was ready to move ahead with it before the announcement was made), we were assured that this was all about John and Mary and that Dean would be, at most, a passive narrator. That Jared wasn't deliberately excluded and all would make sense. Well, it did make sense that we were lied to. Whether they realized that trying to make the show about John and Mary just wasn't resonating with the audience and tossing Dean into a more active role was something of a hail Mary, or this was the plan all along, Dean ended up being not just the McGuffin, but the hero of the story. He gets to save the day and all of reality.
This makes it painfully clear that this show wasn't about trying to explore other stories in the SPN universe. This was about Jensen's ego. That he was still upset that his character wasn't the last man standing, even when he admits that narratively it made more sense for Sam to be. This was about giving him the opportunity to be the big solo hero without having to share screen time with Jared. I can't say whether this was what Jensen and CM had originally planned or whether it became necessary to salvage the lackluster storyline, but it turned out to be an empty exercise of hubris and ego.
And I'm sorry, but trying to excuse Sam's erasure by having Dean claim that he was doing this because he had "family" in his own verse (who he couldn't even bring himself to call by name) was a cheap cop out. It doesn't make up for how Jensen and Dannell acted when putting this mess together and how he treated Jared. It was a slap in the face to the majority of the SPN audience, who watched because we loved both the brothers.
If there is any justice in the universe, the network will see this as the failure that it was and that the SPN legacy should never have been put in the hands of an inexperienced production company or when one of the leads is deliberately excluded. TW does not in any way warrant or need a second season and this should been tossed away a the failed experiment that it was.
Sorry Jensen, but you shat the bed. This dumpster fire is all on you.

Earning Nadja’s Trust: A WWDITS Meta
So I realized that Nadja doesn’t get the same treatment of fan analysis as say Nandor and Guillermo and I wanted to make my own contribution. I was driven to write “Earning Nadja’s Trust” because as we heard Laszlo tell baby Colin in 4.03, he learned to trust others again through his relationship with Nadja. I found that statement to be interesting because, of all the Staten Island roommates, she’s the most mistrustful of others, and even seems to still not completely trust Guillermo in the way Nandor and Laszlo have grown to trust him. If 4.03 is any indication, she sure regards familiars as below her at best and duplicitous at worst, has no respect for werewolves and her thoughts on witches need no elaboration. It is still not 100% clear the extent to which she regards the Guide either at this point.
We have seen that even in all her bouts of fury she deeply loves Laszlo and more or less fell in love with him at first sight and that she also cares about Nandor and sees him as part of her makeshift family. Even for all her issues with Colin Robinson, she was also saddened by the first incarnation’s death and was excited to meet the rebirthed one, even in her constant mistaking him for a raccoon.
Guillermo however, continues to be the outlier. Sure she does not talk down to him the way she did in the beginning of the series, but if their interaction where he demands to be the night club accountant is any indication, quite a bit of coldness still remains between them even after a year of being in London. However, I think it’s safe to say that Nadja spent so much time with the WWVC that Guillermo was barely needed.
So why is she still so as frosty as she is with Guillermo where her husband has grown to respect him and Nandor shows more affection?
Based on what we know of the respective backstories of Nadja and Guillermo, I believe that Nadja’s continued mistrust of Guillermo stems from that fact that, subconsciously or otherwise, she sees parts of herself in Guillermo.
But wait wouldn’t she then be more trusting of him?
First let’s break down the broad strokes of what Nadja and Guillermo have in common.
1. While Laszlo and Nandor were both born into lives of social (and to an extent economic) privilege, neither Nadja nor Guillermo were born into lives that would grant them those same social privileges and were outsiders.
We know Nadja was born into abject poverty some time in the sixteenth century in Greece. Not only was she born into poverty, but she’s also Romani, a European ethnic minority group that were (and continue to be) regarded as un-Godly; as more Romani people fell under Ottoman rule, they were considered the bottom of the social pyramid (no wonder her village fell into the path of Nandor the Relentless’s conquests over two centuries before her birth!)
In her interviews she even describes being mistreated because of her background and likely had to try to survive on her own at times with her sixteen other siblings dying and her mother getting eaten by a bear. When she was by the water and was turned by Baron Afanas, she was, for the first time in her existence, not powerless as she had been made to feel. (More will be elaborated on this in point 2)
Guillermo is a Mexican-American queer man who grew up with a single working mom being the most present. While we do not know of his father, he did refer to “parents” in 3.04 so imagine at some point his father was in the picture. Even if he wasn’t living in poverty like Nadja was, the small apartment where his Mom lives and the fact that he had to get a job at Panera Bread at 18-19 indicates that he might have been AT MOST on the cusp of lower-middle or high-lower class (and as anyone in the US knows, the stability of an American middle class has continued shrinking since the eighties.) His Mom, if 2.10 is any indication does not speak English with the same fluency he does (she might understand enough that she was able to express to the camera crew that she was happy to have Memo home; there are plenty of people who can understand other languages better than they can speak in those same languages so it’s completely possible that there’s that discrepancy in her English language skills) which likely indicates that she immigrated to the United States with her at some point in her life and raised Guillermo in the Bronx. As Guillermo reveals in 4.01 he was on his own for quite a bit of his childhood and probably felt some sort of isolation growing up queer and Catholic too. Even in being a familiar he is still kept at a distance and is very much the de facto odd one out in the household for the first ten years. That starts to change when he accidentally kills the Baron and later sees the ancestry report.
2. Both characters seek/use power as a means to command respect from others.
When Nadja joins the VC she ends up being the ruthless one, going so far as to rip out the heart of the leader of a rebellious vampire, forcing the rest of the coven to submit. She is even talked into showing mercy at times by Nandor in the chamber of judgment, while she doles out the more severe consequences. Finally when she returns to Staten Island, she very much approaches the night club as an inevitability despite The Guide’s protests and basically has to march over to get Richie Suck to perform at her club, showing that she has does not take no for an answer. While running a club is very different from bureaucracy, its still a means by which Nadja is able to have control. Her quest for power stems from a desire to give herself control in her afterlife as she was subjected to the whims of others when she was a human. Vampirism, for Nadja is empowerment and liberation; having visible high status in the vampire community strengthens that empowerment and perhaps even feeds her need to have control.
As Guillermo comes into his own as a slayer, his confidence grows and by season three is more willing to step outside the boundaries of being a familiar as he becomes the bodyguard. His full defiance of those boundaries culminates in his fight with Nandor in 3.10 where, for the first time, any of the vampires fully recognize that Guillermo isn’t the same meek nineteen year old who started as a familiar, but a force to be reckoned with. He still uses that power in season four to help Nandor in wish logistics and in putting his foot down to Nadja that he’ll only help if she gives him what he wants (the accountant job).
So with all that in mind, with them having a shared history of coming out higher than their humble origins, why hasn’t Nadja “warmed up to” Guillermo as the others have?
I believe the answer to this question lies partly in 4.03 as revealed by how Nadja saw the relationship between Richie Suck and Dr. Tom.
She already has a low opinion of familiars to begin with, but seeing the abusive dynamic between those guys probably won’t improve that opinion. One can argue that even if Nadja doesn’t see Guillermo as a familiar in name, she still looks down on him all the same. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if she believes the four way hypnosis is the only reason he hasn’t killed any of the coven yet (assuming she knows of neither the fight nor the hypnosis immunity) and that she would trust him less if that hypnosis hadn’t been performed. Given her propensity to use murder in her anger or even threaten it, I think that (at least subconsciously) she knows if she were in Guillermo’s position she would not hesitate to retaliate against the people who hurt her.
This part goes more into speculation territory but I wouldn’t be shocked if one of the first things Nadja did as a vampire was go after the people who wronged her when she was human. And honestly, I don’t blame her.
While Guillermo was lucky to still have a loving mother in his life, Nadja- as far as we know canonically- was mistreated and lost many people close to her when she was a human. Being human for Nadja was all about surviving, making it to the next day. Ironically enough it’s as a vampire that she’s been able to live and enjoy life. And that little familiar her dear friend has grown oddly attached to now has the capacity to kill her and her coven in an instant? My girl will not let anything get in the way of destroying everything she loves again, let alone threaten her power and security. Honestly, I’d say from Nadja’s point of view I can absolutely see how she’ll probably be the last of the coven to fully embrace Guillermo as part of the family.
To fully, finally earn that trust, she would need to be proven that Guillermo is nothing like Dr. Tom and that he actually cares about Nandor beyond wanting to be made into a vampire. In addition, she would need to understand that Guillermo was always going to protect them without the hypnosis. While her finding out about his hypnosis immunity could spell trouble, her having confirmation that Guillermo would never hurt them regardless would also allow her to feel more inclined to fully see him as one of the team.
That is not to say I think Guillermo has to prove himself, he doesn’t have to prove shit to anyone and he clearly doesn’t care about doing that so much anymore.
What I am saying is that they would need to be put in a specific situation/circumstances that would make her reconsider any remaining mistrust she has in him. Clearly being in London didn’t do that. In fact it sounds like they more or less avoided each other in London if she spent the majority of her time in a room with the WWVC, likely leaving Guillermo plenty of chances to go off on his own once it was clear that Nadja wasn’t in any danger.
For what that change might look like, I’m going into some speculation/theorizing territory here for the season so DO NOT TAKE THIS AS SOMETHING THAT WILL HAPPEN. This is just a possible scenario I could see playing out in Nadja and Guillermo’s relationship.
THE ONE TIME NADJA SHOWED GENUINE INTEREST IN GUILLERMO AS A PERSON
There is one notable instance where Nadja seemed to genuinely show interest in Guillermo as a person. In 3.04 when she and Laszlo awkwardly attempt to engage in a conversation with him it starts out feeling forced (which it is) until Laszlo asks if his interests involve the “fairer sex.” While her asking if he has a “chubby little girlfriend” was still rather demeaning, the way in which she asked displayed genuine interest on her end. When Laszlo brought up “maybe a boyfriend” she, along with Laszlo and Colin are genuinely intrigued and actually wants to know about his private life, much to his chagrin.
If the episode titles are anything to go by, it seems like the vampires will meet Freddie at some point, and you can’t tell me Nadja won’t suddenly want to know EVERYTHING that has been going on with that (likely after yelling “You had a boyfriend in London this whole time and never told me?!?! I’ll fucking kill you!!!” for about a few hours). And if the Freddie being a troublemaker metas are anything to go by, I wouldn’t be shocked if somehow Nadja learned Freddie was up to something sleazy and goes after him for it in a “you don’t get to hurt Gizmo, only we get to do that!” sort of way since she would still be reticent about being warm to him. Though that scenario is more based on the fact that if there’s anything Nadja truly despises, it’s men who go out of their way to be horrible.
I welcome any and all feedback and or criticism and do not take my speculations as givens as they are just that- in fact, as I’ve said many times before I’ll be shocked if I’m on point about any of the above.

hey sam I apologize if this gives you psychic damage but your lisaposting always makes me think about how I first heard of the game recently because someone on twt was like oh the game is about a strong manly father providing for his child only to have people correct them on the game actually dealing with parental abuse and ive been curious about the game ever since
NO IT'S OKAY i have. seen that post. that person does not understand the game, to put it lightly
the game makes it really clear that while brad, the main character of the central game in the series, thinks that what he's doing is protecting his daughter, he is, in reality, perpetuating the cycle of abuse
tw for discussions of abuse below
brad is a deeply pitiable character, whose childhood was defined by physical, emotional and sexual abuse towards both him and his little sister, the titular lisa, at the hands of their father. brad's main goal as an adult is to protect his adopted daughter from the abuse he and his sister faced, which his sister did not survive-- so in his mind, when his daughter buddy goes missing in a (genuinely very dangerous) apocalypse, where she is supposedly the only girl left in a world of horrifically damaged men, he's protecting her by going after her. he's protecting her by teaching her to defend herself through any violent means necessary, he's protecting her by withholding physical and emotional affection, he's protecting her by completely isolating her from the world. and it's sad! it's pitiable! you can trace so easily how a man who went through what he did would come to the conclusion that this is the only way to protect his little girl, especially in a world where she can so easily be hurt
and the game doesn't even say he's wrong about the fact that buddy is vulnerable, and could be abused. the game never physically shows the worst acts of abuse, but it's clear that brad and lisa went through hell as children, and that buddy also goes through hell. she is abused after she leaves, people are disgusting to her, and even more "well-meaning" people still strive to take her autonomy away for the "good of the world"
... but she's also abused before then, even though brad never once lay a hand on her and would have rather killed himself than done so
because at the end of the game, (SPOILERS,) you kneel at your daughter's feet, dying a horrible death as your addiction consumes you in the most literal possible way, begging, telling her you only ever wanted to make it so nobody could ever hurt her, and she looks you in the eyes and says "you're the one who hurt me most." because you were supposed to be her fucking dad, and you kept her holed up in an affectionate-less home, down in a basement, training how to kill a man in case one ever tried to hurt her, refusing to even let her call you "dad" because of your own trauma around fatherhood, so trapped that she didn't even know what the sky looked like until she was like ten
and the last choice of the main game is you as buddy, trying to figure out if you want to hug brad as he dies, and his last words are asking you if he did the right thing
brad is a deeply sad character. he's a man who loved his daughter and wanted to do whatever he could to mitigate the harm that could come to her, to make absolutely sure she did not suffer in the way he and his sister did growing up... and he broke some of the cycles. he is not the type of monster his own father was, he really isn't, but he did abuse buddy, and that's the point of the ending. buddy didn't want to go back home, she couldn't go back home, because you never made it a fucking home, and you never acted like an actual parent
as a side note, there are other fathers you can pick up as party members in the game, none of which have still-living children. they are mad dog, olan, and birdie. thematically, i think they're incredibly important
mad dog is an abuser, full stop-- a man who killed his son for not being "strong enough," who hates his children deeply, whose views on parenting are the most social darwinist "survival of the fittest, we need a strong bloodline" bullshit on the planet. a lot of his deal embodies some of the horrible fears brad has about his own parenting, that he will become an out-and-out abuser, and some of the actions that brad really does take, in forcing buddy to kill to become "stronger." his reasoning is different from mad dog, but the abusive action is there, and the conversation you can have with him in the newest update is framed as if you're being welcomed into hell. it's hopeless, bleak, deranged and cruel. it's one of brad's worst fears for himself
olan is a genuinely pleasant, likable guy, who had two daughters before the end of the world. olan did not kill his children, he did not hate his children, he did not seem to ever lay a hand against his children... but he neglected them. he neglected his girls, he neglected his wife, "even when he was there, he wasn't really there." he would have rather spent his time in his garage, downing whiskey and practicing archery, and in the newest update, he tearfully tells brad that his daughters never needed him anyway, that girls never really need their fathers. brad was also neglected, his father was an addict, he is an addict-- olan is another facet of brad's family trauma, another fear of what he could be. someone who never knowingly hurts his children, who is never cruel, but someone who fails his kids anyway. we never learn olan's daughters' names. he talks about them, some of their traits, but he never names them. after more than a decade, it's possible he doesn't even remember them-- he's not responsible for their deaths, but god did he fail them
birdie was, as far as canon implies, a decent dad. (and my favorite character, he's my icon.) birdie is, in his current state, a sweet but incedibly messy alcoholic mourning the deaths of his boys, but pre-apocalypse, he was a single father struggling to pay for his sons' medical treatments. there is nothing in birdie's backstory that implies in any way that he abused them, was cruel to them, or that he ever purposefully neglected them. his son joey died to a serious illness "that couldn't be treated on a dock worker's budget." his son jimmy killed himself after the death of his brother. (i think it's notable to mention that brad's sister, lisa, also killed herself.) birdie could not cope with the loss of both his boys, and it kickstarted his addiction. brad, who grew up in poverty, who is raising a daughter in a world where nobody can know she exists, has never had resources. birdie also never had resources, as a single dad with a tight budget, and no other family ever mentioned. birdie, in modern day, eats himself up with guilt, does anything he can to numb the pain-- it's pretty easy to draw a parallel between his addiction, spurred by his inability to save his family, and brad's addiction, fueled in large part by his inability to save lisa. birdie did care, he didn't do anything wrong, but he also failed his kids, and he's also now been defined by that
mad dog is brad's fears that he will be an abuser. olan is his fears that he will be neglectful, (with fears due to his addiction being sprinkled in as well.) birdie is his fear that even if he technically does everything right, chance, a lack of resources, and things beyond his control could still make him lose his daughter anyway. (birdie also plays into his fears about addiction, i think, because while birdie's time struggling with addiction never overlapped with the period where his boys were alive, brad's still being faced with an alcoholic father, and someone who uses alcohol and drugs to cope with the loss of young family members and the guilt over being unable to save them. it's also worth mentioning that birdie has design similarities to both brad and to brad's horrible father marty, despite being the only "good" dad in the game)
there is no father in this series that saves their child. from the horrible, no-gray-area-about-it abusive monsters to the shitty-but-never-cruel deadbeats to the guys who seemed to genuinely be doing their best with the cards they were dealt-- none of them, none of them save their children. none of them, including brad, and the idea that lisa is about some righteous quest to save your daughter is so insane that even brad doesn't fully believe it by the ending moments of the game

2# Father of the Bob
And this is a perfect example of a great episode beyond a holiday special episode (I didn’t even realized that it was a christmas special until I read the series wiki)
The episode gets me since minute one. Since the very first scene I knew this episode would be it. And is just that this first scene is devastating, seeing how Big Bob demerit Bob’s efforts and ideas, he doesn’t even take a moment to think about how this hurts Bob, it’s not important, is not a moment that would mark Bob for life, is just another day. It makes me sick.
Tumblr media
Then I saw the 15 minutes rule, and it reminded me so much of my own relationship with my grandma that Big Bob became immediately a villain in my head, some hurtful man who didn’t care about his son, but oh boy if I was wrong.
Big Bob is not a villain, is not a bad man, he’s just a very imperfect dad. Because yeah (for me) Big Bob is not a good dad, not a bad dad either, and I get this for others episodes as well.
Big Bob wasn’t a great dad, he loves Bob of course, but he also hurt him deeply over the years and since a young age, but how the serie deal with this is what amazed me. Big Bob in this moment of his life, where he thinks he already lost his son, is still trying to change, which is huge for me.
Big Bob, even if at first didn't wanted to admit it, understand why Junior go, why they couldn’t work together and finally recognize that he made things in the wrong way, and he is indeed trying to change and be more accesible and communicative, we see more of this in further episodes. But he doesn’t do this expecting for Bob to go back, he does it because is the right thing to do, is what needs to be done.
Tumblr media
I’m not trying to say Bob wasn’t also in the wrong, cause he was, but he’s the one to extend the branch of olive and he does it in the best way possible.
Who knew this man could actually communicate his feelings in such an on point way. Damn.
And know that we are in this scene and I have to clarify this next part is my brain looking too deep into things. (pls bare with me)
Tumblr media
For me this whole scene in Pete’s Gay Bar alludes not only to Bob’s burgers ideas or him running away from Big Bob's Dinner, but is also about his sexuality (and maybe even his autism).
Bob can not believe his father is just so comfortable in this kind of place, surrounding by people that are just like Bob, this parts that Bob always thought his father couldn’t accept, this parts of him he couldn’t even voice out loud himself. Cause in this scene is obvious they both know, but they just don't talk about it. Bob assumes Big Bob will never accept it and Big Bob try to not mention it cause he doesn’t get it, but he wants to get it, want to understand, but he doesn’t tell Junior any of this, maybe under the assumption that Junior doesn’t even care cause it just too late.
Tumblr media
The line “You have weird and happy kids” broke me. Big Bob knows as well as Bob that the kids are different, neurodivergent, but don’t have the knowledge to refer properly about it. Big Bob accepting the fact that the kids are weird but still amazing and, most important, happy as they are, close the circle of him rejecting his son in the past for being weird and ungrateful (not happy) and for the cherish on the top he says “You are a good dad” cause yeah Bob is certainly doing it better than him at the past.
I really love this episode so much, maybe even more that the actual Top 1 but for now here it is. Is a complex episode, that I could see over and over and still think more about it.
EXTRAS
I love how passive-aggressive Linda is with Big Bob, she really wants for him and Bob to have a good relationship and she forced as she does with her own parents. But in this and other episodes is clear that she doesn't forgive Big Bob for all the things he put Bob trough.
Tumblr media
The kids are the glue on the episode. With their innocence and naivety in the matter they get to bring the family together. They don’t get why their dad doesn't like Pop Pop but they don’t really care, they like their Grandpa and that’s what matters.
Tumblr media
I kind of ship Big Bob and Pete, there it is I said it. Leave me alone. This destroy all my discourse but I just love the idea of Big Bob finding love again and in this man that obviously support him and like him the way he is, they get each other. Shut Up! leave alone.
Oh and "Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger" is so special to me, I'm just waiting for the right moment to cook it, is like one of my dreams in real life.

let's stay together! (3)
welcome back! it's time to continue our way down the zodiac, today with hatsuharu!
the first thing i wish to talk about in haru's analysis is how he is perceived as the cow spirit. the cow zodiac is referred to as dumb at multiple points due to the old zodiac legend where the cunning rat rides on the back of the cow to get to the banquet, and this clearly had a big effect on haru's childhood. the constant ridicule that he received from the adults at sohma house are what caused him to form "dark haru." to combat his anger, his parents put him in karate, but it didn't help. haru believed that the reason he is called stupid all the time is because of the rat, aka yuki. (yuki at this time was also locked up as well so he was never seen, therefore haru took it as yuki being the pretentious rat.) when the two finally met for the first time, haru blew up blaming everything on yuki. yuki asked if haru genuinely believed that he was stupid which allowed haru to realize that he isn't dumb and didn't have to follow the stupid stereotypes of the zodiac. this interaction allowed haru to be more at peace in his mind, as yuki allowed him to get everything off his chest. this is also where haru realizes that everything he had thought about yuki was wrong, and grew a new attachment to the boy. to this day, haru says that yuki is his first love.
this segways into my next topic: haru's bisexuality. now his sexuality is never explicitly stated in the series (at least i don't think it is?) although haru does admit his feelings for yuki. (though his calm demeanor and tohru's reaction makes it feel like satire.) i believe i've mentioned this before, but i do believe that fruits basket is a heavily queer-baited series. haru is obviously no exception to this rule. unlike yuki’s case, i don’t wholeheartedly believe that haru’s character was a make or break depending on if he ended up with a man or not, however i do think this hinted bisexuality adds to the reason he is so sexualized. obviously this is not okay as a.) he’s a minor and b.) that’s ridiculously biphobic fetishize him based on who he loves. and might i say again, he’s a MINOR. :)
i now would like to take a minute to talk about his relationship with rin. many people are hit or miss on this relationship, you either love it or see a million faults to it. for starters, i would like to clarify that most of the sohma’s are not directly related. they are apart of a clan, which means that they don’t have to be directly related, just share a common surname. i believe there are only a few members who are GENUINELY related. now that we have that cleared up i honestly believe they are one of the least toxic couples in the entire show. there relationship blooms from a well developed friendship where both of them support each other through their hard home lives; both rin and haru are subject and victims to MANY traumas throughout their childhoods but one thing that stands clear is they both love each other and will do anything to make sure the other is safe and happy. (your honor, i love them so much)
i would also like to jump back and talk about how “dark” haru came about. obviously, we are made aware of how dark haru came to be; its a defense mechanism used to combat the harsh words used by adults during his childhood. but i think the thing that intrigues me the most about haru going "dark" is that a large majority of the times we see him get angry is in defense of others. the one thing i truly adore about haru is that he's such a loyal and devoted friend. he deeply loves and cares for the people in his life and will go to all extents to make sure they're okay, for instance, convincing shigure to get yuki off the sohma estate, or when he went after kisa after she ran away. (i especially LOVE the older brother role he took on with kisa it melts my heart)
in conclusion, for a secondary character i think that haru is very well written!! at the moment he's my favorite character but i think that's because i'm just thinking so much about him as of recent lol.

Despite a lack of recognition this awards season, Andrew Haigh’s “All of Us Strangers” is a masterful study on love and loss that is deserving of an audience’s attention and respect.
The film follows Adam, played by Andrew Scott, a despondent screenwriter looking to process his circumstances through his writing. Adam lost his parents when he was 12 years old to a car accident around Christmas time, leaving him isolated. He works through his sexual identity as a gay man and this lingering grief through a nearly supernatural opportunity to visit his childhood home and converse with his parents at the age they were when they passed.
The story immediately begins with little exposition, launching audiences into a disorienting framework. The off-putting locations and soundtrack lend themselves to a jarring dive into an almost supernatural encounter between Adam and his parents. This off-putting energy kept audiences on edge as they waited for each crumb of clarity to make the story more fleshed out. This only added to the impact of the story’s messages as they were becoming more clear.
The film employed a “show don’t tell” mindset to the story, with nothing indicating the relationship between Adam and his parents besides the subtleties of their conversation and body language. The actors are around the same age and nothing in the dialogue refers to them as parental figures until later in the story.
Similarly, one of the largest reveals in the film is played slowly through a series of discoveries the audience was making alongside Adam, none of them spoken, only described through reaction and set design. The ability to allow audience anticipation to persist in these moments wore down the audience to a place of vulnerability and tears that they couldn’t predict.
The secondary plot alongside Adam confronting the grief is a relationship with another man from the apartment complex, Harry, played by Paul Mescal. The intimate moments the two share on screen are deeply touching and honest. Their relationship is handled gently between the two timid characters, who are trying to navigate their identities in a world without support. Adam’s parents’ death came before he was able to express himself to his parents, while Harry’s family was unsupportive or disinterested in supporting him through his discovery.
The film tackles the nuanced concepts with such care, addressing the struggle many LGBTQ+ youth deal with whilst discovering their sexuality, as well as the lingering effects of the lack of acceptance people have seen in the past.
With an age gap of around 20 years, Harry’s character is working through the modern-day process of coming out to family and friends, whereas Adam is reminiscing on a youth he never had, both with his parents and his sexuality being public. This dynamic allows for a deep connection between the two immediately. Despite initially rejecting Harry’s advances, Adam pursues him further with the hopes of combatting both of their loneliness with some much-needed companionship.
This approach was made possible by the exceptional acting performances of the main cast. With a cast of primarily four actors, each character’s weight of story was extremely effective. Claire Foy and Jamie Bell gave a spellbound performance as Adam’s parents.
Foy’s performance was understated and honest, bringing out love and conflict that bordered close to the reality of many mother and son dynamics. She finds out Adam is gay after asking him if he’s been seeing a girl and whether he wants kids. When he speaks about how his sexuality is influencing his life in the modern day, she expresses hostility and shock, as well as a concern for him and his well-being. This scene added a bit of humor and highlighted the different time periods well within the intense subject matter.
The true standouts were Scott and Mescal as the romantic centerpiece of the film. The two were extremely grounded in reality during scenes of intimacy and conversation. Nothing between the two ever felt forced or unrealistic. This kind of raw performance is something to be praised in LGBTQ+ media, as a truthful take on how existing with the struggles of your identity can be isolating but also be a point of connection.
The film’s unique take on the fantasy and romance genre was refreshing and set a new standard for films to come. The film is grounded in many fantasy elements and can be jarring, but this is not a film that needs to be dissected for a “why” behind the magic the film has within its plot. The fantasy of the film is merely a device to bring out some of the most intense feelings we as humans can experience.
“All of Us Strangers” is a film worth viewing for its ability to be comforting despite being a depiction of some of the most uncomfortable struggles humans can experience.'

Bewitched | Chapter Three: Shandy
Tumblr media
Stars Series | Bewitched
By her third glass of cheap wine, she was about ready to burn the letter.
Only the buzzing light in the kitchen lit the single-room flat. Petunia Evans sat on the floor, leaning against the mattress the room had come with, listening to the growing storm outside, swirling the last bit of wine in her plastic wine glass, and staring spitefully at her sister’s letter. Her lighter was in her other hand.
Though she hadn’t read many of her sister’s letters as of late, she had never before burned one, and though they had parted this summer on bad terms, Petunia wasn’t sure if she was ready to burn that bridge. She felt numb as she sat her wine glass down, picked up the unopened letter, and brought the lighter to the bottom corner of it.
Her thumb hovered over the sparkwheel, but her eyes were focused on the scrawl on the envelope. All that was on it was her name. No address, no stamp, no return address (why would they need any of that? Somehow, owls just knew.) Her name was written in perfect cursive - of course it was. Everything about Lily Evans was perfect.
Her sister was a witch born into a non-magical family, but somehow she made Petunia look like the defective one. Of course, she never did that consciously - no, because Lily Evans was perfect. Such a kind, innocent girl with high morals. Their parents’ favorite. Her father always said he didn’t have a favorite child, but her mother had no shame in admitting it. Why can’t you be more like your sister?
At this thought, she pressed her thumb against the sparkwheel, a low growl coming from deep within her throat, but in a single moment, a clear thought worked its way past her rage, and she flung the lighter across the room. She couldn’t do it. Despite it all - despite her mother constantly degrading her, despite her sorrowful wonderings of why it hadn’t been her - Petunia cared deeply about her sister. She wasn’t about to throw it all away in a moment of drunken rage.
But she couldn’t bring herself to open the letter, either. She stood, put the new letter with the others in her bedside drawer, grabbed her coat and an umbrella, and left.
She opened her umbrella, stepped out into the street and just walked. She had no idea where she would go - she only ever seemed to be at her job or her apartment - but she had to put distance between her and that letter before she did something rash. So, Petunia hastened out to the main street and walked along it for several blocks. Eventually, the rain and wind had gotten bad enough that she felt puddles in her shoes, so she decided she’d better find some shelter. That shelter came in the form of an average-looking pub on a corner called Young Buck’s.
Laughter erupted as she entered the pub and she paused in the midst of closing her umbrella, looking contentiously around her. The group of men that had rowdily laughed seemed to have taken no notice of her at all. The four of them sat at a table to the right of the bar, and it looked as though one of them had spilled beer on his shirt. She let out a breath of relief as she realized they had not laughed at her at all - it had all just been bad timing.
A man in his mid twenties with light brown hair and kind eyes came out from behind the bar, giving the men a towel before his eyes set on Petunia. “Evenin’,” he greeted brightly. Petunia had never seen a bartender who seemed to love his job as much as this one. He moved back to the bar. “There’s an umbrella stand on the other side of the coat rack, you’re welcome to use both.”
While she turned sheepishly to discard her umbrella and coat, Petunia felt oddly comfortable in this pub, which was strange because Petunia didn’t exactly feel comfortable anywhere. She’d always been an anxious person, and she wondered what it was about this place that put her at ease. She remembered the wine she’d had before she had left her flat.
Keeping her distance from the group of men, Petunia made her way up to the bar, sitting in the middle of it. The bartender, drying a glass, gave her another friendly smile, which she returned. “What can I get you, miss?”
“I - um - ” Petunia started, looking flustered. At eighteen, this was the first time she’d ever come to a bar alone, and she suddenly couldn’t think of a single drink. “Could I get - ” she could feel her face reddening - “could I get a beer mixed with lemonade?”
The bartender chuckled. “A shandy? ‘Course.”
Petunia kicked herself when she heard the name of the drink. It had been on the tip of her tongue, and she felt stupid now, not having known it.
“New to the bar scene?” the bartender continued as he began to make her drink.
“Is it that obvious?” Petunia grimaced.
He shrugged, laughing lightheartedly. “Nothing to be ashamed of. And it’s better to start with a shandy than something harder. Let me take a stab at it - you nicked some of your parents’ beer when you were young, didn’t like the taste, so you added lemonade?”
At his words, Petunia could almost feel the rooftop beneath her. She had been the older one at sixteen, but it had been Lily, only fourteen, who had gotten ahold of their parent’s alcohol. She could still see the look on her face as she extended the bottle out to her like an olive branch. “I don’t want that if you used magic to get it,” Petunia had said sharply.
“Oh, come on Tuney, you know I can’t use magic outside of school,” Lily had responded with a laugh. To this day, Petunia still had a clear image of her sister that night, the sunset seeming to set her auburn hair ablaze, her kind face so full of life. She’d always been jealous of her sister’s looks.
Petunia had been reluctant to take the beer from her sister, but eventually she did, and Lily sat beside her on their roof, shoulder to shoulder. She had wanted to snap at her, asking her why she wasn’t with that Spinner’s End boy, but something about the moment had stopped her. All animosities were at a standstill, and even if it was just for that one moment, they were just sisters.
They had opened the beers simultaneously, bringing the bottles to their lips together, and nearly spat it out at the same time, their scrunched faces more similar than they ever had been.
“Oh, that’s awful.”
“Why do people drink this stuff?”
“It needs something. Something to hide the taste.”
“Lemonade?”
“Ah, the discovery of shandy,” the bartender mused, sliding eighteen-year-old Petunia her drink. Shaking off the memory, she gave him a shy smile and took a small sip of her drink.
Petunia tried not to think of much at all as she drank her shandy. That memory had snuck up on her and left her feeling unsteady - she didn’t want to think about her sister at all, not in a good light nor a bad one. That was why she had come to London in the first place, to distance herself from all of that, to finally focus on herself instead of her conflicted feelings towards her family. She took no notice of a couple that entered the pub, but, with her glass nearly empty, she was pulled out of her thoughts as a woman came in.
“Gin and tonic, please,” she told the bartender, leaning against the bar not far from Petunia. She couldn’t help herself from gawking at the woman - the very air around her seemed different than everyone else in the pub. She looked like a noblewoman to Petunia, like a duchess wearing a disguise so she could see how the lower class lived. Her soft brown hair was hardly even wet, though the rain was still thundering down. She obviously hadn’t been outside long.
Slowly the woman turned towards Petunia, and the second her wide brown eyes met her own, Petunia looked back down at her glass, embarrassed.
“Should I open a tab for you, miss?” the bartender asked the woman, handing her her gin and tonic. Petunia thought that her drink fit the woman well, both seeming very aristocratic to Petunia, who could hardly afford the shandy.
“No, but the person I’ll be meeting will take a shandy when she gets here,” she answered.
For a brief moment, Petunia stopped fiddling with her glass, looking up just in time to see the look the bartender shot her way. She smiled nervously at him, then turned her head just slightly to watch the woman walk away from the bar, settling herself into a secluded booth in the back.
Petunia spent the next few minutes trying to understand why the woman was so intriguing to her. She was beautiful, there was no denying that, but that’s not quite what drew her attention to her. There was something about her, something mystical.
Her stomach dropped as the thought occurred to her. Was it possible that the woman was like her sister? But it couldn’t be - from what she’d heard from Lily, most high society witches, which this woman undoubtedly would be, wouldn’t go near a place as Muggle as this.
“Al!”
Petunia had been too immersed in her thoughts to have heard the bell on the door chime, but the booming male voice behind her definitely caught her attention. She sat up straighter and looked around at the man approaching the bar. The first thing she noticed was his receding hairline.
“Will!” the bartender happily responded, moving closer to greet the man. Only a stool stood between her and this Will, who was radiating heat despite the freezing rain outside. Petunia awkwardly shifted in her seat.
Petunia tried her hardest not to eavesdrop on this conversation, but with how close they were to her and how loudly they were speaking, she was forced to hear every word of the bartender and Will’s conversation. They were apparently brothers-in-law, Will married to the bartender’s sister, who was eight months pregnant.
“Have you thought of any names yet?” the bartender, Al, asked.
“Haven’t narrowed it down, but we’re thinking something starting with an ‘O’,” answered Will. He seemed to be very excited to become a father, but Al seemed even more excited to become an uncle. “Something like Oscar.”
“What about Olen? That was our grandfather’s name.”
With the sound of the bell chiming on the door, Petunia didn’t get to hear Will’s opinion on the name Olen. The entire pub went silent, everyone’s attention keenly focused on the figure in the doorway.
As Petunia turned to the doorway, her breath caught in her throat. If the woman who ordered the gin and tonic was beautiful, then there were absolutely no words Petunia could use to describe this new woman. She was angelic. As her blonde hair fell out of her jacket as she pulled her hood off, Petunia thought that she was the sun itself. A shining light in the darkness.
The woman’s blue eyes flickered over the room, and though it was only a split second, her gaze met Petunia’s, and she felt a wave of nerves wash over her. The moment passed very quickly, her eyes settling on the woman in the secluded booth. She rushed past Petunia to her.
“Got another shandy drinker,” Al said offhandedly to Petunia, catching her off guard. Noticing this, Al smirked as he finished making the blonde woman’s drink. He smiled smugly at Petunia before he made his way over to the pub’s newest arrival.
Though the two women looked very serious, Petunia caught sight of the woman’s smile as she thanked Al for the drink, and she felt absolutely bewitched.
“Some might call it fate.” The bartender had spoken this so softly as he passed Petunia again that she almost didn’t catch it. She looked up at him abruptly, but he was already back to his casual conversation with his brother-in-law. The pub’s atmosphere went back to normal.
Petunia was trying desperately to listen into the women’s conversation, though with Al and Will talking loudly, the group of men getting rowdier by the minute, and an argument breaking out between the couple sitting by the window, Petunia was having a difficult time hearing them. It didn’t help that they were talking in very hushed voices.
She watched them from the corner of her eye. She couldn’t quite place their relationship to one another - they sat closely and had hugged when they had seen each other, but that could be so many things. They looked similar enough to be related, so Petunia settled her mind, calling them sisters. This was confirmed when Petunia picked up the word ‘Mum’.
But it was another word that nearly caused her heart to stop. Pureblood. Petunia tried to convince herself that she had misheard them, that maybe they had said ‘purebred’ or something like that, maybe talking about dogs, but she knew it wasn’t that. The blonde woman had said the word ‘Pureblood,’ a word Petunia had only ever heard Lily and that Snape boy use. Her assumption about the brunette woman had been correct, she was - they both were - witches.
The arguing couple left, making it a little easier for Petunia to overhear the witches.
“An infertile, a Blood Traitor and a lesbian?” she heard the blonde woman saying. “They’d be the laughing stock of Pureblood society. The damage is done with the two of you, so they’re focusing their attention on me.”
A silence ensued between the two of them, the brunette looking shocked, the blonde looking angry. Petunia watched in amazement as the blonde picked up her full drink, raised it in the air, then downed the entire thing in one go. She had to keep her mouth from falling open.
Her mind fuzzy, Petunia got Al’s attention and ordered another drink.
She was sufficiently intoxicated by the time the women stood from their booth and made their way towards the door. She pulled out her wallet, quickly counting out the money she owed for the drinks.
“Leaving so soon?” Al questioned with raised eyebrows, his eyes flicking to the door as the witches left.
Petunia gave him a look, tilting her chin down. “Yes,” she answered him firmly.
Al innocently raised his hands. “Alright,” he said in a playful manner. “Your life, your decisions.”
As Petunia watched him, her scowled morphed into a smile. She wanted to tell him that she’d be back, but he seemed to already know. Petunia hopped off her stool, her balance a bit off, but she quickly regained it, grabbing her coat and stepping back out into the rain.
“You forgot your - ” Al tried to call after her, but she was already gone.
“So what do they do? What do they do when someone like me sees magic?”
“Nothing. You know about magic because of me, so they wouldn’t do anything.”
The words were echoing through her head as she stumbled through the rain after the witches. This sudden memory was just as unwanted as the last one, but Petunia couldn’t find the willpower to push it out of her mind.
“You know what I mean. Say I didn’t have a witch for a sister and someone did magic in front of me. What would they do to keep their secret?”
She could almost see the uneasy look that had overtaken her sister’s face after she had said this. In the darkness and rain, she nearly missed it as the witches turned sharply into an alley. Petunia walked slowly to the opening, stopping just short of it, trying her hardest to listen to them.
“They would obliviate you.”
Petunia heard a loud crack and, thinking she missed them, stepped into the alley.
Hands raised, Petunia stood frozen before the blonde woman, her wand drawn and only inches from Petunia’s nose.
“No, please,” she started desperately. “You don’t need to obliviate me. I know all about magic already.”
Narcissa was silent, but slowly, she lowered her wand.

My Thoughts: Deeply Touched My Heart
Sometimes you read a book that just leaves you in awe of how deeply it touches your heart. Such is the case with Kelly Irvin’s The Heart’s Bidding.
First, you have Rachelle Lapp and Toby Miller. Each one has suffered through relationship issues in the past that have somewhat clouded their feelings on the subject of love and trust. They’ve also had situations in their work and families that weighed heavily on them and in turn had them facing some difficult decisions. All of this caused them to have some reservations which had an impact on their  growing feelings for each other and their possible future. Following their journey completely tugged at my heart strings.
Next you have a wonderful cast of secondary characters, some of which were very special. This is a topic that doesn’t show up very often in this type of story. However, it is very clear that the author researched the topic extensively. The way she flawlessly detailed the characters’ dialogues, actions and reactions was so spot on that it made them feel like they were real.
Lastly there is another topic that rarely shows up in this type of story. That topic is about adults who never had their educational needs properly addressed in childhood and how it impacts them in adulthood. This too was depicted in such a realistic way that it deeply touched my heart.
Author Kelly Irvin has once again written a story that draws you in completely and touches your heart is a special way. It is one of love, hope, faith, trust and following God’s plan. It is a truly heartfelt story that I highly recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.  All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.

The Abandoned Boy And His Problematic Fathers: Snape with Voldemort & Dumbledore
"He and Voldemort and Snape, the abandoned boys, all found home here..” - Forest Again, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Tumblr media
This comparison line of Harry, Snape and Voldemort being abandoned boys is not an accident. There is an intentional parallel being made between three of them - not only in terms of their parallels with the Hallows (as Tumblr has astutely pointed out), but also the commonalities in their upbringing. Given that Harry empathises so deeply with both of them, I am going to argue one of Harry’s attributes was present in all of them. We know that as an abandoned boy with lack of male authority figures to model after, Harry strongly craved a father. Here is a meta by u/metametatron4 that tracks Harry’s feelings about James (and Snape) through the series.
In Voldemort’s case, Tom believes his father to be the magical one and keeps his father’s name until he could no longer prove that it was his father who gave him his “special” lineage. He goes as far as searching Hogwarts records for his father because in his mind, his mother was “weak” to die. Once he is forced to concede that his mother is the magical one, he chooses to emphasise her ancestry in a paternal sense - “Salazar Slytherin, greatest of Hogwarts four”, tying himself up in grandeur. He also killed his father and his own paternal side of the family, his source of rage and shame. He sheds his father's name and becomes someone else, only known by his "special" magical lineage - cutting off that undesirable part of himself. Voldemort’s reaction to both his parent’s abandonment is to be special in every way, and choosing to discard love and seek power and control - a place where he is not rejected at all.
Tumblr media
Snape is different from both Harry and Voldemort is that he specifically rejects his abusive father, having known him. As a child, he is seen wearing his mother’s clothes, only with an overlong coat that might belong to his father on a hot sunny day. As per Pottermore, he occasionally got whipped - so one can assume the coat is to hide that. Harry identifies strongly to Snape wearing overlong clothes that don’t quite fit him - a clear sign of neglect, if anything else. The fact that he wears his mother’s smock (and is willing to comfortably wear it in private with Lily in the scene before Hogwarts express) is an interesting detail to me. It feels like a rejection of his father and a sense of identification with his mother. With a person who he is comfortable with, he cuts an "impressive figure" with his smock. We see this detail pop up again in his textbook - where he is proud of being “Half A Prince”, emphasizing his magical lineage, his refuge in a violent, neglectful home.
Snape rejects his father (implied to be a violent man) by also rejecting hypermasculinity - as he tells sneeringly to James Potter: “If you’d rather be brawny, rather than brainy-” and by mocking “foolish wand waving” and how Potions is much more complex than that ("bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses" - thanks for some sensual imagery, Snape :D). His skillset, with the exception of Sectumsempra, is further testament to his rejection of hypermasculinity: Potions (a witches’ brew), spying (again, noted to be something women were famous for in war), branches of mind magic such as Occlumency. He is also strongly associated with mother figures - Eileen Prince (by his own admission), Lily Potter, Narcissa Malfoy. He has a feminine Patronus, in memory of his love and devotion to Lily. The insults also thrown his way are also emasculating: “Snivellus” “a lapdog”, and Dumbeldore’s own “a basket dangling on the arm of Lord Voldemort”. So if he rejects his own father, who does he look to as a male figure to model himself after? After all, he does discard the smock quite eagerly when he gets on Hogwarts Express - so he is keen to perform masculinity.
Tumblr media
But we see that teenage Snape and Adult Snape are entirely two different personas. Teenage Snape is anxious, twitchy and walks around like a spider. He swears, he is barely in control of his emotions, is often rendered incoherent when he is emotional and lashes out. And he lashes out in ways that is reflective of a power dynamic he models from home: he feels small, so he will look for someone else to make feel small.
Adult Snape, save for being around Harry where he regresses, is the opposite. He glides when he walks or "swoops like a bat" and if you see him in scenes apart from Harry’s, he is very in control of himself and his jabs are intended to discomfit rather than lashing out. (See the Bellatrix scene in Spinner’s End).
We don’t know too much about this phase of life - we can only speculate. Adult Snape has choice words to say when he witnesses Harry's lack of control over his emotions. He may have been speaking of himself: "Fools who wear their heart proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked so easily - weak people, in other words - they stand no chance against his powers!"
Tumblr media
Speculation aside, what we do know is that teenage Snape shows signs of unstable identity, insecurity - all prime for grooming into a cult. He also shows a disorganised attachment style. His caregiver, his mother is too preoccupied by her own abuse to be there for her son - we see this in glimpses Harry sees in OOTP: " woman cowering" where a man shouts at her, and a young, neglected Snape cries in the corner. Children born in homes like this have trouble regulating their emotions, simultaneously displaying tendencies to aggressively lash out or show disassociative symptoms. Both of which Snape displays. Statistically, this is also seen more in low income households where economic instability and resulting domestic instability creates an unsafe environment for the kids to safely form ideas of their identity, or express emotions in healthy ways, modelling instead out of behaviour seen at home.
I believe Voldemort, as the man who has experimented with boundaries of magic in ways no one else has, is an attractive father figure for someone like Snape ( and Barty Jr. as well). After all, Snape spends his spare time inventing hexes, making great shortcuts to Potions. He has a genuine thirst for learning and is inventive and original. In SWM, we see that he has written far more longer answers than anyone else, he is poring over his paper after exams. Voldemort, as a man who pushed boundaries, is an attractive mentor who shows him a new path. Joining a cult not only gives you power and protection (one he desperately needs because of his social inferiority and as someone who is relentlessly bullied), but it also gives you an identity.
Cults usually instill a homogenous, stable identity centered around charismatic leader. Cults turn your unbearable feelings (sense of rejection, social inferiority), and externalise it and manage to a higher purpose. A cult acts as a safe container for people who cannot understand their trauma or overpowering feelings. As a boy with an unstable identity, it is easier for him to project on Voldemort and re-enact an attachment that he has rejected in early childhood: the one with his father. Voldemort also reinforces a world view that the system had taught a half blood working class boy with nowhere to go arrives at: "There is no good or evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it".
Tumblr media
And then, Voldemort does something Snape doesn't believe a father figure could do, something he cannot conform to or abide by - he threatens the only relationship in his life that he puts on a pedestal. To ensure Lily Potter’s survival beyond asking Voldemort (who he no longer trusts to keep his word), he goes to Dumbledore. Why doesn't he trust Voldemort to keep his word? We don't really know, but given the dynamics we see at play in the first chapter of DH, where Voldemort employs Legliemency to confirm the information from Snape, the trusted spy who at that point had killed Dumbledore - it is safe to say ruling through absolute control can only take you so far. Contrast this with his later scenes with Dumbledore, where Dumbledore trusts him with magic he does not trust himself with: "I am very fortunate that I have you, Severus" .
But before we get there, we see their first scene. In his very first scene with Dumbledore, there is a power dynamic established. He visibly shrinks from Dumbledore’s judgement: “you disgust me”. He is also "stricken" when Dumbledore says "perhaps we sort too soon" - indicating a need for Dumbledore’s approval and validation. (Dumbledore’s own reaction to Snape is interesting - he doesn’t express this kind of strong disgust with Fenrir Greyback in HBP, for example. Perhaps he sees something of himself in this man who lost his way?)
Their next scene together is a grief stricken Snape, who has turned his misery and self loathing inwards and wishes to die. Dumbledore is cold, harsh: “What use will that be to anyone? If you truly loved Lily Evans, your way forward is clear”. Once Snape accepts the path of atonement Dumbledore lays out for him, Dumbledore is demonstrably gentler with him and is even exasperated that Snape asks him to keep “the very best of him” between them.
Tumblr media
Once Dumbledore becomes his new father figure, Snape’s loyalty to him is absolute. He will back up and defend Dumbledore where it is not even required - when people accuse Dumbledore in GOF of being unfair, Snape is quick to say: "Don't blame Dumbledore for Potter's lack of respect for school rules. Potter has been crossing lines ever since he first came" (Defending Dumbledore and insulting Harry, he has a talent lol). And at the end of GOF, he shows his Dark Mark to Cornelius Fudge, essentially outing himself as a former Death Eater, to back up Dumbledore's claims because Fudge was insulting him. Even in front of Bellatrix, he emphasises: "Dumbledore is a great wizard, yes he has - the Dark Lord acknowledges it".
He is also resentful of Dumbledore's trust in Harry with secrets that he is not privy to. He enjoys being Dumbledore's closest confidant..("why may I not have the same secrets?" "You trust him, you do not trust me"). It's a less intense version of Harry's "This isn't love, this mess he has left me in. He shared a damn sight of what he was thinking with Grindelwald than with me”. He angrily tells Fake Moody that Dumbledore happens to trust him and he "refuses to believe" he gave permission to search his office. Similarly, he tells Umbridge "jerkily" to ask Dumbledore why he doesn't have the DADA job. Snape is offended at any suggestions of Dumbledore's lack of trust in him.
He also has a similar disillusionment like Harry's with Dumbledore - "you have used me. I have spied for you, lied for you, all intended to keep Lily Potter's son safe and now you are telling me he is being raised like a pig for slaughter". All of this and yet, just like Harry, he chooses to do what Dumbledore would have wanted of him. He goes as far as committing a sort of patricide, just like his former father figure (who did it for different reasons) on the wishes of his current father figure.

And ultimately, he chose Dumbledore's plan of Greater Good rather than Lily's fierce intention of keeping her son alive. It’s also interesting that Dumbledore, a queer, non conforming man is what Snape ultimately chooses as a father /mentor to his path of atonement.
There is a cyclical projection of father among all three boys: Harry inadvertently projects a desire for a father figure on Snape when he wishes that the Half-Blood Prince was his dad. (Read more about Harry’s relationship with Prince in wonderful meta by @thedreamermusing here) Snape projects a wish for a father figure by projecting on to Voldemort. Ultimately, both of them project this desire onto Dumbledore, and it is Dumbledore who ends up being the ultimate guide and father figure for both of them, guiding them through their respective roles in the war.
Thank you to @thedreamermusing and pet_genius for the inputs for this post 🌻 here is a suggested reading from pet's treasure trove relevant to this meta: Death Eaters As A Cult.

Rise Splinter isn´t a very good parent and that´s okay.
Tumblr media
Look, before someone starts throwing tomatoes i want to clarify something: I like Splinter from Rottmnt and i really like Rise of the Tmnt. People who have followed me for a while know i enjoy the series and i´m sad about it how was cancelled. I also want to say that i don´t think other Splinters are 100% perfect and they have their own issues too.
What i don´t like is how the Rise of the tmnt fandom often overlooks Rise Splinter´s character flaws and pretends that he is a perfect father figure because this is not something supported by both by the narrative and his character growth.
So, what i´m going to do in this post is to examine his character flaws, his role as parent and character arc in the series. The point of this is to bring up this flaws to light, this is not a ¨character critical¨ or whatever you want to call it. It´s supposed to be character analysis, okay?
Let´s start with the short Turtle Tots short:
Link to the short:
 https://www.facebook.com/teenagemutantninjaturtles/videos/626074331524980/
This short is when the turtle brothers are still very young. We see that Splinter is trying to train them but he keeps watching a show he likes on TV. This short shows Splinter didn´t care about training his sons enough even when they were younger. He also leaves them with very dangerous weapons they don´t know how to use.
Splinter was already quite neglectful and careless since the start. He spend too much time watching TV rather than training his sons. It would more understandable if he was too busy working with something but here he is only watching a TV series. Later in the short he admits he should have paid more attention to the turtles and isn´t a good Sensei.
I have to say i didn´t like this short too much. I didn´t find funny the jokes of how Splinter ignores his sons for the TV series and leaves every 30 seconds. However, it provides some context for the characters and their relationship.
Now let´s talk about his characterization at the start of the series. (Season 1)
Tumblr media
Splinter at the start of the series is usually seen watching TV, whatever is his old movies or shows that he likes. He is rarely seen training the turtles or talking to them. Sometimes their interactions are the boys trying to ask him about something while he is watching his series. Splinter either answers them or ignores them.
He is usually so caught up in his own world that he doesn´t seem to be aware of who are the turtles fighting against until it starts biting them back. The boys usually don´t tell him about their adventures on the surface. One could argue that he assumes that they barely get in trouble and they are just playing.
In the episode ¨The Fast and the Furriest¨ Splinter ¨steals¨  Turtle Tank and takes it for a ride without Donatello´s permision. The turtles go through a lot of trouble to get the Turtle Tank back. By the end of the episode its Donatello, his son,is  the one who is putting a punishment on Splinter, who is supposed to be their father, for taking the Tank.
While Donnie getting angry at Splinter is quite funny, this episode shows that Yoshi can be very inmature at times, if not childish. He doesn´t ask his son to allow him use the tank, puts them in danger and is scolded like a child at the end instead of him being the ¨responsible adult figure¨.
Parents being cocky or careless isn´t something very new. There are parents that act as inmature or worse than Yoshi and would never admit they did something wrong. So, i take this episode as one of the examples that Splinter does this kind of things. He isn´t this selfish and reckless all the time, just sometimes.
Another aspect is that Splinter struggles with remember his sons´ names. He calls them by their color bandana instead of their real names. This sometimes can be funny but on the long run it becomes quite disturing,Imo. There is difference between ¨calling your son with an affectionate nickname¨ and ¨not remembering your sons´ name¨. There is a point that this it becomes sad.
The tmnt wiki describes Rise Splinter´s personality as a ¨Extremely flawed (albeit loved) father figure¨. This means that he has tons of flaws but he cares about his family: One clear example is when he helps Raphael with fighting his fear in ¨Mrs. Cuddles¨. He protects the big turtle a few times from the giant puppet monster and they defeat the monster together.
Splinter cares about April O´Neil like she was part of the family too. In episodes like "Always Be Brownies" he is seen hanging out with her and helping her. He also encourages April to believe more in herself since she has tons of doubts in that episode. (Season 2).
Hamato Yoshi / Splinter´s backstory
Lets say that Yoshi didn´t have the best childhood. His biological father was missing and he is not mentioned in the flashbacks. Splinter´s mother, Atsuko, left Yoshi when he was still a kid so she would be able to perform her family duty as protector in the Hamato family.
This terrible loss made Yoshi grow bitter with his Hamato duties and martial arts. He didn´t want anything to do with his family legacy since it was the reason that his mother was forced to left him. He had an argument with his maternal grandfather and sensei, Sho, and decided to use the skills he learned in during his training to become a superstar.
After many shenanigans involving his crush on Big Mama, a very powerful yokai, and Baron Draxum, Hamato Yoshi mutated into a humanoid rat and adopted the turtles, who were about to be used as soldiers by Draxum, like their own sons.
Tumblr media
Splinter´s backstory explains a lot of his behaviour in the series: It´s implied his father died/left him, his own mother also left him to perform her duties and he has a very strained relationship with his grandparent. The reason of why he has so many problems when it comes to being a good father it is because he himself lacked good family support. It makes sense that he doesn´t seem to know what he is doing or why he is messy when he is takeing care of the turtles.
Speaking of that, this explains why he isn´t very involved in his sons´ training. Maybe he just doesn´t want them to carry the same burden that he did as a child or just dislikes the idea of training them because it reminds him of bad memories about his grandfather and his mother.
He also watches his old movies since it reminds him of the time he was living his life at his fullest and was doing something he enjoyed. It implies he has his mind stuck in the past, perhaps wishing he could still be human and live like superstar.
Splinter´s Character growth
Like i mentioned, Yoshi wasn´t very interested in training his sons at the start of the series. He was negletful and spent too much time watching his movies... This aspect of his character isn´t ignored.
When the turtles asked him to train him ¨The Evil League of Mutants" he put Lou-Jitsu films for them to watch, this made their sons think he wasn´t taking them seriously and decided to go out on their own. While Splinter´s intention was to show them the basics by them learning the moves from the movies, he came off as he only cared about watching said films to their sons.
Tumblr media
After noticing how his sons lack experience and need his help, he begans training them. Splinter gets more involved with his Hamato destiny and starts being more honest to the boys about his past as human and protector.
One episode that´s really worth of mentioning is ¨Turtle-dega Nights: The Ballad of Rat Man¨: Splinter tricks Donatello and Mikey into going to a demolition center since he missed the old days he used to be a champion in the Battle Nexus. Donnie is very hurt when he finds out about this because he really wanted to spend more time with his father. By seeing this Yoshi realizes how his sons would like to do things together with him like hanging out. He apologizes to Donnie and tellshim that he may have lied but it is truth he wanted to spend time with him.
Along with getting more involved in his sons´s lives by teaching them and spending time with them, he lets Mikey hang out with Draxum because Mikey considers him part of the family too. (Draxum created them). He didn´t trust Draxum due to their mutual past but decides to give him a chance for Mikey´s sake.
In conclusion: In Rise of the tmnt, Splinter starts as somewhat a neglectful parent figure, sometimes acting childish and not being the best role model for their sons. Overtime he begins to understand the consequences of not training his family and gets more involved in their lives. He tries to be a responsible father despite he had tons of issues with his own family growing up. While very flawed, he has good intentions and cares deeply about his sons.

Meant To Be - Loki x Fem! Reader
Summary: Much to your displeasure, your parents have promised you away to the God of Mischief of all people.
Tags: Arranged Marriage AU, Light Elf! Reader
Warnings: Aside from Loki hating himself, nothing.
Words: 2878
Tumblr media
I Masterlist I
A/N: Some good old-fashioned, ‘redeemed after The Avengers and the other movies didn’t happen’ Loki. Like, really cheesy, self-indulgent 2012 stuff. I just want to ignore all misery that happens in the series okay?
“Ew! Stop it!”
You were eight at the time when you and Loki first met, by means of negotiation between both your parents.
If only you knew that this encounter should be the first impression of what should be your husband in the near future...
Frigga and Odin could only plead for their son to be on his best behavior - but well, it’s the God of Mischief we’re talking about. Must be hard to inherit such a title from your very birth.
Just when you put the little bonquet of flowers he had picked up for you towards your face to admire it, several little spiders emerged from the blossoms.
“You’re no fun.” The raven-haired boy stood a safe distance away from you, arms crossed as his gleeful laughter turned into a broad sulk. "And your ears are weird.”
“I hate you!” you screeched in your childish rage, throwing the flowers to the ground and trampling onto them. “Where’s your brother? Thor is way nicer than you!”
“Well, why don’t you marry him then?!” he mocked to cover up his hurt pride, picking up a handful of dirt and throwing it in your direction.
“I don’t need any friends anyway...” the little boy whispered to himself, running away from the scene with tears filling the corner of his eyes.
“I don’t need anyone. I’m way better than all of them!”
Not even Frigga was fast enough to catch up with him, while Odin uttered some fake apologies to your parents, promising them that everything will go as planned.
You on the other hand were running towards your mother, tightly grabbing onto her dress. “He’s mean! I wanna go home!”
As Queen of the Light Elves, your mother was a being full of grace and composure - and you were hoping to one day become such a formidable person as well.
She bowed down to your height, petting your hair as you rubbed the mixture of tears and dirt from your cheeks. Just her bright smile alone would sometimes be enough to make you forget about your worries - but not today.
“My sweet child” she cooed, cradling you in her arms. “One day you’ll understand.”
However, this would be the last time you paid Asgard a visit - at least until now. Because no matter how deeply you wished to never meet him again, the words your mother spoke on that day haunted you all those years:
“For this is your duty as a princess.”
[Present Day - Asgard]
It felt so unreal when you stuck your head outside of the wooden carriage, the wind playing with your hair as your glare wandered over the rainbow bridge you were crossing.
Silence strained the air, your parents unable to do even so much as look into your eyes. Hel, how you wished this was only a dream.
Behind you was a whole company of Light Elves, transporting all of your belongings to what should be your homecountry from now on.
Now there was no way back, that much was sure.
You were supposed to meet your soon-to-be husband on that very same day, one day before your wedding to be precize.
One could only guess why you weren’t allowed to visit Asgard again for all those years, even though you were practically born just for this reason - for this person.
To become Loki’s bride was your involuntary purpose, and you couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to be truly free.
Maybe your parents thought the God of Mischief to have a bad influence on their growing daughter, pulling you into his harmless yet dishonorable schemes. Or they simply feared you to refuse marrying said man if you got to know him better, finding out just what kind of person you were promised to.
Not that your parents were pleased either...everyone in the Nine Realms knew the stories.
To Odin, there was no point in hiding the disgrace his adoptive son had brought over Asgard. Not only was he responsible for an attack on Midgard, sacrificing thousands of lives for his own sake, drunken by greed for power.
But all of you were shocked to hear that Loki Odinson - or rather Laufeyson - was never Asgardian to begin with.
A Frost Giant.
Among your kind, they were known to be one of the most terrible abominations in the nine realms, and murderer of countless of your kind - and this should be the father to your future children?
Only thinking about this cruel twist of fate made you want to vomit...
So why did you agree to proceed with the preparations as if nothing had happened? How in Alfheim’s name could you reject their offer to wed you to Thor instead of that lunatic?
Was it that through your upbringing and royal duties, you had lost your own free will? Or simply fear of stepping aside the path that everyone had prepared for you?
It was probably the fact that you didn’t want to get into true love’s way...you and Thor stayed in brief contact through Heimdall, and you just knew how much that human girl meant to him.
You were kinda jealous, though...the concept of being in love was foreign to you, having a vague idea of it from novels only. But real life just wasn’t meant to be that was, was it?
You couldn’t escape your fate, that was what it was - for this treaty would unite both kingdoms, bringing peace and wealth for all of their inhabitants.
No way you could be so selfish as to decline...even if it meant you had to suffer for the rest of your life.
“My Ladyship, we have arrived!” a guard spoke as he knocked on the carriage door, with your parents hinting that you needed to step out first.
The very same guard now yelled from the pit of his lungs, making you feel the whole Kingdom of Asgard could hear. “Now arriving: Lady Y/N Y/L/N, eldest Princess of Alfheim and heir to the throne.”
You heared the people whispering as you took your first, insecure steps, blinded by the bright daylight.
“She’s so pale, like ice” or “Why are her ears like that?” were rather nice comments compared to others plainly calling you ugly, scary or a ‘disgrace’.
Of course your Kingdoms had been in a war for several decades, but this was long in the past - before your very birth, even. So what’s the reason you should bear with such hostility in the place everyone expected you to call ‘home’ from now on?
One thing was clear from the very beginning: You would never belong here.
“May I?” a dark, husky voice interrupted your self-pitying. You blinked heavily, still trying to adjust to all those golden surroundings, until your blurry vision finally cleared up.
“C’mon.” The voice belonged to the man in front of you, looking gravely nervous with sweat dripping from his forehead. He was reaching out a hand for you to take, and you gladly accepted since you didn’t want to embarass yourself further by falling out of the carriage.
And still, you managed to somehow miss a step and fall right into his arms. “Oh my, so clumsy” the man snickered as he catched you, clearing his throat as you grabbed onto his chest to regain balance. "Not very graceful for someone of your status.”
“And you are-” The words got stuck in your throat when you stared back into those eyes, their emerald green awaking memories you’d rather forgotten entirely. “L-Loki!”
“Exactly, my dear. The one and only.” Smooth and calm, he  pecked a kiss on the back of your hand, andyou couldn’t help but admire just how well he had aged: His wild locks were combed back, sharp features complimenting his face as he tried his best to give you his most innocent smile.
Yet you kept your guard up, always expecting him to somehow embarass you just for the fun of it. “When it comes to him, always expect the unexpected” Thor once warned you, and you won’t forget about it that easily.
“It’s a pleasure finally meeting you” was your firm declaration, only to be rewarded with a scoff. “You are speaking to the God of Lies, Lady Y/N - there is no use in trying to deceive me” he whispered into your ear, making you shiver in unpleasant anticipation.
“Carry her belongings to my rooms” he dismissed the servants with a simple gesture of his hand, offering his other arm for you to cling on as he escorted you through the palace.
The giant halls were almost empty, nothing like back on Alfheim where you and your brethren would enjoy each other’s company in midst of nature. A sole tear escaped your eye when you thought back to those carefree days, which are now over.
“Are you alright, m’lady?” Much to your surprise, your fiancé sounded honestly concerned about your well-being. “If you are tired, we can postpone our tour of the palace until you’ve rested.”
“May I speak from the heart?” You gulped after finishing that sentence, scaring yourself with all the stories you’ve heared about this mad troublemaker.
Somehow you had the feeling that if you were to overstep your boundaries with that brute, it would have consequences beyond your imagination. He might seem generous and polite right this moment, but what would someone like him do if you enrage him? Countless images were circling in your head, one worse than the other.
Loki furrowed his brows, exhalinge deeply. For him, your expression was an open book to what you were thinking right now.
“Y/N, my dear Lady, if you want it or not: Starting tomorrow, we share a bond. I am deeply sorry that a veritable flower as you are had to end up with someone like me, but I promise to treat you as well as possible.”
Turning around so you’d not detect how it hurt him to speak from the heart, he added with a shaky voice “Yet there is no reason for you to hold back your hatred for me. No harm will come your way, I swear upon the little honor I have left.”
Even though his words made you feel a deep sympathy with the god, you weren’t quite sure if you could decipher truth or deceit in them. Maybe he just wanted to lure you into saying what you truly thought of him?
He’s right - you will have to spend the rest of your life with him, so don’t mess this up from the very start!
“I-I don’t hate you!” was the first thing you blurted out, grabbing onto his cloak. Loki turned around, rising his eyebrow as he scanned your face for any hint of a lie.
Althrough it was the truth, at least to a certain extend. You’ve seen each other only once, when you were still little. The rest is all tales and rumours, but you personally don’t have a reason to despise him.
There was no way you could promise to accept his past or heritage, let alone forgive him - yet as long as he’d treat you with respect, you’d return the favour.
“T-There’s just a question on my mind this whole time...aren’t you mad? I-I mean someone like- well...like you...” you gestured around awkardly, almost making him crack a smile. “I mean...I thought you wouldn’t let your parents dictate your life.”
Another deep sigh escaping his mouth, this times with his eyes closed. “This isn’t about Asgard or my adoptive parents. I choose my own path.”
Suddenly, Loki wrapped one arm around you, flicking his fingers with the free one.
“Hold onto me” he ordered indifferent as he casted his spell, teleporting both of you away before you could even comprehend, let alone ask him what he was doing.
It happened in the fraction of a second, yet felt like hovering through an empty space for an eternity.
“Now open your eyes.” You hadn’t even realized that you squeezed them shut during the shift, slowly opening them while Loki lifted your chin with his index finger.
The environment was magnificent. Had you ever seen something this beautiful in your whole life?
Obviously you had no clue where you were, but this was the first time seeing so much untouched nature on Asgard. There were flowers blooming in all colours imagineable, clear rivers crossing the lands in between grassy hills, and animals nearby a small forrest.
“It’s not like I didn’t educate myself about the Light Elves and their way of living” Loki stammered, unconsciously intertwining your fingers with yours as he watched you admiring the view. “So I could make you comfortable here, I mean.”
He plummeted down on the grass, still a little wet from the morning dew, and gestured for you to do the same. It was weird, actually, but also somehow adorable - how the infamous ‘Silver Tongue’ had lost his ability with words. “I’ve done very little right in my life full of wrongs. Hurt a lot of people.”
“Mmmhh” you hummed approvingly, not knowing what else to say - yet for some reason, you didn’t let go off of his hand, squeezing it ever so slightly.
“And even though I can’t possibly redeem myself, I wish to change for the better.” he muttered, rubbing the back of his head. “I just never knew how to start.”
Loki Odinson really was full of surprises. He was nothing like the child you’ve met long ago, and the complete opposite of what you imagined the ‘God of Mischief’ to be.
You had expected a power-hungry, selfish and cruel man to wed you - and yet there he was: Insecure and broken, only a shell of the person he once was.
Just what had you missed all those years? What things happened to break someone’s will like this?
And was he truly beyond repair?
“Those past weeks, I have visited Alfheim more times than you could comprehend” he giggled nervously, avoiding your eyes. “Concealed, of course.”
Well, that sounded kind of weird, but you knew better than to talk someone down who was just opening up to you. So your sole answer was “What for?”
“There was no way a criminal like me would still be seemed fit for this ceremony - and yet I was given this chance anyway. My mother told me that it was you who insisted on carrying on the arrangement, so...I just wanted to know what person would be willingly ruin their life.”
Something different was shining through the god’s orbs, and you couldn’t quite decipher it. Was it hope? Hope, that if you had given him a chance, his life could lead into a different direction? To change himself from the burden that was his birth title?
“I-I guess I don’t want to mess this up like I always do” he whimpered barely audible, before staring at you in shock and embarassment. Until now, he hadn’t realized just how vulnerable he made himself.
Just what the hell would you think about him now? You probably had lost any respect, or thought himself to be crazy. How weak...
So he was quick to put on the confident facade again, wearing his smug grin as if that all was just part of a big joke only he’d understand. But even though you barely knew him, he couldn’t fool you.
“Sometimes it’s enough just to try.” Your head turned from the sight of nature to your fiancé and back several times, before you brought up the courage and put a hand on his shoulder, whispering “So you can’t really mess this up.”
“Gladly you don’t seem to know yet just how much misery I cause.” He kept that thought to himself, to not scare you away.
“I am aware that you could never love someone like me, Y/N. But I can provide for you, dedicate myself to making you content with being my wife. My newfound purpose.”
The purpose of a war criminal - that sure put yourself under a lot of pressure. And still, it made you somewhat proud, and grateful as well. Because it was the first time someone valued you as a person, and not the princess of Alfheim.
Unaware of how much time had passed, both of you would get used to each other’s presence in silence, enjoying the nature while you processed this eventful day.
Exhausted from the long travel and all that rollercoaster of emotion, you soon found yourself dazzling into sleep onto Loki’s shoulder. If only you could see him adore you, staring in awe that someone could actually feel so safe in his presence.
Carefully, the god picked you up, gently lifting you on his arms to make your way back to the palace, where everyone was frantically searching for both of you. Well, Loki was used to trouble -  but right now, it was worth it.
May it be right or wrong, and even though you couldn’t explain this sentiment, you had a good feeling when it came to the things that were just about to come.
“You won’t regret your decision, Y/N Y/L/N. On my side, I assure you a bright future.”

In Case You Don’t Live Forever
~chapter one rewritten~
Pairing: Peter Parker x Venom!Reader
Synopsis: you are Peter’s greatest love and Spider-Man’s greatest enemy
Masterlist and Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Married?” You squeaked as your eyes grazed over the words on the card a hundred times without retaining any of the information. As you momentarily forgot how to even read, you had to rely on the words coming out of Andy’s mouth.
“Yes, uh, married.” He awkwardly cleared his throat. “Dani and I are getting married over the summer.”
The awkward silence filled the air, suffocating the three of you, but you didn’t care. You were still staring at that damn card. That damn card that said your ex boyfriend was getting married to another girl.
“Married.” You repeated, at a loss for words.
“You said that already, dumbass.” Venom chimed in, telepathically. You rolled your eyes and kicked the bench, signaling to her to quiet down.
“Yeah.” He said again. “I know we’re young, but I’m sure about her. She’s the love of my life.”
“Wow. Good for you.” You faked a smile as you stared at the invitation. “It’s Uh, it’s a lot to take in.”
“I know. That’s why I wanted to tell you in person. I figured it would be better than you randomly getting the card in the mail and finding out that way.” Andy explained.
“Our hero.” Venom snarled, so you pinched your leg to send her the message to be quiet.
“Yeah. Yeah, no, I’m glad you told me.” You lied as your eyes finally processed something on the card.
“You’re getting married on August 10?” You asked, finally tearing your eyes away from the invitation to look at him. He looked good, you had to admit. His curly brown hair was cut shorter than usual and he was still wearing his police uniform.
“Bright and early. I chose that day because-“
“Because it’s your parents anniversary. I know.” You cut him off, a little sharply.
“I’m sorry if this is awkward.” He frowned. “I understand if you’re too hurt to come.”
“It’s fine. We were together and now we’re not. Besides, I’m really happy for you and Dani. She really helped me get back on my feet when Venom and I first bonded. I like her. And if you want to marry her on that day, then go ahead.” You said, and you meant it. You did like Dani. You’d like her more if she wasnt dating the love of your life, but hey, nobody’s perfect.
“You’re lying. We want him back. He looks so juicy and delicious.” Venom said. You choked on your saliva for a moment at her words and Andy was quick to pat your back.
“You alright?” He asked. You nodded and made a mental note to have a domestic conversation about boundaries with Venom when you got home.
“I’m fine. And anyways, I’ve uh, I’ve moved on.” You lied, adverting your eyes so he wouldn’t catch on.
“What? No we haven’t?” Venom didn’t grasp the social cue.
“You have?” Andy asked, seemingly taken aback.
“No! We love you!” Venom growled in your head.
“Yep. I’m in a deeply committed and loving relationship.” You nodded as you looked anywhere but at him. It wasn’t a total lie. You were technically in a relationship with Venom, though be it a host/parasite kinda deal.
“What’s he like?” Andy wondered, looking pissed off all the sudden.
“They’re great. They’re, uh…tall. Super, super tall.” You began to describe Venom. So far, it was all true. Venom was 7’6 in her final form.
“They’re black, like yourself, and they’ve got this big, beautiful smile.” You could feel yourself cringing internally as you painted the picture for him.
“You think our smile is beautiful?” Venom teased you.
“And they just always have my back. They’re my ride or die, you know? If I didn’t have them, I’d be dead. Literally.” You finished. Also true. If you and Venom ever got separated, you would both die. Andy was looking off into the distance, sucking his teeth before nodding again.
“That’s nice.” He said, but his tone didn’t sound like he thought it was nice.
“I’d literally die.” You repeated to fill the awkward silence.
“I get it.” He deadpanned.
“Like, I’d freaking perish.”
“Alright.” He held up his hands and you stopped.
“So, do you think you can come?” He brought the conversation back to him, something he was good at.
Of course you could come. What else would you be doing? But you were just getting back on my feet after losing your job and a wedding might be too much too soon. You were at rock bottom before you found Venom. Well, before you found each other. That was nearly a year ago, but that day came back in flashes every now and then...
“You’re seriously breaking up with me? Over a job?” You asked as you followed Andy out of the police station. You were under the impression that he had just been fired because of the files you took from his computer. Classified files on local businessman Carlton Drake and the people he had killed with his experiments, of course.
“Yeah, I am.” He snapped. “I’m done with you.”
“Can’t we talk about this?” You pleaded as you followed him down the street.
“Okay.” He stopped, looking angry. “Do you want to talk about how you embarrassed me in front of my precinct? I just got yelled at in front of my all my coworkers because of you and your greed. You used me for your stupid show.”
“I wasn’t being greedy.” You insisted, ignoring that he called your job stupid. “You had the information on Carlton Drake and I needed it to make an accusation. He’s killing people! He’s a bad guy, Andy. And I write about and report bad men. That’s my job. I didn’t know that looking at your files would get you fired.”
Andy put his hands on his hips and looked around, suddenly sheepish.
“I wasn’t fired.” He mumbled.
“What?” You switched from upset to confused. “Then why are you angry?”
“I was demoted to traffic duty for two weeks because of you.” He pointed an angry finger at you and you almost laughed.
“I’m sorry, wait.” You compared yourself. “You’re breaking up with me after two years together because I got you demoted to traffic duty? Are you serious?”
“Do you know how embarrassing it is to wear that orange vest? It’s humiliating.” Andy shouted and you covered your mouth to keep from laughing. “Everyone in the neighborhood knows me and now they’re gonna know I’m on traffic duty.”
“People know you?” Your eyes widened at how dense he was being. “Andy, I’m a local celebrity. I had a whole show on YouTube that I was just fired from. Actually fired. You’re just a police officer who was demoted.”
“To traffic duty.” He repeated, as if it was suddenly worse.
“I know!” You snapped before calming down. “Are we really over? Just because of one mistake?”
“You used me.” He shrugged. “I can’t trust you.”
You stared at him as he walked over to you, never breaking eye contact as he took his key off your key ring.
“We’re over.” He hissed before turning around and walking away.
“Y/N?” Andy waved a hand in front of your face, snapping you out of it.
“Oh, right sorry. Um…” You trailed off as you mulled it over. You were happy for him, but you weren’t ready to see him marry someone else. That was gonna be you guys. Of course you wanted to be at his wedding, but you wanted to be the bride.
“Actually, I cant.” You blurted, quickly thinking of a lie. “The Daily Bugle called me and offered me a job in New York. They want me to cover a story on some serial killer. I was gonna move there part time until the story is done. I’m leaving in a few weeks.”
It was partially true. The Daily Bugle did reach out to ask you to write the story, but you had planned to write it at home. News of Andy’s impending marriage was enough to drive you out of the state.
“Oh really?” Andy raised an eyebrow. “Wow.”
He was never one to celebrate you, even when you were together, but his reaction seemed different now. He almost seemed surprised that you were still successful without him.
“Yea. I just finalized everything this morning.” You lied again as you wondered how you’d get a NYC apartment on such short notice. “But hey, maybe I’ll finish early and make it back in time for your big day. I mean, it’s only April. I have lots of time. How many people could this guy possible kill until August?” You joked, but Andy didn’t laugh. He never really got your sense of humor.
“That’s great Y/N.” He nodded, not much enthusiasm behind it. “Things are really turning around for you. I can’t believe you found a job and a boyfriend. I didn’t think it would happen.”
You narrowed your eyes at his condescending comment but decided to brush it off.
“Well, it did. I’m on to bigger and better things.” You cut into him a little as you stood up. “I better go. I told my partner I’d meet them for lunch. Bye!”
“Bye!” Andy called after you, still in a funk from what you told him.
You practically ran home and slid down your door once you got inside.
“Holy shit. I’m such a liar.” You grimaced and covered my face with my hands. Venom manifested herself in her snake-like form and looked at you.
“You’re not a liar if we move to New York and start dating.” She said, making you laugh.
“You have a point. In that case, will you be my girlfriend, Miss Venom?” You asked sarcastically and Venom grinned.
“You’re not really my type, but I’m willing to settle.” Venom matched your sarcasm.
“Then let’s make moving plans, baby.” You sighed. “We’re going to New York.”

summary: After slacking off junior year and struggling to juggle responsibilities, you're stuck retaking your math course in the summer. With your future on the line, you were stuck with San to work together with you so you both can pass this summer course as seniors. You two seem to have a hard time focusing on your studies. Is it because you don't understand the work or a certain someone that's distracting you

Your stepmom Maria seemed to be very disappointed in you once again for letting her down this year. She had planned so many family trips, vacations, and hangouts for the whole family to enjoy this summer, but thanks to my failing this dumb math class, I have to be stuck in this school until July.
“You better be lucky I can afford for you to retake this class. Your reckless behavior has gone on long enough.” Your mom walks beside you upstairs inside Walnut Hills Highschool making sure you don’t skip out on the first day of summer school.
“Mom, you know you don’t have to walk me to class. I know what I’m doing!” You groan at her as she links her arms with you in the hallway.
“Clearly you don’t! If you did you wouldn’t be stuck here retaking this class. Now we’re almost there so keep your head high and lose the tude.”
There it was class 2A once again. This class was an absolute nightmare. I took a deep breath and slid the door open slowly with my eyes halfway open anxious to see who was sitting in the classroom.
“Welcome back miss Y/LN! Good seeing you again.” Mr. Harris said with a smile. This sucker, you had a love-hate relationship with Mr. Harris. You loved the fact that he was super nice and helpful when he was your English tutor freshman year, but you hated how he had a crush on your mom and how weird teacher-parent conference meetings would get when they would sneak off with each other in his office.
“Good morning Mr. Harris. Good seeing you again.” Your mom blushed to try to contain her excitement, but it was too obvious. “Anyways I’ll be heading my way out. She’s all yours for the summer.” Your mom gave you one last hug and kiss on the cheek before she left.
You sighed, rolling your eyes, fanning yourself already sweating from the classroom’s lack of cold air blowing. You complained again by saying.“Mr. Harris, are we staying in this room all summer? I’m sweating like a fat pig.”
“Unfortunately, yes. The PCs in the computer lab have been shut down and the school plans on replacing them with apple PCs by august. So these are the cards we’ve been dealt with. Let’s get started shall we.”
All the students in the classroom sighed, taking sips of their water bottles as Mr. Harris took attendance.
“Let’s see...We have Angela, Oliver, Chris, Yui, Y/N...Who’s missing? Choi San?”
“Here.” San slams the door open, arriving 20 minutes late with his chocolate milk in one hand and a glazed donut in the other. “Sorry Mr. Harris, I’ve overslept.”
Mr. Harris sighs, shaking his head, chuckling to calm himself down. “As expected. Just glad that you’re here, please have a seat.”
There was only one seat left which was in the front next to you and that would of course be his assigned seat for the rest of the summer.
You never heard much of San except everyone saying that he dropped out sophomore year.
You remember having a crush on him during freshman orientation when you both were shadowed by this kid named Lee Know. The whole time you were quiet, but you remembered staring at the handsome devil strutting in his uniform the whole time.
So to see him once again took you and everyone by surprise.
“Class, make sure you remember your partner’s name sitting next to you for this summer because you will work together in order to pass this class.”
“Say what?” You look over at San, who was making origami at his desk. “Good seeing again kid.” He smirks at you leaving you speechless. “Want a donut?” He reached out, handing a piece to you.
You were slamming your head on the desk thinking to yourself. “Mom, I know I promised I would finish this class, but I don’t know if I can...”
Tumblr media
Mr. Harris had you paired up in groups of two to complete a series of word problems and online on this website called Pearson. On the bright side, walnut hills provided MacBooks for students that didn’t have their laptop, but of course, if they tried to watch Netflix, facetime with their friends, or search for something inappropriate, their laptop will be shut down for 24 hours until further notice.
The first two weeks were pretty quiet between you and San because both of you aren’t necessarily the best conversation starters and whenever San would ask you something it would only just help him cheat on an assignment or help him make up an excuse to skip class. Up until the third week hit you had enough of his excuses trying to avoid doing the work.
The third week you were assigned to work on three hours of pre-cal on the computer and you had the option to locate to a different classroom of course if you couldn’t focus in a cramped room full of sweaty students. So you and san decided to work in the math lab across from class 2A and try to work out a plan.
“Listen San I know this class is our worst enemy, but I promised my mom I would graduate next year and If I have to restart my junior year again I would die of embarrassment. So please try a little harder.” San sighs nodding to your proposal looking deeply into your eyes.
“Fine. I guess I’m in the same boat. I figured retaking junior year would make my mom mad too.” He reaches his hand shaking it with yours smiling.
Your heart starts pounding pretty fast as you're exchanging the agreement with San and you gaze your eyes back at the computer again clearing your throat.
“So, all we have to do is remember the methods Mr. Harris taught us and we'll be alright. What section are we on?” San scrolls through his laptop trying to login into his Pearson account. “I believe it's section 3.A. 20 questions which are due this Friday?! Man, Mr. Harris won’t give us a break.”
You giggled at his surprised reaction. Sometimes he can be soft which makes you melt inside even more. It made you wonder why he was always hanging around with the rebels with no future at school. Maybe life at home was rough and he didn’t have a lot of friends. All these questions were running through your head, which made you not realize that San suddenly moved closer to you.
“You need help with that problem? You were staring blankly at the screen for the past 10 minutes. Here let me show you how to do this.” San wraps his arm around you, pulling you closer to writing the answer problem step by step to help you understand it better, but that wasn’t exactly helping.
All you were doing was admiring his beautiful face to face. It made you remember the first time you saw him with his glowing melon skin, sharp jawline, the way he can pull off a white collar and a striped tie it just seemed impossible.
On top of that his knowledge in math made him 10x more attractive, but you couldn’t understand why someone as brilliant and essential as him set himself up in the wrong crowd and stuck in this situation that cost him his high school diploma.
“So that’s how you get y= 18 + 15x. Any questions?” “Yeah, why the hell are you so fine. Forget Mr. Harris, you can be my tutor.” Would’ve sounded better in your head, but you accidentally said it out loud.
San looked at you with his eyes flashing open and then he burst out laughing. “Well Ms. Y/LN if I knew you were having this much fun, I would’ve signed up for this a long time ago.”
“Same here. You know I didn’t think math was your thing. How come you're so good at it?” He sighs, leaning looking up at the ceiling as his mood changes very quickly. “My dad is an entrepreneur and a CEO of his own company.
He’s very good at math so he taught me at an early age so someday I can take over his company someday. He’s never home at times either so I’m pretty much always helping my friends with their math homework as a side hustle.”
“That must be tiring. I know that must be a lot of pressure for a 17-year-old.” San nods his head in agreement and says “It is, but hey that’s what I’ve been dealing with all my life. We got to finish these questions so we can go home early.” With the both of you panicking you turn back to your computers finishing the last set of problems.
Tumblr media
You were having so much fun at school with San that you forgot you had to make it to dinner on time with your wicked stepmother. Ever since you’ve started your sophomore year at Walnut Hills your father was keeping his dating life a secret until he unexpectedly announced that he wanted to marry Maria. Your dad was always the playboy so it always would irritate you whenever he brings another woman into the picture.
Your father planned on marrying Maria by the time you’ve graduated high school, but that all ended in tragedy when your father one day died in a car accident on the way to your volleyball game. This is why you quitted sports, fell out with your best friends, and flunked almost all your classes. Maria has always shown tough love even when your dad was around, but that’s because she never knew what it was like to raise children and she wanted to learn to become closer to your family, but your relationship with her was always rocky.
Arriving late at night you’ve run to your house sweating and panting to your angry stepmom in the kitchen tapping her foot.
“Y/N, do you know what time it is? School ended at 5. Why are you late for dinner? This better is good missy.” You caught your last breath and then rolled your eyes at Maria’s snarky comment. “Me and my partner in my class took longer than expected to finish our assignment. Sorry, okay?”
You’ve slammed your backpack on the back of your chair and grabbed a plate of yong chow rice to eat with your family. “Don’t you roll your eyes at me? I just asked a simple question. Don’t tell me your working with that Choi San guy?”
You shook your head as you started to feel yourself explode at the dinner table, but you let her finish. “I know that because Mr. Harris told me. Look all I’m saying is you better stay concentrated on getting out of summer school and don’t fool around with these boys. Got it?”
You’ve finally snapped and stood up slamming the table with your fists. “You know what, I don’t understand why you're nagging me about every little thing going on in my life. You can’t just be proud that I finished my assignments for this week. But, no you keep finding ways to complain to me about me not working hard enough or messing around. I’m getting really tired of it. That’s why I hate it here!”
“Y/N! Don’t walk away from me when I’m talking to you.” She followed you all the way upstairs until you closed the door and locked it in her face. You were too tired and frustrated to be dealing with her constant ranting so you’ve just sat in your room, put your AirPods on, and blocked her yelling from the background. “We’ll talk about this another day. Psh teenagers.”
For the rest of the night, you smush your face in your pillow crying yourself to sleep. You look back on the polaroids of your dad around your room and through your phone missing his presence in your home. “Dad, why did you leave me alone with her? If it was just the three of us, things would be so different. I miss you.”
Tumblr media
Your partnership with San seemed to improve drastically which was surprising, to say the least. All the other kids in the class however didn’t seem to improve. Some were either cheating or missing the deadlines. Mr. Harris was not pleased by the results so he found other alternatives.
“You know what class, here’s what we’re about to do. To make this a lot more fun, how about we do class activities for extra credit. Since some of you are glued to your devices nowadays we can play games like Kahoot, Jenga, and Tetris to answer questions. I can even narrow down the questions on the assignments. How does that sound?” Everyone in class chants and cheers loving the idea which keeps them even more motivated to continue working.
“Alright everyone the games won’t start today, but next week. This is the last week of June and summer school so that means we’re halfway there from finishing. You cannot screw this up. Try acing this week’s quiz with 90% everyone or no games for those with below 70%. Got it?” “Yes, Mr. Harris!” You’ve become closer to the class since it was only nine of you, but your best friends are Angela, San, and Chris. The four of you stopped for ice cream after school to study for this week’s big math test that covered five sections.
“Gosh, Mr. Harris put 40 questions on the test! What the hell is he on crack?”
Everyone laughed at Chris complaining. He would always try to find shortcuts just so he can finish playing PubG, but he always ends up getting in trouble because he procrastinates too much. The only reason he’s somewhat doing well is because of his girlfriend Angela.
She was always a straight-A student and a bit of a geek at school, but outside of school, she was a baddie. She ended up having to retake pre-cal because she wanted to offer to help Chris with homework but ended up failing with him. “Oh hush it’s not even that bad. If you would’ve done those practice problems like you were told, you wouldn’t be complaining so much.” She slaps the back of Chris' head making him spat out his dip cone.
San looks at them admiring their silly dysfunctional relationship and then looks at you mesmerized. He leans in whispering in your ear saying “Why can’t we be more like them. They’re cute together.” You turned to him, slapping his shoulder softly giggling. “We shouldn’t. We agreed to only focus on school, remember?” He looks at you pouting “Does it have to be strictly about work? Like Mr. Harris said, we can have fun with it. We are partners after all.”
You look to the side trying to avoid his gaze as you take another spoonful of mint cocoa. With your sloppy spoonful of ice cream leftover on your face, San quickly grabbed a napkin from the table and whipped your face. “Be careful, you had a little mint chocolate on your face.” He kissed the side of your lips and smirked at you right afterward leaving everyone shocked.
“You guys are hot together.”
Chris with no filter shouted out leaving you a blushing mess. You quickly grabbed your ice cream and backpack as you heard your stepmom pulling up at the dairy parking lot. “You know what duty calls. I’ll meet you guys at the same time tomorrow at San’s place just like we planned. I gotta shave my legs. Later!” San wanted to grab your arm real quick to give you a proper goodbye, but you already beat him to it by sprinting to the car.
“Honey, why did you run in the car so fast? You would have finished your ice cream-”
“No time for that, just drive Mom.” Maria laughs looking at you covering your face with your cardigan and looking at San’s pouting face playing with his spoon he just ate from his ice cream. “Reminds me of the good old days when I was in high school.” Your stepmom cranked the engine and drove all the way home.
When you arrived home you flopped your body on your bed trying to focus on finishing studying for your test by yourself, but all your thinking about San’s kiss replaying in your head over and over again. “Ugh that San man, why did his lips have to be so soft? I'm supposed to be finding the formula for x, not the formula to get into San’s heart.” You’ve pulled out your laptop attempting to send an email to Mr. Harris said that you wanted to switch partners, but you prevent yourself from pressing send through your mouse.
“There’s no point. We only have four more weeks plus he would be upset if I do that. I just need to calm down.” You’ve closed out of your email tab and finished your homework sinking in your thoughts.
Tumblr media
“Dad, hey it’s me again, I just wanted to leave a voicemail letting you know that later on today I’ll be bringing my friends over to work on studying for our big test. It would be nice for you to meet them, but of course, I know work is more important. Anyways please come visit again sometime soon. Love you, peace.” San sighs, hanging up the phone as he sets the table up getting ready for you, Angela, and Chris to come over. San has always learned to live basically on his own growing up.
His father is always running off on business trips, his mother left him at a young age to marry a wealthy man and his older brother was already out of the country to join the Navy. His brother was the only person he can count on for family events when it came to birthdays, Christmas, and even father’s day. At least his brother could attend and catch up with his crazy high school life.
Snapping out of his train of thoughts he opens the door as soon as he hears the doorbell ring. “Coming!” He fixed his Pikachu long sleeve and parted his hair before he opened the door. He was smiling so wide after seeing it was you, Angela and Chris.
“C'mon in you guys. Welcome to mi palacio. Let’s study in the living room.”
Everyone ran to the living room pleased with the smell of pina colada candles filling the house. You were shocked that San got to live in this huge nicely decorated home yet you seem to notice that his family is not present.
You see picture frames of him when he was younger in a monster inc sitting on the fountain at Disneyland.
There was also another cute family photo of San’s best friend named Wooyoung that he met since kindergarten, but sadly they ended up cutting ties since they went to different schools.
A picture that stood out from all of them was one of him sitting on his mom’s lap when he was five smiling super hard with his pretty white smile. You’ve never seen him smile that hard and you were always curious more about his past so the family photos have shown a nice glimpse into his past “Hey y/n cmon I made some ramen. We have to pull out the flashcards so we can study.” “W-wait, but your baby pictures I want!” “No time we can look at them later.”
He winks and gently holds your hand and walks downstairs with you.
“Here goes the love birds. We have to try San’s famous spicy ramen dish before it gets too cold.” Everyone sits down at the dinner table clasping their hands together ready to dig in until the door opens.
“Surprise brother! Sorry I’m late. Did I miss dinner?” San’s brother Jinhyuk walks in with veggie wraps and steak bulgogi in his hand. San runs up to his brother hugging him super tight happier to see that he finally made it home. “Guys this is my brother Jinhyuk. Jinhyuk this is Chris, Angela, and Y/N.”
Jinhyuk smiles at everyone greeting everyone. “So what’s been going on with you guys? I know you have been stuck in school together, but what have you guys been doing outside of school?” Angela started by saying “Well so far me and Chris have been seeing each other every day. We always go to the park or the carnival when we get the chance for dates. We have also been hanging out with these two right here.”
Chris joined in saying “Exactly right. You can say we’re like the Scooby-Doo gang of course without scooby.” San laughs adding on “No way you’re definitely Scooby. Angela is Velma, I’m Freddy, and Y/N is Daphne.” Everyone at the table laughed as they enjoyed San’s ramen catching up with each other.
Jinhyuk elbows you as he chats with you in the kitchen. “Hey, I noticed that you were sitting there staring at my brother. What’s going on with you two.” Your eyes flashed wide open as you were surprised by Jinhyk’s sudden question. You faced him scratching the back of your head not knowing how to answer his question. “Well, I honestly don’t know. I think he just likes teasing me. One minute he flirts with me, the next minute he treats me like one of the guys. My mom also doesn’t want me getting distracted so I’m trying to keep my distance.”
Jinhyuk laughs and then pets your head. “Well, you both already failed at keeping your distance. I think he likes you, but since you keep running away or avoiding him too much, he feels like he’s making you uncomfortable and that you strictly want to stay as friends. I wouldn’t give him the wrong idea to be upfront about how you feel about him. You got this kid.” He grabs your empty bowl for you and washes the dishes giving you that boost of confidence. “You know what you're right. Mama didn’t raise no punk. I’ll tell him after we finish studying. Thanks, Jinhyuk I owe you the next time you visit.” You give him a thumbs up and skip happily out the kitchen looking forward to seeing your friends.
Tumblr media
After hours of studying flashcards, everyone finally studied feeling confident in themselves about the final test of the semester. Everyone packed their things and was ready to head home since their parents were outside. You were the only one that still felt confident about your process throughout the class so you’ve decided to stay an extra hour to study with San.
“Are you sure this is right?” You put the pencil down crossing your fingers as San checks your work. “Wow yes, that is correct. See you’re doing just fine. You only got 7 wrong out of the 40 questions. Just keep using that method I taught you and you’ll be just fine.” San smiles at you pinching your cheeks. “It’s 10:30 pm. Your mom is going to be worried about you. You should start heading home. I'll drop you off.” San started putting his notebook and laptop back on his desk getting ready to leave his room, but you pull on his sleeve bringing him back down on the couch with you.
“Wait, um why don’t we watch a movie or something. My mom is out with Mr. Harris anyways they won’t be back until the morning. I kind of told her I was spending the night at my cousin’s house.”
San smiles, shaking his head gulping, sitting back down next to you. “That sounds nice and all, but I don’t want to get you in trouble. Plus you do realize you’re staying over at a boy’s house at night.” You lean your head on his shoulder holding his hand yawning. “I know I trust you. You wouldn’t do anything unless I told you I wanted to. Just for tonight please San?” San sighs, lifting your chin patting the back of your head. “Fine, but next time let me meet your mom. I want to know everything there is about you okay?” You nod linking pinkies with him. “Deal. Now let’s watch Money Heist Shall we?”
The next morning you wake up in San’s arms as you share a blanket on the living room couch. You woke up fixing his messy black hair struck by his sleeping face. “Gosh you're even more dreamy when you're sleeping.” You checked the time on your phone and realized what time it was.
Pre-cal normally starts around 10, it was 11:20. “San gets up, we're late for class! We can’t miss this one Mr. Harris is giving us get extra credit today.” San woke right up alert as he wiped the drool from the side of his mouth.
“Dang, we gotta go. Here brush your teeth real fast, brush your hair and let’s roll.”
The two of you got ready as fast you could and hopped right on his motorcycle speeding through the traffic throughout the city.
You wrapped your arms around San the whole time scared you’ll fall on the motorcycle. San felt so happy whenever you depended on him for anything. “God I love this girl. I know they say I’m too young or going too fast, but I can’t help it.” He mumbled under his breath as he arrived at the school.
“Well well if it isn’t San and Y/N. You better be lucky you didn’t miss the test. We just got done playing Kahoot.” The two of you poured with your heads looking down feeling ashamed as you walked to your seats. The two of you took one last glimpse of each before Mr. Harris handed out the test.
This was it after everything you’ve been through this past month with San and your friends. The hard work was going to determine if you actually made it through or not. Mr. Harris gave you a whisper of encouragement you never heard in a long time except for your dad. “Y/N no matter what happens I’ll always be proud of you. Finish this strong.”
Mr. Harris' words almost moved you to tears as you smiled and nodded your head right back at him. Now you understand why Maria loved him so much he was always passionate about teaching and cared about your well-being.
You grabbed your pencil and your laptop as you started getting to work. The whole time you were nervous and a few questions caused you to slip up, but in the end, you remembered how to do most of the work. San seemed to be holding up just fine so you weren’t too worried about him, Angela would always double-check her work before turning it in and Chris was surprisingly focused the whole time.
As everyone finished their tests Mr. Harris checked everyone’s grades one by one slowly seeing their process.
He stands up taking off his glasses and says. “Class...congratulations on becoming seniors! Everyone has passed summer school. See you in the fall.”
Everyone screamed cheering as the paper was flying and everyone in the classroom cheered. “Yeah, you guys hang out at the carnival!” Chris screamed and everyone followed him out.
Before catching up with everyone you called your stepmom to tell her the good news with Mr. Harris next to you.
“Mom, I finally passed. Dad’s face right now you know he’s probably crying. It was all thanks to Mr. Harris too, he's the best teacher ever.”
You can hear your mom’s voice on the other end as she gets teary-eyed. “Your dad would definitely be so happy that you passed, but also pissed because he never wants you in summer school ever again.” The three of you laugh together as you share the happy news.
“I’m so sorry I doubted you and was super harsh y/n. I love you and just want you to succeed. Your my only banana muffin I got in this world so don’t pull off any dumb crap like this ever again.”
“Yes mom, you know I will. I made a promise to dad after all. I will graduate and stay close to you if it’s the last thing I do. Love you, I'm going to the carnival with my friends.”
Maria makes kissy noises back and says “I love you too. Don’t stay out too late. Matter of fact I’ll meet you there since me and Harris have a date anyways. See you there.” You hang up feeling emotional as you hug Mr. Harris.
Mr. Harris pats you on the back saying “Didn’t I tell you she’s very proud. Now I think you need to catch up with your friends before he leaves without you. I’ll meet you at the carnival.” Mr. Harris leaves the classroom giving you one last smile and heading out.
Tumblr media
You walked in the hallway looking all around the school for San, luckily you found him in the science lab where he’s sitting by the window with a sad look on his face.
“San. We’ve gotta meet up with everyone at the carnival. Why are you here by yourself?”
San sighs, crossing his arms.
“There’s no point in celebrating. I tried reaching out to both of my parents to tell them about one of the biggest accomplishments in my life and as usual, they didn’t answer.” You sat right next to him at the window petting his head. “You know what, how dare they? Forget them.
You have a supportive big brother, an amazing group of friends, and the best teacher a school could ever ask for. You have a family right here and we’re proud of you.”
San lifts his head up as he sees your bright smile that always makes him helpless.
“You always know exactly what to say. What would I do without you?”
He links pinkies with you. “I really can’t wait for you to meet my stepmom. She gets on my nerves sometimes and we always tend to bump heads, but we always come right back together. Dad would’ve also loved you. He was always straight to the point and never held back. I loved that confidence he always had.”
“Oh yeah he did get into that accident last year, I’m so sorry about that.”
You shake your head “It’s alright, I’m still holding up just fine. I’m just happy to have you here with me plus I get to be seniors with you and everyone else.” San looks up at you one last time slowly leaning his face close to yours until your noses touch.
“Gosh, I wonder what would happen if I made out with Y/N in the science lab? The janitor would for sure catch us in the act.” You giggle flirting with him back.
“The only thing he would have to worry about cleaning up is the kiss marks that are going to be on your neck.”
“Wow, I didn’t know you were this playful. I love seeing this side of you.”
The two of you finally exchange a short yet sweet kiss in the orange sunset peeking against the window. It was going to last longer until Angela and Chris crashed the party with a loud knock on the door.
“Hurry up Freddy and Daphne the Scooby gang has to pull up at the carnival together. You guys can finish eating each other's faces off in the car. We can’t miss the flight of fear!”
The two of you looked at each other shrugging and walked together hand in hand out the classroom. “Well, I guess we will have to finish this on the carousel.” “Indeed, that sounds more romantic than making out while being surrounded by jars of disinfected frogs in the science lab.”
The two of you catch up with the rest of the seniors of class 2021 as you look forward to your last summer as juniors together. Today was going to be the day where you go all out and live like you're gonna die young.

The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprize-PART I(Naruto Uzumaki x Reader)
Tumblr media
Word count: 1,682
Pairings: Naruto Uzumaki x Fem! Reader
Warnings: Fluff, abuse, slight smut, slight violence, pregnancy
Summary: Reader has lived in Konoha her whole life, despite the fact that her parents despise ninjas. She’s led to believe the same, until she meets a certain shinobi who catches her eye...and holds her heart. When she ends up pregnant with his baby, her parents decide to send her away when they find out she’s been seeing a ninja...
A/N: This a new series! It may have one or two more parts, but it could have more if it becomes popular! This is inspired by the song The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprize by DEVO, which the lyrics always reminded me of a man singing about his pregnant lover who gets sent away but she gets better enough to send him a letter to tell him she’s doing fine...
Your whole life, you’ve been taught to see shinobi as the worst people possible. Your parents told you that they were the kinds of people who brought violence and war upon themselves and others. They weren’t there to defend the weak or fight for justice; they were there to fight people and become cruel assassins and hurt people. They wouldn’t be able to help you in a situation, they would leave you there to die.
For years, you believed your parents. You would see shinobi and think about how unlucky and cruel they were. How they would only bring misfortune and death with them everywhere they went.
Then, you met someone. A shinobi. He changed your opinion on shinobi forever.
It was just a fleeting crush at first, but as it grew, you found yourself wanting to train and become a kunoichi. You wanted to have the strength and defend others.
Yet, you still had to hide all of this from your parents. It was very tough to do something like this, seeing as even after everything happened in the village and how most of the fighting between the villages seemed to calm down, your parents still couldn’t trust any ninja. They didn’t see the way they truly were. They still saw the old ways.
Your mother, a dressmaker, was way too preoccupied with keeping up with the Jones’ to even think about sending you to the academy when you were a child. She would have died of embarrassment if you had shown any kind of interest in fighting or using genjutsu.
Your father, the one who owned the dress shop and who came from money, would have told you otherwise if you even dared show interest in ninjutsu or fighting. He would have argued and told you that it was wrong and you would just be cursing the family for generations to come.
But when you met Naruto, everything changed.
You met him at Ichiraku ramen. It was one of your favourite places to go, but you did your best to go there alone when it wasn’t very populated. You knew it was a popular spot for ninjas, so you didn’t want to go when they were frequenting it. You were embarrassed that your parents had these thoughts and you didn’t want to be known as the daughter of the people who hated ninjas in a village full of ninjas.
But Naruto was so different. He was warm, friendly and very cute. You could get lost in his eyes for hours, just listening to him go on and on about his training. He was so charming, you couldn’t help but start to fall in love with him.
Your first kiss was under a tree in the forest, very far away from your home. Naruto knew about your parents, but he still wanted to show you how ninjas were good people. He loved you and didn’t want to let you go.
You and Naruto fell for each other very fast. It was so quick and so passionate. You had to meet up at odd times of the day in very secluded places, but you’d never trade these dates for anything. Naruto would show you different fighting techniques and would try to train you as best as he could, although you didn’t even know the first thing about being a ninja.
Naruto was a bit of a hothead, but he had so much patience for you. He would praise you to no end, and would always be very supportive. Most of your time would be spent either training, or it would be spent making out and enjoying your short time together. You barely had enough time to do both things. Oftentimes, you would have to run home in the middle of a training session without giving him a single kiss. It was getting harder and harder to meet up, but you couldn’t stop. Your heart wouldn’t let you give up on Naruto…
The days would go by in a blur. You’d spend most of your time with Naruto when your parents didn’t think too much of it. They would ask you from time to time what you were doing at the odd times of the night, but you would just tell them you were going for walks to clear your head. They bought every excuse you gave them, not thinking you would ever dare fraternize with a ninja.
Little did they know, you were head over heels in love with Naruto. You often fantasized about telling your parents that you were going to marry him and that he was going to be there for you forever and that they would have to just deal with it. It was becoming increasingly difficult to hide it from them, but you didn’t care if you got caught anymore.
One night, you snuck out of your room and made your way towards Naruto’s place. You had been planning this outing for a little while, and you knew it had to go perfectly. You were going to show Naruto exactly how much he meant to you, and there was only one way to truly show him that.
Naruto was very surprised when he saw you at the door. He was half-asleep but very happy to invite you in. You were dressed up in one of the dresses your mother made for you, which made you feel a little guilty about the whole situation.
“What are you doing here this late, y/n? Not that I’m unhappy to see you, because I’m very happily surprised, dattebayo!” Naruto asked.
“I needed to see you. I love you Naruto, and I’m tired of having to hide this from everyone,” you pushed him up against the wall and kissed him heatedly. Naruto chuckled nervously when you pulled away.
“I love you too, y/n.” he looked deeply into your eyes, seeing the love and understanding exactly what was happening.
He was gentle and loving while he undressed you, watching your body as you climbed onto his bed and gave him a sultry pout. Naruto put your pleasure first as he made love to you, making sure you wouldn’t cry or feel discomfort. You loved him and kissed him and as the night ended, you found yourself falling asleep in his arms.
The next day, you felt different. You didn’t care about your parents finding out, yet you couldn’t help but think about how it would hurt them to find out that you were with a shinobi. So you tiptoed out of Naruto’s place and you decided you would give it some time before you saw him again…
Until you found out your period was late. You were cursing yourself in the bathroom, hoping your parents wouldn’t hear you crying and swearing. You needed to go see a doctor without arousing your parents' suspicion.
Unfortunately for you, one of your mother’s friends saw you at the doctor’s office. She couldn’t help herself and stuck her nose in your business, spying on you as you sat on the exam table. Tears streamed down your cheeks as the doctor told you the news…
You were a month pregnant, incidentally, that was the amount of time you had spent away from Naruto. There was no question about it, Naruto had gotten you pregnant. That night had been filled with so much love and passion that you both had forgotten to protect against this kind of situation. You wanted to do something about it, but the doctor told you to wait on it and talk to the father before making any rash decisions.
Even worse was the fact that your parents had been told by their friend about what they witnessed at the doctor’s office. Your father was furious but your mother couldn’t stop crying. It wasn’t like you were a child anymore, but you weren’t in any position to raise a child on your own.
“Who is the father?” your mother asked through her tears.
You didn’t want to say. You feared that they would take you away from Naruto, or even worse, that your father would pay someone to hunt him down or something along those lines. Your father was yelling at you, but you didn’t tell them who it was.
“It was probably those scum of the earth shinobi! Were you raped and this is why you won’t say who the father is? Is it because you don’t know who it is?” Your father barked, and your mother howled at the idea of you being raped.
“I wasn’t raped! Shinobi aren’t bad people, dad. They are good people, just like anybody else. They’ve got their faults, but…” you barely could finish what you were saying before your father slapped you across the face.
“I knew she was sneaking off to see a ninja. This wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t have been so lenient with her!” Your father yelled at your mother, but she didn’t want to hear this.
The next few days were filled with your parents making arrangements to send you away. They had heard from a friend of a friend that in the Hidden Sand Village, there was a woman who would take care of your little problem. She could make everything better.
In the dark of the night, they sent you off with two escorts. You could barely understand why you were letting this happen, yet you were so weak. You felt like you didn’t have any more fight left in you. If only you had trained more with Naruto, you could have defended yourself against your father.
But now, you were being shipped off to someone in the Sand Village. You didn’t even know how this was legal. Leave it to your parents to find a way to send you away and to just sweep all these problems under the rug.
Your heart ached for Naruto. You didn’t want to stay away from him for a whole month, and now you wouldn’t even be able to tell him that you loved him...or that you were carrying his baby.

This is my favourite part so far. This will most likely be the last part for a while till I decide where these two are headed.
Warnings: Swearing, dinner party from hell with a huge ugly fight with Emily, if you haven’t watched the new series I’ am sorry if you don’t know who Erin is, talks of Galindo’s yellow rain coat, Galindo handling ‘business’ and of course Bishop smut.

It had been the four of you since elementary school, even though Erin was younger then you all, you were all joint at the hip till you weren’t. College had been an eye opener for you all, but once back in Santo Padre after you all graduated, everything started to slowly change. Emily got mixed up with Miguel, Erin never came back and you and Rosa were living your best life partying, and working hard to get somewhere in a small town. Although there was one of you missing, you, Emily and Rosa were extremely close, even with Miguel. You were Emily’s maid of honour and godmother to Christobal and Rosa was a bridesmaid and loving aunty to your ‘best friends’ baby.
You had always known what Miguel was, what his family was into, but because you never seen that side of him or his parents you pushed it all away. To you and Rosa, Miguel was your best friend's amazing husband who treated you both extremely well, like the sisters he never had. That was until one day when you were out with Emily, and she was pissed at Miguel for this reason or that, and she made her driver drive you both to the dress factory.
Once you had pulled up Emily told you to wait in the car while she ran in, and her phone started ringing over and over. You grabbed her phone from her bag jumping out and jogging into the factory to find her. She had just got to a door opening it and you speed towards her, just as she stepped in the door way freezing you came up behind her looking into the room seeing Miguel in his yellow rain coat tipping hot oil onto another man while Nestor stood there watching. Miguel yelled at you both to get out and once Emily dropped you home you stopped all contact. Seeing that made everything too real about what you had heard.
Emily tried to mend things but it ended in a big blow up and you hadn’t spoken since. That was until Erin reached out to you and Rosa that she was in town and wanted to see you both. Rosa begged you to say yes after Erin sent a message to you both inviting you both and Bishop for dinner at the Galindo house and she hoped you could both make it.
Bishop had known all about this history and he had told you he would come if you wanted to go or stay home with you if you didn’t. You didn’t know what to do, Bishop’s emotions were running high and you knew deep down agreeing to go wouldn’t end well. You knew that the Mayans and Miguel had business deals so there was a connection. You and Emily had unfinished business, you couldn’t look at Miguel the same way again, you were taking your biker boyfriend to the cartel boss’s house for a dinner party, but you missed Erin. So you took a deep breath agreeing to go and the night was finally here.
You heard his bike pull up just as you done up the button on your grey jeans and you tucked in your black shirt and walking to slide on some black slides, grabbing your black leather jacket off the end on the bed and walking out to answer the door. You swung the door open just as Bishop was about to knock. A grin spread across his face, his eyes running all over your body as he stepped forward hooking an arm around your waist and yours wrapping around his neck as your lips met kissing deeply,
“Don’t know how I feel about you looking this beautiful to go to Galindo’s” Bishop's hand slid down to cup your ass cheek through your jeans, giving it a slight spank.
“Don’t know how I feel about you looking so handsome for a cartel dinner” you shot back your hands running over the shoulders of his black button down.
“You two ready?” Rosa came up behind you wrapping her arms around you both and she rested her chin on your shoulder. Bishop kissed her on the cheek and you sighed.
“Guess so”
Bishop held your hand on the drive over. He kept one hand on the steering wheel and you clung to one hand tight with both of yours. You finally arrived at the sliding gates and got buzzed in, driving up the long drive way till you got to the house. Bishop lifting your hands to his mouth and kissing the back of it while Rosa got out of the car,
“It will be ok baby. Whenever you want to go we will go”
You nodded taking a deep breath and lent over pecking Bishops lips a few times before you got out of the car walking towards the front door that Rosa was knocking on. Everyone had greeted you like you had just seen them yesterday, even Erin who squealed before jumping on you and Nestor who was over the moon to see you. You had a quick chat and cuddle with Christobal before he went to bed and Miguel had even invited Nestor and Marcus to stay for the night to join you all.
The night had mostly gone smoothly. Bishop was always by your side. If he wasn’t holding your hand, it was around you or on your thigh. Miguel had pulled you aside apologising for that day in the warehouse and you both clearing the air,
“Y/N, I’ am sorry. I never wanted either of you to see that. See that side of me.”
“It just made it all real you know. You were my best friend’s husband, one of my closest friends, not a cartel boss. I had heard the rumours, it just made it all real after that. And Nestor” you rolled your eyes “He was just the boy next door, not your right hand man.”
Miguel pulled you towards him wrapping you in his arms,
“I’am still that person. You know I never mixed both worlds, it was bad timing and I never should have yelled at you like that” Miguel kissed your cheek and pulled back, both his hands moving to your shoulders, “But you and Em, you need to talk it out.”
You went back and sat down next to Bishop on the couch, the conversation following nicely between you all, just like old times. The men laughed at old stories Erin told about you all and Miguel pulled out the cigar box handing them out,
“We need some girl time” Erin jumped up.
You all followed getting up, walking out to sit on the couches just outside the door. You all got comfortable sitting back to relax with full glasses of wine.
“So glad you guys could make it. I’ve missed this” Erin reached over grabbing your hand and blew air kisses to Rosa “But I should have come back sooner” Erin squeezed your hand letting go and looking over at Emily “You two need to fix whatever this is” she looked between you both.
“Oh you haven’t changed have you, straight to the point hey Erin” you scoffed taking a sip of wine.
“It’s the best way to be Y/N”
“Erin, not tonight” Rosa shot at her.
“No, it should be tonight” Emily piped up.
“Here we go” you sighed your eyes locking with Emily’s.
“You have made up with Miguel and you see Ez all the time and your acting like this with me” Emily sat up off the couch “All this bullshit after that day in the warehouse”
“You know full well it’s not just about that” you snapped back.
“So that’s only part of it?” Emily opened her eyes wide at you.
“Rosa” Erin stood up and started to walk inside, Rosa following.
“You know it’s only part of it. Don’t act dumb Emily you remember that phone call"
“I do. And you're nothing but a hypocrite” She almost screeched.
Miguel, Bishop, Marcus and Nestor’s heads shot up when they heard Emily raise her voice and seen Rosa and Erin walk back in,
“What’s going on?” Bishop stood up and went to walk out to you, Rosa grabbed his arm and stopped him.
“They need this, let them get it out” Rosa looked up at him.
“How am I a hypocrite?” You spat back.
“Huh. Now look who’s acting dumb. You tore into me about being with Miguel, how I didn’t belong in this world, look what world you’re involved in? You think it’s better than mine?” She raised an eye brow at you.
“I’ am not sitting at home being a Galindo house maker while my husband is out pouring hot oil on people, Emily”
“No you just wear leather and ride on the back of Harleys like some old lady”
“Fuck you” you snarled.
“No Y/N, Fuck you”
“You gave everything up for Ez and then for Miguel. You think a big house, nice cars and drivers make you special? You don’t belong in this world.”
“And you think you belong in that world? Saving people by day and fucking a motor cycle club president that smuggles drugs by night. It will never work Y/N get out now, you think you’re the only one? You think he will marry you? Become a family man for you to please your Daddy, or do you call him Daddy too? Think he will give everything up for you? Wake up from your day dream Y/N, you were always the logical one. You’re just another girl that jumped on the back of his bike”
“You going to bring my dad into this?” you balled your hands into fists “After everything he did for you and you be disrespectful like that?”
“I’ am sorry- I shouldn’t”
“No you shouldn’t have. This was a mistake” you slammed your wine glass down on the table and stood up storming into the living area, grabbing your leather jacket off the back of the couch and bolting to the front door. Rosa quickly kissed everyone goodnight and thanked Miguel for having you’s and Bishop shook hands kissing Erin and followed you out the door.
The ride home was silent, Bishop’s hand on your thigh the whole way to Angel’s to drop off Rosa. Rosa kissed you on the cheek, said sorry for making you go and she would see you tomorrow before she got out of the car to walk to Angel’s front door.
Bishop backed out of the drive and you were back home in no time. You jumped out of the car unlocking the door and rushing into the kitchen pulling out a bottle of vodka and a glass. You poured some in and shot it back and went to pour another when Bishop came up behind you leaning against your back, his hands coming to rest on the counter either side of you,
“I heard everything. What pissed you off more?” Bishop's lips landed on your clothed shoulder.
“That she put doubt in my head” You put the lid back on the bottle of vodka pushing it away.
“Doubts about us?” you nodded back “You didn’t have any before?”
“Surprisingly no. But she always knew how to start a fire” you muttered.
Bishop’s hands went to your hips turning you around to face him. His face soft,
“You are the only one. You’re not just another leather wearing old lady that jumped on the back of my bike, you know that, you’re my girl and I love you. Not just anyone rides behind me” you nodded “Your Dad is a good man and I respect him and your Mum. They both know how I feel about you and what I want from this” You looked up into Bishop’s eyes shocked at hearing that “I can’t and I won’t promise that I will give up everything, but you will always be more important and my number one priority.” Your eyes filled with tears and you smiled, yours hands coming up to cup his cheeks, his beard on your hands making you shiver “This isn’t a day dream baby and don’t let Emily fucking Galindo put that shit in your head”
“Ok” you smiled “I love you Obispo” Bishop chuckled, his hands sliding down to the backs on your thighs lifting you up, your legs going around his waist and you giggled kissing down his neck as he walked you both into the bedroom,
“Obispo now is it?”
You smiled into his skin, kissing up to his ear and nipping his ear lobe, your lips at his ear,
“Would you prefer Señor Losa?” you purred.
A growl rattled through his chest as he dropped you down on the bed and started to undress you,
“Only when you’re on your knees baby, but that’s not what I have planned for tonight” Bishop purred pulling your jeans and panties down and off after he took off your slides “Shirt and bra off”
You sat up doing as he asked while he undressed himself. His hard cock springing free as he pushed down his boxers and jeans kicking them out of the way,
“On your belly, baby”
You laid back down rolling over and you felt Bishop's hands running up the inside of your thighs pushing them apart before you felt the bed sink and he settled between them. You then felt one hand run up your lower back while the other slid down to run along your centre and you moaned loud biting your bottom lip, Bishops rough warm finger tips brushing over your clit,
“Your IUD ready to go?” Bishop lent down kissing your back, his beard brushing over your soft back skin.
“Yes” you whimpered.
Bishop’s hands came straight to your hips lifting them up so you were on your knees and you moved to lean on your elbows. Bishop pushed his hips forward, his hard cock running along your opening and you pushed back into him. Up until now Bishop had always worn protection, but after you both had a check-up, after you suggested that you get an IUD, finally being at that point in your relationship.
Bishop pulled back for a moment and then you felt him starting to slide into you, your moans and his grunts filled the room as your hot drenched core wrapped around him. Bishop bucked his hips forward bottoming out while he ran a hand up your back into your hair balling it into a fist as he started to pound into you hard and fast. You knew it wouldn’t be long till you were both falling over the edge so you started to push back into him just as hard. Your body catching on fire.
Bishop could feel your inner walls fluttering around him. His hand that was still tangled in your hair pulled you up fast, your back flush with his chest. Bishop moved his hand out of your hair and ran it down to rest around your throat with no pressure, the other running down over the side of your body running along your soft tummy and down to your needy pearl, his thumb connecting with it circling it, still thrusting up into you and his lips kissing along your shoulder,
“You're my girl. I love you baby” Bishop grunted into your ear.
“I love you too” You moaned out.
The sensation of his hand on your throat, his beard and lips on your shoulder, thrusting up into you and his fingers playing with you was enough for you to gasp for air as your release hurtled through you so fast your whole body trembled with pleasure, Bishop’s name and loud groans leaving your lips.
Bishop’s hand moved away from your throat coming to the middle of your back pushing you down on your chest, chasing his own orgasm, his hands then moving to your hips to slam you back into him. With a loud roar and the grip on your hips bruising, Bishop stilled and you felt him cum deep inside you, his seed spilling into you. Your name chanting from his mouth. You stayed like that for a moment, before Bishop pulled out and you both collapsed on the bed in a sweaty, heavy breathing tangle of limbs. The room was silent for a long while, you both snuggled into each other when Bishop started to kiss along your shoulder again,
“Did you ever think you would ever be on the back of a boyfriend's Harley?”
You snorted with a giggle “Never in a million years. But there is no one’s Harley I would rather be on the back of than yours”
Bishop let out a laugh, his hand coming to your face pulling it towards him, his lips meeting yours kissing you deeply,
“Promise me baby, no more doubts”
“Promise”
“You know you can talk to me whenever you need to about anything. I love you baby”
“Love you too Señor Losa”
