Taiyuu Writing Scene
Okay basically one of the people from the Taiyuu server randomly decided to give everyone a kinda-sorta writing prompt for a scene from our character’s childhood, so that’s what this is.
Yukino smiled at her grandfather. "Gong'gong, Gong'gong! Guess what!" she shouted, bouncing by his knees. He was visiting her family and she had big news for him!
"Yukino, give your grandfather some space," her mother said.
The dragon-man gave his daughter a chuckle, then smiled fondly at the small four-(and a half!)-year-old. Other people might have found the sight a little intimidating, but to Yukino it was nothing but reassuring. He got down on all fours so she could talk to him easier, accidentally scratching the floor a little with his claws. "What is it, A'hua?" he asked, his dragony face right in front of her only slightly dragony face.
"I wanna be a hero when I grow up!" she grinned, revealing teeth just as sharp as her grandfather's.
Ju'jiao sighed, a low, rumbling sound that reminded all who listened just how much his Quirk, Dragonborn, divorced him from humanity. His face fell, but only for a moment before he forced back his smile. "A'hua, if that is what you want to do, I am so proud of you," he said in Chinese. He lightly headbutted Yukino, making her giggle as she staggered back a little. "But... please assure me. You realize that... heroism isn't the safest work, right? My Quirk encases my body in armor that cannot be penetrated by normal means, and yet still there are times when I find myself in danger."
Yukino nuzzled her grandfather's head, purring like a cat from the warmth that he gave off. Ju'jiao purred in return, a much deeper sound that made Yukino feel vibrations. "I know it can be dangerous," she replied, also in Chinese. "But I'll be careful! I'll be the coolest hero ever, too!" She giggled and patted Ju'jiao on the head. "I'll even be cooler than you!"
Ju'jiao chuckled. "I love you, A'hui, but you have a long way to go before you'll be even half as cool as your old man. I am a dragon, after all!"
Yukino grinned. "Then I'll work my butt off!"
Ju'jiao wiggled out of Yukino's grasp. "Then I'll help you!" he declared, in lightly-accented Japanese this time. "I may not have the best fighting advice for you, but I know someone who might!"
"I want to help as well," Yukino's mother offered, crouching down to hug her. "If this is the path you've chosen, then I'll teach you how to freeze things, with both my experience with my Quirk and my own knowledge."
Yukino's father grinned. "And I may not have the best range, but I'll help you out with your telekinesis as best as I can!"
"And I'll become a hero, too!" Ryuji shouted, then hugged her too. "I'll beat up all the bad guys before they can even lay a finger on you!"
Yukino laughed with a grin. A small tear of joy rolled down her cheek. It froze when it hit the ground.

a slightly different flavor of persona found family is one where Akira gets adopted by a ton of law-related people and somehow still becomes a criminal (except no one is that surprised)
-Akira is in an abusive household in Inaba
-He gets found by Yu who, being Yu, immediately decides to adopt him as his little brother
-One day, Akira freaks out and runs into an alleyway to cry; Yu finds him and calls his dad
-It’s Tatsuya
-Basically, Yu lived “with” his neglectful asshole parents for a long time, but he was found by Tatsuya who started slowly taking him under his wing. Tatsuya and his husband, Jun, wanted to help Yu who was 13 at the time, but his parents were too powerful for them to do anything, so they just adopted him unofficially. After the murders, Yu moved in with Dojima and Tatsujun started living in Inaba as well to support him. Yu is now an adult who loves his dads a lot and just so happens to be a detective whose partner is The Shirogane Naoto. All of the EP gang are involved in the Tatsujun households’ lives.
-They try to get him out of the house
-Its a bit rocky but after a while they get him out; Tatsujun offer to take Akira in
-thats when the Problems start
-the government seems determined to not let Akira live with them. just a lot of bs surrounding custody because tatsujun is gay. Tatsuya is denied custody because he has ptsd and Katsuya flips his shit
-Anyway after a very long time and a lot of juggling they get Akira who is just a BIT salty (and in the sole custody of Jun)
-And only gets more salty as he realizes how badly a good portion of his family were screwed over by the system
-Anyway life is good. Tatsujun love their kid, the Dojimas practically live with them, Katsuya always brings over sweets on Sunday, Ulala taught him how to throw a mean right hook, Maya is no longer allowed anywhere near a car, Yukino has been committing tax evasion for the last 3 years, Eikichi got stuck on the roof once, he honestly has no idea who Baofu is other than the fact that he gives the weirdest life advice ever but he keeps showing up to family events and is welcomed with open arms and at this point he’s way too afraid to ask, Lisa once drank two gallons of apple juice, the IT keep showing up inside his house and he still doesn’t know how they get there but they refuse to leave,
-After a while he learns about the not-so-legal things his family is prone to doing
-Even Katsuya has done many very much not legal things even if he’s embarrassed about it
-Grandpa Suou finds that hilarious
-Anyway he’s surrounded by law enforcers who break the law a lot for the sake of the greater good and yeah that's a huge influence (they still give him space to make his own morals tho)
-so basically just persona 5 but with a much saltier Akira with a huge support system and who knows the law inside and out
-I’m pretty sure he ends up getting Akechi to redeem himself by talking to him about his family and how they slipped through the cracks only to crawl right on back
-And also talking about how his older sibling is the original Detective Prince, no big deal, hey did you know they once purposefully got kidnapped?

KareKano 15-16
Tumblr media
The first half of episode 15 is part of the recap episode that covers the stuff with Tsubasa’s family. The latter half is back to the current story. We also get to see a bit of Asaba’s backstory here, too!
Episode 16 on the other hand shows us the backstory of Yukino’s parents.
Tumblr media
Yukino is on the phone with Arima as she tells him of the things he missed while he's away. Arima seems to feel kind of sad that Tsubasa now has an actual brother lol. After that, Arima talked about how things are in Nagano and how he wishes Yukino could come and see the place, too.
Tumblr media
Asaba visits the Miyazawa residence! Yukino's sisters (and pet dog) are all excited to see him which pisses off their dad. Yukino's dad yells at him cause he doesn't know who Asaba is. Soon, Yukino and her mom comes out to see Asaba as well and Asaba didn't waste any time flirting with Yukino's mom lol. Apparently Asaba is there cause their plan to go to the pool got cancelled cause Yukino’s dad disapproved..
Yukino's dad is against his daughters being accompanied by someone as shady as Asaba. He imagines the worst things as his two youngest daughters happily hang around Asaba in the living room. Asaba doesn't mind and is happy to play along with them.
Tumblr media
The kids have fallen asleep and Yukino and Asaba are on the couch talking. Yukino asked what happened to Asaba's face and he says that after he told Arima about going to the pool with them, Arima hit him with his bag afterwards bruising his face. Asaba doesn't care as he enjoys making people feel jealous anyways.
Yukino guesses Asaba visited her house because he misses Arima and Asaba nods looking depressed. Yukino says she understands as Asaba does hang out with Arima a lot and even visits Arima's house a lot of times. She wonders what Asaba's parents think of this and Asaba says that he lives alone as he doesn't get along well with his dad.
Tumblr media
He and his dad argue all the time and his mom always sides with his dad. Asaba says that even in families, there are just people who hate each other and don't get along. It's why he studied hard to get to their current school - so he could live away from his family. Asaba says he gets the education cause his parents are paying f0r it so it's not exactly like he completely escaped them. He says he likes Yukino's family cause they're happy unlike his own and thinks Arima must've felt the same way. Asaba also says that while Arima somewhat reminds him of his dad, he got along with Arima and he thinks it did him good.
After that, Yukino wondered what Arima (a boy abandoned by his real parents) and Asaba (a boy who abandoned his parents) ever talked about. She also realized that before this, she's always thought all families got along.
Tumblr media
The  Miyazawa family are packing up as they going to visit some relatives. Arima calls later and Yukino tells him of Asaba's visit. Yukino notices something  and asks if Arima is alright and tells him that if there's any problem, he can tell her and she'd listen. Arima thanks her and said he's just tired but nothing's wrong and he probably just misses her. Also, he had a growth spurt and is a bit taller now.
Tumblr media
Due to everything she's found out about her friends and how similar they were to Arima, Yukino laid awake that night wondering how much of him he still doesn't know. She also realized that she's not as strong as she thought she was as without Arima, she feels very uncertain.
Tumblr media
The Miyazawa family is on their way to visit the kids' grandpa! On the train, Yukino's dad comments on how she's grown up to look like her mom which brought up the fact that Yukino's parents have known each other since childhood.
Yukino's mom can't help but remember the stupid and dangerous things her husband used to get into back then - stuff that she even got dragged into. The couple feel in love in high school when the mom was Yukino's age.
Tumblr media
Grandpa welcomed them all happily and let them come inside. Except the dad who he closed the door on. Yukino explains that her parents married young (the dad was 21 and the mom was 19) which was the reason her grandpa beat the crap out of her dad and why the two still doesn't get along to this day.
The grandpa adores his grandkids though and say they grew up well even when their father is like that lol. Yukino's dad grumbles at how his father-in-law still can't accept he married his daughter so the grandpa fires back by saying he doesn't earn much which made the dad blow up XD.
Tumblr media
While the dad and grandpa continue to argue and insult each other, the girls all talked about what they should have for dinner. Yukino's mom found an old photo album which she shows her kids. One of the pictures is of her as a student and they comment on how she resembled Yukino back then.
If there's one thing they can agree on, it's that Yukino's mom Miyako is cute back in the day. The dad gushes about her wife being cute back then while the grandpa gushes about how much Yukino looks like her mom and warns her to b careful of bad guys (taking an obvious jab at his son-in-law).
Tumblr media
Yukino tells her grandpa about Arima and upon seeing his photo, it seems the grandpa approves of him! Later, Yukino's mom says she's going to buy groceries and her husband volunteers to come. The grandpa smirks and says that his son-in-law should go and carry his daughter's grocery bags like a servant lol.
As Yukino's parents walked towards the store, they looked around them to see how much things have changed since they were last there. They also spot some kids playing at the playground and was reminded of their childhood.
Tumblr media
This is Yukino's dad, Hiroyuki, at age 6 - also known as mini-devil. He was known for doing stupid things like breaking stuff, fighting other kids, stealing a dog and riding it like it's a horse (on the screen says it wasn't intentional), and wrestling a cat. The fear him and they warned each other to hide their precious things.
Tumblr media
The first time he meets his future wife was at the playground. It wasn't a fun memory as he invited her and her friends to play only to tie them up and use them as hostages in their little game. The girls' crying made him untie them quickly.
Since then, he has done some pretty mean things to the girls not realizing they were bad - he thought they found it fun too and that he was being nice.
Tumblr media
One day as they were playing hide and seek, Hiro and Miyako found themselves hiding on the roof of the public toilet. The two spoke to each other and found out that Hiro doesn't have any parents while Miyako lacks a mother and Miyako points out that they're the same.
Upon coming home later, Hiro is greeted by his grandfather who he was living with. Despite the way they live and that there's only two of them, Hiro never felt lonely - it's just how life had always been for him and he loved his grandpa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fast forward a couple of years and Hiro is now in 7th grade and Miyako in 5th. Since they now go to different schools, they hardly see each other anymore.
Tumblr media
Another 2 years passed. Hiro is now in 9th grade and his male classmates are excited to see the new students as they hope there are cute girls there. Hiro says he doesn't care about that stuff. They point out Hiro is pretty popular with girls and wonders if he's ever gonna date one of them and Hiro's response is that he doesn't get that kind of thing. As he made his way towards the entrance ceremony hall, Hiro bumps into someone. As he was about to apologize, he sees the girl's face and he ended up speechless. The girl recognizes him and he realizes who the girl is. The narrator says Miyako is the first girl he thought was cute.
He later overheard the girls talking about how Miyako likes him. When graduation comes, Hiro tells Miyako that if she could, she should attend the high school he's going to.
Tumblr media
The two meet again in highschool when he's a senior and she's a freshman. The two also ride the train home together where they talked about the future and how Hiro would work instead of going to college.
Hiro comes home to his grandpa greeting him like always but he has noticed that his grandfather have gotten older and frailer which saddened him. It made Hiro want to grow up and support his grandfather.
Tumblr media
His grandfather grew weaker and eventually passed away one day. Miyako wanted to help out Hiro after the funeral as she was worried about him but he said he was fine and that she should go home. When Hiro goes out later, he sees Miyako sitting near the front gate and she said she didn't leave as she wanted to be near him.
Tumblr media
Hiro cries as he thinks of all the things he wanted to give for his grandpa that he couldn't anymore. He ended up hugging Miyako who says his grandpa was probably happy already that Hiro was born into this world.
Tumblr media
After that, the two waited until Miyako had graduated high school and got married then. They were soon blessed with children of their own and lived happily. Hiro finally understood how his grandpa must've felt. Having kids was enough and his grandfather's blood which flowed within him are passed down to his own children.
Tumblr media
The old Miyazawa house is now gone and replaced by a library as Hiro wasn't able to take care of the house on his own.
The couple goes back home later and at dinner, Miyako asks her father to come live with them. Her father refuses as he wanted to do things on his own. Despite having another argument with his in-law, Hiro is happy as he watched his entire family as he loves all of them.
--
As mentioned above, first half of 15 is recaps. They really decided to cover all of the existing epsiodes.
Anyways, episode 15 starts out pretty fun. Asaba might be a flirt but he’s nice to kids (and animals as Peropero the dog also clung to him). It was funny seeing Yukino’s dad’s reaction to his daughters being close to Asaba.
Asaba, despite always looking happy actually has something tragic going on in his life, too. His life at home and his relationship with his parents were bad enough for him to choose not to live with them anymore. He explained that things were just like that to some families. It hurt him though as the person he couldn’t stand is someone blood-related to him. This, at least, explains a bit why he got close to Arima so quickly other than his original idea of just wanting Arima as another magnet for girls.
Then there’s episode 16.
It was sweet seeing how the Miyazawa couple met and got together was cute and sweet. On the other hand, it at least gave us a glimpse of what kind of person Yukino’s dad is.
Just like Asaba, Hiro is treated as a sort of comic relief. His doting on his kids and his quirky nature is a source of joke - not in a bad way as it was still sweet how much he loves his family. His backstory having drama in it caught me off guard lol. I didn’t think I’d cry when I started watching this episode the grandpa got introduced and I was just bracing myself for what I know would be inevitable.
Hiro’s life and struggles are kind of on the relatable side. Him wanting a future where he could return and repay all of the love his grandfather gave him was nice but at the same time, knowing how badly he had wanted it and it not happening was heartbreaking. The idea that you’d lose a loved one and knowing that day is coming near is also sad. I’ve been there and it was pretty hard to watch this episode, not gonna lie. I had to stop myself from crying in front of my family who was around when I was watching lol.
Despite all of the sad stuff, the ending was sweet. Hiro married the girl he loves and had a family. He’s now able to see things in his grandfather’s perspective with him just being happy raising his children and seeing them grow. As he said, “love spreads” -  his grandpa raised him with a lot of love and he does the same now for his children. He grew up without much money but he was content just living with his grandpa and now, he’s still not rich but his family is happy.
It was kinda sad seeing the old house gone but the memories are still there and he’s not alone. Hiro smiling at watching his happy family (even his dad-in-law) was nice. Love does spread and he does care about his dad-in-law despite them not getting along.
I’m still crying while writing this!!! DX
I have to pretend there’s just something in my eyes or my family will think I’m being weird again lol.
Anyways, I wish they also showed Miyako’s side of the story. I want to know why Hiro wasn’t approved of even today lol. Hiro and his dad-in-law both seem to like Arima though so Yukino is pretty lucky. They’d probably still object to a marriage just as most dads do but at least Arima doesn’t have to worry about bad first impressions.
There’s a contrast between these two episode’s focuses. Asaba not being close to his father and how he wanted a life away from his family. Hiro who loves his grandpa and wishes they had more time together so he can give him everything Hiro thinks he deserves. Asaba finding happiness with his friends and Hiro finding happiness again with his wife and family. I wonder if they purposely placed these two episodes next to each other for this.
I don’t know what the next episode holds or who will get the spotlight this time but I’m excited. This anime is pretty good.

Sabertooth headcanons
Here we go!
History
Sabertooth was created around the same time Fairy Tail was. It was supposed to be a safe place for people that had nowhere to go after the Second Trade War. They chose the name Sabertooth in the hopes that it would make bad people think twice before starting a conflict with them.
They heavily relied on the public image they’ve created for themselves, but the truth was they wouldn’t be able to withstand a conflict with another guild or a group of bandits/mercenaries.
All they wanted was to start anew. Peace, honor, respect. Those were the things they valued. The first Sabertooth generation focused mainly on building or escorting jobs.
The guild managed to survive for many years, but it wasn’t really popular, which meant it didn’t have many members.
It wasn’t until Jiemma, an orphaned kid, joined the guild and started influencing the other members to change the way Sabertooth dealt with things. He wanted to transform this guild into a formidable force that would make people tremble with fear whenever they heard its name.
It took him a few years, but he achieved his goal. He was a charismatic young man that wouldn’t stop in the face of anything to achieve his goal.
If there was anyone Jiemma cared about, that was the old guild master. The man was nearing the end of his life, barely able to walk, but he’d showed kindness to the young man and took him in when no one else would.
Out of respect for that man, Jiemma decided to take over the guild in as peaceful a way as possible. Nevertheless, the old guild master was heartbroken by the path Jiemma had chosen to walk on and died a couple of days later.
General
Sting is really passionate about changing the ways of the guild, but he knows he has to work together with his guildmates in order to achieve that. That’s why he doesn’t really consider himself a guild master, but a team leader of sorts.
All the members take part in making the decisions that concern Sabertooth’s future. No one ever hesitates to share their opinion, even if it differs from that of their guild master.
Rogue is proud of his blond friend. He puts himself out there, makes mistakes, but learns from them and grows. Rogue was hesitant about telling him all this, but one day it just happened. Sting had never blushed harder before.
Sting has a sweet tooth. He can never get enough of Yukino’s or Minerva’s homemade sweets. His favorite is a chocolate cake with raspberries - a recipe the two girls came up with together.
Yukino is a good cook. She makes the best chocolate chip cookies her guildmates have ever tasted. Every Monday morning she brings some in a cute little basket to the guild. They get devoured in a matter of seconds.
When she was a kid, Minerva never really thought about what she wanted to do or what hobbies she’d like to have. That’s why she asked Yukino to teach her how to cook. To Minerva’s surprise, she turned out to be quite good at it. Yukino’s delighted to have a student. She even thinks about becoming a teacher at the local school, but is afraid that missions would get in the way and she’d miss classes.
Rogue and Rufus prefer spicy food. When they go on a mission together, they always try the local cuisine and the spicy dishes after they’re job is done.
Half of Rufus’ apartment is turned into an old-fashioned library. The guy loves enjoying a good book while drinking some high-quality black or green tea.
Despite seeming a bit overconfident at times, Orga is actually “the wise grandpa” of the guild. Whether he realizes it or not, his guildmates always come to him for advice.
Similar to Gajeel, he loves music and singing, so he’s very careful when it comes to what to eat and drink, especially before a performance at the local club when it’s Amateurs’ Night.
Dobengal has gone to a few of those Amateurs’ Nights, but he hasn’t gathered the courage to go up on the stage yet - and he’s a damn fine singer, much better than Orga is.
Dobengal is actually a master martial artist. He’s been training from a very young age, but rarely talks about it. He doesn’t like showing off.
The guild has a photo album in which they put pictures from special occasions - birthdays, holidays, eating competitions, pool parties, etc. It’s kept in the guild where everyone can see it and go through the pictures.
Sabertooth organizes charity events twice a year. They’ve raised money for orphanages, hospitals, animal shelters, retirement homes. They don’t like being too public about it, though. What matters to them is helping people in need, which was the purpose of this guild right from the start.
Halloween
Tumblr media
Halloween is the guild’s favorite holiday! Everyone loves dressing up!
They have a tradition of keeping their costumes a secret from the other guild members. Duplicating costumes happen every year, but no one minds.
Rogue’s favorite costume is one he made the year Sting became a guild master. It’s the same as the one Frosch usually wears, but, you know, Rogue-sized.
Rufus is the one who enjoys Halloween the most. Thanks tohis quirk and his information-gathering skills, he always chooses a costumethat’s popular and that’s not gonna go unnoticed. He takes pride in that.
Dobengal prefers wearing different ninja costumes ortraditional samurai ones. Not just that, he sewshis own costumes every year.
Minerva is really into making Halloween candy. She once madecookies in the form of a witch’s finger. Everyone else thought kids were gonnabe grossed out by them, but they were wrong. Kids were super impressed and evenstarted creating stories about how those fingers were real and only turn intocookies on Halloween.
Every year on Halloween, exactly at 10pm, all members ofSabertooth visit either the children of the local hospital or the ones from theorphanage. They give them candy and play with them for hours. They love seeingthe smiles on the kids’ faces. That makes them feel like they’re on the rightpath with Sabertooth.

If I’ve already mentioned these before, oh well I feel like rambling while stuck at work.
Vivi always wanted siblings but never got any
so she just adopts her friends and like any young kid in need of an older sibling/parental figure if she’s known them for more than like three days
sometimes less than three days
she’s been doing this since high school the line between friend and family has become really hella blurry ok
She was the creepy kid with no friends all through middle school. As a result when she hit high school there was a year or so were she tried to bury any and all “creepy” interests or powers she might have. That obviously didn’t stick and she figured out she could be “creepy” and still have friends, but it was a rough time.
Vivi parents are great people - but their parenting skills are a little wanting, mostly because their jobs keep them away from home for long periods of time. They love her dearly and want her to have the best life possible, even if that means they miss some of her life.
Vivi’s paternal grandparents are awesome and deserve the world
Grandpa Yukino is starting to forget stuff and people are really worried about him but he’s still the sweetest thing ever
Grandma Yukino is 4′8″ and could kick your ass
Vivi has absolutely no idea how to handle a crush at any point in her life
Vivi blames herself for the cave incident and for forgetting Lewis

Teardrops Are Racing Our Stopwatch Our Hope Is In A Headlock Tomorrow Always Comes Too Soon
-Seven Lions "Way To Say Goodbye"
Previously...
Phoenix lifted her head from the stone tiles, water pouring from her eyes and running down her face - her wrinkles canals of saltwater.
"Kill my summoner."
Lucy recoiled from the spirit, her feet carrying her backwards until her back collided with Ortez, and she wobbled. Warm hands steadied her shoulders, but she barely registered the contact - her eyes fixated, unblinking, on the still bowing spirit. "K-kill?" she stuttered. Her heart hammered in her rib-cage. "You want me to... to what?"
The old spirit's form shuddered with every breath she took, but she held Lucy's gaze with rock steady determination and steel behind her eyes. "I need you to kill the last person to summon me. You are the only one I can ask - there is no one else that bears the trust of the Celestial King, and the requisite power to carry the task out."
Lucy continued to stare at the spirit. She swallowed thickly, unable to string along a sentence.
Kill someone? Her? Why would a spirit ever ask this of her? Let alone a spirit she didn't even have a contract with.
Beside Phoemix, Corvus shifted uncomfortably as the stare-off went too long, sweat beading on his skin. It was clear he would rather be anywhere other than in the middle of this. "Um... Grandmother. Maybe you should... should explain the situation more," the crow spirit suggested. "And... um... maybe we should get some cushions before my new key holder keels over!" A high pitched, garbled noise of pure distress emanated from his throat. "I can't believe she pulled this right from the get go, oh stars why is this happening why are old people like this?!" he said, words tumbling out of his mouth like an unstopped spigot.
Phoenix's eyes narrowed, and her head whipped around to glare at her grandson. "Old people are what now?"
"Not meant to be sitting on the ground so long! You know, creaky joints and all." Corvus spun on his heels, striding towards a partition woven from starlight that Lucy had mistaken for another part of the scenery. "So I'll go get cushions!"
Softly, the old spirit sighed, her gaze refocusing on Lucy's petrified body. "My grandson has a point. I must apologize - that was far too abrupt, and unspeakably rude. Would you care for some tea?"
Lucy didn't move, her tongue locked away behind her tightly clenched jaw.
"Thank you for the offer," Ortez spoke in her place, the proximity of his voice startling Lucy out of her stupor. "Although I would very much enjoy the opportunity to partake of tea from the Celestial World... it seems there are more urgent matters afoot."
Withdrawing a handkerchief, Phoenix dabbed her face with the cloth. "Nonsense," she huffed. "You are guests."
Guests whom she was asking to kill someone on her behalf.
"Aside from which, I already made it," Corvus added, returning with the promised cushions. Swiftly, he positioned them, and then helped his grandmother onto one. "I'll be... right back with that. Make yourselves comfortable."
They did so, and Lucy quietly thanked Ortez. To which he merely smiled kindly, and said, "You're most welcome, my dear."
Once they were settled, and the tea sitting in steaming cups before them, Yukino was the first to break the silence. "Forgive me, Phoenix-sama. But there's something I don't quite understand. Aside from anyone wanting Lucy-sama to kill someone, I mean."
The celestial mage was grateful that Yukino felt the same as her on that part. The tension had mostly drained out of the room with Corvus's nervous rambling earlier, but it was slowly seeping back into all those present.
"Yes?"
"I was under the impression that none of the Ghost keys had been summoned for a very, very long time. So I'm not sure how Lucy even could fulfill your request."
Yukino's words brought life back to her friend. "Yeah, thanks Yukino." Lucy stared hard at the two spirits sitting before her - one calm and stern, the other flushed and fidgeting. Though he was her grandson, Corvus possessed little of Phoenix's composure at the topic of discussion. "Grandpa Crux is never wrong when it comes to the history of Celestial Spirits. He said that it had been over 75 years since Corvus was last called upon, and I trust what he told me. In which case I would have to assume that your summoner is very, very old."
Phoenix help up her sleeve to cover her mouth, but the crinkling at the corners of her eyes gave away her amusement. "Indeed. My grandson was the most recently summoned of the Ghost keys. I was last summoned... what year is it in your world, again?"
"Year X791," George offered, speaking for the first time since they'd arrived in the Celestial World. "This tea is most excellent. Might I trouble you in taking home some of the leaves?"
"Certainly. I am pleased you find it suitable to your palate."
Corvus cleared his throat, trying to nudge Phoenix back onto the prior topic.
"There is always time for pleasantries, grandson," she stated.
"This is coming from the woman who skipped them and jumped straight into ordering a hit...?" His mouth snapped shut at a pointed look from Phoenix. The second she looked away, he muttered, "I'm just saying. People normally... work... their way up to that."
He was ignored.
"If the year is X791..." Phoenix said, thinking it over. "Then I suppose it must have been around four centuries since I was last in Earthland." She took a long sip of her tea.
The group collectively stared in silence for several moments.
"...Eh?" Lucy uttered, hardly processing the revelation.
Humming, Phoenix nodded. Her eyes were unfocused - her mind far away from where they sat. "Yes... a little over four centuries. Give or take a couple of decades. I was quite the spry young thing back then. Earthland was beautiful, and vast. So much to see, and Caelestis and I were determined to see it all. He... he promised me that we would." Her gaze drifted to her tea, clasped in her wrinkled, age-worn hands, riddled with spots. "Twas not to be, I'm afraid."
Something about the way she looked at herself, in the regret and sorrow in her voice, tugged at Lucy's heartstrings. "Please," she implored. "Please tell me why you want me to do this."
"It's a long, long story," Phoenix said. "And so much happened that I... I know how differently time flows between our worlds, and there isn't much time left for this to be resolved, if it can be. So please, excuse my hastiness earlier. I won't bore you with all the details, but you do deserve to know why."
Nodding, Lucy clutched her warm teacup. "Please."
"I misspoke before, when I asked you to kill him. That's not precisely what I want."
Lucy's brow furrowed in confusion. "I don't understand."
"You see... my summoner already is dead. He has been for centuries." Phoenix closed her eyes in pain. "He was murdered, while I was out on an errand." Tears began to slide down her face once more. "My friend needed me there to protect him, and I was running an errand."
Corvus placed a hand on her shoulder. "Grandmother..."
Phoenix set the cup down, and covered his hand with one of her own. "I'm alright." She patted his hand, and let it fall to the table. Then she opened her eyes again, and stared straight through Lucy. "The issue here is who murdered him. For after our contract severed, I heard from other spirits that they'd seen Caelestis. By all appearances, hale and hearty."
Lucy's stomach dropped to her toes. "I... I don't know how to say this... But are you sure the contract was broken by death? That he didn't just... end it for some reason?" She hated the idea - of cutting off a spirit without a single word of farewell, or explanation why. It went against her very grain. But there were celestial mages out there like that. Angel and Karen had proven just how brutal celestial mages could be.
But Phoenix shook her head. "Caelestis's student, Skaldra, found blood. Too much of it for him to have survived. No... my summoner was murdered, and his body was taken away. Skaldra never stopped searching for Caelestis, and one day... he found him. Or... what remained of him." Phoenix's gaze had hardened, a cold fire in her eyes. "It seems my summoner was murdered by a necromancer." She continued on, unheedful of her audience's shock, and her tone detached - as if she were recalling a fact from a textbook, instead of recounting the defilement of her friend. "Even dead, Caelestis was too strong for his student to handle. So Skaldra fled. I couldn't even bring myself to blame the boy. He idolized Caelestis. Later, Skaldra died as well, and I lost my last link to what happened to Caelestis. I've kept my ear to the ground, however. And from what I've been able to piece together, it seems as if he's still walking around now, long past the inevitable death of the necromancer that raised him up."
"So..." Lucy choked on her words. "So when you asked me to kill your summoner..."
"I meant, 'kill him again,'" Phoenix finished softly. "Please... I just wish for him to rest in peace. Even if nothing of him remains still inside that corpse. I just want him to be laid to rest, at long last. It's my only wish in this world."
Dumbfounded by the weight of the request, Lucy couldn't help the sympathetic tears that filled her eyes. "That's so not fair," she whispered. "That's so not fair that... that happened to you. To him." She sniffed, and set her jaw in determination. "I will do it," she stated, her voice stronger from the strength of her conviction. "I will lay Caelestis to rest, and give both of you the peace you deserve."
Reaching out to her, the ancient spirit clasped Lucy's hands in hers. "Thank you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
Preoccupied, neither of the pair caught Corvus's perturbed stare, deep worry etched into every line of his body.

So, we don't know if Fairy Tail is coming to an end or not - sure seems that way, with Zeref and Acnologia seemingly the last huge hurdles to overcome. But who knows? Maybe Mashima will throw us a curveball and there'll be another arc with Ankhseram or something completely different.
Setting aside that possibility, FT is quite likely reaching its end. It's been quite a ride with lots of bumps in the road; no series is perfect. Speaking for me personally, I only started tuning in for the better part of half a year now. You can tell me all your gripes about the series, and I'll still tell you more than a few things I like about it. Even arcs like GMG.
Buuut this post isn't about that. With the series coming to a close and shippers clamoring to support their ships, I figured I'd post a little something for Natza shippers who might be feeling down about Nalu and Jerza shippers POSSIBLY  'getting their way'. Just consider this a little reminder of some of the reasons you supported Natza in the first place. Out of respect to other shippers, I'll try and tone down 'anti-nalu' and 'anti-jerza' talk, but it might still come up in a few places. Kinda unavoidable...
Tumblr media
First up, these two have history. And I don't mean 'slaves trapped constructing a cultist tower', I simply mean prior to the first chapter/episode, these two had seven years together, working and living together at Fairy Tail. That might not seem like much, since Erza became S-Class in X780 and kinda left Natsu and Gray in the dust, but they most certainly associated with one another. Igneel provided a base for Natsu's education, but Erza built up on that. Natsu couldn't read the job request flier he picked out on his own, and Erza made sure he could... Admittedly traumatizing him in the process. You want more than reluctant student and teacher? In a manga chapter we got not too long ago, we got flashbacks of Natsu, Gray, and Erza (as kids) doing stuff together; Erza breaking up fights, Erza teaching them hunting... and yes, even the times they bathed together. You might say, "Well... wait. That's not Natza!" And I'll agree. I'm simply pointing out that Natsu and Erza have history - seven years of it. It's not a case of Natsu being 'scared' of Erza for all that time; yes, he has those times where Erza intimidates him into behaving, but you know that little Pyro. He's just gotta challenge Erza and catch up to her. Erza's not someone unbeatable; she just really... really... strong. And of course Natsu admires that.
Tumblr media
So now we're to current events as the series officially begins. Admittedly, it takes a few episodes before Erza gets her debut, but she shows up, and we get our first impressions of the scarlet knight. She's a tough disciplinarian, but she knows Natsu and Gray well enough to know they're capable in their own right. Moreover, Natsu really shows determination here as he makes Erza promise to have a rematch with him after the mission. And that's how they, Lucy, and Happy wind up going on their first conquest of a Dark Guild. Ah, but Erza comes with her own quirks, just like Natsu and Gray. She totes around a HUGE pile of luggage, and to make the train ride easier on Natsu, she... knocks... him... out. Still by far one of my favorite moments of the series. I can see why some might label Natza as a brotp with this kind of scene, but our time will come.
Tumblr media
So they beat Eisenwald and Lullaby, and Natsu and Erza get their rematch. Whoo hoo. But their rematch gets broken up as the Council comes to arrest Erza for the destruction of the Guild Conference meeting hall in Clover Town (at least officially...).Of course Natsu won't let that stand, and he makes quite a scene in the courtroom as he tries to save the redhead. ... Well, instead of that slap on the wrist like they'd initially attended, the Council locks the two Fairy Tail mages in a cell for the night. Understandably, Erza is quite frustrated with Natsu's lack of perception, but nonetheless, she thanks him for standing up for her.
Tumblr media
As we'll discover throughout the series, there are lots of instances where Natsu and Erza are concerned for one another; but moreover, there are plenty of instances where they strongly believe in one another as well. And it's not just misplaced trust - they DO get the job done, such as when Natsu beats Gajeel and saves Lucy, and when Erza withstood a blast from the Jupiter Cannon for her Guild and still had the energy to take down Aria a short while later. I don't know about you, but I think that's a basis for a healthy relationship right there. Worry and trust come in fair shares; as time goes on, these two become less and less worried for one another even in the face of overwhelming odds. They know the other can handle the situation and come out on top; the worry never goes away fully, just decreases in the face of mutual respect and trust.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then we reach the epitome of our Natza ship... Nalu's worst nightmare...The Tower of Heaven Arc. I am going to try and sidestep the icky love triangle that Mashima tries to make here - I'll make it as simple as possible. This arc is where we learn about Erza's past. Why she is the way she is, why she doesn't get along with Councilman Siegrain, why she can find it hard to open up to people. Erza tries to keep her Fairy Tail family out of it, but they get dragged into it anyway. She mends bridges with her old friends, thanks to Simon; but on the flipside, Erza acts very much unlike herself here (at least from what we've seen up to this point). In this conflict, Erza is ready to throw her life away to protect both of her families. Despite being a seasoned warrior by this point, she can't summon the same strength that she did when she tried to fight Jose Porla! And she's in better shape than she was at that time! Perhaps some will argue that this is simply who Erza is - strip away her armor, and she's a traumatized little girl with a *tragic* past. Ugh. Nope, nope, nope. By no means am I arguing that Erza can't have her tender side; it'd be hard to like her character if she didn't have such a side. What I am saying is that when Erza left the Tower of Heaven, she was alone and lost when she wandered to Fairy Tail. But in that time there, she acquired a new family, recovered the strength she once had when Grandpa Rob died and she inspired the slaves to keep on fighting. In fact, you could say she surpassed that strength - she became S-Class, didn't she? Yet the moment her past comes back to haunt her, Erza horribly reverts; she goes into that fight with Jellal with a defeatist's mindset. Thankfully, Natsu is up to the task of helping Erza bury her past. He fights Jellal, who is one of the Ten Wizard Saints, who took over the management of the Tower of Heaven, and who killed the mutual friend he and Erza once shared - the guy who made it possible for Erza to reconnect with her old family, Simon. He fights Jellal knowing most if not all of this, even when Erza desperately pleads with him to abandon the fight. Natsu can't and won't abandon her, though. In the end, Natsu makes a gutsy move of eating Etherion, and that gives him the strength to beat down Mr. Wizard Saint. Say what you will about that, how the fight 'should' have gone, but I think it worked very well symbolically. Erza's past warred with her present and future, and guess which came out on top? The scarlet knight picked herself up yet again and moved on with her life, despite lingering thoughts on Jellal and Simon. We can probably agree that Natsu had similar moments of getting worked up over villains hurting other friends - Lucy (present and Future), Yukino, etc. - but for me personally, I feel like there's something fundamentally different in how those moments feel compared to the Tower of Heaven. For Lucy, Natsu saving her happens a little too often without Lucy doing the same as much for my tastes (in other words, those hero moments don't feel as deep and meaningful to me). And for Yukino... well. I think anyone would get worked up over Yukino's treatment by her Guild (especially her Master). I feel like Erza and the Tower of Heaven is different because Natsu connected with her more deeply than he ever had prior to this; he saw her pain, and wished for nothing more than to end her tears. He panicked after she sacrificed herself to stop the Tower from exploding. And in that dreamlike vision of the future brought about by Etherion, Natsu didn't believe that Erza had died. Everyone else had given up, but not him. And whose arms does she wake up in, after realizing someone had saved her from being fully absorbed by Etherion? Natsu's. He even makes her promise not to do such a suicidal move again. On Erza's side, she recognizes his growth the moment he took down Jellal, and she tried to get him out of the Tower before it exploded. After seeing how affected Natsu would have been with her death, Erza cites that, "You don't die for your friends. You live for them." It was a pretty good shippy moment right there, but then the rest of their friends find them and rejoice that they're all alive.

We can whine about it all we want, but when the Oracion Seis arc hit, that's when the Jerza ship began to get a little more wind in its sail. After all, the man that brought Erza pain in the past returned, but he had... amnesia. You gotta be sympathetic to a guy like that, right? They had such a tragic past, and now Jellal can't remember it. What a pity. ... Okay, enough bashing. But it is a bit annoying for us Natza shippers; after the high that we got from ToH, we're suddenly smashed back to earth with Jellal's return. You can say that Natsu came to forgive Jellal in this arc, but that isn't the case when you inspect the arc carefully. After all, what's the first thing Natsu does when he first hears that Wendy revived Jellal? He's intent on making sure Erza never has to see him again. Not out of jealousy - but out of sympathy for his friend. Natsu doesn't want to see her cry again, but despite this, Erza finds the blue-haired mage anyway and comes to the dissatisfying conclusion that Jellal really can't remember all of his past atrocities. Later, Jellal goes off to help Natsu fight Zero, and the Pyro tries to fight him off as well. Sure, Jellal ended up helping Natsu in the end, giving him something equally as potent as Etherion so that he may attain Dragon Force again, but that anger that Natsu holds hasn't vanished. They're tentative allies against a greater threat. And when the Rune Knights come to take Jellal and Oracion Seis away, Natsu doesn't fight for Jellal's freedom because he's a swell guy that helped take down Zero; he does it for Erza, because the redhead is conflicted about resisting the Council's authority. Despite his personal feelings about the blue-haired mage, he tries to resist for Erza's sake so that the two can resolve their past. Of course, Erza tells him and the others to stand down in the end, and the Dragon Slayer grudgingly complies. Erza goes back to angsting about her past.
I'm not gonna say my interpretation of events is the one, true way to look at the series. I AM saying this is how we Natza fans see the relationships between Natsu, Erza, Jellal, and Lucy. Some of you naysayers will argue Natsu and Erza are siblings; Jellal and Erza have such a tragic and *amazing* past together; Natsu brought Lucy to Fairy Tail and totally fell in love; you're perfectly fine with believing in any of that. Just don't shove your theories down our throats. From a Natza fan's perspective, such as mine, Natsu brings out the best in Erza; he doesn't make her think about her past every five minutes or force her to be the ever-shining beacon in their relationship. On the flipside, Erza doesn't require saving all the time; she stands alongside Natsu, and is a pillar for him when he is sad or has doubts. Natza is mutual, and I think there's something deeper there than sibling love. Heck, there are still Natza moments floating throughout the series, it's just that whenever Jellal gets involved... yeah. You can tell what Mashima is likely pushing for, just not very convincingly. It's fine if Erza becomes Jellal's redemption, but it's such a shame that a mutual, passionate relationship like Natza goes out the window in favor of giving Jellal a relationship to go with his redemption. Just look at all the various moments they have together...

So yeah! Criticize the Natza ship all you want, but you'll never stomp us out completely. Even if Mashima cedes to you Nalu and Jerza fans, we'll still have all these moments and more to look back on - canon, filler, omake, you name it. I think we have reason to be proud of our ship to the very end. We're not a brotp or a fanon couple - if Nalu can be argued to be semi-canon, when it wasn't in Mashima's original plan, then I don't see why we can't make a case for it being at least semi-canon. I've certainly reflected long and hard on it over the past half year I've been into FT. I'm still going to be bummed if Mashima follows the crowd and forces Nalu and Jerza to happen, but I won't falter in my love for this ship. I encourage other 'unpopular' ships to do the same. I certainly don't mind other ships with Natsu involved; Natza is just my OTP.

What he says: We're missing sixty-seven spirits.
What he says: Let's put to one side the fact that of the Twelve Golden Zodiac Keys, many (Capricorn, Cancer) are rarely or underwhelmingly used and others are laced with far too much comedy to take seriously (Cancer, Virgo, looking at you especially Sagittarius). Let's also put to one side that when a badass thirteenth Zodiac Spirit came onto the scene, it was promptly killed no effort at all and forgotten about. Of the remaining spirits, only Horologium has gotten any real screentime or importance--usually for saving the day at the last second, a trend that can range from anywhere to mildly convenient to immensely infuriating depending on when it happens. Here are the ones we've seen: Lyra, the Lyre, who is fittingly a musician; Crux, the Southern Cross, who sleeps a lot and is a knowledge-dealer and historian, so basically an info-dump; Caelum, the Chisel, who for some reason turns into swords, flies, shoots lasers, and all-round just feels like a Pokemon; Pyxis, the Compass, who does exactly what you'd think; Polaris/Ursa Minor, the Northern Star and the Little Bear, a powerhouse who just falls asleep; and Aquila/Deneb, the Northern Cross/the Swan, who summons a surprisingly effective emo; and Canis Minor/Nikora, who has absolutely zero functionality or character beyond looking cute. Most of these spirits have one scene, maybe two, dedicated to them before being forgotten about. It's rather annoying considering that they are a part of Lucy's repertoire and that, if we judge by Horologium and Yukino's spirits, have the capability to be rather badass. I'm not really sure why Crux is a wise old grandpa. You know what's cross-shaped and could better paint Lucy as a badass with a spirit themed after the Southern Cross? ....A sword. Yes, a freaking sword. And there's still sixty-seven more we haven't seen yet, all of which could be useful in any number of ways.
But maybe it's for the best; after all, it leaves fans with an enormous amount of wiggle room for fanworks featuring Celestial Spirits.

Hey! I’m super sorry for being so late! Considering the other asks piled up, and tumblr does blatantly no help in organizing them, I completely missed it! I hope you can forgive the unnecessary time spent waiting! Unfortunately, though, this is gonna be a long post!
Shiro: What’s the one thing you have that keeps you going on life?
Well, actually… Before, it was someone I’m very close to. I… er… Well, how do I put this? I kept going because someone became my rock. And I depended on them, a lot. But, whenever they needed me, I was as strong as ever so we both could be.
…Truth be told, they still are, but, I’ve sorta grown more, that I don’t need to rely constantly on this one person to make sure my life is going well, you know? If I answered before, I’d probably answer that person, though… I’m still clinging to hope.
Hope that maybe, things will change. Hope, that one day I’ll fall in love the way I think I was meant to be. Hope… That I’ll be the best me I can be, that everyone I know can be as happy as they deserve to be. It’s a long shot; Where does hope come from? Where does it go? But, hope’s what got me here in the first place when things were nothing but horrid and unsafe. For what it’s worth, I believe hope’s what’s gonna keep me going, so that one day, I’ll wake up, happy and falling in love with myself and someone else, and sharing me, with someone else.
I hope for a lot of things, but, I find it’s that hope that keeps me going forward, even when I don’t know sometimes where I’ll end up.
Pidge: Do you feel comfortable with who you are as you are now?
Pfft, it’s funny Pidge comes up, frankly, I enjoyed this question most!
In all honesty… I like to believe I’m getting more comfortable with myself. I… I started writing poetry, I started drawing digitally, I’ve even thinking of having Beowulf as my actual name at times, hilarious as it is… It’s… Strange, actually. Getting to know the person you are now, that is. I didn’t know my life’s purpose, nor my own identity, but now more than ever, I feel… Kinda more… “whole”, you know? I, I fell in love with someone, went through a break up, consequently the “OTP BROKE UP!!!” phase, and so on which made me rethink a lot about myself. In one sense, yes, I feel more comfortable with myself. After that breakup, I sort of, realized that really, when it came down to it;
I didn’t need to ask why my ex and I did.
I just understood that our relationship was at an end, it was time to move on, but, when you give your heart to someone, where do you go after that’s gone?
So, I took a lot more me time, I started up my love of flannel after, almost years of never seeing them again, I started reading Beowulf the first time, fell in love with the mythos and wanted really… Really badly to emulate it. I wanted to be a hero, I wanted people to remember me so much and praise me for what I do, when, most of the time, I barely even saw how far I came along the way. And, that’s how Beowulf ends (Sorry for the spoilers!), he gets too arrogant and only wants to hog the glory, and, he dies to the dragon when he’s older (35? He was still young.) and battle hardened. When I read Beowulf, that’s just when things clicked in.
Did I really want glory and fame? Or, did I just want someone to recognize me for something? And, well, since then, I started listening to myself. I wore flannel, jeans, boots, I was so… happy not to wear whatever someone else told me to wear, it felt so… Right. I bought my opal choker, charmed it, and the local witch who sold it to me, remarked that Boulder Opal was meant to bring the real person within, out.
Looking back to that, it’s… Quite the journey. I’m… Me, and…. I know I’m gonna change more, that’s just a part of life, but, it’s been pretty cool getting to know myself. I channel spirits, I’m an incubus after making a deal with a few contracted demons and Lilith, and I’m always here for my friends. Self consciousness will always be something holding people back, and the same with body image, but, I’m much more comfortable as the person I am now, than I was before.
I think, to really say it more clearer…
I feel, free.
Enlightened.
Me.
Beezer: Who do you look up to?
Oh! Well, this is interesting as well!
I… Look up to a lot of people. I’ve looked up to my Spanish teacher in High School since, my junior year. He’s adopted me as his kid, by word of mouth and by action, the way he’s been, along with my school secretary. They’ve… Become like my mom and dad, in the context of things, I’d always make excuses to spend time with them than my own parents, and, I’d always hang out with them after school because I was so… Well, I was starved for parental affection. I felt wrong, so disastrously wrong for craving their love. “What about their children? Obviously, they won’t just drop everything to be with you, damnit!” But, those fears were just childish, my mom, when she figured how I was feeling, and she calmed me down by saying,
“It’s okay to cry, it’s okay to be weak sometimes when all you’ve ever known was to be strong. No matter what anyone says, wherever you go, whomever you become, you will always be my son.”
That was when my dad jumped in, and nonchalantly tried to hype it up by saying,
“And who better yet to be our son than a brave prince, with a soul older than the gods himself?”
(Now, mind you, my dad is sort of nuts. He’s a very strict teacher, everyone fears him and his teaching since he still uses the old RAP THE RULER TO ENVOKE PURE FEAR, but, his a very goofy guy with the air of a Sultan. Ever since I did my tarot cards, he’s always seen them as holy predictions as they for the most part, has. So, he’s always more or less, meaning well, just not… Wording things well…!)
I’ve left high school since, and I still get word from them time to time, I send cards, but, sometimes, I want to be their kid. I want to look up to them the way their kids do (Though, my dad, his sons left him with their mom when he was in the military. He… Well, he personally thinks I was sent to be his kid as part of fate. His words, not mine, but, those words always stuck with me.) and be just like them. So strong, so wise, but so loving as well.
My grandpa and grandma are just two of my supposed biggest fans, they’ve done nothing but support me, and well, frankly, I’ve always used their struggles to live in the time they are now to go on with my schooling. My grandmother worked as a worker for Verizon for years, while taking care of her mother, and her four kids at the age of 40 as a single mom, working the telephone poles (Something she claims only men did at the time, so, she worked her hardest to make ends meet). She taught me first about magic, and most of the basic Hindu mythos (We still cry over the movies and depictions of Parvati.) My grandpa, as it goes, isn’t really my grandpa, he’s simply my Gram’s neighbor and they’ve both come to fall in love with each other (As… Much as she won’t admit it openly.)
He took me in as a young child when my parents didn’t, and was one of the first teachers I had, teaching me “Ese Lunar” (Cielito lindo, in actuality) and my first basic Spanish, and inspiring me with stories from the bible, but also about cultural figures like Santa Muerte and such. Sometimes, I gloss over it, but, I’ve always admired them. The way they bicker so much, but will always wake up the next morning, making tea and coffee and reading the paper and then asking me to do the chores and heavy lifting like we’re on Smallville. I always enjoyed their basic lifestyle… It’s taught me a lot, especially in how to appreciate the little things in life, from receiving a letter, to writing one and mailing it everyday, they’ve done so much to me, that I can only hope to do the same for them.
I look up, well, I idolize a lot of fictional characters too, like Terra Branford from Final Fantasy 6 or Yukino Mayuzumi from Persona 1 and 2. Terra keeps faith and hope for the orphans of the town of Mobliz, while Yukino struggles with her feelings for her mentor as a photographer.
Terra is a lot like me, she yearns to find out what love means. Not just the romantic ones, not just the “good friend” platonic love. She wants to discover real, true love, which she finds in orphans like her, who cling to her and call her Momma. It’s… Heartbreaking, but hopeful, in the way she was raised to be a weapon, and later, she is reversing it to teach others about love.
Yukino fights, not because she was once a gang member, not because she wants to be the only one to love her mentor, but because she wants her friends and her own student, Ana, safe and sound. Yukino’s life was turned around when her teacher, Ms. Saeko intervened and took her out of the female gang lifestyle to become a teacher like her. It inspired her to go forward, and though she couldn’t become a teacher like Ms. Saeko, she became a photographer and her mentor Shunsuke Fuji becomes her love interest. When a classmate of the protagonist, Ana Yoshizaka, goes rogue and becomes antagonistic, Yukino works to intervene like Saeko did, acknowledging she wasn’t strong enough to say she loved Fuji, nor smart enough to go to college and become a teacher like Ms. Saeko, or have “the eye” to be a photographer like Fuji himself. Instead, she acknowledges she doesn’t need those things to be a person, a strong person, to make sure she wouldn’t let Ms. Saeko’s lessons leave her so quickly to save Ana from a life of crime.
I also really look up to Beowulf, like I mentioned before, as a book, as a character, even as a Skullgirls character (pfft). I’ve always been a fan of wolves, and while they don’t exactly pertain to the legend of Beowulf, they do to the Skullgirls one. For the legend, he’s regarded as “Son of Wulf”, so, merely, his name is can be seen as Beo (lol, the logic is flawed of course, but hear me out) as Wulf was really a common ground name at the time. But, he was a prince of legend, a man the people looked up to and was, while vain, a good man at heart. I really want to emulate that, the same for the Skullgirls Beowulf, he may just be a wolf themed wrestler, but he’s got great intentions at heart besides just wrestling for his fans. But that’s just how I see it, the fact that he’s loosely based on the actual Beowulf, and my analysis of his character, it’s hard for me not to sorta… Look up to that legacy.
And, lastly, it’s my mother goddess Parvati.
Streamlined mythos, she’s mother of Ganesha, and second wife of Shiva after her previous incarnation, Sati, committed suicide by diving into a sacrificial fire when her father Daksha forced her to marry another man and not whom she fell in love with (Shiva).
Parvati, then came as the daughter (and princess) of the Himalayas, and she gives forth an eternal maternal love only she can exude. When I was younger, I was once told, the gods decide who to protect in the world. This was why people tended to favor different gods in different households. My grams favored Vishnu, my father, Shiva, and so forth, we were a Guyanese community, so, superstitions were the best interpretation of “God comes in all forms to be accepted by his devotees.”
I didn’t bond with many gods, Vishnu frightened me, with the terrifying Ananta as his vehicle, Shiva was far too powerful in his austerities. And, one day, when I cried out that I had no one in the world to love me, a woman in a pink shalwar came to me and claimed I needed no such words, because she was here to be my mother, when my mother is not. And so, she accepted me as her child, and, I’ve done nothing more but try to be as patient, loving, and wise as she’s been for me.
She’s never left me alone, and, well, I’m not doing that to anyone I care about either. It’s one of the reasons I look up to her, her love is as eternal as the moon’s light.
Thanks, so, so much for asking! I’d like to apologize again for the lateness! Really, thank you again!
