I wanted to color a light novel cap for you, but it turned out so horrible that I just gave up halfway. And then I was kinda stressing about what to do. Try picking another series you might like or stick to WangXian which you seem to like a lot. I always like sticking to my first present inspiration so I wanted to stick with WangXian. So I went for this template I used a few years back too. And combine it with the light novel art and quotes. I really hope you like it! It might look less interesting as a colored manga cap, but I promise you I spent a lot of time on it. It's still the same effort, if not more hahaha. Hope you'll have a lovely day~!

Just read Scum Villains Self-saving System *spoilers*

[p.s I am dsylexic so take what I say with a grain of salt.]

at the end of the book found myself quoting the main character over his irritation in the beggining of the story.

On one hand if this was a western story I would be raging, but given the writers previous works I can't help but feel as if it's intentional.

I love this story- I own 2/3 volumes and greedily await the third volumes release.

My critique isn't an attack/or even just me spewing hate at the story [God no it's my new obsession] But the thing about art/media etc is that nothing is perfect and some things has flaws I'm just stating the flaws and wondering if others are like me and see some issues with this story or not.

When it comes to the book I genuienly don't know if these 'issues' are ACTUALLY intentional since the beggining it mentions how the author is aeroplane shooting towards the sky is a TERRIBLE author and half-assed his book.

Since this world was half-assed itself does that mean that some moments that happened were just a direct result of that?

My question is was it intetional? Or am I giving Mo Xiang Tong Xiu too much credit.

Which I am HOPING and wish the believe the former as I have watched Untamed/ Grandmaster of Demonic cultivation and seen a snippet of the anime of Heavenly official blessing I'd like to believe that her works are brillient.

Okay enough rambling here's my issue.

At the end of the series once I completed it I felt like Zuko from ATLA

[Since I read the last few chapters online compared to a book where I can stop and see how many pages I have left online it's just next chapter/next chapter etc I saw it had 95 chapters and thought I had a lot to read only to realise it ended 10 chapters short ;^; the additional 10 were 'extras']

Minor spoilers but it was my fault for assuming a BIG climactic scene would happen in the later chapters since the main one was anti-climactic [Shen Qingqiu words not mine] There was a moment when in the 'punishment scene' Shen Qinqiu faced against the OG Luo Binghe the STALLION and then met AGAIN in an extra chapter as Shen Qinqiu tended to his wounds and was none the wiser-

Seeing this I thought "Holy shit now it's gotten GOOD." I thought I would read another 10 glorious chapters of the OG Luo and Shen having to work together to get the BL Luo Binghe back but then it was kinda taken care of quickly.

wee bit of a letdown -_-

Just like how the fight of merging the demon/human realm was just...fixed.

How we get a mushroom body then forget about that too making you think man how cool would've had been if shen Yaun had the mushcroom body and the REAL Shen quinqiu was resurected?

I had also noticed a lot of too much sacrifice and not enough payoff.

Like how Shen Quinqiu had a year of isolatied mediation and got a years worth of cultivation ONLY to lose it to the without a cure.

That Luo Binghe faced so much bullshit in the abyss part only to give his sword up like yeah whatever.

As if to tell the reader not to care too much about a book because they'll be disapointed.

Almost Like any reader/writers relationship with fiction of both trying to toe the balance of what is realistic and makes sense to the story or how someones expectations and assumptions are always BETTER than the main material [As imagination can stretch beyond belief etc]

The best example of this would be FNAF how even scott admitted to changing the story because of fans expectations.

And also how any incosistency or problem or weirdness can easily be explained away by saying.

"Any problem in this world and how everything imedietly fixes itself is because this world was made by aeroplane and he's lazy so of course he made a lazy world."

I don't know if it's a stroke of genius or again- am I giving the writer too much credit?

Also how insanely difficult this book must've been to write?

Incoporating a video game 'system' with rules and goals and points system and remembering which points and achievments the character already got- As well as it being based on an already existing story overlapped with another story with butterfly effects changing the plot etc. But not only that but making it easy for the reader to understand all of these concepts and rules-

[compared to western media and how dumb and lack of simulating content you have to know why I think this is amazing so don't judge me]

-Is just mind Boggling.

The absolute hilarious IRONY of Shen quinqiu critiscing the previous harem ladies IQ ONLY to then lose his IQ rapidly in the later chapters because he was a freakin bad ass but found himself molded and acting like the heroine in the later chapters is just too funny to me.

It's just that I may have jumped the gun and thought oh my god- Shen quinqiu is going to work together with the OG Stallion Luo Binghe to find his husband and going to be reinquinted the the Harem Ladies and end up not only interacting but getting along and comparing their stories of how they survived and met Luo Binghe I can just imagine the Wives/Shen Quinqiu going.

"Ah my lovely Husband of mine, such a great cook."

And also having Luo Binghe [BL] Being jelous of Luo Binghe [Stallion] But alas I'm still happy with how the chapter called the BL counterpart having a bad technique. [Because of the lack of wives and experience it's just funny]

All in all my issues with the book only comes from myself being a creater- given that this book is an obvious embodiment of main Character/Reader y/n and is a fix-it-fanfic only makes it that much better this book is a fantastic playground made for so much fanfic tropes that I would love to write so many [the whole Stallion Luo Binghe and BL Binghe is an idea I would love to write myself]

The short coming I have is to the fanfic writers on a03 the Scu Villain gave a perfect line of how the Heavenly demonic blood can made someone a sex slave.

After scouring pages on fanfic I only found ONE person who took advantage of that line. For shame! [Just kidding but the fact that A/b/o and male preg is higher in fanfics that an actually canon line is a wee bit of a letdown]

All in all fantastic book- Gladly recocmend as well as so happy that it's only a three volume series [I do love my short stories anything that continues is not my cup of tea] Also the artist Xiao Tong who also did Countdown to Countdown has done art for the new books and the art style is so heckin gorgoues it makes me want to cry.

The only thing I can't SPEAK ABOUT would be the cultivation or other issues in the book since it was translated to english [And I know nothing about other Chinese literature] I may have watched anime since I was in primary school and watched french/spanish and other films but there are probably some things in culture/custom etc that I'm ignorant in so I can't really say anything about that.

The only thing I can equate that too is like going into detail about the problems with Star wars and the new movies when...I don't really like star wars or care about it- I'm interested and never realised that cultivatiors was a genre and other stories have this [Like a soulmate or wing au I thought it was an original concept in the untamed story but thankful to know that theres MORE stories out there to learn from]

All in all- 10/10 would recocmend I wish there was an animation for this story but was a bit disapointed with it being CGI [As a 90's kid Cgi and me do not mix well and then there's MLB which ugh do not get me started on that]

But from looking at the actually clips snippets of the CGI SVSSS makes me think of reconsidering and giving it a watch let me know if it's good.

I might draw some fanart along the way who knows?

literally got given the first volume of mo dao zu shi YESTERDAY and i’ve already finished it. I will say it wasn’t a very intensive read, it took me like 7 hours-ish. That was at a reasonable pace tho, not speedreading.

It was just so funny to me when wwx literally got into bed with lwj thinking "this'll piss him off and then he'll finally kick me out" and lwj is just like "fuck yeah we cuddling"
