That is an absolutely hilarious idea, so thank you so much for sending it in! I hope you'll enjoy the headcanons!

So HOMRA's alphabet boys are at IKEA because Shouhei got a new apartment after his old one was infested with bedbugs, which, along with some serious mold and structural issues, meant that the building got condemned, and he now needs new furniture and what he couldn't find at a second-hand store, he plans on getting at IKEA because hell, he's cheap. He's only working part time jobs, after all. And the others just kind of tag along with him, because he was mentioning it at the bar. Kamamoto came along for IKEA's food court and Yata had nothing better to do that day. Even Anna's there, mostly because she needs a new lamp for her bedside table. Some certain people might have been goofing around with a ball and might have ended up throwing it into her room and breaking her alarm clock and her lamp. She doesn't much care about the alarm clock...but she really liked that lamp and hopes IKEA has something similar.

Scepter 4's Alphabet Boys are there carrying out errands for the higher up's and doing some of their own shopping. Munakata and Seri are much too busy to really do their own IKEA runs, even if it is stuff needed for the headquarters or the dorms, and Fushimi would probably rather die than ever set foot in an IKEA, let's be real. The task was initially trusted to Akiyama, Benzai, Fuse, and Kamo but Hidaka tagged along because an extra set of hands never hurts things, Andy thought the errands seemed fun, Enomoto had things he needed, and Goto just got finished reading a horror novel that was set in a renamed IKEA and wanted to go see if all IKEA's were haunted.

Goto is very disappointed in both the lack of ghosts and the lack of anything interesting.

Bandou and Enomoto end up getting into a shouting match in the Smart Home section of IKEA as they're both fans of different technology vis a vis smart homes, and what started off as a debate ended up becoming far more.

Chitose's taking a nap on one of the display couches, under the guise of 'researching the best sofa' for Shouhei. Dewa got bored with the whole IKEA run half-way through and is sitting opposite Chitose in a display chair and reading. He's really in love with the chair and probably even buys one to have as a reading chair in his apartment.

Kamamoto and Hidaka both end up in the food court...and they know each other. They know who the other is and they really should be fighting, they both know it but like...there's the meatballs and who can really fight a dude who's just trying to chill and eat his meatballs?

Kamo ends up helping Anna with her lamp shopping after he got her a lamp she'd been trying to reach on one of the high-up shelves. He ends up recommending her the one he'd buy his daughter and she feels too bad after hearing him say that that she buys it despite thinking it's ugly.

Yata actually ends up being the only one to actually seriously help Shouhei with his shopping, but he disappears when it comes time to put all the furniture together somehow. Benzai and Akiyama pass them a few times, but they both mostly just do their own thing and ignore the HOMRA boys, who never even notice them because they're not in uniform.

Eric and Fujishima have spent almost the entire time in the pet section, where Fujishima finds a lot of great deals for all the strays he feeds and takes care of. He leaves IKEA the happiest.

New Japan Cup quarterfinals preview

The New Japan Cup started with 28 men and now only eight remain. Two of the quarterfinal matches will be on March 16, and the other two will be on the 17th. The winners advance to the semifinals on March 18. Whoever wins the final on March 20 will earn the right to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP world title on April 6.

March 16: SANADA vs. Jack Perry - This is a rematch from June 25, 2023, at AEW's Forbidden Door show. At the time, Sanada was fresh off of winning the IWGP world championship and Perry was a beloved babyface in AEW answering an open challenge. Things have changed.

Perry was out of his depth nine months ago, and after he lost he turned heel, sending him down a dark path that led to joining New Japan's House of Torture. Meanwhile, Sanada's title reign was widely considered a disappointment--he lost the belt to Naito in Janaury and then lost a rematch in February. It seems highly unlikely Sanada will win this tournament and set a third title bout with Naito. I think 2024 will be a rebuilding year for him, so it's just a question of who will knock him out of title contention.

In that context, I think there's a strong case for Perry getting his win back over Sanada. If Sanada were still being protected as a top guy, there's no way New Japan would job him out to a junior heavyweight. But he's clearly been moved down a peg or two. He doesn't have to be eliminated by Perry--anybody from Bullet Club or House of Torture would make sense crushing his dreams for heel heat. But Perry has the most to gain from that role.

March 16: David Finlay vs. Hirooki Goto - The winner of this match will advance to face the winner of Sanada vs. Perry in the semifinals. This is apparently the first time these two have met one-on-one, which boggles my mind.

Since taking over Bullet Club, Finlay has meant more as a singles act, so he has to be the heavy favorite against Goto. On the other hand, if Jack Perry makes it to the semifinals, Finlay doesn't make sense as his opponent--Goto would be a better fit whether Perry wins or loses. On the other other hand, if Sanada reaches the semifinals, Finlay would make perfect sense as the guy to eliminate him. Unless the plan is for Sanada to make it to the final, in which case I suppose it doesn't make much difference who wins here.

I'm a little torn here, because Sanada vs. Finlay would be a bigger semifinal matchup, but Perry vs. Goto would be a lot more interesting in terms of making me wonder if Perry can go all the way. And I can't dismiss the possibility of a Sanada vs. Goto match I don't care about. So I guess I'll pick Goto to win.

March 17: EVIL vs. Shingo Takagi - Evil is the NEVER champion, but the title isn't at stake during the tournament. If Shingo wins, though, he'd likely get a rematch for the (spray-painted) gold. Takagi is 2-1 so far against Evil in singles matches, but Evil won their last encounter in 2023; it's been nearly three years since Shingo has beaten the king of darkness.

Logically speaking, Evil really should lose before the final. That way the guy who beats him can challenge for the NEVER title. If Evil loses to the tournament winner, that guy won't have time to chase Evil because he'll be challenging for the IWGP world title. If Evil wins the tournament, then he'll be chasing the world title, and the NEVER belt will just be on ice for a while. Also, I don't think they'd book Evil vs. Ren Narita in an all-House of Torture battle. So--logically speaking--Evil needs to lose either to Takagi or to Yota Tsuji in the next round.

However, realistically speaking, New Japan is in love with pushing House of Torture a little more than you'd expect, to get heel heat. For example, it'd be absolutely absurd to have three House of Torture guys in the final four, but New Japan has convinced me they're not afraid to do something that obnoxious. So I can't rule out worst-case scenarios like that. But just going with my gut, I think we'll either get Takagi vs. Narita or Evil vs. Tsuji in the semis. So I'll pick Shingo to win here.

March 17: Ren Narita vs. Yota Tsuji - Whoever wins this match will meet the winner of Evil vs. Takagi in the semifinals. During their Young Lion days, Narita went 5-0 against Tsuji in singles matches. Of course, what really counts is how well they've done after returning from excursion, but they've only had one clash since then--a 20-minute draw back in last year's G1 Climax. So when it comes to one-on-one matchups, Yota has never beaten Ren, and he's never even faced this version of Ren, who joined House of Torture in December.

Tsuji, Narita, and Shota Umino were proclaimed "the Reiwa Musketeers" last year, likening them to big names in previous generations who quickly took off and carried the company. Shota (not to mention Yuya Uemura, who almost feels like the fourth musketeeer) has already been eliminated from the tournament. So only one of the Reiwa musketeers has a chance of winning this thing.

I'd be cool with Tsuji going all the way, except that I don't think this year's Cup winner is going to win the world title. In the right circumstances a wrestler can get over from trying and failing to win the world title, but Tsuji already did all that last year--doing it again so soon would just make him look like a choke artist. Narita is probably the one guy left in this tournament with the most to gain from winning the Cup and losing to Naito. So as much as I prefer Tsuji, I'm picking Ren to win.

This show ruled. Full disclosure, I've fallen behind with NJPW in the last couple of years, and only really get to fully see the major shows, so going in this looked like a solid little card on paper, so my expectations weren't exactly sky high. However, the New Japan crew knocked it out of the park with an excellent, Show of the Year contender. Things started as they always do: The annual "cram everyone humanly possible onto the card" Rambo. We all know what to expect here, and this was better than a lot of previous offerings, but the surprise appearance of Fujita "Jr" Hayato in this years really raised it up for me, as I'm always super pleased to see him back in the ring after all he's been through. Takashi Iizuka turning up was also a nice surprise (absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all that), and it was a kick to be transported back to 2013 with him mercilessly going after poor Shimpei Nogami on commentary. The ending though was very deja vu, as I could have sworn some incredibly similar variant of this was the outcome last year. The final four of Great-O-Khan, Taiji Ishimori, YOH and Toru Yano advanced to face off for the KOPW Title tomorrow.

The main show started in style with the prerequisite Jr Tag Title Match, which featured TJP debuting his new demon gimmick, The Aswang, because he was locked in a casket when last we saw him, you see. My English feed froze at the opening bell on the Aswang mask for ages, and by the time I'd gotten back onto the Japanese feed, I'd missed like three minutes of this, there were brawls all over ringside, The Aswang was wearing a dog collar, and Moloney was bleeding. The final 5 or so minutes I did see were pretty damn good though, so that's what my rating is based on. TJP got this win for him and Akira after he blew the dreaded Dokukiri into Drilla's face, then Catch 22 hit the double knees to regain the titles at 9:38. Next up, President Tanahashi put an end to the 365 day TV Title reign of ZSJ in an excellent 8:53 sprint. These guys always have excellent matches together, and this was no exception. They worked a fast-paced thriller, which boiled down to them hitting a sequence of cradle reversals, before Tana counter a Zack Victory Roll into one of his own, and won the belt to a big pop. President Ace thanked everyone for coming in the post match, and wished us all a Happy New Year. Godly.

Career rivals Tsuji and Uemura had their first non-Young Lion outing on a major show next. This was a very good little match, I've always been high on both guys since they were rookies, and I firmly believe they have incredibly bright futures in New Japan, and are destined to be focal points in the years to come. Even though I do wish they'd do more with Yota. The guy came in super hot, with a ton of hype, and now he's kinda just floundering in the mid-card. And more mid-carders is most certainly not something this company needs! They always have really good matches, so add this one to that list, which ended at just under 11 minutes, when Uemura got the much needed win with his beautiful Deadbolt suplex. Fellow future superstar Shota Umino drove into Tokyo Dome on a motorbike to start his and partner, NOAH "Ace" Kiyomiya's tag match against HoT goons EVIL and Ren Narita next. This was going along really nicely, the three young guys all looked great, and the crowd were very much into, until the standard shenanigans started, which lead to a fairly abrupt finish, which saw Narita deck Umino with a steel plated push-up bar, then score the pin with his Double Cross finish at the 7 minute mark.

The fifth bout saw company MVP Shingo defend the NEVER Title against Tama Tonga in a hard-hitting war, which was by far the best match on the show up to this point. The near 30K in attendance were going crazy for this as they hit all their big spots, massive Lariats and Gun Stun counters. After Takagi scored a great near fall with Made in Japan, Tama went to the Bullet Club well, hitting a Gun Stun, Bloody Sunday AND a Styles Clash, before putting Shingo away with the DSD at 13:46 to claim his 4th NEVER Championship. Excellent stuff here, though seemingly Tama announced afterwards that he's finishing up with the company at the end of the month, so him winning is an... interesting decision. The double Tag Title match followed, which was a rematch of the Tag League Final between Bishamon and GoD. This was another great match, a fun sprint which saw the STRONG Champions win both sets of belts after ELP hit Goto with CRIII, and Hikuleo came off the top with a massive, but very unattractive, Big Splash to win the belts in 9:47. Just before this match, Nic Nemeth (the former Dolph Ziggler) and his brother Ryan turned up to sit at ringside. I think we all know there's some kind of angle coming here.

Speaking of career rivals, Hiromu and Despy faced off for the Jr. Heavy Title in the next bout. We've seen many versions of this match in recent history, and they're pretty much always excellent, so this fit that mould no doubt. Things started hot as Despy hit Hiromu with a Tope con Giro as he made his entrance, and they worked 100 mph from there. The challenger worked over the champions leg to set up the Numero Dos, but it wasn't to be. The finish saw Desperado escape the Hiromu Roll, then hit a Jay Driller, kept a hold and nailed Takahashi with a second Pinche Loco to win the strap at the 14:21 mark to end another great outing. We crowned an inaugural IWGP Global champion next, as Ospreay, Moxley and Finlay had a wild Triple Threat Match. This started with Mox and Ospreay agreeing to work together for the first 5 minutes in order to take out Finlay, then turn their attention on each other, before BC War Dogs Alex Coughlin and Gabe Kidd ran in. The babyfaces rallied a comeback though, which saw Ospreay put the invaders through tables with a Swanton Bomb to the outside, and Moxley took a post bump and gigged himself. Which I'm sure will shock many. The finishing stretch was insanely hot as Mox kicked at one from a Hidden Blade, but was put down with Stormbreaker, only for Finlay to hit Ospreay with his new Overkill finish, which is essentially a Brainbuster into a Go 2 Sleep, to become the inaugural Global champion in 22:17. In the post match, Finlay got into a shoving match and pull-apart with Nic Nemeth at ringside, which culminated in Nemeth chasing him to the back. So that looks to be Finlay's first title programme. Finlay going over was 100% the right call, with Ospreay leaving as a full-timer, they need to start making some top guys, and he's a good place to start.

Semi final time, and a true dream match next as Okada faced Danielson in a match I'd spent a good decade fantasy booking. After their slightly disappointing first encounter at Forbidden Door in June, due in no small part by Dragon legit breaking his arm during it, they came out with a lot to prove. And they certainly didn't disappoint this time as they had a superb wrestling encounter based around aggression and emotion. As anyone who's been watching Danielson since the ROH days can attest, when Bryan has a grudge with someone (Morishima, Nigel), he goes all out with the intensity, and it usually produces classics. The pacing, the limb-work, the storytelling, the drama... everything about this was essentially perfect. After Okada broke Danielson's arm in their previous match, Dragon obsessively set out to do the same here. And it lead to his downfall. The American Dragon was coming into this one with a fractured orbital bone, so Okada worked over that for a while too. Okada kicked out of a Busaiku Knee, Danielson locked on the same arm submission he tapped Okada out with at Forbidden Door, but The Rainmaker made the ropes. Dragon then stomped his f'n head in and locked in the LeBell Lock, only for Okada to hit a Rainmaker, but he was in too much pain from his devastated right arm, and couldn't make the cover. Danielson hit a big head kick and another Busaiku Knee, but rather than go for the cover, he elected to do the "Yes!" gimmick in the corner, and try another knee, but Okada hit an Emerald Flowsion, a Landslide, then another Rainmaker to fall on top of Dragon, and score the surprise win at the 23:24 (which it felt half of, by the way). This was a masterpiece, and I was legitimately shocked when the three count came. I could have watched this for an hour, it left me very much wanting a rubber match, and this is easily the best match of 2024 so far. They bowed to each other and shook hands in the post match.

The Keiji Muto fan club imploded in the main event as former LIJ stablemates Naito and SANADA (who was even dressed like Muto circa 1995), battled for the World Title. This was an excellent match, one that I didn't have a massive amount of interested in going into this show, but they had a really great clash. It's worth mentioning that something happened to SANADA here, I don't know if it was the biceps injury he's been dealing with since G1, or if he seperated his shoulder or something, but he was in noticeable discomfort through this, and it let to some wonky botches near the finish. They tried multiple times to do a Destino counter, but they couldn't pull it off. SANADA hit Dead Fall for the double down, then an Asai DDT, but Naito escaped a second Dead Fall attempt, and went for Valentia, but SANADA countered into an O'Connor Roll for a super close near fall. A Shining Wizard followed, but Naito turned another Dead Fall attempt into one of his own, finally hit Valentia, then finished the champion off with Destino to win his first World title at 25:42. It's worth pointing out that they clashed heads on the way down on the Destino, and Naito got busted open pretty bad over his eye. With Naito having finally won again in the main event of Tokyo Dome, he was about to Finish His Story, when EVIL and Dick Togo, of all people, ran-in in an attempt to ruin things like KENTA did in 2020. However, they hadn't bargained on SANADA, who nailed his former tag partner with a Shining Wizard, and Naito sent Dick packing with a low dropkick. SANADA then let Naito finish the story a decade in the making, and do his "De-Ja-Pon!!!" roll call to end the show and send everyone home happy. Whilst I applaud NJPW for giving SANADA a go, or just giving ANYONE NEW a shot at the top of the card (it's been very Groundhog Day for a long time up there, and this is something I've been encouraging since NAito at WK8!), I don't think it payed off liked they'd hoped. SANADA is a very good worker, and amazing athlete, but he's just missing something that would make him that major star. Which is obviously something Naito has in abundance, so I'm very pleased he got his big win here, as it was pretty much last chance saloon.

This was a tremendous card, not quite as good as last year's, I don't think, but still great, great stuff and well worth checking out. Especially the Okada/Danielson match!

Day Twooo: what is one of the stupidest things they ever did in their life. (Nothing super drastic like curring your fucking limbs off, more like accidentally microwaved metal and blew up the kitchen) I will let you deciee the fandom!

Okay, just because this ask was super interesting and because you gave me some fandom freedom, of course I had to find ways to work in each of my fandoms, so take this jumble of headcanons and hopefully you’ll enjoy them!

Tsuna, when he was a really young child, no more than four or five, ate a piece of the pink, fluffy insultation because he thought it was cotton candy. Nana almost had a heart attack when she figured out what was in his mouth and rushed him pretty quickly to a doctor.

Ren Gotou, as a child, really wanted to see if the whole ‘electrical appliance in the bathtub’ thing really worked the same way it did on television. So, he ran a bath, stuck a few of his action figures in there along with his second-favourite stuffed animal, plugged in a hair dryer, and tossed it into that bathtub, expecting to see bright flashes of electricity and smoking toys in the water. It was really anticlimactic though, thanks to the GFI switch attached to the hairdryer.

Uno says her name was Catherine…getting caught and arrested so many times is a close second though.

It’s not incredibly stupid like some of the other things, but Momonoki can get really absorbed in her thoughts and has a really bad habit of running into doors, far more often than she should…it’s kind of made a little worse by the fact that she instinctually apologizes for running into them every single time before she figures out that it was just a door.

Kenji tried to ride a pig once. There was another farmer in the village who was bragging about how big his prize hog had gotten and Kenji heard him say that it was almost as big as a horse. So, of course, Kenji figured that meant that the pig was rideable. Turns out, they are most definitely not and Kenji ended up with a lot of scrapes, a bad bite on his arm, and a broken leg.

Tsubaki has bought a snack from the convenience store and because he always takes the receipt but never actually has any use for them, he’s gone to throw out the receipt on the way past the front doors, where the garbage cans normally are, only to throw out his snack and keep the receipt in hand. It’s happened more than once is the really sad part.

Goku has tried to put out a candle by smothering it…with a tissue. Sanzo yelled at him for hours about how he was trying to burn the whole building down and kill them all and Goku isn’t allowed to light candles without supervision, even though that was a long time ago, in his defense.

Jumin, when he was younger and a little more vengeful about his father’s girlfriends, ended up cutting up some of his father’s new girlfriend’s clothes…and blaming it on a pet. A pet they did not have. A pet that could not have gotten into their penthouse without being caught. He’s always been a very, very bad liar, guys.

Fenrir’s parents have a pond in the back of their property. By their pond rests a little boathouse, low enough that, with the help of the tree nearby, it’s pretty easy to get on top of. It’s pretty easy to see where this is going. He and Ray climbed up to the top of the boathouse one day when they were barely teenagers and they seriously misjudged both the depth and distance into the water. There were some pretty serious injuries and both of them have interesting scars to prove just how stupid they used to be.

Unsui and Agon always tried to pull the twin switch when they were really, really young, probably until about second or third grade and always on Agon’s insistence. It would have worked well, except that Unsui always forgot that he was supposed to answer to Agon and would end up only answering to his own name, which got them busted pretty easily every time.

Darry and Soda, back before Pony was even born, used to have a lot of fun playing on a small hill a little way away from the house. They played all the usual games, and it became their spot. Anyway, they decided to highjack some junked tires one day so that they could try rolling down the hill in them, like they’d seen some other kids do. Anyway, long story short, the hill ended at the road and when Darry rolled down in the tire, it ended on the road. Wouldn’t have been so bad…if a car hadn’t been coming…and if Darry hadn’t ended up getting stuck in the tire so badly that he couldn’t wiggle out. If it wasn’t for Soda running and screaming into the road and the driver’s quick reflexes, the situation could have ended very badly. As it was, Soda struggled to get Darry and the tire off the road and had to end up running home to get his mother to come and get Darry out of the tire.

Kento once ate fake fruit thinking it was real. The worst thing – he finished it and just chalked the weird taste up to it being underripe.

Makio, as a kid, on a bet, stuck his hand into a fresh-of-the-stove bowl of soup just to prove that he could. He got a cool scar and ten dollars out of it…almost made the second degree burns worth it.

Ginji once not only blew the breaker in the Honky Tonk (the cost for a new one was added to their tab) but caused a blackout in the entire neighbourhood trying to convince Paul that he could generate enough power to cut drastically back on Paul’s electric bill – drastically enough that Paul should really cut their tab in half. Instead, it increased by about half.

Someone once asked Dmitri for the time. He was holding a hot cup of coffee. When he turned his wrist to check his watch (a watch he was not wearing because he doesn’t actually own a watch since he relies on his cell phone to tell him the time), he ended up dumping the hot coffee on the person who had stopped him.

Atlanta once, when she was about eight or nine, tried to bungee jump from a tree by tying one end of a bungee cord around a tree branch and one end around her ankles. She made sure to tie them really tight, of course, just to be safe. It just didn’t quite work out like she figured it would…that one hurt a lot.

Norman had a friend that Harry didn’t much like, but who would come to stay every couple weekends. She’d pinch Harry’s cheeks and make stupid comments and little Harry really, really didn’t want her over. So, one night, when she had taken her hearing aid out to clean it and then had to use the washroom, he seized his chance. He not only stole this poor woman’s hearing aid but stuck it in the toaster and turned the toaster on. Not only was the hearing aid destroyed, but the toaster ended up on fire. Needless to say, Norman was really, really angry with Harry and he found himself very grounded.
