Step up! 'Cause you're the next one in line for the kill
You don't believe me but I'm betting that you will
Step up! I'll let you live a little bit with the pain that I bring
You know it's only the beginning
"Well, I'm very excited about the NFL draft, there are a lot of excellent players eligible this year, and as you know the Jaguars are great team looking for some great new players, and even though I'm a little banged up from this Wednesday at Dynamite--and we had a great show last night in spite of what happened--the important thing is I'm breathing, and if Kenny Omega has to carry me on his back between now and then, maybe he could drag me in a wagon, but it's very interesting that I'm still breathing. And I think that's the scary part for the Young Bucks and Jack Perry. I'm breathing, you understand what I'm saying? YOU SHOULDA GOT IT DONE. IT'S VIOLENCE FOR THE SAKE OF VIOLENCE. So I think now I will turn it around to my violence, my lightning bolt, my fire, my thunder."
Seen a lot of fans looking forward to Kenny Omega's return and fantasy booking him forming a team to go against the new Elite.
Remember everybody, Kenny is nowhere near ready to return to the ring. Diverticulitis is pretty rough stuff. The Wrestling Observer recently reported that he's been trying to avoid surgery but it's looking like he really needs it. I've read that in one of his Twitch streams he's mentioned an upcoming hospital stay. So he probably still hasn't undergone the surgery; once he does, he's still looking at months of recovery.
I know they said he's returning on Dynamite next week, but that's mainly because the show is in Winnipeg. Evidently Kenny feels up to making an appearance in his hometown. But that doesn't mean they're going to start setting up for his return match next week. They might do an angle to write him off TV for a while, and it would probably lead to Kenny vs. the Elite someday. But don't count on it happening anytime soon.
Can't believe they just turned Jack Perry into "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and the Elite into the McMahon-Helmsley Faction, and they're somehow all on the same side.
I mean, they knew how to control the sound production the last 50 times they ran shows in this amphitheater, so I'm not sure why this time would be different.
They don’t know how to control their sound production right now because they are at an amphitheater which is open air.
There is an echo and voices are hushed
Sounds are escaping before they can be properly captured by a microphone
The problem with this theory is that people irrationally hated the Young Bucks long before they created hundreds of jobs, and well before they had the backing of factions like Bullet Club. There are stories going back to 2011--maybe earlier--about them catching heat for failing to properly respect the veterans or just generally doing things the "wrong" way.
People don't like the Bucks because they're disruptors who defy the norms of pro wrestling. The story Dave Meltzer likes to tell is that he saw them at PWG and thought "this isn't how it's supposed to work," but since it was working he knew he needed to learn from it, and adapt his way of thinking. Not everyone is willing to swallow their pride and do that--it's easier to assume "these kids don't understand the business" and wait for them to fail. Since the Bucks haven't failed (not yet, anyway), the naysayers become embittered, and desperate to find any way to justify their position. Every potential misstep is a chance to pounce and say "I told you so."
It's possible Nick and Matt could defuse some of this negativity by articulating their side of the story in various controversies. But they've devoted their entire adult lives to self-promotion and pro wrestling, so they can't help but lean into the negativity by acting like smarmy pricks. They don't want to convince the haters to like them, not even when they're playing babyface or being out-of-character, so they add elements to their public personas that antagonize the haters. That generates more controversies and new haters, but it also keeps them in the spotlight, which benefits their bottom line.
I'm not saying the Bucks deserve all the crap they get from their detractors. They obviously don't. But I do think they bring a lot of it on themselves, deliberately, because it's good for business. I'm not sure it's good for them in the long run. However, it's pretty standard for the biggest names in pro wrestling to put all their effort into the hustle of being loved/hated as much as possible, even at the expense of their personal wellbeing.
i've come to a conclusion. i think the reason the young bucks get so much hate despite being objectively good individuals and creating jobs for hundreds of employees and being best friends with dozens of beloved wrestlers across multiple promotions is this. they've never truly been underdogs (an identity that can get literally anyone over with an audience), because they have never been, at any point in their televised career, alone. they've always been a part of the deadliest factions wherever they are - elite or bullet club - and they have ALWAYS had backup, but most importantly nick and matt have always had each other. that's a unique privilege and security that few can relate to and it seems to make the most lonely among us angry and hateful for this reason
Damn, I hadn't even thought of that. They gotta have him stay champion until then. Or take the belt off him right before, so he can win it back in his backyard. Either way.
Swerve made FUCKING HISTORY TONIGHT!!!
LFG!!!
Wrestledream is in Tacoma, so please let him keep it until AT LEAST THEN
